Start Small - Your Breakout Year

Happy New Year, everyone. We are so excited that you

decided to spend your morning with us and welcome to Church

online. We are so excited to spend the

morning with you and you may be here looking for some positive

news, maybe some encouragement, maybe a little bit of Hope and I

want to tell you have come to the right place.

I have a feeling that there's somebody on the other end of

that screen this morning who just needs to hear used to have

a reminder that we serve a God who is still active and alive

and In our community, a God who wants a relationship with you

fiercely wants to pursue. You have a holy spirit who's

working in our life, not just today, but wants to have success

for us all the way through this. Next 20, 23 season.

I'm so excited for all that God has in store for us this

morning. So what we're going to do is

we're going to have a couple of worship songs right after that.

We're going to have some fun time for you to connect with us

through the screen. And then Pastor, Sean is going

to bring us an exciting new series called Your breakout

year, it is going to be an amazing morning.

But before we get started with all of that, let's get started

with some awesome worship. Happy New Year.

Real life. We are so excited to worship

with you this morning. So, whatever, wherever you are

joining in with us today. Pick a posture of worship.

Stand up kneel down. We are going to lift up God and

start this new year off, right? With some amazing worship.

And so we can't wait to worship along with you all.

How great the chasm that lay between us how high the mountain

What heart could find such boundless Grace to wear my sin.

body began to breathe out of outside.

Dear God. Thank you so much for this

amazing opportunity that we have to connect in a unique way.

Today, Lord not just to the people in our city, but just to

be able to have an opportunity, even outside of the walls of a

church Lord to worship and praise you.

And to honor you with our words, Lord help to fill us today with

hope and love as we head into this 2023 season.

Lord help us to just feel encouraged by the word, the

pastor. Sean brings to us today.

Help us to just have an authentic encounter with you.

That only you can Provide Lord bless this entire message, Lord

and just help all of this to lift up your name and ask all of

this in your name. Amen.

Well as we launch into this new year, I am so excited to pass

off the camera to Pastor Sean as he launches this brand new

series. It provides you guys with a

little bit of Hope today. Happy New Year, real life, come

on you made 2023 and I even got a coffee right here because I

know some of you after last night needs Some coffee.

Come on somebody, but me, I'm excited.

You guys are with us. Excited to launch a brand new

year and a really lean into really a new series called

breakout, and really, it's your breakout year in 2023.

And for some of us last year, maybe not been the URI wanted,

but this year, I believe God been praying for God to release

this year, kind of breakthrough. Maybe some relationships, I

missed some addictions. Maybe some things in your life

that you're trying to do name a Jesus, maybe some Souls changed.

Maybe some people coming to Christ and really honestly maybe

just take off the weight. And keep it off in Jesus name.

Come on somebody, I'm really praying for God's kingdom to

come here through you in this season.

Here's the reality though. 92% stats.

A of those who make a New Year's resolution actually fail at the

resolution and Paul went through this war of the Flesh and the

spirit and really on the inside the same, we're going to go

through as we launched in this new year and says this Romans

Romans 7 · chapter mention

chapter 7, is this Paul talking? It says, I don't understand

myself. For I want to do what is right

but I don't do it instead. I do what I hate.

I do. It's not right but I can't I

want to do it's good but I don't I want to do.

I don't do it's wrong but I do it anyway.

He says oh what a miserable person, I am.

Who will free me from the life. That is dominated by sin and

death. He says thank God.

The answer is in Jesus Christ, Our Lord, and this year, we're

going to start off. And we had these goals and is

resolutions, and there's just War happening on the inside, its

release. More of the Flesh in the spirit.

And Paul was in this war, nice, believe those invisible battles.

You have to fight this year. Will make all the difference as

you lead in 2023. I know it's easy to start and

state some goals of things that happen out there and outcomes,

but I want to start out this year talking about what's

happening right here inside of our hearts, the invisible walls,

that we battle the visible voices that are in our heads.

And so maybe last year. There's a lot of maybe ourselves

in last year, maybe is ego and pride, we're pushing.

It was just maybe He too much of us or maybe it was the this

invisible Wall of Shame. These chains are holding us

back, some things that are spoken over us.

Some thoughts about ourselves that kept us for having a

breakout year last year. Maybe it's a visible of fear may

be that worried that's been keeping us up at night.

Maybe there's a situation or circumstance or broken

relationship and it's just raining on our souls.

Maybe, there's some distrust from 2022, maybe last year was

like your biggest year and isolation and insulation.

And Just shut the world out and completely, and you really need

to start trusting people this year.

Maybe there's guilt. That's driving you, or maybe

you're in the comparison trap. Maybe start believing, I'm not

this. I'm not that.

And I'm not lovable, and I'm just helpless and I can't, maybe

you're stuck at the beginning of this year and so, there's so

many invisible walls. But here's what I'm start out

this year with. It's really simple.

I can't, but Jesus can, amen. I can't.

But Jesus can I'm not good enough, but Jesus is good and

through Jesus. He He can tear down the walls on

the inside and so for this to be a breakout Year, we're not going

to tell it what to do out here. Let's talk about today what God

can do in here. What walls does need to tear

down in your life to really set the foundation to make this one

of your best years yet? I believe this, it's a small

thing. It's the invisible things.

The things that no one else sees that will make the biggest

difference in 2022. 2023 thing, but every sports team out there.

They'll want to win the championship.

Come on, they'll be Super Bowl champs.

So Talk smack online. Everybody's got their teams and

room for stuff, but we all have the same goal but what makes a

difference. It's all the small things.

All those daily things, invisible things that make the

difference at the end. A think about people's

marriages, people have a great marriage and then you get five,

seven, ten, maybe fifteen years down the road, and you know

what? They're on opposite sides and

they end up having marriage fights and all sorts of things,

go off track and the train crashes, and no one South to do

that, but it's all the small things we all want.

Have the great things, but so small things, they were didn't

make the difference. Those invisible things add up to

be big things. Here's, I'm talking about, think

about Jesus. Jesus, often neglected, the

crowd often went away in solitude, he went away on a side

of a mountain. He left his disciples by the

campfire and went out by himself.

He did something that seems so small but it's so big.

He prayed he spent time alone with God.

It was his there's a holy spirit Power, it was a source.

And so for Jesus, for him to get Can hear words from his father

and the Holy Spirit and build him up those small things that

consistent had in his life, made all the difference in the world.

You know what kind of birds would make for you?

If you were to pray for your spouse every day?

Well, if you pray for your kids every day, but if you got her

knees and you said, God used my life.

Today, I'm, I'm yielded to you. I want you to use me.

God, thank you for my family. Think for my spouse.

What difference would that make in your life?

One small thing that make a huge difference this year.

You know, we don't need to set out and Put the goal to lose 20

pounds or that we're going to get more organized or pay off

her credit card debt, or we're gonna be professional

evangelist. I would encourage you salt stump

start with something very, very, very small.

Maybe the beginning of this year.

Maybe just say, I'm just going to go outside.

I'm gonna, I'm gonna walk, I'm just gonna walk three times a

week. I'm not going to go out with a

goal and try lose weight. I'm just going to start doing

these little tiny things that maybe you, pray and listen to

God. We talked about this year, about

chair time, just being Five Minutes Alone with Jesus.

Maybe your goal is really simple.

Maybe your goal this year at the very beginning, the year is just

to pick your Bible up, not even read it.

Literally just grab it and put it in your work bag and bring it

with you to work or maybe you just bring it on the nightstand.

Next to your bed, just pick up the Bible.

See, like, I believe, 90% of what you're into this year is

just showing up like if you just get to the gym, if you just get

to the Bible, I believe that you have a really good chance of

doing what God has called you to do.

Just by getting that book in your, Hands just by getting on

your knees and praying and asking God, there's a little

small things make all the difference.

What about this? Well, if you didn't buy a

coffee, every single day, what was like every other day, we do

something crazy. What if you canceled, Netflix,

come all somebody. Maybe.

Maybe save like $100 a month between Netflix and coffee,

right? In Jesus name.

I can tell you something small that's working for die.

And I, we took our TV ad for bedroom.

Something really small relocated, you know, talking 30

feet away, and it's changed changed a lot for us.

So it's The seasons been crazy at the Hope Center and you get

home and you're just late, it's like, hey, you know what?

Let's move TV out. And we turn our bedroom into

place of rest and Recreation. Come on somebody, she can't keep

her hands off me. What can I say?

It's a new year. These guys are trying not to

laugh but their laughs and it's a real deal right there.

Trying not to its great dying. When we cut that out bum, keep

it in, right? But I'm just totally Small

Things, add up to big things. Think about blowing water, you

try to watch that hot though that water boil and you're going

to put those noodles. As in wait, for kids are going

psycho. Right, and you, waiting and

waiting, and waiting, and it feels like nothing is happening,

right? But the reality is this, you

don't see anything until it gets to 212 degrees, but all the way

between that 90° or will be 40 degrees right now, write all

those temperatures to scope one temperature at a time until you

can find see the results and the reality is this is it a lot of

shaping, a lot of things that God is going to do the inside of

you to prepare you before. Other people, even notice the

difference. If you're working out you Even

notice a difference in your own life, until 30 days, then your

closest people do in 60, and then your friends will notice

about 90 days. The reality is this, those

little small things every day, those habits, those the way we

see ourselves, make all the difference in the world.

Moving up one degree at a time. So I believe this in Galatians

Galatians 6:9

6:9. This we have to do.

It says this. Let us not be weary in doing

good for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest.

If we do not give up. The reality is most people don't

see the fruit of their labor. There's not a microwave

Christianity and so as you start this, your app, you just do the

things, you know, are the right things to do follow God, those

small little areas, but don't give up, it's hard, you don't

see the fruit. You don't see the results, you

don't see all the things you want to see.

You don't look in the mirror and, like, wow, I'm changed

overnight. When you work out, it's the same

thing. Spiritually in the same thing

for your marriage. Same thing, your kids.

So this year start with something really simple start on

the inside and go slow tear down those walls attack the things

but don't give up through the hard seasons.

Like you're making a difference. Here's the question.

I want you guys to Think Through, who do you want to

become the next six to 12 months?

Think About 20-23 by the end of the year by end of summer?

Who do I want to become for some you might say man I'll be the

man, God has called me to be on called a woman, God's calling

me, then I'll be the Family Guy. I want to be the person who

shows up and it's trustworthy. Only person that gets clean this

year. I'm the person that breaks the

addiction of alcohol on the person.

That is a game changer for a family.

I want to save some money this year.

I want to A payoff, part of my debt.

What, who do you want to become? You have six to 12 months, you

can pretty much change. The really course of your family

and your life in this time. Who do you see yourself

becoming? And for me, I just look at this

year, I think, man last year spent a lot of time at the Hope

Center. A lot of time building things

this year, I'm going to build my family.

So I'll be the greatest Family Guy and the world love my family

of my kids. I'll be that guy that you guys

look at all you guys out there and you start rolling.

Your eyes. Every time you start hearing the

stories of what I'm doing. My family hanging out loving on

them. You like this guy is ridiculous.

To go on a horse ride with the horse named Daisy.

We're going to go on a date. Actually, that's got your main

so he's got us all be, he's got great stories.

Don't even talk to Scott, he'll make you feel like a sluggard.

He's just got the he's got relational use.

I don't know what it is, but I'm just telling you, I'll be that

guy that loves my family this year and by the end of the year,

I would like me what a family man.

Now I just spend more time with my kids.

My family, its leaders, been little crazy.

So I will be a strong leader for the cause of Christ, push the

needle for with our church and to seeing God's kingdom being

built here. So encouraging He's made pick a

word. What can it be like in six to 12

months. What's the area that God could

have? You focus in?

What's that one specific thing? You say, you know what?

God's will work on this wall. My heart, there's an area that

God is calling me into, and I'm going to lean into that.

I'm gonna set some goals around that.

There's a theme that guy's been working in me.

It's a, it's a Battle Cry, my life, and they just pick one

single word. And ask Diane said, what word

would you have between 23? And she told me the word was

intentional. She's going to lead by her nose.

She's been just kind of stretch over Direction, but this year,

it's like, Focus. In alignment and just really

being careful about her time and really, where she put your

passing energy. And for me, I surprised her with

this word, but actually picked the word Diane because I was

going to spend more time with my family, really focus on her and

help her grow and develop and just be there, just encouraging

her and just really strengthen our family and so not, there's

anything crazy. It's like a check-up.

Come off, somebody got ya maintenance, you know change the

oil in the marriage. Come on somebody, right?

Rotate the tires. Look under the hood, you know,

it's all about. And so I'm just telling you I'm

just thinking maybe great year. Are just really focusing on her

so I don't know where it is for you, but I encourage you to pick

a word and lean into a God has for you.

The good news is you don't do perfect.

Yeah, if you eat too much, you just next day.

Say, hey, I'm starting over. If you skip a day at the gym,

you don't pick your Bible up. You make mistake, you lose your

temper. Well guess what?

You are forgiven, you're not called be perfect.

You just called the confess and then let Jesus have it and then

learn and move forward. So this year, you're going to

stumble the fall forward. Learn from your You're

stumbling. Maybe you're trying to save

money and you impulse shop. Come On Target started speaking.

All you ladies, it's only been one day.

You did the returns last week. Now you spend all that money

from the turns again, but the reality is, hey, just go to

Jesus. So, you know, I'm starting over

on be disciplined with all those little pennies.

Now, I want you to think about this.

This is, this is pretty pretty special small things add up to

big things. If I give the option of having

three million dollars right now, or give you a magical penny that

doubles itself in a value, every single day for 31 days, which

one you pick? Now, most people would take the

three million dollars, it's like man, that's a lot of money, but

the reality is, if you're taking Penny, it wouldn't really look

like it. Added up too much.

You look like a fool for the really the first about 20, 25

days. You look like complete idiot,

but the reality is all those little small things, others will

pennies. They double they add up and

nobody sees it, nobody knows what's going on.

It's not until the 30th day. Do you actually make more than

the 3 million dollars? And by the 31st day, you made

ten point seven million dollars just by doubling a penny every

Day. I'm telling you, there's a

little small things you do in life.

If you don't give up, you will reap a harvest.

So plant those small stuff. Do what's right?

Focus in and really tear those walls that maybe have pulled you

back last year. Let's have a breakthrough year

in 2023. I'm excited to launch this new

series. I'm excited to see what God's

going to do. I want to invite you back.

One of the small habits you can have is just showing up as just

being a part of the family of God, and there's something that

happens right here. When you hear the word of God,

you get challenged and changed. And so what is it for you?

What's Your one word this season, don't get discouraged

and you see the water not boiling and the pennies aren't

adding up. Don't get discouraged because

one day you're going to reap a harvest.

And so I know you guys are really faithful to God and I

know God is going to bless you, continue to follow him work

through those this year, make it a breakout year and see what God

is going to do. Probably come before you go.

We thank you so much for really just changing our lives.

God allowed this year to be a year.

We're gonna start fresh, we can just reset the clock.

You can Just wipe away our sins God and we start over and we

don't have to be ashamed or walking the season of fear or

worry or doubt. And so God, I pray, you tear

down some walls in the people are church that we walk in here

with really less baggage than we started because we know you and

so God help us to have a year that we look back on and say,

man, I'm proud of this and even through small steps, got a

prayed. There's things that are in our

lives that nobody else could see that.

You would just do some work in God.

That you do some heart surgery today.

Even our lives, we watch this guy to pray that somebody would

see this and realize Sighs man, I need Jesus and there's some

things in my life that I've been putting in front of that.

And so, I'm going to get this in the right position and re put

Jesus in the seat on the throne of my life.

So we got to pray for our church had used it to really be a

breakout church this season. Go see, Souls changed and people

changed. And I pray for one more group

people and that's those you that say, you know what, I need

completely fresh start this year.

I need something I've never had before.

I need Jesus and you got to realize who Jesus is Jesus.

The sinless son of God. We just celebrate an amazing

Christmas. And we'll the birth of the

sinless. Son of God that came for us,

Adama cross for us. For some of you, you need

started this year out on the right foot and you needs to come

down to being right with Jesus. And so, for those you need,

Jesus Bible says this, whoever believes in him, he confesses

with their mouth. That Jesus Christ died on the

cross for our sins, they'll be forgiven and made new and stuff.

You need to be made new. Today, I want to encourage you

to pray this prayer with me and ask Jesus to save you from your

sin. They finally got.

Thanks so much for sending Jesus, sending your best to die

on a cross. Or me?

Yeah, you can have my life got on this year to be a year.

That's all about you guys. And I want to use you.

Use my life, how you see? Fit got.
