-
Brother Jim: So good morning family, good morning friends and good morning
-
Brother Jim: to the whole wide world.
-
Brother Jim: Welcome to your daily start and
-
Brother Jim: your local funny farm wherever
-
Brother Jim: you are joining us from this
-
Brother Jim: morning.
-
Brother Jim: We are so glad you are here with us today.
-
Brother Jim: Friends, you are blessed.
-
Brother Jim: Yes, you are blessed with David and myself, the dynamic duo to
-
Brother Jim: hopefully bring some joy and truth into your life, plus a
-
Brother Jim: whole lot of Jesus.
-
Brother Jim: Plus, there's a bonus here.
-
Brother Jim: Just enough madness and offbeat humor to keep things just a
-
Brother Jim: little bit interesting.
-
Brother Jim: We've got it all right here on Bible bibs and prayer just
-
Brother Jim: waiting for you.
-
Brother Jim: Whether you're sipping your
-
Brother Jim: first cup of coffee, rushing out
-
Brother Jim: the door.
-
Brother Jim: Sitting in traffic.
-
Brother Jim: Trying not to go crazy.
-
Brother Jim: Driving through construction there on two fifty.
-
Brother Jim: What a joy that is.
-
Brother Jim: Or just trying to wake up enough to remember what day it is.
-
Brother Jim: We are thankful you are spending part of your morning with us.
-
Brother Jim: Or afternoon or evening.
-
Brother Jim: So settle in, wake up, laugh a
-
Brother Jim: little, and let us help make
-
Brother Jim: this morning, this afternoon or
-
Brother Jim: evening, count.
-
Brother Jim: You know, folks, my wife and I always laugh at how competitive
-
Brother Jim: we both are.
-
Brother Jim: But if the truth be known, I laugh a whole lot more than her.
-
Brother Jim: Actually, that's not true.
-
Brother Jim: She laughs a lot more than me,
-
Brother Jim: because every time she looks at
-
Brother Jim: me, it brings a chuckle to her
-
Brother Jim: face.
-
Brother Jim: All right, how about first off,
-
Brother Jim: let you and I thank God for
-
Brother Jim: another day.
-
Brother Jim: We did not have to set the alarm for because we are already awake
-
Brother Jim: and we are blessed.
-
Brother Jim: Welcome to the show.
-
Brother Jim: Let us turn this in from a conversation into an experience,
-
Brother Jim: and today I decided to not go with the bibs.
-
Brother Jim: We celebrated Pentecost Sunday this past Sunday.
-
Brother Jim: Now you can wear red to help represent Pentecost.
-
Brother Jim: But I thought, you know what?
-
Brother Jim: We're going to go with the nice little vest, David, and the red
-
Brother Jim: tie trying to match here.
-
Brother Jim: So yeah, we'll put the bibs, uh, to rest today.
-
Brother Jim: Now, if you want to see me in bibs, you can go to our Facebook
-
Brother Jim: there under his abilities.
-
Brother Jim: And David, I got a little bit of and this was a shame.
-
Brother Jim: We had a game there the other night where, uh, you had a
-
Brother Jim: clicker and it had a hand.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: And they had this delicious whipped cream on it.
-
Brother Jim: Not cool whip whipped cream.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: And me being the glutton that I am, once I got my whipped cream
-
Brother Jim: in the face, most people wiped it off, but not me.
-
Brother Jim: Oh, no. In the mouth it goes.
-
Brother Jim: Why would you want to waste it?
-
Brother Jim: Why would you waste?
-
Brother Jim: Good.
-
Brother Jim: That's right.
-
Brother Jim: Are you one who shakes it up and sprays it in your mouth?
-
Brother Jim: Oh, absolutely.
-
Brother Jim: One of those little guilty pleasures.
-
Brother Jim: Absolutely.
-
Brother Jim: I love the canned whipped cream.
-
Brother Jim: But in saying that, allow me to bring in my co-host.
-
Brother Jim: In my world, every funny farm needs someone to help keep the
-
Brother Jim: rain on track.
-
Brother Jim: The rain and it is raining out there, let me tell you.
-
Brother Jim: How about we keep the train on tracks?
-
Brother Jim: Or at least help explain why it
-
Brother Jim: came off the track in the first
-
Brother Jim: place?
-
Brother Jim: Ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together.
-
Brother Jim: Yes, put them together.
-
Brother Jim: Come on now.
-
Brother Jim: Woo woo woo woo.
-
Brother Jim: For a man among men, a true broadcasting pioneer.
-
Brother Jim: And a face that only a mother could love.
-
Brother Jim: And even the minister said
-
Brother Jim: occasionally she needs a moment
-
Brother Jim: for that.
-
Brother Jim: This guy threw at his own kid and father.
-
Brother Jim: Son the ball game.
-
Brother Jim: Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. David Keener.
-
Brother Jim: Plus, he is one of my very, very
-
Brother Jim: best friends in the whole wide
-
Brother Jim: world.
-
Brother Jim: Good morning sir.
-
David: Good morning.
-
David: You have to throw at your own kid.
-
David: It builds character, right?
-
Brother Jim: Oh, yes.
-
Brother Jim: Now, before we go there, David.
-
Brother Jim: I was watching this guy on YouTube.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: He's supposed to be the best hitter on YouTube.
-
David: Okay.
-
Brother Jim: Short little chubby guy.
-
Brother Jim: And he's in all these batting
-
Brother Jim: cages, and he had like five
-
Brother Jim: different pitchers, each
-
Brother Jim: representing like, uh, softball,
-
Brother Jim: fast pitch, major league
-
Brother Jim: baseball.
-
Brother Jim: But they had these special wiffle balls.
-
Brother Jim: Mhm.
-
Brother Jim: Have you seen them?
-
Brother Jim: That you can do the crazy?
-
David: Oh, yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah. The dude was throwing one hundred and five, one hundred
-
Brother Jim: and seven miles.
-
David: With a wiffle ball.
-
Brother Jim: With these wiffle balls.
-
Brother Jim: Now, these are the ones that.
-
Brother Jim: And I forget the name of them.
-
Brother Jim: But you can do all kinds of tricks.
-
Brother Jim: But can you imagine throwing that fast?
-
Brother Jim: Now, I think they're a little bit more weighted.
-
Brother Jim: And he even had a rugby pitcher in there.
-
Brother Jim: Now I'm not rugby.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, uh, England's baseball version.
-
David: Uh uh.
-
Brother Jim: What is that where they got the board?
-
David: Yeah, I can see.
-
David: I can't think of the name of it
-
David: because, you know, we're
-
David: America.
-
David: Yeah, we'll play that America.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah. But oh my goodness.
-
Brother Jim: The ball hits in front of the batter and comes up.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: And they got all kinds of different balls he was throwing.
-
Brother Jim: And that poor guy he.
-
Brother Jim: And when he did connect, it didn't go very far because it
-
Brother Jim: simulates how far, you know.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: If it'd be a base run, home run, whatever.
-
Brother Jim: So kind of interesting though.
-
Brother Jim: But what amazed me, they brought
-
Brother Jim: in a pro softball female
-
Brother Jim: pitcher.
-
Brother Jim: Oh my goodness.
-
Brother Jim: She was bringing the heat.
-
Brother Jim: Now it wasn't as fast as a baseball, but what she could do
-
Brother Jim: with the curves and everything was just amazing.
-
David: And how do they do that?
-
David: Underhanded too.
-
Brother Jim: I don't know.
-
Brother Jim: I don't.
-
David: Know. I would throw it behind me somehow.
-
Brother Jim: But. And her biggest pitch was coming in high and just.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Inside coming right at you.
-
Brother Jim: And just drops across.
-
Brother Jim: That poor guy didn't have a prayer.
-
Brother Jim: He said, throw one across the plate.
-
Brother Jim: Throw one across right down the middle.
-
Brother Jim: And finally she did.
-
Brother Jim: And he whiffed it.
-
Brother Jim: So it's like.
-
Brother Jim: But yeah, it was entertaining.
-
Brother Jim: So anyway, sorry to go off on
-
Brother Jim: that, but, uh, yes, you're
-
Brother Jim: right.
-
Brother Jim: Why wouldn't you throw at your kid?
-
Brother Jim: You gotta establish the dominance.
-
David: That's right.
-
Brother Jim: That's right around here.
-
Brother Jim: All right.
-
Brother Jim: How was the weekend, sir?
-
David: It was good.
-
David: It was raining, of course.
-
David: Uh, my grass is about five feet tall.
-
David: If I can't mow soon, I'm going
-
David: to have to buy goats or
-
David: something.
-
Brother Jim: But I went out and tried mowing the other day.
-
Brother Jim: It was just.
-
Brother Jim: And I had forgot.
-
Brother Jim: I got my tractor stuck and I
-
Brother Jim: used a logging chain with a
-
Brother Jim: truck.
-
Brother Jim: That's how bad I got it.
-
Brother Jim: Well, a smart man would take the chain and put it back.
-
David: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: No. I'll remember it's there.
-
Brother Jim: Well guess what?
-
Brother Jim: I forgot it was there because of the growth.
-
Brother Jim: Yep.
-
Brother Jim: So off I went.
-
Brother Jim: Had to unhook the chain and then
-
Brother Jim: reset the belt and everything
-
Brother Jim: else.
-
David: So you and your belts, you just have more trouble with belts.
-
Brother Jim: Oh my goodness.
-
Brother Jim: I tell you, and that belt is expensive.
-
Brother Jim: So yes.
-
Brother Jim: So yeah, the grass is just out of control.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, you're leaving mud marks anywhere you mow.
-
Brother Jim: It's just.
-
Brother Jim: Why even bother?
-
Brother Jim: We got some good weather coming up, so.
-
Brother Jim: But of course, with heat and
-
Brother Jim: sun, that's just like grass on
-
Brother Jim: steroids.
-
David: Yep, yep.
-
Brother Jim: And again, not all of us can
-
Brother Jim: have those beautiful manicured
-
Brother Jim: lawns like the city dwellers,
-
Brother Jim: Mr. David.
-
David: That's true.
-
Brother Jim: Yes, but did you do anything fun?
-
Brother Jim: Interesting.
-
David: No. Not really, I did.
-
David: I did learn something
-
David: interesting, though you may not
-
David: be aware of this, that we're you
-
David: know, we're big fans of desserts
-
David: here, right?
-
David: So in Jamaica, a slice of pie
-
David: costs three dollars fifty cents,
-
David: right?
-
David: Mhm.
-
David: In Bahama, in the Bahamas, a slice of pie costs five dollars
-
David: and fifty cents.
-
David: These are the Pirates of the Caribbean.
-
David: Uh.
-
Brother Jim: He is not the best jokester in the world.
-
Brother Jim: That is great.
-
David: Pirates of.
-
Brother Jim: The Caribbean.
-
Brother Jim: You should have done a little Jack Sparrow imitation there.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, um, that just answered my question.
-
Brother Jim: Have you come across any good dad jokes lately that just blew
-
Brother Jim: it out of the water, my friends.
-
Brother Jim: Yes.
-
Brother Jim: Uh. I'll never match the master.
-
Brother Jim: I, I can tell you that he is in a league of his own.
-
Brother Jim: My friends, how about you?
-
Brother Jim: Have you got any good dad jokes?
-
Brother Jim: Somebody did drop off someone.
-
Brother Jim: A church desk the other day.
-
Brother Jim: I need to try some.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Yes, but, uh.
-
Brother Jim: And the word came out, David, that your mother has not been
-
Brother Jim: watching us lately.
-
David: Really?
-
Brother Jim: Your dad has?
-
Brother Jim: Yes, because he let her know
-
Brother Jim: that we've referred to the
-
Brother Jim: little monkey.
-
Brother Jim: You did not know?
-
David: You didn't know it, did that?
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
David: Oh, yeah.
-
David: That's a big feature of him.
-
Brother Jim: So grumpy Lynn. For her sake is now Happy Lynn.
-
Brother Jim: So we got the Happy Lynn right here.
-
Brother Jim: Lynn.
-
Brother Jim: Hope you're watching.
-
Brother Jim: But yes.
-
Brother Jim: But hey, around here we believe
-
Brother Jim: terrible jokes are part of the
-
Brother Jim: healing process.
-
Brother Jim: So stick stick with us and you soon will be healed.
-
Brother Jim: So. But yes, another sunrise
-
Brother Jim: means another chance to shine,
-
Brother Jim: another opportunity to smile,
-
Brother Jim: another opportunity to encourage
-
Brother Jim: somebody.
-
Brother Jim: So lift your head up.
-
Brother Jim: Take a deep breath, grab that coffee if you need it.
-
Brother Jim: And let us make today count together.
-
Brother Jim: But family, let us remember something this morning.
-
Brother Jim: Let's you and I just take a
-
Brother Jim: moment and thank God for another
-
Brother Jim: beautiful day and how blessed we
-
Brother Jim: are.
-
Brother Jim: You know, here on Bible Bibs in a prayer we admit life.
-
Brother Jim: It does get chaotic, Crazy, a
-
Brother Jim: little bit ups, a little bit of
-
Brother Jim: downs.
-
Brother Jim: But let us remind you that you never have to face life alone
-
Brother Jim: because we have Jesus.
-
Brother Jim: Yes, you have Jesus, we have Jesus.
-
Brother Jim: So come on and join Mr. David and myself, along with all the
-
Brother Jim: farmyard here as we say.
-
Brother Jim: Thank you, Lord, for another day.
-
Brother Jim: Rejoice that you are alive.
-
Brother Jim: And when you look in that mirror today, remember, hey, you're
-
Brother Jim: beautiful, you matter.
-
Brother Jim: You have purpose in this world.
-
Brother Jim: And most of all, oh my goodness, you are loved.
-
Brother Jim: Now, last night I accidentally superglued my thumb, thumb and
-
Brother Jim: my pointing finger together.
-
Brother Jim: It'll be okay for a while.
-
David: That was pretty.
-
Brother Jim: Good. I thought that was pretty good.
-
David: That was good.
-
Brother Jim: I thought that was pretty good.
-
Brother Jim: All righty.
-
Brother Jim: And we are not endorsing you.
-
Brother Jim: Take superglue and put your thumb and trigger finger to make
-
Brother Jim: an okay sign.
-
Brother Jim: Okay.
-
Brother Jim: But if you do, please send us a picture.
-
Brother Jim: All right.
-
Brother Jim: Our thought of the day, the
-
Brother Jim: cross proves that God wants to
-
Brother Jim: save people, not to condemn
-
Brother Jim: them.
-
Brother Jim: Now, We've been talking about hell here.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, you know why people laugh at hell?
-
Brother Jim: Who goes to hell?
-
Brother Jim: And we're going to continue that today on Who Goes to hell.
-
Brother Jim: We look at Matthew twenty five
-
Brother Jim: thirty one to forty six, along
-
Brother Jim: with revelation twenty eleven to
-
Brother Jim: fifteen.
-
Brother Jim: Now, let's be honest, folks,
-
Brother Jim: many people avoid talking about
-
Brother Jim: hell today.
-
Brother Jim: Some say it's too harsh, too scary.
-
Brother Jim: Others say, as we've touched on
-
Brother Jim: this, a loving God would never
-
Brother Jim: allow it.
-
Brother Jim: He would never send somebody to hell.
-
Brother Jim: But Jesus spoke about hell more
-
Brother Jim: than anyone else in the Bible,
-
Brother Jim: because he wanted people to
-
Brother Jim: understand the seriousness of
-
Brother Jim: rejecting.
-
Brother Jim: And that's a big word here,
-
Brother Jim: rejecting God and the greatness
-
Brother Jim: of salvation.
-
Brother Jim: Hell.
-
Brother Jim: And hear me on this, friends.
-
Brother Jim: Hell is not something to joke about, to ignore or celebrate.
-
Brother Jim: And yes, unfortunately, many celebrate hell celebrate Satan
-
Brother Jim: in our world, in our country, and yes, even in our area today.
-
Brother Jim: David, it blew my mind.
-
Brother Jim: I can't go into a lot of detail,
-
Brother Jim: but how would you feel about
-
Brother Jim: going into a situation where you
-
Brother Jim: have a good witch and you have a
-
Brother Jim: bad witch?
-
David: I mean, I'm not aware of any witches that are good.
-
David: I mean, I thought they were
-
David: technically bad, but what do I
-
David: know for.
-
Brother Jim: Pointing that out and my
-
Brother Jim: understanding there is no good
-
Brother Jim: witches.
-
Brother Jim: But could you imagine going into a situation where you have
-
Brother Jim: you're dealing with a person who's a good witch and a person
-
Brother Jim: who is a bad witch.
-
David: I mean, I guess if you believe
-
David: in those type of things, I could
-
David: imagine it would be kind of like
-
David: a catfight type situation, I
-
David: don't know.
-
Brother Jim: But imagine trying to help in that situation.
-
David: I don't even know where you start.
-
Brother Jim: Serious demonic activity, just in my opinion.
-
Brother Jim: Going on in a household.
-
David: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: So but again, you look at
-
Brother Jim: entertainment, we've encouraged
-
Brother Jim: that, you know, good witch,
-
Brother Jim: wasn't that a show good witches
-
Brother Jim: or.
-
David: I mean, even all the way back to The Wizard of Oz.
-
David: Wasn't Glinda the Good, the Good Witch or what have you?
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, the good witch.
-
Brother Jim: And then that poor old nasty looking witch.
-
Brother Jim: And they actually said the wicked, wicked witch of the.
-
Brother Jim: Was it the East or.
-
David: The West, I believe?
-
Brother Jim: Yeah. She was actually a very nice person, very nice person.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: But that that persona followed her the rest of her life.
-
David: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: You know, she always had to fight that in any other type of
-
Brother Jim: character she would take on.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: But I heard she went out of her
-
Brother Jim: way to try to say, hey, no, I'm
-
Brother Jim: not what I played on The Wizard
-
Brother Jim: of Oz.
-
Brother Jim: But, uh, again, hell is something not to joke about,
-
Brother Jim: ignore, or celebrate.
-
Brother Jim: It is a warning from a loving God who desires people to repent
-
Brother Jim: and come to him again.
-
Brother Jim: Hell was never God's desire for for humanity.
-
Brother Jim: Jesus said in Matthew twenty
-
Brother Jim: five forty one that hell was
-
Brother Jim: prepared for the devil and his
-
Brother Jim: angels.
-
Brother Jim: Did you hear that?
-
Brother Jim: Prepared for the devil and his angels.
-
Brother Jim: God created people for fellowship, not destruction.
-
Brother Jim: The Bible tells us that God desires people to turn to him
-
Brother Jim: and live a life for him.
-
Brother Jim: He offers mercy, he offers
-
Brother Jim: forgiveness, and he offers
-
Brother Jim: salvation through His Son, Jesus
-
Brother Jim: Christ.
-
Brother Jim: The cross proves that God does not delight in judgment.
-
Brother Jim: Now, as a father David, do you
-
Brother Jim: delight in punishing your
-
Brother Jim: children?
-
David: Absolutely not.
-
Brother Jim: Did you set them up to hurt themselves?
-
David: Nope.
-
Brother Jim: No. You try to nurture them.
-
Brother Jim: You try to give them the tools.
-
Brother Jim: Correct?
-
David: That's right.
-
Brother Jim: To set your sons up for a
-
Brother Jim: future, you want to mold them,
-
Brother Jim: nurture them so they can have
-
Brother Jim: prosperity.
-
Brother Jim: Do the right thing.
-
David: Yep.
-
Brother Jim: Love. Have joy.
-
Brother Jim: Not set them up for destruction.
-
Brother Jim: Because I would really question you as a father, correct?
-
David: Absolutely.
-
Brother Jim: So there you go.
-
Brother Jim: God is the Almighty Father.
-
Brother Jim: He doesn't want us to go to hell, but he loves us so much.
-
Brother Jim: Again, he lets you and I, David, have a choice.
-
Brother Jim: Viewers, he lets you have a
-
Brother Jim: choice on who do you want to
-
Brother Jim: serve?
-
Brother Jim: Do you want to serve the world, which to me equals Satan?
-
Brother Jim: Or do you want to serve a loving God?
-
Brother Jim: And again, he does not delight in judgment.
-
Brother Jim: If he did, there would have been no need to send His Son Jesus to
-
Brother Jim: suffer and die for our sins.
-
Brother Jim: And yes, he did do that now.
-
Brother Jim: Sin separates people from God, and we've talked about that.
-
Brother Jim: The problem is not that God is cruel.
-
Brother Jim: The problem is sin.
-
Brother Jim: Romans three twenty three says, for all have sinned and fall
-
Brother Jim: short of the glory of God.
-
Brother Jim: Now wait a minute, David.
-
Brother Jim: I'm a pretty good guy.
-
David: Yep.
-
Brother Jim: I don't sin like all them other folks.
-
David: Yep.
-
Brother Jim: MM. But it says here.
-
Brother Jim: For all have sinned and all fall short of the glory of God.
-
Brother Jim: But David, I come to church every Sunday.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, David.
-
Brother Jim: I lead the congregation.
-
Brother Jim: David.
-
Brother Jim: I put my money in the tithing plate.
-
David: You don't appear on the Mount Rushmore of sins.
-
Brother Jim: Oh. Somebody's listening. Amen. Yes.
-
Brother Jim: Yes. Either you believe the word of God.
-
Brother Jim: Word of God, or you don't, right?
-
David: That's right.
-
Brother Jim: We cherry pick too much.
-
Brother Jim: And I know I've seen it, David.
-
Brother Jim: I love to see facial expressions, especially when you
-
Brother Jim: say, for all have sinned.
-
Brother Jim: I'm talking to you, brothers and sisters.
-
Brother Jim: And especially talking to the guy, looking back, looking at
-
Brother Jim: you right now, and we fall short of the glory of God.
-
Brother Jim: Sin separates us from a holy God.
-
Brother Jim: Pride, hatred, greed, jealousy,
-
Brother Jim: unforgiveness, lying,
-
Brother Jim: immorality, and rebellion
-
Brother Jim: against God.
-
Brother Jim: All damage damage our relationship with him.
-
Brother Jim: David, did you ever damage a
-
Brother Jim: relationship with your mom or
-
Brother Jim: dad?
-
David: Yep.
-
Brother Jim: Usually it was your fault, right?
-
David: Yep.
-
Brother Jim: Exactly.
-
David: Yep.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah. We're the knuckleheads.
-
Brother Jim: We screw up because a lot of
-
Brother Jim: times we think we know better,
-
Brother Jim: right?
-
David: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: And as a loving father, have you.
-
Brother Jim: Will you let your kids sometimes?
-
Brother Jim: Hey, I told you not to do it, but you go ahead and find out.
-
Brother Jim: Sometimes we gotta learn the hard way.
-
David: Unfortunately, yeah.
-
David: It's true.
-
Brother Jim: Now there is that limit.
-
Brother Jim: Now, son, I'm not going to let
-
Brother Jim: you go out and play in the
-
Brother Jim: street.
-
David: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: But here's the reasons why.
-
Brother Jim: Look at that dead squirrel laying there on the street.
-
Brother Jim: This is what happened.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: You know, again, there's that fine line, but sometimes.
-
Brother Jim: All right, I think, well, I know it in my own life.
-
Brother Jim: God said, alright, you go ahead.
-
Brother Jim: You're going to do what you want to do and then you come back.
-
Brother Jim: Okay.
-
Brother Jim: Should have listened to you, God.
-
Brother Jim: Sometimes people compare themselves to others and say, I
-
Brother Jim: am not as bad as that person on the Mount Rushmore.
-
Brother Jim: Tune in to Sunday morning.
-
Brother Jim: We talk about that a little bit, but salvation is not based on
-
Brother Jim: comparing ourselves to others.
-
Brother Jim: It is based on whether we have been forgiven and transformed
-
Brother Jim: through Jesus Christ.
-
Brother Jim: Those who reject Christ remain separated from God.
-
Brother Jim: Yes, those who reject Christ remain.
-
Brother Jim: Let's say that word together, separated from God.
-
Brother Jim: Jesus said in John fourteen six,
-
Brother Jim: I am the way, the truth, and the
-
Brother Jim: life.
-
Brother Jim: No one, no one comes to the father except through me.
-
Brother Jim: So again, David, our work is going to get us in.
-
David: Nope.
-
Brother Jim: Being a good person going to get a sin?
-
David: Nope.
-
Brother Jim: Ah!
-
Brother Jim: Come on.
-
Brother Jim: David.
-
Brother Jim: I stopped and helped that little
-
Brother Jim: old lady across the street the
-
Brother Jim: other day.
-
David: That's nice, but it's not going to get you into heaven.
-
Brother Jim: Get me into heaven!
-
David: Really?
-
David: Nope.
-
Brother Jim: Oh, man.
-
Brother Jim: Again.
-
Brother Jim: Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
-
Brother Jim: And no one comes to the father except through me.
-
Brother Jim: Pretty straight, isn't it?
-
David: Yeah, I think pretty straight.
-
Brother Jim: I mean, that's pretty simple English.
-
Brother Jim: The Bible teaches that salvation
-
Brother Jim: comes through faith in Jesus
-
Brother Jim: Christ.
-
Brother Jim: God freely offers grace, but people must choose.
-
Brother Jim: Here we go again that free will.
-
Brother Jim: People must choose whether to accept or reject him.
-
Brother Jim: So in saying all that, it's your choice, my friends.
-
Brother Jim: Do you want door number one or door number two?
-
Brother Jim: Pretty simple.
-
Brother Jim: A person does not go to hell
-
Brother Jim: because God refused to love
-
Brother Jim: them.
-
Brother Jim: They go because they refuse the forgiveness and salvation
-
Brother Jim: offered through Christ.
-
Brother Jim: This should not make Christians proud.
-
Brother Jim: It should make us compassionate
-
Brother Jim: and urgent about sharing the
-
Brother Jim: gospel.
-
Brother Jim: Religious activity alone cannot save anyone.
-
Brother Jim: Jesus warned that some people would claim religion but never
-
Brother Jim: truly know him.
-
Brother Jim: Do we have that in our world today, David?
-
David: I think we do.
-
Brother Jim: Do we have that in our pastors?
-
David: Sometimes, yeah.
-
David: Yes.
-
Brother Jim: Do we have that in our churches?
-
David: Absolutely.
-
Brother Jim: Even the ones that have been
-
Brother Jim: keeping them warm for sixty,
-
Brother Jim: seventy years.
-
David: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Has done it all, done it all, man.
-
Brother Jim: Served on every board, taught
-
Brother Jim: Sunday school, you know, lay
-
Brother Jim: leader.
-
David: A pillar of the assembly.
-
Brother Jim: A pillar of.
-
Brother Jim: I like that, yes.
-
Brother Jim: But did they truly know him?
-
Brother Jim: Church attendance alone.
-
Brother Jim: Oh, church attendance alone cannot save us.
-
Brother Jim: Tuning in to Bible bibs and a prayer.
-
Brother Jim: Newsflash cannot save you.
-
Brother Jim: Good works alone cannot save us.
-
Brother Jim: Being raised in a Christian home cannot save us.
-
Brother Jim: God looks at the heart.
-
Brother Jim: A true relationship with Christ
-
Brother Jim: changes a person from the inside
-
Brother Jim: out.
-
Brother Jim: Now we have.
-
Brother Jim: God's grace is available right now.
-
Brother Jim: Ladies and gentlemen, right now.
-
Brother Jim: And guess what?
-
Brother Jim: There is no time that this is
-
Brother Jim: going to expire until God says
-
Brother Jim: enough.
-
Brother Jim: So you're kind of playing with
-
Brother Jim: the old game of Russian
-
Brother Jim: roulette.
-
Brother Jim: Let's spin the chamber and see how many pulls I get.
-
Brother Jim: Excuse me, I get one of the
-
Brother Jim: greatest truths in Scripture is
-
Brother Jim: that no one is beyond God's
-
Brother Jim: mercy while they still have
-
Brother Jim: breath.
-
Brother Jim: So, David, do you think the person lying there in a coma,
-
Brother Jim: their last breaths coming.
-
Brother Jim: Do they still have an opportunity?
-
David: I mean, if they're still conscious and able to think.
-
David: Yeah, sure.
-
Brother Jim: I am a firm believer Jesus will work on you to the very end.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, to the very, very end.
-
Brother Jim: Maybe we can't communicate with
-
Brother Jim: you, but I truly believe in my
-
Brother Jim: heart.
-
Brother Jim: Christ will work.
-
Brother Jim: But again, why wait?
-
Brother Jim: Right?
-
Brother Jim: Why wait?
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Do yourself, do your family a favor and accept Christ now so
-
Brother Jim: they don't have to worry.
-
Brother Jim: Because one of the worst things in the world for a pastor is to
-
Brother Jim: stand there at a celebration of life, doing the eulogy, and in
-
Brother Jim: the back of your mind thinking, wow, did they really make it?
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, because here's a newsflash.
-
Brother Jim: I've said it and I'll keep on saying I can't pray into heaven.
-
Brother Jim: David can't pray into heaven.
-
Brother Jim: We can't do it.
-
Brother Jim: I can light candles.
-
Brother Jim: I can recite scripture.
-
Brother Jim: I can pray over you.
-
Brother Jim: I can even anoint the body.
-
Brother Jim: It's not going to do any good, my friends.
-
Brother Jim: The thief on the cross turned to
-
Brother Jim: Jesus in his final moments and
-
Brother Jim: found forgiveness.
-
Brother Jim: No matter what someone has done, God can forgive.
-
Brother Jim: God can restore.
-
Brother Jim: God can save you.
-
Brother Jim: That is why the church must continue preaching hope, truth,
-
Brother Jim: repentance, and grace.
-
Brother Jim: Again, Pentecost Sunday and tune in.
-
Brother Jim: This is our second Sunday on
-
Brother Jim: talking about the Great
-
Brother Jim: Commission.
-
Brother Jim: Basically God said, don't hang around.
-
Brother Jim: Go, go, go, go out into the world.
-
Brother Jim: Imagine standing outside during
-
Brother Jim: a terrible storm while someone
-
Brother Jim: inside opens the door and says,
-
Brother Jim: come on in, David, where it's
-
Brother Jim: safe.
-
Brother Jim: If a person refuses to enter, the shelter was still offered.
-
Brother Jim: Jesus is the open door of salvation.
-
Brother Jim: He invites people to come to him before it is too late.
-
Brother Jim: So let me ask you something.
-
Brother Jim: The question is, is not am I better than someone else?
-
Brother Jim: The question is, have I truly
-
Brother Jim: surrendered my life to Jesus
-
Brother Jim: Christ today?
-
Brother Jim: My friends, today, no matter where you are, what part of the
-
Brother Jim: world you're in, today is the day that you can repent.
-
Brother Jim: You can believe, and you can
-
Brother Jim: choose to start following him
-
Brother Jim: because God's desire is not
-
Brother Jim: condemnation.
-
Brother Jim: His desire is salvation for each of his creations.
-
Brother Jim: Think about it, my friends.
-
Brother Jim: You know, I pray you think about that.
-
Brother Jim: I really do.
-
Brother Jim: David and myself, again, we're not on here trying to fill time,
-
Brother Jim: air time with just gibberish.
-
Brother Jim: There's a point to all this because that clock is ticking.
-
Brother Jim: And again, as I said Sunday morning, David, you don't know
-
Brother Jim: what tomorrow holds.
-
Brother Jim: I don't know what tomorrow.
-
Brother Jim: Now we can hope.
-
Brother Jim: We can have plans, but we don't know.
-
Brother Jim: Something to think about.
-
Brother Jim: Do you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?
-
Brother Jim: If you were to die today, tonight, tomorrow, where would
-
Brother Jim: you spend eternity?
-
Brother Jim: Well, my friends, that just about does it for this.
-
Brother Jim: Tuesday, May twenty six, twenty twenty six.
-
Brother Jim: Mr. David, my friend, any closing thoughts or comments
-
Brother Jim: before we wrap this thing up and send those these fine folks back
-
Brother Jim: out into the world.
-
David: Now, as you were speaking about, the clock is ticking.
-
David: There's a the folks can't hear
-
David: it because of the way the
-
David: equipment works.
-
David: But there's a clock right over
-
David: my shoulder here, and it's
-
David: ticking.
-
David: And I can hear it every.
-
Brother Jim: Time a clock.
-
David: Tick tick, tick.
-
David: Yeah. And you know, nobody is guaranteed tomorrow.
-
David: I'm reminded, you know, here, here recently we lost, uh, the
-
David: race car driver.
-
Brother Jim: Oh yeah.
-
David: Kyle Busch. Kyle Busch.
-
David: And, you know, forty one years
-
David: old, two young kids and, you
-
David: know, went from having a cold
-
David: turned into pneumonia, turned
-
David: into sepsis.
-
David: And, you know, in a matter of a week, he was gone from fame.
-
Brother Jim: Fortune.
-
David: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: To now return to the to the earth.
-
David: Yeah. Tomorrow is promised to no one.
-
David: So I, as I said, I think last
-
David: week, we don't want just fire
-
David: insurance.
-
David: You don't want that last.
-
David: Oh, Jesus saved me.
-
David: Right before you go out, I mean.
-
David: Right.
-
Brother Jim: Get a lot of people.
-
Brother Jim: I used to be that way myself, I got time.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: When I'm older, I'll get right with God.
-
David: Yep. Tomorrow's promised to no one.
-
Brother Jim: So, David, looking back on my life, there's been a lot of
-
Brother Jim: close, close moments.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Playing with fire, my friends.
-
Brother Jim: Yep.
-
Brother Jim: Well, to all our friends listening this morning.
-
Brother Jim: This afternoon, please remember this before you go.
-
Brother Jim: You.
-
Brother Jim: Yes, you you have meaning.
-
Brother Jim: You have value.
-
Brother Jim: And most of all, you are loved.
-
Brother Jim: Never forget that God created you with purpose and this world
-
Brother Jim: is better because you are in it.
-
Brother Jim: May God continue to bless you, guide you, strengthen you, and
-
Brother Jim: walk beside you through every moment of this day.
-
Brother Jim: And may you and I continue to thank our Lord above for all the
-
Brother Jim: blessings he has given us.
-
Brother Jim: And yes, that we take for granted each and every day.
-
Brother Jim: So wherever life takes you
-
Brother Jim: today, keep smiling, keep
-
Brother Jim: believing, keep loving, and keep
-
Brother Jim: trusting God.
-
Brother Jim: And remember this if we meet again, well then we will smile
-
Brother Jim: and we will rejoice together.
-
Brother Jim: And if not, then this parting was well made.
-
Brother Jim: Thank you for joining David and
-
Brother Jim: myself here on Bible bibs and a
-
Brother Jim: prayer.
-
Brother Jim: Until next time.
-
Brother Jim: This is the big guy, Brother Jim, out.
