  1. Have you thought of what it means to be through at all?

  2. Because there's probably some of you guys that are in the middle

  3. of it all right in this very moment.

  4. You've walked through these doors and you didn't know where

  5. else to be. I've heard some really some some

  6. really cool stories about horror stories this week.

  7. It's getting a little emotional because I think of where I think

  8. of where people are and even the midst of that.

  9. I love that phrase that we've just worshipped in it as well.

  10. If you are a child of God and can say it as well, man, what a

  11. blessing. What an awesome opportunity to

  12. worship. If you're not here today and you

  13. can't say that, my prayer is at the end of the day that you can

  14. say it as well. So today, instead of a shout or

  15. a praise, and can we just say a big Amen to it as well?

  16. Amen, man. It is so awesome, man.

  17. I love worship with you guys. Just to come in, in this moment

  18. of community, just as a family, just to just to give some praise

  19. back to God and be able to sell it as well.

  20. Man, what a great thing. So I want to recognize some new

  21. people today, man, we have a lot of new people in person or

  22. online. Can we show those guys some love

  23. real life? Give them a round of applause,

  24. man. I'm so thankful you guys are

  25. here washing it with this at this gathering at Kentucky Trail

  26. of real life. Hey, take this opportunity.

  27. Take 30 seconds and greet somebody around you, would you?

  28. All right, you guys can go ahead and be seated, man.

  29. Hey, as you're sitting down, you guys are getting ready to sit

  30. down on something awesome called a connection card, man.

  31. This is for everybody in the house today.

  32. If you're if you call real life home, we love it when you fill

  33. us out, man. Let us know what's going on in

  34. your life. We love having conversations

  35. with you guys. And one of the best ways that we

  36. get to know what's happening is if you've got this connection

  37. card, maybe it's a praise, maybe something you've been praying

  38. for for a long time. God answered.

  39. Maybe it's a prayer request. Maybe you're going through

  40. something in the middle of it. You're through go trying to go

  41. through it all right now and we would love to have it.

  42. Our leaders get this in and they pray over these cars.

  43. They reach out to you guys. So if you call real life home,

  44. please fill this out. If you guys are new, I'm going

  45. to make a promise. We're not going to ask anything

  46. else from you today except for one simple thing.

  47. We would love for you to give us an introduction and that

  48. introduction is just a way for us to reach out to you.

  49. You can fill out the top of the car to the level you're

  50. comfortable with. We're not going to beat your

  51. house or anything weird, but we want to know about who we are,

  52. real life, what we're doing. And then we more importantly

  53. want you to know that God loves you and we love you.

  54. And everything that we do kind of filters out of this mission

  55. statement that we have. And that mission is this is to

  56. see people far from God discover their real life and their

  57. purpose in Jesus. And when you're going through it

  58. all, people get wrecked, the world throws them away.

  59. And maybe you've been there where you, you, your friend

  60. group has disappeared because of whatever reason.

  61. Maybe you're sick or you're not as funny as you used to be or

  62. whatever. And in the moment of our

  63. loneliness and our, our, our, our isolation, you still have a

  64. creator that's looking for you. So when we come in here, we get

  65. to introduce people to Jesus and we gather not out of some other

  66. common interest or just something belief other than

  67. Jesus. And when we get to introduce

  68. people to Jesus, we fulfill that mission.

  69. We feel that Commission. So man, we are excited that

  70. you're here with us today and we would invite you to be on that

  71. mission with us. We're in the middle of an

  72. awesome message series. For for.

  73. For a lot of us, we look at our life and we look in the past.

  74. We think, man, everything that is good and great has already

  75. happened. Our best days are behind us.

  76. And that's not true, absolutely not true.

  77. And there's good things about having plans and goals and

  78. aspirations, but what if our aspiration, really, if our goal

  79. is to have clarity about what God has for us in our future,

  80. for our eternity, what heaven looks like.

  81. And there's very few times that you ever hear a sermon about

  82. heaven other than in passing. And so it's been really an

  83. awesome pleasure to hear, you know, Pastor Sean opened God's

  84. word and just share with us a vision of what God has for us.

  85. It brings clarity to our life and bring expectation, brings

  86. anticipation to know what what God has for us.

  87. We've talked about what heaven looks like, what we're going to

  88. be doing there. And so today we're going to

  89. continue in that message series. So real life, would you guys put

  90. your hands together, bring up Pastor Sean as we continue.

  91. Heaven. Good morning, guys.

  92. Man, I'm glad to be back among the living.

  93. Amen. I was sick a little bit last

  94. week, just a little bit. We won't go in the details, but

  95. first of all, it is well, Amen. I can just hear you guys

  96. singing, which is amazing. This message today is going to

  97. lean right into that. Before jump in, I'll say thank

  98. you guys. They're a new or new to real

  99. life. Can you guys give it up for

  100. everybody's newer newer Come on, we just love you guys being

  101. here. Last week we had our welcome

  102. party and we had 19 like newer people to our to our church and

  103. dine had been out of town for like a month.

  104. So I introduced her and I was like, hey, just so you know, I

  105. do have a wife. This is Diane.

  106. So you haven't been better yet. But man, those guys just

  107. blessing to share a vision a harder church.

  108. A lot of them have jumped on our serve team today.

  109. So see people serving their their new but give it to those

  110. guys went to the welcome party. Amen.

  111. Let them know you love them. There's one more group of people

  112. I want to thank that are just making a tremendous difference

  113. in this season. And it's those that are open up

  114. their house, they open up the word of God.

  115. They're open really their soul and their heart to you guys.

  116. It's our life group leaders. And so give it up for our life

  117. group leaders. Amen.

  118. It's been fun. It's been 2 weeks in and to hear

  119. the stories of all the people that have been going to groups,

  120. I like to ask people, hey, how's it going and just people getting

  121. back in the word of God spouses, there's a lot of ladies that are

  122. kind of dragging their spouse along, which is kind of fun to

  123. watch and people are open the Bibles and the way groups,

  124. people memorizing the scripture. How many guys memorize your

  125. first scripture this year that you may not memorize in years

  126. and years near a show of hands. Some of you guys memorize some

  127. scripture that's pretty good. Amen.

  128. Come on, somebody. And it's amazing.

  129. We go most of our life we don't read the Bible.

  130. We're not in the Bible. And I'll encourage you guys to

  131. jump into a group. We're not a group yet.

  132. And not all the groups are are geared towards just going to the

  133. Bible. But if you need to be cared for,

  134. you need to jump in a group. And so I encourage you, if

  135. you're not in the group, you come on Sunday, you sit, you go,

  136. you're probably not going to receive the care you really need

  137. unless you get into a group. Amen.

  138. We have people that love you, they care for you, they'll pray

  139. for you. That knows go on your life and

  140. really show you things of God and that's how you grow.

  141. You take leaps around people. So I encourage you guys, this is

  142. the beginning of the third week got amazing groups and they're

  143. they're full. There's a lot of people going to

  144. groups. And so I encourage you guys to

  145. jump in even even stay not behind the ball.

  146. Amen. A few weeks in.

  147. So I want to share something that's really cool and just

  148. celebrate this a few weeks ago. We do not get to this very

  149. often, so it's kind of like once in blue moon kind of thing, but

  150. we got to donate a car that somebody done to us a few weeks

  151. ago to somebody in need and it was really cool.

  152. There's a young man that's been going to our church and it's one

  153. of those stories it's hard for me to relate to because this

  154. person started out in kind of the gang life and just has seen

  155. a lot of loss, a lot of pain, a lot of things and has been

  156. struggling. But it's like struggling

  157. forward. And this person is like

  158. motivated and striving and walking to work and, you know,

  159. rain, sleet, snow, whatever, and just trying to make things work,

  160. reading books, all sorts of stuff.

  161. And so I talked to young man, I said, hey, look, I got this car,

  162. but if you get a license, I'd get this car to you because he's

  163. been between a license and he's been working on his license.

  164. A few weeks ago, he showed up and had some paperwork.

  165. He was super stoked. He said, dude, I'm right there.

  166. That's OK, let's meet up this week.

  167. I've been holding this car for a while and, and hold it for him.

  168. He knew that. And so let's meet up.

  169. And I made him up at his job and he had told me he's like, man, I

  170. called my mom before you got here and it was just so excited

  171. because that's what you do when you're excited, you call your

  172. mom. Amen.

  173. You know what I mean? And like mom, I got a car, you

  174. know, and this person's really never received something to

  175. really that level or anything really like that.

  176. And it's my life. He was so thankful and we drove

  177. around to drop the car and this kind of stuff.

  178. And he just kept saying, I don't know how to thank you.

  179. I don't know how to thank you. And I said, you don't have to

  180. thank me, man. Like you just thank God, Amen.

  181. Like this is a gift that somebody passed to us.

  182. We're just passing on to you. And I told him, I said, the only

  183. thing I'm going to ask you to do is that one day when you have

  184. the opportunity and you will, and you have the means when God

  185. puts in your heart to give something away that's irrational

  186. to somebody else in need. And maybe it's a car and maybe

  187. it's a home. Maybe it's some somebody moving

  188. in. Whatever it is, I ask you to do

  189. it because it's way more fun. I was actually in the back seat

  190. at this point because somebody else is chauffeuring us around,

  191. which is pretty cool. I'm in the back seat and I'm

  192. like, hey look is so much more fun and so much more full of joy

  193. to give than receive. And it's way more fun to send

  194. the back seat this car and watch you be excited because I've been

  195. in the front seat before. Amen.

  196. I've had people give things to me I'd never ask for.

  197. I'm not the kind of guy that's going to do that, but I've had

  198. people bless my life. And I'm just telling you it is

  199. way more fun to give than receive.

  200. Amen. So this man was completely

  201. humbled, you can tell. And I'm excited for him.

  202. He can level up, get a different job because he's been walking

  203. everywhere and there's excise what God's going to do and just

  204. we get the opportunity to do that to people.

  205. Amen. It's irrational generosity.

  206. Like we we could have sold the car like we're we're saving

  207. money for a building, right? But you see him, you're like,

  208. man, I'm going to get behind that.

  209. I'm going to plant some seeds in that.

  210. I'm going to encourage that. Real interesting kind of side

  211. note. Now I'm just going to say this

  212. because I can, I'm the pastor, so we'll do that.

  213. But last time I gave a car away, I got some Flack from people,

  214. man, there was a few people like I didn't get a car.

  215. Kind of heard that through the wind of the church and I was

  216. like, so somebody's upset they didn't get a car.

  217. That's interesting. So I'm just going to let you

  218. know that somebody getting blessed doesn't take away from

  219. your blessing. Amen.

  220. God is not short on cars. Just so you know, he was Oprah

  221. apparently too. The guy's not short on cars, but

  222. he is short on people that he can trust with the car.

  223. Like it's like the parable the, the 10 lepers or really a store

  224. of 10 lepers and he heals all these lepers, only one comes

  225. back. And I'm looking for people and

  226. we're looking for people that have the heart towards God and

  227. it it make it easy to get blessed, Amen.

  228. But I will say this, and I've yet to see this, and this is a

  229. rule of science, free maturity is instead of complaining about

  230. not getting a car, you should be complaining about not be able to

  231. give a car away. That's the level you need to get

  232. to. It's like, man, I wish I could

  233. be in the spot where I had the means and opportunity and I

  234. could do that. And one day you will because

  235. we're made to be conduits of God's blessing.

  236. Amen. So this is kind of proof for

  237. thought I'll put out there. So if I still get some Flack,

  238. then you'll hear from me next time.

  239. But just want to put out there. I'm, I'm excited to preach

  240. today. We're we're back in the series

  241. on heaven. We, we kind of had a little

  242. thing last week, but I just want to encourage you guys, man, I'm

  243. excited to preach. It's been a few weeks.

  244. Are you guys trying to receive something today?

  245. Sad to hear from, from God's word.

  246. As always, I'm thinking about heaven.

  247. I want the the things you see in the scripture to move you and

  248. change the way you Live Today. And today's going with those

  249. like deeper level kind of conversations.

  250. Today's really dedicated those of you that are struggling in

  251. your faith. And it could look a lot of ways.

  252. It could be bad news at home with your kids or something

  253. happened to family. It could be relationship that

  254. blew up and you and you're wondering like, man, where's God

  255. on this? Like is God still good?

  256. Like you see pain and suffering and I'll give you some things

  257. I've seen even this week. I I've heard about a lady that

  258. went through a situation in childhood trauma that just, it

  259. really ticks me off, you know, and you see that kind of stuff

  260. and then you wonder like, OK, God, what are you doing?

  261. And where are you at? Like, are you good?

  262. Are you powerful? What's going on, right?

  263. And you see these losses, maybe like natural disasters where you

  264. see Camp Majestic, right? And you see these young girls

  265. that are swept away to flood. And you're wondering like, OK,

  266. God, like, I just don't understand.

  267. Like, what are you doing? Like you see his things, like

  268. there was a Marine that fell off the USS Iwo Jima just this last

  269. couple days and they searched for him for an hour or a day and

  270. they couldn't find him, right? They're like, Lord, man, this

  271. guy's protecting our country and he's lost at sea.

  272. And you see these things like wondering like, God, are you

  273. real? Are you good?

  274. And it today's just dedicate those that are struggling with

  275. pain and loss and suffering. That's all of us.

  276. And that's what was really encouraging to hear this song.

  277. You're saying it is well. And like, Lord, help us to

  278. really meet it because that song was actually written by a man

  279. who journeyed over the sea and his wife and his kids were

  280. killed as a boat sank. And so he didn't know about for

  281. months. And he traveled over sea to go

  282. to the funeral for his family. And he wrote those words over

  283. the very spot where their ship sank.

  284. And you say, I do a Lord of the winds and the waves.

  285. And you'd as well with my soul. Like, that song is written

  286. complete, utter brokenness. Amen.

  287. Now as you want to see today, like how good God is and to

  288. leave with those kind of words. And so we're going to jump into

  289. our Bibles. We're going to be in Romans

    Romans 8 chapter mention

  290. chapter 8. I want you to give you a big

  291. view of the resurrection power of Jesus and our vision of

  292. heaven. What is that?

  293. I'm hearing something. Maybe it's just me.

  294. I thought Siri was talking to me.

  295. Romans 8, verse 18. This is Paul talking and it's

    Romans 8:18

  296. going to seem a little try at the beginning, but we're going

  297. to get there. He said.

  298. I consider that our present suffering that are earthly

  299. suffering, that all the pain we walk through, he says, are not

  300. worth what comparing with the glory that were revealed in US.

  301. And Paul, if we taught us before, he'd actually been to

  302. heaven, as he was with Jesus, Jesus brought him to heaven.

  303. And so Paul knew like what we're going through now is like a

  304. light affliction and it's a burden.

  305. And he's like, this isn't worth comparing.

  306. If you spent one minute in heaven or one second in heaven,

  307. if you knew what that was really like and the glory that's been

  308. revealed in us, we wouldn't be so worried about the pain and

  309. suffering here on earth. And this is where Paul comes

  310. from. And my encouragement for you is

  311. to, to get this vision of heaven and what could be like.

  312. And so I've been reading this book.

  313. There's a buddy of mine, he he he mentioned it by John Burke,

  314. imagine heaven. And he talks about near, near

  315. death experiences and people have spent time who have passed

  316. away and come back and they're, they're like, they're asking

  317. from their body. They don't really know they're

  318. dead. They see their body like whoa.

  319. And they feel this overwhelming presence of God.

  320. They see this light. And for those who come back,

  321. there's a voice that tells them it's not your time.

  322. And they go back in their body. Is that crazy?

  323. Am I crazy? I'm just telling you like this,

  324. this is y'all look at me like, dude, what's going on?

  325. Dude, read the book. Amen.

  326. He's got all these stories of Christians that have like lost

  327. their life and give them back to them.

  328. And there's this presence of God.

  329. And and what you see is the overwhelming presence and joy of

  330. heaven that awaits us. And we look at our temporary

  331. life and we think this is it. And So what Paul is saying of

  332. all the courage that he can muster, and I remember he's 8

  333. chapters in. OK, so we're just picking this

  334. out. But since I consider our present

  335. suffering are not worth comparing with the glory that

  336. revealed in us that what's happening right now is so minute

  337. compared to the glory you can experience in heaven.

  338. Verse 19 says for the creation. And he's going to make an

  339. argument here, OK, He says, for the creation waits in what eager

  340. expectation for the children of God to be revealed.

  341. So he's not talking about us. He's talking about the creation

  342. itself, the stars, the nebula, chromosomes, like every piece of

  343. the universe is waiting with expectation for the resurrection

  344. power of Jesus, for the children of God to be revealed.

  345. And what he's talking about is us and our resurrection.

  346. So mountains and atoms and trees and animals are waiting for

  347. this. Verse 20 says for the creation

  348. was what subjected to frustration.

  349. Man, that sounds like a good definition of life, right?

  350. Subjected to frustration. You think about when when Adam

  351. fell, it's it's as Adam went, creation went.

  352. And when humanity fell, God cursed the ground that Adam came

  353. from. Adam was made from dust, and so

  354. God cursed the dust and he cursed the creation itself.

  355. And it wasn't its choice, right? Like creation itself didn't sin,

  356. It was the creation of the creation that sinned.

  357. It was us. And so it's not but its own

  358. choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, that the

  359. earth or the creation itself was cursed by God.

  360. But listen in hope. There's a reason that the

  361. creation itself will be what liberated from its bondage to

  362. decay. Like the creation knows that it

  363. is a slave and it's in bondage, it's under curse and it's dying

  364. and it wants to be resurrected and made whole.

  365. And the creation knows this is true.

  366. Creation is groaning and is expecting the resurrection power

  367. to fix what is broken. It says and brought into listen,

  368. this is pretty amazing, the freedom and the glory of the

  369. children of God. How many of you guys knew that

  370. the creation itself is actually looking forward to the

  371. resurrection power of Jesus. It is looking forward to being

  372. brought back to whole to to be perfected where there's no dying

  373. and decay and it's looking to not just its own future.

  374. It knows a timeline is set with us.

  375. The creation and the animals and the trees and the wind and the

  376. universe and the stars and the Galaxy are looking to us for

  377. their freedom. You're looking for us in our

  378. redemption to the glory of the children of God.

  379. And so when you think about the gospel and you read the Bible,

  380. the gospel is not just good news for us, it's good news for all

  381. creation. It's not just freedom for us.

  382. It's freedom for all creation. That's the same resurrection

  383. power that saves us is the same resurrection power that's going

  384. to resurrect our bodies is the same resurrection power that's

  385. going to resurrect the earth in creation.

  386. Amen. This is like a whole nother

  387. level. How many guys are right now

  388. going, OK, where's this guy doing?

  389. Because we don't think about this very often.

  390. We don't understand like how deep the gospel really goes.

  391. Verse 22 says this. We know this is Paul talking

  392. that the whole creation, we talk about every atom, every

  393. particle, every star, all the black matter.

  394. It has been groaning, as in the pains of childbirth right up to

  395. the present time. To think about creation actually

  396. in pain. To think about hurricanes and

  397. tornadoes and floods and the brokenness end up creationist

  398. crying out in pain as of childbirth.

  399. Now you think about childbirth pain, right?

  400. Like I can't speak on a whole lot.

  401. I'm totally under qualified. Amen.

  402. But I've never yet met a mom that said it wasn't worth it.

  403. Like my kid was born but the pain was too great.

  404. I wish I'd never had kids. And I'm not trying to minimize

  405. the pain, Amen. I'm just trying to maximize the

  406. prize. Like there's something being

  407. born out of life. Like life is birthing life.

  408. And there's an expectation that there's something greater to

  409. come. And so these pains are not

  410. without hope. Amen.

  411. And so you see like the hardship that happens to you and the it's

  412. just the stories are so crazy. Like as a pastor, like I hear

  413. like. Things you should never know, in

  414. the brokenness you should never see.

  415. And I've got to give a hope and an answer to reason.

  416. And all I can tell you is there's a curse on the earth

  417. that has broken everything and it's so deep and it's so

  418. entrenched, but we're longing with great expectation for a

  419. hope of the resurrection power, Christ, Amen.

  420. But if your hope is here and now, you're going to be

  421. miserable. Some of y'all posts like that,

  422. Amen. Some of y'all like have posted

  423. as if heaven is even real. Like we're, we're hope is like,

  424. well, the dream must happen now, brother, you're under the curse.

  425. The dream happens later, Amen. And so we look around at our

  426. family and the situations we want to fix it.

  427. But here's the thing, if God is so patient to let all this junk,

  428. and you can feel a lot of words in there happen right now, how

  429. much must you truly love us to be patiently enduring?

  430. Because He knows one day there's a resurrection power coming and

  431. everything's going to be fixed. Amen.

  432. That there's a plan behind the pain and we miss it so often.

  433. And so when even the creation groans, it doesn't groan in

  434. dreadful pain like in this bitter jaded pain.

  435. It groans with expectation of hope.

  436. Even creation knows that, and you think about us as humans who

  437. should know scripture, who were created in the image of God.

  438. When we grown, do we groan with expectation or do grown as

  439. bitter as hell? Because a lot of us just grown

  440. and we look out and we're so jaded and so bitter.

  441. We stopped talking to people. We stopped going to church

  442. because we've been hurt by somebody, which I'm not

  443. minimizing because some people have been hurt so bad.

  444. So I don't blame you, but we should never blame God.

  445. And we have a really good night giving up on people because

  446. that's what Satan wants us to do.

  447. And we play right in the cards because our hope is found here

  448. and now and not there and then. And we got to set our

  449. expectation and our hope in heaven with great expectation,

  450. with liberation and freedom, that there's a far better world

  451. being born and it's coming through us.

  452. Even creation, though, is not defeated.

  453. Creation knows that the best days are ahead of it.

  454. We can't forget that either, Amen.

  455. Creation knows this is not as good as it gets.

  456. Creation knows this isn't fair or fun.

  457. Amen. That there's real pain and real

  458. hurt, but it's like a childbirth.

  459. Leave verse 23 so not only mentions creation, Paul's

  460. saying, hey, if this light affliction or this momentary

  461. pain is not to be compared with the glory to come in heaven, he

  462. says, look, even creation understands this.

  463. He makes a huge argument and he turns the corner and he's going

  464. to talk about us In verse 23. He says not only so, not just

  465. creation, but we ourselves, we should know this.

  466. We have the first fruits of the spirit, and what Paul's talking

  467. about is in that generation, this is all first generation

  468. Christians. They're the first ones born by

  469. the resurrection power of God. And the way you know that is

  470. because the Spirit of God has come into us and has made us

  471. alive to God. Our spirit is resurrected.

  472. There's a party that's already made complete.

  473. Amen. That's the soul.

  474. That's your spirit. When you called on Jesus, that

  475. party was made right with God. But there's this body.

  476. Come on, somebody that's broken and decay is still under the

  477. curse. And so he says we're the first

  478. of the Spirit and says the spirit groans inwardly as we

  479. wait. How eagerly, man, are you guys

  480. excited for heaven? You're excited for the

  481. resurrection power Christ? Are you excited for the day when

  482. there's no sin, there's no pain, there's no evil?

  483. We don't have to lock a door, look over your shoulder.

  484. You don't have to vote for somebody because we have a king

  485. already. You excited for that day?

  486. Would all make sense. Like we don't have to suffer and

  487. have anxiety and worry about medication.

  488. We don't have to go to the doctor.

  489. Hallelujah. Praise God.

  490. No vascular surgeons. Amen.

  491. He's over there. He's like, what am I going to do

  492. in heaven? Oh, man, I'm waiting to see what

  493. God puts you. Yeah, he's going to pour gold.

  494. That's pretty good. But we wait eagerly for our

  495. adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.

  496. We are sons of God now. But think about this and and,

  497. and there's, there's two parts that we waiting for the adoption

  498. of sonship. What he's saying is it's not

  499. complete yet. OK, so like in the Roman

  500. culture, you, you are legally adopted because of paperwork.

  501. So the paperwork's gone through the the judge has taken the

  502. gavel and said you're adopted as Christians, we, we have what we

  503. call justification. It's just as if you'd ever

  504. sinned. It's a judicial term.

  505. And when Christ died for you and you believed in Jesus, he took

  506. all those righteous and gave it to you and took all of your

  507. wrongs and took it on himself. And he went to electric chair

  508. for you and he paid your penalty, he paid your hell, he

  509. sets you free. And because of that, they've,

  510. you're declared righteous, Amen. So you're adopted into the

  511. family of God, but you are not complete yet.

  512. You're not brought home, Amen. There's a part of you when

  513. you're baptized, and it's not because you're baptized, but

  514. it's a picture when you're baptized.

  515. Maybe you're resurrected and newness of life out of the

  516. water. You don't, you know that That's

  517. your soul and your spirit. It's a picture what God did in

  518. your soul and spirit. That part is made right with

  519. God, Amen. But this body, as sexy as it

  520. looks, come on somebody, right? It's still under the curse.

  521. It's a dust that came from a dust that shall return, that

  522. there's still evil and brokenness that's in this body.

  523. They say that Jesus lives in your heart, but grandpa lives in

  524. your bones, Amen. I mean, it is true.

  525. Like you just go back to like your sin nature and you wonder

  526. like, why am I keep messing up? Why am I not good enough?

  527. Why did this happen? Why is evil things?

  528. Because we're under the curse, Amen.

  529. And we're longing for the spirit inside is longing for and

  530. creation for us to be fully adopted into the sonship under

  531. God. And it look and it happens when

  532. the redemption of our bodies happens.

  533. So one day your soul is already made whole, right when you came

  534. to Christ. But one day your body is getting

  535. made whole tooth of the resurrection power of Christ and

  536. they're going to come together. And that moment, that's when the

  537. perfection happens. Amen.

  538. So we eagerly wait for that moment because we're halfway

  539. there. It's feel like I'm singing a

  540. song, right? But we get so jaded and we get

  541. so burned out. We look around and our hope is

  542. here and now. Like what's wrong with these

  543. people? What's wrong with that church?

  544. What's wrong with the world? What's wrong with politics?

  545. All this ice, all this Epstein dude, I'm so tired of all you

  546. guys losing your mind, Amen. Like, where is your mind at?

  547. Like, have you read the book? Like heaven is our mind, Amen.

  548. That's the mindset. So we've got to change our

  549. vocabulary. We've got to change what we're

  550. thinking about. Like my dream to be fully

  551. adopted in Christ. Here's the amazing thing about

  552. it, The very fact that you're upset and you feel like there's

  553. injustice because there real isn't.

  554. There's real injustice and there's real pain and there's

  555. real hurt. The fact that you've grown

  556. inside of you for a better life and a better world is actually

  557. proof that you know Jesus, Amen? Like you should not be happy

  558. when you turn on the news. I don't care what channel you

  559. listen to, Amen. There's like good parts and bad

  560. parts. Like you like the Soup Bowl

  561. halftime show, You like Charlie Kirk's halftime show.

  562. They're both got some good things.

  563. They both got some suck things. Amen.

  564. Like, my hope is in the world. Like, I can look at and go, that

  565. part's probably from God, but that's crazy.

  566. That's cool. That's whatever.

  567. But why am I getting bent out of shape?

  568. Like I didn't put my stake down on the Capitol Hill?

  569. Like, I'm not like, oh, make it work for me.

  570. Do I? Do I trust the government to

  571. save my soul? Are you kidding me?

  572. Like do I trust any other person to save my soul?

  573. Is my hope in like my close friends or my buddies or my

  574. workplace or my bank account? The hope is in Jesus.

  575. Amen. It's on Calvary's Hill so you

  576. can't get you lose sigh of that and you lose your witness

  577. because who wants to listen to somebody that has no hope be a

  578. burned out, bitter Christian like me?

  579. Come on, man, like we were salt and light, which means we're

  580. taking heaven and we're preserving on earth.

  581. We're saying there's something better like man, pray for this.

  582. Some of y'all so burned out about ice you're posting all

  583. this stuff. It's like brother, like we we

  584. have you got one vote. Whether you use it this way or

  585. that way, you got one vote. What are we going to do about

  586. it? We pray, Amen.

  587. We trust like our hope is not in anything in the in in the world.

  588. We're round it's in Jesus and if we lose sight of that and if if

  589. we do lose sight of that we're miserable and people know it.

  590. You don't have to even say anything.

  591. We just know verse 24 it says for in this hope next very nice

  592. word in this hope. What's what's this hope the hope

  593. and the resurrection power of Christ, the adoption of sons

  594. that the our bodily resurrection for in this hope we what we're

  595. saved. It's it's not in US hope we are

  596. saved like you don't have to hope one day it's going to work

  597. out like we were saved already when you called on Jesus, you

  598. already put your faith and trust and the hope and the

  599. resurrection power of Jesus Amen.

  600. It was already a done deal signed, sealed and delivered the

  601. finished work of Jesus on the cross.

  602. You put your hope on that he resurrected your spirit and your

  603. soul and now we're just eagerly waiting.

  604. Lord, I know you're not done yet.

  605. So all these problems that happen, it's like, Lord, I know

  606. you're patiently waiting. I'm learning patience as I'm

  607. waiting. I'm just trusting you because

  608. this is so Jack crazy. Like I don't even know where I'm

  609. at right now. But Lord, I'm just trusting you.

  610. Amen. We eagerly await because we are

  611. saved, it says. But hope that is seen is no hope

  612. at all. I mean, if it's already done,

  613. you don't need hope. You don't need hope it works out

  614. if the check cleared we what who hopes or what they've already

  615. have and so our hope is in the resurrection of power of Jesus

  616. and it's 100% guaranteed future result as if it's already

  617. arrived because that's the power of Christ.

  618. It's already done. It tells us how to hope verse 25

  619. but if we hope for what we do not yet have this resurrection

  620. of our body, we wait for it. How what was that patiently?

  621. How many of us have lost our patience?

  622. Amen. Like we might know the most

  623. impatient generations that ever walked the face of the earth and

  624. we have this patience that we're waiting for God's plan to

  625. unfold. And I see this so often as a

  626. pastor. We're like, Hey, I'll just

  627. buddy, but he won't go to church because he got hurt a long time

  628. ago. And I'm like, well, how, how bad

  629. what happened it it just OK, Like I've seen 10,000 times

  630. harder, right? Like it's, it's real easy for us

  631. to give up on people relationships.

  632. We we had our life group launched like the the party we

  633. did. And to be honest, as a pastor, I

  634. was like, man, I don't think I'm really like feeling it with

  635. their group. Like I kind of felt like, well,

  636. I kind of gave up on people a while back, you know, just like

  637. sense of like, I don't know about relationships.

  638. I've been down the road before because you know, you're going

  639. to get hurt. Amen.

  640. How many y'all been hurt before, right?

  641. I don't want any up again. I've been hurt in the past, blah

  642. blah. It's like welcome to fall on

  643. earth, Amen. Like it's going to take some

  644. maturity in your part to, to, to to, to put up with sin to to to

  645. like love covers a multitude of sin.

  646. Like to choose not to be given even and to forgive and some

  647. stuff like really small. We like to make it really big.

  648. It's like these Christians weren't perfect.

  649. I'm like, who told you we were? We're just forgiven, Amen.

  650. We're not better than anybody. We're just forgiven by Christ.

  651. But I see this all the time. We're not we're not patient with

  652. people because we've given up. So we're not going to join a

  653. group. I'm not going to get involved.

  654. I got involved in lap church. So I'm not going to do that.

  655. You know, like can't forgive people.

  656. I mean, politics, patience and politics.

  657. Come on, somebody, right. I'm going to give you a big like

  658. level how this works. If you don't see me posting

  659. about it, then you probably shouldn't post about it.

  660. Because if I'm in a spot as a pastor where I'm going to hook

  661. my wagon to a political party or person or a thing or a policy,

  662. then I'm selling the gospel short.

  663. And so if you're out there and it's like, hey, I can't help

  664. myself, we'll start helping yourself because there are

  665. people who need Jesus more than be Republican or Democrat, Amen.

  666. And so I hooked my wagon to Jesus.

  667. Now there are people on both sides of the line that go to our

  668. church and both people are going to heaven.

  669. Shock face, shocked, all shocked, right?

  670. And we don't have to agree. Like we don't have to agree on

  671. all those other issues. Now there's parts of things that

  672. we can be very passionate about. There's parts of things seen in

  673. Scripture. But I'm not going to go online

  674. and spout my mind off and say agree with me about politics.

  675. We're not even agreeing about heaven.

  676. Like, let's agree about what really matters.

  677. That's my call, that's my action.

  678. So here's the thing, don't rob yourself by placing your hope on

  679. fall on earth. Don't rob your joy by putting

  680. your roots down and acting like this is your home.

  681. Don't put your roots down and say, well, it's got to be a

  682. certain way. It's got to work out.

  683. Like I got to have my family this way, this way, this way.

  684. It just may not work out the way you want it to because we're

  685. still broken. We're still under a curse.

  686. There's endurance, there's brokenness, there's pain.

  687. You get you love and sometimes you you don't get love back.

  688. It just happens. Here's the reality.

  689. If your view of heaven is smaller than your present

  690. suffering on earth, Satan will deconstruct your faith and he'll

  691. put you in his toolbox and then make the most jaded individual

  692. in history. We have to get a way bigger view

  693. of heaven. Amen.

  694. Because of our hope is here and now, we missed the thing

  695. completely. I think we need to change some

  696. of our vocabulary. Like, we need to have some

  697. redemptive vocabulary. Like, we say it this way.

  698. Words make worlds. OK.

  699. So when you say like, oh, there's a natural disaster.

  700. I nodded to it earlier. But the reality is it's really

  701. not a natural disaster. It's an unnatural disaster.

  702. It was actually never made to be that way.

  703. Amen. There's a time and place before

  704. there was tornadoes and there's brokenness and tsunamis that

  705. wipes out hundreds of thousands of people.

  706. There's times and places before rivers flooded.

  707. There was even no rain where these kids weren't swept away

  708. and can't majestic. There were times where the world

  709. was perfect. Amen.

  710. So when you start saying, well, it's a natural, it just

  711. happened. No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

  712. It's not like God is not there. Don't you remember?

  713. God cursed the earth. We got to go back to that, Amen.

  714. Or we say this a lot. I heard this this morning even.

  715. It's so great and we say it all the time.

  716. You say, how you doing, man? Living the dream, living the

  717. dream. And what's the next line?

  718. I don't know who's it is somebody's dream, not my dream.

  719. Who has said that? Somehow your e-mail, your e-mail

  720. line was Sean Petrie Ltd Live in the dream, right?

  721. Like we legit, it's just who we are.

  722. And it's kind of interesting because it's almost like you

  723. kind of expected this was the dream.

  724. And so it's kind of a bitter statement like, well, live in

  725. the dream. You know how it is getting

  726. rolled over, getting kicked in the teeth.

  727. Go and bury right the teeth, you know, and it's like, did you

  728. expect anything different? So, so I would encourage you

  729. instead of saying living the dream as if the dream should

  730. happen now. That's the expectation that's

  731. going to, that's not the right expectation.

  732. It should be dreaming of heaven, dreaming of heaven.

  733. What are you going through? I'm dreaming of heaven.

  734. Because what that's saying is, hey, it's still real rough right

  735. now. Still kind of tough right now.

  736. But guess what? My hope's not in that.

  737. My hope's in something else. Amen.

  738. And so my dream isn't in this moment, in this affliction, in

  739. this temporary world, my dream is actually somewhere else.

  740. My heart is even here. My heart is already there.

  741. Amen. Words make worlds, words make

  742. worlds. And so when you have the

  743. opportunity to say, hey, what's going on?

  744. How you doing today? Dreaming to heaven?

  745. What does that mean? It means like right now it's

  746. kind of kind of a suck ball deal.

  747. I found out some really crazy stuff, my family.

  748. But guess what? My hopes in heaven.

  749. Oh wow, that's crazy. What's that all about?

  750. You just change the world, Amen. Just by changing the words, this

  751. is how amazing it is. This is how far the gospel

  752. stretches. You see this this hope of the

  753. resurrection power even in John 316.

  754. How many guys have John 316 memorized by the way, show hands

  755. all right about to blow your minds.

  756. You all know these I memorized this long time ago, right?

  757. For God so loved the the world that he gave his only son that

  758. whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting

  759. life. For he not send his son into the

  760. world to condemn the but to save the through him.

  761. Right, 16 and 17 right? We memorize this.

  762. I was like, oh, cool. So when you read this, the word

  763. world is really cool. It actually is the word cosmos.

  764. So it it means like all creation, but in the sense that

  765. John's using it, we know it means the habits of the earth

  766. that are humans. We know that when he says gods

  767. of the world, he say he loves all humans in the world.

  768. First, John 22, he's not just our perpetuation only like wrath

  769. bearing sacrifice, but he actually paid the wrath not just

  770. for us, but also the whole world.

  771. Like we we know he's talking about paying the sacrifice, but

  772. we've always put that in the box of humanity alone.

  773. But what John is doing, he's actually nodding, tipping his

  774. hat to all creation. He didn't just die for humans.

  775. He died for every atom and every chromosome and every particle

  776. and every nebula and every black hole.

  777. Everything in creation, heaven and earth, he's going to redeem.

  778. Amen. Have your mind went like this?

  779. We all do the verse, but we never thought about to that

  780. level. And John is nodding his hat to

  781. this. Glory and redemption extends to

  782. cultures and nations and arts and the good works that we make

  783. with our hands that we actually get to take to heaven, which

  784. we'll talk about next week, which is really, really cool.

  785. Well, in with this, and this is pretty mind blowing.

  786. Did you know that Adam and Eve don't actually have proper names

  787. until after the fall? Think about this.

  788. This is crazy. So Adam, his name before the

  789. fall, it means humanity or mankind.

  790. Like you're just human. That's what you are.

  791. You're the creation. You're you're, you're mankind.

  792. And then the fall happens and and Eve is beguiled by Satan and

  793. and says, Hey, Adam, here's the fruit.

  794. And then he eats it, right? And then sin happens.

  795. I'll just read through the curse.

  796. I don't want you to give. I'll show you some stuff here.

  797. But Adam's name actually means ground or dirt or dust.

  798. His his name Adam is actually short for Adam I, which means

  799. ground dirt. Isn't that crazy to think about?

  800. Like God already knew that mankind was already just going

  801. to come. It came from dirt and it's

  802. cursed back to dirt. That's Adam's name.

  803. But think about this. Here is the curse.

  804. This is what happens after ate the fruit of the tree.

  805. Verse 14, Genesis 314. So Lord said to the serpent,

  806. this is Satan himself, right? Because you have done this

  807. cursed. Are you above all livestock and

  808. all wild animals. If you'll crawl on your belly,

  809. you eat dust all day of your life.

  810. We have no idea what what this creature looked like, but now

  811. he's going to crawl on his belly.

  812. Verse 15, This is the first mention of hope.

  813. And I will put enmity or strife between you and The Who, The

  814. woman, she didn't have a name yet, just woman.

  815. OK, so I'll put enemy between you and the woman, in between

  816. your offspring and hers, her children.

  817. And he being the offspring of the woman, will what?

  818. Crush your head. At some point there's going to

  819. be some offspring of this woman who's going to, he's looking at

  820. the serpent at this point and he's going to crush your head,

  821. Amen. He's going to break you and kill

  822. you. It will strike and you will

  823. strike his heel. This is the first mention of

  824. hope. The Bible or scholars called us

  825. the proto being first evangel, which means gospel.

  826. This is the first gospel, Amen. And I'm thankful that Jesus,

  827. when he is cursing humanity, when God cursed humanity, that

  828. he gives us hope right here. He's making a way.

  829. And we know because we have the whole Bible, right, that this is

  830. actually talking about Jesus, that Eve is going to have

  831. offspring. And you're going to Fast forward

  832. 16 generations to Moses and 16 or Abraham, 16 to Moses and 16

  833. to David and 16 to Jesus. And you're going to end up with

  834. Jesus who's going to die on the cross for our sins.

  835. That's the one that crushes the head of Satan.

  836. Verse 16 to the woman. This is God.

  837. He says I will make your pains in childbearing very severe.

  838. Boo. I wonder what was like before

  839. this interesting conversation with painful labor.

  840. You'll give birth to children. You'll desire will be for your

  841. husband and he will rule over you.

  842. Interesting desire. Before that was probably only

  843. for God, but now it's for your husband.

  844. Verse 17 to Adam, he said because you listen to your wife,

  845. not the wife's fault and ate fruit from the tree.

  846. Look at this about which I commanded you, who commanded

  847. Adam, God commanded Adam, you must not eat from it.

  848. He quotes it. You must not eat from this.

  849. So here's the deal. The woman never received a

  850. command directly from God not to eat the fruit.

  851. The woman not knew not to eat the fruit because Adam told her

  852. not to, because God spoke to Adam and Adam spoke to her.

  853. So she was beguiled. But Adam, no, no, no Adam.

  854. Adam willfully disobeyed and that's why the curse comes

  855. through him of sin moved down from the man for all generations

  856. because he knew he saw the face of God, listened to the words of

  857. God and did complete obstacle what God asked him to do.

  858. That's accountability guys. This responsibility is a man.

  859. So he, he commanded them you must not eat from it because,

  860. yeah, it says curse is the ground.

  861. Here it is. Here's creation because of you.

  862. And at that moment all of creation fell through.

  863. Painful toil. You'll eat the food from it all

  864. days of your life, right? How many y'all have to sweat

  865. every day, right? Painful toil.

  866. You'll produce thorns and thistles for you.

  867. You'll eat from the plants of the field by the sweat of your

  868. brow. You'll eat your food until you

  869. return to the ground since from it you were taken for dust you

  870. are and dust you'll return. Adam understood that he was

  871. named after dust. Now this is really cool.

  872. Very next verse, the first thing that humane does, the very first

  873. thing after you're cursed by God from breaking relationship with

  874. him and following this in the very first thing after hearing

  875. this mention of the gospel and this hope that's going to come

  876. in the future, what happens? Adam named his wife Eve because

  877. she would become the mother of all the living.

  878. Isn't that a weird time to name somebody?

  879. You just got chewed out, You just got cursed and he's like,

  880. OK, what? What's going on?

  881. And it may be the very first thing he says because it says he

  882. named his wife. It's a narrative backwards,

  883. right? Like we don't know what he did.

  884. He he may have looked right at his wife because she'd have a

  885. name yet interesting time to name somebody because you

  886. understand, there's no identity before the fall.

  887. There was no me, my selfishness. There's no inward desire for

  888. self. So they don't really even need

  889. names. And so he looks at his wife.

  890. He says Eve, which may be the very first word spoken after the

  891. fall from humanity, and her word means her name.

  892. Eve means life giver, not that she's going to give birth to all

  893. these children, but with the expectation that one of these

  894. children that they're going to give birth to is going to

  895. reverse the curse. And so the very first word

  896. spoken after the fall. And Adam understood this was

  897. pregnant with hope. Amen.

  898. But the very first name given was, guess what?

  899. There's a day coming where it's going to reverse all that we

  900. just broke. It's a nod to the future.

  901. It's a nod to the gospel. It's saying this isn't my hope

  902. isn't found here now. It's found the promise to come

  903. that you just gave to her and that I'm going to live in the

  904. very name Eve. My Eve is solidified the fact

  905. that Adam was actually saved because he's pointing to Jesus.

  906. Amen. It's incredible.

  907. And so you think about this and the most broke, broken moment of

  908. mutiny and despair. There was eager expectation with

  909. a pregnant moment of hope. And he utters out Eve.

  910. You think about our lives. I told you earlier, words make

  911. worlds. Words make worlds.

  912. And when you get a chance to speak, is it pregnant with hope?

  913. Because what Paul was saying, creation itself that has the

  914. pains of childbirth with eager expectation for the day of his

  915. redemption. And not only that, but that

  916. Spirit of God, the first for the spirit who lives in US, is

  917. groaning for our resurrected body, for our redemption.

  918. And we should have eager hope on our lips.

  919. You think your family may be different if your life was a

  920. little full of hope, If the world could see some real hope.

  921. Hey, guess what? Yeah, the world's going crazy.

  922. But guess what, Eve? I believe there's a day coming

  923. where all that just happened, all it is messed up, is going to

  924. be fixed. Amen.

  925. How may y'all do that today? New, isn't it?

  926. It's new, but it's not new. Humanity is built with the

  927. relationship with God. And I'll look at this world as

  928. if it's our hope. We look to God for our hope,

  929. Amen? And so that's what Adam has

  930. done, and that's what we do. It's not a coincidence that the

  931. first two chapters of the Bible are the creation of God and

  932. perfection and God's promise to us so strong.

  933. It's not a coincidence that the last two Bibles are the

  934. recreation of the brokenness with the resurrection power of

  935. Jesus. Our hope is sure, Amen.

  936. When you put our lips, we need to share it.

  937. We need to be bold. If we don't have our hearts

  938. around heaven, brother, get your heart around heaven, Amen.

  939. Because we're so passionate about things that come that this

  940. world cannot distract us and pull us down and get us defeated

  941. and deflated and burned out. And we quit on people and we

  942. quit on our country. We quit on our friends, and we

  943. quit on groups. And it'll cause the whole no,

  944. no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, with eager expectation,

  945. Amen. With Hope even named his wife

  946. Hope, right? It's amazing.

  947. Like one day Hope is coming and Hope it come and it's coming

  948. again. And so, Father, we come before

  949. you, God, help us to be a church full of hope.

  950. We see Romans 8 and we might be distracted, God by things this

  951. world. Our heart may be tossed to and

  952. fro because it's not built on Jesus.

  953. And our hope isn't sure because we haven't locked in to the

  954. gospel and its power. And so help us God, we beg you

  955. God, to give us this kind of boldness and hope that our world

  956. is desperate for. They are dying for people are

  957. trying to find out who they are. They're changing identity and

  958. sexuality and and gender and all this stuff because they don't

  959. know the hope. So God make us people got full

  960. of hope more than even the creation got the we be eagerly

  961. waiting. How many today would say God is

  962. just give me a passion today like I need to grow in my hope,

  963. like my words are creating worlds that don't look like

  964. Jesus. I need to have more hope in my

  965. life and my words and to point people to Jesus.

  966. If that's you and the spirit just moving you, we just raise

  967. your hand eyes, that's me like I'm going to be full of hope

  968. today. Thank you Jesus for moving.

  969. Thank you, Spirit of God for showing us, God that we need to

  970. be full of you, not full of ourselves in this world needs to

  971. come to you. God, We're desperately for you.

  972. We're waiting patiently for you. Lord, I want to pray for one

  973. more group of people and that's those of you that need the hope

  974. of Jesus today. Like we've talked a lot about

  975. heaven, a lot about hope and maybe you're that person that's

  976. walked in. You built your life on sand, you

  977. built it on everything else around you and you've been

  978. trying to find the answer. And today you realize it's

  979. Jesus. That Jesus is hope that he came

  980. and died on a cross for you and exchanged all your rights for

  981. all your wrongs. And you've been made right

  982. today, declared righteous because you believe in the power

  983. of Jesus. The resurrection power of Jesus

  984. still effects our lives today. The Bible says if you call on

  985. Jesus, he will raise you out of your sin.

  986. He will make you whole. He will forgive you and set you

  987. free. He'll liberate you from the

  988. curse and your soul and give you the power of the Spirit of God

  989. in your life. And today if you need a humble

  990. yourself, I'm calling Jesus. I'm not going to make it weirder

  991. anybody call you out or anything.

  992. But if you need Jesus, we just raise your hand in hindsight.

  993. I need Christ today and the resurrection power of Jesus

  994. today. Want to be honest, I see some

  995. hands across the room just need Jesus.

  996. If that's you, I'm gonna lead through a prayer.

  997. The prayer does not save you, but it's just your heart towards

  998. him. Just say, Father God, thanks so

  999. much for sending Jesus. But this story is not made-up.

1000. Lord, I see it, I sense it, I see the hope.

1001. I hear the message of the gospel today.

1002. And so God, I call on you. God is the only one that can

1003. save me from this curse that set me free to liberate me from my

1004. sin. God, I trust you down the cross,

1005. and you rose again the third day.

1006. And I trust that you'll do the same for me and my soul.

1007. And one day you'll do that for my body.

1008. And so God give me your hope. Today I prayed since Jesus name

1009. the church said hey man come on give up.

1010. So give it up for Jesus. Come on, it is well, Amen.
