-
for you. He's fighting battles.
-
He's already won on your behalf. And so on introduced a new song
-
today it's called same God and it really leans into this idea.
-
That the same God who did these big miracles from Years Gone by
-
is alive today. He's fighting for you, he's
-
active in your life and in your Circumstance, the god of Moses,
-
the god of Jacob, the god of Mary, and David he is fighting
-
for you. You and so, I hope that you'll
-
like this one. I hope that you'll lift it up to
-
our good God. You are the same.
-
what are you thankful that we serve the same God who perform
-
Miracles way back when he's performing them even right now
-
and have got ever made a way for you if he's brought you through
-
the darkness, if he's provided for you and you thought there
-
was no, I don't want you to see In your hearts out to him today,
-
as we continue to worship His goodness together.
-
The goodness of our amazing God. And maybe this week, maybe this
-
morning, you woke up just with the weight of the week, the past
-
week, on your shoulders, and you were kind of debating, whether
-
you wanted to even get up out of bed.
-
Come and show up today and be a part of this Gathering but you
-
did it anyway and you're here. And I think you're here because
-
you needed to be reminded of the goodness of God, right?
-
You need to be reminded that there's a God, that pursues you,
-
that loves you, that is fiercely seeking after you, it has a
-
purpose for your life. You're so glad you decided to
-
join us. If you are not here in purpose,
-
maybe you still got off. And you're watching us online
-
today on Church online, we still want to give you guys a huge
-
welcome. Would you guys all join me here
-
in person and welcoming Church online?
-
Give him a big round of applause.
-
All right, we are so excited that they are here and I want
-
you guys before we get started on us, exciting football Sunday
-
to take a quick second and grease the people around.
-
You say, I got hello happy, Chief stay and then take a seat.
-
Well, happy, football Sunday, everybody.
-
How about those How many of you guys are excited to watch the
-
big game today? Yeah, it's going to be an
-
awesome football funny. We have a lot of exciting things
-
in store for you guys afterwards.

-
We want to know that you came. So there are a couple of options
-
that you have to get connected with us here at real life.
-

-
scan that, it'll take you to a link, that'll get you connected.
-

-
somebody here on our team. We get a little, to get to know
-
a little bit about you. There's a new here, Booth back
-
in the corner of our Hub. If you want to stop by there, we
-
have a free gift for you. Just to say, thanks for being
-
here. Thanks for spending your Super
-
Bowl Sunday here with us a real life church.
-
And if you want to know a little bit about who we are, we are a
-
church on a mission and that mission is to see people who are
-
far from God, discover their real life and perv.
-
Vez. And that mission goes far beyond
-
the walls of this room even this building because everything that
-
we do is intentional to reach the people of our city, and we
-
have events like this today, like football Sunday because we
-
love the people in our city. Amen.
-
And we want to reach people in our community for Jesus and
-
we're going to have some brats. We're going to have a good time
-
here because we care so much about the lost souls in our
-
city. And today is no different.
-
It's football Sunday. You guys are so excited.
-
I can feel the anticipation in the room.
-
You guys are Chiefs fans like me.
-
You know, we have a little bit of anxiety that comes right with
-
following our Chiefs team, but if you guys watch games were
-
always on the edge of our seat, right?
-
We are always just so excited and expectant for what's going
-
to happen next during the game because we've never really know
-
what's coming up next and they're every play, every single
-
down, every second, right? Can hold us in anxiety, and
-
anticipation for what might be happening.
-
Next, and as Christians, as Jesus followers, we get that
-
same privilege and opportunity to be on the edge of our See and
-
expectant and excited for everything that Jesus is going
-
to do through our community Through us.
-
With each decision that we make On Any Given Sunday to be a
-
Jesus follower. So it's Pastor Sean.
-
I'm invited to the Stacy's going to share with us today.
-
Look and just happen as a Christian On Any Given Sunday.
-
Give it up for pastor Sean. Thanks Gary.
-
Come on. Welcome to football.
-
Sunday, made you guys look ready?
-
I'm gonna just say that live in Kansas City, in this era in time
-
in the Chiefs kingdom is awesome.
-
Come on somebody. I mean, it's amazing one day.
-
I'll pry have to tell my kids. I came here when you're little
-
and they were like in a Super Bowl three times in five years,
-
amazing. But I want to get some honor day
-
before you jump into football, Sunday to a few select group
-
people that just want to Bone Beyond, we have a dream team,
-
there's a group people in the dream team that really went the
-
extra yards. Come on.
-
Tended, the hard yards for us today, really for a tailgate
-
party all the stuff. You're gonna see a special day
-
and give us a big. Thank you and some honor to our
-
Vince team to put the extra miles in today.
-
Come on, it's good. Another person really family.
-
Want to just highlight they brought Arrowhead to us today.
-
Literally there was like grass from are ahead on the tailgate
-
stuff. You can smell the fire pits and
-
the in the barbecue and all that.
-
That and so the guys are DieHard Chiefs fans, but they love
-
Jesus. They love us.
-
Ranger Smith care under the in the house, over here, somewhere
-
to hide, and there's some other back.
-
There we go. Hey, there they are.
-
Dude, thank you so much for the extra miles, man.
-
They'd be answerable, didn't win the lottery on this one but,
-
man, it's exciting one other person.
-
This is just something. I just felt today, but men that
-
worship is on fire today, and there's, there's something to
-
back. They got picked on last week,
-
but did incredible job today and the worship set.
-
I think some of your first week told, Your own little run.
-
The audio, give it up for Logan back there.
-
Come on, put your hand in this. Make up for last week.
-
He's the guy in the Eagles jersey, we still love you.
-
Come on, don't kill the audio guy.
-
Okay we need him for next week. All right, it's all good.
-
I mean there's always something special about Super Bowl Sunday
-
and there is always some anticipation and you know,
-
you're Andy Reid and his coaching and course you got the
-
magic of Mahomes and it just like anything is possible with
-
this team. It doesn't matter if the down by
-
28 come on and it also doesn't matter out by 28, right.
-
We almost put blood pressure medication out the seats today.
-
You know I'm saying? I'm just kind of team we got
-
right here. Right?
-
I mean 13 seconds, your Grim be the Grim Reaper right?
-
This is the greatest quote of all time, you know, and just
-
Kansas City history. But you need to Chiefs that
-
you'd it's never over till it's over and that's what I love
-
about football. It's exciting.
-
Every down every play, every second, really, anything can
-
happen. And for us as Christians, I just
-
want to just spend this on its head because here's the reality
-
in any Sunday. Anything Can Happen, amen.
-
Anything in the move of God, in any moment, any time that same
-
exhilaration expectation, that same culture that we could show
-
up in the things of God and say thank you Jesus that the Holy
-
Spirit can move at any moment. Amen.
-
Think about being a Christian we're in a spiritual war now.
-
Back to we're doing we're always taking yards from Satan amen.
-
We're taking some hard yards. In fact, we pray and we work
-
hard and we serve hard to all this stuff just for somebody
-
today to know, Jesus to know Jesus and leave forever change
-
today. Like, we're working her tail off
-
for the things of Christ. East matter of fact, you think
-
about what is the to be a Christian that we get to
-
celebrate the things of God, we could to serve in the things of
-
God, we will lean into the things go out every single week
-
knowing that God can move. Amen.
-
As we lead with expectation with with big expectation of what God
-
can do, Any Given Sunday, mass effect.
-
People walk in this house today maybe you walked in, you thought
-
your life was kind of that spot was fourth and impossible.
-
You thought maybe you're not going to make it maybe you're in
-
a season of depression or suicide or maybe need some hope
-
in people. Look at this every single week.
-
People come to Christ here and today the Holy Spirit can be
-
poured onto your life through Jesus, and you can leave changed
-
and forever new. And I'll tell you what, I get
-
excited about that, amen. I never give up on the fact that
-
this maybe somebody Super Bowl Sunday.
-
Amen. I never give up on that.
-
The never changes. So we leave with expectation.
-
And so, this looks like it looks like this.
-
When somebody ask you to pray, they've been a life group, or
-
maybe it's in the Huddle, maybe it's in your family.
-
And someone says, who wants to pray this way?
-
Expectation looks like right there.
-
Amen. Who was the prey is a boom,
-
boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Boom hands everywhere, right?
-
And really kind of leaders have to say.
-
All right guys, one at a time. One at a time, right?
-
Or hey, I'm really sorry. I got some bad news today.
-
Only one person can pray in the group.
-
Oh, right? Because expectation, that what
-
God can do and uh, this kind of silly, it's like, oh yeah, that
-
never really happens, but it wish it would.
-
Amen. Because here's the thing, how
-
you pray is really how you play. Like we don't step on this stage
-
without being prayed over. Look, we're not going to talk
-
about the Word of God without praying for all of you.
-
But praying for God to move, forgot to change Souls.
-
We don't show up to a life group and were like, oh, yeah, hey,
-
hey Jim yeah, Jim Jim, how you doing Jim?
-
Then the we prayed for a gym this week, amen.
-
Like we came with expectation that God is going to change
-
Jim's life, and so we care for people with so prayer, really
-
sets the expectation that God is going to move.
-
Amen. Like I mean, we're behind the
-
scenes constantly asking God to do these things.
-
And so we show up on Sunday, it's like, okay, God, like who
-
are prayed? Sup were trusting you with this
-
think about worship. It's my expectation of worship.
-
I'm how we come in is Jesus followers and worship Jesus, and
-
we can worship Jesus in a lot of ways.
-
But worship juice through song is one of my favorite ways we
-
come here and we just look to Jesus say thank you.
-
Jesus, we have Open Hearts and Hands for the things of God and
-
obvious picture Jesus on today, on the cross and him pursuing me
-
and died for me and really heartfelt, tears come down our
-
face and worship. Amen.
-
But, you know, we saw people come to church, and I saw this
-
me and I probably shouldn't say this way, but I must say, It was
-
this Meme and it was a Baptist enjoying worship, and it was
-
like this. Now, if you come fast come fast,
-
but the reality is there. So if people hold on the chair,
-
it's like there's so Express expressionless and people so
-
worried about like being emotional church and I'm sorry
-
that somebody told you back at your, like, whatever, religion
-
experience. They told you to hold back on
-
the things of God. I'm sorry that somebody told you
-
to show up on a Sunday and be reserved.
-
I mean, I think about Chiefs game, I'm like, when I go to
-
Chief Stadium ever had stadium and I see what's happening, I
-
always imagine heaven and I'm saying they're having, I'm not
-
saying But I'm saying there's just countless thousands of
-
millions of people that worship Jesus in heaven, that we do part
-
of that, that the anthem forever.
-
And so for me, like we should get excited about the things of
-
God, just like the Chiefs, amen. I mean, we where the Chiefs
-
jersey, right? We represent, but we represent
-
the kingdom of God. The so we show up on Sunday,
-
there's any place. Just have some expectation of
-
come around if people should think a little crazy up here a
-
little bit. Okay.
-
I'm just saying this you walking like something's weird.
-
Hey, we just love you and with the whole experience here and we
-
love that we love Jesus. Amen.
-
And so any moment I believe this any moment today somebody's
-
going to come to Jesus so he made came to Jesus in the
-
parking lot. So maybe in the hallway and had
-
a heart-to-heart conversation to connect with somebody and you
-
say, hey there's The Wonder of God in my life or maybe sitting
-
next to you you're like, hey I don't know this guy but am I
-
getting this guy or maybe they do know him but today's the day
-
or maybe it hang out that tailgate Tent today.
-
And I will those Jesus conversations, right?
-
Or maybe it's in the kids room they give them Jesus or in the
-
youth group. I'm just showing this is
-
expectation to have today. Amen.
-
This is this expectation house. We're going to do we're going to
-
kind of set the expectation so I'm going to go ahead and pray
-
and maybe ask you once the prey. All right so I picked the right
-
topic to talk about today. Come on somebody, right?
-
So we're gonna set up the expectation that God the midday
-
father come before you with open hands.
-
Open Hearts. God that we would be the type of
-
Christians that expect you to move any given day the week
-
especially on Sunday. It's a God.
-
Help us to be enthusiastic to be expectant, got to our faith and
-
our worship and our Prayer removed from a private Faith to
-
a public Declaration of the Wonders.
-
And the glory of God that changes today.
-
We pray this in Jesus name, maybe the church said, amen.
-
By the way, I will say, your worship is a weapon weapon for
-
Jesus. Do you think about this when
-
you're worshiping Jesus? It's like, I trust you, I
-
believe in you, you've got this. It's also telling saying
-
something to it, you look at saying, you say, hey guess what?
-
This is our been decided, this are decided in heaven.
-
So, whatever scheme you're trying to put on me and going to
-
happen. Amen.
-
And so worships like real. I'm the heart so I love to get
-
into worship and I like her just to be a worshipping church.
-
We were blessed and the search to have amazing worship.
-
Amen. And I'm just telling you like we
-
should come in with some expectation at allow you guys do
-
but we got to get breaks them out of the mold.
-
They be of just Comfort to say, Okay God people should go in
-
here and say these love these guys love Jesus, a little weird,
-
but they love Jesus. Amen.
-
And so we're going to jump into really what set the expectation
-
where did this all come from? Its, we're going to go back to
-
one of those original Sundays The original Sunday really
-
outside of Jesus on the cross and Resurrection Sunday, we're
-
gonna go to the Sunday, the relaunch, the church, and you
-
find this in Acts chapter 2, and what is called Pentecost.
Acts 2 chapter mention
-
And so, he used some context of Pentecost.
-
This is where Jesus had been crucified.
-
He was killed. He resurrects from the dead.
-
He came back to life. Obviously, four days.
-
He went around to be seen by people.
-
He restored Peter and then he ascended to Heaven.
-
You have Acts chapter 1, you have pure kind of stands up a
Acts 1 chapter mention
-
little bit with disciples that pick Matthias.
-
To take over for Judas and then you have Pentecost and so picks
-
up an axe chapter 2. We're going to be there pretty
-
much the whole day Acts chapter 2, verse 1, says this, when the
-
day of Pentecost came. So this is something significant
-
Pentecost is already an event and Jewish calendar.
-
It's already holiday. This isn't we think of Pentecost
-
and just like launch on this day, this is something that
-
Jewish culture. We already had in place.
-
What's really interesting about the Pentecost?
-
It's actually 50 days past Jesus.
-
Resurrection, the whole Pinta cost, it's Greek for 50 days.
-
So this is actually a feast that the Jewish culture would have
-
had. It's called The Feast of the
-
early Harvest. Come on somebody.
-
You think Jesus had a plan when he claimed that the Pentecostals
-
me the feast early Harvest and 3,000 people come to Christ.
-
That fact you back up, 50 days, Jesus actually, resurrected on
-
the feet, the Feast of the first fruits, come on somebody.
-
So Jesus resurrects, the first resurrection of the dead and
-
Jesus didn't resurrect just to life to die again.
-
Jesus resurrected and immortality.
-
And so he's the first of those that would resurrect wrecked
-
from Mortal to Immortal. Now, Jesus was a little
-
different but for us, we resurrect from Mortal to
-
Immortal and we were like, kind of like the last fruits, come on
-
somebody, right. And today, we need to play a
-
part of the story. And so, when you line up all
-
these cultures of the Old Testament, Jesus really God
-
started and Jesus fulfills them, do it is amazing.
-
Amen, to see the plan of God and how it works.
-
And so, it says this and when Pentecost came, they the
-
disciples were all together in one place.
-
And suddenly, a sound, like a blowing of a violent wind came
-
from Heaven waiting, all week for that.
-
Also, buddy, violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole
-
house, where they were sitting, and they saw what seemed to be
-
tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of
-
them. So you're the picture there in
-
this house, the praying together they've been seeking for Jesus.
-
That's been pasted about nine or ten days.
-
They've been unified together, trying to figure out, hey,
-
what's going to happen next? The been praying and all of a
-
sudden you have this wind just rush from heaven and what seems
-
like tongues of fire come and they separate and they land or
-
they rest over the top of these people.
-
And what's amazing about this is this is ruler with the Holy
-
Spirit kind of enters in. He feels these people and so
-
there's really the launch of something very special and I
-
love when this pulley Spirit shows up it's not like today
-
where Holy Spirit comes your life it's invisible.
-
You don't see the Holy Spirit but for them this was there was
-
a physical symbol of the Holy Spirit of this Fire and Fire is
-
representative God. Matter of fact the Holy Spirit
-
came and Pryor was Jesus. Baptized right and came down as
-
a dove. And so here you see the fire of
-
God, the tongues on these people laid, on them representing
-
really the things. Christ.
-
Now you think about this fire is said that rabbis used to have
-
fire rust on them as they stood the word of God, these teachers
-
of the Old Testament, my factors actually Roman coins as pretty
-
interesting as a these leaders about a tongue of fire above
-
them that represents a new era and this season, these tongue
-
comes, it's really represent a new era for us as relationship
-
with God. This new way as it's called as
-
Christians. And so here's the real this is
-
very interesting. So the Pentecost actually came
-
out of when Moses received the law from outside, I That's when
-
I started celebrating the Pentecost is, that's called the
-
Feast of the weeks, it was seven weeks.
-
And so the reality is this is that Pentecost was the chosen
-
day that God sent the Holy Spirit to us to abolish or
-
fulfill what Jesus did with the law and represent the new time.
-
We walk with Jesus called the New Covenant, the age of Grace,
-
amen. I'm just telling you, this is
-
for the mature Christians, that know, some of the stuff, right?
-
This is amazing how God has moved.
-
They settle all up and they celebrated and then Go to
-
celebrate the said we're done with that.
-
The holy spirit is here, there's a new way to know God and it's
-
through this spirit that we can walk with Jesus, Spirit, enters
-
into man for the first time, they're in this set and they're
-
filled with the spirit, they wiped away.
-
Along verse 4 says this, all of them, this is every person in
-
the house, unconditional these guys have been praying and
-
seeking after God, unconditionally were filled with
-
the Holy Spirit. Now you see this all throughout
-
the Bible that says this extra anointing of the Holy Spirit,
-
that's on somebody's Samson. Pushed the pillars, over all the
-
different times where people are filled with the spirit of God.
-
They begin to Speak in other tongues, as the spirit enabled
-
them. Now I'll say this, there's
-
different types of tongues, the New Testament.
-
If you want a Christian, anytime at all, you've debated this at
-
some coffee shop with somebody right, come on, right?
-
And so there's different tongues and this other tongues, there's
-
three different forms of tongues in the Bible, tongues of angels,
-
tongues of men. Here, you have other tongues.
-
This other tongues is referring to other languages very
-
specifically, so it says they spoke in other languages as the
-
spirit, enabled them. Now, here's why this is so
-
significant for us today. We call the expectation of
-
Expectations what God can do on a Sunday morning.
-
Any Given Sunday? It says, this verse 5, now there
-
are staying in Jerusalem. These God-fearing Jews.
-
Hey, get the picture. So, here's this Feast, this of
-
the early Harvest. It's happening, Jerusalem.
-
And he's Old Testament followers of Judaism.
-
They actually feared God, but they do about Jesus, and they
-
were coming to celebrate the Pentecost.
-
And once you have to know about this, it's very significant.
-
It says they're from every nation under heaven, then
-
incredible. This is a global scale, C
-
Pentecost was a pilgrimage. If you're a Jewish, man, you're
-
required to come back in to go to Pentecost, to go to this
-
feast. And so, the Holy Spirit, God
-
picked the perfect moment at a global scale that the good news
-
will go out to all the world that have represents the world.
-
Would be there, it says this. And when they heard the sound,
-
which is a great quote, by the way, I heard the sound right of
-
the spirit of God. They heard the sound of rushing.
-
Wind everybody, talking their loan?
-
Languages a crowd came together in.
-
Mulder mate. These guys are confused.
-
All right? And because each one heard their
-
own language being spoken. Look man.
-
This is a little crazy. So it's they're amazed and they
-
ask aren't all. These are speaking galileans
-
like on the world. They speak in my language, what
-
in the world is going on? And then how is it that each of
-
us here them in our native tongue or day of language?
-
And so they got parthians and medes, and elamites and
-
residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia Pontius.
-
Asia friken says, 14 Ghia. I was a Fergie.
-
Come on, somebody. Right.
-
We're not going there philia, Egypt.
-
Maybe it's in the playlist later, I don't know.
-
Right parts, Olivia. Cyrene visitors from Rome, both
-
Jews and convert to Judaism cretians.
-
Arabs, we hear them declaring. And this is so good.
-
What are they declaring in their own tongues?
-
What were they saying? They're declaring.
-
What the The wonders of God, this is incredible.
-
This Holy Spirit comes with the exact moment.
-
The exact Sunday would all rule, is there to celebrate really the
-
Old Testament law being given but they're saying, no, no, this
-
is being changed and they're declaring in their own tongue to
-
the Holy Spirit, the wonders of God, this is amazing.
-
I hope we haven't changed or left is very first message.
-
Come on somebody to declare the wonders of God, why in the world
-
of the Holy Spirit? Picked this because there was
-
there was good news. That was too good.
-
Kept private, it was too good to worship like this.
-
It was too, it was too good. Not to pray before you showed
-
up. It was too good to be kept
-
silence. He was good news.
-
It was too good, not to share. And so the Holy Spirit showed up
-
and said we're going to get this good news out.
-
Amen. To a lost and dying world that
-
needs Jesus. It's amazing to me that the very
-
first Act of the Holy Spirit. Now, in fact, you don't know the
-
book of Acts is actually called the book of Acts because it's
-
the acts of the Holy. Spirit, the very first Act of
-
the holy spirit of God, the, the helper, the promised comforter?
-
Remember, Jesus, that would be one that's coming Gina.
-
Come for you, the encourager, the ones going to indwell us
-
live in us. The very first thing that is
-
Holy Spirit does it's been locked up right?
-
From the hearts of man. For all these centuries.
-
All these These are is these thousand Millennials right to be
-
locked up in a sense of released into this moment.
-
And the very first thing that this His Spirit, it does is it
-
makes a way for us to declare the wonders of God to the entire
-
world? Come on.
-
Somebody am I excited? I'm excited because this this
-
is, this is incredible. Like, this is the launch Sunday.
-
Come on somebody of the capital c church.
-
We just repeat what the Holy Spirit did every single Sunday
-
really every single day or life. Declaring the wonders of God to
-
all people around us, do we? Not lose that passion, amen.
-
And so we're in with the kids program or working with
-
elementary kids or even Nursery, kids or Pre-K.
-
And we're doing a Bible lesson that we're sharing the wonders
-
of God. Amen.
-
And we get we did we move Heaven and Earth to share the wonders
-
of God with people. And so people show up like a cot
-
guys, this is all about me share that with our kids and our
-
families and we go to youth group and you got kids that are
-
struggling with identity struggling crisis, meant I love
-
about you, it's kind of a world. We kind of afraid to have
-
teenagers go through this section of life like the world
-
is so Much different. Even when I was a teenager,
-
that's how I know I'm getting old.
-
I'm saying things that sound old.
-
Come on. So he right.
-
But it's just so much different. They're questions that have to
-
ask themselves are insane, what kind of right asks, any of the
-
questions have to ask them. So that was a really, and
-
they're struggling, but they have the hope of Jesus.
-
We need to clear the wonders of God, to these young Souls, had
-
the holy spirit of God, they can live a life on Mission.
-
Amen. You need to clear that when
-
somebody connects to the front door and you get to have the
-
heart to heart conversation that sold his soul.
-
And you could maybe just Are the ones of God like hey man, I've
-
been in your shoes but God man. He's just done it for me.
-
He's done it for me. And you get to have those
-
conversations. The soul shaping conversations
-
every single time we interact with people.
-
That's what we're doing. We're declaring the wonders of
-
God to a lost and Dying World. Maybe somebody sitting next to
-
you, maybe somebody at life group and maybe a neighbor.
-
I mean, when you come on the stage, this is all we do as
-
pastors and leaders and people on the stage.
-
I don't care who you are. You come on stage, all use like
-
this. You see The Wonder of God?
-
It's not the Wonder of me. It's a wonder of God, what God
-
has done in me. So if you want to be a preacher
-
and a speaker just Galloway, amen.
-
He just point to Jesus this, The Wonder of God is to really any
-
stage. You know, I was looking at their
-
passing out the AFC championship trophy, right?
-
Lamar, Hunt Trophy and he have Clark hunt, he walks up on the
-
stage. The first thing he says I want
-
to thank my Lord and Savior. Come on somebody he'd have to
-
say that. I mean my home's used to thank
-
God for my you know, for healing me this week and if you Follow
-
his story, anything. His faith is strong, actually,
-
so much anxiety is so much pressure.
-
He lives under he's like only because of God, I can do this.
-
I'm just telling you. When you got a platform, all you
-
do is like this. Amen.
-
And that's why I love. Does.
-
My favorite part of the ACC Championship was like, thank you
-
for Gilbert glory to God. Amen.
-
Who gave you those talents and abilities and that, that money.
-
And all these things that you be on that stage, this moment due
-
to his, by the power of God. And that same spirit of God
-
lives in us. Come on somebody.
-
Any Given Sunday we can point to Jesus.
-
Anything can happen. We could occur the words of God
-
to anybody. Now, look at the clouds
-
response, I heard the rushing wind that they saw was going on.
-
They are be speaking. These tongues, like, I heard his
-
people. What in the world and they're
-
amazed and verse 12 and four Plex or confused and they asked
-
one another, what does this mean?
-
And some however, this is this, how it goes, made fun of them
-
come. All right.
-
And they said they had too much wine.
-
It sounds like a tailgate party done it.
-
I mean the told you tell get Sunday right man, these guys are
-
the parties are fanatical fans. These guys just zealots men,
-
they're drunks these guys are out there.
-
Salute mind, but they weren't but they weren't come on
-
somebody. I mean, when's the last time
-
somebody somebody show up to church and thought these guys
-
are crazy. I like that little bit.
-
I'm not saying we should be crazy to be crazy but I'm just
-
saying, I think it should be a little different in here.
-
I think those walk in the other. Something different about these
-
people is that we love Jesus, and we love you.
-
Amen. That just was different.
-
So when people raise their hands or they sing off-key, but they
-
sing loud for the glory of God, make a Joyful Noise.
-
Come on somebody. This reason I sing from the
-
front row, right? Some of the few months ago is
-
like I heard you singing. I was right behind you.
-
It was good. I was like, yeah.
-
Sure. You know, like this.
-
I know. I can't.
-
Sing this one on stage. Come on somebody, right.
-
I did it. I'm not talented.
-
Like that all of those gifts that's all right.
-
Okay. But we're just excited for the
-
things of God. Verse 14 says this, these guys
-
are confused and people, making fun of me, all you guys are a
-
bunch of drunks. Now some things, well, enough
-
and Peter, there's that Peter Wright that very talked about
-
last week that Peter, that was kind of like down on himself.
-
I love this verse 14, says then Peter did what?
-
How may I help you? Peter stood up.
-
This might be the best words of a Christian stand up.
-
This is what we do in this culture.
-
Amen, we stand up. We make a wave and Peter, he
-
finally got the courage. He stood up with the eleven, he
-
raised his voice and he addressed the crowd.
-
He's got to get a business. He said fellow Jews.
-
All of you live in Jerusalem. Let me explain to you this.
-
Listen carefully to what I have to say.
-
I'm, you talk about a bold Proclamation Peters.
-
Bout to just lay it on them and it's good.
-
He's about to give one of the best unrehearsed message has
-
ever. Given from the spirit from got
-
heart of God to these people. He says these people are not
-
drunk as you suppose. It's only 9:00 in the morning,
-
come on somebody. It's Sunday morning that I drunk
-
yet. Wait till afternoon, what are
-
you thinking? Yeah.
-
Just a question as to her Tony's voice out there and what's going
-
on. I'll stop I'll stop right?
-
But this is the same Peter, literally very talked about
-
this. Got this guy is has the Forsaken
-
Jesus. He said I'll never die, you
-
know. No, I never deny you and then
-
it's little girl. You know, you're a gal with
-
those disciple know. And he runs off member.
-
He he went barely aware that he was broken as the same period
-
that like, walked on water, awesome, club in, right.
-
But then he sank, right? And Peter was really defeated
-
and then he met with Jesus at a fish fry.
-
Come on somebody. And he Stored and heat is also,
-
his boldness, start swelling up and Peter.
-
There's something that the Peter starts watching, like he would
-
see the crowd. He's recognizes, this is the
-
spirit of God moving, he recognizes that.
-
This is a moment for the gospel to go out.
-
He starts, recognizing there's all nations represented and
-
there's just me somethings, and having side Peter, he's gonna
-
remember something. Because Jesus gave Peter
-
something very special. Jesus gave Peter two things.
-
One, he gave me a new name it to, he gave me a promise.
-
There's something to come back to Peter and found in Matthew
-
16:18. And it says this, This is Jesus
-
talking to Peter. He's I tell you that you are
-
Peter, and on this rock, some of Peter being pet.
-
Ross, that's his new name. You know.
-
A first name is Simon, that was his original name and in Jesus
-
said, you know, who Simon, your name is Petra.
-
Ross name is rock. This is the original Rock.
-
Come on, somebody, can you smell what The Rock is?
-
I'm not going to quote, Travis Kelce, all right?
-
But that was the best part, all right?
-
I mean, I was like, okay, we're good.
-
Thank you, Lord Jesus and then Travis Kelce, right?
-
I mean that guy hadn't drunk yet, you know, so it's great,
-
whatever right? But on this rock Simon met on
-
this rock, I love this. If you ever wondered what
-
success looks like a Ministry, had this conversation, my staff.
-
I should have been this verse. I Jesus will build my church.
-
There's nothing new about you. I'm going to build my church and
-
the gates of Hades or Hell will not prevail.
-
Missed it. And so Peter this is running as
-
mine is like man I was given a name for the rock.
-
I'm supposed to launch the church.
-
This looks like launch Sunday to me.
-
And so Peter like this was a promise that he was going to
-
fulfill he stood up he's going to give one of the best messages
-
ever. Preached right here.
-
Found that acts chapter 2 is going to lay it on because it
Acts 2 chapter mention
-
boldness for the cause of Christ.
-
You put in football terms. This is like Peter looking at
-
the Chiefs game and going, hey this is our moment, a the guy
-
that started the wave, right? Come on, guys, let's go.
-
Come on. Come on, everybody.
-
Listen to me and he's just starts.
-
It looks like a fool. There's like a fool star in the
-
wave in Bear. Been the first guy started a
-
wave, right? You look like an idiot.
-
How are those? Take it out, right?
-
Right. And no sudden start, people
-
start going right, and people start happening.
-
It's like, man. This is Peter.
-
This is a boldness and the courage to be the guy that
-
starts the way. Now, the reality is this,
-
Christian's termed. Peter was the guy who started
-
the way. Come on somebody.
-
He did. He rose up to the occasion, he
-
saw the spirit of God moving. He said, this is the moment that
-
God has made me for my name is Peter and this is the rock.
-
This is my time. This is the message I have for
-
these guys and he stood up with boldness and proclaimed, the
-
message of the wonders of God, and that's what were called to
-
do to, amen. It says, in Romans 1:16 says,
-
for I am not ashamed of the gospel because it's the power of
-
God to Salvation that bring Salvation to everyone who
-
believes Nice aim to share the good news, amen.
-
Because it's the power of God to change lives.
-
This is the power of God that people leave forever changed
-
because we shared Jesus and it's just the wonders of God, like I
-
don't deserve this, but main god, this is my life.
-
It says both first to the Jews and then to the Gentiles, we
-
just left the banner high. It's kind of representing Jesus,
-
you know, we got her, we got our Chiefs gear on.
-
Come on somebody, right. But, but we're Christians in
-
this tailgate part about to have.
-
I mean, I'm hope we have the wonderful God conversation.
-
Amen. It's not an accident.
-
You're going to sit next to somebody today news to how you
-
Doing it's a man's been a rough week because no one ever says
-
I'm great. It's amazing.
-
Right? And you say, you know what, I've
-
been there, been there a little bit but God did this.
-
You can share The Wonder of God for some of you can walk out
-
forever change. Be that guy?
-
That he's Jesus today. You'd walk out of the Holy
-
Spirit today because somebody's going to share the Wonder, you
-
see the Wonder, you see what we're seeing because you're not
-
worshipping with your arms raised and having some passion,
-
your voice and tear in your eye. You're not seeing what I'm
-
seeing. You're not seeing the same thing
-
and today we get to Point people to The Wonder of God, look up
-
here, does unplanned unscripted from the Verse 16.
-
He says no this is what spoken by the prophet.
-
Joel. Hey these guys aren't drunk.
-
This is actually found the Bible bro and I'm pretty sure he had
-
this memorized. So he goes up there and just,
-
bam, he's lays out on. This is found in Joel.
-
This was says, 417 the last days God says, I will pour out my
-
spirit on his people. That's what you're seeing your
-
sons and daughters, will prophesy your young.
-
Men will see Visions, your old men will dream dreams, even my
-
servants, both men and women. I will pour out my spirit in
-
those days. Days and they will prophesy.
-
I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the
-
earth below blood and fire and Billows of smoke.
-
The sun will be turned to Darkness and the moon into blood
-
before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
-
I think Peter got their attention, it's crazy.
-
What are you talking about? It says this verse 21, good news
-
and everyone who calls on the name of the Lord.
-
Will be saved Any Given Sunday any given moment.
-
You can have the promise of God of Salvation, it's to everybody.
-
Verse 22, the lose lights, listen to this.
-
This gospel presentation is awesome.
-
Jesus of Nazareth was a man a credit by God to you by Miracles
-
and wonders and signs, which God did among you through him.
-
As you yourselves know, this man was hand over to you, by God's
-
were playing for knowledge and you with the help of wicked men,
-
put him to death by nail him on the cross.
-
But God raised him from the dead free and from the agony of death
-
because it was impossible. For death to keep its, hold on
-
him. These guys are like, oh whoa,
-
the now we're now wow, Humble Pie.
-
He said, David is Old Testament. Shepherd, we talked about,
-
right? This the manager.
-
God's Own Heart, became the King right, Chef?
-
What he said, I saw the lord always before me, this would be
-
the greatest line for Christians.
-
By the way, I saw the Lord go before me, like I'm falling his
-
footsteps, because that my right hand and there's a verse for
-
everybody today, I will not be shaken.
-
I will not be shaken. I'll not be wavering.
-
Don't have fans xiety. Come on somebody, I'm not
-
worried about everything today or tonight or tomorrow.
-
I'm not so wrapped up in all these crazy stuff because I know
-
God and I will not be shaken. He says, therefore my heart is
-
glad and my tongue rejoices, my body will be rest and hope
-
because you will not abandon me in the realm of the Dead.
-
You will not let your Holy One. See Decay.
-
You have made known to me the path of life and you will fill
-
me with the joy in your presence, may God help us to be
-
the generation, that will not be shaken.
-
Amen. God help us with the generation
-
that fix our eyes on Jesus, and follows his way and his path.
-
And we have this Supernatural confidence to stand up.
-
A men to just know the world's going one way.
-
That's okay. We love them.
-
We care for him. We're following Jesus.
-
As for me and my house. I'm falling the Lord, right?
-
So Any Given Sunday, God can strengthen you, any given
-
moment, you call name of Jesus and say, okay God, you got this
-
verse 29 says, this fellow Israelites.
-
I can tell you confidently, that the patriarch David died and was
-
buried. Reed and his tomb is here to has
-
a, but he was a prophet and you knew that God had promised him
-
an oath that he would place on a thousand since on his throne and
-
seeing what was to come. He spoke of the resurrection of
-
Messiah and he was not abandoned to the realm of dead nor does by
-
see Decay, God has raised this Jesus to life and we are all
-
Witnesses of it right here. All of us.
-
We saw it with our eyes and exalted to the right hand of
-
God. He has received from the father
-
has promised, Holy Spirit, and has poured out what you now.
-
See and hear these words that were speaking today are coming
-
from the power of God. The reason you can hear also
-
your own language because of the presence of the Holy Spirit and
-
so he explains this to them that the sound is the holy spirit in
-
us. It will people go to church and
-
they're not used to not Christians and don't know about
-
Jesus. There should be something about
-
us. That's different that there's a
-
sound that shoot here. There's a, there's something
-
unique about us that we should put off.
-
There's an aroma of the Saints. Not, not a bad rumor.
-
Come on somebody Right? Now, some Old Spice Aroma, but
-
there's an aroma of Grace. Amen.
-
And the people should always says about you.
-
There's something different about this guy, this lady, but I
-
don't know exactly what it is. It's the wonders of God.
-
Amen. It's the grace of God in your
-
life. It's a spirit of God, moving the
-
hearts of his people, and there's nothing more exciting
-
than sharing the heart of God, and the one who's got to
-
somebody else. This last few weeks have been
-
really fun, and exciting and a little We lost the Hope Center,
-
and we've had a, there's this homeless man in tray, and he's
-
been stopping in at random times.
-
Could be really late night. I don't know why I'm still
-
there, but he stops in, right? And it's happened over and over
-
again and so we just kind of modulation with them and it was
-
so awesome, couple weeks. He owes couple things, couple
-
fries ago, two Fridays ago, me Bill and Dan, Daniel might, how
-
does he has come out? And we sat down with Trey and we
-
got to share with him. The wonders of God because he
-
stuck in the spot. I want to help him through his
-
going through physical. Really.
-
But there's still a war going on his heart for the things of God.
-
Amen. And it was so cool to watch
-
these guys who've walked through the same path.
-
And the same things say, you know what, this is, what God did
-
in my life. This is The Wonder of God.
-
Amen. And so, I can't give you
-
everything to fix your life that I can't give you Jesus and I can
-
encourage you to follow him. And walk this guy, it was just
-
amazing. It was a Spirit Led conversation
-
through. There was tears that it's like
-
coming in like a man or boiled leaving like a mankind thing.
-
I was like, man, this is what the church does.
-
Amen. We just share the good news and
-
help people encourage people, but throughout is We play a
-
story every single day. I'm telling you there's you look
-
back on your life and those moments you want on The Fray and
-
you stood for God and you shared the things of God with somebody,
-
maybe it was in private and his lunch conversation, maybe he's
-
on the phone with somebody. You always go back and say, oh
-
man, I'm so proud. I'm so glad that you shared
-
Jesus that it wasn't silence. The holy spirit is moving in my
-
life and I just couldn't help because I've got some good news
-
to share a Min. This is what Peter does.
-
He stands up? Declares the goodness of God.
-
Verse 34 says, this for David did not ascend.
-
Heaven and yet he said the Lord said to my Lord sit at my right
-
hand, until I make your enemies a footstool to your feet,
-
therefore let all of Israel. Be assured of this.
-
God has made this Jesus. Whom you crucified both Lord and
-
Messiah. Now that's not bad for a launch.
-
Sunday message. Come on, somebody, I mean
-
unrehearsed out of nowhere. The spirit of God is moving
-
their tongues. What's going on people come
-
together as a crowd this my moment and he just brings the
-
word of God to these Jewish people and their Context in
-
their way. Not bad for a failure like
-
Peter. Come on somebody.
-
Right. A guy that sank a guy that went
-
barely a guy that have it together not bad for a
-
fisherman, right? An uneducated fisherman.
-
That fact in Matthew 4:19 is pretty cool that Jesus told
-
Peter and the disciples said follow me and I'll make you
-
Fishers of Men, dude, I bet, come on, Jesus, he taught feed
-
on fish. Come on somebody, right?
-
I mean, you lose going to catch 3,000 people with this net.
-
He's gonna preach this message people come to Christ.
-
This is exactly what Jesus set out to do was To Boldly
-
proclaim. The good news of Jesus, verse 37
-
says this and when the people heard this, they were cut to the
-
heart and said to Peter and the other Apostles, this is how he
-
knows a good message, right here, Brothers.
-
What shall we do? What shall we do now?
-
That's how, you know, the message of God.
-
Hit the hearts of people. See.
-
That's why I love that Peter Peter and get Peter didn't give
-
some drying exegetical crazy up here.
-
Theological, Exposition these things that nobody understand he
-
to put up here. Peter brought the cookies are
-
low shelf. Come on somebody.
-
Like I'm not very smart so I'm going to go down here.
-
I can reach these cookies and Peter just looked at the crowd
-
and said, this is what they need and he spoke to them.
-
He saw where they're at and he preached right into their Art
-
matter fact, if you go back to the, the movie, Any Given
-
Sunday, came out 99, how Pacino gives a speech right now?
-
Remember the speech you just kind of lays on him.
-
He says, football is about inches and all you gots the guy
-
next to you and the six inches in front of him knowing that
-
he's willing to die. For those six inches, you will
-
die for yours. He says lies about inches and
-
Rowdy for God. Here it is, most people they
-
know Jesus up here but the reality is the difference makes
-
is there. 13 inches to your heart to know Jesus here.
-
Amen. And Peter Cut to the heart.
-
Amen, he spoke right here to those people and today I'm
-
hoping that God is speaking to your heart.
-
Amen, the Holy Spirit speaking here, not here.
-
This is an educational ceremony or Sunday.
-
This is about the spirit of God speaking to you.
-
So verse 38 says this and Peter replied repent, they asked what
-
to do. And so he tells them it's right
-
here. He says, repent and be baptized
-
every one of you. In the name of Jesus Christ for
-
the Forgiveness of sins, you know, turn from your way.
-
You need to run to Jesus. He didn't forgive you and set
-
you free. He said you baptized go public
-
with your faith. He says, for the Forgiveness of
-
your sins, and you'll receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
-
Do you know, you can walk out the Holy Spirit today, check out
-
what it says. It says, verse 39 says, the
-
promise is for you, talking to these Old Testament God-fearing
-
men and women, there are there in the room.
-
This giant Crouch to say it's not for you only, it's for your
-
children. Come on, somebody.
-
The good news is going to go through this generation to the
-
Next Generation and for all who are far off.
-
That's us. Thank God.
-
Amen. That this gospel is for all
-
people that are far off. Our mission is Reach people, far
-
from God, Amen for all whom the Lord God will call This Promise
-
is for us and the Any Given Sunday you could call in the
-
spirit of God, really any day and spirit God will change your
-
life. You can you can confess The
-
Jesus, repent turn from your ways and God will save you, and
-
make you new verse 40, says, this with many other words, he
-
warned them. So, Peter really allowed to say,
-
good preacher, right? And he pleaded with them.
-
He said, save yourself some scrubs generation.
-
Those who accept? This message were baptized and
-
about 3,000 were added to the number that day.
-
Not bad for a launch Sunday. Come on somebody, right.
-
We had 345 people, we do not have 3,000 people.
-
Get baptized come to Christ. Come on.
-
SO Peter, man. Relations that is a great start
-
to the church and I think about that.
-
Those three thousand people showed up by Sunday.
-
Dr. Going to the Feast of the Harvest.
-
They came to Pentecost to celebrate, the law have been
-
given to Father. Same rituals, the same old story
-
religion, to do the same old thing.
-
Those three thousand people had no idea that that Sunday was
-
there, Sunday there. No idea what they're walking
-
into, they had no idea that they're walking into a Revival,
-
they had no idea their walk into the presence of Of the Holy
-
Spirit. They had no idea about the war
-
that Jesus wage for their soul that no idea that Peter had a
-
promise who's going to stand on that day is you bring the word
-
with power from memory from his heart with great expectation.
-
That God would move those 3,000 people didn't know it was their
-
Super Bowl Sunday. I'm here today to tell you that
-
every Sunday every day is somebody Super Bowl Sunday.
-
Amen. And maybe that's you today,
-
Maybe today you recognize, you need.
-
Jesus and today is Jewish serve your soup will suck.
-
And that this what happens when the expectation is set, this is
-
what happens. Look at it goes on.
-
Last passage, we're done verse 42.
-
They being all these new Christians, devote themselves to
-
the apostles teaching and to Fellowship to Breaking of bread
-
and to prayer. This is a team built on faith.
-
Come on somebody is that this is a winning team.
-
This is a recipe. Andy Reed can take this passage
-
and say this is how As a Christian, both red, praying
-
verse 43. Everyone was filled with awe in
-
The Many Wonders of science is over the apostles, their
-
student, all God, The Wonder of God, this point the I'd say,
-
Okay God I can't do this, this is amazing, they hung
-
themselves, no Blues were together United, everything in
-
common, they sold property possessions, and give to anyone
-
that had me there in love with Jesus and they cared for each
-
other deeply, and every day they continue to meet together.
-
I'm in the temple courts. I love this no longer were.
-
They were they relict or they were recluse to a room or to a
-
house. They said, bro, if we're going
-
to use a church, we're going to reach the Jews first.
-
We're going to set up church. Right there, the temple courts.
-
Come on, somebody were to go public with our faith.
-
We're not going to launch somewhere.
-
That's hidden. Where you put the light up on
-
top of the hill so the world can see it.
-
So, we're going public. So every Sunday through the walk
-
bias, we go, what's going on? Oh yeah, we're worshiping Jesus.
-
You will know about Jesus and they're reaching the world.
-
Amen. There stood up like Peter.
-
Stood said, the example and they broke bread in their homes.
-
Ate together. Gladys, is your hearts praising,
-
God, and join the favorite, all people, and the Lord added to
-
their number daily. Those who were being saved.
-
Is it any coincidence that people were coming to Christ
-
every single day? They look at their patterns,
-
right? Why do they do this?
-
Why they share in common, why, they why they go public, why
-
they share the gospel, what was it?
-
They had some good news, right? The good news, the gospel and
-
they witness for themselves that the spirit of God was like,
-
we're getting this out. It's coming through your lips,
-
bro. To a loss of Dying World.
-
You're going to speak that language.
-
Good news is most you guys in here, speak English, come on
-
somebody. So you've been equipped by the
-
power of God, to tell the person next to you about Jesus, amen.
-
And we have good news, we're sharing good news.
-
That should be kept silence these men.
-
They did everything they could to get the news out to share the
-
good news of Jesus. And today as Christians that's
-
our Mission. Amen, it's a share that same.
-
Good news, not to be a jerk or to be judgy or to be ruthless.
-
You love people to Jesus. You lay yourself down and say,
-
it's only because of God and your humble because you don't
-
deserve it. We're at that special, not that
-
strong. But Jesus is we point people to
-
Jesus. So as Christians we show up on
-
Sunday, we come with, great expectation.
-
A men that God is going to move, amen.
-
That's what we believe and what we didn't walk Your men hope God
-
doesn't know. God is willing to do something.
-
Are we ready? Are we prepared?
-
We prayed up, is it personalized?
-
Are you walking with like a purpose and intention?
-
Are you talking to people about the wonders of God or you?
-
Are you leaving your family? Well, do you go home and say,
-
hey guys, let's talk about that. It was God, showing you may God
-
was speaking to me about this, it was getting the Bible, never
-
read pin it Pentecost, I'm gonna know more about that.
-
Google Pentecost, not be like Grace, Study Bible the world,
-
but you learned something, right?
-
Because we're after things, I've got the here's the reality for
-
some of you guys today is your Super Bowl Sunday.
-
Somebody can look back at this date in February 12th. 2023 you
-
go. Yeah.
-
Those are the Chiefs one. Come on, somebody.
-
Come on, hold my predictions right next week I'll get bagged
-
on right. But here's the reality.
-
You're a look back at this day and you say, you know what the
-
Chiefs won, but something else happened to so much greater for
-
my life. The Holy Spirit came on my life
-
was poured out in my life. Does it changed me?
-
Come on, Dano might forever changed by the power of God, the
-
change. It looked that the gospel that
-
you will receive today. It's not for just for you.
-
Come on, is that is for your children, it is for all people.
-
And so we get this pleasure of knowing Jesus, and they were
-
going to bring that Jesus to all people.
-
And today, we didn't just change a person by the power of the
-
Holy Spirit. We changed a generation of
-
people. Amen.
-
Super Bowl Sunday, Any Given Sunday, God can do anything and
-
change lives. That's the expectation.
-
We go to church and follow Jesus Paulie.
-
God, we come before you and I pray, God, that we've been kind
-
of The stand up with bold Faith. Got all pray for a group people.
-
Today that are Jesus follows. Those are no Jesus.
-
Maybe they had a private faith and your private worship, maybe
-
they've been private may be slow in their prayers and then
-
praying for all these things and low expectation.
-
But today they realized today that they need to stand up like
-
Peter that they have good news to share that they've lost the
-
Wonder with the now they're remembering.
-
Today going through this story in Acts chapter 2 that they need
Acts 2 chapter mention
-
to be in all of God and so they are Pray for those G's false sat
-
there, that's me. Donny is stand up like Peter.
-
I have the The Wonder of God in my eye and the worship of the
-
full heart. That's me days of Christian that
-
she's put your hand. I said to me God's Boon my life
-
to stand up, come on, we'll cross this room with the end of
-
that's you. Come on.
-
Father, you see the hands into the hearts, God call us out into
-
The Fray. God calls the moments.
-
We have to speak without notes, cause those moments, we can
-
share Jesus with somebody next to us.
-
We just want people to heaven. Got less be the generation.
-
That's no longer. Her shaken as anything from this
-
generation is exactly and fear. But they believe in the power of
-
God and the peace of God, the presence of God, the holy
-
spirit. So God strengthen us as Jesus
-
followers to live on mission for you and unity everyday.
-
Molded. Proclaiming the good news of
-
Jesus. I pray for one more group people
-
and that's those. You may recognize today is your
-
Super Bowl Sunday. You recognize that Any Given
-
Sunday got to do anything. Just 50 days before Pentecost.
-
Jesus did the the On that Sunday, that changed your life.
-
It can change your life forever. He died on the cross and he was
-
resurrected a Resurrection Sunday with your freedom in
-
hand. He was crucified and put to
-
death for your sins. He paid for everything in your
-
life that was wrong. All your sin, past present and
-
future. They Rose Victorious bosses.
-
You call the name of Jesus to be saved or given.
-
And made new Bible says, the Holy Spirit was poured into you
-
that you'd be in 12. The holy spirit that the God
-
will the universe will be and you'll be forever changed by the
-
power. Power of God that you're a part
-
of the promise that Peter preached about today, for all
-
people and that's us. So they if you need, Jesus need
-
the Holy Spirit. May be forgiven and made new
-
that shoe that can be looking around.
-
We just raise your hand high this place today in the Super
-
Bowl. Sunday is my Sunday.
-
We put your hands high this place.
-
I need Jesus, come on, a see, your hand.
-
I see your hand. Maybe I'll slice your hand, the
-
back he does. I need Jesus, while this is your
-
Sunday, this is for you. This all for you.
-
Come on. Well, if you need Jesus, I don't
-
you. Ask you for his prayer to God
-
and it Prudence a view, buzzers your faith in God.
-
And say this father God, thank you for sending your best.
-
This Super Bowl Sunday for Sydney.
-
Jesus, for me. God, will you forgive me?
-
I Repent, I turn from myself. Not trust in you.
-
And God, I'm going to worship you with a full heart today.
-
Got my serve, you at the full heart and today, on the forever,
-
tell the story. Now, Super Bowl Sunday, not just
-
a football game, but my Super Bowl Sunday, you changed my life
-
forever. God, give me bold.
-
Ation to go out and share the gospel to live for you to stand
-
up in my generation. This situation behind me saving
-
changed because this moment God. We love you.
-
We thank you and praise in Jesus name and everybody said amen.
-
Come on. Give it up for guys doing.
-
Man, what an awesome day. And if this is your super
-
soldier Super Bowl Sunday, spiritually speaking, and
-

-
decision for God. Can I tell you that we're all
-

-

-
It's a great way to get started off on the right foot and get
-
some people in your corner that are just going to help you make
-
the next steps to to follow God. And the way that he's calling
-
you to do another greatest next steps.
-
If you're with us a person on your way out of the Worship
-
Center, there's a red bag, grab one of those side.
-
There's a Bible, there's a link to some other great resources.
-
We want you guys to have that to grab that.
-
I love what Pastor Sean talked about having Enthusiasm, talking
-
about the things of God, the wonders of God is two things.
-
That when we're passionate about stuff, it just naturally comes.
-
So I've got a couple of great next steps for you guys.
-
And the first one is this, if you guys don't know about
-
YouVersion app, I would really encourage you guys to grab that.
-
Download it. Take over a billion people have.
-
So you're late to the party if you don't have it, but grab your
-
phone and bring that and download it.
-
What you guys can do is here at real life.
-
We have an events page and so if you follow that, Pastor showing
-
son, has a sermon says, But you guys can, as you guys were
-
listening to you guys, to write something down.
-
That we're God's touch your heart, you can go back.
-
You can share it on a car ride home in life group.
-
They talk about in staff meetings, what a great way to
-
declare the wonders of God. Just by going through a message
-
that we've gone through here, it is getting in God's word because
-
God is going to reveal stuff to you that you'll never ever come
-
up with on your own. So check out that a second.
-
Great thing is this is if you guys want to be like Peter and
-
your family and take a stand and stand up and declare declare
-
publicly This is my family and I stand for God.
-
We got something really cool coming up on March, the 5th and
-
it's called child dedication Sunday.
-
So, if you've got a little one, a baby or maybe even our older
-
child, that you've never dedicated.
-
You want to take that opportunity to stand in front of
-
the world, front of this group and say me as for me and my
-
family, we're going to follow God, what a great opportunity.
-
You can sign up online who have people that pray over you as you
-
just commit, your family and dedicated to God and just a
-
great time. If you haven't ever been to one,
-
just a powerful time. Where's the church?
-
We wrap our arms around. Around a family that just wants
-
to do the right thing and follow God in their family.
-
On your way out of here, don't rush out.
-
We're going to have something really cool.
-
Got a tailgate party. You guys ready for a party?
-
I know you guys are a lot. See a red out there.
-
A lot of Chief and we're going to have a great time.
-
And here's the thing, we're going to have a blast just
-
celebrating with the Chiefs are getting ready to do tonight but
-
really it's a pretext and it's just like Peter and the apostles
-
and the early church they hung out.
-
So this again. An opportunity for us to hang
-
out because this tailgate party, it's about the Chiefs.
-
But more importantly it's about souls because I love hanging out
-
with you guys I love to hear your stories what God is doing
-
in your life. So don't rush out where have a
-
lot of cool things in the best of all.
-
It's my favorite word. It is free.
-
You guys like free especially brats, hot dogs.
-
Can't wait to hang out with you and really this all flows out of
-
generosity flows out of the dress generosity of your guys
-
was hard and one of the things that Pastor Sean read that I
-
still loved and it's just encouraging to my heart.
-
Did you guys see what happened in the early church?
-
Church. When they were on Mission
-
together. They sold property.
-
They gave stuff away to the people that were in need and
-
they brought it into the house, you know?
-
Why is because they had a big vision for what God wanted and
-
they love their community and they love people in the church
-
and I want you guys to continue to do you guys do this so well,
-
so once you just continue to extend your generosity and to
-
2023 as we move the mission of God Ford in our community and as
-
always, you can connect with generosity three ways here at
-
real life. Number one, you can go online to
-
Real Life Church kc.com number, To, you can text any amount 843
-
to wonder if you want to use your cash or cheque, there's a
-
giving box at the back or in the buckets there.
-
Get ready passed a couple things if you're new at this.
-
This isn't for you. We don't want anything from you.
-
We want something for you. We are so glad that you are here
-
to celebrate football Sunday with us to hear God's vision of
-
what he has for your life. Last thing is, if you or your
-
family, find yourself an immediate need of food clothing
-
or shelter is these buckets past.
-
Please feel free to reach in and grab any loose cash that you see
-
to help your family at this time of need.
-
Hey take A quick second. We've got an awesome video on.
-
What the youth is getting ready to do launch at Hope Center?
-
Check it out. Hey guys, I am standing here
-
with Anna and we had gotten amazing opportunity to get to
-
know her over the past couple of months or family started
-
attending here. And she started to come to real
-
life, you can just really get invested in involved and I
-
really just wanted you guys to have an opportunity to hear a
-
little bit about her story. We had an opportunity to a
-
couple weeks ago, just about her commitment and passion for God
-
and like, kind of what draw that out in her just her decisions
-
personally, to really pursue. Ooh, him on her own.
-
So once you tell us a little bit about that in a, what does make
-
you decide? And how this passion for serving
-
God on your own? I started in the young age are
-
terms. Like my mom had always raised me
-
to go to church and then eventually on and I believe it
-
was sixth grade. I ended up getting baptized and
-
I was just going through a rough time.
-
And I'm like, all right, we're just gonna give everything to
-
God. I put everything in God's hands
-
and just really give it all. And honestly, like with youth,
-
it connects so much and like, they've phrase things
-
differently in like, In our terms of just giving our lives
-
to God is something so amazing. And just giving your life to God
-
and expensive, sold for stress-free.
-
And like makes things so much easier life.
-
Yeah. So she was talking to me a
-
little bit about just how she decided, you know, just a couple
-
of months ago, just doesn't matter whether her church is
-
going to continue to go. Whether her friends around her,
-
going to continue to go, to church with she decided on her
-
own that she was going to pursue time.
-
Not just sending mornings and makes youth apriority as well.
-
And she's really got some super connected.
-
With everybody there. And so I just wanted her to kind
-
of share a little bit about to about just what youth looks like
-
on a Sunday night for you and what makes you keep coming back
-
each and every week you on Sundays is such a good
-
environment. Like being able to build those
-
bonds with teams like my age and just that also have that same
-
love for God. As I do, it's just I love being
-
able to build those connections and be able to share my love for
-
God and others and bringing friends was like part of it,
-
like, oh well, I share my love of Jesus with them and they just
-
fall in love. Jesus as much as I do and just
-
yeah, it's really cool to see. And she's had a friend that's
-
been coming with her super regularly and just to see not
-
only the change in her life of the change in her friends like
-
just from coming each and every week.
-
We have you guys haven't heard. We're launching in the Hope
-
Center in just a few weeks. On the 19th.
-
We are so excited to finally sit down some Roots here and reach
-
to more people and our city. Without further Ado, Emma, there
-
was some people sitting in the audience here today because some
-
teenagers may be some adults and you just have been hesitant with
-
like taking that next step to really like, Check real life.
-
He's out. See what it's about.
-
What would you tell them? I would say, give it a shot.
-
Like you can't not want to do something.
-
If you don't try it. Like there's you have to take
-
that step of faith and just give it a shot because I was hesitant
-
to try new Trojans after my old one.
-
But I have finds like he's looking to love me, no matter
-
where I'm at, just giving that next step and really try it.
-
And if you don't like it try again, because every Surfer
-
sermon is different. Yeah, I was love that.
-
If you don't like it, try again. And just Keep coming.
-
So we would love to see your student, you may be sitting in
-
the audience today. I realized you've on the 19th,
-
check it out. At our Hope Center come hang out
-
with Emma and come hang out with me.
-
You cannot wait to see you guys on the 19th when we launch into
-
Hope Center. We are so pumped to hang out
-
with. You were going to make sure that
-
we save you a seat. Can we get for the Hope Center
-
and the youth group locks? You do you know what I see when
-
I see a video like that. I see two things.
-
I see a church that has invested in the Next Generation because
-
who knows who comes through that door?
-
The next Pastor, the expeditionary, the next business
-
leader, that loves Jesus and changes the world and it happens
-
because of what you guys did in your vest is.
-
So it's going to be so cool to just to see how God uses the
-
Hope Center and the real-life you through that.
-
So, I'm so excited about the hey, couple quick housekeeping
-
things. So, I need her for everybody, as
-
we dismiss here to head on out of here, we gotta Clear.
-
This space. We're going to take chairs down
-
and set up tables. You guys can go and hang out in
-
the hub for a minute. If you have kids, go and get
-
them checked out because we want the whole team to come out to
-
have a part of this party. Soon as we get that setup will
-
get you guys back in here. We're going to have an awesome
-
time. Can't wait to hang out with you
-
guys out there if you need prayer for any reason to have a
-
team member, we would love to pray with you.
-
And as always, remember whoever finds Jesus discovers real life
-
and purpose,
