  1. Well, we're taking a break from our Matthews series.

  2. So I think today was going to be like part 84 or something, but

  3. we're taking a break from that because obviously the tragedy of

  4. what took place this week, our our news cycle has been filled

  5. with evil acts of wicked men. School shootings, unfortunately,

  6. are a common thing in our nation.

  7. So we've seen that, you know, we saw the Charlotte subway

  8. incident. We saw that wickedness, and we

  9. also graphically watched our brother in Christ die in front

  10. of his wife and kids this week. Charlie Kirk was a bold

  11. Christian leader, a devoted husband and father, and one of

  12. the most influential voices of his generation.

  13. He was fearlessly calling America back to faith in Jesus,

  14. not in generic faith, but faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

  15. Freedom and truth. Through his work with the

  16. organization that he founded, Turning Point USA, he tirelessly

  17. brought that message onto college campuses across the

  18. nation. And he equipped young men and

  19. women to stand for truth and to build virtuous lives.

  20. This is not a sermon about Charlie Kirk, but this sermon is

  21. certainly influenced by Charlie Kirk's murder this week.

  22. The more I've learned about them the past few days, the more I've

  23. admired. And I had seen things about him

  24. and like, oh, that seems like a faithful brother, you know, keep

  25. up the great work. I just seen a big here and a bit

  26. there, a big here and a bit there.

  27. The the amount of content I've seen from him this week has just

  28. greatly inspired me. All the morning I thought, wow,

  29. that man outranks me in a million different ways and he's

  30. 31 years old. What a blessing, what a gift,

  31. what a strength, what a force, what a husband, what a father,

  32. what a Christian, what a blessing, what a massive loss

  33. for us. He was 31 years old and he was a

  34. mighty man of God who held views that the overwhelming majority

  35. of Americans held until the 2000s.

  36. So you often hear him and me and you, all of us were we are now,

  37. we're not the right wing extremists.

  38. If you didn't know you're a right wing extremist or you're a

  39. 1980 Democrat, either one, they're the same thing.

  40. Or you're a 1994 Republican, but you're also being labeled as a

  41. right wing extremist. But that's the nature of truth.

  42. Truth stays the same. What was once mainstream

  43. conviction is now called extremism.

  44. The truth hasn't changed. The culture has.

  45. And Charlie Kirk told people that some loved him for it.

  46. We did. Those of you who knew him and

  47. followed him and some hated him for it.

  48. But there's two things I learned this week that are important for

  49. you as we take what happened and then make application for it for

  50. us, and we look to God's Word. One of the things that really

  51. stood out to me was the body of Christ should learn from Jesus.

  52. What Charlie Kirk learned from Jesus specifically is how to be

  53. the right thing at the right time.

  54. Yeah, Jesus had range. Jesus had more than one year.

  55. He could sing more than one note.

  56. Jesus could comfort the repentance and the fearful, and

  57. he could absolutely humiliate the prideful and the hateful.

  58. Jesus had more than one gear. He had range.

  59. He could shift gears. I noticed that with Charlie as I

  60. watched different footage. I mean, really, really, really.

  61. Folks who would be very easy to judge visually would walk up to

  62. the microphone because his format, you know, he's sitting

  63. there in his tent, Someone walks up to the microphone, he begins

  64. speaking with him. Of course, now we see it's it's

  65. thousands and thousands years ago, it was 10s of 10s.

  66. But he would just die when they they woke up and you're like,

  67. OK, here comes the Satan. That's what are they going to

  68. say? And they go, hey, Charlie.

  69. So I've really just been trying to, you know, wonder about this.

  70. I'm thinking about that blah, blah, blah.

  71. And he's just like, oh, yeah, good question.

  72. And engages with them. And it's just that conversation

  73. between two decent folks who can engage with one another.

  74. And then you have antagonists who would come up and he could

  75. play along, but he could also shift gears.

  76. He could show a wolf. And you're not the only one with

  77. teeth. I have teeth too.

  78. And that's the thing that many Christians have failed at doing

  79. for years. Conservatism has never conserved

  80. anything. Conservatives just continue to

  81. back up as the enemy says, hey, you know, remember like 27 years

  82. ago when they started calling us just racists and bigots?

  83. And we're like, Oh my goodness, I don't want to be a racist.

  84. Oh my goodness, that would be a bigot.

  85. And then after a while we realized like, Oh my goodness,

  86. they're just lying about everything.

  87. OK. But we, we continue to back up

  88. and back up and back up. And then we're like, how did we

  89. get up against this Cliff? I guess Jesus just wants me to

  90. fall over in Jesus name. No, Saints, it's just called

  91. taking a step forward. That's it.

  92. We are at work. But the weapons of urine

  93. warfare, they're not carnal, but they are mining for the pulling

  94. down of strongholds. So you and I are people with

  95. prayer. You and I are people still of

  96. truth. And the truth is what we should

  97. always stand on and we should not be afraid to be able to

  98. shift gears in conversation when someone reveals to us that they

  99. are no longer in good faith. But we are dealing with what

  100. Jesus calls dogs and pigs. Jesus tells us he says judge

  101. not, which is every non Christian's favorite Bible

  102. verse. And then he literally goes in

  103. the whole context there to teach you how to judge.

  104. He teaches us what does that look like?

  105. And he says, don't give your pearls to pigs.

  106. So we're supposed to determine who things are.

  107. We're supposed to make a judgment about this person being

  108. a pig. We're supposed to determine who

  109. dogs are. Yeah, not with hatred, not with

  110. mouse, but you go, they reveal themselves.

  111. So this is something we see all through Jesus ministry, as I've

  112. been preaching through Matthew, I've showed it to you over and

  113. over and overlook at Jesus. He shifts gears.

  114. He goes, oh, I can be gracious with you.

  115. I can be gracious with you. The pride upon the hateful.

  116. He goes, boys, you came to humiliate me, but I'm going to

  117. fold it with a reverse card on me.

  118. And then he would shame and condemn them along the way was

  119. not balanced, but he's going, oh, I, I can give it to I can

  120. give it to you can give it, I can give it.

  121. Christians are not doormats. Christians are people who think

  122. Christians are people who tell the truth.

  123. Christians are people who can also humiliate demonic arguments

  124. and foolish attacks. The other thing that really

  125. stood out this week is kind of A2 fold point.

  126. First, people really, really, really hated Charlie Kirk.

  127. I didn't realize that to that degree.

  128. It would be one thing if there was just one hateful murderer

  129. who pulled the trigger and then the whole world said, Oh my

  130. goodness, that's just wicked and terrible.

  131. Or if those celebrating were just anonymous social media

  132. accounts, you know, just post for like, those could be bots,

  133. you know, this could be AI generated things.

  134. This might not be real people, but there have been so many

  135. celebratory responses of real people on video.

  136. These folks were so excited. They pulled up their phone and

  137. they thought I should record this and I should send it out to

  138. the world. That's a real boldness, that's a

  139. real enthusiasm. That's a real joy.

  140. They're so excited about their religion that they will preach

  141. their gospel and that they will continue to enforce the rules of

  142. their Kingdom. We can learn from them there as

  143. well that we should be bold to preach and teach and enforce.

  144. But this, the celebratory responses, these are not from

  145. like just a bunch of California kids in college.

  146. These are teachers. These are politicians.

  147. These are news groups. These are computer programmers.

  148. These are college students. These were firefighters.

  149. These were airline pilots. This was my favorite football

  150. team, the Carolina Panthers, one of their like employees.

  151. He had posted something as well. And all these people are like, I

  152. am proud and I'm excited to say that I'm happy that this man was

  153. murdered. What a wild, wild shock this was

  154. for me. These people didn't just decide

  155. to keep it in their hearts. Like I'm super happy, but I know

  156. better than I know. I know enough to keep it to

  157. myself, right? Like that would be that would be

  158. private and that's between them and the Lord.

  159. But they went so far as to record and share their responses

  160. with the world. Romans, one says they were

  161. filled with all, all manner of unrighteousness, evil,

  162. covetousness and malice. They're full of envy, murder,

  163. strive, deceit and maliciousness.

  164. Their gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent,

  165. haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,

  166. foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless.

  167. Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice

  168. such things deserve to die, they not only do them, but give

  169. approval to those who practice them.

  170. So they're like, I firstly probably would have never gotten

  171. a place where I could have pulled the trigger, but I'm so

  172. thankful someone did. These are the lost people of

  173. Romans. One, These are all people

  174. outside of Christ. What's shocking about that then,

  175. Pastor? Well, that's my point.

  176. I've been very naive and I don't think of myself as a naive

  177. person. I'm a shepherd.

  178. I'm a shepherd of the flock of God, and I'm not as naive as the

  179. flock of God is. As your pastor, I, it is part of

  180. my job to prepare you, to equip you and to help you understand

  181. the realities of God's word around you.

  182. But I have foolishly been naive to, to the very reality around

  183. us for years. I, I thought I had learned this

  184. lesson where I ignore certain red flags So, so many years ago

  185. when I was pastoring, if there would be someone in the church

  186. who he could talk to talk, you know, maybe he knew scripture or

  187. she knew scripture and they could, they could just talk and

  188. sound spiritual. I would take that as the

  189. evidence. I would, I would accept that as

  190. fruit for their life foolishly. And I would look at their family

  191. and I would look at all these other things that I see.

  192. And I'm like, that's weird. And I would dismiss the fruit

  193. that I would say, I go, well, that's strange.

  194. That's true. Because clearly this guy is so

  195. legit, because he knows his Bible and because he knows how

  196. to have spiritual conversations with me.

  197. This is the brute I look at. And I foolishly dismissed other

  198. things. And then time goes on.

  199. You go, oh, wait, I had it backwards.

  200. This is the brute. That's the reality.

  201. This was the false presentation. Well, basically, I've done this

  202. thing again with the world around us.

  203. I didn't realize the degree of hatred, which I even feel stupid

  204. saying because it was always in front of us the whole time.

  205. But I thought I still had this. There's like the Anne Frank

  206. quote, she said. Surely in spite of everything, I

  207. still think people are good at heart.

  208. I still had some naivete in me about that perspective and

  209. thinking like, you know, I think most folks are all right.

  210. Really. Pastor, outside of the blood of

  211. Jesus. Well, you know, no, I know, I

  212. know that any human is capable of what any other human has ever

  213. done outside of Jesus. You and I are capable of the

  214. worst thing that any other human has ever done except for the

  215. grace of God. And I wasn't living like that

  216. was true. I wasn't preaching like that was

  217. true. I wasn't interacting like that

  218. was true. But I have seen more and more

  219. I'm going, man, these people are bold.

  220. These people are excited about what they're excited about.

  221. They're they're very passionate and they're very bold about what

  222. they're doing, about their sin, about their wickedness.

  223. But here is the other thing. And maybe you shifted this gear

  224. this week as well. You're like, first of all, man,

  225. that's really cruel to how they would celebrate Charlie and his

  226. family in this way. But then you thought the next

  227. logical thought, Wait a second, I am Charlie.

  228. Not exactly by the way, let me let me help you with another

  229. manipulation that that the snake uses against you to say that you

  230. lied someone, the enemy will try and make it seem like you must

  231. agree with every single word they have ever said, every

  232. single action they have ever taken and every thought they

  233. have ever thought. So to unite yourself with anyone

  234. is to go that needs you. Stay with.

  235. Hey, my my flock. That is a manipulation tactic of

  236. your enemy. Do not play along anymore.

  237. This is how we kept backing up to the Cliff over and over for

  238. decades. And as the pulpit stayed silent

  239. on these things and the enemy cleverly said, Christian

  240. shouldn't talk about politics. And Christian said, oh, we

  241. shouldn't. OK, do you stick to your Bible?

  242. OK, we'll stick to our Bible. Well, those who read the Bible

  243. realize Christians should talk about politics.

  244. Politics belong to Jesus. Everything belongs to Jesus.

  245. So now we command the whole world to repent after our own

  246. repentance. God forgive us for our

  247. foolishness in the church, for our laziness in the American

  248. church, for our ignorance of your word.

  249. But we realized that if these people thought this way about

  250. this kind of person, I'm that kind of person.

  251. I have those perspectives. I believe what he believes.

  252. I mean, I don't know everything he believes, but but I believe.

  253. I believe what he believes. Think we would have been best

  254. friends. So if you rejoice that way over

  255. his death, I know exactly how you feel about mine.

  256. I know exactly how they would feel about yours.

  257. That's not a that's not an unfair twist of things, is it?

  258. That's a straight line logical step.

  259. I hate him because he believed this.

  260. Well, I believe all that. By the way, you should tell your

  261. friends and family members that you believe those things too,

  262. especially the ones, by the way, has anyone had had that happen

  263. in your personal life, not just online, but you've seen your own

  264. friends and family members say, well, I think he had it thumb

  265. enough. Don't throw it in their face,

  266. but just say, hey, just so you know, like I share those beliefs

  267. and convictions. Generally speaking, I absolutely

  268. show those beliefs and convictions and let them sell it

  269. for themselves. You don't have to pay them into

  270. a corner, but let them know. Let them know where you stand.

  271. Well, I don't want to create. You don't want to what?

  272. Create strife. You're not the person of strife.

  273. You're the person of truth and grace.

  274. And we call people to be people of truth and grace, but that can

  275. only happen as they come to, as they come to Christ.

  276. So the other thing we realize is if this many people are willing

  277. to talk about this publicly, then celebrate their joy over

  278. it, how many aren't? How many still feel it?

  279. But just like I know better than say it.

  280. So we're just gaining some perspective here.

  281. I, I took the red pill in a whole new way this week.

  282. So for those of you seen the movie The Matrix, then it's a,

  283. you don't have to see the movie, but the guys presented with the

  284. red pill or the blue pill. The red pill represents the

  285. truth. You can take the truth and

  286. you're going to know everything about reality, but it's going to

  287. hurt. There's a lot of pain and

  288. suffering involved in, but it's the truth.

  289. It's how things actually are. Or you can take the blue pill

  290. and you'll go back to being ignorant.

  291. You won't know anything. So I've been red pilled in

  292. multiple areas of my life over the years I've been red pilled,

  293. for example, when it comes to understanding masculine and

  294. feminine and how how masculine feminine should actually work in

  295. a relationship compared to what demonic feminism has taught us

  296. about how masculine feminine should work in relationship.

  297. That was a red pill moment ago. That is reality.

  298. This is how it works. It's good, true and beautiful

  299. actually, if you handle that thankfully.

  300. But I was red pilled in a new way because again, I'm just

  301. realizing the hatred of these people isn't just hyperbole like

  302. I thought it was. I thought all their rhetoric was

  303. just rhetoric. I thought they were just like

  304. trying to make an extreme point. They're like, they're racist and

  305. they're begging someone. OK, they know we're not, but

  306. they're just trying to they're fired up.

  307. Fair enough. And we dismiss all the stuff

  308. that they would say. They would say they're Nazis and

  309. they're this and that's we're like, OK, they don't actually

  310. mean that. They're just bad.

  311. Fair enough. I like, we just gave such

  312. allowances and we kept making such a like, they don't mean

  313. what they're saying. Turns out they literally did it.

  314. Like I thought, I thought they were just saying stuff.

  315. So I was being really gracious with it all and like, oh wow,

  316. they, they actually believe that.

  317. OK, Wow, how stupid I was. They were constantly telling me

  318. who they were and I refused to believe them.

  319. I saw that I'd been very naive about my country.

  320. So like we said, how they feel about someone's murdered who you

  321. share the same beliefs with is how they would feel about yours

  322. as well. Pastor, what are you doing here?

  323. I am opening this the sheep's eyes so you have reality and

  324. understanding as we continue to look to the hope.

  325. First, John 3 says we should not be like Cain who was one of the

  326. evil who was who was up the evil 1 and murdered his brother And

  327. why did he murder him? Because his own deeds were evil

  328. and his brothers were righteous. That is why Cain murdered evil.

  329. I believe that's why Charlie Kirk was murdered, for his faith

  330. in the Lord Jesus Christ and for his conviction to say, oh, this

  331. is true. No, this is true.

  332. This is what reality looks like. No, this is what a man is.

  333. This is what a woman is. They can't become the other.

  334. Oh no, this is, this is what's true.

  335. Jesus is king. No other religion can be true

  336. because Christ insists that it's not.

  337. This is how reality works. This is what should happen as an

  338. outflow of the Scriptures. So whenever you're the voice of

  339. conviction for someone else, when they're resisting God, they

  340. hate you for it. I want you to shut up because I

  341. want you to stop bringing the conviction that I feel for it.

  342. If you're right, that brings a terrible weight and burden upon

  343. me. And the good news for them is

  344. that the good news was in the message as well.

  345. There is a heavyweight. There is a terrible weight and

  346. burden upon you just like there is on all of us.

  347. And Jesus comes and says, I'll lift it off of you.

  348. The truth is he didn't put it on you.

  349. Sin and shame put it on you. The law of God reveals to you

  350. that it's on you. That's what the law of God does.

  351. The law of God says you're actually being crushed by

  352. £1,000,000. You go, I hate the law of God.

  353. No, no, no, no, no, no. Don't hate the law of God.

  354. Well, I never saw this white crushing me before until you

  355. brought the law of God. Don't hate the law of God,

  356. friend. Hate the sin that's crushing

  357. you. The law of God has just

  358. clarified it for you. It's like hating your doctor.

  359. I've had all this going on in my life.

  360. Your doctor says I can tell you what's going on.

  361. This is your problem. I hate you, Doctor.

  362. No, no, no, no, no, no. Let's attack the problem

  363. together. By the way, I have the cure and

  364. I'm happy to give it to you and it's free.

  365. And his name is Jesus. I hate you, Doctor, and I hate

  366. your cure because I love my sin. Why did he murder him?

  367. Because his own deeds were evil and his brothers were righteous.

  368. Do not be surprised, brothers, that the world hates you.

  369. We know we have passed out of death into life because we love

  370. the brothers. Whoever got whoever does not

  371. love abides in death. Everyone who hates his brother

  372. is a murderer, and you know that.

  373. No murderer has eternal life abiding and helping.

  374. New Testament Bible stuff here. If you hate, you are a murderer,

  375. and no murderer has eternal life provided me.

  376. So how do we respond to hatred and martyrdom?

  377. We look to our shepherd, Jesus. Now I'll take you to Matthew.

  378. There had to be a Matthew in the sermon, right?

  379. Matthew chapter 10 here there with me.

    Matthew 10 chapter mention

  380. Starting verse 16, we're going to read all the way through 39,

  381. but I'm going to teach as I go. Behold, this is Jesus talking.

  382. Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the vids.

  383. Wow, that's encouraging Lord. But he's honest.

  384. He's honest right from the get go.

  385. He never did a bait and switch with us.

  386. He said. I'm telling you reality.

  387. Jesus gave the red pill the whole time.

  388. No false comfort, real comfort, powerful comfort.

  389. Be as wise as serpents and as innocent as doves.

  390. The body of Christ has often been as innocent as a dove and

  391. as foolish as a sheep. He said, I want you to be.

  392. You are like sheep in some ways, he said.

  393. But listen to me, sheep. You need to be wise like a dove.

  394. All these animal references. Sheep are historically stupid

  395. animals. Very dumb.

  396. They do things to get themselves in trouble.

  397. They do things to get themselves sick.

  398. They do things to get themselves lost.

  399. They do things to get themselves killed.

  400. Fair enough. Jesus.

  401. Bit of a Jag it took out us there.

  402. But it's well deserved. But then he says, so be as wise

  403. as a serpent. Snakes are wise.

  404. Snakes are crafted. Snakes are hard to hit.

  405. They're serpenting. But many Christians stand up and

  406. go, I'm right here, I'm right here, shoot me instead of having

  407. wisdom even in conversation. To be Serpentine, to not play

  408. into your enemy's traps, and to not walk ignorantly like a sheep

  409. into traps that are deliberately set for you.

  410. Jesus went like a lamb before the slaughter at the cross, but

  411. in conversations and in theological interactions, He did

  412. not walk and March right into every trap set for him.

  413. He walked into zero traps set for Him, innocent as doves. 17

  414. Beware of men, for they will deliver you over to courts and

  415. flog you with their synagogues, and you will be dragged before

  416. governors and kings. For my sake, oh Jesus, I'll do

  417. anything for you to bear witness before them and the Gentiles

  418. when they deliver you over. Do not be anxious of how you are

  419. to speak or what you're going to say, for what you are to say

  420. will be given to you in that hour.

  421. For it is not you who speak, but the spirit of your Father

  422. speaking through you. Brother will deliver brother

  423. over to death and the father, his child and children will rise

  424. against parents and have them put to death.

  425. Do what? Jesus, brother against brother,

  426. father against child, children against parents and have been

  427. put to death. Believe your Bible.

  428. Believe your Bible. It has happened.

  429. Just because it's not happening in this moment doesn't mean it

  430. won't again. But it has happened, and you

  431. will be hated by all. Why?

  432. For my name's sake. But the one who endures to the

  433. end will be saved. When they persecute you in one

  434. town, flee to the next. For truly I say, you will not

  435. have gone through all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man

  436. comes. A disciple was not above his

  437. teacher, nor a servant above his master.

  438. It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher and a

  439. servant like his master. If they call the master of the

  440. house feels able. So he said, if they call me the

  441. master, if they call me Satan, how much more will they malign

  442. those of his household? How much more will they talk

  443. poorly of you? Christians get used to it.

  444. Well, we are used to it. Frankly, I think it's but

  445. understand it. Understand it, recognize it and

  446. don't try to defend it. You're not dealing with a

  447. reasonable person if you're dealing with someone who hates

  448. you, someone who wishes for your death.

  449. Your feelings hurt. Love them, pray for them.

  450. Bless those who persecute you. They hate you.

  451. They hated him first. He told us they would.

  452. So have No Fear of them. For nothing is covered that will

  453. not be revealed. Nothing is hidden that will not

  454. be known. When I tell you in the dark, say

  455. in the light what you hear whispered proclaim on the

  456. housetops, or on a college campus with a microphone, or on

  457. YouTube, or on your social media account or at the water cooler,

  458. wherever you can, whatever the consequence, and it will be

  459. worth it. Do not fear those who kill the

  460. body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear Him who can destroy

  461. both soul and body in hell. Are not 2 sparrows sold for a

  462. penny and not one of them will fall to the ground without your

  463. Father. But even the hairs on your head

  464. are all numbered. Fear not.

  465. Therefore you are of more value than men, sparrows.

  466. So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I will also

  467. acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven.

  468. Hallelujah, what a promise. Acknowledge the Lord Jesus

  469. Christ as your Master, as your King, as your God, as the one

  470. who saved you. And he said, I will acknowledge

  471. you before my Father in heaven. You want that, my friends, You

  472. want the Lord Jesus Christ to turn to the Father and say they

  473. are ours. They have come through my name

  474. and through my blood. Verse 33 But whoever denies me

  475. before men, I will also deny before my father, who is in

  476. heaven. What a tragedy and what in

  477. terror. Do not think I have come to

  478. bring peace to the earth. I've not come to bring peace,

  479. but a sword. For I have come to set a man

  480. against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and

  481. a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

  482. And a person's enemies will be those of his own household.

  483. I didn't write that in there. That's been there the whole

  484. time. Whoever loves father or mother

  485. more than me is not worthy of me.

  486. Whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of

  487. me. Whoever does not take his cross

  488. and follow me is not worthy of me.

  489. Whoever finds his life will lose it.

  490. Whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

  491. They hate Jesus, that's why they hate his servants.

  492. Jesus really loves you and you are secure in Him.

  493. When the people of the we're the people of the cross and we still

  494. have good news. We are not a people of despair.

  495. A people who will live forever have No Fear of death.

  496. A people who will live forever cannot be intimidated.

  497. I'll cheer with you. I'll shoot you.

  498. Oh, Oh no, Oh no. I'll be with my great God and

  499. say, is it a tragedy? It still is because it's a

  500. wickedness and the innocent blood cries out.

  501. Charlie Kurtz. Innocent blood cries out for

  502. justice. Thankfully, they have arrested

  503. his killers and we pray that his killer would repent and grow to

  504. the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  505. That is exactly what should happen.

  506. And then the state should execute justice because that's

  507. the office of the state and that is the responsibility given to

  508. the state. And then when the state executes

  509. justice. Tyler Robinson would enter into

  510. the eternal glory of the Lord Jesus Christ to be greeted by

  511. Charlie Kirk and say welcome into the Kingdom.

  512. I didn't earn anything to get here.

  513. You didn't earn anything to get here.

  514. Praise Jesus, kill your people. You are to love your enemies and

  515. to want to see them blessed, and at the same time to understand

  516. God's Word is right and just and perfect and final and all areas

  517. of authority in the household and the government and in the

  518. church. Go to Romans chapter 12 to your

    Romans 12 chapter mention

  519. right in the New Testament, Mark, Luke, John X Romans,

  520. Romans 12, verse 14. Bless those who persecute you.

    Romans 12:14

  521. Bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice.

  522. Weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one

  523. another. Do not be haughty, but associate

  524. with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight.

  525. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is

  526. honorable. Decide of all, if possible, so

  527. far as it depends on you. Live peaceably with all,

  528. beloved. Never avenge yourselves, but

  529. leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, Vengeance is

  530. mine. I we'll repay, says the Lord.

  531. That's why we pray for our enemies, God.

  532. Save them from your vengeance. Save them from your vengeance

  533. and also Lord. And if they won't repent, bring

  534. your full wrath, God, Bring your wrath and crush your enemies,

  535. Lord. But we don't take that into our

  536. hands. To the contrary, if your enemy

  537. is hungry, feed him, and if he's thirsty, give him something to

  538. drink. For by doing so you will keep

  539. burning coals upon his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but

  540. overcome evil. We're good, so we love our

  541. enemies. We do not pretend that we don't

  542. have enemies, though. We do not trust our enemies.

  543. That is not the command. We do not submit to our enemies.

  544. That is not the command. We do not help our enemies

  545. succeed. That is not the command.

  546. We seek peace by calling our enemies to repentance.

  547. That is the only way there can be repentance.

  548. That's the only way there can be unity.

  549. That's the only way there can be reconciliation.

  550. So our enemies, they're saying, hey, let's all tone it down.

  551. Ain't no, let's all ain't no let's all tone it down.

  552. We won't meet you at the cross. That's the only place I'll meet

  553. you. That's the only fairground I'll

  554. meet you. But I'm not going to pretend

  555. that there's truth or appeasement.

  556. If you want unity, we can have him come to the cross of Jesus.

  557. That's where I'm staying planted.

  558. I belong to Jesus. You can come to Jesus.

  559. That's great. But light can have no fellowship

  560. with darkness. So come to the light.

  561. It's not my team, it's just Jesus.

  562. And I've joined this team and you were invited.

  563. You're a welcome. You're called in.

  564. And then they can review the doctor for pointing out the

  565. sickness in the illness and the disease.

  566. But many will repent. Yes, many will respond.

  567. We see that in Charlie Kirk's ministry.

  568. You see that there for all the hate.

  569. I hope you've also seen some of the beautiful testimonies.

  570. I've seen photographs of people said I was a trans this.

  571. And now here's me married to my husband, a man born a man, me

  572. born a woman. And here's our babies and we

  573. love and follow the Lord Jesus Christ because Charlie spoke to

  574. me with such kindness. Yes, the hateful right extremist

  575. bigot. Yeah, that guy, he spoke to me

  576. with such kindness. I've seen black people share

  577. videos of how Charlie encouraged them and blessed them and

  578. encouraged them in their work. Charlie, the extreme right wing

  579. racist, all these things they're going to continue to accuse, but

  580. many people will respond to you with graciousness because Jesus

  581. said the harvest is ready. It's the laborers that are few.

  582. Continue to stand for truth, but recognize that you need wisdom.

  583. You don't want to help your enemy succeed.

  584. This is the only way we connect unity under the name and the

  585. blood of Jesus. That is the place where there

  586. can be reconciliation. Anything else would be betrayal

  587. of Christ. We must stop backing up and take

  588. a step forward. How do we take that step

  589. forward? Tell the truth.

  590. Tell the truth and be winsome. Charlie was winsome in the right

  591. way. Scripture commands us to be

  592. winsome in our speech. But then of course, our enemies

  593. turn that and say you must all look and act and behave like Mr.

  594. Rogers at all times. And that is not who Jesus was.

  595. That is not who Charlie Kirk was.

  596. But of course, our enemies who don't love the word of God will

  597. use the word of God against sweet and innocent Christians

  598. who don't know better because they're still in a chore.

  599. And the enemies will say, your Bible says this.

  600. And angry Christians will go, Oh my goodness, I want to obey my

  601. Bible. All while being manipulated by

  602. the snakes. He tried to use the Scripture

  603. against Jesus too. He probably knows the Scripture

  604. better than you and I, but he's a twister, a manipulator, and a

  605. liar. Ephesians 426 commands us be

  606. angry and do not sin. I feel so angry, Pastor.

  607. That means you have a sense of justice.

  608. Like God who is just. You should be angry.

  609. And now point your anger to righteous action.

  610. Point your anger to holy boldness.

  611. Do not let it rot into unforgiveness.

  612. You don't need to repent of your anger.

  613. You need to repent of doing nothing with your anger.

  614. That would be a problem or doing the wrong thing with your anger.

  615. Surrender to God. And this really can be a turning

  616. point for us and a turning point for our nation.

  617. Prophetically, that's what Charlie's ministry was called.

  618. That's what that organization was called, Turning point.

  619. And by God's grace, this will actually be a turning point for

  620. our nation. Whereas naive Christians like

  621. myself go and I thought I understood things clearly and I

  622. got a whole another level of revelation and understanding on

  623. where we really are and what's really taking place now.

  624. And I want to be even more bold. I want to be even more outspoken

  625. that don't hear bold with offensive, although being bold

  626. will create massive offense because we know that you're at

  627. war with another religion. Even though they that many of

  628. your enemies would say they don't have any religion at all,

  629. they do in every country, every religion.

  630. They're always speech laws and they're always laws to protect

  631. the gods of that country and the gods of that age and the gods of

  632. that day. Our nation is no different.

  633. So that's why they wanted to label truth telling as violence.

  634. They wanted to say that that's sin against our gods.

  635. That's sin against our idols. Idols themselves, the idols of,

  636. of mostly it's just the idol of self of, of what I want, what I

  637. believe is best, what I believe is true.

  638. So they want to silence your speech.

  639. That's why they call it violence.

  640. By the way, it was so important for the enemies of the cross to

  641. say that speech itself is violence.

  642. All the logic, If I can say that your speech is actual violence,

  643. I can now justify my actual violence against you.

  644. And I can say I'm, I'm in self-defense because you did

  645. violence to me with words. But it feels that way because

  646. the word God cuts to the heart. The truth cuts deep.

  647. So I understand. But you can no longer be

  648. gasoline and manipulated by your enemies.

  649. You can no longer be told that you're full of hate speech.

  650. You can no longer be told those sins by people who don't love

  651. and follow Jesus, who try and tell you who Jesus was and what

  652. he was like. That's foolishness to trust your

  653. enemies and to take them up on their offers.

  654. So surrender to God. And this really can't be a

  655. turning point for all of us. So what does surrender look

  656. like? What are we supposed to do now?

  657. We're supposed to walk in to God in all given spheres of our

  658. lives. And that's where we're going to

  659. go with the rest of our message. I'm going to hit the three

  660. different spheres. And what you should do, what

  661. action you should take, the three spheres of authority that

  662. Jesus has established in the earth.

  663. If we had a little diagram, that's three spheres you heard

  664. me talk about many times. That's the household.

  665. That's one sphere of authority. It has particular authorities

  666. that the others do not. The church, that's another

  667. sphere with another particular authority.

  668. It has authorities that the other two spheres do not.

  669. And the government, that is a Jesus given, God assigned to the

  670. earth, spirit authority. And it has particular roles and

  671. assignments that the others do not.

  672. And yet all three speak to one another.

  673. And we're supposed to work under submission of Jesus together for

  674. the flourishing of people and for the establishing of God's

  675. will on the earth, our first sphere of influence.

  676. What are we supposed to do, Pastor?

  677. What are we supposed to do now? I understand more clearly how

  678. much the world hates me. I understand more clearly the

  679. world that the the war that we're a part of.

  680. What do we do with it? Pastor in sphere #1 the

  681. household. The best thing and the right

  682. thing to do is obey God by shepherding your own household.

  683. Well, I cannot overstate this point.

  684. This is where we will gain the most ground.

  685. The other two are also incredibly powerful.

  686. But this is where I should say this way, not where we'll gain

  687. the most ground. This is where you have the most

  688. influence. First of all, personally, right

  689. away, it's yourself. I think this ought to.

  690. I think man, the church needs to this and they needed this.

  691. Well, first of all, you and your own household are the best place

  692. for you to glorify God. It's where you have maximum

  693. authority to make it. So this is your best advertising

  694. as well for the Kingdom. This is the best way to so that

  695. people can look at your life and go like, maybe I do disagree

  696. with everything they say, but I look at the fruits and I go,

  697. that's some good fruit though, and I would like to enjoy some

  698. of that. Your own life is your best

  699. advertising. You shouldn't take financial

  700. advice from a broke person. You shouldn't take fitness

  701. advice from an out of shape person.

  702. You should look the part if you're selling those things.

  703. And if we're selling the gospel, we should look the part.

  704. We should look like, look what the gospel does, look what it

  705. does in a household, look what it does in an individual, look

  706. what it does in my personal life.

  707. We should look the part with richness and with beautiful

  708. fruit. What does that look like?

  709. It looks like a deeply loving and joyful marriage.

  710. Deeply loving and joyful marriage.

  711. It will take work, it will take effort, It will take deliberate

  712. action, but it's a Kingdom manifestation.

  713. It will look like children who are well loved and disciplined,

  714. well loved and disciplined. It will look like joy in your

  715. home. It will look like enjoying the

  716. presence of God, not only the principles of God.

  717. So it's not a household that just says this is the rule, this

  718. is the rule, this is God's rule, this is God's rule.

  719. Well, that's, that's good. But we want to emphasize his

  720. presence. The presence of God will always

  721. lead you to the principles of God, but it's possible to have

  722. the principles of God without having the presence of God.

  723. We want both. And in your personal life, in

  724. your own household, this is what you should be prioritizing.

  725. This is what you should be focusing on.

  726. Double down your efforts to build up your marriage.

  727. Double down your efforts to build up your own personal

  728. devotional life in your own personal world with the Lord.

  729. Double down your efforts to grow and mature in all the ways that

  730. you know the Lord is speaking to you.

  731. Back to that point of surrender. Lord, I need to surrender and

  732. then I need to go to another level and then again I said he's

  733. overlap in the second sphere, the church, what should the

  734. church do? The church should obey God and

  735. by preaching the gospel with urgency.

  736. And when I say the church, I don't mean the Sunday gathering,

  737. I mean also you. So the first one was you, the

  738. second one's you just like the first one was me as a as a man,

  739. a husband and father. The second one is me.

  740. Yes, as a pastor, but that's that's not my primary.

  741. My primary is I'm a Christian. As a Christian, I need to be

  742. preaching the gospel with boldness and clarity and with

  743. love. This is the mission.

  744. To preach the gospel is loving, to preach the gospel is caring.

  745. To preach the gospel is kind. And yes, we understand it's

  746. offensive. You got to tell people you're so

  747. bad that Jesus had to die for it and you deserve eternity and

  748. help. But wait, I wasn't finished.

  749. There's good news, by the way, that's true about me too.

  750. And the grace of God has been extended to us.

  751. We've got to get that whole message on the whole part part A

  752. and Part B, not just Part B, not just God loves you and is a

  753. great plan for your life. Like, cool, thanks God.

  754. I guess I'll continue on with my day.

  755. Hang on a second. All have sinned and fallen short

  756. of the glory of God. You've got to confess your sins

  757. and come to them. Repent, for the Kingdom of

  758. heaven is at hand. Is the message that Jesus

  759. preached. I don't know what Mr. Rogers

  760. preached, but I do know what Jesus preached and repentance

  761. was always the primary part of his message.

  762. Go there for and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them

  763. in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit,

  764. teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.

  765. And behold, I'm with you always to the end of the age.

  766. We're to go into all nations. We're to make nations and ethnic

  767. groups and everybody. We're to teach them to obey

  768. Jesus. That's Jesus's command.

  769. We're not to go around and suggest to people, Hey, really

  770. think you ought to consider this.

  771. Hey, really think you ought to now and in your wisdom of your

  772. relationships, that might be a way you actually say, well, hey,

  773. hey friend, I really want to get some pushback.

  774. I really want to get some encouragement.

  775. I really hope you'll consider I I did that in the mall recently.

  776. I was in a store, got talking to the cashier.

  777. We just got chat back and forth. He was a Muslim and he had a lot

  778. to say and he really didn't come up for air.

  779. So he just kind of talked the whole time and I kept waiting

  780. and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting.

  781. Eventually I realized, have some wisdom, John Michael.

  782. He's not going to stop. He was friendly, I enjoyed him,

  783. he enjoyed me, but he wasn't going to stop.

  784. So I had to interject because I had to leave.

  785. And I said, hey, hey, can I drop a Pebble in your shoe?

  786. Because he was saying different things about different

  787. religions, all kinds of inaccuracies and false things.

  788. And he's like, Oh yeah, we all serve God.

  789. Not true. So I said, can I put a Pebble in

  790. your shoe? And he goes, sure.

  791. I said, I have to go. So this is that was a winsome

  792. and gracious approach, right? I didn't just say, hey,

  793. everything you said is wrong. You're an idiot, you're going to

  794. hell. Mohammed was a pervert, which

  795. all this those things might be true, but that's not necessarily

  796. the necessary approach, is it? Right.

  797. So I said, can I put a Pebble in your shoe before I go?

  798. And he goes, sure, sure. I said, so you said this and you

  799. said this, the invasive claims about Christ.

  800. I said, well, I would encourage you to go look up the exclusive

  801. claims that Jesus made. I said, because all of these

  802. religions, Islam, here's how you get to heaven, right?

  803. There's a particular way. He goes, yeah, I said Judaism,

  804. there's a particular way they can make it.

  805. Buddhism and you know, I said Christian, there's a particular

  806. way. I said some of those have some

  807. overlap. Christianity overlaps with none

  808. of them. I said Jesus made exclusive

  809. claims about who he was. I said, I said I have to go.

  810. I said, but you have to process that.

  811. I said, you got to chew on that. I had a little bit of rapport.

  812. He liked me. He could reside.

  813. Well, he won't. He, I don't know.

  814. I'm afraid and and I trust and hope that he will.

  815. So don't misunderstand. When we talk about boldness,

  816. we're not talking about deliberate rudeness.

  817. He, he had no way showed teeth. He was a very gracious

  818. conversation. So I didn't have to go, Oh, stop

  819. right there you steak. I didn't have to do any of that.

  820. I was just able to relate to him.

  821. Hey, nice story you got here and so on.

  822. But preaching the gospel is our assignment and we have to preach

  823. Christ crucified. We have to preach Christ risen,

  824. not tomorrow, but today. We have to preach now, not like

  825. you don't need to wait like I need to become a more mature

  826. Christian. Well, we all need to become more

  827. mature Christians. So I love the sentiment there,

  828. but don't think that you're supposed to wait.

  829. Don't think you were going to graduate into I'm ready for

  830. Avenger with some. No, no, no.

  831. That was the invitation. Day one.

  832. Come and follow me. Why, I'll make you fishers of

  833. men. That's why.

  834. That's the invitation from day one.

  835. So if you're in Christ, you are now qualified to make disciples.

  836. You're now qualified to say, hey, I don't know everything.

  837. I got tons of stuff like I can't, I don't have the

  838. intellect of Charlie Kirk. The more I've watched it, I'm

  839. like, dude was brilliant. We have a photographic memory.

  840. Anybody comes up with anything and they're like, so let's talk

  841. about the crime statistics. And he's like, no, actually in

  842. 2000, such and such, the statistics, the FBI, I'm like,

  843. bro, what? That's wild.

  844. And he can do it with anything. And then he can talk to Ukraine

  845. and then he can talk theology and then he can talk.

  846. No, the free court actually says on good grief, you're not

  847. Charlie Kirk. OK, there's not going to be

  848. another 1. And I also write, there will be

  849. 10 million of us, so don't pressure yourself.

  850. I got to sound like Pastor John Michael.

  851. I got to sound like someone somebody's going to be asking me

  852. a question I don't know the answer to.

  853. And then they'll think that that somehow disposes the whole

  854. Bible. Hey, my, my dear and precious,

  855. saying that is a tactic that the enemy is using against you to

  856. keep you silent. The power of God is the gospel.

  857. The gospel is the power of God. It is the power.

  858. It's not the intellectual argument.

  859. It's not every, it's not all the detail that Charlie was able to

  860. expose because as you saw on many debates, he was able to

  861. point it out. And then they go, I still hate

  862. you. How could you hate him?

  863. He just showed you everything point by point.

  864. How could you hate him? Because the gospel is the power

  865. of God unto salvation. Not FBI, not FBI crime

  866. statistics, not what Putin said, not what Ukraine did, not what

  867. Trump said, not what Trump did, not what Fox or CNN, not any of

  868. the data or the facts of what took place.

  869. It's not the power to change someone's life.

  870. It's not it. I just feel like if I could

  871. reason with people, you can't because it's spiritual.

  872. Stop believing that it's not spiritual.

  873. That is the ball. Then we're believing that it's

  874. not spiritual, and we're still thinking that the gospel is like

  875. some foolish thing and it is foolishness to those who are

  876. perishing. And God says, I wonder if my

  877. Saints will believe me and preach the message of a bloody

  878. cross and the postmodern era where everyone is super educated

  879. and everyone's so smart. Well, my Saints actually go and

  880. say Jesus died on the bloody cross for our sins.

  881. And he really does love you. And he really will rescue you

  882. and give you a new identity and a new life.

  883. And he'll heal like traumatic wounds in your soul and physical

  884. wounds in your body and restoration to your mind and

  885. bring peace to you. That's really all.

  886. My God, I don't know a lot more than that right now.

  887. I'm really doing the Lord, but I know He's done it for me and I

  888. know he'll do it for you. Can will you just submit and

  889. surrender to the Lord Jesus? Will you please let me pray with

  890. you? I've never done it like that.

  891. Well, maybe that's what we're getting, what we're getting

  892. because we've been doing what we've been doing.

  893. Preach the gospel with urgency. That's what we're supposed to do

  894. as the church. And then in our third sphere of

  895. influence, the government. What are we supposed to do?

  896. I'm not the government. Maybe some of you are in public

  897. office. If so, you're part of the

  898. government. Praise God for that, But what

  899. are we supposed to do with our government?

  900. We are supposed to press our government to obey God because

  901. the government was instituted by God and the government should be

  902. in submission to God. Amen.

  903. Amen. We're closing for these next

  904. couple minutes. I'm going to go to Romans again.

  905. Romans 13. Our government quoted it to us

  906. over these past few years, many in our godless government.

  907. Suddenly we're quoting Romans 13, which is quite ironic

  908. because I want to say, oh, do you believe that the Bible is

  909. the authoritative word of God? They don't know.

  910. But you're supposed to do so. Do that.

  911. Do what this verse says. How clever.

  912. If he's Satan. No, I think I'll interpret the

  913. Scripture with the Scripture, and I think I'll apply it

  914. appropriately. Romans 13, verse one.

  915. Let every person be subject to the governing authorities.

  916. That's all CNN gave us a few years ago.

  917. That's it. Obey the government.

  918. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist

  919. have been instituted by God. Therefore, whoever resists the

  920. authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist

  921. will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to

  922. good conduct. So the authorities established

  923. by God are not a terror to good conduct.

  924. To bad conduct. This is the establishment of the

  925. Lord's authority in government to be a terror to bad conduct,

  926. not to be a terror to good conduct.

  927. By the way, the establishment of the household is where husbands

  928. and fathers rule. Households like Jesus so that

  929. everybody wins, so that men wins, so that women win, so that

  930. children win and everybody flourishes.

  931. That's the authority established in the household, the authority

  932. established in the church, the church's responsibility.

  933. What power does the church have in the earth?

  934. Jesus said this. This realm of authority tells

  935. you what the truth is. This realm, the body of Christ,

  936. tells the household and the government which way is up and

  937. which way is down. The church says this is the way.

  938. That's north. We established that last week,

  939. right? That's N.

  940. We established this is north, this is South, this is east,

  941. this is West. So the government doesn't get to

  942. go. Well, we've actually changed the

  943. compass. You don't do that.

  944. You don't have the authority to do that.

  945. Your responsibility is to punish the evil doers and to reward the

  946. righteous. That's what Jesus gave to you.

  947. The church will tell you when you've outstep that

  948. jurisdiction. The church doesn't execute

  949. people, do they? The household doesn't execute

  950. people do that. Jesus didn't give them that

  951. authority. It's not their jurisdiction and

  952. it's not their place. The church can excommunicate

  953. people. As a pastor, I have that

  954. authority. When a believer continues to

  955. live in unrepentant sin, we go to them with compassion and

  956. grace. But eventually, if they continue

  957. to harden their hearts, we say you're an excommunicator because

  958. we love you, because we want you to feel this pain of separation

  959. so that you will repent. We refuse to pretend you are a

  960. part of us because that would be a damnation to your soul, and we

  961. hope that you will genuinely repent and be saved.

  962. And the household establishes care, establishes love.

  963. It's where marriage is established.

  964. It's where children are nurtured and disciple.

  965. Would you like to have No Fear of the one who is in authority?

  966. Then do what is good and you will receive His approval.

  967. This is God's design for government.

  968. This isn't how government always works.

  969. Isn't verse 4 For he is God's servant for your good.

  970. But if you do wrong, be afraid in the state.

  971. The authority to kill human beings when appropriate and the

  972. state determines appropriate. Would you like to be free?

  973. From fear of the state? Don't.

  974. Break the law. I hope I don't get pulled over

  975. today. Don't speak.

  976. You know, we all have that effect, right?

  977. Drive past the Congo. What do we feel?

  978. Fear. Why?

  979. Because we're breaking the law. He bears not the sword in vain,

  980. though. He is God's servant for your

  981. good. That's why he's going to pull

  982. you over. Hey, that's dangerous.

  983. We've just, we've decided. We've determined this is

  984. dangerous. This isn't good.

  985. That's what he's supposed to do. He doesn't always do it that

  986. way. That's what he's supposed to do.

  987. The household isn't always functioning perfectly, but God's

  988. designed for it's perfect. The church doesn't always

  989. function perfectly, but God's designed for it is perfect if

  990. you do wrong. Be afraid he has a.

  991. Sword. It's not for show, it's a cut

  992. someone's head off. So this should be your great

  993. area of interest when? It comes to your government.

  994. Government is supposed to carry out God's wrath on the

  995. wrongdoer. But your government, our

  996. government, largely fails at doing so.

  997. This is the problem. Where does this show up?

  998. We have open borders and lawless immigration.

  999. This exposes the innocent to danger.

1000. It is immoral. It is immoral.

1001. We protect criminals. Victims are ignored.

1002. The we could go unpunished. Our government allows legally

1003. for the murder of unborn children, human beings made in

1004. the image of God. Our government thought they

1005. could redefine marriage. That was your jurisdiction.

1006. What on earth are you talking about?

1007. Should have said the church. Who on earth do you think you

1008. we're the government? And Christians naively think the

1009. government is the sphere of over everybody.

1010. The government's over the church and the government's over the

1011. family. Well, when it comes to right

1012. doing and wrongdoing and prosecution, sure.

1013. But in another sense, the church is over everybody with the

1014. truth. And in another sense, the

1015. family's over everybody with authority to raise and disciple

1016. their own children. And yet there could be some

1017. overlap in these areas. State can't redefine marriage.

1018. You didn't define marriage. You don't need to redefine

  1019. marriage. That's God's creation.

  1020. That's the church's institution. We'll handle that.

1021. Get out of it. We'd like to award people for

1022. being married. That's the government.

1023. We recognize that we should reward the righteous, and we see

1024. how this is a social benefit. By all means, go for it.

1025. That makes sense. That's within your jurisdiction

1026. to do so. But you don't get to change and

1027. say what that looks like and who is married and who isn't.

1028. The church will let you know our government has incredibly

1029. ridiculous debts and reckless spending enslaving future

1030. generations because of their stupidity and wickedness and

1031. they have the failure to wield the sword in the state of

1032. Virginia. They have removed the death

1033. penalty entirely. The thing that Jesus has given

1034. to our state in particular. Our state said no Jesus, we know

1035. better than you. We won't be doing that ever

1036. again in the state is what they said.

1037. So murderers live and victims blood cries out for justice.

1038. What are we supposed to do beyond the obvious of voting in

1039. the way that is most righteous? You need to know that Christians

1040. should be political because everything belongs to Jesus.

1041. We're not silent or quiet. We're not only political, but we

1042. are definitely political. We're people who interact with

1043. all areas of life. We care about everything and we

1044. know that God's ways are best, so we want his Kingdom to come

1045. and his will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

1046. And if they call you a Christian nationalist for saying that,

1047. don't worry about it. It's an irrelevant label.

1048. You can just continue to go. All I know is I don't want

1049. people to be able to get on a subway and get their throat

1050. sliced open by someone who's been arrested 14 times and then

  1051. released a gun. That's what I know.

1052. Well, none of. Us want that?

1053. Well then. But the way we vote at the

1054. ballot box determines the policies of the people who will

1055. enact. We can miss our righteousness.

1056. So voting does matter. It does matter a lot.

1057. But what else? Don't just stop at voting.

1058. I'm not going to stop at voting. I've been largely ignorant to my

1059. government, it's processes, my legislative leaders and I no

1060. longer will be. I believe it has been in

1061. ignorance, but a simple ignorance on my part.

1062. And I will no longer just sit back and just wait for things to

1063. happen and only vote in elections.

1064. I've even been outspoken leading up to elections.

1065. I'll continue to do so, but I will no longer just sit back and

1066. do that. I will get engaged.

1067. How are you going to do it, pastor?

1068. I'm learning. I'm learning like literally now

1069. about what to do and how to do it, how to make progress.

1070. What would it look like? I don't.

1071. I'm not committing my life to being a political activist, but

1072. I do need to take my appropriate role as a citizen of Middlesex

1073. County, as a citizen of the state of Virginia, as a citizen

1074. of the United States. And I haven't done that to the

1075. strength and degree that I need to.

1076. And I feel responsible to do more stuff.

1077. So as I learn and grow, I'll continue to share news.

1078. If any of you say pass your father along that path of the

1079. help, I'll meet. Clue me in, fill me in, show me

1080. what that looks like. I'm eager to learn.

1081. But that's what repentance looks like.

1082. We've been confronted with the reality of death, of hate, and

1083. of evil. We've seen it on our screens.

1084. We felt it in our own hearts. Where is the hope?

1085. What do we do? Rule well your own household.

1086. Rule well yourself. Preach the gospel.

1087. It is the power of God unto salvation.

1088. And yes, be political. It all belongs to Jesus, and the

1089. outcomes that you want are going to bless everybody.

1090. Even people who hate Jesus are going to be blessed by the

1091. rulership of Jesus on the earth when the Saints rise up in power

1092. and in strength. So where is the hope?

1093. The only answer is in Jesus. Christ.

1094. And what does that mean? He's not an idea.

1095. He's not a philosophy. I'm going to say, oh, just hope

1096. in Jesus. No, there's a mechanism of

  1097. salvation. God's grace is.

1098. Given to you when. You put faith in Christ and this

1099. what brings the miracle, the new of the new birth.

1100. He is not a philosophy. He is the living king of the

1101. universe and he's still saving people and making them new.

1102. Romans has multiple passages that walk us through this.

1103. Romans 323 says for all have sinned and fall short of the

1104. glory of God. That includes me, that includes

1105. you. Romans 623 for the wages of sin,

1106. there's a payment. The wages of sin is death, but

1107. the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our word.

1108. That was bad news at first. We switched to good news.

1109. Thank you God. Romans 58 But God shows his love

1110. for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for

1111. us. Christ died for us.

1112. John 316 Jesus Himself for God so loved the world that he gave

1113. his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not

1114. perish, but have eternal life. So what do you do?

1115. What must I do? To be saved you.

1116. Repent. You turn from sin, you trust in

1117. Jesus Christ alone to save you, and you confess in this Lord.

1118. When you do that, He does the real work.

1119. You do the surrender. He does the breakthrough.

1120. He makes you a new creation. Old things passed away.

1121. All things become new. He brings new desires.

1122. He brings a new actual life, a recognizable life, a

1123. recognizable difference, with recognizable desires that shift

1124. and change. Romans 10/9 if you confess.

1125. With your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart

1126. that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

1127. I don't know if Charlie Kirk meant a lot to you or if he

1128. meant. Very little to you if you didn't

1129. know anything about it until this week, but this is the hope

1130. that he lived with and died with.

1131. Yes, that Jesus is Lord. Charlie is secure.

1132. He is conscious right now in the presence of God, with my

1133. grandfather, who I miss, with your loved ones who died in

1134. Christ, secure in the eternal. Presence of God.

1135. We got lots of questions about the beauty and goodness of

1136. heaven, but we know it's incredible.

1137. Don't leave here without Christ. Don't leave here still in your.

1138. Sin, you can really come to Jesus, the crucified is and Lord

1139. and you'll find forgiveness. You will find eternal life.

1140. You will find a fellowship of believers who love you and say

  1141. welcome, welcome. We didn't.

1142. Well, we might just be a few steps ahead of you on the

1143. timeline, but that's it. Jesus has done everything else

1144. for us. We all come into the Kingdom the

1145. same way. You'll find the love of God that

1146. no murder, that no hate. That no death.

1147. Can ever take away you can join the eternal Kingdom and His

1148. eternal people and worship the Eternal King.

1149. Heavenly Father, thank you so much for the love you have shown

1150. us. God, I pray that everyone under

1151. the sound of my voice would trust you, would believe on you,

1152. would confess their sins to you, and be made new by you.

1153. I want to lead you in a prayer church.

1154. Maybe you've prayed this with all your heart before.

1155. If so, you can pray it again with me now.

1156. If you've never prayed it with all your heart and actually

1157. surrender to the Lord, I want to clarify You're not just

1158. repeating after me or repeat after me.

1159. I believe many people have repeated a prayer like this one

1160. to no effect. They've used their vocal cords

1161. as the air moves through their esophagus to no effect.

1162. But if you are surrendering. Your life to the Lord Jesus.

1163. Christ, then you are about to receive the full grace of God.

1164. That is a miracle, that is a gift, and that is a

1165. resurrection. So let's pray like this,

  1166. heavenly.
