-
Mentos, thankful that my single my shame are dead.
-
Jordan has rejoiced system. Heaven has come on.
-
This is the best part. About this moment of
-
resurrection, and God came about of the Grave with the Bible says
-
that the same power that raised Jesus, from the grave is living
-
in you. And this next song we're going
-
to celebrate that that same God raised him from the grave.
-
He's alive and working today. He has the power to change the
-
power to grow. I've got my own child.
-
Your children, you are the same. That's right.
-
Come on, let's give it a pig for the same God, the god of
-
History, The God Who created it all, you know, I love that line
-
in that song that references. You know we just had the message
-
on it a few weeks ago the I may not face Goliath but I've got my
-
own Giants. Maybe you're feeling that today
-
maybe you're in a season right now where you just feel like
-
everywhere you turn you're facing another giant.
-
But know this, the god That created this whole thing, the
-
god of the Bible. It's not just a book.
-
Amen. The god of history is in this
-
room with us right now, the same.
-
God is touching hearts in this building right now.
-
And I know last week, man, we were getting all on fire for our
-
Kansas City Chiefs and that was awesome.
-
But can we get excited about that?
-
Same God this morning, can you let Him here today God is in
-
this place and if you don't know him yet, that's okay.
-
I promise you this. He wants to know you.
-
He wants to start that this morning.
-
Amen. Man!

We exist in Real Life Church, we set this up, we tear this down,
-
we do the fun, the events every single week because we just want
-
to To honor God. And we just want to help people
-
find those. Especially those that are far
-
from God, find their real life and purpose.
-
In Jesus, I just want to take a minute and thank you.
-
Thanks to everybody. That's been inviting people out
-
having those real conversations with family and friends and
-
neighbors and co-workers, man. God just really, really just
-
honoring honoring those efforts were seeing the fruits of that
-
as just more and more people come and hang out each week and
-
hear about the God who loves them, and I just encourage you.
-
If you do Feel like you're currently on Mission anywhere,
-
let alone here real life church. I just want to give you the
-
invitation. Join us on Mission.
-
We would love to, have you love to serve side by side with use?
-
We just see what God has for this community in 2023 and
-
Beyond. Well guys, it's all about souls
-
and a big part of it, too is relationships righted.
-
And this is kind of that season that Valentine season, we really
-
start thinking about relationships and maybe going a
-
little bit. It deeper than what we post on
-
social media, right? It's always easy.
-
When you're having the good hair day, you went to the really cool
-
date night spot. So you got the selfie the
-
makeups looking good. Ladies guys, he finally got the
-
hair to part, you know, we get that right.
-
But relationships aren't always what we throw out there on
-
Instagram, are they? Well I'm stoked and Sean's going
-
to start a brand new series today I'm going to backtrack for
-
a second guys, this is you could be single, you could be married,
-
you could be somewhere in between.
-
Back in the day on Facebook used to be able to park.
-
It's complicated right? It could be whatever.
-
There's something for you today. God has a word for you today as
-
we just really dive in and focus about building these
-
relationships on God, on his foundation.
-
So welcome to the stage Sean Petrie, he's gonna give us some
-
hashtag relationship goals. Give up for Shawn, everyone,
-
come on. Thanks Drew guys have a blessed
-
week that really good week. Uh, met last Sunday Lon Jaya
-
pentecost's, right? Yes.
-
Couple expecting day to worship and I was excited to see what
-
God's going to do. A Daniel might come on, he blew
-
it up on the Super Bowl night by the way.
-
This guy's got crazy stories of fire but man last week was just
-
amazing. Just talk through Pentecost and
-
spirit of God and awake and doing this place.
-
Come expecting for God to move and we had a little party
-
afterward little tailgate party on say.
-
Thank you guys hung out the chief did not disappoint.
-
Come on somebody. What a game that's my Shameless
-
plug. I'll be done with the Chiefs
-
move on. Till next year sighs sad.
-
Season. They're right.
-
But today's a special day in house is.
-
Well, I saw some you guys with some coffee cups.
-
Come on somebody, it's all that out there.
-
Could you guys give it up for our freshmen Team?
-
Real led by Brian and Judy come all them.
-
Know you love them. Serve the first cup of coffee
-
this morning and I was like, have you tasted that yet?
-
It's like, no. I'll just just make sure, you
-
know, gonna make sure you're not poison or something.
-
So then we pass it around the big huddle I was I was at the
-
end I was like we're not passing that around right it's gonna get
-
weird right maybe but today's gonna be really special as well,
-
we got something very unique tonight.
-
Some of this would've been prayed for playing for fundraise
-
for worked. Our tail off for really over
-
last year and a half or two years.
-
And so tonight, our real-life youth is launching into the
-
real-life. Epicenter.
-
Come on somebody man and go. God, right?
-
We've been waiting for a place of our own just a place.
-
Boo looking for, we set out place, not only to do ministry
-
and serve the community, but a place for our youth and that
-
made it really tricky to find a spot.
-
And so God loves to this place and was working her tail off.
-
And I won't tell you something. Specials gonna happen that
-
place. It's really starving new season,
-
it's really the Revival season. There's a Revival Happening Here
-
in nine states. Amen, then fall in that mud
-
watching national news. Just Jesus getting brought up
-
everywhere. It's like, what is this?
-
We don't understand it. Well, that's okay, it's just
-
God's moving, right? And people just are just curious
-
to see and I'm just believing that for a next generation of
-
young people I'm a product of youth, ministry product of Youth
-
Camp. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't
-
for God changing hearts in a setting like that and so I would
-
encourage you as parents not to take a back seat to this don't
-
show up tonight and go through Carline.
-
Drop the kids off, I would encourage you to park the car,
-
get out and walk in that. Space me some people and say a
-
prayer. Prayer for God to use a space.
-
We're in a spiritual battle for our teens.
-
Amen. And we're creating Warriors for
-
the cause of Christ and bastarz. The cause of Christ.
-
People are mission driven that can not only change their world,
-
but the world. And so we take it dead serious.
-
And we're excited to see what God's going to do.
-
And so be praying for our team tonight.
-
I'll be out there. I know a lot of our staff teams
-
out there really, just to cheer on the things of God.
-
And so be praying, really for a viable start and our young
-
people and it always starts. They're done it.
-
The young at heart, I should say, come on.
-
Right. And I'm excited for God's going
-
to do what we're launching this week.
-
Was a Valentine's Day. So we're launching a little
-
series on relationships, loves in the air.
-
Come on somebody. I don't hear any guys a story
-
because you probably all I did mirror all sick this week, so
-
it'll kind of sideways, but, but I'm encouraged to really speak
-
on this relationship goals. We've done this series in the
-
past, but we've dropped all the content kept the logo, and wrote
-
a whole new series. And we're look at really
-
relationships in the Bible, famous relationships, all across
-
the Bible that we can learn from From both good and bad.
-
Amen. There's two actually no
-
perforation the Bible outside of the Father Son and the Holy
-
Spirit. So we're looking at just flawed
-
people in man. I'll tell you what the Bible's
-
more like a Jerry Springer episode relationships.
-
I'm just telling you if the proof of God's existence is how
-
accurate. And how really honest the Bible
-
is about people's lives. And as a pastor, I see this so
-
often people get stuck so easily in their relationships.
-
It's like they fall in love and maybe a mission to Christ
-
together. They get your certain level, and
-
they plateau. It's like a holding pattern like
-
wash rinse, repeat, just kind of floats to this level.
-
It is stays there until something changes either gets
-
broken or it's built. And it's so easy to get stuck
-
and I see it time and time again.
-
Maybe it's just stuck because you maybe change at kids and
-
your professional Uber driver for your children.
-
Come all somebody. Your the snack provider, there's
-
a lot of words you can put in there.
-
If you see a lot of memes, right?
-
All the moms are laughing because I know exactly what it
-
looks like, right, it's really easy to look around.
-
Round and say, man, I wish I had something else, it's easy to get
-
a spot where it just doesn't feel like it's going anywhere.
-
The passion is gone, the feelings of love of disappeared
-
and looking at you like the grass is greener over there.
-
Come on somebody and they got the feels and maybe you see
-
potential somewhere else and it's easy to look out and just
-
maybe be a little jealous of what you don't have.
-
And I was going to give you a little word today, and this
-
isn't directly from the Bible is acts for my dad.
-
So it's extra Bible all but he always told me this said Son,
-
The grass always greener on the septic tank.
-
Come on somebody. Ya'll said the other side of the
-
fence so do the septic tank and it's the truth, you know?
-
In other words, it's really simple.
-
If you don't like what you're getting change, what you're
-
giving. If the grass and your marriage
-
is withered and raw water, it water your own grass.
-
Come on somebody. If you got some weeds, get some
-
weed killer you know, change some things, get some fat,
-
should maybe get that rake? Out.
-
Do some hard work. Come on, somebody water.
-
Your own grass is so easy to say, well, I wish I had this and
-
wish I had this, but yeah, bro, you don't see what's beneath the
-
surface, do you. All right.
-
Is a septic tank grown up. Thank you, Dad for that, by the
-
way. So, we should say this to him,
-
he doesn't come to church, but he'll appreciate me saying this,
-
but the good news is this. You can look all throughout the
-
Bible and you see relationships and they're all broken.
-
They're all flawed. And we can learn so much from
-
these people. Let's think about some of the
-
most famous relationships in the Bible.
-
I think about Adam and Eve go back.
-
Go back to the very beginning, right?
-
These guys are imperfection. They're made perfectly the way
-
God wanted to make of their knit together.
-
A Believer made for each other like you complete me.
-
I mean it's the perfect setup and they're walking the cool,
-
the garden with with God himself in the presence of God and then
-
what happens Pride Wells up right now, they start falling
-
into sin. They were looking at this, they
-
touch the app on the phone to send, and then they start doing
-
the blame game, right? They have the OG fight, and the
-
start yelling at each other. And then I start blaming God and
-
the serpent all the stuff, and then they basically get evicted.
-
While somebody the first couple of Bible gets evicted from the
-
garden. Right ever?
-
Thought about that, they put the cherubim and six wings and it's
-
Garden the East Side. The guard is a flaming sword.
-
I mean you talk about Jerry Springer episode very first
-
couple to Puli messes it up, right?
-
Then you got Adam and Sarah and that a promise that they have a
-
son and be a father of a great nation and really they were side
-
about all his newlyweds are maybe, you know, the prophecy
-
off your life, your side about things of God but the timing
-
wasn't right. Maybe grew impatient and so
-
Sarah says, hey, here's this. Servant Hagar will have a child
-
through her basis. God's Will.
-
And they talk themselves into the dumbest stuff, don't they?
-
It changed the course of history.
-
I want you to think about some of the other couples in the
-
Bible. You have Jose and Gomer.
-
It was a who's married to Gomer, who cheats on going to?
-
This is Gomer Gomer or she-go Retreat, San Jose, and gomers a
-
prostitute. And it's just picture of God's
-
grace for us, waiting on us, and hosea's waiting for gonna come
-
back and it's a picture of grace and mercy, but isn't messed up
-
relationship. Do talk about Jacob and Rachel.
-
I mean, This is Love at First Sight, right?
-
I'm he saw he saw Rachel and he's like, I've got to be with
-
Rachel and so his father-in-law promised her fall in love
-
promises, his fellow promises seven years you work for me and
-
you have Rachel coercion fulfill his promise he gives older
-
sister when be fair, you know, if Leah wasn't, you know, had a
-
spouse. And so Works, another seven
-
years. So it's guys wronged and
-
mistreated boy. He must love that.
-
Girl, come on somebody, right 14 years, he works for her hand.
-
You think about Joseph and Mary? I mean, you might not think
-
about their couple with this. But you think about this the
-
Holy Spirit, overshadows Mary? She conceives, Jesus and Joseph
-
is kind of bewildered, like, what am I supposed to do?
-
This makes no sense in the angel, Comforts them.
-
And Joseph, accepts a plan of God, and Joseph.
-
You may not consider him this, but he becomes one of the
-
greatest examples of a stepfather and all of history.
-
Amen. You may never thought Joseph.
-
As a stepdad, this not his kid but he raised him as if his own
-
kid. It's incredible to see what God
-
can do through broken families. Amen.
-
And so if your family's a Jerry, Springer a little bit, come on
-
somebody, you're in good company.
-
Amen. Because all the stories in the
-
Bible, have Brokenness their stories that people wouldn't
-
have written. Which is why I love the Bible
-
because there's no way that any human would have said, hey, this
-
is my jacked-up Family. Come on somebody.
-
Right. This is the first reality TV
-
show. No one was seven.
-
So good news for your days, you've been divorced.
-
Come on somebody. And oftentimes, you know, Church
-
you like Manuel. It's about marriage and
-
Perfection, all this stuff. But if you've had the struggle,
-
right, if you've been in the messy middle, if you've been
-
down the road, maybe you're stuck in counseling and things
-
are changing. And you don't know what to do,
-
guess what? You're in?
-
Good company. Amen.
-
Or maybe you've been together been together for a long time.
-
Maybe you're not married, just cohabitating.
-
Well, guess what? The Bible has worked for you to,
-
amen. Maybe you're fighting for that
-
affection, or the attention of that lady, or that guy and you
-
put on the move, so, hopefully, the veteran Travis Kelsey's
-
moves. Come on somebody.
-
I saw that movie. I thought that's, that's not
-
when nobody, but that's cool. You big do, what you want.
-
Travis Travis, Kelce do He wants to do, right?
-
He has the best lines. By the way, can't quote him at
-
church, but that's awesome, right?
-
Just telling you, right? Maybe, Linda promiscuous,
-
lifestyle and high school college Beyond and you just
-
coming down the road and you feel that shame, you feel dirty,
-
you feel unlovable. Maybe you're as young person or
-
maybe in a relationship, you're taking advantage of, maybe you
-
feel incomplete, you feel broken.
-
You feel like you're not whole that you feel unlovable, and
-
that God can use you. Amen.
-
Maybe you're the person who's committed adultery and
-
Relationship, or maybe the person that's been cheated on,
-
or cheat against, or maybe you just given up on God's promise,
-
maybe you start out well, and you're not in for things of
-
Christ, and then the hard Seasons came, right?
-
The drought came. The kids came, all the
-
financials changed and you're going to season just struggling
-
in your own strength, in your own power.
-
Maybe the season is no longer Netflix and chill.
-
Maybe it's just Netflix. Come on somebody right.
-
Your marriage has got a little cold in the intimacy is turned
-
into this TV. Come on, sounds familiar for so
-
many people, right? If your Anything but nuclear or
-
feels like it could go nuclear. This message is for you.
-
Amen. We all can relate to this
-
message, right. This is all about the Bible.
-
The Bible is not a fairytale, amen.
-
My fact, Diane said this was so great.
-
The Bible is better than a fairytale ending.
-
Have you read the end of the book?
-
Do you see how much God loved us to son?
-
Jesus for us man? Did it?
-
You can't doesn't get better than this.
-
I mean, nobody could have come up with the creativity and the
-
power and all of a substance and plans for the Jesus to come for
-
us and died on the cross for our sins.
-
Here's the reality. God is less interested in where
-
you've been is Maura. Austin, where you going to go
-
today? Amen, he's more interested in
-
where we going today. It is so easy to look back in
-
the rearview mirror and say, oh, I'm not this, and this could be
-
like this and your Harbor bitterness and unforgiveness all
-
these things. You look down yourself, but the
-
reality is God's more concerned about the direction your heart.
-
Today, he's more concerned, we're gonna go walk today.
-
He's more concerned now, how you came in this room, but how you
-
going to leave this room? Amen.
-
He's more concerned about where you're going.
-
Are you falling in love with him or going to humble yourself
-
before God or you're going to keep up the old man and keeps
-
Adding your own power. And so today, I'm going to call
-
this message broken but not abandoned, it really lean in and
-
put your ear to the spirit of God and hear word from God.
-
Something fresh for your relationships fresh for you
-
wonder what season you're in. And so on, invite you guys to
-
invite the spirit of God is speaking to your heart, just a
-
humble yourself, and it just moment.
-
I'm just gonna pray over you father.
-
We come before you gotta pray for your spirit to speak a fresh
-
word into our lives. God, I pray, we leave changed.
-
Got the whatever passion has been left or Every direction
-
we're going to be running towards you and I pray for a new
-
Strength, God renewed, passion renewed, Unity got that we'd be
-
together in this thing called life is.
-
Our marriages are fighting for the things of Christ together
-
and not each other. Yeah, I pray, you strip us from
-
the words of I and me, and mine, and fear, and shame, and guilt,
-
and insecurity and pride. And God, we would change our
-
words into the fruit of the spirit.
-
God, you know, patience and meekness and gentleness and our
-
marriage being To the picture of what it is to be Christ in the
-
church. And so, we love each.
-
Other as Christ loved us. We forgive each other as Christ.
-
Forgave us. And we have a new season of
-
intimacy, a new season of being a picture of the things through
-
Christ, for our family and for a watching world.
-
And I pray this in Jesus name and his power, we all pray and
-
say, Amen. Well today we're going to go
-
back to the OG. We're going to go back to Adam
-
and Eve, look at the first relationship and really
-
Perfection into Brokenness. And so we're going to just walk
-
through this story and It's so powerful and I would encourage
-
you to a for you jump in. If you haven't noticed, we live
-
in digging into the Bible. This year, we've been doing
-
basically, it's basically a chapter of the Bible.
-
We're going through people's stories and just make it a Bible
-
come alive. So I would encourage you, when
-
you come out to Real Life Church to bring your Bible, come on.
-
Somebody to get into the word of God, I'm a prolific Note Taker,
-
because I'll have a good memory. I'm middle-aged now.
-
Come on somebody, I just forgot what happened.
-
So, I had to write it down by love taking notes in the margin.
-
The Bible's, if you have users, reverse, Mobile app.
-
Who uses the YouVersion? Bible out, by the way.
-
Some guys use that, okay? That's also just a great thing.
-
You can take notes and save them but I'm always going back and
-
go. Okay, God, what did you say
-
there? And I'm praying over the
-
message, I'm rethinking the questions.
-
I'm so I'm just encourage you to get into the word of God and be
-
people of the book. Come on somebody, right?
-
I want people to come here and just hear the word of God.
-
I want you to get into it. I'm a visual person.
-
So I have to ride it out and that's how I remember things.
-
So Genesis chapter 2, we're going to dive in a little bit
Genesis 2 chapter mention
-
3:20 says this but for Adam no suitable.
-
Well, who knows suitable helper. No suitable.
-
Helper was found. He was looking come all
-
somebody. I mean he was like nope.
-
Nope, nope, nope, come on, God, come on guy.
-
And so Lord, God caused the man to fall into deep sleep.
-
And while I was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and
-
closed up the place of Flesh. The Lord God made a woman from
-
the rib. He had taken the man, I love
-
this, he brought her to the man. Come on somebody, this is the
-
original picture, the original Gender reveal party.
-
Come on somebody. Right.
-
I don't know how it went down. Like close your eyes.
-
We're going to count down from 3 through 11.
-
Right. I mean what would that be like,
-
right? Unless you jump down behind it,
-
I don't know how this one down, right?
-
I don't know how wet but but Adam this is where he says this
-
is amazing. I love this verse 23 but the man
-
said this is now bone of my bone and Flesh of My Flesh.
-
Come on somebody. I've been looking for her.
-
Go God, come on somebody, right? He was so excited and she should
-
be called woman. Come on somebody.
-
Whoa, man, that's the original jug right for?
-
She was taken out of, man, I don't the first words of Adam
-
Were to Eve. I'm not really sure how that
-
went down but maybe with something like this.
-
How you doing right? Or I don't know you know you are
-
a part of me come on somebody. Alright that's terrible.
-
Dad joke. Alright moving on first 14.
-
Not still good. I use that I'm using next.
-
Gal, let me tell I'm not getting rid of ads.
-
Good verse 24. This is why a man leaves his
-
father and mother and they're like, what in the world is the
-
father and mother, right? They've never had a father or
-
mother said happened and is what helped me out and is everybody
-
say United United, this is the word that this is the word.
-
This word United is really the ultimate definition of a
-
relationship. This is the definition of
-
marriage United. Together United to his wife and
-
they the two of them became one flesh.
-
They don't forget. This is so cool.
-
Yeah, check this out. Adam and Eve were perfectly made
-
for each other. Don't miss this.
-
They were perfectly designed for each other.
-
In every way, every sense of the word they were physically
-
designed for each other. Amen.
-
Amen. Hallelujah praise God Almighty,
-
right? Glad that works out right there,
-
emotionally that together for each other.
-
Amen. I'm here more guys and ladies
-
loud. That's kind of weird.
-
Right guys. Like a men.
-
They're just keeping up face at this point, right?
-
I mean, they were spiritually made for each other that they
-
were helpers to each other. God knew exactly what he's
-
doing. When he created Adam and Eve and
-
putting together as one flesh no longer their mission or I mean
-
her Mission his mission but it's their mission.
-
Oh, Christ, in their to follow Jesus together, the United
-
together, you know, God created you to be United together with
-
your spouse. He created you to be knives
-
together in your relationship. You're not supposed to war
-
against each other, you know? Get in the same Foxhole and then
-
just shoot your companion and shoot your teammate in the
-
Foxhole. Amen.
-
That we're fighting a common enemy were taking ground from
-
the enemy. We're fighting for a thanks to
-
God for a family to have a common purpose and a common
-
heartbeat through night and intimacy.
-
It's no longer my will and Diane's will but it's Our will
-
towards the things of Christ. Amen.
-
United together, but so many marriages.
-
It's the opposite, isn't it? It's divided is older, Unity.
-
It's untied, it's the opposite, it's moving different
-
directions. And instead of fighting comment,
-
me, they're fighting each other. You see so many marriages that
-
are stuck in division, really stuck in coexisting.
-
They may be married to May wear a ring.
-
They may live in the same roof, but they're anything, but
-
together there's different televisions, different rooms,
-
different beds, different Plans different bank accounts.
-
Come on somebody I'm stepping on somebody's toes in the hair.
-
Hey I mean it's easy to get there.
-
Just go different directions for some people, they're stuck in
-
division, they're stuck in collaboration, they're living
-
together but they're not co-workers for the cause of
-
Christ unite under the power of Christ.
-
Amen, it is so easy to just to be together but not together and
-
marriage. Not put together for the things
-
of Christ, not of the power of Christ.
-
I don't know about you, but I want Jesus as the foundation of
-
this relationship. Amen.
-
If you're going to follow me, you're going to be sorely
-
disappointed as looking for some amens, but she tried to burn her
-
throats been her, and she's like, So he marriages are stuck
-
in control. It's a control freak so I'm both
-
sides instead of complement each other.
-
They're trying to control the relationship and they're upset
-
with their spouse because they don't do certain things.
-
They chew too loud, right? The TV is too loud.
-
This is missing this and there's fighting all the time about
-
everything. You know think of Paula Abdul,
-
right? She was like half right
-
Opposites Attract, but they also attack come on somebody and they
-
just don't copy each other very well, it's receive divorces so
-
often. The first 3 7, 10 years of
-
marriage. You had those hard yards, you're
-
starving kids and things are different.
-
And You don't quite understand your spouse and more, but God
-
put you together, amen. That you complete me, right?
-
Like opposites. But they fill in the voids dude,
-
you don't want to Pete, you just feel like so obtuse.
-
Like you have to have your, your spouse with you.
-
Is kind of takes off round the edges on the women.
-
All the women said, amen. Right.
-
Round off the edge of those been, right?
-
This way, you Nia looks like just as 25 to 25, says, this
-
atom is wife were both, what helped me out.
-
Come on, somebody, ha ha Tony. I love you.
-
I love you, buddy, so much. I want to say right now, but I'm
-
not and they felt no, no, shame. This is what you need to look
-
like. Literally that they were naked,
-
they didn't realize is that there's a flaws and Perfections.
-
They didn't see fear or shame. They were naked and they had no
-
shame in their life. It was kinda like they look down
-
in the reflection of the of the water like Simba, right?
-
Right? They saw themselves and they
-
said I am fearfully and wonderfully.
-
Made hallelujah. Praise God.
-
Whoa, look at that reflection, baby.
-
Yes. Or like none of you did that,
-
right? Dude, we put makeup to cover up.
-
Come on somebody, right? So I make, we have make it
-
better. We gonna hide this, we got to
-
make this. We have lose this.
-
We got to put that girl on. We all these things right to
-
make ourselves look. The girl.
-
What can I say? Here's what here's the bottom
-
line. They're unhindered.
-
Exhibitionist for the cause of Christ.
-
Come on. Somebody that's Lou what.
-
This verse says, naked unashamed men that they're they just knew
-
who they were in Christ. They didn't have any other
-
worries and their fear and their life.
-
In this Utopia are people called Perfection this Age of
-
Innocence. The sagely Garden of Eden.
-
This moment in time that really didn't exist my opinion, very
-
long if you think about this as about the move from United to
-
untied pretty quickly and the reason you can speculate this is
-
because Adam and Eve. Eve, they didn't have any kids
-
before the fall and I'm pretty sure there was a habit.
-
They weren't willing to give up, come on somebody.
-
Hmm, so probably pretty quick. It's probably a few months of
-
time here, where was all perfect.
-
So once you watch the shift from shift, from Perfection to Broken
-
from Walking with God to hide it from God, from eternal life to
-
dust. This is how the first
-
relationship goes, just a chapter 3 says this in verse 1.
-
Now, the serpent was more crafty than any other wild animals, the
-
Lord God had made. He said, the woman did God
-
really say, You must not eat from any tree in the garden.
-
Then that crafty serpent is putting that seed of doubt.
-
He just tugging away and eroding at the truth of God's word.
-
And the woman said, the serpent, we may eat from the trees in the
-
garden. If you don't want the trees in,
-
the garden is a tree of life that treat you find in
-
Revelation the tree, eat the fruit from and you continually
-
eat and live forever. And so this tree was in the
-
garden, he from, but God did say we must not eat from the tree
-
that's in the middle of garden. That tree, that's growing on a
-
septic tank. Come on somebody and you must
-
not touch it, which is very interesting or you'll die.
-
And so it's not just you eat the The fruit of this tree, it's
-
actually even touched the fruit of the tree.
-
You'll be cursed and die and you will certainly not die.
-
So the circuit we need not necessarily For God, knows, when
-
you eat from it, your eyes will be opened and you'll be like,
-
God knowing good and evil the appeals to her pride and says,
-
you know, God's holding back on you actually the grass is
-
greener on the other side of eating that fruit because he
-
knows if you eat it, you can be just like him.
-
You're going to be more aware. You have, some wisdom, your life
-
in had before you're gonna, you have a different status in life.
-
You eat from this tree. So it's three is really good.
-
Look at his fruits, amazing and the woman saw the fruit.
-
Look at this, there's three things she sees about this tree.
-
It was good for food. This could feel my body.
-
You fill my stomach. It's pleasing to the eye.
-
I can look at it and know that mean that is really, really
-
good-looking. And also desirable for gaining
-
wisdom, that get my status will change if I eat this fruit.
-
And so she took some of it and ate it.
-
Now, here's a lie. Is that you see so far the lives
-
of sin, here it is. I'm just going to take a quick
-
look. Come on somebody.
-
You can look but you can't. Look, but you can't touch, that
-
doesn't work. Out, that doesn't work out.
-
She saw this fruit, and it lists looks so good.
-
She had to have a bite of this fruit, it appealed to her
-
appetite and when it comes to things of God, especially comes
-
with things of lust and sin. You flee those things.
-
You don't fight those things, amen.
-
You like Joseph, you run out, but naked when they grab that
-
rope, he has run out. But naked, come on somebody.
-
If you don't know the story, you're like, IMA.
-
Look this up, pastor says some butt-naked running, I'm gonna go
-
find it in the Bible. Can we go find it somewhere in
-
here, right? I mean, Think about this, it
-
wasn't, it was a sin to take the fruit, you know?
-
But it was it was temptation to look at the fruit.
-
It was tempted. It's like putting yourself Right
-
In Harm's Way. And so, just take a quick look.
-
That's what the lion says. I'm not hurting anybody.
-
I can do what I want. As I heard dude.
-
She and he had me Rob's really God and it changed the course of
-
all humanity. And we live a life of sin, or
-
complacency or follow things of ourselves.
-
What we do is our robin, our own future and over so many people's
-
lives. Heard.
-
Anybody it's like, dude, you're hurting you.
-
You heard your relationships. You're hurting Generations,
-
ahead of you mean, that fruit looks really good on the
-
outside. Dude, that thing was welfare
-
Lies. Come on somebody, I told you on
-
the septic tank. Right?
-
Bell says this in Psalms, it says a lips.
-
The heart like honeycomb and says, her way is go down to the
-
pits of hell. It looks great on the outside
-
but that destination, we're going is nowhere.
-
God wants you to be me think of the status that you would have
-
of it is had this fruit? How much wisdom I'd have and
-
that Pride begins to spark up and so she's the fruit in the
-
verse 6 says this and she gave some to her husband.
-
Oh by the way, he was standing there.
-
Come on somebody, you talk about a pacifist and he was literally
-
sitting there watching Satan, talk to the serpent talking to
-
his wife and said, nothing and did nothing.
-
And so he was staying there and she gave him the fruit and he
-
ate it in the eyes of both of them were what helped me out
-
there opens for the first time humanity saw the the other side
-
of the coin it was like when a kid loses their innocence.
-
Oh. So they realize there's good and
-
there's evil and they see the wrong in this sin entered their
-
hearts and this forever Change them forever, shape them in
-
different directions. Pride has swelled up the
-
selfishness in Soother self-promotion self-deception
-
and they started knowing good and evil.
-
In the War Began to wage inside their soul and they realize
-
this, they realized that they were naked and then ago, they
-
know they're naked, come on somebody, but now they realize
-
that they're in naked and the shame float over them, a no
-
longer innocent. And so they sewed fig leaves
-
together and made coverings for themselves.
-
So, sad about this relationship is that this is the first time.
-
He made you see two people hiding from each other.
-
So, first time you made, you see two people keeping secrets from
-
each other. It's the first time you made.
-
You see people look at themselves and say, I'm not good
-
enough. I know measure up.
-
I've got flaws like a mistakes. There's things in my life.
-
I'm not proud of, and so I'm going to go so some fig leaves
-
so people can't see who I really am that.
-
Shame that power of Shame, cover them up in the reality, is this
-
and our generation. And our time that power of Shame
-
is still so real. It's still so much there in our
-
lives. Matter fact, we're not.
-
So in fig leaves, we're doing other stuff, right?
-
And you see all the time, people make fake social media accounts,
-
people make have their own bank accounts.
-
People don't know about you. People do about this stuff to
-
get divorced and years later, right?
-
And you start hearing the stories, it's like people go
-
their own directions. To the limits.
-
I think about when the greatest shames that hold us down the
-
power of Shame. It's about hiding things.
-
You talked about deleted internet history.
-
Talk about private browsing. You have to even delete your
-
history. You talked about in that
-
pornography, think about this enterpreneur ography makes more
-
money than Netflix. Netflix makes it makes more
-
money. If you take every Hollywood,
-
everything in Hollywood put together, it makes more money
-
than that. It makes more money than Viacom,
-
the internet pornography is a largest one, largest Industries
-
in the entire world. But the sad thing is it's
-
actually the largest industry of all the world in the United
-
States. United States has more clicks on
-
pornography than any other country, no other.
-
Countries, even close to mount clicks and a nog.
-
Rafi, the United States and sadly, this is crazy.
-
The mostly clicks on the inner product fee happened on one day
-
of the week. Yes.
-
Well, I guess what day of the week it is Sunday.
-
Sunday, do you think Satan has his hands around that?
-
There's so much shame. We live in the probably, the
-
greatest generation of shame in the history of the world.
-
We live in a generation that has captivated by themselves and
-
others, but they can look But not touch.
-
And that shame is overflowed into marriages and
-
relationships. Young people.
-
The average age of first exposure in at pornography is
-
11, What is that? Sixth grade?
-
But do the math, right? Fifth grade.
-
Thank you. I need some moms out to help me
-
out. My kids.
-
Aren't that old yet, right? But fifth grade.
-
Do you say this is an infiltrate.
-
This he said, well, it's no big deal.
-
It's no big deal. It's a huge deal.
-
Amen, it's a huge deal. It's warping the intimacy that
-
people have been that shame is what he'll hold people in that
-
spot is hitting their stuff that you wouldn't want God to know,
-
your spouse. Know, your best friend, the
-
know, and you hold on to it. So tightly and we have these
-
things, their hands every single day and this is the power of
-
Shame. I'm in our life.
-
Now in fact this but this one the greatest tragedy verse 8
-
says this and the man said his wife or the man his wife they
-
heard the sound the Lord as Walk In the Garden in the cool of the
-
day and they hid from the Lord, among the trees in the garden.
-
This is the first time in the Bible, First Time in the history
-
of humanity, you see, Humanity running and hiding, from God,
-
this is this is the first time it never was this way before.
-
Also, there's so much shame. They're so afraid that they saw
-
these big leaves they run on the trees.
-
It'll make a sound hoping that God won't find them and this is
-
the reality for so many relationships.
-
Looks like God, I can't measure up, man.
-
If you knew the real me, come on somebody.
-
You would never love me. If you knew what I've done, you
-
wouldn't forgive me. And so this is the exact thing
-
that happened for Adam and Eve. They heard the sound.
-
They ran ahead and broke a relationship of God.
-
Verse 9 is the First Act of Grace by our god.
-
This is what the Lord God Called to man.
-
Where are you man? You talk about a merciful act.
-
Amen. The God, he did, we did take a
-
step towards God, we're running from God, and God took a step
-
towards us. Amen.
-
That God looks for us to the guard.
-
He knew we were, but he stepped out with compassion have been
-
spit on and lied to, right? And the garden we chose are on
-
the way and we'd send against God a holy God and God walks to
-
the guards. As where are you guys at?
-
We're all use gives a chance to to own our sin right.
-
Here's a chance to speak up and the Lord comes towards us.
-
It makes the first steps of reconciliation towards us and
-
recognizes us and our own sin. Mentioned, have this kind of
-
Grace in our relationships today that have her spouse or a friend
-
or relationship were in. They mess up we take the first
-
step of Grace and what a hike. All right, he said this Adam
-
answered, I heard you in the garden, I was afraid because I
-
was naked and so I hid from you you know so much broke that day.
-
It went from found to lost. It went from Whole to
-
incomplete. It went from complete to
-
shattered, everything changed for Humanity in that moment.
-
The words are the dictionary of me and mine and I of fear of
-
Shame and security doubt Pride evil hiding lost.
-
And we became forever the center of our universe as that of Jesus
-
and we ran in our own sin. It's a running to the feet of
-
God for the first time in our lives, you know, things gonna
-
change your marriage more than anything it change.
-
Your relationship is running back to Jesus.
-
Amen. The thing that will make the
-
difference for you in 2023 today.
-
When you walk out these doors, Even is it you put Jesus right
-
in the middle of your relationship?
-
If you build your relationship on the foundation, on the
-
footing of the Cornerstone of Jesus.
-
Amen. And stop trying and start
-
trusting in the one that ultimately will cover your
-
shame. My fat day, they fall in the,
-
get into the original fight in the Bible.
-
The first blame game goes down right here, in verse 11 and Adam
-
sent, or God said, who told you that you were naked.
-
Have you eaten from the tree that command?
-
You not to eat from? And the man said, well, the
-
woman he starts blaming the woman.
-
That you put here with me that you brought.
-
So it's not just her fault but God is your fault.
-
You gave me this woman. She gave me some fruit from the
-
tree and I ate it. The Lord God said, the woman,
-
what have you done? And then we said, well that
-
serpent over there, he deceived me and so I ate it.
-
And so Lord, God said to the serpent because you have done
-
this cursed, are you above all livestock?
-
And all the wild animals you will crawl on your belly and you
-
eat dust all the days of your life and I will put enmity
-
between you and the woman between your Offspring and hers
-
and he will crush your head. We talked about this before but
-
this is the picture of the Gospel.
-
This is the first mention of Jesus that Jesus is going to
-
crush the head of the serpent that cross would drop into the
-
ground and would crush the head. We talk about the head of
-
Goliath. Amen.
-
And crush his head and set us free.
-
And you will strike his heel to the woman.
-
He said, I will make your pains in childbearing severe.
-
Come on somebody. We wish we could go back in
-
time, right? In the painful labor, you give
-
it give birth to Children yours. I'll be for your husband and he
-
will rule over you. Now, I will say this one, well
-
with childbirth be like without the curse.
-
That'd be interesting conversation to.
-
There's only one verse given to the woman and there's about
-
three verses that are given to Adam.
-
Come on somebody, about to get some more chastisement for the
-
guy, right? And so to Adam, he said, because
-
you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I
-
command you, you must not eat from curses the ground because
-
of you. This is where you have the fall,
-
not just affected Humanity, that affected all creation.
-
This is why I have tornadoes and hurricanes and sufferings been
-
up to this point. All the atoms, all the animals.
-
Apparently spoke the sir, And talked, right?
-
These animals lived in harmony to each other, they're
-
vegetarians people didn't kill the animals but now things have
-
changed and through painful tool you eat for the food from it.
-
All days, your life, it will produce thorns and thistles for
-
you and you eat the plants of the field and by the sweat of
-
your brow, you will eat your food until you return to the
-
ground. This is getting serious pretty
-
quickly hidden it. And since from it you were taken
-
for dust you are and to dust you will return.
-
I mean the Consequence was real, right?
-
I mean, went from eternal life in the garden to dust.
-
I'm you talk about having a messed-up first relationship.
-
Come on somebody, right? I mean, some of you guys should
-
feel pretty good today because your life doesn't look quite
-
that bad, right? Did involve getting, you know,
-
troll life taken away and separation eviction from a
-
garden, but we still have that same Brokenness in our life,
-
we're all broken, but remind you, they based on the scripture
-
that we are not fighting or spouse.
-
Amen. We're not fighting flesh and
-
blood. That the warrior in isn't the
-
person. Next to you or any of the person
-
you can see. Amen.
-
The Bible says, this were fighting principalities and
-
powers of Darkness. Unseen forces things that are
-
behind the scenes, we're fighting shame.
-
We're fighting guilds. We're fighting the things of the
-
of the world. We're fighting insecurity, we're
-
fighting Pride, we're fighting being afraid.
-
We're finding all the things on the inside.
-
There's something way beneath the surface, we got to get to
-
today, amen. I mean, we're going to talk
-
about relationships, we can't talk about, You and her or her
-
and you we got to talk about you and God.
-
Amen. And there's something way deeper
-
that's happening beneath the surface and your relationship
-
that has to be addressed, amen. He's not going to get it right
-
without knowing, how to solve this sin problem, how to work
-
together through sin, because we're both Fallen, we're both
-
broken, but God did not abandon us starts out in Romans 5, 19
-
for just as through the Disobedience of one man, this is
-
Adam. We talk about Adam is
-
Disobedience to God. Many were made sinners.
-
That's us. I didn't think we'd get a amen,
-
right there, right? But that's us, we're all Sinners
-
because Adam sinned were used like the headship of humanity,
-
right? We're all broken, but don't miss
-
this. So also Through The Obedience of
-
one, man, many will be made what made righteous?
-
Come on somebody we are broken but not abandon A Min.
-
We're not abandoned and this is good news because our lives are
-
messed up like Jerry, Springer episode, all these things are
-
going sideways. People are cheating their lives,
-
either. Set the whole all things,
-
they're afraid to be real. They're hiding stuff from each
-
other. All this mess.
-
We live in every single day but Jesus stepped into the mess.
-
Amen. He stepped in on our behalf, he
-
made a way for us and is so powerful when Jesus took a step
-
towards us. Look at this in just as 3:20
-
says this, Adam named, his wife Eve because she become the
-
mother of all living. This is like the original
-
Grandma. Come on somebody, the Lord God
-
made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and what helped me
-
out. Out.
-
Then close them. He imagined get this scene here
-
that the obses Perfection. They're made for each.
-
Other is the perfect harmony. Got a built it and they sins.
-
It's inevitable consequence because God is a holy God.
-
There's no sin in heaven. There's no scent around God.
-
He is perfect on every level we can never measure up now because
-
we chose a different path. And so God gives consequences
-
but even for years consequences, he looks for us.
-
Amen. He didn't abandon us and then he
-
then he gives us Sequences. And then his first act towards
-
us, what an act of mercy and Grace.
-
It says, the Lord made garments of skin for Adam and his wife
-
and clothed them that God clothes.
-
It that God made a way to cover their shame.
-
Amen. The very first thing that God
-
did is looked at him Andy. He said.
-
Yeah you're broken and you have to have some coverings and so
-
for the first time and all of time, the god of the universe
-
steps into his creation. The now is warning its each
-
other. Now Sudden you've lined
-
attacking zebras of Southern long, you're talking, how are
-
you? No longer day of the tiger?
-
Come on somebody, and they're attacking each other and all of
-
a sudden there's God's Universe steps in and he hunts down,
-
which would take along and grabs an animal on the water.
-
Was he kills it? He's skins it.
-
And he shows together clothes for Humanity.
-
He imagined the grace of God and how much he loves us to such an
-
act of Mercy, but we spit in his face, Ace and we turn from him.
-
This is kind of Grace were called to happen, our
-
relationships. Well, the grace things you do is
-
a man of God, is he protecting cover your family men, you see
-
things that nobody else should see, and you fight to break it,
-
right? You lock the key on it, for the
-
things that Jesus and you fight like, hell for your family, men
-
and Jesus. He looked at Humanity, he fought
-
off hell for us now. In fact, this wasn't the last
-
time that Jesus or God would cover our shame.
-
Amen. That fact, this is a picture of
-
what Christ is going to do for us.
-
This is a foreshadowing of the Old Testament system.
-
Were the shedding of blood will be forgiveness of sins that one
-
day. This innocent animal will be
-
sacrificed to cover the sins. Just like then assemble is given
-
to sacrifice and cover the sins of Adam and Eve, there were the
-
innocent Lamb of God, that be given to cover our sin and
-
shame. Amen.
-
And the Bible says something so beautiful.
-
It's so amazing. If you haven't found it yet, is
-
found in Isaiah 61. Now, Isaiah 61, if you don't
-
know this passage, you got to get to those passes because
-
Jesus quoted this path. Siege.
-
This was his opening passage to the start of his ministry
-
Merced. The spirit Lord, is upon me.
-
His anointed me to bring good news right to set.
-
The captives free we've heard that passage.
-
Hopefully is Christians because Jesus launched his public
-
Ministry with that passage. And it goes on to say this about
-
us, and is so special. Today as a 6110, it says this, I
-
July greatly in the Lord, my soul rejoices in my God for he
-
has what clothes With garments of Salvation.
-
Amen. In a raid me in a robe of
-
righteousness. Today, you are covered on the
-
blood of Jesus, and that is the only reason that this whole
-
marriage thing. And this whole relationship
-
thing is ever going to work gay men because it's built on the
-
things of Jesus. Do you realize there's only one
-
letter difference between the word United and the word untied.
-
You realize that That is one letter that.
-
Just move it a little closer to the you.
-
It's the letter. I it's all about where you put
-
the, i in your relationship. Where do you fit it?
-
Because there's what looks like when it's about you, we were
-
fighting really for the things that we ourselves.
-
It looks like this. I'm offended, I'm hurt.
-
I'm mad. I could never forgive.
-
I could never move forward. I'm no longer in love.
-
My fact I was never in love. I've heard that a few times
-
last. Last four years for different
-
people's relationships. I think what a crock.
-
Right? What a manipulation tactics?
-
I was never in love. I'm not happy.
-
I'm done. I don't love this person.
-
I don't need you. I don't want to change.
-
I'm happier without you. I'm over it.
-
This happens when the eyes are on you.
-
Amen, when it was all about you, it's all about myself.
-
It's all about me. I feel like I'm about singing a
-
country song, right about me, talking about everything there.
-
Hey, He is in jail for that but she'll for the word of God,
-
right? But you look at this, when it's
-
all about, I myself because that word didn't exist.
-
That even though there are naked in the garden, they had no
-
self-awareness. It was interdependence who
-
depends on God and trust in God. And this love relationship with
-
Eve. And all of a sudden it's like,
-
oh I'm full of Shame. I'm afraid, and all this, which
-
are acting out of. I am own power, my own ability,
-
here's the reality. There is Serie fruits of the the
-
spirit with I Zero fruits of the spirit but if you're United
-
other things to Christ, all of a sudden because God has changed
-
us got his robe, does in his righteousness.
-
All of a sudden, we can say stuff like this, hey, I forgive
-
you. Because Christ forgave me, you
-
know, God cares around the bigger racer and he races all
-
our wrongs. You guys know that, the Bible
-
says he didn't count of wrongs against us.
-
There fact, God keeps a record of all the rights.
-
Amen, he doesn't walk around looking up.
-
I told yourself losing be that way.
-
I'm gonna take this. I'm a fault fine.
-
Hiroki. Yep.
-
Yep, yep. Yep.
-
You should erase the sin as far as the East is from the West.
-
Amen. And that's what called tuna
-
relationships. I'm not gonna give you any like
-
Not only cost like prognosis of what you should do in your
-
relationship. I must give you some principles
-
that we should offer forgiveness as Christ.
-
Forgave us, amen. You're a knight of the things of
-
Christ. That should be.
-
Neither the mission of Christ. God is not put you together
-
towards each other. He puts you guys at war against
-
the things of the world and to rescue Souls.
-
Amen, you are. Mission driven.
-
Did you should study your woman's personality?
-
And she said, your man's personality.
-
You should know everything about them inside and out.
-
Come on somebody. You should know them, and you
-
fall in love each other on Mission together.
-
For the cause of Christ looks like be unified for Christ.
-
As you realize, it's not built with each other.
-
You realize that I can love because God loves me and I'm not
-
full of Shame. I'm not full of guilds.
-
I'm not full of fear because of Jesus.
-
I am set free and who The Spits Son of God says, free.
-
The spirit sets. Free is free in deed.
-
Amen and so I live from a different perspective.
-
I don't live from a fallen broken state.
-
Live from a complete whole redeemed regenerate life-giving
-
holy spirit, filled State of Mind.
-
Amen. And so we don't give up and
-
maybe somebody has walked away. You've done all you can you're
-
chasing them, but we still forgive them and love them.
-
And we take the first step as Christians.
-
We always take the first step towards people to love people,
-
even those closest to us. By the way, those closest to us,
-
we sent tend to hurt the most because they see us at our
-
worst. But today, I want to encourage
-
you as men and women in relationships, whether you're at
-
whatever status, it is to make Jesus a sinner your
-
relationship. Amen.
-
That you're broken. But your Brokenness doesn't
-
Define you because you're not abandoned by the things of God.
-
Amen and today we can leave changed because the Holy Spirit
-
I told you put your head to the Holy Spirit and what's God
-
saying to you today. The only difference between
-
being broken and being a not abandon and knowing god is that
-
you put God right here in your mind in your heart and you
-
listen to the word of God for you and your family.
-
So you guys walking Deep end with your family.
-
So you guys got kids that have gone, prodigal, right?
-
So you guys got families are falling apart and you guys is
-
Dad's or mom's or brothers and sisters, our sons our daughters,
-
you're trying to hold together. Can I just tell you that Jesus
-
has this? That you just got to trust in
-
God. That you gotta get some
-
refreshing on your souls and you guys have been to battle for a
-
long time. As a pastor, I see the good
-
stuff, but I see hard stuff that's really weird.
-
Today, put your head to the holy spirit because no one is going
-
to understand what you're walking through as much as God.
-
Does God's Gonna understand that God gave his son?
-
God lost his family, so we could be found.
-
Amen. That's love, that's Redemption
-
and God covered us as he wrapped us in a son's arm with grace and
-
mercy in Jesus wrapped a robe of righteousness on you.
-
And now he's calling us to wrap a robe of righteousness around
-
somebody else and share that. Good news with somebody else in
-
love our spouse. Even in their false.
-
Come on, look in the mirror. Somebody here hey and love
-
somebody I would encourage you build relationship on Jesus this
-
week. Get together.
-
Pray to go with your spouse fight for the things of God and
-
your relationship and take those things are hidden and say you
-
know, I'm done with that. I'm they'll no longer staff.
-
Come on somebody. I'm going to change the trend
-
for my family. I'm fine for generations and
-
nobody's fighting for the Unseen generations of the future.
-
Going to fight for the things of God.
-
I'm broken. I'm not abandon name in fun.
-
We come before you and God, did you ask to speak to our hearts
-
today? Each relationships are different
-
places. Some are starting some of the
-
Rocks, so of ended, some of the middle somewhere, somewhere
-
somewhere over it. But God, would you speak a word
-
into our hearts today? Gar - of what it could be like,
-
teachers to fall in love with you.
-
I'll pray for those in the house and say, you know what, I'm
-
stuck, I've been stuck for a while.
-
I was going to have to be stuck. I was mad at people.
-
Mad at myself, mad at God, but they will be Stuck.
-
We'll take a step towards God. I would have reminded myself of
-
the things of God and remind them covered by the
-
righteousness of God, the robe of God.
-
I'm going to put the god of the Center of My Universe will put
-
God in the center of my marriage.
-
I got through my relationships, I want this be built on him and
-
no longer on me, if that's youth.
-
I be looking around this moment. We just put your hand there and
-
say, yes, Jesus, that's me. I'm stuck.
-
I'm no longer stuck today on 5 for the things of God and my
-
marriage and my family. I see your hands all across the
-
state. Vroom, put the hands down.
-
Father, you know, we're at specifically God and I pray for
-
our marriage has to be reflection of you got that, we
-
would just wake up to the reality of who you are.
-
And God, we get our nose in the book so we can know you.
-
After you read our marriage, you read us.
-
You strengthen us. So people look at us, we got,
-
hey, it's not me, it's just Jesus.
-
I've made so many mistakes, but don't be like me.
-
Be like God, and we can point our kids and Next Generation to
-
you, got pray for marriages that are maybe struggling.
-
And that they're reminded of why they're married, and who they
-
are in Christ, that they are mission driven that they're
-
christ-centered today. And then you put you right in
-
the middle of that. I pray for those who are in the
-
hard yards of divorce and hard season of the mess.
-
Got pray for strength, got pray for encouragement.
-
Pray that though, that this not done that, God's not done with
-
them and they God's for them. My how far their run Gods with
-
them. Maybe they've done everything,
-
right? And still not working out.
-
Gotta pray for your special blessing on them.
-
God, thank you for the robe of righteousness.
-
You're giving us But there's one more group people and that's
-
those of you, the walked in the house.
-
You see, you know what, I was that person hiding.
-
I was that person running. I'm that person that is walked
-
away from God. We're trying to do my own way,
-
be cover my own, shame and sin, and they've been wrapped up to
-
my neck and things. But then I realized that God
-
wants me. The God pursues me that God's
-
will to clothe me. The guys, will it take me in
-
this Jesus he died on the cross for you exchange.
-
All his wrongs for all. All his rights for all our
-
wrongs, it made us whole. And so today, if you need Jesus,
-
if you need a life feeding your purpose, one new name, if you
-
want a robe of righteousness, and be clothed in Salvation,
-
there's moments for you. And so if that's you, then you
-
want Jesus, please raise your hand high.
-
This place is I need Jesus. Come on.
-
I'll see you guys as hands. The bill.
-
So I need. Jesus, come on.
-
That's your hand. That's amazing.
-
Anybody else I need Jesus today? That you put your hands down.
-
I would encourage you just to ask God into your life and not
-
because anything we've done. But all because what Jesus has
-
done for us. All of us, it's just us three.
-
Jesus has been chasing you down to this moment in time.
-
It's what's called? Good news.
-
This confess to Jesus that you need him.
-
Say to repeat this to God, say father God.
-
Thank you for sending Jesus when Humanity.
-
When I was at my worst. Jesus, you have always been at
-
your best and you love me. Even though I've been hiding So
-
lovable. So God, I ask you to come my
-
life. Thanks for DOT across my sins.
-
Got to give me a new life in. You got clothing, their
-
righteousness. God, today is my day of
-
salvation today. Leave leave not broken.
-
But now I'm complete. I'm a new creation.
-
I'm a son or daughter of the king.
-
And today, I'm going to build my life on you and she changed in
-
duration and Generation generation of my family, because
-
I know you and be United together that pray, this in
-
Jesus name. Name everybody said, amen.
-
Come on. Give it up for Jesus today.
-
Come on. I submitted you made a decision
-
today or even recently. We would love to encourage you
-
in your walk with Jesus. There's no cooler thing that
-
you'll do no more exciting thing, you do nothing that will
-
change the path of your life and your relationships more than
-
knowing Jesus. And so, we'd love to encourage
-
you. We are praying for you, you can
-
reach out to us, texts are I'll next to 97,000.
-
There's a place on there, you can share your story and a
-
member of our team would love to reach out to encourage you and
-
to help you as you're starting your journey with Jesus.
-
And if you Here with us in person at Kentucky Trail, we
-
actually have a table in the back with some red bags you can
-
grab one on your way out. That's got a Bible.
-
If they're free gift for you to take.
-
It's got a letter and they were some resources to connect you to
-
some ways that you can start walking with Jesus.
-
And so maybe today, you are feeling a little bit stuck.
-
Whether it's relationally, you're connecting to God.
-
I have a couple of next steps that all of us can take to do.
-
And the first one is this, we have a thing.
-
We've talked about a couple times today called the
-
YouVersion Bible app. It's an incredible resource that
-
has been given to To churches to share and use and not only, can
-
you use the app to read the Bible, there's Bible reading
-
plans on there, you can connect, you can read with friends, you
-
can do that stuff, but we do a little thing called a talk it
-
over. And so if you pull out that app,
-
there's three little lines in the bottom right corner.
-
You can click more and go to events and every Sunday, you can
-
pull that up here and follow along with the message, you can
-
have those verses that we use right there, you can see at the
-
end of it, there's these things called, talk it over questions,
-
which are just a really cool way throughout the week to maybe
-
connect with your Spouse answer those questions together.
-
Hey, what is God showing you in this way?
-
Or I know that some of our life groups, use those questions
-
throughout the week to connect a Shawn uses those a lot of times
-
as we kind of break the ice for our staff meeting, just to keep
-
ourselves grounded, connected to what God is doing in our whole
-
church. And so that resources there for
-
you, it's there every week, you can click on there, you can
-
click share and just download it right to your phone, to keep
-
those questions or to keep that saved.
-
And it's just a cool resource that can help you get unstuck as
-
you are trying to move forward with Jesus and the second Estab
-
that we have is this on March 5th and just a couple weeks.
-
We are going to be having a child dedication.
-
And this is just a really special and cool moment that we
-
do in our church. And whether you have little
-
bitty ones at home or older children, this is the moment
-
where we would invite you to come.
-
And say, you know what, me and my family are committed to this
-
Jesus thing. We want our family together to
-
serve God and so we'll come, have you come up.
-
We'll share a little bit about your family.
-
It will take a moment where our staff, our Through some Elders
-
in the church will have a moment of prayer and blessing over your
-
family to send you out into the world covered in prayer and to
-
be able to move forward in what God has called you to do.
-
And if you've been to one of our childhood occasions, it's a
-
really special and fun moment. But if you're interested in that
-
at all, you can actually go to Real Life Church kc.com and
-
click events and you can sign up to get more information there.
-
Someone from our team will reach out to you, explain everything
-
to you, kind of let you know how the whole thing flows and all
-
that if it's something that you're interested in doing.
-
But it's a Special moment in the life of our church.
-
And so we want that blessing for you and your family and last is
-
this tonight we are seeing the real life youth launch into the
-
Hope Center that has just been a huge time coming.
-
There has been so much work behind the scenes, not only
-
getting the place built but then all of the technology and
-
different pieces that come together to let it be a place
-
where young people can say. Yeah, this is kind of cool.
-
I want to know more about this God thing and so I do hope that
-
you'll be covering them in prayer tonight as We are seeing
-
young people come out to that space, maybe for the first time.
-
Maybe you are a six to twelve grader or you know, a 6th and
-
12th grader who would want to come out tonight and just check
-
out what God is doing in our youth group at the Hope Center.
-
It's going to be a really, really great time.
-
And it's really because of your generosity.
-
You know, we've been raising money for this, we've been
-
raising funds raising things so that today could happen so that
-
lives can be changed for Jesus. So that our next Generation that
-
we see sweeping rival across. The country can happen here in
-
our community. You know, have happened in our
-
hopes, I'll let that be the Central Place of Hope for young
-
people in our city to know. Jesus.
-
And so, thank you for your generosity.
-
If you want to get involved in being a part of generosity and
-
everything that makes, you know, real life work.
-
You can do that. Three ways you can go to Real
-
Life Church kc.com and click give you can text any amount to
-
eat four, three, two, one or we have a giving box in the back
-
where you can put cash or check in there if that is something
-
for you. And so, if you're new to real
-
life, is your first time. This moment is not for you, we
-
want something for you. We hope that you were in Spired
-
encouraged by the message today, hope you had a cup of coffee,
-
hope you had a great time, just connecting with the people of
-
God, that's what we want for you, and we're so glad that
-
you're here. And then for every one last
-
thing, the buffets will pass by in just a second.
-
If you were your family, find yourself an immediate need of
-
food, clothing or shelter, please reach into the bucket,
-
grab any loose cash, you see? Because we can be a blessing to
-
your family in your time of need and South check out this video.
-
Serving, the youth has made a difference in my life, can two
-
different ways. First, by establishing a bond
-
with our team. Every week, we meet, it's my
-
wife Jessica, Adam Ella Josh in our leader carry, we really are
-
united in the belief that planting seeds of faith in kids.
-
While they're young, will be something they can draw back to
-
as they get older. And remember the unconditional
-
love of God where they go through a straw.
-
Eagles. Also, for me personally to give
-
back to those teachers who taught me about the truth and
-
believed in me, I know personally, what it's like when
-
somebody believes in you, even if it's just one person who then
-
bet most of you do to the most impactful moment for me came at
-
Camp last year, it was the final night and I asked the boys, if
-
any of them wanted to pray in every single one of them,
-
volunteer, they took turns they prayed for you their family.
-
They For strength. And some of the struggles, they
-
were going through. And they also expressed
-
gratitude for being able to see, hundreds of kids come together
-
to celebrate Jesus in a way, which they had never seen
-
before. It may not sound like much, but
-
knowing like, I did. And that several of these boys
-
had never prayed before, or at least told me that it was made
-
an unforgettable and one of the proudest moments of my life when
-
I can see God doing for our youth, in the new space is
-
finally allowing the To have a home somewhere where we can
-
really play it Roots, establish a continuity for them.
-
That's been a little bit tough, as we move through people's
-
houses and shared some spaces with businesses and even a
-
church and it's also easy for me to daydream.
-
I've pictured the future of Youth, it's in similar to today
-
and that there's a lot of laughter and prayer playing and
-
singing love that encouragement. But it's actually going to take
-
place in a Space where we can create those memories, and we
-
will always be able to come back to hopefully for a very long
-
time. But now there's another part.
-
I actually also picture these kids who are going to grow up.
-
They are going to graduate school and they will technically
-
age out of Youth. But they will know that the Hope
-
Center, even as adults will always be at home for them.
-
It's a place where they could still find that laughter.
-
Still find the friendly faces and people who will love and
-
care about them as much as Christ loves us.
-
Man of Aran didn't get you fired up about youth tonight.
-
I don't know what well, who's excited for the launch of youth
-
group, man? Praise God, that's going to be
-
at 6:00 tonight and parents. We invite you, like Sean said,
-
come on in and play a huge part of that at the Hope Center
-
tonight. Guys, let's get United in our
-
relationships. Let's grab these cards on our
-
seats and let's bring a friend next week, as we continue the
-
series with a message called, I still do.
-
If you need some prayer this morning, we're going.
-
I have a team member right up here up front to pray with you
-
and remember, whoever finds Jesus discovers real life.
-
And purpose have a great week guys.
