  1. Okay. Perfect.

  2. So Donna was just sheer kind of a little bit of our story.

  3. Kind of what brought us here and why we're here and because we're

  4. here as a culmination of what God has been doing in our lives

  5. and like all of us, right? And then we love stories and

  6. actually He got saved in high school

  7. through Young Life, High School Ministry and Williamsburg.

  8. I got saved. When I was 12, I was a drop-off

  9. child at church, but I really came into the Lord in college

  10. and we got married in Harrisonburg, you went back to

  11. Williamsburg because his dad was there and we were a part of New

  12. Testament Church for about seven years Church, went through some

  13. things, we were part of a pain. Coastal Church for about seven

  14. years Church. Wednesdays, there is a theme

  15. here but it was actually our boys.

  16. We have six kids, 18 years spread in our children, that

  17. happened to homeschoolers by the way, and our four Sons were

  18. drummers in the coiling for Fife and Drum Corps.

  19. And when that happens, they become employees and we couldn't

  20. get away on the week. It sounded like a house of

  21. woodpeckers. Most.

  22. So we started coming over here, camping.

  23. Been on a whim. We bought a little teeny cinder

  24. block house. So, Holly Beach started coming

  25. there because we could run back in 15 minutes and the Lord just

  26. began to draw our heart to Gloucester County since 2005

  27. 2004. Right after Isabel we bought a

  28. house that we had a heart for and came and I was telling the

  29. Angelina, right? And Adam this morning we had

  30. this strategy we were going to visit churches and be there

  31. three weeks or so. Six weeks, we had a whole list

  32. of what we were looking for. And the first Sunday, we were

  33. here, we went to Lighthouse and kin and Holly invited us over to

  34. lunch, and they actually turned our daughter.

  35. Who was 12 at the time and said, what do you love?

  36. And she says, I love dance. I'm in a dance group and kisses,

  37. well, why don't you do that here?

  38. So they freely offered us the church for in his steps and we

  39. were like, this is what we land. So, so thus saith the Lord we

  40. and, you know, Like there's a saying, the grass is greener on

  41. the other side, we really believe with churches.

  42. The grass is green, everywhere, God's doing something and every

  43. church, it's just where you supposed to be.

  44. And I'm sure, you know, we have a lot of friends, we know

  45. friends at churches everywhere, but, but I'll share this with

  46. you all because you all are laying the block of your church.

  47. And it's so amazing to be able to lay a block, a church from

  48. his foundation houses don't do well with that block.

  49. But wait, when we have been at Lighthouse about a month one day

  50. during worship, I just had this picture and Kenan Holly were

  51. feverishly repairing Foundation, removing block, pretty young and

  52. we didn't even know the story of the church, but we felt like the

  53. Lord said to us. You can trust them because

  54. they're restores and actually, I was telling Angelina's morning.

  55. We're kind of that way too. I like old things, I don't I

  56. have a new and the perfect, so we really were actually

  57. restoring a house. Now that was almost condemned

  58. that we're going to downsize to, but we love seeing lives

  59. restored. That's when we get retired right

  60. now. I'm just tired and you know,

  61. Natalie and I've gotten together a few times and honestly, I'm a

  62. Mike's this way to wear a Shades up, you can ask us anything

  63. about our life. And as a mom, I will tell you, I

  64. believe you, give birth to your Your children twice, you have a

  65. physical birth where you burn your kids.

  66. But the real labor is Burly men to Christ and praying for them

  67. and and part of our story when Mike told me, what he's

  68. preaching on this morning. I was like, okay, yeah, I know

  69. is in our marriage. Mike had a group of guys really

  70. lay a firm foundation in his life in college and probably my

  71. kids, most precious monomeric seeing her dad.

  72. Sitting in the chair, reading the Bible.

  73. And at times I resented that as a busy mom, I wasn't the 5:30

  74. wake up person. I was catching the word whenever

  75. I could, but but I can honestly say the word has been what has

  76. really established our home, and how this guy walks the word.

  77. And so he has an encouraging word.

  78. Hopefully if it's if it's not just raise your hands.

  79. It wouldn't really encouraging and what I found to encourage

  80. you mom's there will be a time. Where your house will be quiet

  81. and you can have uninterrupted quiet times and it's kind of

  82. cool because my grandkids especially with two of my sons

  83. wives, my grandkids know, they can tear through the living

  84. room. I was having her quiet time.

  85. They've learned to respect a quiet time.

  86. You know, they've learned that mama is a brighter mom.

  87. A better mom and she's had time in the word when she's had time

  88. and this week. But my daughter-in-law posted,

  89. this really funny Instagram on to share this with you.

  90. She said, this is me with my ear pods on any given school day,

  91. because she homeschools, if I'm listening to the word or

  92. audiobook and everything's flying, but she's fled, and I'm

  93. thankful that we have a lot of different ways.

  94. Ear pods are great too. So, anyway, that just gives you

  95. a little bit about us and we're Thankful to be here.

  96. We love John, Michael and Natalie and yes, it's an honor

  97. to be with you guys. You guys are awesome and so so

  98. that thanks honey so much. You guys are techno savvy have

  99. the stuff. There we go.

  100. Does it have like if I go on too long?

  101. Does it have like a flashing anything that you like, do they

  102. know you're out of here, guys. Time's up, anyway.

  103. So what the Lord put on my heart was to talk about the Eternal

  104. Word of God and his eternal work in our lives.

  105. So there's a I'm going to cover some ground.

  106. Don't feel like you have to turn if you want to.

  107. You can just listen and soak it in.

  108. But the kind of the Cornerstone, the, the pivotal scripture is as

  109. we all know, John 1:1 that says in the beginning was the word

    John 1:1

  110. and the Word was with God. And the Word was God, he was

  111. with God in the beginning through him all things were made

  112. without him. Nothing was made that has been

  113. made in him was life and that life, excuse me was the light of

  114. all mankind so they pray, Lord, I Thank You.

  115. Lord, that you your plans and purposes are established that

  116. you've created good. Works that we should walk in

  117. them. Lord that you want to reveal

  118. yourself to us and deeper way Lord.

  119. We pray that you would have mercy on us, that you wouldn't

  120. allow us to walk out of here. The same as we walked in Lord.

  121. But you would be able to take this message and change our

  122. hearts in Jesus. His name.

  123. Amen. So I just this isn't like a

  124. preachy preachy word, you know? And sometimes I do that but I

  125. don't think this is that it's kind of like a just a reflection

  126. just can we kind of just share, kind of Reflections on insights

  127. and things about that. So one of the things that God

  128. made apparent to me, a long long time ago, and it's really every

  129. day. I'm reminded of it.

  130. There's like two less. My life, there's two lists in

  131. your life. One is a very, very, very short

  132. list. I only know of two things on

  133. that list. The other is a very long list

  134. that is just goes on and on and on forever.

  135. So, the short list is what this has to do today.

  136. The short list are the Eternal things, right?

  137. The things that last forever, the things that go on the other

  138. things are temporal, and that's our huge list, right?

  139. Because we got to deal with their stuff, we got to deal with

  140. all the details, all the other stuff, but if we lose sight of

  141. the short list, we've really are missing.

  142. We're really fallen short, right?

  143. So he wants to remind us this morning of the shortlist.

  144. One, is the the word of God last forever.

  145. I mean, that scripture just said that it was from the beginning,

  146. all the way through the end. When Jesus comes back, he has a

  147. sharp sword. Two-edged sword in his mouth.

  148. Say when he comes back, there is no more Mercy.

  149. It's all truth, you know. So right now we can, we can ask

  150. for Mercy, we can ask him to change this and all that.

  151. But when he's coming back, I mean, he is the Living Word of

  152. God. Okay?

  153. So when I think about and the other thing has to do with goes

  154. on in your heart and soul, right?

  155. That's Eternal either accept Christ and you have a lordship

  156. relationship with them where you reject him and live for

  157. yourself, right? So let's be shortlisted today,

  158. okay? Going to be short shortlisted be

  159. mindful of that. So have you guys ever struggled

  160. with having quiet times? This this is like time to be

  161. Honest. Right, you're looking at like

  162. the main struggle or here. I've struggled for years and and

  163. being the leader of my family, it's like got to do devotions

  164. like I never had that grown-up like how do you do that as a

  165. guy? You know, how do you lead in

  166. that way? And to be really honest.

  167. So just really struggled and over time he really started

  168. bringing home to me really who he is in the word so it's not

  169. just reading your Bible. I can tell you, I read my Bible

  170. a lot and I'd fall asleep. Reading my Bible.

  171. That's not a bad thing. It's least you're meditating on

  172. the right thing. Sometimes, we're just like Plum

  173. worn out, right? So, But when you approach it,

  174. I'd like to just to think and this may be really simplistic

  175. but I think in some ways it's a paradox in its profound as well.

  176. So when we think of having a dedicated time to spend time in

  177. the word, think of it as being spending time with Jesus being

  178. the word. So when Jesus walked with his

  179. disciples for three and a half years, he was physically with

  180. them and was constantly speaking the word in their lives, but he

  181. left and Guess what? We have.

  182. We have his word. That's what he's left.

  183. Us his word, he's left us. His holy spirit to guide us to

  184. be our Advocate to help us walk in truth.

  185. So when you, when you sit down, we're going to talk about some

  186. tools and some different things when you do have time dedicated

  187. to the Lord, like, think of him as being your source and

  188. sometimes. So, one of the things like, with

  189. technology, this technology sometimes can be a blessing,

  190. right? And technology sometimes can be

  191. a curse and it's a curse because we got so much stuff coming at

  192. us, right? We got messages, we got

  193. Instagram post, we've got done that, that you got notes, you

  194. got everything that you want. And so, sometimes it may be

  195. good. The disciples didn't have all

  196. that, they could just sit and listen to Jesus, right?

  197. So sometimes it may be good to detach right as a strategy is

  198. like you know, that thing is not really helping me here, you

  199. know. No, I'm just going to put that

  200. on, maybe just turn it off. So it's like, okay, I got it,

  201. you know, it's always going to be coming at you.

  202. Now, the enemy of your soul, he does not want you to approach

  203. the word of God. Like a were talking about this

  204. morning, so he is also the prince of the power of the air,

  205. right? Do you think that he has some

  206. influence over your technology? Absolutely.

  207. So part of a lordship relationship so we can start by

  208. thanking them for being our savior, right?

  209. If you've called on the name of the Lord and you know him and

  210. your name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

  211. That is eternal, you're good to go.

  212. But when you're plugging into him and spending time with him

  213. as your Source, think of him as being the source of everything

  214. that Springs up, that's good. So when you draw close to your

  215. Source, he wants to just love on you.

  216. He wants to reveal himself to he'll do that through his word

  217. to do that through his word. So now the Pharisees Jesus was

  218. surrounded by Pharisees. They were always hanging around

  219. him and they're always like challenging.

  220. And I think probably a couple of them got it.

  221. But, you know, the problem with the Pharisees, what was their

  222. problem? They knew the word like crazy.

  223. They knew the law, they knew everything, but you know what?

  224. It His head knowledge, it was a heart knowledge and you need

  225. both, you need you need to increase your understanding of

  226. who he is and the scriptures and and we're going to talk a little

  227. bit about that. But he really wants it to go

  228. beyond your head and into your heart and your life because he's

  229. all about transformation, right? He's all about wanting to

  230. transform us. So that just like I prayed this

  231. morning that we don't walk out of here the same, right?

  232. If you we don't want to just be a have a Monday and Christian

  233. Life, right? We want to get deeper, we want

  234. to know him more. We want him to reveal himself to

  235. us because it's his murse, by his Mercy that he challenges us

  236. is by his Mercy, that he reveals himself is by his Mercy, that he

  237. like gets in her. Right.

  238. And so when you draw close to him and I like it in the morning

  239. because that's before everything is going.

  240. And so I kind of fell into a place, to honor had mentioned,

  241. it of just a rhythm of being able to have dedicated time and

  242. if it's only five minutes, it's okay.

  243. But he will bless whatever you have.

  244. You don't have to like, oh man, I don't have an hour or two like

  245. just spend time of the. Well, I just don't, you know.

  246. So whatever you do, He blesses? Is faithfulness, He blesses,

  247. whatever we have to offer. And in fact, another Paradox in

  248. the scripture is he says, let the weak say I am strong.

  249. So this is an area of weakness is like and I just don't do that

  250. start small and just ask him to bless us, O Lord, I just commit

  251. myself this five minutes or ten minutes.

  252. I want it to be. Distraction-free.

  253. I want it to be just totally dedicated to you for you to do

  254. whatever you want. And he will take that.

  255. It's kind of like your money when he oh, so blessed to see

  256. the little kids like, you know, he will take whatever, we give

  257. him, and grow it and, and multiply it.

  258. And that that's what he wants for us, right?

  259. Because then that's how you can become diligent and faithful by

  260. establishing patterns that are healthy and good, right?

  261. So there's Scripture that says knowledge puffs up, but love

  262. edifies. So the Pharisees, a lot of them

  263. were really puffed, up their knowledge of the word was all

  264. about how people saw them. Oh, you really know a lot of the

  265. Bible. Anyone ever wear?

  266. What you know, on your sleeve like to really impress someone

  267. and it's easy to do, but see what he wants, what what the

  268. Living Word of God wants is he wants to just allow us to draw

  269. close to him as their source so he can bring things up.

  270. So we don't want to miss the Messiah right in front of our

  271. noses like the Pharisees, right? This message is not you ought to

  272. read the word if you're hearing that just shut me out because

  273. that is it's not a not word it's like it's a I believe that God's

  274. heart he has a long to reveal himself he has a longing to love

  275. on you. He is a longing to just affirm

  276. you and encourage you and so our part is is to dedicate time for

  277. that transaction to happen. Amen. so, when we approach the

  278. word, Think of dwelling in him and communing with your creator,

  279. the author and the finisher of your faith, the lover of your

  280. soul. These are all the things that he

  281. is to us, right? And your personal Advocate you

  282. ever feel like you need someone really advocate for you.

  283. He is your Source. He's the one that will do that,

  284. whatever your circumstances, The Good, the Bad, the Ugly just

  285. bring it to him and Beyond it. You know what he, I believe he

  286. really appreciates is honesty. Don't feel like you got to get

  287. your all your act together before you can sit down with

  288. them because if you really try and get your act together,

  289. you'll never do it right. Because I don't know about y'all

  290. my acting together, you know? So.

  291. But what he wants is he just wants us to be who we are, where

  292. we are in the moment with him, but bending our need to him in a

  293. lordship relations. And the lordship relationship is

  294. different than a savior relationship.

  295. A lordship relationship is like okay.

  296. Good. The Bad, the Ugly, whatever I

  297. am, I give it to you. He can handle.

  298. I always always have said this that you and your worst moment

  299. God does not fall off his throne.

  300. There's not a Divine thump, when he sees your sin, your struggles

  301. aren't you? Glad honey, Jesus, man, he knew

  302. our Humanity, he knew our struggles, he knows our

  303. carnality, he knows the things that are coming at us.

  304. He knows the things that are bombarding us and all he wants

  305. is us, just be honest with him. It's like that Lauren.

  306. I'm really struggling. In this area, please help me.

  307. And so that's why you approached him his throne of grace to

  308. obtain. What Mercy, right.

  309. Need mercy. And then, so here's some

  310. professional Reflections on spending time with the word of

  311. God, lean in when you have time to try and hear his heartbeat.

  312. His heartbeat because you know what it is is there and it is

  313. strong but he wants you to hear. The heartbeat is like there's a

  314. scripture that said that, God spoke to Moses face to face, but

  315. he revealed his deeds or his actions to the people.

  316. Now, was that because Moses was really special, nothing Moses,

  317. had a heart to really want to press in.

  318. One of my other favorite scriptures was about Enoch.

  319. You know, what was said, best about Enoch that he Talked with

  320. God and was not. Whoa.

  321. What do you mean? Do you mean he like connected

  322. with his source and and he just loved God and they would walk

  323. together and it's like once you just come with me you don't have

  324. to die in that. Cool that there aren't many

  325. examples like that, David. I mean he was here a lot of

  326. struggles. A lot of things he did right?

  327. What he was really good at is he had a heart after God's Own

  328. Heart. That's what God said about him.

  329. How do you like God to call you his friend?

  330. We know what he is. Is and he calls you his friend.

  331. Jesus said that, I know I call you servants, but I call you

  332. friends. So anyways, so when you lean in

  333. to hear him ask him to whisper to you.

  334. Whoo, you can't hear a whisper. Can you if there's a lot of

  335. other noise, right? Static and believe me.

  336. The enemy wants to throw as much static as you as possible,

  337. because the last thing he wants is for you to hear the whisper

  338. the intimate Whisper of God in your life.

  339. You want to hear something? I didn't really think about this

  340. but Donna said I got saved in North Carolina at a young life

  341. camp and I wasn't really interested in hearing about a

  342. lot of messages. But I had to because I was there

  343. is like a sports camp and the guy who is kind of like the

  344. leader who had been praying with me, praying for me ever since he

  345. met me, he had this huge Bible, Eddie intersecting.

  346. The only time I was really by myself and I was in a In

  347. standing because, hey, you want to take a walk?

  348. And I looked at the Bible go. I'll sure, you know, and we sat

  349. there and I did he ask me questions and all that but he

  350. was making a really cool thing at that Summit.

  351. I reconciled and struggled with some things, but I prayed three

  352. words, I need you. And at that point, the Lord came

  353. into my life and just changed me and started a process.

  354. A relationship where I felt like my place of residence.

  355. He changed that it's not here. It's heaven.

  356. The father win that I had growing up.

  357. Anyone have father wanted, you know.

  358. Yeah, he like filled that to a large extent, a large extent.

  359. So what school? I have to travel a lot for my

  360. work and I was flying back from Chicago.

  361. I think into Charlotte, will you have to go over to the Smoky

  362. Mountains and all that? I look out the window is.

  363. It was late afternoon and the most beautiful wispy clouds were

  364. there never seen. Clouds like that.

  365. I mean they're like I guess cirrus clouds but just as I was

  366. just amazed and and the sun was setting and it was like golden

  367. and just incredible things and it was in August and Lord told

  368. me that's our anniversary of when we met.

  369. And it was right over that spot. And that's the love of God

  370. because I don't deserve that. So, when you hear his Whisper of

  371. affirmation affection and direction, Place yourself under

  372. his authority. As the Eternal Word of God,

  373. think of him as your first love. Give him your first fruits of

  374. time and affection. And then a firm his lordship of

  375. your life. Not just your salvation.

  376. So there are several ministries of the word of God in your life.

  377. And there's through that, I really wanted to focus on one is

  378. the cleansing from the word. One is the Revelation from his

  379. word and the third is the Vitality that he gives from his

  380. word. So, firstly, cleansing the Mind.

  381. Think of the word of God as a waterfall.

  382. Anyone like waterfalls? Picture yourself, there's a time

  383. where it's like, man, I just need to sit under a waterfall

  384. and just get refreshed and if I ever had my ideal property, it

  385. would have a waterfall and I don't think they exist but I

  386. think everyone else is claim them, but I just love that.

  387. And when we came to light house, we were kind of like burnout and

  388. kind of need it. And we needed to place herself

  389. under the waterfall of the word of God, the ministry of the word

  390. of God and clear, hot stuff. So, A waterfall at times.

  391. Will bring refreshing cleansing and specially.

  392. If you're struggling with weariness, you just fatigued.

  393. Just worn out if you're struggling with anxious

  394. thoughts. That a lot of anxiety, struggle

  395. with depression, even filthy thoughts, that washing of the

  396. word will cleanse your mind. Amen.

  397. So there's three things in a lordship relation, it's all

  398. about submitting, bending your knee.

  399. Amen. He wants us to submit to the

  400. teaching of the word he wants us to submit to the preaching of

  401. the word. So what does that mean to submit

  402. to those things as like, okay, I want you to change me.

  403. I just don't want to know more. I want you to change me.

  404. I want you to, like, Light Me Up.

  405. And you know what he did, he didn't need much of an

  406. invitation because he he's like, it's like the the river of the

  407. Living God is Flowing from the Throne of God into our lives.

  408. And so, if you open yourself up, so Lord just cause your word to

  409. flow in my life, he will do that.

  410. And if it's just a trickle, if it could be a Niagara Falls,

  411. maybe you just don't know, you know, but he wants.

  412. He has so much to give you and then so there's some tools that

  413. we have Least and this is not exhaustive down in mentioned it

  414. a little bit. You know what I love to do

  415. sometimes is I have anyone have you version on your phone?

  416. You know that I do that, but I like to hear it sometimes just

  417. an audio and just listen, sometimes I'll read along to but

  418. I'll just like want to get really practical.

  419. It's like what? I need to hear your verbally.

  420. Yeah. Because sometimes I read things

  421. as like. It didn't quite go.

  422. The same way your feel like you get stale sometimes like in your

  423. purse, so sometimes it's good to change.

  424. Get up, right? Anyone here really good at

  425. scripture memorization I balked at that big time.

  426. What I was you know because like I'm not a chapter text in verse

  427. guys like yeah I know I just I just my I don't know, maybe I

  428. had a bad childhood experience, I don't know but I had a hard

  429. time with that now I don't have a problem at all with truth so I

  430. know a lot of his truth from spending time and having his

  431. deposit go in my life. So memorizing the passages and

  432. just seeing him over and over and over again.

  433. It'll start to really sink in Anyone ever have a promise book

  434. you ever use that that was like popular back in the 80s or so

  435. like the Jesus pocket promise book.

  436. I'm really showing my age now. But anyways, he has so many

  437. promises and there. Yea and amen in your life.

  438. So start to do, especially if you struggle with negative

  439. thoughts, doubt fear. You know, that in that realm,

  440. it's like, Lord, I need to know your promise because what it

  441. Will do is, it'll really encourage you to build up your

  442. faith because without faith. It's what impossible to see God,

  443. right? So he wants to build up our

  444. faith. So, that's another thing is to

  445. really meditate on his promises. And when you read them, it's

  446. like, that's not, that's for someone else, think of it as

  447. like, no, thank you, that's for me.

  448. Insert your name in that promise, when you're praying for

  449. a loved one, insert their name, that prop, make it personal

  450. Sometimes I need a big picture approach.

  451. That means reading through the Bible, over a certain period of

  452. time, reading the Old Testament, New Testament.

  453. Psalms and Proverbs there's lots of programs to do that.

  454. That's a good. That's a good method as well.

  455. Last 15 minutes. Oh sorry, was that my cue to?

  456. Alright. Anyways, so the big picture

  457. approach is really and all these.

  458. I mean, there's a lot of different approaches.

  459. Another thing that's really important is to enjoy trying to

  460. establish an anchor list. Anyone know what an anchor list

  461. is anyone? Like the water you ever been on

  462. a boat out, on the water you ever?

  463. If you don't have an anchor, you're in a world of hurt,

  464. right? If so if a nor'easter blows up

  465. and you're out there and I've I have I'm on, when I had a boat,

  466. I was on personal speed, dial with Seto, I was not, I was not

  467. very good, and Donna worried a lot, because we were stranded

  468. many times out of boats. But anyways, an anchor.

  469. So, if you have an anchor, an anchor for your soul, is this,

  470. this is your testimony. This is what God has done that.

  471. No one can argue with no one can refute.

  472. It's an immutable truth in your life.

  473. It's personal to you. Write it down and you know it.

  474. So when you Have a struggling time when you feel like you're

  475. being just battered with the waves and the wind, and the

  476. chaos, and the churn, and all that, go to your anchor, drop

  477. anchor drop anchor by saying. Lord, I Thank you that you saved

  478. me on this day. Lord, I Thank you that you fill

  479. me with your Holy Spirit. Lord, I Thank you for what

  480. you've spoken to me. I thank you for what you've

  481. done. I thank you for and you go to

  482. the zinc, drop anchor. And that's a really important

  483. strategy in being an approach God because then it creates you

  484. start off with being think once to the needy.

  485. A lot of times when we approach the lord it's like I need this.

  486. I need that. Yes.

  487. And we have our list, right? And he understands all that, he

  488. knows what we need even before we ask him but it's just helpful

  489. to be able to approach him from the right context.

  490. So let's talk a little bit about Revelation Spirit of Revelation.

  491. Now John, anyone love John, John was great.

  492. John was the only of the disciples that was not martyred.

  493. They tried. They bought him an oil, can you

  494. imagine that? But he survived it because Jesus

  495. said that he was not going to, that was not his walk, all the

  496. other ones, they gave up their lives as Martyrs.

  497. That's what it means to be an apostle.

  498. Any Apostles in here, guess what?

  499. Yeah. But we are called all called to

  500. be sent ones. We're all called to make an

  501. impact, right? So John was special in a couple

  502. ways. He struggled with position

  503. priority and all that his mom Eagle 2.

  504. That wanted to make sure that James and John were right next

  505. to Jesus, you know, at the resurrection and all that, the

  506. other disciples didn't really care for that too much, but he

  507. was the one that Jesus on the cross, his last dying breath

  508. gave charged his mother. And he said, behold your son to

  509. John job was the only one at the cross.

  510. You know, it was not a popular time to be a follower.

  511. He also was the one that was exiled on the island of Patmos

  512. and received the Book of Revelation.

  513. And I'm so glad for John, but John, the picture of John was,

  514. he's the guy that the other disciples would go to kind of,

  515. get the inside track on what Jesus was thinking.

  516. John had a way of being out of lean into Jesus and hear his

  517. heartbeat. And the picture in the last

  518. supper was, he was reclining. They're all, you know, he was

  519. reclining and he was really close in proximity to Jesus and

  520. Jesus shared like, who was going to betray him.

  521. So was John, had an inside track.

  522. We can be like John So when he asked the Lord, when you lean

  523. into him, ask him to soften your heart and stop your ears and

  524. open your eyes to understand him and see him as he really is.

  525. Amen. And a fission is 117.

  526. This is, this is a great prayer. Says I keep asking that the god

  527. of our Lord Jesus Christ, The Glorious father, may give you

  528. the spirit of wisdom and Revelation so that you may know

  529. him better. You can pray that look, give me

  530. a spirit of wisdom and Revelation so I can really see

  531. you. Reveal yourself.

  532. That's what Revelation means is a revealing.

  533. That's what he wants to do. He wants to reveal himself.

  534. Hmm. The word as a in the area of

  535. Revelation, the word is a seedbed of Revelation in your

  536. life. So as you deposit the word in

  537. your heart and you build up your reserves of the word of God,

  538. think of it. That way, you build up reserves

  539. so that when you need it, it's there.

  540. Okay, he will speak and use that and cause that to come alive,

  541. come alive to you to be able to encourage you but also to use

  542. you in other people's lives. Amen.

  543. So Jesus spoke the words of life to his disciples, he showed them

  544. his ways. And then he taught them how to

  545. use those ways in those words to feed others.

  546. You ever see on the bottom of the like a coke bottle.

  547. Something no deposit, no return. You know, what does that mean?

  548. Yeah, that means you know, maybe if you turn it in, you get

  549. something back. Well our approach to the word is

  550. the same way if we don't deposit.

  551. And get deposits of the word coming into our life and it

  552. becoming something that just becomes a part of this.

  553. There's no return on investment because there's nothing to draw

  554. from you're overdrawn and he wants us to have be rich in the

  555. word. So think of yourself, we have a

  556. lot of kids in here. A lot of women and men.

  557. Think of yourself. Personalizes said, Lord help me

  558. to be A father, the word help me to be a husband of the word

  559. Lord. Help me to be a follower of your

  560. word. Help me to be a daughter of the

  561. word. How many be a son of you and

  562. think of yourself as a person of the word?

  563. That's your identity, you know? So this is a shift, right?

  564. So it's not just about trying to just figure out bits and pieces

  565. of it. It's like, man, I want to be in

  566. your truth. I want to be in that flow.

  567. So when you become a person of the word, you don't, Because you

  568. become more eternally, minded more Kingdom Minded.

  569. Why? Because that's what his word is

  570. all about. And then you're going to be

  571. aligning yourself to his heart and his ways and then yeah, it's

  572. going to be like automatic when he uses you you know it because

  573. there's stuff. It's just going to be flowing

  574. out of you. People say what is it about you?

  575. Why are you so happy obey it? I've got love, joy, peace,

  576. patience, kindness the fruit of the spirit will your roots are

  577. going down in the word. Your roots are going down so

  578. that he can he can do that Eternal work in you.

  579. We don't want to be kind of Christians with a lot of fake

  580. fruit. Right?

  581. You ever try and bite into something that looks good but

  582. it's plastic not quite filling, right?

  583. There's another saying any fisherman in the room Alright,

  584. catch and release. Or filet and release.

  585. I don't know. Catcher to catch and release.

  586. So when you're spending time of the word and you catch something

  587. ask the Lord to show you how to release it.

  588. Like what is that for? Is that for me separate?

  589. So in this in this Fellowship, in this church, The word of the

  590. Lord needs to come in and he's going to do that through you

  591. guys. He wants to activate you also,

  592. there's like that I got to work. Lord, give me wisdom to know how

  593. to release that word. Amen.

  594. So he'll drumset, he'll drop something in your spirit for

  595. someone else, he loves doing that.

  596. He loves to us to be just PVC for his kingdom.

  597. Amen. So my prayer always is Lord.

  598. Just help me get the heck out of the way, you know?

  599. And even today, so read here and meditate on Words of Prophecy.

  600. If you want to the Lord to use you in the prophetic, receiving

  601. Revelation, to be able to share with other people to give life

  602. and other people. I've spent a lot of time

  603. sometimes, like, just Going through the Minor Prophets, The

  604. Major Prophets, and allow that to posit to kind of Bubble Up.

  605. And then, and the audio Bible is really good for that.

  606. So, the third area is in the area of Vitality or Life.

  607. John 6:63 says, the spirit gives life, the flesh counts for

    John 6:63

  608. nothing. The words, I have spoken to you.

  609. They're full of the spirit of Life, spirit and Life, John 648,

  610. and John lot of passages from John Wright.

  611. Jesus said, I am Am the bread of life so when you it's not just a

  612. knowledge thing but he wants to be able to just bring to life

  613. vitality and stuff. So it's kind of like Needing CPR

  614. and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

  615. So it's like and he wants to just like we are formed, you

  616. know, Adam was formed by him breathing in the very Breath of

  617. God, in a bunch of dirt, you know, and he wants to do that,

  618. he's available to do that. so when we come in Devotion to him

  619. and submit ourselves to his word, he wants to take, if we

  620. have anxiety, he can translate that to Peace by the Just

  621. speaking and breathing on his word in your life he can he can

  622. change. Worry to Faith confusion to Hope

  623. bondage if you're in any kind of bondage to Freedom, despair to

  624. praise, and the picture really is just the tree of life.

  625. He wants you to be a tree of life, with lots of fruit, that

  626. is, for other people to enjoy, and then Psalm 119, 130 says,

  627. the unfolding of your words gives light, it gives

  628. understanding to the simple. So he wants to take his word and

  629. then fold it. Sometimes we don't get it all at

  630. the same time, right? We don't get a download

  631. immediately of everything he wants to do, but sometimes,

  632. he'll just give us a line, chapter a verse in the book of

  633. our lives. But he wants to expand on it and

  634. then because he knows what we can handle, right?

  635. He doesn't like, give you like a download expect, you understand

  636. everything, 100% all the time because he knows has amen.

  637. So in closing, the passage of scripture that kind of sums all

  638. this up is in Isaiah, 55 10 through 11, the Lord says the

  639. rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return to it

  640. without watering the Earth and making it bud and flourish.

  641. So that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater.

  642. So is my word that goes out from my mouth.

  643. It will not return to me, empty, but will accomplish what I

  644. desire and achieve the purpose. For which I sent it and all

  645. God's people said, amen, we pray for you.

  646. Okay, Lord, I Thank you, Lord, for your Eternal Word but we ask

  647. that you would just help us to Fall in Love with You.

  648. Lord more that you would help us to see you Lord as you really

  649. are, the lover of our soul or the author and finisher of our

  650. faith. Lord, our friend Lord, I Thank

  651. you for these people, Lord, for what you're doing in our lives

  652. and we commit ourselves to you learn, pray that you would have

  653. your way and you work in the it you'd help us to know you.

  654. More in Jesus's name. Amen.

  655. Oh, that's a good word there. Give it here so and and all the

  656. people said good, it's over. Thank you, anyways.

  657. God bless you guys. We're available.

  658. If you guys want prayer for anything, I mean not that we

  659. have answers but we can receive
