Christmas is like at your house but

Christmas is

highly

organized at our

house uh when when you have when you

have the matriarch of the

family who runs with a extra special

dose of OCD just a just a little extra

special OCD I think everyone needs a

touch of OCD I think OCD but but she boy

she's gifted with OCD and and and and

that gifting is next level our fath

family the way she has it and and quite

honestly uh we laugh about it but we are

also grateful for it because check this

out um everybody in our family everyone

has their own assigned wrapping

paper how many y'all do that anybody

else say the fact look y'all OCD

everywhere you know they have medication

for all this right they do have

medication for all this no kid watch

watch like okay so I have my paper

anything wrapped in something that has a

a a deer on it that's Scots uh Caleb has

his Liz has hers Cindy has hers Malachi

toah they have everything but but you

don't even have to find a name on it

doesn't need to be any name because you

know that paper that paper belongs to so

and and and that's just kind of how it

rolls that that that paper is going to

be there so we're we're that's how we

roll and and and so we distribute the

gifts based on the paper it's kind of

fun but has

anybody has anybody ever identified

somebody in your family that when

they're opening their gift they get on

your nerves yes like when when when they

open the gift there's like a few

different kinds of gift

openers H how many of you are that are

that person when they put a Christmas

gift in your hand you just rip the thing

to Pieces you're just tearing paper off

and you're just going at it like it's

just a flurry okay I'm loving all y'all

I love all y'all I'm with you okay you

you you got those people and then you've

got those you got another another group

of people that they open it they're just

they're just not real fast or excited

about it it's like they just tear hey

did I tell you all what happened last

week and like they're just they're just

working their way through the paper like

Easter is coming like it's getting

really close like

that and then there's there's a third

group of people and they do make

medication for these people too I'm just

saying but my my dad is one of these

people love my dad love my dad got on

our nerves growing up when it came time

to open gifts cuz we would put a gift in

his hand and my dad would go here's the

well my goodness who got this for

me and so he wants to pick it

up

well well that's from

Scott did you get this from me

son well

then he would reach in his

pocket and pull out his little pocket

knife proceed to look at it and make

sure he pulled out the right

blade take the Christmas

gift and start slicing at the

tape like the guy was performing heart

surgery on this gift like it's just

these little Precision Cuts and we're

all looking at him I now at the like I'm

drinking coffee I'm not chewing on my

coffee mug like would you please get

this give and he we're not saving the

paper throw it rip it and and it's

notorious he would do it knowing it was

on all of our kids' nerves that we would

just all of a sudden attack his gift rip

the paper off and then go from there he

loved just slowing the whole process I

medication they they make medication for

that here's the

deal the paper the paper is not

important the paper is the cheapest

thing in fact it's just

trash I don't know if you keep the paper

at your house don't tell me if you do

God bless you at our house we throw that

stuff away as soon as it's off man it's

in pieces it's shredded everywhere just

bag it up and throw it away there's

nothing

special in it's just

paper but what it's doing is we wrap

that gift and the paper

conceals it

hides what's valuable right it's so

close but I can't tell what it is it's

right there but I'm I can't fully get

into it because I can't see it it could

be the thing that you've wanted for

years and finally he listened to you

y'all pray for your

boy and and they got it and they wrapped

it and you're walking by it it's under

the tree and you glance at it and you're

like yeah whatever but if you only knew

what was there you would be dancing as

you went by this thing and it's so close

but yet so far because it's not

recognized because of the wrapping

because of the

paper it's it's much like the story that

quite honestly churches Christians

around the world are really recognizing

and reading today where the Angels Came

and made this big declaration Jesus has

come Jesus is born Jesus is here what

the Angels actually are doing is they

are unwrapping and presenting Jesus to

the world he has been concealed for a

long time and now he's here in fact I

want to I want to take you and just kind

of walk you through and show you what

this is uh in the Bible uh Luke chap 2

is where we find this the again let me

set it up for you Gabriel shows up he's

got his all of his posy with him and

they're making these big declarations

can you and and shepherds are in the

field they're watching sheep B and they

got all this going on and then all of a

sudden boom here it appears and man all

this is going on and and they're they're

witnessing they never seen anything like

this before it we sit in the church

today and we hear this story we go oh

yeah really cool

but ladies and gentlemen if if like 40

Angels popped out of a Poke County sky

and started talking to you it would not

be oh yeah really cool you'd be what the

you'd hit the ground like they did there

was nothing normal nothing natural about

this how many you think it would have

been really weird for all of that to

happen and the angels go that was so

cool man that's that's cool and then

just get back to life no there was

something that happened that rock their

world and what rock their world gives

actually a picture and a message to you

and I there's three things that happened

to these Shepherds that I didn't see I

didn't recognize until Friday as I was

reading this story again and it just hit

me different and I want to share it with

you the angel is making this

announcement and the first thing that

happened is when we when the Angel's

talking to the Shepherds the angel is

giving it doesn't sound sexy but just

hang with me information

information but it's it's good news

information Luke 2: 11 and 12 Watch what

it says here look at this today in the

town of David a savior has been born to

you he is the Messiah the Lord read this

this will be no no no no no no no no no

no no your Christmas morning voice your

your eight-year-old excited Christmas

morning voice are you ready here we go 1

2 3 this will be a sign to you you will

find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying

in them the Shepherds were shook come on

now all of the they're like what is

going on what is happening they're

hearing this information information

information about Jesus the Messiah the

savior of the world is born in Bethlehem

you see this they the angel didn't have

to explain who Jesus was they knew who

he was because it had been spoken of for

centuries leading up to this time and

every one of these Shepherds were raised

hearing the Prophecies of Jesus of the

Messiah of the king of kings that would

be born to Israel this actually started

watch this y'all this started in Genesis

chapter 3:1 15 is the first mention that

a messiah is going to come Genesis 3 why

that that's kind of early isn't it it's

it's just right after Adam and Eve

screwed up bit the Apple it might have a

little concern about the fact that your

Apple phone's got that little anyway

they bit the

Apple they blew it there's a separation

from God and God says here's how I'm

going to rectify

this the seed of the

woman she will have a child and the

enemy will bruise his heel but his heel

will crush the head of the enemy this

was a prophecy given in Genesis 3:15

Genesis 3:15

speaking of Jesus that there would be a

woman who would have a

child and that that child would the

enemy would bruise his heel but that

child would crush the work of the enemy

literally speaking of Jesus from Genesis

Genesis 3:15

3:15 The Book of Numbers uh Isaiah uh

Micah all of these guys prophesied and

all these Shepherds were raised hearing

about this but but everyone kept talking

one day one day one day one day one day

one day and now the and Gabriel shows up

and saying today today today today like

are you serious like it's actually

happening it's no longer one day he's

GNA one day it might one day maybe what

H what what what do you do when the when

the news is today it happens today he's

here he's already born the this is good

news this is why they were shook it

wasn't just the fact that they were

getting a savior you need to understand

in that time Rome had been so hard on

all the Jews that this was National

salvation the oppression that we under

is being broken that that has controlled

us and made our life weak and small is

being broken apart because our King is

here the king of the Jews the Messiah

he's coming to rectify everything not

just get our hearts right with God but

get our hearts right here and our hearts

right here and get my mind right and get

my family right he's going to put

everything into order he's going

to he's going to turn your chaos into

chemistry he's going to make it all work

for your good your days of struggling

without purpose are over this is what

the Shepherds heard and the Shepherds

went crazy the information gave them

hope until they heard that they had

nothing to hope for and now they do but

then there was a second thing that

happened

they then had inspiration that hit them

it it starts with information you got to

learn you got to hear what you don't

know but once you hear what you didn't

know then it hits you in a different way

and it brings inspiration look what the

Bible says in Luke 2:15 this is the a

Luke 2:15

couple verses later read this with me

also here we go let's go to Bethlehem

and see this thing that has happened

which the Lord has told us about first

two words to that verse let's

go that's how you know when you're

inspired that I heard something that

gave hope to me it lets me see beyond

where I am right now but you know you're

inspired when you're willing to leave

where you are and move to a different

place in life I'm not staying here

anymore I have a hope that something can

change I something has touched me deeper

than I've been touched and something is

coming alive in me that I've not felt

shift move kick in a long time do you

know what the word inspire means it

means to Exhale or to breathe

into to you're able to catch your

breath I haven't breathed deep in a long

time I haven't laughed hard in a long

time I haven't had this excitement about

life and my future in a long

time I've been

inspired you see if you're not able to

be inspired then that means means

nothing in your life is going to

transpire and eventually you will

expire you and I need to hear good news

about Jesus and let it touch us in a way

that I believe it enough to leave where

I am change something and move my life

I'm not living this way anymore I'm not

going to have dead dreams I'm not going

to Bear they're not going to bury them

with me I'm going to do something I was

made for more than where I'm living

right now I know my best days are ahead

and I'm too young to hang out right here

the addiction is going to be broken my

mind is going to be put back together

God is going to restore this house I'm

not playing this game life is moving too

fast my best days are ahead and I'm

coming after them now I'm inspired let's

go you should be hyped about being in

God's house to hear good news

information that excites your heart and

makes you want to leave where you've

been and move forward let me just ask

you something has anybody heard anything

good about Jesus that made you want to

leave where you were and move towards

where he is has has that done to any

yeah me too me

too when you believe you

move and after they

moved the Bible says that they showed up

where Jesus

was and that was

information that moved to

inspiration that became

transformation this is all by what what

the angel said look look look look look

we got to read it let get just a few

verses

later Luke 2:20 read it with me the

Luke 2:20

Shepherds returned glorifying and

praising God for all the things they had

heard and seen which were just as they

had been

told what they had heard and hoped for

now they have seen with their own

eyes what do you do

when you've seen a

miracle that will change you

forever no one would ever talk these

Shepherds out of what they saw that

night people can call him crazy you lost

your mind I don't know what you're

smoking drinking man you are you you are

gone you are BL you don't understand

what that was like I saw I heard one

talk and there was like a seven

squillion of them standing there looking

at us and talking and singing these

songs and all I know is what they said

it touched me different and it made me

move I had to leave where I was and move

my life forward I felt life hit me it

was different it wasn't just someone

just calling with some good news it

wasn't just a nice text this is

different this was holy this was

something that was going to change

everything and I felt it hit me deep

I've never felt unlocked emotionally

like that before to where I wanted to

leave and go forward without any proof

but just the fact that I I had hope that

something could change it moved me and

when we got there and we saw him and we

realized that this is real that it's not

just our imagination it's not just

something that people are hoping for but

he's here he's real he's alive it's even

better than what I thought their hearts

were

transformed it was changed the Bible

says when they went back they were

glorifying God look their whole

disposition changed they're now praising

and glorifying

God but their circumstances were the

same

it's not because life had changed right

but their heart had changed can I tell

you something when you get a big drink

of Jesus when you realize he's as good

as he said he is when you realize that

that hope is not wasted when you realize

that he's he's even better than what

you've heard about when you realize he

can actually do what he said he can do

when that hits you and you experience

that for yourself ladies and gentlemen

life can still be chaotic and it could

be flurries all around you but you know

everything is going to be all right

you've got a hope and a strength in the

middle of the difficulty I know I've got

an addiction but I know my God is able

to break this off of my life as well and

the home is a little crazy right now but

God's going to heal all of this too his

peace is coming at us I know he's good

I've already experienced a change in my

life and I know more changes on the way

yes sir you and I have got to lean all

the way in

to experience all that he

is what was it that was so powerful the

key to all of

this was that it was true verse 20 says

it was just as they had been

told let me just put it this way to

you God doesn't tease you with his

promises God's word is

true God's word is is true he can do

everything and more than what you can

imagine or

think this is word we cannot allow life

to crush him dumb him down to limit him

in our expectation in Our Hope because

what will happen is if you and I begin

to Discount and push him away what will

happen is you will hear good news and

you won't be inspired by it and you'll

know about the Bible but it can't do

anything for you because it doesn't move

you internally or maybe just maybe you

hear good news I love what I heard in

church and I'm inspired and I feel alive

I feel Joy man this is exciting I feel a

stirring in here but if I don't get up

and leave and go towards him if I don't

move my life forward then church is just

a pickme up it's an emotional bump it's

not transforming or changing my life

that's why you can see some people come

to church get excited about what they

hear here even give their life to Jesus

but after hanging out for 4 months 5

months 6 months all of a sudden the

honeymoon begins to die off and all of a

sudden not as excited as I was and I'm

not moved like I was and I begin to

drift why because they didn't get up and

start moving on their own towards Jesus

to experience a transformation in life

when you hit transformation ain't

nothing shaken you lose from Jesus when

you get transformed when he touches your

heart and he changes your family and he

touches your mind and brings peace where

you had chaos nothing will drive you

from that if God told you he can do it

he can do it if he told you he was going

to bless you for trusting him he's going

to bless you for trusting him if he told

you he's going to heal your family then

he's going to restore your family I'm

just telling you it's on the way that's

who he is but here's the challenge

here's the

challenge life wraps Jesus in some stuff

that makes it hard for us to see

him you can't really see this gift we

call it a gift but you don't know what

kind of a gift it

is can't see it all you see is the

rapper you see when you've been through

life fear will wrap itself Around

Jesus and

shame will wrap itself Around Jesus to

hide hi him from you you'll go through

loss that you can't see Jesus because

you're blaming Jesus for the

loss I'm so mad at him I don't want to

look at him that's why you can't see

him the Bible says he's a friend that

sticks closer than a brother he comes

close to us in our time of need but when

I've got my issues my past my reputation

the addiction the anger the frustration

the Brokenness and it is all screaming

I've got him so wrapped in that I can't

even see what he can do in my life and

I'm walking right by the greatest

opportunity I could ever have this is

why we have to unwrap Jesus to see him

and experience him listen listen ladies

and gentlemen some of God's greatest

stories greatest blessings in the Bible

are all wrapped up in ugly

circumstances they were

nasty Ruth Ruth H she was married to

Boaz and her goes Boaz Boaz okay I'm not

mad at Boaz good for Boaz that's a cool

story but the truth is Ruth's marriage

to Boaz was wrapped up in the loss of

her first husband and the loss of her

home and she had to move she had to run

Israel had to tear through the packaging

of Giants and fear in order to get into

the promised land do you understand

Joseph Joseph had to rip through the

covering of betrayal by his family in

order to get through that and become the

governor of of all of Egypt he had a

reason if Joseph had gotten angry and

blamed God why did you let this happen

why didn't you stop my family from doing

this this is wrong I don't deserve this

it's Injustice and you keep on

complaining and play the victim you will

live in that prison for the rest of your

life but Joseph said I was made for more

than this and I don't like the

circumstances but it's not God that did

this I got 99 problems but Jesus ain't

one of them you understand I got issues

in my life but he's the answer in my

life and so I'm not going to get mad at

the answer and stiff arm his involvement

in my life I'm going to call on him in

the midst of what I don't like what

doesn't feel good what I don't

understand what seems completely wrong

but I'm going to start digging and

ripping at this package I've got to get

past the rapper and I've got to get to

the gift that's where you and I are

we've got to get through the issues that

are trying to show you and lie to you

and tell you that Jesus doesn't care

he's not there he doesn't work for you

this is just for a few people but not

you all the lies are coming to prevent

you from actually reaching the gift

Proverbs chapter 25 verse 2 here's what

Proverbs 25:2

the Bible says it is the glory of God to

conceal a matter and the Glory of Kings

to search it out what does that mean

Scott this is what it

means God's glory his

majesty is whenever you have some hell

going on in your

life he says I'm going to I'm going to

put a gift inside of

it I'm going to put purpose to the pain

so that you're not wasting your time and

just crying for no reason and fighting

and praying for no reason whatever

you're going through I want to put

something beautiful up inside of here

that if you will just stay on it baby if

you will just keep praying if you'll

just keep trusting me I'm going to make

it work for your good I'm going to make

it pay you back with interest it's going

to blow people's minds who were angry at

you didn't want you to have it never

thought you should be around it I'm

going to have you walk out of it looking

good just keep digging stay in the game

the Bible says God will shroud he'll put

that gift inside of things that are

hidden so that you and I kings are there

to search it out you got to have a

king's mindset you got to have a queen's

mindset to dig for stuff that I'm not

just hanging out I'm not just here and

I'm not just a victim of life I'm going

after something something because here's

what I know he calls us Kings because

kings and queens are those who walk in

authority in arenas it is those who want

to walk in authority that keep going

until they get their hands on what is

right so I get past my feelings and my

emotions and my pity party and my blame

games and stop blaming everybody and

pointing fingers and crying myself to

sleep and I'm going to start looking to

him as the answer as the author and the

finisher of everything in my life I'm

not quitting until till I get a handful

of Jesus I'm getting through this with

some days it feels good some days it

doesn't feel good but my faith is not

circumstantial I'll trust him when I

understand I'll trust him when I don't

I'm digging I'm ripping I'm digging I'm

ripping I'm not letting up I'm going to

stay faithful I'm going to show up the

church again and I'm going to lift hands

and worship again I don't feel like it

but I don't care I'm going to lift those

hands and I'm going to worship my way

through this thing I got a messed up

mind but he's going to give me a piece

that passes all understanding everything

is going to be fine but I'm digging and

I'm not letting go until I see him for

myself ladies and gentlemen that's where

you're

transformed and when you're transformed

ain't nothing taking you back when you

experience two handfuls of Jesus that

changes

everything 2 Corinthians chapter 3:18

says that we are being

transformed into His Image the same

image from glory to glory what the heck

does that mean I'm glad you

asked it literally

means from fight to

fight from from frustration to

frustration but I ain't quitting would

you turn to three folks and tell them

I'm not quitting I'm not quitting just

just just just witness to somebody just

I'm not quitting I'm not quitting watch

watch watch watch I'm showing up again

I'm serving again I'm worshiping again

I'm praying again I don't feel like it

you're not a child get up let's go come

on here let's lean in maturity reaches I

heard something that's amazing I got

some information it has inspired me I

believe better days are ahead I was made

more from where I'm living right now my

dreams are I'm still dreaming they're

still alive and I'm going to be

transformed into his image from glory to

glory that means the fact that you

showed up again today you're one step

closer than you ever were before because

you just keep showing up you don't even

understand how close you are to getting

through the final rapper and seeing

Jesus on the other side that's why you

got to stay in the fight that's why we

keep showing up that's why we keep

serving that's why we keep worshiping

and honoring God because you're on the

brink of reaching the Heart of Jesus in

your

life we don't

quit but here's what I

know you and I are going to face some

push back when we start

this but you just can't let the paper

cuts keep you from unwrapping the

package cuz fear is going to cut you

what if it doesn't

work you you you you can have you can

have the paper cut of but my past is so

bad well my reputation is you don't I

got people No One Believes I'm doing it

by myself well my spouse well well I'm

I'm single well well I've got a

situation you you it's going to throw

all kinds of excuses to keep you from

reaching those are just paper cuts

trying to kill you with a thousand paper

cuts if you'll keep digging through it

baby let me help you with something if

you're digging towards Jesus and you get

paper cut let the blood fly keep on

digging the truth is if we could open

our spiritual eyes there's folks

bleeding all over the place in here

starting with the guy up here I'm

bleeding I'm dripping because I've had

issues hitting my life but I've just

decided there's nothing to turn back

towards I'm going forward I've heard

from God I got great news I've been

inspired by his word I'm being

transformed day in and day out I'm not

the guy I used to be I don't think you

would have liked him but I'm getting

stronger and I'm getting better because

I'm giving him my heart I've seen some

things and you can't tell me he's not

real because he's been too good in my

life my heart has been changed oh I

still glory to glory I still got my

struggle I still got my battle I still

got my questions I still have my

frustrations I still go through doubts

just like you do but none of those are

able to stop the goodness of God and the

progress that I have in my life because

I'm searching for something that makes

me a

king you got to stay in the game you got

to keep pressing you got to keep moving

forward you see Jesus Jesus did

this for

you Jesus looked at a package that was

offered to him and he didn't like the

paper and he had to decide to keep

digging because he saw you below the

paper for the joy set before him he

endured the cross father let this cup

pass from

me I don't like what I see

coming you see your salvation my

salvation from

sin the hope that Humanity has today was

wrapped in a whip a cross and a

grave that Jesus is willing to keep

digging and he kept pressing

and he didn't like it but the Bible

tells me that it took him 3 days but he

tore all of it off to reach the gift of

New Life to hand to you and I anybody

glad that he kept unwrapping that he

kept

digging Don't Let

Jesus hide from

you inside the paper I will not be

denied the way that you discover Jesus

is you have to

disover

him you have to uncover

him and that's where you're going to

have to rip off things that are trying

to get in the way I I'm convinced that

when the Shepherds finally got to the

cave can you imagine Mary and Joseph

sitting there near Jesus perfect

baby you got Eeyore over here you know

you know you got all the

animals and the Shepherds come running

in Mary's like

hello yeah we knew you were here what do

you mean you knew we were here angel

told us yeah he's blabbing it everywhere

like he told all of us we were all out

there we all heard it and we had to come

see for oursel we heard Emmanuel God is

now with us it's already happened it's

been prophesied from the very beginning

of time and now here he is

Mary you just got to understand

something I want to see

him well here he is no Mary you're

missing it the angel told me we would

find him

wrapped in swaddling

cloth and lying in a in a in a in a

Manger I want you to unwrap him so I can

see

him I want to see his arms I want to see

his hands I want to I I want to see his

pull that little blanket back and let me

see I want to see how oh cute onesie

that's so nice I want I want to see show

me his feet I I want to look at his I

want to see him in other words I didn't

come this far to live off of just a

glimpse of

Jesus I'm not just trying to get a peak

of who he is I'm not trying to just live

off of a quick experience and then walk

away oh no no no no no no no no I I want

to see all that he is all that he has I

don't want to settle for a little bit I

have been through too much in my life to

play with this game I am ripping

everything I can find off of Jesus I'm

not going to leave a little tag hanging

I want all of it gone I don't want

anything held back I want to see that's

a really nice gift I want to I want to

see who he is I I want every miracle I

want every promise I want I want

everything his word tells me and then

some I want him to heal my family I want

him to touch my mind I want him to give

me direction for tomorrow I need wisdom

on how to handle this situation I'm in

right now I need him to guide me and

Lead Me and people aren't going to get

it I need him to do what only he can do

but I've got to unwrap him I've got to

get over my emotion get over the feeling

so I can reach the truth of life and

once I hit that then I can know what I

can't know any other way I'm not playing

I've been living in way too much chaos

but I was made to unwrap him and see him

for all that he is so I can have all

that he promised I want it

all would you stand to your feet in this

room somebody say I Want It All I Want

It

All I Want It

All why would you leave part of the gift

under the tree I want it

all you give me a gift that says part

one part two part

three baby I'm going to open all three

of them and maybe another

one I want it all yes sir I'm not

leaving anything

hanging ladies and gentlemen he paid a

price for

you don't leave the gifts hanging on

that cross he paid for it

all your peace your

healing

salvation in fact that's the greatest

gift of

all knowing that you can be forgiven

that your

past can be wiped away

cannot be held against you

anymore Gone

Forever that's what he

promised ladies and gentlemen that is

one of the greatest Gifts of all would

you bow your heads in this

room I want to give you a chance today

to to receive that

gift I just want you to pray a simple

prayer in your own words something like

Jesus Come into my heart forgive for me

I accept you as my Lord and my savior

that's all it

takes it's not a big professional prayer

you don't have to pray it in my words

you just got to mean it from your heart

he hears you he understands and and and

it means you're just as saved as I am

there's no degrees of Salvation it's

just it's all the same we're in it

together so take the next 20 seconds and

pray that prayer in your heart invite

him in ask him to forgive you ask him to

change you ask him to reveal himself to

you father these prayers being prayed in

this room right now I know are touching

your heart you're hearing every one of

them and I ask you God to let your peace

your love your joy your strength let it

flood their hearts today throughout this

week with the realization that you heard

them that you understand them that

you're for them you're holding nothing

against them but you've leveraged Heaven

on their behalf you love us you're on

our side you don't have a scorecard

you're not throwing things at us but in

fact you're just covering us with your

grace and your mercy and today we say

thank you God lift my friends in this

room let them feel your love your peace

your strength as we move towards you let

us hear the good news and be inspired by

it but inspired enough to be transformed

by your power by your love move inside

and do what only you can

do I pray that this season will be the

greatest season of their entire life

as we finish this year and move into the

next I pray your increase of blessings

and presence to show off and remind them

that you're for them and not against

them that you're a friend we love you
