Christmas none of us are living a

conflict free fre life that is not

possible I know we all try to avoid the

conflict we try to back up on the chaos

we try to stiff arm all that stuff but

it's it's just not possible life brings

the unexpected life brings the undesired

you have chaos in your life how many of

you have a person in your

life you have chaos in your life just

just how you all are married do not look

at your spouse look this way look this

way how you have a job you you got a job

okay there you go anybody got kids

anybody live in America okay I mean

you've got chaos anybody have a mirror

anybody have a mirror you have chaos in

your life I'm just telling you like like

there's there's challenges I I I I

create my own challenges

sometimes and I create a bunch of mess

in my life I stir things up and I found

out a long time ago I need Jesus

y'all to turn my

chaosmos into

Christmas Luke 2: 11 is a verse that is

really highlighted at this time of the

year and if you're looking for some some

up but Luke 2: 11 you've got you've got

this big announcement being made by the

by the angel that speaks and is very

pertinent to where we are today and here

here's what here's what the the Bible

says in fact read it with me out loud

we go one two three For unto you is Born

This Day in the city of David a savior

who is Christ the lord I I need to make

an announcement that might shock some of

you Christ is not Jesus his last

name some of y'all are highly

disappointed right now I just messed up

all of Christmas for you now if if if if

we were going to look at Jesus's last

name how Jesus was referred to in his

day he would be called Yeshua bar

Joseph bar means son of Joseph Yeshua

Jesus Son of Joseph that would have been

how he was referred to in in in in in

Jesus day as he was growing up but but

we have we have him called

Christ For unto you was born this day in

the city of David a savior who is Christ

the Lord Christ in this language is

Christos and it comes from that it it

it's it's a new testament term in the

Greek that comes from an Old Testament

language and title called

mashiach and mesia means

Messiah literally Christ

Christos is referring to Messiah and the

reason that one was the Messiah is

because they were watch this the

anointed

one which is literally what Christ means

the anointed

one Jesus the anointed one For unto you

is bornn this day in the city of David a

savior who is the anointed

one of the Lord that's who Jesus was

Jesus the anointed one anointing what

does that word mean growing up in church

all my life man we heard the anointing

preach we we threw that word around like

we all understood what it

meant we just kind of used it just

almost just just real quickly but but if

we're just going to kind of give some

perspective to it it's it's something

that is or someone that is set apart and

consecrated by God endowed with a

special power ability or purpose in fact

we see people through the Bible that

were considered anointed uh kings were

anointed prophets were anointed uh

people held anointings in the Bible and

but all of those anointings were shadows

and pictures and pointing to Jesus who

would be the anointed one

he wasn't just another anointed one he

was the anointed one he would be the one

who would change everything so why does

the title of

Christ matter we we drop this in

christmus why does that matter why why

highlight that because

Christ not his last name his title it

points to the the purpose Mission and

power that he came with for you and

me we talked last week how Jesus was he

was born into a chaotic situation he

came into chaos it's almost like chaos

was set up waiting on him because he

knew your life was full of chaos he came

in chaos go listen to the podcast from

last week I'm not going to repeat all

that but but I I want to bring a

perspective up for you uh about this

title of who he is to show us the

picture as to what he did why he came

Luke 19:10 tells us this for the son of

Luke 19:10

man came to seek and to

save that which was lost now now

Scholars will go back and forth on on

whether this word that should be there

or not and who is that referring to but

I will tell you this there's a lot of

scholarship that points and shows us

that he didn't say for those he didn't

just come to seek and save those who

were lost but that wh which was lost

which is a bigger perspective than just

those so what would what would Jesus be

coming to seek and to save if he's

seeking that instead of those explain

that to me well I would have to take you

back because Jesus came because Adam and

Eve screwed this thing up in the garden

right and have you know if you'd have

been here you and I probably would have

screwed things up also right I mean

there we go so I can't be too to mad at

them because they're that's my mom and

dad so uh there you have it it's in the

family but I'm just saying Adam and Eve

blew it in the garden God had set up

Paradise for them and he said look y'all

have it out wear it out it's going to be

amazing just leave this alone and of

course it's the one thing you're not

supposed to do you might notice that

when someone tells you not to do

something that's the thing you want to

do that's why your kids are so screwed

up just like you they're just like you

they're just like you that little

rebellious nature you can eat anything

here just don't touch

that if you hadn't have said anything I

wouldn't worried about it you put the

you put the sign up wet paint don't

touch just got to get my finger dirty

like what what is it about that you put

a speed limit

up no

no Adam and

Eve Adam and Eve when they Sinn they

lost three things in the garden

they lost their intimacy with

God they lost their

identity in who he made them to be and

they lost their

influence their

power when they sinned and went sideways

in the garden they lost all three their

intimacy with God which is on Full

display today because today we worship

everything but God

and everyone but

God their

identity they ran and hid they lost

their confidence they lost their

security they lost their strength they

lost their identity now we see in our

culture people don't know who they are

so they got three and four social media

profiles because they just want to be

another person another version of who

they are they're they're trying to

self-identify and and reclaim the people

are all over the place today they're

lost do I matter do I have a purpose

purpose there's no

identity and their

influence because they lost spiritual

influence they exert abuse on other

people and they damage and they hurt

trying to climb a ladder that doesn't

even exist literally we are dealing with

issues today that happened in the

garden and Jesus says I came to seek and

to save all that I came to bring all

that back under under the banner of God

that you don't have to live tore up in

your intimacy you can know God you can

know who you are you're identity where

you're not seeking people to see if

you're okay I'm already good I hope you

like me but if you don't I'm good and

I'm just going to give and you can just

walk like these kids up here like it or

not I'm want to dance my dance like like

it's it's good to have that kind of

confidence on the inside and then to

know that You' got influence that

through Christ his power is in me his

authority is in me and I can live my

life strong that's exactly what Jesus

came yes he came to restore people back

to God but when we come back to God we

discover identity we regain our

influence and life gets better when we

do it his way sir he had to come because

chaos was

everywhere Jesus was born into our chaos

to restore unity and to restore order

between God and man but now watch this

here this is different here he didn't

just just come to restore relationship

he came to bring us back into

alignment anybody ever had your car out

of

alignment you driving down the road and

your car is pulling towards the ditch

all by itself or it's pulling towards

oncoming traffic like you got to fight

the wheel right God says your your life

naturally swerves towards ditches you

are attracted to headon collisions in

life and I want to I want to fix the

alignment of your life that it's going

to take some of the struggle out of your

life so that you can enjoy this ride

Jesus's

mission was to restore man's peace with

God but watch this but in order to do

that oh some of y'all aren't going to

like this oh yeah you got to come back

next week all right it'll be better next

week I promise

you but in order to restore that and to

fulfill that mission he had to create

conflict

well where's the peace we're going to

talk about

that Matthew chap 10:34 a verse nobody

should read during

Christmas some of y'all will get that

later that's okay here here's here's

what it says read it don't think I came

to bring peace to the earth I came to

bring trouble not peace thanks for

coming have a great day let your

shopping be merry amen

I didn't come to bring peace but now

wait a minute peace on Earth Good Will

towards all men but Jesus said yeah yeah

I I get that but I didn't come to bring

peace I came to bring

trouble it's good trouble but it's

trouble this is what he did I'm I'm

going to

confront your

chaos I'm going to confront your chaos

so you can actually

experience real peace I I need I need to

present something that's a solution to

the issues the things that you think

you've got your hands on that are really

helping your life are wrecking your life

you're protecting and holding on to

stuff that's gutting your joy that's you

you you're leaking life everywhere and

you think you're together and you think

everybody else is the problem and you

can't figure out why is it not working I

should be further down the road than

this so Jesus shows up and he says I'm

going to I'm going to show you who I am

I'm going to confront some things in

your life so he tells us these things

like I am the door why because you need

to leave this season and get to a new

season in your life he he says things

like I'm the light of the world why

because you living in darkness right now

I know you think you partying living

your best life you can't even see right

now he says I am the bread of life why

cuz you're starving to death and when

you're starving you'll eat anything and

just because it's available doesn't mean

it's good for you you better be careful

who you hang with you better be careful

what you put your hands on oh when

you're seeking something that you don't

have you'll go for stuff that you never

should he said I am the Good Shepherd

because you've been lost and all alone

and people are leading you astray but

I'm your God I am the Lamb of God why

you need someone to heal the

relationship between heaven and you and

put life back together Jesus came Rel

revealing I'm all of these things

because you need all of these things in

your life and every one of them was

confronting

chaos confronting

disorder confronting stuff that just

wasn't aligning can anybody in the room

with me admit that we

present a side of us that isn't the

reality of who we are like we present

better than we actually are now if the

person beside you did not raise their

hand they really have issues because

they can't even admit that they're like

that they're human like the rest of

us Jesus came starting some good trouble

watch this watch this watch this watch

this the

church Free Life Chapel we

fail if we only give

comfort and we don't help people build

peace

how many know sometimes your kids need

to be comforted they fell down hit their

foot you know oh my oh come here come

here come here come here and then

sometimes they do

things and you don't need any comforting

right now you need some correction we

need to read and and and and there is

proper parenting will cause discomfort

when done right because I love you we

going to we're going to correct

something course correction here we go

that's what we do the church fails If

all we're doing is offering Comfort back

years ago I I I was doing something

ridiculous stupid and I broke my

rist I don't recommend it for anybody I

it it it wasn't fun uh I broke my wrist

and uh and so I had to like I I I was I

broke it in Tennessee I'm coming back to

Florida and when I get back the next I

broke it over the weekend I get back

I've got it all wrapped up I went to the

emergency room they looked at yeah it's

broke and so I the the doctor said um

yeah you have to come back in about a

week and a half I need all that swelling

to go down before we can do anything

with it I said do anything with

it like can't you just kind of put

something on that thing and you kiss it

and then then it let it he said no the

way you broke it we're going to have to

set that thing I said

splain he said it's out of place we got

to put it back in

place but I need the swelling to go down

before we can get it set and then we'll

wrap it up and kiss it and give you a

lollipop and send you

home I still don't remember the lollipop

I still don't remember the lollipop to

this day all I know is when I was in

that office and I'm sitting there on

that table and he has me put my elbow on

the table I'm sitting on the table

beside a wall the wall right here Cindy

is sitting right there wall is beside me

elbow here he grabs my hand with one

grabs my hand with his hand and he

reaches down and he puts his other hand

right here and I'm looking at him like

Jesus Jesus Jesus Jesus he said he said

pastor on the count of three we're going

to go we're going to get this thing back

in place and I oh what does he one two

he

lied cuz when he got to two my feet were

climbing up that wall Jesus I mean I'm

oh you don't

understand and after it got done I

should have known there was something

wrong when he had my hand and he he

takes this position

here he got done he said hold it right

there like hold oh my what hold what he

we got to get x-rays now thankfully it

took on the first he said it's in place

let's let's cast it up and then and yeah

that

part he didn't he didn't just make me

feel good about my busted

situation he said you're broken I I'll

give you some morphine and a

lollipop as long as as long as you're

comforted that's all that matters ladies

and gentlemen that's not all that

matters cuz it's possible for someone to

comfort you when they should correct

you right true love true kindness is

clarity about my

situation love me enough to give me a

truth that will show me how to get out

of this pain in my life don't make me

try to feel good about it show me the

way out of it this is why the Bible

Jesus said I didn't come to bring

comfort and all that p no no no I came

to cause trouble what kind of trouble

trouble on purpose it is a truth in love

that's going to confront your situation

and and cause you bring you to a point

of challenge like what will I do now

that I realize there's another way a

better way a higher way to live my life

you see it's really tough because most

people confuse comfort with peace and

the two are not the same Comfort is

circumstantial peace is when I am fixed

in my heart and my mind Comfort is

feeling driven but peace is truth driven

comfort uses avoidance and excuses peace

uses seeks alignment and wholeness

Comfort it seeks support and celebration

peace seeks truth and

change Jesus says I'm coming to bring

some peace but you may not like it while

I'm getting the broken situation

set it's going to cause more pain than

what you want initially but you'll be

able to use it long long term after I

get done putting it together you see

peace is not the absence of conflict but

the presence of

Hope peace doesn't mean everything is

good in my

life I can have a peace and be toore up

from the floor up with situations in my

world as long as the situation that's

tore up is outside of me and not inside

of me I'll be just fine I can have a

storm on the outside

all the sound guys just gasp right

there I can have the storm on the

outside but as long as I can just Stand

My Ground and let it snow and let it

rain and let the storm hit all around me

but know that my feet are on a good

foundation that everything in here is

going to be all right that's what

allowed the Apostle Paul to be locked up

in prison and keep singing his songs

that's what what allowed Daniel to be in

a lion's den but know that God is good

and keep trusting him that's what

allowed Shadrach Meshach and Abednego to

walk through a fiery furnace knowing in

here everything is going to be all right

I have a hope I have a peace I have

something that violates that's bigger

here than all the situations out here

and you and I need to live our lives

with that hope that peace Romans 15:13

Romans 15:13

check this out here's what it says May

the god of Hope fill you with all joy

and peace as you trust in him so that

you may overflow with hope by the power

of the Holy Spirit he's the god of hope

so it's our job to get your hopes up yes

it is it's our job to get your eyes off

the circumstance and back on God and

when that happens all of a sudden joy

and peace rushes in why because it shows

you that just because things are rough

now doesn't mean it's over it's not the

final verdict in your life get your eyes

down the road and I serve a God who is

greater I serve a God who is Kinder I

serve a God who is all powerful all

knowing and knows my life and he's able

to do exceeding abundantly above so it

might be bad right now but just keep

watching because God's about to bust a

move in my life and everything is going

to be all right

this is the

peace Jesus brought get the things

aligned inside with God come into order

with him and the moment you do you can

only do that when you submit to his life

when you surrender to his way and now

his word becomes your focus his word

becomes the thing you're fixed on and

once his word the unmovable unshakable

reality of God hits your life and God's

word word becomes more truthful than

what you feel in your circumstances you

can stand your ground I don't like what

they said and I don't like what's going

on but God is good and I'm going to wipe

tears and Stand My Ground because any

moment now God's bringing me through

that ladies and gentlemen is the peace

Jesus came to give us that in the midst

of chaos you can stand your ground and

know I'm coming through everything is

going to be fine

those people are some strong

people so how do you make it through a

chaotic

world you make it through chaos with a

hope that produces

peace in God you see Jesus has the power

to change

everything that's why his title is

Christos the anointed

one a power and authority and ability

that supersedes anything you've ever

seen or known that's why Isaiah 9:6

Isaiah 9:6

calls him the Prince of Peace Prince is

a is a is a title of authority like he

ain't just a peaceful guy he's the ruler

The Authority the Prince of Peace I own

this like my house I'm I'm the one who

disseminates he's the Prince of Peace

and because of that we see what he does

why Jesus was coming in fact Isaiah 61

tells us when the Messiah when Christos

comes here's what his power will do

Isaiah 61 says this he will rebuild the

ruins of Our Lives he will trade his

Beauty for our ashes he will trade his

joy for our grief he will trade his

celebration for our despair as Isaiah 53

comes along speaking of the Messiah of

Christos the anointed one and his

anointing he will be wounded for chaos

of our Rebellion he will be bruised for

the chaos of your sin and failure he

will pay the penalty for the chaotic

lives we've chosen to live he will be

beaten for our sickness and for our

disease and if the chaos was wasn't

crazy enough Christmas steps in Jesus

steps in the anoint Ed one steps in and

2 Corinthians 4 Paul puts it this way

because the Messiah because Christos

came we get troubled but we're never

crushed we get frustrated but we never

quit we get persecuted but we're never

alone we get knocked down but never

knocked out ladies and gentlemen peace

rules and Reigns in our hearts because

Jesus the Christ the anointed one showed

up and confronted us and brought us into

alignment and we get to live with this

today would you turn to someone tell

them I'm still here I'm still here I'm

still

here turn back and tell them I don't tap

out don't tap out don't tap out whatever

you do whatever you do peace will hold

you watch watch watch peace is one of

the fruit of the spirit how do you know

you're doing well when you've got a

peace that doesn't make sense the Bible

calls it a peace that passes all

understanding I should have lost my mind

up in here up but you're still here

right now and you're still smiling right

now and you're still and people don't

understand how what are you drinking

what you smoking you got your 420 down

like what in the world is happening no

no no no I I'm looking to one who is

greater this is temporary he is eternal

that's circumstantial my eyes and my

heart are fixed on him let life come let

the wind blow my God is holding

me this is what the Prince of Peace he

came to violate your situation he came

to turn it around that's why he doesn't

come and just rescue you out of it he

allows you to get in it so you and he

together can bring peace in the midst of

a storm so when the wind blows stand up

and talk back to it I'm not living this

way it's got to change to match the

promise that I have from my God the

anointed one and his anointing is alive

in my life and my best days are on the

way

oh when you know this you understand no

more chaosmos only Christmas in my life

that's how I'm living for the rest of my

life life is

chaos but

Jesus is our peace yes

sir you need peace at 15 years old

today yes

sir yes

sir all the people in My

Generation don't have a clue what it is

to be 15 years old

today it's a different

world if you're

single you better get some peace in your

heart you will reach for stuff that you

will regret for the rest of your

life I know she looked good but it

wasn't all

that if you're married never mind never

mind never mind let's just

let me let me finish with

this your life needs peace in three

areas real quickly this is why Jesus

came you need spiritual

peace you need to restore your heart

back to God the the the the separation

of you and God that's what's causing the

chaos the darkness the mess Jesus came

to restore us back to God Romans chap 5

verse1 says this read it with me we have

peace with God because of what Jesus

Christ Our Lord has done for us

this is why he came to seek and to save

that yeah this is a part of that Oneness

with God Peace So number one spiritual

peace number two Jesus came to restore

emotional

peace oh he's concerned about your

emotions he concerned about how you

think what you feel in life and when it

sucks that's not okay for him when you

feel alone and broken and no one

understands that's not all right

right he rushes to you he's there

everyone walks out he steps

in he's most wonderful at stepping into

situations that nobody wants to be a

part of he's not afraid of your mess

Colossians chapter 3 verse 15 says this

Colossians 3:15

Let the Peace of Christ be in control in

your

heart the voices from your past have got

to get quiet yeah the reputation that

you're trying to outlive and run from

Let It

Go but watch this when we live in

violation to God's word and God's will

you know what happens we have conflict

in

here the worst conflict you'll ever have

is not outside but

inside you can leave them but you can't

leave

you and when you lay down in bed at

night the thoughts that you

think and the desires of your heart and

the decisions you're

making are they

aligned with God his plan his word his

will or am I opposing God

himself and wonder why life isn't

working am I pushing back am I stiff

arming God

and then wonder why he's not close to

me you see emotional healing emotional

restoration emotional peace with self

happens whenever we sett in and say yes

to him and when we say yes to him and

just surrender anxiety leaves guilt

leaves fear leaves anger begins to leave

narcissism it's all about me all about

me me me me I I I look at me look at all

of that stuff it just

dissipates in other words in order to

have emotional peace we've got to live

all the Bible just not our favorite

parts of

it it's not just what's highlighted it's

the other parts too you see we highlight

what brings us

comfort and we skip over what gives us

peace to find

Comfort but Jesus says no the other

parts are important too cuz this will

align your life for peace so you can

experience my comfort yes Comfort is

important you and I need comfort of

course we do yes we do but God help us

if we ever get Comfort when we truly

need

peace the third

area spiritual peace emotional peace and

relational peace yeah the Bible actually

tells us in Hebrews 12:14 this is a

Hebrews 12:14

tough one swallow hard and read it out

loud work at living in peace with with

everyone who did your mind just run to

Who did your mind just run to like them

who who was that who was that like you

don't even understand no Jesus does

Jesus does but notice the first word

work work work work

work you going have to work this thing

it ain't going to be easy somebody got

to work on this that's why Matthew Jesus

was preaching he said blessed are the

peacemakers you got to make it it ain't

just showing up

no one's going to just Amazon you a

surprise gift of Peace it don't work

that way somebody's got to be the adult

in the room someone's got to show up and

say I've got enough peace for me and you

too I'm working on this we're going to

restore this I'm more adult than this

I'm bigger than I used to be I'm

emotionally at ease I've got Oneness

with God that means I got enough that I

can give you to and understand this when

you realize how much chaos you deal with

in your life and you realize that others

are dealing with the same chaos you

are it kind of reminds us we all need

Jesus I you know in my estimation people

at DMV need a little bit more

just chaos is a part of

life Jesus is

too chaos doesn't have to run it Jesus

will Jesus is going to bring corre

Direction in the middle of comfort so

that you can live with

peace stop

excusing and pushing back on things you

don't

like stop seeking Comfort instead of

growth let's move our life forward

that's why Jesus came he came to turn

our chaos into Christmas would you

please stand to your feet

when I was in

college I had a

Toyota it was a little hatchback it was

the

ugliest gold/ yellow like I don't even

know what color you would call it puke I

it it was the it was the it was the it

was the ugliest colored Toyota ver

hatchback hatchback nothing sexy about a

hatchback while you're in college no I

mean it was just it was just bad and but

you know what I had Wheels I had wheels

so thank you very much and I was giving

people rides so thank you only problem

was one day the starter went

out and back in those days we had these

things

called

manual they had this things called

clutches y'all don't even know what that

is today you just turn the key and just

go no no no back in the day it took a

college degree to learn how to drive a

car you had to push the clutch

in put it in first gear simultaneously

see that right there that threw half

y'all off

simultaneously push the gas pedal while

you're letting off the clutch and you

got to do it well if not you'll get

whiplashed you'll be going to the

chiropractor like y y'all know what I'm

talking about y'all been

there started when I I had to I had to

use my I had to pop the clutch to get my

car going

and so I was always parking on

Hills I'm looking for a hill I might

have to walk three blocks but that's

where the hill

is and I popped that clutch for probably

six months seven months I was popping

clutches Come Rain Come Shine pop that

clutch thank you Lord thank you I

thought I thought I was getting by with

it when I learned to pop the

clutch until it got really old really

quick and I realized I was tearing my

car up yes you see eventually we all

reach places that we stop putting

Band-Aids on tore up

situations and it's time to stop popping

the clutch on your

marriage it's time it's time to stop

always just looking for a hill to just

to get things going because whenever you

get the right pieces in play Life works

exactly how it's supposed

to God will bring some rest back to your

life but first you and I have to be

confronted with I I have to admit the

chaos before I can even make room for

God in my life I need peace cuz I ain't

got it and I'm saying yes to him not we

we don't live perfect I just live in

Pursuit and let him keep working this

out I want us to pray today let's do

this father we admit that we need you

today we admit the chaos is real in our

life it's crazy things get tore up and

we're

just we're we're we're living just

popping clutches in our life and this is

not the way it was supposed to be it's

supposed to be smoother stronger better

more reliable getting through

situations today God we've got turmoil

all around us but it's the turmoil

that's in us it's the chaos in us that

you came to deal with you are the Prince

of Peace you are the one that heals it

all you give us a hope that let us see

beyond where we are to turn our eyes

back on you that we're not looking at

circumstances but we're facing you today

God I pray that you would get the

attention of all of my friends in this

room all my brothers at pkci right now

who are in a difficult scenario in their

head their heart their life God would

you give them a peace right there where

they are remind them you love them and

you're with them and it's not over and

the same peace on the outside is the

same peace on the inside that it's

possible to have more peace at pyi than

it is on the nicest island in the world

because as long as you are ruling and

reigning in our heart we're going to be

fine all is good God today I pray the

chaos out of people's lives and I pray

you would not just Comfort us but you

would bring a peace that would confront

us and today help us to realize that we

must turn it all over to you that we can

experience the hope the peace the joy

that only you can give thank you for

telling us the truth thank you for not

leaving us in and a lie thank you for

leading us forward and not walking

around us thank you for your conviction

thank you for the challenge thank you

for the sacrifice and the love we look

to you we call on you we need you

today would you take about 20 seconds 30

seconds in this room and just declare to

him God I need you in my life today I'm

surrendering my life to you I'm giving

it all I want you to step in and remove

the chaos I want your peace to rule and

reign in my

heart let that peace pass all

understanding doesn't make sense why I'm

calm in this but because of you because

of your hope I know all is going to be

okay be with my friends and affirm that

I pray today especially in this

Christmas season thank you Jesus Christ

for coming to this earth in Jesus name

amen amen amen if you receive that today
