David: It's good.

David: You know, a lot of people don't

David: think that the grass is wet in

Brother Jim: Uh, I tell you what, he is just busting my gut right now.

Brother Jim: What did you do for the fourth?

David: We had a cookout at my in-laws house on the fourth.

David: And, you know, we.

David: I can't do much with the whole fireworks thing being as how I

David: live in town and also on a state route, uh, you know, kind of

David: high profile there.

David: However, at my in-laws house,

David: two houses down the block, they

David: were lighting off fireworks and

David: they were lighting off decent

David: ones.

David: Not the little I mean, they had

David: some big boomers, so I got a

David: decent show, didn't have to pay

David: for it or really even go

David: anywhere.

David: So.

David: Well.

Brother Jim: I got a plan.

Brother Jim: I got an idea.

David: Okay.

Brother Jim: If it's possible to set you up in our backfield.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Here's the story, folks.

Brother Jim: Brother Jim loves fireworks.

Brother Jim: It is one of my obsessions.

Brother Jim: Yep.

Brother Jim: And over the years, I always go

Brother Jim: up and I buy, buy, buy, and then

Brother Jim: I never get a chance to let off

Brother Jim: the fireworks.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: So my daughter Mikayla and her

Brother Jim: husband Chandler, the mother and

Brother Jim: father of our beautiful

Brother Jim: grandchildren, said, hey, dad,

Brother Jim: we're having a get together down

Brother Jim: in Dayton.

Brother Jim: Now they live in a small area, too.

Brother Jim: Mhm.

Brother Jim: Could you bring some fireworks?

Brother Jim: Now, if anybody knows me, I'm

Brother Jim: kind of like the Clark Griswold

Brother Jim: of fireworks.

Brother Jim: So we go down to the barn.

Brother Jim: Not one, not two, not three,

Brother Jim: not, but four totes of

Brother Jim: fireworks.

Brother Jim: And there might be more down there.

Brother Jim: So we load them up in a truck.

Brother Jim: I pull in and it's like, oh, boy.

Brother Jim: And then she drops the bombshell.

Brother Jim: Well, dad, we only want the pretty ones for the kids.

Brother Jim: Who wants pretty little flowers?

Brother Jim: You know those ones that.

David: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Almost cried.

Brother Jim: You know, it's like me running down and seeing the big

Brother Jim: Christmas present all wrapped up and you can't have it.

David: Yeah.

Brother Jim: You gotta wait.

Brother Jim: So anyway, we go down, David,

Brother Jim: and we start setting up and I

Brother Jim: had some helpers made up three

Brother Jim: stages, you know, keeping

Brother Jim: everything safe.

Brother Jim: And we had this line of little kids up on the hill.

Brother Jim: So we start off with the little funny who who cares, you know?

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Well, then I slipped in one and had a little bang to it.

Brother Jim: Not bad, these little ones.

Brother Jim: Woo!

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: And then I heard, and I'm like, okay.

Brother Jim: Then we went a little bigger and

Brother Jim: it got me when my grandson goes,

Brother Jim: yay, Padre.

Brother Jim: It's what he calls me.

Brother Jim: I'm like, okay, game on.

Brother Jim: Until finally my daughter said, that's enough, dad.

Brother Jim: I'm like, come on, man.

David: Kids faces are singed black and.

Brother Jim: Well, the funny thing is, you

Brother Jim: know, there's a bunch of people

Brother Jim: up there, Jim, which I know that

Brother Jim: voice.

Brother Jim: My wife.

Brother Jim: You're too close.

Brother Jim: I came up with a good explanation afterwards that I

Brother Jim: was there for protection in case one started to go wild.

Brother Jim: I could kick it or jump my, you know, throw my body on it.

Brother Jim: The truth was, I just couldn't run anymore.

Brother Jim: So I said I'd rather get burned up than have to keep running.

David: At least you didn't get to put it in reverse.

David: Terry.

Brother Jim: Yeah. But all went well.

Brother Jim: So how about you guys?

Brother Jim: Did you have a great fourth?

Brother Jim: Did you make any ribs?

Brother Jim: Um, did you make any barbecue?

Brother Jim: David and I, we got our hopes up.

Brother Jim: We had a person we did not know

Brother Jim: the other day show up at the

Brother Jim: church.

Brother Jim: Actually, it was Fourth of July.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: And he was trying to get in, and

Brother Jim: I couldn't help but think one,

Brother Jim: maybe he's one of our fans

Brother Jim: looking for autographs or two,

Brother Jim: maybe he had a plate full of

Brother Jim: ribs, brisket, barbecue chicken,

Brother Jim: steak, shrimp just waiting for

Brother Jim: us.

Brother Jim: So David and I are of the

Brother Jim: opinion we're starting to get

Brother Jim: fans coming looking for

Brother Jim: autographs and bringing us

Brother Jim: delicious food from the

Brother Jim: barbecue.

David: That's right.

Brother Jim: So, sir, whoever you are, I will be here at nine o'clock tomorrow

Brother Jim: morning or Monday.

Brother Jim: So throughout the week.

Brother Jim: Yes.

Brother Jim: So anything else?

Brother Jim: What you have on the barbecue?

David: Oh, we had, uh, the standard hamburgers, hot dogs, that type

David: of stuff, and, decorate the house all up.

David: Got the I put the put the lawn scraper to work and put the

David: stripes in the lawn.

Brother Jim: Oh, how did that turn out?

David: Well, I think it did pretty good.

David: It did better than without it,

David: but I think if it hadn't been

David: ninety five degrees outside and

David: everything being dried out, it

David: would have.

David: It would have done better.

David: But yeah, so we got the, we got

David: the flags in the ground and I, I

David: don't have a flagpole, but I, I

David: vertically hung a flag on the

David: porch.

David: Don't really have a great place to do it, but I figured it out

David: with some Christmas light clips.

David: And we got her up there.

David: And then the wind blew it across

David: the street and I went and chased

David: it down, put it back up, and the

David: next day the wind blew it across

David: the street because those storms

David: came through.

Brother Jim: Right?

David: So it's currently anchored with fishing wire on both ends of it.

David: Now it's not going anywhere.

Brother Jim: Just like a Christmas tree.

Brother Jim: That's right.

Brother Jim: I ain't going anywhere.

David: That's right.

Brother Jim: Yes. Uh, the many uses of fishing.

Brother Jim: That's right.

Brother Jim: Yes. People who travel in the left lane on the highway, who do

Brother Jim: not get over, they just continue to go sixty five or seventy or

Brother Jim: fifty five in the passing lane.

David: Yep.

Brother Jim: I'm with you on that boy.

Brother Jim: We are two for two on the same thing.

David: HMM. Not sure.

Brother Jim: May ours leave a legacy of faith, integrity, and hope.

Brother Jim: Now, I kind of touched on this before and.

Brother Jim: But I thought as we take our summer break here again.

Brother Jim: Concerns for America's youth as

Brother Jim: we celebrate two hundred and

Brother Jim: fifty.

Brother Jim: You know, David, I couldn't help but think we are so far removed

Brother Jim: from not having freedom.

David: Yeah.

Brother Jim: I mean, my generation, your generation, our children, our

Brother Jim: parents, our great grandparents.

Brother Jim: You know, now the World War Two generation, you kind of had that

Brother Jim: freedom was threatened.

Brother Jim: But and again, you can say over

Brother Jim: in the Middle East, you know, we

Brother Jim: took it to them, uh, to try to

Brother Jim: help, but also to preserve our

Brother Jim: freedom.

Brother Jim: But again, we're not back in

Brother Jim: seventeen seventy six, seventy

Brother Jim: five, seventy four, seventy

Brother Jim: three.

Brother Jim: And then after our declaration, we're very removed.

Brother Jim: But is it not important to remember to have concerns for

Brother Jim: our youth because they are the next generation, the future

Brother Jim: leaders, future leaders in our society, in our churches and our

Brother Jim: schools and our government and in our homes.

Brother Jim: How many how many of us remind

Brother Jim: our children, live a life that

Brother Jim: says, remember your creator now

Brother Jim: in Ecclesiastes.

Brother Jim: Ecclesiastes twelve one Remember

Brother Jim: your creator in the days of your

Brother Jim: youth, before the day of trouble

Brother Jim: come and the years approach when

Brother Jim: you will say, I find no pleasure

Brother Jim: in them.

Brother Jim: Now again, as Brother Jim, I

Brother Jim: have great hope for America's

Brother Jim: youth.

Brother Jim: They're intelligent.

Brother Jim: Oh my goodness, David, they are

Brother Jim: intelligent, they're gifted,

Brother Jim: they're creative, compassionate

Brother Jim: and so capable of accomplishing

Brother Jim: great things for the glory of

Brother Jim: God.

Brother Jim: But, you know, I also have a very deep concern for the

Brother Jim: direction that our young people are taking as a father.

Brother Jim: David, I'm sure you have concerns, too.

David: Absolutely.

Brother Jim: What is waiting for your three boys?

Brother Jim: Many, many roads.

Brother Jim: Is there not many paths, many obstacles, many distractions.

Brother Jim: Now, these concerns are not

Brother Jim: meant to condemn, but to call us

Brother Jim: to pray, disciple and love the

Brother Jim: next generation.

Brother Jim: Now here we go for the church.

Brother Jim: We must never give up on its youth.

Brother Jim: Instead.

Brother Jim: We must stay, we must stay.

Brother Jim: We must stand in the gap for them, pointing them to Jesus

Brother Jim: Christ, because the world's sure not going to do it.

Brother Jim: Devil, you know what the devil wants.

Brother Jim: He does not want Jesus involved at all, or even the opportunity,

Brother Jim: the idea of hope from Jesus.

Brother Jim: No, I'm concerned that many of

Brother Jim: our youth are growing up without

Brother Jim: God.

Brother Jim: Now.

Brother Jim: I think that's just a fact.

Brother Jim: David.

Brother Jim: Yeah, that's a strong fact.

Brother Jim: Growing up without God.

Brother Jim: Because guess what?

Brother Jim: Mom and dad were never.

Brother Jim: Associated with God.

David: Mhm.

Brother Jim: Grandma and grandpa, there's a huge gap anymore.

Brother Jim: And if you just look at some statistics, you'll see how many.

Brother Jim: The lack of worshipping, the lack of attending a church,

Brother Jim: getting involved because the church represents the kingdom.

Brother Jim: It is part of the kingdom.

Brother Jim: We are part of the kingdom.

Brother Jim: uh, Psalms fourteen one for the Director of Music.

Brother Jim: This is from David.

Brother Jim: The fool says in his heart there is no God.

Brother Jim: They are corrupt.

Brother Jim: Their deeds are vile.

Brother Jim: There is no one who does good.

Brother Jim: Many young people are growing up

Brother Jim: in homes where God is rarely

Brother Jim: discussed.

Brother Jim: God is mocked.

Brother Jim: God's name is used in vain.

Brother Jim: The Bible is seldom read and

Brother Jim: church attendance is very

Brother Jim: optional or just completely

Brother Jim: absent in your little area

Brother Jim: there.

Brother Jim: David, do you have people who go to church or people who don't go

Brother Jim: to church that you know of?

David: I mean, I've got I've got both.

David: I've got people that I know go to church and people that don't

David: go to church.

Brother Jim: Fifty fifty yeah.

David: Sixty forty yeah, probably

David: probably more sixty, forty don't

David: than do.

Brother Jim: Going up and down the road.

Brother Jim: It's not good on our road.

Brother Jim: One.

Brother Jim: Two.

Brother Jim: Three.

Brother Jim: I'd say maybe forty percent.

Brother Jim: Thirty percent.

David: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Just on our thirties.

Brother Jim: Pushing it.

Brother Jim: Just on rocks for Church Road.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Now, maybe I'm wrong, but I got a pretty good idea.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Without God, morality becomes relative.

Brother Jim: Truth becomes whatever feels right.

Brother Jim: Hope fades during difficult seasons.

Brother Jim: The greatest need of our youth

Brother Jim: is not more entertainment, but a

Brother Jim: personal relationship with

Brother Jim: Jesus.

Brother Jim: And that's one of the biggest things.

Brother Jim: Entertainment.

Brother Jim: Distractions, is it not for our youth, David.

Brother Jim: Growing up, we didn't have games to play with.

Brother Jim: Like on a car ride.

David: Right?

David: Yeah.

Brother Jim: You entertained yourself.

David: Yeah.

Brother Jim: You know, and that I get it.

Brother Jim: It's tough when you have the

Brother Jim: tools there to entertain the

Brother Jim: children.

Brother Jim: It's easy just to.

Brother Jim: But it's carried into personal experience.

Brother Jim: You're there at a family reunion.

Brother Jim: Well, there's the kids over there playing on their games.

Brother Jim: They're not getting to meet any of their cousins.

Brother Jim: They're not on the playground.

Brother Jim: They're not doing this.

Brother Jim: They're not doing that.

Brother Jim: They're not getting into trouble.

David: There's no social interaction skills.

Brother Jim: There you go.

Brother Jim: That that's summed it up all right there.

Brother Jim: There's no social interaction.

Brother Jim: So why would we think there's social or excuse me, personal

Brother Jim: interaction with Jesus?

Brother Jim: I think that's a fair question, is it not?

Brother Jim: Challenges.

Brother Jim: Parents must be the first disciples of the children.

Brother Jim: True kids learn from us.

Brother Jim: Little eyes.

Brother Jim: Little ears are watching.

Brother Jim: Listening.

Brother Jim: Concerned about biblical literacy now.

Brother Jim: Hosea four six my people are

Brother Jim: destroyed from lack of knowledge

Brother Jim: because you have rejected

Brother Jim: knowledge.

Brother Jim: I also reject you as my priest because you have ignored the law

Brother Jim: of your God.

Brother Jim: I will also ignore your children.

Brother Jim: Now what is knowledge, David?

Brother Jim: We have David who goes to the library anymore, right?

Brother Jim: How many kids have even heard of

Brother Jim: the Dewey Decimal system or

Brother Jim: going into the card catalog and

Brother Jim: trying.

Brother Jim: It's all right there.

David: It's all digital now.

David: Yeah.

Brother Jim: And I use it.

Brother Jim: I'm the first to say I use it, but what are we.

Brother Jim: But what are we putting in here?

Brother Jim: I remember guys had no interest

Brother Jim: in school, but boy, remember

Brother Jim: baseball cards?

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Collector items trading.

Brother Jim: They could tell you every stats of a baseball player or

Brother Jim: basketball, football, whatever.

Brother Jim: Amazing.

Brother Jim: And again, it goes to show the creation of God, the blessings

Brother Jim: he gives each person unique in very many different ways.

Brother Jim: Yeah, but we aren't we not finding the one constant.

Brother Jim: And you folks can agree or disagree that we're limiting.

Brother Jim: Now it's being more and more

Brother Jim: just about entertainment than

Brother Jim: knowledge, than reading,

Brother Jim: learning how things work and

Brother Jim: operate.

Brother Jim: And that carries over into the Bible.

Brother Jim: Many young people know

Brother Jim: celebrities, athletes, and

Brother Jim: social.

Brother Jim: Oh, here you go.

Brother Jim: Social media influencers like David and myself.

David: That's right.

Brother Jim: The best of the best.

Brother Jim: Yes. Thank you.

Brother Jim: Better than I know Scripture.

Brother Jim: And I'm going to say adults as

Brother Jim: well, and even grandparents

Brother Jim: anymore questions.

Brother Jim: Every Christian, young person or

Brother Jim: every person should be able to

Brother Jim: answer.

Brother Jim: Well, number one, who is Jesus?

Brother Jim: That'd be a great question to go around.

Brother Jim: Ask ten people Who's Jesus?

Brother Jim: Who is Jesus to you?

Brother Jim: Okay.

Brother Jim: Why did Jesus die?

Brother Jim: Do you understand what salvation is?

Brother Jim: What does the Bible teach about holiness?

Brother Jim: How many generations do not know God's word?

Brother Jim: Because.

Brother Jim: Because they just choose not to.

Brother Jim: They choose not to pass it down to be the leaders of the home.

Brother Jim: And in doing though this not

Brother Jim: doing this, we have created our

Brother Jim: family society become vulnerable

Brother Jim: to deception.

Brother Jim: And is that not one of the greatest tools tricks of the

Brother Jim: enemy is deception?

David: Yep.

Brother Jim: Yes. Think of all the deception we have in the world today.

Brother Jim: Now we can throw in AI.

Brother Jim: That's a big one.

Brother Jim: False prophets.

Brother Jim: False teachers.

Brother Jim: David.

Brother Jim: Any more, everything is a question mark to me.

David: Yeah, it really is.

Brother Jim: Is the Super Bowl really staged?

Brother Jim: Do they really know what the oddsmakers in Vegas?

Brother Jim: Are they dictating who's going to win?

David: Right.

Brother Jim: Makes you wonder.

Brother Jim: Sometimes basketball.

Brother Jim: I mean, again, I question everything anymore.

Brother Jim: The only thing we can hold on to that is true is right here.

Brother Jim: I'm concerned about the influence of the world.

Brother Jim: As a parent, I think we all should be very concerned about

Brother Jim: the influence of the world.

Brother Jim: Romans twelve two do not conform to the pattern of this world,

Brother Jim: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Brother Jim: Then you will be able to test

Brother Jim: and approve what God's will is

Brother Jim: his good, pleasing and perfect

Brother Jim: will.

Brother Jim: We are.

Brother Jim: Young people today are so surrounded by influences through

Brother Jim: again, our social media, the entertainment, the music, peer

Brother Jim: pressure and internet.

Brother Jim: Now, David, we went through.

Brother Jim: We didn't have social media back then.

Brother Jim: Entertainment though, music,

Brother Jim: peer pressure and we didn't have

Brother Jim: internet culture.

Brother Jim: But we had social culture, did we not?

Brother Jim: Yep.

Brother Jim: I know there's a couple of years difference, but I remember when

Brother Jim: Madonna came out how many girls were dressing like Madonna.

David: Yeah.

Brother Jim: When she came out with Like a Virgin.

Brother Jim: Oh my goodness.

Brother Jim: Michael Jackson with the glove and the jacket.

David: Yep.

Brother Jim: Was the white glove.

David: Yep.

Brother Jim: Who who didn't do the moonwalk?

Brother Jim: Maybe one day Brother Jim will do that for you.

David: There you go.

Brother Jim: Yeah. You see what I mean?

Brother Jim: And even going back further,

Brother Jim: John Wayne, Roy Rogers, how many

Brother Jim: little guys walked around with

Brother Jim: their cowboy hat and their six

Brother Jim: shooters?

Brother Jim: You know, to be the Lone Ranger.

Brother Jim: We're influenced.

Brother Jim: We all are.

Brother Jim: But now we've added social

Brother Jim: media, social media, cultural

Brother Jim: culture.

Brother Jim: Has changed.

Brother Jim: And every day they are being discipled by someone.

Brother Jim: The question is, who is shaping their minds?

Brother Jim: Jesus or the culture?

Brother Jim: God fearing parents or the culture?

Brother Jim: The church or the culture.

Brother Jim: Some good questions, my friends.

Brother Jim: What about I dentity confusion.

Brother Jim: David.

Brother Jim: Hey, folks.

Brother Jim: So let's get real about it.

Brother Jim: Yeah, I mean, I don't know about other countries.

Brother Jim: I'm sure they have problems like

Brother Jim: this as well, but only in

Brother Jim: America.

Brother Jim: We're pushing kids.

Brother Jim: There's a small group pushing kids that, hey, you can choose

Brother Jim: to be whatever you want to be in context as far as career, that

Brother Jim: kind of stuff.

Brother Jim: That's great.

Brother Jim: True.

Brother Jim: You want to be an engineer on a train, you be an engineer on a

Brother Jim: train, you want to be a doctor.

Brother Jim: That's one of the great things about America.

Brother Jim: You can come here and you can succeed in your calling.

David: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Genesis one twenty seven.

Brother Jim: So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God.

Brother Jim: He created them male and female.

Brother Jim: He created them.

Brother Jim: MM. So how many people struggle with self worth?

Brother Jim: How many young people struggle with self worth, Purpose,

Brother Jim: acceptance, and identity.

Brother Jim: And you can take that word both ways sexual identity and just

Brother Jim: plain old identity.

Brother Jim: David, did we not suffer

Brother Jim: self-worth, purpose trying to

Brother Jim: fit in?

Brother Jim: Who's sitting at the cool lunch table?

David: Right.

Brother Jim: How many of us wanted to sit at the cool lunch table?

Brother Jim: How many of us wanted to hang

Brother Jim: with the athletes, the jocks,

Brother Jim: the cheerleaders always trying

Brother Jim: to find?

Brother Jim: I think the lunch table is a good example.

Brother Jim: What table you sat at kind of

Brother Jim: showed the pecking order in

Brother Jim: school.

Brother Jim: Got the nerds over there.

Brother Jim: The geeks, the losers.

Brother Jim: Folks, I'm just saying, you

Brother Jim: know, don't everybody found

Brother Jim: their niche?

Brother Jim: And then you had the ones that just.

Brother Jim: Hey, can I sit with you, man?

David: Yep.

Brother Jim: Yeah. And David, do we as adults still suffer from self-worth?

David: Sure.

Brother Jim: Purpose?

David: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Acceptance and identity.

Brother Jim: Yeah yeah yeah.

Brother Jim: And yeah.

Brother Jim: The world tells our youth you define yourself.

Brother Jim: The Bible says you are created by God, loved by God, and can be

Brother Jim: redeemed through Christ.

Brother Jim: Our identity should be rooted in Christ rather than in

Brother Jim: popularity, achievements, or the opinions of others.

Brother Jim: Oh my David, I got a participation trophy.

Brother Jim: I have a hard time with that one.

David: Yeah.

Brother Jim: It eliminates it takes away the ability to go out, to work

Brother Jim: harder, to improve yourself, to become a better athlete, to

Brother Jim: become a better student, to become a better parent.

Brother Jim: How many of us have World's greatest dad cups?

Brother Jim: World's greatest t shirts.

Brother Jim: Hats.

Brother Jim: True.

David: Yep.

Brother Jim: Are you really?

Brother Jim: AM I really the greatest dad in the world?

Brother Jim: Or just as a consumer.

Brother Jim: Here you go, David.

Brother Jim: Hey, you're the greatest dad in the world.

Brother Jim: How we strive for popularity,

Brother Jim: achievements, or the opinions of

Brother Jim: others.

Brother Jim: If we do, I bet my bottom dollar.

Brother Jim: What about our mental and

Brother Jim: emotional struggles for our

Brother Jim: youth?

Brother Jim: Oh Lord help us.

Brother Jim: How many young people we know

Brother Jim: that battle anxiety, depression,

Brother Jim: loneliness, fear and

Brother Jim: hopelessness?

Brother Jim: Now, David, as an adult, I can check every one of them boxes.

David: Mhm.

Brother Jim: But for children, and it seems like it's younger, David, we've

Brother Jim: set them up for failure.

David: Yeah.

Brother Jim: And again, where am I sleeping tonight?

Brother Jim: AM I going to get fed?

Brother Jim: Who do I call dad?

Brother Jim: This week, Moms brought in another boyfriend or dads

Brother Jim: brought in another girlfriend.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: Can I call you mommy?

Brother Jim: Seriously?

Brother Jim: And that's the sad thing.

Brother Jim: What are we doing to our kids?

Brother Jim: What are you.

Brother Jim: What am I?

Brother Jim: What are we doing as a country?

Brother Jim: To our children?

Brother Jim: To the families?

Brother Jim: No wonder they're depressed.

Brother Jim: No wonder they're lonely.

Brother Jim: How many kids are on anxiety pills already?

Brother Jim: Because we.

Brother Jim: Yes, we have failed.

Brother Jim: Just my opinion.

Brother Jim: But prove me wrong.

Brother Jim: But then, on the other hand,

Brother Jim: look how many kids are achieving

Brother Jim: fulfilling.

Brother Jim: And you know what, David?

Brother Jim: I'm going to bet my bottom dollar again.

Brother Jim: Usually they got a pretty loving family support system.

David: Yeah.

Brother Jim: But what about those ones that even have a Christian believers

Brother Jim: in Christ preaching, teaching, modeling what it is to be.

Brother Jim: An American, but better yet, to be a Christian.

Brother Jim: That's the key right there.

David: Yeah.

Brother Jim: While these struggles are real and often require compassionate

Brother Jim: support, sometimes professional care is appropriate.

Brother Jim: But there also need to.

Brother Jim: They need to be reminded.

Brother Jim: The church is a place.

Brother Jim: And again, have we failed so many times in the church abroad?

Brother Jim: A place where young people find love, encouragement and hope.

Brother Jim: Philippians four six seven tells us, do not be anxious about

Brother Jim: anything, but in every situation, by prayer and

Brother Jim: petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Brother Jim: And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,

Brother Jim: will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Brother Jim: God offers peace that guards our hearts.

Brother Jim: The church should never shame hurting young people.

Brother Jim: We should walk beside them And let me ask you something.

Brother Jim: And I've heard it.

Brother Jim: I've done it.

Brother Jim: We bash the youth, don't we?

Brother Jim: Yeah we do.

Brother Jim: Well, they're this, they're that.

Brother Jim: They don't know how to work.

Brother Jim: They blah blah.

Brother Jim: I would love to go back.

Brother Jim: Okay, let's watch a little.

Brother Jim: Eddie when he was a youth.

Brother Jim: There's Eddie complaining about the youth today.

Brother Jim: Let's take a look.

Brother Jim: Let's zoom in for a day in the life of Eddie.

Brother Jim: Were you that way, Eddie?

Brother Jim: Kind of the same pattern.

Brother Jim: Is it not a little different?

Brother Jim: But still, instead of complaining all the time and

Brother Jim: degrading them, why don't we pick them up and encourage them

Brother Jim: and show them?

Brother Jim: David, actually show them.

Brother Jim: Hey, this is what it means to keep your word.

Brother Jim: This is what it means to get in your Bible.

Brother Jim: This is how we pray.

Brother Jim: HMM.

Brother Jim: That takes effort, doesn't it?

Brother Jim: And time.

Brother Jim: I want to finish up with this one.

Brother Jim: The breakdown of the family.

Brother Jim: Deuteronomy six to seven and I

Brother Jim: know we've used this one before,

Brother Jim: but these commandments that I

Brother Jim: give you today are to be on your

Brother Jim: hearts and press them on your

Brother Jim: children.

Brother Jim: Now, did God send His word just to be, uh, you know, uh, uh,

Brother Jim: like an entertainment page?

David: No.

Brother Jim: Do you think there might be some wisdom in there, David?

David: There's a lot of wisdom.

Brother Jim: There might be some guidance in there.

Brother Jim: Impress them on your children.

Brother Jim: Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the

Brother Jim: road while you lie down.

Brother Jim: And when you get up.

Brother Jim: But that means you got to be present.

Brother Jim: That means they got to be present.

Brother Jim: And here's the problem again.

Brother Jim: How many kids families are on the run getting kids to every

Brother Jim: activity on God's green earth?

Brother Jim: You don't even see your wife.

Brother Jim: You don't even see your husband.

Brother Jim: Hey, I'm going here.

Brother Jim: Okay, I'm going there.

Brother Jim: Okay.

Brother Jim: And then you collapse at night.

David: Yep.

Brother Jim: That's what we got going.

Brother Jim: God designed parents to teach his truth diligently.

Brother Jim: Strong churches begin with strong families.

Brother Jim: Children desperately need loving parents, godly examples,

Brother Jim: biblical instruction, consistent disciple, discipleship,

Brother Jim: discipline, and encouragement.

Brother Jim: No ministry can fully replace

Brother Jim: the influence of a faithful

Brother Jim: home.

Brother Jim: How about it, folks?

Brother Jim: Good behavior cannot save you.

Brother Jim: And maybe that's where.

Brother Jim: How many of you ever been told from your mama?

Brother Jim: You guys, can you be good today?

Brother Jim: You know you're going somewhere?

David: Yep.

Brother Jim: Remember those?

David: The talk in the car before you get out?

David: Yeah.

Brother Jim: You get it on the head.

Brother Jim: The talk.

Brother Jim: They need to have more than just the talk.

Brother Jim: Now, the talk could be many things, and I'm not.

Brother Jim: You know, I'm encouraged.

Brother Jim: You have many talks with them.

Brother Jim: But the one thing good behavior and we as adults need to hear.

Brother Jim: Cannot save your soul.

Brother Jim: Only Jesus saves in John fourteen six.

Brother Jim: How many kids know this?

Brother Jim: How many adults?

Brother Jim: I am the way and the truth and the life.

Brother Jim: No one comes to the father except through me.

Brother Jim: America's greatest need is not

Brother Jim: simply better education, more

Brother Jim: technology, or greater

Brother Jim: prosperity.

Brother Jim: Our kids need Jesus.

Brother Jim: We need to pray daily for them,

Brother Jim: for their salvation, their

Brother Jim: protection, their wisdom, godly

Brother Jim: friendships, and future

Brother Jim: families.

Brother Jim: How many of us pray for our

Brother Jim: children to have good, godly

Brother Jim: friends?

Brother Jim: Oh!

Brother Jim: How many of us are praying for our children to find the spouse

Brother Jim: that God created for them?

Brother Jim: Instead of picking out any Tom, Dick, or Harry that comes along

Brother Jim: and woos them?

Brother Jim: teach the Bible faithfully.

Brother Jim: Young people need truth more than friends.

Brother Jim: Model authentic faith.

Brother Jim: Hypocrisy.

Brother Jim: They pick up on that pretty quick.

Brother Jim: They need adults who genuinely follow Christ every day.

Brother Jim: So that falls on you and I. We

Brother Jim: need to encourage rather than

Brother Jim: criticize.

Brother Jim: Instead of saying, hey, David,

Brother Jim: this generation is hopeless or

Brother Jim: worthless, this generation is

Brother Jim: worth reaching.

Brother Jim: Wouldn't that be a great battle cry?

Brother Jim: Yeah, this generation is worth reaching.

Brother Jim: Share the gospel.

Brother Jim: Never assume young people know the gospel.

Brother Jim: Tell them often.

Brother Jim: The future of America is not ultimately determined by its

Brother Jim: economy or politics by.

Brother Jim: By the hearts of its people.

Brother Jim: If we desire a stronger nation,

Brother Jim: Timothy four twelve, let no man

Brother Jim: despise thy youth, but be thou

Brother Jim: an example of the believers in

Brother Jim: word, in conversation and

Brother Jim: charity, in spirit and faith and

Brother Jim: purity?

Brother Jim: May we pray that God raises up a generation of young men and

Brother Jim: women who know His Word, love His Son, and courageously live

Brother Jim: out their faith.

David: Yeah. You were talking earlier

David: about the, you know, Michael

David: Jackson.

David: And it took me back to to third grade when I was in third grade,

David: my teacher, wonderful teacher.

David: We, we did exercises and she

David: thought it'd be a good idea to

David: do exercise exercises to Michael

David: Jackson's The Way You Make Me

David: Feel.

David: Great song.

David: Right?

David: Yeah.

David: And there was nothing, you know,

David: it was just normal calisthenics,

David: you know, get you moving in the

David: morning.

David: I don't know if that was enough

David: specifically, or if that was

David: just the straw that broke the

David: camel's back.

David: But either way, that was a

David: determining factor for my

David: parents to enroll me in

David: Christian school.

Brother Jim: MM.

David: My, we've come a long way, Virginia, because that compared

David: to what the kids deal with today is absolutely nothing.

David: So it's just we've we've, we've slipped on a slippery slope.

David: And the things that kids have to deal with today pay our stuff.

David: We did pale in comparison to what they have to deal with.

Brother Jim: Yeah. I wouldn't want to be a kid today.

Brother Jim: No, I know that.

Brother Jim: No, not want to be a kid.

Brother Jim: Would not want to be a kid.

Brother Jim: And I don't say that out of

Brother Jim: meanness or anything, I just

Brother Jim: know.

Brother Jim: Yeah.

Brother Jim: I had a great childhood, and we

Brother Jim: still have an opportunity to

Brother Jim: make our children's childhood

Brother Jim: great.

Brother Jim: Yep.

Brother Jim: Not by spoiling them.

Brother Jim: Which that's hard to do.

Brother Jim: I get it, but being there for them.

Brother Jim: Right.

Brother Jim: Time invested.

Brother Jim: But above all, teaching them about God and His word.

Brother Jim: Well, remember, you are friends.

Brother Jim: You have meaning, you have value.

Brother Jim: And most of all, you are loved.

Brother Jim: Never forget that you.

Brother Jim: Yes, you were created with purpose.

Brother Jim: And yes, the world is better because you're in it.

Brother Jim: May God continue to bless you, guide you, strengthen you, and

Brother Jim: walk beside you through every moment of this day.

Brother Jim: And may you and I continue to thank our Lord above for the

Brother Jim: blessings we often so take for granted each and every day.

Brother Jim: So wherever life takes you today, keep on smiling.

Brother Jim: Keep believing, keep loving, keep trusting God.
