>> How many of you, you know how to read

blueprints?

How many of you are like me and when you

see blueprints, it just looks like a

really cool coloring sheet?

That's how it is for me. This This just

looks like a grown man's coloring book.

That's all. This is the blueprints, some

of them, for this property that you're

on right now for Free Life Chapel. is

right here. THAT BEFORE YOU EVER got the

chance to sit here, before we ever had

an opportunity to worship, before there

was ever a message that was preached,

before there was ever an aroma cafe

drink that was purchased, before there

was ever a handshake that was given,

there were lines that were put on a page

in order to talk about how do we

maintain

a structural integrity

to where no matter what happens in life,

this building will be able to stand.

These lines that were on the page, they

they determined where weight would be

carried, where where pressure would be

absorbed and what would hold it whenever

the storms of life would hit.

>> Now, here's the thing about some

blueprints. It It could be cool to have

them,

but it's not really smart to not use

them. Imagine if imagine if the people

who built this building, they did

whatever they felt like doing. Even

though they had the blueprints right

next to them the whole time,

we probably wouldn't be standing here. I

I I don't know how much it would be

standing. I I'd be scared uh to to be in

this building. I'm glad it's the house

of the Lord, but I need you to go buy

some schematics. Let's go by some

blueprint. Like, don't don't play with

my life.

>> Do that as you want to. Not not my life.

structure,

these lines,

these blueprints. It did not limit this

building. It actually made it possible.

And there's times in our life, times in

my life where I have viewed structure or

I have viewed the ways of God as being

things that limit me when they actually

provide me the opportunity to live life

to the fullest, to live life the way

that God designed to do it, his

blueprints. Because here's the reality.

These lines did not draw themselves.

>> It took a designer. It took an

architect. It took somebody who wasn't

thinking of what was in front of them,

but had a bigger picture, a bigger

perspective as to what was going on.

That's who made this. And that's the

same thing that happens in your life, in

my life. See, the average person when we

walk when I walk into a room or I walk

into a building, I'm looking at your

paint color.

>> I want to see how dirty are them

baseboards.

Are they as dirty as mine? I want

Hey, look. I'm only half Puerto Rican.

We only wipe down half of the

baseboards.

Get that later.

I look at I look at the lighting

fixtures. I I look at the things that

are seen.

But an architect doesn't just look at

what people will see. They look at the

integrity. They look at what we would

call the heart of a human. But they look

at the internal structure. Can this

support the beauty that it's going to

get wrapped in? Because what good is a

building if it's beautiful, but if it

can't stand?

>> What good is it to be wrapped and look

lavish, but it can't withhold the weight

and the challenges of life? And so, the

designer, the architect, his goal isn't

for it to just look pretty, although

they make that happen. And his goal is

to make sure that it lives better than

how it even looks. This is why the Bible

says this in Proverbs 3:es 5-6. I'd love

for you to read the highlighted parts

with me. Says this, "With all of your

heart, you must trust the Lord and not

your own judgment. Always let him lead

you and he will clear the road for you

to follow."

If we needed a designer to build this

building, then you better believe you

and I need a designer for us to build

our life.

>> This life is above my pay grade for me

to just do whatever it is that I feel.

This life has too much impact. There's

too much collateral damage that can

happen if all I did was what I thought

was right. If I lived my life based off

of my feelings, my emotions, or my

understanding, no matter how good or

wise you are, you're not going to be

able to carry that weight. It's above

us. And so, I don't want to build my

life based off of what I can figure out.

I want to trust the one who sees the

whole structure cuz the designer sees

what you and I cannot see. So, don't

limit. I don't want to limit my life to

my understanding. I want to maximize my

life to the person who sees and knows

everything, who has never once been

surprised. That's who I want to take in

to my life. There's a there's a verse

that I want us to focus on that, man, if

I'm going to be honest, I've been

wrestling this with this verse for a

couple years because I did not like it

because it punches me between the eyes.

And so, I didn't haven't really even

known how to really express this verse.

And so all I can do is express what I

feel like Holy Spirit has been speaking

and talking to me. Paul says this in 1

1 Corinthians 6:12

Corinthians 6:12.

All things are lawful for me, but not

all things are helpful.

>> All things are lawful for me, but I will

not be dominated by anything.

Paul, he's writing this letter to the

church of Corenth. And and as he's

writing to them, they they they were

they were pagans before this. They they

they believed in a lot of different

gods. Uh they they lived life to please

themselves. So whatever felt good,

that's exactly what they would do. Uh

sounds like my life without Jesus. I'm

just going to do whatever I think I feel

cuz why not? It's a selfish. It's

whatever is self-gratifying. So Paul's

writing this message to them and a lot

of scholars will say whenever he's using

the phrase of all things are lawful for

me. That was something that the

Corinthians used to say that the church

in Corinth used to say the people of

that time that all things are lawful for

me. And here's what they were doing.

They were misusing God's idea of grace.

That because I am under the grace of God

all things are lawful for me. Because

where sin abounds, grace does that much

more abound. Right? And so they were

using it as an excuse not to live to his

standards, but to proclaim his blessings

over their life without the standards of

God's word inside of their life. So then

Paul, he begins to reframe their

mindset. He says this, uh, if it masters

you, it's not freedom.

If it dominate, if you can't have it and

not operate, then it's not freedom. I

just got challenged by this a couple

weeks ago. I was looking on social media

or a couple days ago and I saw this this

pastor that was speaking and he was

talking about, man, we we talk about

things that dominate our life and like

the things that like no, I don't want

anybody to know of. I got convicted of

how many times have I said don't talk to

me before I have a cup of coffee.

It's funny how we allow even allow even

the smallest things to dominate me. So

now my coffee determines if I'm able to

give people the honor that the word of

God says for me to give. So now my mood

determines the lens that I'm looking

through social media. So I no longer

know how to be loving to people because

of something that has happened. No, Paul

Paul was saying this love grace. Embrace

the grace. Embrace the grace. It is

something that you and I need every day

of our life. But don't abuse and don't

attempt to manipulate it because if it

masters you, it's not freedom. And then

Paul goes on to say this that you and I

were bought by a price. WHICH MEANS THAT

YOU AND I, we don't belong to impulse

anymore. We we don't belong to the first

thing that comes to my mind is exactly

what I have to say. I just couldn't hold

it back. I just had to. No, I didn't.

Because if I just had to, that means

that it owned me. Now I'm a slave to

what? My thoughts, to my actions, to my

mouth. I have to check me. AND THAT'S

WHY I DIDN'T LIKE THIS VERSE.

>> We all love everybody else being held

accountable.

>> I don't like being held accountable.

>> It doesn't feel good. IT DOESN'T SOUND

GOOD, but it lives good. And God is more

important with how we live than how we

just sound when it comes to life. And so

here here's what Paul was saying. You

don't belong to impulse anymore. You

don't belong to culture anymore. You

belong to Christ. Which means this. Not

everything that is available is

beneficial.

>> Not everything that's available to me is

beneficial to me. One of the I've said

this, one of one of the hardest

decisions that I find myself having to

make right now as a dad, y'all. I got a

four-year-old and a two and a

halfyear-old. They did not I don't have

a license for those kids.

>> Didn't nobody teach me what I I learned

that I got taught some things, but there

was no cl parenting class that I took.

The hospital just gave me them kids and

said, "Good luck."

Like, y'all know how crazy I am. And

they mama real crazy. like you just

going to give it to us?

I find that the hardest decisions that I

make in life are not just between right

and wrong. It's between better and best.

>> It's hard that not everything that's

available for me is actually beneficial

to me. I remember a conversation I had

with Pastor Scott talking about the

structure of this building. I said, "Yo,

P, we it was while we were going through

painting and looking at redoing a couple

things." I was like, "Hey, daddy, what

what you think about like if we knock

down this one area?" Like, I get it.

It's there, but like if we could do

that, then it would open it up and then

we could do this and this. You know,

brains going 1 th000 miles an hour.

Puerto Rican side came out. So, I'm

talking and he says, "Son, that is a

structural wall. It is a loadbearing

wall. We can't take it out.

You can, but we ain't having church in

here that following Sunday. something is

going to crumble. I find that there's so

many things that I misval when it comes

to scripture that I think is an extra or

an additive when God said this is

loadbearing. This can handle the entire

weight of your life. And if you stand on

it and you allow it to be the foundation

of your life, you're going to be good.

But the moment, Caleb, that you try to

alter it,

>> better be careful what pressure you're

poking at. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT FRACTURE

you're going into, you don't know when

it's going to collapse. You don't know

how it's going to collapse because the

damage happens inside, not always on the

outside.

>> And then you're left picking up the

pieces,

cre removing walls that God has placed

up. It doesn't create freedom. It

creates turmoil. It creates collapse.

And that's what happens when we make

decisions based off of only what we see

or what we know. Because God makes

decisions based off of what he sees.

Proverbs 14:12, the Bible says it this

way. What you think is the right road

may lead to death.

What you think it can feel right and

still destabilize me.

You can have the opinion wrapped around

facts but doesn't make it truth.

>> There's a difference. There's a

difference. And so how am I deciding to

live my life? I can we can follow every

single desire and impulse we have. We

can remove every boundary. We we can

live without restraint. We could chase

everything that culture celebrates and

have that be the focal point of our

life. We can redefine what truth is. But

can does not mean should.

>> Can does not mean should. There has to

be something that holds me and not

everything that's available to me is

beneficial to me. We see this with Adam

and Eve. From the very beginning, we've

had a problem with our free will. We've

had a problem of too many choices. You

know, like when you go to the ice cream

shop

>> and they say, "What flavor you want?"

And you just looking and like,

"Row three is what I want. Row three."

So many options we can get paralyzed and

I I don't know which one to choose.

Sometimes I allow there to be options in

my life that should not be there.

Shouldn't even be an option. And it's a

non-negotiable. What do you mean? I mean

where God has an opinion, mine is

irrelevant. And so whether I understand

it or not, it really doesn't make a

difference. As long as I do things his

way, I'm able to get his results. Adam

and Eve, they see this. God puts them

into this gu garden. Full freedom,

full protection of all vulnerability.

The Bible talks about how they were

naked, not just in what they were

wearing, but they had nothing to hide.

Full openness and oneness with God.

nothing missing, nothing broken,

absolutely beautiful. And then the enemy

comes in and he he tempts them with

autonomy. He tempts them with free will.

He tempts them with, "I know this is

what he said, but have you thought?

>> Have you thought of it this way? Did he

really mean it this way?" And he wasn't

trying to get them to say that God was

wrong. He was just trying to get them to

ask the question, is there potentially

another way that I could do it to where

it would benefit me more? And so the

issue was never the fruit that they ate.

The issue was that they were trusting in

their understanding rather than God's

design. Because freedom outside of God's

design brings bondage to your life and

to my life. And but here's the good

news. protection lives inside of the

lines of God's design. Again, these

lines, they they they carry weight.

Again, I don't I'm not smart enough to

read blueprints.

Y'all who do teach me later? It's a new

free life group. How to read a

blueprint.

The these don't mean much. Some of these

lines are solid. Some are dashed. I

don't know. Some of them look like my

son drew them. I don't know that. Some

of them look like there was a race with

a mechanical pencil. You remember that

mechanical pencil? Some of them look

like that. I I I DON'T I DON'T KNOW

EVERYTHING THAT'S ON THESE LINES. BUT

here's what I do know. That the designer

whenever he created this, he wasn't just

looking at what it would look like. He

was trying to feel what would it feel

like? What would the weights right here

feel like? What what would the weight h

how would it FEEL WHEN WE'RE BUILDING

OUT THIS BALCONY? CAN THE WALL that

they're sitting on, can the support

beams that they're sitting, can it

handle the weight of the people that are

there, these lines, they carry weight.

And when we remove them, damage begins

to happen. Structural damage happens

behind the walls. Deuteronomy chapter 5

Deuteronomy 5 · chapter mention

starts talking about this exact thing in

Deuteronomy 5, the beginning of the

Bible. Hey, I my daddy has taught me

this. Old school is still teaching

school. So just cuz it's the Old

Testament don't mean there ain't no new

revelation you and I can gain from it.

Deuteronomy 5:32-33

Deuteronomy 5:32–33

scripture says this. So be very careful

to do what? Act exactly as God commands

you. Don't veer off to the right or to

the left. Walk straight down the road

God commands so that you'll have a good

life and live a long time in the land

that you're about to possess. Protection

lives inside of the lines of God's

design. We see this in the story of see

this in the story of Samson.

Samson, Pastor Scott has said it this

way and I love it. He's a he man with a

she weakness.

Samson

this cat who world's strongest man, best

IFBB power uh bodybuilder, powerlifter.

I hold auto record like Buddy was

yolked.

But he was walking around in a tank top

24/7, 30 degrees outside, but he's like,

"I know what God gave me."

>> I mean, that Bible don't say that.

That's just my imagination.

Samson over the top strength that came

from God. And God was using him in the

book of Judges in order to show how

amazing God is. But Samson, he began to

do this. He began to compromise

his convictions.

He he began to s to to what culture will

call right now deconstruct

how much of this structure that God has

put do I need to actually have in my

life versus how much should I have in my

life? The difference between what do I

have to do and what do I need to do just

to get by. Like you remember in school

you asking that teacher what do I need

to do to get a 88 on this test? I don't

want to do all the studying for a 100. I

only need a 88 to pass. So, WHAT DO I

NEED? WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO NOT

WHERE'S the line for me to not get

fired? Like, how how many times can I be

late?

How many emails can I get reprimanded

for? Like, WHAT WHERE IS THE LINE?

Samson saw himself doing this

and honestly gets very sad for Samson. I

saw a verse that I had never I had never

identified before. His his collapse

didn't happen overnight. It happened

gradually due to his compromise. And the

Bible actually says in Judges chapter 16

Judges 16:20

verse 20 that when he got woken up

saying that the enemy is here for you,

he said, "I'm going to go outside and

I'm going to handle it the way that I

had done before whenever I was doing

things based on God's blueprint." But

Judges 16:20, the Bible actually said

Judges 16:20

this. He did not know that the Lord had

left him.

He didn't even realize

how far gone he was. He didn't even

realize how much he was pulling away at

God's design to where the structure that

used to protect you. The structure that

used to hold you is now not even there

anymore. Now, let me make this very

clear. Let me make this very clear.

There was nothing wrong WITH GOD. GOD

DID not leave. Samson stepped outside of

God's design. GOD SAYS, "I WANT TO BLESS

YOU. I want to set you up. I want to do

some things in your life." But it

happens inside of this place. The

blessing comes from proximity, from

being close to God. I can't claim his

blessings, but be on the whole other

side of town away from his covering.

That's what Samson did. compromises led

him away from God's way of doing things

which then left him feeling like he was

there by himself. When you step outside

of God's design, you step outside of his

covering because protection lives inside

the lines because the designer sees what

you and I don't see can't see.

>> Anybody like puzzles?

>> Like puzzles. My son is into puzzles.

It's the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Come

inside. It's fun inside.

It's where we're at. Jesus and Mickey is

where we're at.

My son really enjoys puzzles. And

honestly, it doesn't even matter what

kind. Talia got a puzzle yesterday for

Valentine's Day. A princess puzzle.

Malachi did it. Mal Malachi wanted to do

the puzzle. Um my son, he he enjoys

puzzles. We enjoy doing them with him.

But there's something he only gets like

the 24 puzzle piece puzzles. Like that's

a lot.

That's a lot. And it takes us some time.

But the colors are really bright. The

the the shapes are really really big. So

it makes it a lot easier in order to to

to put them together. Uh the problem is

I act as if my life is only 24 puzzle

pieces and it's not.

We have thousands

of pieces

inside of our life. Timing, calling,

relationships, consequences,

generational things, a generational

impact that has happened. And when my

son and I are putting together the

puzzle pieces, because it's only 24

pieces, I don't have to know what it's

supposed to look like for me to be able

to figure it out.

>> We can figure it out.

But you know that the bigger the puzzle

p the bigger the puzzle, the more pieces

that you add, you better have a

reference point. Otherwise, you'll think

that what goes in the bottom left corner

goes all the way up or bottom left

corner goes all the way up on the top

right. We can get so discombobulated. So

we have to have a visual reference for

what our life is supposed to look like

because our life is a puzzle which means

this. You don't work anywhere. You work

somewhere.

>> Yeah. You and I, when we were birthed

into this earth, there was a puzzle

piece that got pulled out of our heart

that the only one who fits inside of

that piece is the one who hung on the

cross for you and I. But you could we

could try to fill it with thing after

thing and person and bottle and social

media and success and another business

and another boat and another house and

another vacation and then still be

frustrated because they were never meant

to fill the void of our life.

>> We have we have to understand the

severity, the impact and the the the the

how large our life actually is. give it

the the respect that it deserves and

understand it's above my pay grade for

me to try to assemble all on my own. I

need the master designer to give me the

blueprints for my life to let me know

where things are supposed to be. This is

what Jeremiah was talking about.

Heard my whole life Jeremiah 29:11

Jeremiah 29:11

quoted. But Jeremiah

the prophet in the Old Testament as he's

writing, he wasn't talking to people who

just won the Super Bowl.

>> HE HE HE WASN'T TALKING TO PEOPLE THAT

WERE ON A MOUNTAINTOP EXPERIENCE. He was

talking to people who were in exile.

Talking to people who were in bondage.

Talking to people who felt like it was

all over. Talking to people who were

ready to just throw in the towel because

it what happened? The people of Israel,

they stopped doing things God's way.

They went away from his blueprint, his

design of doing things. They came into

captivity. And while they're there,

they're frustrated. And you have false

prophets that are saying one thing. Then

you have people that are left with

disappointment, unmet expectations,

saying, "God doesn't work anymore. We're

in a different place. So then God must

not work. God only worked for my

grandma, grandmama and them. He don't

work for me." You have all these people

that are battling this idea. They're

dealing with the consequences of their

decisions of lack of obedience. And then

Jeremiah steps up and he says, "For I

know the plans I have for you."

>> Says who?

>> Not the king.

>> Not the person in charge. Not the oldest

guy and not the youngest guy. Not the

one that had the most money. Says, "I

know the plans that I have for you,"

says the Lord. They are plans for good

and not for disaster. to give you a

future and a hope. They thought that

their structure had collapsed and God

said, "I still see the finished design."

Jeremiah 29:11. It's not a promise of

Jeremiah 29:11

ease that you and I are going to have in

life to get to our future. It's a

promise of God's sovereignty that even

when you and I don't understand the

season of life that we're in, the

designer still sees the plan. He still

knows the blueprints. And although I

have stepped away, the design is still

perfect. He calls us back into

alignment. And if you'll get back in

alignment, you'll see that the plans

that I have for you are to set you up in

a way that you can't do if you were to

try to go away from my blueprint, away

from my way of doing things and try to

do them on your own.

We deal with this aspect of the choices

that we make due to sin.

When sin entered into the world, uh,

humanity stepped outside of the design

of God. When sin entered in, it it it

made us question, uh, God's way or my

way. God's thoughts, my thoughts, God's

way of doing things versus my way of

doing things. And God's design has

always been perfect. Please don't get it

twisted. When sin entered in, God didn't

say, "Whoops, didn't plan for that.

didn't know how to handle that. He

wasn't caught off guard. God's design

was always perfect, but our alignment to

his design is what stepped outside. But

Romans 5:8 says, "But God showed his

Romans 5:8

great love for us by sending Christ to

die for us while we were still sinners."

Jesus,

this guy that we talk about with grace

and with mercy and forgiveness,

he didn't come to create a new design.

>> That was not his MMO. He came to restore

the original one.

>> This is right. Scripture calls Jesus

Christ the cornerstone.

that when when you get the cornerstone

placed just right, everything else is

able to be built off it. When he is in

his rightful place, when the cornerstone

is secured, everything else can realign.

The design was never wrong.

We just happened, I happen to step

outside of God's design.

Jesus came into this world and comes

into our life to get us back under God's

original plan and design for our life.

So, back to the original verse, staple

verse for this message,

1 Corinthians 6:12,

1 Corinthians 6:12

all things are lawful for me, but not

all things are helpful. Do they push me

towards Christ? Do they push me away

from Christ? If it's helpful to me, then

it builds this relationship. Anything

that goes against or pulls me away from

building this relationship is not

helpful. All things are lawful for me,

but I will not be dominated by anything.

What is the first thing that I go to

before I go to Jesus? That's what owns

me. And how do I put him back in his

rightful place as being the master

designer, the master architect, the

master engineer for my life? So, I'll

just ask you, what's been dominating you

in life?

Where have you trusted your

understanding over God's sovereignty?

What what boundary have you erased? What

have you tried to pull and deconstruct

away from God's model

that really we're we're living in the

consequences

not of what God said but of my

misalignment

to him. Everybody will stand to your

feet.

Some of you, you might be in the room

and you might be feeling like you're in

exile like Israel was when Jeremiah was

talking to them.

You might be feeling like, man, I at one

point I was there and I was good. I've

kind of stepped away from God's design

and now I feel like I'm a slave to

people's opinions. I feel like I'm a

slave to what's said on social media. I

feel like I'm a slave to my own mind. I

feel like I'm a slave to the

consequences of my decisions that I've

been making. I don't know what it is,

but I know that God is always calling me

back to realignment,

saying, "Caleb, if you just align with

me, I know you've done it your way and

accidentally got it right, but your life

is too valuable to live it by chance."

God said, "I don't want you to play the

odds because I value you more than that.

I've given you a structure. I've given

you a blueprint. I've given you a way to

do things that blesses not just you, but

everybody who comes in contact with you.

That this thing of generational curses.

What about a generational setup? What

about a generational blessing? What

about a generational INCREASE? WHAT

ABOUT SOMETHING THAT BECAUSE OF YOU,

THINGS BEGIN TO CHANGE. BUT WATCH THIS.

You can't do it without doing it his

way.

>> That's right. That's right.

>> I get in his way. He's saying, "Caleb,

just come back into alignment with me,

son. Remember that I am the designer.

I'm the one that sees the future."

Caleb, just because you because you can

doesn't mean that you should. What

should I do? Whatever honors and

glorifies God. What word should I say?

Whatever honors and glorifies God. Where

should I go? Wherever honors and

GLORIFIES GOD. WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH my

life? Whatever honors and glorifies God.

Should I date this person? Would it

honor and glorify God? Should I post

this? Does it honor and glorify God?

That becomes the framework for how

everything else happens. Cuz I can

doesn't mean I should. Protection lives

inside of the lines of God's boundaries.

They're not there to limit us. They're

there to protect us. THEY'RE NOT THERE

TO KEEP us to keep us from having fun.

They're there to keep things from coming

in to steal, kill, and destroy our life.

There's protection inside of his lines.

The designer sees what you and I don't.

And God's design for your life is not

restricting you. It's protecting you.

Because here's the reality. Freedom

starts

where surrender starts.

>> You want to feel freedom like you've

never known. Bible says that where the

freedom of the or where the spirit of

the Lord is, there is freedom, that

means that I get into submission of his

word. And the moment I start submitting

to doing things God's way, I'm able to

experience this

inside of life. Not because life is

easy, not because you're not going to go

through things, but because I don't feel

the pressure of having to build

something that I know I can't keep up.

I'm deciding to do it based off of the

master designer's plans. Let's pray.

Father God, we love you. We thank you

that you loved us enough to not make us

figure out this way of life on our own.

To not make us figure out what puts a

smile on your face. How can we honor you

with our lifestyle? Now, no matter what

my occupation is, no matter if I'm

single or if I'm married, no matter if

I'm a male, if I'm a female, no matter

what state, what city I live in, you've

made it very clear to us what your

blueprints are for our life. God, would

you help me? Would you help all of us

come back into alignment with you, doing

things your way, understanding that you

don't restrict us, you protect us like a

parent protects a child. You have a

divine yes and you have a divine no. So

God, would you help us to trust your

heart that you're not a God that is

doing things because you're mad at us.

You're a God that does things out of the

abundance of your love in order to

protect us in life. And so God, would

you help us obey you faster, lean into

you more even before we understand it

fully? Would we say yes? Would we obey?

And then grow into our understanding as

we grow inside of our relationship with

you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Amen.
