David: I don't know, I've been running around here like a chicken with

David: my head cut off.

David: It's like nothing works.

David: You can't.

David: You wouldn't think you'd need

David: much internet to make this

David: happen.

David: But, you know, we we do.

Brother Jim: And we should put a GoPro on you

Brother Jim: so people could follow you

Brother Jim: You probably got your ten thousand steps.

David: I'm running around here with a with a cellular MiFi trying to

David: get, you know, stuff working.

David: And, you know, of course we're out here in the sticks, so

David: nothing works out.

Brother Jim: Kind of reminds me of the old phone or commercial, you know?

Brother Jim: Can you hear me yet?

Brother Jim: Can you hear me?

Brother Jim: Do we have connection yet?

Brother Jim: Oh.

David: Other than that, I'm doing alright.

David: Uh, yeah, I got I got my first mo in the other day.

David: Ah, yeah.

David: On Saturday.

Brother Jim: Yes.

David: Yeah. It didn't really need it, but I had a bunch of debris and

David: stuff from the windstorm and a bunch of leaves.

David: I'm like, you know, I can mulch them up with the lawn mower.

David: So yeah.

Brother Jim: I got mine out and did the backyard.

Brother Jim: Nice trimming.

Brother Jim: Nice.

Brother Jim: You know, just getting it all even and cleaning up stuff.

Brother Jim: Yeah, I was out there Friday and I tell you, the wind, it was

Brother Jim: like, I need a hard hat out here because you could hear trees

Brother Jim: falling in the woods there.

Brother Jim: And, uh, I don't tell on me, but I had a little fire, you know,

Brother Jim: and it was like, cool.

Brother Jim: Don't worry.

Brother Jim: I was a volunteer firefighter.

Brother Jim: It's all under control.

David: Oh, a trained professional.

Brother Jim: Exactly.

Brother Jim: Had my bottle of water out there, I was ready.

Brother Jim: There you go.

Brother Jim: In case it got out of out of hand.

Brother Jim: Um. But no. Yeah, it was nice, but windy, man.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Crazy.

Brother Jim: Now, the question is, if I was in there, what I stopped eating

Brother Jim: my wings or just what it kept on going, roof or no roof.

David: I guess it depends on how much ruckus there was.

Brother Jim: I would still kept eating my wings.

Brother Jim: Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna finish my wings before I leave, you know?

Brother Jim: Yes, but how are we doing today?

Brother Jim: Ladies and gentlemen?

Brother Jim: Hopefully you're doing well.

Brother Jim: So that's been an ongoing joke between us for years.

Brother Jim: I think they originated from hell myself, but she, uh, tends

Brother Jim: to differ with me on that one, but, uh, yeah.

Brother Jim: Ham, scalloped potatoes.

Brother Jim: You know, people seem like they mix things up anymore.

Brother Jim: For meals, you know?

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Um, and if it's nice, good time

Brother Jim: to get out and do some

Brother Jim: barbecuing.

Brother Jim: You know.

David: In Easter's kind of late this year, so.

David: Yeah, it might be kind of nice.

Brother Jim: Yeah. Oh, yeah.

Brother Jim: The weather's nice, you know?

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Throw a little shrimp on the Barbie.

Brother Jim: You know.

Brother Jim: Why not?

Brother Jim: But let us know what you guys.

Brother Jim: What's your big Easter feast?

Brother Jim: What you got planned?

Brother Jim: You know, desserts are more in our family.

Brother Jim: There's a couple pies, but mainly more, uh, cakes, stuff

Brother Jim: like that, you know?

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Frosting.

Brother Jim: And, um, so yeah, a nice variety.

Brother Jim: That's the bad thing.

Brother Jim: Eat.

Brother Jim: And then you don't want dessert.

Brother Jim: You got.

David: It. Right.

Brother Jim: Yeah. You know, or to go as we talked the other day, it's good

Brother Jim: old to go containers.

Brother Jim: Uh, anymore though it's like we're always pushing food off.

Brother Jim: Take this home because we don't want.

David: It, right?

Brother Jim: I don't know about your family, but we always make way too much.

Brother Jim: Way too much.

David: Well, my kids don't.

David: My kids don't eat, and we don't usually host events, so we're

David: kind of good for now.

Brother Jim: So you're blessed with that?

David: I'm sure that'll change, but.

Brother Jim: Yes. But, uh, yes.

Brother Jim: So let us know.

Brother Jim: Make sure you get your Sunday Easter dress all ready.

Brother Jim: I gotta take my stuff to the dry cleaner so, you know, get it all

Brother Jim: ready to roll.

David: Yeah.

Brother Jim: So that is a cost, is it?

Brother Jim: Oh, yeah.

Brother Jim: Three suits.

Brother Jim: And even with the pastor discounts like sixty bucks.

David: That's awesome that they give a discount.

Brother Jim: It is midtown dry cleaner.

Brother Jim: Shout out to them.

Brother Jim: Best service and very friendly.

David: Yeah. Really?

Brother Jim: Yeah. It's actually a pretty nice discount, but had no idea

Brother Jim: about that until you get into the business and it's like, you

Brother Jim: gotta be kidding me.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: You know this much to get a suit dry cleaned.

David: I mean, you only need a suit for work, right?

David: So, I mean, there should be a line item in the budget there

David: for dry cleaning.

Brother Jim: I was thinking that.

Brother Jim: Yeah, yeah.

Brother Jim: And I had to get my hat pressed because it unfortunately, if you

Brother Jim: don't take care of your hats, they get a little weird.

Brother Jim: Whoa.

Brother Jim: Easy, baby.

Brother Jim: Easy.

Brother Jim: A little, uh, Wampee catechu wampee.

Brother Jim: You know you don't put it on.

Brother Jim: I bought one of them Styrofoam heads to put the hat on.

David: Okay.

Brother Jim: It's a dress hat, so.

Brother Jim: Yeah, yeah.

Brother Jim: But alrighty.

Brother Jim: Well, let's get going.

Brother Jim: Let us remember another sunrise,

Brother Jim: another chance to shine, a

Brother Jim: chance to show the world and

Brother Jim: everyone around that you are one

Brother Jim: special person that we have been

Brother Jim: blessed, including David,

Brother Jim: myself, and even little Miss Ida

Brother Jim: Lee here.

Brother Jim: So we are alive.

Brother Jim: And for many of us, we're doing pretty good, almost healthy.

Brother Jim: Seems like that's the case as you get older.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Could be worse.

Brother Jim: Could be better.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Somewhere in between.

Brother Jim: But even then.

Brother Jim: Excuse me guys, even then, we are blessed.

Brother Jim: So come on and join Mr. David and I as we say.

Brother Jim: Thank you, Lord, for another day

Brother Jim: here on this earth, which

Brother Jim: involves opportunity.

Brother Jim: Say that with me.

Brother Jim: Opportunity just waiting for you and I to make our mark.

Brother Jim: And again, as I have said, and I'll keep on saying, my friends,

Brother Jim: we've got work to do.

Brother Jim: Oh, we've got work to do.

Brother Jim: And allow me to remind you every morning.

Brother Jim: It's a beautiful morning if you allow it.

Brother Jim: Find that good in life and forget the bad.

Brother Jim: And, you know, as we say, everybody's got problems.

Brother Jim: And I tell you what seems like

Brother Jim: it just keeps getting worse and

Brother Jim: worse.

Brother Jim: David.

Brother Jim: Problems?

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: I mean, especially the medical side of it, people dealing with

Brother Jim: this, dealing with that.

Brother Jim: But we shall make it.

Brother Jim: And remember, you're not alone.

Brother Jim: Well, why?

Brother Jim: Because Jesus and Jesus alone rejoice that you are alive.

Brother Jim: Rejoice that you are free.

Brother Jim: And when you look in that mirror, remember.

Brother Jim: Remember, my friends, you are beautiful too.

Brother Jim: No matter what the world says, forget the world.

Brother Jim: Are you of the world?

Brother Jim: Are you in the world or are you of Jesus?

Brother Jim: And don't forget most of all, oh my goodness, you are loved.

Brother Jim: Now our humor of the day are an eccentric philosophy professor.

Brother Jim: That's a big word right there.

Brother Jim: Gave a one question final exam after a semester dealing with a

Brother Jim: broad array of topics.

Brother Jim: The class was already seated and ready to go when the professor

Brother Jim: picked up his chair, plopped it in on his desk, and wrote on the

Brother Jim: board, using everything we have learned this semester, prove

Brother Jim: that the chair does not exist.

Brother Jim: Fingers flew, erasers erase,

Brother Jim: notebooks were filled and

Brother Jim: furious fashion.

Brother Jim: Some students wrote over thirty

Brother Jim: pages in one hour attempting to

Brother Jim: describe the existence of the

Brother Jim: chair.

Brother Jim: One member of the class, however, was up and finished in

Brother Jim: less than a minute.

Brother Jim: Weeks later, when the grades were posted, the rest of the

Brother Jim: group wondered how he could have gotten an A when he had barely

Brother Jim: written anything at all.

Brother Jim: His answer consisted of two words.

Brother Jim: What chair?

Brother Jim: I thought that was pretty good.

David: Yeah. It's good.

Brother Jim: All right.

Brother Jim: Our thought of the day.

Brother Jim: It was pride that changed angels into devils.

Brother Jim: It is humility that makes men as angels.

Brother Jim: All right.

Brother Jim: Humility, big word.

Brother Jim: David, humility.

Brother Jim: And as we've been talking about

Brother Jim: on our Sunday morning series,

Brother Jim: The Woes of the Pharisees, we've

Brother Jim: been talking about hypocrites,

Brother Jim: the Pharisees, their

Brother Jim: understanding.

Brother Jim: They knew the law, but they sure

Brother Jim: didn't live it in their own

Brother Jim: life.

Brother Jim: And that's where humility comes in.

Brother Jim: So let me ask you something, my friends, right off the bat, what

Brother Jim: does humility mean to you?

Brother Jim: Now, humility is one of the most beautiful yet challenging

Brother Jim: virtues in the Christian life and a world that often tells us

Brother Jim: to promote ourselves.

Brother Jim: And oh baby, it does get on

Brother Jim: social media and it's me, me,

Brother Jim: me.

Brother Jim: Defend our pride and seek recognition.

Brother Jim: God calls us to a different path.

Brother Jim: Yes he does.

Brother Jim: The path of humility.

Brother Jim: Say that word with me.

Brother Jim: Humility.

Brother Jim: In Philippians two verse three, the apostle Paul writes, do

Brother Jim: nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit.

Brother Jim: Rather, in humility, value others above yourself.

Brother Jim: Now, David, that's a tough one to do in this world, isn't it?

David: Yeah.

Brother Jim: We kind of promote that as a society, do we not?

David: We do.

Brother Jim: And I'm sure it's been there forever.

Brother Jim: But I think with technology not

Brother Jim: bashing it, but it has opened

Brother Jim: the floodgates.

David: Certainly enhanced that.

Brother Jim: Yes. To I mean, all you got to do is get on social media and

Brother Jim: wow, wow wow.

David: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Now you might be saying, well, Brother Jim, Dave, what are you

Brother Jim: guys doing here?

Brother Jim: No, we're trying to promote something a little different.

Brother Jim: We're not promoting ourselves.

Brother Jim: Now we're part of it.

Brother Jim: But we're trying to fulfill a

Brother Jim: calling here to bring something

Brother Jim: for our fans, our audience to

Brother Jim: listen to, to challenge them

Brother Jim: with humor.

Brother Jim: Dave and Jim, humor to be more.

Brother Jim: But you know, it's not about us.

Brother Jim: And that is one thing I've really come to in my life.

Brother Jim: Understand.

Brother Jim: It's not about me.

Brother Jim: It's about the kingdom.

Brother Jim: It's about building the kingdom up, and that's where we need to

Brother Jim: always keep that in check.

Brother Jim: And that's where that good old dose of humility from time to

Brother Jim: time comes in.

Brother Jim: You ever been humbled, David?

David: Oh, plenty of times, for sure.

Brother Jim: Yeah. And how we react depends on the person.

Brother Jim: True.

David: It does.

David: Yeah.

Brother Jim: You can take it with a grain of salt and say, yeah, I was wrong.

Brother Jim: Or I now see the light.

Brother Jim: Or you can sit there and argue

Brother Jim: and argue and argue and not

Brother Jim: admit to yourself that, yeah,

Brother Jim: maybe I was doing it for

Brother Jim: ulterior motives.

David: Yeah.

Brother Jim: I think that's just a good rule in life with anything you do.

Brother Jim: Why are you really doing it?

Brother Jim: Check yourself.

Brother Jim: You know, before we go off in a new adventure.

Brother Jim: Why am I doing this?

Brother Jim: Especially on the Christian side, especially representing

Brother Jim: the church, representing God.

Brother Jim: Who's gaining from this, if you will.

Brother Jim: Humility, value others above yourself.

Brother Jim: A humility begins when we stop focusing on ourselves and start

Brother Jim: caring deeply about others.

Brother Jim: And again, I'm not going to bash the world.

Brother Jim: Uh, it's just being honest.

Brother Jim: There is good and there is bad.

Brother Jim: There always has been.

Brother Jim: You have people who go out of their way.

Brother Jim: As the old saying goes, they give you their shirt off their

Brother Jim: back and you got some would take your shirt, steal it, and then

Brother Jim: put it on eBay or marketplace and try to make a buck.

Brother Jim: That's just the world we live in.

Brother Jim: But the greatest example of humility is Jesus Christ.

Brother Jim: Though he is the Son of God.

Brother Jim: Jesus chose to serve rather than be served.

Brother Jim: He washed the feet of his

Brother Jim: disciples, welcomed the lowly,

Brother Jim: the lost, the outcast, and

Brother Jim: ultimately gave his life for all

Brother Jim: humanity.

Brother Jim: His life teaches us that humility is not weakness.

Brother Jim: No, no, no. It is strength under control and love in action.

Brother Jim: And I like that, David.

Brother Jim: Strength under control.

Brother Jim: It's very easy to lose control, is it not?

David: Oh for sure.

Brother Jim: How about you guys out there listening in?

Brother Jim: You ever lose control?

Brother Jim: I think that's just part of

Brother Jim: being a man or a woman or a

Brother Jim: child.

David: It happens.

Brother Jim: In control, and the more we get ourselves under control, the

Brother Jim: better off we are, especially in our Christian walk.

Brother Jim: True, because again, who's living in you?

Brother Jim: If we go back to the old cup now again clean.

Brother Jim: But inside.

Brother Jim: This morning I got my trash in there.

Brother Jim: A bunch of funk, a bunch of junk.

Brother Jim: And where is my humility?

Brother Jim: And we're going to talk about integrity next week.

Brother Jim: Offer somebody something.

Brother Jim: And, uh, that that's something you raised, David.

David: Yeah. Sorry.

David: Your audio was cutting out, so I

David: was fiddling with some stuff

David: over here.

David: Oh. You're good.

David: Yeah, I think it has a lot to do with how we were raised.

David: You said.

David: Yeah.

David: Yeah, I think so.

Brother Jim: Examples by our parents.

Brother Jim: Our grandparents.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Those mentors in our life.

Brother Jim: Because if a child to me, if

Brother Jim: they're not raised, if they

Brother Jim: don't have an example of seeing

Brother Jim: why, you know, that person gets

Brother Jim: the biggest piece of cake

Brother Jim: instead of herself, they're

Brother Jim: always going to want the biggest

Brother Jim: cake, right?

Brother Jim: I think that's just human nature.

Brother Jim: You know, we want, we want, we want.

Brother Jim: And, uh, you know, would I be willing if I got a twenty two

Brother Jim: ounce ribeye in here?

Brother Jim: Would I be willing to split it with David?

Brother Jim: Ah, now the pressure's on.

Brother Jim: Yes, yes, I would.

Brother Jim: Would I give David the best piece?

Brother Jim: Yeah I would so again, you know, food is easy.

Brother Jim: Well, for most people, but for

Brother Jim: some people my wife, she does

Brother Jim: not share.

Brother Jim: But you know what I mean.

Brother Jim: What what do we give?

Brother Jim: Uh, so start thinking about humility.

Brother Jim: It's not a weakness.

Brother Jim: It's a strength under control in love and action.

Brother Jim: Humility also reminds you and I that everything we have comes

Brother Jim: from God and how true that is.

Brother Jim: Again, I think that's something we've lost.

Brother Jim: It all comes from God.

Brother Jim: We work hard, we earn it, but it comes from God.

Brother Jim: Our blessings, our talents, our

Brother Jim: opportunities and achievements,

Brother Jim: our gifts.

Brother Jim: And when we recognize this pride, yes, good old pride fades

Brother Jim: and gratitude grows.

Brother Jim: Think about that.

Brother Jim: Pride fades and gratitude grows.

Brother Jim: And finally, humility brings us closer to God.

Brother Jim: And James four ten, we're told, humble yourselves before the

Brother Jim: Lord, and he will lift you up.

Brother Jim: When we lower ourselves before God, he raises us.

Brother Jim: He raises you and I in ways that truly matter.

Brother Jim: So there's a self check right there.

Brother Jim: What truly matters in your life?

Brother Jim: Check out Sunday morning service.

Brother Jim: Is your heart, your soul aligned with God?

Brother Jim: And I reference to your car.

Brother Jim: If it's out of alignment, what happens?

Brother Jim: You're going to be eating up

Brother Jim: So the question is, do you go cheap and just throw on some

Brother Jim: twenty dollars Tires.

Brother Jim: Or do you bite the bullet and get yourself a line.

Brother Jim: Get that vehicle aligned so you are traveling straight.

Brother Jim: Not doing more damage.

Brother Jim: So today let us choose humility

Brother Jim: to listen more, serve more and

Brother Jim: love more.

Brother Jim: For in God's kingdom, the humble are the ones who are truly,

Brother Jim: truly, truly great.

Brother Jim: So let me ask you a challenge.

Brother Jim: What can you do today?

Brother Jim: One thing this week, let's just say this week that you can show

Brother Jim: humility and serve someone else.

Brother Jim: There's a challenge.

Brother Jim: Let us know, please.

Brother Jim: That goes for David and myself.

Brother Jim: We'll try to do something there that humbles ourselves but also

Brother Jim: serves somebody else.

Brother Jim: Now, it doesn't have to be writing a check for one thousand

Brother Jim: dollars, unless you'd like to donate to Bible bibs in a prayer

Brother Jim: or, you know, gift us with some serious T-Bone steaks or, you

Brother Jim: know, Tomahawk or, you know, whatever, whatever you felt led

David: However the spirit leads you.

Brother Jim: feeling down, it'll definitely lift your spirits.

David: And lately I've been being humbled by the equipment here.

David: It's like, how do you react, right?

David: You can you can either, you know, get all mad and bent out

David: of shape or you can just like, oh, well, hey, you folks can't

David: see right now, but he's getting the equipment to the equipment

David: adjuster out the equalizer.

David: But David.
