  1. Would you turn please in your Bible to Genesis chapter 1?

    Genesis 1 chapter mention

  2. Everyone should have received an Apostles Creed everybody.

  3. Get a little copy of that. I didn't bubble Brock.

  4. Could you hit me one? Thank you, sir.

  5. Do we have enough? Okay, so we're in our Apostles,

  6. Creed series. We started last week.

  7. We didn't make it too far. We made it to I believe.

  8. And we didn't know what we believed yet, but we knew we

  9. were going to believe it, whatever it was, but we

  10. understood and talked about the importance of the difference

  11. between knowing something and believing something.

  12. And we said that, I don't really believe something.

  13. Unless it's changing the way that I live.

  14. I know a lot of stuff. I know, I ought to eat Better.

  15. I know I'll be on my phone less. We all know certain things that

  16. don't necessarily impact what we're doing about it.

  17. But believing in something changes everything, we believe

  18. we saw in the scripture you believe with the heart, that's

  19. where we first believed, and with confession, and with the

  20. mouth confession is made unto salvation.

  21. But we understand that without faith it's impossible to please

  22. God. So believe in God is one of the

  23. normative and important things that we're doing.

  24. And we talked about the Apostles Creed, the history of it, how

  25. and why it was put together It is not the Bible, but it points

  26. to the Bible. It's a simple summary of what

  27. the Bible teaches for New Testament.

  28. Believers a very simple and basic thing.

  29. So the Believers could unite around the things that are most

  30. fundamental, is there. Other stuff there, most

  31. definitely is, there's plenty of secondary and tertiary things

  32. that could be talked about, but there are primary things and the

  33. early church wanted to clarify the church leaders want to say,

  34. let's give something simple and clear so that Christians should

  35. know what Christians should believe.

  36. There's a lot of false doctor, there's a lot of bad teaching,

  37. but let's make it very simple so that we can start people here

  38. and say, hey, this is foundational.

  39. This is what Christians should believe.

  40. You can't be a Christian if you don't believe this generally

  41. speaking. It's not to say that somebody

  42. couldn't be ignorant and then on their way to learning things but

  43. this is Christian doctrine. If somebody doesn't affirm one

  44. of these things we would say that's not Christian.

  45. It's unchristian or if they're similar in close then it's most

  46. likely a cult who would say yes yes yes but no to this and we

  47. say then we reject that we reject that because it's on

  48. Biblical, it's untrue. So if they repent of that, then

  49. they're welcomed in. It was a simple mistake.

  50. But there are many doctrines that are built against Christian

  51. foundations, but the Apostles Creed is a way to Simply say,

  52. hey, this is what we believe this is the way we see it and

  53. understand it and Define it from scripture.

  54. So the Apostles Creed is a useful tool that points us to

  55. the word of God. We're not preaching all about

  56. the Creed, but we're letting the Creed steer us back to the word

  57. to say, where do these doctrines come from and how can we be

  58. reassured in them? But first Are going to read the

  59. Creed together right now. So if you've got it with you,

  60. let's begin. I believe in God, the Father

  61. Almighty creator of Heaven and Earth.

  62. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son our Lord, who was

  63. conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.

  64. He suffered under Pontius Pilate was crucified died and was

  65. buried. He descended to Hell.

  66. The third day. He rose again from the dead.

  67. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God,

  68. the Father Almighty from there, he will come to judge the living

  69. and the dead, I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic

  70. Church. The communion of saints, the

  71. Forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the

  72. life Everlasting. Amen.

  73. As we see it says, three times there.

  74. I believe. And then, as you see, it's

  75. broken into three segments, I believe in God, the Father

  76. Almighty, The next, I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son our

  77. Lord and then the next I believe in the holy spirit.

  78. So the whole Creed here is is teaching us, the Trinity.

  79. The godhead even though the word Trinity isn't used in scripture.

  80. It's another one of those things.

  81. It's not Bible. Exactly.

  82. And yet it teaches bible, exactly.

  83. It's a way to clarify and bring something.

  84. If you wanted to teach Bible doctrines, most of the time,

  85. you're not only going to exclusively quote scripture, if

  86. somebody said, tell me the gospel, The time you're not

  87. exclusively just going to quote verses, but you would put into

  88. your own words, the Apostles Creed does something similar,

  89. but we see that the godhead has described and taught and

  90. instructed to us here. And we start with God, the

  91. Father Almighty creator of Heaven and Earth.

  92. So, that's where we are today. God, I believe in God, the

  93. Father Almighty creator of Heaven and Earth.

  94. So we're going to look at this in a couple different ways.

  95. This morning, we're going to take it in pieces.

  96. We see God is the father we See, God is Almighty and we see God

  97. is the creator of Heaven and Earth, three different things

  98. here that are taught right away, and we're going to look at

  99. exclusively right away at how he is the creator of Heaven and

  100. Earth. So that's why you're in Genesis

    Genesis 1:1

  101. 1:1. In the beginning, God created

  102. the heavens and the Earth. This is foundational.

  103. This is fundamental, Christian doctrine.

  104. Why are we spending time on this?

  105. Because it's important and because it's easily lost because

  106. Christians are easily deceived Christian's can easily start to

  107. blend ideas ago. Yeah.

  108. Yeah. God created everything and

  109. evolution is true to know these things.

  110. One of these things is not like the other and they cannot live

  111. together and they cannot be friends.

  112. We did not evolve. We did not.

  113. Form. We did not come from something

  114. else. We aren't a giant accident.

  115. We were planned. We were chosen.

  116. And we were designed this, these things are exclusive from one

  117. another. We can't have come from some

  118. other species. When the Bible says something

  119. different. When Bible says that the Bible

  120. says that God created them male and female in the beginning, God

  121. tells us that we were all plunged into sin because of our

  122. father Adam's sin, right? Adam.

  123. A real man who Jesus believed in who Jesus taught about Jesus

  124. says the Second. Adam Jesus says, the new man

  125. fundamental stuff here. Simple stuff God, made.

  126. Everything God made everybody. And when I believe that, when I

  127. believe that there's a creator that God did it all, it changes

  128. everything. Now, I have purpose and I have

  129. meaning, I'm not just an animal, I'm not just Stardust, who got

  130. lucky because lightning hit the mud puddle or however it all

  131. supposedly happened. But what actually happens now is

  132. I recognize I have purpose. I have design and it's

  133. interesting. Even people who deny this true

  134. Even people who deny this reality, they still live.

  135. Like, it's true because they're made in the image of God and

  136. they can't escape it. So, we recognize that grace of

  137. God working in them. It's an inconsistency in their

  138. world view, of course, and anybody who doesn't stand on the

  139. word of God is full of inconsistencies and

  140. contradictions because they will they will affirm that something

  141. is, right or they will affirm that something is wrong.

  142. And yet, if you were to ask them by what standard they would say,

  143. being a decent human and he would say, what is decent?

  144. And they would say doing what's right?

  145. And they you Could ask them when what is right?

  146. And if they were honest eventually they would recognize

  147. that they're standing up over Oblivion.

  148. There's nothing there. It's their opinion.

  149. And if they were going to be consistent in their worldview

  150. they would have to admit that. It's just the sack of meat

  151. between their ears. Its brain chemistry.

  152. It's preference and its opinion. That's it.

  153. There is no right or wrong or good and evil from the world

  154. view that says God didn't create everything but things

  155. accidentally formed. You understand why believing

  156. things matters because it leads to something.

  157. So we said the Apostles Creed is It's theoretical.

  158. It is intensely practical because when you understand

  159. Bible Doctrine it changes everything about the way you

  160. live and function. So that as a Believer you can

  161. stand on something that is a solid foundation with a pillar

  162. of truth. And you can say this is, right?

  163. And this is wrong. Well who says well God says that

  164. settles it this is what gives me.

  165. Confidence is what brings me conviction?

  166. This is what actually helps me to bring Clarity to a situation

  167. when people go. Well, I think this, or I think

  168. that well, who Am I, who am I? I didn't create And everything.

  169. I didn't create everybody and I'm not just another mammal

  170. running around out here. Who's just happy to be alive and

  171. happy to have Consciousness somehow.

  172. Instead, I'm submitted under somebody who is above and

  173. beyond, oh God is the creator of everything and because we

  174. believe this, we know that we have meaning and purpose, all

  175. people know, this turn to Romans chapter 1.

    Romans 1 chapter mention

  176. Matthew Mark, Luke John acts Romans.

  177. Romans 1:20. And she'll go to verse 19.

    Romans 1:20

  178. For what can be known about God is plain to them.

  179. Even though someone would say, I don't believe in God because you

  180. can't show me God, or I don't believe in this because you

  181. can't show me this God disagrees, and you should agree

  182. with God, Christian for what can be known about God is plain to

  183. them plane to, who plan to everybody specifically talking

  184. about people living in sinful Rebellion.

  185. A lot of what he's going on here is talking about sexual Sim, but

  186. the point is, what can be known about God is plain to them.

  187. It's plain to everybody why? Because God has shown it to

  188. them. How has he done that?

  189. Verse 20 answers that question for his invisible attributes,

  190. namely his eternal power and his divine nature have been clearly

  191. perceived ever since the creation of the world, in the

  192. things that have been made. So that they are without excuse,

  193. here's the logic of God, and here's what God is saying, he's

  194. saying he's made himself playing and revealed himself to

  195. everybody. How because he created

  196. everything existence itself, God says is proof of Creator

  197. creation necessitates Creator. If you walk into the kitchen and

  198. you find warm brownies on the on the countertop, you don't go.

  199. Wow. I bet 4.2 billion years ago

  200. there was just ingredients that just found their way to this hot

  201. tray of brownies today. You'd be an idiot.

  202. That's absurd right? That's dumb.

  203. That's very unscientific it violates the It method entirely

  204. and it doesn't recognize that things are always falling apart

  205. and not finding order God creates order.

  206. There was chaos God brought order and still nature is

  207. disordering itself. Things Decay things break Things

  208. Fall Apart because of sin now. But this is what we see

  209. happening constantly but God says his invisible attributes.

  210. So, God is claiming the invisible is proven by the

  211. visible. This is what he's saying.

  212. His creation is obvious evidence of him as Creator to the degree.

  213. He says that men are without excuse, the invisible is obvious

  214. because of the visible there without excuse for what their

  215. without excuse for their unbelief.

  216. Well I feel like if I could just know Saint, there is no thing

  217. that you have to logically persuade somebody of.

  218. If you believe that then you're believing you're buying into

  219. their framework. You're you're buying into the

  220. devil's lying framework that says.

  221. Well, if you could show if you could prove, if you could this

  222. but it's not true. People have literally heard the

  223. voice of God audibly out loud in scripture and they said, That

  224. was Thunder, there's nothing that when people see it,

  225. remember the Pharisees, they saw, Jesus miracles, the Roman

  226. guards come to them in the night and go, hey, guys, he was just

  227. resurrected and an angel, knocked us out in the Pharisees.

  228. Didn't say we were wrong. God, forgive us, he's truly the

  229. Messiah. They said, hey, don't tell

  230. nobody and we'll pay you. Nobody needs more logical,

  231. persuasion from you, be free from that lie.

  232. The gospel is the power of God unto salvation.

  233. It is through the foolishness of preaching that the humble can be

  234. healed. It is through the foolishness of

  235. preaching that people can be restored to go.

  236. That's it. Oh, that's your story.

  237. A Jewish Carpenter died on the cross and he supposed to be the

  238. everything in the Alpha and the Omega.

  239. You got it. That's it.

  240. I can't believe that. No, it's that you won't believe

  241. that you. N and you should but you won't

  242. and I love you and I'll continue to pray for you.

  243. Why? Because you're blind blinded by

  244. who by the God of this world but God has made himself known.

  245. He's made himself plane through the you know when the brownies

  246. are on the counter that someone made the brownies, it's obvious

  247. to you don't go. These are magic.

  248. How do they get here you go? Brock, William made these

  249. brownies or Natalie made these brownies or Don.

  250. Made these brownies 33 brownie makers, that I know in my life

  251. when your brownie lover, you can surround yourself with brownie

  252. makers. But this is evidence.

  253. This is a foundational Truth for Christian doctrine.

  254. God is Creator. Nobody else.

  255. Nothing else before God created, there was nothing.

  256. Except God, what else do we see? What else is the Creed teaching

  257. us about God? Well, God is the father and he

  258. is Almighty. What do we see here?

  259. We see that God is personal as a father and God is powerful as

  260. the almighty. Both of these are true and both

  261. of these are to be deeply. Brace both of these are an

  262. important part of Christian doctrine.

  263. But what you often find is, you might find yourself tending

  264. towards one perspective. Over the other, I might find

  265. myself tending towards the personal.

  266. God, while rejecting the powerful God, or I might find

  267. myself only having the Viewpoint of God is the powerful God in

  268. rejecting and not understanding or receiving the personal

  269. aspect. What does this look like?

  270. Well, the personal God is this is the Jesus or God is my

  271. homeboy kind of approach. Me and the man upstairs.

  272. He's cool. He gets me.

  273. I tip my hat to the good Lord, you know, I'm overly

  274. comfortable. If I'm in this perspective

  275. exclusively, I'm overly casual. This is the approach that thinks

  276. life is really all about me. This is the I'm great God thinks

  277. I'm great I'll tip my hat to the man upstairs.

  278. This is what I've called before country music Christianity I

  279. like country music but in a lot of country music it's the God

  280. has held so loosely but Still like this Southern American

  281. Christianity thing going on. So it's like we're going to get

  282. down on Saturday night, but we're going to be in church on a

  283. Sunday morning and it's well, you were intoxicated the night

  284. before and and sending sexually all these things but it all just

  285. works for you. Like yeah, I'm at the Lord

  286. understands me a simple folks like what this is nonsense.

  287. Like, if you loved a new, the Lord, then you would want to be

  288. like him and you would want his best and you would want to walk

  289. in Holiness and not Perfection but faithfulness.

  290. So that's a, it's a casual approach where there is no fear

  291. of God, in your eyes. There's a fear of God and that

  292. perspective even rejects the idea of fear of God.

  293. The personal God, the Oprah God the, everybody's a Christian

  294. kind of God says fear God. Why would I ever fear?

  295. God, God loves me so much money. Have you read the Bible?

  296. Have you? Because Jesus mr.

  297. Love himself, all the enemies. Not always think they know most

  298. about Jesus is very interesting but all the enemies of God, we

  299. always say. Jesus was just about love and

  300. and I could never these kind of people.

  301. The only the personal got approach will take the approach

  302. that says I could never serve a God who, and then they fill in

  303. the blank with something. Heretical, I could never serve a

  304. got to be careful if you ever want to make a statement like

  305. that and make sure that what's about to fill in that blank

  306. isn't something that's literally in the Bible.

  307. I could never serve a God. Who would what?

  308. Drown the whole Earth? Except for eight people, I could

  309. never do that. Well, that's the only God there

  310. is. So you ought to pick him because

  311. he's the best and he's worthy. Well, what's the other

  312. perspective? Well, the other perspective is

  313. my only view of God is. I'm terrified of getting smoked.

  314. I don't want to get smited and that's who he's that's what he's

  315. likely going to do. He's a smiter and I Mass Mighty

  316. and it's very likely that that's going to happen to me.

  317. Now this view is less common but it's still real and it's still

  318. error why? Because it rejects the close

  319. Fellowship, the Lord intended. What do we see in the garden?

  320. He comes and walks with Adam in. The cool of the day.

  321. That was the purpose. That was the motive.

  322. If Adam hadn't sinned, we would have all lived happily ever

  323. after and we're walking with the Lord and subduing the Earth and

  324. multiplying and glorifying his name and we closed the curtain

  325. and the rest is history. He's getting back to it and we

  326. will have it again and it will be forever secured.

  327. But a lot of times we can have this perspective of I'm just

  328. scared of God. Therefore I run from God and

  329. we're forgetting the personal aspect but the the Apostles

  330. Creed points out both which the Bible plainly points out.

  331. We see a father we don't see a grandpa who gives you whatever

  332. you want without consequence. We see a father who has good a

  333. father will bring discipline. A father will bring Comfort.

  334. A father will bring nurture, a father will bring provision?

  335. A father will bring protection of all.

  336. There's the whole package. I'll whip your butt.

  337. I'll snuggle you. I'll play with you.

  338. I'll whip your butt again. All the things that a father

  339. should be. Why?

  340. Because of the love, because of the love is so deep because the

  341. love is so sincere. God is both personal and

  342. powerful, and we've got lots of examples through scripture

  343. showing us both like I said, we see him drowning the whole earth

  344. in his judgment and in his Holiness and we also see him

  345. personally burying His friend who had been meeting with face

  346. to face, and he didn't even tell anybody where he buried him,

  347. he's like, this is just for me, he's so is that Moses with him?

  348. But he's, but he's, but he's so tender towards Moses that he

  349. says I'm gonna bury him personally and I love him.

  350. And I'm going to care for him, all through the scriptures, we

  351. see the same, we see the tenderness.

  352. So let's look more at God is our Father, God to God defines

  353. himself as father. He was the first father, he

  354. created Mankind in his own image in Earthly, fathers exist to

  355. image the heavenly father. It's important understand.

  356. God does not have fatherly traits.

  357. It's not like, oh, God is kind of like a father.

  358. That would be a misunderstanding.

  359. God is father, that's how he defines in identifies himself.

  360. God the father is the one person of the Trinity.

  361. So he is God the Father Almighty.

  362. That's who he is. It's not.

  363. And you can kind of think about it.

  364. Like a dad. No, he is.

  365. The father, Adam wasn't, the first father, God was the first

  366. father. He's the father of all creation.

  367. He's the father of all mankind. He's the father of Jesus.

  368. He's the father of everybody and everything.

  369. And this is how he has chosen to identify and clarify himself for

  370. us. Go to Matthew chapter 6.

    Matthew 6 chapter mention

  371. Going to look at the Lord's Prayer.

  372. Matthew chapter 6. Verse 9 through 13.

    Matthew 6 chapter mention

  373. Matthew 6:9-13, Jesus teaching his disciples had a pray, pray.

    Matthew 6:9–13

  374. Then like this, Our Father in heaven Hallowed Be Your Name,

  375. Your Kingdom Come your will be done on Earth as it is in

  376. heaven. Give us this day, our daily

  377. bread and forgive our debts as we have also forgiven our

  378. debtors and lead us not into temptation, but Deliver Us from

  379. Evil, Jesus starts off the Lord. Prayer teaching us that we have

  380. a father to go to. This is what sets up everything

  381. else that we pray this is what prefaces everything else that we

  382. get into whatever we're saying he's he's helping everybody to

  383. connect to Father God, this is who he is if he was your father,

  384. if you believe that, how would you act?

  385. Well I hate my Earthly. Father Mira's, Lee, father was

  386. terrible to me. He was a wicked man.

  387. He abused me or I had a great father, he was wonderful.

  388. He nurtured he cared he taught he instructed, either way,

  389. whether A great example or a horrible example, we still had

  390. an imperfect example, no matter who he was or what he did.

  391. He was in perfect and he fell far short of God, the father and

  392. in the ideal Perfection that he brings to us.

  393. What's the best of the best of the best you could imagine in a

  394. daddy your imagination falls short for how good God really is

  395. for how good the father really. Is you thinkin, man?

  396. I could imagine this, it doesn't even come close to how good the

  397. father God is he is better than you think.

  398. Think he is better than you could hope he is better than you

  399. would ever dare dream. I can go, I can get pretty

  400. imaginative but it won't get close enough because God is that

  401. good. Why?

  402. Because anything that you think is good originates from him

  403. anyway, because God is goodness. He is goodness revealed.

  404. He's goodness embodied. There's nothing better than the

  405. father. Any idea that we have, that's

  406. not good about God is just wrong.

  407. It's just absolutely incorrect. You have the best father to go

  408. to and only as Son of God can say, father, but this is exactly

  409. what Jesus teaches. And this is what the New

  410. Testament teaches that all of us are, we have been made the sons

  411. of God. That means we have the

  412. inheritance that he has provided and Jesus starts with this

  413. important understanding. He's reminding us We're loved

  414. children with a good father. Father is the Revelation and the

  415. foundation of all that follows, God is father is what makes

  416. everything else. Makes sense.

  417. Another approach makes sense, another approaches as safe.

  418. Nothing is as loving, look in chapter 7 here, Matthew as well.

  419. Versus 7. 7 through 11 ask and it will be given to you seek and

  420. you will find knock and it will be open to you for everyone who

  421. asks receives and the one who seeks finds and to the one who

  422. knocks it will be opened or which of you.

  423. If his son asks, him for bread, will you give him a stone or if

  424. he asks for a fish? Will you give him a serpent?

  425. If you then, who are evil know how to give good gifts to your

  426. children. How much more will your father

  427. who is in heaven? Give good things to those who

  428. ask him. Jesus Compares us Earthly

  429. fathers, he calls us evil. You being evil knowing how to

  430. love and care for your children. He said how much more it's such

  431. an obvious understanding for Jesus to know the goodness in

  432. the love of the father. It's such an obvious thing.

  433. He's going, the father is so much better than all of you.

  434. He's looking around at Earthly people, he's gone.

  435. I know my father and I know your father, he's way better than all

  436. of you are. And you, you know, goodness

  437. though, you still no goodness as Earthly fathers, you know how to

  438. care for your children. You're not going to harm your

  439. children as an Earthly father. He's talking in the normative

  440. General sense, how it should be. He's saying you being evil know

  441. how to do what's right? How much more your heavenly

  442. father? This is the Comfort to the

  443. Saints. This is what should this is what

  444. would have comforted the early Believers.

  445. Hey, what do we believe? Here, you know, we're followers

  446. of the way now, we've put our faith in Jesus.

  447. What does this really look like? Well, that means god is your

  448. father guys. Father.

  449. Okay, that's good news. I have I never had a father

  450. before. Yeah, you do.

  451. Now you do now. He's a father to the fatherless

  452. and he's good. Oh, is he kind of like Caesar?

  453. Because you know, the Romans have said Caesars a father?

  454. No, no, he's way better than Caesar is.

  455. He like Zeus the no Zeus just wants to zap you with lightning.

  456. Remember, Jesus is like, waiting for you to mess up and to put

  457. you On blast but we don't have that.

  458. We have a father who actually loves us and who wants what's

  459. best? And who wants what's right?

  460. He's always seeking our good. back in chapter 6, all this is

  461. is in the same context here where Jesus is still preaching

  462. and teaching chapter 6 and verse 8, He says right before he told

  463. us the Lord's Prayer says do not be like them talking about.

  464. The Gentiles do not be like them for your father and your father

  465. knows what you need before. You ask him, your father knows

  466. what you need before you ask He knows when the sparrow Falls.

  467. He feeds the animals Jesus says you're worth much more than

  468. sparrows than many sparrows. Humans are worth more than

  469. animals. Why?

  470. Because God said so because we are made in His image and his

  471. likeness, he goes you're worth much more than the flowers of

  472. the field, the flowers of the field.

  473. Don't worry about tomorrow. The birds aren't worried about

  474. tomorrow. Hey you got a father if you

  475. believe that you have a Heavenly Father well that changes the way

  476. you look at the week without change the way you look at your

  477. checkbook. If you believe you have a

  478. heavenly father, will that change the way you look at the

  479. news? Will that change the way you

  480. look at the the newest tragedy and the latest thing that's

  481. taking place over the new thing that you're supposed to be

  482. afraid of? People who don't have a father

  483. or panicked because they are their own covering.

  484. If your own head, if you're the top of the food chain, that's a

  485. scary place to be because anything that can take you out,

  486. it's over. But when you have a Heavenly

  487. Father, Like Jesus taught, you, you have a safe place to go.

  488. This is who are God, is he, is deeply.

  489. Personal, God is also all-powerful.

  490. What does it mean that God is Almighty?

  491. I believe in God, the Father Almighty creator of heaven and

  492. earth. Oh, mighty means.

  493. This having complete power omnipotent.

  494. Our father is personal but he's also all-powerful.

  495. That's good news, right? Don't you want your dad to be

  496. the most powerful as a kid? That's what I said.

  497. My dad can beat up your dad. This is way better than my dad.

  498. Can beat up your dad. This is my, my God is my dad.

  499. My dad is my God. My father is God, and he's

  500. all-powerful. He's perfect in all his ways and

  501. he's Unstoppable. Our father is the almighty one

  502. who can do. Anything, he knows everything.

  503. This is important. Simple foundational Doctrine,

  504. God knows everything. He sees everything, he knows

  505. like David was saying in the psalm before I even speak a

  506. word, the Lord knew what was coming, he knows my inward, most

  507. thoughts, the things that I'm dodging, things that I'm not

  508. even wanting to take time to meditate on and think about to

  509. repent of and to root out the Lord knows it's all there.

  510. He sees it all that's scary and he loves me, he's personal and

  511. he's powerful. His power also means that he has

  512. wrath because he is so holy. He's so loving.

  513. He's also just and righteous and consistent.

  514. This is how the grace of God on the fear of God, go together the

  515. grace of God, the personal side that we would think of, in the

  516. fear of God. We think that they're divorced,

  517. they can't be separated. You can't separated.

  518. You can't have intense love and not have judgment.

  519. You can't have intense, love and not have wrath.

  520. We understand this. When we think about an

  521. understanding of a willingness to act on the behalf of someone

  522. that you love, Who Do You Love most on this Earth?

  523. And now imagine someone hurting them and doing something to

  524. them. I think that you feel that is a

  525. righteous wrath that you feel there can be an unrighteous

  526. wrath as well but there's a righteous wrath when there's

  527. love there is there is a willingness to act on the behalf

  528. of the one who is so deeply loved and this is always true of

  529. God. This is what again why it's

  530. nonsensical when the enemies of God and tried to teach the

  531. Believers of God. The the enemies of God will say

  532. foolish things that make no sense and they'll say well if

  533. God if I was God just Stop, don't even finish your dumb

  534. sentence. But if I was God, I would do it

  535. like this. Well, spoken like a sinful human

  536. who isn't God, and who doesn't love God, and who doesn't pursue

  537. God in any way? But go on, if I was God, I would

  538. just say, hey, everybody. It's okay, here's the problem

  539. with that. Hey, y'all, it's not okay?

  540. This is what a good judge recognizes a good judge when

  541. he's got the ax murderer in front of him.

  542. He doesn't go. You know what?

  543. I'm just going to say it's okay. Is that a good judge?

  544. Is he just, is he righteous? Was he good to the victim?

  545. Was he good to the loved ones? Oh but I just feel like love is

  546. love and mercy his mercy and and you know, kindness is kindness.

  547. Well, you said three things that didn't make any sense.

  548. Those are just circular reasoning that bear.

  549. No fruit and mean nothing again standing out over Oblivion.

  550. It's my feelings. As my preference is instead of

  551. what God is defined is normal. Love requires wrath?

  552. This is obvious. This is simple.

  553. It's a willingness to act on behalf of the one love God.

  554. Love the Israelites. So the Egyptians found out,

  555. didn't they through all ten plagues?

  556. The Wrath increases and increases and increases and

  557. increases and increases y because of my love for my

  558. people. When there's love, there's a

  559. willingness to act on behalf of the ones loved and sometimes the

  560. ones loved even feel that as the Israelites often did as a father

  561. will discipline his children, loving fathers will do that.

  562. Why? Because love brings that motive.

  563. If I love my sons, I will discipline them.

  564. If I hate my son's, I won't discipline them.

  565. I've reminded my children that for ever since they were very

  566. little would say, hey, if the Bible says, if I don't spank

  567. you, it means that I hate you. There's a lot of kids in this

  568. Don't spank. But there's three in particular

  569. that I love more than all the other children.

  570. I love all the children in the world but there's three in

  571. particular that I love more in that love most and I will

  572. discipline them because I love them because of my deep love for

  573. them. I will bring training, I'll

  574. bring instruction, I'll bring the needed discipline, the right

  575. thing at the right time, it's because of love that, I'll do

  576. that turn to Hebrews chapter 11. Why can't God just Overlook sin?

    Hebrews 11 chapter mention

  577. Well, it's not a bad question as long as they're not bad faith

  578. along with it. God can't Overlook, send those

  579. because God Is So, holy God Is So Perfect.

  580. Well, if he's just, if he's in charge of everything, if he's

  581. the rule maker, it's not that he's the rule maker, he is the

  582. rule itself, he is goodness. And in him, there is no Darkness

  583. at all. Hebrews 11 verse 26.

    Hebrews 11:26

  584. That's a Hebrews 11. I'm in Hebrews 10.

  585. Hebrews 10 verse 26. For if we go on sinning

    Hebrews 10:26

  586. deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth there, no

  587. longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation

  588. of judgment and a fury of fire that will consume the

  589. adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law

  590. of Moses dies without Mercy on the evidence of two or three

  591. Witnesses. How much worse punishment do you

  592. think will be deserved by the one who has Trampled Under Foot,

  593. the Son of God and is profaned. The blood of the Covenant by

  594. which he was Sanctified and has outraged the spirit of Grace,

  595. for we know him who said vengeance is mine and I will

  596. repay. And again, the Lord will judge

  597. his people. It is a fearful thing.

  598. To fall into the hands of the Living God.

  599. So what's possible is it's possible to take versus on their

  600. own and say I'm building my entire perspective of God off of

  601. this passage alone. I could do it over here as well.

  602. I, I like this passage. Well, you, you can like that

  603. passage, but we're to take the Bible and all of its counsel.

  604. What does the whole scripture teach us about God?

  605. I thought he was father and now he's gonna burn people up both

  606. and yes, also, God is kind good. Loving father, he is Almighty.

  607. He's holy, he's perfect. He has standards, he has

  608. expectations. He is set apart in every way.

  609. God is perfectly good. God is light and there is no

  610. darkness in him. That means he cannot and will

  611. not have fellowship with Darkness.

  612. If he did, then he would no longer be good.

  613. He would be dimmed. He would be tainted.

  614. That's not possible. So what is what's the only

  615. option? Well the only option is to take

  616. all the impure and to make it holy like him that's the only

  617. hope. He will not turn down his

  618. volume. The only opportunity that anyone

  619. has is that ours could be turned up.

  620. That we could be brought to somehow some way that we could.

  621. Be brought up into his presence, so that's why.

  622. Every world religion would teach, everybody senses the

  623. distance from God. So that's why every world

  624. religion teaches that, you got to do something.

  625. So I even pagans will say even heathens will say you got it

  626. just be a good person. You know.

  627. Like everybody feels this drive towards goodness.

  628. Unfortunately, nobody can actually accomplish it.

  629. Everybody's goodness, everybody's Deeds are filthy

  630. rags. God says, hey, you turned your

  631. volume. You did your very best, right?

  632. Yes, it's not good enough. It's never going to be good

  633. enough. Well, that's not a very

  634. encouraging thing. For a father to say, you're

  635. forgetting the almighty, you're forgetting, his goodness, his

  636. Holiness as Justice. Well, I don't like that.

  637. Well, there's good news by the way, he could have left it there

  638. and he would have been right to do so.

  639. But the good news is our father is merciful, our God is so good.

  640. Our father is so kind and he made a way, these are two

  641. separate worlds, is what I'm trying to show you.

  642. I don't want you to just think. Oh, he's personal and friendly

  643. Daddy, but sometimes you got to be scared of him.

  644. No, no, that was where I started.

  645. To show you. But when I want to show you is

  646. it's the same God, the Father, the almighty, the Creator, and

  647. Heaven and Earth. It's not a good day and a bad

  648. day. It's not the Old Testament.

  649. And the New Testament, we're reading the New Testament.

  650. By the way, in Hebrews right now, this is the same God he's

  651. always good, he's always perfect, which is why he will

  652. always deal with the axe murderer.

  653. Like like we reference the judge a minute ago.

  654. Should what should happen with the axe murderer?

  655. Well, could he be changed into something else?

  656. Now, you're getting somewhere. Could he be made new?

  657. Yes, but Justice still has to be satisfied.

  658. So who's going to satisfy this Justice?

  659. Because God's not going to just Overlook something and go and no

  660. big deal. It is a big deal.

  661. It's such a big deal that blood had to be shed.

  662. It's such a big deal that something had to happen.

  663. But that's the common perspective of sinful humans.

  664. If God is God, why can't he just say?

  665. It's fine because it's not fine, it's not In the Israelites, like

  666. we're referencing a minute ago, they were only spared.

  667. Why? Because of the blood of the

  668. Lamb? That's the thing that spared

  669. them. That's the thing that made the

  670. difference that night, as the death angel came, the wrath of

  671. God came for judgment. How could you be spared from

  672. this? You got to take the blood of the

  673. lamb and it's got to be applied to the doorpost.

  674. That was the Passover. So the instruction came to Moses

  675. and God told Moses. I'm going to destroy everybody

  676. tonight. I've been, I've been warning

  677. Pharaoh. I've been warning Egypt, I've

  678. been warning them over and over. And now here we come time's up

  679. that bowl of Wrath has been filled up.

  680. Look at God's patients were so foolish and ignorant.

  681. When we say, I don't understand why God it's, I don't understand

  682. why he didn't do it sooner. It's a lack of understanding of

  683. God's holiness whenever we think, well, that seemed extreme

  684. when he said, kill every man. A woman child and animal that

  685. seemed extreme whenever he said this.

  686. Whenever he said that, that know what's Wild is that he didn't

  687. annihilate us, instantly at Adam.

  688. That's what's crazy, everything else.

  689. Every other moment that I take a breath is Grace, it's the

  690. miracle of Mercy. It's love.

  691. It is God's extravagant love. It's only in my extreme

  692. arrogance where I go? Well I don't know why he would

  693. punish that. You ought to be amazed that

  694. you're getting to breathe and think thoughts.

  695. That's his incredible Mercy. But for the grace of God, I

  696. would already be receiving everything I already deserve,

  697. which is eternity in Hell, burning and suffering with Satan

  698. and all the enemies of God. That is exactly what I deserve.

  699. I've earned it just by being born through Adam.

  700. I've earned it and I deserve it. This is Christian doctrine.

  701. This is understanding, God, the Father Almighty.

  702. Wow, this is comforting, he's father, he's Almighty.

  703. He provided the blood of the Lamb to the Israelites.

  704. And, of course, the blood of the Lamb that night was just

  705. pointing to the Future lamb. The lamb who is going to be

  706. slain for everybody. Through Christ God's justice, is

  707. fully satisfied and God's. Mercy is freely given so me the

  708. axe murder, plot twist, surprise, surprise, me the ax

  709. murderer. Can I be forgiven?

  710. I can be forgiven, but I've got to be made.

  711. New God. Doesn't say Joe Michael.

  712. It's no big deal. God says it is a really big

  713. deal, but I love you. So I'm going to save you.

  714. I'm going to rescue you, but I'm going to make you new, like your

  715. unacceptable as you are. I don't accept you.

  716. As you are, I'll make you into something new.

  717. I'll Transform. You, I'll take away your sinful

  718. nature. So, you'll truly have a new

  719. identity. You won't be an Ax Murderer

  720. anymore. But what about the punishment

  721. for your sin, I can't just go, here's a freebie.

  722. There's got to be suffering, there has to be because God is

  723. Justice. God is just and judgment is

  724. good. So this is where the sun comes

  725. in. And Jesus says, I'll take the

  726. punishment, we will, we will do this miraculous substitution

  727. where I will give people my righteousness and I will take on

  728. their sin. He became sin who knew no sin,

  729. so that we could become the righteousness of God in Christ.

  730. So through Christ, God, satisfies his Justice and he

  731. points all of his wrath at Jesus for you.

  732. And for me, I deserve a lot worse.

  733. Yeah. Look at the cross.

  734. That's why the cross is such a horrific and wonderful thing.

  735. You see it. All you see the mercy of God,

  736. you see the love of God. And you see the wrath of God

  737. poured out. Why is the cross such a?

  738. It's such a just place but at the same time we feel this

  739. Injustice because they're an innocent man.

  740. They're an innocent man, truly innocent more innocent than any

  741. newborn baby you've ever seen an innocent man, taking the penalty

  742. for everybody. Why?

  743. Because the godhead, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

  744. decided And Jesus submitted to the will of the Father.

  745. The father is the one that Jesus submits to the father provides

  746. leadership in the godhead, although there are equal in

  747. every way co-equal and coeternal, they have different

  748. roles and we're going to look at the different roles of the

  749. Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, as we go through the

  750. rest of our series, but this is the good news, your father loves

  751. you. Your father frees you from sin.

  752. Your father disciplines you. He's just a good father.

  753. Anything gets good anything, that's true.

  754. Anything that's beautiful. It's because our heavenly father

  755. has initiated our heavenly father is not bad and Jesus came

  756. to protect us from the big bad heavenly father.

  757. That is a misunderstanding and a heretical teaching its

  758. foolishness. The godhead is united in his

  759. purpose and his will and his love towards us and our heavenly

  760. father our God I do the creator of Heaven and Earth he is good.

  761. He has for us he is to be trusted.

  762. He is to be obeyed and he has to be loved like a father.

  763. He is CBO approached and fellowshipped with like a

  764. father. He is to be respected and

  765. honoured life a father both. And at all times Heavenly Father

  766. we love you. We approach the throne of grace

  767. with boldness because Jesus made away.

  768. It was your purpose in your plan to love us, you knew that we

  769. would send against you. You knew what it would cost.

  770. You knew that it would break your heart as we rebelled.

  771. You knew that it would break your heart as your only son gave

  772. himself and you gave him freely because of the extreme love you

  773. have for us that were thankful for your infinite power.

  774. The you will fully complete the you have fully and completely

  775. defeated death that you have defeated sin, the you'll defeat

  776. all of your enemies. And that you will rule Forever

  777. on your throne and that you call us up to sit beside you.

  778. We won't be strangers. We won't feel awkward around

  779. you. Will feel comfortable, it'll

  780. feel normal. We approach our father with joy

  781. knowing that he Delights in us. God, thank you so much for your

  782. mercy and your compassion, help us to see you as you really are

  783. not to understand you with dichotomies but to understand

  784. you and truth that you are the one God, the Living God, who is

  785. worthy of Our Praise Or Glory adoration and worship.

  786. Thank you for rescuing us and for caring for us.

  787. Well God, we ask that you continue to massage your truth

  788. into our hearts and continue to bring us Revelation so that it

  789. would change the way that we live make.

  790. All these things show up practically this week in our

  791. lives. Help us to live differently

  792. because we have a Heavenly Father Who is all-powerful.

  793. We thank you in Jesus name now. The Lord bless you and keep you

  794. the Lord. Make his face shine down upon

  795. you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up his countenance

  796. upon you and give you great. Peace in Jesus name.

  797. Amen.
