Thank you for joining us today.

-
For God's kingdom.
-
Enjoy the message.
-
If you have your bibles, go with me to Joshua chapter one.
-
We've been in a series where we've been moving from cautious to courageous.
-
Joshua chapter one, we said that this is our focus as we're heading into year 11, that God's moving us from where we are to where he wants us to be.
-
And it's gonna take a courageous step.
-
And last week, as we were talking about, well, what does God see for us in this season? There was two things that we shared that God sees for us is that we were going to impact the one we're asking God for 1% of five zip co zip codes around City Place Church.
-
There's 160,000 people that's around us, and we're just going, God let us impact 1%.
-
Let us play our part to see heaven filled.
-
And that means that we wanna see people saved, baptized, filled with his spirit, discipled and growing in their relationship with God and planted in God's house like we want.
-
We, we want heaven to be filled with every single person that Jesus died for.
-
We want play our part.
-
And then the second thing is we wanted to acquire a building that would we, we would be able to call home, but it would actually be God's house.
-
Uh, we've been portable or semi portable for, uh, the last 10 years.
-
And one thing that we know for sure that is the Lord's will for us is it's for us to have a permanent residency in our city where the guest of our community can, can call home.
-
It's not gonna be a place just for us.
-
It's a seven day a week facility that we see where the community will go.
-
This is the place where I want to be.
-
And we're business people and community organizations and athletics can all take place and people can grow in the knowledge of God, but practically as well.
-
And so those are the two things that we're really focusing our time on.
-
But as we get close to Easter, I felt like this week that I was supposed to slow us down just a bit and talk about the impact of one, because Kay was impacted because of a body of believers.
-
She has an amazing story of what God did for her, and God brought her up to a place of healing and so that she can be released in ministry.
-
She was already doing ministry.
-
She does ministry in Jamaica.
-
But man, the things that she's doing now at this current level is just mind blowing.
-
I shared that several weeks ago that uh, there was a couple from Venezuela that planted themselves in our church and now they're ministering the to the Hispanic community like locally.
-
And I'm just like, God, just thank you for allowing city place to play our part.
-
But in this current season of our church, what level of impact can we make if we all carry the burden? That's on Jesus' heart for us to carry.
-
And so we're gonna take a journey this morning.
-
I'm gonna get real practical.
-
That's the reason why I wanted my seminar microphone.
-
Um, and not this one, but we'll do the best we can to hold ourselves in a box.
-
Is that good? Joshua Chapter one.
-
And again, if this is your first time, second time, maybe you've been taking the three week challenge.
-
Uh, welcome back.
-
Welcome home.
-
It says this in Joshua chapter one, verse nine.
-
And we're gonna read, we're gonna read a lot of scripture today.
-
I'm just gonna prepare you.
-
Okay? I'm in, I'm in no hurry.
-
Uh, it says this, have I not commanded you? This is the Lord speaking to Joshua.
-
Be strong and of good courage.
-
Do not be afraid or dismayed for the Lord.
-
Your God is with you wherever you go.
-
Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people saying, pass through the camp and command the people saying, prepare provisions for yourselves for within three days, you will cross over to this Jordan to go into possess the land, which the Lord your God.
-
Is giving you to possess everyone.
-
Look up at me real quick.
-
Contextually, the people of Israel, they were in bondage for 400 years.
-
They had a promise of God that God was gonna give them a land flow with milk and honey houses.
-
They didn't have to build a Deuteronomy uh, vineyards, that they didn't have to plant or anything like that, that they were gonna walk into the promise of God for their life when they came out of Egypt because of their complaining and their not trusting God and just kind of causing God to be so frustrated.
-
They got stuck in the wilderness for 40 years walking around the same territory until some of the naysayers died off.
-
And God had spoken and said, Joshua and Caleb will go in and the people under 20, they will rise up and they will go in.
-
And so in this part of the story, God has already told Joshua, Moses is dead.
-
It's time to go.
-
And now Joshua is preparing the leaders so that the people can be prepared to go.
-
Okay, you with me? Alright, that's the caught up.
-
Now we can keep it going.
-
Verse 12.
-
And to the reubenites, the gadites and the half.
-
The tribe of nasa, Joshua spoke saying this, remember the word of the Lord, which Moses, the servant of the Lord, commanded you, saying the Lord your God is giving you rest and is giving you this land.
-
Your wives, your little ones, your livestock shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on the other side of this Jordan.
-
But you shall pass before your brethren armed and all your mighty men of valor and help them until the Lord has given your brethren rest as he gave you.
-
And they also shall take possession of the land, which the Lord your God has given them.
-
Then you shall return to the land of your possession and enjoy it, which Moses the Lord's servant, gave you on this side of the Jordan towards the sunrise.
-
So they answered Joshua and said, all that you command us, we will do.
-
And wherever you send us, we will go just as we heeded Moses in all things.
-
So.
-
We will heed you.
-
Only the Lord be with you as he was with Moses.
-
Let's pray.
-
Father, in Jesus' name, thank you for your word.
-
Thank you Lord God, that there are promises that you've called us to walk into.
-
Thank you, holy Spirit, that as we come through and read your word this morning, I pray that life will be given to us, that we will hear your voice so clear.
-
I pray that as I communicate what you've put on the inside of me to communicate this morning, I pray that it will come out with clarity, precision, and power, and that we'll leave stirred in the mighty name of Jesus we pray.
-
Amen.
-
So we're gonna walk through scripture.
-
We love searching the scriptures, and this morning I just wanna slow walk through the text that we just read because this story, God speaks to Joshua, that it's time to go.
-
But there's some highlights that should stir us this morning and that I mentioned last week that God speaks to Joshua and says that I'm gonna do this for you.
-
Then there's gonna be a people that rise up that's also gonna make sure that everyone else proclaims and possesses the promise as well.
-
God speaks to you and I to grab hold of the promises that he has for us, but the promise that God has for us is not just for us.
-
God also stirs in us to be an impactful person, to impact somebody else.
-
Like so.
-
God will speak to us, he will give us clarity of what he wants to do for us, but he'll also give you and I clarity of how we can be used to impact somebody else.
-
In Joshua chapter one, verse 12, God speaks and says, Hey, I just want you to know you are going in to possess.
-
Then I want you to speak to the Reubenites, and I want you to tell them that you are going to walk in the promise of God for you and your family.
-
Your wives and your children will rest in the land that God has called you the same way Moses.
-
Moses gave it to you on this side of the Jordan.
-
Then he says this, but here's what God wants you to do in this season.
-
God wants you while you're possessing your land to help somebody else possess theirs.
-
And he says this, grab all of your fighting men.
-
And what we want you to do is we want you to go and help someone else possess everything that God has already given you until they rest and until they possess.
-
God speaks to us.
-
Hear me everyone.
-
God is gonna give us vision and purpose and it's gonna stir on the inside of us first.
-
But God's purpose and destiny will always impact someone else's life as well.
-
It will never be hear me.
-
It will never be an isolated blessing just for you.
-
It will always have an eternal impact for someone else.
-
The increase financially.
-
Why would he give you so much money? Come on.
-
Why would he give you the level of influence that he gave you? Why would he bring you from what he brought you through to have the testimony that you have? Come on.
-
So God will bless us.
-
Yes.
-
But God will give us vision.
-
For ourselves, but to impact someone else.
-
And that's what God does as he begins to speak.
-
Because he is like, Hey, I just want you to know that I don't want you to get to your land and then sit on your couch and go, well, they should have done what we did.
-
No.
-
What's gonna happen is, is God's gonna stir it in you.
-
He's gonna confirm it in you, but then he is gonna stir it in you to make sure that they get theirs too.
-
Yeah.
-
Can you imagine if City Place Church wasn't just focused on us? Come on.
-
But we also helped out other local churches.
-
Yeah.
-
Right now, city Place Church, you are helping plant churches all across the United States through your generosity.
-
We were Church 567.
-
Since we planted our church, we've been faithfully given.
-
There is now over a thousand churches planted through the Association of Related Churches.
-
Now listen, we may have only given $20 here.
-
$2 went to this church, $10 went to that church.
-
But when God, when we stand before the Lord, he's gonna be like, thank you for what you did.
-
Why We could have been like, it's all about city place and everything that comes in.
-
We gotta make sure that we have what we have or no, there's purpose on the inside of you, but actually be armed and ready until they get their rest and their possessions as well.
-
And so as we're thinking about what God is asking us to do in this season, we've got big vision.
-
We've got big dreams, but it's not about us.
-
It's about eternal impact.
-
And what if we lived our life that way? Here's some things that I just want you to write down that may not be in your notes, but this is how God is speaking and this is what Joshua hears.
-
Joshua hears the promise for himself.
-
He passes that same thing on to the reubenites.
-
They hear the promise for themself, but watch now.
-
And then they begin to hear the promise for others.
-
Like, can we all sit in a place where we know that God is speaking to the person beside you? Like the fact, the fact that someone else in this room is dreaming and stirring and there's purpose and destiny should get us all excited.
-
The fact that you walked in this morning with a dream budding in your heart should get me so excited because, man, if the movement of Jesus continues and I play a part in that, then guess what? I can never sit still.
-
I can never be cautious because until you get to your place of rest, I got work to do.
-
Until Jesus returns and until you are fully passionate about Jesus.
-
Oh, I got work to do.
-
Like I might already have mine, but I can't retire yet until you get yours.
-
What if we have this eternal passion to impact one? This is the reason why I can't head his mic in his hand.
-
Y'all see me like bouncing.
-
I'm double ditching up in here.
-
Come on.
-
If this is the first time here, the Lord gave me a sense of humor.
-
Like so watch, so they can hear the promise for themselves.
-
And then God makes it clear, yes, for you, but actually you've got work to do.
-
Like it's not gonna be a sit down relationship that you and I have with the father.
-
Like accepting Christ is our first step.
-
Walking in, in close proximity is another step.
-
Yeah.
-
As we mature, listen, I know this is gonna blow you away as you grow, you don't have to wait to be a master student to begin to teach.
-
You don't have to have a pastor title to go.
-
You wanna come to church with me? The Red Egg represents y'all.
-
See that? Don't do that.
-
Don't do that.
-
Don't do that.
-
And if you do, do it.
-
Don't wear a city Place church shirt.
-
Please don't do that.
-
Please don't hand hand.
-
Don't do that.
-
No, no.
-
I'm the pastor and I'm not coming with you because if this is anything like your weekend services, I pass.
-
So there's a promise for you.
-
There's a promise for God.
-
Listen to what they say.
-
I want you to contend for somebody else.
-
I know you're gonna contend for yours, but I want you to contend for your, for someone else.
-
He says this, look, he says, I want everyone that's fully armed.
-
You guys, can I just tell you, if you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you're fully armed.
-
Paul talks about it in Ephesians chapter six.
-
He says, put on the whole armor of God.
-
Boom.
-
Everybody in here is already equipped with everything we need.
-
The question is, is are we strapped right now? Come on.
-
Like, are we aware that when we wake up every single day, we wake up going, I put on the full armor of God so I could stand against the enemy schemes.
-
And after I've done all to stand, I stand there for, I've gotta make sure my feet are prepared, my belt's prepared, my chest plate, my helmet of salvation.
-
And then he goes on to say this, me, skip over this sometimes and pray like everything we need for me to pursue, my promise has already been given, but I am equipped to help you.
-
Two.
-
He says, grab all of your fully armed men.
-
You gonna get yours.
-
Help them get theirs.
-
I love it.
-
This is all in the scriptures.
-
He said, now listen.
-
And then what's gonna happen is, is they actually won't go first.
-
You go first.
-
Like sometimes for that person that we're believing for, we go first, we pray.
-
First.
-
We lead the way.
-
It's, and it may take more than a flyer, it may take, I love Hank.
-
I gotta give out.
-
I gotta give a shout out to Hank and Shelly.
-
They load up their vehicles every single Sunday and drive an hour with football students that have been baptized over the last few months.
-
Listen, I know I invited you, but just in case you can't come, guess what I'm equipped for That.
-
I don't care if we squeezed in like a carnival, bunch of clowns.
-
Y'all ever go to the carnival where they all get out the small car and it's like 20 clowns wrapped up in there like, and they keep coming up.
-
Like, I don't care if we have to put people on top of people.
-
We coming.
-
We are equipped.
-
I don't care if we gotta take two vehicles and it costs us our gas money and one gotta leave early, one gotta come late, whatever it takes.
-
Why? Because I'm not just gonna sit in my salvation while you go to hell.
-
Absolutely not.
-
Not on my watch.
-
I am equipped for this and I will impact the one I'm trying to preach.
-
Sean, Sean over here yelling.
-
You better preach Sean.
-
I started 15 minutes ago.
-
I literally said I'm trying to, I'm trying to preach like I love it.
-
Like it, it may be uncomfortable.
-
I'm sure it's uncomfortable to wake up at eight in the morning.
-
And say, everybody meet here and if you can't meet here, we'll go house by house by house to get you.
-
Thank you for doing whatever it takes.
-
I pray that every kid is sitting on a seat with a seatbelt and not like the carnival clowns that are coming out of the small car, but like every single person is equipped at the level that you are to impact somebody else.
-
That's right.
-
I love it because it says you're gonna go overhead.
-
We said this, we said, never discount God's process.
-
Never discount the fact that God can use you right where you are.
-
Come on.
-
We said that the process reveals our spiritual maturity.
-
The process reveals our spiritual.
-
Every step that we take, he reveals our spiritual maturity.
-
He says this, he says this.
-
He says, now guess what? I just want you to know that you're, you're actually going to cross over before them.
-
You're gonna be armed and equipped for this watch.
-
Then he says this, help them until the Lord gives them rest.
-
Did y'all see that? Help them until the Lord gives them rest.
-
What time will that be? Be passionate about the person that needs to possess their prophetic promise until the Lord gives them rest.
-
Have you ever said this? I've tried all I could do.
-
They ain't getting no more of me.
-
Have you said that? Everybody got quiet.
-
Shawn, why you ain't yell? Preaching Shawn ain't yell.
-
Preaching.
-
No.
-
Have, have.
-
Have you ever given up on them? Have you ever said, I've been guilty of this.
-
I've said I'm not praying another minute for them.
-
Anybody there? Was that my timeline or was it the Lord told me that it was time to give to rest? Like if I need, I may not, Hey, listen, you may not interact with me the way you used to, but I gotta make sure that when I'm looking through the crowds of heaven that I see you cannot.
-
I cannot wish for your demise, but I can sure enough, pray until God sends people I can pray until God breaks your heart for the things that breaks his.
-
Yeah, I can pray until God changes you, while he's also changing me.
-
What if we wanted God to impact the one? Are we praying for Muslim nations right now or are we dooming them to hell already? Are they not worthy of the same Jesus that died for them right now? Or are we just like, oh, it is what it is? Are we not praying during the season of war right now, or we're just going, that's just what it is.
-
They deserve it.
-
They've always been against Christ.
-
Everyone's quiet.
-
All I'm saying is, is if we're not careful, we'll be comfortable Christians knowing that we got ours while the world is going to hell.
-
All of this is in Joshua chapter one for the people of Israel, but there's a wake up call like when you get yours.
-
Please don't just park your car in the driveway and Truman show this thing.
-
Good morning, good afternoon, and good night.
-
No, make sure they as well.
-
So he says help until they get rest.
-
Y'all.
-
I was thinking about John chapter 10, verse 10, where there is no limits, where Jesus says, I've come to give you life and give it to you more abundantly.
-
Everybody has the same opportunities with Jesus.
-
So here's the challenge that I was reading.
-
This is like, Hey fellas, uh, while you're going over there, don't look at your watch.
-
Don't look at your watch and say, I've done enough.
-
No, I, I'm going to pray, says this.
-
Help until they too have possessed God's promise.
-
Y'all write this down 'cause I know those blanks are calling out your name.
-
Was that on there? Was that the blank I fill in? I don't know.
-
Is he mentioned that already? Did I miss that? I don't know.
-
I know.
-
See, I know, I know how you think.
-
I know how you think.
-
Write this down.
-
Courageous vision and action for others is not an option.
-
It's a command, courageous vision for others.
-
And that action that's required, it is not an option.
-
It's command.
-
Like Joshua is not like.
-
Hey, as many of you as you can, we've got a serve day.
-
Next Saturday we will be canvassing the community to pass out flyers.
-
Sign up in the foyer.
-
Hey everybody, just want you to know, uh, if you wanna serve one service, sit one service.
-
You can do.
-
So just fill out, scan the QR code, and the leader will connect with you.
-
Huh? No, Joshua's like, Hey, um, we gonna get to work.
-
We are equipped at the level that we're at, and until everybody else gets rest, we work like our serving unto the Lord to reach other people.
-
It's not our option, it's a command.
-
I'm gonna prove it later.
-
Y'all are like, oh, come up.
-
That was a shameless plug.
-
It worked great.
-
In the message notes, listen says, this is in verse 13.
-
He says, Hey, remember the command of the Lord? Like you've already heard that you're gonna rest on one side and help on the other.
-
He says, remember the commandment of the Lord? Like, so now that it's go time, what I don't want you to be is I don't want you to be cautious when it's time to connect them to their purpose.
-
Now is the time for you to be courageous.
-
You heard us talk about it.
-
Moses told you that you were gonna help somebody else.
-
So now it's go time.
-
All of us are gonna hear from the Lord that we need to move.
-
I wrote this down.
-
All God needs to hear and see is our yes for others and our action for others.
-
All God needs to see and hear is our yes, yes, yes.
-
I may not be qualified, I may not be ready.
-
I may not be prepared.
-
But you have my Yes, you have my yes.
-
Verse 16.
-
The leaders were like.
-
Everything that you asked us to do, we going to do.
-
There's no if, ands, or buts about it, we're going if that means that everyone in our community walks in a relationship with Jesus.
-
Yes.
-
If that means that everyone in our community is walking in the peace of their mind Yes.
-
That that means that everyone is whole.
-
Yes.
-
And that mean that marriages have to be shifted and restored.
-
Yes.
-
And that means that every young person that's away from their family and God needs to come back.
-
Yes.
-
Yes.
-
We will do it.
-
Joshua.
-
We will go.
-
Guys, we mentioned about God's heart.
-
We said that God's heart is for lost people to be found.
-
Found people to be free.
-
Free people to be equipped and equipped, people to be mobilized.
-
If you look at that, there is no moment.
-
That reflects God's heart where we sit still, there's a constant movement.
-
Remember we talked about, you can leave that up.
-
We, we talked about how God meets us in our comfort and we, he, he calls us in our first step.
-
Sometimes it's normally cautious, but then when we start connecting to Christ, we move from cautious to being consistent in our growth with God.
-
And then we allow that consistency to strengthen our connection.
-
And then that connection becomes our commitment to Christ where I'm not coming out.
-
And then that commitment continues to allow us to connect even stronger to Christ.
-
And then that, uh, connection moves to courage, to whoever.
-
Just like God, I'm constantly growing and moving in you and God's heart is a consistent step forward in our growth and who we become in him.
-
That's good y'all.
-
I love this first Timothy chapter two.
-
It says this in verse one.
-
It says, therefore I exhort, first of all, that supplications prayers intercessions.
-
And giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and reverence for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God, our savior, who watch now, verse four, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
-
For there is one God, one meat, 80 between God and men.
-
The man Christ Jesus who gave himself a ransom for all of us to be testified in due time.
-
It's God's desire that all men, somebody say all, all, all men and women be saved.
-
Like that's his desire is for every single one to be saved.
-
So write this down.
-
You and I are called to be courageous for others.
-
We're called to be courageous for others.
-
We're called to be courageous for others.
-
Joshua says, Hey, God has his promise for you, but we're armed and equipped for somebody else and we are gonna go until God gives them rest.
-
God's gonna let us know when it's time and until they possess all that God's called us to be.
-
This, this week we've got some reports of people that we are praying for, got cancer diagnosis, family members in hospitals, lungs, elapsing, heart, uh, heart.
-
You know, I don't know what output is.
-
At 20, 30% we've got, uh, some team members, wife rushed to the emergency room.
-
They need to have emergency gallbladder surgery.
-
We could go, man, they gotta figure this thing out and Lord be with 'em.
-
Or we could posture ourselves and we could pray.
-
Like, I may not be the doctor, but I could sure enough, do my part.
-
I'm equipped.
-
Ephesians chapter six, like if you're carrying something in the room, you don't have to carry that by yourself because there are people right beside you who are anointed by God to carry what you're carrying to bear.
-
Like the, the, it says to bear one another's burdens and fulfill the love of Christ.
-
Like if I just carry a little bit of what you're carrying, it'll lighten the load.
-
Rudy, can you come in real quick? Like, like, this is not very heavy.
-
And I, and I asked Rudy to come, 'cause Rudy's like my twin when he comes to build, I need, I didn't wanna, I didn't want to handle every, every analogy, you know what I'm saying? I needed someone who looked just like me.
-
Because too, too much of me is just too much of me.
-
Right? I told him earlier, I was like, I need someone that looks just like me.
-
Same build, same.
-
Ugh.
-
You know what I mean? Same workout plan, eating habits, everything.
-
So, so here, here, here's what I want you to hold that out there.
-
Okay? Now he, he, he's gonna carry the weight.
-
He, he's gonna carry the weight for you.
-
This is light.
-
And, and Rudy, I just want you to hold that until I say you've held it enough.
-
Why are you laughing? No, what I'm saying is, is I want him to carry that until I say it's enough.
-
Like I know that sounds funny 'cause it's in the natural, it sounds like I'm being bossy.
-
Right? You better do what I say.
-
Just, I read the scripture like, we're gonna carry it until the Lord says they're resting.
-
Now I don't know how long he's going to carry that, but do you know what? I chose Rudy because I knew Rudy could carry that.
-
I mean, we look the same.
-
Like I asked Rudy to carry that for me.
-
Guess what? I don't feel what I felt before I handed it to him and, and I know at times when you're praying for others, it may look like that and you're like, God, I'm doing everything I can for them.
-
Like God, I'm carrying my own stuff.
-
God's like, I know you're equipped to carry yours and carry for somebody else.
-
The question is, is are we gonna do that to impact the one? Because here's what I found out about the Lord.
-
While you're carrying something for someone else, God will also carry some things for you.
-
You good? I we do the same exercises like I do.
-
Look, I knew that this would not impact you 'cause it wouldn't impact me like that.
-
Watch this, watch this.
-
I realize that in, in the New Testament, Jesus has a similar moment in Matthew chapter nine.
-
Will you go there with me and Rudy, you, you, you let me know when it starts to get heavy.
-
You let me know when it starts to get heavy, okay? Now I'm gonna tell you though, when you held it long enough, but what I want you to do is if it starts to get heavy or your arms start to go down, your arms are starting to go down.
-
But you can hold it.
-
Okay.
-
Pause right there.
-
My arms are going down, but I can hold it.
-
Rudy, Rudy just said my arms are going down, but I can hold it.
-
Rudy, I, I, I told you that.
-
I'm gonna tell you when you can put it down, but if you start to struggle, you tell me now.
-
What Rudy just did is what I normally do.
-
God, you told me to let you know, but don't worry.
-
I got it.
-
You say it again.
-
I'll take help.
-
He'll, he'll take help.
-
He'll, he'll, he'll take help.
-
So watch, keep say right there though, because I, I need you now to feel the struggle.
-
Okay? I need, I need you now to feel the struggle.
-
So you're carrying your own, you're carrying the weight of others, but now I need you to feel the struggle.
-
Matthew chapter nine.
-
Matthew chapter nine.
-
Y'all are laughing at me.
-
Matthew, chapter nine.
-
Y'all getting anything? You okay? You're, you're trending.
-
Matthew chapter nine says this in verse 35, it says, in Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease.
-
Verse 36, watch this now.
-
And when he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were harassed and helpless.
-
Like a sheep, like sheep without a shepherd.
-
Then Jesus said to his disciples, the harvest is plentiful.
-
Watch, but the workers are few.
-
Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.
-
Verse 10, uh, chapter 10, verse one says this, Jesus called his disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out ipu spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.
-
Everybody look up at me.
-
Everybody look up at me.
-
Jesus in the New Testament is doing all the miracle signs and wonders, and after he's doing all the miracle signs and wonders, it says this, his heart is moved with compassion because he can't touch everybody.
-
And he says that the people are carrying so much of a burden that they're starting to walk around as if they have no leadership, as if they have no guide, and they're harassed and held down, and he looks at his disciples and says, we've got to pray because there's not enough people to help out the one who's carrying the load, not just for themselves, but for somebody else.
-
You need some help.
-
I know you need help.
-
The question is, is will anybody come and help you? Rudy, the question.
-
Will anybody come and help you? Rudy? Like the, it's a lot different when we say I will impact the one like Jesus was moved with compassion and the people are walking around needing a shepherd carrying the weight.
-
But how often do we just, will y'all step back real fast, step back, take your hands off, let the person keep carrying the load while they're carrying it for someone else.
-
Like Jesus literally says, my heart is broken because they're carrying so much, and then he looks at his disciples and says, no more.
-
Will it just be me? I'm empowering you.
-
Will you step back? It's the same thing that Joshua's like, Hey, before you kick up your feet.
-
We getting somebody else to theirs.
-
Like, think about this and write this down in your notes.
-
Y'all stay right there.
-
And then I'm gonna tell you when I want you to take a rest.
-
Now, if the four of you, if the four of you get tired, will you let me know? Okay.
-
Now, this could also represent the church.
-
It could represent a church that meets in a school that literally on a Sunday morning, only 13% of our church serves on a Sunday morning.
-
Did y'all catch that? 13% of City place serves on a Sunday morning, 200 plus people serving, uh, in our church on a Sunday morning.
-
Man, can you imagine what would happen? If it wasn't just the 12%, but it became maybe 40 or 30.
-
Can you imagine the discipleship levels of impacting the one I was doing the math, I was like, okay, Lord.
-
So that's like one person for every what? 10 or 20 every week? 20 per week.
-
That means that I got to be able to love on you, pray for you, hold your baby, smile in the parking lot.
-
Or if I just had a few more to impact you when you come through the door, to smile at you, to hold your baby, to check in your kids, to park with the young, the young leaders.
-
Like, what if I just impacted the one because I'm already equipped at the level that I'm at.
-
Write these things down and then we're gonna pray out.
-
Shawn, am I handing it to you? I think so.
-
Here we go.
-
I'm preparing you, Sean.
-
I'm preparing you.
-
Get ready, get ready.
-
Three days, watch this, watch this, and then we're gonna continue this next week because next week is poem Sunday.
-
Write this down.
-
The burden for people is made clear through a spiritual lens.
-
The burden for people is made clear through a spiritual lens, like we have to be able to see what God sees.
-
Joshua chapter one, Hey, I just want you to know Moses already had this conversation with y'all because God could see what was going to happen and so you will, you will sit and rest, but you're gonna work to make sure that somebody else gets theirs.
-
Matthew chapter, uh, nine, Jesus could see that they were moving around as a, as a sheep that don't have a shepherd, and there's no way that I can be everywhere all the time in the natural while Jesus is walking the earth.
-
So you know what I'm gonna do? I want to impact those who can be.
-
The burden for people is made clear through a spiritual lens.
-
So here's what we need, and these are not in your notes.
-
We're gonna, we're gonna believe God for the father's clarity.
-
We need God's vision so that we can have pursuit.
-
What is beating on his heart in this season? And y'all, I want us to think about this, okay? God's heart is not for our personal accomplishment.
-
It's for eternal impact.
-
God wants us blessed.
-
We're ki His kids.
-
If we're in fellowship with Jesus Christ and receive the gift of salvation, he wants us to walk in purpose and destiny.
-
But that's not the thing that's driving him.
-
Eternal impact is.
-
Eternal impact is.
-
So what we're gonna do this morning, I thank you for carrying the.
-
It is a lot easier.
-
Rudy, you guys getting tired yet? Ha ha.
-
Nobody wants to say a little bit.
-
A little bit.
-
You'll take the help.
-
I wonder who would help them.
-
They said they're getting a little tired.
-
I wonder who would help them.
-
I wonder who would help them, who would help carry the load? Do we have enough help? I, I, I wonder do we have enough help? I mean, 'cause I know sometimes you can see things happening in a local church and you can say, I feel like we have enough help.
-
You guys good? Yeah.
-
Now can I just say something, city place.
-
What if this was the posture of our heart for the one, what if in this season as a church, it wasn't 13%? What if we didn't have to be asked? I just said, I got you.
-
I'm actually, can I, can I be honest with you? I, I love the way y'all got up.
-
I love that there are young leaders up in here.
-
I love that there are student ministry leaders up in here, young adults up in here.
-
I love that you representing the ladies.
-
I love that there are men up in here from the man cave.
-
Why? Because we all equipped where we are.
-
You're like doing gymnastics.
-
Like she, like, I'm ready for you to dismount, girl.
-
No, but listen, this is where God is calling us.
-
You've been invited to Canvas.
-
You've been invited to serve one sit, one.
-
You've been invited to impact others.
-
And if I can be totally honest with you, city Place will move at the rate of our passion.
-
We already have the promise of God, we already have his green light, but maybe the snowball moves a little bit faster on our impact.
-
When you and I get out of our seats, uh, it's not an option.
-
He lets us know that we need to move.
-
Next week we gonna continue because we're gonna see God move.
-
I'm gonna challenge every single person.
-
You have that connection card.
-
I wanna challenge every single person in that box where it says, uh, praise report or prayer request.
-
I want you to write down which service.
-
You're gonna commit to serve.
-
Write your name, your email address.
-
I will serve at the nine 30 Service and Worship at the 11th service.
-
I'm challenging every single person unashamed to impact people.
-
I don't know who God's gonna send.
-
And then over next week, I'm gonna give you other areas where you can plant yourself and plug in.
-
You don't have to love kids' ministry.
-
You can always check in a kid.
-
You can stand at the door.
-
Help park cars.
-
Listen, we need more prayer people.
-
More prayer partners.
-
One of the things that we've been talking about as a leadership team, we've had 900 plus people meet Jesus and we've had 140 plus baptisms.
-
You know what? Can I be honest? As a pastor, I'm like, Lord, I don't want that gap to be so wide.
-
I don't want 800 plus people not baptized God.
-
I want us to have enough people mobilized so that more people can be baptized.
-
Y'all good? Anybody getting tired? Do you need more help? You could take all the help you need.
-
Is there anybody else that would want to help? Is there anybody else that would want to help? Anybody else that would want to help? Anybody? I mean, like, I, anybody else? Like I, anybody else? I mean, I don't know when y'all think, I mean, any, anyone else? Like I, I know it may seem kind of crazy, but I'm, I, we might have the space.
-
Yep.
-
Yeah.
-
We good? Yeah.
-
Yeah.
-
Hey, no, no, no.
-
Liam, Liam, Liam, Liam.
-
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
-
Watch this.
-
Watch this.
-
Watch this.
-
You, you're qualified.
-
Do you know why? Because guess what? You, you, you, you can help me.
-
I got you.
-
You got, you got me.
-
No, listen, listen, listen, listen.
-
You, you, you, you, you, you're, you're perfect.
-
You, you're perfect.
-
Because you know why? He might get tired.
-
He might get tired.
-
Do you know what else he, he, while they're fighting, you could go.
-
Anybody need a towel? Anybody need water? Huh? Anybody need a runner? Huh? You need me to go and tell such and such, huh? Okay.
-
I You need papers? Alright.
-
You need me to get more connection cards? You see what I'm saying? There's always a place you never have to turn back, 'cause God will use you where you are.
-
So here's what I'd like for you to do.
-
I'd like for you to pray this morning and, and, and, and don't worry about being perfect because if you, if you pray too long, I'll cut you off.
-
I'm just saying playing.
-
No, look.
-
No, don't worry.
-
Look, look.
-
So, so your place is that you're actually gonna lead these adults in prayer? See what I'm saying? You were about to turn away.
-
No, no.
-
Absolutely not.
-
You're gonna pray for us this morning.
-
All right? So I just want you to pray and then you do your thing.
-
But now listen, as you pray, you're holding them up.
-
Because they will get tired, but you're gonna hold them up.
-
I got you.
-
Um, heavenly Father, um, we pray that we all have a good rest of their day after church.
-
We hope that everyone here has had an amazing Sunday so far.
-
We hope that they can just have an amazing time, and I hope that these people don't get tired while holding up the, the pole thing.
-
Um, um, I pray that everyone else can, um, just have a good day.
-
Um, um, Jesus, Jesus name.
-
Amen.
-
Now listen.
-
Now, now here, here.
-
Here's what I want you to do.
-
Here, here, here's what I want you to.
-
Okay, now everyone's been holding it up.
-
Now watch this.
-
Here's what I want you to do.
-
Well done for holding up the bar for me.
-
You all can go back to your seat.
-
What? Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
-
You all can go back to your seat.
-
Listen, take a break and get some rest.
-
Thank you very much for your willingness.
-
Come on.
-
Can we celebrate them? Y'all don't wanna put the pole down just in case there's more to it, huh? I know how it is.
-
I know how it.
-
Is listen city place, let's keep that posture.
-
We can accomplish a lot.
-
Dream team, I wanna say thank you because you, you make it look so easy when you're running at 13% on a weekend.
-
You make it look easy, but outta it, declare over this church, no more, we're gonna carry it together.
-
We're gonna impact this city.
-
Amen.
-
Let's pray.
-
Father, in Jesus' name, thank you for your goodness.
-
Thank you that we were able to renew our heart and our focus with you and God as we pursue the one you've equipped us right where we are.
-
I pray that a fresh burden comes on our church.
-
For the lost person, for the broken person, for the person that doesn't want anything to do with you, for the person that's not dreaming.
-
God, I pray you'll use us right where we are to impact the one.
-
We gladly accept what you're commanding of us, and we will do all that is in your heart, and we will be strong and we will be courageous.
-
In the mighty name of Jesus.
-
We're so grateful.
-
God, I pray that as we enter into our Easter season, I pray Father, that we will see your hand and your glory like never before.
-
In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
-
Amen.
-
Did y'all get something today? Awesome.
-
Thanks so much for joining us.
