  1. Speaker 1: Brother Jim's got the mic in hand.

  2. Speaker 1: David's laughing like a one man band talking disco, bell bottom

  3. Speaker 1: flares and a little bit of scripture to say your prayers.

  4. Speaker 1: Yes, it's the past, it's the present.

  5. Speaker 1: It's the holy.

  6. Speaker 1: Sit back and join us.

  7. Speaker 1: Bible bids and a prayer.

  8. Speaker 1: Bible bids and a prayer.

  9. Speaker 1: We're keeping it real.

  10. Speaker 1: From the red, white and blue to the spinning wheel.

  11. Speaker 1: It's stories and devotion.

  12. Speaker 1: Good vibes to share.

  13. Speaker 1: Come on and listen to Bible bibs and a prayer.

  14. Brother Jim: Wow baby, what is up everyone?

  15. Brother Jim: Guess what?

  16. Brother Jim: It's time for Bible bibs and a prayer.

  17. Brother Jim: Good morning family, good morning friends and good morning

  18. Brother Jim: to the whole wide world.

  19. Brother Jim: Welcome to your daily start and your local funny farm.

  20. Brother Jim: Wherever you are.

  21. Brother Jim: We are glad you are joining David and myself this morning.

  22. Brother Jim: We are definitely the dynamic duo.

  23. Brother Jim: At least that is what we keep telling ourselves.

  24. Brother Jim: This, we hope, is your go to place to wake up and formed,

  25. Brother Jim: encouraged, focused and ready to tackle the day ahead.

  26. Brother Jim: Plus just enough madness and

  27. Brother Jim: offbeat humor to keep things

  28. Brother Jim: interesting.

  29. Brother Jim: We've got it all right here on Bible bibs and a prayer.

  30. Brother Jim: Now we got a little laughter, a

  31. Brother Jim: little encouragement, a little

  32. Brother Jim: life, real life, let's put it

  33. Brother Jim: that way.

  34. Brother Jim: And always a whole lot of Jesus.

  35. Brother Jim: Whether you're sipping your first cup of coffee, rushing out

  36. Brother Jim: the door, sitting in traffic, or just trying to wake up enough to

  37. Brother Jim: remember what day it is.

  38. Brother Jim: Amen to that.

  39. Brother Jim: We are thankful you are spending part of your morning with us.

  40. Brother Jim: Every day we want to bring you quick insight, practical

  41. Brother Jim: encouragement, meaningful conversation, and a clear look

  42. Brother Jim: at what really matters today.

  43. Brother Jim: So settle in, wake up, laugh a little, and let us help make

  44. Brother Jim: this morning count.

  45. Brother Jim: By the way, folks, a

  46. Brother Jim: nutritionist said that eating

  47. Brother Jim: healthy involves filling your

  48. Brother Jim: plate with bright colors, greens

  49. Brother Jim: yet and yellows are very

  50. Brother Jim: important.

  51. Brother Jim: So I had a bowl of M&Ms.

  52. Brother Jim: Forgot the milk though.

  53. Brother Jim: I didn't want to try that one.

  54. Brother Jim: Yeah, yeah, but how about first

  55. Brother Jim: off, let you and I thank God for

  56. Brother Jim: another day.

  57. Brother Jim: We do not have to set the alarm for.

  58. Brother Jim: Because baby, we are already

  59. Brother Jim: awake and we are already

  60. Brother Jim: blessed.

  61. Brother Jim: So in case you did not know or have not picked up on it yet, my

  62. Brother Jim: name is Brother Jim.

  63. Brother Jim: One half of the dynamic dynamic

  64. Brother Jim: duo here on Bible Bibs in a

  65. Brother Jim: prayer.

  66. Brother Jim: And as I like to say, I may be a

  67. Brother Jim: legend in my own mind, a hero,

  68. Brother Jim: and absolutely no one else's

  69. Brother Jim: story.

  70. Brother Jim: But that's alright, because God

  71. Brother Jim: still lets me show up every

  72. Brother Jim: morning anyway.

  73. Brother Jim: Welcome to the show.

  74. Brother Jim: Our goal around here is simple.

  75. Brother Jim: Let us turn this in from a conversation into an experience,

  76. Brother Jim: and we're just not here to fill up air time.

  77. Brother Jim: We are here to laugh together,

  78. Brother Jim: learn together, pray together,

  79. Brother Jim: and hopefully leave your morning

  80. Brother Jim: a little more brighter than we

  81. Brother Jim: found it.

  82. Brother Jim: Now, before we get too serious and start sounding like we

  83. Brother Jim: actually know what we're doing here, or we got it all figured

  84. Brother Jim: out, which some days we do, some days we don't.

  85. Brother Jim: Allow me to bring in my co-host, because every funny farm needs

  86. Brother Jim: somebody to help keep the train on tracks, or at least help

  87. Brother Jim: explain why it came off the tracks in the first place.

  88. Brother Jim: And my co conductor over here

  89. Brother Jim: definitely helps fix all the

  90. Brother Jim: problems.

  91. Brother Jim: I end up usually taking the train off of.

  92. Brother Jim: But now, joining me in human

  93. Brother Jim: embodiment of sarcasm, my

  94. Brother Jim: co-host.

  95. Brother Jim: And here it is.

  96. Brother Jim: Some call him talented, others call him.

  97. Brother Jim: Currently under investigation.

  98. Brother Jim: Either way, we are glad he made it.

  99. Brother Jim: So, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages,

  100. Brother Jim: put your hands together for a man among men.

  101. Brother Jim: A true broadcasting pioneer.

  102. Brother Jim: A face that only a mother could love.

  103. Brother Jim: And even occasionally.

  104. Brother Jim: She needs a minute on that one.

  105. Brother Jim: Good morning, my friend, Mr.

  106. Brother Jim: David Keener, and plus one of my

  107. Brother Jim: best friends in the whole wide

  108. Brother Jim: world.

  109. David: Well, good morning.

  110. David: And I would argue that somebody else is under investigation.

  111. David: I just want to say to whoever

  112. David: stole my camo jacket and flip

  113. David: flops, you can hide, but you

  114. David: can't run.

  115. Brother Jim: Oh, dude, you kill me.

  116. Brother Jim: Oh, man.

  117. Brother Jim: Oh Ah!

  118. Brother Jim: That's why he's not the best.

  119. Brother Jim: I mean, he is.

  120. Brother Jim: There is no second to none.

  121. Brother Jim: Here he is, the man color commentator and joke killer.

  122. David: You know, I'm not coming up with these on my own.

  123. David: They're all stolen from somewhere else, right?

  124. Brother Jim: I know, but that's okay.

  125. Brother Jim: You keep them coming, we'll keep laughing.

  126. Brother Jim: What is going on in Courville, my friend?

  127. David: Oh, not too much.

  128. David: We've got, uh.

  129. David: Man, I've got I got my.

  130. David: My second is graduating from preschool this week.

  131. David: Oh, yeah.

  132. David: So that's got.

  133. David: Got another one.

  134. David: I don't know how this is going

  135. David: to go because my first one

  136. David: graduated from preschool during

  137. David: Covid.

  138. David: So there wasn't there wasn't.

  139. Brother Jim: Much of a ceremony.

  140. David: No, no, actually they did a they did a parade.

  141. David: We drove cars around town.

  142. David: It was kind of neat.

  143. David: It was a neat thing to do.

  144. David: But this, you know, we're back to the real graduation.

  145. David: I don't know how I'm going to handle it, so we'll have to see

  146. David: how that goes.

  147. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  148. David: So yeah.

  149. Brother Jim: Yeah. I remember, uh, our daughter Kelsey, when she

  150. Brother Jim: graduated high school.

  151. Brother Jim: We had to do that.

  152. David: Yeah. I think they should give him a do over.

  153. David: They really should.

  154. Brother Jim: They should.

  155. Brother Jim: Yeah. Prom was a joke.

  156. Brother Jim: Everything was just a. Yeah.

  157. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  158. Brother Jim: You know, but, uh.

  159. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  160. Brother Jim: So. Preschool graduation.

  161. David: Yeah.

  162. Brother Jim: So what's the grades?

  163. Brother Jim: They're finishing up.

  164. David: So my oldest is finishing fourth, and Elijah will be

  165. David: finishing preschool, and the youngest isn't in school yet.

  166. David: Okay.

  167. David: So still got the baby at home.

  168. Brother Jim: All right.

  169. Brother Jim: And then when's the baby go to preschool?

  170. David: Uh, he's got another two years, so.

  171. Brother Jim: Ah. So Mama still.

  172. David: Should be hanging on to him for a while.

  173. Brother Jim: Yes. Oh, yes. Yes. Uh. Time flies.

  174. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  175. Brother Jim: Time flies.

  176. Brother Jim: How's the grass coming?

  177. David: Oh. It's coming.

  178. David: Good so far.

  179. Brother Jim: Looking all fertilized.

  180. Brother Jim: We're waiting on the video, man.

  181. David: Well, it's been a little.

  182. David: Been a little busy, but I hear that this is supposed to be.

  183. David: And I don't know if it's

  184. David: specifically here or if it's

  185. David: United States in general, but

  186. David: they're saying that this summer

  187. David: will be the worst drought since

  188. David: sixteen forty.

  189. Brother Jim: Really?

  190. David: And if anybody's a history buff, sixteen forty was Jamestown.

  191. Brother Jim: Oh.

  192. David: So so just just in case I've started, you know, sticking a

  193. David: little bottled water back, you know, and keeping it just, you

  194. David: know, in case and I don't, but I mean, if it affects the Midwest

  195. David: where everything's grown, I mean, that's that's not good.

  196. Brother Jim: Yeah. You are the first I've heard that from.

  197. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  198. Brother Jim: So yeah.

  199. Brother Jim: Sixteen forty.

  200. Brother Jim: Yep.

  201. Brother Jim: You might want to stock up on a little bit of water.

  202. Brother Jim: Yep.

  203. Brother Jim: Are you just stole the whole thing.

  204. Brother Jim: Jeez, David.

  205. Brother Jim: Well, that's the food.

  206. Brother Jim: Leave it.

  207. David: Just leave it to me to bring the sunshine to the program.

  208. Brother Jim: Yeah, man.

  209. Brother Jim: Talk about a black cloud coming in.

  210. Brother Jim: I think you just hit us with lightning here.

  211. Brother Jim: Oh, wow.

  212. Brother Jim: I did not hear that.

  213. David: Yeah, I just heard that, uh, two weeks ago.

  214. Brother Jim: I think here I am complaining about all the rain.

  215. David: Like I said, I don't know if

  216. David: it's supposed to affect Ohio

  217. David: specifically, but again, if it

  218. David: affects the Midwest, any of the

  219. David: Midwest, that's where

  220. David: everything's grown.

  221. David: So.

  222. David: Yep.

  223. Brother Jim: Yeah. Food prices everywhere.

  224. Brother Jim: Yep. Shortages everywhere.

  225. Brother Jim: And only in America we pay farmers not to farm.

  226. David: Yeah.

  227. Brother Jim: Not to produce. Yeah. Unbelievable.

  228. Brother Jim: Sorry, folks.

  229. Brother Jim: A little bit of my own personal issues I have, and trust me.

  230. Brother Jim: Got a lot of those.

  231. Brother Jim: Yes.

  232. Brother Jim: I don't know.

  233. Brother Jim: One of the barnyard critters here might get sacrificed.

  234. David: They might be a little chewy.

  235. Brother Jim: Times get tough.

  236. Brother Jim: Yeah. I'm looking at the chicken and I'm looking at the pig.

  237. Brother Jim: Oh, baby.

  238. Brother Jim: It's okay.

  239. Brother Jim: Oddly.

  240. Brother Jim: Oh, but you know what?

  241. Brother Jim: God's got it all under his control.

  242. David: That's right.

  243. Brother Jim: Yes. Uh. We just got a baptismal here at Rockford Church.

  244. Brother Jim: I can see it now.

  245. Brother Jim: We're having community bass here.

  246. Brother Jim: Oh. Uh, there's no way.

  247. Brother Jim: There's no way.

  248. Brother Jim: Uh. And, you know, you look back to, like, uh, medieval times and

  249. Brother Jim: the dark ages and all that.

  250. Brother Jim: I mean, you know, why the case

  251. Brother Jim: the bride always wore or always

  252. Brother Jim: carried a bouquet of flowers in

  253. Brother Jim: the spring.

  254. Brother Jim: Yeah, because the body odor was so bad, it was to help mask the

  255. Brother Jim: smell of it.

  256. Brother Jim: I'm like.

  257. David: I don't want to go back to that.

  258. Brother Jim: Come on.

  259. Brother Jim: Oh, you know, I heard something interesting.

  260. Brother Jim: I really enjoy watching podcasts with, uh, like tier one

  261. Brother Jim: operators from the military.

  262. Brother Jim: And, uh, of course, there are

  263. Brother Jim: dime a dozen right now with

  264. Brother Jim: podcasts and all their

  265. Brother Jim: experiences.

  266. Brother Jim: And, uh, the one was talking about, they were, he was a tier

  267. Brother Jim: one operator for the Navy.

  268. Brother Jim: And, uh, they were doing this raid and they went into this

  269. Brother Jim: large tent, okay.

  270. Brother Jim: Compound.

  271. Brother Jim: But like for us, imagine a giant tent.

  272. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  273. Brother Jim: And the smell and not to be gross guys, but this just shows

  274. Brother Jim: how blessed we are.

  275. Brother Jim: The smell of human feces was just ungodly.

  276. Brother Jim: Well, here, what they were doing was they were rolling their own

  277. Brother Jim: feces to help make for the roof.

  278. Brother Jim: That was how they constructed their the roof and he's.

  279. Brother Jim: And he said, you know, I wanted

  280. Brother Jim: to go back to base and get a

  281. Brother Jim: generator and bring out a TV and

  282. Brother Jim: just say, here, this is what

  283. Brother Jim: you're missing out on as far as

  284. Brother Jim: you know.

  285. Brother Jim: And can you imagine that, David?

  286. Brother Jim: You know, not just your family,

  287. Brother Jim: but say your brothers, your

  288. Brother Jim: sisters, all living in under the

  289. Brother Jim: big tent?

  290. David: Oh, no.

  291. Brother Jim: And that is how you roof shingle your home.

  292. Brother Jim: So again, how blessed we are that we are not, you know, we've

  293. Brother Jim: come around or we've come a long way since that.

  294. Brother Jim: But again, folks, that is just yeah.

  295. David: It just gives a whole new meaning to the, the chipped beef

  296. David: on toast meal.

  297. David: I just yeah, I love that I love.

  298. Brother Jim: Oh, that was one of my favorite meals growing up.

  299. David: Me too.

  300. Brother Jim: And now chipped beef.

  301. Brother Jim: It's like almost outrageous.

  302. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  303. Brother Jim: Yes.

  304. Brother Jim: So yeah, again, count our blessings.

  305. Brother Jim: But, uh, so anything else going on, you know.

  306. David: No, I think that pretty much covers it for now.

  307. Brother Jim: Yeah. Well, uh, the man Beck

  308. Brother Jim: family, part of the Manbeck

  309. Brother Jim: family.

  310. Brother Jim: I gotta watch myself now.

  311. Brother Jim: Uh, my daughter and son in law, Chandler and Michaela Golec gave

  312. Brother Jim: birth this past Wednesday.

  313. Brother Jim: Oh, nice healthy baby girl.

  314. Brother Jim: Uh. Emelyn Grace Golec, eight pounds, five ounces.

  315. Brother Jim: Harry is Harry can be.

  316. Brother Jim: I mean, kind of reminds me of angry Lynn here.

  317. Brother Jim: A little Grumpy Lynn a little bit, but now beautiful.

  318. Brother Jim: Uh, you know, I'm going to go off on a little bit of a tirade

  319. Brother Jim: here, David again for anybody.

  320. Brother Jim: Uh, and this is where I'm not there yet.

  321. Brother Jim: I've not arrived.

  322. Brother Jim: But anybody who says a baby is

  323. Brother Jim: not a child, you know, actually

  324. Brother Jim: living, breathing.

  325. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  326. Brother Jim: I'm sorry I'm calling you out right now.

  327. Brother Jim: And if you'd like to meet me in

  328. Brother Jim: the parking lot, we can we can

  329. Brother Jim: discuss that.

  330. Brother Jim: Because again, as I was sitting there looking at my grandbaby,

  331. Brother Jim: it just what a miracle from God.

  332. Brother Jim: Absolutely a miracle from God.

  333. Brother Jim: And if you don't like that, well, you can shut us off right

  334. Brother Jim: now because I don't want you listening to us.

  335. Brother Jim: Sorry, David.

  336. Brother Jim: I'm speaking for both of us on that one.

  337. Brother Jim: You know, and the mass murderer.

  338. Brother Jim: I looked this up the other night, David.

  339. Brother Jim: Now, again, take this for whatever it's worth.

  340. Brother Jim: As far as because, you know, you pick and choose where you're

  341. Brother Jim: getting your stats from.

  342. David: Yeah.

  343. Brother Jim: But, you know, basically they

  344. Brother Jim: said from three to four thousand

  345. Brother Jim: children are murdered every day

  346. Brother Jim: in the United States through

  347. Brother Jim: abortion.

  348. David: We're killing entire generations.

  349. Brother Jim: Yes we are.

  350. Brother Jim: Yes. So again, and David, I've got this one and I'm going to

  351. Brother Jim: figure out how to play it.

  352. Brother Jim: It is from a a pediatrician now O natal care physician who is a

  353. Brother Jim: Christian and brother.

  354. Brother Jim: He broke it down because I was always under the gun.

  355. Brother Jim: Hey, if the mom's life is in

  356. Brother Jim: danger, you know it's okay,

  357. Brother Jim: brother.

  358. Brother Jim: He breaks that myth.

  359. Brother Jim: He busts it wide open.

  360. Brother Jim: With what we can do.

  361. Brother Jim: Now with technology, we're saving the mother, we're saving

  362. Brother Jim: the child and brother.

  363. Brother Jim: He and I didn't even know there

  364. Brother Jim: was an association of physicians

  365. Brother Jim: that are so pro-life in fighting

  366. Brother Jim: this.

  367. Brother Jim: So again, it's just like, come on man.

  368. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  369. Brother Jim: It's no, no. I don't care what

  370. Brother Jim: political regime you're from

  371. Brother Jim: from.

  372. Brother Jim: But if you're backing that man,

  373. Brother Jim: you better get in your Bible and

  374. Brother Jim: start looking up some serious

  375. Brother Jim: scripture.

  376. Brother Jim: So.

  377. Brother Jim: Alrighty.

  378. Brother Jim: There's my little rant over for the day.

  379. Brother Jim: But we are blessed.

  380. Brother Jim: Uh, I'm going to throw it back at you.

  381. Brother Jim: David.

  382. Brother Jim: Have you got any more good dad jokes?

  383. Brother Jim: Because, brother, you tear it up.

  384. David: If I can do this one from memory

  385. David: because I don't have it in front

  386. David: of me.

  387. David: Uh oh.

  388. David: If you've got a wife who comes home in a white suit and a face

  389. David: mask, just know she's a keeper.

  390. Brother Jim: Oh.

  391. David: Man. Beekeeper. Get it?

  392. David: Beekeeper.

  393. Brother Jim: Yes, I got it, I got it.

  394. Brother Jim: Uh!

  395. Brother Jim: Oh, wow.

  396. Brother Jim: You kind of evened that out.

  397. Brother Jim: Now, the first one was awesome.

  398. Brother Jim: Second one.

  399. Brother Jim: Not bad.

  400. Brother Jim: Alright.

  401. Brother Jim: Uh. But hey, you know what our dad jokes around here?

  402. Brother Jim: We believe terrible jokes are part of the healing process.

  403. Brother Jim: I don't know if that one's going to heal, and most of mine don't

  404. Brother Jim: do any healing.

  405. Brother Jim: They probably rip you up more than anything.

  406. Brother Jim: But yeah, remember this today, family.

  407. Brother Jim: Another sunrise means another

  408. Brother Jim: chance to shine, another

  409. Brother Jim: opportunity to smile, another

  410. Brother Jim: opportunity to encourage

  411. Brother Jim: somebody.

  412. Brother Jim: Another opportunity to show the

  413. Brother Jim: world and everyone around you,

  414. Brother Jim: around you, that you are one

  415. Brother Jim: special person.

  416. Brother Jim: You are created with purpose.

  417. Brother Jim: You were given another day for a reason.

  418. Brother Jim: Remember that my friends.

  419. Brother Jim: And no matter what yesterday looked like today, today, today

  420. Brother Jim: is a fresh start.

  421. Brother Jim: So lift your head up, take a deep breath, grab that coffee if

  422. Brother Jim: you need it, and let us make today count together.

  423. Brother Jim: But family, let us remember this

  424. Brother Jim: morning and let us remember this

  425. Brother Jim: and let you and I just stop for

  426. Brother Jim: a moment and thank God for

  427. Brother Jim: another beautiful and blessed

  428. Brother Jim: day.

  429. Brother Jim: And whether you're driving down

  430. Brother Jim: the road, heading into work,

  431. Brother Jim: sitting at the kitchen table

  432. Brother Jim: with your morning coffee, or

  433. Brother Jim: just trying to wake up enough to

  434. Brother Jim: function.

  435. Brother Jim: We're here to help guide you.

  436. Brother Jim: Just to give you a little inspiration, and we're glad

  437. Brother Jim: you're here with us.

  438. Brother Jim: So let's show a little gratitude this morning, because a thankful

  439. Brother Jim: heart changes everything.

  440. Brother Jim: Gratitude changes the way we see God, the way we see others, and

  441. Brother Jim: even the way we face our struggles and challenges.

  442. Brother Jim: Sometimes life is not easy.

  443. Brother Jim: Sometimes life gets messy.

  444. Brother Jim: Sometimes life gets downright weird.

  445. Brother Jim: But here on Bible bibs and

  446. Brother Jim: prayer, we admit, life gets

  447. Brother Jim: weird.

  448. Brother Jim: Definitely looking at us and

  449. Brother Jim: while also reminding you that

  450. Brother Jim: you never, ever, ever have to

  451. Brother Jim: face life alone because we have

  452. Brother Jim: Jesus.

  453. Brother Jim: So come on and thank.

  454. Brother Jim: Join Mr. David and myself as we say boldly.

  455. Brother Jim: Thank you Lord.

  456. Brother Jim: Thank you for another day of opportunity, another day to

  457. Brother Jim: laugh, another day to love, another day to make our mark on

  458. Brother Jim: this world, find the good in life and as we like to say, spit

  459. Brother Jim: out the bad.

  460. Brother Jim: Don't let it steal your joy.

  461. Brother Jim: Rejoice that you are alive.

  462. Brother Jim: Rejoice that when you look in

  463. Brother Jim: that mirror, remember today

  464. Brother Jim: you're beautiful.

  465. Brother Jim: You matter.

  466. Brother Jim: In this world.

  467. Brother Jim: Your life has purpose.

  468. Brother Jim: And most of all, oh my goodness, you are loved.

  469. Brother Jim: Now in saying all that, yesterday I was buying two large

  470. Brother Jim: bags of dog food at Walmart.

  471. Brother Jim: I was about to check out when a

  472. Brother Jim: woman behind me asked if I had a

  473. Brother Jim: dog.

  474. Brother Jim: Oh, here we go.

  475. Brother Jim: What did she think?

  476. Brother Jim: I had an elephant.

  477. Brother Jim: So since I had a little, you

  478. Brother Jim: know, I didn't have a whole lot

  479. Brother Jim: going on.

  480. Brother Jim: And I was kind of led by the impulse.

  481. Brother Jim: I told her that, no, I didn't have a dog and that I was

  482. Brother Jim: starting the Purina Diet again.

  483. Brother Jim: Although I probably should have

  484. Brother Jim: not of, uh, shouldn't because I

  485. Brother Jim: ended up in the hospital last

  486. Brother Jim: time.

  487. Brother Jim: But on the bright side though, I lost fifty pounds before I

  488. Brother Jim: awakened and the intensive care ward with tubes coming out of

  489. Brother Jim: every hole in my body, I had IV's in both arms.

  490. Brother Jim: I told her that I was essentially a perfect.

  491. Brother Jim: It wasn't a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to

  492. Brother Jim: load your pockets.

  493. Brother Jim: You take your pockets, fill up

  494. Brother Jim: with Purina Purina nuggets, and

  495. Brother Jim: simply eat one, every one or two

  496. Brother Jim: every time you feel hungry, and

  497. Brother Jim: that the food is going to

  498. Brother Jim: actually give you nutrition, uh,

  499. Brother Jim: and nutritionally complete as to

  500. Brother Jim: say.

  501. Brother Jim: So I was going to give it a try again.

  502. Brother Jim: I have to mention here that

  503. Brother Jim: everyone in the line was

  504. Brother Jim: thrilled with how my story was

  505. Brother Jim: going.

  506. Brother Jim: Horrified, she asked if I ended up in the intensive care because

  507. Brother Jim: of the dog food.

  508. Brother Jim: It had poisoned me.

  509. Brother Jim: Uh. She was very concerned.

  510. Brother Jim: Why would you go back and do it again?

  511. Brother Jim: And I told her no. I stopped in the middle of the parking lot to

  512. Brother Jim: search to scratch my fleas, and I got hit by a car.

  513. Brother Jim: Now I just butchered all this up.

  514. Brother Jim: I thought the guy behind me was going to have a heart attack.

  515. Brother Jim: He was laughing so hard.

  516. Brother Jim: Walmart won't let me shop there again anymore.

  517. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  518. Brother Jim: Sorry, folks.

  519. Brother Jim: I kind of butchered that one up.

  520. Brother Jim: Uh, but, hey, we tried.

  521. Brother Jim: You get the point.

  522. Brother Jim: That would be fun to try, though.

  523. Brother Jim: David, get somebody going in line.

  524. David: Yeah.

  525. Brother Jim: Yeah, yeah.

  526. Brother Jim: No, the the dog food didn't kill me.

  527. Brother Jim: It was.

  528. Brother Jim: I stopped scratching my fleas

  529. Brother Jim: out in the parking lot, and I

  530. Brother Jim: got hit.

  531. Brother Jim: That's kind of scary, though.

  532. Brother Jim: When you go out to Walmart, you don't need to stop and act like

  533. Brother Jim: you got fleas.

  534. David: Oh, yeah.

  535. David: Oh, yeah.

  536. Brother Jim: Any parking lot anymore?

  537. Brother Jim: Holy cow.

  538. Brother Jim: All right.

  539. Brother Jim: Even though I butchered that one, our thought of the day

  540. Brother Jim: comes from Jonathan Edwards.

  541. Brother Jim: The Wrath of God.

  542. Brother Jim: Wow.

  543. Brother Jim: I am messing up now.

  544. Brother Jim: See?

  545. Brother Jim: Wow.

  546. Brother Jim: All right, I'm gonna have David come over here and smack me.

  547. Brother Jim: The wrath of God burns against them.

  548. Brother Jim: Their damnation does not slumber.

  549. Brother Jim: The pit is prepared.

  550. Brother Jim: The fire is made ready.

  551. Brother Jim: So as we continue this discussion about heaven and

  552. Brother Jim: hell, we're going to start with why do people laugh at hell?

  553. Brother Jim: Why do people laugh at David?

  554. Brother Jim: You ever thought about laughing at hell?

  555. David: No, I can't say that I have.

  556. David: It's a serious.

  557. David: It's a serious place.

  558. Brother Jim: Yeah, just a little bit on the bad side.

  559. Brother Jim: Yeah, I agree.

  560. Brother Jim: I mean, I think you got a couple

  561. Brother Jim: marbles loose if you're laughing

  562. Brother Jim: at hell.

  563. Brother Jim: But hey, there are people out there with some marbles loose.

  564. Brother Jim: I've got some myself, but never laughed at hell.

  565. Brother Jim: From Galatians six seven we are told do not be deceived.

  566. Brother Jim: God cannot be mocked.

  567. Brother Jim: A man reaps what?

  568. Brother Jim: Oh, I love that.

  569. Brother Jim: A man reaps what he sows.

  570. Brother Jim: Now we live in a world where

  571. Brother Jim: many people laugh at serious

  572. Brother Jim: things.

  573. Brother Jim: People laugh at sin.

  574. Brother Jim: People laugh at judgment.

  575. Brother Jim: People laugh at holiness.

  576. Brother Jim: And sadly, many people laugh at hell.

  577. Brother Jim: Hell has become the punchline of jokes, a theme in a movie, and

  578. Brother Jim: something many people casually mock or dismiss.

  579. Brother Jim: You hear statements like, I'm going to rock on.

  580. Brother Jim: party.

  581. Brother Jim: Hardy in hell.

  582. Brother Jim: Hey, I'll see you in hell there, Johnny Reb.

  583. Brother Jim: See you in hell, Billy Yank.

  584. Brother Jim: Hell does not really exist.

  585. Brother Jim: Oh, David, here comes one that

  586. Brother Jim: sounds familiar from today's

  587. Brother Jim: service.

  588. Brother Jim: A loving God would never send anyone to hell.

  589. David: Oh, yeah.

  590. Brother Jim: But church hell is not a joke.

  591. Brother Jim: Jesus never treated it lightly.

  592. Brother Jim: And again, as we spoke last week, Jesus.

  593. Brother Jim: In fact, Jesus warned about hell

  594. Brother Jim: more than anyone else in

  595. Brother Jim: Scripture.

  596. Brother Jim: The enemy, aka Satan.

  597. Brother Jim: The devil, wants people to laugh at hell because if he cannot, if

  598. Brother Jim: he could convince people it's not real, then they will never

  599. Brother Jim: prepare for eternity.

  600. Brother Jim: Now today we must ask number one, why do people really.

  601. Brother Jim: Why does society laugh at hell.

  602. Brother Jim: Number two.

  603. Brother Jim: What does the Bible say about it?

  604. Brother Jim: Well, first off, let's go to

  605. Brother Jim: number one under the first

  606. Brother Jim: question.

  607. Brother Jim: People laugh at hell because sin has become normalized.

  608. Brother Jim: Is that true, David?

  609. Brother Jim: Do you think we've normalized

  610. Brother Jim: sin in our world, our society,

  611. Brother Jim: our families, our schools, our

  612. Brother Jim: businesses, our government

  613. Brother Jim: today?

  614. David: Yeah, absolutely.

  615. David: We have.

  616. Brother Jim: Yeah, absolutely.

  617. Brother Jim: Give the man a cigar.

  618. Brother Jim: Well, I shouldn't say that.

  619. Brother Jim: Give the man a Snickers.

  620. Brother Jim: Yes.

  621. Brother Jim: Normalize.

  622. Brother Jim: The world has become comfortable with sin.

  623. Brother Jim: Let me ask you something, viewers.

  624. Brother Jim: Our friends, are you comfortable with your sin?

  625. Brother Jim: Well, Brother Jim, right back at you.

  626. Brother Jim: Are you comfortable with your sin?

  627. Brother Jim: No. I'm not.

  628. Brother Jim: It's called conviction, my friends.

  629. Brother Jim: What?

  630. Brother Jim: Once shocked people.

  631. Brother Jim: Wow.

  632. Brother Jim: I've been around long enough to know this.

  633. Brother Jim: When once what once shocked people is now celebrated.

  634. Brother Jim: Oh my goodness.

  635. Brother Jim: Look on social media.

  636. Brother Jim: Again, I like to go back to the old rag mags, the National

  637. Brother Jim: Enquirer News and all those.

  638. Brother Jim: You know how it showed Hollywood celebrities.

  639. Brother Jim: Today's social media just blows it away.

  640. Brother Jim: Insight.

  641. Brother Jim: Reporting.

  642. Brother Jim: Insight.

  643. Brother Jim: Facts.

  644. Brother Jim: David.

  645. Brother Jim: Of course it's true.

  646. Brother Jim: Yeah, yeah.

  647. Brother Jim: What once caused conviction now causes entertainment.

  648. Brother Jim: The people we embrace, the people we idolize, the people we

  649. Brother Jim: put up on the pedestal.

  650. Brother Jim: The people who embrace sin, let's just call it what it is.

  651. Brother Jim: The less they know.

  652. Brother Jim: Is this true or false?

  653. Brother Jim: The less they want to hear about judgment.

  654. Brother Jim: We put them up on a pedestal, per se.

  655. Brother Jim: We idolize them.

  656. Brother Jim: Those who embrace sin.

  657. Brother Jim: Do you think they want to hear about judgment?

  658. Brother Jim: Well absolutely not.

  659. Brother Jim: Do you want to hear about your sin, your judgment?

  660. Brother Jim: No. Nobody does.

  661. Brother Jim: So what about the truth?

  662. Brother Jim: Can we handle.

  663. Brother Jim: David, I'm not even gonna try to do Jack Nicholson there.

  664. Brother Jim: But can we handle the truth?

  665. David: You can't handle the truth.

  666. Brother Jim: You can't handle the truth.

  667. Brother Jim: Yes. Maybe you can pull that up for a clip there.

  668. David: Yeah, we'll throw it in there.

  669. Speaker 4: You don't have to answer that question.

  670. Speaker 5: I'll answer the question.

  671. Speaker 5: You want answers?

  672. Speaker 5: I think I'm entitled.

  673. Speaker 5: You want answers?

  674. Speaker 5: I want the truth.

  675. Speaker 5: You can't handle the truth.

  676. David: Yeah.

  677. Brother Jim: But yes, we don't want to hear it because it's going to.

  678. Brother Jim: It's going to rain on our parade then, right?

  679. Brother Jim: Oh, come on, dude, I got a party.

  680. Brother Jim: I got a camping trip with the boys this weekend.

  681. Brother Jim: Yeah, really?

  682. Brother Jim: You know, we're gonna watch some films we shouldn't be watching.

  683. Brother Jim: Drink a little, maybe smoke a little wacky tobacky.

  684. Brother Jim: Whatever.

  685. Brother Jim: Have a good time.

  686. David: Messing up my fun.

  687. Brother Jim: You're messing up my fun?

  688. Brother Jim: Yes. Gotta be honest, folks.

  689. Brother Jim: It happens when?

  690. Brother Jim: Well, number one then who wants to hear about judgment?

  691. Brother Jim: I got time for that.

  692. Brother Jim: David.

  693. Brother Jim: Isn't that one of our number one excuses?

  694. Brother Jim: I got time.

  695. Brother Jim: I'm a young man.

  696. Brother Jim: I'm good looking.

  697. Brother Jim: Make a lot of money.

  698. Brother Jim: Well, I'm zero for two on that one.

  699. Brother Jim: But but yeah, it's true.

  700. Brother Jim: We got all the time in the world until we don't.

  701. Brother Jim: Or until the Grim Reaper comes looking for you.

  702. Brother Jim: How many people have died questioning that, David?

  703. David: Yeah.

  704. Brother Jim: Wait a minute.

  705. Brother Jim: You got the wrong person.

  706. Brother Jim: I'm young, I'm beautiful.

  707. Brother Jim: I got my whole life ahead.

  708. David: Yep.

  709. Brother Jim: But how many people are on their deathbed when they're old?

  710. Brother Jim: Same thing.

  711. Brother Jim: Still not really ready to surrender it all.

  712. David: Yeah.

  713. Brother Jim: Even when death is knocking on their doorstep.

  714. Brother Jim: When people do not want to change their lifestyle, they

  715. Brother Jim: often mock the truth instead.

  716. Brother Jim: Rather than repent.

  717. Brother Jim: Many choose to joke.

  718. Brother Jim: There's nothing new.

  719. Brother Jim: In the days of Noah, people

  720. Brother Jim: ignored warnings until the flood

  721. Brother Jim: came.

  722. Brother Jim: Sodom, Gomorrah.

  723. Brother Jim: People mocked righteousness until judgment arrived.

  724. Brother Jim: Sin hardens.

  725. Brother Jim: The heart has sin.

  726. Brother Jim: Harden your heart, my friends.

  727. Brother Jim: And when the heart becomes hardened, eternal things no

  728. Brother Jim: longer feel serious.

  729. Brother Jim: Huh?

  730. Brother Jim: No longer feel serious.

  731. Brother Jim: What do you think, my friends?

  732. Brother Jim: Let's be honest.

  733. Brother Jim: We're going off script now.

  734. Brother Jim: David's rolling his eyes like, oh, boy, here we go.

  735. Brother Jim: Got the edit button ready?

  736. Brother Jim: You think about it.

  737. Brother Jim: What is hell to you?

  738. Brother Jim: Now.

  739. Brother Jim: Uh, we've made songs, you know, we've, you know.

  740. Brother Jim: Well, hell is here.

  741. Brother Jim: I'm going through my own hell right now, which I. I understand

  742. Brother Jim: what you're saying, David, I understand I've to me, I've

  743. Brother Jim: said, you know, I've been through hell and back, right?

  744. Brother Jim: But again, not even close,

  745. Brother Jim: brother, because I heard this

  746. Brother Jim: one pastor say it can be a

  747. Brother Jim: billion years from now and

  748. Brother Jim: you're not one second closer to

  749. Brother Jim: hell ending.

  750. Brother Jim: You're still just.

  751. Brother Jim: Yeah, think about that a billion years.

  752. Brother Jim: David.

  753. Brother Jim: I, I told the church the other

  754. Brother Jim: day, I got wrapped up, I lost a

  755. Brother Jim: year.

  756. Brother Jim: I thought I was fifty two and here I'm fifty three.

  757. Brother Jim: So, you know, again, only fifty three years.

  758. Brother Jim: Think about a billion.

  759. Brother Jim: Think about just a million.

  760. Brother Jim: Let's keep it a thousand years, David.

  761. Brother Jim: A thousand years of what's the

  762. Brother Jim: worst thing here on earth that

  763. Brother Jim: you've experienced.

  764. David: That I've experienced?

  765. David: Yeah. How about.

  766. Brother Jim: Physical pain?

  767. Brother Jim: How about physical pain?

  768. David: Uh, thankfully, I haven't had too much physical pain, but, uh,

  769. David: I mean, you know, I've had my back go out where I can't get

  770. David: off the floor before.

  771. David: Okay, that's that's no fun.

  772. David: No fun?

  773. Brother Jim: No, uh, kidney stones for me.

  774. David: MM. Yeah.

  775. Brother Jim: Yes. So I'm trying to wrap my head around.

  776. Brother Jim: Okay, let's just go.

  777. Brother Jim: Six months of kidney stones would be because with kidney

  778. Brother Jim: stones, you're just.

  779. Brother Jim: You're almost praying for death, you know?

  780. Brother Jim: I mean, no matter what you do

  781. Brother Jim: position you get in, there's no

  782. Brother Jim: relief.

  783. David: Yeah.

  784. Brother Jim: So, and I'm sure people out

  785. Brother Jim: there have had it a lot worse,

  786. Brother Jim: but I'm just trying to compare

  787. Brother Jim: to what I've known, uh, kidney

  788. Brother Jim: stones.

  789. Brother Jim: So. But yeah, just think about

  790. Brother Jim: now we burn our hand, David,

  791. Brother Jim: our, our automatic reaction, the

  792. Brother Jim: human body is to pull our hand

  793. Brother Jim: back.

  794. Brother Jim: Correct?

  795. David: Sure. Yeah.

  796. Brother Jim: Yeah. Well, what if you can't?

  797. Brother Jim: What if the flames are so great?

  798. Brother Jim: I'm just saying, you know, if we're going to go that road,

  799. Brother Jim: there's no escaping it.

  800. Brother Jim: You know, when it's ninety some degrees out, humidity is high.

  801. Brother Jim: We can go inside and hit the AC.

  802. Brother Jim: True.

  803. David: Yep.

  804. Brother Jim: Yeah. Not in hell.

  805. Brother Jim: All alone, my friends.

  806. Brother Jim: All alone.

  807. Brother Jim: And David, you brought up a good point here.

  808. Brother Jim: Back when your one son missed out on graduation.

  809. Brother Jim: What did Covid bring?

  810. David: A lot of sadness and despair.

  811. David: Sadness, loneliness.

  812. Brother Jim: There you go.

  813. Brother Jim: Not the best in the business for nothing, folks.

  814. Brother Jim: Loneliness.

  815. Brother Jim: And again, loneliness.

  816. Brother Jim: We discussed that just a little bit last week.

  817. Brother Jim: There's not going to be.

  818. Brother Jim: Hey, David.

  819. Brother Jim: How you doing, buddy?

  820. Brother Jim: Yeah.

  821. Brother Jim: You want to go catch the fireball down at the.

  822. Brother Jim: No. No loneliness.

  823. Brother Jim: You're all by yourself in the absence of God.

  824. Brother Jim: Absence of God.

  825. Brother Jim: So why take a chance, my friends?

  826. Brother Jim: Why take a chance?

  827. Brother Jim: How about we close with prayer

  828. Brother Jim: today before we go into our

  829. Brother Jim: ending?

  830. Brother Jim: Heavenly father, help us take

  831. Brother Jim: eternity seriously while still

  832. Brother Jim: seeking truth with love and

  833. Brother Jim: compassion.

  834. Brother Jim: Soften hardened hearts and open eyes to the hope found in Jesus

  835. Brother Jim: Christ, your son.

  836. Brother Jim: Forgive us for the times we have treated holy things casually.

  837. Brother Jim: Give us boldness to share the gospel and hearts that care

  838. Brother Jim: deeply for lost people.

  839. Brother Jim: Thank you for your mercy, grace,

  840. Brother Jim: and salvation through Jesus

  841. Brother Jim: Christ.

  842. Brother Jim: In Jesus name we pray.

  843. Brother Jim: Amen.

  844. Brother Jim: Well, my friends, that just about does it for this.

  845. Brother Jim: Tuesday, May nineteenth, twenty twenty six.

  846. Brother Jim: Mr. David, my friends, any

  847. Brother Jim: closing thoughts or comments for

  848. Brother Jim: this segment?

  849. David: No, I think you said most of it,

  850. David: but I mean, it bears repeating

  851. David: that, you know, hell's forever,

  852. David: just like heaven's forever,

  853. David: hell's forever.

  854. David: So, you know, you don't you want you want something a little bit

  855. David: better than fire insurance.

  856. David: Do you really want to skate there along the along the edge,

  857. David: hoping that you get in or hoping you want to be a little closer

  858. David: to God and know.

  859. David: Know where you're going?

  860. David: Yeah.

  861. Brother Jim: Hope in one hand.

  862. Brother Jim: And you know what in the other.

  863. Brother Jim: What's going to fill up first?

  864. Brother Jim: Just being honest, guys.

  865. Brother Jim: Just being honest.

  866. Brother Jim: Well, to all our friends listening this morning, please

  867. Brother Jim: remember this before you go.

  868. Brother Jim: You.

  869. Brother Jim: Yes, you have meaning.

  870. Brother Jim: You have value.

  871. Brother Jim: And most of all, you are loved.

  872. Brother Jim: Never forget that God created you with purpose and this world

  873. Brother Jim: is better because you are in it.

  874. Brother Jim: May God continue to bless you, guide you, strengthen you, and

  875. Brother Jim: walk beside you through every moment of this day.

  876. Brother Jim: And may you and I continue to thank our Lord above for all the

  877. Brother Jim: blessings we often take, two granted for each and every day.

  878. Brother Jim: So whenever, wherever life takes

  879. Brother Jim: you today, keep smiling, keep

  880. Brother Jim: believing, keep loving, and keep

  881. Brother Jim: trusting God.

  882. Brother Jim: And remember this if we meet

  883. Brother Jim: again, well then we will smile

  884. Brother Jim: and rejoice.

  885. Brother Jim: And if not, then this parting was well made.

  886. Brother Jim: Thank you for joining Dave and myself here on Bible Bridge,

  887. Brother Jim: Bible bibs and a prayer.

  888. Brother Jim: Until next time.

  889. Brother Jim: This is the big guy, Brother Jim, out.
