Okay. Perfect.
-
So Donna was just sheer kind of a little bit of our story.
-
Kind of what brought us here and why we're here and because we're
-
here as a culmination of what God has been doing in our lives
-
and like all of us, right? And then we love stories and
-
actually He got saved in high school
-
through Young Life, High School Ministry and Williamsburg.
-
I got saved. When I was 12, I was a drop-off
-
child at church, but I really came into the Lord in college
-
and we got married in Harrisonburg, you went back to
-
Williamsburg because his dad was there and we were a part of New
-
Testament Church for about seven years Church, went through some
-
things, we were part of a pain. Coastal Church for about seven
-
years Church. Wednesdays, there is a theme
-
here but it was actually our boys.
-
We have six kids, 18 years spread in our children, that
-
happened to homeschoolers by the way, and our four Sons were
-
drummers in the coiling for Fife and Drum Corps.
-
And when that happens, they become employees and we couldn't
-
get away on the week. It sounded like a house of
-
woodpeckers. Most.
-
So we started coming over here, camping.
-
Been on a whim. We bought a little teeny cinder
-
block house. So, Holly Beach started coming
-
there because we could run back in 15 minutes and the Lord just
-
began to draw our heart to Gloucester County since 2005
-
2004. Right after Isabel we bought a
-
house that we had a heart for and came and I was telling the
-
Angelina, right? And Adam this morning we had
-
this strategy we were going to visit churches and be there
-
three weeks or so. Six weeks, we had a whole list
-
of what we were looking for. And the first Sunday, we were
-
here, we went to Lighthouse and kin and Holly invited us over to
-
lunch, and they actually turned our daughter.
-
Who was 12 at the time and said, what do you love?
-
And she says, I love dance. I'm in a dance group and kisses,
-
well, why don't you do that here?
-
So they freely offered us the church for in his steps and we
-
were like, this is what we land. So, so thus saith the Lord we
-
and, you know, Like there's a saying, the grass is greener on
-
the other side, we really believe with churches.
-
The grass is green, everywhere, God's doing something and every
-
church, it's just where you supposed to be.
-
And I'm sure, you know, we have a lot of friends, we know
-
friends at churches everywhere, but, but I'll share this with
-
you all because you all are laying the block of your church.
-
And it's so amazing to be able to lay a block, a church from
-
his foundation houses don't do well with that block.
-
But wait, when we have been at Lighthouse about a month one day
-
during worship, I just had this picture and Kenan Holly were
-
feverishly repairing Foundation, removing block, pretty young and
-
we didn't even know the story of the church, but we felt like the
-
Lord said to us. You can trust them because
-
they're restores and actually, I was telling Angelina's morning.
-
We're kind of that way too. I like old things, I don't I
-
have a new and the perfect, so we really were actually
-
restoring a house. Now that was almost condemned
-
that we're going to downsize to, but we love seeing lives
-
restored. That's when we get retired right
-
now. I'm just tired and you know,
-
Natalie and I've gotten together a few times and honestly, I'm a
-
Mike's this way to wear a Shades up, you can ask us anything
-
about our life. And as a mom, I will tell you, I
-
believe you, give birth to your Your children twice, you have a
-
physical birth where you burn your kids.
-
But the real labor is Burly men to Christ and praying for them
-
and and part of our story when Mike told me, what he's
-
preaching on this morning. I was like, okay, yeah, I know
-
is in our marriage. Mike had a group of guys really
-
lay a firm foundation in his life in college and probably my
-
kids, most precious monomeric seeing her dad.
-
Sitting in the chair, reading the Bible.
-
And at times I resented that as a busy mom, I wasn't the 5:30
-
wake up person. I was catching the word whenever
-
I could, but but I can honestly say the word has been what has
-
really established our home, and how this guy walks the word.
-
And so he has an encouraging word.
-
Hopefully if it's if it's not just raise your hands.
-
It wouldn't really encouraging and what I found to encourage
-
you mom's there will be a time. Where your house will be quiet
-
and you can have uninterrupted quiet times and it's kind of
-
cool because my grandkids especially with two of my sons
-
wives, my grandkids know, they can tear through the living
-
room. I was having her quiet time.
-
They've learned to respect a quiet time.
-
You know, they've learned that mama is a brighter mom.
-
A better mom and she's had time in the word when she's had time
-
and this week. But my daughter-in-law posted,
-
this really funny Instagram on to share this with you.
-
She said, this is me with my ear pods on any given school day,
-
because she homeschools, if I'm listening to the word or
-
audiobook and everything's flying, but she's fled, and I'm
-
thankful that we have a lot of different ways.
-
Ear pods are great too. So, anyway, that just gives you
-
a little bit about us and we're Thankful to be here.
-
We love John, Michael and Natalie and yes, it's an honor
-
to be with you guys. You guys are awesome and so so
-
that thanks honey so much. You guys are techno savvy have
-
the stuff. There we go.
-
Does it have like if I go on too long?
-
Does it have like a flashing anything that you like, do they
-
know you're out of here, guys. Time's up, anyway.
-
So what the Lord put on my heart was to talk about the Eternal
-
Word of God and his eternal work in our lives.
-
So there's a I'm going to cover some ground.
-
Don't feel like you have to turn if you want to.
-
You can just listen and soak it in.
-
But the kind of the Cornerstone, the, the pivotal scripture is as
-
we all know, John 1:1 that says in the beginning was the word
-
and the Word was with God. And the Word was God, he was
-
with God in the beginning through him all things were made
-
without him. Nothing was made that has been
-
made in him was life and that life, excuse me was the light of
-
all mankind so they pray, Lord, I Thank You.
-
Lord, that you your plans and purposes are established that
-
you've created good. Works that we should walk in
-
them. Lord that you want to reveal
-
yourself to us and deeper way Lord.
-
We pray that you would have mercy on us, that you wouldn't
-
allow us to walk out of here. The same as we walked in Lord.
-
But you would be able to take this message and change our
-
hearts in Jesus. His name.
-
Amen. So I just this isn't like a
-
preachy preachy word, you know? And sometimes I do that but I
-
don't think this is that it's kind of like a just a reflection
-
just can we kind of just share, kind of Reflections on insights
-
and things about that. So one of the things that God
-
made apparent to me, a long long time ago, and it's really every
-
day. I'm reminded of it.
-
There's like two less. My life, there's two lists in
-
your life. One is a very, very, very short
-
list. I only know of two things on
-
that list. The other is a very long list
-
that is just goes on and on and on forever.
-
So, the short list is what this has to do today.
-
The short list are the Eternal things, right?
-
The things that last forever, the things that go on the other
-
things are temporal, and that's our huge list, right?
-
Because we got to deal with their stuff, we got to deal with
-
all the details, all the other stuff, but if we lose sight of
-
the short list, we've really are missing.
-
We're really fallen short, right?
-
So he wants to remind us this morning of the shortlist.
-
One, is the the word of God last forever.
-
I mean, that scripture just said that it was from the beginning,
-
all the way through the end. When Jesus comes back, he has a
-
sharp sword. Two-edged sword in his mouth.
-
Say when he comes back, there is no more Mercy.
-
It's all truth, you know. So right now we can, we can ask
-
for Mercy, we can ask him to change this and all that.
-
But when he's coming back, I mean, he is the Living Word of
-
God. Okay?
-
So when I think about and the other thing has to do with goes
-
on in your heart and soul, right?
-
That's Eternal either accept Christ and you have a lordship
-
relationship with them where you reject him and live for
-
yourself, right? So let's be shortlisted today,
-
okay? Going to be short shortlisted be
-
mindful of that. So have you guys ever struggled
-
with having quiet times? This this is like time to be
-
Honest. Right, you're looking at like
-
the main struggle or here. I've struggled for years and and
-
being the leader of my family, it's like got to do devotions
-
like I never had that grown-up like how do you do that as a
-
guy? You know, how do you lead in
-
that way? And to be really honest.
-
So just really struggled and over time he really started
-
bringing home to me really who he is in the word so it's not
-
just reading your Bible. I can tell you, I read my Bible
-
a lot and I'd fall asleep. Reading my Bible.
-
That's not a bad thing. It's least you're meditating on
-
the right thing. Sometimes, we're just like Plum
-
worn out, right? So, But when you approach it,
-
I'd like to just to think and this may be really simplistic
-
but I think in some ways it's a paradox in its profound as well.
-
So when we think of having a dedicated time to spend time in
-
the word, think of it as being spending time with Jesus being
-
the word. So when Jesus walked with his
-
disciples for three and a half years, he was physically with
-
them and was constantly speaking the word in their lives, but he
-
left and Guess what? We have.
-
We have his word. That's what he's left.
-
Us his word, he's left us. His holy spirit to guide us to
-
be our Advocate to help us walk in truth.
-
So when you, when you sit down, we're going to talk about some
-
tools and some different things when you do have time dedicated
-
to the Lord, like, think of him as being your source and
-
sometimes. So, one of the things like, with
-
technology, this technology sometimes can be a blessing,
-
right? And technology sometimes can be
-
a curse and it's a curse because we got so much stuff coming at
-
us, right? We got messages, we got
-
Instagram post, we've got done that, that you got notes, you
-
got everything that you want. And so, sometimes it may be
-
good. The disciples didn't have all
-
that, they could just sit and listen to Jesus, right?
-
So sometimes it may be good to detach right as a strategy is
-
like you know, that thing is not really helping me here, you
-
know. No, I'm just going to put that
-
on, maybe just turn it off. So it's like, okay, I got it,
-
you know, it's always going to be coming at you.
-
Now, the enemy of your soul, he does not want you to approach
-
the word of God. Like a were talking about this
-
morning, so he is also the prince of the power of the air,
-
right? Do you think that he has some
-
influence over your technology? Absolutely.
-
So part of a lordship relationship so we can start by
-
thanking them for being our savior, right?
-
If you've called on the name of the Lord and you know him and
-
your name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life.
-
That is eternal, you're good to go.
-
But when you're plugging into him and spending time with him
-
as your Source, think of him as being the source of everything
-
that Springs up, that's good. So when you draw close to your
-
Source, he wants to just love on you.
-
He wants to reveal himself to he'll do that through his word
-
to do that through his word. So now the Pharisees Jesus was
-
surrounded by Pharisees. They were always hanging around
-
him and they're always like challenging.
-
And I think probably a couple of them got it.
-
But, you know, the problem with the Pharisees, what was their
-
problem? They knew the word like crazy.
-
They knew the law, they knew everything, but you know what?
-
It His head knowledge, it was a heart knowledge and you need
-
both, you need you need to increase your understanding of
-
who he is and the scriptures and and we're going to talk a little
-
bit about that. But he really wants it to go
-
beyond your head and into your heart and your life because he's
-
all about transformation, right? He's all about wanting to
-
transform us. So that just like I prayed this
-
morning that we don't walk out of here the same, right?
-
If you we don't want to just be a have a Monday and Christian
-
Life, right? We want to get deeper, we want
-
to know him more. We want him to reveal himself to
-
us because it's his murse, by his Mercy that he challenges us
-
is by his Mercy, that he reveals himself is by his Mercy, that he
-
like gets in her. Right.
-
And so when you draw close to him and I like it in the morning
-
because that's before everything is going.
-
And so I kind of fell into a place, to honor had mentioned,
-
it of just a rhythm of being able to have dedicated time and
-
if it's only five minutes, it's okay.
-
But he will bless whatever you have.
-
You don't have to like, oh man, I don't have an hour or two like
-
just spend time of the. Well, I just don't, you know.
-
So whatever you do, He blesses? Is faithfulness, He blesses,
-
whatever we have to offer. And in fact, another Paradox in
-
the scripture is he says, let the weak say I am strong.
-
So this is an area of weakness is like and I just don't do that
-
start small and just ask him to bless us, O Lord, I just commit
-
myself this five minutes or ten minutes.
-
I want it to be. Distraction-free.
-
I want it to be just totally dedicated to you for you to do
-
whatever you want. And he will take that.
-
It's kind of like your money when he oh, so blessed to see
-
the little kids like, you know, he will take whatever, we give
-
him, and grow it and, and multiply it.
-
And that that's what he wants for us, right?
-
Because then that's how you can become diligent and faithful by
-
establishing patterns that are healthy and good, right?
-
So there's Scripture that says knowledge puffs up, but love
-
edifies. So the Pharisees, a lot of them
-
were really puffed, up their knowledge of the word was all
-
about how people saw them. Oh, you really know a lot of the
-
Bible. Anyone ever wear?
-
What you know, on your sleeve like to really impress someone
-
and it's easy to do, but see what he wants, what what the
-
Living Word of God wants is he wants to just allow us to draw
-
close to him as their source so he can bring things up.
-
So we don't want to miss the Messiah right in front of our
-
noses like the Pharisees, right? This message is not you ought to
-
read the word if you're hearing that just shut me out because
-
that is it's not a not word it's like it's a I believe that God's
-
heart he has a long to reveal himself he has a longing to love
-
on you. He is a longing to just affirm
-
you and encourage you and so our part is is to dedicate time for
-
that transaction to happen. Amen. so, when we approach the
-
word, Think of dwelling in him and communing with your creator,
-
the author and the finisher of your faith, the lover of your
-
soul. These are all the things that he
-
is to us, right? And your personal Advocate you
-
ever feel like you need someone really advocate for you.
-
He is your Source. He's the one that will do that,
-
whatever your circumstances, The Good, the Bad, the Ugly just
-
bring it to him and Beyond it. You know what he, I believe he
-
really appreciates is honesty. Don't feel like you got to get
-
your all your act together before you can sit down with
-
them because if you really try and get your act together,
-
you'll never do it right. Because I don't know about y'all
-
my acting together, you know? So.
-
But what he wants is he just wants us to be who we are, where
-
we are in the moment with him, but bending our need to him in a
-
lordship relations. And the lordship relationship is
-
different than a savior relationship.
-
A lordship relationship is like okay.
-
Good. The Bad, the Ugly, whatever I
-
am, I give it to you. He can handle.
-
I always always have said this that you and your worst moment
-
God does not fall off his throne.
-
There's not a Divine thump, when he sees your sin, your struggles
-
aren't you? Glad honey, Jesus, man, he knew
-
our Humanity, he knew our struggles, he knows our
-
carnality, he knows the things that are coming at us.
-
He knows the things that are bombarding us and all he wants
-
is us, just be honest with him. It's like that Lauren.
-
I'm really struggling. In this area, please help me.
-
And so that's why you approached him his throne of grace to
-
obtain. What Mercy, right.
-
Need mercy. And then, so here's some
-
professional Reflections on spending time with the word of
-
God, lean in when you have time to try and hear his heartbeat.
-
His heartbeat because you know what it is is there and it is
-
strong but he wants you to hear. The heartbeat is like there's a
-
scripture that said that, God spoke to Moses face to face, but
-
he revealed his deeds or his actions to the people.
-
Now, was that because Moses was really special, nothing Moses,
-
had a heart to really want to press in.
-
One of my other favorite scriptures was about Enoch.
-
You know, what was said, best about Enoch that he Talked with
-
God and was not. Whoa.
-
What do you mean? Do you mean he like connected
-
with his source and and he just loved God and they would walk
-
together and it's like once you just come with me you don't have
-
to die in that. Cool that there aren't many
-
examples like that, David. I mean he was here a lot of
-
struggles. A lot of things he did right?
-
What he was really good at is he had a heart after God's Own
-
Heart. That's what God said about him.
-
How do you like God to call you his friend?
-
We know what he is. Is and he calls you his friend.
-
Jesus said that, I know I call you servants, but I call you
-
friends. So anyways, so when you lean in
-
to hear him ask him to whisper to you.
-
Whoo, you can't hear a whisper. Can you if there's a lot of
-
other noise, right? Static and believe me.
-
The enemy wants to throw as much static as you as possible,
-
because the last thing he wants is for you to hear the whisper
-
the intimate Whisper of God in your life.
-
You want to hear something? I didn't really think about this
-
but Donna said I got saved in North Carolina at a young life
-
camp and I wasn't really interested in hearing about a
-
lot of messages. But I had to because I was there
-
is like a sports camp and the guy who is kind of like the
-
leader who had been praying with me, praying for me ever since he
-
met me, he had this huge Bible, Eddie intersecting.
-
The only time I was really by myself and I was in a In
-
standing because, hey, you want to take a walk?
-
And I looked at the Bible go. I'll sure, you know, and we sat
-
there and I did he ask me questions and all that but he
-
was making a really cool thing at that Summit.
-
I reconciled and struggled with some things, but I prayed three
-
words, I need you. And at that point, the Lord came
-
into my life and just changed me and started a process.
-
A relationship where I felt like my place of residence.
-
He changed that it's not here. It's heaven.
-
The father win that I had growing up.
-
Anyone have father wanted, you know.
-
Yeah, he like filled that to a large extent, a large extent.
-
So what school? I have to travel a lot for my
-
work and I was flying back from Chicago.
-
I think into Charlotte, will you have to go over to the Smoky
-
Mountains and all that? I look out the window is.
-
It was late afternoon and the most beautiful wispy clouds were
-
there never seen. Clouds like that.
-
I mean they're like I guess cirrus clouds but just as I was
-
just amazed and and the sun was setting and it was like golden
-
and just incredible things and it was in August and Lord told
-
me that's our anniversary of when we met.
-
And it was right over that spot. And that's the love of God
-
because I don't deserve that. So, when you hear his Whisper of
-
affirmation affection and direction, Place yourself under
-
his authority. As the Eternal Word of God,
-
think of him as your first love. Give him your first fruits of
-
time and affection. And then a firm his lordship of
-
your life. Not just your salvation.
-
So there are several ministries of the word of God in your life.
-
And there's through that, I really wanted to focus on one is
-
the cleansing from the word. One is the Revelation from his
-
word and the third is the Vitality that he gives from his
-
word. So, firstly, cleansing the Mind.
-
Think of the word of God as a waterfall.
-
Anyone like waterfalls? Picture yourself, there's a time
-
where it's like, man, I just need to sit under a waterfall
-
and just get refreshed and if I ever had my ideal property, it
-
would have a waterfall and I don't think they exist but I
-
think everyone else is claim them, but I just love that.
-
And when we came to light house, we were kind of like burnout and
-
kind of need it. And we needed to place herself
-
under the waterfall of the word of God, the ministry of the word
-
of God and clear, hot stuff. So, A waterfall at times.
-
Will bring refreshing cleansing and specially.
-
If you're struggling with weariness, you just fatigued.
-
Just worn out if you're struggling with anxious
-
thoughts. That a lot of anxiety, struggle
-
with depression, even filthy thoughts, that washing of the
-
word will cleanse your mind. Amen.
-
So there's three things in a lordship relation, it's all
-
about submitting, bending your knee.
-
Amen. He wants us to submit to the
-
teaching of the word he wants us to submit to the preaching of
-
the word. So what does that mean to submit
-
to those things as like, okay, I want you to change me.
-
I just don't want to know more. I want you to change me.
-
I want you to, like, Light Me Up.
-
And you know what he did, he didn't need much of an
-
invitation because he he's like, it's like the the river of the
-
Living God is Flowing from the Throne of God into our lives.
-
And so, if you open yourself up, so Lord just cause your word to
-
flow in my life, he will do that.
-
And if it's just a trickle, if it could be a Niagara Falls,
-
maybe you just don't know, you know, but he wants.
-
He has so much to give you and then so there's some tools that
-
we have Least and this is not exhaustive down in mentioned it
-
a little bit. You know what I love to do
-
sometimes is I have anyone have you version on your phone?
-
You know that I do that, but I like to hear it sometimes just
-
an audio and just listen, sometimes I'll read along to but
-
I'll just like want to get really practical.
-
It's like what? I need to hear your verbally.
-
Yeah. Because sometimes I read things
-
as like. It didn't quite go.
-
The same way your feel like you get stale sometimes like in your
-
purse, so sometimes it's good to change.
-
Get up, right? Anyone here really good at
-
scripture memorization I balked at that big time.
-
What I was you know because like I'm not a chapter text in verse
-
guys like yeah I know I just I just my I don't know, maybe I
-
had a bad childhood experience, I don't know but I had a hard
-
time with that now I don't have a problem at all with truth so I
-
know a lot of his truth from spending time and having his
-
deposit go in my life. So memorizing the passages and
-
just seeing him over and over and over again.
-
It'll start to really sink in Anyone ever have a promise book
-
you ever use that that was like popular back in the 80s or so
-
like the Jesus pocket promise book.
-
I'm really showing my age now. But anyways, he has so many
-
promises and there. Yea and amen in your life.
-
So start to do, especially if you struggle with negative
-
thoughts, doubt fear. You know, that in that realm,
-
it's like, Lord, I need to know your promise because what it
-
Will do is, it'll really encourage you to build up your
-
faith because without faith. It's what impossible to see God,
-
right? So he wants to build up our
-
faith. So, that's another thing is to
-
really meditate on his promises. And when you read them, it's
-
like, that's not, that's for someone else, think of it as
-
like, no, thank you, that's for me.
-
Insert your name in that promise, when you're praying for
-
a loved one, insert their name, that prop, make it personal
-
Sometimes I need a big picture approach.
-
That means reading through the Bible, over a certain period of
-
time, reading the Old Testament, New Testament.
-
Psalms and Proverbs there's lots of programs to do that.
-
That's a good. That's a good method as well.
-
Last 15 minutes. Oh sorry, was that my cue to?
-
Alright. Anyways, so the big picture
-
approach is really and all these.
-
I mean, there's a lot of different approaches.
-
Another thing that's really important is to enjoy trying to
-
establish an anchor list. Anyone know what an anchor list
-
is anyone? Like the water you ever been on
-
a boat out, on the water you ever?
-
If you don't have an anchor, you're in a world of hurt,
-
right? If so if a nor'easter blows up
-
and you're out there and I've I have I'm on, when I had a boat,
-
I was on personal speed, dial with Seto, I was not, I was not
-
very good, and Donna worried a lot, because we were stranded
-
many times out of boats. But anyways, an anchor.
-
So, if you have an anchor, an anchor for your soul, is this,
-
this is your testimony. This is what God has done that.
-
No one can argue with no one can refute.
-
It's an immutable truth in your life.
-
It's personal to you. Write it down and you know it.
-
So when you Have a struggling time when you feel like you're
-
being just battered with the waves and the wind, and the
-
chaos, and the churn, and all that, go to your anchor, drop
-
anchor drop anchor by saying. Lord, I Thank you that you saved
-
me on this day. Lord, I Thank you that you fill
-
me with your Holy Spirit. Lord, I Thank you for what
-
you've spoken to me. I thank you for what you've
-
done. I thank you for and you go to
-
the zinc, drop anchor. And that's a really important
-
strategy in being an approach God because then it creates you
-
start off with being think once to the needy.
-
A lot of times when we approach the lord it's like I need this.
-
I need that. Yes.
-
And we have our list, right? And he understands all that, he
-
knows what we need even before we ask him but it's just helpful
-
to be able to approach him from the right context.
-
So let's talk a little bit about Revelation Spirit of Revelation.
-
Now John, anyone love John, John was great.
-
John was the only of the disciples that was not martyred.
-
They tried. They bought him an oil, can you
-
imagine that? But he survived it because Jesus
-
said that he was not going to, that was not his walk, all the
-
other ones, they gave up their lives as Martyrs.
-
That's what it means to be an apostle.
-
Any Apostles in here, guess what?
-
Yeah. But we are called all called to
-
be sent ones. We're all called to make an
-
impact, right? So John was special in a couple
-
ways. He struggled with position
-
priority and all that his mom Eagle 2.
-
That wanted to make sure that James and John were right next
-
to Jesus, you know, at the resurrection and all that, the
-
other disciples didn't really care for that too much, but he
-
was the one that Jesus on the cross, his last dying breath
-
gave charged his mother. And he said, behold your son to
-
John job was the only one at the cross.
-
You know, it was not a popular time to be a follower.
-
He also was the one that was exiled on the island of Patmos
-
and received the Book of Revelation.
-
And I'm so glad for John, but John, the picture of John was,
-
he's the guy that the other disciples would go to kind of,
-
get the inside track on what Jesus was thinking.
-
John had a way of being out of lean into Jesus and hear his
-
heartbeat. And the picture in the last
-
supper was, he was reclining. They're all, you know, he was
-
reclining and he was really close in proximity to Jesus and
-
Jesus shared like, who was going to betray him.
-
So was John, had an inside track.
-
We can be like John So when he asked the Lord, when you lean
-
into him, ask him to soften your heart and stop your ears and
-
open your eyes to understand him and see him as he really is.
-
Amen. And a fission is 117.
-
This is, this is a great prayer. Says I keep asking that the god
-
of our Lord Jesus Christ, The Glorious father, may give you
-
the spirit of wisdom and Revelation so that you may know
-
him better. You can pray that look, give me
-
a spirit of wisdom and Revelation so I can really see
-
you. Reveal yourself.
-
That's what Revelation means is a revealing.
-
That's what he wants to do. He wants to reveal himself.
-
Hmm. The word as a in the area of
-
Revelation, the word is a seedbed of Revelation in your
-
life. So as you deposit the word in
-
your heart and you build up your reserves of the word of God,
-
think of it. That way, you build up reserves
-
so that when you need it, it's there.
-
Okay, he will speak and use that and cause that to come alive,
-
come alive to you to be able to encourage you but also to use
-
you in other people's lives. Amen.
-
So Jesus spoke the words of life to his disciples, he showed them
-
his ways. And then he taught them how to
-
use those ways in those words to feed others.
-
You ever see on the bottom of the like a coke bottle.
-
Something no deposit, no return. You know, what does that mean?
-
Yeah, that means you know, maybe if you turn it in, you get
-
something back. Well our approach to the word is
-
the same way if we don't deposit.
-
And get deposits of the word coming into our life and it
-
becoming something that just becomes a part of this.
-
There's no return on investment because there's nothing to draw
-
from you're overdrawn and he wants us to have be rich in the
-
word. So think of yourself, we have a
-
lot of kids in here. A lot of women and men.
-
Think of yourself. Personalizes said, Lord help me
-
to be A father, the word help me to be a husband of the word
-
Lord. Help me to be a follower of your
-
word. Help me to be a daughter of the
-
word. How many be a son of you and
-
think of yourself as a person of the word?
-
That's your identity, you know? So this is a shift, right?
-
So it's not just about trying to just figure out bits and pieces
-
of it. It's like, man, I want to be in
-
your truth. I want to be in that flow.
-
So when you become a person of the word, you don't, Because you
-
become more eternally, minded more Kingdom Minded.
-
Why? Because that's what his word is
-
all about. And then you're going to be
-
aligning yourself to his heart and his ways and then yeah, it's
-
going to be like automatic when he uses you you know it because
-
there's stuff. It's just going to be flowing
-
out of you. People say what is it about you?
-
Why are you so happy obey it? I've got love, joy, peace,
-
patience, kindness the fruit of the spirit will your roots are
-
going down in the word. Your roots are going down so
-
that he can he can do that Eternal work in you.
-
We don't want to be kind of Christians with a lot of fake
-
fruit. Right?
-
You ever try and bite into something that looks good but
-
it's plastic not quite filling, right?
-
There's another saying any fisherman in the room Alright,
-
catch and release. Or filet and release.
-
I don't know. Catcher to catch and release.
-
So when you're spending time of the word and you catch something
-
ask the Lord to show you how to release it.
-
Like what is that for? Is that for me separate?
-
So in this in this Fellowship, in this church, The word of the
-
Lord needs to come in and he's going to do that through you
-
guys. He wants to activate you also,
-
there's like that I got to work. Lord, give me wisdom to know how
-
to release that word. Amen.
-
So he'll drumset, he'll drop something in your spirit for
-
someone else, he loves doing that.
-
He loves to us to be just PVC for his kingdom.
-
Amen. So my prayer always is Lord.
-
Just help me get the heck out of the way, you know?
-
And even today, so read here and meditate on Words of Prophecy.
-
If you want to the Lord to use you in the prophetic, receiving
-
Revelation, to be able to share with other people to give life
-
and other people. I've spent a lot of time
-
sometimes, like, just Going through the Minor Prophets, The
-
Major Prophets, and allow that to posit to kind of Bubble Up.
-
And then, and the audio Bible is really good for that.
-
So, the third area is in the area of Vitality or Life.
-
John 6:63 says, the spirit gives life, the flesh counts for
-
nothing. The words, I have spoken to you.
-
They're full of the spirit of Life, spirit and Life, John 648,
-
and John lot of passages from John Wright.
-
Jesus said, I am Am the bread of life so when you it's not just a
-
knowledge thing but he wants to be able to just bring to life
-
vitality and stuff. So it's kind of like Needing CPR
-
and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
-
So it's like and he wants to just like we are formed, you
-
know, Adam was formed by him breathing in the very Breath of
-
God, in a bunch of dirt, you know, and he wants to do that,
-
he's available to do that. so when we come in Devotion to him
-
and submit ourselves to his word, he wants to take, if we
-
have anxiety, he can translate that to Peace by the Just
-
speaking and breathing on his word in your life he can he can
-
change. Worry to Faith confusion to Hope
-
bondage if you're in any kind of bondage to Freedom, despair to
-
praise, and the picture really is just the tree of life.
-
He wants you to be a tree of life, with lots of fruit, that
-
is, for other people to enjoy, and then Psalm 119, 130 says,
-
the unfolding of your words gives light, it gives
-
understanding to the simple. So he wants to take his word and
-
then fold it. Sometimes we don't get it all at
-
the same time, right? We don't get a download
-
immediately of everything he wants to do, but sometimes,
-
he'll just give us a line, chapter a verse in the book of
-
our lives. But he wants to expand on it and
-
then because he knows what we can handle, right?
-
He doesn't like, give you like a download expect, you understand
-
everything, 100% all the time because he knows has amen.
-
So in closing, the passage of scripture that kind of sums all
-
this up is in Isaiah, 55 10 through 11, the Lord says the
-
rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return to it
-
without watering the Earth and making it bud and flourish.
-
So that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater.
-
So is my word that goes out from my mouth.
-
It will not return to me, empty, but will accomplish what I
-
desire and achieve the purpose. For which I sent it and all
-
God's people said, amen, we pray for you.
-
Okay, Lord, I Thank you, Lord, for your Eternal Word but we ask
-
that you would just help us to Fall in Love with You.
-
Lord more that you would help us to see you Lord as you really
-
are, the lover of our soul or the author and finisher of our
-
faith. Lord, our friend Lord, I Thank
-
you for these people, Lord, for what you're doing in our lives
-
and we commit ourselves to you learn, pray that you would have
-
your way and you work in the it you'd help us to know you.
-
More in Jesus's name. Amen.
-
Oh, that's a good word there. Give it here so and and all the
-
people said good, it's over. Thank you, anyways.
-
God bless you guys. We're available.
-
If you guys want prayer for anything, I mean not that we
-
have answers but we can receive
