  1. This is Ronald Hopkins, and thank you for joining the Life Center Church.

  2. We've been talking about wounded.

  3. And if you all remember, back in 2025, the Lord instructed me to talk to you all about things in 2026 so that your life won't look like 2025.

  4. You will be completely different in 2026 if you take heed and you act on what you hear in 2026.

  5. And so he led me to minister on this subject of wounded.

  6. And this is part seven.

  7. So I definitely want to encourage you if this is your first time, or if you've not joined us, or you're online and you have not heard part six, part five, part four, part three, part two, and part one.

  8. I would encourage you to go back and listen to it.

  9. Or if you have heard it, then you go back and you listen to it again.

  10. Faith comes by hearing.

  11. So the more and more you hear a particular subject, the more and more you have confidence in what God has said and what God can do for you.

  12. Now let's go back to Psalm number 147 because that and along with Psalm 109 have been our foundation text.

  13. So Psalm 147, stanza number three says, He healed the broken in heart, and he binded up their wounds.

  14. Psalm number 109, stanza number 22 says, For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded.

  15. My heart is wounded within me.

  16. And so just in review, this word wound means an injury to the heart or soul caused by painful experiences that damage a person's identification, emotions, beliefs, or relationships.

  17. So this morning we're going to talk about the mother room.

  18. The mother room.

  19. Now go to Isaiah 66.

  20. Let's start there because I'm going to show you God's idea and God's purpose and God's intent of a mother.

  21. Come on.

  22. Isaiah 66, verse number 13 says, I will comfort you there in Jerusalem as a mother comforts her child.

  23. So we can see from this scripture that the responsibility, the God-given responsibility of a mother is to provide comfort.

  24. A mother's responsibility is to nurture her child or her children, and a mother's responsibility, given to her by God, she is supposed to provide emotional security to her children.

  25. So a mother should provide comfort.

  26. A mother should nurture.

  27. And a mother should provide emotional security.

  28. Now, let me give you a definition of the word mother room.

  29. It's a place, again, it's not a it's not necessarily a room, although people can be trapped in this room.

  30. So a place in the heart where a person's emotional security, nurture, comfort, acceptance, and a sense of belonging are formed through the influence of a mother or a mother figure.

  31. So it's a place in a child's heart where emotional security is now formed.

  32. It's a place in a child's heart where on the inside they are comforted.

  33. On the inside they are nurtured.

  34. On the inside, they have a sense of I belong.

  35. Not on the outside, not from people.

  36. It's happening in their heart.

  37. That they know that they are accepted, not by people, but what their mother is establishing in their hearts.

  38. Now, it's a place where a child first learns.

  39. Notice they first learn this: how to receive love.

  40. They don't learn it because they got involved with the boy.

  41. That becomes a problem.

  42. They learn how to express their emotions in healthy ways.

  43. They learn it from their mother.

  44. They learn how to express their emotions.

  45. So if it's not developed, you can grow up as a woman or a man with an attitude.

  46. Popping off on people.

  47. Somewhere there was some neglect.

  48. It's a place where they build healthy attachments.

  49. This will explain why you see people in unhealthy relationships.

  50. It's a place where they learn how to give and receive comfort.

  51. It's a place where they experience compassion and they are empathetic to people.

  52. So when this room is healthy, it produces emotional stability.

  53. It produces confidence.

  54. It produces healthy relationships.

  55. Because when it is produced, you won't get into a damaged relationship.

  56. You will recognize somebody already that's damaged.

  57. In this room, you will learn how to be loved, and then you will learn how to demonstrate love.

  58. But in this room, when a person is wounded, you'll see insecurity.

  59. You'll see the fear, the fear, the fear, the fear of rejection, the fear of rejection.

  60. You will see unhealthy attachments.

  61. You will see people pleasing.

  62. You will see manipulation.

  63. You will see anxiety.

  64. Then you will see this is an area where people have a difficult time trusting others, and this is interesting.

  65. You have trouble setting boundaries in your life.

  66. So then people take advantage of you.

  67. Then you have no standard.

  68. And because you have no standard, you compromise.

  69. And because you compromise, you settle.

  70. And then you just take anything.

  71. And now they treat you the what you settled for.

  72. Because you didn't have any confidence in yourself, so now you got involved with somebody who was overconfident, and then their responsibility was to damage your confidence.

  73. Because you then come to church and say, Praise the Lord.

  74. But you in hell at home.

  75. Somebody got to talk about this stuff.

  76. So today we're going to look at an individual by the name of Rebecca.

  77. God's goal in this entire series is for his children to understand the wound.

  78. The lie.

  79. The agreement.

  80. And then the behavior.

  81. What wounded you?

  82. What lie did you believe?

  83. How did you get into agreement with that lie?

  84. And now your behavior shows all three.

  85. Then you can't figure out what's wrong with you.

  86. Somewhere along the line in your life, you've allowed something or somebody to wound you.

  87. And it wasn't a person.

  88. So now the issue becomes you blame the person.

  89. It was the enemy who used the person.

  90. So let's go to Genesis chapter 25 and let me set the background of the story because Isaac married Rebecca, and Isaac is Abraham's son.

    Genesis 25 chapter mention

  91. If you all remember Abraham, Father Abraham.

  92. It sounds like some people grew up in children's church.

  93. And so he married this woman by the name of Rebekah.

  94. And when you look at the back job of the story, she could not have children.

  95. So the man of God, ooh, Lord, the man of God went to God on behalf of his spouse.

  96. He understood that he was a keeper of the house.

  97. He understood that he was a watchman.

  98. He understood that he was a protector.

  99. So there was an issue in his household.

  100. He didn't just stand by and let the enemy come in.

  101. I got a lot of amen from ladies, but I didn't hear not one amen from a man.

  102. I didn't hear not one.

  103. Not one.

  104. He didn't allow the enemy to come in.

  105. I need a bigger amen from the man on that.

  106. So he went to the Lord to talk to the Lord about the issue that was happening in his wife.

  107. And the Lord heard him.

  108. That's a lot right there.

  109. And as a result of him petitioning or standing in the gap for his wife, praying for his spouse, praying for his spouse.

  110. Praying for his wife.

  111. Praying for his wife.

  112. The Lord heard him, answered his prayer, and she became pregnant.

  113. Prayer does work.

  114. Now, let's pick up the story in verse number 22.

  115. I'm going to read it from the amplified.

  116. It says in Genesis chapter 25, but the children struggled together.

    Genesis 25 chapter mention

  117. Wait, wait, wait, wait.

  118. Not only did God give them one child, gave them double.

  119. So the children struggled together within her, kicking and shoving one another.

  120. And she said, If it is so that the Lord has heard our prayers, then why is this happening on the inside of me?

  121. Why are my children like kicking and why are they fighting each other?

  122. Watch this.

  123. And the Lord said to her, The founders of two nations are in your womb.

  124. God has a plan for babies.

  125. You better stop listening to the world.

  126. God already established what they were called to do.

  127. Notice, he already established what the people, he calls them people, not a fetus.

  128. That's so good.

  129. That's so good.

  130. The founders of two nations are in your womb.

  131. Notice they were called.

  132. They were called.

  133. So God has called everybody for a particular assignment.

  134. And the separation of two nations is begun.

  135. It started in your body.

  136. Watch this prophetic word.

  137. The one shall be stronger than the other.

  138. And the older, he says, shall now serve the younger.

  139. Now you gotta understand why the Lord said this.

  140. The Lord will go against the culture.

  141. The culture during that time was the eldest had the blessing.

  142. The elders would turn around and get a double portion.

  143. The eldest would then turn around and he would almost be the matriarch of the family, not your grandma.

  144. We've been doing stuff out of tradition, out of culture.

  145. Where is that at?

  146. My grandmother was out of order.

  147. And unfortunately, what was being raised was women who controlled their families.

  148. So God goes against the culture.

  149. So he was very prophetic in what he said.

  150. Yeah, it's coming out strong today.

  151. Esau should have had everything.

  152. God will interrupt your plan.

  153. You may have one way that you thought you were supposed to go.

  154. He'll interrupt your stuff.

  155. He'll shake some things up.

  156. He'll do something different.

  157. Notice what God's plan was.

  158. The younger would be in charge.

  159. And the oldest would turn around and serve.

  160. Go to chapter 27.

  161. He will reverse what the culture calls normal.

  162. Genesis 27, verse number one.

  163. One day when Isaac was old and turning blind, he called for Esau, the older son, and said, My son, yes, father, Esau replied, I'm an old man now, Isaac said, and I don't know when I may die.

  164. So take your bow and your quiver full of arrows and go out into the open country to hunt some wild game for me.

  165. Prepare my favorite dish and bring it here for me to eat.

  166. Then I will pronounce the blessing that belongs to you, my firstborn son, before I die.

  167. And here's where things get interesting.

  168. But Rebekah, Rebecca, she overheard what Isaac had said to his son.

  169. So when Esau left to hunt for the wild game, she then said to her son Jacob, listen, I overheard your father say to Esau, bring me some wild game and prepare me a delicious meal, then I will bless you in the Lord's presence before I die.

  170. Watch what she says.

  171. Now she probably said it with an attitude, too.

  172. Listen to me and do exactly what I told you to do.

  173. Everything changed because she overheard something.

  174. Listen, the promises of God, the Bible says, are yes and amen.

  175. And she was sure of that because if you go back to Genesis 25, you will see what God promised, what we just read.

  176. She was sure of that.

  177. But her response to what God said didn't line up.

  178. Listen.

  179. She was sure of the promise, but her response didn't line up with what God said.

  180. She was sure of what God said, but her response did not agree with what God said.

  181. So she missed it.

  182. Listen to this, because this is exactly how he gave it to me.

  183. She missed it because she stopped trusting the process of how and what God was doing.

  184. That's good.

  185. The process.

  186. You got the word, but you don't trust his process.

  187. What is the method, or how is God going to do what he does because he promised me this?

  188. And when we don't understand his methods, his ways of doing what he does, we will do exactly what she did.

  189. Use fleshly methods to accomplish a spiritual purpose.

  190. She believed in the promise, but she struggled to trust his way of doing it.

  191. And what happened is fear crept in, and fear became louder than the voice of God.

  192. So let me ask you a question.

  193. Has fear become louder than what God has already told you?

  194. Because with God there is the will, and there is his way.

  195. So he gives you his will, which is his word, and then there's a specific way in which God does everything.

  196. And what I've learned, he doesn't need your help.

  197. God is not only interested in where you are right now, God is interested in the way that you will take in order to get to where he wants you to be at.

  198. You gotta realize the enemy cannot steal any promise from God.

  199. That's good.

  200. That's good.

  201. What he will do is he will attack your confidence.

  202. If he would have done it, he should have done it with Jesus.

  203. But he couldn't.

  204. So now you got all these little Jesuses running around.

  205. Thank you for that.

  206. You swore to say, Yeah, that's me, that's me, that's me.

  207. So he'll attack your confidence.

  208. So what is the wound?

  209. Unhealthy attachment to Jacob.

  210. Because when you go back and you reread Genesis 25 and 26, you will see that both Isaac and Jacob, or Isaac and Rebekah, had favoritism.

  211. They favored one child.

  212. They treated one child different than the other.

  213. Favoritism is showing unequal affection, attention, and trust to someone over another person.

  214. And believe it or not, favoritism will divide your household.

  215. You could treat your spouse better than your child.

  216. Very dangerous.

  217. Because favoritism makes love feel like it's conditional.

  218. That you have to do something to earn a parent or your spouse's love.

  219. And it creates an unhealthy attachment either to your spouse or to your children.

  220. Okay?

  221. Verse number thirty one.

  222. It says, from that time on, giving you chapter and verse, because of what was done, Esau hated Jacob.

  223. Brothers hating each other because of parents.

  224. Because of what you said.

  225. How you treated them.

  226. How you did for one, but you didn't do for the other.

  227. And it's dangerous because what happens is that when a father has a son, he'll treat the son differently than he would his daughter.

  228. I gotta treat him like this because he needs to be a man.

  229. But what you don't understand is you're showing him differently than you are his sister.

  230. Yeah, there are certain things you are supposed to teach a young man.

  231. There are things you're supposed to teach your daughter, but there should be no separation.

  232. If it's hard for him, it should be hard for her.

  233. I'm giving her this, but you make him work.

  234. And you don't make her work.

  235. That's favoritism.

  236. What you don't realize, here's a motto right here that they will get to the place if God doesn't reveal this to them, they will unconsciously will not like you or their sibling.

  237. Notice I'm reading a B-I-B-L-E.

  238. And because of that, the child now is wounded, and the parent has no clue.

  239. That's why he doesn't want anything to do with you.

  240. And then you make the excuse of yeah, I'll say it, Lord.

  241. You would make the excuse saying that he is this.

  242. No, he is this because you did this to him.

  243. From that time on, Esau hated Jacob because their father had given Jacob the blessing, and Esau began to scheme.

  244. I will soon be mourning my father's death.

  245. And once my father dies, I'm about to take my brother's life.

  246. Competition is dangerous in families.

  247. Because we can see from this text, it distorted his true identification.

  248. God's design is unity, not rivalry.

  249. Then the second one was emotional dependence.

  250. It's when a parent looks to the child for emotional needs.

  251. That should be met by God.

  252. Making children responsible for your happiness.

  253. Living your life through your child.

  254. And then you expect the child to be emotionally secure.

  255. You expect certain things, but you never put it in them.

  256. When emotional comfort is lacking, children will grow up carrying insecurity into their adulthood.

  257. It's true, it's true.

  258. And if that wound is not confronted, notice it has to be confronted with the word.

  259. If it's not dealt with with the word, see what happens is that people hide.

  260. And you think that just because you don't talk about it, that it's disappeared, just because you don't bring it up to anybody, you think it's gone, the wound is still there.

  261. You just put a band-aid over it.

  262. But get into the wrong relationship, or you get into a relationship, period, the band-aid is coming off.

  263. Because they're going to say something, they're going to do something that's going to scratch that wound.

  264. And then there's the bleeding.

  265. It comes out in your mouth.

  266. Comes out on your attitude.

  267. It comes out on your behavior.

  268. You can trace it all the way back.

  269. When the wound is confronted with the word, it can become the foundation for destructive thinking and destructive behavior.

  270. So notice what she chose.

  271. She chose to protect him instead of preparing him.

  272. She chose to protect him instead of preparing him for adulthood.

  273. That's why parents don't want to let kids go.

  274. You know you haven't prepared them.

  275. So then when they're trying to grow up and get up out of your house, you still a mama's boy.

  276. Lack of preparation at home.

  277. Point number two.

  278. Lies are not the truth.

  279. So we see the womb.

  280. Here's what the lie does: it changes what you think.

  281. Verse number five says, But Rebecca overheard what Isaac had said to his son Esau.

  282. So when Esau left to hunt for wild game, she said to her son, Jacob, listen, I overheard your father say to Esau, bring me some wild game and prepare me a delicious meal.

  283. Then I will bless you in the Lord's presence before I die.

  284. Now, my son, listen to me.

  285. Do exactly as I tell you.

  286. Go out to the flocks and bring me two fine goats and use them to prepare your father's favorite dish.

  287. Then take the food to your father so he can eat it and bless you before he dies.

  288. Notice she did not remind her husband what God said.

  289. Notice she didn't pray.

  290. Instead, she developed a plan.

  291. What you believe will always determine how you behave.

  292. What you believe, the fruit of that is how you live your life.

  293. Your actions.

  294. Genesis 25, which we read earlier.

  295. The elder shall serve the younger.

  296. So here is the lie.

  297. If I don't secure Jacob's future, God's promise won't happen.

  298. If I don't do this, if I don't do this, then God, what he promised, it won't happen.

  299. Her circumstances look completely different than what God said.

  300. And her actions determine what she actually believed in her heart.

  301. The enemy will never convince you to sin.

  302. Remember, if you look at John chapter 8, he's the father of lies.

    John 8 chapter mention

  303. He makes up stuff to get you to believe that what he said is more real and more truth than what God said.

  304. He's not gonna tell you to get in bed with somebody that's not your spouse.

  305. That's that's that's too much, that's just too much in your face.

  306. So what does a lie or what does fear tell you?

  307. God won't show up for you.

  308. I'm getting older.

  309. Let me talk to the single people.

  310. God didn't put an age on when you should get married.

  311. You did.

  312. I'm getting old now.

  313. Well, my Bible told me there are many people that that were older and mature that had babies.

  314. You should never make decisions based upon your age.

  315. Because you can be an old fool.

  316. You can you can bypass a lot of heartache and keep going.

  317. You won't waste a lot of money.

  318. And keep going.

  319. You won't waste your time if you just wait.

  320. See, fear have you believing that God is not in control.

  321. And fear will cause you to do things that you wouldn't normally think about doing.

  322. Take some time to get before the Lord, inquire of the Lord, and ask the Lord.

  323. Is this Ecclesiastics chapter three?

  324. Times, season, and purpose.

  325. Can you put Ecclesiastics chapter three up?

  326. Can they do that?

  327. I know you're sitting down today.

  328. The New Living Translation.

  329. I'm gonna show you something because time, season, and purpose is important.

  330. Time, season, purpose.

  331. Time, seasons, purpose.

  332. Time, seasons, purpose.

  333. There's a purpose for everything.

  334. There's a specific time in which you're supposed to accomplish a purpose.

  335. And in that, there's a season.

  336. Go to verse 15.

  337. Time, season, and purpose.

  338. This is why you have to inquire of the Lord.

  339. This is why you have to ask the Lord.

  340. Time, season, purpose.

  341. Because when you go back and you re-read that, it'll talk about there's a time to be born, there's a time to die.

  342. So while a person is born, there are certain things they're supposed to accomplish before they leave here.

  343. And there's a season in which everything should be accomplished.

  344. There are different seasons in your life.

  345. And because there are different seasons, there are different purposes that are attested that.

  346. And there's a time frame in which you're supposed to accomplish everything.

  347. And that time, season, purpose.

  348. Watch verse number 15.

  349. What is happening right now has already happened before in the mind of God.

  350. Come on, come on.

  351. That's indeed.

  352. That's indeed.

  353. So what's happening in your life right now in the mind of God has already happened.

  354. And what will happen in the future has happened before.

  355. Because God makes the same things happen over and over.

  356. Listen, folks, there is nothing new.

  357. God has already purposed and planned for everything in your life to function a certain way in a time, a season, and a purpose.

  358. God knows when you're supposed to get married.

  359. God knows who you're supposed to marry.

  360. God knows the timing for your children.

  361. He knows where you're supposed to live at.

  362. He knows everything.

  363. There is nothing new.

  364. But what happens is that when we don't inquire of the Lord as to what is the time, what season am I in, and what purpose is attached to time and season.

  365. Then you get out of time, you get out of season and you miss the purpose.

  366. Because this, what you're living, it's already happened.

  367. What you're supposed to do, oh Lord, what you're supposed to do is to become a doer or an actor.

  368. All you're doing is playing your role.

  369. But many of God's people, you don't know the script.

  370. So because you don't know the script, you don't know the word, you got a character.

  371. And everybody can see the movie right in front of them.

  372. And when that's in that movie, watch this.

  373. Oh my want no parts of that.

  374. I'm not going, I'm not paying money for that.

  375. Better follow the word.

  376. Whose voice is governing your life?

  377. Because that's going to determine what you have been in agreement with.

  378. Who is governing your life?

  379. Who have you allowed to speak over or into your life?

  380. Because whoever you have allowed to speak into your life, that could be what you have been partnered with.

  381. It is what you partnered with.

  382. It could have been a word curse over your life, and you didn't even understand it.

  383. And now you have begun to act like what they said is true instead of acting like what God said is true.

  384. And now we place more value on what your mama said, what your father said, what Auntie Nim said, and now you don't even understand your worth.

  385. Because what God said is greater than all of them.

  386. I don't know how I got over here.

  387. Go back to Genesis 27.

  388. Verse number 11 it says, but look, Jacob replied to Rebekah, my brother Esau is a hairy man, and my skin is smooth.

  389. What if my father touches me?

  390. He'll see that I'm trying to trick him.

  391. Then he'll curse me instead of blessing me.

  392. Notice Jacob recognized the danger in lying.

  393. The enemy will always advertise pleasure.

  394. God always will reveal the price.

  395. Sin will never tell you its consequences.

  396. Watch what happens in verse number 13.

  397. His mother replied, Then let the curse fall on me.

  398. Just do what I'm telling you to do.

  399. You go out and you get the ghost from me.

  400. She is so convinced that her plan is right that she is willing to accept any consequence that will come her way.

  401. Listen to this.

  402. Agreement gives deception permission to become your conviction.

  403. She thought she was protecting him.

  404. But what she was teaching him was how to lie.

  405. She was teaching him how to deceive people.

  406. You should be mindful what you're teaching your children.

  407. Children don't inherit your values, they inherit your agreements.

  408. You've been teaching them by how you've been living.

  409. So when they have relationships that are not healthy, you have to ask yourself, have I demonstrated unhealthy relationships?

  410. Because this is what I've been teaching them.

  411. If you got women coming in and out of your household, maybe you taught them how to be a whore from Babylon.

  412. You've been teaching all right.

  413. How you living.

  414. You don't have the money.

  415. You didn't teach them how to use their faith.

  416. So now they grow up not understanding how faith works because you didn't develop.

  417. But you just told them no.

  418. Because you were leaking.

  419. So now they grew up thinking that they have to struggle.

  420. Wound.

  421. Verse 14 through 29.

  422. I'm not gonna read all the rest of this.

  423. I would encourage you to go back and reread this.

  424. But the behavior that she began to teach her son was manipulation.

  425. It's a sinful attempt to control people.

  426. Circumstances to the outcomes of deception, pressure, fear, guilt, or any ungodly means, instead of trusting God's wisdom, timing, and authority, she didn't just tell the lie one time.

  427. Listen, because here's how manipulation works.

  428. You control the conversation.

  429. You don't want nobody to talk.

  430. You controlling all of that.

  431. She coached her son in this without even realizing it.

  432. She told him to disguise himself and to act like he was somebody else.

  433. And be willing to accept the consequences.

  434. When a person uses manipulation, they flatter you to get what they want.

  435. They tell half truths.

  436. Because they know that if they told you the whole truth, you can see through it.

  437. They intentionally leave things out to mislead you.

  438. Or here's another tool that people who yield to the spirit of manipulation yield to.

  439. Why?

  440. To control you.

  441. To control your behavior.

  442. To control the way you think.

  443. To control you think you making decisions.

  444. They controlling your decisions.

  445. They use emotions as a weapon to get their way through you.

  446. Or this is the last one because all these things Rebecca did.

  447. They use controlling information.

  448. They only manage what you know so that they can control what you do.

  449. So they give you a little bit of information because you can't handle everything else.

  450. And they manipulate that information and they manipulate your emotions to control you.

  451. We're going to close here.

  452. Manipulation survives in secrecy.

  453. Healing begins in truth.

  454. When we get impatient with God's timing, you'll be tempted to manufacture God's results.

  455. You may achieve immediate and immediate objective by manipulating.

  456. But you'll produce long-term damage.

  457. But I got some good news today.

  458. Jesus is the healer.

  459. Jesus is the healer.

  460. He can heal what the enemy has stolen.

  461. He can annihilate and oblivate.

  462. Remember, it says the reason the Son of God was manifest, he would destroy all of the works of the wicked one.

  463. He can bring your emotions back to the place where everything is new.

  464. Like it never happened.

  465. But you gotta receive it.

  480. I release them unto your hands.

  481. Today I choose not to carry bitterness, resentment, offense any longer.

  482. I forgive myself for the ways that I've responded to these wounds.
