Brother Jim: So uh it's funny, I don't turkey hunt, but you know, during deer

Brother Jim: season you see a ton of turkey.

Brother Jim: And during turkey season, you see a ton of deer.

Brother Jim: It's funny how that works.

Brother Jim: One of my best friends in the whole wide world.

Brother Jim: Yes. We try, we try.

Brother Jim: It's the only way I can pay you flattery.

Brother Jim: And maybe a little chocolate, too.

Brother Jim: How was life in Centerville?

Speaker 4: It's good.

Speaker 4: You know, it's a school's about wrapped up now, you know.

Speaker 4: We got about got about a month

Speaker 4: or so left so I can get down to

Speaker 4: the end.

Speaker 4: The weather's finally.

Speaker 4: Sometimes it's rainy, sometimes it's windy, but I don't have to

Speaker 4: shovel or snow blow any of that.

Speaker 4: So I'm good with that.

Brother Jim: Yes. So interesting.

Brother Jim: You said that, uh, my sister in law lives up north.

Brother Jim: Yeah, and they got hail the other day.

Speaker 4: I saw some.

Brother Jim: Videos.

Brother Jim: I am not lying, my friends.

Brother Jim: The hail balls were like that.

Brother Jim: Bigger than golf balls.

Brother Jim: Smaller than baseball.

Speaker 4: I'll see if I can find some

Speaker 4: videos and I'll throw it in

Speaker 4: there.

Brother Jim: It took out one of their windows.

Brother Jim: Wow.

Brother Jim: And all I could help but think

Brother Jim: was those poor people out, you

Brother Jim: know, riding their little

Brother Jim: bicycles or electric bikes,

Brother Jim: jogging, playing a little ball,

Brother Jim: you know, whatever the case may

Brother Jim: be.

Brother Jim: And all of a sudden that unloads on you.

Speaker 4: Man, that had to hurt.

Brother Jim: I wonder how many people yelled incoming.

Brother Jim: Yeah, yeah, I mean it it was like, oh my goodness.

Brother Jim: And I guess it was just a selected area up there.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: So I am so thankful that we did not get anything like that.

Brother Jim: Uh, yes.

Brother Jim: So, uh, anything else going on?

Speaker 4: No, no, not too much.

Speaker 4: That's about.

Speaker 4: I mean, nothing we really

Speaker 4: touched on yet, but how about

Speaker 4: the the space trip to the moon

Speaker 4: and back?

Speaker 4: I mean, we haven't really

Speaker 4: touched on that at all, but that

Speaker 4: was.

Brother Jim: Fill me in on that, if you will.

Brother Jim: I've heard it, but I haven't

Brother Jim: really taken the time to read

Brother Jim: it.

Speaker 4: So I'll maybe lots of people know they don't, I don't know.

Speaker 4: But we recently went around the moon again, which we hadn't done

Speaker 4: in over fifty years.

Speaker 4: And, uh, I was watching some of the interviews when, when those

Speaker 4: astronauts came back and one of them, first of all, just to see

Speaker 4: them come back.

Speaker 4: I think anybody who was

Speaker 4: watching, I was watching it live

Speaker 4: when they came back and there

Speaker 4: was like six minutes where out

Speaker 4: of communication, coming back

Speaker 4: through the the atmosphere

Speaker 4: there.

Speaker 4: And it's like, you know, are they going to make it or are

Speaker 4: they not going to make it?

Speaker 4: You know, and when they finally came back and responded, it was

Speaker 4: just like, I broke down.

Speaker 4: Like it was it was emotional

Speaker 4: that, you know, they made it

Speaker 4: there and they made it back

Speaker 4: safe.

Speaker 4: But then to hear some of their

Speaker 4: their interviews, when they came

Speaker 4: back, the one guy, I don't

Speaker 4: remember their names, but the,

Speaker 4: the, I think the one guy named

Speaker 4: Glover, he's, he's a religious

Speaker 4: guy.

Brother Jim: I heard he made like gave some testimony and praise.

Brother Jim: Correct.

Speaker 4: But the one guy, um, they were doing an interview and he said,

Speaker 4: I don't claim to be a religious person or anything like that.

Speaker 4: He said, but what we saw out

Speaker 4: there when we saw that the, the

Speaker 4: sun go behind the, the moon and

Speaker 4: the earth, he said, when we got

Speaker 4: back on that ship, when we

Speaker 4: landed, he said, I asked for the

Speaker 4: ship chaplain.

Speaker 4: And he said, you know, when because I wanted to talk to him

Speaker 4: about some of the stuff we saw.

Speaker 4: And he said when he walked in, I saw that cross around his neck.

Speaker 4: He said, I just I broke down.

Brother Jim: Really?

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Speaker 4: Wow. And astronaut Glover, he

Speaker 4: said, well, I am a religious

Speaker 4: man.

Speaker 4: And he went on to talk a little

Speaker 4: bit more and he said, I am a

Speaker 4: religious man.

Speaker 4: He said, and I agree with everything that you said.

Speaker 4: He said it was, you know, it was incredible.

Speaker 4: So.

Brother Jim: Oh, yeah.

Speaker 4: Yeah, just an awesome experience.

Brother Jim: I couldn't imagine seeing a whole different in person

Brother Jim: viewing of God's handiwork.

Brother Jim: I mean.

Speaker 4: That's something I would love to do, but we would be scared to

Speaker 4: death to do it, you know?

Brother Jim: Yeah, dude, I'd be number one.

Brother Jim: I don't think I'd make the weight.

Speaker 4: Oh yeah.

Speaker 4: There's that.

Speaker 4: So yeah.

Brother Jim: Yeah, and I'm not exactly a fan of flying either, and I couldn't

Brother Jim: imagine the G-Force.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: On that.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Especially the countdown.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: But you always have such the cool countdown.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: The way it echoes.

Speaker 4: Mhm.

Brother Jim: Yeah. Of course, getting up there is one thing.

Brother Jim: But coming back.

Brother Jim: Right.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: There's been too many movies out there, you know.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Armageddon is one of my favorite.

Brother Jim: Mhm.

Brother Jim: You know, it makes you wonder, though, what if there would be

Brother Jim: an asteroid coming our way?

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: You know, what would we do?

Speaker 4: But, I mean, even that, like the fact that, you know, we have

Speaker 4: that protective barrier that burns all that stuff up and.

Speaker 4: Exactly.

Speaker 4: Like, as far as I know, I think

Speaker 4: we're one of the few planets

Speaker 4: that even have that that

Speaker 4: protects us.

Speaker 4: But then we found a way to get our people back.

Speaker 4: I mean, it's just the whole thing is just incredible.

Brother Jim: And then you have the ones.

Brother Jim: Did we really land on the moon?

Brother Jim: Did we?

Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah. Well, let's not go there, all right?

Brother Jim: We won't go there.

Brother Jim: But yes.

Brother Jim: Welcome back.

Brother Jim: Astronauts.

Brother Jim: Do we still have a space station up there?

Speaker 4: Yeah, we still have space station.

Brother Jim: Okay. I again, I don't really.

Speaker 4: And they've already started preparations for Artemis three.

Speaker 4: I don't know if that's the one that they're gonna.

Speaker 4: They're gonna land on the moon again.

Speaker 4: They have plans to land people on the moon again.

Speaker 4: I'm not sure if that's three or if it's further down the road,

Speaker 4: but yeah, yeah, we're back baby.

Brother Jim: What if we could do a podcast from the moon?

Brother Jim: If they're looking for podcasters or guys like us, just

Brother Jim: think folks, David and Brother Jim, I don't know if the

Brother Jim: barnyard crew could go, but we could tune, you know, we could.

Brother Jim: Wow.

Speaker 4: We might be the first two people

Speaker 4: weightlessness.

Brother Jim: Yes, I'm bringing a scale, brother.

Brother Jim: Taking a picture.

Brother Jim: Make you feel good about yourself.

Brother Jim: Well, I remember back when I was growing up.

Brother Jim: Tang.

Brother Jim: Remember?

Brother Jim: Tang?

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Was like an astronaut drink.

Brother Jim: And, boy, I had to have Tang, you know?

Brother Jim: Yes.

Brother Jim: Good old Tang.

Brother Jim: Uh, can you imagine the, the technology advancements just for

Brother Jim: food and all that?

Brother Jim: And the suits?

Brother Jim: Not even.

Brother Jim: Oh, yeah, the whole ship thing.

Speaker 4: But like everything that they

Speaker 4: went to when they went to the

Speaker 4: Apollo project, everything that

Speaker 4: they went to the moon with,

Speaker 4: like, my phone is smarter than,

Speaker 4: than that.

Speaker 4: And I just made the speakers crackle doing that.

Speaker 4: So sorry about that, folks.

Speaker 4: But yeah.

Brother Jim: I still remember I was down there at, uh, Cape Canaveral.

Brother Jim: Canaveral, Canaveral.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Is that where they launch the

Brother Jim: space shuttles they used to

Brother Jim: launch?

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: We were, I was there watching.

Brother Jim: I got to watch the first lady go in.

Brother Jim: First woman in United States to go into space.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: And again, I was sitting up on top of the motorhome and had the

Brother Jim: wrong launch pad.

Brother Jim: We had a little black and white TV up there, you know, and

Brother Jim: they're doing the countdown.

Brother Jim: I'm like, I don't see anything.

Brother Jim: Hey, dummy, look over.

Brother Jim: You're on the turn that pad.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Oh, I remember that mover.

Brother Jim: They had that rover thing that carried the.

Speaker 4: They still used that or at least in some form.

Speaker 4: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Oh, gigantic with those tracks.

Speaker 4: And it only moves like so many feet a day.

Brother Jim: Yeah, yeah.

Brother Jim: And the cool thing I believe that was a challenger we got to

Brother Jim: watch And we were at Arlington, and I was right at the JFK

Brother Jim: Memorial right there.

Brother Jim: And and I've got pictures.

Brother Jim: I had a little way back, little

Brother Jim: camera, and they were flying

Brother Jim: solo.

Brother Jim: One of them, I don't know what airplane it was, but had the

Brother Jim: challenger on top of it.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Taking it.

Brother Jim: And I'm like, how cool.

Brother Jim: I want to see this in X amount of time.

Brother Jim: You know.

Speaker 4: I think the challenger might have been the one that exploded.

Speaker 4: It might not.

Speaker 4: You saw that one come back in.

Brother Jim: But yeah.

Speaker 4: Before.

Brother Jim: Before.

Speaker 4: Okay.

Brother Jim: Gotcha. Yeah. But it carried and I can't remember her name.

Brother Jim: Carried.

Brother Jim: The first woman.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: First female astronaut in space.

Brother Jim: So yeah, that was cool.

Brother Jim: Thing was huge.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: I mean, yes.

Brother Jim: Uh, have you come across any other good dad jokes lately?

Speaker 4: Well, the other day, I, I, uh, I, uh, I got a new refrigerator

Speaker 4: for my wife.

Speaker 4: I thought that was a heck of a trade.

Speaker 4: Now, folks, these are just jokes.

Speaker 4: I love my wife.

Speaker 4: I'm not trading her for anything.

Speaker 4: They're just jokes.

Brother Jim: I don't want to piggyback off of him.

Brother Jim: I mean, you know, I love my wife.

Brother Jim: Got some, uh, they turned, uh, sister wives.

Brother Jim: My wife used to watch those.

Brother Jim: I'm like, why do you watch this?

Brother Jim: This is such okay, I'm going to say this.

Brother Jim: I know I'm gonna get in trouble,

Brother Jim: but one wife is enough, you

Brother Jim: know?

Brother Jim: Yeah, yeah.

Brother Jim: Or I'm sure a woman could say

Brother Jim: one husband is enough, vice

Brother Jim: versa.

Brother Jim: But to have somebody.

Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I know.

Brother Jim: Uh, I don't know, maybe you guys

Brother Jim: have an explanation for that

Brother Jim: remember another sunrise,

Brother Jim: another chance to shine, a

Brother Jim: chance to show the whole wide

Brother Jim: world and everyone around you

Brother Jim: that you, yes, you are one

Brother Jim: special person.

Brother Jim: We have been blessed.

Brother Jim: You, David, and myself let you.

Brother Jim: know, you are never facing life

Brother Jim: alone on a solo mission because

Brother Jim: we have Jesus rejoice that you

Brother Jim: are alive.

Brother Jim: And when you look in that mirror, remember, oh baby, baby,

Brother Jim: baby, you are beautiful.

Brother Jim: You matter in this world.

Brother Jim: And most of all, oh my goodness, you are loved.

Brother Jim: Now trying to come to the aid of his father who had been stopped

Brother Jim: by an officer for speeding.

Brother Jim: The little tyke in the back piped up, yeah, well, if we're

Brother Jim: speeding, so were you.

Brother Jim: I thought that was a good one.

Brother Jim: Yes.

Brother Jim: Probably didn't help the situation, but, uh.

Brother Jim: Hey, at least he's looking out for his dad.

Speaker 4: That's right.

Brother Jim: And it is true.

Brother Jim: You know, it is true.

Brother Jim: They were speeding, too.

Speaker 4: Yeah. That's right.

Brother Jim: That's a very good point.

Brother Jim: Very good point.

Brother Jim: All right.

Brother Jim: Maybe we got a highway patrolman, a sheriff's deputy, a

Brother Jim: former law enforcement that can pipe in on that and let us know

Brother Jim: how wrong we are, or maybe how right we are.

Brother Jim: And again, I'm going to go on the edge here.

Brother Jim: I have chuckled because in

Brother Jim: certain local towns, David, I

Brother Jim: have seen them come up to a red

Brother Jim: light, hit their lights, go

Brother Jim: through the red light, and then

Brother Jim: shut them off and keep on their

Brother Jim: way.

Speaker 4: I've seen that too.

Speaker 4: Come on.

Speaker 4: I've seen that too.

Brother Jim: And the other one?

Brother Jim: I'm not picking.

Brother Jim: Guys, God bless you for your

Brother Jim: service and being a first

Brother Jim: responder.

Brother Jim: But you know you're not supposed to be on your phone.

Brother Jim: You know how many officers I see on their phone.

Speaker 4: Or their laptop?

Speaker 4: Yeah.

Speaker 4: Well, you're still you can't drive and look at a laptop.

Speaker 4: Come on.

Brother Jim: Well, that goes back to I've

Brother Jim: seen people and I've done it

Brother Jim: myself before.

Brother Jim: We had, uh, the voice from GPS used to be able to print off.

Speaker 4: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Directions. And I know going down when the girls were in, uh,

Brother Jim: basketball, volleyball and that we went down on the river in the

Brother Jim: West Virginia a lot of times.

Brother Jim: So there I am in my little Honda

Brother Jim: Civic steering wheel in one

Brother Jim: hand, trying to read the map in

Brother Jim: the other.

Brother Jim: Oh my goodness.

Brother Jim: Wow.

Brother Jim: Alrighty.

Brother Jim: Our thought of the day.

Brother Jim: Give your life to God.

Brother Jim: He can do more with it than you can Dwight Moody.

Brother Jim: As we continue in this journey of why salvation is so important

Brother Jim: to all of mankind.

Brother Jim: Let us ask, how does salvation work?

Brother Jim: And this, this, this is where Jesus comes in.

Brother Jim: Romans five eight says, But God shows his love for us, that

Brother Jim: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Brother Jim: So let us walk through what that really means.

Brother Jim: Number one, God showed his love for us.

Brother Jim: This tells us something important right away.

Brother Jim: Right off the bat, God does not

Brother Jim: just say he loves you, he loves

Brother Jim: us.

Brother Jim: He proved it and he continues to prove it.

Brother Jim: His love is not just words or feelings.

Brother Jim: How good we are that we can just go through the motions.

Brother Jim: It is something he acted out.

Brother Jim: Think about that.

Brother Jim: He acted out.

Brother Jim: Now, David, good intentions, right?

Brother Jim: We all have good intentions.

Brother Jim: But do they always happen?

Brother Jim: Do we make promises that sometimes maybe we know we won't

Brother Jim: complete or accomplish just to make someone feel good, or

Brother Jim: sometimes it just becomes too much and we miss out.

Speaker 4: Yep. Both ways.

Speaker 4: Absolutely.

Brother Jim: Yes. So something to think about there.

Brother Jim: Let that apply to our lives.

Brother Jim: Number two, while we were still

Brother Jim: sinners, this is the powerful

Brother Jim: part.

Brother Jim: God did not wait until until we got our lives together.

Brother Jim: You got your life together, David.

Speaker 4: Not even close.

Brother Jim: Working on it, but not even close.

Speaker 4: Yes.

Brother Jim: How about you folks got your life all together?

Brother Jim: Yeah, probably still working on it.

Brother Jim: We started doing everything right.

Brother Jim: This podcast with me alone.

Brother Jim: Still not doing it right.

Brother Jim: So that right there.

Brother Jim: Yes.

Brother Jim: I mean, good golly, I talked to a fake pig and a chicken and a

Brother Jim: monkey and a turkey.

Brother Jim: At least I got David over here who's live.

Brother Jim: So at least people don't think I'm totally off the rails.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: But yeah, start doing everything right.

Brother Jim: We're still going to fail.

Brother Jim: We become good enough.

Brother Jim: Good enough.

Brother Jim: Have you ever had a moment in your life where it was just bad?

Brother Jim: You were ugly, you were bad.

Brother Jim: And I'm not talking physically.

Brother Jim: I'm talking internally.

Brother Jim: You stunk.

Brother Jim: You stink.

Brother Jim: Rotting.

Brother Jim: Been there.

Brother Jim: You can.

Brother Jim: That all applies to me.

Brother Jim: But he still loved me.

Brother Jim: Thank God for that.

Brother Jim: And he still loves you.

Brother Jim: And that's one thing, David, I think, where sometimes we get a

Brother Jim: little off the reservation in religion in the church.

Brother Jim: Jesus met people where they were at.

Brother Jim: I truly believe that.

Speaker 4: Absolutely.

Brother Jim: Why aren't we meeting people where they are at to tell them

Brother Jim: that there's a better way?

Brother Jim: Instead of judging them, instead of scorning them?

Brother Jim: Instead of sticking our good old

Brother Jim: self-righteous nose up in the

Brother Jim: air.

Brother Jim: Come on.

Brother Jim: We do it.

Brother Jim: Meeting people where they're at.

Brother Jim: God did not turn away.

Brother Jim: He moved toward us.

Brother Jim: God didn't turn away from you.

Brother Jim: God didn't turn away from me.

Brother Jim: And he's still not turning away.

Brother Jim: Think about that.

Brother Jim: Got any, uh, any things you're dealing with, David in life?

Brother Jim: I would guess, yes.

Brother Jim: Correct.

Speaker 4: Oh, sure.

Speaker 4: Absolutely.

Brother Jim: Worry, struggles.

Speaker 4: Problems every day.

Brother Jim: Inner inner reflection on man.

Brother Jim: David.

Brother Jim: And David's a therapist, too, in case you didn't know that.

Brother Jim: Yes.

Brother Jim: Thank goodness he doesn't charge for it.

Brother Jim: He's my sounding board.

Brother Jim: But yeah, we all have our issues, our frustrations.

Brother Jim: But he still doesn't turn away from us.

Brother Jim: Number three, Christ died for us.

Brother Jim: This explains how God showed his love.

Brother Jim: Jesus gave his life for us.

Brother Jim: That means you.

Brother Jim: That means me.

Brother Jim: That means the guy sitting on death row who I'm going to go

Brother Jim: deep on this.

Brother Jim: Even those nasty, dirty people

Brother Jim: who do horrible things to

Brother Jim: children.

Brother Jim: David.

Brother Jim: That's a tough one.

Brother Jim: As a father, as a man, as a husband.

Brother Jim: I can't help but think of Jeffrey Dahmer.

Brother Jim: He did that, she did this.

Brother Jim: She was this in a previous life, you know, before, even though

Brother Jim: she says she's now with Jesus.

Brother Jim: Oh, no. She carries all this baggage.

Brother Jim: You got baggage?

Brother Jim: I got enough to fill probably twenty airplanes full.

Brother Jim: That's just starting.

Brother Jim: But again, Christ, he wipes away

Brother Jim: our sins from the east to the

Brother Jim: west.

Brother Jim: Thank God for that.

Brother Jim: Thank you, Lord, for that.

Brother Jim: But again, Jesus gave his life for us.

Brother Jim: He took the punishment for sin that was ours.

Brother Jim: He. Jesus stepped in our place.

Brother Jim: Jesus paid the price we could

Brother Jim: not pay and this was no

Brother Jim: accident.

Brother Jim: It was intentional, intentional love.

Brother Jim: I can't help but think a good father, you got God up there.

Brother Jim: We're messing it up.

Brother Jim: We're messing it up, and we

Brother Jim: still continue to mess it up

Brother Jim: again.

Brother Jim: Go back to Noah.

Brother Jim: He was ready to wipe out the whole Oh, just.

Speaker 4: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Yeah, but he's seen at least one

Brother Jim: righteous man, and that was

Brother Jim: enough.

Brother Jim: We were just talking about Sodom and Gomorrah.

Brother Jim: Sodom and Gomorrah with lot a whole city.

Brother Jim: But he seen one righteous man.

Brother Jim: What does he see in you, my friends?

Brother Jim: What does he see in me?

Brother Jim: Can be beautiful.

Brother Jim: It can be ugly.

Brother Jim: Name the day.

Brother Jim: If we're being honest.

Brother Jim: Simple meaning from Romans five eight is saying, God loves you,

Brother Jim: my friend, deeply, and especially if you're off in some

Brother Jim: far off country.

Brother Jim: And I can't even begin to imagine some of the countries

Brother Jim: that follow us or what's going in our world today.

Brother Jim: God loves you deeply.

Brother Jim: Our brothers and sisters in

Brother Jim: Nigeria, what is going on over

Brother Jim: there?

Brother Jim: Over in the Middle East, man.

Brother Jim: Remember, remember, God loves you deeply.

Brother Jim: And I don't know why you're going through this.

Brother Jim: The people of Nigeria are being

Brother Jim: slayed, massacred, slaughtered

Brother Jim: because of their belief being

Brother Jim: martyred.

Brother Jim: But man, can you imagine heaven for them standing up?

Brother Jim: We we struggle with.

Brother Jim: Should I go to church today?

Brother Jim: Here's an interesting fact I just heard David.

Brother Jim: It was about ten years ago.

Brother Jim: I went to a conference.

Brother Jim: If you were considered full time

Brother Jim: going to church, guess how many

Brother Jim: Sundays you had to attend out of

Brother Jim: the month to be considered full

Brother Jim: time?

Speaker 4: I would think three of the four.

Speaker 4: Two.

Brother Jim: Now that was about at least ten.

Speaker 4: That's half.

Brother Jim: ten to twelve.

Brother Jim: Guess what we're down to now.

Brother Jim: One, one.

Speaker 4: Exactly.

Brother Jim: one Sunday a month, and you're

Brother Jim: considered full time, ladies and

Brother Jim: gentlemen.

Brother Jim: Now, if that applied to our work, wouldn't that be great?

Brother Jim: You know, out of five days, you only show up one, you're

Brother Jim: considered full time.

Speaker 4: I get behind that.

Brother Jim: Yeah, I get behind that, too.

Brother Jim: But unfortunately, we're talking

Brother Jim: more than about a career making

Brother Jim: money.

Brother Jim: We're talking about salvation.

Brother Jim: So what are you doing?

Brother Jim: Number one.

Brother Jim: Or for those three other Sundays.

Brother Jim: What are you doing?

Brother Jim: What are you doing now?

Brother Jim: I understand people have

Brother Jim: physical issues that don't, you

Brother Jim: know.

Brother Jim: I get that, but at least they're tuning in.

Brother Jim: They're still in their Bible.

Brother Jim: They're listening to pastors.

Brother Jim: They're listening to services.

Brother Jim: The message, hey, you're right there with us.

Brother Jim: But, uh, David, this looks like a beautiful day to go golfing.

Brother Jim: Looks like a beautiful day to go.

Brother Jim: Oh, man.

Brother Jim: Got a big one.

Brother Jim: Or Bloomingdale's has got a sale.

Brother Jim: I don't know if Bloomingdale's still even.

Speaker 4: I don't even know if they still are.

Brother Jim: Yeah. Excuses, excuses, excuses.

Brother Jim: But here again, God still loves

Brother Jim: us deeply, even with our

Brother Jim: excuses.

Brother Jim: And again, he provided it through Jesus.

Brother Jim: He did it before you even ever, ever deserved it.

Brother Jim: And why this matters?

Brother Jim: This changes how you see God.

Brother Jim: At least I hope it does.

Brother Jim: You do not have to earn his love.

Brother Jim: As we talked about it works is not going to get you there.

Brother Jim: Being a good person is not going to get you there.

Brother Jim: You do not have to clean yourself up first.

Brother Jim: You do not have to wonder if he cares.

Brother Jim: It's already set in stone.

Brother Jim: Jesus already showed it.

Brother Jim: And it also changes how you and I should respond.

Brother Jim: You do not follow God to earn his love.

Brother Jim: You follow him because he already loves you.

Brother Jim: And I can't help but think as being a parent.

Brother Jim: Even though you didn't see your child before birth.

Brother Jim: You loved him, did you not, David?

Speaker 4: Of course.

Brother Jim: Yeah. So think of it that way.

Brother Jim: One simple way to remember it.

Brother Jim: God did not wait for you to be good.

Brother Jim: He loved you when you were not.

Brother Jim: Not when we had it all together.

Brother Jim: Not when you and I deserved it.

Brother Jim: While we were still sinners.

Brother Jim: Still sinning.

Brother Jim: Jesus stepped in and did for us

Brother Jim: what we could not do for

Brother Jim: ourselves.

Brother Jim: He lived a perfect life.

Brother Jim: He died on the cross and that death was not random.

Brother Jim: It was intentional.

Brother Jim: Jesus took our place.

Brother Jim: Imagine you owed a debt so big you could never pay it.

Brother Jim: And for a lot of people, just look at your credit cards and

Brother Jim: your mortgage and car payment.

Brother Jim: Add it all up.

Brother Jim: Are we ever going to get out of debt?

Brother Jim: Well, someone walks in and just think of that.

Brother Jim: Wouldn't it be great, Dave, if someone walks in and says, I'll

Brother Jim: take care of all your debt?

Speaker 4: Oh wow.

Brother Jim: Wow, here's a cheque.

Brother Jim: Well, that's what Jesus did.

Brother Jim: Then Jesus rose again, proving that sin and death could not,

Brother Jim: would not, and did not win.

Brother Jim: Salvation works like this.

Brother Jim: Jesus paid the price.

Brother Jim: God offers the gift.

Brother Jim: We receive it by faith.

Brother Jim: We just talked about just touched the surface on faith.

Brother Jim: The other episode.

Brother Jim: Think about it.

Brother Jim: And let me ask you this, my friends, as we close here, what

Brother Jim: what do you think?

Brother Jim: What kept you from accepting it at an earlier age?

Brother Jim: And maybe if you're listening right now, what is keeping you

Brother Jim: from accepting his salvation?

Brother Jim: Good question.

Brother Jim: Is it not?

Brother Jim: Honest question.

Brother Jim: David.

Brother Jim: What keeps people?

Brother Jim: What keeps people from taking the free gift?

Speaker 4: In my mind is they like what they're doing.

Brother Jim: They like their.

Speaker 4: Sin. Yeah. They're not.

Speaker 4: They like their lifestyle.

Speaker 4: They're not thinking, you know what comes beyond, oh.

Brother Jim: But David, I've got time.

Brother Jim: I got a life to live the way I want it.

Brother Jim: And when I get old, then I'll have time for God.

Speaker 4: Yeah.

Brother Jim: What happens?

Brother Jim: You know what tomorrow brings?

Speaker 4: Nope.

Brother Jim: This could be it for you and I.

Speaker 4: Absolutely.

Brother Jim: I could kill over choking on a

Brother Jim: big old piece of steak or a

Brother Jim: potato chip.

Brother Jim: You don't.

Speaker 4: Know?

Speaker 4: Yep.

Brother Jim: We don't know.

Brother Jim: So again, that is a heck of a gamble to take my friends.

Brother Jim: A gamble on eternity.

Brother Jim: And I was young and dumb two at a time.

Brother Jim: And I had that same thought.

Brother Jim: I knew I knew who God was, I

Brother Jim: knew what Jesus did, but I was

Brother Jim: not ready to commit to live a

Brother Jim: lifestyle.

Brother Jim: Because I was having too much fun again, I figured.

Brother Jim: And guess what?

Brother Jim: I'm at that age now, you know?

Brother Jim: Wow, how quickly you get there.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: And then you look back and go, what a waste, what a waste.

Brother Jim: What I could have been doing for God and for the kingdom.

Brother Jim: But I have to.

Brother Jim: I have to answer for that.

Brother Jim: Just like you.

Brother Jim: Just like everybody.

Brother Jim: We all have to answer for it.

Brother Jim: Something to chew on, my

Brother Jim: friends, as we start out the

Speaker 4: And, you know, I start seeing obituaries of his brother.

Speaker 4: Jim is just shaking his head because I'm, I'm a little bit

Speaker 4: younger than he is.

Speaker 4: But, you know, you see that hurt, that hurt.

Speaker 4: But you see the obituaries

Speaker 4: where, you know, people my age

Speaker 4: are just keeling over of cancer

Speaker 4: or, you know, killed in an

Speaker 4: automobile.

Speaker 4: Reality sets in pretty quick.

Speaker 4: The older you get, you know, your days aren't promised to

Speaker 4: you, you know.

Brother Jim: Oh, brother.

Brother Jim: A little over two years ago, the big widow maker.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Not that I was shocked, but I was shocked.

Speaker 4: Right.

Brother Jim: Yeah. And it could have been

Brother Jim: very easily that lights out

Brother Jim: curtain call.

Brother Jim: That's it.

Brother Jim: But it it it it.

Brother Jim: That's all folks.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: But it wasn't.

Brother Jim: But again, man, you're gambling with something.

Brother Jim: My friends.

Brother Jim: If you don't know Christ as your

Brother Jim: Lord and Savior, if you're not

Brother Jim: repented of your sins, and if

Brother Jim: you're not allowing the Holy

Brother Jim: Spirit to convict you to be

Brother Jim: transformed.

Brother Jim: I, I'm really wondering, man, or what?

Brother Jim: What are you smoking, dude?

Brother Jim: Just to put it in my terms.

Brother Jim: What are you smoking?

Brother Jim: You're smoking the wrong stuff.

Brother Jim: Uh. Big question.

Brother Jim: And how many of us out there

Brother Jim: struggle with our loved ones,

Brother Jim: our family, friends, our kids,

Brother Jim: our grandkids, or, you know, you

Brother Jim: name it?

Brother Jim: You wonder in your mind, what are they thinking, man?

Brother Jim: Especially look at the news today, the world today.

Brother Jim: You never know.

Brother Jim: Yeah.
