come on, we got so many he is reason and we are losing the
-
with the Do you see what I see?
-
Do you see what I see? Do you see what I see?
-
Do you see what I see? Here we are.
-
Come on. Give God some Glory this
-
morning. Yes.
-
In Psalms, it says our God who rides on the clouds, we praise
-
him. His name is the Lord, and we
-
celebrate and worship him. Come on, his name is Jesus.
-
We celebrate me worship. The king may let this song, but
-
this worship just be an overflow from your heart to his the king
-
is in the room. Come see.
-
This guards of Love upon he's here.
-
The king is in the room. We'll watch The Darkness flee
-
and he is coming. Who is these keep these, these
-
key. The king is in the room.
-
Break out across things. so, beyond the boundaries of his
-
It's never been in love, so great, he died.
-
So we could be heroes name. Another king.
-
His name is Jesus light of the word freedom, in his name.
-
I love that song that reminder that, you know, the savior's in
-
the room, he's an incredible King who sacrifices for us, he's
-
made a way for us. So no matter what we're facing,
-
he gives us this living hope. So let's continue to worship Our
-
God this morning. How great, the how high, the
-
mountain I could not I turn to her and spoke your name into the
-
night. and then through the darkness, your loving toward
-
through the Shine, Jesus Christ Milan, and you
-
believe this Not seal the purse.
-
You're buried body began to declare.
-
The grave has no clue that this morning sing it out to him.
-
Everybody. Just close.
-
Our eyes are focusing on. Jesus, says he the author and
-
the finisher of our faith of the chorus of the song says that he
-
has broken Every Chain by his work on the cross, it's already
-
finished. So, any prison cell that we're
-
still sitting in any chain that still together?
-
Because we chose to be in there today, but Jesus said, no my
-
work on the cross. It is finished, I broke.
-
Ditto. Let's give it up for Jesus this
-
morning. That's right, that's right, man.
-
I love those words, The Living. Hope if you, if you don't know
-
what that means, you have no context for that, you do
-
understand what it is to have a Living Hope.
-
Can I tell you that God has gossip the for you.
-
I don't care what you walked in here with today, whatever
-
burden, whatever weight you have, you can release it because
-
God's got something big for you. It's a hope that indoors it's a
-
hope this forever, no matter how big your problems are God's.
-
Got something for you because he's a big guy, he's a great God
-

-

-

-
It's right. Life online.

-

-
And our mission is to love people.
-
So I want you guys to take 30 seconds before he is seated and
-

-
Tell them you love them. Say hi.

-
I want to invite you to fill something out called a digital
-

-
7000. What we'll do is we'll get You
-
connected here, live off somebody.
-
Reach out to you over the phone. We won't show up at your house
-
or anything weird, but God cares about you and we care about you.
-
We want you to know that we love you.
-
If you are with us in person, you didn't take a chance to stop
-
at the New Year. Booth.
-
Please stop by R immediately following Gathering.
-
We've got a small gift for you. We'd love to hear your story.
-
Would love to share a little bit about who we are and where we're
-
going and really that flows out again our mission.
-
Our mission is to love people. See people far from God discover
-
the real life of purpose in Jesus because we know people,
-
here's the honest truth. Not everybody walks in here
-
today on, and on a Sunday and Sunday by Sunday basis.
-
In a good spot. People walk in here broken,
-
they're hurting. They've lost a family member,
-
they've lost a relationship. They've lost a job, and they're
-
walking, and they're looking for hope.
-
We know that God's got something for a minute.
-
There's prodigals constantly searching to come back home
-
because they don't have any place else to go in the church.
-
Should be the spot where they can come back into.
-
And we just love that we do that here and we're really going to
-
encourage you through our next message.
-
Here is because too often Ian, we count the people that just
-
show up on a Sunday and we love everybody shows up but we don't
-
count the empty seats. We don't count.
-
Who's not here. The opportunities that people
-
are missing just to get connected with what?
-
God's God, because God is searching for that.
-
Prodigal guys going to cross every life he can and has to
-
bring that person home. So, as Pastor Sean comes up
-
here, won't you guys gives it give him a big hand as we begin
-
our next series called brings give her a pleasure.
-
Sean scary bear. Ha ha ha.
-
Oh man, I don't usually get to come up behind.
-
Barry speaking. So I love you buddy.
-
He's heading out. He's like see you later band.
-
Get up for Barry by the way. I got this Motley Crew over
-
here, have to just call it out over here.
-
So Randy, this is your idea of this shirt.
-
Your idea, like, every great relationship.
-
That's right. I love it.
-
It's so it's sure it says, 11:15 errs, because I'm totally late
-
every every second Gathering. And the back says, come on
-
somebody. So come on, give it up for these
-
guys, amazing. And it comes just for me and
-
they leave right after the message, you know?
-
So it's exactly what it is. And yes, oh man, well, I got a
-
question for you guys. Have you ever wanted something
-
so bad? You stop at nothing to get it.
-
Every one of those things in life.
-
This is gonna sound really vain. But when I was 14, I want
-
nothing, but those Doc Martens shoes, you know?
-
I'm talking about over that in just a half thick sole, right?
-
And it take like a lifetime to wear through.
-
And at the time I was throwing newspapers for the Raytown
-
Tribune is a very popular newspaper.
-
Yeah, Jerry knows, right. And so yeah here yeah, we go the
-
roots, go back, right? And so my mom and her father's
-
life, Well they're in this business forever so there's like
-
a good newspaper job and so you basically through all these
-
papers couple thousand a week and just go around and go door
-
to door and beg for money for people to enroll the newspaper.
-
Begin with, right? And so I'm collecting quarters,
-
basically house to house. This is like, just called School
-
of Hard Knocks apparently. And so I clicked all those
-
quarters thinking, man, I'm going to get these Doc Martens
-
and just saved and saved. And my mom surprised me that
-
year with Doc Martens brand-new. My only pair of Doc Martens for
-
Christmas. I'm Ruby about $125, which is a
-
ton of money, and I wore those shoes.
-
I wish I Even today by one of those shoes all the way through
-
the soul. That's how much I wore my Doc.
-
Martens all through high school. I was dying for those shoes and
-
I never took him off. You'll bury me in those shoes.
-
Come on somebody, right? And some of you guys can relate
-
you know you stop at nothing. So you guys are just man you
-
kind of procrastinated for that test and exam.
-
You stayed up all night long and that's what good or not, kind of
-
counterintuitive. Some of you can relate to this
-
staple night to level up on the game, right?
-
To beat the video game or that level some, you guys stay up all
-
night last night where you guys at Surprisingly, there's people
-
in the room. So thank you for being here.
-
Come on somebody, give it up for our sleepy guys permission to
-
punch them. They fall asleep as we're
-
preaching today. Don't fall the window liked
-
Atticus. It's about will jokes at school.
-
Some of you guys are all in there was nothing stopping for
-
sports, right? The practice of five there for
-
you, stay at you stay after another hour like, you know, in
-
the season starts next season, you're gonna train all the way
-
through and just at your thing, right?
-
Like you to play as parents, we can relate to this all time,
-
right? We We get so few things it's
-
like last-minute. Your kid wants to be that very
-
special character. You know, for Halloween is the
-
day before you travel to every Halloween store, in Kansas City,
-
come on somebody, right? You do anything for your kids.
-
Your you finally just break down like didn't come seamstress this
-
day in age, oh, Angie and make that costume.
-
Stay up all night long, you don't somebody who's done that
-
before. Come on few you right.
-
You know, I'm talking about, could find that actual paper
-
mache or the actual pinata. So paper, mache to yourself as
-
parents. We do crazy stuff for kids,
-
right? And so they are really dive into
-
what looks like to do something very unique.
-
A very special to God calls all of us to do this, but really,
-
what is to stop at? Nothing to bring people to
-
Jesus? Well, looks like for us to be
-
all in for this thing called The Gospel.
-
What is the live on mission to be ambassadors for Christ.
-
And so I'm just inviting you guys really praying that the
-
spirit of God do in your life on this broken hearts.
-
Broken wheels for thanks of Christ and the Rally's.
-
This I'm not doing praying for a move of God but I'm praying for
-
a move of God's people today would be on Mission.
-
There's next three weeks that we would be inviting me.
-
Vesting that we had pour into our neighbors, our friends, and
-
bring Jesus, to the courtyards and into the highways, and
-
hedges for say, for the cause of Christ, and God is going to use
-
you. And so today, I want to
-
introduce a story. A really a powerful story found
-
the Bible Jesus is talking to some Pharisees is actually a
-
dinner with them, which is going to be important to understand.
-
And he's next to this prominent Pharisee, these religious
-
leaders that being asking questions to him.
-
And he answers like this and is found in Luke chapter. 14, if
-
you got your Bible, verse 15 says, this one of those The
-
table with him, heard this, he said that Jesus, blesses, the
-
one who will eat at the Feast of the kingdom of God.
-
To be a blessing to be with God, in heaven and Jesus replies and
-
he says something that's, that's pretty profound.
-
It's probably off what they thought.
-
The response would be. He's Jesus parable, the great
-
feast and so is this a certain man?
-
Which is Jesus. This is a parable, so Jesus was
-
prepared, great banquet and invited many a guest.
-
At the time, the banquet, he sent his servants to tell those
-
who have been invited should come for everything is now
-
ready. When the plates are set out, the
-
food is cooked man. Strike Up the Band.
-
The ambience is there. The house is ready.
-
Everything is perfect. All were missing is those that
-
we sent invitations to, so bring them in but Verse 18, but all
-
all, but they all began to make excuses.
-
It's going to sound familiar. This is what Jesus heard.
-
The first set, I have just bought a field.
-
I must go and see it. I got some business to take care
-
of. I can't make it to the Masters
-
banquet. I can't come to the banquet that
-
God prepared for me. I'm awful busy but please,
-
excuse me. No, That I just bought five yoke
-
of oxen, my way to try them out. I got a farm to take care of, I
-
guess that man was waiting for - responsibilities back at home,
-
so excuse me. Verse 20 is still another said I
-
just got married so I can't come now.
-
I got family. Take care of my got spouse, I
-
guess, maybe kids on the way. So I'm out, I can't be a part of
-
it. This was says in verse 21 the
-
servant came back and reported this to the master to Jesus and
-
the owner of the house became angry became indignant and he
-
ordered his servants, they go out quickly and Streets in the
-
alleys of the town of to the houses, just in the little
-
streets, in the alleys of town, and bring in the poor, bring the
-
crippled, bring the Blind and bring the lame.
-
And I love this. That Jesus was at this point
-
going to reach the people. He invited buzzing to reach all
-
the people. The, the destitutes, the
-
leftover the hurting, the people who have a home, the people are
-
left out and all of a sudden, it begins to bring them in and
-
said, service says, sir you ordered was been done, but
-
there's still room, the master told his servant and go out to
-
the Odds and the country lanes, if you were familiar with the
-
King James version says, go out into the highways and the hedges
-
and compel them to come in stop at nothing to bring people.
-
To the banquet, go out further, go out beyond the city Gates, go
-
into all the places and bring them in so that my house may be.
-
What does it say? Maybe.
-
Maybe this is important, maybe it may be full.
-
I want you, I want you bring so many people that the banquet
-
seeds are all full. First 24.
-
Remember he's talking to the Pharisees.
-
He says, I tell you he's looking around the room.
-
That no one of those who were invited will get a taste of my
-
banquet. And so this is a significant
-
Parable because Jesus has literally just open the door for
-
the gospel, to go, the entire world.
-
She's Pharisees. They had gotten invitation These
-
Old Testament. Jewish Nation.
-
These L would've known that Jesus is Messiah.
-
There is coming to redeem people from their sin, he was the
-
chosen one. They would on all these things
-
about Jesus. Now fact, they got invitation is
-
called the Old Testament. Come on somebody man named David
-
or Elijah Elijah, or Moses, or Abraham or Ezekiel?
-
Jeremiah. All these people have been
-
prophesying about. Daniel of the coming one, the
-
Messiah. They had the invitation of Jesus
-
saying, hey, guess what? Those are invited, no longer
-
invited. We're inviting everybody that
-
was no longer by Nets us. Amen to the bank.
-
Whatever in heaven with Jesus and Jesus says, don't you bring
-
everybody in, I want you to go out to the highways and hedges
-
and compel them. That means convince them, let me
-
share the good news of Jesus and bring them in.
-
And so today, I want to kick off this series.
-
What it looks like to be brought to Jesus.
-
Don't kick off this series of a story of a man who Jesus found
-
and how God used him and compelled him for the things of
-
Christ. Let's check out the story.
-
I'm John birt and this is my story pretty much is about 2011,
-
pretty pretty down in the dumps around that time.
-
I was pretty bad addict. I was actually doing some time
-
in jail, it's pretty out of my mind.
-
I was trying to fight everybody in the jail cell and really
-
didn't know where my life is going.
-
At that moment. It was so bad that I met All the
-
other inmates really uncomfortable.
-
So the jail bailiff brought me down the hallway and put me in
-
another round. I'll still going pretty crazy.
-
And I remember I sat down the block and it was Pitch Black in
-
there, except for the little light on the mail slot that they
-
bring the tray in through. And I remember the light shine
-
through the hallway on a piece of paper and I'll pick up the
-
piece of paper and it was the face section in the newspaper.
-
And at that moment I sat down on the bark and I was scared and
-
lonely. I just felt the Holy Spirit has
-
come on man. It's kind of like I was naked
-
and Jesus. It's just quote me right there
-
and all my all my anxieties and everything's kind of melted away
-
and ask the bailiff for a Bible. And that's pretty much how my
-
relationship with Jesus started. A couple months later, I went to
-
Cass County Jail, I was in there one night and is try around
-
midnight, something like that and you know, you can hear the
-
cellblocks opening down the hall.
-
So looking at everybody like, hey we got somebody new coming
-
down the down, the Away. Who is it?
-
It's our buddy. Dan comes walking in the Pod and
-
I could tell, he's had a pretty rough night.
-
I'm just pacing back and forth. They finally sits down in front
-
of my bunk. And I was like, hey man, you
-
don't have to sit down right there you, so I stole him come
-
up and sit on the top bar, put your stuff up here and that's
-
where he stayed for the next couple months.
-
You know, I was reading the Bible and yeah, damn, it Reed.
-
And to, We Do Hang out, we just read and I'll try to make sense
-
of a bad situation. And then smother guys would sit
-
down next to me and they want to hear it.
-
So I've read it out loud to them, and maybe they just lost
-
two. And I just wanted to some
-
comforting words eventually, it turned into just made reading
-
out loud to everybody. That came to the point where
-
they didn't have a choice because I was reading it out
-
loud anyway. So if they didn't want to hear
-
it, they decided to close their ears.
-
But everybody, everybody was listening.
-
The Pod that we were at there was 24 cell, block on the
-
bottom, there's a pony for sunblock on top.
-
So even the people up top leaning on the gate, listen to.
-
It was bruised. It was a pretty cool experience
-
and at this point I'm pretty much like a prodigal again.
-
I've been found at that moment. 10, 11 years later.
-
I got back into the world. You know, I started eating out
-
from the Tree of knowledge and I kind of slowly dip back into
-
into that lifestyle. I go Your dad's house and he's
-
telling me about all these great, things have just happened
-
in his life and he starts telling me about how Jesus came
-
and pretty much brought him to his knees and he's really
-
changed his life Grandma's. I had I was like a last thing I
-
was expecting to hear from him. So at that moment I was I was
-
ready and I was probably the best I've ever been financially
-
and with me and my wife but spiritually emotionally, I was a
-
wreck. Honestly so pretty much I
-
started going to church like Dan vide me on his bump here at real
-
life and God's really came into my life.
-
These last few months, she's got me, got me, quit drinking and
-
quit smoking started. Running sober life, praying a
-
lot more made my kids coming up to church.
-
They love it. It's just it's been real great.
-
Just looking forward to more opportunities as got in front of
-
me. There is really, I was just Try
-
to squander knows blessings that he's bestowed upon me.
-
You know, you look back at all. The things you have.
-
It's like land with me. Nothing without them.
-
If you have been xiety about asking, somebody just just
-
holding that in xiety and it's just gonna eat you up.
-
I just hope I may. I ask how we're going to say is
-
no, just take that leap of faith and if it's on your mind to ask
-
it. And that's how I was brought to
-
Jesus. And I'm inviting you to bring
-
someone Well, this is a story powerful.
-
It's amazing. He came out in this family and
-
he sat over here in the first and he stood up, I say, give
-
give it up man, he-he's tub. So tall.
-
Come on Jesus. You know, I mean, so cool to see
-
what God has done in his life and up just bringing somebody
-
right? And it's cool how Johnson, the
-
cell reading the Bible, right? And here comes Dan right.
-
What a great story is like. I didn't know how you guys met,
-
but now I've got, I know this is amazing and it's just funny how
-
God works through people. That's what this series is all
-
about. It just simply inviting you just
-
all through life in the circumstances, taking the gospel
-
to the darkest corners and sells write it, how God can use it.
-
And so, I'm going to say something about his story that
-
was so significant. I had asked him.
-
I said, how do you find Jesus? And he just stopped, it means
-
like point-blank, he said, hey Sean, I didn't find Jesus.
-
Jesus found me. I mean, imagine being in
-
solitary right? And the light of the Gospel
-
shines through the food, tray slot, and has a faith section,
-
the newspaper and gets the Bible.
-
Well, I mean it's amazing and our story is much Slimmer, isn't
-
it? That we all Found Jesus?
-
And Jesus, we are Jews found us. We didn't find Jesus.
-
It wasn't, our ability was not good.
-
We were we need clean a mess. So we didn't go far enough and
-
clean it up and make it good. Then Jesus accepted us.
-
No, no, Jesus found us. My friends is amazing.
-
Verse in the Bible. Its founder Romans 5:6.
-
My favorite verses says, we were utterly.
-
What? How about utterly?
-
Didn't come up fast enough so you're like, huh, you were
-
utterly helpless as a good illustration.
-
I like that but we were utterly helpless, man.
-
Christ, he came at just the right time and died for us.
-
Sinners only helpless. When it was nothing, we can do
-
to change our situation when you're in solitary, but it was
-
with there's nothing. There's no, there's another
-
chain and sin, what? Jesus did for us on the cross.
-
Who knows? We could never do in a million
-
lifetimes. Amen.
-
We never could do. What, what?
-
What happened? Romans 3:23 says, for a wheel
-
also, Fall short of the glory of God.
-
There's none righteous. No not one, but Jesus.
-
He became sin for us who knew no sin, so that we might become the
-
righteousness of God. Amen.
-
It wasn't our ability, it was are in a bill that Jesus Pursuit
-
us. Jesus came after us.
-
Do you think there's an accident that the faith section was in
-
the cell? These an accident that he came
-
to Christ? That Jesus has been pursuing us?
-
He's pursuing you today and so I'm just believing today that
-
God is going to shape your life and they've got Going to call
-
you away from would call the Gathering so we can scatter out
-
the gospel to bring people to Jesus.
-
Amen! So here's my goal, really for
-
this series is that we would each each of us in this room, we
-
would bring somebody just one person at some point, the next
-
three Sundays, the gotta put some build our heart that we
-
could witness to share the gospel.
-
You just invite out user card invited neighbor have a meal and
-
I'm out the church, whatever it is, and bring somebody into the
-
person's got here and the second goal.
-
And I think, This is way more significant is that over the
-
course of the next year, one year that we bring somebody to
-
Jesus, like, literally you see somebody come to saving faith,
-
not because of our ability, amen.
-
But was God himself, Jesus. So some of you guys going to
-
water, so you guys can plan something to sew some you to
-
reap and it's God, who gives the increase, amen.
-
So the pressure of seeing people coming to Christ has all on
-
Jesus, it's all on them and so we're simply going to be a
-
mouthpiece. And so this next year I was
-
thinking about this this is amazing if each one of us played
-
a part of somebody's story. Three this next year about 300
-
of us in this church that come on, average Sunday.
-
If we all played a part of the story, there would be a party in
-
heaven every single day of the week.
-
Amen. Would that be cool to know
-
there's a party in heaven going on because each of us played
-
part of the story, so it's not like, oh hey, it's Sean's dad to
-
be the witness her in the church, you know.
-
Know it's all a jobs are all ambassadors for Jesus.
-
Amen. And so I believe that God is
-
calling us in this. Bring series to play part of the
-
story. I live when John was in that
-
cell and he said the spirit washed over him and change.
-
So you understand about coming to Christ as you recognize for
-
yourself that we weren't bad. People becoming good, John
-
wasn't a good person becoming better.
-
No, no, we were dead people coming alive.
-
Amen, we were dead in our sins or may live to Jesus.
-
We were broken. We're in complete, we were
-
struggling and strangled in a Cell of sin, and Jesus made away
-
and set us free. Now, the reality is this, every
-
time you think back to that moment for John, he never
-
forgot. Obviously, when you accepted
-
Jesus and for all of us, Us, we look back that moment.
-
You should have hair on your arms, stand up.
-
Oh, thank you, Jesus. Amen.
-
Is what you did for me. I could have never done for
-
myself. Thank you Jesus.
-
And we get the privilege and honor of sharing Jesus with
-
somebody else throughout. Is this is that Christ stopped
-
at nothing to find us. And now we're called to find
-
other people. I love how John talked about his
-
favorite passage. In the scripture, they read out
-
loud to all the cell mates, by the way, it's amazing.
-
I just like what a picture. This is like, somewhere in the
-
body. Should be the Bible.
-
Some all right, he's reading the Bible out.
-
Loud. But his favorite store in the
-
Bible's prodigal, son. And what a picture of God's
-
grace. Here's the father.
-
That's been shredded on is Grace, has been abused and the
-
father. Jesus, God is waiting patiently
-
for his son to come home. It's no wonder that John love
-
that scripture. So today we're going to read
-
through the story of The Prodigal, Son.
-
You guys ready for this today? Just like yeah yeah we're going
-
to get there today. You guys ready little bit?
-
All right well Luke 15 is we're going to be so you're going to
-
run through this and it we're going to be basically in the
-
whole chapter. So there's three stories that
-
Jesus gives and it leads all it just kind of builds one another
-
in Jesus, he is again hanging out with Sinners, great centers
-
and it says this in verse 1, it says tax cluttered collectors
-
and other notorious centers. Who knows crack Tax Collectors
-
are notorious Has come on somebody.
-
Yeah, right some, you're like, I don't know if the the Cass
-
County collector, you know, assessors are here that really
-
cool actually, because it goes on to say, tax collectors and
-
other tourist. Centers, often often came to
-
listen to Jesus, teach, come on. That's how you know what?
-
The right church. Amen.
-
I mean honestly, I mean, Jesus was opposite of a lot of
-
religious, people would think went with Jesus attracted a
-
crowd. It was the notorious Sinners
-
that come out to listen to him. Often that.
-
I believe that's how, you know, in the right place when somebody
-
shows up, looks nothing like Jesus.
-
Is coming because it's a love of Jesus and are compelled by the
-
consul Lord to repentance. And so, Jesus was an attractor
-
of people that were far from him.
-
He loved the notorious Sinners verse 2.
-
It says this made the Pharisees and teachers of religious law.
-
What made them what Yeah, one person I like that.
-
Go Jerry made and complain, right?
-
These guys are upset, these guys are irritated why in the world
-
would Jesus associate with such sinful people and even eat with
-
them? Can you believe this guy?
-
They said their cross their arms, you look at Jesus over
-
there with these notorious Sinners.
-
I mean, we don't let us work, we serve God, we know God, he'd
-
have lunch with us. He did do this for us.
-
Actually. He just did last Parable, right?
-
They forgot. He was hanging out with a
-
tourist centers. Like them.
-
They didn't consider themselves as notorious in.
-
As they were better than most people, verse 3 says this.
-
So Jesus told them the story about fact he gets home three
-
stories back-to-back, okay? And so the first or is a lost
-
sheep sextours, lost coin, the third story, it builds on it is
-
the prodigal son. So first, for says this Jesus
-
story, If any man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost,
-
what we do, well he leave the 99 others and go into the
-
Wilderness and go to what was he to do you search?
-
He's going to search for the lost sheep until he finds it.
-
It's so important. Understand that Jesus is saying,
-
hey, I'm going to leave the 99. I'm going after the one until I
-
find that one and today, maybe you're the one that Jesus is
-
going to find. And when he has found it, he
-
will joyfully Care at home on his shoulders and when he
-
arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors saying
-
Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep in the same
-
way. This is the Heavenly part.
-
There is more, what? There's more joy in heaven, over
-
one Lost Sinner, repents and returns to God.
-
Number 99, others who are righteous?
-
And Having strayed away. So here's the theme.
-
So far Jesus tells these Pharisees.
-
They why you can play. Why are you doing this?
-
They're complaining about Jesus. Hang out tourist centers.
-
And Jesus says, let me tell you a story.
-
I'ma leave the 99 and the go find the one.
-
It's lost its broken, he's alone.
-
He was in safe who isn't found when I find it.
-
We're going to throw a party. That's what I'm gonna do.
-
These Pharisees are still set up their arms crossed.
-
Not really clicking, it's not tracking for them.
-
So Jesus tells them another story.
-
He goes on to say in verse 8 or suppose, the woman has Silver
-
coins and loses one, once you light a lamp and sweep the
-
entire house. Once you flip the couch and look
-
at all the crevices until she finds, or search carefully,
-
until she finds it. And when she finds it, she will
-
call her friends and neighbors, and say rejoice with me.
-
Because I found my lost coin. Dinner's on me tonight.
-
Come on somebody and the same way.
-
There is what helped me out there is.
-
There's joy in the presence of God's angels, even once one
-
Center repents and so here's a theme just keeps rolling now.
-
Only, if you leave 99 and searched until he finds it, he's
-
going to search carefully until he finds it.
-
He's a good every nook and cranny and every Highway and
-
henge. He's looking every dark corner
-
dark Road, and into the places that nobody want to go into the
-
overlooked, into the destitute, into the dark areas of the
-
world, until he finds every single person, and give the name
-
of Jesus. There's gonna be a party when he
-
finds them still not sudden for these Pharisees going to verse
-
11 and so is to illustrate the point further, like the obvious
-
not going to get this. So let me just throw it out
-
there for you and you just Rise of home.
-
And Jesus told them the story, he said, a man had two sons, the
-
younger son, told his father, I want my share of your estate now
-
before you die. In other words, dad, even know
-
you're alive. You're sitting right here.
-
You're dead to me. I'm over you.
-
So all my heritance right now. And so it says this, so as
-
father agreed to devise wealth between his sons.
-
Now, it's important to note right here that he gave half as
-
inheritance to his younger son. This is the product rule in the
-
story, they gave half his Heritage.
-
His older son, who's going to be the guy that's upset in the
-
story of the end. He split his inheritance right?
-
Away first 13, a few days later. This younger son packed, all his
-
belongings moved to some land and there he wasted all his
-
money on wild living he was he was probably squandered all his
-
stuff about that time is money right now, A Great Famine.
-
Swept over land began to starve. He persuade a local farmer to
-
hire him in the main. Sent him into his fields to feed
-
the pigs. The young man became so hungry
-
that even the pods he was feeding the pigs look so good to
-
him. So but no one gave him anything.
-
When he finally came to his senses, when he woke up when he
-
went All this money and it didn't satisfy him.
-
He was barely surviving through a famine.
-
He said to himself at home. Even the hired servants have
-
food enough to spare but here I am dying of hunger.
-
I will go home to my father and what a perfect picture of
-
repentance. Amen.
-
My go home to my father and this is what it's going to say.
-
Father, I've sinned against both heaven and you are no longer
-
worthy to be called your son, please take me on as a hired
-
servant, just take me back. Anyway possible, I humbled
-
myself. I've been humbled, man.
-
I've been down the road, the world not broken.
-
Just kept me back into your family at your presence and
-
please provide for me verse 20. So we returned home to his
-
father and while he was still a long way off I love this.
-
His father was It's about Psalm, that's amazing part of the
-
story. His father wasn't too busy.
-
His father was waiting and watching for her son to come
-
home. His son, his abuses, Grace
-
lunches presence, mad at him, angry him and left him in.
-
The father was brokenhearted waiting for his children.
-
His prodigals to come home. I want you to watch this because
-
this is probably one of the best descriptions of the heart of
-
God's found the Bible. The love of Jesus for us every
-
single day, it says this filled with Love and compassion, he ran
-
to his son, he took off, he is slammed the door and locked the
-
door. He ran to his son and embrace
-
his son and he kissed him. His son said to him, father, I
-
have sinned against both you and Heaven.
-
I no longer worthy to be called your son and a father.
-
I love. This is Alyssa way.
-
He didn't do it. I, this is so powerful.
-
He did say some where you been but long time, son I'm not sure
-
about coming back home, oh, hey, you can stay one night, but let
-
the door. Hit you on the way out.
-
He be out here tomorrow. Bro, he didn't slam the door, he
-
didn't ask him. What happened the money, he
-
didn't ask me if his money back. No, no, his father was so
-
excited. This is where he does.
-
His father said to the servants, he's cut us off.
-
Hey, yeah, I forgave you the moment, so I run to you, son.
-
He goes, there's, we're going to get the servants.
-
Come here, quick! Bring the finest robe in the
-
house, put on him, get a ring on his finger and sandals on his
-
feet and kill the calf that we've been fattening.
-
Come on somebody. It's gonna be a party tonight.
-
We must celebrate with A Feast, for a son of mine was dead, and
-
now is your turn. Life.
-
He was lost but now he is found. So the party began.
-
Come on somebody, right? Do you know when you came to
-
Christ, there's a party for you. And haven't, you guys know that
-
you guys are the Angels shouted. In heaven.
-
The moment. You said, yes, to Jesus.
-
You're the most significant thing.
-
You can spend your life on is a shared Jesus.
-
With people, you know, when you get to heaven, you can go.
-
You can talk to all these people that play a part of your story.
-
And then for the years and years and years and decades, maybe
-
centuries to come people to show up to heaven and they say, thank
-
you. So much for living on Mission
-
because it wasn't for you. I would have never known the
-
gospel. Thanks for playing Paul, small,
-
part of story Nelson. It's be so ecstatic.
-
Amen. And you can have parties, every
-
time you start watching The Gospel, keep moving, like, you
-
know, the party. Come on, somebody.
-
They'll the pardons going to happen and this is this is what
-
the gospel is all about. You see the theme of Jesus, he
-
left the righteous. He left movement called the
-
church, he left the people that are forgiven, and he went to the
-
most broken, notorious criminals, the people that were
-
the most needed. The Forgiveness, the people
-
abuse his grace, the most, there's nobody passed this and
-
he ran through them with forgiveness.
-
Amen, this is just me today. I'm like the only one excited
-
about forgiveness, right? I mean, dude, I'm telling you,
-
this is what she'd be like real life.
-
Should be the party Church. Come on somebody like we're
-
responsible more parties in heaven than any church in our
-
area because we're tearing up for Cass County for Belden for
-
rumor through bringing people to Christ.
-
This is what God has called us to do the churches.
-
Exist for herself exist, for the world around us.
-
Amen, the Run mission. Is that the people that aren't
-
here are the people were called to reach we come to church or
-
you can call this church. We come here to gather together
-
so called a gathering and so we can hear, we could equips, we
-
get empowered, we get encouraged, we get built up.
-
We reminded we get put back in the spirit of God and so yes
-
this is why I'm doing it and then we go live it out for a
-
week and so Monday morning you are the church.
-
Amen. And then Tuesday morning and
-
Times were kids on Thursday night when you read a strangle
-
them. Come on, somebody, right?
-
That's your Jesus to your kids. I mean, all week long, wherever
-
you go, you're called to be on Mission.
-
Your Ambassador Christ. You are the church.
-
Okay, so we got stopped, just going to church.
-
Come on somebody. We start being the church living
-
on Mission, and the route is every single day.
-
We have the opportunities in front of us, to stand up to be
-
bold and broken and shared Jesus.
-
Now, I'm not saying it's some scripted, Bible College, you
-
know, preaching session? It's a man, which God, Doing
-
your life with her. Christian was not Christians
-
like hey man, you ever thought about come to church with me
-
down my to that auto man was that I'm just just a little
-
conversations, you plant some seeds and then God's going to
-
open doors, and you can play a part of the story of bringing
-
people to Jesus. And then you get to throw a
-
party in heaven. This is, this is what Jesus is
-
saying. He's talking to most religious
-
people. The time he said this woman to
-
do, I'm leaving you all. I'm gonna go through my soul.
-
Part of these people come home. This is his pattern.
-
They speaks about over and over again.
-
Now, these religious leaders, this moment are still not
-
picking up ways. Putting down and so Jesus.
-
He just kind of lays out for me. Just puts it at Point Blank.
-
Here it is in verse 25 says, meanwhile, the older son, this
-
would have been the Pharisees. These older son represents, the
-
religious leaders, the people complaining about Jesus hang out
-
centers. So meanwhile, the older son was
-
in the fields working, he was serving God, he was falling the
-
things as Master wanted and we returned home.
-
He heard the music and what helped me out heard.
-
Dance and come on somebody. I just had to say that for the
-
Baptist in the house. Come on somebody.
-
There was dance. I said I shall throw it out
-
there a little bit bad as friends but there was I just
-
said it. There it is praying for you guys
-
to know recovering people right verse 26 and he asked one of the
-
servants, what was going on? He said your brother is back.
-
He was told and your father has killed the fattened calf.
-
And we are celebrating because of the safe return.
-
The older brother was angry. He was mad.
-
He won't even go into the house. He wouldn't go in the party as
-
father. Came out and he begged him, son.
-
Come in your brother's home. He's been found.
-
This is so exciting to be part of this in the sun replied.
-
All these years I've slaved for you Dad, either once and never,
-
once refused to a single thing, you've told me that's touching
-
the law perfect. I've always served you.
-
I'm honored God, I call this like the ministry saying like
-
I've done so much you know, they get.
-
So I'll look all things a different.
-
God, how could God ever treat me this way?
-
But why would, why would this happen to me?
-
I'm doing all this for you and all the time you never gave me
-
even one young goat to Feast on with My friends the whole time
-
he never did this for me. I've been the whole time
-
following you put my time energy in this never once threw a
-
party, like a throw for the, for your other son.
-
Not my brother Han and you're gonna have a party for him.
-
What is wrong with you? Dad, you celebrate killing the
-
fatted. Calf is supposed to be for me,
-
this guy's just completely selfish.
-
The father said to him, look dear son, you've always stayed
-
by me. I gave you half my inheritance
-
and you stayed in my presence. You're the blessings of me.
-
Blessings of God, the protection of God all around it access to
-
me. 24/7. For everything I have is yours.
-
You own. It already very given you the
-
inheritance. So we had to celebrate today
-
because he has something that he didn't have.
-
You had be for your brother was dead and has come back to life.
-
He was lost but now he is Found come all somebody.
-
This is why we're going to celebrate today.
-
Why do we bring people? Why did Jesus leave the 99?
-
You know, Jesus is in the search and rescue business.
-
You know, Jesus is in the business of taking dead things
-
and turn into life. Jesus in the business of
-
unlocking, the prison cell of sin.
-
Amen. In fact, Jesus cross lines
-
crossed lines of Many religious leaders of time wouldn't cross.
-
He hung out with through. Spera sees these religious
-
leaders, these criminals, these Tax Collectors.
-
He was found in places that you never imagined God to And then
-
he turned water into wine. Come on.
-
I was the first miracle of Jesus.
-
People still hung up on that, amen.
-
I mean, just like, I can't believe this and these Pharisees
-
are crossing their arms. Instead of Crossing Lines for
-
Jesus. Matter of fact, Jesus crossed
-
lines of borders. He went to Samaria, he crossed
-
the lines of ethnos of people of, of races Journal called
-
that. He crossed the line of genders.
-
He crossed the cross for crying out loud.
-
Amen. Literally.
-
He put his body across the cross and bridge, the gap between
-
Heaven and Earth. Earth and made it way for us for
-
forgiveness that he exchanged all of his righteousness for all
-
of our wrongs and bridges the way, the it calls on Jesus be
-
forgiven it made you. That's what Christ did for us.
-
Amen. And so now we get to cross lines
-
for others. We're going to kind of people
-
that are going to lead into The Fray they're gonna live on
-
Mission. They're going to invite people
-
that we would never invite in our normal life into our life.
-
Just so we can see them find Jesus.
-
Amen. They're really kind of people
-
are Salt and Light to our neighborhoods.
-
Invite people over at our table had the Backyard Barbecue and
-
that neighbor that annoys you. Come on somebody, the guys like
-
Deeds Jesus, you know, I'm talking about the person that
-
you're like, man out about that guy.
-
Yeah, that's the guy that God's going to change.
-
Amen. He's not beyond the grace of
-
God. There's no, he's not be on the
-
things of God and these religious leaders, with a cross
-
their arms and said, nah, nah, this religion in it, for me,
-
this isn't the way I want God to be, and it across her arms and
-
it would have kept people outs. I've been to churches like that.
-
I'm not saying that's our church at all.
-
Eh, Amen, we're not that church but the reality there's people
-
that do this quite often. There's a religious people do
-
this quite often. I can't believe her as people
-
let those people in Hebrew that person serving, man.
-
You believe God's and use them that doubt.
-
There's no way. Look at all I've done, man,
-
we're going to three young Easter gatherings.
-
I like going to three all Too much work.
-
It really do people come to Christ sabourin doing it for
-
its. We started this for and the rat.
-
The reality is this we get to do this like we get to play the
-
part of the story God we get to share the good news of Jesus.
-
We get to play it, just a small microcosm of a piece of God or
-
God is lives being changed and people come to Christ.
-
We get to be a part of. This is a call of God.
-
Amen. Your ambassador of God, you're
-
the work of God. You're the best Bible in Bates.
-
Ever going to read your kids are going to read you like a book.
-
You know, it's just so cool to play a part of the store with
-
your family. I mean, as as a family, you guys
-
should have family devotions. You guys should be getting in
-
the word of God and you reach your children for the cause of
-
Christ. I hate seeing church kids leave
-
God has all time though. Doesn't it Ministry.
-
Kids church kids to get burned down on the stuff.
-
It's like you live it out at home.
-
Amen. Make you try to get out your
-
Bible and do devotion and make it really short.
-
Come on somebody. Make it fun, do some fun stuff.
-
With your Bible, right? And just is pray with them and
-
give them Jesus and it's been cool.
-
My family, I've been reading the Bible with the my with the kids
-
but really just Jack, you know, and it's so cool.
-
I taught them. The word of God is a sword and
-
he's like, dad's not sword a sword.
-
He's just like, you know, just like does he understand what I'm
-
saying? It's something that's a sword,
-
you know, this is the word of God is like and so I read the
-
verses to him showed him. Now I'm doing this or Jewels
-
with my boy Jack you know and you know he's only kindergarten
-
right so I'm like hey just go to Mark you know 14 and he finds
-
me. Mark 14 and boy, that guy found
-
one like three seconds. I was like, dude, you mark that
-
you cheated or something, right? I mean, it's crazy, but it's
-
cool seeing him. Pick up things of God.
-
We actually finished the book of Mark when the two nights ago,
-
read each chapter, and I just kind of picked up most nights,
-
you know, it just, but he was passionate about it, you know,
-
and he'd ask questions and halftime wouldn't listen, and we
-
kind of gather, you know, just but just like push the things we
-
got to pull things got being a witness at home and we could do
-
this with all people our lives, right?
-
The great joys of his parents have seen her kids come to
-
Christ and follow Jesus. Amen.
-
So we'll cross any line for that.
-
And so the route is were called across lines for every single
-
person that's who God has called us to be the church calls to me
-
throughout is this. We're not better than males.
-
We're just forgiving. Amen.
-
It's the real deal of difference between me and my lost.
-
Brother is, I've been found. That's it, I'm not better than
-
them. My poop still stinks.
-
Come on somebody, right? Look, we're all skeletons
-
closet, all battles. We face all these things.
-
This isn't a prayer Perfection. It's a prayer of confession.
-
Like you're not like oh God I'm be perfect for you is like God,
-
I'm forgiven and now we get the Tune to show another person.
-
Where the food is this? A God?
-
But I've only God's grace. I'm alive.
-
Somebody God's grace, I've been changed.
-
Don't you think about the thief on the cross?
-
This is how God's grace works. This is, this is the kind of
-
tourist centers that Jesus forgives thing about the thief
-
on the cross. Now I just can't wait to get to
-
heaven and ask this man. How did you actually make it
-
into heaven? Let me think about this, this
-
thief on the cross. He was cussing in mocking Jesus
-
moments or minutes or maybe within an hour's.
-
Of Jesus dying for our sins. He's cussing him with his friend
-
on the cross. And he like, he just got never
-
prayed. Like, he didn't go to synagogue,
-
he didn't get baptized. Come on somebody.
-
He didn't read through the Septuagint, memorize the Bible
-
at the Pharisees did, they didn't memorize first five books
-
of the Bible, he never gave, he never served a cup of cold water
-
and the name of God, he didn't go out and lead a movement.
-
He didn't show up on a Sunday or Saturday at that point.
-
He didn't sacrifice in the system.
-
He was a criminal All this guy probably ever prayed for ate a
-
meal. Yeah.
-
How in the world did he get in? Now think about this part of the
-
angel pie asking to showed up, right?
-
Like he dies like Easter Sunday and Angels like what are you
-
doing here? What are you doing?
-
I don't know. Here.
-
Well, how'd you get here? I don't know.
-
You don't know you ever prayed or you follow God?
-
I I don't know that. Let me get my supervisor Angel,
-
right? Let's pump this up the pipeline
-
figure. This out, this one's hard cases.
-
So, Here Comes This Archangel. Right.
-
It's like, hey, what's your name?
-
I'm just a thief on the cross. Oh, well, how'd you get here?
-
I don't know. Well, you clearly understand the
-
doctrine of justification through faith in Christ, huh.
-
Did you believe in the inerrancy of Sure.
-
You believe in the dwell in the Holy Spirit.
-
You're sealed. Always put her promise and a
-
Redemption. But what basis why allow you to
-
come into heaven? I love it all.
-
The thief on the cross have to say is the man little cross said
-
I could come. That's the only thing folks.
-
The only qualification is that Jesus said you could come, I
-
love what Jesus does here in his dying breath.
-
When we mankind humanity is crucifying them jamming sword
-
into feeding given vinegar. Mocking him was bleeding and
-
suffocating a died about to take on the sins of all Humanity.
-
Here's the heart of God as it Lily bleeds for us.
-
Today, you'll be with me in Paradise to the most notorious
-
sinner in that day. Come on somebody.
-
That's the grace of God. And for those of us are like,
-
I'm not good enough and God never loved me.
-
And I mean, if God knew what I did, oh, bro, he knows what you
-
did. Come on somebody.
-
And he loves you to forgive you and where the words Jesus at his
-
best, but what example, he says, all these religious leaders are
-
crucifying Jesus and Jesus is Bringing people with him to
-
Heaven. Is there.
-
No. Greater example of what it is to
-
be as a Christian to look no further than the cross dying.
-
Breaths. He still bringing people with
-
it. What do you think our life is
-
called to be like do you think Jesus died?
-
So you could have the American dream and then on the side you
-
can go to church. You think Jesus died.
-
So you can have your way and then if come somehow to
-
spiritually, that's cool. I'm one day.
-
We got a fast forward to going to heaven and we're going to
-
meet this guy named Paul. We all know Paul, right.
-
We've been a church. We preached on that stuff, all
-
get the church you learn about Paula but the reality is we
-
might we're going to be following day and say man, it
-
was incredible, what you did for the gospel.
-
He's going to tell us some stories man.
-
I'm with the Bible is not recording all these credible
-
stories but he's it's about, we on the road to Damascus.
-
He was persecuting Christians. Right?
-
Who's passionate right? He was Hebrew.
-
Ooh, Hebrews, and he was killing Christians, and maybe how he's
-
scared to death of. And Jesus talked to him and he
-
skills are as eyes. And he thought I was gonna die.
-
You got poop my pants. You just can't tell you this,
-
right? And then, then I'll scales fell
-
off. And he went to Jerusalem, and he
-
doesn't die again because now the Christians are trying to
-
kill him, right? This way, things are going to
-
kill him and so he jumps at your gets the basket low down a wall,
-
the cause of Christ, that he met Jesus, and she just changed his
-
life. Like Lily had the conversation
-
sat down like the, you know, Wilderness experience.
-
Let's put us all Jesus. And then I lived on Mission, he
-
would travel a missionary Journeys, and those doses call
-
was to leave. Were, is at to bring people the
-
gospel and really, to bring people to Jesus and how he go
-
around the kind of known world that Mediterranean Sea on three
-
different Journeys, not be Shipwrecked and how you get to
-
preach the Kings and into Caesar, and all people are so
-
close to coming to Christ and some of them did and had made
-
the gospel to Spain. And you start here addition to
-
people like hey here's some guys at that led to Christ that God
-
used me just a small piece of store but hey this Is Timothy.
-
Come on somebody, write this book, you've heard him, right?
-
And then there's Titus and this is a Aquila and Priscilla and
-
its darkest darkest and these are all these people early
-
Christian face. All these guys who are high five
-
motor club, right? We're all killed for their
-
faith. This is, this is what we did,
-
and this is where we went and pulls.
-
You told these stories, your sit there and listen to him, like,
-
man is so cool what you did. And then pausing to ask you, he
-
said, where did you go with the gospel?
-
But what Ali did you go down what city did you reach?
-
What church did you plan? What Bible said you start?
-
Who's with you who'd, you bring, who'd you grow where these
-
people at. What was like how did you reach
-
your city? What would you change?
-
What? He shake up and Bellman room are
-
Cass County. What you do?
-
Would you go? And the rally is this for so
-
many Christians, especially American Christians.
-
The answer is simply going to be, I went to church.
-
I went to church. I don't know if Paul came to the
-
Mountain church. I heard this recently America
-
here, I'd know letter. Come on somebody.
-
Somehow we've confused Christianity with a Sunday
-
morning. Somehow we confuse that we bring
-
people. That means that we show up and
-
if God, you know, just lifestyle evangelism baby.
-
It just happens bro. We fight uphill for the things
-
of Christ, my mother's got a church.
-
So passion all things through Christ.
-
He said if God called me to reach my hands into a burning
-
room and the fires of hell I'd grab somebody and pulling on my
-
skit about off in a boy's the Vangelis for Christ.
-
I'm not saying to be that We're all called to be an evangelist,
-
a men, like you think it's a happened.
-
Change that God's put me in these moments.
-
And if your life is hard season right now because on display for
-
you to tell the people, hey, you know, this is nothing because
-
I'm forgiven, this is, this is nothing.
-
This is temporary, man. I'm about to walked in on the
-
wrapped up and this perhaps that this is God just showing off and
-
I want to help you see what God has.
-
Your story is the most powerful thing you could ever share.
-
That's what you're going to do. This were called to.
-
This is A new service. You know, something we set out
-
today? Did you like?
-
This is a scattering of the Gathering, right?
-
Like, we're not going to come back alone and just invest in
-
people. I love the strategies Redemptive
-
relationships people that you every person in your life, who
-
has see as a relationship that God put there for you to be a
-
part of their Redemption. Amen.
-
That's that every person, every person including your family
-
including your lost family guys, put you there to be ridiculous
-
ship. The second thing is to invest in
-
the night, every person in your life.
-
If you can simply just invest in, you know, don't be that
-
weird old preacher that goes out and bangs on door starts telling
-
about going to hell, right? Everything's about of Angel.
-
Investing start preaching on a street corner, dumb, talk about
-
stand next to somebody else at the soccer game and saying, hey,
-
man, I've been noticing all the games are so passionate about
-
stuff. And what's your story?
-
That's all I'm asking you to do. I'm asking to be a weirdo, come
-
on somebody, huh? But I am done asking me where to
-
Please share Jesus, broken people find things that are
-
broken. They want them in.
-
Jesus is a solution in Jesus, has the answer in Jesus
-
forgives, and Jesus loves Jesus instead, Iraq.
-
You'll have to have your life together.
-
To tell us about Jesus, many people came to Christ in his
-
last year of this church came from people, their lives are so
-
jacked up, people couldn't believe their following Jesus,
-
and that's why they sleep. All right, I'm just encourage
-
you this season in this moment. I believe God is calling us to
-
be the kind of person that we get to heaven.
-
We tell Paul. Hey, when I want you to know
-
about, Down the room warm and God did some stuff.
-
Thank you, Fellers, by the way, but I think God's derailleur
-
through our church. I think God could do crib.
-
So, through our church, we reached our city and Beyond we
-
were going on Craigslist or churches and send people out
-
because the spirit of God, just called Super Bowl with the
-
gospel, and it didn't look like it did back then, but it looks
-
like it does. Now we just give them, Jesus,
-
we're praying for people. So God does have a Revival in
-
our city. This is this a story as we could
-
to write today. Amen.
-
That's the story that matters. That's the only story, The
-
Ultimate matters so says in Romans 10:14.
-
This is last scripture where had her day, but it says this.
-
It says how then can they call on the one?
-
Who the never believed in? How can they believe in the one?
-
Never heard. How in the world is the world
-
going to know about Jesus? They don't hear the good news of
-
Jesus from somebody's been changed by Jesus and how can
-
they hear without someone preaching to them, sharing the
-
good news of the Gospel, not going to preach unless they're
-
sent by God as it is written. How beautiful are the feet of
-
those who bring good news. God is giving you beautiful
-
feet, come on, somebody to bring the good news of the gospel and
-
today is a sending service, but that means is I'm going to
-
invite you guys to say As the holy spirit of God to play a
-
part of the story of bringing people to Jesus, not just
-
bringing people to hear, but being a witness or your ad.
-
I'm just believing God's use your church every single day.
-
This next year and Beyond to throw a party in heaven.
-
You guys ready for this? Be part of the story of what
-
Jesus is going to write as believe in God.
-
You do something credible through us.
-
The name of Jesus. I'm going to cross some lines
-
and stop at nothing to bring the good news of the Gospel to bring
-
people to him. Probably come before you You got
-
thank you for what you did to us for us.
-
You stopped at nothing to get to us.
-
You brought us with you, even your dying breath.
-
He forgave sins of the worst of the worst and since the day God,
-
we play a part of your story and Son prayed for those today that
-
say yes to Jesus. I feel like spirit of God for
-
the call of God that was sent out as a messenger as a as a
-
basa der than my life was more than just a video game, or a
-
sport, or a school or work. My game is on a mission.
-
There's relationships in my life.
-
That I'm going to do my best to share, Jesus with and pray for,
-
and care for, and invest in the Vite.
-
So this year, it's just all in for Jesus.
-
I don't see. God reached my family and my
-
community Beyond I was going to play the part of the story and
-
maybe for some of us, we think, Matt, I just been going to
-
church today. I want to change that store and
-
I go to heaven. So you know what?
-
I want all across the place. I'm at a you were.
-
God brought me. So they had that.
-
You feel like God is asking to be sent out this year and bring
-
people to Jesus. I have a look around, you'll
-
lose your hand high, and that's me when playing the part of the
-
story. Three kids all across the place.
-
Father God, see the hands into the hearts God to use us got as
-
missionaries. God uses us as Messengers guys.
-
Ambassadors for you. God to do every part of our life
-
is a Ministry. God is not Sunday morning.
-
God. Help us to be the church.
-
Not go to church. God help us to serve you and
-
give us strength. God, that really church starts.
-
Now it just lasts or entire lives.
-
Got so ever, we go governed bring the church with us and
-
we're inviting people into the fold.
-
You're buying lost, brothers and sisters.
-
Look down on. Nobody got were no different
-
than then that could have been us.
-
It was us. And so God, give us a
-
mouthpiece. That's both of the Gospel.
-
Let's pray, big prayers and love on people and see you change
-
paper, a group. People in those of you that had
-
recognized, you're not the thief on the cross but you can relate
-
to a thief on the cross, but you walked in a day and you thought
-
mean I've really done nothing spiritual, but I feel the power
-
of God and I feel like I need to hear the words of God today,
-
that you can come, you can come home today.
-
I recognize that Jesus died for me, he loved me.
-
Today on your relationship with Jesus.
-
I've been, I've been doing my own way but today, recognize I
-
need to come home today, that my father in Heaven is waiting and
-
watching for me to grab me and embrace me say I love you and
-
say, welcome home, and throw a party today in heaven.
-
And so today, if you need Jesus would I be looking around?
-
That's you Davies. Raise your hand high in his
-
place. Does that mean I need Jesus
-
today if that you come on see your hand because I need Jesus
-
maker online. Come on.
-
Well that's you just pray this prayer some of the prayers.
-
Saves you. But your heart towards God.
-
Sprays, very says, father, I'm coming home, I'm coming home.
-
I'm walking that relative humidity.
-
I'm coming home to the house. God, I can't wait to feel your
-
Embrace. I think you for sending yourself
-
to Die For Me, cover my sins. So God forgive me.
-
God, you have my life. I'm ready for a new start.
-
Thank you for the spirit of God coming in.
-
Got, thank you for changing me. Got to feel you right now.
-
Got, thanks for all you're doing God, I surrender to you got on
-
be a mouthpiece for. You got to use me to change the
-
name. Nations and be on Mission.
-
Got to be sent out today, even as my first day of my first, oh,
-
my God, but live for you. And I pray this in Jesus name,
-
the church said, amen. Come on, give it up for God.
-
Come on, bringing people home the Dame.
-
Well hey if you made that decision today we are just so
-
excited for you. I just want to give you some
-
next steps that you can take right now.
-
The first thing you do is get, you can get your phone out and
-
text RL next to 97,000 and a member of our team would love to
-
just reach out to you. Reach out to you this week,
-
excuse me, answer any questions that you might have it.
-
Just a quip you with some resources that we have.
-
And another thing you could do on your way, out the door here,
-
there's a table in the back with some red bags and each of those
-
bags is a Bible and you can just take one of those home with you.
-
Just dive into God's word, man. Just see what he has for you
-
this week. And there's other resources in
-
there as well and we're just again, I can't stress enough how
-
excited we are for you. If you made that decision today,
-
you know, Sean just got done challenging us to really stop at
-
nothing to bring people to Jesus, I want to give you some
-
steps. You can take starting today,
-
actually. So tonight is a really cool
-
opportunity. If you are a teen or if you're a
-
A parent that has a teen. And of course as you can see
-
right here, this this glorious image, it's nugget night
-
tonight. How cool does that sound?
-
And you know, I am a little bit bummed I see the cut off his
-
12th grade. I was trying to Lobby to maybe
-
push that up a little bit for some other nuggets fans like
-
myself, but they they stress, you know, teens only.
-
So you got to respect that. But if you've never checked out
-
life group before what an awesome opportunity to dive in
-
tonight, it's a great group. Full of awesome people.
-
You're going to hear a gospel message.
-
It's straight from the Bible are going to have so much fun,
-
you're going to eat. There's literally going to be
-
like hundreds and hundreds of nuggets is what I've been told.
-
And I'm sure the dipping sauces will be a plenty.
-
So you'll want to be there. And we would just love to see
-
you guys there at 6:00 tonight at The Hope Center.
-
And then I can't even believe we're saying.
-
This already feels like the new year was just behind us.
-
We're only three weeks away from Easter.
-
Can you believe that? And so, yeah, man.
-
Easter is awesome and, and just really continuing that idea of
-
bringing Bringing people, what a better time to do that Easter at
-
Real Life Church, really excited.
-
Just to celebrate all that Jesus did for us, you know, we could
-
live a thousand lifetimes and never match his glory.
-
We could never do anything to get the gift of Salvation to
-
earn it ourselves. It's because of his free gift,
-
it's because of his grace and his mercy and we get to
-
celebrate that in a huge way. And so we're really excited to
-
just open the space up for three.
-
Gatherings on Easter morning, that's going to give more
-
opportunities for more people to find time in their schedule to
-
come out here. That's going to just equip our
-
children's ministry to have more room for more.
-
Kids, just come out and have a great time, so get excited.
-
If you're not already and be praying over who you can just be
-
bringing out to Easter at real life, Church's cards on your
-
seat and then also. So the kids are going to be
-
bringing home cards as well too, and they're going to get a
-
special A prize, if any of our kids, bring a friend on that
-
morning. So make sure you let them know
-
about that. There's going to be Easter egg
-
hunts that each of the three Gatherings.
-
How cool is that? They're going to leave here with
-
eggs, full of toys, and all sorts of stuff.
-
And of course they're going to hear about the real reason.
-
It's not about the bunny, right? They're going to hear about a
-
God who loves them by sending his son Jesus.
-
Now, there's so many cool things that are happening that morning
-
and you can tell it's going to be a whole lot of fun, but I
-
mean, I think maybe just the cherry on top of all that is.
-
We also get to celebrate baptisms.
-
Who's excited for another round of bad's isms at Real Life
-
Church, man? That's what that's just like the
-
lifeblood of what we do. It's just that celebration of
-
everyone who's made these decisions and so maybe I'm
-
talking to you right now. Maybe you have made that
-
decision for Christ over these last several weeks or months
-
since the last time we've done baptisms and you're ready to
-
make that bold statement of faith.
-
And I just encourage you. If that's you Get on the
-
website, Real Life, Church kc.com, and sign up for baptism.
-
Or maybe you've just been kind of wondering what that looks
-
like. Go ahead and do that even if
-
you're not so sure. Because we would love to reach
-
out to you hear your story and just help you on that next step
-
of your journey. So be excited to be praying
-
about this. Baptism Sunday on Easter.
-
Well guys, everything that happens at Real Life Church is
-
because you are so generous, your generosity makes a huge
-
difference. Here's a real practical way that
-
it's making Difference in this season, your generosity is
-
funding, a flyer, a mailer is a better way of saying that a male
-
or that's going out to twenty thousand houses in this
-
surrounding area, just letting people know, hey, we're here.
-
We're for you. There's a God who loves you and
-
we just want to help you connect with him by connecting with
-
other believers and people who are just supportive of you and
-
ready, just to meet you wherever you're at and so that's because
-
of your generosity. So thank you so much for playing
-
a part of that and we're just Excited to see who God brings in
-
through these doors on Easter. Now, if you don't call real life
-
home, if you're brand new this week, I just want to say.
-
Again thanks for being here. And number two, we're not going
-
to ask anything from you today. In fact, we want something for
-
you, not something from you. This Gathering was our gift to
-
you. But if you do call real life
-
home, here's three ways that you can play a part of generosity,
-
you can go to Real Life Church kc.com.
-
You could text any amount to eight four, three, two, one, or
-
you can drop. Drop cash or envelopes checks,
-
all that good stuff. We have the giving box in the
-
very back and of course our Usher's are coming by with the
-
buckets. If you find yourself this
-
morning in immediate need of food or clothing or shelter.
-
We just invite you to go ahead and reach in the bucket as it
-
passes by grab any loose cash. You see you to take care of
-
those immediate needs today and I invite you to check out this
-
video. A real life.
-
Hey, this week is so special. Mean hear the story of John Bird
-
and him and prison reading the word of God made in the Dane
-
invited back to church maze. So so powerful.
-
It's all do, I want to invite you in a very special way to be
-
a part of inviting people to real life, the more importantly,
-
to Jesus, it's a more than ever in this season.
-
As we gear up, three Sundays from Easter Island, encourage
-
you To reach down those chairs. Grab those bruva tations in.
-
Pray, that God is going to use you.
-
Every day this week to invite somebody made their close to
-
you, but far from God to Easter the season, or maybe just next
-
Sunday, man. We have another amazing video,
-
really. The story of bring somebody to
-
Jesus that sometimes it's happens.
-
The most unusual ways and just God just moves and so on,
-
encourage you to be open made to be authentic and all the nerves
-
or the He be scared or worried. Stop.
-
You from making it simple and value of no idea.
-
I want a phone call can do, just wouldn't even be reached out to
-
John and said, hey, come over at some excited to share with you
-
all. Have been inviting you to know.
-
God, if I you, to come to church, it's amazing.
-
How cool God has moved through John's life.
-
And that can be your story. You can be the person that
-
brings somebody to Jesus. So this week, stop at nothing to
-
bring somebody to Jesus and fight them out the Easter.
-
They just see what God can do through your faithfulness to
-
him. Don't stop for anything.
-
Did you chant Something Free? Grab these, bring rotations,
-
throw them in your pocket, throw them in your purse.
-
Give them out to the people in your circles that, you know, are
-
struggling for something. They need something because
-
Pastor said, we are going to stop at nothing to bring others
-
to Jesus continued to Bruno, come along next.
-
We continue to come in. We're going to hear stories of
-
the prodigals and people that have come home and is going to
-
be so powerful. Can't wait to hang out with you
-
guys next week as we tear this roof off just to bring people to
-
the feet of Jesus. Hey, if you need prayer for your
-
reason, we'll have a team member up here.
-
We would love to pray with you. Awesome.
-
Awesome gathering on your way out.
-
Hope you guys have a great day and as always remember, whoever
-
finds Jesus just covers real life and purpose, see you next
-
week.
