-
Brother Jim: and maybe something to munch on.

-
Brother Jim: And let us clear our minds.
-
Brother Jim: And you know what?
-
Brother Jim: If you're anything like me,
-
Brother Jim: clear in your mind does not take
-
Brother Jim: too long.
-
Brother Jim: Not a whole lot up there to clean up.
-
Brother Jim: David.
-
David: I feel you.
-
Brother Jim: Yep. Speaking of that.
-
Brother Jim: Hey, folks, why do fathers take
-
Brother Jim: an extra pair of socks when they
-
Brother Jim: go golfing?
-
Brother Jim: And I thought of you.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, in case they get a hole in one.
-
David: That was bad.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, what do you expect?
-
Brother Jim: It's the late night edition, so we're kind of struggling here.
-
Brother Jim: We're popping energy drinks and everything else.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, just trying to keep it going for the for the fans, David.
-
Brother Jim: For the fans.
-
Brother Jim: Oh. Can't forget.
-
Brother Jim: Got little Ida Lee here with us.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Little Ida Lee and David word out on the street is we're
-
Brother Jim: getting a chicken.
-
Brother Jim: Is that right?
-
Brother Jim: We're getting a chicken.
-
Brother Jim: Yes.
-
Brother Jim: Well, we're waiting on the chicken.
-
Brother Jim: Lord, I hope it's not live.
-
Brother Jim: We might have a problem.
-
Brother Jim: Hopefully it's deep fried.
-
Brother Jim: Oh, there you go.
-
Brother Jim: There you go.
-
Brother Jim: Little deep fried chicken.
-
Brother Jim: Man, that sounds good right now.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, that'd be a nice little snack.
-
Brother Jim: Especially little dark meat.
-
Brother Jim: Yes.
-
Brother Jim: Dark meat.
-
Brother Jim: Dark night.
-
Brother Jim: Late night.
-
Brother Jim: Ah, I'm gonna stop there.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: So I'm saying all that.
-
Brother Jim: Good morning, good evening, good afternoon.
-
Brother Jim: Whatever.
-
Brother Jim: Whatever time period you are watching us.
-
Brother Jim: Good morning friends.
-
Brother Jim: Good morning world.
-
Brother Jim: Let you and I thank God for another day.
-
Brother Jim: We don't have to set the alarm
-
Brother Jim: for because we're already awake
-
Brother Jim: and blessed.
-
Brother Jim: Welcome to Bible bibs and a prayer.
-
Brother Jim: I'm your host brother Jim, aka
-
Brother Jim: the Nacho Man by day, a pastor
-
Brother Jim: of Rockford Church and by night,
-
Brother Jim: a semi low budget professional
-
Brother Jim: wrestler.
-
Brother Jim: That's what I'm going with.
-
Brother Jim: Welcome to the show.
-
Brother Jim: Let's turn this from a conversation into an experience.
-
Brother Jim: And I gotta say, I got my the nacho.
-
Brother Jim: The nacho man got his bubble busted already.
-
Brother Jim: David.
-
Brother Jim: Oh, yeah.
-
Brother Jim: I thought he was going to get to make a return appearance, uh,
-
Brother Jim: this Friday night.
-
Brother Jim: But apparently the Nacho man was
-
Brother Jim: only for the grand opening of
-
Brother Jim: his abilities.
-
Brother Jim: Oh, man, I know.
-
Brother Jim: And I already had a surprise tag team lined up the dumpster
-
Brother Jim: divers trash cans, and I was looking for a good aluminum so I
-
Brother Jim: could take a headshot.
-
Brother Jim: You know, those ones at CVS?
-
Brother Jim: Uh, and I even got my little chair.
-
Brother Jim: God bless.
-
Brother Jim: Todd.
-
Brother Jim: Wow.
-
Brother Jim: He brought the little chair I gave him back.
-
Brother Jim: It was all busted up.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: I'm not sure what he was going to do with it anyway.
-
Brother Jim: So, uh, maybe, just maybe, you'll get to see the Nacho Man
-
Brother Jim: in action sometime.
-
Brother Jim: But, hey, let's turn this in
-
Brother Jim: from a conversation into an
-
Brother Jim: experience.
-
Brother Jim: If you're like David and I, oh
-
Brother Jim: Lord, we got some experiences
-
Brother Jim: and we're going to stop it on
-
Brother Jim: that one.
-
Brother Jim: And now the moment you've all been waiting for.
-
Brother Jim: Behind every great host is a co-host, making sure things do
-
Brother Jim: not fall apart.
-
Brother Jim: And as I've said before, mine has been working overtime.
-
Brother Jim: Literally.
-
Brother Jim: Please welcome a man among men.
-
Brother Jim: A face that only a mother could love.
-
Brother Jim: Joining me today is someone with an impressive resume.
-
Brother Jim: Professional snack critic, part
-
Brother Jim: time genius, and full time chaos
-
Brother Jim: coordinator.
-
Brother Jim: The one.
-
Brother Jim: The only, Mr. David Keener.
-
Brother Jim: Plus one of my very best friends.
-
Brother Jim: Good morning, good evening, good afternoon, whatever it is.
-
Brother Jim: Whatever.
-
Speaker 4: You flatter me, sir.
-
Speaker 4: Thank you.
-
Brother Jim: Did you like that new intro I did?
-
Speaker 4: That was quite a mouthful.
-
Brother Jim: Yes. Snack critic.
-
Brother Jim: I forget what I said here, but I'm like, yeah, you're not.
-
Speaker 4: You're not wrong.
-
Brother Jim: We critique enough food around here?
-
Speaker 4: That's right.
-
Brother Jim: Maybe that'd be our second calling.
-
Brother Jim: Professional food critic.
-
Speaker 4: I can get behind that.
-
Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Even if we don't get paid and
-
Brother Jim: just get a free meal, that would
-
Brother Jim: be.
-
Speaker 4: I'm still good with that.
-
Speaker 4: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah. Yes. So what is going on in Kanesville?
-
Speaker 4: Oh, you know, not too much.
-
Speaker 4: The weather has.
-
Speaker 4: It was great there this over the weekend.
-
Speaker 4: Man eighty five.
-
Speaker 4: I think I saw one day was outside was great.
-
Speaker 4: Yeah.
-
Speaker 4: And then the bottom fell out was the end of it.
-
Brother Jim: I'm like, uh, unfortunately I was doing a funeral this week
-
Brother Jim: and, uh, yeah, we're out there.
-
Brother Jim: I got snow coming in on me and, and I told the funeral director
-
Brother Jim: the night before calling.
-
Brother Jim: I said, hey, make sure the air
-
Brother Jim: is on in the morning because,
-
Brother Jim: you know, Sunday was like eighty
-
Brother Jim: some.
-
Brother Jim: And I'm thinking, oh, it's going to be hot.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: So yeah, I didn't have to worry about the AC.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Speaker 4: Now did you guys get any hail out here over the.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, I was up here, uh.
-
Brother Jim: Sunday night.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: And it was crazy.
-
Brother Jim: Like freaky Crazy.
-
Speaker 4: Yeah. We got.
-
Speaker 4: I don't know what size they were.
-
Speaker 4: They were kind of like pebble sized.
-
Speaker 4: They weren't anything super insane, but.
-
Brother Jim: And the thunder.
-
Brother Jim: Oh my goodness.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: It was some serious thunder and I wasn't.
-
Brother Jim: Outside looking.
-
Brother Jim: So I don't know if there was lightning or anything.
-
Speaker 4: I saw some lightning for sure.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah. And it was funny.
-
Brother Jim: Our daughter Ellie, the thirteen year old.
-
Brother Jim: My wife asked her.
-
Brother Jim: Hey, did you hear that storm?
-
Brother Jim: Uh. What storm?
-
Brother Jim: Slept right through it.
-
Brother Jim: I'm like, uh, that's a great thing about being a teenager.
-
Brother Jim: You can sleep right through it.
-
Speaker 4: Absolutely.
-
Brother Jim: Yes. And when you get old, you hear everything.
-
Brother Jim: You gotta get up and pee every.
-
Brother Jim: Or go to the bathroom, I should say, every two hours.
-
Brother Jim: So, uh.
-
Brother Jim: But what?
-
Brother Jim: Have a good weekend.
-
Speaker 4: I did, I did, we enjoyed it and yes.
-
Speaker 4: And the baby turned three over.
-
Brother Jim: That's right.
-
Speaker 4: On Monday.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah. My birthday.
-
Speaker 4: Cake. So I'm working through some of that still.
-
Speaker 4: So if anybody needs a birthday cake, I can help you out.
-
Speaker 4: Just look me up and we'll get you some.
-
Brother Jim: What time are we talking here?
-
Speaker 4: I know it's a Walmart cake, but this one first.
-
Speaker 4: They wanted construction stuff
-
Speaker 4: because he's in the construction
-
Speaker 4: stuff.
-
Speaker 4: but for the dirt along the edges, what they did was they
-
Speaker 4: have like, you know, they shave that chocolate and it gets kind
-
Speaker 4: of like curly.
-
Brother Jim: Oh, yeah.
-
Speaker 4: I wasn't expecting that.
-
Speaker 4: That was really good.
-
Brother Jim: Oh. So yeah.
-
Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm digging that.
-
Brother Jim: But yeah, no, I'd never I know what you're talking about, but
-
Brother Jim: I've never tasted it.
-
Speaker 4: Yeah. It's really crunchy and good.
-
Speaker 4: Yeah.
-
Speaker 4: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Preach it, preach it brother.
-
Brother Jim: Keep it going.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, but yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, crazy with the weekend barbecue, honey.
-
Speaker 4: Uh, I did, I did Monday night.
-
Speaker 4: I did, uh, some grilled cheese sandwiches on the, on the.
-
Brother Jim: You do that a lot.
-
Brother Jim: The grilled.
-
Speaker 4: Cheese. Yeah. We get that big Italian bread, the big thick one
-
Speaker 4: inch bread, and it's really like six minutes done.
-
Speaker 4: You can do a whole thing of them in six minutes.
-
Brother Jim: Now here's a question for you.
-
Brother Jim: Do you put mayonnaise on your toasted cheese?
-
Speaker 4: I do.
-
Speaker 4: So do I because that's what the restaurants do.
-
Brother Jim: Ah.
-
Speaker 4: And I can't convince my wife.
-
Speaker 4: My wife doesn't like it.
-
Speaker 4: And I've done I've done it.
-
Speaker 4: Not told her.
-
Speaker 4: Ah, she hasn't noticed the difference.
-
Speaker 4: But yeah, yeah, I do the mayonnaise.
-
Speaker 4: I haven't tried it on the
-
Speaker 4: griddle yet because I don't want
-
Speaker 4: it to.
-
Speaker 4: Right, mess the seasoning up on it.
-
Speaker 4: But yeah, I've done that.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah. And I'm a miracle whip guy.
-
Brother Jim: Miracle whip light.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: That that is my.
-
Speaker 4: I'm a Hellmann's guy.
-
Brother Jim: See, I never got into Hellmann's, but oh man on that.
-
Brother Jim: And Carrie thinks I'm crazy, but
-
Brother Jim: it's like, oh, that mayonnaise
-
Brother Jim: right there with that nice
-
Brother Jim: cheese.
-
Brother Jim: And.
-
Brother Jim: Oh it is.
-
Speaker 4: Yep.
-
Brother Jim: Yes. We went out to, uh oh, the Italian place there.
-
Brother Jim: I can never think of it in New Philly.
-
Speaker 4: Uh, uncle Primo's, Uncle Primo.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Shout out to our waitress.
-
Brother Jim: She was awesome, but I was kind of a little irritated.
-
Brother Jim: David, we walk in and we were early, like at four thirty.
-
Brother Jim: Can you see this for three?
-
Brother Jim: Well, if you're done in an hour, you can.
-
Speaker 4: What?
-
Brother Jim: What do when do we start the the countdown?
-
Brother Jim: You know, is this starting now or when we get the.
-
Speaker 4: Order.
-
Brother Jim: And I'm like, and I swear.
-
Brother Jim: In our waitress.
-
Brother Jim: She was awesome.
-
Brother Jim: She's like, don't worry about that.
-
Brother Jim: You know, take your time, eat.
-
Brother Jim: But there was this one very nice
-
Brother Jim: young lady who was kind of tall,
-
Brother Jim: and it's like she kept giving me
-
Brother Jim: the eye to see if I was
-
Brother Jim: finishing up.
-
Brother Jim: And I'm like, this is getting a little freaky.
-
Brother Jim: I mean, what happens if we hit and we made it?
-
Brother Jim: We had like three minutes to
-
Brother Jim: spare and it's like, what
-
Brother Jim: happened?
-
Brother Jim: What would happen if we didn't make the hour?
-
Brother Jim: David.
-
Brother Jim: I mean, are they going to take us out back?
-
Brother Jim: And, uh.
-
Speaker 4: That's a good question, I don't know.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah. So again, the food was good.
-
Brother Jim: It was just a little weird that, well, if you can eat in less
-
Brother Jim: than an hour, we'll see you.
-
Speaker 4: Okay. That's a little different.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah. So, hey, it takes all
-
Brother Jim: kinds to make the world go
-
Brother Jim: round.
-
Speaker 4: Yep.
-
Brother Jim: That's right.
-
Brother Jim: But again, it was a good service and the food was really good.
-
Brother Jim: So just a little weird.
-
Speaker 4: Now what did you what did you get there?
-
Brother Jim: I got the the lasagna platter.
-
Speaker 4: That's good.
-
Brother Jim: That came with three different
-
Brother Jim: pastas and I wanted to try the
-
Brother Jim: Wagyu burger.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, I was really debating about that.
-
Brother Jim: But I hadn't had anything to eat in my.
-
Brother Jim: Of course, my stomach's bigger than.
-
Brother Jim: Or my eyes are bigger than my stomach.
-
Brother Jim: And I was thinking of quantity.
-
Brother Jim: David.
-
Brother Jim: Instead of quality, which still was great.
-
Brother Jim: But yes.
-
Brother Jim: So now Carrie and Ellie got their blueberry cheesecake.
-
Speaker 4: I can't remember that or not.
-
Brother Jim: I was allowed a very small,
-
Brother Jim: small bite and Ellie even on the
-
Brother Jim: last bite.
-
Brother Jim: And it was a big one.
-
Brother Jim: Says here, dad, I'll give it to you.
-
Speaker 4: Psych!
-
Speaker 4: Psych!
-
Speaker 4: Oh.
-
Brother Jim: I'll say.
-
Brother Jim: Uh. Oh, they're on a corner.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, in New Philly.
-
Brother Jim: Cattywampus from, uh, the courthouse.
-
Speaker 4: Uh, Gavin's.
-
Brother Jim: Gavin's that owner.
-
Brother Jim: He'll make a cheesecake.
-
Brother Jim: Blueberry cheesecake from scratch.
-
Speaker 4: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Oh.
-
Speaker 4: Good.
-
Brother Jim: He doesn't do it, from what I understand a lot.
-
Brother Jim: But, man, it was a little piece
-
Brother Jim: of heaven in your mouth,
-
Brother Jim: brother.
-
Brother Jim: It was good.
-
Brother Jim: And to me, cheesecake.
-
Brother Jim: You know I even Walmart cheesecake, you know.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: I'll eat it.
-
Brother Jim: Right.
-
Brother Jim: But this was like, uh.
-
Brother Jim: Oh, we might have to go for a second piece on this one.
-
Speaker 4: They've got a chicken.
-
Speaker 4: Is it a chicken parm?
-
Speaker 4: They got a chicken parm sandwich.
-
Speaker 4: I think it's got some kind of
-
Speaker 4: creamy parmesan, uh, sauce on
-
Speaker 4: it.
-
Speaker 4: Oh yeah.
-
Speaker 4: It's probably one of the best
-
Speaker 4: chicken sandwiches I've ever
-
Speaker 4: had.
-
Brother Jim: And where's this one at?
-
Speaker 4: At Gavyn's.
-
Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, they used to have the Gavin.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, pasta.
-
Brother Jim: Oh, Gavin.
-
Brother Jim: And it was phenomenal.
-
Brother Jim: But they didn't get enough orders in because it was kind of
-
Brother Jim: expensive to make.
-
Brother Jim: But, but again, man, it's like nothing.
-
Brother Jim: I'm made of money or anything,
-
Brother Jim: but I'm willing to pay pay a
-
Brother Jim: little bit more for something
-
Brother Jim: that's good.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: You know, that just melts in your mouth.
-
Brother Jim: So as you can see, our friends that we just, we could talk
-
Brother Jim: about food all day.
-
Speaker 4: We are connoisseurs.
-
Brother Jim: Yes we are, yes we are.
-
Brother Jim: But, uh, again, we are so glad
-
Brother Jim: to have you here on the late
-
Brother Jim: night edition.
-
Brother Jim: And, uh, man, too bad we couldn't do Collins.
-
Brother Jim: David.
-
Brother Jim: That would be kind of cool.
-
Speaker 4: Tell you what.
-
Speaker 4: If we ever get a little more powerful internet out here, we
-
Speaker 4: could do these things live now and then and take, take, take
-
Speaker 4: chats, take calls.
-
Brother Jim: That would be the bomb.
-
Speaker 4: We could do it.
-
Brother Jim: Oh my goodness.
-
Brother Jim: Of course.
-
Brother Jim: Are we prepared to take the calls?
-
Speaker 4: We might need a call screener, call screener and a delay.
-
Brother Jim: Oh yeah.
-
Brother Jim: And I don't want my facial expressions shown on that one.
-
Brother Jim: Like what?
-
Brother Jim: Or, uh.
-
Brother Jim: Okay.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, you know what?
-
Brother Jim: That'd be a great job for Peg Abraham.
-
Brother Jim: Good morning, good afternoon, good evening Peg.
-
Brother Jim: Can't wait to get you back, but that would be a good one for her
-
Brother Jim: because she's kind of a straight on kind of gal.
-
Brother Jim: I like that no no no no nonsense.
-
Brother Jim: Yes.
-
Brother Jim: And she would take care of us too.
-
Brother Jim: I believe so, but, uh, you come
-
Brother Jim: across any good dad jokes
-
Brother Jim: lately?
-
Brother Jim: I'll give you a minute here.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, I put put him right on the spot.
-
Speaker 4: You know, I keep seeing all these great ones online.
-
Speaker 4: I'm like, yeah, I gotta remember that one.
-
Speaker 4: And then, and then I sit down here and just I draw a blank.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, yeah.
-
Speaker 4: But, uh, did you did you ever wonder why the Rolling Stones
-
Speaker 4: stopped making music?
-
Speaker 4: No, because they got to the bottom of the hill.
-
Brother Jim: I'm gonna agree on that one.
-
Brother Jim: Not a big Rolling Stones fan to begin with.
-
Brother Jim: No.
-
Brother Jim: Yes.
-
Brother Jim: Even on their looks.
-
Brother Jim: Mick Jagger, man.
-
Speaker 4: He's been around.
-
Brother Jim: Yes. Speaking of that, let us take a moment to remember a
-
Brother Jim: great American actor, great American, just all around guy.
-
Brother Jim: And most of all, man of God, the late Chuck Norris.
-
Brother Jim: Yes, yes.
-
Brother Jim: I mean.
-
Speaker 4: What a loss.
-
Brother Jim: Yes. What a good guy.
-
Brother Jim: But man, his.
-
Speaker 4: I heard no, it hasn't been
-
Speaker 4: proven, but I heard he didn't
-
Speaker 4: die.
-
Speaker 4: Rather, he allowed death to take him home for free.
-
Brother Jim: There you go.
-
Brother Jim: There you go.
-
Speaker 4: I believe all the famous Chuck Norris memes.
-
Brother Jim: Those are so great.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah. Uh, what was one about gravity?
-
Brother Jim: You know, when he does push ups,
-
Brother Jim: you know, it's like, I can't
-
Brother Jim: remember, but it was like, oh,
-
Brother Jim: wow, we've even went with that
-
Brother Jim: one.
-
Brother Jim: But yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Chuck Norris, you know, but yeah, oh, so many from the
-
Brother Jim: eighties, the seventies, Chuck Norris movies and of course,
-
Brother Jim: Texas Walker, you know, that was what a Little Thunder, little
-
Brother Jim: lightning was one of the things, you know, he.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: But yeah, but no, just, uh, just a good dude.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Never bought into that Hollywood nonsense that I know of.
-
Brother Jim: And, but he was here at the end especially was very, uh,
-
Brother Jim: outspoken about his faith.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: So yeah, we lost a good one there.
-
Brother Jim: All right, my friends, another, uh, sunrise, another sunset,
-
Brother Jim: another chance to shine.
-
Brother Jim: Whoa.
-
Brother Jim: Excuse me.
-
Brother Jim: A chance to show the world and everyone around you that you are
-
Brother Jim: one special person.
-
Brother Jim: And we've been blessed.
-
Brother Jim: You, David, and myself, along
-
Brother Jim: with little Ida Lee here, let
-
Brother Jim: you and I thank God for another
-
Brother Jim: blessed day.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, you know, whether you're driving to work, you're coming
-
Brother Jim: home, starting your morning coffee or you're.
-
Brother Jim: We're just glad you're here with us.
-
Brother Jim: And, uh, you know what?
-
Brother Jim: We're still alive.
-
Brother Jim: We're still kicking.
-
Brother Jim: Even with the aches and pains, we're still blessed.
-
Brother Jim: So come on and join Mr. David and I as we say.
-
Brother Jim: Thank you, Lord, for another day of opportunity.
-
Brother Jim: And, uh, just waiting for you and I to make our mark.
-
Brother Jim: And maybe this day's coming to
-
Brother Jim: an end, and we've already made
-
Brother Jim: our mark.
-
Brother Jim: But guess what?
-
Brother Jim: You got another day starting tomorrow.
-
Brother Jim: So, uh, let's just keep rolling, shall we?
-
Brother Jim: Find that good in life and forget the bad.
-
Brother Jim: And you know what, my friends?
-
Brother Jim: You're not alone.
-
Brother Jim: And again, I'm glad you asked.
-
Brother Jim: Why?
-
Brother Jim: Because of Jesus, and Jesus alone rejoiced.
-
Brother Jim: You are alive.
-
Brother Jim: You are alive.
-
Brother Jim: And man.
-
Brother Jim: We've got it coming up here.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, Palm Sunday service.
-
Brother Jim: If you don't have a place to come worship.
-
Brother Jim: We all love to have you here at Rockford Church.
-
Brother Jim: Nine thirty a m Palm Sunday service this week and then next
-
Brother Jim: week, David, Easter service.
-
Brother Jim: We got sunrise.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, sunrise breakfast and, uh,
-
Brother Jim: and I never get to partake of
-
Brother Jim: that because I'm always busy
-
Brother Jim: getting ready.
-
Brother Jim: Kind of a bummer, you know?
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, and then our Easter service at nine thirty.
-
Brother Jim: So check us out on Facebook.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, I believe everything's on there, isn't it?
-
Speaker 4: Yeah. And we got the big Easter egg hunt Saturday before Easter.
-
Brother Jim: Egg hunt next Saturday at two pm, I believe.
-
Speaker 4: I think that's right.
-
Brother Jim: Yes. Now I think we do pretty good.
-
Brother Jim: Like what, five, seven thousand eggs?
-
Speaker 4: Something that's crazy.
-
Brother Jim: Down at organic church.
-
Brother Jim: God bless Pastor Michael and them.
-
Brother Jim: They do like twenty two, twenty three thousand.
-
Speaker 4: Oh, boy.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Speaker 4: True.
-
Brother Jim: Wow. Yeah. Kind of puts us to shame there.
-
Brother Jim: And it's like a little bit.
-
Brother Jim: But you know what?
-
Brother Jim: That's alright because I
-
Brother Jim: wouldn't want to fill that many
-
Brother Jim: eggs.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, I'm just.
-
Brother Jim: I can't imagine how much candy.
-
Brother Jim: You know, that's a lot of candy.
-
Brother Jim: Twenty three, twenty two, twenty three thousand.
-
Speaker 4: They must get a ton of kids down there.
-
Brother Jim: They must, they must.
-
Brother Jim: But, uh, when you look in that
-
Brother Jim: mirror, remember, you are
-
Brother Jim: beautiful.
-
Brother Jim: You matter in this world.
-
Brother Jim: And most of all, oh, my goodness, you are loved.
-
Brother Jim: Uh. Today, Dave and I, we want to talk briefly about honesty.
-
Brother Jim: What is honesty to you?
-
Brother Jim: What is honesty to me?
-
Brother Jim: What is honesty to the world?
-
Brother Jim: Honesty is more than just telling the truth.
-
Brother Jim: When someone asks us a question.
-
Brother Jim: Honesty is a way of living.
-
Brother Jim: It means our words, our actions, and even our intentions line up
-
Brother Jim: with what is right.
-
Brother Jim: Now here's the big question, David.
-
Brother Jim: What is right in today's world by today's standards?
-
Speaker 4: Good question.
-
Brother Jim: Big question mark.
-
Brother Jim: I would say big question mark.
-
Brother Jim: And to me, and this is just my
-
Brother Jim: opinion, it comes down to the
-
Brother Jim: individual.
-
Brother Jim: What you choose to believe is right.
-
Brother Jim: What you choose to believe is wrong.
-
Brother Jim: Now, if you claim the title of
-
Brother Jim: Christian, if you claim the
-
Brother Jim: title of being a follower of
-
Brother Jim: Jesus Christ, then this right
-
Brother Jim: here, my friends, this is the
-
Brother Jim: honest truth.
-
Brother Jim: So we better align ourselves with that.
-
Brother Jim: Now, there's so much in the world today.
-
Brother Jim: And again, just my opinion, David, you look around.
-
Brother Jim: I mean, there is so much you can pick from, if you will.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: On what you want to believe and what you don't want to believe.
-
Brother Jim: From religion to politics to
-
Brother Jim: entertainment to this, to that
-
Brother Jim: social media.
-
Brother Jim: Who's got the best app?
-
Brother Jim: What's the best app?
-
Brother Jim: You know, I mean, is Htmu better than Amazon?
-
Brother Jim: I don't know.
-
Speaker 4: Right?
-
Brother Jim: And again, look what we get into arguments about skirmishes.
-
Brother Jim: People end in friendships.
-
Brother Jim: Harsh words said over silliness, silliness.
-
Brother Jim: So what is honesty today?
-
Brother Jim: What do you speak?
-
Brother Jim: What comes out of your mouth?
-
Brother Jim: These kanane lips of yours and
-
Brother Jim: mine, especially the Bible,
-
Brother Jim: reminds us in Proverbs twelve
-
Brother Jim: twenty two that the Lord detests
-
Brother Jim: lying lips, but he delights in
-
Brother Jim: people who are trustworthy, O
-
Brother Jim: trustworthy.
-
Brother Jim: David, are we men that are trustworthy?
-
Brother Jim: I would hope.
-
Speaker 4: So. Right?
-
Brother Jim: Trustworthy.
-
Brother Jim: This tells us that honesty matters to God.
-
Brother Jim: So did you hear me on that?
-
Brother Jim: My friend's honesty matters to God.
-
Brother Jim: When we are honest, we reflect his character.
-
Brother Jim: Oh, character is a big one right there.
-
Brother Jim: Definition of character of an individual.
-
Brother Jim: I've met a lot of good men and
-
Brother Jim: women whose character put mine
-
Brother Jim: to shame, and I've met some
-
Brother Jim: people.
-
Brother Jim: I should be on Mount Rushmore.
-
Brother Jim: David.
-
Brother Jim: I'm just.
-
Brother Jim: You know what I mean?
-
Brother Jim: Uh, yeah.
-
Brother Jim: And a lot of people right there in the middle, but, uh,
-
Brother Jim: character that could be a whole sermon series on that one.
-
Brother Jim: But sometimes, let's be honest, honesty is not easy.
-
Brother Jim: For example, and I'm going to go with a little bit of funny here.
-
Brother Jim: When the wife asks, does this make me look fat?
-
Brother Jim: Gentlemen, what do you say?
-
Speaker 4: Good one.
-
Speaker 4: David, you got it?
-
Speaker 4: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Do I look good in this?
-
Brother Jim: How do you like my hair?
-
Brother Jim: See, that's what.
-
Brother Jim: Guys, we're so simple.
-
Brother Jim: We're just simple.
-
Brother Jim: Simple cretins of.
-
Speaker 4: What you see is what you get.
-
Brother Jim: Exactly. We don't care, obviously.
-
Brother Jim: But. Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: No. And that's just kind of a
-
Brother Jim: running joke with, you know,
-
Brother Jim: you've heard that many a times,
-
Brother Jim: you know, of does this make me
-
Brother Jim: look fat or does it make me look
-
Brother Jim: ugly?
-
Brother Jim: Does this make me look old?
-
Brother Jim: Why are you even asking?
-
Brother Jim: Because you're setting me up.
-
Brother Jim: Setting us up because no matter
-
Brother Jim: how we answer, women will
-
Brother Jim: usually find.
-
Brother Jim: And again, I'm not picking on women.
-
Brother Jim: But if you're not feeling good about it, then we're definitely
-
Brother Jim: not going to say anything.
-
Brother Jim: So it's kind of we can't win on that situation.
-
Brother Jim: So. So yes, and again, we're joking about that.
-
Brother Jim: But no, when it comes down to it, honesty is not easy.
-
Brother Jim: Sometimes they say, David, you
-
Brother Jim: know, a little white lie is
-
Brother Jim: okay.
-
Brother Jim: Is it though?
-
Brother Jim: And it's hard sometimes.
-
Brother Jim: You want to protect people's feelings.
-
Brother Jim: You don't want to hurt somebody.
-
Speaker 4: Sure.
-
Brother Jim: But also, it can come back to
-
Brother Jim: bite you in the keister at
-
Brother Jim: times, too.
-
Brother Jim: You know, there are moments when
-
Brother Jim: telling the truth may cost us
-
Brother Jim: something.
-
Brother Jim: Our pride, our comfort, or even someone's approval.
-
Brother Jim: But honesty builds something far greater.
-
Brother Jim: Trust.
-
Brother Jim: When people know we are honest, they know they can depend on us.
-
Brother Jim: Jesus.
-
Brother Jim: Oh excuse me.
-
Brother Jim: Jesus also taught the importance of truth.
-
Brother Jim: In John eight thirty two it
-
Brother Jim: says, then you will know the
-
Brother Jim: truth, and the truth will set
-
Brother Jim: you free.
-
Brother Jim: Living honestly frees us from
-
Brother Jim: guilt, fear, and the burden of
-
Brother Jim: hiding things.
-
Brother Jim: And oh, David, I don't know about you, but back in the day,
-
Brother Jim: I could hide some serious stuff.
-
Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
-
Brother Jim: And maybe not bad things, you know, but things you just didn't
-
Brother Jim: want anybody else to know.
-
Brother Jim: Sure.
-
Brother Jim: Because it could hurt them.
-
Brother Jim: Or it could embarrass you and embarrass someone you love.
-
Brother Jim: And, you know, even as a pastor, you got to have very many, a lot
-
Brother Jim: of compartments of things that, you know, it just doesn't go
-
Brother Jim: beyond this wall here between myself and the person.
-
Brother Jim: And there's sometimes, you know, it's hard.
-
Brother Jim: Are you asking for prayer?
-
Brother Jim: And, you know, you try to come out.
-
Brother Jim: Do you would you like prayer for this?
-
Brother Jim: And people can get very weird.
-
Brother Jim: You got to try to read between the lines.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: You know, do you want to visit?
-
Brother Jim: Well, it's like, help me out here a little bit.
-
Speaker 4: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: You know, you're not going to hurt my feelings either way, but
-
Brother Jim: just be honest.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, and it's tough, you know?
-
Brother Jim: But again, it frees us from guilt.
-
Brother Jim: Honesty does fear and the burden of hiding things.
-
Brother Jim: And those are all big ones.
-
Brother Jim: And I think everybody's life, David, you know, guilt is a
-
Brother Jim: tough one to deal with fear.
-
Brother Jim: And it's funny, it's not that I fear the boogeyman anymore or.
-
Brother Jim: Well, I don't know if I ran into Bigfoot out in the woods.
-
Brother Jim: I still don't know what I'd do there, you know?
-
Speaker 4: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: But, uh, you know, the burden of hiding things.
-
Brother Jim: And again, not so much hiding things, but how about dealing
-
Brother Jim: with things, David?
-
Brother Jim: Dealing with from a husband, a
-
Brother Jim: father, a son, a brother, a
-
Brother Jim: pastor.
-
Brother Jim: There's a lot of things you deal with.
-
Brother Jim: And sometimes you you hide.
-
Brother Jim: You ever hide from reality or
-
Brother Jim: you want to let me redefine
-
Brother Jim: that.
-
Brother Jim: You want to hide from reality.
-
Speaker 4: Try to escape.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
-
Brother Jim: So, uh, today, let us remember,
-
Brother Jim: friends, be honest in what we
-
Brother Jim: say.
-
Brother Jim: Be honest in what we do.
-
Brother Jim: Be honest even when no one is watching.
-
Brother Jim: When you and I walk.
-
Brother Jim: In honesty, we honor God and become people others can trust.
-
Brother Jim: So let you and I strive to live lives of truth every, every day.
-
Brother Jim: Amen.
-
Brother Jim: Well, my friends, that just about does it for this.
-
Brother Jim: Tuesday, March twenty fourth, twenty twenty six.
-
Brother Jim: Mr. Dave and my friend.
-
Brother Jim: Closing thoughts or comments on this segment.
-
Speaker 4: Well, you know, it's just I think it's best to err on the
-
Speaker 4: side of honesty.
-
Speaker 4: If nothing else, you know, we joked about, you know, does this
-
Speaker 4: make me look fat?
-
Speaker 4: And I, I, I do, I don't tell my wife.
-
Speaker 4: Yeah, you look like a fat cow.
-
Speaker 4: I mean, come on, who would do that?
-
Speaker 4: But I want to be honest with her
-
Speaker 4: and say, well, you know, yeah,
-
Speaker 4: maybe.
-
Speaker 4: You know.
-
Brother Jim: That color doesn't flatter you.
-
Brother Jim: Yes or.
-
Speaker 4: Yes. And does it hurt?
-
Speaker 4: Maybe.
-
Speaker 4: But would she rather me let her go out?
-
Speaker 4: Not looking her best, right?
-
Speaker 4: I mean, I don't I don't think that she would so.
-
Brother Jim: Right.
-
Brother Jim: And to me it doesn't matter.
-
Brother Jim: But when they ask because you love your wife regardless,
-
Brother Jim: you're beautiful in our eyes.
-
Brother Jim: But we're getting set up a lot of the time.
-
Brother Jim: You know it.
-
Brother Jim: Like me going down to everybody
-
Brother Jim: said, hey, did you enjoy the
-
Brother Jim: sermon today?
-
Brother Jim: Did you enjoy the sermon today?
-
Brother Jim: Well.
-
Speaker 4: Brother Jim, that was the best sermon I heard today.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Speaker 4: Exactly.
-
Brother Jim: Well thank you.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, wait a minute here.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, exactly.
-
Brother Jim: And I think sometimes we set ourselves up for that.
-
Brother Jim: David, of do we really want to hear the truth?
-
Speaker 4: Right.
-
Speaker 4: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah. And if we ask, then, you know, you.
-
Speaker 4: You got to be willing to receive.
-
Brother Jim: It comes back people that are very straightforward and honest,
-
Brother Jim: which I like.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: You better be man enough to take it then.
-
Brother Jim: Right?
-
Brother Jim: You know, um, again, I'm so glad we're dudes.
-
Brother Jim: We don't have to worry about.
-
Brother Jim: Does this make me look fat?
-
Brother Jim: You know?
-
Speaker 4: Yes. Everything I wear makes me look fat, I know it.
-
Speaker 4: Just go on.
-
Brother Jim: You know why, David?
-
Brother Jim: Because I'm fat.
-
Speaker 4: That's right.
-
Speaker 4: Exactly.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah. Uh. All right.
-
Brother Jim: Please remember you.
-
Brother Jim: Yes, you have meaning.
-
Brother Jim: You have value.
-
Brother Jim: And most of all, you are loved.
-
Brother Jim: May God continue to bless you just as well.
-
Brother Jim: May you and I continue to thank our Lord above for our blessings
-
Brother Jim: each and every day.
-
Brother Jim: And if we meet again, well, then we will smile and rejoice.
-
Brother Jim: And if not, then this parting was well made.
-
Brother Jim: Thank you for joining David and myself along with Miss Ida Lee.
-
Brother Jim: Here, baby.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, here on Bible and prayer.
-
Brother Jim: This is the big guy, brother Jim.
-
Brother Jim: Out.
