The podcast will feature preaching,
-
from our pastor and from other ministers, so we hope you enjoy it.
-
Without further ado, let's get right into it. God bless.
-
The Holy Ghost in this house tonight Amen, I wonder if we could just talk to
-
the Lord right now All in our own way Come on, could you just communicate with the Lord right now?
-
Come on, let's just take a moment and feel after the Holy Ghost here In the
-
name of Jesus Hallelujah Come on, if you feel like lifting your hands,
-
could you lift your hands? If you feel like lifting your voice,
-
could you lift your voice? Hallelujah,
-
Come on, let's just feel after God for just a moment. Hallelujah,
-
Jesus.
-
Come on, I feel like telling somebody he knows right where you're at tonight.
-
Come on, he knows exactly what you're walking through in this house tonight.
-
You're not here by accident and God is not here by accident tonight.
-
But God has shown up in this place to help you.
-
Amen, God has shown up here to strengthen your spirit in this house.
-
Oh, in the name of Jesus, come on, let's just talk to him for just a moment longer right now.
-
Oh, Jesus, God, you're worthy, Lord.
-
Oh,
-
you're worthy, Jesus.
-
Hallelujah.
-
He has the answers tonight. Amen. He has the answers to your need, to your situation.
-
Amen. He knows and he cares tonight.
-
Hallelujah. Amen. man, there's a sweet touch of the Holy Ghost in this house.
-
And one thing that I have learned is that God never shows up anywhere on accident.
-
God never shows up anywhere by mistake, but God has come here tonight for a purpose.
-
And I believe he wants to touch someone in this house tonight.
-
Hallelujah. And if you'll just submit to what the Holy Ghost wants to do,
-
I mean, I believe that healing can take place.
-
Amen. I believe that deliverance can take place. Amen. There is no telling what
-
God can do when we yield to him as a body.
-
Amen. And surrender. Amen. And let God have his way in this service, in this place.
-
Amen. I'm so grateful to be in his presence. Amen. And to be with God's people.
-
Amen. The greatest people on earth. Hallelujah. I was glad when they said unto
-
me, David said, Amen, let us go to Southwest Apostolic Church Amen,
-
is anybody thankful to be in the house of the Lord tonight?
-
Hallelujah, Jesus. Amen. It is so good to be here. Amen. So thankful for the
-
God's presence. I want to give honor to Pastor Young and his wife.
-
Amen. I so greatly appreciate them.
-
My dad has told us many stories of their friendship in the younger days,
-
and they have all been good.
-
Amen. In Jesus' name, I appreciate Brother Young. He has come to Freetown,
-
where my home church is, many, many times, especially back in the day,
-
he would come and preach often.
-
And it was always a treat whenever Brother Young would come and preach for us.
-
I love to hear your pastor preach. He's an incredible preacher.
-
And I'm thankful for his voice. Sister Matthews, I give honor to you.
-
I remember we came several years ago when your husband was the pastor.
-
I don't really remember what the occasion was or why we were here,
-
but I remember being here and seeing you all. What a beautiful sanctuary.
-
Amen. What a beautiful place, a beautiful building. Amen. But all that is vain
-
if the Lord doesn't show up. But he's here tonight.
-
Amen. And he's here to help somebody. Amen. We're going to go to the word of
-
the Lord. I do feel like the Lord has placed something on my heart tonight.
-
The book of Isaiah chapter 28.
Isaiah 28 chapter mention
-
Isaiah chapter 28. And we'll start reading at verse number nine.
Isaiah 28 chapter mention
-
Isaiah chapter 28. We'll start reading at verse number nine.
Isaiah 28 chapter mention
-
We'll read just a few scriptures here in this chapter.
-
Very familiar portion of scripture here It says in Isaiah chapter 28 and verse
Isaiah 28 chapter mention
-
number 9 Whom shall he teach knowledge?
-
And whom shall he make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the
-
milk and drawn from the breast For precept must be upon precept,
-
Precept upon precept Line upon line, line upon line Here a little and there
-
a little For with stammering lips and another tongue.
-
Will he speak to this people.
-
To whom he said, this is the rest.
-
This, amen, this stammering lips, amen, in another tongue, this is the rest,
-
wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest,
-
and this is the refreshing, yet they would not hear.
-
Amen, for with stammering lips in another tongue, I mean, this is a prophecy,
-
amen, of the new covenant that God was going to have with his people.
-
And he said, for with stammering lips and another tongue, am I going to speak?
-
Am I going to communicate to this people?
-
Amen. And then he said, this is the rest.
-
Amen. What I feel in the Holy Ghost tonight, amen, to preach is simply those
-
four words right there. This is the rest.
-
I believe somebody is going to leave this house, amen, with rest in your spirit tonight.
-
Amen. Could we bind together for just a moment? And could we all across this
-
house, could we all just lift our voice and pray right now? Lord,
-
in the name of Jesus, we thank you, Lord, for visiting us with your presence already in this house.
-
And we pray right now, God, that your perfect will would be accomplished in
-
the remainder of this service.
-
I pray, God, that you would strengthen, Lord, every individual that is under
-
the sound of my voice, God.
-
You know, Lord, every weary saint that has walked into this place tonight.
-
And I pray, Lord, that you would give somebody rest that they need in the Holy Ghost, Lord.
-
We thank you for what we feel in this house. We thank you, God,
-
for what you're going to continue to do in this place, Lord.
-
We put this service in your hands right now. God, have your way.
-
We're going to give you the praise, honor, and glory for it.
-
Amen. Let's clap our hands to the Lord before we're seated in Jesus' name.
-
Oh, you're worthy, God. Hallelujah, Jesus.
-
Amen. If you're going to preach with me, you can be seated in Jesus' name.
-
If you're not going to preach with me, just shout amen throughout the service. We'll be all right.
-
Amen. I'm so grateful to be in God's house tonight.
-
I mean, as I was praying for this message, amen, I began to think about how
-
important rest is for our bodies.
-
Hallelujah. I began to do a little research on why rest is so important for us.
-
Without rest, the body literally is unable to recover.
-
Doctors say that lack of rest can lead to fatigue, it can lead to irritability,
-
anxiety, weakened immunity, poor memory, and even heart problems over time.
-
When people go too long without sleep, their judgment becomes impaired,
-
they become emotional, frustrated, overwhelmed, and unable to think clearly.
-
Rest restores strength. Even athletes especially understand this.
-
You can train every day, but if you never recover, if you never take time to
-
rest your body, eventually your body will break down.
-
Amen. Rest affects every part of us. Without rest, physically,
-
our bodies will begin to weaken. And without rest, mentally, our minds become foggy.
-
And without rest emotionally, small things suddenly begin to feel very heavy.
-
Some people may think that rest is laziness, but that is not true at all.
-
As a matter of fact, God designed the body to need rest.
-
And God established rest from the very beginning of creation.
-
A person can survive a while without food.
-
But prolonged lack of sleep will eventually begin shutting the body down. Amen.
-
Exhaustion changes how you see life. When you don't have any rest,
-
problems suddenly feel bigger and pressures feel heavier and fear feels stronger.
-
Amen. Rest is something that is extremely important for our physical bodies.
-
Amen. Some of you men know what I'm talking about. We know how dangerous it
-
is when our wives don't get sleep.
-
Amen. Can I get a witness in the house of the Lord tonight?
-
Amen. We understand tonight that rest is very important for our physical bodies,
-
but I've not come to preach to you tonight simply about a physical rest,
-
but I believe that there is a rest from God.
-
I believe there is a spiritual rest that God wants to give some people in this place tonight.
-
Amen. There have been people that have walked into these doors that have been
-
burdened down by some problems that are going on in your life tonight. Amen.
-
Burdened down maybe by some financial struggles or family problems or turmoils in your mind.
-
But I've come to tell somebody, God wants to give you rest in your spirit tonight.
-
Hallelujah, Jesus. God does not want you to leave the same way that you came. Amen.
-
God does not want you to walk out of these doors the same way that you walked in.
-
But God wants to lift some burdens. I feel that in the Holy Ghost.
-
God wants to lift some burdens off of some people's shoulders here in this house tonight.
-
Hallelujah, Jesus. And man, the scripture that we read in Isaiah chapter 29,
Isaiah 29 chapter mention
-
it said, For precept must be upon precept, line upon line.
-
Hallelujah. Here a little and there a little. For with stammering lips and another
-
tongue is God going to speak to this people,
-
to whom he said, This is the rest, wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest,
-
and this is the refreshing, yet they would not hear.
-
And then this portion of Scripture in Isaiah chapter 28 says.
Isaiah 28 chapter mention
-
Is a prophecy of what was to come, amen. It is a prophecy of the Holy Ghost,
-
the Spirit of God that God was going to pour out upon his people, amen.
-
He said with stammering lips and another tongue, will he speak to this people,
-
amen. He said, this is how I am going to speak to my people.
-
This is going to be my way of communication with my people. It is going to be by the Holy Ghost.
-
And when we enter into that place where God begins to speak through us in a
-
language that we do not understand, amen, by stammering lips and another tongue.
-
Hallelujah. When we enter into that place where God is speaking through us, what are we doing?
-
We are entering into a place of rest. We are entering into a place of refreshment.
-
Hallelujah. Entering into a place, hallelujah, where our spirits can be renewed
-
and restored in the Holy Ghost.
-
Hear me tonight. Just as important as physical rest is for our bodies,
-
spiritual rest is for your soul.
-
You can only go so long without physical rest before your body begins to shut down.
-
Likewise, you can only go so long in your walk with God.
-
Hallelujah, without connecting to God's Spirit, without connecting to the Holy
-
Ghost, without entering into that place of rest before your spiritual soul will
-
begin to weaken and shut it.
-
But God wants to give somebody that rest tonight.
-
God wants to give somebody that rest, that refreshment in this house tonight.
-
Isaiah chapter 59,
Isaiah 59 chapter mention
-
in verse 20 and 21, is another prophecy of the new covenant that God was going to have with his people.
-
It says in Isaiah chapter 59 and verse 20 and 21, listen to these words,
Isaiah 59 chapter mention
-
and the Redeemer shall come to Zion and unto them that turn from transgression
-
in Jacob, saith the Lord.
-
Then he says, as for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord,
-
my spirit that is upon thee and my words which I have put in thy mouth.
-
Hallelujah. Shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor the mouth of thy seed,
-
nor out of the mouth of thy seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and forever.
-
Here we see a prophecy of the new covenant that God was going to have with his people.
-
He said, And this is going to be my covenant that I have with them.
-
My spirit that I have put upon them,
-
and my words which I have put in their mouth shall not depart out of their mouth,
-
nor out of the mouth of their seed, nor out of the mouth of their seed,
-
saith the Lord, from henceforth and forever." Notice
-
there is a correlation between God placing his spirit upon us and God putting his words in our mouths.
-
Hallelujah john chapter 3 verses 5 through 8 says jesus answered verily verily
-
i say unto thee except a man be born of water,
-
and of the spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of god,
-
that which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the spirit
-
is spirit then he says marvel not or question not that i've said unto you you
-
must be born again hallelujah.
-
Then verse 8 goes on and begins to describe what happens to every individual
-
that is born of the Spirit.
-
It says, Because the wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound
-
thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth. Hallelujah.
-
That is born of the Spirit.
-
Hallelujah. Notice, hallelujah, in verse 8, he describes what happens to every
-
individual that is born of the Spirit. It says the wind, which is pneuma in
-
the Greek, it literally means the Spirit of God.
-
It's the Holy Ghost. It's God's Spirit. The Spirit of God blows where it lists it.
-
And then it says, and you hear the sound thereof.
-
That word sound is phone in the Greek. It is only translated as sound eight
-
times in the Bible, but it is translated as voice 131 times in the Bible.
-
And so the Spirit of God blows where it listeth. And whenever the Spirit of
-
God blows, you hear a voice.
-
Hallelujah. Thereof, you cannot tell where it's coming from or where it's going.
-
And so is everyone that is born of the Spirit. And may I tell somebody tonight,
-
this is what happens to every individual that is born of the Spirit.
-
You do not receive the Holy Ghost by simply saying a sinner's prayer or simply
-
believing on him or calling on his name.
-
No, my friend, whenever God fills you with the Holy Ghost, God will begin to
-
speak through your voice in a language that you do not understand with stammering
-
lips and another tongue.
-
Is he going to speak to this people?
-
Hallelujah. Notice it's all about being born again.
-
Whenever a baby is born, the first thing that baby does when it comes out of
-
that womb is it begins to make some type of noise.
-
It does not know the noise that it is making. It doesn't understand the noise
-
that it is making, but it is the natural birthing process that that baby will
-
begin to cry out with its voice whenever it is born.
-
Likewise, whenever the Spirit of God is born on the inside of us,
-
you know what happens? The Spirit of God will begin to speak through us.
-
A noise will begin to be uttered through us, and it is the Holy Ghost.
-
Hallelujah, Jesus. He that believes on me, the Bible says, as the Scripture
-
has said, out of his belly is going to flow what?
-
River of living water.
-
Hallelujah. Speaking of rivers, I went to that water fountain.
-
I didn't know how strong that water fountain was before church.
-
And I felt like I was swimming whenever I hit that. It went all over me.
-
Felt like I was in a river. Hallelujah.
-
But out of his belly, the Bible says, it's going to flow rivers of living water.
-
This spake he of the Holy Ghost, of the Spirit of God, that they which believe
-
on me, as the Scripture has said, should receive.
-
Acts chapter 2 verses 1 through 4 says, when the day of Pentecost was fully.
-
They were all gathered together in one accord and in one place.
-
And when the Holy Ghost showed up, it said, Suddenly there came a sound from
-
heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
-
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as a fire, and it sat upon
-
each of them. And they were all filled.
-
They were all filled with the Holy Ghost. And what happened when they were filled
-
with the Holy Ghost? They began to speak.
-
Hallelujah. the Holy Ghost began to speak through them, through their voice.
-
They began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit of God gave them the utterance.
-
Whenever the wind, whenever the Spirit of God blew into that place,
-
hallelujah, where they were gathered together, 120 of them in the upper room,
-
there began to be a sound that filled the room, and they began to speak with
-
other tongues as God gave them utterance.
-
The wind began to blow in that place, and there began to be a voice.
-
Hallelujah. The wind blows where it listeth, and you hear the voice there of
-
what was it? It was the voice of the Holy Ghost.
-
They were being born of the Spirit.
-
Just like Isaiah chapter 59 verse 20 said,
-
my spirit is going to be placed upon them, and whenever I place my spirit upon
-
them, I'm going to put my words in their mouth." It was a fulfillment, amen, of a prophecy
-
of the new covenant that God was going to have with His people.
-
He's going to put His Spirit upon them, and He's going to put His words in their mouth.
-
Verse 37, Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart and said
-
unto Peter, and to the rest of the apostles, men and brethren, what shall we do?
-
Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized, every one of you,
-
in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins,
-
and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
-
Then he said, For this promise is unto you and to your children and to all that
-
are far off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
-
Notice the correlation between Isaiah 59, 21 and Acts 2, 39.
-
Isaiah 59, 21 says, As for me, this is my covenant with them,
-
saith the Lord, my spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in your mouth.
-
Then it says, Shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy
-
seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and forever.
-
Amen. We have to understand tonight, Peter, the apostle of Jesus Christ,
-
knew and understood and studied the Old Testament Bible.
-
And I believe that whenever Peter saw that God's Spirit was placed upon these
-
people and God's words were put in their mouth, he began to understand,
-
hallelujah, that this promise, this covenant was not just for them.
-
Hallelujah. But it was for the generations after them.
-
Amen. It was not going to depart out of their mouth, nor out of the mouth of
-
their seed, nor out of the mouth of their seed seed.
-
So Peter could boldly declare, my friend.
-
Even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
-
Amen. I'm thankful on this Sunday evening in 2026 that God is still pouring out His Spirit.
-
God has not stopped pouring out His Spirit. God is still filling people with
-
the gift of the Holy Ghost, fulfilling His new covenant, placing His Spirit upon them, and putting
-
His words in our mouth.
-
Hallelujah. May I say, if you haven't been filled with the Holy Ghost,
-
you can be filled tonight.
-
Amen. God is still pouring it out, and the Holy Ghost is for you.
-
But everything that has been said up to this point has been laying a foundation
-
for what I feel to talk to us on for just a few more moments. Hallelujah.
-
In Titus chapter 3, verses 3 through 5, says, For we ourselves,
-
who also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving diverse lusts
-
and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.
-
But after that in Titus 3, 4, that the kindness and love of God,
-
our Savior, toward man appeared.
-
Not by works of righteousness, which we have done. Listen to this.
-
But according to his mercy, he saved us. Then it says how he saves us.
-
By the washing of regeneration, which literally is translated new birth baptism.
-
And renewing of the Holy Ghost.
-
Notice it does not say infill. Hallelujah.
-
But it says that we are saved by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost.
-
Amen. I am thankful tonight that I was filled with the Holy Ghost at an age of nine years old.
-
Amen. I'm thankful for everybody in here that was filled with the Holy Ghost.
-
I don't know how long it was ago. Maybe you were a child.
-
Amen. Maybe it was many years ago or maybe it's been recent. Hallelujah.
-
But if we are going to be saved, it's going to be because there is a continuous
-
renewal of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
-
It has to go beyond a one-time infill of God's Spirit.
-
And we have to begin to be renewed in the Spirit of God.
-
I am preaching to individuals under the sound of my voice that have walked into
-
this house tonight who are in need of a fresh touch of the Holy Ghost.
-
I'm preaching to people here who have walked into this place in need of entering
-
into a place of rest, spiritually, in your mind and in your heart.
-
Maybe you have walked here tonight. Maybe you've walked into this place and
-
everything is perfectly fine in your life.
-
Amen that is okay but there are some people amen who are weary in their walk
-
with god in this house amen there are some people who have walked into this place
-
burdened down by the cares of life burdened down by family problems burdened down by
-
financial problems burdened down by stress
-
and worry and fear amen burdened down by shame burdened down by guilt burdened
-
down by depression Burdened by your addictions.
-
Burdened by your struggles that maybe nobody else knows about.
-
Burdened down by sicknesses and health issues. Burdened down by the battles
-
that are taking place in your mind. But I believe that tonight God wants to
-
give somebody rest in the Holy Ghost.
-
Hallelujah, Jesus. Amen. I believe God is going to give you the strength that
-
you are needing in this house tonight.
-
Hallelujah, Jesus. Amen. It
-
is not the will of God that you leave here the same place that you came.
-
I said it is not the will of God that you leave here the same way that you came.
-
Hallelujah. But it is the will of God that you walk out of this place.
-
Amen. Change. It is the will of God that you walk out of this place.
-
Amen. empowered by the Holy Ghost with rest in your spirit, being refreshed by the Spirit of God.
-
Hallelujah. Can we talk to the Lord right now for just a moment?
-
Oh, in the name of Jesus. Hallelujah, Jesus.
-
Come on, that's it. God wants to give you rest tonight. God knows the weariness in your mind.
-
God knows the struggles, come on, that you are facing right now.
-
And God wants to give you rest in this place tonight.
-
Come on, when was the last time you prayed until you entered into a place of
-
rest in the Holy Ghost where it wasn't your words coming out anymore,
-
but the Holy Ghost was speaking through you and you no longer cared about the time.
-
And you no longer cared about what was going on around you.
-
You no longer cared about where you were going to eat after service,
-
but all you were focused on, what was happening in that moment.
-
Amen. God wants to take somebody to that place tonight where you're praying in the Holy Ghost.
-
Amen. And you've forgotten about your surroundings, and he takes you to that
-
secret place where he begins to change you.
-
He begins to heal you. He begins to transform and renew your mind tonight.
-
Oh, come on. He wants to give you rest for your soul. He wants to give you rest
-
for your weariness tonight.
-
Hallelujah, Jesus. Be not weary, my friend, in well-doing.
-
Be not weary, my friend, in well-doing. For in due season, you're going to reap.
-
Come on. There might be a weariness that has settled upon you,
-
but God wants to lift that weariness off of you tonight.
-
God wants to give you strength to keep fighting, to keep pushing,
-
to keep pressing on so that you can endure unto the end.
-
Hallelujah. Romans chapter 12, verses 1 and 2 says, I beseech you therefore, brethren.
-
By the mercies of God that you present your bodies a living sacrifice,
-
holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
-
And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of
-
your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
-
Amen. I feel like there are some people here tonight that are feeling the pressures
-
of this world upon you to conform.
-
Come on. Maybe the enemy has been bombarding your voice.
-
Amen. Bombarding your ears with his lies. Amen. And temptations and all these
-
things. Trying to get you to conform. Maybe you've been feeling,
-
amen, anxiety like you've never felt it before.
-
Pressures upon your shoulders. Amen. Stress and fear and worry that you just
-
feel like you can't escape.
-
Tonight, God wants to take you to a place of transformation,
-
but it's going to happen by the renewing of your mind.
-
It's going to happen when you make up in your mind. I'm going to pray until my mind is renewed.
-
I'm going to pray until something begins to take place in my spirit.
-
I'm going to pray until a transformation begins to take place.
-
Hallelujah, Jesus. Hallelujah, Jesus. Oh, hallelujah, Jesus.
-
Romans 8 and 26 says, Likewise, the Spirit itself also helpeth our infirmities.
-
For we know not what we should pray for as we help, but the Spirit maketh intercession
-
for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
-
And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what he is, the mind of the Spirit,
-
because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
-
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God and
-
to them who are called according to his purpose.
-
Tonight, maybe you don't even know the words that you need to.
-
But I want to tell you, you don't even have to, because the Holy Ghost already
-
knows exactly where you are.
-
Hear me. The Holy Ghost knows exactly what you are walking through.
-
It knows the burdens, hallelujah, that you have walked into this place carrying.
-
Maybe you haven't told anybody else.
-
Come on, maybe you've been smiling all week, but on the inside,
-
you're weary and you're worn. I want you to know God knows that.
-
Hallelujah. And you are in the right place tonight because God has shown up
-
here in this house and he wants to renew your weary spirit.
-
Come on, you may have walked in here with weariness in your soul,
-
weariness in your mind, but God wants to take you to a place of rest where he
-
begins to speak through you and he begins to edify you.
-
He begins to strengthen your weary soul.
-
The Holy Ghost knows you're in first. The Holy Ghost knows your struggles.
-
And when you begin to pray in the Holy Ghost, it will begin to make intercession on your behalf.
-
It will begin to make intercession for you. You don't need the right words.
-
You don't have to have, amen, the exact words. But if you will just begin to
-
worship God until the Holy Ghost is praying through you, God will begin to help
-
you, and God will begin to strengthen you tonight.
-
Building up yourselves, the Bible says, on your most holy faith. How?
-
Praying in the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah, Jesus. This is how you're going to build yourself up.
-
This is how you're going to overcome. This is how you're going to be strengthened tonight.
-
It's going to be by praying until the Spirit of God begins to pray through you
-
and strengthening you tonight. Hallelujah, Jesus.
-
Hallelujah. Amen. Let's talk to the Lord for just a moment right now.
-
Hallelujah, Jesus. God, in
