  28. Brother Jim: Jolly joy.

  29. Brother Jim: A little bit of everything.

  30. Brother Jim: Welcome back to the podcast.

  31. Brother Jim: You keep listening to for

  32. Brother Jim: reasons David and I, we just

  33. Brother Jim: can't understand.

  34. Brother Jim: Come on, admit it.

  35. Brother Jim: You love us.

  36. Brother Jim: Come on, admit it.

  37. Brother Jim: Smile.

  38. Brother Jim: You love us.

  39. Brother Jim: So grab your coffee, ignore your

  40. Brother Jim: responsibilities for a little

  41. Brother Jim: bit and let us get into it,

  42. Brother Jim: shall we?

  43. Brother Jim: Hey, friends.

  44. Brother Jim: You know, every time I take my dog to the park, the ducks try

  45. Brother Jim: to bite him.

  46. Brother Jim: That's why I. What I get for buying a purebred dog.

  47. Brother Jim: Get it?

  48. Brother Jim: Bred dog.

  49. Brother Jim: Uh. And hey, oddly, honey, this one's for you.

  50. Brother Jim: Why shouldn't pigs drive?

  51. Brother Jim: Don't get upset.

  52. Brother Jim: Any idea?

  53. Brother Jim: David?

  54. David: I have no idea.

  55. Brother Jim: They hog the road.

  56. Brother Jim: Sorry, baby.

  57. Brother Jim: It's okay.

  58. Brother Jim: Yes, it's double joke.

  59. Brother Jim: Thursday.

  60. Brother Jim: Thank you.

  61. Brother Jim: David.

  62. Brother Jim: What a blessing.

  63. Brother Jim: Yes, the barnyard crew is here.

  64. Brother Jim: Dan the chicken.

  65. Brother Jim: We got grumpy Lynn.

  66. Brother Jim: I got Tom the turkey and Miss Ida Lee.

  67. Brother Jim: Yes, they are all here joining us today.

  68. Brother Jim: So in saying that, good morning to you, our friends.

  69. Brother Jim: Good morning world.

  70. Brother Jim: Let us thank God for another beautiful day, another breath

  71. Brother Jim: and another opportunity to grow.

  72. Brother Jim: And I hope you're growing in

  73. Brother Jim: Christ here on Bible bibs and a

  74. Brother Jim: prayer.

  75. Brother Jim: We start our day with gratitude, good conversation, bad jokes,

  76. Brother Jim: and positive energy.

  77. Brother Jim: Let's turn this in to.

  78. Brother Jim: Let's turn this from a conversation into an experience.

  79. Brother Jim: Allow me to introduce now my co-host.

  80. Brother Jim: If I am the sermon, he is the

  81. Brother Jim: illustration that makes you

  82. Brother Jim: remember it whether you want to

  83. Brother Jim: or not.

  84. Brother Jim: Allow me to be honest.

  85. Brother Jim: This is the person I trust to read scripture correctly, but

  86. Brother Jim: not to operate the church's thermostat without supervision.

  87. Brother Jim: Say hello to a man among men, a

  88. Brother Jim: face that only a mother could

  89. Brother Jim: love.

  90. Brother Jim: Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages,

  91. Brother Jim: including all pets and creatures of the land, air and sea.

  92. Brother Jim: Please welcome the one, the

  93. Brother Jim: only, Mr. David Keener, plus one

  94. Brother Jim: of my best friends in the whole

  95. Brother Jim: wide world.

  96. Brother Jim: Good morning, my friend.

  97. David: Good morning.

  98. David: And I would argue that, um.

  99. David: What am I doing here again?

  100. David: I'm messing stuff up.

  101. David: Stop it.

  102. David: There we go.

  103. David: Jeez.

  104. David: I would argue that I'm one of

  105. David: the few people that you can

  106. David: trust to touch the church

  107. David: thermostat, because you and I

  108. David: are on the same wavelength

  109. David: there.

  110. David: I'm gonna keep it about sixty five in here.

  111. David: Yeah, there we go.

  112. Brother Jim: There we go.

  113. Brother Jim: Yes. How is life in Kingsville?

  114. David: It's good, it's good.

  115. David: The weekend is upon us, and I don't know quite what's planned

  116. David: yet, but that's okay.

  117. David: It's not work.

  118. David: So that's.

  119. David: That's all that matters.

  120. Brother Jim: Yes, yes, the weekends are an adventure.

  121. Brother Jim: And I've noticed lately the wife and the child, they tend to

  122. Brother Jim: disappear on Saturdays.

  123. Brother Jim: Yes, yes.

  124. Brother Jim: Uh, it's kind of an odd coincidence.

  125. David: But mine do that too.

  126. David: And I gotta say, I'm.

  127. David: I'm not really upset about it because I can get stuff done

  128. David: that needs done.

  129. Brother Jim: Well, yeah, it's always be nice

  130. Brother Jim: for a couple helpful hands out

  131. Brother Jim: there, so.

  132. Brother Jim: But yeah, I can't complain.

  133. Brother Jim: Uh, so yeah, we're just sounds like we're both kind of in the,

  134. Brother Jim: the, the, the, the bucket here of not knowing what's going to

  135. Brother Jim: come along for the weekend.

  136. David: Yeah. Yeah. But that's okay.

  137. David: Sometimes it's nice to have just

  138. David: yeah, whatever happens, happens

  139. David: weekends.

  140. Brother Jim: Well, if it's nice, I guarantee you I'll be out there working on

  141. Brother Jim: a farmer's tan.

  142. David: There you go.

  143. Brother Jim: Yeah. While I was off, I got a pretty nice farmer's tan.

  144. Brother Jim: You can tell boy.

  145. Brother Jim: Tank top city.

  146. Brother Jim: Take it off.

  147. Brother Jim: And who put the shirt back on for?

  148. Brother Jim: More than.

  149. Brother Jim: Other than one reason other than

  150. Brother Jim: I'm killing you with my

  151. Brother Jim: whiteness.

  152. Brother Jim: But, uh.

  153. Brother Jim: Um.

  154. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  155. Brother Jim: Uh. Oh, I forgot to add, uh, got

  156. Brother Jim: the daughter Ellie out there,

  157. Brother Jim: put her on the Steiner with the

  158. Brother Jim: bucket.

  159. Brother Jim: And by golly, she was a good little driver.

  160. Brother Jim: She helped haul, uh, rocks in for me.

  161. Brother Jim: Nice.

  162. Brother Jim: So. Yes, yes.

  163. Brother Jim: So, uh, don't know if I'm ready

  164. Brother Jim: to throw her on the mower yet or

  165. Brother Jim: not.

  166. Brother Jim: Uh, because that's my thing.

  167. David: Yeah, that's.

  168. Brother Jim: My, my think time, so.

  169. David: I know what you mean.

  170. Brother Jim: Yeah. Could throw her on the weed eater, though.

  171. Brother Jim: But I'm so anal about that.

  172. Brother Jim: That's the bad thing.

  173. Brother Jim: I'm my own worst critic.

  174. Brother Jim: Instead of taking help when offered.

  175. Brother Jim: Nah, I got it.

  176. David: Because, yeah.

  177. Brother Jim: My pride, my.

  178. Brother Jim: They're not going to do it right.

  179. David: I understand.

  180. David: I'm the same way like I people.

  181. David: My wife would love to mow the yard, but I wanted a certain way

  182. David: and I'm going to be unhappy if it's not a certain way.

  183. David: So rather than start that fight, I'm just, you know, I'll do it.

  184. Brother Jim: Yeah, I'll do it.

  185. Brother Jim: Yes, yes.

  186. Brother Jim: Uh, I can't remember if we talked about this.

  187. Brother Jim: We probably, I don't remember.

  188. Brother Jim: You'll have to remind me.

  189. Brother Jim: It's been so long, but, uh, I was asking about weed killer,

  190. Brother Jim: and somebody, uh, sent Holly Reichman sent me a message.

  191. Brother Jim: Try this stuff.

  192. Brother Jim: Got it at Lowe's.

  193. Brother Jim: It's like the super on steroids.

  194. Brother Jim: Mhm.

  195. Brother Jim: Because I have a lot of thistles and the one big flower bed.

  196. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  197. Brother Jim: Oh my goodness dude.

  198. Brother Jim: I'll get, uh, I'll take a I'll, I'll bring in the name of it.

  199. Brother Jim: I sprayed it in the afternoon.

  200. Brother Jim: By evening you could see the little one starting to wilt.

  201. Brother Jim: I went out the next day less than twenty four hours.

  202. Brother Jim: They were dying and now they are

  203. Brother Jim: nothing but almost dust in the

  204. Brother Jim: wind.

  205. Brother Jim: So, uh, I was impressed.

  206. David: It's good stuff.

  207. Brother Jim: Oh, it is, it is.

  208. Brother Jim: I was thinking about taking a snort, but I decided not to.

  209. Brother Jim: Oh. All righty then.

  210. Brother Jim: The week has almost come to an end, friends.

  211. Brother Jim: What have you done to make this past week?

  212. Brother Jim: To make a difference in God's kingdom?

  213. Brother Jim: To make a difference in someone's life.

  214. Brother Jim: And hey, you still got time.

  215. Brother Jim: As we say, the weekend is almost here.

  216. Brother Jim: Time to do something good.

  217. Brother Jim: So saddle up.

  218. Brother Jim: Let's make sure our hats are straight as we hit that brand

  219. Brother Jim: new weekend trail together.

  220. Brother Jim: Come on, come on, come on, friends, you're almost there.

  221. Brother Jim: To the finish line for the week.

  222. Brother Jim: You can do it.

  223. Brother Jim: Now, a Pre-birth class was aimed at couples who already had at

  224. Brother Jim: least one child.

  225. Brother Jim: The instructor raised the issue

  226. Brother Jim: of breaking the news to the

  227. Brother Jim: older child.

  228. Brother Jim: It went like this.

  229. Brother Jim: Some parents, she said, tell the

  230. Brother Jim: older child, we love you so

  231. Brother Jim: much.

  232. Brother Jim: We decided to bring another child into this family.

  233. Brother Jim: But think about that, ladies.

  234. Brother Jim: What if your husband.

  235. Brother Jim: Now, here we go.

  236. Brother Jim: This is pretty good.

  237. Brother Jim: Ladies, what if your husband came home one day and said,

  238. Brother Jim: honey, I love you so much.

  239. Brother Jim: I decided to bring home another wife.

  240. Brother Jim: One of the woman's.

  241. Brother Jim: One of the women spoke up immediately.

  242. Brother Jim: Does she cook?

  243. Brother Jim: And we are getting down to almost, uh, time.

  244. Brother Jim: David with our daughter Michaela.

  245. Brother Jim: She is almost ready any time now.

  246. Brother Jim: So when I was thinking of Dawson, our grandson, he's

  247. Brother Jim: excited for baby Emma or Emmie.

  248. Brother Jim: Whoa.

  249. Brother Jim: I'm going to get in trouble for that one.

  250. Brother Jim: Emmie.

  251. Brother Jim: But, uh, you know, he's a little past two.

  252. Brother Jim: How's he going to share when.

  253. David: That could be interesting.

  254. Brother Jim: And plus, the attention the baby's getting.

  255. Brother Jim: So, you know, of course, El Padre's here to take care of

  256. Brother Jim: that for him.

  257. Brother Jim: So yeah, today's thought is we continue.

  258. Brother Jim: We've went from salvation wise salvation important.

  259. Brother Jim: This past Tuesday we discussed

  260. Brother Jim: do you believe in heaven and

  261. Brother Jim: hell?

  262. Brother Jim: Well, today's thought hell is not God's desire.

  263. Brother Jim: It is the result of rejecting his love.

  264. Brother Jim: Oh my.

  265. Brother Jim: We kind of touched surface on

  266. Brother Jim: that scratch the surface last

  267. Brother Jim: week on that about or excuse me,

  268. Brother Jim: last Tuesday, this past Tuesday

  269. Brother Jim: on God does not send people to

  270. Brother Jim: hell.

  271. Brother Jim: We make that choice.

  272. Brother Jim: So what is hell?

  273. Brother Jim: Now, last Tuesday here we read Luke sixteen to nineteen.

  274. Brother Jim: There the thirty.

  275. Brother Jim: Luke sixteen nineteen to thirty one, talking about Lazarus and

  276. Brother Jim: the rich man.

  277. Brother Jim: Kind of more well known story from the Bible.

  278. Brother Jim: But today we're dealing with a topic many people avoid.

  279. Brother Jim: But Jesus, he sure did not avoid it.

  280. Brother Jim: He spoke clearly about heaven

  281. Brother Jim: and he also spoke clearly about

  282. Brother Jim: hell.

  283. Brother Jim: Now, from Tuesday's episode, have you given it some thought?

  284. Brother Jim: Do you believe in heaven?

  285. Brother Jim: Do you believe in hell?

  286. Brother Jim: Hopefully you've come to the conclusion.

  287. Brother Jim: Yes, brother Jim.

  288. Brother Jim: David.

  289. Brother Jim: I believe in both.

  290. Brother Jim: But if we take Scripture seriously, we have to ask the

  291. Brother Jim: question, what is hell?

  292. Brother Jim: And this past Tuesday I was asked, I quizzed David, I put

  293. Brother Jim: him on the spot.

  294. Brother Jim: You know about hell, what our

  295. Brother Jim: society, what the world has

  296. Brother Jim: deemed.

  297. Brother Jim: And we've kind of turned it into a party, have we not?

  298. Brother Jim: David?

  299. David: We have.

  300. Brother Jim: Yes. You know, little man

  301. Brother Jim: running around, you know, with

  302. Brother Jim: pitchfork and horns and, you

  303. Brother Jim: know, all his little goons

  304. Brother Jim: running around.

  305. Brother Jim: But friends, hell is real, not symbolic.

  306. Brother Jim: In Luke sixteen, as we discussed

  307. Brother Jim: Tuesday, Jesus tells of a rich

  308. Brother Jim: man who dies and finds himself

  309. Brother Jim: in torment.

  310. Brother Jim: This is not presented as imagination or exaggeration.

  311. Brother Jim: It's not a fable.

  312. Brother Jim: Jesus describes it as a real place with suffering.

  313. Brother Jim: And as we discussed Tuesday, David, separation but suffering.

  314. Brother Jim: How do we suffer in this world, David?

  315. David: Well, we can.

  316. Brother Jim: Some of the things we suffer from.

  317. David: We can suffer in our bodies with pain and things like that.

  318. David: We can suffer financially, not

  319. David: having enough money to pay the

  320. David: bills and can suffer in

  321. David: relationships.

  322. David: I mean, the list goes on, right?

  323. Brother Jim: Yeah. Mentally. Yep. Depression, loneliness.

  324. Brother Jim: Mental illness.

  325. Brother Jim: I'm not good enough.

  326. David: Yeah.

  327. Brother Jim: Nobody likes me.

  328. Brother Jim: Why doesn't anybody love me?

  329. Brother Jim: Do I matter in this world?

  330. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  331. Brother Jim: That's all part of suffering now.

  332. Brother Jim: Physically.

  333. Brother Jim: Oh my goodness.

  334. Brother Jim: The list goes on and on.

  335. Brother Jim: Personal experience on that one, folks.

  336. Brother Jim: Why, Lord?

  337. Brother Jim: Why does David have a nice patch

  338. Brother Jim: of hair on his head and I do

  339. Brother Jim: not.

  340. Brother Jim: Why did I not grow to be six six?

  341. Brother Jim: Why did I not get a shot in the

  342. Brother Jim: NFL, the NBA, or the Major

  343. Brother Jim: League?

  344. Brother Jim: The list goes on, but it turns into.

  345. Brother Jim: As I've thought about this, it all connects to us, right?

  346. Brother Jim: What about God's will?

  347. Brother Jim: What about God's free will?

  348. Brother Jim: Again, let's let these two words sink in this morning, shall we?

  349. Brother Jim: Suffering and separation.

  350. Brother Jim: Hell, my friends, is not a myth to scare people.

  351. Brother Jim: No. it is a biblical reality.

  352. Brother Jim: Now today's Hollywood entertainment.

  353. Brother Jim: Now, David, I'm a fan.

  354. Brother Jim: I hate to admit it, but, you

  355. Brother Jim: know, back in the eighties, we

  356. Brother Jim: had all the good old scary

  357. Brother Jim: movies.

  358. Brother Jim: Yeah, Hollywood in my opinion.

  359. Brother Jim: My opinion alone has taken it to a demonic realm now.

  360. David: Oh yeah.

  361. Brother Jim: It went from good old Jason

  362. Brother Jim: chasing people or Freddy to

  363. Brother Jim: things that make your hair on

  364. Brother Jim: your neck.

  365. Brother Jim: Still got hair there.

  366. Brother Jim: Tingle.

  367. Brother Jim: You look around.

  368. Brother Jim: Satan's not hiding anymore, is he?

  369. David: No.

  370. Brother Jim: And as society is a fallen,

  371. Brother Jim: sinful nation world, we're

  372. Brother Jim: creating more and more doors to

  373. Brother Jim: open.

  374. Brother Jim: Just in my opinion, again to hell, are we not?

  375. Brother Jim: We are.

  376. Brother Jim: I mean, we are just that we're not dabbling anymore.

  377. Brother Jim: We're we're right in the mix of it.

  378. Brother Jim: There's.

  379. Brother Jim: Because there's no thought to what we're actually doing.

  380. Brother Jim: Think about that, what we're producing today.

  381. Brother Jim: And you know, with all the I

  382. Brother Jim: can't wait for Hollywood to

  383. Brother Jim: finally break open for the

  384. Brother Jim: singing industry.

  385. Brother Jim: They're starting to come out on the rituals, demonic rituals you

  386. Brother Jim: have to go through.

  387. Brother Jim: MM. Makes you think, is it true?

  388. Brother Jim: How does a nobody all of a sudden go to a rock star?

  389. David: Yeah.

  390. Brother Jim: How does a nobody become a Oscar

  391. Brother Jim: winner or number one movie,

  392. Brother Jim: which David and I was just

  393. Brother Jim: discussing.

  394. Brother Jim: Going to the movies is a bum anymore.

  395. Brother Jim: It's just a bumming moment because there's no good movies.

  396. Brother Jim: Hey, we'll do a remake from

  397. Brother Jim: Something Spectacular from the

  398. Brother Jim: eighties.

  399. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  400. Brother Jim: I mean, I'm sorry, but with

  401. Brother Jim: Footloose, Kevin Bacon steals

  402. Brother Jim: the show.

  403. Brother Jim: You know, I, I refuse to watch

  404. Brother Jim: any remakes other than Red Dawn

  405. Brother Jim: two.

  406. Brother Jim: That that was pretty good.

  407. Brother Jim: But, uh.

  408. Brother Jim: Again.

  409. Brother Jim: Jesus spoke more about it as we discussed Tuesday, spoke about

  410. Brother Jim: hell more than just about anybody else in the Bible.

  411. Brother Jim: And again, listen to me.

  412. Brother Jim: Not to frighten, but to warn.

  413. Brother Jim: Now, David, if you love

  414. Brother Jim: somebody, you see them heading

  415. Brother Jim: for trouble.

  416. Brother Jim: Aren't you going to warn them?

  417. David: Yeah, absolutely.

  418. Brother Jim: If you see him, too, they're

  419. Brother Jim: going into a life threatening

  420. Brother Jim: situation that could take their

  421. Brother Jim: life.

  422. Brother Jim: You're going to warn them, right?

  423. David: Certainly.

  424. Brother Jim: Because you're doing it out of love, right?

  425. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  426. Brother Jim: But today's society, today's world, you're a hater.

  427. Brother Jim: You're a hater because the devil has introduced this lifestyle

  428. Brother Jim: that you are entitled.

  429. Brother Jim: David.

  430. Brother Jim: You are entitled viewers to

  431. Brother Jim: choose whatever you choose to

  432. Brother Jim: live.

  433. Brother Jim: Hey, if I wanted to marry Ida

  434. Brother Jim: Lee, don't I have that right

  435. Brother Jim: now?

  436. David: David, that's what.

  437. Brother Jim: They tell you to marry this fake pig.

  438. Brother Jim: Sorry, baby.

  439. Brother Jim: Or Tom?

  440. Brother Jim: The turkey here.

  441. Brother Jim: It's okay dude.

  442. Brother Jim: Do you realize, my friends, that I was reading up on this.

  443. Brother Jim: We have come to a place in our

  444. Brother Jim: country today where it's okay

  445. Brother Jim: for Mama and her son to get

  446. Brother Jim: married.

  447. Brother Jim: Check it out my friends.

  448. Brother Jim: It's becoming more and more now.

  449. Brother Jim: That's kind of a sick perversion, is it not?

  450. Brother Jim: Or mom and daughter.

  451. David: They said, uh, fifteen, twenty years ago, they started saying,

  452. David: love is love.

  453. David: You can't tell people who to love.

  454. David: And I knew the minute they opened that box.

  455. David: Where do you draw the line when you say love is love?

  456. Brother Jim: Yep.

  457. David: How do you draw the line?

  458. Brother Jim: Pandora's box has been blown open.

  459. Brother Jim: Yep.

  460. Brother Jim: Because you're entitled, brother.

  461. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  462. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  463. Brother Jim: You can do whatever you want to do to make you feel happy,

  464. Brother Jim: happy, happy, happy, or whatever fulfills your innermost desires.

  465. Brother Jim: Yep.

  466. Brother Jim: MM mm.

  467. Brother Jim: Now, to me, and I'm not that

  468. Brother Jim: intelligent, but it kind of

  469. Brother Jim: sounds like it's opening the

  470. Brother Jim: door to a one way ticket to

  471. Brother Jim: hell.

  472. Brother Jim: MM. Yeah.

  473. Brother Jim: But again, it's out of love, my friends.

  474. Brother Jim: It's out of love and compassion.

  475. Brother Jim: Because I don't want to see you go to hell.

  476. Brother Jim: David doesn't want to see you go to hell.

  477. Brother Jim: But yet we are.

  478. Brother Jim: MM. What's a good word?

  479. Brother Jim: Criticized is not powerful enough.

  480. Brother Jim: Condemned.

  481. David: Yeah.

  482. Brother Jim: Condemned. Scrutinized.

  483. Brother Jim: Oh, there we go.

  484. Brother Jim: Labeled as haters.

  485. Brother Jim: As Jesus freaks.

  486. Brother Jim: Holier than thou.

  487. Brother Jim: The list goes on.

  488. Brother Jim: No. Now there are those people who love to judge, who love to

  489. Brother Jim: cast their opinion.

  490. Brother Jim: But they don't do it in a loving way.

  491. Brother Jim: How about how many pastors out there now?

  492. Brother Jim: I believe preaching the gospel.

  493. Brother Jim: Believe in preaching in heaven and hell.

  494. Brother Jim: But there's a way to do it, isn't there, David?

  495. David: Yeah.

  496. Brother Jim: Versus David, you are a sinner.

  497. Brother Jim: You're going to hell because you do this, this, this, and this.

  498. Brother Jim: Wait a minute.

  499. Brother Jim: As we talk Tuesday again, Jesus doesn't care about your past.

  500. Brother Jim: He wants you now.

  501. Brother Jim: Present?

  502. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  503. Brother Jim: Because, dude, I'd be screwed.

  504. Brother Jim: Let's just be blunt.

  505. Brother Jim: If we went off my past.

  506. Brother Jim: But that is Jesus's mercy.

  507. Brother Jim: And that is grace.

  508. Brother Jim: My friends too.

  509. Brother Jim: Not to frighten, but to warn.

  510. Brother Jim: Hell is separation from God.

  511. Brother Jim: As we've discussed, one of the clearest descriptions of hell is

  512. Brother Jim: found in second Thessalonians one, verse nine, which speaks of

  513. Brother Jim: eternal destruction away from the presence of the Lord.

  514. Brother Jim: Let's go to the verse.

  515. Brother Jim: Verse nine.

  516. Brother Jim: They will be punished with

  517. Brother Jim: everlasting destruction and shut

  518. Brother Jim: out from the presence of the

  519. Brother Jim: Lord, and from the glory of his

  520. Brother Jim: might.

  521. Brother Jim: HMM.

  522. Brother Jim: The most painful part of hell is not just suffering.

  523. Brother Jim: It is separation from God.

  524. Brother Jim: Think about if you took a toddler, David.

  525. Brother Jim: How would your youngest.

  526. David: three.

  527. Brother Jim: Through him just out in the street.

  528. Brother Jim: What would he suffer?

  529. David: No. for everything.

  530. Brother Jim: He's going to suffer everything

  531. Brother Jim: because he has lost his mother

  532. Brother Jim: and father.

  533. Brother Jim: Yeah, he's lost that connection.

  534. Brother Jim: He's lost that love, huh?

  535. Brother Jim: Isn't that what Jesus is saying right now?

  536. Brother Jim: What he said back then is still

  537. Brother Jim: as radically true as it is

  538. Brother Jim: today.

  539. Brother Jim: No comfort of his presence, no

  540. Brother Jim: light of his truth, no joy of

  541. Brother Jim: his peace.

  542. Brother Jim: No hope of his grace.

  543. Brother Jim: God and God alone is the source of all good things, and hell is

  544. Brother Jim: the absence of that goodness.

  545. Brother Jim: Hell is the result of rejection.

  546. Brother Jim: Your rejection.

  547. Brother Jim: My rejection.

  548. Brother Jim: You choose it.

  549. Brother Jim: Nobody else does.

  550. Brother Jim: At the end of the day, the buck stops with you.

  551. Brother Jim: It's not God's desire.

  552. Brother Jim: God does not take pleasure in any Anyone being lost.

  553. Brother Jim: David, would you take pleasure

  554. Brother Jim: in one of your children being

  555. Brother Jim: lost?

  556. David: Absolutely not.

  557. Brother Jim: You'd be a. I'm guessing you'd be going bonkers.

  558. David: Yeah.

  559. Brother Jim: Yes, so would I. Come on, be honest.

  560. Brother Jim: So would you.

  561. Brother Jim: If someone you love so much was lost, it would hurt.

  562. Brother Jim: You would go nuts trying to find him.

  563. Brother Jim: You would do anything to save them.

  564. Brother Jim: True.

  565. Brother Jim: David.

  566. David: It's true.

  567. Brother Jim: So what did God do?

  568. Brother Jim: He sent Jesus to this earth to walk this earth.

  569. Brother Jim: To walk in our shoes.

  570. Brother Jim: So there's no excuses.

  571. Brother Jim: No excuses.

  572. Brother Jim: You can't say, well, you know, I didn't know what I was doing.

  573. Brother Jim: Jesus never went through this.

  574. Brother Jim: Yes he did.

  575. Brother Jim: And at the end of the day, Christ died on that cross for

  576. Brother Jim: all our sins, all of our sins.

  577. Brother Jim: Let me rephrase that again.

  578. Brother Jim: Let me re go back to that one.

  579. Brother Jim: God does not take pleasure in anyone being lost.

  580. Brother Jim: Now, Second Peter three nine

  581. Brother Jim: tells us he is patient, not

  582. Brother Jim: wanting anyone to perish, but

  583. Brother Jim: everyone to come and come to

  584. Brother Jim: repentance.

  585. Brother Jim: And David, I hate to say it, you don't hear that word a lot.

  586. David: Do you know you really don't.

  587. Brother Jim: Pastors and well, not all, but it's it seems to have been lost

  588. Brother Jim: in the shuffle.

  589. David: Yeah.

  590. Brother Jim: Cuz you gotta admit you've done wrong, right?

  591. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  592. Brother Jim: I don't like to admit I've done wrong.

  593. Brother Jim: Do you like to admit you've done wrong?

  594. Brother Jim: Their listeners think about it.

  595. Brother Jim: It's tough to swallow your pride and say, yeah, I messed up.

  596. Brother Jim: The sins not okay, but

  597. Brother Jim: recognizing it and asking for

  598. Brother Jim: forgiveness.

  599. Brother Jim: That's the start right there.

  600. Brother Jim: That is a start.

  601. Brother Jim: God gave us a mind and God gave us a conscience.

  602. David: True he.

  603. Brother Jim: Did. We all know right from wrong, but we choose.

  604. Brother Jim: And that is the key word.

  605. Brother Jim: We choose to keep on doing what we're doing.

  606. Brother Jim: Going to church.

  607. Brother Jim: Is that going to correct everything?

  608. Brother Jim: David?

  609. Brother Jim: No, no, but I pray, David, I pray every day.

  610. Brother Jim: Is that going to correct everything?

  611. David: It can help.

  612. Brother Jim: But it can help.

  613. Brother Jim: But no, no. How many Christians out there today?

  614. Brother Jim: And maybe you're one of them.

  615. Brother Jim: And brother, I used to be one.

  616. Brother Jim: You ride the fence, you got one leg, one leg in the church in

  617. Brother Jim: God per se.

  618. Brother Jim: But that other leg is just right in the world.

  619. Brother Jim: And I've been saying it, and I'm going to keep on saying it.

  620. Brother Jim: How many people take their hat

  621. Brother Jim: off when they leave on a Sunday

  622. Brother Jim: morning?

  623. Brother Jim: They put it on a nice little hat rack and they go into the world.

  624. Brother Jim: And when they come in Sunday

  625. Brother Jim: morning, ooh, I got my Christian

  626. Brother Jim: hat on.

  627. Brother Jim: True.

  628. David: Yeah.

  629. Brother Jim: True. How many people out there don't even open their Bible?

  630. Brother Jim: You know, a thing that bugs me.

  631. Brother Jim: David just burns my backside.

  632. Brother Jim: And I used to be one.

  633. Brother Jim: How can you come to church without your Bible?

  634. Brother Jim: MM. David, I could throw a bunch of hokey pokey up there.

  635. Brother Jim: How many people would actually

  636. Brother Jim: say, whoa, Jim, what are you

  637. Brother Jim: saying?

  638. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  639. Brother Jim: Ah!

  640. Brother Jim: They just keep on going along.

  641. Brother Jim: Sorry, but, you know, or if I had my phone.

  642. Brother Jim: Oh. I'm following.

  643. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  644. Brother Jim: You're getting a high score on Candy crush.

  645. Brother Jim: Come on, come on again.

  646. Brother Jim: Get in your.

  647. Brother Jim: Get in the word.

  648. Brother Jim: Pray.

  649. Brother Jim: Ask God to correct you.

  650. Brother Jim: But do you really want corrected?

  651. Brother Jim: Life and death?

  652. Brother Jim: It's on the line.

  653. Brother Jim: Hell is not created because God is cruel.

  654. Brother Jim: It exists because God is just.

  655. Brother Jim: God respects human choice, people can reject his grace.

  656. Brother Jim: In Matthew twenty five, Jesus says, hell was prepared for the

  657. Brother Jim: devil and his angels.

  658. Brother Jim: It was never God's desire for

  659. Brother Jim: people, but it becomes the

  660. Brother Jim: destination for those who reject

  661. Brother Jim: him.

  662. Brother Jim: Because why sin entered the world.

  663. Brother Jim: Adam and Eve on here on earth.

  664. Brother Jim: They chose.

  665. Brother Jim: They chose to rebel, not to obey God's simple command don't eat

  666. Brother Jim: from this tree, don't eat.

  667. Brother Jim: And what do they do?

  668. Brother Jim: It's like buffet time at the.

  669. David: Golden Corral or whatever.

  670. Brother Jim: Corral. That's right.

  671. Brother Jim: Come on.

  672. Brother Jim: We messed up.

  673. Brother Jim: We did.

  674. Brother Jim: And we still mess up.

  675. Brother Jim: Hell is final and serious.

  676. Brother Jim: Matthew twenty five forty six says, then we.

  677. Brother Jim: They will go away to eternal

  678. Brother Jim: punishment, but the righteous to

  679. Brother Jim: eternal life.

  680. Brother Jim: Now.

  681. Brother Jim: David, would you choose David

  682. Brother Jim: behind door one we have eternal

  683. Brother Jim: punishment.

  684. Brother Jim: Or door number two, we have eternal life.

  685. David: I mean, you'd have to probably be pretty messed up in the head

  686. David: to pick the eternal punishment one, I would think.

  687. Brother Jim: Wait a minute.

  688. Brother Jim: Let me spin the bottle here.

  689. Brother Jim: The spin, the.

  690. Brother Jim: But we do it.

  691. Brother Jim: We choose to do it.

  692. Brother Jim: It's like playing Russian roulette.

  693. Brother Jim: Yeah, never played it.

  694. Brother Jim: But you know what your odds are?

  695. Brother Jim: They're not good.

  696. David: Because we're after that instant gratification.

  697. David: We're not looking at the we're

  698. David: not looking at the future

  699. David: ramifications.

  700. Brother Jim: Again, what we just said live now.

  701. Brother Jim: That's what the world promotes.

  702. David: Microwave society.

  703. Brother Jim: There you go.

  704. Brother Jim: Fast food Christianity.

  705. David: Yeah.

  706. Brother Jim: Uh, can you supersize that order, please?

  707. Brother Jim: And it's gone within minutes.

  708. Brother Jim: Jesus urges strong language.

  709. Brother Jim: Eternal.

  710. Brother Jim: Excuse me, he urges, but he uses strong language.

  711. Brother Jim: Eternal punishment.

  712. Brother Jim: From Matthew twenty five forty six we just read.

  713. Brother Jim: This tells us that hell is not temporary or reversible.

  714. Brother Jim: Temporary.

  715. Brother Jim: It's not temporary and it's not reversible.

  716. Brother Jim: That is why the gospel is so urgent.

  717. Brother Jim: That is why eternity is not something.

  718. Brother Jim: We just figure it out later as we go.

  719. Brother Jim: Do you know what tomorrow holds, David?

  720. David: Nope. I mean, I think I do, but you never know.

  721. David: Yep.

  722. Brother Jim: Oh. How many live?

  723. Brother Jim: I'll live off of our day calendar.

  724. David: Yeah.

  725. Brother Jim: You don't know what tomorrow brings.

  726. Brother Jim: I don't know what tonight brings.

  727. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  728. Brother Jim: Again, we have hopes.

  729. Brother Jim: We have plans.

  730. Brother Jim: But there's no guarantee.

  731. Brother Jim: I hate to tell you, David.

  732. Brother Jim: One day you'll take your last breath.

  733. Brother Jim: Just like me.

  734. David: Yeah.

  735. Brother Jim: We don't know when that day will come.

  736. Brother Jim: But a day of reckoning.

  737. Brother Jim: You got two shots.

  738. Brother Jim: Door one or door two?

  739. Brother Jim: Yep.

  740. David: There was a forty three year old just down the road here.

  741. David: There.

  742. David: He took his last breath.

  743. David: Really?

  744. David: Yeah, just.

  745. David: Just down over the hill here.

  746. David: Really?

  747. David: Yeah.

  748. Brother Jim: Well, look up the obituaries.

  749. Brother Jim: Local obituaries.

  750. David: Yeah.

  751. Brother Jim: How many people?

  752. Brother Jim: How many people made the right choice?

  753. Brother Jim: They chose God.

  754. Brother Jim: They chose eternity with God versus eternity without God.

  755. Brother Jim: Our response to Christ in this life matters forever.

  756. Brother Jim: Forever.

  757. Brother Jim: The warning of hell points us to Jesus.

  758. Brother Jim: The message of hell is not meant

  759. Brother Jim: to drive you away in fear not

  760. Brother Jim: to.

  761. Brother Jim: It's not the boogeyman.

  762. Brother Jim: It's meant to drive us to Christ.

  763. Brother Jim: Thought just came into my mind.

  764. Brother Jim: David, if you've ever dealt with cows.

  765. Brother Jim: Cows are dumb animals.

  766. Brother Jim: I'm sorry.

  767. Brother Jim: They are.

  768. Brother Jim: I've had them, I attempted, and I gave up.

  769. David: At least they're delicious.

  770. Brother Jim: They are delicious.

  771. Brother Jim: But you break out a feed bucket.

  772. Brother Jim: Woo!

  773. Brother Jim: They become your best friend.

  774. Brother Jim: And all they are interested in is in is in that grain.

  775. Brother Jim: You got in a bucket.

  776. Brother Jim: You can take them anywhere.

  777. David: Yeah.

  778. Brother Jim: Is that not what the devil is doing today?

  779. David: Yeah.

  780. Brother Jim: I don't have a bucket here

  781. Brother Jim: handy, but pretend this is a

  782. Brother Jim: grain bucket.

  783. Brother Jim: Suki.

  784. Brother Jim: Suki, come on now.

  785. Brother Jim: Come on girl.

  786. Brother Jim: And away they follow.

  787. Brother Jim: Now, in the same sense, God has done the same thing.

  788. Brother Jim: Instead of grain, instead of the

  789. Brother Jim: pleasures of the world, he gave

  790. Brother Jim: us Christ.

  791. Brother Jim: Yeah, he gave us his word.

  792. Brother Jim: And when I say word, he gave us the word here in the Bible.

  793. Brother Jim: But he gave us his word as well.

  794. Brother Jim: He gave us the truth.

  795. Brother Jim: Jesus came to rescue us from sin and his eternal consequences.

  796. Brother Jim: On the cross.

  797. Brother Jim: He bore judgment so that we could receive mercy.

  798. Brother Jim: And again, John three sixteen makes it clear whoever believes

  799. Brother Jim: they're not going to perish but have eternal life.

  800. Brother Jim: So, my friends, what's your thoughts?

  801. Brother Jim: Have you ever really thought about hell, people?

  802. Brother Jim: Oh, brother Jim, I'm living in hell now.

  803. Brother Jim: I'm going.

  804. Brother Jim: Hey, in this life, yeah.

  805. Brother Jim: I've been through hell and back.

  806. Brother Jim: But baby, baby, baby, it is nothing.

  807. Brother Jim: What you're going to face if you don't choose Jesus Christ as

  808. Brother Jim: your Lord and Savior.

  809. Brother Jim: Hell is again.

  810. Brother Jim: Separation from God.

  811. Brother Jim: Let me tell you this.

  812. Brother Jim: Hell is the result of rejecting his grace, and hell is a

  813. Brother Jim: reminder that eternity is too important to ignore.

  814. Brother Jim: But the good news.

  815. Brother Jim: Oh, thank you Lord, for this.

  816. Brother Jim: No one has to go there.

  817. Brother Jim: Jesus Christ offers you.

  818. Brother Jim: He offers me.

  819. Brother Jim: He has offered everybody

  820. Brother Jim: salvation, forgiveness, and

  821. Brother Jim: eternal life to all who turn to

  822. Brother Jim: him.

  823. Brother Jim: Today, today, today, as the Lord

  824. Brother Jim: is the day that the Lord has

  825. Brother Jim: made and the invitation still

  826. Brother Jim: stands.

  827. Brother Jim: Choose Christ and choose life.

  828. Brother Jim: If not who?

  829. Brother Jim: I don't even want to think about it.

  830. Brother Jim: What you will go through.

  831. Brother Jim: What your family will go through.

  832. Brother Jim: If you care, if you love.

  833. Brother Jim: What's it hurt to tell somebody about Jesus?

  834. Brother Jim: What's it hurt to tell what Jesus did in your life?

  835. Brother Jim: Well, my friends, that just about does it for this.

  836. Brother Jim: Thursday, May fourteenth.

  837. Brother Jim: Mr. David, my friend, any closing thoughts?

  838. Brother Jim: Comments?

  839. David: Just hope the ladies and

  840. David: gentlemen, you know, take

  841. David: everything that's said here to

  842. David: heart.

  843. David: There.

  844. David: There is a heaven to gain and a hell to shun.

  845. David: So yeah, tread carefully.

  846. Brother Jim: You know, David and I, we're doing a late night episode.

  847. Brother Jim: Got to be honest with you.

  848. Brother Jim: Because of Mother's Day coming up, we didn't want to take away.

  849. Brother Jim: And thank goodness David reminded me because I had my

  850. Brother Jim: days mixed up.

  851. Brother Jim: But again, it's quarter after eleven here on a Thursday night.

  852. Brother Jim: Be honest with you, David.

  853. Brother Jim: I'm only five minutes away, but David has to drive, what,

  854. Brother Jim: fifteen, twenty minutes?

  855. David: Yeah.

  856. Brother Jim: He made a choice to come out here and help.

  857. Brother Jim: While he runs the whole thing.

  858. Brother Jim: He made a choice and he's done that many times.

  859. Brother Jim: Made a choice.

  860. Brother Jim: And trust me, tonight I'd rather be in bed right now.

  861. Brother Jim: But you know what?

  862. Brother Jim: What is more important, David?

  863. Brother Jim: And again, people might think

  864. Brother Jim: you guys are just, you know, off

  865. Brother Jim: your rocker a little bit, but

  866. Brother Jim: man, we've got better things to

  867. Brother Jim: do.

  868. Brother Jim: But we see the importance of this.

  869. Brother Jim: So we choose we choose to try to

  870. Brother Jim: bring you at least something to

  871. Brother Jim: chew on this week, to think

  872. Brother Jim: about it.

  873. Brother Jim: We're not looking for any.

  874. Brother Jim: I doubt we'll ever make the red carpet.

  875. Brother Jim: I doubt we'll ever be.

  876. Brother Jim: Uh, you know what you see on reels all the time.

  877. David: We're probably never going to get a YouTube play button

  878. David: hanging on the wall in here.

  879. Brother Jim: There you go.

  880. Brother Jim: But you know what?

  881. Brother Jim: We don't care.

  882. Brother Jim: We're not in it to make money.

  883. Brother Jim: We're not getting any money.

  884. Brother Jim: We're not in it to get our faces out and about.

  885. Brother Jim: We're we're doing this because we care.

  886. Brother Jim: Because we care about you.

  887. Brother Jim: Plain and simple.

  888. Brother Jim: That's all it is.

  889. Brother Jim: Now we have some fun doing this.

  890. David: Absolutely.

  891. Brother Jim: And again, we got to get, uh, after, uh.

  892. Brother Jim: Oh, what?

  893. Brother Jim: What would that be called?

  894. Brother Jim: David.

  895. Brother Jim: Uh, my mind just went blank, uh, recording the after show.

  896. David: Yeah. Behind the scenes or whatever.

  897. Brother Jim: Yes. Behind the scenes.

  898. Brother Jim: But we're doing it.

  899. Brother Jim: Having fun.

  900. Brother Jim: We're joyful.

  901. Brother Jim: We make a loud noise, whether you like it or not.

  902. Brother Jim: Yeah, I know the jokes aren't the greatest.

  903. Brother Jim: The face is definitely not that good to look at, but we care.

  904. Brother Jim: My friends, we care.

  905. Brother Jim: And my question is to you.

  906. Brother Jim: Do you care?

  907. Brother Jim: Maybe you are.

  908. Brother Jim: And I pray you are.

  909. Brother Jim: I pray you are saved.

  910. Brother Jim: You're ready to go.

  911. Brother Jim: But what are you doing with that?

  912. Brother Jim: What are you doing with that?

  913. Brother Jim: Are you a big old hog keeping it to yourself?

  914. Brother Jim: Are you out there telling people about Jesus?

  915. Brother Jim: Are you out there being kind,

  916. Brother Jim: showing compassion, emulating

  917. Brother Jim: Jesus Christ.

  918. Brother Jim: Good question for you, our friends.

  919. Brother Jim: As we close, please remember you.

  920. Brother Jim: Yes, you.

  921. Brother Jim: You have meaning.

  922. Brother Jim: And even the people maybe you don't like.

  923. Brother Jim: They have meaning.

  924. Brother Jim: They have value just like you.

  925. Brother Jim: And most of all, they are loved just like you.

  926. Brother Jim: May God continue to bless you just as well.

  927. Brother Jim: May you and I continue to thank our Lord above for our blessings

  928. Brother Jim: each and every day.

  929. Brother Jim: And if we meet again, well then

  930. Brother Jim: we're going to smile and

  931. Brother Jim: rejoice.

  932. Brother Jim: And I hope to see you in heaven.

  933. Brother Jim: David hopes to see you in heaven.

  934. Brother Jim: And if not, then this parting was well made.

  935. Brother Jim: Happy trails to you until we meet again.

  936. Brother Jim: Thank you for joining myself here on Bible Bibs in prayer.

  937. Brother Jim: This is the big guy, Brother Jim.

  938. Brother Jim: Out.
