Welcome to the Southwest Apostolic Church podcast.
-
This podcast is brought to you by the Southwest Apostolic Church,
-
located at 3161 South Rowena Street in Indianapolis, Indiana, 46241.
-
The podcast will feature preaching
-
from our pastor and from other ministers, so we hope you enjoy it.
-
Without further ado, let's get right into it. God bless.
-
If you have it, say amen. Amen. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body,
-
that you should obey it in the lust thereof.
-
That means the desires thereof.
-
I'm going to talk tonight, our subject, I'm going to talk about sin tonight.
-
Just talk about it and see what the Bible says about it. And would you mind
-
praying with me one more time? Lord, we need you tonight.
-
We ask you, Lord, to help us with your word.
-
Help us that you would open it up to us and realize that we need you,
-
and we ask you in Jesus' name. Amen.
-
Amen. When you talk about sin, the first thing you have to talk about.
-
Well, there's a few things you could talk about, but let's see what the Bible says that sin is.
-
Let's talk about it. But let's go to, oh, let's start with 1 John 3 and 4.
-
So sin is a deep subject.
-
We realize that sin came into the world because of Adam's transgression, disobedience to God.
-
That would kind of, a transgression of the known, 1 John 3, 4,
-
wherefore whosoever committeth sin transgresses also the law.
-
For sin is the transgression of the law.
-
Now, I was listening to a lecture the other day or looking at it on YouTube.
-
It was a Harvard professor, and he was talking about the first Cain and Abel,
-
and he talked about murder, talked about Cain murdering his brother,
-
and he was asking the question.
-
And he said, where did God ever tell them not to murder?
-
He said, we don't read where God told them not to murder.
-
And he was, you know, getting out there deep. But I believe that every man has
-
a conscience, don't you?
-
I believe that Adam, see, that Adam, when God told him not to eat that fruit,
-
whatever it was, he put in him the opportunity to either do good or not do good.
-
And every one of us have the opportunity to either do good or not do good.
-
But the thing that we need to realize, the Bible says that all have sinned and
-
come short of the glory of God.
-
Now, I want to zero in on that for a few minutes.
-
But real quick, let's go another definition. The Bible says in Psalms 10, 19,
-
in the multitude of words, there wanteth not sin, but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
-
Sometimes what you say can be sin. Sometimes you can talk too much.
-
Somebody say, man, sometimes words can be sin. Amen.
-
They didn't want to go upstairs. The boys did. They don't want to go upstairs.
-
They want to stay with you. All right. Huh?
-
Okay. All right. So vain talk is sin.
-
The Bible says in Proverbs 14, 21, he that despises his neighbor sinneth.
-
So sin could be the contempt for others. But he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.
-
In Proverbs 24, 9, the thought of foolishness is sin, and the scorner is an abomination to men.
-
The Bible says also in Romans 14, 23,
-
And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith,
-
for whatsoever is not of faith, is sin.
-
So unbelief can be sin. Neglect of an opportunity.
-
Therefore, to him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
-
And we read about transgression of the law. And in 1 John 5,
-
17, all unrighteousness is sin.
-
And there is a sin not unto death. And sin is a universal thing.
-
No one can say, for all have sinned. And now here's where I want to get to,
-
OK, here's another definition of sin.
-
All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
-
All right. So this is what I want us to think about tonight.
-
OK, so sin is a big subject.
-
And we know that a outright transgression of the law is sin.
-
You can say thou shalt not commit adultery or the law of love in the New Testament.
-
Love your neighbor, love God. If you love your neighbor, you won't be stealing his car.
-
You won't be messing with his wife. So if you love like you should,
-
you'll fulfill what is called the royal law of love and you won't sin.
-
Okay. So sin is a transgression. So if you know what the, if you know,
-
and to him that knoweth to do
-
good and doeth it not, the Bible said it is sin. Isn't Isn't that right?
-
Didn't we just read that? And it also says, for all have sinned.
-
You see, I'm trying. I want to get there. I don't want to get there too fast.
-
For all have sinned and come show it. That's the key definition that I want to talk about tonight.
-
Missing the walk. You see, when we think about sin, we look at it from our point of view.
-
And our point of view says, I'm doing all right.
-
I didn't knock nobody out today.
-
I didn't get drunk today. I didn't. When we look at it from our point of view,
-
we think we're doing all right.
-
So, see, when we're talking about sin and those things, we want to look at things
-
from God's point of view.
-
Amen. Because we want to be right with God. And we sometimes forget that God
-
is a holy God, righteous God, and in him is no sin at all. He doesn't lie.
-
He doesn't cheat. He doesn't play head games with people.
-
He doesn't do any of that kind of stuff. And when we have to realize that since
-
humanity has sinned and come short, they came short.
-
You see, what it is, it's not doing what God wants.
-
That's the bottom line. I was reading about Cain and Abel, and they were talking
-
about this in this lecture, too.
-
Cain brought an offering to God And Abel brought an offering to God And the
-
Bible says That God accepted Abel's offering And he did not accept Cain's offering.
-
Now, we can talk about why he accepted it, what he accepted,
-
what he didn't accept, why, all that.
-
But the point is, and Cain, he talked to Cain about it.
-
And he said, he said, Cain, if you do good, don't you know that what you,
-
if you do good, then what you do will be accepted.
-
In other words, Cain, if you bring and do what God wants done and do God's will
-
and do it the way God wants you to do it, you'll be accepted.
-
But he said, if not, he said, sin lieth at the door.
-
And it's interesting that the word sin and sin offering means the same word.
-
So, in other words, you've got a choice here, Cain.
-
Now, you know what to do. You know what to do, right? And I'm telling you,
-
if you just do what's accepted and do what I'm asking you to do, it'll be accepted.
-
So you've got a choice here. You're going to make a choice. You're either going
-
to offer the correct sin offering or you're going to go into an area called sin.
-
You're going to go into a place called sin that is where people go and things
-
are that disobey God. And the fact of the matter is, that is where all of humanity is. Okay?
-
We need God. And the Bible says it's of his mercies that we're not consumed.
-
The reason humanity is still alive and the reason humanity have the opportunity
-
to be saved, it's because of that amazing grace we were singing about to God.
-
You know, I'm glad God cares, and I'm glad he's got mercy. Aren't you glad he's got mercy tonight?
-
But I want to zero in on this. So all humanity, those that aren't living,
-
they're not. So people get up every day.
-
You say, well, they go to work.
-
They drive the car. They might have a little road rage here,
-
you know, but they're all right.
-
But the fact of the matter is, we could probably say with a little bit of confidence,
-
quite a bit of confidence that most people aren't thinking about what God means.
-
Most people really, maybe somewhere they might have a question about God.
-
It might pop up every once in a while, and somebody will talk about it,
-
but it kind of goes away, and they go on back doing what they want to do, okay?
-
So we know that all humanity is the world lieth in sin, the Bible says.
-
But now when I'm going to talk about redemption and all that,
-
I just want to talk about sin and what it is.
-
First of all, it's a verb, and it's a noun. Okay.
-
Okay, it's a person, place, or thing. Sin is a place you can be in.
-
The world is in sin, okay?
-
Sin is something you do and something you commit. So it's also a verb, okay?
-
But sin is, there's sin under death.
-
There's adultery, fornication, homosexuality, all that kind of stuff.
-
We know that is a, and sin has a tendency to get worse.
-
People don't just get better. People don't just get better.
-
Like people say, you know, like the evolutionists say, well,
-
we're all getting better.
-
And if we just stay together and do what we're supposed to, it'll all work out.
-
That's not the way humanity is. Somebody say amen.
-
Because we know that the tendency is down.
-
And I'm trying to get somewhere tonight. I'm kind of struggling a little bit,
-
but that's probably my problem, not yours.
-
The Bible says, for the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness
-
and unrighteousness of men who
-
hold the truth or hold down the truth in unrighteousness. righteousness.
-
And then it goes on to say, because that which may be known of God is manifest
-
in them, for God hath showed it unto them.
-
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen,
-
being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead,
-
so that they are without excuse.
-
And we read that because men, when they knew God, They glorified him not as God.
-
Neither were thankful, but became vain in their imaginations.
-
And their foolish heart was darkened, professing themselves to be wise.
-
They become fools, change the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made
-
like a corruptible man, and to birds and four-footed beasts and creeping things.
-
They don't, humanity doesn't like to retain.
-
If you don't, I want to tell you what, I want to keep God in my knowledge.
-
I want to keep God in my brain. I want to keep God in my heart.
-
I want to keep God in my, I want to be where God is. I want to think about God.
-
I want to make sure I'm right with God.
-
Let me say this, and this is another part of the lesson, but sin will be judged.
-
Okay. But God is merciful. Aren't you glad he's merciful?
-
Okay. So what happens is humanity, uh.
-
He changes the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like uncorruptible
-
man, idols, birds, they worship, and four-footed beasts, golden calves, and creeping things.
-
And God gave them up to uncleanness through the lust of their own hearts to
-
dishonor their own bodies between themselves,
-
who changed the truth of God into a lie and worshiped and served the creature
-
more than the Creator who is blessed forever.
-
Amen. And we see that today, don't we?
-
There's a lot of humans getting a lot of worship today.
-
There's a lot of people worshiping other humans. They're really,
-
I mean, they think a lot of them.
-
I heard them talking. I've never heard of Bad Bunny. Anybody know who Bad Bunny is?
-
Bad Bunny, I guess he's a Spanish rapper. I don't know what Bad Bunny is going
-
to sing at the Super Bowl.
-
And, you know, I'm 67, so I don't know too much about Bad Bunny.
-
But I guess worldwide old
-
bad bunny there people real people really follow
-
these people and let's face it they get into an idol worship almost they love
-
them they follow them what's another one jelly roll you know he's another big
-
one he's not so big now I mean he lost 200 pounds So Jelly Roll is just a Pop-Tart now, praise the Lord.
-
Jelly Roll went from Jelly Roll to Pop-Tart, praise the Lord.
-
But these people, humanity put their affection on things that they shouldn't put their affection on.
-
And all these things, and they follow these things. And what happens is they're
-
sinning because they're in the wrong area.
-
You see, there's a dimension.
-
Things are in dimensions.
-
It's like, let me give you an example.
-
Let's say the Bible talks about the wearing of gold, you know, not the wearing of gold.
-
So the Bible lets us know that our outward bling-bling is not what's important,
-
but it's the input man. Okay, that's what the Bible teaches. Is that right?
-
All right. So, what happens is, you have to figure this out because the Bible's
-
teaching us that wearing the gold
-
and wearing a lot of bling bling and everything is not the way to gold.
-
So you say, well, it doesn't say exactly where it is. What I'm now,
-
we're into the falling short part now.
-
Is missing the mark somewhere if the
-
bible teaches against certain things and it's and
-
it's like it says the warrior gold let the hit let it
-
be the hidden man of the heart not the outward appearance so
-
somewhere okay you put on a let's say
-
let's say i gave you example in our
-
world i can remember when the earrings were clip on can see anybody else remember
-
that then they started that putting holes in their ears and then they started
-
doing all kinds of stuff and people started wearing rings and then they start
-
wearing a ring on this thing and a ring on this thing and a ring on this thing
-
and a ring on this thing and a ring on this thing and a ring on this thing and
-
a ring in her nose and a ring around her name.
-
So what I'm saying is somewhere in the dimension of what God said the way it
-
should be and somewhere you go from one dimension to the other.
-
It's a shame for a man to have long hair. What's that mean?
-
Now all I know is if I let my hair grow,
-
and I cut it short somewhere and
-
I let it go somewhere it's
-
going to go from the dimension of short to long
-
isn't that right it's going
-
to go now where is that I don't know some guys say well I'm on there just my
-
neck's not really long it could be a lot longer and the other guy says you know
-
I think I'll keep my bloods cut or whatever and you know so where is what is
-
what What I'm saying is somewhere you don't want to get in the dimension of
-
missing the mark. That's what I'm getting.
-
We want to make sure you're on this side.
-
You want to make sure you're in the good area, not the dimension of just pushing the edge.
-
Are you with me? And so now talking to children of God, talking to people that
-
are baptized, got the Holy Ghost, you are called a saint,
-
I know King James is called to be but the fact of the matter is when God gives
-
you the Holy Ghost or anybody gives you the Holy Ghost been baptized got the
-
Holy Ghost and God calls you into his church there's a tag good on you you get a tag.
-
You get a new name in your forehead. The Bible says it. You get an identity.
-
Your identity is you are a saint of God.
-
Now, the thing you have to operate in is that dimension.
-
You have a responsibility. I have a responsibility to operate in the dimension of being a saint.
-
Now, I'm not talking about Mother Teresa's saint or something like that.
-
I'm talking about being a real Christian.
-
Yes, amen. We have a responsibility. to be a real Christian.
-
And somewhere along the line, we have to take it serious about making sure we're
-
operating in the right area because missing the mark can be sin.
-
And I don't want to sin. I don't want you to be in sin. I don't want anybody to be in sin.
-
And I think sometimes we don't take this so serious enough.
-
We kind of just kind of stick, what's the old stick to the balloon?
-
We just kind of think it ain't no big deal you
-
know if I am a child of God and God has told me and pulled me and shot me in
-
the church and he has told me that I am a chosen generation and a royal priesthood
-
and a holy nation he puts these on me so wait a minute.
-
If I don't think about that and try
-
to operate in that area and try
-
to stay in that dimension you say
-
well maybe i don't know you say i don't know where
-
that dimension is that's why you've had leadership that's
-
why you have things called standard it's like a ground
-
beef i don't know what the exact standard is
-
but i've said this before if somebody's going to say 100 percent ground beef
-
on their package it probably has to be 99.9 or 99.5 ground beef because i guarantee
-
there's somebody that put dopamine in there and put 100% brown beef on it and sell it if they could.
-
It's called a standard. That's called a, yeah, a standard.
-
Standard is where, like, the line is. Where is the line? I don't know.
-
It's like I was talking about long hair, okay? So you have to,
-
what it is, you have to say, okay, it is a dimension I need to be in.
-
Where can I? So that's why you have churches, and that's why you have pastors,
-
and that's why you have standards.
-
And what you have to do, you have to draw a line somewhere and say,
-
I'm going to stay over here.
-
Because if you don't, what happens is you get it okay am I making any sense
-
about getting close in that dimension,
-
okay let's just follow love not the world neither the things that are in the
-
world for if you love the world, the love of the father is not in you well,
-
brilliant, what's that mean,
-
wait a minute You know, what are we doing here?
-
Does that mean, does that mean I can't go play football?
-
I think you're all right.
-
What's quiet and I'm sorry to sweat. I'm not preaching against football.
-
I'm not saying. So if I say something, I'll let you know what I'm doing.
-
Okay. But what I'm saying is there's things that are in the world. Are you with me?
-
Yeah. The love of the world, the things in the world,
-
the entertainment of the world, the world the world the world and it's
-
out there okay now so well I'm going to take my kids and go walk by okay that's
-
it go on walk by and have a good time and say okay but you understand but there's
-
some things you can if you go out there too far you're getting into a different
-
convention yeah exactly,
-
I want to tell you what I think. Child of God, born again, back down.
-
I think all these two so-called apostolic folks, and I'm listening to one record. I don't care.
-
They start running out here and start being idol worships with these football players.
-
You got so-called apostolic running off to the football games.
-
I think they're getting out there in the wrong direction.
-
You see what I'm trying to say? Because there is a dimension where you're in,
-
the sin. And sin is missing the mark.
-
Wait a minute. Is that what God really wants for his people?
-
Smoking seeds. You say, well, don't say.
-
Don't say nothing in the Bible about smoking doobies or smoking seeds.
-
Can I smoke a doobie? Well, think about it.
-
Does God want his people out there hiring a tyke? I don't think that.
-
Does he want? is an okay thing. Ray Young's way out there.
-
Does God want his people intoxicated? No, absolutely not.
-
Paul told Timothy, drink a little wine for your stomach's sake.
-
You know, somebody's got an infirmary and they drank wine because of the water
-
wasn't good and all that.
-
And if somebody, you know, somebody said, I'm drinking a little.
-
Somebody said, Somebody said,
-
I got an infirmity in my stomach and I got a little wine in the cupboard.
-
Okay, maybe that's true. But I'm going to tell you what, if you keep hitting
-
that bottle, you're getting into the wrong area.
-
You know, I got a stomachache getting back, you know.
-
My stomach's killing me. You see what I'm saying?
-
So we want to make sure as children of God and this will fall through life.
-
The Bible talks about a child of God. A man of God, a servant of God has to be faithful.
-
We have to be faithful to God. We have to be faithful to church.
-
We have to be faithful to our families. We have to be faithful.
-
And so, you know, you go to church and then you miss church and you go to church
-
and you miss church and you miss church.
-
Well, wait a minute. Now you're going to be careful. You're going to get in the wrong dimension.
-
So God wants his people to be faithful. Somebody said, what kind of church would
-
you have if everybody in it was like you?
-
If everybody in the church was like you, what would it be like?
-
If everybody in the church was like Brother Breeden, they'd be down Taco Tuesdays every week.
-
He sent me a picture the other day with him and Chad was in churches and had
-
a picture of church's chicken and said, yum, yum. the line.
-
So what we're talking about is tonight, we need to keep God in our mind and
-
think about, wait a minute, am I operating the way God wants me to?
-
We can make decisions and do things if we have that right to do that.
-
But we have to realize, wait a minute, there is a responsibility and there is
-
a dimension that I'm supposed to operate in as a child of God.
-
As a child I'm to operate in a certain dimension I'm not supposed to get out of that,
-
I'm not supposed to run something get mad at somebody run them off the road
-
pull the shotgun out on them you know road rage because that's some in the long
-
dimension there I don't belong there that's not where it's like this you take a killer whale,
-
you take a big whale or a shark and they stay in the water man that whale he can go deep,
-
a big old whale he can come flying up out of the water and do a period and flop back down in there,
-
no sharks you know.
-
He's in the right he's in where he belongs he's operating where he belongs,
-
that's where God wanted him that's what God did him that's what God wants for
-
a whale he don't want him laying up on the beach because if he gets out of the
-
water he's the goner he's a goner,
-
let's call a beached whale and the next thing you know you'll have people running
-
out there trying to push him back into water and everything because they know
-
that's not where he belongs well let's face it there's places and things where
-
people and the people of God don't belong there,
-
you know well we done went there we might not go out of the When I was young,
-
every restaurant didn't sell beer.
-
They wouldn't open on Sundays. But now you say, well, can I go to Pizza Hut? Pizza Hut served beer.
-
Well, can I go to Ruby Tuesdays? Ruby Tuesdays has a bar in there.
-
Well, I go to Ruby Tuesdays. I don't go to the bar. Well, I can go to Ruby Tuesdays.
-
I love this. Oh, yeah. I love this. something.
-
But have me know, there's some place that you can go to, you're in at Lippon-Pakon, don't you?
-
You can go to a restaurant that has a bar or you can be in a bar that has a restaurant.
-
With me. And what I'm teaching tonight is sin is a serious subject,
-
and we don't want to be guilty of sin in any way. So we don't want to miss the mark.
-
We want to come out from among them and be separate, saith the Lord.
-
That's what he told us to do.
-
And touch not the unclean thing.
-
And if you do that, and he said, I will receive you unto myself,
-
and you'll be my sons and my daughters.
-
You know, what he's saying is, I don't want you out there getting messed up.
-
I don't want you sinning. I don't want you out there sinning.
-
And some people, it's not. We're talking about things that are, what's the word?
-
I'm not talking about. Now, we've read where the transgression of the law is sin.
-
Fornication, adultery, homosexuality, lying, stealing.
-
We know that that is wrong. We know that anybody is not supposed to be doing that.
-
Okay. But there's also an area that is bigger than that, and it's another dimension,
-
and it's called the dimension of missing the moral.
-
Do you know there was an offering in the Old Testament, the sins of ignorance?
-
Because we did stuff wrong and
-
don't even realize it. We hurt people's feelings and don't even mean to.
-
We say things we don't really we don't want to hurt nobody but sometimes somebody
-
could take what we say wrong and we did it the ignorance we could do a lot of
-
things in ignorance i do a lot of things in ignorance i'm ignorant i don't know
-
about you but i'm ignorant sometimes you know,
-
so you have so what we have is you have people that are violating the the the
-
law and the principles of god that don't know it and you have people that are
-
violating the principles of god And they do know it and don't care.
-
There's people that they know what the Bible says. They know what Christians believe.
-
They know what the standard of living is supposed to be.
-
They know they're not supposed to be two men married together.
-
But they know the church says that, well, see, what happened?
-
Remember what I said, the downhill trend.
-
They said, well, the church, I know I'm not supposed to be doing that because
-
your church stands against it. Now, the church don't need things in Eastward.
-
They got homosexual bitches and everything else. See, they went from a dimension.
-
See, they went from, you know, they went from one dimension to another dimension.
-
And they got in that dimension just as soon as they started transgressing what God says to do.
-
And we don't want to transgress what
-
God wants us to do. We don't want to transgress what God wants us to be.
-
We need to realize who we are. That's a good Bible study.
-
You are a chosen generation. that means
-
a group of people a certain race of people god has
-
called you and put you into his church and he called
-
you a saint and you're a chosen generation you are a royal priesthood you are
-
a priesthood you have access to god the your high priest is the jesus is your
-
father and you can intercede on behalf of people you have the ability to intercede
-
and pray for your family and pray for the neighborhood and pray.
-
That's who you are. And don't just disregard that.
-
We don't just disregard who we are, what God wants us to be.
-
We can't just disregard that.
-
And that's what happens. People disregard it. They don't think about it.
-
Or maybe they do think about it. But they just run off and do what they want to do.
-
Well, be careful. Be careful, Mr. Whale. Don't get out there and do just what
-
you want to do. You want to make sure you're in the right dimension.
-
To make sure we're doing what we're supposed to be doing. You see,
-
the Bible said, who much given is much required.
-
And he that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
-
Jesus said, there's some people who's going to be beaten with,
-
you know, this is a lot deeper than this. We're just skimming across the edges,
-
you know, because there's some scriptures.
-
What about people that don't know? Well, everybody's got a conscience. Let's start there.
-
People know if they're doing right or wrong and what it is they know they make
-
a decision you make a decision to do right or you make a decision to do wrong
-
and if they make a decision to do wrong they justify themselves.
-
All right you don't have to go to church that much you don't have to do all
-
that you don't have to do that let me ask you a question if i'm a man and god
-
saved me and i'm a man do i need to be running around in a little tutu am i
-
missing the mark come on somebody You better believe it. You better believe it.
-
Don't even think about me in a tutu. I don't know why I say that.
-
I could have just said a dress, I guess. That's better.
-
But what, you see what I'm saying? So how do we feel? How do we present on staff? If you're elected.
-
See, the world, the ladies of the world, the women of the world,
-
they're not thinking about presenting themselves.
-
Matter of fact, the world says it doesn't matter. how you present yourself.
-
But how many knows? We can see the fact that it does matter and we can see that
-
men are men and women are women.
-
And we can see that if you break down those lines, it is a detriment to society.
-
And it's a detriment to children.
-
It's a detriment to the family.
-
Look around. I said, just look around.
-
So what am I trying to say? Make sure you stay in the right dimension as a child of God.
-
Make sure, think about where you go, what you do, what you say,
-
and don't just slough it off and say it ain't no big deal.
-
Now, let me throw this in. The Bible says that we have a liberty, Christian liberty.
-
All things are lawful, but not all things are exceeding. Not everything's good for you.
-
Okay? So, the fact that you say, well, it's easy.
-
Let's go back to the taverns and the bar again, I guess.
-
Bernie Young's taking you back to the tavern. Okay, here we go.
-
Okay. One guy, he sees it.
-
We talked about a restaurant with a bar and a bar with a restaurant.
-
The guy sees a bar with a restaurant, and he says, I'm out of town,
-
and I need something to eat. And he goes in and gets something to eat. Okay.
-
And he realizes he wouldn't go there all the time. He just got in something, and he left.
-
The problem is there are people that look at that and say, no big deal.
-
And you start going to a bar, and then the next thing you're sitting at the
-
bar, eating. You can eat at the bar, and you're sitting at the bar,
-
and you're eating, and the next thing you know, you're getting in the wrong
-
dimension. Am I making any sense here?
-
So that's why all this being said, that's why churches have standards.
-
That's why they say we want our women to dress like women.
-
That's why we want our men to look like men.
-
The Bible says that men should. Now, okay, let's go back to the,
-
what did I say? The long hair, short hair thing.
-
When I got saved, the preacher said, keep a decent hair cut off the ears and off the top.
-
Maybe if you go a little longer, is that really, you know, this is,
-
you want to be in the right convention. Does that make any sense?
-
Well, if I'm supposed to have long hair, what's that mean? You know,
-
what's long? Leave it alone. Just let it grow. That's what it means.
-
Don't trim it. Don't burn it. Just, it's as long as God makes it.
-
It's not the link that it's not a legal thing.
-
Like the lady that's got real long hair is more spiritual than the lady whose
-
hair grows up here. The point is just let it grow.
-
Stay in. I'm a, I'm a lady and long hair is my glory.
-
And God made me a lady and my long hair is my glory.
-
Then I'm going to let it get as long as it wants to get.
-
And I can lock. There's probably a lot of women today that are praying,
-
Lord, make it longer, but then there's some that don't matter.
-
In our world, it doesn't matter, does it?
-
Bubby got him a haircut, chili bowl, Danny called it.
-
And I went to a gas station today, and there was a lady, there was a lady waiting
-
on people at the gas station.
-
She had an haircut like Bubby's.
-
Am I throwing off on her? No, I'm not throwing off on nobody.
-
I'm pointing at the world as in a dimension. They don't need to realize that.
-
But we, the Bible says it like this. He called us out of darkness.
-
Somebody say out of darkness into his marvelous light. We want to operate in the light. Amen.
-
We don't want to transgress the law. We don't want to be disobedient.
-
We don't want to have belief. We want to believe God. We want to operate in
-
the dimension as a child of God.
-
And there's other things. I mean, this goes all, you know, there's so much you
-
could say, but I'm going to quit.
-
I think I should have quit at the tutu probably.
-
Praise the Lord.
-
But let's make, see, sin, old Bishop Tyson used to say it like this,
-
hell's still smoking and God ain't joking.
-
This ain't a play thing. Living for God and sin and being right, but God's not leaving.
-
That's not something to take lightly. That's not something to turn your back
-
on. That's not something. I'm telling you, take your walk with God serious.
-
Take your church service for God serious.
-
Take your church life, your prayer life, your walk with God.
-
Make it as serious as you can get it. Amen. Because it is serious.
-
Because no sin is going in over there, ladies and gentlemen.
-
But I'm glad. You know what I'm glad about, though? I'm glad he's the judge.
-
See he has to sort all
-
that out somebody say what about i don't know
-
that's no man's land i don't belong there that belongs to god i'll let
-
god handle that part of it but you know what he is
-
going to handle it he told people in the old in the
-
new testament go your way and send the whole and that's what we want to do tonight
-
let's stand praise the lord praise the lord let's stay in the right dimension
-
let's be children of god let's live holy and godly righteous and you know i
-
I think the Holy Ghost will let you know if you start getting in the wrong dimension.
-
It will. The Bible says that the Holy Ghost will lead us and guide us and teach
-
us, lead us and guide us into all truth. The Lord will let you know.
-
You know if you say something you shouldn't say. You know you can go to a place
-
and you can feel the atmosphere.
-
You know I better back off of this place.
-
When I first got the Holy Ghost, I was riding with the guy. I got you standing.
-
Just give me another minute. I just thought of this. When I first got the Holy
-
Ghost, when I was 25, I rode to work with these guys.
-
And every Friday when they got off work, they'd go to the tavern and cash their check.
-
So I'm young in the Lord. I think, well, I know it's the tavern,
-
but I can walk in there and cash my check too.
-
And I can sit there and wait on them while they drink a beer or two and then
-
take me home. I can drink a Coke.
-
But after a while, I got thinking about that. I don't think I need to be sitting
-
in here waiting on these guys. Thank you.
-
Ain't careful, I'm going to be ordering something else besides a Coke or something in my Coke.
-
You know what I'm saying? So I'm thinking, well, I just better get another ride
-
home. And I think the Holy Ghost will lead us in the right way, don't you?
-
Let's pray tonight. Lord, we love you. Thank you for good things.
-
Thank you for good church, Lord. Just let us take sin serious and take living
-
for you serious and say we want to be in the right dimension.
-
We don't want to be in the area where we come to show it, Lord.
-
And we all do. We understand that we all come short sometimes.
-
We make mistakes. We don't even mean to, but we don't want to be there on purpose, God.
-
We want to be where we should be. We want to be diligent and walk with you and
-
be close to you and stay in the right areas and be what you want us to be.
-
Keep us, Lord. Bring us back to your house again. We love you and we thank you.
-
And everybody said, Amen. Amen.
-
Praise the Lord. Praise God.
-
