  4. God is closer than you think, and your purpose is greater than you imagine.

  5. Enjoy the message.

  6. Church, Global Haven's Calgary is in the third year.

  7. Not by power, not by might, but by the Spirit of the Lord.

  8. Amen.

  9. And it is important that we understand the times and the seasons that we are in.

  10. It is important that we have a clear picture of what the Lord is doing and where He's leading us as a people.

  11. Say to yourself, I'm not an ordinary person.

  12. Say to your neighbor, you are not an ordinary person.

  13. Amen.

  14. You know, in preparing for this um the service today and what we're gonna be talking about, in my heart, I just said, Yes, we're gonna be thanking God.

  15. Thanksgiving, because he deserves it, because he alone is worthy, because who are we without him?

  16. I don't know about you, but I know what could have been, what would have been, if not for the Lord Jesus.

  17. Amen.

  18. And why is it important to know this thing?

  19. Because in the book of 1 Chronicles, chapter 12, verse 32, it talks about the sons of Issachar.

    1 Chronicles 12:32

  20. He says, The sons of Issachar who had understanding of times to know what Israel ought to do, and their chiefs were 200, and all their brethren were at their command.

  21. Luke 19, verse 44.

    Luke 19:44

  22. It talks about the destruction that will come upon Jerusalem because they did not understand the time of their visitation.

  23. Global Harvest Calgary.

  24. We are in the third year.

  25. Amen.

  26. Somebody shout hallelujah! We need to be aware, we need to have a strong awareness of what God expects of us as a people.

  27. And like I said, it was supposed to be just thanksgiving.

  28. But he said to me, the edge.

  29. I'm like the edge.

  30. When you talk about the egg, there are so many things that can show up.

  31. You can talk about if you break the edge, the serpent will bite.

  32. You can talk about the fact that you are at the edge of a new thing, you are the premise of something.

  33. Amen.

  34. He says, the edge when you are at the edge.

  35. And I'm like, okay, what is this play of words?

  36. Honestly, I still struggled with it until this morning.

  37. What is this play of the edge when you are at the edge?

  38. And he says, Church, my people is at the edge of a new thing.

  39. Amen.

  40. And we need to be sensitive.

  41. We need to know.

  42. Because if you don't know, you know they've devised a means now where you can actually be in water and not be wet.

  43. You just need to wear your suit.

  44. Your body will not experience you will not, water will not touch you.

  45. And I see that sometimes as believers, we are in the flow of God, but we are guided with this suit that does not allow us to be touched.

  46. And you're wondering, I see it on the left, I see it on the right.

  47. What about me?

  48. Amen.

  49. We must understand that the third year it carries a lot of symbolism and significance when it comes to the things of the spirit.

  50. The number three often represents divine completeness.

  51. And I know and I hear the Lord saying to me that in every area that we are expecting completeness, this year, as we step into it, we begin to experience it in the name of Jesus.

  52. Because Jesus did it all, we're complete in Him.

  53. So three, I need you to be aware that as we launch into this new phase of the church, it's a phase of entering into that completeness.

  54. We are at the edge of something amazing.

  55. Three also signifies resurrection.

  56. He's alive again.

  57. The stone's been rolled away.

  58. He's alive, he's no longer where he lives.

  59. Resurrection.

  60. And I hear in my spirit the Lord saying, What is that thing that you think is dead?

  61. This matter is finished, it's complete, nothing can happen about it anymore.

  62. The Lord says he's bringing it up again.

  63. He says he's resurrecting those issues again.

  64. And I speak to every deadness in your life, in my life, that will experience the resurrection power of Christ in the name of Jesus.

  65. You will think that as a small church, just two years, how can this amazing thing begin to happen?

  66. God says, You have not seen anything yet.

  67. He's just starting with us.

  68. You need to shed off that suit.

  69. That suit that makes you be in water and you are not touched.

  70. You need to shed it.

  71. I don't know who he's speaking to.

  72. You know yourself, but we need to let go so that we can experience the fullness of God.

  73. Three also signifies fruitfulness, it's a confirmation.

  74. The Bible says at the mouth of two or three witnesses, what will happen?

  75. The truth will be established, and it is the active presence of God.

  76. As a church and as a people, it's an indication that we are living in the phase of survival and we are going into growth.

  77. There will be an increase in capacity, indeed, expansion.

  78. Let me tell you something.

  79. Our being in this room this morning, it was not so planned.

  80. That was not the plan.

  81. It happened within the space of one week.

  82. It was not like we are thought, you know, after anniversary, you know, the next Sunday, we should just go into foothills, and you can see foothills is bigger.

  83. Expansion.

  84. It is divine orchestration.

  85. In fact, we were not supposed to get it.

  86. But again, when the Lord has put your name on something, we need to be sensitive, church, is what I'm saying.

  87. God is the midst of you.

  88. Expansion.

  89. Increase in capacity.

  90. Establishment.

  91. The realm of greater impacts and greater glory.

  92. Amen.

  93. The Lord is firmly planting his church, he's expanding his church, he's increasing his people, he's positioning us and strengthening us for that impact that he has proposed.

  94. And when we ask, we are but a little people.

  95. How shall these things be?

  96. You know, a certain lady that asked that same question in the scriptures.

  97. When the Lord came to us, it says you.

  98. This and this and this will have been saying, at least not behave like um what's that?

  99. What's the name of that guy that was at the threshing floor?

  100. That no, Gideon.

  101. No, it can't be me.

  102. How can how shall these things be?

  103. How shall the desires of your heart be granted?

  104. How shall the things you've been asking the Lord for?

  105. How shall you experience them?

  106. And God answers, He says, It's in the theme of our anniversary.

  107. Occupy.

  108. Amen.

  109. Lord answers and He says, We've got to occupy.

  110. As Global Harvest Calgary gets into our third year, we must occupy.

  111. And what that means is, you know, uh God says, occupy.

  112. And you need to understand that the way God deals with man is different from the way he deals with every other thing he created.

  113. When he once he was gonna create the sun and the farmament, what did he do?

  114. He spoke it.

  115. When he wanted to create the fishes, what did he do?

  116. He spoke when he wanted to create the lights, everything else apart from man, even the animals, he spoke it.

  117. But when he came turned for man, what did God do?

  118. He created when it comes to man, God does not just conjure things up, and God says to say to you that the blessing you are looking for is in the work that He has called you to do, the blessing you're looking for is in the work.

  119. Okay, the blessing you're looking for is in the work you are avoiding to do.

  120. I also hear in my spirit that the the the blessing you're looking for is in the work you are postponing.

  121. The blessing is in the work.

  122. Luke chapter 19.

    Luke 19 chapter mention

  123. We're gonna read from verse 13 to 24, and then we take it on from there as the Lord will help us.

  124. Pastor Italia already did a whole lot of work on this during the anniversary.

  125. So we're gonna read from verse 13 all the way to 24.

  126. Um, I'll take the first verse you take.

  127. I need yeah, we need to read everything so that okay.

  128. All right, but I want us to read together.

  129. You take 13, then um, I'll take 14.

  130. We take you take 15 and read and response, but I'm still gonna be reading with you.

  131. Let's go.

  132. So he called 10 of his servants and gave them 10 miners.

  133. Pull this money to work, he said, until I come back.

  134. Verse 14.

  135. And to be our king.

  136. Verse 15.

  137. He was made king, however, and returned home.

  138. Then he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money in order to find out what they had gained with it.

  139. Verse 16.

  140. The first one came and said, Sir, your miner has earned 10 more.

  141. 17, Well done, my good servant.

  142. His master replied, because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of 10 cities.

  143. The second came and said, Sir, your mina has earned five more.

  144. His master answered, Take charge of five cities.

  145. Then another servant came and said, Sir, here is your mina.

  146. I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth.

  147. I was afraid of you because you are a hard man.

  148. You take out what you did not put in and you reap what you did not sow.

  149. His master replied, I will judge you by your own words, you wicked servants.

  150. You knew, did you, that I am a hard man taking out what I did not put in and reaping what I did not sow.

  151. And last together, why then didn't you put my money on a deposit so that when I came back, I could have collected it with interest?

  152. Amen.

  153. Before we got to that, you know, we talked about the issue of Zachos and all of that.

  154. And like I said, if you want to learn more about that, go and listen to the Annival's last Sunday message, power packed.

  155. But what God wants us to see here today is this it's very simple.

  156. KJV says he called his ten servants and delivered them 10 pounds and said to them, occupy till I come.

  157. And KJV says he called 10 of his servants and delivered to them 10 miners and said to them, Do business till I come.

  158. NIV, then he called 10 of his servants and gave them 10 miners.

  159. Put this to work, he said, until I come back.

  160. So when we say occupy, it almost sounds very fancy.

  161. Like, yeah, the Lord says we should occupy.

  162. But when we go through the different, you know, um interpretation, we realize he's saying what?

  163. Do business.

  164. In fact, NIV is very clear.

  165. What did he say?

  166. Work.

  167. He says, put this to work until I come back.

  168. So God has commanded us to occupy, to influence, to build, to multiply, to serve, and to advance his kingdom.

  169. There's work to be done, church.

  170. The blessing you're waiting for, the blessing you're looking for is on the other side of that walk.

  171. And I will show you from the scriptures because God does not owe any man.

  172. Amen.

  173. So how many servants did he the scriptures say this man had?

  174. Actually, he didn't say it says he called ten of his servants, right?

  175. So that means probably he had more than ten.

  176. Amen.

  177. Amen.

  178. So he called ten of them, and he gave them what?

  179. Talents, miners.

  180. In fact, this is one scripture that gave me comfort, and I'll tell you why.

  181. When we read the story of the talent, he says he gave one ten.

  182. I mean, he gave one five, he gave one two, and then you can say, ah, God gave me only one, so that's why I'm doing what I'm doing.

  183. But this scripture tells us that he called ten and he distributed ten miners among them.

  184. So, what does that tell us?

  185. How many each?

  186. Let that sink.

  187. He gave each one the same thing.

  188. One ten servants, ten miners, ten pounds, whatever you want to call it.

  189. Equal blessing, equal giftings.

  190. And yeah, you begin to think that ah, sir, that demo can sing, I can't sing.

  191. How is that equal?

  192. You know what she said?

  193. She said, Find your own.

  194. Amen.

  195. It's equal, it might be different dimensions, it might be different expressions, but God did not send anybody here empty.

  196. He gave everyone something, he gave everyone something, and he traveled, and yeah, it is a type of Christ.

  197. He came, he saved our souls, and he said he's coming back again.

  198. And when he comes back, brethren, let me put it to you that he's not gonna ask you, how many cars did you buy while you were on earth?

  199. How many houses?

  200. How many children?

  201. Was it the lack or the abundance of kids?

  202. No.

  203. Those things we established already last Sunday that they are good to have, but they are not the essence of our lives.

  204. You are not saved to buy houses and cars, we are saved for the advancement of the kingdom.

  205. He says we need to multiply, we need to advance his kingdom.

  206. But what I find is most believers we forget that we are spiritual beings having a human experience.

  207. We think this is our life, this is it.

  208. We've forgotten that there is a place we are still gonna go, where we're gonna have to give accounts.

  209. So I'm saying to you, he gave everyone equal.

  210. When you look at it today, while I was um what here now?

  211. I was in the UK doing my master's.

  212. I had this Chinese friend, and this guy will say to me, Kemi, Kemi, you people, you're too lazy.

  213. What do you mean?

  214. He says, when you read something, you say I don't understand, and then you leave it.

  215. He says, No.

  216. So, what are we supposed to do?

  217. Apart from go and find someone that will explain more to you.

  218. He says, You read it one time, you close it.

  219. You go back second time, you read it, you close it.

  220. Ten times you read it, after ten times, twenty times, thirty times, you will understand.

  221. And I'm like, okay, okay, and then I read the book titled Outliers.

  222. It talks about 10,000 hours.

  223. How when you do something for 10,000 hours, you become a pro in it.

  224. Do you think Serena Williams was born with a racket in her hands?

  225. She was born the same way I was born.

  226. But somebody put the racket and somebody led her through that path.

  227. Some of us were blessed that while you were growing up, oh, father, a mother, a mentor, auntie, grandmother, whoever helped you to fan to flame the giftings in you.

  228. But now, the moment you are over 10, thou art inexcusable, oh man of God.

  229. It's time for us to begin to fan those things into flame by ourselves.

  230. There are stories of people that went, started something at age 50, and then within 10 years they became pro.

  231. There are stories of people that started at age 60.

  232. I heard of a case of a man that wanted to go and study law at age 70, something.

  233. Occupy till I come.

  234. Occupying is work.

  235. First of all, a round of applause for yourselves.

  236. And I'm sure you're wondering why now, okay.

  237. The after all that you said.

  238. This morning we said we're gonna come in to set up this place, and I saw people trooping in early, and that really warmed my heart.

  239. And I feel like you know, while we're arranging, trying to get everything, somebody might be thinking, ah, what is all this?

  240. If we are staying in GT, we know what to do, no hassles.

  241. Occupying is work, occupying is hard work, it is work, but it is rewarding work, it is fulfilling work, it is satisfying work.

  242. No one becomes perfect without putting in the work.

  243. Even when we started with JT, I remember when we would come, it would take us time and time and time to set up, but after some time it became like plug and play.

  244. Everybody knew what to do.

  245. Give it time, yeah too.

  246. Amen.

  247. So, what is that thing that is confounding you right now that you're wondering, ah, will I ever know this thing?

  248. Will I ever be able to make it in this thing?

  249. Put in the work and give it time.

  250. So, when you are at the edge of a new thing, where you are at the edge of a miraculous, where you are at the edge of the supernatural, walk is the edge.

  251. Amen.

  252. Amen.

  253. Amen.

  254. Turn to your neighbor and ask them, will you walk?

  255. Will you walk?

  256. In fact, ask them, will you walk hard?

  257. What did they say?

  258. Amen.

  259. Amen.

  260. And as we read the scriptures, we begin to realize that even though they all got one one of each, it got to a point where one came and said, With the one you've given me, I have ten.

  261. The other said, With the one you've given me, I have five.

  262. And the last guy came and said, The one you gave me, I wrap it.

  263. In fact, one version says I put it in an handkerchief.

  264. I didn't allow it to be dirty, I preserved it, and I returned it back to you.

  265. And the Bible says it was called a wicked servant, very wasteful.

  266. Amen.

  267. And do you know the funny thing?

  268. To the guy, so that I begin to bring this home.

  269. To the guy that made ten, what was the reward?

  270. Imagine when a servant began to rule over ten cities.

  271. Because I imagine that servant had been thinking in his heart, when will I ever be free?

  272. When will I ever be a man in my own house?

  273. When will I ever, when will this ever happen?

  274. And he was not just giving one city.

  275. The Bible says, Become a ruler over ten cities.

  276. The blessing is in the work, people of God.

  277. And to the guy that from one he made five.

  278. He was given what?

  279. Five cities.

  280. And you would think that at least the one that got one that still maintained fairness in humanity tells us that at least give him one.

  281. After all, he didn't lose the one.

  282. But the Bible tells us there was no reward for that.

  283. So there's no reward for keeping your giftings and your talents.

  284. There's no reward for not occupying, for not doing the work.

  285. And this work of occupying, we already established that it is principally to advance the kingdom.

  286. So you are a lawyer, you are a doctor, an engineer, a finance person, a teacher.

  287. You are supposed to work.

  288. You're supposed to occupy.

  289. Your life should be a light that brings others to Christ.

  290. And remember what Pastor was it Martin?

  291. The life you're living now.

  292. Is it what Christ is dying for?

  293. The essence why you are getting that job, while you are in that organization, is that light might shine in there.

  294. It's for light.

  295. In fact, let me bring it home and closer.

  296. The reason why you are married is to shine light on your spouse.

  297. You're an uncle is to shine light on the people around.

  298. There was a minister I was watching once, and this man was just saying, He, by God's grace, he has touched thousands and thousands of life.

  299. And he was saying, I thank God I had the praying grandmother.

  300. I thank God I had the praying grandmother.

  301. I thank God I had the praying grandmother.

  302. Prayer is work, but it's fulfilling work.

  303. Will you be that grandmother for someone?

  304. Will you be that grandfather for someone?

  305. Will you be that colleague that the guy will say, Thank God this man came to work?

  306. Thank God he's here, she's here.

  307. Are we working for the kingdom?

  308. Or we're just thinking about eight hours make one day, and then 40 hours a week, you get your pay.

  309. The salary you are being paid is just a stiffen.

  310. The real work is to go there and shine light.

  311. Do they even know that you are a believer where you are?

  312. Do they even know?

  313. I had a meeting with someone, and we've met, we met once, and we had a call yesterday, and when she was going to finish that call, she said, I will be there.

  314. And she mentioned something, and my head went bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.

  315. I'm like, What?

  316. How did I not know that this person was not a believer?

  317. Because she said the right things.

  318. Every time we had the um, every time we connected and were speaking, you she had the similitude of a believer.

  319. And I'm like, huh, there's work to be done.

  320. Amen.

  321. Amen.

  322. We are in a season where the Lord has said we must occupy, we must occupy Calgary for Him.

  323. We must, in fact, we must occupy first.

  324. We start here within this um neighborhood, Triwood.

  325. We must occupy Triwood for Christ.

  326. We must occupy Calgary.

  327. Canada must know we are here.

  328. The world at large must know that you exist.

  329. How is our life pointing others to the gospel?

  330. We thank God for the testimonies, we thank God for the miracles.

  331. But those miracles, those testimonies are for a reason.

  332. Because the life I live, I no longer live for myself, I now live for Christ.

  333. Died for me.

  334. So when you are out there in the marketplace, Christ be glorified.

  335. When you are there in that office, Christ be glorified.

  336. Not everybody will wear color every day and be a preacher, but he says, do the work of an evangelist.

  337. Amen.

  338. We must minister because I I sense him.

  339. In fact, we already know that that is the direction God is taking us as a people, as a church, he's been hammering it.

  340. And now that we are entering into this third year, he has said it expressly.

  341. There is work to be done.

  342. May the Lord find us able and working and ready in the name of Jesus.

  343. If you think you've seen blessing, invest more into the work of the Lord, and you will see that you are you ain't seen nothing yet.

  344. Because God does not owe any man.

  345. He says, He has not called the houses of Israel to seek him in vain.

  346. He hasn't.

  347. Amen.

  348. And as we go into this third year, some will feel distracted because of the pressures of this world, some will feel discouraged, some will feel disappointed, and then we leave the world because the master may tarry, just like in the case of this people or the case of the ten virgins.

  349. Then where do we go from there?

  350. The one thing that you know sometimes when I think about it, when we talk about church hurts, how people, because somebody in church hurts us, and because of that, we abandoned the gospel.

  351. And I ask myself, when you come to church, we already know that you go to the hospital, you the first person that you meet at the door is you start telling them everything that is wrong with you.

  352. Do you do that?

  353. Why?

  354. That's not your doctor.

  355. Even if they start asking you questions, I'm here, I have an appointment.

  356. I'm here to see Dr.

  357. XYZ.

  358. So why do we come to church?

  359. And when somebody, an usher mistakenly or even purposely, steps on your leg and says, I'm not coming to church again.

  360. Or this the usher insulted me.

  361. That pastor, the way she even looks at me sometimes, they should keep their Jesus.

  362. And yet we go to work.

  363. Our bosses sometimes, our colleagues, they miss yan.

  364. Do you say because of that you're not going to work again?

  365. Some of us we are in toxic workplaces and we stay there.

  366. But when it comes to church, we carry our bag and we run away.

  367. Amen.

  368. There is work to be done.

  369. Receive capacity to do it in the name of Jesus.

  370. Because at the end of the day, no excuse will be tenable.

  371. None.

  372. No excuse will be tenable.

  373. Oh, I know the kind of man you are, I know that you do this, I know that.

  374. When life begins to happen.

  375. Because there is no way we look at it.

  376. Life for life.

  377. That is the that is the work of life.

  378. Right?

  379. It's like saying, Why is a radio singing?

  380. The work of the radio is to if you don't is to bring out sound.

  381. If you don't stop it, it will keep going forever, as long as there's somebody feeding it something.

  382. And think about it.

  383. Life is in seasons.

  384. Morning, night, summer, summer, summer.

  385. But summer, whether we like it or not, will give way to fall.

  386. No matter what you do, stand outside and hold the sun.

  387. Fall will come, and then another winter will come.

  388. So life is in seasons.

  389. So understand that life is in seasons.

  390. So when your season changes, that shouldn't change you.

  391. Calgary doesn't change his name during winter and says, Ah, because it's winter, we are no longer Calgary.

  392. No.

  393. Amen.

  394. No matter the seasons of life, stay planted, stay rooted, stay working, stay building, stay influencing, stay impacting, stay occupying.

  395. Because I also know that we are at that premise where God is ready to do, to unleash his power like water over the land.

  396. So for you to be able to multiply that one thing into 10, into a thousand, into a million, you need work.

  397. But as you walk, there has to be a posture of your heart, and that is the posture of thanksgiving.

  398. As you do, sometimes the work is hard.

  399. You carry the chair, it's lighter, you carry it another day, it's heavy.

  400. We give God thanks.

  401. Because thanks, thanksgiving is that intentional expression of gratitude to the God who gave the work, who gave the capacity to do the work, and who rewards the work.

  402. Amen.

  403. So no matter what life looks like, let's be great.

  404. So two things I'm leaving with us today.

  405. The first thing is work.

  406. We must walk.

  407. And I know we have a concept of retirement in this in humanity where at age 65 they say people have retired, and that's why you see that before 75, 80, a lot of people are dead.

  408. Because when God created man, said work, and he expects us to still be flourishing even in our old age.

  409. Amen.

  410. So this KDO you are seeing.

  411. I don't know what retirement is.

  412. We're gonna keep walking until he calls us home.

  413. The work may change, the dimensions may change, but the fact that we are walking, we are we are flourishing in his cult, doesn't change.

  414. Amen.

  415. Amen.

  416. Who is ready to walk?

  417. Heaven is seeing your hands, and heaven is seeing our hearts, and you will begin to bring the opportunities away.

  418. But as those opportunities come, and that's why I love the prayers we'll be praying in since we started yesterday.

  419. This morning we spoke about you know seeing those things because it's possible to die in the midst of plenty when the vision is dead.

  420. So we're gonna be praying that God will help us to really see.

  421. But as this work begins to show up, let us engage it with Thanksgiving.

  422. You're lifting chase, do it with gratefulness.

  423. You're singing, you're pressing the key, do it with gratefulness.

  424. Oh, my cafe people, God bless you.

  425. Meeting all of those hot chocolate called chocolate, whatever it is, with thanksfulness, and it doesn't matter what life shows up or the way life shows up, we are grateful people.

  426. Amen.

  427. Amen.

  428. Church, a grateful person, you will be hard-pressed to be depressed.

  429. Because gratitude and depression cannot cohabit.

  430. That's why, even if I'm sleepy and you start playing music that resonates with my spirit, I will dance.

  431. I tell you, it is unconscious.

  432. Even if I don't want to dance, my body will move.

  433. Because I've sought myself to perpetual thanksgiving.

  434. It doesn't matter what outside looks like, it doesn't matter what the tree is sprouting, I would yet give him praise.

  435. I was talking to somebody on today is Sunday now, on Thursday.

  436. She got a very bad news, and she was saying, KDO, this one, this one, this one.

  437. I said, and the first thing I asked myself, God, where is the opportunity to thank you in this?

  438. A living dog is better than a dead lion.

  439. And I said that to her.

  440. I said, because you're still alive, there's opportunity to fix this.

  441. He says, I know you always find something to say.

  442. I said, I don't need to find it, it is there.

  443. Because our God is good.

  444. If you can hear my voice, God is good.

  445. I have been close to losing my sight.

  446. So when I open my eyes and I can see you and I'm dancing, you're wondering what is making her happy.

  447. Even the ability to see is a blessing.

  448. Amen.

  449. Be grateful.

  450. Be grateful.

  451. As a church, we have many, many, many, many, many, many reasons to be grateful.

  452. So we're gonna pray, we're gonna thank him, we're gonna rejoice.

  453. Hallelujah! Hallelujah.

  454. Even the fact that he's talking to you.

  455. Remember, we said that he had many servants, he called only ten.

  456. In fact, we need to talk about what happened to the remaining seven, because there were ten people, they gave ten, one one each.

  457. Maybe that's a topic for another day.

  458. But men and brethren, he called you, he chose you, he enlisted you into his army, and he said to you, Go walk, go occupy for me, because he's a God that rewards.

  459. Amen.

  460. Amen.

  461. Let's rise up.

  462. Thank you for joining us today.

  463. We pray this message didn't just speak to your mind but truly ministered to your heart.
