  1. You're listening to the Bridgetown Church Podcast with

  2. Pastor Casey Kendall, where our vision is Jesus, our mission is

  3. people, and our cause is love. Thanks for tuning in.

  4. Let's dive in turn to Isaiah chapter. 6 And our our vision at

  5. our church is that we. Exist to reach people where

  6. they're at and to connect them to everything that God has for

  7. their life in Christ. Jesus.

  8. And we're just going to put it up on the.

  9. Wall for just a second. That we as a church, we exist.

  10. To reach people where they're at and then to connect them to

  11. everything that God has for their life in Jesus.

  12. This is the driving force of our church.

  13. This is the mission that we believe.

  14. That God has called. Us to be on is that we're going

  15. to be a. Church that exists to reach

  16. people where they're at, not where we.

  17. Hoped they would be, not where. We necessarily see.

  18. Them in the future. But where they're at, actually,

  19. right? Now and then we're going to

  20. connect. Them to everything that God has

  21. for their life in Christ. And so if we give someone food,

  22. but we don't give them Jesus, we might have filled their.

  23. Stomach, but we didn't fill their heart.

  24. If we now rescue someone. Out of a.

  25. Certain situation which I. Believe we should all be a part

  26. of. In defending the orphan and the

  27. widow, is it? If we've just done that without

  28. giving them Jesus, I believe we've missed the whole.

  29. Picture. And I believe that Jesus needs

  30. to be in the work of Jesus, the forefront of our minds and our

  31. hearts. And I believe that that that God

  32. is calling for the church to have boldness, to be bold enough

  33. to stand on the word of. God and the.

  34. Convictions that we have in the Bible.

  35. This is not going to be a church that you might be swayed by

  36. culture. We don't want to be a church

  37. that's the cool church. We want to be a church that's

  38. the convicted church, the church that's going to stand upon the

  39. authority of what God has given to us in his word.

  40. So if you have someone sitting next to you, if you would just

  41. look at them and say neighbor, my neighbor, here am I, here am

  42. I, The Bible says in Isaiah chapter 6, if you would jump,

    Isaiah 6 chapter mention

  43. jump with me down to verse, verse.

  44. One we'll. Start there.

  45. In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on

  46. a throne high and lifted up. In the train of his robe filled

  47. the temple, and above it stood Seraphim.

  48. Each one had 6 wings. With two he covered his face,

  49. with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew, and one

  50. cried out to another, and said, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of

  51. host. The whole earth is full of his

  52. glory. And the post of the door was

  53. shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was

  54. filled with smoke. And then I said, Woe is me, I'm

  55. undone because I'm a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the

  56. midst of people of unclean lips for my eyes.

  57. Guys have seen the king, the Lord of hosts.

  58. And then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his.

  59. Hand a live coal. Which he had taken with the

  60. tongs from the altar, and he touched my mouth with it, and

  61. said, Behold, this has touched your lips, and your iniquity is

  62. taken away, and your sin is purged.

  63. And then I heard the voice of the Lord, which I believe he's

  64. even speaking today. Whom shall I send and who will

  65. go for us? And then I said, here am I.

  66. Once again Isaiah said, here am I.

  67. It was about 300 years ago that a visionary by the name of Count

  68. Nicholas Ludwig von Zinzendorf found in something called the

  69. Order of the Mustard Seed. He had gathered a group of men

  70. together. In this time.

  71. It was a an eclectic group that included the King of Denmark,

  72. the Archbishop of Canterbury, Scotland, Secretary of State and

  73. an 84 year old who was the chief of a nation, Tama Cheeky.

  74. They'd all gathered together and each member wore a ring and on

  75. the ring it said these words. None of us lives to himself or

  76. for himself. On the rings there was this

  77. inscription and each member pledged their wealth and their

  78. influence for the cause of Christ.

  79. The Mustard Seed Order had three promises that these men would

  80. keep amongst themselves. Number one rule that they

  81. followed was that they would be true to Jesus Christ no matter

  82. what happened in their land on their culture.

  83. That Jesus was their king and they would follow after him #2

  84. rule is that they would be kind to all people.

  85. The number three rule is that they would take the gospel to

  86. the nations. It was Count Zinzendorf that

  87. began something called the 24/7 hours of prayer.

  88. He founded what they called the Monrovia Society and in that

  89. they prayed every day for 100 years straight.

  90. When you join a prayer meeting, like what happens at 9:00 to

  91. 9:30 at our church and you pray for 100 days straight, you begin

  92. to learn what breaks the heart of God will begin to break your

  93. heart also. And so this Monrovian Gospel

  94. correlation group began to form so big, and there were two men

  95. that decided to do something. Radical.

  96. And as they decided to do something radical, these two

  97. members that have no name that you would ever recognize or

  98. know, they joined to their lives to something to abolish slavery.

  99. It was William Wilberforce who in England who would help end

  100. slavery with their Parliament that would go back to the

  101. Monrovian society as an inspiration for his own life.

  102. But these two guys decided that they would join in, and these

  103. two men sold themselves into slavery.

  104. You might never recognize their name, or you might never know

  105. their name at all. Johan Dobert was one man, Daniel

  106. Nichman was the other man. And they sold themselves to be

  107. property that they would go to the land of Saint Thomas as

  108. slaves themselves that they would reach.

  109. Those who were slaves with the. Gospel of Jesus Christ crying

  110. with their families as they joined together and the boat.

  111. The boat would leave the dock. These men shouted out one

  112. statement to their family. May the Lamb who was slain

  113. receive the reward of his suffering.

  114. If there was ever a time that we would re engineer mission of

  115. what these men experienced, I believe it would flow back to

  116. Isaiah chapter 6. If we reimagined and God would

    Isaiah 6 chapter mention

  117. to reverse engineer all of mission.

  118. I believe it takes us back to Isaiah chapter 6 verse 8 where

    Isaiah 6:8

  119. the prophet Isaiah said to the Lord when he heard the call here

  120. am I. I believe it was Isaiah who

  121. would now show to us that if revival wants to happen, that

  122. God would take someone and anyone and give them courage to

  123. do anything at all for His glory.

  124. I believe it was Isaiah who's the prophet of the Lord.

  125. And I know a lot of times we look at the prophets as men in

  126. which they were, who had two functions of their lives as they

  127. answered the call of God. They foretold the future and

  128. they also foretold the word of God.

  129. And here is Isaiah as a person who made himself available to

  130. what God had for his life. Now the number one excuse in

  131. when it comes to mission and being bold for Jesus is I don't

  132. have the ability to do this for the Lord.

  133. But that's really not the question.

  134. The question is, do you have the availability to be used by the

  135. Lord in which after the availability He gives you the

  136. ability to do something great for His name.

  137. And here is Isaiah. You remember our number one rule

  138. is you can't give a golf clap here.

  139. If you really agree on something, you could just say

  140. Amen to that or you could say that was good Pastor.

  141. Listen, Isaiah came to a spot in his life where now he makes

  142. himself available to the Lord. But before that statement, I

  143. just want to back up to what Isaiah was actually experiencing

  144. in this moment. The Bible says in the year that

  145. king Uzziah died all the way in chapter 6, verse one in the year

  146. that king Uzziah died. This was a very sorrowful time

  147. for Isaiah. This was could have been a very

  148. stressful time for Isaiah because Uzziah was a great godly

  149. king and ruler. He stood on the principles of

  150. scripture. He stood for people and for the

  151. glory of God. And now he is dead.

  152. So personal was this to to Isaiah that King Uzziah was

  153. Isaiah's cousin. This was something that was

  154. personal to him. This was something in a moment

  155. of grief, that possibly Isaiah's close relationship with King

  156. Uzziah was a family relationship.

  157. But he lost someone he loved, someone that was ruling

  158. according to the authority of what God wanted.

  159. And here is Isaiah in this moment of grief, sorrow, pain,

  160. and loss. And I don't know if you've ever

  161. been there in a moment of grief, sorrow and pain and loss, when

  162. you lose someone that you loved, when their heart beats for the

  163. last time, when they take their breath on this planet for the

  164. last time. When you hear there, I love you

  165. for the last time, and you wish you could have given them

  166. another, I love you. It's in this moment that Isaiah

  167. finds himself. It's in this place of grief and

  168. pain and loss and agony that the calling of God came to Isaiah.

  169. In his darkest moment, God shines his greatest light upon

  170. in the nation of Israel through the prophet of Israel.

  171. And it's here in the pain that God gives Isaiah his call.

  172. This is the moment. In this moment he said, I saw

  173. the Lord and now mission. When it comes to mission, I'm

  174. not often going. I saw the Lord.

  175. This is what I often say is. I want to do.

  176. For the Lord, but I believe mission begins with vision.

  177. Mission begins with vision, He says, I saw the Lord.

  178. The name of the Lord is the one who has absolute authority,

  179. complete control and sovereign strength.

  180. And notice what he says about the Lord.

  181. Even though King Uzziah died and this is bad, he says, I saw the

  182. Lord. I saw the Lord sitting on his

  183. throne. He's not standing and wringing

  184. his hands, wondering what's going to happen to America,

  185. what's going to happen to Europe, What's going to happen

  186. to South America. He is sitting on the throne.

  187. That is a vision of God in the area of mission.

  188. And then he says this high and lifted up, he's above it all.

  189. And the train of his robe filled the temple.

  190. That always baffled me, but the king in this time would often

  191. have a robe and when he conquered another nation he

  192. would attach the. Robe of that other.

  193. Nation of that king who was defeated to his robe.

  194. Every life that Jesus has rescued, every time that Satan

  195. has lost that life, it's attached to the robe of Jesus

  196. Christ and the train of his robe is filling the temple.

  197. Isaiah sees the Lord. I really believe that if we're

  198. going to really have a heart for mission that we're really going

  199. to have to have a big vision of Jesus.

  200. Not Jesus the hippie Jesus who comes alongside in the field and

  201. rubs his hands against the flowers.

  202. No, no, no, not the American blue eyed version of Jesus who

  203. has a trimmed beard and and blue eyes and, and he's posted up on

  204. on our walls back in the 70s. I'm talking about Jesus born to

  205. a Hebrew woman named Mary, Jesus the Carpenter, whose hands are

  206. calloused with the work of wood and stone.

  207. I'm talking about Jesus who carried a hammer.

  208. I'm talking about the perfect Jesus who never sinned.

  209. I'm talking about Jesus who someone of the Roman origin took

  210. another hammer and would nail him to the cross.

  211. I'm talking about Jesus the Lamb of God who takes away the sins

  212. of the world. I'm talking about Jesus the one

  213. who has absolute authority, the one who has supreme strength,

  214. and the one who's in complete control.

  215. I'm talking about Jesus who, though he was dead, was made

  216. alive. You see, the Pharisees couldn't

  217. stop him, but the grave couldn't even hold him.

  218. I'm talking about that Jesus. I'm talking about a Jesus who is

  219. in complete control of your life, Jesus who is the Lord of

  220. all. I think sometimes what happens

  221. is we place our circumstance over our God, and our God

  222. becomes small and our circumstances become big.

  223. That's what Isaiah could have done in this moment.

  224. But he says, I saw the Lord high and lifted up, and the train of

  225. his robe was filling the temple. And this vision leads to this

  226. revelation. He says above it stood Seraphim.

  227. Each one had 6 wings. Can you imagine that you thought

  228. Jurassic Park was strange? With two he covered his face,

  229. with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew, and one

  230. cried out to another. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord.

  231. If you ever see someone named three times in the Bible, pay

  232. attention to it. He is holy.

  233. He is even holy. He is holy is the Lord.

  234. Notice he doesn't say majesty, majesty, majesty.

  235. He doesn't say glory, glory, glory.

  236. Why? Because what represents the Lord

  237. is holy. He's holy, and I think we need a

  238. bigger view of the holiness of God.

  239. He's called the Lord of hosts, not just for any unknown reason,

  240. but he's the Lord of the angels armies and he fights on the

  241. behalf of what's happening in Cambodia and what's happening in

  242. your life today. I need a bigger version of

  243. Jesus. The whole earth is full of his

  244. glory. I need a bigger version of

  245. Jesus. If you just watch the news,

  246. you're going to be very negative.

  247. But if you really get the news, you could be very positive.

  248. You might look at it and say, no, no, I don't see the whole

  249. earth being filled with the glory of God.

  250. I see problem after problem after problem.

  251. This is the vision that Jesus is in control.

  252. And because he's in control, yes, bad things have happened

  253. and are happening, but he's ultimately in control.

  254. His Holiness reveals his glory. And in this moment, this vision

  255. of Jesus, the post of the door was shaken, and the voice of him

  256. who cried out in the house was filled with smoke.

  257. In the temple. It would fill up with smoke and

  258. it would be representing of the kabod, the presence of God,

  259. which meant the weightiness of God.

  260. Oh, that we would experience the weight in the presence of the

  261. Lord. And I think when we really

  262. experience. The presence of the Lord,

  263. there's something about that moves that, that moves us to

  264. what he's called us to. Notice, if you would, the wow of

  265. God. Led to the woe of Isaiah do.

  266. You see that he says, woe is me, for I'm undone because I'm a man

  267. of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean

  268. lips, for my eyes have seen the king, the.

  269. Lord of Hosts notice. That he that the wow of God led

  270. to the woe of Isaiah. We live in a time where we're

  271. preaching very positive things. But maybe, maybe we shouldn't

  272. just say positive things. Maybe we should say that we are

  273. sinners separated from a holy God.

  274. Maybe we should say that we need to repent.

  275. Maybe we should be willing to say turn to Jesus Christ.

  276. Maybe we should be preaching that Heaven is.

  277. Real hell is real. I think sometimes we want to

  278. preach to people. Just look in your look in the

  279. mirror and say I'm OK, I'm OK, I'm OK.

  280. Maybe you're not OK. Maybe you need the presence of

  281. God to come into a such a place in your life to change what's

  282. not OK. Maybe it's God working in

  283. certain area. I think sometimes we're getting

  284. away from what scripture is actually teaching and that is is

  285. that you're a good person and you're going to be OK.

  286. No, I'm sinful, I'm separated from God and it's only through

  287. Jesus Christ that I could be saved.

  288. And I think we want the wow of God without the woe of man.

  289. And I think sometimes we want to be wowed, but but we don't

  290. really want the woe. We don't want what God is

  291. revealing about ourselves that desperately needs to be changed.

  292. And it's in this vision that Isaiah first gets of God that

  293. actually changes him. He says, I'm a man of unclean

  294. lips. I don't know what that I don't

  295. know. What did he have?

  296. Like a cussing problem. He had unclean lips.

  297. But the Bible does say this. Out of the abundance of your

  298. heart, your mouth speaks. So whatever is coming from here

  299. is normally tucked in here. And here is Isaiah.

  300. He says, I'm a man of unclean lips.

  301. I wonder in your life today, don't shout it out.

  302. That'd be kind of weird at church.

  303. But what's unclean in your life? What is the thing that's

  304. unclean? Are you lying?

  305. Are you into? Pornography.

  306. Are you doing drugs? You're getting drunk all the

  307. time to. Escape from the pain.

  308. And the reality of your own life.

  309. What's unclean? Isaiah dealt with the specific

  310. thing that was unclean in his life.

  311. What? Why did he say I'm a man of.

  312. Unclean lips, that was his. First response.

  313. To the revelation of God, I'm a man of.

  314. Unclean lips. What he was saying was I can't

  315. go any further Lord, until you work on this area of my life and

  316. I truly believe this about mission is we can't go forward

  317. without confessing our sin and turning from our sin and.

  318. Being broken and repentant, leaning into Jesus and saying

  319. you're right and I'm wrong and I ask for your forgiveness.

  320. It's here in this spot that he has this vision of himself.

  321. And then one of the Seraphim notices flew to me having in

  322. his. Hand a live.

  323. Coal which he had taken with the tongs, and it says these words

  324. from the altar. And he touched my mouth and with

  325. it. And he said, behold, this has

  326. touched your lips, your iniquity is taken away and your sin is

  327. purged. Look at he saw the problem.

  328. God dealt with his problem out of the confession of his

  329. problem. There is no healing when you're

  330. hiding. What you're doing in the sight

  331. of God. And then the Lord touches his

  332. lips, oh, that God would touch our lips in these areas of our

  333. lives. And then he heard another voice,

  334. not just holy, holy, holy. He heard another voice.

  335. Whom shall I send and who will go for us?

  336. Now, a lot of times when it comes to this vision, it leads

  337. to the mission that God wants to send you on.

  338. God poses a question. Why did God pose the question?

  339. He is the one who has absolute authority.

  340. He's the one in complete control, and He has supreme

  341. strength. Why is God, the one who is all

  342. fishing sufficient asking this question so we could realize

  343. where we're at? And what God wants us to do.

  344. Why did God ask? Adam in the garden.

  345. Where are you? I think Adam's like hiding in

  346. the the fig bushes, like God doesn't see me right here.

  347. You think like God's like, oh, I wonder where he is.

  348. I created the garden. I made every plant.

  349. He's named them. And I named and numbered the

  350. stars and I've formed these planets and rivers and seas.

  351. And I wonder where Adam is. No, no, no.

  352. God wasn't like questioning where.

  353. Adam. What?

  354. It was a Revelation question. The revelation question was for

  355. Adam to realize where he was. Then listen to this question in

  356. that light. Whom shall I send?

  357. Who? Am I going to?

  358. Send God. Is a missionary God.

  359. The Father sent the Son, the Son sent the Spirit, and the Spirit

  360. sends the Church. God is a missionary God.

  361. He sends people to reach. People now some of you are

  362. wondering now. I'm saved in Jesus.

  363. Why didn't God just Take Me Home?

  364. That would have been a lot easier, right?

  365. To live with Saints. Above that would be glory to

  366. dwell with the Saints. Below, that's a whole nother

  367. story. Why didn't God just Take Me

  368. Home? He saved me.

  369. Why? Because He saved you for a

  370. purpose. And on purpose.

  371. People reach people. Through the Spirit of God and.

  372. This is where the mission sends us is it sends us to people.

  373. Now I know you're thinking. Man, I love my dog.

  374. I don't like people. I don't like what happens on the

  375. California highways, byways and freeways.

  376. I don't want to be a part of this.

  377. Listen, God. Uses people to reach.

  378. People you might. I don't know.

  379. No. God wants to use you.

  380. I was just at Stacks in Glendora.

  381. You ever been to Stacks? Thank you.

  382. Thank you. Stacks is a breakfast restaurant

  383. right over here and in Glendora. And I go there with my wife on a

  384. date every Monday because that's hard time to have date day.

  385. And we get away and we go work out together and then we go have

  386. oatmeal together because we're getting older and we can't eat

  387. other foods. And so now because of that,

  388. we've gotten to know a lot of the servers, the owner, the

  389. manager of the restaurant, and there's this girl she's serving

  390. us. Her name's Hannah and I'm just

  391. thinking, OK, Lord, can you give me an opportunity to reach

  392. people? I had the opportunity at the, on

  393. that morning to, I saw some Highway Patrol officers eating

  394. breakfast in the corner. And, and I just, I, I, I went

  395. and bought their breakfast and I gave them a no strings attached

  396. card. And I just said, I want you to

  397. know I support law enforcement and we support you and we're

  398. praying for your safety in the name of Jesus.

  399. And Jesus loves you. And these three women were like,

  400. what, three officers? Wow, thank you.

  401. So I'm like, OK, Lord, who's the next?

  402. So I'm telling this is our server about one of our girls

  403. here at church named Lindsay, how she just met this great guy

  404. and she has a great relationship.

  405. And we're just so excited for her because she asked how

  406. Lindsay was doing and she said, I wish I had a boyfriend.

  407. And my wife and I just kind of like.

  408. What? And then she says to us, she

  409. said, yeah, my boyfriend died. Like, really?

  410. I said, how old is was he said 35?

  411. What did he die of? He died of sepsis from a tooth

  412. infection. And I said to her when she came

  413. back because she went on break, I said, can you go track down

  414. Hannah for me? I asked one of the guys.

  415. I said please, let's pray for her and we're seated right by

  416. the kitchen and right by the restroom.

  417. It's like it's super popular area, the restroom.

  418. And my wife says right here, so right here, right now, right

  419. right now, we need to do this right now.

  420. Hannah comes up just like a little tentative and like, can I

  421. pray for you? We lay our hands on her and we

  422. just weep with her. We just wept with her and we

  423. prayed in the name of Jesus for the glory of Jesus and the honor

  424. of Jesus. And I think sometimes it doesn't

  425. take boldness to reach people. It takes our obedience to reach

  426. people. Some of us are looking like at

  427. evangelism, like that's radical. No, that's not radical.

  428. That's normal. That's normal Christianity.

  429. Read the book of Acts. It's just normal Christianity

  430. and it's what God moves. You to he moves.

  431. You to people because the Bible says.

  432. That, that, that. Isaiah said.

  433. Here am I. And then God said, I want you to

  434. go and I want you to go to this people that keep on hearing and

  435. do not understand, keep on seeing but do not perceive I

  436. put. This over my kids.

  437. Bedroom. No, I'm just kidding.

  438. That would be funny. Sometimes I'm.

  439. Parenting it feels. Like you're Isaiah, make their

  440. heart of this people dull in their ears heavy, and shut their

  441. eyes, lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears,

  442. and understand with their heart. And return to be healed.

  443. God sent Isaiah to people and like God sent Letty to Cambodia,

  444. Isabel to Africa. He sends you to Mexico.

  445. He sends you to the city streets of Glendora, Virginia.

  446. Linda, Ron, Rachel, Yolanda last night reached over 400 people

  447. with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Can you just?

  448. Remember this? Can you remember this?

  449. The faithfulness of the church is not measured by how many

  450. people fill these seats, but how many people are sent from these

  451. seats to reach people with the gospel of Jesus.

  452. It's about people. My daughter went to the hospital

  453. to deliver a baby. She went to a hospital there.

  454. At the hospital, they serve people.

  455. I've been into good hospitals and not so good hospitals.

  456. I've been around good doctors and not so good doctors.

  457. I've been around some joyful nurses and not so joyful nurses.

  458. I've been around people that work sometimes in the medical

  459. field and some are excited. About what they do.

  460. Some are not so excited about what they do because it's

  461. another person and they become another statistic.

  462. And that's what happens even in pastoral work, even in you who

  463. are called to the ministry. It just becomes about the

  464. statistic rather than one person who is lost where Jesus would

  465. leave the 99 and run after that one person.

  466. I'm sure Jesus is not stupid sheep, that lamb.

  467. Why don't he go? No, no, no, he's.

  468. I'm sure he's weeping and expectant and finding the one

  469. and bringing that one back to himself.

  470. It's about people and that. People lead us to notice.

  471. This a motivation. What is the motivation of all of

  472. this? Why are we saying this and

  473. sharing what Letty's doing? What is the motivation?

  474. The motivation is love, the apostle Paul said in the book of

  475. Corinthians. He said it's the love of Christ

  476. that constrains me. It is the love of Christ.

  477. Notice this. The vision leads to the.

  478. Mission The mission lead to the motivation.

  479. So what does that all that mean for me?

  480. How do I live this out? How do I live this out in my

  481. junior high school? How do I live this out?

  482. I'm sorry, middle school? How do I live this out in my

  483. high school? How do I live this out in my

  484. college? How do I live this out in my?

  485. Neighborhood this is this. Is how I live it out.

  486. If you want to write something down, now is your time to write

  487. down. All right.

  488. This is what I should be doing write this.

  489. Down. I should have a love for the

  490. lost. I should have a love for the

  491. lost. I should begin to pray for the

  492. people around me that don't know.

  493. Jesus Matthew 28 Jesus told his disciples to go into.

  494. All the earth. And make disciples.

  495. It starts with a love for those who are lost.

  496. They're not the problem. My heart about them is the

  497. problem. Notice this if you're taking

  498. note intentionality and. Purpose is the way that God

  499. calls you to live. Intentionality and purpose is

  500. the way that God calls. You to live.

  501. And just remember that everything that happens in your

  502. life is not just an accident. They didn't just arrive you at a

  503. certain spot by accident. God's at work.

  504. And then remember this. We need to have reliance on the

  505. Holy Spirit. We have to have reliance on the

  506. Holy Spirit. You want to read about this,

  507. read in Acts chapter 13 when they fasted and prayed and they

    Acts 13 chapter mention

  508. sent Paul and Barnabas out into the fields and then write this

  509. down because this is so important.

  510. You need to have flexibility and adaptability, flexibility and

  511. adaptability, flexibility and adaptability.

  512. I was in Mexico as a 17 year old and we were serving.

  513. We'd driven about 3 hours South of the border and I was with a

  514. missionary by the name of Jeannie Sue, and she was

  515. disciple in young people to Jesus in Mexico.

  516. And these Mexican citizens had come into this church and they

  517. were on fire. They were singing at the top of

  518. their lungs, they were lifting their hands, they were praising

  519. the Lord. And it was quite different than

  520. what I experienced in San Bernardino, CA.

  521. Now, if you've ever been to San Bernardino, it's.

  522. You probably should. Take a trip there.

  523. It's one of the four known best places in California.

  524. That's where I grew up. It's a good spot, but it was

  525. different. There was more excitement and

  526. expectation in the room and I asked Jeannie, because she also

  527. came from that area. I asked her, I said what is the

  528. difference? She told me these words.

  529. She said here we have nothing, so Jesus is everything.

  530. She said in America we have everything, so Jesus is nothing.

  531. And I believe when it comes to the mission of God, some of us

  532. have settled for the crumbs falling from the table.

  533. So we're not really hungry for the real meal when it comes our

  534. way. And I want to challenge you

  535. today to take some cards with no strings attached.

  536. Just hand it to him. Pay for someone's coffee, pray

  537. over them, reach people for the glory of God.

  538. Amen. We hope you enjoyed this message

  539. and we'd love for you to join us in person every Sunday at 10:30

  540. AM. For more information and

  542. Thanks for tuning in and we'll see you next week.
