  1. Hey, good morning, real life church, excited to see you this

  2. morning. I just want to invite you to

  3. stand to your feet as we get ready to worship.

  4. And beyond that, I'm going to invite you just to sing out

  5. today and just to clear these words and sing directly to him

  6. today. Does that sound good?

  7. Let's have some fun this. Morning.

  8. I saw Satan. Fall like lightning.

  9. I saw darkness. Run for cover.

  10. But the miracle that I just can't get over my name is

  11. registered in heaven. I believe in signs and wonders.

  12. I have resurrection power still. The miracle that I just can't

  13. get over. My name is registered in heaven.

  14. My praise belongs to you forever.

  15. Come on church and sing. This is my testimony from death

  16. to life. Because grace rewrote my story,

  17. I'll testify. By Jesus Christ the righteous,

  18. I'm justified. This is my testimony.

  19. This is my testimony. Hey, man, is that your story

  20. today? Let's keep singing.

  21. Come on, come together, sons and daughters.

  22. Come together, Sons and daughters bought with blood and

  23. washed in water. Sing the praises of the Spirit,

  24. Son and Father. Our God, we'll finish what he

  25. started. Yes, our God, we'll finish what

  26. he started. Oh, this is my testimony from

  27. death to life. Because grace rewrote my story,

  28. I'll testify. By Jesus Christ the righteous,

  29. I'm justified. This is my testimony.

  30. This is my testimony. All right, I invite you to

  31. declare this loud and proud this.

  32. Morning. If I'm not.

  33. Dead. If I'm not dead, then you're not

  34. done. Greater things are still to

  35. come. Oh, I believe.

  36. If I'm not dead Then you're not done.

  37. Greater things are still to come.

  38. Oh, I believe. Can't Sing.

  39. If I'm not dead, Then you're not done.

  40. Greater things are still to come.

  41. Oh, I believe. If I'm not dead Then you're not

  42. done. Greater things are still to

  43. come. Oh, I believe I whip this up to

  44. him. This is my testimony from death

  45. to life. Because grace rewrote my story,

  46. I'll testify by Jesus Christ the righteous, I'm justified.

  47. This is my testimony. Oh, I'm alive.

  48. This is my testimony from. Death to life.

  49. Because grace, we wrote my story.

  50. I testify by Jesus Christ the righteous.

  51. I'm just about This is my testimony.

  52. This is my testimony. Come on, real life, is that your

  53. story today? Is that a testimony that you can

  54. declare? Well, so I just invite you with

  55. your hands and with your voice and with everything you got.

  56. Can you just give him all the praise this morning, all the

  57. glory? Come on, we've got a reason to

  58. sing. Amen.

  59. Amen. Give him some praises this

  60. morning. And that is my story.

  61. I hope that is your story, that God has a big story for your

  62. life and He came from death to life for you and that work was

  63. finished on the cross, but it's not finished in our life.

  64. He has an active and living work in our life, so let's praise

  65. Him. The cross is my beginning, the

  66. line drawn in the sand, the end of all my striving.

  67. Now I am born again there. Jesus was forsaken, so I will

  68. never be. His grace is my salvation, the

  69. gift of God, the work of Calvary.

  70. It is done, it is finished, and Christ has won.

  71. He is risen. Grace is here and love is

  72. triumphed. All over, dead forever.

  73. The cross needs no addition. His mercy is complete.

  74. His love is not in question. The Son of God has spoken over

  75. me. It is night, it is finished.

  76. Christ comes one, He is risen. Grace is here and love is

  77. triumphed over day forever. Over every circumstance His word

  78. stands final and forever. It will not be shaken as He

  79. alone as one in all. You believe it.

  80. The strongholds are bowing to the Savior and resurrection

  81. power over every circle. Sometimes in the world stands

  82. final in forever. It will not be shaken.

  83. Is He alone as one it all? It is done, it is finished, and

  84. Christ has won. He is reason and grace is here.

  85. Love is triumphed over, dead forever.

  86. Give his fingers the mercy world.

  87. Not forgiven seeing his name. He is worthy of our prayer.

  88. Jesus Mercy one, because we'll sing your praise forever.

  89. Come on, let him know you love him this morning.

  90. That's right. We serve our God.

  91. He says it is finished, the freedom that's found in now that

  92. it is finished because of the work he did on the cross.

  93. And man, this morning, I believe that God has something for you

  94. even right now. It's amazing what happens when

  95. the atmosphere shifts, when you just invite the Holy Spirit to

  96. be here with us. And he always is.

  97. But just to say, God, we welcome you here.

  98. And it doesn't just have to be on a Sunday morning, but to

  99. invite him into your relationship and to your car

  100. ride, to work and to your friendships, but to say God,

  101. you're welcome here. And just to see how he changes

  102. things when you invite him here. We're going to do that this

  103. morning as we just continue to worship Him.

  104. There's nothing worth more that will ever come close.

  105. Nothing can compare. You're.

  106. Our living home, your present Lord, and I've tasted any seed

  107. of the sweetest of loves, where my heart becomes free and my

  108. shame is on time. In your presence, Lord Holy

  109. Spirit, you are welcome. Come fly to this place and fill

  110. the atmosphere. Your glory, God, is what our

  111. hearts old to be overcome by. Your presence, Lord.

  112. Yes, here in your presence, Lord, there's nothing worth more

  113. that will ever come close. The thing can compare.

  114. You're our living hope. Is your presence lose?

  115. I've tasted a scene of the sweetest of the loves, where my

  116. heart becomes free and my shame is on and done.

  117. Yes, it is in your presence, Holy Spirit.

  118. Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, you are well calm Confle to this

  119. place and fill the eyes atmosphere Your glory God is put

  120. our hearts along to be overcome by your presence alone.

  121. Holy Spirit, You are welcome comfort in this place and fill

  122. the atmosphere. Your glory God is what our

  123. hearts alone to be overcome by your presence alone.

  124. Yes, it's your presence. I want to know you, Jesus, want

  125. to be overwhelmed by you Jesus, go

  126. away if your presence. Let us experience the glory of

  127. your goodness. Let us become more aware of your

  128. presence. Let us experience the glory of

  129. your goodness. Let us become.

  130. More aware of Your presence. Let us experience the glory of

  131. Your goodness all day. Let us be calm.

  132. You're aware of your presence, Let us experience the glory of

  136. the Holy Spirit. You are welcome comfort of this

  137. place and fill the atmosphere. Your glory card is what our

  138. hearts long to be overcome by. Your praises Lord.

  139. It's your praises, Lord, Do it only you.

  140. Let us become more aware of your presence.

  141. Let us experience the glory of Your goodness.

  142. Let us become more aware of your presence.

  143. Let us experience the glory of Your goodness.

  144. Holy Spirit, we're in all of you today and we just, it's just

  145. insane that you would just bestow your presence upon us,

  146. God. We're just so unworthy and just

  147. make so many decisions and do so many things that take us so far

  148. from you, God. But you love us anyway.

  149. And you're here with us this morning, God, and we're just in

  150. awe of that. And we're grateful for that God.

  151. God just I pray your presence just stays in this place today,

  152. God, and that we're just so tuned in and locked into you,

  153. God, that your thoughts become our thoughts and your words

  154. become our words, and your heart becomes our heart.

  155. God, we just thank you for who you are, who you've been, and

  156. who you will always be. To the name of Jesus we pray A.

  157. Man. Good morning real life church

  158. man, thank you so much for worshiping with us today.

  159. Man, just love hearing your voices just crying out to God

  160. and man what a great start to our day.

  161. Help me real quick welcoming an amazing group of people hanging

  162. out with us online, Real life church online.

  163. Can they hear you today? Will you make them feel super

  164. welcome? Hey man, love you guys.

  165. Hey, before you sit 30 seconds, greet someone around you.

  166. Maybe even learn a new name today.

  167. Go for it. 30 seconds. After the gathering, if you'll

  168. just line up orderly in the hub, there will be a quiz on all the

  169. names you learned and people you met.

  170. So please stick around. And I'm just kidding, that's not

  171. true. But hey, thanks for connecting,

  172. thanks for being here. Awesome to see you today.

  173. Real quick shout out, real heartfelt shout out to anybody

  174. who's brand new with us at Real Life Church this week.

  175. I want you to know we've been thinking about you.

  176. We've been praying for you. We've been prepping for your

  177. visit and just planning on you being here here.

  178. Everything that has happened to turn this this school into a

  179. church is with you in mind and we're honored to have you here.

  180. And so I'm just going to ask one small thing from you.

  181. If you're brand new with us today, if you've never done this

  182. before, fill out that card that's on your seat.

  183. And I promise you, nothing weird.

  184. Nobody shows up at your door, calls you or spams your phone or

  185. anything like that. We just really think of it like

  186. this. We just want you to introduce

  187. yourself to us and we just want you to know that we're here to

  188. answer any questions and would love just to.

  189. Get to know you more at whatever speed feels comfortable to you.

  190. Fill that out during the gathering.

  191. You got plenty of time today. And then just hold on to that

  192. and we'll tell you later in the gathering about where that card

  193. will end up. So just seriously welcome.

  194. Honored to have you here. You're a very special guest.

  195. Thanks for hanging out with us today, guys.

  196. Real life church is a church on a mission.

  197. The reason that we set up and do all the things and just really

  198. want to connect with you is because we're church on a

  199. mission. Real life church exists to see

  200. people far from God discover their real life and purpose in

  201. Jesus. And we believe that each and

  202. every week God is changing lives, hearts are being changed,

  203. relationships restored. Just so many cool things have

  204. happened throughout the life of this church.

  205. And that's not on accidents because we're we're so serious

  206. and heartfelt about our mission. And so thanks for playing a part

  207. of that mission. You play a part when you just

  208. tell people about how God's been working in your life.

  209. You play a part in the mission when you to invite friends and

  210. family, neighbors and coworkers just to come hang out with you

  211. here real life on a Sunday morning.

  212. So thanks for playing a part of that.

  213. And if you haven't been, hey, perfect time to start doing that

  214. right now. Quick question, did you enjoy

  215. your summer life group? Let's hear you loud.

  216. Come on, did you enjoy your life group?

  217. Yeah, I did too. It was awesome.

  218. And I'm excited because you know that those wrapped up here not

  219. too long ago. But man, be thinking about Fall

  220. Life Groups because they're coming sooner than we think.

  221. In fact, I'm excited to announce that August 24th sign ups for

  222. Fall Life Groups go live. Does that sound cool?

  223. Yeah, you should be excited. I'm excited too.

  224. Just a quick thought. You probably heard it before,

  225. but I think it's one of those things you can't hear too many

  226. times. You know, life groups are not

  227. just an offering of real life church, not just like a program

  228. or things we do. Real life church is a church

  229. that's made-up of life groups. Does that make sense?

  230. Like just the heart of that? Life groups are where you really

  231. dive in and find that community. It's where you really meet

  232. people heart to heart. A lot of soul care in life

  233. groups, a lot of life's change, a lot of healing found in life

  234. groups, a lot of fun, dare I say, found in life groups.

  235. So I highly encourage you, if you've never done it before,

  236. you've heard people talk about it, you know, maybe, maybe it's

  237. been the 5th, 6th or 7th time you've heard it.

  238. Can I just encourage you don't make a decision today, but just

  239. pray and pray hard about what God would have you do for fall

  240. life groups. How, how, how you play a part in

  241. that. Because I promise you it's going

  242. to change your life in a great way, maybe a small way, but it's

  243. going to be a great way. And I just really encourage you

  244. to be praying about that. Start that now.

  245. I think it's a Sunday, August 24th, probably a Sunday, sign

  246. ups will go live. So there you go.

  247. Look out for that man. I got some bummer news, though.

  248. That was the exciting news. Here's some bummer news, though,

  249. in a little way. This is our last Sunday of at

  250. the movies. Everybody say, oh, I know,

  251. right, But hey, you know what, we're going to do it up big and

  252. we're going to have fun. If you're brand new and you

  253. don't really know what at the movies is it's church, which is

  254. done in a in a little bit of a different way.

  255. You're going to see some really cool people coming down the

  256. aisles here trying to make this feel like the movies.

  257. You probably smelt it when you came in that fresh pop popcorn.

  258. Amazing. But I just want to encourage you

  259. with this. Today's message is going to just

  260. light a fire in you. It's going to be encouraging and

  261. uplifting and you're just going to leave here on fire for Jesus.

  262. And so before we get in into it, I want you to know, as our

  263. ushers come down, they've got soda, they've got bottled water,

  264. and they've got popcorn, and it is all yours for the taking.

  265. It's completely free. It's completely on the House.

  266. No one's going to judge you for whatever you pick, OK?

  267. So if you want the full flavor, Doctor Pepper, you take it this

  268. morning, OK? You have my permission.

  269. Eat the popcorn, have fun and enjoy.

  270. And without further ado, you're going to help me welcome the

  271. stage. Pastor Sean Petri, give it up

  272. real life. Come on.

  273. Good morning, real life. How you doing?

  274. Good. Good man.

  275. I'm excited for today. First of all, if we jump in

  276. though, something special is coming next month.

  277. You may not know this. There's a birthday coming up.

  278. Real life turns 8 years old next month.

  279. Come on, somebody. Is that crazy?

  280. Eight years. That's awesome.

  281. So I want you to mark your calendars.

  282. This is special for the Dream Team.

  283. We're going to do something really fun.

  284. We were going to do a Dream Team birthday bonfire.

  285. So if you guys serve on the team, you guys give you guys

  286. make the difference. I want you guys come out.

  287. We're going to do something very special.

  288. I'm not sure how we're going to pull us off yet, but a full pig

  289. roast. Come on, somebody.

  290. So I need some victims of some volunteers to stay up the whole

  291. time to make this happen. I'm just kidding.

  292. No really do so but it's gonna be awesome so I'm excited it's

  293. gonna be hosted at Jerrys house, Jerry and Lee and Kinman and

  294. it's going to be awesome. So I can't believe it's been 8

  295. years already. So many lives being changed and

  296. we'll get to shot in the arm the stories and really the vision of

  297. what God is going to do in this next season.

  298. So Week 5 at the movies, the last week.

  299. Bummer, but it's gonna be a good Sunday.

  300. So I love this series. So today is dedicated to those

  301. of us that struggle knowing God's will.

  302. What direction should I go? If you're confused in the season

  303. of why God and where God and what's got up to you, or maybe

  304. you asked by God to do something and you don't know why God is

  305. asking you to do it. That often happens and you

  306. follow God. God asks us to do sometimes

  307. strange things, but this is good news.

  308. You're gonna find out. You're not alone.

  309. We have some awesome scripture walk through the triumphal entry

  310. and this message really entitled Faith When life is murky and it

  311. often gets murky. Amen.

  312. Amen. If it's not murky, you let me

  313. know. You can come up here and preach.

  314. OK, This is always kind of murky, but they were jumping.

  315. This is the chosen. It's going to be season 5,

  316. episode 1 called Entry. Check it out.

  317. Guitars. I was like, this is awesome

  318. music, right? Oh man, the triumphal entry.

  319. This is in scripture. Matter of fact, this isn't just

  320. found in one piece of the Bible. This is actually found in four

  321. places in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

  322. And this scripture is is so powerful and often times we

  323. breeze by it and it's amazing. This might be the only scripture

  324. actually fitting for a king you find really in the Gospels.

  325. So we're going to jump into John chapter 12 and it says this.

    John 12 chapter mention

  326. The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival

  327. is talking about the Sabbath, heard that Jesus was on his way

  328. to Jerusalem. They took palm branches and went

  329. out to meet him, shouting, Hosanna.

  330. Blessed is he who comes the name of the Lord.

  331. Blessed is the king of Israel, the king of Israel.

  332. Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it as it was ridden.

  333. Do not be afraid, daughter. Zion, His name for Jerusalem.

  334. See, your king is coming seated on a donkey's Colts.

  335. And at first his disciples did not.

  336. What's it say? Did not, I did not understand

  337. all this. Only after Jesus glorified did

  338. they realize that these things have been written about him,

  339. that these things have been done to him.

  340. And here's the big idea, as you look at this Scripture, is that

  341. Jesus wants us to choose compliance over clarity.

  342. Jesus wants us to choose obedience over times of

  343. obscurity. Even we don't have the answers.

  344. He wants us to follow him. And you see his disciples, they

  345. didn't understand what was happening at this time.

  346. God wants us to follow him when life is murky, when it doesn't

  347. make sense, you don't know where to go, you don't know exactly

  348. what's happening. And maybe you're in that season

  349. right now. I know for me, this last few

  350. weeks has been kind of a real murky season with my family and

  351. and faith. My, my oldest stepbrother Chad

  352. passed away 2 Wednesdays ago at 44 years old and I had a heart

  353. attack working at Walmart in the backroom.

  354. And it's just one of those seasons like, OK, God, like what

  355. are you? What are you up to?

  356. Like it's just all the words that come to mind.

  357. Just, it's just so young. Who knows?

  358. 44 is young, right? I mean, he's like, wow, like

  359. man, it was confusion. It's murky.

  360. I've got family members that wake up all night, just go on

  361. walks and the Independence Police Department stops and what

  362. are you doing? And, and the quote, I'm just

  363. walking through some pain. Like you just don't know what's

  364. happening, like you're confused. And that's been this season.

  365. And one of the things that you learn as you walk with Jesus is

  366. that we can trust the master and not our own master plan.

  367. Amen. That we don't have to hold the

  368. pin to everything now. We like to have the master plan.

  369. Amen. We like having all the details.

  370. We like to have it organized. We want to want to know what's

  371. next. We want to know the season

  372. that's coming and why we're in the season.

  373. We often tell Jesus, I trust you with the contract of my life as

  374. long as I can hold the pin. Amen.

  375. This is usually how we operate. Like we don't like Jesus

  376. necessarily being the architect, but we like them being control.

  377. It's easy. We're like we're desperate for

  378. clarity in the midst of confusion, like in our faith.

  379. Can we follow Jesus in confusion like this confusion play a part

  380. of faith? What happens if we don't have

  381. the answers? And so if you look at this

  382. episode, it's pretty unique because there's so many things

  383. straight from Scripture. You see, not the electric

  384. guitars come on somebody right, but the palm leaves being put

  385. down, the clothes being put down, him riding on a donkey.

  386. You have them shouting Hosanna, which means save now all these

  387. things are found in scripture and the chosen is really

  388. interesting because it does some awesome things with some artwork

  389. with some imagination. They they take some items and

  390. they they show off some things of God.

  391. They do some things in this scene you may not know about

  392. that nod to really Jesus being king.

  393. There's a bridle that's on this donkey that they believe

  394. historically has been passed down since the exodus.

  395. So this is in the Jewish culture, the Jewish people and

  396. end up with King David in the past on all through generations

  397. and they put it on this donkey in this scene and it's really

  398. amazing. You think about King David

  399. because Jesus really comes out lineage of King David.

  400. You have Joseph that really comes from there that proves

  401. Jesus lineage as a king and then Mary whose lineages proves that

  402. Jesus the right bloodline. And so it's really cool the

  403. chosen this does this extra work to put in these little pieces so

  404. we can really recognize who Jesus is.

  405. Now you never know that without researching it, but it's just

  406. amazing. I give a nod to the Bible.

  407. What happens in the triumphal entry?

  408. Jesus gets into the city and the Pharisees that tell Jesus you

  409. need to tell your disciples and the people following you and the

  410. children to stop praising you. And what does Jesus tell those

  411. Pharisees? You guys remember if they don't

  412. praise me, even the there you go.

  413. I knew you guys knew it. The rocks will cry out.

  414. If they don't worship me, even the rocks will cry out.

  415. It's amazing. This is a big moment.

  416. This is a massive moment. Jesus sets up everything.

  417. He this exact time, the exact place where it happens, when it

  418. happens. It's not a mistake.

  419. There's a Old Testament or a New Testament historian.

  420. He's really just a secular Jewish historian in the 1st

  421. century named Josephus. And he estimated that the time

  422. of the triumphal entry, when Jesus goes in Jerusalem, there

  423. have been 2.7 million people that Jesus was proclaiming that

  424. he was king too. It's pretty amazing.

  425. It's not actually what Jesus doing here.

  426. This is the first time he's going public with who he is.

  427. He's telling the whole world, I am a king, I am Messiah, I'm

  428. here, I have arrived. A few weeks ago we talked about

  429. the woman at the well. And remember, he was the first

  430. person that she, he revealed to that he was the Messiah.

  431. He did in private. And now Jesus is proclaiming to

  432. the entire world that he is the King of kings and Lord of Lords,

  433. and he's telling everybody. I think it's, I think the Holy

  434. Spirit's coming today. They're pretty good.

  435. That's amazing. He's telling the whole world

  436. that he is the King of kings and the Lord of Lords.

  437. I mean, his popularity had increased.

  438. He was a threat to really the Pharisees and the system that

  439. have been set up that that pretended to know who God was,

  440. but they really know who Jesus was, who God was.

  441. And so he resurrected Lazarus from the dead.

  442. We talked about that last week about Martha, Mary and Lazarus.

  443. And his popularity is absolutely huge.

  444. And he's allowing something to happen here.

  445. That may be the most typical thing ever to happen in Jesus's

  446. lifetime that pictured who he truly was.

  447. He actually allowed himself to have a royal parade.

  448. Think about that. Like Jesus is this humble

  449. servant. He owns no property, he never

  450. gets married, he doesn't have kids, He's outcast from society.

  451. If people are trying to kill him for what he stands for, his

  452. claims to be God and forgiving sins and all these things is God

  453. is being mistreated by humanity. But here in this moment, Jesus

  454. just gives a little nod. I'd do who he is and say, yeah,

  455. put a parade on for me, get the donkey, get the things and

  456. worship who I am. It's absolutely amazing.

  457. But you think about this parade, it's kind of weird because

  458. everything makes sense except for the donkey.

  459. Like if you were a king of kings, you wouldn't come right

  460. in a donkey might be coming in some rusted beat up truck down

  461. the parade, right? I'm you get the white stallion,

  462. maybe an elephant or some ornate camel decorated or something.

  463. But who in the world to pick a donkey?

  464. This is what Jesus does. And the disciples are confused.

  465. And it said this in John 1216. We read Abednego is at first his

  466. disciples did not understand all this.

  467. That's good news, Amen. That's good news for us because

  468. often times we don't understand what the guy's doing.

  469. Oftentimes, like I don't know why in the world I'm getting a

  470. donkey and you're coming into Jerusalem.

  471. This makes no sense. And it says they didn't know

  472. until it was glorified. Think about when Jesus

  473. glorified. You're talking about death,

  474. burial, resurrection, sighting, and then Jesus glorified.

  475. Like they had no idea what the plan of God was.

  476. And oftentimes we want the answers, but we don't have the

  477. answers. The key disciples was this.

  478. Even though they didn't have clarity, they still chose

  479. obedience. They still followed Jesus.

  480. Amen. Even though they didn't have the

  481. next step or the master plan, they still chose Jesus.

  482. Think about this, you can follow the master without the master

  483. plan. Amen.

  484. You know, often times you want to have all those steps and

  485. those things, but that's what makes him God.

  486. He holds the keys. So what things did not did not

  487. understand. It's found in Matthew 21 says

  488. this about disciples since as they approached Jerusalem they

  489. came to Bethpage on the Mount of Olives and Jesus sent 2

  490. disciples saying to them, go to the village ahead of you and at

  491. once you'll find a donkey tied there in her colt by her.

  492. Untie them, bring them to me and if anyone says anything to you

  493. this is amazing, Say that the Lord needs them and he will send

  494. them right away. Think how crazy this request is.

  495. This be like going down because the Lord told you to to the the

  496. next city, which let's call peculiar.

  497. That's an awesome name for this, right.

  498. And you go down to the Flying J. There's interesting characters

  499. of the Flying J, right? And you're and you're gonna go

  500. in and you're gonna look for two cars, right?

  501. And you're gonna say I need the keys to the cars.

  502. And maybe it like we're keeping animals, right?

  503. We'll do a Jaguar and a Mustang. Come on somebody right?

  504. And you just go tell them, don't you?

  505. I want you guys to try this today.

  506. And so I I need the keys to your car.

  507. And they say what in the world you talking about?

  508. The Lord needs them. The Lord needs.

  509. I want to see you guys try that, Amen.

  510. The Lord needs your nice new Tesla, Amen.

  511. That means a lot of things the Lord needs, you know, maybe it's

  512. the Lord, maybe it's us, I don't know.

  513. And I just want to see, I mean, think of the boldness and the

  514. act of faith for his disciples to literally go borrow somebody

  515. else's Burrow. Like I'm going to take your

  516. animal because the Lord needs it.

  517. The trust of the Lord had a plan.

  518. It make no sense what God is doing, but they did it anyway.

  519. Amen. They didn't understand the plan,

  520. but they followed in obedience what God had and often falling

  521. God makes absolute no sense. We, we saw this with Peter when

  522. Jesus talked about going to the cross and Peter says no, no, no,

  523. no, no Jesus, like I'm not gonna let you go to the cross, like

  524. you're not going to die. And so it says in Matthew 1622.

  525. It says Peter took him being Jesus aside.

  526. It began to what, what's it say? Rebuke him?

  527. We we've used this verse quite often for the will of God, like

  528. Peter had no idea what God's doing.

  529. It begins to rebuke Jesus. No, you know a clue like I know

  530. you have a master plan, but my plan is so much different than

  531. your plan and we're going to follow my plan.

  532. He says never, Lord, he said this will never happen to you.

  533. Never go to the cross. We'll never let you die.

  534. And look what Jesus says to Peter.

  535. He says get behind me who get behind me, Satan.

  536. Like, that's not the word you want to hear from Jesus behind

  537. me. Satan, you are a stumbling block

  538. to me. What's it mean to be a stumbling

  539. block? You're in the way.

  540. Like you're tripping up the plan of God.

  541. You're you're trying to drive the plan of God off course.

  542. You don't have in mind the concerns of God, but merely what

  543. what's it say? Yeah, human concerns.

  544. You're worried about your plan. And I got a plan.

  545. And often times we want to run our own play.

  546. And Peter, he just puts his foot in his mouth.

  547. And this is amazing. Jesus was offended by Peter's

  548. disobedience and defiance of the plan that God had.

  549. Jesus was offended by it. And oftentimes we have our

  550. master plan. It's us saying that we're in

  551. control. Like I trust you as the master,

  552. but as long as I have my way, as long as I get my direction, as

  553. long as I get the answers now, as long as it makes sense.

  554. But Peter unknown, like he didn't know what you're talking

  555. about. Like we don't even know what

  556. we're talking about. We tell God to do certain

  557. things. So Peter, what he's ultimately

  558. telling Jesus is that he wants everybody to go to hell.

  559. Like, Peter had no idea that what Jesus had to do on that

  560. cross. Amen.

  561. He had no idea that Jesus had to take himself as a perfect

  562. sacrifice, as a Lamb of God, and present himself to the Father

  563. and pour out the wrath of our sin on him and be the permanent

  564. perfect sacrifice for our sins. Peter had no clue that was going

  565. on. And we don't know what's

  566. happened either, do we? We like to think we do.

  567. Like I like to think in the next step, but I don't know the next

  568. step. And ultimately what Jesus is

  569. telling Peter is you have no business getting in my business.

  570. You have no business getting my business.

  571. You ever stepped in somebody's business and they're like, you

  572. didn't stay in your own business.

  573. This is what Jesus is telling Peter.

  574. Mind your own business. Just stay in your own lane.

  575. You don't know what you're talking about, but Jesus knows

  576. what he's doing. Amen.

  577. Jesus knows exactly what he's doing, and it's so easy to take

  578. control. It's human nature.

  579. Every single time. If you look at my own family and

  580. Lord, what's going on? And I just have to simply trust.

  581. Like I can't see the full picture, but Lord, I trust

  582. you're writing a story that you're close to us, like you're

  583. in the valley. There's certain things that

  584. happen in the darkness. Certain things happen with God.

  585. It feels absent when you don't know what's happening next.

  586. And so I only encourage you guys with some 3 truths.

  587. I think it'd be super powerful for you guys today, but three

  588. truths, they're going to help you stay close to God in the

  589. murky moments. So #1 if you're taking notes,

  590. you guys ready? Muscle confusion.

  591. Somebody say muscle confusion. Any anybody like workout people.

  592. I saw Dan, by the way, do you see Dan come down here, pass

  593. some popcorn. You know what I'm talking about.

  594. I told him, I said, where's the calendar?

  595. Shoot, it looks like a lumberjack.

  596. You know, I thought, dude, I need to start working out so I

  597. can use that joke next time on myself, you know, but but it can

  598. be a while. But muscle confusion.

  599. You go work out. And if you get in the same

  600. routine and you do the same workouts, the same rhythms and

  601. the same reps and the same practices over and over again,

  602. what happens to you? What happens?

  603. You plateau. Exactly.

  604. You absolutely plateau. There's things called hit and

  605. you know, intervals, all these different things.

  606. You try to confuse your body. If you get in the same routines,

  607. your body gets used to it and it doesn't react, it doesn't grow

  608. and you plateau. You flat line you, you, you

  609. don't move up, you just get stuck.

  610. And if you work with a trainer, you, you know about working out,

  611. They, they introduce all sorts of random stuff that they put

  612. variations in. They make it random.

  613. They put in confusion. That's what's called muscle

  614. confusion. They introduce instability into

  615. of your life and the new pattern of your workout is actually not

  616. to have a pattern. Amen.

  617. And this is what happens physically, but what happens

  618. spiritually. Jesus often does the same thing

  619. like he's not going to put you through the same trial and the

  620. same test and you can just go up ace the test been here before.

  621. I've got it figured out. He's going to use confusion to

  622. strengthen your faith, says in James 1-2 says, consider it pure

  623. joy, my brothers and sisters, when you face trials of what,

  624. what's it say? Many kinds.

  625. You're ever going to face it just that one simple trial.

  626. Then who got that? Pass the test on the greatness.

  627. I'll know the plan from here on out.

  628. It's going to work out really well.

  629. There's going to be all sorts of different trials as God is

  630. trying to what, grow you, Amen. He's trying to get you a little

  631. spiritual buffness. He's trying to get you to

  632. improve your faith, to grow in your faith and says this

  633. because, you know, the testing your faith produces

  634. perseverance, that every trial we face is a test.

  635. Amen. I mean, you guys are old enough

  636. to remember when the TV's used to do certain things, like it's

  637. only a task. Remember that this is a test of

  638. the American broadcast system. You guys remember that?

  639. Am I just that old? Right?

  640. All the young people like, huh? T VS turned off.

  641. Remember that you used to play a national anthem.

  642. Then they go, Yep, at midnight. There you go, Tim.

  643. You're a night owl, aren't you, buddy?

  644. I know, right? It's a test.

  645. It's a test. Think about Jesus.

  646. He very rarely did a miracle the same way twice.

  647. The thing about how you healed people, I mean, sometimes he, he

  648. would spill on the ground and rub in their eyes, right?

  649. And heal somebody's blind. Other times you say he'll wash

  650. in the pool. Sometimes you say go down the

  651. river and dip 7 times. Sometimes you say stand, stand

  652. up, take your mat and walk. Sometimes he would let somebody

  653. die and then he'd resurrect them.

  654. I mean, he just, it's just unique.

  655. And we, we think that life is giving the same variables, the

  656. same problems, but God is trying to grow our faith.

  657. And so if you're confused, guess what?

  658. You're right where Jesus wants you to be.

  659. Amen, Amen. I mean, if you, if I would be

  660. concerned, if you weren't confused a little bit, like if

  661. you told me I know God's will, which sometimes people come to

  662. me and say I have the will of God for your church and I'm

  663. like, OK, it's probably the Chipotle burrito, but we'll have

  664. a conversation. Amen.

  665. It's interesting. So 1 is muscle confusion and two

  666. is unorthodox methods. Somebody say unorthodox methods.

  667. God is going to use strange things to grow us.

  668. God uses strange things, Amen. Very strange things, quite

  669. frankly, they are very strange. Isaiah 55, eight says this for

  670. my thoughts are not your thoughts.

  671. Drew tried to work this in the prayer.

  672. I saw that, but thoughts are not my thoughts, neither your ways,

  673. my ways, declares Lord, as the heavens are higher than the

  674. earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts

  675. are higher than your thoughts. Who knows?

  676. God can do what we can't do, Amen.

  677. And he knows that we don't, Amen.

  678. And so sometimes we like to insert ourselves into the

  679. driver's seat, but the Lord knows everything and can do

  680. anything. But we often forget that kind of

  681. power. And so when you follow Jesus,

  682. you got to use the word different.

  683. It's just different. There's a different perspective.

  684. There's a different direction, there's a different way of doing

  685. things and we grew up, we're always war against our

  686. childhood. Come on, somebody we grew up

  687. saying these things or this kind of add to this certain way and

  688. and Jesus has a different way of doing it.

  689. He does unorthodox things. Just think about all the things

  690. just just ran things that Jesus didn't take long to look at the

  691. miracles of God. Think about Moses and Jesus.

  692. God speaks through what a burning Bush that's weird.

  693. Can you imagine going to talk to your friends A burning Bush told

  694. me I'm just play these scenarios that it makes no sense.

  695. You think about Abraham and Sarah.

  696. I mean she's passed the years to bear a child and then she have a

  697. son who's going to be to be at the beginning of a great nation

  698. and had the faith that God could even do this and God does this

  699. miracle Amen. You think about marching around

  700. the city of Jericho just March around 7 times or screaming

  701. walls going to come down. Is that weird?

  702. I mean, would you follow me if I told you to walk around a

  703. building 7 times and you yell and it's going to you'd be like,

  704. what a crazy fool, right? You, you think of giddy and you

  705. think of a, you think of this army of a 30,000 people and then

  706. God says, no, it's too many, too many.

  707. You're going to get the glory. You're going to be too prideful.

  708. Hey, take, go down the river, have them lap those who don't

  709. take those guys whittle down to 300 men.

  710. And then I'm going to do something great.

  711. We're going to get clay jars and then we're going to break them.

  712. It's going to be crazy. And then we're going to have the

  713. torches. We like, people are going to

  714. freak out. Trumpets are going to blow.

  715. We're going to win the battle. Is that crazy?

  716. That is so unorthodox. Like we would never think to win

  717. the battle this way. And there's so many times in the

  718. Old Testament, there's one that sticks out.

  719. This guy's the guy's name is Nam.

  720. Have you heard of Nam before? Got him Nam.

  721. And God tells them he's actually a commander of a foreign army.

  722. He doesn't know Jesus. He has no faith in and God, the

  723. God of the Israelites. But he hears about this, this

  724. man that he can heal. His name is Elijah.

  725. And so he goes to Elijah and he wants to be healed of his

  726. leprosy. And Elijah tells him to do

  727. something. He says go down to the the river

  728. Jordan, the murky nasty waters of the Jordan and go dip

  729. yourself 7 times and the story picks up and I'll read some of

  730. it for you. This is second Kings 511 but

  731. Naem went away. What's it say?

  732. Angry. He was so mad.

  733. This is not the way you should do it, he said.

  734. I thought he would surely come out to me and stand some by

  735. Elijah and call the name of the Lord his God, and look at this

  736. and wave his hand over me over the spot of leprosy and cure me

  737. of my leprosy. They have thought that God

  738. should do a different way. They have had a specific

  739. particular plan for God to heal his life.

  740. He thought there should be a magic wand.

  741. Come on, somebody. And somebody would wave it and

  742. he'd be healed. How many?

  743. How many would be? How many think it'd be great if

  744. Jesus had a magic wand? Amen.

  745. Come on, show of hands. How many think it'd be great if

  746. Jesus had a magic wand? Right?

  747. How many know that Jesus does have a magic wand?

  748. How many guys know that Jesus does exactly what he wants to

  749. do? Amen.

  750. Like he can heal you, he can do this immediately.

  751. He could the one word of God everything can change.

  752. He is in control Amen. The the the question is, is can

  753. he do it doesn't match one. Are we willing to be obedient

  754. even if he doesn't? We don't like the way he heals.

  755. We don't like the timing of when he heals.

  756. We want to happen now. Names like can't you just heal

  757. my hand now? He is no go wash 7 times.

  758. Look at the next verse. He still complaints, says aren't

  759. Abana and power for the rivers of Damascus?

  760. Look at this, better than all the waters of Israel.

  761. Like why can't I go to these rivers?

  762. They're way better than that. Maybe they're even closer.

  763. Why have to go past these other rivers to go to that murky

  764. water? Can't I washing them to be

  765. cleansed? And so he turned around and he

  766. went off and what? Yeah, he went for rage.

  767. He was mad that God didn't do it his way.

  768. If we're real honest, we can relate to Nahum.

  769. Amen. We can, we can relate to this

  770. story like, I want it now. I want it my way.

  771. That's too uncomfortable. And honestly, he thought it was

  772. too cheap. He, he, he thought that God

  773. should do some greater thing or do it instantly.

  774. The rest of the story, it's not going on the screen.

  775. But one of Nahum's, like, chief advisors goes up to him and

  776. says, if God would have asked you to do something great, like,

  777. I don't know what, that might be the situation, maybe climb Mount

  778. Everest, like do some amazing thing, would you have done it

  779. and been healed? Well, yeah, He replies,

  780. absolutely. Then why don't you do something

  781. foolish? Would that make more sense, just

  782. to do something easy? And so he actually went to the

  783. Jordan River and dipped himself 7 times and was healed.

  784. Amen. It was just a simple obedience.

  785. And here's the point. God will use ordinary, messy,

  786. undesirable things to do miracles.

  787. Amen. He'll do the everyday thing, the

  788. nasty, murky part of the Jordan. He'll do an amazing miracle in

  789. your life. And we want to look out and say,

  790. I want to see this amazing thing of God's voices speak to me and

  791. I get this tablet, but it's going to happen inside your

  792. family is going to happen in just simple obedience.

  793. You're going to see this in a story later.

  794. It's just God could use anything to bring a miracle.

  795. And often God will stack the deck against himself so only he

  796. can get the glory. Like, who else could get the

  797. glory by dipping the Jordan River?

  798. I mean, did you really get healed in a nasty water?

  799. I mean, the God heal you at the Lake of the Ozarks.

  800. You know, it's better if you're upstream.

  801. You know, we won't go there. I have a lake house down there,

  802. so I know, I guess. But yeah.

  803. Yeah. E coli.

  804. That was the word, right? But the God can use these

  805. waters. Only God can get the glory.

  806. Amen. If God can use these waters,

  807. only God can get the glory. He wanted something where he

  808. could do something. He wanted to just praise

  809. himself. But God use uses even us to get

  810. the glory. Think about how God stacks the

  811. deck by you even using US First Corinthians 126 as this.

  812. Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were

  813. called not many. You were wise by human

  814. standards. I mean, Paul just calls us out.

  815. He's not going to say we're dumb, but he didn't say we're

  816. smart. You know, he says not many were

  817. influential. Not many were noble at birth,

  818. but God chose the foolish things, the world to shame the

  819. wise, and God chose the weak things, the world to shame the

  820. strong. God will use it unorthodox

  821. things, including us. Amen.

  822. That he will even use us. You know, sometimes we get the

  823. honor and privilege of being used by God, that God would even

  824. use us to see someone else's life changed.

  825. And we actually had this happen last week.

  826. I mean, we see it all the time. But this is also a story from

  827. last week. We shared in a huddle.

  828. Dine did a good job chasing this down.

  829. There is a custodian here. If you met her name is Carol.

  830. I don't know if is Carol in the space right here?

  831. I can't. There's Carol.

  832. Everybody say hi, Carol. So Carol's going to be

  833. embarrassed a little bit, but it's going to be good.

  834. So she's going to run hide, but it's awesome.

  835. Yeah. So Carol has been setting up.

  836. She's our custodian. I don't know.

  837. This is probably 4-4 to six months, something like that.

  838. And sorry, I didn't see if you're like not doing this

  839. because it'd be weird, but I can't see her from the lights.

  840. But she's been setting up and tearing down.

  841. And last week we talked about being in the same, same roof,

  842. under the same roof, but not the same room.

  843. And she has been setting up and, and all these things like

  844. Martha, right? And so Frank and Kathy, who's

  845. sitting next to them, Kathy said, Hey, Kurt, why don't you

  846. come on in once you see what God's up to?

  847. And there's, you know, with the custodians, it's interesting

  848. with the school district because they necessarily don't

  849. necessarily come in and watch church, but they should, Amen.

  850. You can do that, right? And so she came in for the first

  851. time last week. And guess what happened to Carl?

  852. She started a relationship with Jesus, Amen.

  853. So give it up for Carol, give it up for God.

  854. Unorthodox ways. God, God put us here and she's

  855. the custodian and God works away.

  856. And then somebody says, you know, there's a lady right

  857. outside these doors that comes every week that should hear this

  858. and just invites her in. She comes to Christ, Amen.

  859. It's just the simplicity of an invite.

  860. It's supposed to be seeing souls and just why?

  861. Why does God bring us to the school?

  862. Maybe it's for Carol, Amen. You have no idea what God is

  863. going to do, but unorthodox ways and he uses us.

  864. I bet, Kathy, you're like one plan on going to use my life

  865. this way. But God did, Amen.

  866. Least likely, but God chooses to use us, Amen.

  867. And so muscle confusion, unorthodox ways.

  868. Last thing is this. You'll know more later.

  869. Somebody say you'll know more later.

  870. Yeah, who knows? Hindsight's 2020, Amen.

  871. Like when you look back, you'll see the fingerprints of God.

  872. When you look back, you'll see how God's move.

  873. You'll know why later on. We talked about this in John

  874. 1216. It says that first disciples did

  875. not understand all this. They didn't understand what was

  876. going on. And that's often times where

  877. we're at. We like the disciples.

  878. These guys have walked with Jesus for almost, both over

  879. almost 3 1/2 years and they still were a little confused on

  880. what God's doing. And if we're real honest, we're

  881. going to be seizing this confusion all the way through

  882. our life until we pass away. There's just going to be

  883. confusion. But you get OK with not knowing,

  884. Amen. You get OK with going.

  885. You know, Lord, I don't have to know the answer because I trust

  886. You because you're faithful. You never change.

  887. But I don't have a clue what's even happening right now.

  888. But I trust your plan. You're the author and you have a

  889. master plan that I trust. But they understood what the

  890. triumphal intro is about. When Jesus was glorified, they

  891. didn't realize those things have been written about him and

  892. things have been done to him. They they figured it out when

  893. Jesus death, burial, resurrection, sighting, what

  894. Jesus was really talking about who he really was as a king and

  895. really, really was the Messiah. And here's the principle.

  896. Obedience now, revelation later, obedience now, revelation later.

  897. Are you OK with obedience without revelation?

  898. Are you OK with falling God, with not knowing why?

  899. You know, think about the original call from Abraham.

  900. Abraham, who was Abraham then? Abraham.

  901. But he was called to leave the early counties to go to a land

  902. they didn't know. He, he, he left without knowing

  903. the destination. That's faith, Amen.

  904. That's faith. It's faith when you step out for

  905. God, but you don't know how it's going to work out, Amen.

  906. That's faith. It doesn't take any faith to if

  907. you know how it's going to go. They didn't take any faith to

  908. have it planned out and say, look, I ran my plan.

  909. I ran the play Whoo faith. That's not faith.

  910. Faith is stepping out without having the end written yet.

  911. Faith is saying God, here's the contract to my life and here's

  912. the pen. I signed the bond already and

  913. you can write the terms of the agreement.

  914. You can tell me where to go, what's next and what what to

  915. give, where to serve, how to live my life, what to say, who

  916. to marry. You can be in charge of

  917. everything in my life. Jesus, Amen.

  918. And there's freedom that we can trust Jesus for that because

  919. he's a good God. It says in Proverbs 3, five and

  920. six, it says trust the Lord with what?

  921. What's it say? Yeah, all your heart, not 99%,

  922. not the comfortable pieces, but every piece of your life you

  923. trust the Lord says lean not on your own understanding.

  924. That means don't trust your master plan.

  925. I memorized this verse on the way to Bible college and the

  926. reason I memorized it because I gave a full ride scholarship to

  927. Baylor University and I was trusting the Lord with all my

  928. heart and leaning not on my understanding because my

  929. understanding is going to take me a totally different

  930. direction. Amen.

  931. That was the moment of big faith.

  932. Like, I don't know how it's going to work out.

  933. I've never even seen this college before.

  934. Like I'm driving into an unknown place with unknown people and

  935. let me tell you something, it wasn't as cool as Baylor.

  936. I'm going to be real. The Baylor's parking garage was

  937. cooler than my whole school. I'm just telling you, it was

  938. gold plated. It was awesome, but I was where

  939. God wanted me to be. Amen.

  940. I was in his plan and his will and that is the safest, greatest

  941. place you could ever be. I think he's a Christian.

  942. The most miserable place to be in life is to be outside.

  943. The center of God's will is miserable.

  944. The only way to get in the center of God's will is a lean,

  945. not understanding and always submit to Him and He will make

  946. your paths straight. You have to hand God the keys.

  947. You have to hand God the pen. You have to say in the middle of

  948. confusion, the cast. It's not my story.

  949. It's not my story. I am just a soundtrack.

  950. I'm a servant. I'm the background music.

  951. I'm a person putting down a palm leaf, a person putting out a

  952. piece of cloth. This story is not about me.

  953. It's all about you, Jesus. Let me give you a story that

  954. kind of wraps this all together. It's found the Bible.

  955. It's found Luke 22. There's a picture of muscular

  956. confusion, unorthodox ways. If you're not listening

  957. carefully, reading this carefully, you're going to miss

  958. the confusion. So I want you to lean and I want

  959. to see if you can find the confusion in the scripture.

  960. Luke 22/7 says this. Then came the Day of Unleavened

  961. Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed.

  962. Jesus sent Peter and John saying, go and make preparations

  963. for us to eat the Passover. This is the question, where do

  964. you want us to prepare it? They ask.

  965. And he replied, As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of

  966. water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he

  967. enters and say to the owner of the house.

  968. The teacher asked, where is the guest room?

  969. Where may I eat the Passover by disciples?

  970. And it will show you a large room upstairs, all furnished.

  971. Make preparations there. Did you guys see it?

  972. Do you guys see the confusion in the story?

  973. It's so subtle, you miss it. You just read right over it.

  974. You have no idea what God is doing in this story.

  975. The confusion has taken place to get to the place.

  976. The confusion part of the story is the man carrying a jar.

  977. Men didn't carry jars in that culture.

  978. That was a woman's role. She would carry the water jar.

  979. It was how in the world would the disciples have known to

  980. follow a man carrying a jar if every man carried a jar?

  981. Amen. Think about this, the location

  982. of the Last Supper to a set in place because the obedience of a

  983. man to break their own culture and do things differently than

  984. everybody else, to be made fun of, to stand out, to look weird

  985. and different and live in confusion.

  986. I don't know why God's called me, but I'm going to serve and

  987. I'm going to carry this jar that most men would never carry.

  988. And when disciples get into town, what happens?

  989. Oh, follow the man, carry the jar.

  990. He's going to lead you there. So the location of the Last

  991. Supper actually is set by a man that was simply obedient to

  992. Jesus. Amen.

  993. This wasn't this wasn't like whoa, mind blowing crazy, but it

  994. was simple, wasn't it? How many guys can carry a jar,

  995. right? And God's calling you to do

  996. something weird, unorthodox. Why in the world, God, would you

  997. have me do this? Why like all that you can

  998. imagine, like if you're carrying a jar and a culture didn't carry

  999. a jar, how many all get made fun of?

1000. How many how many your friends you make fun of you to do

1001. something that's weird and different that they would never

1002. do. I know all you blue collar guys

1003. we made fun of immediately. Amen.

1004. They would just tear you down in pieces and he's like, well, I'm

1005. just being faithful to carry the jar because the Lord told me to

1006. carry this jar. The Lord told me to carry the

1007. jar. I don't know why he he had no

1008. idea that God was going to use him to pick the location of the

1009. Last Supper. He'd imagine being in heaven and

1010. for all of eternity. They read this scripture and you

1011. go, that was me. I was the man carrying the jar.

1012. Isn't that cool? Like that's what that's what was

1013. is put in for posterity's sake is the faith of people.

1014. Amen. Just to do something simple for

1015. God. You know, often times like God

1016. will do this great thing. I'll be this, I'll do that.

1017. And God just wants you to do something simple today.

1018. He just wants you to be faithful.

1019. What He's actually do next. Maybe that's the first time I

1020. picked up a jar. Maybe that's the hard time I

1021. picked the jar. I have no idea, but God used it.

  1022. Amen. It's confusion.

1023. It makes no sense. When's the last time that you

1024. did something that's confusing to your normal rhythm?

1025. But when's, when's the last time that you took a step of faith

1026. that made no sense? When's the last time you stepped

1027. out and you didn't know if God could do it because you can't

1028. plan out your own mind, but you trust it anyway, Amen?

1029. I mean, you talk about giving or serving, like when was the last

1030. time you gave you like, I don't know how it's going to work out.

1031. That's faith, Amen? Giving is an act of faith.

1032. Or you give up your time. Like I don't know how it's going

1033. to work, but I'm going to help. Like I'm going to give back.

1034. Like you spoke up and then people came to Christ, Amen.

1035. You come, I mean, simple invitation, come sit next to me.

1036. You know how God's going to use it, Amen?

1037. Some of us, we set up chairs and we tear down, we set up all

1038. these different things. We don't know what God's going

1039. to do. Know we're faithful doing, Amen.

1040. And so the invitation today is in the midst of confusion.

1041. Will you still obey? Will you still say yes, Lord?

1042. It takes no faith to walk away when it's hard.

1043. It takes no faith to have all the answers.

1044. It takes no faith. And Jesus wants you to build

1045. your life on him. He's the rock, Amen.

1046. He's a sure foundation. And when the storms come and the

1047. wind blows, your life is built on Jesus.

1048. It doesn't collapse. I've seen a lot of lives

1049. collapse around me that build a life on everything but Jesus.

1050. It's amazing that in my life I get the ability to take no

1051. credit and say the only reason my life is different, different

1052. is because it's built on a rock. Amen.

1053. It's built on a rock. And so Father, come before you

1054. got to ask for a church for those of us that have been

1055. trusting their own and master a plan that maybe there's people

1056. in the house today. So you know what, I need to give

1057. up my plan and I simply need to trust the Master today.

1058. Like I need just to be obedient with what he's asked me to do,

1059. even though it makes no sense. Maybe there's a specific thing

1060. that we've been holding off or a part of our heart that we're

1061. holding on to or we're controlling or upset.

1062. Like, damn God, I want it now and I want it my way.

  1063. We don't understand what's happening.

1064. We seem to be obedient to step into the murky water.

1065. And so today, if you just be so humble to say Jesus, you are the

1066. master and I'm no longer going to follow my plan.

1067. I'm following your master plan, the master master plan.

1068. If that's you, just raise your hand high this place and say

1069. that's me. God's called me to have less

1070. faith in myself and more faith in Jesus.

1071. The moment of vulnerability, openness, say God, I'll give you

1072. the contract to my life. You can hold all the keys.

1073. You can have the pin. I'm tired of writing my story.

1074. I need you to write my story. Jesus, it's a prayer of

1075. surrender. Not all of me, God, You can have

1076. I laid it all down your feet. God, use my life.

1077. And I don't have to know the answers.

1078. I don't have to have all of it now.

1079. Because one day I will. One day I'll know why I carried

1080. what I carried. One day I'll know why I walked

1081. through what I walked through. But today I'm not going to know.

1082. But one day I will, I'll pray for one more group of people in

1083. the house. That's those you say I need

1084. Jesus, like I've gone every direction but to God.

1085. I've trusted in every plan but God's plan.

1086. And what's God plan for your life?

1087. That you would surrender yourself and humble yourself and

1088. call the name of Jesus as Lord and Savior.

  1089. You'd say I'm a Sinner and need a Savior.

1090. I'm broken. I've built my life on myself and

1091. it's not worked out. Lord, I need you.

1092. The Bible says that today is the day of salvation that anybody

1093. calls the name of Lord be saved, forgiven and made new that Jesus

1094. is a good God and you can trust him to write your life.

1095. It's no longer about you writing your story.

1096. It's about God writing your story because he's the only one

1097. worthy to write your story. And so they if you need us to

1098. run your life to Jesus, you start a relationship with Jesus.

1099. If that's you, I'm not going to make it weird or call you out,

1100. but if that's you, just raise your hand.

1101. Hide this place. I need Jesus today and it's our

1102. relationship with Christ for the very first time.

1103. I'm going to humble myself and call on Jesus.

1104. I see your hands across the room.

  1105. If that's you, I'm a lead you through a prayer.

1106. The prayer does not save you, but your heart towards him is

1107. the humility in yourself to call on God.

1108. Just say this say follow God. Thank you so much for loving me

1109. enough to send Jesus and I was I was at my worst writing my own

1110. story. Follow my own plan.

1111. God, you had such a greater plan for me that your plan was to

1112. send your son Jesus to die on a cross for my sins and I trust

1113. what he did on that cross. God save me.

1114. God, you can have the pen to my life, you can write the story.

1115. I'm no longer in charge. God, I trust you.

1116. Thank you Jesus for saving me, and I praise in Jesus name,

1117. Amen. Give it up for God today.

1118. Come on people, come to Christ today.

  1119. Amen. Amen.

1120. Man, what an encouraging word this morning.

1121. Just to think that God can use the messy, the ordinary, the

1122. mundane, even the murky things in our life to do a miracle.

1123. And I love that challenge too, to look at my own life.

1124. And God, what act of obedience are you calling me to?

1125. That just seems to make absolutely no sense to me.

1126. God, what are you asking me to do?

1127. So what a word today. Thank you so much, Sean, for

1128. bringing that to us. Well, hey, I want to talk to

1129. those of you who accepted Jesus today.

1130. You recognize that He is for you, that he loves love you.

1131. You committed your life to him today.

1132. We are so excited for you. Congratulations.

1133. We would love to help you on your journey if you would just

1134. grab that connection card that's on your seat, fill out the

1135. information on that, but check that box that says I committed

1136. my life to Jesus. And you can drop it in the

1137. giving buckets here in just a few minutes.

1138. But we would love to come alongside you to get you a few

1139. things this week. And the first one is to drop a

1140. free book in the mail. It's called begin.

1141. It's a short read, about 100 pages, but we know that it will

1142. be a blessing to you on your journey with Jesus as you take

1143. those next steps. And if you were here at Kentucky

1144. Trail today and you prayed that prayer, you made that decision.

1145. As you leave the worship center, there's a table with some red

1146. bags inside those red bags. It's a free Bible just for you

1147. and a list of a few other resources.

1148. We would love to get that to you today as well.

1149. And hey, if you are newer in the house with us today, thank you

1150. so much for being here. You really are honored guests.

1151. We love that you chose to spend your morning with us.

1152. And hey, church is free. We don't want anything from you

1153. except for this. And that is just for you to

1154. introduce yourself to us. And you can do that by grabbing

1155. that same card. Fill out your information, check

1156. that box that says first time here.

1157. You can drop that at the new here booth as you leave, as you

1158. exit the worship center to your right, there's a booth there.

1159. You can turn that in there. We have a free gift.

1160. We would love to get to you and we would love just to see you

1161. back next time right here at 915-1045.

1162. Thanks again for checking us out for spending your morning right

1163. here with us and here. About a month ago, our missions

1164. team served on a trip over in Bogota, Colombia and South

1165. America and they saw God move in so many ways, but they had the

1166. most beautiful opportunity to help and to serve a ministry

1167. family in need there, Jose and Ingrid.

1168. They are a husband and wife couple that serve as ministry

1169. leaders in a church called Family Church up in in the

1170. mountains of Bogota. I'm Jose and Ingrid.

1171. They are refugees from Venezuela and they came to Colombia with

1172. just their son and the clothes on their back.

1173. So they essentially they live as undocumented foreigners in

1174. Colombia. And as you can imagine, that can

1175. make a life and things just difficult for them.

1176. In about a week before our team came, Jose's mom actually had

1177. passed away back home in Venezuela.

1178. And it was very difficult. They had no way to get back home

1179. to be with their family. And our team, upon hearing that

1180. story, when they arrived, immediately came together and

1181. gave $1500 of their own money to Jose and Ingrid to help them get

1182. back home. And what a blessing and

1183. opportunity that was for them to serve them in that way.

1184. And Jose and Ingrid were so touched and so moved, and they

1185. shot this video for us just to say thank you so much.

1186. So check this out. Gracias.

1187. How awesome and what a blessing it is to be a blessing.

1188. And Jesus said it is more blessed to give than to receive.

1189. And I guarantee our team will never forget that story and that

1190. opportunity, but not just because they gave of their

1191. money, but because they played a part in that story that they

1192. impacted lives for Jesus. I mean, we have the opportunity

1193. to do that each and every day. There's stories, there's faces

1194. just like Jose and Ingrid that we get to play a part of.

1195. And when you give here, when you're a blessing here, you play

1196. a part in that story of helping change people's lives and some

1197. miraculous and amazing ways. And so I want to encourage you,

1198. I want to invite you to be a blessing today.

1199. You can do that if you call real life church home.

1200. There are so many ways you can take part in that.

1201. You can check out our website, you can text to give, you can

1202. scan the QR, all sorts of ways. You can drop cash or check in

1203. the bucket as I pass here in just a few minutes.

1204. There's also a giving box in the back you can drop cash or check

1205. in if that's more convenient for you.

1206. And if you or your family find yourself in any kind of need,

  1207. whether it's food, it's clothing, it's shelter, would

1208. you please reach into those buckets as I pass here in just a

1209. few minutes? Grab out any loose cash that you

1210. see. We truly do want to be a

1211. blessing to you and your family and your time of need.

1212. Awesome. Hey, who would say by a show of

1213. hands that you really got something out of today, that God

1214. just working in your life and doing something in this place?

1215. Hey, man, I love seeing that. And my encouragement to you is

1216. just one quick thing. Will you just share that with

1217. somebody this week? Just tell someone in your life,

1218. you know, man, all that God's doing, all that he's the work

1219. he's been doing in you and just point him, point him to Jesus

1220. number one. And then just man, invite him to

1221. come along and hang out with us right here at Real Life Live

1222. Church. That'd be really cool, man.

1223. I'm excited for next week. And you should get excited too

1224. because we're going to get to hear the stories from this

1225. summer from our youth camp and our kids camp.

1226. And so God obviously moves here with us here in the worship

1227. center. And you know, we kind of think

1228. of, you know, how we experience God as adults, but don't lose

1229. sight of the fact that God and the Holy Spirit is working in

1230. the lives of our kids, our teens and our children.

1231. So some really cool things happened this summer at both of

1232. those events. And we're going to get to hear

1233. about that next week. So bring a friend, come back and

1234. just be ready to be blessed by next week.

1235. And if you need prayer this morning, we'll have people down

1236. here in front that would love to pray for you.

1237. So don't be bashful. Come on up and do that.

1238. And other than that, we'll see you next week at 9:15 or 10:45.

1239. Remember, whoever finds Jesus discovers real life and purpose.

1240. Have a great week. This is the end of this podcast.
