  27. Brother Jim: let's get into it, shall we?

  28. Brother Jim: I need to switch hats, my friend, because we're going on a

  29. Brother Jim: ride today, a trail.

  30. David: There you go.

  31. Brother Jim: Hitting a happy trail?

  32. Brother Jim: Yes. Hey, my friends, I haven't spoke to my wife in years.

  33. Brother Jim: I thought it'd be rude to interrupt her.

  34. Brother Jim: Woo!

  35. Brother Jim: Yes.

  36. Brother Jim: And by the way, there was a break in at the wig factory.

  37. Brother Jim: Police are combing the area.

  38. Brother Jim: I don't know if I use that one or not, but.

  39. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  40. Brother Jim: Yes, yes, yes, it is.

  41. Brother Jim: Double joke.

  42. Brother Jim: Thursday.

  43. Brother Jim: What a blessing.

  44. Brother Jim: Right.

  45. Brother Jim: Miss Ida Li Dan, our chicken and, uh, the Leinster.

  46. Brother Jim: And she's not looking so grumpy today, are you, baby?

  47. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  48. Brother Jim: And I forgot a banana.

  49. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  50. Brother Jim: Gotta keep her happy because you don't want to see the Leinster

  51. Brother Jim: upset, do you, David?

  52. David: Absolutely not.

  53. David: Ah.

  54. Brother Jim: So saying all that, all that

  55. Brother Jim: gibberish and gibberish stuff

  56. Brother Jim: going on.

  57. Brother Jim: Good morning to you, our friends.

  58. Brother Jim: Good morning world.

  59. Brother Jim: Let us thank God for another beautiful day, another breath

  60. Brother Jim: and another opportunity to grow.

  61. Brother Jim: Just like all those dandelions

  62. Brother Jim: and weeds in the garden, in the

  63. Brother Jim: yard.

  64. Brother Jim: Grow and grow and grow.

  65. Brother Jim: Here on Bible bibs in prayer, we start our day with gratitude,

  66. Brother Jim: good conversation and positive.

  67. Brother Jim: Yes.

  68. Brother Jim: Positive energy.

  69. Brother Jim: Let's turn this from a

  70. Brother Jim: conversation into an experience,

  71. Brother Jim: shall we?

  72. Brother Jim: And now joining me, as always,

  73. Brother Jim: is the human embodiment of

  74. Brother Jim: sarcasm.

  75. Brother Jim: My co-host who showed up today, which already exceeds and this

  76. Brother Jim: is mean to say our expectations.

  77. Brother Jim: He's always here.

  78. Brother Jim: The man behind the scenes that makes all this possible.

  79. Brother Jim: A man that brings the same energy as always confusing.

  80. Brother Jim: But he is committed.

  81. Brother Jim: And that's what we love about you.

  82. Brother Jim: Committed above all else.

  83. Brother Jim: My ho, my co-host, living proof that you don't need a plan to

  84. Brother Jim: have a podcast.

  85. Brother Jim: Say hello to a man among men.

  86. Brother Jim: A face that only a mother could love.

  87. Brother Jim: Please welcome the one, the only

  88. Brother Jim: Mr. David Keener, plus one of my

  89. Brother Jim: best friends in the whole wide

  90. Brother Jim: world.

  91. Brother Jim: Good morning sir.

  92. David: Good morning.

  93. David: Well, it might not be the best in the business, but I'm the

  94. David: best you got.

  95. David: So there you go.

  96. David: Oh, yes.

  97. David: And we.

  98. Brother Jim: Me and the barnyard.

  99. Brother Jim: We are so thankful.

  100. Brother Jim: Yes.

  101. Brother Jim: Yes.

  102. Brother Jim: How is life in Kernersville?

  103. David: It's good.

  104. David: The weekend is upon us.

  105. David: And I'm a part of my.

  106. David: My joke for today is the worst limbo player in the world walked

  107. David: into a bar.

  108. David: What?

  109. Brother Jim: He's killing.

  110. David: Me.

  111. Brother Jim: He's killing me.

  112. Brother Jim: I gotta find out where he's getting this stuff.

  113. Brother Jim: Because it is good.

  114. David: Clark.

  115. Brother Jim: Yes. Yes.

  116. David: I was recently on a job

  117. David: interview, and the guy said, I

  118. David: want you to sell this computer,

  119. David: sell this computer, and you're

  120. David: hired.

  121. David: All right.

  122. David: Tucked it under my arm and took off.

  123. David: A couple weeks later, he calls me back and says, hey, I want my

  124. David: computer back now.

  125. David: I said, that's no problem.

  126. David: Two hundred bucks, it's yours.

  127. Brother Jim: He's not the best color

  128. Brother Jim: commentator in the business,

  129. Brother Jim: folks.

  130. Brother Jim: Yes.

  131. David: Two for Thursday.

  132. Brother Jim: Yes!

  133. Brother Jim: Woo hoo!

  134. Brother Jim: Yeah!

  135. Brother Jim: Plans for the weekend?

  136. David: No, not that I know of.

  137. David: Let me think what weekend this is.

  138. David: Uh, yeah, I think I do.

  139. David: I think I have my son's concert to go to this weekend.

  140. David: So the xylophone thing, he's

  141. David: eagerly and been ready to do

  142. David: that.

  143. David: So so that should be fun.

  144. Brother Jim: We've got a concert tonight.

  145. Brother Jim: Ellie's spring concert.

  146. Brother Jim: Very nice.

  147. Brother Jim: Yes.

  148. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  149. Brother Jim: Uh, yeah.

  150. Brother Jim: And again, I've said it's never had.

  151. Brother Jim: Our three older ones were never in the band.

  152. Brother Jim: So it's kind of cool.

  153. Brother Jim: I, I enjoy it because again, it's like, I don't know where

  154. Brother Jim: you get that talent from.

  155. Brother Jim: Sure didn't come from me.

  156. Brother Jim: But of course, then I watch her

  157. Brother Jim: playing sports and it's like,

  158. Brother Jim: you didn't get that for me

  159. Brother Jim: either.

  160. Brother Jim: Now, uh, it's one thing, though.

  161. Brother Jim: All three girls that played

  162. Brother Jim: basketball, I think I've

  163. Brother Jim: mentioned this, but when they

  164. Brother Jim: played defense, it would drive

  165. Brother Jim: me nuts.

  166. Brother Jim: David.

  167. Brother Jim: They would hold their shorts

  168. Brother Jim: with their right hand instead of

  169. Brother Jim: getting it down in the proper

  170. Brother Jim: defensive position.

  171. Brother Jim: Yeah, they would get down.

  172. Brother Jim: It looked perfect, except they

  173. Brother Jim: would hold their right short

  174. Brother Jim: leg.

  175. Brother Jim: Why?

  176. Brother Jim: I don't know.

  177. Brother Jim: I would go nuts up in the stands, and to this day, it's

  178. Brother Jim: still a running joke.

  179. Brother Jim: Why why why?

  180. Brother Jim: Uh. But yeah, uh, how about you guys plans for the weekend?

  181. Brother Jim: Uh, I did David.

  182. Brother Jim: Uh, we got the big tractor out the other day.

  183. Brother Jim: Yeah, got the tiller on the back.

  184. Brother Jim: Nice.

  185. Brother Jim: So, uh, getting ready for

  186. Brother Jim: garden, and I've got the lumber

  187. Brother Jim: because I am on vacation,

  188. Brother Jim: actually hoping to be on

  189. Brother Jim: vacation.

  190. Brother Jim: And, uh, got, uh, the, the

  191. Brother Jim: timber laid out for some raised

  192. Brother Jim: gardens.

  193. Brother Jim: So, uh, did I tell you about my forks?

  194. David: You did.

  195. David: You told me.

  196. David: I don't know if you told the ladies and gentlemen, though.

  197. Brother Jim: Well, I've got a Steiner and a Steiner.

  198. Brother Jim: Ventrac.

  199. Brother Jim: It is such an amazing machine.

  200. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  201. Brother Jim: For your wannabe weekend warriors, you know.

  202. Brother Jim: And I've got a bucket and a blade along with a mowing deck.

  203. Brother Jim: And that bucket.

  204. Brother Jim: I tell you what, I wear it out because it beats a wheelbarrow.

  205. David: Oh, sure.

  206. Brother Jim: And it's great for an older fat man.

  207. Brother Jim: You know, you just kind of every time you got to get off.

  208. Brother Jim: But, uh, I'm hoping and I'll come back to this.

  209. Brother Jim: Let you guys know.

  210. Brother Jim: I'm hoping to build a couple things because I've got all

  211. Brother Jim: these big, beautiful pallets.

  212. Brother Jim: Yeah, but you can't move them.

  213. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  214. Brother Jim: I'm too old and not strong enough anymore to throw.

  215. Brother Jim: And, I mean, these are big pallets like the eight footers.

  216. Brother Jim: And to drag them, you tear up

  217. Brother Jim: the yard and you tear up the

  218. Brother Jim: skids.

  219. Brother Jim: So I have seen these forks that go on the front of your bucket.

  220. Brother Jim: Mhm.

  221. Brother Jim: So you can easily lift.

  222. Brother Jim: Now, me being a typical American male meat eating, gun loving,

  223. Brother Jim: love, patriotic guy, we go big or go home, right?

  224. Brother Jim: That's right.

  225. Brother Jim: I gotta have a little Texas blood in me.

  226. Brother Jim: So I get online and I find this heck of a deal for two forks.

  227. Brother Jim: Now, of course, I go with the highest rating for for weight.

  228. David: Well, yeah.

  229. David: Why wouldn't you?

  230. Brother Jim: Why wouldn't you?

  231. Brother Jim: Exactly.

  232. Brother Jim: I get them out.

  233. Brother Jim: Good golly.

  234. Brother Jim: They're made for hoops.

  235. Brother Jim: A regular tractor bucket.

  236. Brother Jim: So I'm.

  237. Brother Jim: And of course, like a kid at

  238. Brother Jim: Christmas, I hurry up and throw

  239. Brother Jim: them on.

  240. David: Yeah.

  241. Brother Jim: I'm like, what have I done?

  242. Brother Jim: Let's just say a little too big.

  243. Brother Jim: But they shall work.

  244. David: So Steiner trying to do a nosedive.

  245. Brother Jim: Well, luckily you got this on

  246. Brother Jim: the backside for counterweights

  247. Brother Jim: because my one friend said, you

  248. Brother Jim: better watch.

  249. Brother Jim: You might tip it.

  250. Brother Jim: And I'm like, Greg, buddy, ain't no tipping.

  251. Brother Jim: Yes.

  252. Brother Jim: But, uh, again, hopefully we get some of that done while I'm on

  253. Brother Jim: vacation, but I'm excited to get the garden in because I tell you

  254. Brother Jim: food prices and everything else.

  255. David: It's crazy.

  256. Brother Jim: Yeah, I wish I could make my own toilet paper, you know?

  257. Brother Jim: Now, of course, we could go old

  258. Brother Jim: school corn cobs at the end of

  259. Brother Jim: the.

  260. Brother Jim: But I'll pass on that one.

  261. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  262. Brother Jim: Hey, that's a great question.

  263. Brother Jim: Not to be rude, but to our older listeners, have you ever had to

  264. Brother Jim: use a corn cob back in the day?

  265. Brother Jim: Like I said, it's an experience here on Bible bibs and a prayer.

  266. David: Didn't say a good experience.

  267. David: Just an experience.

  268. Brother Jim: Yes. Well, I think we've said keep your expectations low.

  269. Brother Jim: Uh, yes.

  270. Brother Jim: But, uh, uh, how about you guys again?

  271. Brother Jim: How's, uh, how's your gardening going?

  272. Brother Jim: How's your landscaping coming?

  273. Brother Jim: How's everything going?

  274. Brother Jim: Let us know.

  275. Brother Jim: Come on.

  276. Brother Jim: Peg Abraham, our friend.

  277. Brother Jim: How you doing out there?

  278. Brother Jim: Uh, one of our faithful listeners let us know.

  279. Brother Jim: Uh, you know, and again, especially our friends from

  280. Brother Jim: overseas up north, down south.

  281. Brother Jim: Let us know what is going on.

  282. Brother Jim: We would love to hear from you.

  283. Brother Jim: How about Vietnam?

  284. Brother Jim: Let us know what is going on

  285. Brother Jim: over there and you're into the

  286. Brother Jim: world.

  287. Brother Jim: How about it, friends?

  288. Brother Jim: Big plans for the weekend because it is almost upon us.

  289. Brother Jim: Memorial Day.

  290. Brother Jim: David will be here before we know it.

  291. David: Sure will.

  292. Brother Jim: I mean, and then the summer is off and running.

  293. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  294. Brother Jim: Yes.

  295. Brother Jim: Alrighty then.

  296. Brother Jim: A week has almost come to an end.

  297. Brother Jim: Friends, what have you.

  298. Brother Jim: Yes.

  299. Brother Jim: What have you done to make this past week better?

  300. Brother Jim: A difference in God's kingdom.

  301. Brother Jim: The weekend is almost here.

  302. Brother Jim: You still got time to get out there and do something good.

  303. Brother Jim: Do something positive for

  304. Brother Jim: someone you love, someone you

  305. Brother Jim: care about, or even a complete

  306. Brother Jim: stranger.

  307. Brother Jim: So saddle up and let's hit the

  308. Brother Jim: brand new weekend trail

  309. Brother Jim: together.

  310. Brother Jim: Hi ho.

  311. Brother Jim: Silver, we need to get you a bike.

  312. Brother Jim: I don't know if it offend anybody, but I said I've got

  313. Brother Jim: Native American in me, so we can pass that on to you.

  314. Brother Jim: Like, uh.

  315. David: I'm not sure that's how that works, but yeah.

  316. Brother Jim: Like Tonto.

  317. Brother Jim: Well, the other day in Bible study, uh, somebody mentioned

  318. Brother Jim: they were watching the Guardians and I said, I'm going to stop

  319. Brother Jim: you right there because I refuse to call them the Guardians.

  320. Brother Jim: They are the Indians.

  321. Brother Jim: You know, I cannot go to that woke belief right there.

  322. Brother Jim: Yes.

  323. Brother Jim: Love me, hate me.

  324. Brother Jim: It's okay.

  325. Brother Jim: But we gotta stand for what we believe in, you know?

  326. Brother Jim: Come on, come on, come on.

  327. Brother Jim: I wish we could put that to music.

  328. Brother Jim: David, you're almost there.

  329. David: I'll have to work on that.

  330. Brother Jim: We'll work on that one.

  331. Brother Jim: All right.

  332. Brother Jim: Our humor of the day.

  333. Brother Jim: Here's a problem for you.

  334. Brother Jim: And I could see myself doing this.

  335. Brother Jim: David, how do you get two pounds of chocolate home from the store

  336. Brother Jim: in a hot car?

  337. David: No idea.

  338. Brother Jim: You eat it in a parking lot?

  339. Brother Jim: Yes.

  340. Brother Jim: Actually, that is a good idea.

  341. Brother Jim: And notice the word share was not in.

  342. David: Right?

  343. Brother Jim: Oh, okay.

  344. Brother Jim: Real quick, speaking of chocolate.

  345. Brother Jim: Yep.

  346. Brother Jim: Around Easter time, we.

  347. Brother Jim: Oh, we love those chocolate eggs with the caramel.

  348. David: Caramel.

  349. Brother Jim: Yeah. Uh, I can't think of the name.

  350. David: Of the Cadbury ones.

  351. Brother Jim: Yes.

  352. David: Yeah.

  353. Brother Jim: And me and my wife have this

  354. Brother Jim: ongoing battle because she loves

  355. Brother Jim: chocolate.

  356. Brother Jim: And she will hide the chocolate.

  357. Brother Jim: And her mom, Marilyn.

  358. Brother Jim: Miss Marilyn always gets her and Ellie some of them eggs.

  359. David: Yeah.

  360. Brother Jim: Now, usually I buy my own.

  361. Brother Jim: And I asked her, did you get any?

  362. Brother Jim: Well, I didn't buy any.

  363. Brother Jim: Did you get any?

  364. Brother Jim: I didn't buy any.

  365. David: That's like a technicality.

  366. Brother Jim: Well, the other day I was looking for.

  367. Brother Jim: Ah, Non-sponsored biofreeze.

  368. Brother Jim: And I did the unthinkable.

  369. Brother Jim: David.

  370. Brother Jim: I opened a woman's drawer by the bedside.

  371. Brother Jim: by the bed, you know, the nightstand.

  372. Brother Jim: And lo and behold, what do you think I found?

  373. Brother Jim: Cadbury Cadbury.

  374. David: Eggs?

  375. Brother Jim: Yes, I didn't touch, but I did have a sarcastic remark for her.

  376. Brother Jim: But she corrected me, said I never claimed to buy any and I

  377. Brother Jim: never claimed to eat them all.

  378. Brother Jim: I'm like, all right, you got me.

  379. Brother Jim: Do you guys do that?

  380. Brother Jim: Especially our women?

  381. Brother Jim: Not stereotyping, but do you hide your chocolate?

  382. Brother Jim: Good question.

  383. Brother Jim: Today's thought.

  384. Brother Jim: The gospel is open to all.

  385. Brother Jim: The most respectable sinner has

  386. Brother Jim: no more claim on it than the

  387. Brother Jim: worst.

  388. Brother Jim: Martyn Lloyd-Jones.

  389. Brother Jim: Now we've started this little series on salvation.

  390. Brother Jim: Why it is so important.

  391. Brother Jim: We're going to continue on this, because I personally feel we

  392. Brother Jim: need to be talking about salvation more than anything,

  393. Brother Jim: and as well as spreading the gospel in this time in this age

  394. Brother Jim: we are facing now.

  395. Brother Jim: Because when that trumpet sounds, my friends who there's

  396. Brother Jim: no going back, is there, David?

  397. David: Nope. You better get ready to go.

  398. Brother Jim: You're either in or you're out.

  399. David: Yep.

  400. Brother Jim: Why do we need salvation?

  401. Brother Jim: David, that's a great question.

  402. Brother Jim: I would ask my barnyard friends here, but I don't think we'll

  403. Brother Jim: get the proper answer.

  404. Brother Jim: And your own personal opinion.

  405. Brother Jim: Why do we need salvation?

  406. David: Well, because we're a lost people.

  407. David: I mean, we're we're a failed and failed and lost people.

  408. Brother Jim: Anything you'd like to add to that?

  409. David: Not that I can think of at the moment.

  410. Brother Jim: How about we're sinners?

  411. David: Oh, yeah.

  412. David: Yeah, yeah.

  413. Brother Jim: There is no redemption for us as we talk Tuesday.

  414. Brother Jim: You can't earn it, can you?

  415. David: Nope.

  416. Brother Jim: You can't do good works, can you?

  417. David: Nope.

  418. Brother Jim: And I'll quiz you.

  419. Brother Jim: What did we say on Tuesday?

  420. Brother Jim: It is a gift, a gift.

  421. Brother Jim: So why do we need salvation?

  422. Brother Jim: I am so glad you asked.

  423. Brother Jim: If you go to Romans three twenty

  424. Brother Jim: three, hopefully you grab your

  425. Brother Jim: Bible.

  426. Brother Jim: That's something we need to start encouraging.

  427. Brother Jim: When you watch Bible bibs and a prayer.

  428. Brother Jim: Grab your Bible.

  429. Brother Jim: Bring it with you.

  430. Brother Jim: Romans three twenty three tells us, for all have sinned and all

  431. Brother Jim: fall short of the glory of God.

  432. Brother Jim: Oh, whoa!

  433. Brother Jim: Wait a minute, David.

  434. Brother Jim: You're meaning I have sinned, I fall short.

  435. David: Yeah. Get out!

  436. David: Shockingly.

  437. David: Yes.

  438. Brother Jim: Oh, jeez.

  439. Brother Jim: Elizabeth, it's the big one.

  440. Brother Jim: I'm coming!

  441. Brother Jim: Ha ha!

  442. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  443. Brother Jim: Everyone needs salvation because everyone is sin.

  444. Brother Jim: I don't care how self-righteous you think you are.

  445. Brother Jim: You've sinned and you keep on sinning.

  446. Brother Jim: Now, maybe you don't sin as much.

  447. Brother Jim: And that's.

  448. Brother Jim: Thank God for the transformation, the Holy Spirit.

  449. Brother Jim: But yes, we we do, don't we, David?

  450. Brother Jim: Sure do.

  451. Brother Jim: How about those little thoughts of anger?

  452. Brother Jim: Yep.

  453. Brother Jim: How about those little thoughts of lust?

  454. Brother Jim: How about those just unholy moments?

  455. Brother Jim: And again, as we've been talking about temptation, temptation is

  456. Brother Jim: not to sin, but when we act on temptation, it becomes a sin.

  457. Brother Jim: So yes, brothers and sisters, it means you and me.

  458. Brother Jim: Sin separates us from God.

  459. Brother Jim: It is not just bad actions.

  460. Brother Jim: Oh, but a broken condition.

  461. Brother Jim: David.

  462. Brother Jim: I thought, you know, it's all them bad people out there.

  463. Brother Jim: All those bad heathens out there.

  464. Brother Jim: Not me.

  465. Brother Jim: Whew.

  466. Brother Jim: I'm getting a little riled now, folks.

  467. Brother Jim: Had a great discussion in Bible study.

  468. Brother Jim: The way we were raised, especially that old school way.

  469. David: Yeah.

  470. Brother Jim: If you smoke, if you drink, if you say naughty words, those are

  471. Brother Jim: the top three.

  472. Brother Jim: Whew.

  473. Brother Jim: There is no salvation for you, is there?

  474. Brother Jim: You're going to hell.

  475. Brother Jim: MM. HMM.

  476. Brother Jim: Let's ponder that for a moment.

  477. David: I don't think the Ten

  478. David: Commandments were in any kind of

  479. David: order.

  480. David: I mean, I don't think they were numbered.

  481. David: Worst.

  482. David: Worst to not so worst or what have you.

  483. David: Yeah.

  484. Brother Jim: Are we picking are we judging?

  485. Brother Jim: Are we, you know, picking what we deem.

  486. David: Yeah.

  487. Brother Jim: Is sin.

  488. David: Right.

  489. Brother Jim: MM. Think on that one for a moment, my friends.

  490. Brother Jim: Not just bad actions, but a broken condition.

  491. Brother Jim: We cannot fix ourselves on our own.

  492. Brother Jim: As we discussed Tuesday.

  493. Brother Jim: We can't do it no matter how hard, how bad.

  494. Brother Jim: We want to think of salvation this way a broken phone.

  495. Brother Jim: Had an experience just this morning with that.

  496. David: Oh, fun.

  497. Brother Jim: A broken phone that cannot repair itself.

  498. Brother Jim: It needs what it needs an outside fix.

  499. Brother Jim: Our.

  500. Brother Jim: Our internet goes down.

  501. Brother Jim: We can only do so much.

  502. Brother Jim: Right, David?

  503. Brother Jim: You can only reset the router,

  504. Brother Jim: but after that, it's out of our

  505. Brother Jim: hands.

  506. David: Yep.

  507. Brother Jim: Yes. Your car breaks down today.

  508. Brother Jim: Now, I used to think I could fix

  509. Brother Jim: back in the day most of the

  510. Brother Jim: stuff.

  511. Brother Jim: Not now, brother, you need a

  512. Brother Jim: computer just to tell you what's

  513. Brother Jim: wrong.

  514. David: Yep.

  515. Brother Jim: And a little question.

  516. Brother Jim: What ever happened to having a spare tire?

  517. Brother Jim: Even the donut was better.

  518. Brother Jim: Right now you get a can of fix-a-flat, if you're lucky.

  519. Brother Jim: Yeah, we can fix it.

  520. Brother Jim: Yes.

  521. Brother Jim: We can't fix it no matter how bad we want to.

  522. Brother Jim: Or we think we are capable of doing it.

  523. Brother Jim: Because what happens, David,

  524. Brother Jim: when we usually try to fix

  525. Brother Jim: something.

  526. David: It usually gets worse.

  527. Brother Jim: It gets worse. Exactly. Golfing, David, for example.

  528. David: Yeah.

  529. Brother Jim: I couldn't help but think of

  530. Brother Jim: that movie Tin Cup because

  531. Brother Jim: brother Rich.

  532. Brother Jim: Rich stopped in to see us.

  533. Brother Jim: God bless Rich.

  534. Brother Jim: And, uh, uh.

  535. Brother Jim: And then they're heading down to Tampa.

  536. Brother Jim: Safe travels for you.

  537. Brother Jim: But he was watching his buddy golf, and it reminded me of the

  538. Brother Jim: Tin Cup situation.

  539. Brother Jim: That movie at the very end where you got your little hole out

  540. Brother Jim: there in the on a little island.

  541. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  542. Brother Jim: Water surrounded.

  543. Brother Jim: Yep.

  544. Brother Jim: What happens to us?

  545. David: We joke.

  546. Brother Jim: We shank the first one.

  547. Brother Jim: Oh, no, I got this.

  548. Brother Jim: Then goes the second ball into the water.

  549. Brother Jim: We hit it perfect.

  550. Brother Jim: It hits and then it rolls.

  551. David: Yeah.

  552. Brother Jim: So close.

  553. Brother Jim: But yet so far.

  554. Brother Jim: Is that how we view it sometimes?

  555. Brother Jim: And be honest about your need for God.

  556. Brother Jim: Be honest about your life.

  557. Brother Jim: Do not compare your sin to others.

  558. Brother Jim: Everyone needs saving.

  559. Brother Jim: Oh, again I said, we compare ourselves to others.

  560. Brother Jim: Do we start judging others?

  561. David: We do.

  562. Brother Jim: Oh we do.

  563. Brother Jim: So how does salvation, how does salvation work?

  564. Brother Jim: Let's break it down again in a clear, simple manner.

  565. Brother Jim: Number one for all have sinned.

  566. Brother Jim: This means everyone has sinned.

  567. Brother Jim: Not just certain bad people, not the bad people out there, the

  568. Brother Jim: heathens, the ones that go to a bar, the ones who you name it,

  569. Brother Jim: will come up with a way.

  570. Brother Jim: Why?

  571. Brother Jim: It's a sin.

  572. Brother Jim: Not just the people who get caught.

  573. Brother Jim: All means all of us.

  574. Brother Jim: We're in one big Ole kettle.

  575. Brother Jim: You ever make a good beef stew or a vegetable soup?

  576. Brother Jim: That's all.

  577. David: Yep.

  578. Brother Jim: Don't it, brother?

  579. Brother Jim: Yep. But it sure does taste good at the end.

  580. David: Absolutely it does.

  581. Brother Jim: Yes, sir.

  582. Brother Jim: And includes wrong actions.

  583. Brother Jim: Ooh.

  584. Brother Jim: Lying.

  585. Brother Jim: Hurting others.

  586. Brother Jim: Hurting others.

  587. Brother Jim: Do we ever hurt anybody, David?

  588. David: Multiple times a day.

  589. Brother Jim: Sometimes, yes.

  590. Brother Jim: Yes. Putting our foot in our mouth.

  591. David: Yep.

  592. Brother Jim: Speaking before we think.

  593. Brother Jim: Yes. Being in meetings.

  594. Brother Jim: Remember the little angel and the little devil?

  595. David: Yeah.

  596. Brother Jim: Who?

  597. Brother Jim: In a meeting, for example.

  598. Brother Jim: Those little thoughts start coming in.

  599. Brother Jim: Yes.

  600. Brother Jim: Wrong thoughts, wrong attitudes.

  601. Brother Jim: Jealousy.

  602. Brother Jim: Pride.

  603. Brother Jim: Selfishness.

  604. Brother Jim: Stop.

  605. Brother Jim: Remember that commercial?

  606. Brother Jim: Stop the madness.

  607. David: Yep.

  608. Brother Jim: Yes. Even ignoring God. Oh, yes.

  609. Brother Jim: When that conviction comes upon us.

  610. Brother Jim: Whew!

  611. Brother Jim: No one is excluded from this.

  612. Brother Jim: Number two.

  613. Brother Jim: Fall short of the glory of God.

  614. Brother Jim: Fall short means not reaching the standard.

  615. Brother Jim: God's standard is perfect goodness, perfection, his glory.

  616. Brother Jim: Imagine trying to jump across the huge gap which.

  617. Brother Jim: That in itself would be funny

  618. Brother Jim: seeing me try to cross a huge

  619. Brother Jim: gap.

  620. Brother Jim: Some people might jump further

  621. Brother Jim: than others, but no one makes it

  622. Brother Jim: across.

  623. Brother Jim: And that is what this verse is saying.

  624. Brother Jim: Even if some people seem better than others, no one reaches

  625. Brother Jim: God's perfect standard.

  626. Brother Jim: Are you listening?

  627. Brother Jim: Simple meaning.

  628. Brother Jim: Romans three twenty three is saying, every one has sinned,

  629. Brother Jim: even pastors, even evangelists.

  630. Brother Jim: Even grandma, great grandpa,

  631. Brother Jim: grandpa, who's little grandma

  632. Brother Jim: sitting there knitting, you

  633. Brother Jim: know, has her little dress on

  634. Brother Jim: and everything.

  635. Brother Jim: Yes, even grandma has sinned.

  636. Brother Jim: No one is perfect.

  637. Brother Jim: And you're looking at one right now who claims that?

  638. Brother Jim: Not even close.

  639. Brother Jim: But that's where the Holy Spirit comes in with transformation.

  640. Brother Jim: When you say I am yours, God start to shape me.

  641. Brother Jim: Start to mold me.

  642. Brother Jim: No one meets God's standards on their own.

  643. Brother Jim: And why does this matter, Brother Jim?

  644. Brother Jim: This verse helps us understand something important.

  645. Brother Jim: We all need salvation.

  646. Brother Jim: We all need salvation.

  647. Brother Jim: Because.

  648. Brother Jim: David, let me ask you something, brother.

  649. Brother Jim: Is there a heaven?

  650. David: Absolutely.

  651. Brother Jim: Is there a.

  652. David: Hell?

  653. David: Absolutely.

  654. Brother Jim: Is there anything in between?

  655. David: Not that I'm aware of.

  656. Brother Jim: Not that I'm aware of.

  657. Brother Jim: And I'm talking for eternity.

  658. David: Yeah.

  659. Brother Jim: You got two choices.

  660. Brother Jim: Two choices.

  661. Brother Jim: And that should be pretty simple, shouldn't it?

  662. Brother Jim: You ever go up to order something and.

  663. Brother Jim: Oh my goodness, just choo choo

  664. Brother Jim: choo choo choo choo choo choo

  665. Brother Jim: choo.

  666. Brother Jim: Even McDonalds.

  667. Brother Jim: Yeah it gets confusing at times.

  668. Brother Jim: Heaven or hell.

  669. Brother Jim: My friends, it's as simple as it gets.

  670. Brother Jim: But salvation removes the idea that I am good enough on my own.

  671. Brother Jim: I do not need God and I've heard that before.

  672. Brother Jim: I have said that I've so filled

  673. Brother Jim: with bitterness and just not

  674. Brother Jim: self righteousness, but

  675. Brother Jim: bitterness, anger.

  676. Brother Jim: This is the way God treats me.

  677. Brother Jim: This is what he's allowing.

  678. Brother Jim: And who needs God?

  679. Brother Jim: You ever been there before?

  680. Brother Jim: Oh, I'm a walking, talking example of that.

  681. Brother Jim: And guess what?

  682. Brother Jim: I was wrong.

  683. Brother Jim: Wrong.

  684. Brother Jim: Can you say that with me today?

  685. Brother Jim: Wrong, I was wrong.

  686. Brother Jim: But instead, if we ante up and

  687. Brother Jim: be honest, it shows we all need

  688. Brother Jim: forgiveness.

  689. Brother Jim: We all need help from God.

  690. Brother Jim: So what is the bigger picture?

  691. Brother Jim: Number one, as I said, heaven and hell.

  692. Brother Jim: You got two choices.

  693. Brother Jim: I got two choices.

  694. Brother Jim: David has two choices.

  695. Brother Jim: Think about it.

  696. Brother Jim: You're either going to heaven or you're going to hell.

  697. Brother Jim: Bottom line.

  698. Brother Jim: And again, if you're keeping a scorecard with gold stars,

  699. Brother Jim: you're in trouble.

  700. Brother Jim: And if you don't care if you've chalked it up to this is my

  701. Brother Jim: life, I'm going to do what I choose to do.

  702. Brother Jim: Well, yes, you're choosing that,

  703. Brother Jim: but there will be heavy

  704. Brother Jim: consequences.

  705. Brother Jim: And this verse might sound heavy, but it sets up good news.

  706. Brother Jim: Right after this, the Bible explains God offers forgiveness.

  707. Brother Jim: But do you want it?

  708. Brother Jim: God makes a way through Jesus.

  709. Brother Jim: Do you want him?

  710. Brother Jim: So Romans three twenty three shows the problem, and the rest

  711. Brother Jim: of the message of salvation shows the solution.

  712. Brother Jim: There is a problem and there is a solution.

  713. Brother Jim: I wish other things in life were

  714. Brother Jim: so easy, but when it comes to

  715. Brother Jim: salvation, we complicate it, do

  716. Brother Jim: we not?

  717. Brother Jim: And that is something.

  718. Brother Jim: With this big old head of ours, we complicate things.

  719. Brother Jim: Mind and heart because we think we can do it by ourselves or we

  720. Brother Jim: have no need for God.

  721. Brother Jim: Ah, so again, something to chew on this weekend.

  722. Brother Jim: Well, my friends, that just about does it for this.

  723. Brother Jim: Thursday, April twenty third, twenty twenty six.

  724. Brother Jim: Mr. David, my friend.

  725. Brother Jim: My brother from another mother.

  726. Brother Jim: Closing thoughts or comments on this segment.

  727. David: Nope. Just encourage the folks again to check out the YouTube

  728. David: page for Bible and Prayer.

  729. David: They can catch up on all the

  730. David: stuff that they've missed and

  731. David: download.

  732. Brother Jim: Why?

  733. Brother Jim: David?

  734. Brother Jim: Why is that so important?

  735. David: Well, because, you know, you

  736. David: jump in the middle of something,

  737. David: you have no idea what we're

  738. David: talking about.

  739. Brother Jim: And maybe going back and paying it through.

  740. Brother Jim: Now again, the mind, the brain's not that big, but maybe you

  741. Brother Jim: might pick up something that you need at the right moment.

  742. David: There's been movies that I have

  743. David: watched for a hundred times, and

  744. David: I catch something new every

  745. David: time.

  746. Brother Jim: So he makes a great example.

  747. Brother Jim: I'm going to throw out one to you too.

  748. Brother Jim: And I just had a conversation with a woman about this who was

  749. Brother Jim: just seeking someone to talk to.

  750. Brother Jim: You ever go through?

  751. Brother Jim: And I was good at this.

  752. Brother Jim: Pastor says, turn to Ephesians two.

  753. Brother Jim: You happen to be thumbing through and out of the blue.

  754. Brother Jim: You come across the verse you need.

  755. Brother Jim: Exactly.

  756. David: Yeah.

  757. Brother Jim: Now, is that coincidence?

  758. Brother Jim: Or could that be God working on you, showing you.

  759. Brother Jim: And again, I don't get upset.

  760. Brother Jim: I will not get upset.

  761. Brother Jim: I will get upset if you're

  762. Brother Jim: sitting there playing tic tac

  763. Brother Jim: toe or drawing, trying to sketch

  764. Brother Jim: me out unless it's a good

  765. Brother Jim: sketch, but you know, again, you

  766. Brother Jim: never know unless you open up

  767. Brother Jim: the Bible.

  768. Brother Jim: You never know unless you go back.

  769. Brother Jim: So as David said, maybe you need something.

  770. Brother Jim: Just click on a YouTube session

  771. Brother Jim: and it might be the one you

  772. Brother Jim: need.

  773. Brother Jim: We're trying here, our friends.

  774. Brother Jim: We're trying better than nothing, isn't it?

  775. Brother Jim: I think I'll close on that one because I could go.

  776. Brother Jim: Our friends, as we close, please remember you.

  777. Brother Jim: Yes, you have meaning.

  778. Brother Jim: You have value.

  779. Brother Jim: And most of all, you are loved.

  780. Brother Jim: May God continue to bless you and just as well.

  781. Brother Jim: May you and I continue to thank our Lord above for all of our

  782. Brother Jim: blessings each and every day.

  783. Brother Jim: And if we meet again, well then

  784. Brother Jim: we will smile and we're going to

  785. Brother Jim: rejoice.

  786. Brother Jim: We're going to do a little dance.

  787. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  788. Brother Jim: David.

  789. Brother Jim: Woo!

  790. Brother Jim: And if not, then this parting was well made.

  791. Brother Jim: Happy trails to you until we meet again.

  792. Brother Jim: Thank you for joining Dave and

  793. Brother Jim: myself, along with the barnyard

  794. Brother Jim: crew here on Bible bibs and

  795. Brother Jim: prayer.

  796. Brother Jim: This is the big guy, Brother Jim.

  797. Brother Jim: Out.
