Matthew pt. 42 - Divided Kingdoms and the Unforgivable Sin

Preached him. It was three weeks in a row that

I didn't preach. So it's been like a month for

me, right? So today I'm going to go about 2

1/2 hours to make up for it. Sounds like nervous laughter

instead of like, is he joking? I'm not so sure.

We do have a lot to. Cover so y'all better listen

fast. We're in Matthew chapter 12.

If you remember from a few weeks back.

So we are picking up now in Matthew chapter 12.

We're in verse 22 and I'm going to read to you through verse 32.

Then a demon possessed man who was blind and mute was brought

to him, talking about brought to Jesus, and he healed him, so

that the man spoke and saw. And all the people were were

amazed and said, can this be the son of David?

When the Pharisees heard it, they said It is only by

Beelzebel the Prince of demons, that this man casts out demons.

Knowing their thoughts, he said to them.

Every. Kingdom divided against itself

is laid waste, and no house or city divided against itself will

stand. And if Satan casts out Satan, he

is divided against himself. How then will his Kingdom stand?

And if I cast out demons by Beelzebel, by whom do your sons

cast them out? Therefore they will be your

judges. But if it is by the Spirit of

God that I cast out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come upon

you. Or how can someone enter a

strong man's house and plunder his goods?

Unless he first binds the strong man, then indeed he may plunder

his house. Whoever is not with me is

against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.

Therefore, I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven

people, but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not

be forgiven. And whoever speaks a word

against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks

against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven either in this age.

Or in the age to come. Heavenly Father, we approach

your word this morning with humility and we.

Ask for your. Direction and for your help.

I ask again for your help as we come to this passage that has

been often debated, often confused, and often become a

source of fear in the hearts of the tender.

Of your flock. But God, I ask.

That you administer as you see fit today, I ask that you would

speak through your word, that I would speak with precision, with

clarity, and most importantly, with your anointing.

And that your power would come out to bless your people.

That your power would come to help your people.

That it would correct where it needs to correct.

They would it would relieve where it needs to relieve.

And that it would comfort where it needs to comfort.

So that your Saints would walk away stronger, more equipped,

more humble, more obedient, more sincere, more loving and more

faithful to you. That's our prayer.

Who is fit to do such a thing except you.

So we need you, we trust you, we rely on you.

Holy Spirit minister in Jesus name, Amen.

So this passage of scripture I remember.

As a little boy, the. First time I came across it in

my Bible, going to dad and asking him, just found there's

this unpardonable sin thing. So it's often referred to as the

unpardonable sin. And dad gave me a, an

explanation. Thankfully that was correct and

it was the, it was simple enough that I could understand at that

time. And you're going to get the same

true explanation today. You're going to get the same

clarity, but I'm praying that you'll have more understanding

around it beyond just the principle of the thing.

The walk away is pretty simple when we get to that portion, but

I wanted to speak to that right out of the gate because we're

not starting there, but that's oftentimes somebody goes hang on

a second. I can't think or see anything

else until we address this big, big, big important elephant in

the room. Is there an unpardonable sin?

Yes, there most definitely is. What is it?

We're going to clarify and explain in a few minutes, but

we're going to start back up at verse 22.

Verse 22 There's a man who is demon possessed and he is blind

and he is mute. So this is something that we see

over and over. We've seen as soon as Jesus

began his ministry, He teaches what the Kingdom is like, but he

also shows what the Kingdom is like.

I wonder what God is like. Well, you don't have to wonder.

You can just look at Jesus. I wonder what Jesus would do in

this situation. I wonder.

What God's will? Is pertaining sin.

Well, Jesus called everybody to repent of their sin because the

Kingdom of heaven had come near them.

So Jesus preached repentance. Remember that everybody say yes.

You remember when that happened, Jesus didn't just say, hey,

everybody have a wonderful plan for your life.

That wasn't the message of the gospel, the Kingdom that Jesus

brought. It was repent and believe the

gospel, repent and follow me. So repentance hasn't change your

life, change your direction, submit to me.

But he also showed us what is the what is God like?

What's he really like? Well, we saw people who were

sick and we haven't come across one yet who hasn't been healed.

Every single one we've come across so far has been healed.

So we're still waiting for all these people that Jesus doesn't

want to heal. We'll we'll see when we get

there. We found all these demon

possessed people. We haven't found one yet that

Jesus left the demons inside of. And here we have the same thing

happening again. For our context, remember maybe

maybe a few days previous, maybe a few weeks, who knows exactly.

We're probably not on the Sabbath anymore though.

So remember, Jesus was healing on the Sabbath and the Pharisees

whose. Hearts hate him.

Their hearts hate him. That's their problem.

Their problem is not that they love the word of God so much.

The problem is that they love themselves and they're prideful.

They hide behind a love for the word of God.

But the fruit of their life reveals that they don't love the

word of God because if they love the word of God, they would love

God. If they love the word of God,

they would love God's people. And they make no compassion.

They make no room. So disciples who get a little

bit of grain to eat, they go, you're violating the Sabbath.

Well, the word of God. Doesn't say they can't do that.

Your. Rules that you put say that.

So we talked about legalism and we show we saw how Jesus put

these guys in their place, but they continue to come after him.

They continue to come after him. And here they make really just a

final and tragic mistake in in their situation for them.

A man is blind and mute, but Jesus heals him, so now he can

speak and he can see. Let's just state the obvious

again. Satan is bad, God is good.

Really basic stuff here. Thank you, Pastor Obvious for

that one. What does Satan want to do?

He wants to destroy people's lives.

This is what he's continually done.

Jesus refers to people's sickness.

He refers to people's disease. He refers to people's demon

possession as a negative, an objectively bad thing.

It's not. Well, I could kind of see it,

but look what the Lord did. Hang on a second.

Don't confuse those two things. Yes, bad thing happened and then

good thing happened later. Well, good thing.

Couldn't have happened unless bad thing happened.

Also true, but that doesn't mean that God created bad thing to

then later do good thing. It's called resurrection.

It's the principle of resurrection.

So when something died, it now qualifies for resurrection.

So we have the gospel, we have the cross, and we have the

resurrection of Jesus Christ. Why?

Because of the tragedy of the garden, Adam's sin against God.

And yet it wasn't God's will for Adam to sin in the garden.

This is basic logic stuff. This is basic thinking.

So Jesus understands that the devil is bad, that God is good,

and everybody understands this. But look what Satan does to

people. He makes people blind.

He makes people mute. I want to point out though, that

he doesn't only do this when he can possess somebody.

We don't know why this man was oppressed so heavily or

possessed potentially, but we know that Satan wants to do

whatever he can to everybody. So I don't want you to just go,

oh, I just, I don't have to think about demon possession.

Well, as a St. as a child of God, no, you don't have to worry

that you could be possessed by the devil.

And yet scripture makes very obvious and very plain that we

are oppressed by the enemy. This is why the scripture tells

us that we are to put on the armor of God because we we

wrestle not with flesh and blood, but there is a

supernatural. World.

Pastor, you expect me to believe in demons?

Yeah, of course I do. Why?

Because Jesus does. Because the Bible teaches it.

This is a fundamental reality that exists.

It's not a natural phenomenon. It's a supernatural phenomenon,

but it's real. So I think it'd be very naive to

think that we weren't in some way impacted or attempted to be

impacted or influenced by the demonic This week persons.

Demonic persons. Not humans, but demonic

entities, actual demon beings. How did this happen?

Well, Satan caused 1/3 of the angels to follow him out of

heaven in their rebellion against God, and now they have a

limited authority on the earth to function and to interact, to

oppress people, to possess people.

You might think we don't see this as often as we do as often

in our modern. Day as we did the New Testament,

but I think that's largely because we medicate it now we we

put all of our mentally oppressed people we leave in the

streets to be homeless or. We just always assume it's a

mental illness. There is a difference between

mental illness, by the way, and demon possession.

I think that's clear and obvious as well.

And yet our Western temptation is to always see anything wild

and crazy and go that it's a mental issue, it's a broken

brain, it's a mental imbalance. They need the right, they need

the right cocktail of chemistry for their brain to function

properly. That's naive.

It's prideful arrogance of the West, where we think we're

enlightened and in fact, in being wise we've become fools

because we don't recognize that there's a spiritual.

Enemy all around us, attacking us.

So what does that mean for us? It means if Satan can't make us

physically blind and physically unable to speak, then he wants

to make us spiritually blind. And if he can't make us

spiritually blind, if the Lord opens up the eyes of your heart,

the Holy Spirit brings you to clarity in Christ, then the next

thing Satan wants to do is he wants you to be a quiet

Christian. If he can't keep you blind, you

go, wow, I've seen the truth in the light of the gospel, and now

you come into the Kingdom. The next thing he wants to do is

make you a quiet Christian. That's fine.

Just just just keep that to yourself.

Just stay quiet about it. So of course, that never happens

When Jesus delivers somebody in the scriptures, though when

Jesus heals and delivers somebody in the Scriptures, they

go tell everybody. So Jesus heals this man.

Jesus delivers this man, He will heal you.

He will deliver you if you submit to you.

He'll if you submit to him, he'll open your eyes.

If you submit to him also, he'll open your mouth.

This is a calling for every Christian to go into the harvest

and to make disciples. Well, I don't think I'm Billy

Graham. Nobody told you that you're

Billy Graham. But you are you and you are a

St. who has opportunities, who has relationships, and the world

is literally going to hell. Literally, hell is real, Jesus

says. So again, these are all

fundamental realities in the Christian faith that we should

acknowledge and go, ma'am, my love.

For people compels me to tell them, well they might not like

it. My love for people compels me to

but they might get my love for people because I believe the

word of God so their conviction isn't going to be greater than

mine and if it is I then I didn't love them enough.

I don't listen to my children about what they think is best

for me, particularly the younger.

They were what they think is best for their lives.

Oh, but they might not like that they don't want to get strapped

into the car seat. So what do we do?

I don't know. What a moral conundrum, right?

It's nonsense. Of course we do what love does.

We do what's best for the people that we love.

So the Lord will do that. But that's a prayer that you've

got to pray in submission. Lord, help me.

Help me to open my mouth. Lead me to persons of peace.

Lead me to the person who's already.

Lead me to the person who is eager.

Jesus said the harvest is ready, but the laborers are few.

We're praying that that wouldn't be the case for us.

Let's keep going to verse 23. And all the people were amazed.

And said, can this be the son of David?

So the ministry has continued. Crowds have gathered.

Miraculous things have already been happening.

We've gone step by step through Matthew and we've seen the

ministry swell and grow and continue to expand and people.

Are more and more people? Are responding.

This is the work of the Holy Spirit in these people's hearts.

This isn't just people connecting the dots logically on

their own, It's actually the work of the Holy Spirit because

they're saying could. This be the Messiah.

These people are building hope. They're beginning to believe,

but it's almost too wonderful to imagine.

Do we have God with us? Come on, Remember the Jewish

people, how long they've been waiting?

They've they've seen all the promises.

They've seen all the promises. They've seen all the promises.

And now they're going look. What he's doing, Look how he's

setting the captive free. Look how he's healing.

Look what he preaches and what he teaches.

Look how he speaks with an authority, not like the scribes

and the Pharisees. Can this be the son of David?

I can imagine that their faith. I can imagine their tears of

wonder as they're sharing these conversations, as they're so

excited and they're going home and they're telling.

This is what happened today, and I've got to follow the Master

some more because I think this could be the son of David.

Don't speak that way. You know, the Messiah is going

to destroy Rome when he comes. You know, they had all their

expectations of what he would be and how he.

Should do it. And Jesus comes in silently in

the night unannounced to the world.

But now his Kingdom is fully coming on the earth.

He's expanding his Kingdom and they're beginning to glorify

Jesus because the Holy Spirit is burning within them.

And as this faith is building up in in the people of God who he

came to save, the Pharisees and their hatred for Christ do a

terrible and wicked thing. But when the Pharisees heard it,

when they heard what? When they heard that, the people

were saying could. This be the.

Son of David, could this be the Messiah?

The Son of David, Remember David, second king of Israel,

greatest king of Israel, the Messiah will be one of his

descendants. So the son of David is a

reference to the Messiah. Could this be the son of David?

That means is this the Messiah? When the Pharisees heard it,

they said no, no, no. It's only by Beelzebul, the

Prince of demons, that this man casts out demons.

This is not just a an ignorant statement made in the moment.

We have seen this case building for a while.

We've seen their hatred building.

We've seen their hearts hardening face to face.

They claim to know the scriptures, but the Word of God

is now standing right in front of their face and they don't see

Him. They don't know Him.

We know the Word of God. No, the word of God is standing

right there. His name is Jesus.

The Word has become flesh and you don't know him.

And This is why Moses. Will judge you remember Jesus

told them that earlier. He says I'm not even going to

judge you on that day. I'm going to step aside from the

judgment and I'm going to say Moses, who you claim to love.

Moses will come and judge you because you love Moses

scriptures right? But Moses talked of me one

greater than Moses is here. Now you love Moses, you'll get

Moses, you're going to get all of Moses, and Moses will stand

there on that day in front of the Pharisees and say.

He rejected the King, the Messiah.

And the Lord, they're going to go, but.

Moses, but nothing. The king who I pointed to has

come, and of his reign there will be no end.

So their hatred has been building.

Their hatred has been building. And now what they've done is in

their heart. They have crossed a line.

And Jesus teaches here in a few moments.

We won't get there today, we'll get there next week.

That it is out of the overflow of the heart that the mouth

speaks. So it is out of the overflow of

a wicked, hateful heart. That they have now even gone

this far to say that no, no, no, everyone that not only do they

believe this for themselves, wicked enough as it is, but they

go, hey, everybody who's beginning to believe in the only

hope and source of salvation and the true God don't believe in

him. The work he's doing, He's doing

through the devil. So beelzebol was a slang term

that the Jews used. It was a derogatory term towards

Satan. It meant the Lord of the Flies

for that book. So the term Lord of the Flies

comes from that. That's its background.

But the Jews would say Beelzebol and that was Lord of the Flies.

It was a way to like make fun of the devil.

It was a way to belittle him. And I like it.

I like trash talking the devil. I like derogatory speech towards

the enemy. So fair game.

The problem is they applied it. To King Jesus.

The sinless, spotless Lamb of God and they've said he does

this by and they didn't even just say the devil, they said

the Lord of the flies. You just messed up, you went way

wrong and and now the sin that's been birthed in your heart.

Sin starts in seed form, starts with a seed and it grows and it

grows and it grows and it grows. When's the best time to pull

that? Weed out of your heart.

Yeah, See that weed come out of the flower bed, Dink?

No big deal. Just stay on top of it.

Dink. Just no big deal.

Stay on top of it just a little bit.

A little bit, a little bit, but when something grows, when

something takes. Root.

Go pull that tree of. Just go ahead and.

Pull it up. Sin is sin, right?

No sin can grow. Sin is conceived, the Scripture

says, and then sin grows, and then it gives birth.

To death. And that's the final step.

So what we're seeing happening in real time right now is these

particular guys in this particular occasion is revealed

through the verses that are coming.

Their sin gives full birth and it's over now.

It's over for them. Why?

Because they've rejected the Lord of Glory fully and

completely so. Quick side note also about

Pharisees. I always want to remind you of

this because this is a really common lie and really common

misunderstanding. Jesus doesn't oppose the

Pharisees because they are quote religious leaders.

Jesus doesn't oppose religious leaders for being religious

leaders. I'm a religious leader and

Jesus. Isn't mad at me.

Jesus opposes the proud. So the reason you look at the

scriptures and you see Jesus opposing the Pharisees was

because of their pride and their arrogance.

God opposes the proud so the ignorant and those unfamiliar

with the scriptures will go. Jesus wants to hang out with

with drunk people and he wants to attend the most wicked filth

there is. That's not scriptural and.

And he hates religious people. That's that's what I see in the

Bible. You haven't read the Bible.

You should go read it because it's not what happens.

Does Jesus love sinners? Yeah, all kinds.

But he will oppose the prideful. So whoever it could be, you.

Could qualify. I could qualify at any given

moment when we're. Prideful.

God opposes the proud, but he gives grace to the humble.

So at this point, at this time, the religious elite were

extremely prideful. They had put all these rules

around the word of God, things that God didn't say, and they

have burdened the people of God. They're supposed to shepherd the

people closer to the Lord. And instead they've put

boundaries between the people and the Lord and said, well,

actually the Lord says this, but we say be even more careful and

do this. They put all kinds of extreme

pressures on them that no one could keep and no one could

obey. And of course they didn't honor

the Lord. So then and now Jesus opposes

those who oppose him. And being the Good Shepherd that

he is, he does give particular attention to those who mislead

others. So sure, the more influential

person is in their pride and the way they mislead.

Others consequences will be greater as scripture makes that

plain as well. So the Pharisees hate Jesus.

And they're resisting the Holy Spirit who is revealing Jesus.

That's who they're resisting. The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus

and brings conviction for anyone to love Jesus, for anyone to

feel any impulse of repentance. Anytime you've ever felt any

guilt? Anytime you felt any ever any

shame or condemnation? Well, I'm going to use those

words loosely for now. Anytime you have felt the bad

thing for doing a bad thing, that did not come from you.

That did not come because I was raised right.

That came as a gift from God. Every human on earth has that

from them. How?

Because the Holy Spirit is that kind and that gracious to

everyone. So those who have never heard

the Scriptures still have the Spirit of God poured out on the

earth because the Bible also tells us that God has written

His law on the hearts of mankind.

This is why everyone knows at some point they might not any

longer because they went on that path long enough and he gave

full birth and the Holy Spirit said.

I'm finished with you. Which is what we're about to see

the Holy Spirit is willing to do in certain occasions, He is

absolutely willing to do that. Why?

Well, because you wanted him to. And that's the that's where we

have to make sure we get the, the cart behind the horse and,

and understand the correct order of things.

But they're resisting the Holy Spirit who's been revealing

Jesus. And they go so far as to say

it's only by Beelzebel, the Prince of demons, that this man

casts out demons. So they apply this derogatory

term to Jesus. He's been preaching the Kingdom,

showing the Kingdom. The God they're claiming to

follow is standing right in front of them and they say that

he's now working with the devil. But the Holy Spirit reveals

their thoughts to Jesus and Jesus now proceeds to expose

them and then he's going to instruct them and then he's

going to condemn them in verse 25, knowing their thoughts, He

said to them, every Kingdom against itself is laid waste,

and no city or house divided against itself will stand.

Just perfect logic from Jesus. Just showing the stupidity.

Of the argument that they're making, it doesn't make any

sense. If Satan robs banks and then

Satan gives money to banks, Satan's not making any progress

here. His Kingdom is ineffective.

Just basic stuff. A child goes, yeah, I get that

that seems stupid, and Jesus is pointing out the stupidity, the

ignorance. But why is it that the Pharisees

are that stupid? It's that they're that blind.

How could you be that blind? Because your heart gets that

hard. This is what you see in your

world today. Demonically influenced people

often can't make coherent arguments.

The. Frequent The frequent result of

a disordered heart is a disordered mind.

We see this often in our culture, with the most popular

sins in particular. I highlight these for you.

Unrighteous people can't make a clear and logical argument

regarding abortion or other sexual perversions.

We'll keep it generic. So they lie, they make up words

and they say things like it's a reproductive right when there's

nothing reproductive about it. Or they say things like love is

love when there's nothing loving about encouraging a person to

sin. If you pull the thread on those

conversations, these folks will quickly put the brakes on and

say I don't want to get into what the clear and coherent

thinking through the issue morally, ethically, and in the

sight of God. No, I don't want any of that.

Why? Because I hate God, that's why.

That's why. Because I hate the Holy Spirit

and his conviction and I can't and I won't think through it

because to think through it would lead you to the inevitable

conclusion of evil. And that is the thing I'm

staying away from. That is the Holy Spirit that I'm

rejecting. You think this is bold?

There's no, there's nobody bolder than Jesus.

The boldest pastor you know of is a Kitty cat compared to Jesus

in the way that he preached and taught this.

So who are? You condemning John Michael?

No one, because it is not my jurisdiction.

I am teaching you this sin and how it works.

Oh, I think that might apply to no, no, no, no, no, don't do

that. Don't do that.

Don't apply it to anyone because it's not your jurisdiction.

This is between them and the Lord.

What am I supposed to do in that situation?

You're supposed to pray to them and continue to minister the

gospel and hope that they haven't gone so far that they

have fully rejected the grace of God.

That's what you do because you love them and because you care

for them. Whoever, so whoever comes up.

Oh, I bet. No, no, no, no, no, no.

No, you're not the judge. You're not the judge.

We don't condemn anybody we judge as Scripture commands us

to. Jesus is literally getting ready

to tell us judge fruit. Judge the tree by its fruit.

I don't know what kind of tree that is, somebody know?

It's a Maple tree. You guys just judge that tree.

They did we we make all kinds of judgments, right?

There's certain things if you saw me do them, you would say

that is wrong. What is that?

It's called judgment. It's right.

What you shouldn't do is condemn me to hell and say, therefore

there's no hope for Joe Michael Clark and he can never be

redeemed. Then you've gone too far.

So Jesus taught us a lot about judgment.

Matthew Chapter 7, every non Christian's favorite verse.

Judge not lest you be judged. And then of course they don't

read everything else he says and goes here's what I mean by that.

Here's how to judge. So the perfect logic of Jesus

making things plain. Jesus gives us clear logical

truth. You think the devil is now in

the business of restoring people's lives?

He destroys their life and then wants to go.

And let me, hey, let me control you and possess you, and now

also let me help you. Every Kingdom divided against

itself is brought to ruin. Jesus says so again, he's just.

It's just plain and simple logic that doesn't make sense.

It would break. It would fall apart.

Satan's Kingdom would cease to function.

Satan does have a Kingdom. Another obvious point here to

note. It's not.

Equal to the Lord's. They're not like, Oh no, it's an

epic battle. Who's going to win?

It's going to go. It's like, it's not like a Rocky

movie. Oh no, it's going to be a close

fight. That's not what happens.

That's not what it's like at all.

And yet through through Adam's sin, Satan has a temporary and

limited authority on the earth. Through our through our our

lease is how Satan has his functioning abilities right now,

but Jesus is coming in as the stronger man.

As the stronger man, if you want to go into somebody's house and

take his stuff, Jesus saying I want to go into Satan's house

and take his stuff, he's like you got to tie up the strongman.

Well, who can tie up the strongman?

A stronger man, Jesus is that. Stronger man, he's going.

I'm going to come into his house and I'm going to take what I

want. What does he want to take?

He wants to save you. He wants to rescue you from your

wicked, wicked tyrant, Satan, from your own flesh, from your

own sin, from your own perversions, from your own

lusts. That is what Jesus saying.

I'm coming in to deliver people. I'm going to open the eyes of

the blind. I'm going to open the mute

mouths. I'm going to heal the sick.

And most importantly, I'm going to deliver people from the evil

of sin. So they will be.

A new creation in me. I'm going to give them a new

life. Their old life is so bad that

they have to die, but it's going to be a spiritual rebirth that

they're going to experience. Every Kingdom divided against

itself is brought to ruin. This also means something for us

practically, that we can see the obvious point.

This would apply to our country. This would apply to our region.

This would apply to our household.

If our country continues to divide, the outcome is

inevitable. It's not.

That's not negative talk, it's just obvious talk.

If our if a country continues to divide any country, pick your

country, pick your issues. If they continue to divide, the

outcome's inevitable. Simple.

Statement. Same thing's true in any

environment, any any place where there once was unity if there

continues to grow in division in.

A household, the outcome is inevitable.

My question for you is, when you think about the country and we

think about your household, let's be honest, which of these

areas do you have the most influence in?

Now, which of those areas are you most tempted to give your

attention to? The most tempted to The one I

have the least influence. Over.

That's the typical. Thing.

I hope not. So what does it?

Look like for a household, the most common way, not the only

way. These are quick generalizations.

They're generalizations because they're generally true.

The most common way that a husband divides his household is

by taking a passive role in his household.

He doesn't do anything maliciously, but he doesn't do

anything at all. The most common way a wife

divides her household is with her anxious control.

Her fears rise up within her, therefore she jumps to the

outcome that she wants. That shows up in all kinds of

ugly ways. I love my country and I'm

concerned about its future. But if we had all focused on our

own households for decades now, our country wouldn't be where it

is. It would be wholesome and it

would be. Thriving.

How did we get here? Men didn't nurture their wives

and children and lead their families into God's Word.

Wives didn't submit to their husbands.

Parents let the world shape their children.

How did we get here? It just happened with I know who

it is and name the politician you like.

Least blame them there. It's foolishness.

It's stupidity, it's dishonesty. The church is is largely

responsible. And I told you this recently,

the pulpit is largely responsible for the state of the

United States of America. Because when the pulpit is weak,

then the families are also weak. But, but you make sure you take

your fair share of accountability as well.

Men in particular, men in households.

I'm looking at you, eyeballs on eyeballs.

As a man goes, so goes the household.

As the household goes, so goes society.

So anyone in any place can have a righteous influence.

My encouragement to you is look first at yourself.

We are supposed to judge fruit. Jesus commands it.

We are supposed to be fruit inspectors, and yet we're

supposed to look mostly and. Firstly, at our own fruit.

What is your fruit look? Like that's we got a big mirror

in here. It's a good analogy for this

church. Look in that thing first before

you look around and go, what about?

What about hang on, judge yourself is the command and then

you won't be judged. And then you can make proper and

healthy assessments to get the log out of your own eye.

Now you can help your brother get the splinter out of his or

maybe he has a log as well, but you want to make sure that you

are clear and walk in with the Lord and all that you're doing.

I'm going to skip to verse 30. I'm going to continue on this

point and then we'll come back to those other verses.

How did we get here as a nation? It was one step at a time.

It was households not taking accountability for themselves.

In verse 30, Jesus says whoever is not with me is against me,

and whoever does not gather with me scatters.

What's the point here? The point is that there is no

neutrality. According to Jesus, there's no

neutrality. This is another mistake.

That the church made throughout the past decades, for sure for

the past six decades. The church believed this lie of

that the enemy sold the church and said, hey, you do your

thing, We'll do our thing. And the church was like, OK.

And the church just made a small step, just a baby step, towards

the Cliff. And the enemy kept saying, you

do your thing, we'll do our thing.

And the church somehow was the only one, whoever gave up any

ground in that conversation just a little bit.

Have you noticed the window sliding?

Have you noticed how things shift over time?

How what used to be holy and righteous is now a right wing

extremist, you know, and now what?

What used to be liberal is now something that if you had told,

if you had told any of us 20 years ago that things will be

normalized in our nation that are today all I believe, I would

bet, I would bet all the money that I have, I would literally

do it that that we all would have laughed and said that is

not possible. That's ridiculous.

That is not going to happen. Well, yeah, it is, because if

this leads to that, then that could lead to that.

That obviously that's the slippery slope fallacy.

And that will never happen. Well, here we are at the bottom

of the slope. But the church kept going.

I guess we should stay neutral. I guess we should stay neutral.

I guess we should stay neutral. And Jesus said, I'm coming to

take over the earth, go into all the world, teach them everything

that I have, or teach them to what?

Obey everything that I have commanded you.

Teach the world, all nations to obey everything I've commanded

you. Teach the world to obey Jesus.

The job of the church is to make disciples for the glory of God.

And for the love of people, that's not a neutral position,

right? That's not the Coexist bumper

sticker. Well, you know, you do your

thing. I'll do my thing well, But our

things are diametrically opposed to one another.

Oh, well, let's have daytime and nighttime at the same time.

We can you know, Allah is not God.

Allah is a demon. Allah is a false religion.

Islam is is destroying people's lives.

It's bondage. I don't think you should say

that. Well, I just I believe the book

and I'm going to keep pursuing Jesus truth.

So this this live neutrality, it doesn't exist in Jesus.

Jesus was not Mr. Rogers. Jesus is Jesus, so the more you

let him speak, the more you get the full picture.

Now we're getting a heavy dose in this particular passage,

right? So we remember, we see all of

Jesus as we read the Gospels. We don't just see one side, we

see both sides. We see Jesus is the right thing

at the right time for the right person.

What do you need if you're prideful?

I can tell you what Jesus you're going to get.

If you're humble, I can tell you what Jesus you're going to get.

So he calls us to humility, He calls us to obedience, He calls

us to submission. But he makes it plain whoever is

not with me is against me. If you're not gathering the

harvest with me, you're scattering the harvest.

So we don't take a neutral stance, but we also.

Remember, let's be clear, we don't wrestle against flesh and

blood, we just continue to go tell the truth.

Why did I even have to say that? I didn't give any examples of

wrestling with flesh and blood, but I know where your mind goes,

and I know where my mind goes. So we remember how do we advance

this Kingdom? We bear the fruit of the

Kingdom, and then we share the good news of the Kingdom, no

matter what the consequences might mean for us.

Now let's go back to verse 27. Jesus still with this perfect

logic here, If I cast out demons by Beelzebel, if I cast out

demons with the Lord of the flies, He's the one empowering

me to do this. By whom do your sons cast them

out? Therefore, they will be your

judges. So the disciples of the

Pharisees. It's who he's referring to here,

not their actual sons. But he's saying your sons would

be a reference to their disciples.

So he's saying you guys cast out demons, which history seems to

tell us that the Jews had, that the Lord and His mercy and grace

had a ministry through people where they were exercising

demons. So praise God for that but Jesus

saying if I'm doing it that way, who do y'all do it by again just

dumps them with obvious and plain thinking and continuing to

highlight hey, but now he goes on to say, but if it is by the

Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the Kingdom of God

has come upon you. He's been saying the Kingdom of

God has already come upon them, but now he's saying it

emphatically. This man was blind and unable to

speak, but the Kingdom of God is now breaking in on the earth.

The strongest man is here the king himself.

Verse 29 Or How can someone enter a strong man's house and

plunder his goods unless he first binds the strong man?

Jesus saying I just bound the strong man.

To deliver the goods. His sight.

To set free the things that Satan had taken hostage, he's

saying this is how this works. I had to go.

I have defeated Satan. I am crushing Satan.

I am working against Satan. I'm not neutral with him and I'm

certainly not partnered with him.

The strongest man is here, the King himself is here.

So Jesus makes it clear that the opposite of what they have said

is true. Not only is he not working with

Satan, but he has bound Satan. To accomplish this miracle.

He's come to plunder Satan's house and rescue all of his

hostages. Satan is the quote strong man,

but Jesus is the stronger man. And now we come to the blasphemy

against the Holy Spirit, verse 31.

So that's our context leading up here.

Men who hate Christ, who have been hating Christ for a while

now. Therefore, I tell you, every sin

and blasphemy will be forgiven, people, but the blasphemy

against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be

forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not

be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven,

ever. Let's be honest and plain about

that. Jesus said it.

That settles it. And yet it still begs the

question, all right. What does that mean, though?

What does that really look like? That is the question, right?

That was the question I had as a little boy.

Oh, my goodness, have I made this mistake?

The good news is I'll give you the I'll give you the answer up

front. This is not the same thing as

like an emphatic moment of if you put your finger right there

on this thing, that's the unpardonable sin.

It doesn't have the same kind of visual clarity for the whole

world That the that the sin of the garden did this this fruit,

if you eat it. You will surely die, he didn't

say. You can't look at it.

He didn't say you can't touch it.

He didn't say you can't sniff it.

He said if you eat it, you'll surely die.

This sin, and I'm going to show it to you from Scripture is not

the same kind of doesn't have the same kind of clarity around

it, which is why it's been perplexing to many and it's

grieved many people's souls and thought.

I'm afraid I think I've committed the unpardonable sin

because one time I said. God is dumb or?

Whatever. And they thought, well, I've

blasphemed the Holy Spirit. And and so now I'm doomed.

So we're going to walk through this.

The context and other scriptures are going to help us to see it.

The context shows us that this is a person who hates the Lord.

We see that. This is a person.

Jesus hasn't said this anywhere else.

He's come across a lot of people who didn't believe, come across

a lot of people who didn't really care, but he never said

anything like this. But now he's come across the

first people who have continually, continually,

continually. Sin was conceived.

Oh. That's dangerous.

Kill it now. Now it grows.

Oh, it's getting worse. Don't let that thing be born.

And now it's fully born. Jesus saying this is the moment

that you have sinned and blasphemed the Holy Spirit.

This is a moment where your heart has gone so far that you

will never again want to repent. So faithful pastors and

commentaries all talk about this the same way.

The point is simply, if you're worried that you've committed

the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, then you most definitely

have not committed the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

Wait, why? Because the Holy Spirit is the

only one who convicts you of sin.

And if you feel any conviction or concern over your sin, you

have the Holy Spirit convicting you and concerning you of sin

therefore. You have not been given up by

God in his judgement to be condemned.

That's the short answer. But now I'm going to keep

proving it to you. So this isn't the same thing as

saying in a moment, I did the thing, I pushed the button, I

said the thing. This this is revealing to us

that this isn't just saying the Holy Spirit's dumb or even

accidentally attributing the work of the Holy.

Spirit to Satan, because again, if we look at this text and face

value, which I love to have you do all the time.

Agreed, pastor, you're always saying what's the word say,

what's the word say? But remember, as as wise

Christians with the Scriptures, the question is not, do you have

a verse for that? That can lead to you to some

foolish and dumb places. The question is not, do you got

a verse for that? The question is, what does the

Word of God teach? That's the better question.

You got a verse for that? Hang on a second.

We can do some weird stuff with some verses.

We can take this verse and that verse and go ta da like that's

not, no, that's not what the Word of God teaches.

Well, I I. Found a verse like hang on, I

love the word of God. Do you love the word of God?

Yeah. All right then let's come.

Let us reason together and let's look at what the word is

teaching. I'm OK with whatever outcome we

arrive at as long as we did it honestly from the Word.

So the question is not, do you have a verse for that?

The question is, what's the word of God teach?

There's plenty of times in Scripture, those Saints, where

the verse and the teaching are explicitly plain and they go,

they go hand in hand, right? And that's where we go.

Look, let's just read out. Loud and be honest.

About what's happening here and then come to other places where

we go, but that seems to contradict.

OK, well, time out. We know it doesn't, so let's

learn. We know it doesn't contradict.

Well, which is true. We'll both.

So let's let's dig in. Let's study the word of God.

There's treasures here for us. They're hidden for us to enjoy

and to get to know him more. He'll share these things with

us. That's why we approach the Word

of God prayerfully and humbly. Mark's account, Mark's account

of the same situation, not a separate event, but Mark's

gospel says in the same thing that Jesus said these things

because they said that Jesus has a demon.

So this reveals that it's not a particular verbal sin that took

place. The blasphemy against the Holy

Spirit is not just they said you just did something by the work

of the Spirit. I'm going to say that you did it

by the work of the devil. Boom, you're doomed.

That's not how it works. If that was the case, then that

would mean our cessationist brothers and sisters who we love

and love the Lord. Cessationist meaning people who

don't believe. That the gifts of the Spirit are

still in operation today and one of them were to hear me praying

in tongues. That's a supernatural gift from

the Lord. That is clearly a Holy Spirit

ministry thing going on. And they go, I think that's

satanic chanting. What did they just do?

They plainly and clearly just attributed the work of the Holy

Spirit to the work of the devil. Are they ignorant for doing so?

Yes. Are they prideful?

Probably. Are they mistaken?

Definitely. But did they just?

Commit the important able sent. No, they did not.

This came up from a place of ignorance, not from a place of

why because the sin is not about you said the Holy Spirit did the

thing that the devil did or you said the devil did the thing the

Holy Spirit did. That's not what was happening

that that's what happened at the surface level.

That was the final, final piece of fruit for these Pharisees.

That was the final evidence why Jesus said your heart is so far.

Gone that you've condemned and rejected the Lord entirely.

So the unpardonable sin is the thing where you won't repent

ever again. That's why it can't be forgiven.

Because you won't repent, you can't be forgiven of the.

Unpardonable sin because you'll never ask to be forgiven.

You'll never care about being forgiven until you get to hell.

So this is all about a heart that is so opposed to God that

it's willing to lie. It's willing to call good evil

and evil good, and when we consider the role of the Holy

Spirit and what his role is, we understand this better.

Jesus tells us in the Gospel of John that the Holy Spirit

convicts the world of sin, so we know that is a primary function

and ministry for the Holy Spirit.

And we know that he's also going to reveal Jesus to the world.

So the Holy Spirit wants to glorify Jesus and say look at

him, look at him, look at him, and the Holy Spirit convicts you

of sin. And every other person who's

never heard the name of Jesus still has hope for the Kingdom,

because they can still respond to the goodness and the glory of

God through the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

And he will lead a humble heart. We also know the Scripture

teaches plainly the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin,

according to first John and other various places in the New

Testament. That's kind of the thing, right?

That's kind of the gospel. So this can't mean that there is

a sin that Jesus didn't carry on the cross.

This can't mean that. It can't mean that the Father

said I'm punishing Christ for this and this and this and that.

I'm not going to punish him for that.

Why? Because the other scriptures

tell us that Christ was punished for everything.

So we know this has to be revealing something different,

which is why it takes thoughtful conversation, study and and

humility to not just go, I have a verse and I'm going to latch

on to it and build an entire doctrine from it.

It's out of the mouth of every two or three witnesses.

That means we need multiple places in Scripture.

Multiple accounts that build doctrine for us so we can be

safe. So what this refers to is the

same thing that we saw in Hebrews recently.

Hebrews chapter 10 verse 26 to 31.

Hebrews 10:26–31

I'm going to read it to you. Hebrews 10/26.

For if we go. On sinning deliberately after

receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a

sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgement

and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.

Anyone who set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the

evidence of two or three witnesses.

How much worse punishment do you think will be deserved by the

one who has trampled under foot? The Son of God.

And has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was

sanctified. And has outraged the spirit of

grace. Who is the spirit of grace?

It's not a true question. The Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit

is the spirit of grace. You can outrage.

The Holy Spirit according to the Bible.

For we know him who said vengeance is mine, I will repay,

and again. The Lord will judge his people.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living

God. So we defined this before we

said God intervened with his goodness.

You're the car on the Interstate, going 80 miles an

hour towards the Cliff, and he steps in front of you.

But you. Plow straight through and run

him over. Trample him under your car.

The point is, there's no one else coming to save you.

He was it. There's not.

There's nothing else. There's not a guardrail.

Well, I think I can hit AU turn later.

You can't. And you won't, and you won't

want to. Jesus is the only barrier.

There's nothing and there's nobody, and there's nothing else

in all creation that can save us or can stop us.

Not our good morality, not anything else.

Good morality is good. Comes from God, by the way, but

that's not the same thing as being rescued and saved by the

blood of Jesus and putting your faith and love and devotion into

Him so to trample over him. How do I do that if we go on

sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge?

Of the truth. If we go on sinning deliberately

after Pastor, I still sometimes sin.

Well, congratulations. Sounds like you're a human

being. You have flesh.

Do you want to crucify that flesh?

Well, of course I do. Of course you do evidence that

you love the Lord and that you want to continue to grow in

sanctification and holiness. Well, I'm going to continue to

do my thing. And I, I'm, you know, I asked

God in my heart, you know, 700 years ago, you know, when I was

in Sunday school, when I was a little kid.

And I'm going to do what I want to do now.

Hey, may I share something with you?

I'm really concerned. Like that fruit doesn't seem to

match up at all with. Don't judge me.

So you know, I see. You know that verse.

Can we look at the rest of them together?

No, you're a bigot. OK, Well, now what?

I pray. I'm very concerned about the

absence of fruit. But I'm not the judge to

determine the finality of the situation.

I want to speak truth. I want to be loving.

Loving is speaking truth. By the way.

Same thing at the same time. It's not one or the other.

You can be loving or you can tell people the truth.

Hey man, the bridge is out. I recommend not driving over it.

Don't tell me how to drive. I love you enough.

To tell you how to drive. So you're driving.

You trample him. There's no one else to save you

at that point, and you will. Receive the wrath that you've

already deserved. That's the point.

So it goes like this. If you reject the testimony in

the ministry of the Holy Spirit, what's the testimony in the

ministry of the Holy Spirit? The testimony in the ministry of

the Holy Spirit is this. He testifies to Jesus and He

convicts you of sin. Follow with me.

If if you reject the testimony in the ministry of the Holy

Spirit, you have rejected your only hope of having the Son

revealed to you, you, you're unforgivable because you will

never seek his forgiveness. You've rejected the one who goes

Hey, I. Want to talk to you about your

sin and you go no. It'd been one thing to just let

it linger. It'd been.

It'd been another thing to still obey the weakness of the flesh.

It's another thing to say no, Holy Spirit, I reject your

conviction. Well, now there's no forgiveness

for you because, like, the whole forgiveness mechanism is gone.

He's removing it. You can outrage the spirit of

grace to the point where he says you really want that.

Yeah. Where do we see that?

Pharaoh is the perfect example. First plague Pharaoh harden his

heart. Second plague Pharaoh harden his

heart. Third plague Pharaoh harden his

heart. 4th plague Pharaoh harden his heart. 5th plague Pharaoh

harden his heart. 6th plague God harden fair his heart.

No fair. God spoken like a created being

full of pride and arrogance and no humility before the king.

Everything Pharaoh got was mercy.

Everything we all got was mercy, remember?

I can't believe God flooded the whole earth and drowned

everybody. I can't believe he saved eight

people. That's his mercy.

That's his grace. Eight people.

Why in the wickedness that we deserve?

Because he is good, as we sang, mute.

Me got to have a coffin spell, got to try it out.

Give me a second. It's not awkward.

For me it might be for you. I'm fine with it.

I'll repeat that point. If you.

Reject the testimony and ministry of the Holy Spirit who

testifies to Jesus and convicts you of sin.

You've rejected your only hope of having the Son revealed to

you. You're unforgivable because you

will never seek forgiveness. Pharaoh, when God hardened his

heart was unforgivable. Or what if he repented?

Or what if the Pharisees wanted to repent later?

You still have missed the point. Then they won't want to, because

remember, who gives you the desire to repent?

The Holy Spirit does, and guess who's never going to do that

again? The Holy Spirit.

That's what Jesus is saying. There does come a point.

There can come a day. I wonder if so and so, not your

jurisdiction, not your business. It's just the fact that Jesus

was pointing out for these individuals at this time.

And you should be very careful to allow your mind to wander in

this direction for others, because haven't you seen people

who you thought they hate God? And then you see decades later

they've turned to the Lord and are following the Christ.

They're following the Lord and righteousness and holiness and

faith. And you go.

Praise God. So we're not the ones called to

go. I think he's done the impartable

sin. I think the Lord is.

I think in all of his pride, he's gone to the he's gone

through the six steps of Pharaoh and I think he's too far gone.

And the Lord has said you can have what you want because that

is the judgment of God. Romans one and two tells us the

same thing. Judgment of God says I want

this, I want this, I want this and the Lord says finally you

can have it. That is his judgement.

That is his penalty. Why he gave you the phone and

that's what Romans talks about. The Lord gave them up to their

desires so that men burned with passion for men and women burned

with unnatural desire for women. The grace of God is the thing

that withholds. But when the when the Lord says.

We said please. And we're scratching and

clawing, and it's when the Lord goes.

And now the inevitable comes the sin.

It continues and it spirals and it grieves the Lord, but he's

not going to allow Christ to continually be trampled forever.

So what if the Pharisees want to repent later?

They won't want to, because the desire from for repentance comes

from the Holy Spirit. If you sin by rejecting the Holy

Spirit's work, who is there to bring you back?

Who is there if you sin by rejecting the Holy Spirit?

Who who now can save you? You can't be forgiven because

you never will again be given the desire to be forgiven.

You will never want to repent again.

God opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble.

This is one way that He does that.

So if you care at all, then that is evidence that you haven't

committed this sin because the Holy Spirit is still ministering

to you and that reveals He has not given you over to judgment.

So this is a matter of the heart rather than something that you

do suddenly and something that you do in one moment.

And we're closing, Adam. So Jesus says, as we're going to

see next week, out of the overflow.

Of the heart, the mouth speaks. And this isn't the first time he

said anything like this. Just a few weeks back, we

remember he was giving the woes. Woe to you, Pharisees.

Woe to you scribes. Woe to you, Bethsaida.

Woe to you, Capernaum. What were the woes in the

judgements he was pronouncing on everybody?

Why was he doing it? He said he told Capernaum.

They said it's going to be better for Sodom and Gomorrah on

the day of judgement. A filthy, filthy, filthy wicked.

Place that God thought was. So bad that it had to be

destroyed with fire from heaven. Actually happened.

Really happened. The Bible says so.

Jesus says so, he tells Capernaum.

Just the little fishing city that he lived in.

It'll be worse for you on the day of judgement than for Sodom

and Gomorrah. And we understood why.

We talked about why. Why?

Because you had the fuller grace.

The more you've received, the more you're responsible for and

the more you'll be judged according to the more light that

you've been given, the more your darkness becomes unacceptable.

So Sodom and Gomorrah are filthy, godless places to begin

with. But eventually God says, I, I

can't, I can't have any more of that.

But for Capernaum, you've got the king of glory.

He, he sleeps in the city, he walks, he preaches and he

teaches. And Capernaum went.

And he goes on to tell and he goes on, and we're going to

connect the dots in Matthew in the next couple of weeks where

you see. He goes on to say the men of

Nineveh will rise up in judgement against you.

He says that to the Pharisees. Remember Nineveh, That was

Jonah. The Lord called Jonah to go to

Nineveh and he's like, I hate those people.

I don't want to go. I know what's going to happen.

You're going to send me, I'm going to preach and that you're

going to not kill him. And that makes me mad.

I want you to kill him. So I'm not going to go preach.

And the Lord says you are going to go preach to Nineveh.

So he arrests him with a fish, probably bleaches his skin white

with summic acid. And he's probably bold by the

time he arrives. Jonah's probably a wreck.

And he preaches the worst sermon ever, 40 days in if it will be

destroyed. And that's it.

He walks through the city and hopes that they all die.

And the Lord says, thank you, Jonah.

I love those people. I'm going to I'm going to work

in their hearts. So the Holy Spirit ministered to

them. But Jesus says the men of

Nineveh will rise up in judgement against the Pharisees.

Why? Because the men of Nineveh

responded to the conviction of the Holy Spirit through the

worst sermon ever. The Holy Spirit moved and he's

like all right, Jonah that was that was terrible, but I worked

with it and the Holy Spirit because it is love for people.

He came to minister. So don't you dare walk away from

this text or from this sermon going can't believe the Lord

would do that. You have missed everything if

you don't recognize the kindness of God to stare Christ Jesus in

the face for months and maybe years and to continually hate

him. You don't understand the

kindness of God that's been showed to everyone in the earth,

the kindness of God that's being showed to you and I right now as

we have the privilege of gathering in his name to receive

his word. Don't walk away from this and

go. I'm not sure that the Lord

should be doing that. Walk away and.

Go God, Your kindness and your mercy is so.

So, so rich. It's so beautiful and it's so

kind. Keep responding to the to the

Holy Spirit. If you hear his.

Voice, If you feel his conviction today, that is God's

love. That is God's mercy being shown

to you. Satan deceives people with

pride. That's why it's become such a

popular thing to reject correction.

Oh, in the name of tolerance, you need to be tolerant of me,

friend. I love you and I call you

friend, but it's my love for you that that holds this up as the

standard. Forget my standard.

I don't. I didn't make him up.

I didn't write the book, but I'm talking about the King.

I want to teach you to obey everything that that he's

commanded because he's worthy and because he's good, you

believe something wrong about him.

If you don't want to love and follow Jesus, there's something

you're missing. There's something off, There's

something and we just got to find it.

I don't know what it is. You think that, that, that he's

not worth it. I don't know how in the world

you could think he's not worthy. I don't know how in the world

you don't feel. Have you, have you resisted the

Holy Spirit like you're resisting me?

You resist me, it's fine, but don't resist the Holy Spirit.

When we leave here in this conversation, and I know you're

mad at me now, but please pay attention to the Holy Spirit

because I'm going to be praying that he's going to speak to you

and he's going to bless you and lift you up.

I don't need to be lifted up. I'm not in a pit.

That's the path. That's the path.

That's the wrong direction. Why?

It's pride. I don't need to be saved.

Saved from what? Now?

That's the problem with many in the West.

Jesus died for your sins. What sins?

I mean, yeah, I guess. You know, I'm not perfect.

Nobody's perfect. No, no, no.

You don't get it. You deserve the wrath of God.

Let's be plain. Tell the whole truth of the

Scriptures. The both.

And the grace of God is only valuable because you understood

what you deserved. Jesus loves you so much.

Yeah, of course he does. I'm awesome.

Why wouldn't he? Thanks.

That's why that gospel hasn't penetrated anybody's heart,

because it's not actually the whole gospel.

The whole gospel tells both hand.

The gospel doesn't just say you're going to hell.

And the gospel says, hey, everybody's going to hell.

Good news, good news. Bear with me.

Jesus came and paid a price so that we could all be rescued and

redeemed. If you'll bend the knee, if

you'll kiss the son, if you'll love and follow him, he'll save

you from everything. That's the whole story.

I mean, it's pretty condensed, but that's the whole story.

You take one without the other. You don't have the gospel

anymore. You have condemnation.

You're going to hell. It's not the whole story.

We don't preach that, but we also don't go Jesus loves you.

The end. Hang on, that's also not the

whole thing. The whole truth is beautiful.

The whole truth is powerful. The whole truth is the gospel.

When you minister to people, when you tell people the story

of the Kingdom, keep it simple. Keep it as good and true and

pure as it is. Hey, we've all sinned and

falling short of the glory of God.

But God, who is rich in mercy, while we were still sinners,

sent Christ to die for us. Jesus is the worthy King.

And friend, if you sense anything going on in you right

now. That's the Holy Spirit, that is

the God loving you right this second want to save you.

And that applies to every single one of you.

Heavenly Father, thank you so much for sending the Holy

Spirit. Holy Spirit, we honor you in

this moment. Oh Lord, forgive us for all the

times we've ignored you. Forgive us for all the times we

didn't pull that weed up right away when it was in our.

Heart and confess our sin or make us a humble people, Make us

childlike in our faith. Felt like I was tender as a

child running to my father. Daddy, have I done this thing?

Am I in trouble? Is God keep us tender and soft

and pliable in your hands? Certain only of what You say,

help us to doubt our doubts, but to trust Your Word.

God, I pray your Saints would be comforted today.

I pray that they would sense the depth of Your grace and your.

Your love that you have for the whole world and for them.

God, I pray that we'd be that we would be emboldened by love to

go tell the truth and the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

So help us God, empower us, Holy Spirit to do the.

Work. Of the ministry.

The harvest is ready. Jesus said it, so I believe it.

I'm not going to ask the harvest.

I'm going to ask the King. And the king says the harvest is

ready. And it's that we just need more

laborers. God, don't let us be silent.

evil Jesus and glorify your name.
