  1. Welcome to the Southwest Apostolic Church podcast.

  2. This podcast is brought to you by the Southwest Apostolic Church,

  3. located at 3161 South Rowena Street in Indianapolis, Indiana, 46241.

  4. The podcast will feature preaching

  5. from our pastor and from other ministers, so we hope you enjoy it.

  6. Without further ado, let's get right into it. God bless.

  7. I'm glad you're here tonight. So glad the Lord's here. There's a lot of liberty

  8. here tonight. It feels good in the house tonight.

  9. Praise God. If you have a Bible and you'd like to follow along,

  10. let's go to John, the 20th chapter.

  11. The book of John, chapter 20. And as I was praying tonight, the Lord thought about this tonight.

    John 20 chapter mention

  12. So it'll be fresh bread tonight, maybe, or it'll be one of those cakes that went flat in the oven.

  13. You never know. Praise the Lord.

  14. John 20 and verse 20.

  15. Amen. Well, let's go to 19.

  16. Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week,

  17. when the doors were shut, where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews,

  18. came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

  19. And when he had so said, he showed unto them his hands and his side.

  20. Then were his disciples glad when they saw the Lord.

  21. And then Jesus said to them again, Peace be unto you.

  22. So my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. Praise the Lord.

  23. And verse, let's go on down. We'll keep reading. But Thomas,

  24. verse 24, Thomas, one of the 12, was not with them when Jesus came.

  25. The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord.

  26. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails,

  27. and put my finger into the print of the nails,

  28. and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.

  29. And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them.

  30. Then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst,

  31. and said, Peace be unto you.

  32. And then he saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands.

  33. Reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side, and be not faithless, but believing.

  34. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

  35. And I want to take that little phrase right out of that verse 28 and preach about my Lord and my God.

  36. Would you pray with me one more time? Jesus, we love you, and we can't make it without you, O God.

  37. And we know that we trust you and lean on you tonight.

  38. So we ask you to be with us and help us with your word tonight,

  39. Jesus. So we need you. We can't make it without you.

  40. So help us tonight and let your word go out and do what needs to be done. In Jesus name. Amen.

  41. You may be seated. Praise the Lord.

  42. Jesus came into the room where the disciples were and he stood in the midst

  43. and he said unto them, Peace be unto you.

  44. Aren't you glad the Lord wants us to have peace tonight?

  45. Can I start out by just saying the Lord wants you to have peace tonight?

  46. Amen. Now, no doubt, you see, these men were in a room, and they were his disciples,

  47. and he had been captured, and he had been put on a so-called trial,

  48. and he had been crucified.

  49. And no doubt, these men were afraid. These men could have been afraid that someone was coming.

  50. You know, not only did they want and did crucify Jesus, but that they would

  51. come looking for them as his disciples or followers of Jesus.

  52. So no doubt they were afraid. But I'm glad when Jesus knew that they were afraid,

  53. he stepped into the room and said, Peace be unto you. Thank God for his peace tonight.

  54. Thank God for the peace of God. Somebody said it passes understanding.

  55. The peace that passes understanding. Sometimes our understanding is what gives us the turmoil.

  56. You know, we understand the situation.

  57. These men understood that Jesus was gone. They understood he'd been crucified.

  58. They understood the situation. Sometimes our understanding is not bad.

  59. It's our understanding that gives us the turmoil, the understanding of where

  60. we've been, the understanding of what's going on in our life,

  61. the understanding of the situation.

  62. But I'm glad there's a peace that passes understanding. Praise the Lord.

  63. Amen. I'm glad there's a peace that goes right on around our understanding.

  64. And you don't even know how you can have peace. you don't know how you would ever have it.

  65. But when Jesus touches you and helps you, he can give you peace.

  66. Thank God for the peace of God. Amen. He calls us to be blessed are the peacemakers.

  67. He doesn't want us having a bunch of strife and being a bunch of people that

  68. carry on and all that. He wants us to have peace.

  69. And let me say, in your situation, ask the Lord and he can give you peace. Amen.

  70. Praise the Lord. He stepped in there and he said, peace be unto you.

  71. And he breathed on them and said, Receive ye the Holy Ghost,

  72. and gave them some instructions. But Thomas was not there.

  73. Now, Thomas gets a bad rap sometimes.

  74. I think Thomas gets a bad rap. He just said, you know, gee, he said,

  75. except they said the Lord was here, and he said, You know what?

  76. He said, I don't believe it.

  77. Except I see his hands with the print of the nails and the print of the.

  78. Put my hand in the side where they put the sword in or the, the piercing with

  79. the spear. He said, I'm not going to believe it.

  80. And you know, we get, we call him doubting Thomas, but you know,

  81. Jesus taught them to doubt.

  82. He taught them to not believe everything they heard.

  83. He told them, he said, they're going to in the, you know, there's going to be

  84. times when they say, here's Christ and there's Christ. And he said, don't go after it.

  85. Thomas really wasn't being a bad guy. He was the one listening to what they said.

  86. He said, you know, I'm not going to, I'm just not going, let me say this tonight.

  87. Just don't believe everything you hear.

  88. Praise the Lord. And let me say this. Everybody claiming to be Christ is not Christ.

  89. In other words, everybody claiming to be doing something in the name of Jesus

  90. is not really doing it in the name of Jesus.

  91. There are many false Christs in the world today. Come on, somebody.

  92. And Thomas was not really being a bad guy. He was just doing what Jesus told

  93. him. And he said, I'm not going to believe it.

  94. Aren't you glad Jesus knows us. Aren't you glad he hears us?

  95. You know, wherever Jesus was at that time, he heard him, didn't he?

  96. Because he came back again.

  97. Aren't you glad he can come back the first time and say, peace be still,

  98. or peace be unto you? And then he came back the second time, and what did he say?

  99. Peace be unto you. Let's reach right now for some peace tonight.

  100. Lord, touch us with your peace. I feel this tonight.

  101. Before we go any further, somebody needs your peace tonight.

  102. God, we're in your house, and we're reaching for you right now.

  103. You know our hearts. You know our situations.

  104. You know our understandings giving us trouble, but we ask you,

  105. Lord, to give us peace right now.

  106. Move with your spirit of peace, O Lord, in Jesus' name. Hallelujah.

  107. Peace be unto you. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.

  108. Peace to you. Peace to you.

  109. Amen. He's speaking peace. Amen. Peace be still is what he told the water.

  110. Now, you know, if you study that out, this is a little sidetracked here.

  111. There were, let me get ahead of myself here. Let me kind of figure out what I'm doing.

  112. Thomas, when he saw the sides and he said unto him, my Lord and my God.

  113. So I want to talk about that a little bit tonight. And I want to talk to the

  114. first about the God. How many knows there is a God tonight?

  115. I said, there is a God. There is one supreme God.

  116. Praise the Lord. There is, the Bible says, God created the heavens and earth. Amen.

  117. And then we don't know where he come from. We don't know where, we don't know all that.

  118. There's something, you know, somebody said, if you, if there's no way,

  119. you know, sometimes questions, questions can give us turmoil too.

  120. Sometimes we can, you know, there are some questions as a human,

  121. we'll never get the answer to.

  122. You know that? We'll never get the answer to where did God come from?

  123. It's just not possible for us to get that answer. And let me say,

  124. in life, there are questions that we can ask, but we'll never get the answer to.

  125. But I'm glad God has the answers. And I'm glad He is God and He knows all about it. Praise the Lord.

  126. He knows our fears. He knows our problems. And there is a God tonight.

  127. And I'm glad tonight that Jesus is my God.

  128. I said, Jesus is my God.

  129. I said, Jesus is my God.

  130. When I think of the divine God and the great God and the ruler of the universe

  131. and the creator of the universe, let me say, I'm glad to know that his name is Jesus tonight.

  132. I said, I'm glad to know his name is Jesus.

  133. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. So when you think about God,

  134. you see, well, there's a lot of people that talk about God. They talk about deity.

  135. They talk about the supernatural. They talk about spiritual so-called things.

  136. You know, there's people that do all kinds of things in the name of spirituality,

  137. and they're seeking after that which is God, that which is divine.

  138. Let me tell you, if you're looking for something divine tonight,

  139. if you're looking for something supernatural tonight, let me point you to my

  140. God, and His name is Jesus.

  141. Jesus is my God tonight.

  142. He is the supernatural. He is the spiritual. Praise the Lord.

  143. He is the miracle worker. Praise the Lord. Woo! Hallelujah!

  144. Jesus Christ of the New Testament is the Jehovah of the Old Testament.

  145. Now, the water made me think of this. If you study it out and look in your Bible,

  146. where the Bible says that Jesus, there were names for God in the Bible.

  147. El Shaddai, Jehovah Jireh, different names.

  148. And if you look at what, now when Jesus stepped out on that boat,

  149. when he was asleep in the boat and the disciples were on the sea and the sea

  150. waves were roaring, and Jesus was asleep, and they woke him up,

  151. and he walked out to the front of that boat. Praise the Lord.

  152. And he looked at them, the waves, and the sea, and the storm,

  153. and he looked out there, and he said, peace, be still. Amen.

  154. He said, peace, be still, and those waves and the sea obeyed his voice.

  155. You know why? Because that was the voice of God right there.

  156. That was the voice of the almighty God speaking to the waves in the sea.

  157. See, when you think about Jesus,

  158. you got to understand he was a man just like you and I, but he was God.

  159. He was God. And sometimes he spoke as a man.

  160. You know, he said, I came to do the will of my father. He was speaking as a man.

  161. Sometimes he spoke as the son of God, as in the sense of the man,

  162. but he understood who he was.

  163. And then sometimes he, every once in a while he couldn't, he'd see,

  164. he did not come to be known as God.

  165. He didn't come necessarily to be known as the ruler of the world.

  166. He came to die for your sins and mine.

  167. That's why he came. When the Bible talks about he laid aside his divinity and

  168. all that, it means he did not come.

  169. The Bible says he thought it not robbery to be equal with God.

  170. It wasn't something he was trying to get a hold of. It wasn't something he wanted everybody to know.

  171. He did not come riding in a big

  172. Rolls Royce with a big banner over the top that said, this is your God.

  173. You know, big lights flashing. This is your God. This is your God. This is your God.

  174. He didn't do that. He come riding in on a donkey.

  175. He come into Jerusalem on a donkey, and he came as a lowly baby in the manger. Praise the Lord.

  176. Amen. Nobody even knew who he was. He was a baby. But I want to tell you,

  177. while he was laying in that manger, praise the Lord, That was the God of the universe.

  178. Praise the Lord. When that baby was born, God is with us. Hallelujah.

  179. God is with us. Praise the Lord. Amen. Amen. Amen. It wasn't just another baby being born.

  180. The God of eternity stepped into time. Praise the Lord.

  181. Now, I know it's a great mystery and the Bible talks about it. But let me say this.

  182. Let me tell you, if you want to pray to God and you don't know,

  183. you know, let me just go there. You know, sometimes they teach about the Father

  184. and the Son and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one.

  185. Let me just say, get rid of all that. When you want to pray,

  186. just pray to Jesus, and you've got it covered.

  187. Hey, I said, you pray to Jesus, and you've got it covered tonight, because He is God.

  188. And what I was going to say is, you follow that. Now, you can go back to the

  189. Old Testament and find the Scripture that tells us that it is God that rules the waves and the sea.

  190. You can go back to the Old Testament and find scriptures that tell you that

  191. it is God that is the ruler of the sea. Hallelujah.

  192. And Abraham called him Jehovah Jireh, the Lord will supply.

  193. Okay. So when Jesus is there and all these 4,000 people were there and they

  194. needed something to eat, it wasn't any accident.

  195. Jesus was trying to show these people who he was in one sense as the Messiah,

  196. who is the King of glory, the Lord of hosts.

  197. He is the King of glory. He did want them to know he was their Messiah, though.

  198. It was no accident, so here he is taking, they brought him five loaves and two

  199. fishes, and he starts breaking that bread.

  200. And he, Jehovah Jireh hands out another piece. The Lord will supply, the Lord will supply.

  201. So I feel like Thomas tonight. When I think about Jesus, he is my God.

  202. There is one God and his name is Jesus. Come on, somebody.

  203. So you can take all those names of God.

  204. He's my everything. That's good. But you could take all those names for God

  205. and you can find and follow those through.

  206. You know, Jesus, the miracles he did was illustrating who he was.

  207. And I'm glad to know who he is tonight. So Thomas, he said, my Lord and my God, he is my God.

  208. When I want something spiritual, when I want something supernatural,

  209. When I want something that's really going to be able to do something that nobody

  210. else can do or nothing else can do, I call on Jesus.

  211. Because sometimes we need that which is divine to move in our situation.

  212. We need a divine move of the Holy Ghost. How many believe that?

  213. We need a divine. Our country, our world needs a divine move of God.

  214. I said they need a divine move of God. They need a soup.

  215. We need a supernatural move from the almighty God.

  216. We need something that comes from the supernatural world and moves in our midst

  217. to get a hold of men, get a hold of women, shake their hearts,

  218. do miracles, see miracles, signs, and wonders.

  219. We need to see God moving in our midst.

  220. And I want to tell you, you know why the world doesn't get it?

  221. Because they're not calling on Jesus. That's why.

  222. If you want all those things, you talk to Jesus about it.

  223. You pray to Jesus about it. You ask Jesus to give you the revival.

  224. Ask Jesus to help you with your situation.

  225. Amen. Ask Jesus to help you because he is my God. I'm not looking to Buddha,

  226. Buddha, Buddha, Buddha.

  227. As Jeff Arnold says, I'm not looking for Buddha.

  228. We were in Hawaii and they had a.

  229. It was a beautiful place. It was at, get this, get this. This just dawned on me.

  230. But we went to a temple, a Buddha temple. But get this, the temple was at the graveyard.

  231. And wasn't that right, Sister Young? And that just dawned on me.

  232. I'm glad my, I'm telling you, God's temple's not a graveyard. Praise the Lord.

  233. Woo, amen. There's life in his tabernacles. Praise the Lord.

  234. There's peace and joy and life where he is

  235. but it was a beautiful place but it was Daniel

  236. took us he said you got to see this place and you go

  237. through this cemetery and you go down and it was this big building it looked

  238. like a something Japanese or something Asian and it was a big building and you

  239. and it was all open in the front and you had they had beautiful ponds and had

  240. them goldfish swimming around and all the flower I mean it was gorgeous I'll give him that,

  241. But you walk in there and you walk through and they had this big statue of Buddha in there.

  242. Just looked at it. But I want to tell you, that Buddha can't do the thing for you.

  243. That's just a dumb idol. And I say dumb in the sense he can't speak and he can't hear.

  244. He can't hear you. He can't hear you. He can't see you.

  245. That's just something that man has put Now, is there any supernatural force

  246. hooked to that? Oh, yeah.

  247. I didn't. You know, there's powers

  248. and there's rulers of darkness and principalities and all those things.

  249. Now, there's a spiritual aspect to that, but that ain't God.

  250. Let me say, that power does not supersede the power of my God.

  251. I said that power, whatever he has, he don't have no power over me.

  252. I just look at him and say, you know, and they had a little thing there.

  253. They had a little offering plate, didn't they, Ruthie? Didn't they have a little

  254. thing there where people,

  255. I don't know if you could put pieces of rice in there or something,

  256. and you could put it in there.

  257. Well, guess what? It just stayed there because Buddha couldn't eat it,

  258. but they offered it to him.

  259. You see, I'm not looking for Buddha as my God tonight. I'm not looking for anything.

  260. I'm not looking for Hare Krishna.

  261. I'm not looking for some so-called God. I'm talking about the only one true

  262. God, the one true and living God. And I'm here to tell you, his name is Jesus Christ.

  263. I said his name is Jesus Christ.

  264. Woo, praise the Lord. There is one Lord and there is one God.

  265. And let me throw this out there in the universe. There is a God.

  266. There is a God. This world needs to hear somebody stand up and say, there is a God.

  267. There is a creator of the universe.

  268. There is a divine being that knows all sees all hears all praise the lord there

  269. is a god praise god and you will

  270. answer to him one of these days you will answer to him one of these days.

  271. Thomas said, my Lord and my God. So Thomas saw him as his God.

  272. But he also, see, there's something else besides knowing him as your God. He got to be your Lord.

  273. You see, now let me get way out there. And maybe I don't want to get too far out there.

  274. You know, you get out on a limb, you fall off. But I don't want to get too far out there.

  275. But I want to tell you, see, Lord, let me look this up now. I love to study words.

  276. This Thomas said, my Lord and my God, that is in supreme and authority by implication

  277. like mister, a respectful title, the master,

  278. he to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power deciding your

  279. master and your Lord, the possessor and disposer of a thing,

  280. the owner, one who has control of the person, the master.

  281. You see, it's one thing to say Jesus is God, but is he your Lord tonight?

  282. I don't know about you, but he's my Lord tonight.

  283. I said he is Lord. He's my God and my Lord.

  284. You see, here it is in the nutshell. There is that which is divine.

  285. There is a supreme being. There is a supreme deity,

  286. okay, who has chosen to come in flesh and walk among us and die and pay the price for our sins.

  287. And that man that was born, his name is Jesus.

  288. And the Bible said God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself.

  289. So it lets us know God was manifest in the flesh, the Bible says.

  290. So then the Bible lets us know that Jesus died and rose again.

  291. And the Bible said that God has given him a name. okay?

  292. Deity, that which is supreme, has entrusted into that body, into that man, all authority.

  293. Am I making any sense here? I hope so.

  294. That man, Jesus, is our Lord.

  295. He is, when the Bible says that Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God,

  296. That means the right hand is the power hand. Most people are right-handed.

  297. I'm left-handed. My dad said, I've never seen a left-handed guy do nothing.

  298. Because when I was driving nails, I had to drive him funny, and everything I did was left-handed.

  299. He said, I've never seen a left-hander who could do nothing.

  300. But they say left-handed people are intelligent. I'll tell you that, though.

  301. But what it means is when it says Jesus is, one place says it's sitting at the

  302. right hand of God and another place standing at the, what that means is, oh, there is a God.

  303. There is deity, but he has chosen to manifest himself and let his power be known

  304. and let and be seen in Jesus Christ, that man. Amen. Hallelujah.

  305. Praise the Lord. He has chosen, there was one God, one mediator between God

  306. and man, the man, Christ Jesus.

  307. Okay? So it's what you're getting at. Now, God is God, and God is everywhere, and God is God.

  308. But when it comes to you and I, God is working in our lives and saving us and

  309. delivering us, and everything was done through that man, Jesus Christ.

  310. He is Lord of all. Praise the Lord. He is the Lord.

  311. He is my Lord. He is my God, you see. It's through him because he died.

  312. The Bible says that God has given him a name that is above every name.

  313. That at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow and every tongue confess that

  314. Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

  315. Praise the Lord. So when you worship Jesus, you're worshiping your Lord.

  316. When you worship Jesus, you're worshiping your God. Praise the Lord.

  317. Your goal, hallelujah, you are worshiping the God. He's your God.

  318. He's your Lord. He's your everything.

  319. He's your everything. Praise the Lord. He is our Lord and our God.

  320. But you see, God, you got to get it through your head here.

  321. I mean, not through your head like you can't get it through your head,

  322. but like thick head, get it through your head. I didn't mean it like that.

  323. But get it in your understanding that it is through.

  324. You see, the only God you'll ever see is Jesus Christ.

  325. The only God you'll ever see is your Lord Jesus.

  326. So when it comes to humanity and earth, somebody says, are there other planets

  327. out there with people on them?

  328. Who knows? I don't think there is, though. But I don't know everything.

  329. But I'll tell you what. If there, you know, because we talk about this stuff sometimes.

  330. Do you know the Bible does say that he left the ninety and nine to save the one?

  331. Maybe he's got 99 others out there that never fail. Maybe they didn't eat the fruit.

  332. I'm out there. I told you I was going to get way out there.

  333. But he left the 90. So God can be God, whatever.

  334. He can still do whatever he wants to be, whatever he wants to.

  335. But when it comes to you and I, when it comes to humanity, but see,

  336. here's the thing. Here's the thing.

  337. We, when we see Jesus, we see God.

  338. He's chosen to show himself unto us. Now, see, get this, though.

  339. We're going way out there. We don't went way out there to the other universes.

  340. Let's come on back just a little bit, though. All right?

  341. You were made in the image of God.

  342. So to God, to this divine supreme being, he had an image.

  343. He had a form in his mind. He knew what he looked like before he ever looked like it.

  344. Come on, somebody. Brother Young, you're way out there on the limb now.

  345. I'll tell you what, though.

  346. That's what the Bible says when it says all things were created by him,

  347. by Jesus Christ. It was through him, the Bible says.

  348. In other words, God knew what he looked like. He knew who he was.

  349. He knew what he was going to look like. And when he told Moses,

  350. said, who do I say sent me? He said, say that I am sent you.

  351. I am that I am. I will always be who I am. I am who I am. I am who I will be. I am who I am.

  352. And we say God became flesh. But to God, he didn't become nothing, and he wasn't already.

  353. This is crazy tonight, praise the Lord. But I'm going to tell you,

  354. I'm preaching about him being my Lord and my God.

  355. And he is my Lord and my God. But what I'm saying is, not only is he your God, he is our Lord.

  356. The world is good. See, there's one name that's above every name.

  357. And Jesus, after he resurrected in Matthew, he said, all power. Now, listen to this.

  358. All power in heaven and earth has been given unto me.

  359. If he's not the father, then the father has no power anymore.

  360. If he's not God, there is no God that has any power.

  361. Because Jesus said, all power in heaven and earth has been given unto me.

  362. Other words, he is the instrument to where God is going to work through.

  363. He is the revelation of the one true and living God to humanity. Praise the Lord.

  364. And if you want power, if you want God, you need Jesus.

  365. If you got a Lord, you need somebody you want to pray to, and you want to say,

  366. and let me say, if you got a master, you need to make him Jesus.

  367. And let me say, you got one, whether you know it or not. So,

  368. everybody's following somebody.

  369. Everybody in this world has a Lord, whether they know it or not.

  370. Their people are following their Lord.

  371. They are being led as servants.

  372. Whoever you yield your members to obey, the Bible says, you are a servant to that.

  373. So, the world is servant to all kind of lords.

  374. They're servant to Marlboro Lord, they're servant to Marijuana Lord,

  375. they're servant to whatever Lord, this Lord, that Lord, they're being led around by that.

  376. But I don't want to be led around by that. I want to be led around by Jesus.

  377. I want Jesus to be my Lord. Amen. I want to follow his will,

  378. not the will of the devil.

  379. I don't want to follow the devil's plan.

  380. I said, I don't want to follow the devil's plan. I want to follow Jesus's plan. Praise the Lord.

  381. Whatever Jesus tells me to do, That's what I want to do. I don't want to be led by the devil no more.

  382. I've been down that road. Most of us been down that road.

  383. Shoes untied. Most of us, pray I don't trip over it.

  384. Most of us know about that. We're led by our own flesh. We're led by our own

  385. desires. We're led by the power of the devil.

  386. Boy, that cigarette smells good. Oh boy, that whiskey, boy, that sounds good.

  387. You know, all that stuff. and you're led by that. It's like it's got you by

  388. the nose pulling you down the road.

  389. A hook in your nose, pulling you down the road. There's people who can't walk

  390. past the cigarette aisle.

  391. They want to, but they can't because they got another Lord.

  392. They got a Lord got them by the nose. There's guys and people tonight that they

  393. want to be free from drugs and alcohol, but you know what? They can't because

  394. they're following the wrong Lord.

  395. There's a Lord that's got a hold of them, but I'm preaching about the Bible

  396. talks about the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Hallelujah.

  397. If you got something you need to be free from, you talk to Jesus as your Lord

  398. and say, Lord, deliver me.

  399. Deliver me, Lord. I don't want to follow that no more. I want to follow you.

  400. I want Jesus to be my Lord. I don't want alcohol to be my Lord.

  401. I don't want drugs to be my Lord. I don't want false doctrine to be my Lord.

  402. I don't want anything to be my master but Jesus.

  403. Want him to be my master. I don't know about you, but I love my master.

  404. My master's a good master. Hallelujah. My master's been good to me.

  405. I remember I worked with a man, his name was Anthony. He was a black man and

  406. he was just, he was my buddy.

  407. And he went to grace when he was young. He knew all about apostolic,

  408. but he had a way of saying things.

  409. And he's talking about Reaganomics at work, you know, Reaganomics, the trickle-down.

  410. Reagan's theory was if the rich, you know, the people that own businesses make

  411. money, that'll trickle down.

  412. And they was talking about that, and Anthony was a black man,

  413. and that guy got a haircut every week.

  414. He talked about the emollients, and he put all this stuff on his face.

  415. He said, Jim, he said, you got to start with the astringent.

  416. I never heard of astringent. We didn't use astringent in Brightwood.

  417. We was lucky to have soap in Brightwood.

  418. But he said, you use the astringent and then you use the cleanser and then you

  419. wash your face because that cleans it all out, you know, and all that.

  420. So he had a certain way, but we was talking about, and you know what he said?

  421. He said, Jim, he said, trickle down been good to me.

  422. Trickle-down been good to him. But I'm going to tell you something.

  423. Trickle-down been good to me.

  424. Woo! Jesus has been good to me. My Lord has been good to me.

  425. Follow me, he said. Follow me. Follow me.

  426. Woo! And I'll make you fishers of men. Praise the Lord.

  427. Follow me, and I'll bless you. Follow me, and I'll bless you.

  428. Follow me, and I'll help you. Praise the Lord.

  429. You know, the world needs to claim Jesus as their Lord.

  430. We need a revival, and people understand. But see, they don't realize who their Lord is.

  431. They're following the wrong Lord. And it's so powerful.

  432. It's so powerful knowing who Jesus is.

  433. And it's so powerful because we realize the devil don't want you to use the name of your Lord.

  434. They can say any name they want to. But they say years ago, they had a man prayed

  435. at the 500 race, stood up and said the benediction.

  436. And he said, in Jesus' name. And they about went crazy.

  437. Oh, don't use that name. Oh, I don't want to hear that name.

  438. You can pray in the name of booty. You can pray in Muhammad's name,

  439. but don't pray in that name.

  440. Don't pray in that name. We don't want to hear that name. You can pray at the

  441. legislature, but don't say in Jesus' name.

  442. You know why? Because the devil knows there's one God, and he trembles.

  443. And the devil knows who the—and the devils and the demons knew who Jesus was.

  444. Oh, you come to torment us before our time, they said.

  445. They knew who Jesus was. And I'm glad tonight to know he is my Lord and my God.

  446. It's good to know he's God and it's good to know he's your Lord.

  447. But the question is tonight, is he really your Lord?

  448. Let's get ready to sing our song here. Is he really your Lord tonight?

  449. Is he really your master?

  450. Is he really the one in charge of your life?

  451. Is he really your owner tonight? Is he the one that has the control of your person?

  452. Is he the one that you respect and reverence the most?

  453. Is he a possessor, a potentate, a sovereign, a power?

  454. Is he the one you respect tonight? I respect him, don't you?

  455. I respect him for what he did for me. I said, so you see, the difference in

  456. terms is you can say God and it kind of explains everything.

  457. But when you look at Jesus as Lord, you're mainly looking at him as a human

  458. and you see what he's done for you.

  459. He paid the price for you. He paid the price for me.

  460. He died for me. He didn't have to die for me, but he did.

  461. So I don't have any problem saying, thank you, Lord. Thank you,

  462. Lord, for what you've done for me.

  463. So when we think about Jesus, don't just think about him as another good prophet.

  464. Don't just think about him as another good teacher. And there's people that

  465. think of Jesus like that.

  466. Thomas Jefferson believed in the teachings of Jesus.

  467. He thought they were supreme. Matter of fact, there is something called the

  468. Jefferson Bible, where Thomas Jefferson took the Gospels, put them in chronological

  469. order, all the happenings and the teachings of Jesus, but he took out the miracles.

  470. He didn't believe in the miracles. He thought Jesus would make a good teacher

  471. and maybe even a good Lord to follow, but he didn't think he was God.

  472. I'm glad tonight. No, he is my Lord and my God.

  473. Oh, hallelujah. Oh, hallelujah. He is my Lord and my God.

  474. So let's pray again tonight. We're going to sing another song. We're going to song.

  475. I don't think we have the words of this one. A couple of them,

  476. we don't have the words to yet, but I'm glad to know who he is tonight. Aren't you?

  477. So don't worry about it. When I get down to pray, do I pray to the Father?

  478. Do I pray to the Son? When you get down to pray, you just pray, Lord Jesus.

  479. Our father which art in heaven you pray to

  480. jesus you just think about you see

  481. because think about this now think about this when you think about god and you

  482. think about that which is divine and you think about who your lord is it's jesus

  483. and all you have to do is pray to him you don't have to figure out all this

  484. stuff that man's made up all you need to do is think about Jesus.

  485. He said, when you see me, you've seen the Father. Amen.

  486. The Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ. God is a spirit,

  487. not three spirits, but one spirit.

  488. The Spirit of Christ is the Holy Spirit. So when you get down to pray, don't worry about it.

  489. If you want that peace he's talking about, you just get down on your knees and you think about Jesus.

  490. Think about the creator of the world. You think about his divinity.

  491. You think about him being your God, and you think about him being your Lord,

  492. the one who died for you, the one who paid the price, and the one who is in charge of all things.

  493. The government shall, for unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given,

  494. and his name shall be called Wonderful,

  495. Counselor, the Mighty God, the everlasting Father, and the Prince of Peace,

  496. and the government shall be upon His shoulders.

  497. All things regarding humanity are in the hands of Jesus Christ, who as my Lord and my God.

  498. Let's get a song tonight. Go ahead.

  499. Anybody want to pray tonight? But Jesus can give you the peace you want.

  500. You just need to recognize Him as who He is tonight. Praise the Lord.

  501. Let's sing another song.

  502. Thank you for listening to our podcast. Southwest Apostolic Church is a place of refuge.

  503. If we can help you, we'd be glad to do it. Pastor's cell number 317-469-3100.

  504. If we can help you, we'd be glad to do it. God bless.
