  1. Good morning, real life, and happy 8th birthday.

  2. Hey, we're so excited you are here with us today.

  3. Whether you're watching online or you're right here with us in

  4. person. Stand to your feet so we can

  5. worship and celebrate together. I was very beneath my shame.

  6. Who could carry that kind of a way?

  7. It was bad till I've made come on, put those things together.

  8. I was breathing but not a light on.

  9. My fear is I've tried to hide. It was bad till I may You called

  10. my day, and I ran out of that grave, out of the darkest tune

  11. on the as day you called my day I.

  12. The darkest to your glorious day that I know, Jesus, when I made

  13. you. The target you Call My Name out

  14. of the target to your Come on church.

  15. Are you grateful for him today? Give him a shout of praise this

  16. morning. Come on, let's sing this out.

  17. I needed rescue. My sin was here.

  18. The chains break out the way to you.

  19. I needed shelter. I was ignored.

  20. Now you called me the seers in again.

  21. When I was broken, you were my Your love is here.

  22. That I'm breathing. I have a future.

  23. My eyes are closing. Because when you Call My Name.

  24. Shut up. I ran out of that grave, out of

  25. the darkness. Out of the

  26. target to your Louise day. Let's go.

  27. Amen, Amen. Praise this morning.

  28. He was a good guy. Amen.

  29. Awesome day we're going to have today.

  30. I want to introduce a new song to you called Awake My Soul, and

  31. it comes right out of Psalm 57. And it's an invitation for the

  32. worshippers to arise, an invitation to rise up and say,

  33. God, you are good and we praise your faithfulness.

  34. So lean in, sing along. Let's lift him up.

  35. There is a sound I love to hear. It's the sound of the Saviour's

  36. robe as he walks into the room where people pray, where we hear

  37. praises he hears. There is a sound I love to.

  38. Hear you. It's the sound.

  39. Of a savior's robe as he walks into the room where people pray,

  40. where we hear worship. Wake my soul and sing.

  41. Sing his praise out loud. Sing his praise out loud.

  42. Oh, wake my soul and sing. Sing his praise out loud.

  43. Sing his praise out loud. 'Cause there is a sound.

  44. That changes things. The sound of those people love

  45. their beats away. God gives longer rain.

  46. It's time to worship him away the my soul, and sing, sing his

  47. rain. And when we pray, Mr. The world

  48. now stands away wherever we promises.

  49. Amen. Then when he moves, you make no

  50. mistake, move bounds of hell. He gets to shame.

  51. I'll hail him alone. I'll hail him.

  52. Hi. Hi.

  53. And sing. Sing is praise loud.

  54. Sing is praise loud. Can you believe it's eight

  55. years? Come on, somebody get loud in

  56. here. There's some awesome worship.

  57. Eight years. It's unbelievable.

  58. God's been faithful. Amen, Janet, where's Janet at?

  59. Do shoes get into this morning? Amen.

  60. That was amazing. But God is good and we can

  61. celebrate today. And one of the most fitting ways

  62. you possibly celebrate a birthday with baptism to

  63. celebrate life change, transformation, what God's done.

  64. Before we do that though, we guys give a big hand to

  65. everybody's new day. Everybody came to support these

  66. guys getting baptized. Let them know you love them.

  67. Come on. Well, you guys can be seated and

  68. share with you just a little bit what baptism is all about.

  69. And it's really unique because it's really Jesus commands us to

  70. get baptized, to go therefore make disciples baptized to them.

  71. It's the first step of obedience and it's a picture of what Jesus

  72. has done in our lives. Now you may think baptism was

  73. just established by Jesus, but actually John the Baptist

  74. baptized in the Old Testament. There was baptism with the

  75. temple and it was a picture of purity when they got baptized.

  76. And so it's pretty amazing to me when these people get baptized,

  77. their baptism is representing their their permanent purity in

  78. Christ. To get baptized.

  79. Once we know Jesus is a picture of what Jesus did on the cross,

  80. they dive across for our sins, paying the permanent, full,

  81. perfect sacrifice of our sin. The Bible said that one man sins

  82. in the world and death through sin, but by one man maybe became

  83. righteous. His name is Jesus, Amen, Amen.

  84. And so God gives his righteousness in this picture,

  85. in this tub. There's no salvation in this

  86. tub, but it's obedience and saying I love Jesus.

  87. I'm going to shame what he's done in my life.

  88. I want to live for him. I'm proud of relationship with

  89. him. I want you to know that so many

  90. of you today were coming and you may not even know Jesus.

  91. You may think, man, this is just weird, but I'm here for my

  92. family and I want to encourage you.

  93. There's something way deeper than you can understand at this

  94. moment. There's something spiritual

  95. happening and maybe guys are going to call you today to step

  96. out in faith. Maybe you realize from the

  97. stories you're going to share that you need Jesus.

  98. You may recognize that you need to get baptized.

  99. And I'm just telling you, there's something so special,

  100. significant. You hear their stories.

  101. Each story is so special. It's going to be so encouraging.

  102. So once you lean in and they're going to baptize, I want you

  103. guys to do something incredible. I want you guys to shout like

  104. all the angels of heaven just went erupted for these guys come

  105. out and they came up, man, can you just give me a big real

  106. life? We love you.

  107. A big shout of praise. Amen.

  108. All right, do right now. Let them know you love warm up.

  109. Come on, we're get started. All right, well, I have the

  110. honor to read stories and information that they have

  111. shared with us prior to being baptized.

  112. So each person getting baptized sends in information for us to

  113. share in this moment. And so lean in.

  114. It's going to be just a really special morning with these

  115. stories. So first we have Melissa Colbert

  116. and Aiden Nichols. Yeah, give them a round of

  117. applause. So Melissa shared with us, I

  118. have always believed in Jesus and this past year has been a

  119. struggle for my family and for my country.

  120. And by praying, I have seen my life been getting better.

  121. My son has been my support system and guided me into

  122. learning more about Bible verses and what they mean and I

  123. couldn't be more proud of him. And so today I want everyone to

  124. know that I believe Jesus is my Lord and Savior and that he

  125. saved me and set me free. We ask, why do you want to get

  126. baptized? She says I'm ready to show other

  127. people that I let Jesus in my life and I'm ready to follow him

  128. to learn more about the Bible and become a better Christ

  129. follower. And who is someone who had a

  130. special impact on your Christian walk you'd like to thank?

  131. She said my son Aiden has been a very had a very big impact on me

  132. and seeing him help other kids his age get through hard times

  133. has been really an inspiration. Aiden shares.

  134. I was struggling with my mental health and I started reading the

  135. Bible more to better understand how to manage different

  136. situations in my life that led me to help others in need to

  137. going through the same struggles that I was.

  138. And so through that, I came to know and believe that Jesus died

  139. for me and that He's my Lord and Savior.

  140. I want to get baptized today because I think it'll help my

  141. relationship with Jesus, my beliefs, and help me to be more

  142. committed and following Him. Aiden shared that he had a

  143. friend from school who told him about the Bible and encouraged

  144. him to have faith in Jesus. What a powerful story of the

  145. power of a teenager sharing with Christ with another team.

  146. To see a family, come to know Jesus and get baptized, it's

  147. awesome. Let's give it up for.

  148. Melissa and Aiden. Awesome.

  149. Next we have Finley Odell and she is being joined in the

  150. baptistery by her mom and dad, Lucas and Diana Odell.

  151. Finley shared with us that the church helped me start my

  152. relationship with Jesus and I am learning to get better at loving

  153. him. She said When?

  154. Why do you want to get baptized? Finley said.

  155. I want to show everyone that I love Jesus and she said who is

  156. someone who had a special impact on your Christian walk that

  157. you'd like to thank? And Finley said Miss Christie

  158. has had an impact on her knowing and following Jesus.

  159. It was actually this time last year that Lucas was baptized and

  160. he's also seen his older daughter Luciana, who goes to

  161. real life youth, be baptized. So it's really special for them

  162. to see their family following and loving Jesus together.

  163. All right, next we have Hannah Blanton and she is being joined

  164. by Tanya Taylor. Hannah shared.

  165. I grew up in church, but I never felt like the perfect Christian.

  166. I often didn't measure up and eventually church hurt pushed me

  167. to turn away from religion altogether.

  168. When I got married, my husband and I struggled with infertility

  169. and it was the hardest season of our life.

  170. I became angry with God for placing such a deep desire in my

  171. heart to be a mother, yet not answering that each failed

  172. attempt to make my heart heavier.

  173. Until one day I broke. I found myself on the bathroom

  174. floor on my hands and knees crying out to God.

  175. In that moment I laid everything before him and I promised if He

  176. fulfilled his promise and gave us a child, I would recommit my

  177. life to him and raise that child in the church.

  178. Not long after, God answered my prayer and He gave us Owen and

  179. that was a turning point. And so as a family, we began

  180. searching for a church home. We visited real life.

  181. And before I went on Sunday, I prayed and asked God if this is

  182. the church where we're meant to grow in our faith and raise our

  183. family. Let one person introduce

  184. themselves to us today. And that morning, not one, but

  185. 12 different people came up and introduced themselves to us.

  186. And I knew God had answered me again, confirming that real life

  187. was the place He was leading us. And since then, I've recommitted

  188. my life. I've learned God isn't looking

  189. for perfect Christians, which is hearts that are willing to meet

  190. Him where they are. And I want to be baptized today

  191. because it's a symbol of my new life in Christ, an act of

  192. obedience, saying yes to Jesus and following him.

  193. Hannah shared that her parents had a huge impact on her life

  194. for raising her in church, giving her a solid foundation,

  195. her husband so supportive and walking in faith, and her friend

  196. Tanya for showing her that God can meet her there in the

  197. valley. Hey, let's give it up for

  198. everyone who has gotten baptized today and all the people who

  199. have helped them walk towards that moment.

  200. Give him a big, big shout. There we go.

  201. There we go. Go ahead and stand to your feet.

  202. We're going to continue to worship Him this morning.

  203. We've seen His faithfulness, we've witnessed His goodness

  204. this morning, and we're going to give Him all our praise

  205. together. Is lost and all alone.

  206. Your presence was where I found home.

  207. You were there and you're here right now.

  208. In every heart and every love. You never left me with our hope.

  209. You were good and you're good right now.

  210. Thank you that witness your faithfulness.

  211. I've seen you real life with it. So poor my praise.

  212. Your promises never fail. I've got stories I live to tell.

  213. So poor all my crazy king, the world thee got truly up all over

  214. thee, He of the throne, and chose the cross lay down our

  215. light to rescue us. The Savior there and the Savior

  216. now. But even this might be it.

  217. You call the hell. So I could be resurrecting that

  218. resurrecting now, resurrecting that, resurrecting now.

  219. Not when it should Faithfulness see you breathe Lifeway bed.

  220. So I pour out my praise and grace, Your lady, that you're

  221. worthy of all the day. Your promises never fail.

  222. I've got stories I live to tell. So I pour out my praise with and

  223. your lady that you're worthy of all the day.

  224. Yes, you're worthy. Yeah,

  225. you're good. And I've witnessed.

  226. You're strong enough. Witnessed.

  227. You're constant. I've witnessed and I'm

  228. comforted. I'll see it again and again.

  229. You loving, I've witnessed it. You healing, I've witnessed it.

  230. You saving, I've witnessed it and I'm comforted.

  231. I'll see it again and again. You're good and I've witnessed

  232. it. You're strong in our witness

  233. day. You're constant.

  234. I've witnessed you and I'm proper.

  235. It is. I see it again and you know

  236. that. I've witnessed day.

  237. You heal it. I've witnessed day.

  238. You save it. I've witnessed day and I'm

  239. tumbled. I've seen it more.

  240. I've seen you be like when they so I pour out my praise with me

  241. because you're worthy that you're worthy of already, but

  242. your promise is never fair. I've got stories I live to tell,

  243. so I pour out my praise. You praise you be maturity of

  244. all the to the broken I'd witness, to the hurting I'd

  245. witnessed, To the lost I will witnessed.

  246. And I'll tell them. I'll tell them what I'm willing

  247. to my family of Wednesday, to my city of Wednesday, to the

  248. nations of Wednesday, and I'll tell them that.

  249. I'll tell them what I'm ready. Here's the turn, Roger.

  250. Worthy. I've witnessed.

  251. I've witnessed your faithfulness.

  252. I've seen you breathe life with it.

  253. So I pour out my praise again, 'cause you're worthy.

  254. Got you worthy of all of it. And your promise is never fair.

  255. I've got stories I live to tell. So I'll pour out my praise

  256. again, 'cause you're worthy, God.

  257. You're worthy of all of it. Man, what a way to kick off an

  258. 8th birthday, man. Give it up for God, man.

  259. God makes a way, man, Can we take this opportunity?

  260. Can we just give it up? For those that got baptized

  261. again, Let's celebrate. Man.

  262. Love watching people take that next step of faith.

  263. Man, it is an honor and a privilege just to be in that

  264. same tank with those guys and just really we're in concert in

  265. worship and just honoring and just watching these people take

  266. that next step. And we're supporting community.

  267. That's who we are here in real life.

  268. So man, we are so excited that you guys chose to worship with

  269. us. I want you guys to know we have

  270. some awesome people that are new with us that are in person and

  271. online. Can we show those guys some love

  272. as well? Give it up for him.

  273. Yeah. There we go.

  274. All right. Hey, take 30 seconds and just

  275. greet somebody around you. All right, you guys can go ahead

  276. and find a seat. I want you guys to know that you

  277. have something awesome on your seat that you're getting ready

  278. to sit on right now. And that's our connection card

  279. here, real life and our connection card is this is for

  280. everybody. If you call real life home, we

  281. remind you guys week in and week out, we love it when you feel

  282. these out. Let us know what's going on in

  283. your life. Maybe man, God showed up and

  284. you've just got a huge, huge, huge praise God.

  285. You know, you've been praying something for forever and God

  286. showed up and answer that prayer or maybe you have a prayer

  287. request. And when you we write these

  288. down, our team reads these week in and week out.

  289. We want to stay connected to you know what's going on.

  290. So if you go real life home, we love it when you fill these out.

  291. If you are new or newer with us, I'm going to make you once easy

  292. promise. We're not going to ask anything

  293. from you today except for one small thing.

  294. We would love for you just to introduce yourself to us.

  295. We want to know who you are and the connection card's the best

  296. way that you can do that. And so if you mark that you're

  297. new or newer and you fill that out to the level that you're

  298. comfortable with, nobody's going to show up your door.

  299. Nothing crazy like that, but we just want to be able to send you

  300. out some information this week about who we are at real life,

  301. why we do what we do, and how maybe you can connect with what

  302. God's got for you in your life. And really, that's why we exist.

  303. And we like to say that we're a church on a mission.

  304. And that mission is to see people far from God discover

  305. their real life and purpose in Jesus.

  306. And all that simply means is this is that we know that week

  307. in and week out, people's lives get wrecked.

  308. You know, their sickness, they lose a job, they lose a

  309. relationship and when they when they walk out of the

  310. circumstances, they don't know what to do because they don't

  311. have that hope. They don't have that meaning.

  312. But really God's the only one that gives that to us.

  313. And the awesome privilege about being a real life week in and

  314. week out is we get to see people commit their lives to Christ and

  315. their lives are radically transformed and changed.

  316. So we pray that you're on mission with us this week and

  317. just come join us in that community.

  318. So today again, we are celebrating big.

  319. We are looking back to what God has done over the last eight

  320. years and this is going to be awesome for you guys.

  321. This is such an encouragement to seek God's faithfulness.

  322. We're not a Church of the status quo.

  323. We're a church that is living in faith.

  324. And so we're going to lean into what Pastor Sean has as we look

  325. forward to the next step of real life and just celebrate what

  326. God's done. So can we give Pastor Sean some

  327. love and a big Earth 8th birthday party?

  328. Welcome to Pastor. It's been 8 years, I haven't

  329. done it yet, but today's the day you stay after man.

  330. Well, can you give it up for Jesus one more time?

  331. Let us know we love him. Come on, 8 years.

  332. Oh man, all of the memories today, we're going to just kind

  333. of go in a memory lane for a little bit, share our story.

  334. I think it's important to hear where we came from and then some

  335. stories of what God has done recently in our church and I'm

  336. inviting some different people up from our team and just share

  337. some stories. It's been a big day of

  338. encouragement and cast a little bit of vision.

  339. I probably won't have much time, so I'm just going to run through

  340. some stuff at the end I'm sure, but it's going to be good.

  341. Amen. So today just kind of like

  342. memory lane a little bit. So I'm trying obviously we start

  343. with Jesus, but for me personally, when did the church

  344. birth in our hearts? And I'll tell you it's probably

  345. 2013 Columbia Bogota. We're on a missions trip and I

  346. saw for the first time in my life a life giving church.

  347. Now I had no idea what that meant.

  348. There was just something special about this church that they

  349. empower the next generation. They preached people's best.

  350. They loved on people deeply. It wasn't this controlled thing.

  351. I'm like, send this missionary. I'm like, hey, you need send a

  352. mission team back to my church. Like literally send the team

  353. back to my church and give us what you got here because it's

  354. amazing. And I didn't know all the

  355. details it looked like, but I knew I had to have it.

  356. And I changed my philosophy ministry, changed how I LED a

  357. change the rule of the mission of why we have church which

  358. which is back to Jesus. Amen.

  359. To reach people far from God and we begin to reach people.

  360. Our youth ministry. It was amazing.

  361. I mean, you saw thousands of first time, I guess hundreds of

  362. people coming to Christ. It was awesome.

  363. And I kept telling Diane it's like, man, we need something

  364. like this for adults like being a life giving church for adults

  365. and God through a lot of circumstances really opened the

  366. door for us. We're in between ministry going

  367. what should we do in 2015 and Diane's boss, she's at Children

  368. Mercy Hospital. Her boss has God put this moment

  369. together is a lady that is the pastor's wife at Crosspointe

  370. Church in Lenexa, KS. And she said even her this group

  371. called the Ark which is association related churches.

  372. I have never heard of them and they had meet up that week,

  373. which is a miracle because they meet every five years.

  374. Amen. Just saying it was a miracle of

  375. God. Jack stack freight house and

  376. just met this group of life giving people.

  377. And so I took Barry down to an ARC training at New Life Church

  378. in Arkansas. And there's a picture and you

  379. can tell there's two dudes that took this picture because we're

  380. not in the picture. Come on, somebody.

  381. This is the beginning, baby, The picture of a map.

  382. That's what we need to start this thing out, you know, And

  383. you know, we're not gonna be like selfie or can you take a

  384. picture of us? That's kind of, you know, it's

  385. just how it went. And we went down there.

  386. And I'll tell you, if you want to see a grown man cry that's

  387. buried by the way you see grandma cry, Take him out of an

  388. unhealthy church and bring him into a healthy church.

  389. It's healthy seed and healthy soil.

  390. And I remember having a conversation with Bury just

  391. sitting on that very first day. And it's like, I didn't know

  392. church could be like this. I didn't know it could be on a

  393. mission like this. We forgot that the father

  394. standing, staring down the road for the prodigal to come home.

  395. That wasn't the type of church that like I grew up in and came

  396. out of. And so for us, it was just this

  397. life giving culture. So we got connected to the ark

  398. and it was just an amazing godsend.

  399. And from that we started interest socials.

  400. We started gathering just interest in our community,

  401. telling people how we're going to launch it.

  402. And this was going to be like, and we started in January 2017.

  403. We started at the place called the Den inside Aaron's Family

  404. Fun Center, right? And This Is Us.

  405. We were so young. Come on, somebody, right?

  406. We're in the bowling lanes. The best part of this story is

  407. we had a lot of people show up. It was amazing.

  408. But the bartender came. Come on somebody and we're like

  409. what kind of church are we going to be?

  410. It was like day one and we tipped her out like hey stay,

  411. she helped us out. But looking back, I literally we

  412. should like open that bar up because there's some people that

  413. are going to leave anyway. So let it go.

  414. Amen. Some of y'all like dude, I don't

  415. know about this preacher. Just saying man, it would have

  416. saved us some headaches. But anyway, it was amazing.

  417. This is in January, very beginning.

  418. This next picture, this is Memorial Park.

  419. Been inflatable. This is behind Raymill

  420. Elementary, just out in the middle.

  421. A team is gathering. I don't think there's in a

  422. chronological order, but yeah, we're sharing the vision of our

  423. church. Next picture, you recognize

  424. these guys On the left, that's Rob Hallford's house.

  425. And on the far, you're far. That's Josh Covely.

  426. They'll be laughing at Josh. All right?

  427. He's not Asian at all. You got Tommy.

  428. You got no amazing. Diane, Come on, somebody

  429. spiritual fox. Holy hottie.

  430. Come on. Looks the same fine wine.

  431. You know what I'm saying? That belt high blue.

  432. I believe that's Belt high blue. Next picture.

  433. Dude, Scott and Dana Jermaine's house open their house up.

  434. Is this the one you guys went to?

  435. Is this the this the first one? And I don't know.

  436. So. So Drew and Holly result.

  437. And if you don't Holly, step here, sing a little bit, then

  438. the result. And he drew on keys of one of

  439. these intraducals. And I know Drew showed up and he

  440. was wearing his must not be this one.

  441. His Macho Man Randy Savage wrestling shirt.

  442. Come on, somebody come on. Yeah, Step into a slim.

  443. Jim Oh, yeah. And so I walked up to him.

  444. It was that same comment. Maybe we're just kicking off.

  445. He's like, dude, these are my people, man.

  446. These are my people and Holly's embarrassed.

  447. Like don't burn that out to this thing.

  448. You know, He's like, if they respect this, they get this,

  449. they get me, you know? So he's been here ever since.

  450. Amen. Amazing to have that tattooed on

  451. my chest right now. Anyway, so next slide.

  452. This is perfect. All right, so then we went to

  453. our launch phase. They were like, hey, we got to

  454. get this thing off the ground. God open the door to meet here

  455. at KT God has blessed this place, got his use this place.

  456. I sat across from one of the vice superintendents of the

  457. school district and old Barry walked in.

  458. He said, that guy's with you, I'm all for you.

  459. He used to the flower work for the city, for the for all the

  460. parks and all these things. And he put a neighbor number

  461. across the table and said, Hey, will this work for you?

  462. And it has worked for us ever since.

  463. It's been a God size number for us just to say yes.

  464. And so we thanked the Belton School District for all the

  465. effort and energy. I mean, they really, truly have

  466. opened this place for us and been here.

  467. We were the first church and only only church so far to ever

  468. meet in the school district. And our goal is that when we

  469. leave the next guy, they're like, Oh yeah, definitely come

  470. in. Amen.

  471. Like, we'll leave it better than we found it.

  472. OK. So we travelled this, we drove

  473. to Troy, MI Portable Church Industries.

  474. They put our stuff together and we're like, now we're not going

  475. to spend $4000 to ship that bad boy.

  476. We're going to drive it up. So I took Barry up to Troy's

  477. right north of Detroit. So I brought Barry up there.

  478. I run my windows down. Went down Eight Mile blaring

  479. M&M. Come on, somebody.

  480. I did. It was for real, man.

  481. Where's Eight Mile? I was like, this isn't that bad,

  482. punk. What are you talking about?

  483. Some harsher streets than Eight Mile, but it was a real deal.

  484. So went up there. Barry lived, didn't get shot or

  485. Shank. It was awesome.

  486. So we came back here. So two weeks before we launched.

  487. We do this setup Sunday. So next picture we unloaded.

  488. I I had so much stuff shipped in from UPS that the UPS driver

  489. came to church and we launched on that launched Sunday.

  490. It was just truckload after truckload have the cases out.

  491. And all these cases in our building were in my front yard.

  492. OK, I had a piece of wood hold them because on the hill.

  493. And dude, I've never sweated or worked so hard in my life just

  494. putting stuff in cases and figuring things out.

  495. It was just incredible. But anyway, team star unloading

  496. Josh actually brought those from home from his twins.

  497. I'm just kidding. He did have twins.

  498. But all right, next picture. All right, So that we started

  499. doing launch training right here in the hub.

  500. Just sharing the vision of our church.

  501. Had amazing launch team. Next picture had 55 people on

  502. launch team. Amen.

  503. Yeah, you give it up. I just gotta know.

  504. How many of you? Were there one who was there at

  505. the at the bowling alley? Show of hands dude.

  506. OG is right there. Come on man.

  507. You guys signed them blood. You know, for those guys man,

  508. that's amazing. How many guys were at launch

  509. training? We launched at that point as

  510. well. OK, so all y'all result of a lot

  511. of these guys effort and energy. Amen.

  512. I mean it's amazing and you guys will play the part.

  513. Fast forward eight years, I'll be like 8 years.

  514. Who was there at the 8th birthday right?

  515. But anyway, it's amazing. Next picture we have Moses.

  516. That's Jared. OK, he does her her video and

  517. everything films everything and Rose amazing team.

  518. Next picture Scott was locked in the trailer all week to be a

  519. little short trailer. I don't know what you're doing

  520. Scott, but thank you for that whatever you're doing let's see

  521. next picture this is this is the this is our screen eight years

  522. ago it's amazing it still exists you can actually see the tape on

  523. the top edge sticking down today from the pole that we had to

  524. taped to it so thank you Jesus reportable right and I've never

  525. seen so many men on these praying took 12 men to put

  526. together the screen that's why it's still standing that's for

  527. babe all right next I'm how long I'm taking too long on these

  528. pictures so all right so launch day so this is September 17th

  529. 2017 launch day right here this is ad memory.

  530. This boy showed up a week early. Actually, we had a, we had a,

  531. what do you call it a preview Sunday or a, it was something

  532. like that. And we're just going to run it

  533. all at once, you know, like just just one time through, like

  534. let's see if everything works. You know, we set up once.

  535. So we set up and the mailers went out and some of the guys

  536. show up early, one of which was Adam the week before and he was

  537. sitting out here and he showed up early And as they came in,

  538. Barry's in the hub, right? There's it's just like for our

  539. team, we're just running through it and Barry seems Adam walk in.

  540. I think the, the, the foresters, the came in and so fosters

  541. foresters because there's two families there.

  542. And Barry sees him coming to the sidewalk and literally he starts

  543. yelling. There's real people here.

  544. There's real people here. Oh, man.

  545. And I was going to preach like just a little piece of the

  546. message, like, Oh yeah, we got it going, you know, and they

  547. came in. I'm like, I guess I'm preaching

  548. the full message today, right? Oh, man.

  549. So God's good. So launch Sunday, September 17th

  550. next picture three and 4-5 people, man 10:00 only packed

  551. out this space and I was in the front.

  552. We sang some of the song. I don't know if we sang that

  553. song. We sang glorious day on launch

  554. day. Shout out to that tip the hat.

  555. That was really good putting that together.

  556. And I remember like just waiting and I got up on stage.

  557. I was just floored because I was like, I'm not going to look

  558. around like, you know what I mean?

  559. Like, did this folder flopper did God do something amazing?

  560. And God showed up? Amen.

  561. And so here's launch day. Here's here's me looking young.

  562. You guys may be old, but it's all right.

  563. So all right, so this is just some stats overall.

  564. So today we with after the second we were baptized 177

  565. people in our church since launch day.

  566. Amen 177. That's amazing.

  567. That's amazing. I mean that number this what to

  568. me is like the most important stat like not just come to

  569. Christ, but like, are you following Jesus?

  570. And that number is so significant for a church and

  571. just there's so much I can say about that.

  572. We've had 457 people commit their life to Jesus that told us

  573. about it. So 4 and 57, Amen.

  574. As eternity changed, that's amazing.

  575. And that's just, it's amazing. So it's been a move of God.

  576. We moved from just a group of people that just kind of showed

  577. up to a real community and it's been amazing.

  578. There's a verse that we've talked about in launch season.

  579. It's Isaiah 4319. And it says this, it says, see,

  580. I'm doing a new thing now it springs up.

  581. Do not, do not perceive it. I'm making a way in the

  582. wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

  583. This verse is about the captivity of, of the tribes of

  584. the, of the, of the southern tribes.

  585. And they're in Babylon. And it's like there's a way

  586. home. Like you're gonna be set for

  587. your captives. You're gonna be free again.

  588. And we launched this church like we're gonna see people come to

  589. Christ. We're gonna see freedom.

  590. We're gonna be a pave a road and God's doing something new.

  591. And we said, thank you for those that pave the way for Jesus to

  592. move people's lives. Amen And those stories are no

  593. different today. You actually heard the story.

  594. I think it was Hannah. And she said, if God, if you

  595. just send me a sign, if one person says hi and welcomes me

  596. or greets me and then 12 people. Amen.

  597. Amen. That should be every person that

  598. walks this best welcoming place in the world.

  599. So thank you guys. Thank you guys for playing a

  600. part of the story. You paved the way in her life.

  601. It's amazing to think that people who are visiting our

  602. church have actually prayed about visiting our church.

  603. If you think about that, we've been praying for people to come

  604. home. They're praying to be home and

  605. we can play part of that story. It's absolutely amazing.

  606. First Thessalonians 28 says this.

  607. It says, so we cared for you because we want to say we we

  608. loved you. We loved you so much.

  609. We were delighted to share with you not only the Gospel of God,

  610. but our lives as well. There's something special about

  611. planting a church and putting roots down the community.

  612. Like, if you're not going to put your glave pot here, then don't

  613. go here. Like, like we're committed not

  614. just to see the gospel, but we're committed to each other as

  615. well. I mean, how many people have

  616. been connected through life groups and relationships?

  617. And my home has always been open.

  618. My phone number is still on the website.

  619. One day it won't be, it's just going to be able to do it.

  620. But my number is on the website. Like we, we just want to welcome

  621. people, not just give you the gospel, but give you all of

  622. ourselves. And it's been kind of a picture

  623. of our church being a community. We've seen families added,

  624. plates added, we've seen plates taken away.

  625. We've walked to the story of COVID.

  626. We've done so much to go to the church, Amen.

  627. And God's been faithful or a family.

  628. And so all we do is just have some stories of how community,

  629. how the gospel through church has changed lives.

  630. And so I'm going to divide up just different people from our

  631. team and they're going to share different stories these days

  632. would be super encouraging. So I'm about up Holly.

  633. Holly, come on up. Give it up for Holly.

  634. Well, I get just the honor and joy and privilege of leading a

  635. few things on our staff team and one of those is helping with

  636. first time guests and people that are new to our church help

  637. them get connected to feel welcome here.

  638. And so I get to share a story about a family that started

  639. coming to our church. It's probably been about 3 or 4

  640. weeks. Her name is Carrie Hieronymus.

  641. Shout out to that last name is so cool.

  642. But this is them here in 543. We threw up their picture.

  643. That's Carrie Ironimus and her family.

  644. So they've been coming for about 3 to 4 weeks, just Carrie and

  645. her daughter's summer, her oldest daughter, their summer.

  646. She actually started coming to our youth group this past

  647. summer, went to youth camp, had a blast.

  648. And Carrie had shared with me last week as she was leaving,

  649. she shared this story that they live in Pleasant Hill.

  650. And she had just been feeling a little disconnected, walked

  651. through some crazy things in her life and just feeling like now's

  652. the time to to come back to God to find a church where she can

  653. get connected and recommit her life.

  654. And so she tried a few churches in Pleasant Hill and just said,

  655. you know, I just never really felt welcome or like those are

  656. my people or where I wanted to get plugged in.

  657. So she decided to come to real life church because she saw the

  658. impact that had made in summer's life.

  659. Summer's loving youth group and getting connected and making

  660. friends and feeling at home here, and she wanted that too.

  661. So she made the drive out from Pleasant Hill about 3 weeks ago

  662. to come to church. And that Sunday she recommitted

  663. her life to Jesus, which is so awesome.

  664. She shared with me last week that that was the first time she

  665. had felt welcome like that in her whole life.

  666. So people are welcomed here no matter what she'd walk through.

  667. She said, you know, I've, I've walked through things in my past

  668. I don't want to talk about, but I nobody judged me when I walked

  669. through those doors. I felt welcome.

  670. I felt loved. Yeah.

  671. Kudos to you guys for being such a welcoming church, a place

  672. where people, no matter what they've walked through, what

  673. they've been through, can come here and find Jesus and

  674. ultimately find freedom and change their eternity.

  675. And the coolest part about this is she's getting baptized in the

  676. next gathering, which is so awesome.

  677. Yeah, That's right. Yep.

  678. Oh, God. She came out actually to our

  679. dream team bonfire this last week.

  680. She said, can I come? I'm not even on the dream team.

  681. I said, heck yeah, come on out. We would love to have you.

  682. She shared with me on Sunday as well that her son and her

  683. husband, she'd been praying that they would come to church too.

  684. And she said, I don't know that it's going to happen, but I

  685. would love for them to come. Well, they came out to the

  686. bonfire. They got connected.

  687. People were talking to them left to right, had such a good time.

  688. And they're coming today to church to watch her get baptized

  689. in the second, which is, I know, an answer to her prayer as well.

  690. Yeah, it's so cool just to walk with people through that.

  691. And that's we hear those stories all the time of how welcome they

  692. feel, which really helps to just take down layer by layer

  693. sometimes in people's hearts for them to be able to let Jesus in

  694. and to meet him and to know him. And so just shout out to you

  695. guys for being such a welcoming and awesome church.

  696. You guys are amazing. And there's, once again, there's

  697. so many stories just like that. But kudos to you all.

  698. You guys are awesome. All right, we got Logan come up

  699. here. Logan Hari.

  700. Logan leads our youth group. Come on.

  701. He's excited. Perfect.

  702. Yeah. So I I lead our front of house

  703. team and I also lead our youth group.

  704. And whenever they asked me to talk about a story that I've

  705. seen take place in the church there, there's obviously a ton

  706. because I've seen a lot of stuff, awesome stuff happened

  707. here. But there was one from a young

  708. man or a youth group that really stood out that kind of

  709. exemplifies walking with God and honing his relationship and just

  710. becoming more and more serious in his faith.

  711. So if you could throw up that picture, and also if Julian

  712. Torres can go ahead and take a stand for me, Everybody give it

  713. up for Julian. Let me tell you.

  714. Let me tell you about my friend Julian.

  715. And Julian is one of the bright spots that I have the

  716. opportunity to speak to and to preach over at our youth group

  717. and to see how he's been growing in Christ.

  718. And he started off, he was one of the, he was one of the first

  719. people that really caught my eye when I first had the opportunity

  720. to start preaching and start leading the group.

  721. He he led the way in worship every single Wednesday.

  722. He had his hands up in the air. He was singing a lot better than

  723. I could at full volume every single week, just leading the

  724. way, getting other kids involved into the worship and excited

  725. about the worship. And he has a very palpable and

  726. it's a very easy to see sense of just genuine worship on his

  727. heart every time he lifts his hands up and he lifts his voice

  728. up. And that caught my eye

  729. immediately and it's only snowballed from there.

  730. You guys know those little difference cards that you use to

  731. invite people out every single week?

  732. We have the little givitations or whatever you call them, bring

  733. invitations, whatever Julian is known at his school for the guy

  734. that hands those out. And he has gone through stacks

  735. upon stacks over the last few years of just inviting people

  736. out of school out to this church.

  737. So we see reckless worship, we see youth, we see giving

  738. evangelistic heart at school. And that culminated into him

  739. actually paying his own way into a mission trip on in Bogota with

  740. us. And so he joined us.

  741. That's what this picture is of, is actually Julian paying his

  742. way and joining us in Bogota on mission, leaving out his calling

  743. for Christ in another country. Yeah, that's big.

  744. That's big, man. Anybody in here that knows

  745. Julian can attest to the kind of character that he has.

  746. If you guys know Scott or Jenny COO, Yeah, Go find them.

  747. Ask them what they think about Julian.

  748. Ask anybody in the youth group what they think about Julian.

  749. And Julian's been taking even bigger steps recently.

  750. He's joined me in a disciple making process.

  751. We've been meeting weekly. We've been going through a book

  752. that is kind of like the seven hallmarks of a genuine faith.

  753. And he's chasing after God. He's doing it in a genuine way,

  754. and he's leading the way four others his age.

  755. So just give it one more time for Julian.

  756. Let him know you love him. It's fantastic.

  757. So Diane, come on up here. She'll share a little bit.

  758. Come on, get up for Diane. All right, I'm Diane and I am

  759. going to get to share about so I'm going to and I'm going to

  760. get to. I'm not good at talking the

  761. about nine months ago, we have launched our first iteration of

  762. our disciple making process at real life called the way.

  763. And it was actually a year ago at our birthday celebration that

  764. we kind of launched this idea and birth this.

  765. How do we make disciples not only who can follow Jesus, but

  766. how do we make disciples who can make other disciples?

  767. Because that's really the call of Jesus, right?

  768. We can't. It's impossible for a small

  769. group of church leadership or whoever to make disciples of all

  770. the nation, and so each believer can be inspired, encouraged, and

  771. equipped to be able to do that on their own.

  772. And so this January, a group of men and a group of women started

  773. meeting every week. They had committed to a year

  774. together that we would meet weekly to go through different

  775. daily habits that we would do together to keep ourselves

  776. accountable to each other, like Bible reading, prayer,

  777. scripture, seeing how God is moving in our lives and shaping

  778. in that. And we also added in every month

  779. we kind of dive deeper into a spiritual habit.

  780. So a month on scripture, a month on prayer, a month on solitude,

  781. a month on fasting. And it's been really cool to get

  782. to walk side by side with people in this process.

  783. And some of my favorite takeaways from this, it's just

  784. been kind of like getting information and feedback from

  785. the people going through the process.

  786. What is this like, what did you think it was going to be like?

  787. What have you experienced? What has God shown you?

  788. And so two stories came to mind. And this actually, it was, it

  789. was actually a few weeks ago after our Saturday morning

  790. meeting, this just kind of organically came up in a

  791. conversation that we were having about what has this been like,

  792. what's been different? And so the first story that I

  793. want to share is Jenny Cuyat. So you saw her up there a little

  794. bit. She went on our missions trip

  795. last summer as well, but she jumped into this disciple making

  796. ministry with us. And Jenny had shared, she's

  797. like, I grew up in church. I have been to a ton of disciple

  798. making classes. I've done a ton of Bible

  799. studies. What I love that she shared

  800. about this process is like, this is the first time in my life

  801. that I've been challenged so intentionally to put practices

  802. of God into my life. Not just to go to a meeting and

  803. to learn things, but then to go home and say, how do I put this

  804. in my heart? How do I express this to others?

  805. How do I share this with other people or see God really make a

  806. move in my life? And I thought it was so cool to

  807. see how we're working to move beyond just information, but

  808. transformation from the word of God.

  809. And so I love her perspective because she's been to so many of

  810. these different things over the year, different iterations, but

  811. the constant challenge to say, man, what is going to be our

  812. next practice? And how is that going to be

  813. flipped on its head from what I think maybe that practice of

  814. Jesus could be? And so it's just really been

  815. cool to see how God has moved in that to take, you know,

  816. sometimes that, oh, I'm going to the disciple making class has

  817. kind of a weird connotation if you've grown up in church or had

  818. different experiences. But it's really been cool to see

  819. how relational it can be. And it's not just like the

  820. teacher teaching, but it's a group of us together, growing

  821. together as we dive through this.

  822. And so the second story, that was another person in this

  823. conversation with Jenny, Anna afterwards is Kristen Baker.

  824. And Kristen Baker is, yeah, she'll love this picture.

  825. She's gonna be so excited that I put this on the screen.

  826. But Kristen's been really fun because she kind of had the

  827. opposite experience where she had some growing up in church,

  828. but like, me and the challenge to jump in and dive in to doing

  829. something deeper. And I remember as I was

  830. launching this and talking about it, I don't even know how.

  831. And maybe she heard about it on stage.

  832. And she's like, I'm doing that. And I'm like, OK, we'll talk.

  833. She's like, no, I'm doing it. I'm like, OK, Kristen, calm

  834. down. We can find a way.

  835. You can do it. But what's been really awesome

  836. and what she shared is that she's like, I went into this

  837. thing and I was like, man, I am going to have like the perfect

  838. Instagrammable quiet time every morning and I am going to nail

  839. this disciple making and I'm going to do it in a few weeks

  840. ago. She's like, I totally did not.

  841. She's like, I have not met the mark of this in any way.

  842. That was my own expectation of what I thought it was going to

  843. be. She's like, I missed days.

  844. I didn't respond on the group text.

  845. I missed, you know, group meetings.

  846. I didn't do the practices perfectly, but what it pointed

  847. out and what I think is so beautiful in the transformation

  848. of that is that we like to think that spiritual growth is this

  849. like linear path. Like I started down here and

  850. then I just went and I grew, but spiritual growth is squiggly.

  851. It's like a this kind of thing. And it's really cool to see the

  852. transformation in her to say that I don't have to look like

  853. the perfect follower of Jesus to still look back and say, but

  854. look at where I am from nine months ago.

  855. I didn't hit every daily Bible reading in these things, but God

  856. has moved in my life and it is a beautiful way to see

  857. transformation happen over the course of time.

  858. And she said if I would not have committed to this longer

  859. commitment of time. She's like a life group wasn't

  860. long enough for me to see God move in that way, but she's like

  861. me and this year commitment and just to be able to get to the

  862. end of it and say I committed a year of my life to following

  863. Jesus has been really cool. So both of of those stories we

  864. are actually reading in John 14 this week reflecting on and then

  865. Thomas I wrote it down because I wouldn't remember said in John

  866. 14-5 and six. He said, Lord, how will we know

  867. the way and Jesus said I'm the way.

  868. And so the whole of this disciple making process and we

  869. are launching this out in January and several iterations

  870. that are still being formed for more people to get involved

  871. because we have a heart for people of all walks to say I've

  872. known Jesus a long time. I just committed my life to

  873. Jesus today, or I'm somewhere in between that to have a place

  874. where you can go and have spiritual growth and connection

  875. because that happens in relationships, it happens with

  876. people, but it's really the call of God to go and make disciples.

  877. And so we want to be faithful to that.

  878. So I'm really excited about how this is going to continue to

  879. grow and just seeing how God has moved through both of our groups

  880. that are going through this. How many guys would say, man, I

  881. could walk a little closer to Jesus, I could put some

  882. spiritual habits in my life, some some disciplines, some

  883. practices. All of us are real honest.

  884. Like man, we could really grow and dine.

  885. Say it's not up and to the right.

  886. That'd be amazing, right? It's always up and to the right.

  887. But like long obedience, obedience over a long time, it's

  888. amazing how it changes. So we're really excited about

  889. that. So thanks for taking extra time

  890. and sharing. Really passionate our church to

  891. create disciples that make disciples.

  892. So we're going to see more in the future.

  893. Christy Hardy, come on up. You've got I love yous out

  894. there. You're like the most popular

  895. person in the world. Hey, real quick, how many guys

  896. were invited to church by Christy Hardy?

  897. Show of hands. Seriously, how many guys are

  898. invited by church? Christy?

  899. I feel like half the visitors come to church because of

  900. Christy. So give her Christy one more

  901. time. Come on, you're amazing.

  902. So I'm already emotional, so this is going to be even harder.

  903. I am very blessed to be able to coordinate real life kids and to

  904. be back in the kids. Kids are important.

  905. Who would agree? And then God gave us kids as a

  906. gift. And God specifically said in the

  907. Bible to let the children come to me.

  908. And, and kids can be loud and messy and obnoxious and all

  909. those things, right? And God said, I want those kids.

  910. God has placed such a love in my heart for kids to see Finley get

  911. baptized today. And Finley came, and Finley

  912. came, and Finley's been a part of a family that gave their life

  913. to God and they gave their life to God as a family, which has

  914. been the coolest thing ever. And when Finley said that, she

  915. was thanking me for being a part of that.

  916. And it's just been such an amazing privilege that God has

  917. given me to have a heart for kids and to love kids.

  918. And it's not just we don't just babysit and we don't just chase

  919. kids. We do a lot of that.

  920. But we share the love of Christ with your kids every week.

  921. And we want that continue through the week.

  922. So I'm so thankful for those of you that have your children back

  923. in the children's ministry. And we truly love your kids and

  924. we want them to know Jesus as their Savior.

  925. There were two other baptisms today that were because of kids.

  926. So Melissa and Hannah both came and were baptized because of

  927. their children. Tanya and I have a very unique

  928. and special job in our job world and we have an amazing privilege

  929. to be able to go into homes and to help people with their

  930. children. And God has turned that into a

  931. ministry. And that is why Hannah was here

  932. today is because Tanya didn't just take information on growth

  933. into a home, she took the love of God into a home with her.

  934. It's amazing. So there are two other kids in

  935. our kids ministry that there's many of our kids who were here

  936. since the very beginning, some of them in their mama's tummies

  937. since the like that since the beginning.

  938. So Jack and Kyler have both been so here's Jack up on the left.

  939. So Jack is obviously Shawn and Diane's oldest son.

  940. He is 8 years old. The church is 8 years old.

  941. So Jack's been here since the beginning.

  942. And Kyler, there's a picture of him up there as well.

  943. There we go. He's over until revival moves

  944. our city. Today is Kyler's birthday and he

  945. is 9. So they also have been with us

  946. since the very beginning. These two young men, the coolest

  947. thing about them at church camp, I saw both of them helping other

  948. kids find verses in their Bibles and back in the kids ministry.

  949. They will be the ones getting up and go into tables and helping

  950. kids find verses in the Bible. They didn't learn that just from

  951. coming to church for an hour. Church like Jesus happens Monday

  952. through Sunday. Jesus doesn't just happen on

  953. Sunday. So we are a life giving church

  954. that believes that we train our children, but we do it as a

  955. family and it doesn't just happen at church.

  956. So it's super exciting to see these kids come with a passion

  957. to love and to know Jesus. And then throughout the week,

  958. their parents are fostering that love and talking and reading the

  959. Bible together. And I think that's why our

  960. church is growing because we truly love Jesus seven days a

  961. week. So thank you for the blessing of

  962. your children. Who knows?

  963. Our children need Jesus. Amen I mean it's amazing it's

  964. you watch the young kids that like are are in the back of the

  965. real life kids area look sometimes come from youth group

  966. just because families are hanging during things worship

  967. practice happening and then there were the verses are at

  968. they're shown adults with the verses are at my my son Jackie

  969. drop the graph like a home during camp this year started

  970. playing he's 8 years old. I put it away.

  971. He goes, oh, I can play and like, oh, OK.

  972. And he jumped in. It's just amazing to watch how

  973. got used our next generation. And we love him.

  974. So I want to invite up one last person I'll know.

  975. It's probably how you hear. Where's Barry at?

  976. There he is. He's in the back.

  977. Come on. Give it up for Barry Hardy.

  978. Come on. I noticed he changed out the

  979. swim trunks. There's a great story there.

  980. You talk to him. Later you guys don't need to

  981. know about that story you about found out.

  982. Use your imagination. So I got it before I show the

  983. two people that I want to talk about, I got to tell you guys

  984. and some of you guys know my story, but a little bit about

  985. how I grew up. And so I grew up in a world

  986. where I grew up in church and it was a great church.

  987. It was Blue Ridge Baptist simple back in the day at 470 Blue

  988. Ridge, one of the biggest churches in the city.

  989. And I, I had the, I had the joy and the privilege of growing up

  990. a church that just would bring people together at some level,

  991. at a big level and look for Jesus.

  992. But they did it in a way sometimes where people never

  993. felt comfortable if, if they didn't measure up right off the

  994. bat. Because, you know, Diane said it

  995. perfectly. A lot of times we think that

  996. once we, when we find Jesus, everything should be fixed,

  997. right. And Sean gave us a great a

  998. phrase and an idea when we launched, we're gonna give here

  999. in real life, we're gonna give, we're gonna give God as much

1000. time to fix a life as Satan took to destroy it.

1001. That makes sense. So when we have somebody come in

1002. and they've had a life, you know, that's been wrecked for

1003. twenty, 30-40 years. That, that we expect them to be

1004. perfect, you know, day 2. It's just not realistic.

1005. So I grew up in a church that had a lot of people that were on

1006. fire for God and living for God. And on the other side, my

1007. parents had another group of people that, that, that

1008. surrounded me. They were called construction

1009. workers, specifically concrete guys, right?

1010. I don't know if you know anything about concrete guys or,

1011. or construction guys in in general, you can have a really

1012. good time with them, but man, they live a hard life, right.

1013. And so on one side I would, I would, I would go to church on

1014. Sundays and, and, and Sunday night and Wednesday with people

1015. that were, you know, preaching Jesus and living for Jesus.

1016. And then the rest of the week I'm, I'm surrounded by guys that

1017. are dealing with drug addiction, alcohol addiction, broken homes

1018. heading. There was one guy, he got in a

1019. fight with six of the Cass County deputies and beat them

1020. all up over here by Ranger right here as a kid is what I saw.

1021. Those worlds really never collided because sometimes my

1022. dad would get those guys to come to church and they were so out

1023. of place. They never fit in.

1024. They would walk away and their life were never changed.

1025. And so I always thought it was kind of a tragedy that that our

1026. church had a hard time assimilating those people.

1027. And you read the gospels and you see the disciples and I'm like,

1028. man, those people were screwed up to Peter, John, James, all

1029. those guys, they screwed up. They had mountaintop experiences

1030. and then they went to the valley.

1031. What I'd loved about real life is these two guys that I'm gonna

1032. throw up and they're probably gonna kill me.

1033. I've got to watch their lives where at a lot of churches and a

1034. lot of communities. People probably would have given

1035. up on them. But what's been cool is, is that

1036. real life hasn't given up on them and they haven't given up

1037. on Jesus. And So what I love about him is

1038. there's some of the the two of the most honest men that I ever

1039. know. And you guys go ahead and throw

1040. their pictures up back there, Tim Phelps and Tony Marrone.

1041. I won't make you stand up, Tim, because you're still taller than

1042. everybody else sitting down. What I love about these two is

1043. this is that go talk to them and they'll tell you that where they

1044. screw up day in and day out. But I tell you what, you talk to

1045. them a little longer, then you find out how God is moving in

1046. their lives, how they're reaching forward to find the

1047. next step. Take some ground for Jesus.

1048. Had a great conversation with Tim on Tuesday night at the Hog

1049. Roast Man. God is moving in their lives,

1050. and as a church, as a community, as a gathering of believers

1051. here, we have a space for people to come in no matter what they

1052. look like, no matter what they've been through, and they

1053. can meet Jesus. It's a good word, man.

1054. Yeah, I came up with this phrase.

1055. A scene. We can trust God for salvation,

1056. but all the time don't trust God for sanctification.

  1057. It's a process. Amen.

  1058. And nobody's perfect. I'm not perfect.

1059. There's nobody that doesn't mess up, but it's amazing how our

1060. church has loved on people that sometimes look hard to love on.

1061. But that's what church is here for, Amen.

1062. You know, oftentimes you look at people, it's like it should not

1063. be harder to go to heaven than it is to go to church.

1064. And I came from a church with a lot of separation.

1065. And you had to be a certain way. And real life is real life on

1066. purpose, Amen. And so we talk about the future

1067. like this is the first eight years, like what's, what's it

1068. look like in the future for our church?

1069. And I can just tell you it's going to sound cliche and

1070. familiar, but our church is not moving off our mission to see

1071. people far from God, discover real life and purpose in Jesus,

  1072. Amen. Like that's why we're here.

1073. That's that's the evangelism, that's to stop making all

1074. together. It's to send out a mission, help

1075. people find their purpose in Christ.

1076. That's where we're standing on. We're staying on Scripture,

  1077. Amen. In a world that's absolutely

1078. just seems to go crazy all the time.

1079. I'm so glad we have the rock of the word of God.

1080. I'm so glad it's written down so AI can't change it, Amen.

1081. Like I'm glad as we can build our life on Christ.

1082. And so we're excited to guys you the next really, it's next year.

1083. There's a few things going on this next season.

1084. I'll let you guys know about one.

  1085. We're starting a thing called a welcome party.

1086. It'll actually cook off next month.

1087. It's why we actually changed our gathering times.

1088. It knows from 9:15 to 9:00. So it's 9/10/45 to create some

1089. space in between. We connect with so many new

1090. people are coming to our church. If you just hang around and

1091. watch and say, hey, do I know a person, there's so many people

1092. coming every week and to get them connected to what it looks

1093. like to belong to community to to know what we're here for,

1094. what's our church about, But to help them find those

1095. relationships, how to find the right people, help to find the

1096. right truth and where to grow, where to belong.

1097. And so we're really passionate about this.

1098. So next month, like each month moving forward, we're doing a

1099. welcome party. And so they come out one Sunday

1100. month between the gatherings and a chance to really just pour

1101. into them. It helped them find their place

1102. that belong here and we care for them.

1103. Amen. So you're going to see that it's

1104. going to be rolling out and that's on our heart.

1105. We've been working out on quite a bit last few months.

1106. We've changed up our growth track crash course with a lot of

1107. different ways. And we believe this can be what

1108. God's calls to do right now in this season.

1109. Same thing is this. We're jumping into our disasple

1110. making pathway. Me and I spent a year between

1111. January to December this year with with the I with these guys

1112. 5:30 in the morning Thursday's come on somebody riding early

1113. last Thursday I was up at 3:45. Man, I could not believe I grew

1114. up at 3:45 and just prepping out praying and just believe in

1115. Gaza, do big things. We have a great group of men and

1116. dines leading these women on Saturday.

1117. But the idea behind this is that we released them in January to

1118. make disciples of our whole church and beyond our church to

1119. reach into neighborhoods. It's it's decentralized disciple

1120. making, which means that it can happen anytime, any place, any

1121. space, and it can help people find and walk with Jesus.

1122. And so you're going to see in the way of prayer, the way of

1123. solitude, the way of Scripture, like just simple things to help

1124. you grow. And you may see this, I'm not

1125. sure how we're going to lay it on maybe with life groups, but

1126. you're going to have an opportunity to have a spiritual

1127. coach, a spiritual mentor doing life together with you and just

1128. showing you what it is to live like Jesus, Not just know the

1129. Bible because we have enough information in the United

1130. States, that's for sure. But to actually live it out is

1131. what we're called practices. And so the way is what they

1132. called early church is called the way.

1133. They're so different than the culture.

  1134. There's like that's that's the way.

1135. It wasn't called real life or something.

1136. It was just the way. And so we want to be counter

1137. cultural, just live in the way of Jesus.

1138. Amen. So if you need to grow, just

1139. look for that in January, like you're going to see this just

1140. move through our church very organically and very, very

1141. powerfully and very excited about that.

1142. Last thing is this, we're leading to this season.

1143. We're starting a series on October 12th called Difference

1144. Maker, and we've been talking about this, We talked about this

1145. last birthday and in December about jumping in what it looked

1146. like to have our first permanent home.

1147. And this series is going to be the number one series, the most

1148. important series that would ever preach so far in a life of our

1149. church. So six weeks long.

1150. I'm going to invite you guys to come be a part of this every

1151. single week and learn what is to be a difference maker and what

1152. it look like for us to step out of the face together so we can

1153. get the opportunity to be in our first permanent space.

  1154. Amen. That's a big deal.

1155. That's a big deal. And I believe God can do just a

1156. miracle through US. I believe you can open doors

1157. through US. I'll encourage you to be a part

1158. of this. Help write the story in the next

1159. generation. You know, eight years, it's been

1160. great. We had just under 500 people

1161. come to Christ and almost 200 baptisms.

1162. I'm thinking the next eight years, I'm thinking 10s of

1163. thousands of people come to Christ.

1164. I'm, I'm thinking thousands of people being baptized.

1165. Like I don't, this is not plain as safe like stepping out on a

1166. limb, like actually put your money in your mouth.

1167. This like, like serving hard, believing hard, praying hard,

1168. walking with Jesus and see what God can do.

1169. Amen. And so this is what God's asked

1170. us in this season. I love being a part of a church

1171. that has a big vision, that's bold, that's not going to just

1172. be status quo because we, we can stay in the portable space,

1173. maybe stay there for those 10 years.

1174. But God, I don't believe he's called us the status quo, Amen.

1175. He's called us to move and be a permanent fixture in our

1176. community, to let the world know that we're here and here to stay

1177. in a place to preach the gospel, a place where young people come

1178. to Christ. We don't walk into a scuba wall.

1179. Come on, somebody that's a pipe and trape, right?

1180. A place where everything points to Jesus.

1181. And we're very, very excited about it.

1182. So just look forward to the next three months.

1183. You're going to see a lot of amazing new things happening in

1184. our church, Amen. Because God is not done with us.

1185. So give it up for Jesus one last time.

1186. For eight years. God, you're always faithful.

1187. That we've learned in these eight years, your promise has

1188. always come true. God, we are not.

1189. We are the limiting factor, not you.

1190. Lord, you are willing, You provide for us.

1191. And so God, thank you for your Holy Spirit.

1192. God, I pray you would fill this place once again.

1193. You'd fill us with your spirit, God, to do your work, to do

1194. extraordinary things for your name.

1195. God the gospel would go out as a light as we hold on to truth

1196. like salt and that we would put seasoning on our community.

1197. We shine a light into the place that we live, work, play and

1198. study. God the gospel move way outside

1199. the four walls of this church and go into our community, our

1200. city and beyond and across the world.

1201. So God, I pray you call men, call women, children, young

1202. people into the mission to remind us there were ambassadors

1203. for you. God that the mission is outside

1204. this place that people like Tim and Tony and they even brought a

1205. friend today that's curious about Jesus.

1206. Then he's got life walking with Christ.

1207. God that this would be our testimony.

1208. God, you would write the story. God, we have a blank page.

1209. We ask for you, God, to write our story in these years to

1210. come. God, thank you for the vision

1211. that you're not just giving me, but our team and our church.

1212. God, thank you for the faithless of our people to welcome people

1213. like you're the only person to care for people, like the only

1214. person to shepherd people. And God, thank you for giving us

  1215. a church that's so countercultural, God, that's

1216. full of love and grace and mercy and your truth and the power of

1217. the gospel goes off through this place, God, not just from a

1218. stage on Sunday, but through us throughout the week with our

1219. family and friends and our community.

1220. God, thank you for us being a light to lost people that are

1221. far from you. God, let's continue.

1222. God, to use us in a big way, God, for your Kingdom.

1223. God we humbly ask you God as your servant, God as your

1224. disciples God to lift this place up as we step out of faith

1225. together in the season got these next eight years will be a

1226. hallmark eight years that the community would know that we

1227. weren't here because of the change that would happen.

1228. And so God, we're so blessed to be part of this community and

1229. the school system. All of her things.

1230. Thank you for those relationships got things for the

1231. faithfulness of the men and women who came to the stage of

1232. leader teams got things that are stepped up as elders got that

1233. lead the way as a board that put in tireless hours by the scenes

1234. to build this house. And so God we trust you continue

1235. to that in the future. God we give you all the glory,

1236. the praise, the honor, we praise in Jesus name and the church

1237. said Amen. Give it for Jesus one more time

1238. on our 8th birthday. Man 8 years what a day I just to

1239. celebrate and. Reflect in here just the

1240. goodness of God through all of those stories and through all

1241. that he's doing here. And maybe today you met Jesus.

1242. Maybe you accepted him. Today you recognize you need him

1243. in your life. If that's you, we are so excited

1244. for you that you're taking this next step in your journey with

1245. him. You can grab that connection

1246. card that's on your seat there. You can fill that out there, but

1247. check the box that says I committed my life to Jesus and

1248. you can drop that in the giving buckets here in just a few

1249. minutes. But just by doing that allows us

1250. to walk alongside you to answer any questions to resource you.

1251. We'd love to get you a free book in the mail this week.

1252. It's called begin. It's a short read, but it really

1253. truly is a powerful read and will help you on your first

1254. steps with Jesus and if you commit your life to Jesus here

1255. in Kentucky Trail today as you exit the worship center, there

1256. is a table with some red bags on it.

1257. Please grab one of those as well.

1258. And there's a free Bible in there.

1259. There's a few other resources that we would love to get to you

1260. this week. Hey, if you are newer with us,

1261. if this is your first time here with us, thank you so much for

1262. coming. We're so glad that you chose to

1263. spend your morning right here with us and we truly don't want

1264. anything from you except for this.

1265. And that's just to introduce yourself to us.

1266. We'd love to know you if you can fill out that same connection

1267. card, fill out your information on the top there, but check that

1268. box that says first time here. If you would hold on to that and

1269. just take it out to the new here booth when you leave, it's

1270. outside those doors just to the right.

1271. If you give that to the ladies behind the booth there, we would

1272. love to get you a free gift. Just our way of saying thank you

1273. so much for being here. But we would love to see you

1274. back here next week. We'd love to see you and just

1275. thank you so much for being here with us this morning.

1276. I want to pause as we celebrate our 8th birthday and just say a

1277. heartfelt thank you. Thank you to each and everyone

1278. of you who has faithfully given to Real Life Church over the

1279. last eight years everything that you've given.

1280. It's allowed us to fuel ministry, to change lives, made

1281. to advance the Gospel in more ways than we may ever know.

1282. And so thank you so much. And today we get to celebrate

1283. some of that. We at the end of today, we will

1284. have baptized 177 people, 177 stories of life change and of

1285. people who have made the decision to go public with their

  1286. faith. We've seen about a four, 460

1287. people in the last eight years commit their lives to Jesus, 460

1288. lives who are changed for eternity because of your

1289. faithfulness to give here. We invest 20% of all that's

1290. given here right back to our kids and our youth ministry.

1291. Our youth ministry is thriving. It's growing.

1292. We see about 25 teens on average every week get to hear about

1293. Jesus and get connected each and every Wednesday night.

1294. Our kids ministry is just so awesome.

1295. I've got 4 kids that go back there and I can attest to that

1296. too. But they're little world

1297. changers, and they're not just being babysat back there, but

1298. they know that Jesus loves them. It's not just information and

1299. learning the stories, but it truly is transformation in their

1300. little hearts. And so thank you for that.

1301. We've seen the gospel go out across the world through

1302. missions. We've seen people disciples

1303. being made. You heard about that this

1304. morning through the way and going out and doing that.

1305. So thank you so much to each and everyone of you who give here

1306. all glory to God for all of that, not through real life

1307. church, but just for him, all to his name.

1308. And so here's the invitation. If you never give in or maybe if

1309. you're giving has been inconsistent, man, what better

1310. day then today on our 8th birthday to start that we truly

1311. do invite you to write the next chapter with us because we

1312. really believe that the best is yet to come here at real life

1313. church. So if you call real life church

1314. home, there are so many ways you can take part in that.

1315. You can check out the screen there, you can scan the QR you

1316. can text to give. You can head on over to our

1317. website. There's also a giving box in the

1318. back that you can drop a cash or check in.

1319. The buckets are going to pass here in just a few minutes as

1320. well. Also, if you or your family find

1321. yourself in any kind of immediate need this week, would

1322. you please reach into the buckets as they pass here in

1323. just a few minutes? Please grab out any loose cash

1324. that's in there. We truly do want to bless you

1325. and your family this week. Hey man, who enjoyed?

1326. Today, man, can we give it up for God one more time?

1327. What He's? Doing man Amen Amen.

1328. Because these buckets, are you guys going past the buckets?

1329. Hey, I want to leave you guys with one last thing before I get

1330. you guys out of here and maybe for some of these awesome

1331. stories today. And you're like, that sounds

1332. good, but what's next for me? What's my next step?

1333. You know, I'm struggling to get connected.

1334. Come check us out. And we meet throughout the week

1335. in our life groups. Come find us on a board.

1336. Find a group that meets at a time that's convenient for you,

1337. works for you, and we would love to have you.

1338. We're in our third week. It is not too late.

1339. There's room for you. So man, that is the best way to

1340. get connected and take that next step to see what God's got for

1341. you. Find a life group that fits for

1342. you. So hey, if you need prayer for

1343. any reason, we would love to pray with you up here, whether

1344. it's as individuals or as a family.

1345. Can't wait to see you guys again next week, either 9:00 or 10:45.

1346. And as always, remember, whoever finds Jesus discovers real life

  1347. and purpose.
