-
Yesterday, Malachi had a soccer game.
-
And the whole family shows up when
-
there's a soccer game because we're
-
looking for scouts. We're looking for
-
NIL deals. We're like working all all of
-
that going on. And and uh and while
-
we're out there, had a great time. And
-
then afterwards, you do what you're
-
supposed to do after a great soccer
-
game. you you go to Chick-fil-A. That
-
that's what you do. And and uh there'll
-
be one in heaven in case you're
-
wondering. And and you and it'll be open
-
on Sundays up there. And so when you get
-
to Chick-fil-A, uh we go inside. I
-
hadn't been inside Chick-fil-A in a long
-
time. And and we're we're it's Caleb,
-
myself, and the kids. And we go inside
-
and we saw all kinds of free lifers in
-
there. We're saying hello, hugging
-
necks. I took an offering. It was
-
wonderful. But anyway, we're I'm
-
kidding. I'm kidding. We get in there
-
and we we sit down at the table and and
-
there's a little QR code on the table. I
-
it's been a minute since I've been in
-
there. You scan the QR code and you put
-
your you put your uh your your your
-
order in from the QR code. I'm like,
-
"Well, well, look at that. Look at look,
-
you go Chick-fil-A." And and we and so
-
we put the order in and we're sitting
-
there sitting there and the food's not
-
coming. Food's not coming. Food's not
-
coming. And Ko's like, "Man, it's taking
-
a long time." And then he goes, "Oh man,
-
I forgot to scan it to make sure they
-
knew which table we were at. that the
-
order isn't complete yet. And so finally
-
he scanned it and an hour and a half
-
later we were able to finally
-
we got our order.
-
We were in the right place,
-
done the right things,
-
but we still weren't receiving.
-
>> We had one more step to complete the
-
order.
-
What if I told you just one more step is
-
all you need in your life today to
-
complete what God is doing in your life?
-
>> The last thing you want to do, the last
-
thing you want to do is is is be sitting
-
and expecting and waiting. But there's
-
something else you got to do before
-
heaven can hit the way that it wants to
-
do. I want to talk to people today for a
-
couple of minutes who are in the
-
building. You are at the table, but
-
you're frustrated because you're not
-
receiving the way you thought it was
-
coming. I want us to talk about that
-
today. Matthew 4 23. Here's what here's
-
what our Bible reads. Jesus went about
-
in all Galilee teaching in their
-
synagogues
-
preaching the good news of the kingdom.
-
Now, I wish I had time to break all this
-
down, but let me just kind of throw this
-
out there for what it's worth. When
-
you're reading your Bible, the kingdom
-
of God and the kingdom of heaven, they
-
mean the exact same thing. In the book
-
of Matthew, you're going to see a lot of
-
places, in fact, 32 times Matthew uses
-
this phrase, the kingdom of heaven, but
-
that's only in Matthew. In fact, you'll
-
see kingdom of God about 68 times in 10
-
different books. But Matthew only uses
-
the phrase kingdom of heaven because
-
Matthew is writing to a completely
-
Jewish audience. And since he's writing
-
to a Jewish audience, you don't mention
-
the name of God. His name is too holy to
-
be mentioned. So you use heaven that
-
means the same thing. Just for what it's
-
worth. So kingdom of God and kingdom of
-
heaven are the same thing when you read
-
it in your Bible. But here's what's
-
interesting. The Bible says Jesus is
-
going around speaking teaching on the
-
good news of the kingdom. But here's
-
what's shocking to me when I begin to
-
really look at the Bible. Jesus, he
-
didn't publicly preach publicly like go
-
hard, publicly preach his death, burial,
-
and resurrection. He only did that to
-
his disciples privately, one-on-one. He
-
didn't talk about that. In the church
-
world today, that's exactly what we go
-
hard on. Jesus died for us, rose again,
-
and here now we have new life in him,
-
and that's good news. But Jesus did not
-
focus on that. Jesus taught on the
-
kingdom of God.
-
>> We talk today about what Jesus did, the
-
price he paid, and that's our focus. But
-
I just want to offer to you today that
-
the church has got to continue its
-
message and not leave it on a salvation
-
message, which is paramount and
-
wonderful and a requirement necessary
-
for all of humanity. But that's not
-
where it ends,
-
>> right?
-
>> What he did teach
-
was the kingdom. And in John 18, Jesus
-
claimed to be a king of a kingdom. So
-
what IS THIS KINGDOM HE'S TALKING ABOUT?
-
AND WHY WAS IT SO much his focus? You
-
see, Jesus didn't teach us how to die
-
and go to heaven. That wasn't his focus.
-
He was trying to teach us how to have
-
some heaven on earth.
-
>> That was what his focus was. THAT WHAT
-
GOD IS DOING THERE can be alive IN YOU.
-
COULD ANYBODY USE A LITTLE BIT of heaven
-
on in in in your world right now? YEAH.
-
WELL, THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT JESUS was
-
teaching. This is why Jesus said in John
-
10:9, here's what he said. He said, "I
-
am the door."
-
Now, I don't know if you've noticed
-
recently or not, but you'll never just
-
be walking on a sidew side and see a
-
door.
-
>> Doors do not exist unless they are
-
taking you into something,
-
>> right? Doors are access. Doors are
-
that's how you get into another place.
-
It It's a threshold to a new season.
-
Doors give you access. Here's what I'm
-
trying to tell you. Here's the key.
-
Salvation Jesus isn't the destination.
-
Jesus is the door that leads to what
-
you're supposed to be living in. He This
-
is why this IS IMPORTANT. YOU AND I, IF
-
WE'RE NOT CAREFUL, WE will say, "I
-
prayed the prayer. I accepted Jesus. I'm
-
good." And you sit, you stall, and
-
you're waiting at the table and
-
Chick-fil-A is not delivering
-
because I did the first part. I didn't
-
finish the order. There's more than
-
salvation. And if you and I are so
-
focused on, well, I prayed the prayer, I
-
accepted Jesus, I'm just waiting on him
-
to come back. You completely missed what
-
the purpose of God's word is written all
-
about. You got to take one more step.
-
Would you tell somebody you got one more
-
step, boo? You got one more step.
-
Salvation is how you enter the kingdom.
-
It was never intended to be where you
-
stop.
-
>> And there's too many people today that
-
are obsessed with the door and not
-
experiencing the house.
-
>> Why would you stand at A DOOR? LOOK, I'M
-
ALL ABOUT BEAUTIFUL DOORS. Get my
-
attention. I I think doors are cool.
-
Doors on homes, doors on businesses,
-
door like, "Wow, look at that door." But
-
but but but the door is there to open
-
and let you into something. Do not live
-
on the porch when you were made for the
-
house.
-
Your faith should be producing something
-
stronger. THE POWER, THE BENEFITS, THE
-
PROMISES, the joy of God should be
-
invading your life, your home, your
-
business, your relationships.
-
It's like it's like having a wedding,
-
but never starting the marriage.
-
>> You got the certificate, you made the
-
vows, but you're still not living in the
-
house.
-
The purpose of the wedding is to get to
-
the marriage.
-
You get a passport BECAUSE YOU PLAN ON
-
GOING SOMEWHERE.
-
>> God forbid YOU GOT A PASSPORT THAT'S
-
BLANK. You need that thing stamped. BUT
-
WHEN YOU TAKE THE PASSPORT TO THE
-
AIRPORT, THE GOAL IS not to just get
-
through security and get to the gate and
-
then live at the gate for the next 10
-
years eating pretzels AND DRINKING
-
HIGHRICED COFFEE AND WATCHING PEOPLE
-
COME AND GO.
-
YOU DON'T GET THE PASSPORT to go live in
-
the airport. You get the passport TO GET
-
ON A PLANE AND take take a trip
-
somewhere. And that's what Jesus wants
-
to do. Jesus says, "The passport IS YOUR
-
SALVATION, BUT NOW IT'S TIME TO GO. Now
-
it's time to live. Now it's time to
-
experience things that you never could
-
have experienced without me."
-
>> So, what does the kingdom of God
-
actually mean? H how do how do I begin
-
to even conceptualize and put this
-
together? Well, the Bible says in in
-
Matthew chapter 6 verse 10, here's what
-
here's what it reads. Read it with me.
-
Your kingdom come, your will be done on
-
earth as it is in heaven. What is the
-
kingdom of God? The kingdom of God is
-
God's will being done in your life.
-
>> It's that simple and it's that
-
difficult,
-
you know, doing pursuing Christ when you
-
got to work with people that you got to
-
work with. That's tough.
-
pursuing Christ while you're raising
-
teenagers.
-
That's tough. Like driving down Florida
-
Avenue and pursuing Christ.
-
That's tough. I'm I'm I'm just saying
-
like this this kingdom of God is God's
-
will taking place in your life and in
-
your world. Listen, and in your world.
-
In other words, it starts in your heart,
-
but it spreads to your zip code. Like
-
like when Jesus invades your life, he
-
doesn't just come in to hang out there.
-
He comes in so then you and I can let
-
him out.
-
>> Keep the faith just not to yourself. Do
-
you understand? Like we stand in that.
-
So how do we step into and live in this
-
kingdom of God? Well, the Bible says in
-
Matthew 6:33,
-
"Seek the kingdom of God above all."
-
Read that line again. Seek the kingdom
-
of God above all else and live
-
righteously and he will give you
-
everything you need. Seek.
-
You ever lost something in your house?
-
Lost your keys.
-
>> You tore the house upside down looking
-
for the keys
-
>> and they were in your pocket the entire
-
time. Right. That's Yeah.
-
Seek. Pursue it. Chase it. Dig. Reach.
-
He's saying this. This is how you come
-
after the kingdom of God. It's a
-
pursuit. IT'S NOT SITTING back waiting
-
on it. No, no, no, no, no, no. GET UP
-
AND GO. THAT'S WHY WE'RE HERE TODAY. You
-
are seeking right now being in this
-
room. When you hit a life group, you're
-
seeking. When you join us for the
-
business owners, the executive
-
collector, you're you're you're seeking.
-
I'm coming after you. When you have a
-
time of prayer, a devotional, you're
-
seeking. I'm coming after you today,
-
God. That matters.
-
Seek first the kingdom of God. Why does
-
it point that out? Because there's a lot
-
of kingdom options.
-
>> Oh yes, there are. There's the kingdom
-
of comfort.
-
>> Oh, how you know we love us some
-
comfort. We love us some comfort. We
-
prefer comfort over growth.
-
>> Oh, yes we do.
-
>> Just just make it easy, please. That
-
that that that so we we we got a kingdom
-
of comfort. We got a kingdom of
-
reputation. We will do anything to make
-
sure my reputation looks good.
-
building my style, building my brand,
-
making sure that I so it it's a kingdom.
-
Politics is a kingdom.
-
>> Oh yes, it is. Because some folks
-
actually think that politics has the
-
answer to fix this world.
-
>> You see, whatever kingdom, whatever you
-
worship, whatever you look to for
-
answers is what you begin to pursue and
-
worship. And ladies and gentlemen, the
-
the politicians are just as jacked up as
-
you and I are.
-
>> Yeah. Yeah. humanity, it cannot I it it
-
finds itself in a tail spin trying to
-
fix the problems it keeps creating.
-
Albert Einstein said that you can't fix
-
problems at the same level you created
-
them at.
-
And when you have humanity that keeps
-
coming up with problems, but then we
-
look to politicians to fix what is
-
already broken because of humanity, we
-
we've got to spend that means we need a
-
higher kingdom that can actually speak
-
into this kingdom and begin to repair
-
and heal and bring answers that we can't
-
come up with on our own. We need Jesus
-
in our world is what I'm trying to tell
-
you. Man is devoid of answers.
-
Politicians, I don't care if you're a
-
donkey, if you're an elephant, or if
-
you're lost. I'm just telling you right
-
now, the one that will fix it is the
-
lamb. We need the lamb to step into the
-
situation and fix this and bring a peace
-
and a direction for our life. These
-
kingdoms are running. God said, "I want
-
you to choose one. I want you to choose
-
pursue. Seek the kingdom of God. Seek
-
the kingdom of God." Well, Scott, how do
-
I know if I'm going in the right
-
direction? How do I know if I'm doing
-
it? Have you ever given directions to
-
somebody? Hey, hey, where is so and so?
-
Okay, go down this road. I grew up in
-
Virginia and we used barns and trees and
-
fences like that. That's that's kind of
-
the the markers that we gave them. Drive
-
down this road till you hit the dead
-
end. You're going to see a big red barn
-
on the lefth hand side. Go down there
-
about three. And that that's how you're
-
you're giving markers, right? The gas
-
station, the fork of the road. We we
-
give markers to a friend. Well, I want
-
you to know the Bible gives us clues,
-
gives us markers to help us identify if
-
we're moving in the kingdom. It's called
-
the fruit of the spirit.
-
>> Do you have any love in your life? Oh,
-
you going the right way, Hercules.
-
Hercules, good for you. Do you have some
-
peace in your life? Good. You I'm not
-
saying that everything is peaceful. I'm
-
just saying you have peace in your life.
-
Isn't it amazing that when you're
-
serving Jesus, you can have peace in a
-
crazy situation?
-
That's what THE BIBLE IS GIVING US the
-
fruit of the spirit. How about this one?
-
How about this one? Have you Have you
-
started feeling bad about things you did
-
or said? It's that thing called
-
conviction. Like, I feel like I need to
-
go apologize. Oh, you're going in the
-
right direction right now. I promise
-
you.
-
>> Cuz you didn't feel that before.
-
>> All of a sudden now it's not right. I
-
got to fix this. How you got some new
-
friends, some new voices in your life.
-
you actually find yourself thinking
-
about Jesus or talking to him now. Some
-
things you your language is changing.
-
>> That attitude is changing. Thank God
-
we've been praying for your attitude.
-
That attitude is change. You go if when
-
when THESE THINGS HIT, YOU'RE GOING IN
-
THE right direction. Seek first THE
-
KINGDOM OF GOD. DON'T SEEK SUCCESS. SEEK
-
THE KINGDOM.
-
>> STOP IT. SUCCESS IS ALWAYS GOING TO
-
ELUDE YOU. SEEK THE KINGDOM. DON'T SEEK
-
TO BE LOVED. SEEK THE KINGDOM. DON'T
-
SEEK OPPORTUNITIES. SEEK THE KINGDOM.
-
Don't seek recognition. SEEK THE
-
KINGDOM. BECAUSE HE SAID, "SEEK FIRST
-
THE KINGDOM ABOVE ALL THINGS."
-
>> And then the stuff things will be added
-
to you.
-
>> In other words, in other words, do it
-
the kingdom way and you get to enjoy the
-
journey.
-
>> It doesn't wear you out. Do it God's
-
way. Supernatural help provides on THE
-
BACKSIDE. DO IT GOD'S WAY AND let the
-
game come to you instead of you chasing
-
the game all over the place and I can't
-
get my hands on it. God's not keeping
-
things from you. He's keeping things for
-
you. But he says the way you get it is
-
the way you've got to keep it. And as
-
long as you keep your focus on me, I'll
-
bring stuff into your life. Oh, you can
-
seek after Peanut and Chen and Wilma and
-
Eli. You can you can go after them all
-
day long, but that don't mean that
-
they're going to provide everything you
-
need. Seek first my kingdom, my way of
-
doing things, my mindset, my heart, and
-
then I will add the stuff to you.
-
>> I know what it is to love Jesus, be
-
saved, and not seeking the kingdom.
-
>> Yeah,
-
>> I've done it.
-
>> Like I I'm like a pro. I can speak to
-
this.
-
I love Jesus. Yes, I do. I love Jesus.
-
How about you? Woo. And I could check
-
the box.
-
>> But I wasn't pursuing the kingdom.
-
>> I I thought salvation was it. I gave my
-
life to Jesus. I thought I was done.
-
>> I didn't realize that's only the door.
-
That I got to get in the house.
-
>> That there's more to come. And that's
-
exactly what God's word is laying out
-
and and and focusing us on on
-
understanding that God's way is so much
-
easier when you do it his way and that
-
there's more waiting on us. You see,
-
here's what I need you to know. Kingdom
-
living is a team sport.
-
Look at the person beside you. Don't
-
look at me. Just look at the person
-
beside you. Look, look, look, look,
-
look, look. No, look at him. Seriously.
-
Like, look at him. Look at him. Yeah.
-
Don't kiss them. Just look at them. Like
-
some of y'all like
-
you need that person in your life.
-
Oh yes you do. Oh yes you do. I know
-
their laugh gets on your nerves but you
-
need them in your life.
-
>> Yes. Amen.
-
Understand that the the the church is
-
called the body of Christ.
-
>> The church is called the family of God.
-
And I need you to hear me today. You
-
can't thrive in the kingdom if you're
-
isolated.
-
>> If you're just in and out and
-
disconnected, you'll never experience
-
the kingdomness that God wants you to
-
walk in because disconnection creates
-
dysfunction.
-
>> If I'm trying to do it alone, I've got
-
no one encouraging me in my faith. I'm
-
just living isolated, alone, set apart.
-
I just come kind of come and go. I'm I'm
-
kind of a secret service agent for
-
Jesus. Well, that's there's no position
-
in the kingdom for that. We all family
-
up in here. We need some sister sledge.
-
We are family. Do you understand?
-
Look, all everybody in there don't have
-
a clue what I'm talking about. But
-
that's okay. That's all right. You're in
-
the house, but you never come out of
-
your room.
-
>> You ever had a teenager? You got a drug
-
out of the room. I'm going to take the
-
door off of your room if you don't come
-
out THAT ROOM.
-
COME OUT OF YOUR ROOM.
-
>> You never JOIN US IN THE LIVING ROOM.
-
There's where some peace and some
-
relationships and rest are flowing. YOU
-
NEVER STEP INTO THE DINING ROOM. THAT'S
-
WHERE YOU YOU'RE FED. YOU EAT. YOU GET
-
STRONGER. WE WE'RE NOURISHED TOGETHER
-
AROUND THE TABLE. YOU HAVEN'T GONE TO
-
THE LAUNDRY room to get THE STAINS FROM
-
THE PAST OUT of your life so you can
-
rest in peace and not be afraid with
-
what was there AND BE EXCITED ABOUT
-
WHERE YOU'RE GOING. YOU NEVER COME TO
-
THE WRECK ROOM, THE RECREATION ROOM
-
WHERE YOU CAN HAVE SOME FUN and laughter
-
and encouragement. Get stronger and joy.
-
You we we we got to get out of our room
-
to get into the house. You need the
-
whole house. Somebody shout the whole
-
house.
-
>> The whole house.
-
>> You need the whole house. You need the
-
whole family. You need the whole church.
-
You need the whole kingdom.
-
>> Why? Because there's three big things
-
that I see that this connects with and
-
matters. Number one, the church is the
-
place where you belong.
-
It's a place to belong. Everyone needs
-
to belong.
-
Everybody Everybody needs I even the
-
loner in here, you need to know that you
-
belong to somebody.
-
I I I like watching those reality TV
-
programs. That one was called Alone
-
where people were just kind of by
-
themselves in the wilderness and they
-
had to friend for themselves and and and
-
they're like literally alone and they've
-
got cameras on them or they're just they
-
got to build a place to live and they
-
got to run away from animals or they got
-
to find fish for their own food and and
-
they're just alone. But when they put
-
cameras on them, do you know what the
-
people who are alone talk about? Their
-
family. That's right.
-
>> I just miss my because everybody even
-
when you're alone, you know, you need to
-
belong.
-
>> We all need to belong. We all need to
-
know that there's we're we're connected
-
to a posi. We got a crew around us. A
-
place where you're loved and accepted.
-
People that you can do some life with,
-
where you can serve together, place
-
where you can uh people that you can
-
vacation. You know, we got we got people
-
in this church that are that are
-
traveling all over the world vacation
-
together and they met each other in
-
church. You might be going, "That is
-
whackadoodle do." I'm telling you now,
-
you can meet people right here that will
-
be thicker than blood in your life. Do
-
you understand? They're family like your
-
family's whack. You got some real people
-
here that can kind OF AND AND THERE'S
-
NOTHING like the BODY OF CHRIST. WHY DID
-
THAT HAPPEN? Because it's the
-
kingdomousness thing going on there that
-
we understand that there's more rooms
-
than just my room. And when we start
-
doing it together, it changes
-
everything. You need the church if you
-
people to help you raise your kids.
-
>> Yes. YOU CAN VET BABYSITTERS in this
-
place. Where else do you get to know the
-
parents of the babysitter that you want
-
to bring to your house? Yeah. You you
-
you you find your people here. People
-
who will hurt with you. People who will
-
celebrate with you. We don't do this
-
alone. You need a tribe that will
-
strengthen your faith. Faith. Number
-
one, you you need a place belong. Number
-
two, you need a place to grow. Oh, yes
-
you do. A a a place a place where you
-
can learn. a place where you can change
-
by sitting under the teaching, under the
-
preaching, under worship,
-
coming straight from God's word. And I'm
-
just going to go ahead and go Bible. You
-
need a pastor.
-
>> You don't need a preacher. You need a
-
pastor.
-
>> You hear a lot of preachers on social
-
media. They're not your pastor.
-
>> No, no, no. You You need somebody
-
because the Bible says that a pastor is
-
there to watch out for your soul.
-
and that they they they speak things to
-
empower you with the word that you walk
-
stronger, that your family is covered,
-
that you got some direction when times
-
get cloudy, you get some hope when you
-
walked in without it and now you're
-
leaving with it. You you need some
-
spiritual brothers and sisters in your
-
life to encourage you and to call your
-
tail out.
-
>> I ain't seen you in church. Where are
-
you? I saw what you posted ON SOCIAL
-
MEDIA. WHAT the
-
>> Oh, no. We we we we we we we need a
-
righteous slap in the face sometimes by
-
folks who love us. It's a place where
-
I'm growing. You need to you you better
-
be around somebody WHO CAN CALL YOU OUT.
-
IF you're living in a world that NOBODY
-
CAN CALL YOU OUT, THAT YOU GET TO LIVE
-
ON YOUR OWN. YOU'RE YOUR OWN AUTHORITY.
-
YOU are in the most dangerous place
-
you've ever been in your entire life.
-
You need folks who are close enough that
-
can see, hear, and be have the power,
-
the relational capacity to speak back
-
into your life and to encourage you. We
-
need that in our life. You need a place
-
that will feed you and challenge you.
-
>> There's some days you come to church,
-
you ought to leave here a little bit
-
angry with me.
-
>> I don't even like what he said today.
-
>> I don't even sure if that's in the
-
Bible.
-
And if it is, I might tear that page out
-
myself. If I don't
-
I don't get to do this the way I want to
-
do this.
-
>> I'm going to give account to God one day
-
what I said and what I did not say. I
-
can't I can't start redacting aspects of
-
his word, editing it like it's the
-
Epstein files. I I can't treat God's
-
word this way.
-
I got to give you THE WHOLE BOOK. I
-
CAN'T JUST give you pieces of it.
-
Number three, it's the place of impact.
-
Some of y'all didn't even HEAR THAT
-
POINT. I'M COMING. IT'S THE place of
-
impact. It's the place you belong. It's
-
the place that you grow. And it's the
-
place where you create impact. Listen to
-
me. Salvation,
-
baptism,
-
united in the church.
-
Not not salvation. Baptism hide in my
-
house.
-
>> Oh, no, no, no, no. Salvation, baptism,
-
a part of the kingdom, the community,
-
the family. We're doing some life
-
together. I know that first step feels
-
awkward. I don't know anybody here. And
-
we're doing everything we can to make
-
that as easy as we can. We give you a
-
free drink at Aroma for crying out loud.
-
Like, we want to know you. We want to
-
but but but we want to walk in this
-
together. Together. We we come to
-
advance God's kingdom. It's a place of
-
impact again on earth as it is
-
>> in heaven. That's what these outreaches
-
are for that we're doing for the
-
community. We join together to make
-
impact out there and love people that
-
don't even realize that a church would
-
give or love that way. That's what FLC
-
Sports is all about. That's what Pokeci
-
is all about. All my Pokeci brothers, I
-
love y'all. Like that's what that's what
-
we're doing here. We're part of the
-
family. We wrap arms around folks. We
-
serve on in Sundays together. We invite
-
other people. We're making impact as a
-
kingdom, as a church. This is what we
-
do. It's a place of impact. We don't
-
just come to get. We come to give
-
>> a slice of what God put in us to help
-
someone else's life made better. The
-
people that are sitting around you today
-
should be better because they're sitting
-
close to you.
-
>> They got a smile from someone who
-
doesn't look like them. don't even know
-
who they are and they shook my hand.
-
What the heck is that all about? We
-
happen to like people around here.
-
Sorry. It's kind of how we roll.
-
They close with this.
-
John chapter 10 verse 10 says this.
-
I came that they may have life and have
-
it abundantly.
-
This is Jesus talking.
-
I came that they may have life and have
-
it abundantly. cautious
-
came that they may have life. Jesus
-
said, "I am the door." The door to what?
-
The door to salvation.
-
But he didn't come just to give you
-
salvation.
-
He came to give you life more abundant.
-
The more abundant is the kingdom.
-
>> I came that you would have life,
-
salvation, and have it abundantly.
-
Kingdom.
-
Do not stop with salvation when kingdom
-
is what's waiting on you.
-
>> That you can walk in and live in the
-
promises of God. Can I just remind you a
-
couple things of the benefits of the
-
kingdom? I'm just going to do this
-
quickly. You access it by faith, not
-
because you're great.
-
>> Now, we know you're great and we love
-
you like you are, but just trust me.
-
Your your halo is a little bit tarnished
-
and your wings are missing a couple of
-
feathers. We all have some flaws in our
-
stuff. We can just dismantle all of that
-
stuff. The Bible says in Matthew chapter
Matthew 18 chapter mention
-
18, "Unless you become like the a little
-
child, you'll never enter the kingdom of
-
heaven. It it's it's not my greatness.
-
It's not my stature." It's I realize
-
that he's strong when I'm not. That's
-
what brings me in. I access it by faith.
-
Supernatural understanding is a part of
-
the kingdom benefits. When you get in
-
the house and don't live on the porch,
-
you get inside. Changes everything.
-
Matthew chapter 13 says, "Knowledge of
Matthew 13 chapter mention
-
the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has
-
been given to you." God wants to reveal
-
some answers to you that you can't get
-
anywhere else. It happens inside the
-
house. When you start pursuing, seeking,
-
coming after him, he starts downloading
-
stuff in you that you cannot naturally
-
know and people cannot naturally teach
-
you. Holy Spirit becomes your teacher
-
and he starts to impress you on how to
-
lead and how to deal with the marriage
-
thing. When the counselor has no answer,
-
how to handle your child, how to handle
-
the business situation, give you wisdom
-
on moving forward, how to w- when you
-
feel stuck, how do I move forward, he
-
gives us answers. He reveals secrets of
-
the kingdom from a different realm. He
-
opens our eyes to answers.
-
When you're when you're serving in the
-
kingdom, NOT ON THE PORCH, GLAD YOU'RE
-
SAVED, BUT YOU GOT TO GET THROUGH the
-
threshold. Stop living in almost and get
-
into everything he promised.
-
Benefit unstoppable growth in your life.
-
Oh yeah, this is good. Matthew chapter
Matthew 13 chapter mention
-
13, Jesus said, "The kingdom of heaven
-
is like a mustard seed." Some of y'all
-
saying, "Yeah, that's really little."
-
Well, can I tell you the nature of
-
mustard seed? When you plant it, it
-
takes over everything. It is invasive.
-
It will it grows into trees. it become I
-
mean it will swallow wherever it was
-
allowed to grow. And that's exactly what
-
the Bible is saying. There's an
-
unstoppable growth. It starts small but
-
eventually it covers everything. You
-
see, here's what I'm trying to tell you.
-
You don't see yourself having very much
-
opportunity. I don't see myself as
-
really being spiritual. I don't see
-
myself as doing anything successful in
-
God's house. And so, you see yourself as
-
small as a mustard seed. But Jesus said,
-
"That's exactly how it starts. You just
-
bring what you got and watch me open it
-
up and I will let my growth invade your
-
life and take you further. Give God six
-
months and lift your head and look at
-
where you are and look at what's going
-
on in your house and look at what's
-
happening in your finances doing it
-
God's way. You get God's results. It's
-
called kingdom living.
-
He says in Matthew 16, I'm going to give
-
you authority and access
-
another piece. I'll give you the keys to
-
the kingdom of heaven. Unlock resources
-
to fix the problems on earth. Then then
-
here's the last one, the invitation.
-
Matthew 22,
-
Jesus is telling a parable and he said,
-
"The kingdom of heaven is like a king
-
who prepared a wedding banquet for his
-
son and he invited everybody who wants
-
to come in." Would you just plant to
-
your feet and stand to your feet in this
-
room, please?
-
Everybody is welcome into the kingdom.
-
>> The way you enter the kingdom is through
-
the door of salvation.
-
But don't make the door of salvation
-
your destination. You were made for more
-
than salvation.
-
Salvation is what gives you access to
-
things you never should have had any
-
other way. Never could have gotten any
-
other way. But because you went through
-
the door, you didn't stand at the door.
-
You just didn't stop at the door. I'm
-
not living on the porch. I'm going
-
inside and I'm not isolating in my room.
-
I'm going to get into the living room.
-
I'm going to go to the dining room. I'm
-
going to go to the recck room. I'm going
-
to enjoy everything that he said I can
-
have. I'm going to get with the family.
-
We're going to do some f We're going to
-
do some growing. We're going to be
-
laughing together. We're going to be
-
calling each other out. We're going to
-
be serving together. But this is the
-
kingdom of God.
-
The blueprint Pastor Caleb talked about
-
these past few weeks. Getting on the
-
right operating system. Change your
-
mind, you change your world.
-
>> And when you step into that world, it's
-
it's different.
-
We can live and experience every promise
-
that Jesus said. So again, seek first
-
the kingdom of God above all else and
-
things will be added to us. Today I want
-
to pray with you. I want to pray for
-
you. Would you bow your heads in this
-
room? In fact, I just want to ask you a
-
question. No one looking around if
-
you're saying, "Scott, I've probably
-
been standing on the porch. I haven't
-
been in the house. I got another step I
-
got to take. I realize that I've been
-
sitting at the table and nothing is
-
being delivered and I've been kind of
-
frustrated wondering where God was. But
-
I realize I got to take another step.
-
And today I want to ask God to help me
-
show me what the next step is. On the
-
count of three, just throw your hand up
-
right back down. 1 2 3. Where are you?
-
Oh yeah, my family. I love you. I love
-
you. Been there, done that. I got you. I
-
love that. Today, I want I want us to
-
pray and I and I want I want you to
-
begin to just open your heart. Say,
-
"God, I'm seeking you. I'm I'm coming
-
after you. I want everything you said I
-
can have. I want to know you. I want to
-
experience you. I want to live in your
-
kingdom. Not just on the porch, but
-
every promise. Would you pray with me?
-
Heavenly Father, today we are opening
-
our hearts and we're declaring that we
-
need all of you. Not just not just the
-
fact that we can make heaven our home.
-
Thank you for that rich and amazing gift
-
that Jesus only you could provide that
-
for us. and we say thank you and we
-
worship you for that moment. But Jesus,
-
even even you said that we should be
-
living in the kingdom, not just just
-
staying outside in salvation. And so
-
stepping all the way in and embracing
-
your family and being a part of your
-
kingdom and and and being a part of the
-
answer for this culture, that's exactly
-
who you made us to be. And I pray today,
-
God, for my friends in this room that
-
that that they feel like they they're
-
kind of stuck and they feel like things
-
aren't being delivered and they're
-
living one promise short of everything
-
they thought that you were supposed to
-
bring. God, today I pray you would help
-
us understand that if we'll take another
-
step, if we'll keep seeking, if we'll
-
keep stepping, then our best days are
-
ahead because the kingdom will continue
-
to unfold. And every benefit, every
-
promise, everything in the book that you
-
said comes with your kingdom. We shall
-
experience it. Supernatural answers,
-
growth that we can't even begin to
-
describe, advance in our life, a peace
-
that passes understanding. God, I pray
-
that you would wrap us in this house and
-
let us know that we're a part of your
-
family. We've been adopted in and we
-
can't be kicked out. We are yours. We
-
are you. You are ours and we are in this
-
together. So God, I pray for I pray for
-
a conviction
-
that would not allow us to stay where we
-
are.
-
A righteous frustration
-
that says, "I'm not living this way
-
another month." Something changes today,
-
God. Today we do not want to play with
-
your word or your promises. So stir us,
-
shake us, awaken us that we can
-
experience everything that the kingdom
-
of God came to deliver. We worship you
-
as our king and we say thank you for
-
this today in Jesus name. Everybody said
-
amen. Amen. If you received that, put
-
those hands together today. We hope you
-
enjoyed this message. To hear more
