now I know how to pray now I know how to

pray like yeah okay I I I see you I see

you uh how you how many of you are

shopping online this year where the

online Shoppers they're going to send it

to you you're not going to a mall

they're going to send it to you

right we're we're now ordering pizza and

inviting all of our ups and and and and

Amazon drivers to the house because

they're getting very uh connected uh in

in all of that uh it's kind of the

Season where we are Christmas time time

is

crazy it's a crazy time of the year like

we got the shopping yes the schedule

like okay we got to do lunch with them

and dinner with them and and then we got

to get the gift order make sure it's

going to be here on time oh my God is

that the right size I don't know can I

return it like all those questions are

really important you got to figure into

the shipping is it going to be here is

it going to hit at the right time you

know uh travel are we going to be

traveling are we going to Grandma's

house we going to my dad's house like

all of that get the decorations up you

got to get the decorations up when do

you take them down but you got all of

this move the elf like you got all this

stuff going on right it just it just it

gets a little

bit it gets a little bit

crazy it gets a little bit

hazy kind it's kind of what life looks

like isn't it like during this time of

the year it's

like like you get hit with flurry of

stuff and you're just trying to make it

all fit in your world right and it's

like oh Lord help baby Jesus right there

because it's like it's it's it's it's

it's busy the truth is the truth is this

this this crazy season that we're in

right now is not really just a Christmas

season truth is your life is kind of

chaotic all the

time look at your neighbor tell him he's

talking about me right now he talking

about your your schedule

like like it's just running wide open

always something happening uh Christmas

we just add lights to your craziness is

all we've done that's all we've done

throw a candy cane on it but that's

that's how we're living right now life

is is crazy all the time and that's

exactly why Jesus

came he came because things are a little

bit

crazy Luke chapter

1 on Luke Chapter 2:14 is is a is a is

just such a

a iconic verse if I can call it that in

in in in the church and and and at this

time of the year we tell the Christmas

story and it's exciting and it's fun but

but this story is where you know really

kicks off I mean you got Mary and Joseph

I'll get into that minute but the Angels

step out and they cast the shepherds in

the field and and and and and they tell

the she this in Luke 2:14 everyone read

God and on on Earth to people who

enjoy and peace on Earth to people who

enjoy his favor peace on Earth to the

people not it's not to everybody it's

those who choose to

enjoy his favor

peace and favor are for those to those

experienced by those who have chosen to

receive Jesus it's not just a blanket

thing that it's just going to kind of

hit everybody it's available for

everybody right but but only those who's

who

engage this baby in a Manger are the

ones who are really going to experience

this favor and this piece in other words

he wants to replace your chaos with

Christ he wants to take you from

chaosmos to

Christmas like that that is the exchange

we're talking about in

but I could pull out about six Bible

doctrines theology that is packed inside

of this passage like it's speaking right

to these right to these things but but

you know that you Oh Holy

Night the stars are

brightly

shining it is the night

of Savior stop right

there it's it's a holy

night

because God is coming to Earth

right Oh Holy Night the stars are

brightly shining it is the night of our

dear savior's birth God wrapped in flesh

that's what made the night holy long lay

the world in sin and

error I used to think that was pinning I

never understood like Penning why why

are we Penning

pining stop you're going too fast long

lay the world in sin and error pining

but the world the world was eaten up

with sin and pining is a word one of

these These Old words it means there's

an ache there's an emptiness we're stuck

things aren't working I'm lost I'm

desperate if you want to go here there's

chaos long lay the world in sin and

chaos like it it sounds like the culture

we're living in today till he

appeared and the Soul felt its worth

appeared that your soul found purpose

till he appeared and my soul found its

worth it's not that you're worthless

it's that you just don't even know how

amazing you are until you Embrace who

Jesus is and then you come alive you

don't you don't even know you don't even

know would you turn to someone tell them

I'm all that baby I am all that just go

just admit it I'm all

that yes you are we know that we're

convinced about that

but you didn't know it till he

appeared and my soul felt its

worth your soul came alive purpose hit

I had my Encounter With Jesus I went

from being stuck and empty and dead to

Hope came alive that better days are

ahead it doesn't have to stay this way

my life can fully change a new mind a

weariness and then Jesus steps in and he

today's going to be a good day like it's

a brand new day yesterday and today are

different worlds it's not like it used

to be before I knew Jesus and now that I

know Jesus two different days come

completely no no if the truth were if

we're just going to speak the truth we

didn't even like you before

Jesus now you're you know yeah but but

but we we we before Jesus man you were

sketchy you were sketchy you were

sketchy but

now Jesus changes

everything how how do you overcome chaos

night there was nothing silent about it

up good in church don't we it wasn't no

are you kidding me it was messy it was

scary it was painful it was not silent

Joseph no wasn't me I didn't do this one

no you can't blame this one on

Night your life is always going to be be

a little

messy your life is going to be a little

bit

stressful your life is going to be

chaotic you got to stop being freaked

over the

chaos let me talk to you about

that there's a few reasons why Jesus

came that I want to throw out to you

today and how we move forward in this

and I want I want you to understand

number

one Jesus is with us in our

chaos this this this is this is so

important for you to understand he

didn't come and go oh don't touch

me Jesus Jesus came to get messy with

you right Jesus came to get your

reputation on him and his reputation on

you he's not afraid of that mess Jesus

Jesus was birthed into

chaos I I I I I just need to remind you

right here Jesus Jesus did not wait God

didn't wait to birth his son in a time

that everything was neat easy convenient

safe comfy on my pillow on the side

there was it it was it was a crazy

you've got to be kidding me a moment let

me just remind you Mary if you're going

to if you're going to birth the Son of

God into the Earth how about doing it

different than this Mary can you imagine

she's trying to explain a super natural

conception to her friends yeah Mary no

you had a a bad weekend with someone

said no I promise you I was at a prayer

meeting and this

happened

right Mary is now carrying this rep on

her no doubt let's talk people are

people folks started distancing

themselves from Mary Mary found herself

isolated because she's carrying this

promise people didn't understand how

she's talking and what was going on

inside of her that was a little bit

chaotic and then you got Joseph Joseph

who's trying to be the man but his

fiance just told him that she was at a

crazy prayer meeting and some things

happened to her and now he's struggling

with do I believe the story or not you

know all those conversations weren't

well God bless you no there was some

heated conversations between Joseph and

Mary and then you've got I mean the Son

of God coming to the Earth can we not

plan this better there's a census now

now everybody who was had to go back to

their town of origin so now Mary and

Joseph have to go from Nazareth all the

way back to Bethlehem let me just kind

of give you some perspective that's

about 75 miles took about four days on

the back of a donkey nine months

pregnant yeah can you imagine those

conversations I don't think I want to

you want to talk about bad timing and

inconvenience for the Son of God to show

up you can pick a better time for that

and then seriously seriously that nobody

called ahead to get a room waiting on

them they show up and now there's no

place for them to stay when they get

there this is the Son of God coming to

the Earth to change everything and

nobody in heaven could plan any better

than this now a Shepherd show up and an

angel speaks to them they all wet their

pants they're shocked they're freaked

out by what they' never seen an angel

show up in a field before but wh there

it is now you got wise men they're

traveling from partha that is about a

500 Mile Journey 50 to 60 days in

caravan they're coming and the reason

they're coming is I I see a star I see a

star let's go follow the star and so

you've got this going on and if that

weren't bad enough you got King Herod

who announces I'm killing all baby boys

2 years old and under and Mary and

Joseph goes oh great let's

go that's

ridiculous right all right that is

chaos that makes no

sense why would God schedule

that because if he's going to truly be

touched with the issues that you and I

deal with

you live in chaos so he arrived in

chaos I'm going to step into a world

that seems to be coming apart and makes

no sense and that will be my entry point

if it were me put him in a palace he's

the king of kings on the way in he's a

baby are you kidding me the Son of God

like how do you not have processions for

this Mary laid out on all these

mattresses and pillows everywhere no no

no no no no no it's a little bit

different Matthew 1: 23 tells us this

the Virgin will conceive and give birth

to a son and they will call him

Emmanuel which means God With Us Jesus

came to Earth through a door marked

chaos but that's the way I'm going to

enter I don't get a fast pass I'm going

to wait with you in

line I'm going to deal with this I don't

get a first class ticket I'm sitting

back in coach by the

bathroom I'm coming the way you do this

is how I'm not not the palace give me a

cave in other words here's what I'm

trying to tell you Jesus Is Not

Fragile Jesus Jesus isn't afraid of your

chaos Psalm 46 verse1 I love this

passage it says this God is our refuge

and strength always ready to help in

times of trouble he's not afraid of your

level of crazy some of y'all are really

outdoing other families I understand you

got some funk and the dysfunction that

is in full operation it's actually

impressive as to how crazy it is in your

house but Jesus is not afraid of your

house he can walk the hallways of your

home and breathe deep and love and

embrace and do things you would never

imagine because he is not fragile he can

handle these times he dealt with the

woman who was caught in adultery he ran

to her side he handled lepers he hung

out with the outcast he reached for the

sick he was not afraid it didn't have to

all look good he dove into places that

it did not look like he belonged and he

was right at home that's why the Bible

says he's a friend that will stick

closer than a brother chaos in life does

not mean you are wrong or alone it means

you're

breathing sometimes we try to avoid or

deny the chaos and act like we got it

all together and man we can dress it up

really good for about an hour and a half

on

Sunday and then we go back and it all

Breaks Loose

again some of us put when you drove on

the parking lot you just put the

argument on pause all

right let's just go praise the Lord amen

by the time you hit the car and another

thing while we're at

it you got crazy in your house like I

got it in my house yes you do it's it's

life and Jesus is not afraid of it

understand I want to repeat this chaos

in life does not mean you are wrong or

alone in fact if I'm just going to be

honest with you chaos increased for Mary

and Joseph because they said yes to the

plan of God

now now now let me help you do not use

that as an excuse well it's crazy just

because we're following Jesus well chaos

increased for Jonah because he was

running from the plan of God also so we

can't just write it off that chaos is

all because I love J well okay you kind

of crazy too so there's some situations

there but what I'm telling you is chaos

is is it's it's coming it doesn't matter

on our best days on our worst days

there's a reality that we deal with

there but in both situations God is with

with us you're never alone in your chaos

tell somebody beside you he's got you

boo he's got you boo he's got you and

everything's going to be

fine number

two Jesus strengthens us in our

chaos isn't that good

news no that's that's really good

news have you ever prayed for God to

stop a situation

make it stop snowing

now now no now stop stop stop stop stop

stop stop stop stop stop

stop and it just keeps on

snowing there there's there's some

things in life that don't go according

to our

plan I wanted it a different

way how how you know God doesn't always

remove the chaos

but when he doesn't remove it it's

because he's using

it it's never

wasted the frustration the questions the

tears the loneliness it's never wasted

it's strengthening you while it's

building his resume in your

life think about this Joseph in the Old

Testament not not Mary's Joe like Joseph

and his brothers sold him into slavery

and it looked bad but it only positioned

him to become the governor of Egypt

Joseph said you meant it for my good but

God turned it or you meant it for my bad

but God turned it for his good for your

good like God can spin the situation

around you understand Peter Peter was

trapped in a storm on a boat only to

have Jesus show up and show him that

with me you and I can walk on water

there's some things that you and I are

going through that we don't like that we

begin to discover who God is like we

never knew who he was before God is

dealing with your life God is working in

your life and God wants you to have

peace while you're in the chaos while

the chaos is happening you can still

have a peace that holds your heart a

rest that does not make sense things are

swirling here but I know everything is

going to be all right God knows how to

make it work for for you but we've got

to trust him in this Isaiah 41:10 says

Isaiah 41:10

this don't be afraid for I am with you

don't be discouraged for I am your God I

will strengthen you and help you I will

hold you up with my Victorious

right in my life God used a radical

betrayal of somebody who undercut me

that I never thought I would go through

just to show me he used it to show me

what kind of comforter he actually is

because what broke my heart somehow God

held the pieces together he used a

horrible Financial season in mine and

Cindy's life you've heard us tell the

story where we used to sit outside of a

Papa John's was it Papa

John's yeah and and we would wait for

some somebody for them to mess up an

order that no one wanted and they would

come out and they would sell us the

pizza at a discounted price and we just

prayed that it didn't have a bunch of

junk on it when we got it like oh God

don't let this have anchovies and just

please keep the pineapple off this time

like like we just we just wanted up

could we just Lord could someone just

mess up a cheese pizza could we just get

a cheese pizza with pepperoni and

mushroom just messed up like there was

but but we went through that Financial

season where it was really tight only

for God to show us that I'm truly your

provider and if I got you through that I

can take you through things later on it

was that moment that broke our heart

where we discovered who he really was I

I didn't realize I didn't realize how

much of a protector he was until I

realized there was some things I wanted

that I didn't get that looking back on

it I'm glad I did not get what I wanted

anybody glad for who you did not

marry like like he's a protector he's

covering your life I didn't like the

situation I didn't like it when I was

going through it but now when life gets

chaotic for me My Hope hope keeps

smiling my peace is my anchor and my

faith is now educated and my joy is my

strength because I've been through some

stuff get around someone who's been

through some stuff and they don't freak

out like it's their very first storm

I've been there done that and I've

proven that God is good and he's in it

with me so number one just just I'm done

with this one Jesus was born to get in

the chaos with you number two Jesus was

born to strengthen you in the chaos

number three Jesus was born to defeat

your

chaos for you to overcome it not to live

under it but to be stronger than the

circumstances in your

life you know what's crazy about that

Joseph Mary and baby Jesus by the way

that is the whitest family I've ever

seen in my life they are pasty that's

all I got to say

but with all that going on right there

you know what's

unaffected Mary Joseph and Jesus are not

budging let it snow let it snow let it

snow oh the weather outside is fr didn't

know how spiritual that song was did you

this is what happens when we find that

place of resting I'm done I'm done I'm

done I'm done John

16:33 here on Earth this is Jesus

talking here on Earth you will have many

trials and Sorrows but take heart

because I have overcome the

world chaos in life is not

optional freaking out is

you don't have to lose your mind in

this one of my favorite songs when I was

growing up was a freak out that you do

not have to freak out in

life some of y'all know what I'm talking

about it's all

good my mom walked in is that what you

want to do do you want to freak out

like here here's what I'm I'm I just got

to tell you listen life is tough on on

everybody the person you're looking at

thinking man I I love to trade lives

with them be really careful what you're

talking about you don't know what some

folks have endured what they're going

through now what they came through what

they're headed into you don't even

understand and here's what I have

learned that the peace of God that

passes all understanding will guard your

hearts and your minds when you're

resting in him and you can be in the

storm but the storm not be in you that

I'm standing strong and I know this too

shall pass just give it a moment because

one of the fruit of the spirit is

patience and I and you have the ability

to outlast anything hell can throw at us

just here's your announcement

hold hold hold the Bible says that Jesus

is the anchor for our soul he holds us

when I want to go crazy when my mind my

will my emotions are going nuts and I

want to get on Facebook and tell them a

thing or two and I want to post that

picture on Instagram and when I want to

go there hold hold and it's in those

moments that I realize that the the

stuff is not in me it's around me so I

can't react to everything no this too

shall pass and oh look at that the

storms

settle and all is good in the world

you're going to out last this because

Jesus is greater than any chaos in your

life and that's why as long as he's in

it you're going to be all right his

power to overcome it is available for

you 1 Corinthians

1 Corinthians 15:57

15:57 says this thank God that he gives

us the victory through our Lord Jesus

means it's not welcome inside of me

situations stay out there because he's

already occupied this place and

everything is going to be all right

him I want to very simply just invite

Jesus to step into my life I need him in

my snow

globe it's crazy inside here but I need

him to settle my heart and know that

he's for me he's with me his power his

ability to overcome to withstand to

outlast to make this stuff work for my

good my family is going through hell

right now I got a bad

diagnosis I got a court situation coming

up things are not good in this

relationship business I need God to give

me peace because of this business

whatever his situation is ladies and

gentlemen he's not afraid of your

craziness he's not afraid of your chaos

he'll step in he is Emmanuel God With

You not just for you with you that's a

GameChanger if you heard it Daniel say

God I need Jesus to step up large in my

life on the count of three just throw

your hands in the air one two 3 where

are you oh yeah oh my goodness yes you

can take that hand down I want everyone

just to pray this prayer with me Jesus

Come into my life my life take control

take control I need your peace need

peace I need your strength ieng I need

your wisdom I need your wisd but first I

to confess you conf as Lord and Savior

Lord forgive me change me rework me

rework take all of me take all of as I

chaos into

Christmas in Jesus name father I pray

for my friends who just prayed that

prayer today those who were in a

struggle those who did not know you

before had not accept you but they did

this morning morning I pray that heaven

would break loose in their life they

would experience something in you they

never thought possible and for my

friends who raised their hand that are

just going through a storm but they're

asking for your presence and your

activity and your peace I pray God that

they would experience you over these

next several days that there would be a

joy in the midst of the storm that there

would be a peace despite what the chaos

looks like that you would settle our

hearts settle their minds and let them

find a firm foundation in the middle of

craziness that you will bring them

through the other side we look to you as

the author and the finisher of every

aspect of our faith oh it is a holy

night yes it is and we look to you

because of this day that we're in and

we're grateful that you don't run from

our mess but you run to our mess so step

in live in our lives direct leading

guide we give you thanks for all of this

today and the peace you brought to us

in Christmas in Jesus name everybody
