-
Singer: Come on and listen to Bible bibs and a prayer.
-
Brother Jim: Hey, you!
-
Brother Jim: Yes, you.
-
Brother Jim: May I have your attention, please?
-
Brother Jim: How you doing?
-
Brother Jim: Allow me to brighten your day.
-
Brother Jim: Because it's time, my friends.
-
Brother Jim: Time for Bible.
-
Brother Jim: Bibs and a prayer.
-
Brother Jim: Whether you are driving down the road, sitting at your desk,
-
Brother Jim: mowing the lawn, or mowing the lawn, or pretending to work
-
Brother Jim: while secretly listening to us, your favorite podcast.
-
Brother Jim: We are grateful you are making a choice to spend a little time
-
Brother Jim: with us today.
-
Brother Jim: Now, the goal of Bible bibs and a prayer is quite simple.
-
Brother Jim: Like us.
-
Brother Jim: Kind of like your host.
-
Brother Jim: Well, yeah, as I said, kind of like your host for this morning.
-
Brother Jim: Our goal is to talk about God's Word, encourage one another in
-
Brother Jim: our faith, share a few laughs, a lot of laughs, and hopefully
-
Brother Jim: leave you just a little bit closer to Jesus than when you
-
Brother Jim: start listening to us.
-
Brother Jim: So grab your coffee, your rocket fuel, your Bible.
-
Brother Jim: That would even be better.
-
Brother Jim: Buckle up and let's get ready to hit the road, because we are
-
Brother Jim: fast and we are furious.
-
Brother Jim: I don't know how fast we are anymore, David.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, but we can be furious.
-
Brother Jim: Yes.
-
Brother Jim: Yes.
-
Brother Jim: Kind of like combining a turtle with a wolverine.
-
Brother Jim: Can you do that on a computer?
-
Brother Jim: Put a wolverine and a turtle together.
-
David: Uh, maybe we'll see if that comes out.
-
Brother Jim: All righty.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah. A picture of you and I.
-
Brother Jim: But, hey, this is Bible bibs and
-
Brother Jim: a prayer.
-
Brother Jim: Let's get started.
-
Brother Jim: Number one, we are grateful you are here.
-
Brother Jim: And since you're here, why don't you ignore your responsibilities
-
Brother Jim: for the day?
-
Brother Jim: Just for a few minutes.
-
Brother Jim: Pretend your inbox, as always, does not exist.
-
Brother Jim: And you know what?
-
Brother Jim: As David, I know he's such a fan of emails, but who cares about
-
Brother Jim: all the blah blah blah?
-
Brother Jim: Hey, we can offer special warranty for you.
-
Brother Jim: Hey, we can do this.
-
Brother Jim: We can do that, huh?
-
Brother Jim: I tell you.
-
Brother Jim: But let us spread.
-
Brother Jim: Spend us a little time laugh and
-
Brother Jim: learning and growing together in
-
Brother Jim: Christ.
-
Brother Jim: Because around here we believe that it's.
-
Brother Jim: Life is serious enough already, so we might as well walk through
-
Brother Jim: it with a little faith, a little laughter, a lot of grace, and
-
Brother Jim: two good looking guys coming into your home today.
-
Brother Jim: Hey folks, did you know the first French fries weren't
-
Brother Jim: actually cooked in France?
-
Brother Jim: They were cooked in Greece.
-
Brother Jim: And how's the moon?
-
Brother Jim: Like dentures.
-
Brother Jim: Both come out at night.
-
Brother Jim: I thought those two were pretty good.
-
Brother Jim: Yes, it is.
-
Brother Jim: Double joke.
-
Brother Jim: Thursday.
-
Brother Jim: Come on, friends, let's turn
-
Brother Jim: this in from a conversation into
-
Brother Jim: an experience.
-
Brother Jim: What a blessing.
-
Brother Jim: Right, Miss Ida?
-
Brother Jim: I had to move him here.
-
Brother Jim: Mr. Dan the chicken man.
-
Brother Jim: Happy?
-
Brother Jim: Lynn.
-
Brother Jim: And of course, Mr. Tom, the dead turkey.
-
Brother Jim: Hang in there, buddy.
-
Brother Jim: Thanksgiving is just around the corner.
-
Brother Jim: All right.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, so in saying all that, good morning to you.
-
Brother Jim: Good morning, our friends.
-
Brother Jim: Good morning to the whole wide world.
-
Brother Jim: Let us take a moment and thank God for another beautiful day.
-
Brother Jim: You know what?
-
Brother Jim: We got breath in our lungs.
-
Brother Jim: The hearts are beaten.
-
Brother Jim: And, uh, we can see.
-
Brother Jim: Hopefully we can hear.
-
Brother Jim: We can move.
-
Brother Jim: And yes, it might hurt a little bit, but that's okay because we
-
Brother Jim: got another opportunity to grow, learn and try again.
-
Brother Jim: Because here on Bible Bibs in Prayer, we do not just roll out
-
Brother Jim: of bed and now we're not surviving the morning.
-
Brother Jim: I gotta be honest, there are
-
Brother Jim: mornings we're just trying to
-
Brother Jim: survive.
-
Brother Jim: But for the majority of the time we started with gratitude.
-
Brother Jim: We started with a good conversation.
-
Brother Jim: We started with positive energy and some questionable jokes.
-
Brother Jim: But that's what makes us fun and makes us so special.
-
Brother Jim: Here's one for you listeners out there.
-
Brother Jim: What do you call a man who is, oh, wait a minute here.
-
Brother Jim: Got it.
-
Brother Jim: Boy, I want to make sure I do this right.
-
Brother Jim: My friends, I want to do the right introduction for my
-
Brother Jim: co-host and partner in crime.
-
Brother Jim: God made him special.
-
Brother Jim: Yes, he did.
-
Brother Jim: And then he broke the mold just to be safe.
-
Brother Jim: If looks could kill, he'd be completely harmless.
-
Brother Jim: And yes, my friends, there are times he is just a bit outside.
-
Brother Jim: Please welcome the one, the only, Mr. David Keener.
-
Brother Jim: And plus, just not my co-host.
-
Brother Jim: But he is one of my best friends in the whole wide world.
-
Brother Jim: Good morning, my friend.
-
Brother Jim: How is life treating you in Kingsville today?
-
David: Good morning.
-
David: You know, I'm used to taking these ribs.
-
David: I was driving with my car, the other my wife the other day in
-
David: the car and she said, you really have no sense of direction.
-
David: And I said, where did that come from?
-
Brother Jim: Took just a second there.
-
Brother Jim: Was there another line coming?
-
Brother Jim: But I got it, I got it.
-
Brother Jim: Did you get it?
-
Brother Jim: Ah!
-
Brother Jim: Where's that coming from?
-
Brother Jim: All righty.
-
Brother Jim: He isn't the best color
-
Brother Jim: commentator in the business for
-
Brother Jim: nothing.
-
David: Folks, I've said before, I'm the
-
David: best color commentator in this
-
David: room.
-
Brother Jim: Yes, and that says a lot right there.
-
Brother Jim: Yes.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, big plans for the weekend, my friend.
-
David: Not this weekend.
-
David: However, next weekend we're
-
David: going to Monster Jam in
-
David: Pittsburgh.
-
David: Gonna go check out the monster trucks again.
-
David: We did it last year, and it was.
-
David: It was nice.
-
David: It was fun.
-
David: It was filthy.
-
David: Um, I think I might have said
-
David: previously that I underestimated
-
David: how dirty you would actually get
-
David: at those things, but the kids
-
David: love it.
-
David: So we're gonna go, we're gonna go over to the that city across
-
David: the river there.
-
Brother Jim: Oh, come on.
-
Brother Jim: Pittsburgh.
-
David: And, you know, driving in Pittsburgh is just awful because
-
David: everything is one way.
-
David: You come out of the tunnel and
-
David: it's like, go forty five
-
David: different directions
-
David: immediately.
-
Brother Jim: Pandemonium's running wild chaos trying to get in the right lane.
-
Brother Jim: And I have found David.
-
Brother Jim: When you use your GPS, even she can't keep up with what exits we
-
Brother Jim: were going to the zoo.
-
Brother Jim: Yep.
-
Brother Jim: And oh my goodness, let's just
-
Brother Jim: say the hands were like death
-
Brother Jim: grip.
-
Brother Jim: And it's like, everybody be
-
Brother Jim: quiet so I can listen to the
-
Brother Jim: lady talking.
-
Brother Jim: Oh, I just once it'd be nice to
-
Brother Jim: go through Pittsburgh with
-
Brother Jim: somebody else driving that you
-
Brother Jim: trust.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: So you could actually see because it is cool when you come
-
Brother Jim: through the tunnel, the stadium, three rivers and all that.
-
Brother Jim: But I never get to see it because I'm so, uh, you know.
-
David: Yep.
-
Brother Jim: And the bridges.
-
David: There's a lot of them.
-
Brother Jim: When we were leaving, we got stuck on a bridge.
-
Brother Jim: No, brother Jim does not do well on bridges.
-
Brother Jim: And it was one of them steel like wire mesh bridges.
-
Brother Jim: And you could just feel everything shaking.
-
David: At least one of those is double stacked, too.
-
David: Like there's traffic above and there's traffic below that.
-
David: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah. How about you folks scared of bridges?
-
Brother Jim: Do you like to go to Pittsburgh?
-
Brother Jim: Maybe you can find a good restaurant over there.
-
David: Oh, I always hit up remaining brothers when I'm over there.
-
David: Ah, yes.
-
Brother Jim: Okay. That's the one down by, uh.
-
David: They got.
-
David: They've got several of them.
-
David: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Yes. We stopped there on, I
-
Brother Jim: think I still got my card, my
-
Brother Jim: rewards card.
-
David: Hey, there you go.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah. So, uh, that sounds.
-
Brother Jim: I've never been to one.
-
Brother Jim: My grandson, Dawson, he's into it big time.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, he's got to go to one, and he just loved it.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Toro.
-
Brother Jim: He got a little.
-
Brother Jim: It's called Toro.
-
Brother Jim: It's pretty cool.
-
Brother Jim: Mhm.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, one of the big monster trucks.
-
Brother Jim: And I like the lady that, uh, s p sponsors.
-
Brother Jim: I can't think of her name, but s t p, you know.
-
Brother Jim: Oh, my goodness.
-
Brother Jim: And she is good.
-
David: They've got two or three women
-
David: drivers in the in the monster
-
David: jam.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah. And it shows her at home this little video of her.
-
Brother Jim: I mean she's got a sweet ride truck.
-
Brother Jim: Old school, old school, you know, box style.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Man, I am envious.
-
Brother Jim: I gotta admit it.
-
Brother Jim: I'm not, you know, the monster truck.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, whatever.
-
Brother Jim: But that old truck.
-
Brother Jim: I don't know if it's a Chevy or
-
Brother Jim: a Ford, but oh my goodness, it
-
Brother Jim: is sweet.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, but how about you guys?
-
Brother Jim: What you got going on?
-
Brother Jim: I mean, the Fourth of July is
-
Brother Jim: going to be here before we know
-
Brother Jim: it.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, trying to get everything
-
Brother Jim: finished up and, uh, it is
-
Brother Jim: crazy.
-
Brother Jim: Just time.
-
Brother Jim: Time.
-
Brother Jim: It just.
-
Brother Jim: There's never enough time, David.
-
David: No, it really isn't.
-
Brother Jim: Still haven't got all my mulch done, you know.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, just, uh, went and got everything for the garden.
-
Brother Jim: And of course, you know, I've
-
Brother Jim: got this old Massey tractor, had
-
Brother Jim: it rebuilt, reliable as they
-
Brother Jim: come.
-
Brother Jim: Pulled it out of the barn, had it stored.
-
Brother Jim: Winter, of course, got a new battery.
-
Brother Jim: She started right up going good.
-
Brother Jim: And all of a sudden I think the clutch is going out.
-
Brother Jim: It's like, but I will say this.
-
Brother Jim: I had to run out and get my father in law's tractor and I've
-
Brother Jim: got a big well, it's not a big tiller, but a tiller for the
-
Brother Jim: back of the tractor.
-
Brother Jim: There's nothing like the smell
-
Brother Jim: of freshly tilled dirt, you know
-
Brother Jim: that?
-
Brother Jim: Just one of them amazing smells.
-
Brother Jim: So, uh.
-
Brother Jim: But yeah.
-
Brother Jim: What's your big plans for the weekend?
-
Brother Jim: Let us know.
-
Brother Jim: Peg?
-
Brother Jim: Abraham, what's going on?
-
Brother Jim: We sure do miss you.
-
Brother Jim: Hope to see you soon.
-
Brother Jim: But, uh, what you got going on, Peg?
-
Brother Jim: You know, let us know.
-
Brother Jim: Hopefully, we got some viewers listening in from other parts of
-
Brother Jim: the out of our country from around the world.
-
Brother Jim: And we know we do.
-
Brother Jim: Let us know.
-
Brother Jim: Please don't let that stop you from letting us know.
-
Brother Jim: I would love David to have
-
Brother Jim: someone from another country,
-
Brother Jim: another area.
-
Brother Jim: Let us know what it's like over there.
-
David: That'd be cool.
-
Brother Jim: Under there.
-
Brother Jim: Up there, I don't care.
-
Brother Jim: Just let us know.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, so again, you know, get a little rest, hopefully a little
-
Brother Jim: family time, graduation parties out the yin yang.
-
Brother Jim: I gotta say, David, I went to one the other day and they had I
-
Brother Jim: think we've joked about it.
-
Brother Jim: Everybody has pulled pork.
-
Brother Jim: I don't care if I eat another pulled pork sandwich in my life,
-
Brother Jim: but they had chicken breast smoked was amazing.
-
David: Sounds good.
-
Brother Jim: They had these sausages.
-
Brother Jim: I mean, David, they were big sausages filled with cheese.
-
Brother Jim: That's nice.
-
David: That sounds really good.
-
Brother Jim: And then they had like, pulled, pulled chicken, which was good.
-
David: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: And then of course they had
-
Brother Jim: pulled pork, which I. But I tell
-
Brother Jim: you I was wishing I went back on
-
Brother Jim: that.
-
Brother Jim: I mean nice grilled chicken smoked.
-
David: Oh it sounds really good.
-
David: It was making me hungry.
-
Brother Jim: And they had kiwi.
-
Brother Jim: You like kiwi the fruit I.
-
David: It's been a long time since I've had it.
-
David: I think it's okay.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, there's a lot of work to it.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: It's like crab legs, you know.
-
Brother Jim: But, boy, it was good.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, yeah.
-
Brother Jim: And believe it or not, it was all protein and or fruits, so I
-
Brother Jim: didn't feel too bad.
-
Brother Jim: So. Yeah, but, uh, maybe a little sleeping in this weekend.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, but you know what?
-
Brother Jim: Hey, don't live for the weekend.
-
Brother Jim: My friends, each day is a blessing, you know?
-
Brother Jim: And whatever it is, we hope it's filled with peace, laughter, and
-
Brother Jim: a little bit of joy.
-
Brother Jim: How about a whole lot of joy?
-
Brother Jim: Because weekends again may come and weekends will go.
-
Brother Jim: But God's goodness does not take a day off now.
-
Brother Jim: This past Sunday I talked about this to guess who else doesn't
-
Brother Jim: take a day off.
-
Brother Jim: Satan.
-
Brother Jim: Satan does not take a day off as well.
-
Brother Jim: Think about that because that is the truth.
-
Brother Jim: So again, as I said in our Sunday morning message, you
-
Brother Jim: serve, you can either serve one out of two kingdoms.
-
Brother Jim: You can either serve God's
-
Brother Jim: kingdom or you can serve Satan's
-
Brother Jim: kingdom slash the world slash
-
Brother Jim: your own.
-
Brother Jim: Ooh, yes.
-
Brother Jim: So which one are you serving?
-
Brother Jim: Alrighty then.
-
Brother Jim: A week has almost come to an end.
-
Brother Jim: Friends, let me ask you this morning.
-
Brother Jim: What have you done to make this
-
Brother Jim: week to make a difference in
-
Brother Jim: God's kingdom?
-
Brother Jim: Not not just what you
-
Brother Jim: accomplished, not just what you
-
Brother Jim: survive, but how did you shine
-
Brother Jim: for Jesus in the middle of all
-
Brother Jim: this?
-
Brother Jim: Kind of like that old song, This little Light of mine.
-
Brother Jim: I'm going to let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
-
Brother Jim: The weekend is almost here.
-
Brother Jim: So go ahead, take a breath, stretch those shoulders.
-
Brother Jim: Maybe even crack a smile.
-
Brother Jim: Come on, crack a smile with me.
-
Brother Jim: Let's go, let's go.
-
Brother Jim: That you've been hiding since Monday.
-
Brother Jim: Because now it is time to saddle up and hit that weekend trail.
-
Brother Jim: New weekend trail.
-
Brother Jim: Let me get the hat on here.
-
Brother Jim: Woo hoo!
-
Brother Jim: Yeah!
-
Brother Jim: Feeling like a cowboy with old Toby Keith saying.
-
Brother Jim: Should have been a cowboy.
-
Brother Jim: Yes.
-
Brother Jim: Hit that brand new weekend trail together.
-
Brother Jim: So listen up.
-
Brother Jim: I know you might be a little tired, a little worn down, maybe
-
Brother Jim: even a little.
-
Brother Jim: I just need five minutes or a silence and a snack, and I.
-
Brother Jim: Trust me, I get that.
-
Brother Jim: And you know, David, the funny thing I found I'm snacking on.
-
David: What's that?
-
Brother Jim: There's applesauce packets.
-
David: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: My grandson and I, we have this
-
Brother Jim: thing that's part of our
-
Brother Jim: routine.
-
Brother Jim: I'm hooked on them things.
-
Brother Jim: And you go to oldies and get all kinds of varieties applesauce,
-
Brother Jim: uh, blueberries, bananas, you know, all that.
-
Brother Jim: And man two of them.
-
Brother Jim: And I am a happy man.
-
David: So so what I'm hearing is you're doing the same thing I'm doing
-
David: and you're eating his snacks.
-
David: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Let's be honest.
-
Brother Jim: That's just the preparation for the snack.
-
Brother Jim: You know, five minutes later, I'm like, I had applesauce.
-
Brother Jim: Doesn't fill me up.
-
Brother Jim: What do we got?
-
Brother Jim: Uh, but come on, come on, come on.
-
Brother Jim: You can do this.
-
Brother Jim: You are almost there.
-
Brother Jim: God has carried you.
-
Brother Jim: He's lifted you.
-
Brother Jim: He might have even drug you through the week.
-
Brother Jim: And he is not done with you yet.
-
Brother Jim: Not by a long shot.
-
Brother Jim: So step into the weekend with faith.
-
Brother Jim: Step into it with joy.
-
Brother Jim: Step into it knowing that God still has purpose for you even
-
Brother Jim: on your days off.
-
Brother Jim: Now, a couple had been married
-
Brother Jim: for forty years and also
-
Brother Jim: celebrated their sixtieth
-
Brother Jim: birthdays.
-
Brother Jim: During the celebration, a fairy godmother appeared and said that
-
Brother Jim: because they had been such a loving couple all those years,
-
Brother Jim: she would give them one.
-
Brother Jim: Yes, one wish.
-
Brother Jim: Each being the faithful, loving spouse for all these years.
-
Brother Jim: Naturally, the wife wanted for her husband and her husband to
-
Brother Jim: have a romantic vocation together, so she wished for them
-
Brother Jim: to travel around the world.
-
Brother Jim: Pretty nice, isn't it?
-
Brother Jim: The fairy godmother waved her wand and boom, bada bing!
-
Brother Jim: She had the tickets in her hand.
-
Brother Jim: Now it was the husband's turn,
-
Brother Jim: and the fairy godmother assured
-
Brother Jim: him he could have any wish he
-
Brother Jim: wanted.
-
Brother Jim: All he needed to do was ask for his heart's desire.
-
Brother Jim: Oh, boy.
-
Brother Jim: He paused for a moment, then said, well, honestly, I'd like
-
Brother Jim: to have a woman thirty years younger than me.
-
Brother Jim: The fairy godmother picked up her wand and bought a boom.
-
Brother Jim: Bada bing!
-
Brother Jim: He was ninety.
-
Brother Jim: Be careful what you wish for.
-
Brother Jim: What would be your one wish, David?
-
Brother Jim: Putting you on the spot.
-
David: My one wish would be for unlimited wishes.
-
Brother Jim: See, I always play that card too.
-
David: I don't know if you're allowed
-
David: or not, but yeah, I would try
-
David: it.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah. And there would be a lot of good in that.
-
Brother Jim: There would be a lot of good.
-
David: Now, if I couldn't do that one, probably unlimited health maybe.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah. If I was being selfish, it
-
Brother Jim: would be just a week on the
-
Brother Jim: beach, man.
-
Brother Jim: No phone, no nothing.
-
Brother Jim: Just sitting there watching.
-
Brother Jim: Perfect weather, the breeze coming up.
-
Brother Jim: You know, that would be that
-
Brother Jim: would be one wish, you know, or
-
Brother Jim: to be younger, you know, go to
-
Brother Jim: Alaska, check out some grizzly
-
Brother Jim: bears.
-
Brother Jim: Polar bears, you know.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Look for Bigfoot.
-
Brother Jim: Very disappointed.
-
Brother Jim: David.
-
Brother Jim: I did not know this, but a lady,
-
Brother Jim: a good friend from our church,
-
Brother Jim: she went down to the Bigfoot
-
Brother Jim: festival.
-
Brother Jim: I didn't know it was going on.
-
Brother Jim: Oh, yeah.
-
Brother Jim: So I told her.
-
Brother Jim: I said, oh, if I would have known, I would have went down.
-
Brother Jim: I got all the things for it.
-
Brother Jim: Yes.
-
Brother Jim: So, uh, yeah, but today's
-
Brother Jim: thought anyway, what would you
-
Brother Jim: wish for?
-
Brother Jim: Let us know.
-
Brother Jim: We'd love to hear that.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, today's thought, the doctrine of the Kingdom of
-
Brother Jim: Heaven, which was the main teaching of Jesus, is certainly
-
Brother Jim: one of the most revolutionary doctrines that ever stirred and
-
Brother Jim: changed human thought.
-
Brother Jim: H g Wells.
-
Brother Jim: Now, we've, uh, had this little discussion on hell, and now
-
Brother Jim: we're into heaven.
-
Brother Jim: Now, of course, this past Tuesday we had Miss Buffy from T
-
Brother Jim: four C here.
-
Brother Jim: So that kind of got away, but felt that was a good thing to
-
Brother Jim: get out to help us start, uh, learning about the organizations
-
Brother Jim: that are out there to help.
-
Brother Jim: But let's get back to it, shall we?
-
Brother Jim: Our opening scripture, John fourteen one two three let not
-
Brother Jim: your heart be troubled.
-
Brother Jim: You believe in God.
-
Brother Jim: Believe in me.
-
Brother Jim: Also in my father's house are many, many mansions.
-
Brother Jim: I go to prepare a place for you.
-
Brother Jim: And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and
-
Brother Jim: receive you to myself.
-
Brother Jim: That where I am, there you may be also.
-
Brother Jim: Now again, if I were to ask ten people, what is heaven?
-
Brother Jim: We're going to probably get ten
-
Brother Jim: different responses, right,
-
Brother Jim: David?
-
Brother Jim: I'm sure you and I, we share a
-
Brother Jim: lot of the same ideas, but also
-
Brother Jim: we put our own little spin on it
-
Brother Jim: too.
-
Brother Jim: Sure.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Some imagined clouds and harps are, you know, everybody with
-
Brother Jim: little wings flying around.
-
Brother Jim: I think of Bugs Bunny with that, you know.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, that's just instilled in my mind.
-
Brother Jim: Other pictures.
-
Brother Jim: Other picture.
-
Brother Jim: Others pictured, loved ones reunited, which is great.
-
Brother Jim: Some think of endless joy.
-
Brother Jim: Peace.
-
Brother Jim: But what does the Bible say?
-
Brother Jim: Heaven is not merely a place.
-
Brother Jim: Heaven is the dwelling place of God.
-
Brother Jim: It is the eternal home prepared by Jesus Christ for all who.
-
Brother Jim: Here's the big one who belong to him.
-
Brother Jim: Now that's the catch.
-
Brother Jim: Because Satan in the world, which we know.
-
Brother Jim: Satan loves to tell lies.
-
Brother Jim: He loves to.
-
Brother Jim: He's a trickster.
-
Brother Jim: Trick us into believing.
-
Brother Jim: Oh, I believe in God.
-
Brother Jim: I go to church, I do this, I do that.
-
Brother Jim: We've talked about that.
-
Brother Jim: There's more to it than this.
-
Brother Jim: Do you truly, truly belong to him?
-
Brother Jim: As I asked last week, do you
-
Brother Jim: love Jesus or are you in love
-
Brother Jim: with Jesus?
-
Brother Jim: Heaven is a place where sin,
-
Brother Jim: sorrow, death, and pain are
-
Brother Jim: forever gone.
-
Brother Jim: Gone.
-
Brother Jim: Amen to that.
-
Brother Jim: No more sorrow, death, pain, anger, frustration.
-
Brother Jim: And here's the biggest thing for me, David.
-
Brother Jim: No more temptations.
-
Brother Jim: No more trying.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, trying to be faithful.
-
Brother Jim: It's done.
-
Brother Jim: It's over with.
-
David: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: The truth is that every person
-
Brother Jim: spends time preparing for
-
Brother Jim: retirement, true careers, true
-
Brother Jim: and vacations.
-
Brother Jim: But very few spend time preparing for eternity.
-
Brother Jim: Yet heaven is the destination
-
Brother Jim: should be that every believer
-
Brother Jim: longs for.
-
Brother Jim: Heaven is a real place.
-
Brother Jim: Jesus spoke of heaven as a real place in John fourteen.
-
Brother Jim: He did not say, I'm going to prepare an idea for you.
-
Brother Jim: He said, I go to prepare a place for you.
-
Brother Jim: Heaven is not imaginary.
-
Brother Jim: It's not symbolic.
-
Brother Jim: It is a real destination
-
Brother Jim: prepared by a real Savior for
-
Brother Jim: his real people, his real
-
Brother Jim: believers.
-
Brother Jim: When Jesus ascended into heaven, he.
-
Brother Jim: He went somewhere.
-
Brother Jim: And one day those who trust him will join him there.
-
Brother Jim: The Christian's hope is not wishful thinking.
-
Brother Jim: It is a promise from God Himself.
-
Brother Jim: Now think of this.
-
Brother Jim: A child once asked his grandmother, how do you know
-
Brother Jim: heaven is real?
-
Brother Jim: The grandma replied, because Jesus came from there, spoke
-
Brother Jim: about it, returned there, and promised to take me there.
-
Brother Jim: Now, do you believe that simple explanation, that faith.
-
Brother Jim: Faith built upon the words of Christ?
-
Brother Jim: Think about that.
-
Brother Jim: Do you build your foundation upon the words of Jesus?
-
Brother Jim: Heaven is where God dwells.
-
Brother Jim: The greatest thing about heaven is not the streets of gold.
-
Brother Jim: The greatest thing about heaven is, quite simply, God.
-
Brother Jim: Revelations twenty one three
-
Brother Jim: tells us, behold, the tabernacle
-
Brother Jim: of God is with men, and he will
-
Brother Jim: dwell.
-
Brother Jim: Dwell with them.
-
Brother Jim: Many people talk about seeing loved ones in heaven, and that
-
Brother Jim: reunion will be wonderful.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, it's going to be cool seeing true David.
-
Brother Jim: Our loved ones can't deny that.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: But the greatest joy will be seeing the Lord face to face.
-
Brother Jim: And I just said at his abilities we were talking about we were
-
Brother Jim: talking about death.
-
Brother Jim: And that was pretty heavy for those folks.
-
Brother Jim: But you know what I said, one of
-
Brother Jim: the biggest things I want to do,
-
Brother Jim: one of the first thing is when I
-
Brother Jim: see Jesus, I just want to run
-
Brother Jim: because I know I'll be able to
-
Brother Jim: run and jump right into his arms
-
Brother Jim: and just get the biggest hug
-
Brother Jim: imaginable.
-
Brother Jim: Yes, that is what I picture.
-
Brother Jim: Face to face with Jesus the Lord.
-
Brother Jim: Imagine.
-
Brother Jim: Never no more struggling with doubt again.
-
Brother Jim: Never wondering where God is.
-
Brother Jim: Never feeling distance from him
-
Brother Jim: in heaven will be in his
-
Brother Jim: presence forever.
-
Brother Jim: Isn't that great?
-
Brother Jim: The psalmist wrote, in your presence is fullness of joy.
-
Brother Jim: Psalms sixteen eleven.
-
Brother Jim: The joy of heaven comes from being with the one who created
-
Brother Jim: us and redeemed us.
-
Brother Jim: Heaven is free.
-
Brother Jim: Hear me on this, my friends.
-
Brother Jim: Heaven is free from sin and suffering.
-
Brother Jim: One reason earth is often
-
Brother Jim: difficult because sin has
-
Brother Jim: touched everything.
-
Brother Jim: Like David said about going to
-
Brother Jim: the monster truck show dirt
-
Brother Jim: everywhere.
-
Brother Jim: You can't avoid it, right?
-
David: That's right.
-
Brother Jim: The same with sin.
-
Brother Jim: Anywhere you turn, anything you listen to, anything you watch.
-
Brother Jim: Sin is pretty much associated with that.
-
Brother Jim: It's dirt.
-
Brother Jim: It's everywhere, kind of like
-
Brother Jim: dust and amazing how you can
-
Brother Jim: dust.
-
Brother Jim: And the next day, there it is again.
-
Brother Jim: We experience on this earth.
-
Brother Jim: We experience sickness, we experience grief, we experience
-
Brother Jim: disappointment, we experience death, we experience anger.
-
Brother Jim: We experience all these human emotions.
-
Brother Jim: But heaven is different.
-
Brother Jim: It will be different.
-
Brother Jim: Revelation twenty one four And God will wipe away every tear
-
Brother Jim: from their eyes.
-
Brother Jim: There shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying.
-
Brother Jim: And here we go.
-
Brother Jim: They'll shall be no more pain.
-
Brother Jim: Think about that.
-
Brother Jim: No more hospitals, no more co-pays.
-
Brother Jim: No more dealing with making
-
Brother Jim: appointments for the doctor's
-
Brother Jim: office, getting them cancelled,
-
Brother Jim: waiting, dealing with insurance
-
Brother Jim: reps.
-
Brother Jim: No more funerals.
-
Brother Jim: Yes.
-
Brother Jim: No more funerals.
-
Brother Jim: No more broken hearts.
-
Brother Jim: No more fear.
-
Brother Jim: No anxiety.
-
Brother Jim: No more goodbyes.
-
Brother Jim: Everything that sin brought into
-
Brother Jim: the world will be removed
-
Brother Jim: forever.
-
Brother Jim: Life is like traveling through a storm.
-
Brother Jim: Heaven is arriving safely at home.
-
Brother Jim: When the storm can never reach you again.
-
Brother Jim: Think about that.
-
Brother Jim: Heaven is a place of joy and worship.
-
Brother Jim: Many people wonder what believers will do in heaven.
-
Brother Jim: The Bible describes joyful
-
Brother Jim: worship, service, fellowship,
-
Brother Jim: and praise.
-
Brother Jim: Far from being bored.
-
Brother Jim: Think about that one.
-
Brother Jim: How many people say heaven's just going to be boring?
-
Brother Jim: Not true my friends.
-
Brother Jim: Heaven will be the most
-
Brother Jim: fulfilling experience
-
Brother Jim: imaginable.
-
Brother Jim: Now revelation seven nine to ten
-
Brother Jim: describes a multitude from every
-
Brother Jim: nation.
-
Brother Jim: Can you imagine that every nation today, David, with all
-
Brother Jim: the war, with all the chaos, all the murders, the killing, every
-
Brother Jim: nation will be there praising God before his throne?
-
Brother Jim: Wouldn't that be something to see?
-
David: That sounds amazing.
-
Brother Jim: We can't even get a group of
-
Brother Jim: school board members together
-
Brother Jim: without somebody causing a fight
-
Brother Jim: or a stink, let alone even David
-
Brother Jim: said, oh, I gotta go to that
-
Brother Jim: city.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, Pittsburgh.
-
Brother Jim: Uh huh.
-
Brother Jim: Uh huh.
-
Brother Jim: I'm gonna have to wear a Steeler shirt or something.
-
Brother Jim: I don't own one, but I'll get one.
-
Brother Jim: Doing nothing but praising God before his throne in heaven.
-
Brother Jim: There will be no more division.
-
Brother Jim: Wow.
-
Brother Jim: No more hatred.
-
Brother Jim: Wow.
-
Brother Jim: And no more conflict.
-
Brother Jim: Double big wow.
-
Brother Jim: People from every tribe,
-
Brother Jim: language and nation will worship
-
Brother Jim: together as one family redeemed
-
Brother Jim: by Christ.
-
Brother Jim: Again.
-
Brother Jim: You think if we tried that today on earth, David.
-
Brother Jim: So number one, the planning committees involved.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, it would be have to be probably twenty years out before
-
Brother Jim: that would actually happen.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: And by then what has happened then?
-
Brother Jim: You know it.
-
Brother Jim: Just remember that song We Are the World.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, which was cool.
-
David: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: But still, look at our world today.
-
Brother Jim: I mean, good golly again.
-
Brother Jim: We fight over everything.
-
David: You're so divided.
-
Brother Jim: We are so divided.
-
Brother Jim: But in heaven we will not be divided.
-
Brother Jim: We will be redeemed by Christ.
-
Brother Jim: Our worship on earth is only a
-
Brother Jim: glimpse of what it is, of what's
-
Brother Jim: to come.
-
Brother Jim: Heaven is the believer's true home.
-
Brother Jim: The Bible teaches that Christians are pilgrims and
-
Brother Jim: strangers in this world.
-
Brother Jim: The earth is not our final destination.
-
Brother Jim: In Philippians three twenty, for our citizenship is in heaven.
-
Brother Jim: We enjoy God's blessings here,
-
Brother Jim: but our permanent home is with
-
Brother Jim: him.
-
Brother Jim: And there's something inside every believer.
-
Brother Jim: It should be at least, that longs for more because we were
-
Brother Jim: created for eternity.
-
Brother Jim: The reason nothing in this world fully satisfies is because we
-
Brother Jim: are made for another world.
-
Brother Jim: So kind of like Chinese food.
-
Brother Jim: You eat it, you're full.
-
Brother Jim: Oh, and then an hour later, we got to eat.
-
David: That's right. True. Yeah. It is.
-
David: Yes.
-
Brother Jim: Are we ever satisfied with the money?
-
Brother Jim: We could always use a little more money.
-
David: Sure.
-
Brother Jim: Time could always use a little more time.
-
David: Absolutely.
-
Brother Jim: Good looks.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, well, I'll let you guys respond on that one.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, man, my hat is really crooked today.
-
David: It's a little out of shape.
-
David: I'm not sure what happened to it.
-
Brother Jim: It's on backwards.
-
Brother Jim: There we go.
-
David: That'll do it.
-
Brother Jim: Hey, maybe a little bit more common sense.
-
Brother Jim: How about that one?
-
Brother Jim: Wow, folks.
-
Brother Jim: Thanks, David.
-
Brother Jim: Let me go through most of the
-
Brother Jim: broadcast with my hat on
-
Brother Jim: backwards, looking like a stumpy
-
Brother Jim: or something.
-
David: In my defense, I don't own a cowboy hat.
-
David: Therefore, I didn't know it was okay.
-
Brother Jim: All right.
-
Brother Jim: He's got his face covered because I'm thinking, man, I
-
Brother Jim: look like I just come out of the drunk or the drunk tank in a
-
Brother Jim: saloon back in the day.
-
Brother Jim: Geez.
-
Brother Jim: All righty.
-
Brother Jim: All right.
-
Brother Jim: See you in heaven.
-
Brother Jim: Two.
-
Brother Jim: We'll have our hats on square.
-
Brother Jim: That's right.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: There we go.
-
Brother Jim: For guys like me.
-
Brother Jim: Oh, boy.
-
Brother Jim: Uh, as believers, we should.
-
Brother Jim: We should live with heaven in view.
-
Brother Jim: When trials come.
-
Brother Jim: Remember heaven when grief comes.
-
Brother Jim: Remember heaven.
-
Brother Jim: When persecution comes.
-
Brother Jim: Remember heaven.
-
Brother Jim: And folks, we haven't seen
-
Brother Jim: persecution yet, but I truly
-
Brother Jim: believe.
-
Brother Jim: David, it will come.
-
Brother Jim: We will see it.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: As believers in Christ here in our own country, I'm sorry.
-
Brother Jim: Just my opinion.
-
Brother Jim: Take with that what you want.
-
Brother Jim: But I do believe there will be a time.
-
Brother Jim: Because if you look around our world today, you're seeing it
-
Brother Jim: more and more and more.
-
Brother Jim: And once we get a taste of it,
-
Brother Jim: it's like a rabid dog that gets
-
Brother Jim: a taste of blood or a wild
-
Brother Jim: animal.
-
Brother Jim: They want more.
-
Brother Jim: They want more.
-
Brother Jim: Think of all the madness that comes throughout mankind's
-
Brother Jim: history of, uh, just the craziness, the mob mentality.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: All it takes is one.
-
Brother Jim: Then we want another and then becomes Bloodfest.
-
Brother Jim: There's a thirst.
-
Brother Jim: And trust me, Satan is good at stirring the pot.
-
Brother Jim: But the best is yet to come.
-
Brother Jim: So who will be in heaven?
-
Brother Jim: This is perhaps the most important question.
-
Brother Jim: Many people assume everyone goes to heaven.
-
Brother Jim: Big lie.
-
Brother Jim: Big lie.
-
Brother Jim: Big lie.
-
Brother Jim: But Jesus taught.
-
Brother Jim: Otherwise, heaven is not earned.
-
Brother Jim: Oh, did you hear that, David?
-
Brother Jim: For all your good works, heaven is not earned.
-
Brother Jim: Imagine that.
-
Brother Jim: Did you hear that, Miss Ida?
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: You can't earn it.
-
Brother Jim: No matter.
-
Brother Jim: No matter how good of a pig you are.
-
Brother Jim: You can't earn it through your good works.
-
Brother Jim: No one enters heaven because they are good enough.
-
Brother Jim: David, are you good enough?
-
David: No.
-
Brother Jim: I mean, I think you're good enough, but what's God think?
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: We're going to fail.
-
Brother Jim: We're never going to be good enough.
-
Brother Jim: We enter heaven.
-
Brother Jim: We enter heaven through faith in
-
Brother Jim: Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ
-
Brother Jim: alone.
-
Brother Jim: Again, one of my favorite verses, John fourteen six.
-
Brother Jim: I am the way, the truth, and the life.
-
Brother Jim: No one comes to the father except through me.
-
Brother Jim: Salvation is God's gift to mankind.
-
Brother Jim: Those who repent of sin and trust in Christ receive eternal
-
Brother Jim: life and the promise of heaven.
-
Brother Jim: But hey, if you don't, if you don't accept that, I'm going to
-
Brother Jim: put it in Jim's words.
-
Brother Jim: That's cool too.
-
Brother Jim: God isn't forcing you to love you, but you will be accountable
-
Brother Jim: for your choice.
-
Brother Jim: Do you understand that, my friends?
-
Brother Jim: You can live an ungodly life?
-
Brother Jim: That's your call.
-
Brother Jim: God loves you enough.
-
Brother Jim: Hey, David.
-
Brother Jim: Jim, if you want to be a bunch of heathens, or if you want to
-
Brother Jim: be good people, that's cool.
-
Brother Jim: But again, at the end of the day, you will answer just like
-
Brother Jim: me, just like David, we will answer for our decisions.
-
Brother Jim: And again, David, do you know when you're going to pass?
-
David: No, sure.
-
Brother Jim: Don't, I don't know, today could be the day.
-
Brother Jim: Now again, I embrace it.
-
Brother Jim: And when I say that I still
-
Brother Jim: there is a lot of work to be
-
Brother Jim: done.
-
Brother Jim: But how many of us truly fear death?
-
Brother Jim: Because I know where I'm going at the end of the day.
-
Brother Jim: I know because of the faith, the
-
Brother Jim: trust I have in Christ other
-
Brother Jim: than.
-
Brother Jim: And I'm just being real.
-
Brother Jim: David.
-
Brother Jim: Other than the impact on my family, the worry of who will
-
Brother Jim: take care of them.
-
Brother Jim: Let's be honest, as fathers, as husbands, protectors, providers.
-
Brother Jim: That's my only concern.
-
Brother Jim: Sure.
-
Brother Jim: But again, faith, God will take care of it.
-
Brother Jim: But I think that's in our human nature, is it not?
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: You know, we we have that in our DNA.
-
Brother Jim: But again, Dave, is there anything holding you back?
-
Brother Jim: I mean, what's this world really offering you?
-
David: I mean, other than wanting to see my kids grow up.
-
David: That's about it.
-
David: Let's remove the.
-
Brother Jim: Family part of it.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah. And the only other thing I'll add is being a shepherd and
-
Brother Jim: trying to spread the gospel.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Because, again, I know our work is not done and I want to be a
-
Brother Jim: part of that.
-
Brother Jim: And again, as I said Sunday
-
Brother Jim: morning, are you feeling
-
Brother Jim: dangerous?
-
Brother Jim: Couldn't help but think, oh, Baker Mayfield, my man.
-
Brother Jim: I woke up this morning feeling dangerous And again, as a
-
Brother Jim: Christian, are you feeling are you feeling dangerous?
-
Brother Jim: Because guess what?
-
Brother Jim: Who doesn't want you to be dangerous?
-
Brother Jim: Satan.
-
Brother Jim: That's right.
-
Brother Jim: He doesn't want you.
-
Brother Jim: He wants you to be quiet, complacent, comfortable.
-
Brother Jim: Oh, are you comfortable?
-
Brother Jim: People listening in.
-
Brother Jim: How comfortable, how complacent.
-
Brother Jim: How have you come?
-
Brother Jim: You want to challenge here?
-
Brother Jim: Why don't you go stick your head
-
Brother Jim: out the window and yell, I love
-
Brother Jim: Jesus!
-
Brother Jim: Do you?
-
Brother Jim: That ought to get the cops called an opportunity to witness
-
Brother Jim: to the police.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: No, I'm not nuts.
-
Brother Jim: I'm a believer.
-
Brother Jim: All right, so what is heaven?
-
Brother Jim: Heaven is a real place.
-
Brother Jim: Heaven is where God dwells.
-
Brother Jim: Heaven is free from sin, suffering and death.
-
Brother Jim: Heaven is filled with joy and worship.
-
Brother Jim: Heaven is is the believer's eternal home.
-
Brother Jim: Heaven is available through
-
Brother Jim: Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ
-
Brother Jim: alone.
-
Brother Jim: And one day every person will step into eternity.
-
Brother Jim: Ah, but for the believer, heaven is not merely a destination.
-
Brother Jim: It is the fulfillment of every promise God has made.
-
Brother Jim: As the old hymn says, this world is not my home.
-
Brother Jim: I'm just passing through it.
-
Brother Jim: And because of that, because of what Jesus, what Jesus did, we
-
Brother Jim: can look forward to the day when faith becomes sight.
-
Brother Jim: Hope becomes reality, and we hear the words, well done, good
-
Brother Jim: and faithful servant.
-
Brother Jim: Servant.
-
Brother Jim: Enter.
-
Brother Jim: Enter into the joy of your Lord.
-
Brother Jim: Now how does that sound, my friends?
-
Brother Jim: Do you want heaven or do you want the pleasures of the earth,
-
Brother Jim: the pleasures of the world?
-
Brother Jim: The choice is yours.
-
Brother Jim: But again I pray you choose wisely.
-
Brother Jim: We pray you choose wisely.
-
Brother Jim: And again, you can always go back and watch the episodes when
-
Brother Jim: we talk about hell.
-
Brother Jim: We got good news.
-
Brother Jim: The good news of salvation.
-
Brother Jim: To let other people know there's still time.
-
Brother Jim: But again, time is ticking.
-
Brother Jim: Well, my friends, that just about does it for this.
-
Brother Jim: Thursday, June fourth, twenty twenty six.
-
Brother Jim: Excuse me.
-
Brother Jim: June.
-
Brother Jim: Eleventh.
-
Brother Jim: My bad.
-
Brother Jim: June eleventh, twenty twenty six.
-
Brother Jim: Mister David, my friend, any
-
Brother Jim: closing thoughts comments on
-
Brother Jim: this segment?
-
David: No. Heaven sounds like a good place and I want to go there.
-
David: You know, a lot of people say, do you believe in heaven?
-
David: Yeah, I believe in heaven.
-
David: Do you believe in hell?
-
David: No I don't.
-
David: Well, yeah, I mean, if you believe in the Bible and you
-
David: believe in one, then you have to believe in the other.
-
David: If you believe in God, you have to believe in the devil.
-
David: If you believe in heaven, you have to believe in hell.
-
Brother Jim: And is that not a trick, a lie of Satan?
-
David: Absolutely.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah.
-
David: Yeah.
-
Brother Jim: Yeah, exactly.
-
Brother Jim: Exactly.
-
Brother Jim: I mean, he is the the trickster
-
Brother Jim: of tricksters, the father of
-
Brother Jim: lies.
-
Brother Jim: He is a manipulator.
-
Brother Jim: Is that a good word?
-
Brother Jim: David, a manipulator, loves to stir the pot to get in here and
-
Brother Jim: get you thinking.
-
Brother Jim: To all our friends listening this morning, please remember
-
Brother Jim: this before you go.
-
Brother Jim: You.
-
Brother Jim: Yes, you have meaning, you have value.
-
Brother Jim: And most of all, you are loved.
-
Brother Jim: Never forget that God created you with purpose and this world
-
Brother Jim: is better because you, my friend, are in it.
-
Brother Jim: May God continue to bless you, guide you, strengthen you, and
-
Brother Jim: walk beside you throughout every moment of each day.
-
Brother Jim: And especially, may you and I continue to thank our Lord above
-
Brother Jim: for the blessings we.
-
Brother Jim: Too often and yes, even Brother Jim take for granted every day.
-
Brother Jim: So wherever life takes you, keep
-
Brother Jim: smiling, keep believing, keep
-
Brother Jim: loving, and keep on trusting
-
Brother Jim: God.
-
Brother Jim: And remember this if we meet again, well then we will smile
-
Brother Jim: and rejoice together.
-
Brother Jim: And if not, then this parting was well made.
-
Brother Jim: Thank you for joining Dave and
-
Brother Jim: myself, along with the barnyard
-
Brother Jim: crew here on Bible bibs and
-
Brother Jim: prayers.
-
Brother Jim: Happy trails to you and to your family.
-
Brother Jim: Until next time.
-
Brother Jim: This is the big guy, Brother Jim.
-
Brother Jim: Out.
