Unity in the Body

Slipping. It's all right.

If we do. All right, well, good morning.

It's great to be here with you. You've been so welcoming to me

and my family and just like John, Michael said, I love your

pastor, he's an amazing man, you guys are very fortunate and very

blessed of God to have him here. Just want to say, Happy Mother's

Day to all the moms. I've been telling John Michael

for a while that I wanted to visit salt church, I didn't

realize he was going to have to get the stomach bug that to

happen. So maybe one day we'll be here

at the same time, but if you would turn in your Bibles to

Philippians chapter 2, we're going to be looking at verses 1

Philippians 2 · chapter mention

through 11 this morning. We're going to be talking this

morning about relationships with others.

And my emphasis this morning on others is going to be others in

the local church, because I believe that's the emphasis of

the text that we're going to be looking at.

But I do want to say you can apply these principles to any

relationship in your life, whether it's your friends, your

family, your neighbors strangers that you interact with these

principles, apply across the board, but we're going to focus

in today on our relationships within the church body.

So some quick background on Philippians chapter 2, the

Philippians 2 · chapter mention

Apostle Paul, he's writing to the church in Philippi from

prison and so the Philippian Church, they had sent a man

named epaphroditus to deliver a financial gift to Paul.

And so this letter is Paul's way of thinking them and responding

to them, he begins this letter by thanking them for their

generosity and he Comforts them concerning his circumstances in

prison. And so what, what he's doing in

the first chapter, he's encouraging them to stand strong

against opposition that they're experiencing from outside the

church. He wants them to stand strong

for the sake of effective gospel Ministry.

And so it's at this point in Chapter 2, the Apostle Paul, he

shifts from addressing conflicts from I'm outside the church and

he begins addressing conflicts within the church and he's

instructing this congregation on how to guard against disunity.

And so there's three main points that we're going to see in our

text today. First, we're going to see that

unity in Christ is essential for Effective gospel Ministry.

If you're taking notes I'm going to say that again.

Unity in Christ is a central essential for Effective gospel

Ministry. The second thing we're going to

see this morning is that the pathway to Unity is Military.

The pathway to Unity is humility and thirdly, we're going to see

that. Jesus is our ultimate example of

humility. Alright, Philippians chapter 2

Philippians 2:1–11

verses 1 through 11 says. So if there is any encouragement

in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the

spirit, any affection and sympathy complete my Joy, by

being of the same mind, having the same love being in full

Accord. And of one mind, do nothing from

selfish ambition or conceit. Seat but in humility, count

others, more significant than yourselves.

Let each of you look not only to his own interests but also to

the interests of others have this mind among yourselves,

which is yours in Christ Jesus, who though he was in the form of

God, did not count equality with God.

A thing to be grasped but emptied himself by taking the

form of a servant being born in the likeness of men and being

found in human form. He humbled himself by becoming

obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

Therefore God has highly Lee exalted him and bestowed on him.

The name that is above every name that at the name of Jesus,

every knee should bow in heaven and on Earth and under the

Earth. And every tongue confess that

Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God.

The Father, let's pray before we go any further.

God, I thank you for your word. Lord.

This is a difficult word to put into practice and Lord I pray

that your Holy Spirit would help us today that the Holy Spirit

would guard my mouth from error. Lord that the Holy Spirit would

guard everyone else's ear. Ears from error.

Lord, that we would be guided and Truth by the spirit this

morning and that you would Empower us to live this word out

Jesus name. Amen.

It's kind of weird. I feel like there's people over

there. Yeah.

All right, so the first thing we're going to see as we look at

this text, this morning is the necessity of unity in Christ.

So this first verse, we see there's a series of if

statements, right? It says, if there is any comfort

in Christ or in, if there's any encouragement in Christ, if

there's any comfort from love, if there's any participation in

the spirit and the obvious answer to these if statements

is, of course, there is, of course, there's encouragement in

Christ, of course, there's of course there's comfort from Love

and participation In the spirit. And so, what the Apostle Paul is

doing here is he's grounding what he's about to tell them in

spiritual realities. He's saying because of this.

Now, here, do this. And so he's grounding them in

these spiritual realities. That are true of everyone who is

in Christ. They're true of you and me he's

being, he's appealing to their relationship in Christ.

He's saying based on the encouragement that's in Christ

based on the comfort that comes from love based on the Oneness

that comes from the spirit based on The Tender Mercies of the

Believers around us there to live in a certain way.

And so he's telling them, they're to live in harmony with

one another. Not because they like each

other, though. They may not, because they just

get along, though. They may.

But what he's saying is that they have a responsibility as

members of God's household, as members of gods family, they

have a responsibility to live a certain way and treat each other

a certain way. This Unity This isn't the result

of of natural Fellowship. It's a supernatural thing that

he's talking about here. It's supernatural what he's

doing. He's he's talking about Unity

but he's not starting with their relationship with one, another

starting with their relationship with Christ.

And the reason he's doing that is because our relationship with

Christ is the foundation of every Christian relationship

that we have, and it's out of our relationship with Christ

that our Unity flows. So he's not commanding them to

be one in Christ. He's not and I say that because

he's telling them it's already a fact you're already one in

Christ now you need to act like it.

That's what he's telling them. This is an objective reality

about those of us who are in Christ.

And as Christians, we must view, our relationship with one.

Another with our church family, as a direct relationship, direct

reflection of our relationship with Christ, Direct reflection

because it's out of that Oneness with Christ, that our Oneness,

with others clothes. So once Paul's reminded his

readers of this, he goes on to tell them in verse 2.

He says complete my Joy by being of the same mind.

Having the same, love being in full Accord and of one mind.

So he says complete my joy. There's almost a fatherly

connotation here, right. He's saying you know what would

really make me happy. This church is doing great,

you're generous, you're loving each other all but you know what

would really make me happy? Get along get along live.

Vin Unity parents. How many of you?

That's your prayer for your children.

Will you please just get along. When there's peace and Harmony

in the home, it is a it is a blessed thing.

It is wonderful. And when there's not, it's

terrible right, everybody. Every parent in the room knows

that and so Paul has this fatherly love and affection for

this church. And he sang.

Hey, this would complete my joy and he tells him in verse 2.

He gives them a working definition of unity says, it

means being of the same mind having the same love and being

in full Accord. Now this this phrase here being

of the same mind, it doesn't, it doesn't mean we're always going

to agree on everything, it doesn't mean we're always going

to have the same opinion. How many of you know, that's

impossible. We're not always going to agree

on everything. We're not always going to have

the same opinion. But what this is about, it's

about having the same mindset having the same attitudes.

Having the same demeanor with regard, to the way that we love

and serve one. Another, the reason for that is

because we're United in Christ, They are united in our purpose

in Christ. This is the kind of unity that

he's telling us to pursue this morning is God's church and in

verse three and four is going to tell us how we can get there.

Second thing we're seeing is the pathway to Unity is humility

verse 3, do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit but in

humility count others, more significant than yourselves, Let

each of you look not only to his own interests but also to the

interest of others. So, Fish ambition and conceit.

We see here are he's putting these up as the opposite of

humility as the enemies of our unity in the church and selfish

ambition, it pursues personal goals for selfish reasons often

at the expense of others, right? You're worried about I'm going

to get ahead and I don't care who I have to step on.

I don't care what I have to do. I'm going to I'm going to get

mine right? That's what that's the selfish

ambition. It's only worried about personal

advancement. Conceit in a similar fashion.

It seeks personal Acclaim, and glory and what it results in

this empty vanity in this over inflated self-image, it makes us

puffed up, it wants to promote the self over and against others

and so what we can clearly see here is that the selfish

ambition and can see. There are two sides of the same

coin, their pride, he's telling him to to kill Pride, to get to

get away from Pride. I'm sure we all know Some

prideful people in our lives, right?

Are they easy to get along with? No.

Now, imagine you get a church full of prideful people, what do

you have? You have a recipe for disaster

and so Paul is telling them you've got to kill Pride.

You've got to get rid of pride, pride has no place in the life

of a Christian, and it has no place in your church body.

Proverbs, 11:2 says, when pride comes then comes disgrace.

But with the humble is wisdom Bible says, in numerous places,

God, opposes the proud, but gives grace to the The Humble he

says do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit.

So this means as Christians, we don't use people greens.

As Christians, we don't take advantage of people, we don't

treat people like they owe us something.

We don't do things just to make ourselves look good.

We don't boast in ourselves. We don't promote ourselves.

We don't put others down to make ourselves feel better.

It's not what Christians do. Rather we are to practice

humility. Let's talk a minute for about

what humility is not. Most of you have probably heard

a pretty well-known quote. It says humility is not thinking

less of yourself. It's thinking of yourself less,

right? That's a helpful way to look at

it because humility doesn't equal low self-esteem.

Low self-esteem is not humility and the reason I say that is

because low self-esteem is what it's primarily still

self-focused. Low self-esteem is just a

different form of Pride whether you think you're the greatest

thing ever or you think you're the worst thing ever you're

still focused on yourself. So here's what c.s.

Lewis had to say about humility. He said, do not imagine that if

you meet a really humble man, he will be what most people call

Humble nowadays. He will not be a sort of greasy

smarmy person, who is always telling you, that, of course he

is. Nobody probably.

All you will think about him is that he seemed to cheerful

intelligent chap, who took a real interest in what you said

to him, if you do dislike him, it will be because you feel a

little envious of anyone who seems to enjoy life.

So easily, he will not be thinking.

About humility, he will not be thinking about himself at all.

John Piper. I once heard him give a

definition of humility that I thought was really profound in

helpful. He said, humility is the

opposite of entitlement and that's powerful because humble

people don't walk around feeling like the world owes them,

something right? We don't walk around feeling

like we deserve that, we're out to get what we deserve from

other people. In the Apostle.

Paul, he spells out for us what this humility looks like in

verse 3, he says count others, more significant than yourselves

or maybe you're more familiar with the King James version

which says Let each other esteem better than themselves.

Now these translations they have a potential to be misleading

because we're not literally saying these people are more

valuable than us. Well, Not literally saying these

people are are better. And that they're more skilled or

that they're more morally, upright.

They may or may not be that's not the point.

The point is that we are counting them.

More significant in that we are counting them, worthy of our

self sacrificial service. And let me illustrate the point

to you this way. Imagine somebody really

important came in the door today, just fill in the blank,

whether it's an athlete, a singer and actor.

Somebody that you think is super awesome, they walk in the door.

How are you going to respond when you see him walk in?

Right? You're going to be excited,

right? This way.

Let me show you. Let me get you the best seat in

the house. Do you need anything?

Let me show you where the restroom is, you know, you're

going to go out of your way to make them.

Feel welcome. Make them feel loved and served.

Why? Because you believe they're more

significant than you are. He's telling us, that's how we

are to treat everybody in the local church.

I word count is important because we're counting others.

More significant than ourselves, where we're making a conscious

decision, a conscious effort to treat people that way.

Why? Because chances are, they

probably don't deserve it. It's are they having earned it?

And that's the point. They don't have to earn it.

We're supposed to give that freely, we count others, more

significant than ourselves Pride makes us treat people as a means

to an end. We think, what am I getting out

of this relationship? How is this relationship?

Benefiting me but humility makes us treat others as more

significant than ourselves by sacrificially serving them.

In the verses to follow Paul's going to point to Jesus as the

ultimate example of this and you want to know what that tells us

that tells us that none of us are too good or too important to

serve others. If Jesus can serve, none of us

are too good or too important to serve others.

Can I just be honest with you, none of us are all that

important. None of us are all that

significant anyway. First for Let, each of you look

not only to his own interests but also to the interests of

others. So, yes, we are supposed to look

after our own interests because not only look after your own

interests, of course, we should be concerned with our spiritual

well-being. Our physical well-being, our

mental well-being. We should take responsibility

for our Holiness for our education.

Our mental health, we should take responsibility for our food

or shelter or clothing. But the Bible commands that

that's good. We should we should take care of

those things. Why?

Because those position us to be able to serve others better.

It's the keep us from being a burden on those around us.

So he's not saying we shouldn't look after our own interest.

No, we should. But I want to ask you this

morning. How often as Christians are we

guilty of only looking after our own interests?

We're so worried about what's going on with my family, with my

life, my finances, my job, or that we don't stop.

And think about the people around us, we don't stop and

think about others. Paul's communicating here.

Is that humility? It finds the balance, the finds

the balance between looking after my own interest.

And also, looking after the interests of others, we ought to

be looking after others to meet their needs.

Here's some examples. How you spend your time?

As a parent when your kid comes up to you and says, daddy will

you play with me or Mommy? Will you play with me?

And you just want to look your kid in the eye and say, do you

have any idea how tired I am? Since you came along, tired is

now a permanent part of my personality and I don't want to

do anything in this moment except sit here and relax.

And you have to ask yourself whose interests?

Are you going to serve in that moment?

Or maybe you're like me and you like to fish in.

The weather, is finally going to be good on a weekend and you got

the gear prep, your boats, ready, everything is good.

It's going to be a great day, catching some bass and then you

hear about a family that just moved to the area that needs

help moving. Because I don't know anybody

who's interested. You going to serve?

Maybe even saving some money. You're going to, you're going to

buy this cool new thing or you going to take a vacation, you

know you work hard, you deserve it, you earned it, right?

Then you hear about a need in your congregation.

That's just massive way too big for one family to bear.

Whose interests are you going to serve?

So this Paul says, is the mind that we are to have in common,

that is, it's the mind of Christ.

First five have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in

Christ Jesus. So, the mind of Christ, he's

talking about a heart posture, a heart posture of unity through

humility, and he's just been talking about in the previous

four verses. And what does he say?

He says this mind is yours in Christ Jesus.

That means if you're a Christian, he's not commanding

you to obtain something that you don't already have.

He say, Saying you already have this now, act like it.

My pastor once said in his sermon, he said the New

Testament pattern for obedience is be who you are now, so

profound to me. Because in the New Testament if

we understand who we are in Christ, all we have to do is act

like it understand who you are and then be who you are.

You already have this mind. So follow the example of Jesus

and thirdly, we're going to see in our text today.

That Jesus is the ultimate example of humility verses six

through 11. Paul's going to describe the

example that Jesus sat in his Earthly Ministry, including his

Incarnation, his humiliation at the cross and his exaltation.

Now these verses were getting ready to look at it's believed

that this is an early him or even an early Creed.

That the, that his audience would have been familiar with

He's quoting from something here.

Now, these are some of the most theologically rich and

mysterious pasta scriptures are verses in the entire Bible.

And so most preachers, they use the illustration illustrations

to make things simpler and easier to understand.

But Paul says here let me illustrate this with a really

deep theological concept. That's kind of confusing right?

Thanks Paul. But I don't want us to miss the

point this morning because, yes, this section of scripture, it's

full of Rich. Theology and christology.

And, but I want to make sure we don't lose sight of the main

point, because Paul's Point here, is to point to Jesus, as

an example of humility. So that the church will be

unified, his point is that we really can get along.

We really can't have real Unity because of what Jesus has done.

That's the point. These aren't merely intellectual

Concepts, but like most theological Concepts, they are

eminently practical for us. They're very practical for our

lives. Let's go to verse 6.

It says Christ Jesus who though he was in the form of God did

not count equality with God. A thing to be grasped but he

emptied himself by taking the form of a servant being born in

the likeness of men and being found in human form.

He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death.

Death even death on a cross. So Jesus was in the form of God,

he was equal with God, he always was and always will be the

second person of the Trinity, right?

First, John one said this in the beginning was the word and the

Word was with God. And the Word was God.

He was in the beginning with God, and all things were made

through him. And without him was not anything

made, that was made Hebrews. 13 said, he is the radiance of the

glory of God, and the exact imprint of his nature and he

upholds, the universe by the word of his power.

That's the Jesus, we serve. And although Jesus as God held

the status of God, this passage tells us he didn't count that a

thing to be grasped, he didn't count that a thing to be held on

to for his own personal advantage.

And what does it mean that he emptied himself?

That's a, that's a phrase that has sparked a lot of

controversy, dating all the way back to the early church and for

good reason, it's important. What that means me, tell you

what it does. Not mean, it is not mean that

Jesus ceased to be God. That he gave up his deity.

Jesus never lost his, his Heavenly nature, he never lost

his deity. It doesn't mean that he lost his

Divine attributes. Our God is unchanging.

He didn't lose any of that. He didn't give that up.

So what does it mean? Rest of our verse 7, tells us

what it means. He said taking the form of a

servant being born in the likeness of men.

So this is his, his Incarnation right kids in the room.

What are we celebrated Christmas, right, great answer.

I thought you were gonna say presents.

Yes, we celebrate Jesus birth. When Jesus came to the Earth, he

condescended to be born as a human wrapped himself in flesh.

The creator of the world took Form of the creation.

The one who's deserving of service took on the form of a

servant. He suggested himself to things

like hunger, and thirst, and fatigue, and Temptation.

And we just sang a song about that this morning Our Savior

bled, Our Savior wet. These are things.

He would not have had to do. Had he not come to the Earth as

a man, but Jesus did not lose his divine nature.

What he did was he added a human nature.

So some have called this subtraction by addition.

He added a human nature to himself.

So Jesus. The God, man.

He didn't become 50%. God and 50%, man.

No, he's both. 100% God, 100% fully.

Man, two Nature's in one person. Are you confused yet?

Me too. John Calvin.

Once said this about the Incarnation.

He said, the Son of God, descended miraculously from

Heaven yet without abandoning Heaven.

He was pleased to be conceived miraculously in the virgin's,

womb to live on the earth and hang upon the cross and yet

always filled the world as from the beginning.

It's powerful. Here's an illustration, I

borrowed from a guy named Gavin ortolan.

I think, might be helpful to us to wrap our heads around this.

He said there's not a one-to-one correspondence Between Heaven

and Earth. They are infinitely and

qualitatively distinct. Therefore Christ is able to be

fully localized on Earth and remain extra just as token could

have written himself into the story of The Lord of the Rings.

Thus having the properties of character in that story while

still remaining in Oxford. Thus retaining his original

properties token could not have traveled to Cambridge while

remaining in Oxford, but he could have written himself into

middle. The Earth while remaining in

Oxford. And that is because Middle-earth

and Oxford are not just different places but different

Realms and in the same mysterious and wonderful way.

God, the son is able to become fully man on Earth while

remaining fully God in heaven. One person with two Natures or

one person in two different realms.

It's really helpful to me to think about it that way.

And so Paul is emphasizing this. This emptying that Jesus has

done this emptying of himself. He's emphasizing this to point

to the humility of Jesus. That's what he wants us to see

here. Wayne grudem, put it this way.

He said, the emptying includes a change of role in status.

Not an essential attributes or nature.

It's not that Jesus was anything less than what he was before.

It's that in becoming a man and in becoming a servant Eternal,

Son of God performed, the greatest act of humility

imaginable. It is the single greatest act of

counting others, more significant than yourself.

Jesus poured out his life. He poured out everything for you

and me and verse 8 of our passage today tells us being

found in human form. He humbled himself by becoming

obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

So Jesus was born into the world for a purpose, right?

He was born to die, so reason he came to die.

Substitutionary death, he humbled himself by becoming a

man living in a obedient life. Following the law perfectly on

our behalf dying. A substitutionary death, in our

place that we should have paid a penalty.

We should have paid and he took that punishment upon himself,

and he didn't do this against his will, but know, the Bible

tells us. He, he sacrificed himself

willingly. He laid down his life willingly.

And this Paul tells us was the result exaltation.

The father, exalted him verse 9 therefore God has highly exalted

him and bestowed on him. The name that is above every

name that at the name of Jesus. Every knee should bow in heaven

and on Earth and under the Earth.

And every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the

glory of God, the father. So Jesus humbled himself and God

the Father, exalted him. Jesus been his need to serve

others and the father decrees that every knee will bow to him.

Jesus, He didn't seek a name for himself but the father has given

a decree that every knee will bow to him.

Every knee will bow, every tongue will confess and I don't

know if there's any unbelievers in the room but if there are I

just want to tell you it's going to go a lot better for you if

you bend the knee to Jesus now because the Bible's very clear

every knee will bow and every tongue will confess and it's

either going to be in humble submission or it's going to be

in judgment and that should be a warning to us.

All we need to humbly submit to Jesus.

Now willingly, submit to Jesus. Now one commentator said of this

passage, he said this section, although steeped in profound

theology remains eminently, practical for the Saints of

Philippi and for believers of all ages, Paul is presenting the

Divine Paradox, foolish to the Natural man.

At the Way Up Is Down at the cross proceeds.

A crown that the road of exaltation by the father is

paved by Humble service, to others for the father's glory.

In this, just like what Jesus said in Matthew 23:12, he said,

Matthew 23:12

whoever exalts himself will be humbled.

Whoever humbles himself, will be exalted.

He also said in Matthew, 20, starting in verse 26, but

whoever would be great among you must be your servant.

ENT and whoever would be first among you must be your slave,

even as the son of man came not to be served, but to serve and

to give his life as a ransom for many.

So it's okay to desire to be great.

It's a good desire. We should desire to be great but

we have to remember that the Way Up Is Down.

Jesus humbled himself. He gave up his life to serve us

and in so doing he made Unity with him and unity with one

another possible that's what he accomplished.

So I want to ask you a question this morning, how could we not

pursue Unity? What reason could we possibly

give not to pursue unity in our church body in light of

everything Christ has done in light of everything, we've just

been reminded of how could we not?

Because the reality of it is humbly serving one.

Another is how we serve Jesus. You know, I'm an elder at my

home church and as an elder when people are going through

terrible things you're usually the one that gets the phone

call. And we've had some families in

our church, goes through some really traumatic stuff lately.

I was talking with a brother who his family experience a really

tragic loss that was unexpected and just reach out to him and

said, hey, what can we do? How can we, how can we love on

you? Is there anything we can do?

And he said, honestly, I don't need anything.

Our small group has stepped up their cutting grass.

They're bringing meals. They're just pouring out so

much. Love on us.

I couldn't ask for anything else and something he said to me that

stuck out was he said, I don't know how anybody goes through

something like this, without a church family and my wife and I

have experienced that we've been on the receiving end of that as

well. And I'm sure many of you in this

room can think back to times in your life where you were really

going through it and your church, family stepped up, and

loved you and served you. And that's what it's about.

About. I know from talking to John,

Michael, I know that salt Church practices this well, I know, he

speaks so highly of you guys, so I know that you do this.

Well, I just want to say, keep going.

And as we close this morning, I want to remind us of the goal.

What's the point of all? This is it just so, we feel

good? Is it just so we feel like our

needs are being met and know. There's something bigger,

there's something more important.

I said at the beginning of this that our unity in Christ is

essential for what for Effective, gospel Ministry.

Unity is not the end goal. Healthy relationships with one,

another is not the end goal. The end goal is that we have

effective gospel Ministry. Remember, in John 17, when Jesus

is about to go to the cross and he's praying for his disciples

and he's what does he pray? He says, father, I pray.

You would make them one. Those disciples and all who

would believe in their message. I pray that they would be one

and why what's the reason he gives says?

So that the world may believe so that the world may believe in.

I want to suggest you this morning.

That that's the Apostle Paul's point in Philippians chapter 2

Philippians 2 · chapter mention

as well. If we keep on reading in verse

14 and 15, he says do all things without grumbling or disputing

that you may be blameless and innocent children of God without

blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation

among whom you shine as lights in the world.

This is why our Unity as a church is absolutely essential

because we are lights in the world because the world is

watching the world is watching to see how we love one another.

And when we love one, another will we are being lights in the

world. So that all the world might

believe our missions to important and the stakes are too

high for us to be inviting. Right?

I want you to imagine for a minute soldiers in a war zone.

Do you think soldiers in a war zone?

Have time to fight and bicker about stupid insignificant?

Things know why? Because lives are on the line.

If they don't work together as a team people die.

And so I want to challenge you this morning church missions to

important and there's too much at stake for us not to walk in

unity. so, a couple of takeaways things, that ways that we can

apply this word this morning, First pursue unity and Christ,

for the sake of the Gospel. Pursue Unity with one another.

And remember, remember that reason?

It's because we're we're doing it for the sake of the Gospel.

For the mission. That Christ has entrusted to his

church. Secondly, follow the example of

Jesus by serving others in humility.

Humility is the pathway to Unity.

So we serve one another in humility, but following the

example of Jesus and and thirdly worshiped, the exalted savior,

when we reflect on what Christ has done, when we reflect

reflect on a text like this, it should cause us all to step back

and Marvel at what Jesus has done.

He is the king of kings. He is the Lord of lords.

God has made him King over all the Earth, every knee will bow

to him. Every tongue will confess.

He will rule the nations with a rod of iron Jesus the king over

all the universe. But this cause you to step back

and on worship him this morning. Let's pray father.

I think you for this word. lord, it's a difficult word to put

into practice and I pray that you would help us Lord, I pray

that you would help us to pursue Unity God and not forget the

reason not forget the point of it all got to pray that you

would help us to follow. Your example, help us to humbly

serve one another in love. And Lord, I pray, you would

cause us all to worship you to exalt.

You Lord, to just bask in your presence.

To be. In total awe of who you are and

what you've accomplished. I thank you for the opportunity

to be here today. I think you for this church.

Lord. I Thank You for their pastor and

Lauren. I'm just excited to hear all the

great testimonies of what you're going to do in this community

through Salt Church. It's going to be amazing.
