Apostles' Creed pt.2 - God the Father Almighty

Would you turn please in your Bible to Genesis chapter 1?

Everyone should have received an Apostles Creed everybody.

Get a little copy of that. I didn't bubble Brock.

Could you hit me one? Thank you, sir.

Do we have enough? Okay, so we're in our Apostles,

Creed series. We started last week.

We didn't make it too far. We made it to I believe.

And we didn't know what we believed yet, but we knew we

were going to believe it, whatever it was, but we

understood and talked about the importance of the difference

between knowing something and believing something.

And we said that, I don't really believe something.

Unless it's changing the way that I live.

I know a lot of stuff. I know, I ought to eat Better.

I know I'll be on my phone less. We all know certain things that

don't necessarily impact what we're doing about it.

But believing in something changes everything, we believe

we saw in the scripture you believe with the heart, that's

where we first believed, and with confession, and with the

mouth confession is made unto salvation.

But we understand that without faith it's impossible to please

God. So believe in God is one of the

normative and important things that we're doing.

And we talked about the Apostles Creed, the history of it, how

and why it was put together It is not the Bible, but it points

to the Bible. It's a simple summary of what

the Bible teaches for New Testament.

Believers a very simple and basic thing.

So the Believers could unite around the things that are most

fundamental, is there. Other stuff there, most

definitely is, there's plenty of secondary and tertiary things

that could be talked about, but there are primary things and the

early church wanted to clarify the church leaders want to say,

let's give something simple and clear so that Christians should

know what Christians should believe.

There's a lot of false doctor, there's a lot of bad teaching,

but let's make it very simple so that we can start people here

and say, hey, this is foundational.

This is what Christians should believe.

You can't be a Christian if you don't believe this generally

speaking. It's not to say that somebody

couldn't be ignorant and then on their way to learning things but

this is Christian doctrine. If somebody doesn't affirm one

of these things we would say that's not Christian.

It's unchristian or if they're similar in close then it's most

likely a cult who would say yes yes yes but no to this and we

say then we reject that we reject that because it's on

Biblical, it's untrue. So if they repent of that, then

they're welcomed in. It was a simple mistake.

But there are many doctrines that are built against Christian

foundations, but the Apostles Creed is a way to Simply say,

hey, this is what we believe this is the way we see it and

understand it and Define it from scripture.

So the Apostles Creed is a useful tool that points us to

the word of God. We're not preaching all about

the Creed, but we're letting the Creed steer us back to the word

to say, where do these doctrines come from and how can we be

reassured in them? But first Are going to read the

Creed together right now. So if you've got it with you,

let's begin. I believe in God, the Father

Almighty creator of Heaven and Earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son our Lord, who was

conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.

He suffered under Pontius Pilate was crucified died and was

buried. He descended to Hell.

The third day. He rose again from the dead.

He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God,

the Father Almighty from there, he will come to judge the living

and the dead, I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic

Church. The communion of saints, the

Forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the

life Everlasting. Amen.

As we see it says, three times there.

I believe. And then, as you see, it's

broken into three segments, I believe in God, the Father

Almighty, The next, I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son our

Lord and then the next I believe in the holy spirit.

So the whole Creed here is is teaching us, the Trinity.

The godhead even though the word Trinity isn't used in scripture.

It's another one of those things.

It's not Bible. Exactly.

And yet it teaches bible, exactly.

It's a way to clarify and bring something.

If you wanted to teach Bible doctrines, most of the time,

you're not only going to exclusively quote scripture, if

somebody said, tell me the gospel, The time you're not

exclusively just going to quote verses, but you would put into

your own words, the Apostles Creed does something similar,

but we see that the godhead has described and taught and

instructed to us here. And we start with God, the

Father Almighty creator of Heaven and Earth.

So, that's where we are today. God, I believe in God, the

Father Almighty creator of Heaven and Earth.

So we're going to look at this in a couple different ways.

This morning, we're going to take it in pieces.

We see God is the father we See, God is Almighty and we see God

is the creator of Heaven and Earth, three different things

here that are taught right away, and we're going to look at

exclusively right away at how he is the creator of Heaven and

Earth. So that's why you're in Genesis

Genesis 1:1

1:1. In the beginning, God created

the heavens and the Earth. This is foundational.

This is fundamental, Christian doctrine.

Why are we spending time on this?

Because it's important and because it's easily lost because

Christians are easily deceived Christian's can easily start to

blend ideas ago. Yeah.

Yeah. God created everything and

evolution is true to know these things.

One of these things is not like the other and they cannot live

together and they cannot be friends.

We did not evolve. We did not.

Form. We did not come from something

else. We aren't a giant accident.

We were planned. We were chosen.

And we were designed this, these things are exclusive from one

another. We can't have come from some

other species. When the Bible says something

different. When Bible says that the Bible

says that God created them male and female in the beginning, God

tells us that we were all plunged into sin because of our

father Adam's sin, right? Adam.

A real man who Jesus believed in who Jesus taught about Jesus

says the Second. Adam Jesus says, the new man

fundamental stuff here. Simple stuff God, made.

Everything God made everybody. And when I believe that, when I

believe that there's a creator that God did it all, it changes

everything. Now, I have purpose and I have

meaning, I'm not just an animal, I'm not just Stardust, who got

lucky because lightning hit the mud puddle or however it all

supposedly happened. But what actually happens now is

I recognize I have purpose. I have design and it's

interesting. Even people who deny this true

Even people who deny this reality, they still live.

Like, it's true because they're made in the image of God and

they can't escape it. So, we recognize that grace of

God working in them. It's an inconsistency in their

world view, of course, and anybody who doesn't stand on the

word of God is full of inconsistencies and

contradictions because they will they will affirm that something

is, right or they will affirm that something is wrong.

And yet, if you were to ask them by what standard they would say,

being a decent human and he would say, what is decent?

And they would say doing what's right?

And they you Could ask them when what is right?

And if they were honest eventually they would recognize

that they're standing up over Oblivion.

There's nothing there. It's their opinion.

And if they were going to be consistent in their worldview

they would have to admit that. It's just the sack of meat

between their ears. Its brain chemistry.

It's preference and its opinion. That's it.

There is no right or wrong or good and evil from the world

view that says God didn't create everything but things

accidentally formed. You understand why believing

things matters because it leads to something.

So we said the Apostles Creed is It's theoretical.

It is intensely practical because when you understand

Bible Doctrine it changes everything about the way you

live and function. So that as a Believer you can

stand on something that is a solid foundation with a pillar

of truth. And you can say this is, right?

And this is wrong. Well who says well God says that

settles it this is what gives me.

Confidence is what brings me conviction?

This is what actually helps me to bring Clarity to a situation

when people go. Well, I think this, or I think

that well, who Am I, who am I? I didn't create And everything.

I didn't create everybody and I'm not just another mammal

running around out here. Who's just happy to be alive and

happy to have Consciousness somehow.

Instead, I'm submitted under somebody who is above and

beyond, oh God is the creator of everything and because we

believe this, we know that we have meaning and purpose, all

people know, this turn to Romans chapter 1.

For what can be known about God is plain to them.

Even though someone would say, I don't believe in God because you

can't show me God, or I don't believe in this because you

can't show me this God disagrees, and you should agree

with God, Christian for what can be known about God is plain to

them plane to, who plan to everybody specifically talking

about people living in sinful Rebellion.

A lot of what he's going on here is talking about sexual Sim, but

the point is, what can be known about God is plain to them.

It's plain to everybody why? Because God has shown it to

them. How has he done that?

Verse 20 answers that question for his invisible attributes,

namely his eternal power and his divine nature have been clearly

perceived ever since the creation of the world, in the

things that have been made. So that they are without excuse,

here's the logic of God, and here's what God is saying, he's

saying he's made himself playing and revealed himself to

everybody. How because he created

everything existence itself, God says is proof of Creator

creation necessitates Creator. If you walk into the kitchen and

you find warm brownies on the on the countertop, you don't go.

Wow. I bet 4.2 billion years ago

there was just ingredients that just found their way to this hot

tray of brownies today. You'd be an idiot.

That's absurd right? That's dumb.

That's very unscientific it violates the It method entirely

and it doesn't recognize that things are always falling apart

and not finding order God creates order.

There was chaos God brought order and still nature is

disordering itself. Things Decay things break Things

Fall Apart because of sin now. But this is what we see

happening constantly but God says his invisible attributes.

So, God is claiming the invisible is proven by the

visible. This is what he's saying.

His creation is obvious evidence of him as Creator to the degree.

He says that men are without excuse, the invisible is obvious

because of the visible there without excuse for what their

without excuse for their unbelief.

Well I feel like if I could just know Saint, there is no thing

that you have to logically persuade somebody of.

If you believe that then you're believing you're buying into

their framework. You're you're buying into the

devil's lying framework that says.

Well, if you could show if you could prove, if you could this

but it's not true. People have literally heard the

voice of God audibly out loud in scripture and they said, That

was Thunder, there's nothing that when people see it,

remember the Pharisees, they saw, Jesus miracles, the Roman

guards come to them in the night and go, hey, guys, he was just

resurrected and an angel, knocked us out in the Pharisees.

Didn't say we were wrong. God, forgive us, he's truly the

Messiah. They said, hey, don't tell

nobody and we'll pay you. Nobody needs more logical,

persuasion from you, be free from that lie.

The gospel is the power of God unto salvation.

It is through the foolishness of preaching that the humble can be

healed. It is through the foolishness of

preaching that people can be restored to go.

That's it. Oh, that's your story.

A Jewish Carpenter died on the cross and he supposed to be the

everything in the Alpha and the Omega.

You got it. That's it.

I can't believe that. No, it's that you won't believe

that you. N and you should but you won't

and I love you and I'll continue to pray for you.

Why? Because you're blind blinded by

who by the God of this world but God has made himself known.

He's made himself plane through the you know when the brownies

are on the counter that someone made the brownies, it's obvious

to you don't go. These are magic.

How do they get here you go? Brock, William made these

brownies or Natalie made these brownies or Don.

Made these brownies 33 brownie makers, that I know in my life

when your brownie lover, you can surround yourself with brownie

makers. But this is evidence.

This is a foundational Truth for Christian doctrine.

God is Creator. Nobody else.

Nothing else before God created, there was nothing.

Except God, what else do we see? What else is the Creed teaching

us about God? Well, God is the father and he

is Almighty. What do we see here?

We see that God is personal as a father and God is powerful as

the almighty. Both of these are true and both

of these are to be deeply. Brace both of these are an

important part of Christian doctrine.

But what you often find is, you might find yourself tending

towards one perspective. Over the other, I might find

myself tending towards the personal.

God, while rejecting the powerful God, or I might find

myself only having the Viewpoint of God is the powerful God in

rejecting and not understanding or receiving the personal

aspect. What does this look like?

Well, the personal God is this is the Jesus or God is my

homeboy kind of approach. Me and the man upstairs.

He's cool. He gets me.

I tip my hat to the good Lord, you know, I'm overly

comfortable. If I'm in this perspective

exclusively, I'm overly casual. This is the approach that thinks

life is really all about me. This is the I'm great God thinks

I'm great I'll tip my hat to the man upstairs.

This is what I've called before country music Christianity I

like country music but in a lot of country music it's the God

has held so loosely but Still like this Southern American

Christianity thing going on. So it's like we're going to get

down on Saturday night, but we're going to be in church on a

Sunday morning and it's well, you were intoxicated the night

before and and sending sexually all these things but it all just

works for you. Like yeah, I'm at the Lord

understands me a simple folks like what this is nonsense.

Like, if you loved a new, the Lord, then you would want to be

like him and you would want his best and you would want to walk

in Holiness and not Perfection but faithfulness.

So that's a, it's a casual approach where there is no fear

of God, in your eyes. There's a fear of God and that

perspective even rejects the idea of fear of God.

The personal God, the Oprah God the, everybody's a Christian

kind of God says fear God. Why would I ever fear?

God, God loves me so much money. Have you read the Bible?

Have you? Because Jesus mr.

Love himself, all the enemies. Not always think they know most

about Jesus is very interesting but all the enemies of God, we

always say. Jesus was just about love and

and I could never these kind of people.

The only the personal got approach will take the approach

that says I could never serve a God who, and then they fill in

the blank with something. Heretical, I could never serve a

got to be careful if you ever want to make a statement like

that and make sure that what's about to fill in that blank

isn't something that's literally in the Bible.

I could never serve a God. Who would what?

Drown the whole Earth? Except for eight people, I could

never do that. Well, that's the only God there

is. So you ought to pick him because

he's the best and he's worthy. Well, what's the other

perspective? Well, the other perspective is

my only view of God is. I'm terrified of getting smoked.

I don't want to get smited and that's who he's that's what he's

likely going to do. He's a smiter and I Mass Mighty

and it's very likely that that's going to happen to me.

Now this view is less common but it's still real and it's still

error why? Because it rejects the close

Fellowship, the Lord intended. What do we see in the garden?

He comes and walks with Adam in. The cool of the day.

That was the purpose. That was the motive.

If Adam hadn't sinned, we would have all lived happily ever

after and we're walking with the Lord and subduing the Earth and

multiplying and glorifying his name and we closed the curtain

and the rest is history. He's getting back to it and we

will have it again and it will be forever secured.

But a lot of times we can have this perspective of I'm just

scared of God. Therefore I run from God and

we're forgetting the personal aspect but the the Apostles

Creed points out both which the Bible plainly points out.

We see a father we don't see a grandpa who gives you whatever

you want without consequence. We see a father who has good a

father will bring discipline. A father will bring Comfort.

A father will bring nurture, a father will bring provision?

A father will bring protection of all.

There's the whole package. I'll whip your butt.

I'll snuggle you. I'll play with you.

I'll whip your butt again. All the things that a father

should be. Why?

Because of the love, because of the love is so deep because the

love is so sincere. God is both personal and

powerful, and we've got lots of examples through scripture

showing us both like I said, we see him drowning the whole earth

in his judgment and in his Holiness and we also see him

personally burying His friend who had been meeting with face

to face, and he didn't even tell anybody where he buried him,

he's like, this is just for me, he's so is that Moses with him?

But he's, but he's, but he's so tender towards Moses that he

says I'm gonna bury him personally and I love him.

And I'm going to care for him, all through the scriptures, we

see the same, we see the tenderness.

So let's look more at God is our Father, God to God defines

himself as father. He was the first father, he

created Mankind in his own image in Earthly, fathers exist to

image the heavenly father. It's important understand.

God does not have fatherly traits.

It's not like, oh, God is kind of like a father.

That would be a misunderstanding.

God is father, that's how he defines in identifies himself.

God the father is the one person of the Trinity.

So he is God the Father Almighty.

That's who he is. It's not.

And you can kind of think about it.

Like a dad. No, he is.

The father, Adam wasn't, the first father, God was the first

father. He's the father of all creation.

He's the father of all mankind. He's the father of Jesus.

He's the father of everybody and everything.

And this is how he has chosen to identify and clarify himself for

us. Go to Matthew chapter 6.

Then like this, Our Father in heaven Hallowed Be Your Name,

Your Kingdom Come your will be done on Earth as it is in

heaven. Give us this day, our daily

bread and forgive our debts as we have also forgiven our

debtors and lead us not into temptation, but Deliver Us from

Evil, Jesus starts off the Lord. Prayer teaching us that we have

a father to go to. This is what sets up everything

else that we pray this is what prefaces everything else that we

get into whatever we're saying he's he's helping everybody to

connect to Father God, this is who he is if he was your father,

if you believe that, how would you act?

Well I hate my Earthly. Father Mira's, Lee, father was

terrible to me. He was a wicked man.

He abused me or I had a great father, he was wonderful.

He nurtured he cared he taught he instructed, either way,

whether A great example or a horrible example, we still had

an imperfect example, no matter who he was or what he did.

He was in perfect and he fell far short of God, the father and

in the ideal Perfection that he brings to us.

What's the best of the best of the best you could imagine in a

daddy your imagination falls short for how good God really is

for how good the father really. Is you thinkin, man?

I could imagine this, it doesn't even come close to how good the

father God is he is better than you think.

Think he is better than you could hope he is better than you

would ever dare dream. I can go, I can get pretty

imaginative but it won't get close enough because God is that

good. Why?

Because anything that you think is good originates from him

anyway, because God is goodness. He is goodness revealed.

He's goodness embodied. There's nothing better than the

father. Any idea that we have, that's

not good about God is just wrong.

It's just absolutely incorrect. You have the best father to go

to and only as Son of God can say, father, but this is exactly

what Jesus teaches. And this is what the New

Testament teaches that all of us are, we have been made the sons

of God. That means we have the

inheritance that he has provided and Jesus starts with this

important understanding. He's reminding us We're loved

children with a good father. Father is the Revelation and the

foundation of all that follows, God is father is what makes

everything else. Makes sense.

Another approach makes sense, another approaches as safe.

Nothing is as loving, look in chapter 7 here, Matthew as well.

Versus 7. 7 through 11 ask and it will be given to you seek and

you will find knock and it will be open to you for everyone who

asks receives and the one who seeks finds and to the one who

knocks it will be opened or which of you.

If his son asks, him for bread, will you give him a stone or if

he asks for a fish? Will you give him a serpent?

If you then, who are evil know how to give good gifts to your

children. How much more will your father

who is in heaven? Give good things to those who

ask him. Jesus Compares us Earthly

fathers, he calls us evil. You being evil knowing how to

love and care for your children. He said how much more it's such

an obvious understanding for Jesus to know the goodness in

the love of the father. It's such an obvious thing.

He's going, the father is so much better than all of you.

He's looking around at Earthly people, he's gone.

I know my father and I know your father, he's way better than all

of you are. And you, you know, goodness

though, you still no goodness as Earthly fathers, you know how to

care for your children. You're not going to harm your

children as an Earthly father. He's talking in the normative

General sense, how it should be. He's saying you being evil know

how to do what's right? How much more your heavenly

father? This is the Comfort to the

Saints. This is what should this is what

would have comforted the early Believers.

Hey, what do we believe? Here, you know, we're followers

of the way now, we've put our faith in Jesus.

What does this really look like? Well, that means god is your

father guys. Father.

Okay, that's good news. I have I never had a father

before. Yeah, you do.

Now you do now. He's a father to the fatherless

and he's good. Oh, is he kind of like Caesar?

Because you know, the Romans have said Caesars a father?

No, no, he's way better than Caesar is.

He like Zeus the no Zeus just wants to zap you with lightning.

Remember, Jesus is like, waiting for you to mess up and to put

you On blast but we don't have that.

We have a father who actually loves us and who wants what's

best? And who wants what's right?

He's always seeking our good. back in chapter 6, all this is

is in the same context here where Jesus is still preaching

and teaching chapter 6 and verse 8, He says right before he told

us the Lord's Prayer says do not be like them talking about.

The Gentiles do not be like them for your father and your father

knows what you need before. You ask him, your father knows

what you need before you ask He knows when the sparrow Falls.

He feeds the animals Jesus says you're worth much more than

sparrows than many sparrows. Humans are worth more than

animals. Why?

Because God said so because we are made in His image and his

likeness, he goes you're worth much more than the flowers of

the field, the flowers of the field.

Don't worry about tomorrow. The birds aren't worried about

tomorrow. Hey you got a father if you

believe that you have a Heavenly Father well that changes the way

you look at the week without change the way you look at your

checkbook. If you believe you have a

heavenly father, will that change the way you look at the

news? Will that change the way you

look at the the newest tragedy and the latest thing that's

taking place over the new thing that you're supposed to be

afraid of? People who don't have a father

or panicked because they are their own covering.

If your own head, if you're the top of the food chain, that's a

scary place to be because anything that can take you out,

it's over. But when you have a Heavenly

Father, Like Jesus taught, you, you have a safe place to go.

This is who are God, is he, is deeply.

Personal, God is also all-powerful.

What does it mean that God is Almighty?

I believe in God, the Father Almighty creator of heaven and

earth. Oh, mighty means.

This having complete power omnipotent.

Our father is personal but he's also all-powerful.

That's good news, right? Don't you want your dad to be

the most powerful as a kid? That's what I said.

My dad can beat up your dad. This is way better than my dad.

Can beat up your dad. This is my, my God is my dad.

My dad is my God. My father is God, and he's

all-powerful. He's perfect in all his ways and

he's Unstoppable. Our father is the almighty one

who can do. Anything, he knows everything.

This is important. Simple foundational Doctrine,

God knows everything. He sees everything, he knows

like David was saying in the psalm before I even speak a

word, the Lord knew what was coming, he knows my inward, most

thoughts, the things that I'm dodging, things that I'm not

even wanting to take time to meditate on and think about to

repent of and to root out the Lord knows it's all there.

He sees it all that's scary and he loves me, he's personal and

he's powerful. His power also means that he has

wrath because he is so holy. He's so loving.

He's also just and righteous and consistent.

This is how the grace of God on the fear of God, go together the

grace of God, the personal side that we would think of, in the

fear of God. We think that they're divorced,

they can't be separated. You can't separated.

You can't have intense love and not have judgment.

You can't have intense, love and not have wrath.

We understand this. When we think about an

understanding of a willingness to act on the behalf of someone

that you love, Who Do You Love most on this Earth?

And now imagine someone hurting them and doing something to

them. I think that you feel that is a

righteous wrath that you feel there can be an unrighteous

wrath as well but there's a righteous wrath when there's

love there is there is a willingness to act on the behalf

of the one who is so deeply loved and this is always true of

God. This is what again why it's

nonsensical when the enemies of God and tried to teach the

Believers of God. The the enemies of God will say

foolish things that make no sense and they'll say well if

God if I was God just Stop, don't even finish your dumb

sentence. But if I was God, I would do it

like this. Well, spoken like a sinful human

who isn't God, and who doesn't love God, and who doesn't pursue

God in any way? But go on, if I was God, I would

just say, hey, everybody. It's okay, here's the problem

with that. Hey, y'all, it's not okay?

This is what a good judge recognizes a good judge when

he's got the ax murderer in front of him.

He doesn't go. You know what?

I'm just going to say it's okay. Is that a good judge?

Is he just, is he righteous? Was he good to the victim?

Was he good to the loved ones? Oh but I just feel like love is

love and mercy his mercy and and you know, kindness is kindness.

Well, you said three things that didn't make any sense.

Those are just circular reasoning that bear.

No fruit and mean nothing again standing out over Oblivion.

It's my feelings. As my preference is instead of

what God is defined is normal. Love requires wrath?

This is obvious. This is simple.

It's a willingness to act on behalf of the one love God.

Love the Israelites. So the Egyptians found out,

didn't they through all ten plagues?

The Wrath increases and increases and increases and

increases and increases y because of my love for my

people. When there's love, there's a

willingness to act on behalf of the ones loved and sometimes the

ones loved even feel that as the Israelites often did as a father

will discipline his children, loving fathers will do that.

Why? Because love brings that motive.

If I love my sons, I will discipline them.

If I hate my son's, I won't discipline them.

I've reminded my children that for ever since they were very

little would say, hey, if the Bible says, if I don't spank

you, it means that I hate you. There's a lot of kids in this

Don't spank. But there's three in particular

that I love more than all the other children.

I love all the children in the world but there's three in

particular that I love more in that love most and I will

discipline them because I love them because of my deep love for

them. I will bring training, I'll

bring instruction, I'll bring the needed discipline, the right

thing at the right time, it's because of love that, I'll do

that turn to Hebrews chapter 11. Why can't God just Overlook sin?

Well, if he's just, if he's in charge of everything, if he's

the rule maker, it's not that he's the rule maker, he is the

rule itself, he is goodness. And in him, there is no Darkness

think will be deserved by the one who has Trampled Under Foot,

the Son of God and is profaned. The blood of the Covenant by

which he was Sanctified and has outraged the spirit of Grace,

for we know him who said vengeance is mine and I will

repay. And again, the Lord will judge

his people. It is a fearful thing.

To fall into the hands of the Living God.

So what's possible is it's possible to take versus on their

own and say I'm building my entire perspective of God off of

this passage alone. I could do it over here as well.

I, I like this passage. Well, you, you can like that

passage, but we're to take the Bible and all of its counsel.

What does the whole scripture teach us about God?

I thought he was father and now he's gonna burn people up both

and yes, also, God is kind good. Loving father, he is Almighty.

He's holy, he's perfect. He has standards, he has

expectations. He is set apart in every way.

God is perfectly good. God is light and there is no

darkness in him. That means he cannot and will

not have fellowship with Darkness.

If he did, then he would no longer be good.

He would be dimmed. He would be tainted.

That's not possible. So what is what's the only

option? Well the only option is to take

all the impure and to make it holy like him that's the only

hope. He will not turn down his

volume. The only opportunity that anyone

has is that ours could be turned up.

That we could be brought to somehow some way that we could.

Be brought up into his presence, so that's why.

Every world religion would teach, everybody senses the

distance from God. So that's why every world

religion teaches that, you got to do something.

So I even pagans will say even heathens will say you got it

just be a good person. You know.

Like everybody feels this drive towards goodness.

Unfortunately, nobody can actually accomplish it.

Everybody's goodness, everybody's Deeds are filthy

rags. God says, hey, you turned your

volume. You did your very best, right?

Yes, it's not good enough. It's never going to be good

enough. Well, that's not a very

encouraging thing. For a father to say, you're

forgetting the almighty, you're forgetting, his goodness, his

Holiness as Justice. Well, I don't like that.

Well, there's good news by the way, he could have left it there

and he would have been right to do so.

But the good news is our father is merciful, our God is so good.

Our father is so kind and he made a way, these are two

separate worlds, is what I'm trying to show you.

I don't want you to just think. Oh, he's personal and friendly

Daddy, but sometimes you got to be scared of him.

No, no, that was where I started.

To show you. But when I want to show you is

it's the same God, the Father, the almighty, the Creator, and

Heaven and Earth. It's not a good day and a bad

day. It's not the Old Testament.

And the New Testament, we're reading the New Testament.

By the way, in Hebrews right now, this is the same God he's

always good, he's always perfect, which is why he will

always deal with the axe murderer.

Like like we reference the judge a minute ago.

Should what should happen with the axe murderer?

Well, could he be changed into something else?

Now, you're getting somewhere. Could he be made new?

Yes, but Justice still has to be satisfied.

So who's going to satisfy this Justice?

Because God's not going to just Overlook something and go and no

big deal. It is a big deal.

It's such a big deal that blood had to be shed.

It's such a big deal that something had to happen.

But that's the common perspective of sinful humans.

If God is God, why can't he just say?

It's fine because it's not fine, it's not In the Israelites, like

we're referencing a minute ago, they were only spared.

Why? Because of the blood of the

Lamb? That's the thing that spared

them. That's the thing that made the

difference that night, as the death angel came, the wrath of

God came for judgment. How could you be spared from

this? You got to take the blood of the

lamb and it's got to be applied to the doorpost.

That was the Passover. So the instruction came to Moses

and God told Moses. I'm going to destroy everybody

tonight. I've been, I've been warning

Pharaoh. I've been warning Egypt, I've

been warning them over and over. And now here we come time's up

that bowl of Wrath has been filled up.

Look at God's patients were so foolish and ignorant.

When we say, I don't understand why God it's, I don't understand

why he didn't do it sooner. It's a lack of understanding of

God's holiness whenever we think, well, that seemed extreme

when he said, kill every man. A woman child and animal that

seemed extreme whenever he said this.

Whenever he said that, that know what's Wild is that he didn't

annihilate us, instantly at Adam.

That's what's crazy, everything else.

Every other moment that I take a breath is Grace, it's the

miracle of Mercy. It's love.

It is God's extravagant love. It's only in my extreme

arrogance where I go? Well I don't know why he would

punish that. You ought to be amazed that

you're getting to breathe and think thoughts.

That's his incredible Mercy. But for the grace of God, I

would already be receiving everything I already deserve,

which is eternity in Hell, burning and suffering with Satan

and all the enemies of God. That is exactly what I deserve.

I've earned it just by being born through Adam.

I've earned it and I deserve it. This is Christian doctrine.

This is understanding, God, the Father Almighty.

Wow, this is comforting, he's father, he's Almighty.

He provided the blood of the Lamb to the Israelites.

And, of course, the blood of the Lamb that night was just

pointing to the Future lamb. The lamb who is going to be

slain for everybody. Through Christ God's justice, is

fully satisfied and God's. Mercy is freely given so me the

axe murder, plot twist, surprise, surprise, me the ax

murderer. Can I be forgiven?

I can be forgiven, but I've got to be made.

New God. Doesn't say Joe Michael.

It's no big deal. God says it is a really big

deal, but I love you. So I'm going to save you.

I'm going to rescue you, but I'm going to make you new, like your

unacceptable as you are. I don't accept you.

As you are, I'll make you into something new.

I'll Transform. You, I'll take away your sinful

nature. So, you'll truly have a new

identity. You won't be an Ax Murderer

anymore. But what about the punishment

for your sin, I can't just go, here's a freebie.

There's got to be suffering, there has to be because God is

Justice. God is just and judgment is

good. So this is where the sun comes

in. And Jesus says, I'll take the

punishment, we will, we will do this miraculous substitution

where I will give people my righteousness and I will take on

their sin. He became sin who knew no sin,

so that we could become the righteousness of God in Christ.

So through Christ, God, satisfies his Justice and he

points all of his wrath at Jesus for you.

And for me, I deserve a lot worse.

Yeah. Look at the cross.

That's why the cross is such a horrific and wonderful thing.

You see it. All you see the mercy of God,

you see the love of God. And you see the wrath of God

poured out. Why is the cross such a?

It's such a just place but at the same time we feel this

Injustice because they're an innocent man.

They're an innocent man, truly innocent more innocent than any

newborn baby you've ever seen an innocent man, taking the penalty

for everybody. Why?

Because the godhead, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

decided And Jesus submitted to the will of the Father.

The father is the one that Jesus submits to the father provides

leadership in the godhead, although there are equal in

every way co-equal and coeternal, they have different

roles and we're going to look at the different roles of the

Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, as we go through the

rest of our series, but this is the good news, your father loves

you. Your father frees you from sin.

Your father disciplines you. He's just a good father.

Anything gets good anything, that's true.

Anything that's beautiful. It's because our heavenly father

has initiated our heavenly father is not bad and Jesus came

to protect us from the big bad heavenly father.

That is a misunderstanding and a heretical teaching its

foolishness. The godhead is united in his

purpose and his will and his love towards us and our heavenly

father our God I do the creator of Heaven and Earth he is good.

He has for us he is to be trusted.

He is to be obeyed and he has to be loved like a father.

He is CBO approached and fellowshipped with like a

father. He is to be respected and

honoured life a father both. And at all times Heavenly Father

we love you. We approach the throne of grace

with boldness because Jesus made away.

It was your purpose in your plan to love us, you knew that we

would send against you. You knew what it would cost.

You knew that it would break your heart as we rebelled.

You knew that it would break your heart as your only son gave

himself and you gave him freely because of the extreme love you

have for us that were thankful for your infinite power.

The you will fully complete the you have fully and completely

defeated death that you have defeated sin, the you'll defeat

all of your enemies. And that you will rule Forever

on your throne and that you call us up to sit beside you.

We won't be strangers. We won't feel awkward around

you. Will feel comfortable, it'll

feel normal. We approach our father with joy

knowing that he Delights in us. God, thank you so much for your

mercy and your compassion, help us to see you as you really are

not to understand you with dichotomies but to understand

you and truth that you are the one God, the Living God, who is

worthy of Our Praise Or Glory adoration and worship.

Thank you for rescuing us and for caring for us.

Well God, we ask that you continue to massage your truth

into our hearts and continue to bring us Revelation so that it

would change the way that we live make.

All these things show up practically this week in our

lives. Help us to live differently

because we have a Heavenly Father Who is all-powerful.

We thank you in Jesus name now. The Lord bless you and keep you

the Lord. Make his face shine down upon

you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up his countenance

upon you and give you great. Peace in Jesus name.
