  1. Welcome to Free Life Chapel, where we

  4. glad that you decided to tune in with us

  5. today. If you ever find yourself in the

  6. Central Florida area, come visit us. We

  7. want to see you face to face. But until

  8. then, feel free to visit our website,

  9. freelifechapel.org, to find out more

  10. about what's happening at your church.

  11. There's an amazing message in store just

  12. for you. I hope you're encouraged.

  13. >> Hey, this is a big game today. Super

  14. Bowl, Patriots and the Seahawks. And

  15. quite honestly, when you look at the

  16. stats, when you look at the numbers,

  17. quite honestly, this game going down

  18. today is a miracle. It's a miracle. The

  19. Patriots at the beginning of the season

  20. were at 80 to1 odds of making it this

  21. year.

  22. >> Seahawks were 65 to1 odds of making it

  23. this year. Th this is a real life

  24. wildcard story. That's what I want to

  25. talk to you about. the wild card, like

  26. the unexpected, like you've got to be

  27. kidding me. Let me give you some some

  28. context. The Patriots, last year, 2024

  29. season, they had four wins for the

  30. entire season and 13 losses.

  31. This year, they have 14 wins and three

  32. losses. Like, they completely turn the

  33. script like that. Last year, they were

  34. the ultimate broken team. this year.

  35. You've got to be kidding me. First year

  36. brand new head coach Vrabel along with a

  37. secondyear quarterback May and they have

  38. led something that has shocked the NFL

  39. of what they have done. You got to give

  40. them their props. The wildcard factor

  41. that quite honestly when you look at the

  42. Patriots is they they defied every

  43. scouting report. No one anticipated them

  44. being here in the big game right now.

  45. They were rated middle of the pack, just

  46. mediocre, but they arrived here. The

  47. Seahawks, Seahawks had the same kind of

  48. same kind of vibe, like wildcar mindset

  49. to get them here in the 2025 season this

  50. year. They also 14 wins, three losses.

  51. They showed up. But really, the story

  52. related to the Seahawks is regarding

  53. their quarterback Sam Darnold. like

  54. this. This guy, it's his first year with

  55. the Seahawks, but you need to understand

  56. about this cat. He he this is

  57. interesting. He was considered a draft

  58. bust. Back in 18, 2018, when he was

  59. first drafted, everybody thought he's

  60. going to be the next greatest thing, all

  61. this, and he came on strong, but then

  62. all of a sudden began to bottom out

  63. quick. He struggled. He was with the

  64. Jets, then he's with the Panthers, then

  65. he went to the 49ers, and then the

  66. Vikings, and then eventually landed with

  67. the Seahawks this year. And towards the

  68. end of those, he was playing backup

  69. quarterback. He wasn't even starting. He

  70. was just kind of in the roster and

  71. hanging out on the bench waiting for his

  72. turn. In fact, he was just called a

  73. journeyman. He was just kind of going

  74. here and there. And which team was going

  75. to pick him up next and have him as a

  76. backup quarterback.

  77. Wild card. He went from a ridiculous

  78. castoff to actually becoming a Super

  79. Bowl starter this year and leading an

  80. offense that has the world's attention.

  81. This is the clash that's going to hit

  82. today. It's amazing. In fact, let me

  83. just put it this way. The Patriots

  84. season, they were predicted to only win

  85. six games, win six games and lose seven

  86. games this year. The result, 14 wins,

  87. three losses. Sam Darnold, yeah, this

  88. guy, he was just that journeyman. As I

  89. told you, the backup guy today, Super

  90. Bowl starter. probability of both of

  91. these teams meeting in the Super Bowl

  92. today. 08%

  93. chance of them being in the Super Bowl

  94. today. The result, they're playing at

  95. 6:30.

  96. >> In other words, you can't always check

  97. the odds to determine what the next

  98. thing about to happen is.

  99. >> Odds and numbers and statistics will lie

  100. to you.

  101. >> Not just in football, in your life, too.

  102. You see, according to the stats, these

  103. teams should not be playing together

  104. today. They should not be playing

  105. against each other. But let me ask you

  106. something. What about your life?

  107. Is your life a wild card moment?

  108. Can you admit that you probably should

  109. not be where you are right now? Things

  110. should have been a whole lot worse in

  111. your world than where you're living

  112. right now. Like with where you where

  113. you're situ I'm not saying everything is

  114. perfect, but the truth is I mean you're

  115. here. There's a lot of other places you

  116. could be, should be. You didn't get

  117. caught. That's all I'm saying. That's

  118. all I'm saying. Like like like the the

  119. improbable odds of changing or turning

  120. or winning. Like it doesn't really look

  121. good based on on where I am. But I want

  122. to encourage you. Don't let the odds

  123. tell you what God's promises can't do.

  124. >> I came here to push back a little bit

  125. today on what you think is going on in

  126. your life. And I'm going to rain on pity

  127. parties for just a little bit today. I

  128. got some good news. I got some hope

  129. because I serve a God who is famous for

  130. defying the odds in people's lives. And

  131. that's a good place to lean in and go,

  132. that's my God right there. In fact,

  133. check this out. Job 5:9. I want you to

    Job 5:9

  134. read this with me. Read it loud. Read it

  135. proud. Use your Pulk County outside

  136. voice. Are you ready? Here we go. He's

  137. famous for great and unexpected acts.

  138. There's no end,

  139. >> no end to his surprises.

  140. >> It's what he does. It's who he is. You

  141. were expecting one thing. Let me go. We

  142. deserved one thing and we got something

  143. different in return. You see, when God

  144. decides to move in your life, the odds

  145. are no longer against you. Because if

  146. God is for you,

  147. >> who can be against you?

  148. >> Who can be against you? This is the good

  149. news. I want I I want you to understand

  150. that the Bible the Bible is filled with

  151. wild card stories. I'm not just talking

  152. about a game where guys are going to run

  153. a piece of pig skin a h 100red yards up

  154. and down a field today and and and it's

  155. not going to matter in 10 years what

  156. happened there. I want to talk about

  157. something more important wild card and

  158. that's you. The Bible is filled with

  159. wildcard stories of you've got to be

  160. kidding me. That just happened. What

  161. about this one? This This is an

  162. interesting. There's this guy named

  163. Mphibicheth.

  164. Sidebar. If you're going to have a baby

  165. anytime soon,

  166. I probably wouldn't recommend

  167. Mphibicheth cuz it'll be the eighth

  168. grade before he'll be able to spell his

  169. own name. You understand? Like that.

  170. That's what do they call him? Meth or

  171. fib or whatever. I don't know. But but

  172. anyway, Mphibicheth. Okay, so check

  173. this. Mphibicheth was in the lineage of

  174. King Saul. King Saul was this twisted

  175. guy. Lost his mind and and and just he

  176. he he just he just went kind of cray

  177. cray. And and Mphibicheth is his

  178. grandson.

  179. When King David came in and took over

  180. the throne from King Saul, man, all of

  181. King Saul's family were considered

  182. enemies against King David. And so

  183. typically what would happen is the kings

  184. would wipe out any of that lineage.

  185. But something different happened. You

  186. see Mphibicheth, he was hurt. He was

  187. damaged. When he was young, somebody was

  188. carrying him was running. And the Bible

  189. says he was dropped and became crippled

  190. in his legs. He could not walk. And so

  191. although he was born in born into

  192. royalty, he was born into a corrupt

  193. lineage that was being hunted down. And

  194. now he's crippled and depending on

  195. somebody else to even move him around.

  196. He looked like anything but royalty.

  197. King David steps in and instead of going

  198. after and killing all of King Saul's

  199. relatives, David says, "I'm looking for

  200. any of King Saul's family that has left

  201. that I can show honor to them."

  202. >> And he goes after and Mphibicheth finds

  203. out King David's after him. And Fibby,

  204. he is not about this. You understand?

  205. Like if he's coming after me, I can't

  206. run nowhere. like I'm done. He's going

  207. to take me out. But David, when he found

  208. Mphibicheth, not only did David show him

  209. kindness, he brought him into the

  210. kingdom, brought him into the palace,

  211. put him at the king's table, restored

  212. his inheritance, and when he moved

  213. Mashibbeth, Mphibicheth up to the table

  214. to eat with everybody else, you could

  215. tell no difference between Mphibicheth

  216. and everybody else because everybody is

  217. sitting around the table. And David

  218. restored Mphibicheth. It is a wildcard

  219. story. There is no way this young man

  220. should ever have experienced that kind

  221. of life. But that's what God does. He

  222. gives unexpected opportunity.

  223. >> You see, he takes the weak, he takes the

  224. unexpected. He takes the unqualified,

  225. the damaged and the despised,

  226. and he defies the odds with these

  227. people. He He restores them completely.

  228. 1 Corinthians chapter 1 verse 27 says

    1 Corinthians 1:27

  229. this, "God chose the foolish things of

  230. the world to shame the wise." God chose

  231. the weak things of the world to shame

  232. the strong. Right now, you're looking at

  233. something foolish.

  234. You're looking at something weak. Oh, I

  235. know we we don't like to talk that way.

  236. We do our best that we can, and we got

  237. so many filters to make sure we look

  238. strong on social media. We're always

  239. making sure we we run through several

  240. filters and take 19 pictures to make

  241. sure we get that right look. Oh, that

  242. hair is out of the way. Oh, no. My ear

  243. looks really big there. Like, we're

  244. doing everything to make sure we got it

  245. all going on. But if we're just going to

  246. keep it 100% real in this place, all of

  247. us know that we got these weak, busted

  248. up areas in our life that we're walking

  249. around, we're putting nice hats on,

  250. messed up minds, we're showing throwing

  251. filters all over struggles in families,

  252. and we're trying to make it look good.

  253. But if the truth be known, our low light

  254. reel is more has more footage than our

  255. highlight reel does.

  256. >> We're all struggling in this room. Every

  257. one of us have difficulty. But the Bible

  258. says that God chooses those who

  259. recognize their weakness. He's not

  260. looking for somebody who says they have

  261. it all together. It's someone someone is

  262. strong when they can admit life is above

  263. my pay grade and I need God to help me

  264. with it. There are situations coming

  265. that I can't handle. I can't write a

  266. check and fix it. I can't network this

  267. thing away. I can't ignore it away. It's

  268. I need an answer and it's beyond me. I

  269. need God in my life. And that's exactly

  270. what he does for us.

  271. So, what odds are stacked against your

  272. life?

  273. You're not Mphibicheth, but maybe you

  274. got some things in your you got a busted

  275. home.

  276. May maybe maybe you've been abandoned.

  277. you you you walked through an addiction

  278. or or are there right now you dropped

  279. out of school. The education isn't where

  280. it needs to be. You're dealing with

  281. poverty right now. You got a sickness, a

  282. disease that that you're going a failed

  283. business. Uh maybe you did time or you

  284. are doing time. All my pulseci brothers,

  285. I just want you to know this message

  286. works for you like it works for

  287. everybody. Nobody is left out. We all

  288. need a turnaround. God can make all of

  289. us a wild card.

  290. I just need you to know today. I just

  291. need you to understand today, whether

  292. self-inflicted wounds or you've been

  293. victimized, God has the ability to

  294. restore you. And he's coming after you,

  295. looking for you, not to punish you, but

  296. to bless you, to heal you, and to lift

  297. you higher than you can get on your own,

  298. to restore to you the promises that

  299. Jesus died to give you. In other words,

  300. God is not consulting your past to

  301. determine your future.

  302. >> That was then, this is now, and the best

  303. is yet to come. So if you feel like

  304. today, if you feel like you're you're

  305. you're just a long shot, then I want you

  306. to know that you're exactly who God is

  307. looking for. Because once you and I

  308. recognize, I need him, that's when he

  309. does his best work in our life. You may

  310. see a .08%

  311. chance of probability of you doing

  312. anything in life. And God says, "That's

  313. the odds I'm looking for. Let's go blow

  314. everybody's mind." And that's what he'll

  315. do when we just turn ourselves over to

  316. him. There's another wild card that I

  317. think is really cool in the Bible. Her

  318. name is Esther.

  319. You know her by Esther, but but but the

  320. truth is this. That's not her real name.

  321. The Bible says her real name is Hadassa.

  322. Hadassessa. Hadassa is her government

  323. name.

  324. And Esther is like is her house name

  325. like Okay. So, so what's the difference?

  326. Hadassa is a Jewish girl. Hadassa is a

  327. Jewish name. Esther is a Persian name.

  328. It was a Persian name because Hadassa is

  329. in Persia. She's in a government. She's

  330. in a country where her people are not

  331. she they are the minority. And she

  332. wanted to join in. There was this big

  333. beauty pageant going on getting ready

  334. for the king to select a new queen. And

  335. so she had to go through this grueling

  336. like torturous

  337. oney year preparation getting ready for

  338. this pageant. She had facials and

  339. manicures and massages and and and like

  340. a solid year, the Bible says, a solid

  341. year of preparation. And the king chose

  342. Esther to be his queen. And while that's

  343. amazing by itself, a Persian girl, she's

  344. out of she she doesn't belong here only

  345. for her to rise to the ranks that now

  346. she's the queen of this entire province.

  347. She realized that she wasn't there just

  348. to be queen. She was there to have a

  349. place where she had an opportunity to do

  350. something that God was using her for.

  351. And that was this. She had to talk to

  352. the king. She had to be brave enough to

  353. have a conversation with the king that

  354. could cost her her life. You see, there

  355. was a guy named Hmon. And Hmon hated

  356. every Jew in the province. And he had a

  357. law passed where gallows were built and

  358. they were going to hang every Jew. and

  359. Esther aka well Hadassa aka Esther she

  360. approached the king and when she went to

  361. the king on her own she literally took

  362. her life into her own hands because

  363. nobody does that she could walk in and

  364. approach him and he could have her head

  365. taken off or she could have mercy but

  366. she said this I'm here for such a time

  367. as this

  368. >> I'm going to do what I can and let God

  369. handle the rest she walked in talked to

  370. the king favor was on her side and the

  371. man who built the gallows was hung on

  372. his own gallows. And God saved all of

  373. the people. Here's what I'm trying to

  374. tell you today. God has an unexpected

  375. position for you. Not just an

  376. opportunity, but he wants to move you

  377. into positions that you can't get on

  378. your own. So, he can use your life to

  379. begin to affect and impact and bless

  380. other people. God's God's plan doesn't

  381. leave you on the bench as a spectator.

  382. No, no, no, no. He has a plan to put you

  383. in the starting lineup and use you

  384. beyond anything you ever imagined

  385. possible. Yes, you. Yes, you. Yes, you.

  386. Not your neighbor. I'm talking to you.

  387. God has your name on his starting

  388. roster. And he wants to do something in

  389. your life.

  390. 1 Peter chapter 2:es 9-10 say this. You

  391. are the ones chosen by God. Chosen for

  392. the high calling of priestly work.

  393. Chosen to be a holy people. God's

  394. instruments to do his work and speak out

  395. for him. To tell others of the night and

  396. day difference he made for you. From

  397. nothing to something, from rejected to

  398. accepted.

  399. God is calling and he's telling us, I

  400. need you to break your mindset. I need

  401. you to stop living down to culture's

  402. expectations. Stop living down to the

  403. way family talks. And I need you to live

  404. up to my promises in your life. Break

  405. the mindset that says it can't happen so

  406. that he can launch your wildcard

  407. comeback in life. Just the same way he

  408. did it with Esther. He can do the same

  409. with you. That's why Romans chapter 12

    Romans 12 chapter mention

  410. tells us this. Don't become so well

  411. adjusted to your culture that you fit

  412. into it without even thinking. Instead,

  413. fix your attention on God. You'll be

  414. changed from the inside.

  415. >> You got to change your mind. If you're

  416. going to change your world,

  417. >> the way you think is what you become.

  418. And if you and I keep living off of

  419. social media, social media and culture

  420. will own you for the rest of your life.

  421. >> They will control you and manipulate

  422. you, and they will take you where they

  423. want you to go. And you'll never find a

  424. rhythm, a pace, a perspective, a dream

  425. that you can live out. We have go. So

  426. got to be careful of the voices that are

  427. entering the ears that because voices

  428. are determining the choices in your

  429. life. I've got to if I'm going to go

  430. where God wants me to go, I've got to

  431. have the right people in my life. Would

  432. you turn to someone, tell them, are you

  433. the right person in my life? Just ask

  434. them, are you the right person in my

  435. life?

  436. You you you got to check. And I'm just

  437. I'm just here to tell I'm giving

  438. everyone permission to change friends.

  439. No, I'm I'm just telling you like don't

  440. change don't change seats right now.

  441. That'd be really bad. But I'm just

  442. saying just because they entered your

  443. life in one season doesn't mean they get

  444. to stay. If you can't lift me and

  445. encourage me and tell me who God's about

  446. to make me, then I got to step and find

  447. somebody who's got hope and joy and

  448. peace and the promise of God. I didn't

  449. come to play. I'm not promised a

  450. thousand years on this earth. I got a

  451. limited time. And while I'm here, I want

  452. God to do something with my life. He's

  453. given me opportunity, but he's also

  454. given me position. And I want to do

  455. something with it. You see, just as a

  456. team is going to get a fresh set of

  457. downs to move the ball today, God's

  458. mercies are new in your life every

  459. morning, giving you another chance to

  460. get up and follow him. In other words,

  461. just because God's working in your life

  462. doesn't mean you're going to do it

  463. perfect. We fall down and get up and

  464. fall down and get up and we

  465. >> fall down

  466. >> and get up and then we

  467. >> fall down

  468. >> and we get back up and then we

  469. >> fall down.

  470. >> The Bible says a good man, a righteous

  471. person falls seven times and gets back

  472. up. They they they they keep getting

  473. back up. It's not it's not about the

  474. perfection of you and I never falling.

  475. It's the fact that you're going to fall

  476. tomorrow. Shoot, who am I kidding? Some

  477. of us are already falling down today,

  478. man. That's how we roll. Like like we we

  479. got stuff. WE'RE STRUGGLING. I GOT

  480. ISSUES. YOU GOT ISSUES. You want to see

  481. what issues look like? Look at your

  482. neighbor. There's issues right there. WE

  483. ALL GOT ISSUES in our life. WE ALL WE

  484. ALL PUT ON BETTER THAN WE'RE ACTUALLY

  485. LIVING. Where it's It's not We're not

  486. being hypocritical. We're doing the best

  487. we can. We're presenting the best, but

  488. we got struggles on the inside. And the

  489. soonest that you and I can admit that

  490. and say, "Look, I'm doing the best I

  491. can, but I need Jesus to make up the

  492. rest." There's areas I'm missing it. I'm

  493. not able to do everything I should. I

  494. need God in my life. It's not daily

  495. perfection. It's daily pursuit.

  496. >> God has unexpected plans for your life.

  497. You need to hear that. Yes, sir.

  498. >> You don't hear that enough.

  499. >> You don't hear that enough. You hear

  500. where you're blowing at. You hear where

  501. you're wrong. You hear where you messed

  502. up. And you know who all that mess is

  503. coming from? You.

  504. >> You are the worst voice against

  505. yourself.

  506. You and I chew ourselves up and spit

  507. out. The truth is I I I I just quite

  508. honestly think that some of the demons

  509. that were in our life are actually on

  510. full-time retirement because we're doing

  511. a good enough job all by yourself.

  512. Could talk so negative and so hard that

  513. I just cancel me out and I've just

  514. decided God would never want me. God

  515. would never use me.

  516. >> And I want you to know that's a lie. You

  517. and I have got to change our mind so we

  518. can become who he said God has

  519. unexpected plans for your life. Here's

  520. here's here's the third and f I could go

  521. on all day on these wild cards in the

  522. Bible, but here's another one. This guy

  523. named Gideon.

  524. This is a cool one right here. Gideon

  525. reminds me of me.

  526. Weak, afraid,

  527. pastor. Oh, baby, if you only

  528. understood. How, you know, we all got

  529. some areas in our life that if we just

  530. going to be real honest about it. Oh, we

  531. can walk all big in bed, but inside we

  532. like screaming like a little girl,

  533. right? Like like So, watch this. Gideon.

  534. The Bible says that the Midionites, the

  535. Midionites were this army that hated

  536. Israel. And they were encamped all

  537. around Israel. And Midionites were

  538. coming in and stealing cattle, stealing

  539. sheep, stealing all the crops out of the

  540. field. And Israel couldn't do jack about

  541. it. They stole it at will. And Israel

  542. just had to deal with it. And the Bible

  543. says that Gideon, this big, brave,

  544. robust guy,

  545. was hiding behind a well

  546. and a handful of wheat that he was

  547. trying. He was looking, checking out the

  548. the the the landscape to make sure he

  549. could run back to his house without

  550. getting caught by the Medidianites,

  551. taking some food back to his house. And

  552. while he's down here hiding behind a

  553. well, this is not my opinion. This is

  554. Bible. The Bible says an angel showed

  555. up. Say, "Yo, Gideon, what's up?"

  556. How do you know God knows where you're

  557. hiding?

  558. >> He knows all your secret places.

  559. He knows all those little pockets you go

  560. to get away from people and how we

  561. escape the truth and how we go here. Oh,

  562. but man, it he he he knows, right? And

  563. and he says that and here's what the

  564. angel does. The angel addresses Gideon.

  565. Yo, you mighty man of valor.

  566. There's only one of us down here and you

  567. cannot be talking to me right now.

  568. Do you know why the angel called Gideon

  569. a mighty man of valor right there?

  570. Because God is always talking to you

  571. about your future, never your present.

  572. >> He's always building and talking about

  573. where you're going. He sees you through

  574. the lens of my promise coming to pass in

  575. your life. That's why he calls you the

  576. head and not the tail. You will lend and

  577. not borrow. Lend and not borrow. I think

  578. I should just sign for bankruptcy a year

  579. ago. Oh baby, he's going to turn that

  580. around. It's a wildcard opportunity in

  581. your life for God to spend this thing.

  582. But you got to change your mind so that

  583. you can allow him to step in. Because

  584. when this hits, it changes everything.

  585. And the Bible says that Gideon, he stood

  586. up and he said, "All right, God. If you

  587. want to use my life, let's roll." And

  588. the Bible says that there was 32,000

  589. Medidianites.

  590. And when Gideon went to battle, he had

  591. 300.

  592. In case you didn't know, those are not

  593. good odds.

  594. >> 300 against 32,000.

  595. But those are the wildcard odds God's

  596. willing to run in your life. Only for

  597. Gideon to equip all of his warriors with

  598. a trumpet in one hand and a pitcher in

  599. the other that had a light in it, a

  600. flame. And here's what God said. Blow

  601. the trumpets and break the pictures. And

  602. when it breaks the pitcher, the oxygen

  603. is going to hit the flame and it's going

  604. to go bright and it's going to freak out

  605. the Midionites. And it did. And the

  606. Bible says that Gideon and his 300,

  607. they routed, they wiped out all the

  608. Midionites, and they didn't have to

  609. fight one of them themselves.

  610. >> They saw the flames hit and the

  611. Midionites thought they were surrounded.

  612. And they ran for their lives. They left

  613. fried chicken on the stove. They had

  614. biscuits and gravy waiting there. They

  615. just walked in and got to sit up like

  616. like they got hooked up because God

  617. knows how to care for his own. Here's

  618. what I'm trying to tell you. Not only

  619. does God have unexpected opportunity,

  620. not only does God have unexpected

  621. position, God has unexpected power in

  622. your life that when you and I just trust

  623. him, he does something that we can't do.

  624. You see, God knows our weaknesses, our

  625. inabilities. He knows our fears

  626. and still chooses us.

  627. >> It's not because you got it together.

  628. >> It's because you don't.

  629. It's your weakness that qualifies you,

  630. not your perfection.

  631. If you can't admit you're weak, then no

  632. one can help you.

  633. Until you come off that delusion, until

  634. I quit lying to me, and then I welcome

  635. him into my life, and then God can do

  636. things for me that I could never do for

  637. myself. Here's I got I I just need to

  638. make a public service announcement. The

  639. life you're living is above your pay

  640. grade.

  641. >> You don't have the ability to live it on

  642. your own. Do you think you know how to

  643. run a marriage?

  644. >> Have you ever tried parenting without

  645. Jesus?

  646. >> Have you ever driven on Florida Avenue

  647. without Jesus?

  648. >> Like, are you serious?

  649. >> Like, no. Like, in every area of our

  650. life, I need him. Would you, would

  651. someone shout, I need him. I need him.

  652. >> Acts 1:8 says this. You will receive

    Acts 1:8

  653. power and ability when the Holy Spirit

  654. comes upon you. In other words, God's

  655. God's spirit's coming on you to empower

  656. you so that he can use your life and my

  657. life for his glory. It's God in you that

  658. makes you strong. It's God in you that

  659. makes you bold in you that makes you

  660. able. It's God in you that makes you

  661. victorious. We don't do this separate

  662. from him. It's only in him. Gideon's

  663. odds were horrible, but Gideon's God was

  664. unstoppable.

  665. >> And that's a game changer. That turned

  666. him into a wild card. Let me close with

  667. this.

  668. Years ago, actually, in the 1800s,

  669. we going way back, like we skipped the

  670. 1900s, went to the 1800s. Y

  671. in the 1800s

  672. in the Louv. The Louv is the largest art

  673. studio

  674. in the world. It's in Paris.

  675. And there was a a tour guide leading at

  676. that time a group of athletes.

  677. Some have questioned if it was like

  678. during the Olympic time, but a group of

  679. athletes that were well known and

  680. leading them through and just touring

  681. and they were looking at all the

  682. paintings, these these beautiful

  683. renderings, these these artwork. It just

  684. amazing.

  685. In that group touring with them was a

  686. man, his name was Paul Morphe. Paul was

  687. the world champion grandmaster chess

  688. player.

  689. He dominated the world in chess. No one

  690. could beat him. And he's in this group

  691. and the tour is going on and the tour

  692. guy's leading through and they they came

  693. to this one this one this portrait and

  694. the portrait was entitled Checkmate.

  695. And the portrait was a picture of Satan

  696. playing chess against a Christian.

  697. You can see the angel standing there

  698. looking over the Christian trying to

  699. encourage him. But the Christian is

  700. distraught,

  701. perplexed,

  702. done, stuck.

  703. And Satan is enjoying this moment

  704. because Satan has the Christian in a

  705. spot that he's done. Checkmate.

  706. It's over. I got you.

  707. As the tour guide

  708. told what was happening, the tour group

  709. kept going on. But this this grand

  710. champion chess player

  711. was stuck just watching and looking at

  712. the portrait. He was intrigued. And as

  713. the tour group goes on, they went on

  714. down to another room and then they

  715. realized the tour tour leader said,

  716. "Wait a minute. We're missing someone.

  717. Where where?" And they came back to get

  718. this guy. When they walked up, they

  719. said, "I'm sorry that the tour group is

  720. moving on. can can you come and go with

  721. us? And and and and Paul looked back and

  722. he said, "You do understand. I'm a

  723. grandmaster

  724. chess player dominating the world,

  725. right?" Yes, we understand. And we

  726. understand why this portrait would be

  727. very intriguing to you. He said, "Hold

  728. on. You understand that I have the

  729. ability to look at the landscape of a

  730. chessboard and see what nobody else can

  731. see.

  732. >> I've spent years I've spent my life

  733. studying chessboards. I know pieces. I

  734. know moves. I I understand this. And the

  735. tour group said, "Yes, we we understand

  736. that you are the world's best, Paul."

  737. No, no doubt. He goes, "Well, well,

  738. here's what I need you to understand."

  739. He's speaking back to the tour guide.

  740. "You're going to have to either change

  741. the name of the picture or change the

  742. painting because according to what I see

  743. on that board, the king still has one

  744. move.

  745. It's called checkmate.

  746. because it's done. It's over.

  747. But when the grandmaster looked at it,

  748. >> one who could see from a different

  749. perspective than anybody else, I see one

  750. more move. In other words, the king was

  751. not trapped. The king still has one more

  752. move. I I need you to understand today.

  753. You have looked at the portrait of your

  754. life and you may feel like you are in a

  755. checkmate right now and the game is over

  756. and the odds are against you. There's no

  757. way out. Hell is laughing. All the

  758. pressure is building and you think it's

  759. done and people have walked by, waved at

  760. you and pied you and kept on walking.

  761. But when the grandmaster of your life

  762. steps into your portrait and begins to

  763. look at your situation, he sees what

  764. nobody else can see in your life. And he

  765. knows, he knows that the king has one

  766. more move in your life. It's not over. I

  767. know it looks bad, but you need the king

  768. to move in a position that's going to

  769. rearrange every situation that you're

  770. facing right now. You don't see a way

  771. out. You're not built to see a way out.

  772. It's going to take God to get you out of

  773. and through this situation. But that's

  774. exactly what he does. God's got one more

  775. play, one more move in your life. It's

  776. not over. He's going to turn you into a

  777. wildcard situation. He's going to flip

  778. it to where it's defied all of the odds.

  779. You're not disqualified because of your

  780. mistakes. And people are not able to

  781. discard you. They can't do that. It's

  782. beyond their pay grade. And you're not

  783. at the end. And the experts, they may

  784. call you a long shot. And the stats may

  785. call you an underdog. And the culture

  786. may call you a bust. But in God's

  787. opinion, you're just a wild card. And

  788. he's going to give you an opportunity.

  789. He's going to give you position. He's

  790. going to give you power. And he's going

  791. to turn it around for his glory and for

  792. your good. Would you please stand to

  793. your feet?

  794. >> Here's one thing I know.

  795. You'll never have enough money,

  796. education, friends, or influence to do

  797. life the way Jesus will do it with you.

  798. And you and I can choose to live at a

  799. second rate level of life or walk in the

  800. fullness that he can give. That's it.

  801. >> He doesn't mind you blessed. He wants

  802. you blessed. It's a part of his

  803. promises.

  804. >> But I know folks that you and I would

  805. look at and go, man, they got it all

  806. going on, but they have a hard time

  807. sleeping at night because there's no

  808. peace in their heart and the home is a

  809. mess and they have no future to look at.

  810. and they're scrambling to impress people

  811. that don't even know them.

  812. There's something better to live for. A

  813. restored house, laughter in your heart,

  814. blessing in your future, health in your

  815. body, health in your mind, kids that are

  816. together that you're enjoying a legacy.

  817. You got a community around that are

  818. uplifting and serving. Ladies and

  819. gentlemen, welcome to the body of

  820. Christ.

  821. That's what Jesus died for. There's no

  822. reason for you and I to back out, to tap

  823. out of that opportunity. Again, let me

  824. remind you,

  825. Job chapter 5:9,

  826. he's famous for great and unexpected

  827. acts. There's no end to his surprise.

  828. Could you use God pulling a surprise in

  829. your life today?

  830. Would it be all right if he got involved

  831. and messed with some stuff that you've

  832. been messing with and it's only getting

  833. worse?

  834. He knows what to do. And here's the

  835. deal. He needs you to admit, I need you.

  836. I need you. I can't do this. I need you.

  837. You become a man when you can admit, I

  838. need him.

  839. >> Oh, listen. All your deltoys and biceps

  840. and your traps. Good for you. You can't

  841. push that anxiety off your life.

  842. >> You can't press that off. No, it's going

  843. to take Jesus.

  844. Ladies,

  845. you can paint it up and you can pump it

  846. up. But I promise you, you're going to

  847. need Jesus to hold it up at the end of

  848. the day.

  849. We need Jesus.

  850. I don't care what situation, scenario,

  851. what what you throw at him. We all need

  852. him. We all fall short today. Can we

  853. just admit I need you?

  854. >> And in my needing you, I'm not going to

  855. do it perfect. I'm going to fall down

  856. and make a mess of some things and I'm

  857. I'm going to have to get back up again.

  858. He's going, "All right, good. Just dust

  859. yourself off. Let's go." It's pursuit.

  860. It's not perfection. I want to ask you

  861. to bow your heads all through this

  862. place.

  863. If you're here and you say, "Scott, I

  864. need Jesus in my life today.

  865. I need Jesus. I'm making the step today.

  866. I'm sitting at a board and it's

  867. checkmate in my eyes. But I need the

  868. king to make one more move. I need him

  869. to do what I can't see. I need him to

  870. turn a heart. I need him to heal this

  871. home. I need him to give me a picture of

  872. the future. I need him to give me some

  873. wisdom. I need some direction. I need

  874. him to heal my body. The doctors are out

  875. of answers. The counselors have no

  876. answers. It's going to take God whatever

  877. is going on. He is able and he's famous

  878. for doing this in people's lives and

  879. he'll do it for you. If you're here and

  880. you say, "Scott, I need Jesus in my

  881. life. I want to invite him in to be my

  882. Lord and my Savior." On the count of

  883. three, I want you to throw your hands

  884. high in the air. One, two, three. Right

  885. now, where are you? Oh my goodness. Oh

  886. my goodness. Hands down. Thank you.

  887. There was hundreds of hands that just

  888. went up in this room today. I want all

  889. of you to pray this prayer with me. Say,

  890. "Jesus,

  891. >> Jesus,

  892. >> come into my life.

  893. >> Forgive me.

  894. >> Change me.

  895. >> Heal me.

  896. >> Make a move.

  897. >> In my life

  898. >> that I can't see.

  899. >> I can't see.

  900. >> I need you.

  901. >> I can't do this.

  902. >> Without you.

  903. >> Without you,

  904. >> but with you.

  905. >> With you.

  906. >> This life

  907. >> is possible.

  908. >> Is possible.

  909. >> Take all of me.

  910. >> Take all of you.

  911. >> I take all of you.

  912. >> Take all of you.

  913. >> In Jesus name.

  914. >> In Jesus name. Amen. Can you put those

  915. hands together for folks who just made

  916. the greatest move of their life?

  917. Let me tell you something. I love people

  918. who can keep it 100% real with Jesus.

  919. Man, you're my kind of people because

  920. we've just got to we got to get real. We

  921. we got to stop playing and we just got

  922. to get to the heart to the bone of where

  923. we're living. And I need Jesus. Cindy

  924. and I need him. You need him. We all do.

  925. And so I love the fact that you can

  926. admit that in your own life. Now, here's

  927. what I want to do. I want to pray for

  928. you and whatever you're going through, I

  929. want to pray that the one who makes

  930. wildcard decisions happen that he's

  931. going to invade your life. Heavenly

  932. Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray

  933. over this room, this auditorium, I pray

  934. for those watching online, my brothers

  935. at Pokeci right now that God, wherever

  936. we are, that God, your presence, your

  937. power, your love, your hope, your joy,

  938. your miracles would move into situations

  939. and that you would turn things that

  940. nobody can get credit for. In the midst

  941. of the pain, in the midst of the

  942. failure, in the midst of the questions,

  943. I'm asking, God, that you would show up

  944. unexpected, sit down in the situation,

  945. begin to heal a heart, begin to open

  946. doors, bring a favor and a peace, God,

  947. amaze and shock the doctors, blow the

  948. counselor's mind. I pray that the kids

  949. would come back home. I pray, God, the

  950. addiction would be broken. I thank you,

  951. God, you give answers and wisdom going

  952. forward in the name of Jesus. God, today

  953. do something that only you can get the

  954. credit for. It's beyond our education,

  955. beyond our pay grade, beyond our

  956. networking. I can't do this. It's going

  957. to take you. But God, that's when you

  958. show off and you do your best. When I'm

  959. at the end of me, that's when I meet you

  960. for the first time. Today, God, we do

  961. that. We throw our hands up and we

  962. invite you in to work in our homes, work

  963. in our lives, work in our mind, and help

  964. us to declare and speak and see the

  965. things that you promised. We will be

  966. committed to you and we will chase and

  967. work with and through you so that you
