What is going on, my beloved brothers and sisters in Christ?

This is Evangelist Toby Doctor.

We are back again, and we've been covering the whole chapter of Philippians chapter one.

And the goal is to get through all of the four chapters of Philippians.

Now, I don't know if we're gonna finish Philippians chapter one today because where we're getting ready to go is another controversial topic of many cult religions, and also unfortunately within the body of Christ.

There's a lot of confusion surrounding this.

While most of us do believe in this very thing we're getting ready to talk about that the apostle Paul is going to address in great detail, especially within these next couple of verses.

Um, you know, many do not believe in this.

What we're gonna talk about today is what actually happens when you die.

I know you've seen many videos on it, uh, many takes on it, many using Bible scripture to either prove or try to disprove it.

But we're gonna look at that today.

Not only what happens when you die, do you have an immediate judgment when you die?

Does your soul actually leave your body?

Or is your soul in what many cult religions call soul sleep?

Is there a situation where if you don't get it right on the earth, meaning you've been very disobedient, that there is a middle ground in which God takes you to a temporary holding place for you to prove yourself, to keep yourself out of hell?

Is there such a place?

We're gonna look at all of that.

Is it a figure of speech to actually talk about, to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord?

We hear this many times at funerals.

Is that just a figure of speech?

What is Luke 16?

Is that really just a parable that Jesus is talking about, or is that a real event that actually happened?

We're going to look at all of this and more today.

I'm so excited.

I couldn't wait to get to uh Philippians chapter 1, verse 21.

Philippians 1:21

Because to me, I don't see any plainer that the apostle Paul can be than what he's getting ready to say to us within these next few verses.

But it's unfortunate that many people, and it just shows me that their spiritual eyes are dull, they can't see the truth.

They've been blinded from seeing the truth because, as the Bible tells us, that Satan blinds unbelievers from seeing the truth.

Only God can take the veil off.

Okay?

But we are going to jump into these things today.

I am excited to get into these things and really talk about them and talk about some of the scriptures that many will try to use to validate why they don't believe in certain things when it is concerning this topic of life after death conversation.

So, with that being said, let's go ahead and jump back into the book of Philippians and start at verse 21.

We have now read through verses 1 through 20.

Um, you can catch my videos on that and uh my explanation explanation and commentary on those things, and we talked about a lot of things within those first 20 verses.

Now we are going to jump into some serious, serious, mature topic situations.

Okay, so let's go ahead and do it without further ado.

Let's start at verse 21.

Now, watch this is the apostle Paul kind of battling with wanting to be here on the earth versus wanting to be with the Lord, and he's going to be very uh detailed in what he means by that.

Part of him wants to go be with the Lord, the other part wants to stay.

It is that absent from the body to be present with the Lord.

And I will tell you right now, I do not believe that this is just a figure of speech that the apostle Paul is talking about.

I believe this is what he really believes, and we're going to go to where a man, which I believe was the apostle Paul, says that he was caught up into the third heaven, whether in the body or out of the body, he does not know.

But there was an experience in the third heaven, and that he actually saw and heard things that was forbidden for him to speak.

So let's go ahead and jump right on into it.

Let me give me a drink of water.

I am, of course, using an amplified Bible.

Always try to make sure I state that.

And so that is what I am reading and studying from.

If you want to uh go to Bible Gateway, they have a free version there.

That's up to you.

If you're more comfortable with the Bible that you have, that is perfectly fine.

Uh so let's go ahead and jump into it.

Verse 21 says, For to me, this is the Apostle Paul speaking to the church of St.

Philippi.

Now he is in prison, of course, when he wrote these letters.

This is, of course, one of his letters that he wrote while he was in prison.

And we saw evidence of that uh in the first verses when he talks about his imprisonment.

He mentioned that at least twice within the first 20 verses.

Okay, but regardless of his circumstances, people were still getting saved.

Souls were still being worn within the prison walls, so much so that the power spread to the prison guards who had no fear and was confident and wasn't worried about the consequences that they could shoulder if they were found out doing these things.

They didn't fear death for believing in the gospel and taking a defense for the gospel.

So let's go.

For to me to live, look at this.

One of my favorite verses, y'all, is Christ.

He is my source of joy, my reason to live and to die is gain.

For I will be with him in eternity.

Now, from the first outset, and look at this, it sounds like something that is future for the apostle Paul.

But oh, it don't stop right there.

So let's keep going.

Verse 22.

If however it is to be life here and I am to go on living, this will mean useful and productive service for me.

So I do not know.

Here we go, what to choose if I am given that choice, but I am hard pressed between the two.

I have the desire to leave this world and be with Christ, for that is far, far better.

Verse 24, yet to remain, watch this, y'all, in my body, didn't say my soul to stay here until time for eternity, but to remain in my body indicates a departure, ladies and gentlemen.

Alright, now yet to remain in my body is more necessary and essential for your sake.

Verse 25.

Since I am convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith.

Verse 26, so that your rejoicing for me may overflow in Christ Jesus.

For me may overflow in Christ Jesus through my coming to you again.

Now, the hope was that he would eventually get out of prison.

He would beat the false charges that they had on him for believing in Jesus Christ, and he would be able to visit some of his favorite people again.

Verse 27 only be sure to lead your lives in a manner that will be worthy of the gospel of Christ, meaning living a life that shows evidence that you already have eternal life.

When you get to Jesus in heaven, we're not just all of a sudden going to turn on the switch of righteousness.

We are to live that righteous life right now, proving evidence of already living a life eternal.

Okay?

And this is what he is talking about here: a lifestyle that is lining up with what the gospel is all about.

Okay?

Now, so that whether I do come and see you or remain absent, I will hear about you that you are standing firm in one spirit and one purpose, with one mind, striving side by side, as if in combat for the faith of the gospel.

Now I want to stop right there.

I want to go back to verse 23, where the apostle Paul is having a conflict whether to go, leave his body, and go and be with the Lord in eternity, to be absent from the Lord is to be present, to be present from absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, or it is for him to stay and remain and continue to share the wisdom of the word.

Where he says, Even though I'm hard pressed between the two, I believe it is necessary for me to stay with you for a little while longer.

Okay, but let's go back to verse 23.

It says, But I am hard pressed between the two.

I have the desire to leave this world and be with Christ, for that is far, far better.

Verse 24, yet to remain in my body is more necessary and essential for your sake.

Now let's go to 2 Corinthians chapter, 2 Corinthians chapter 5.

And boy, does this stir up some things?

You know, I heard a guide say that this was just a figure of speech.

That the apostle Paul could not have meant to be literally absent from the body to be present with the Lord.

But ladies and gentlemen, these very words line up with the words that we saw from verses 21 through 24.

So let's go and read them.

Verse 5, chapter 5, 2 Corinthians, verse 1, it says, For we know, now we see for we again in all caps, meaning there's a heavy emphasis is like yelling to the top of your lungs.

For we know that if the earthly tent, our physical body, which is our house, is torn down through death, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Now, the apostle Paul, this is twofold about tent comparisons.

We know that the apostle Paul was a tent maker, so this is one reason why he's using this analogy.

But the apostle Paul is also using the analogy of the tent as a comparison to the tabernacle, which was the tent that Moses then put together for the high priest, specifically brother Aaron, to go in there and make sacrifices.

Now, a lot of sacred things was there, including the ark.

And it was it was at this place where they literally had to tie a rope to Aaron so that he, when he went in there, if he did anything out of sync and he fell dead, nobody could go in there.

So that rope would allow them to drag or pull Aaron out of there without getting themselves into the same situation of death problems that he would face if he did not do everything correctly as the Lord instructed to be done when going in that tent.

But so we see the apostle Paul comparing our physical bodies to a tent.

Okay, and he says that it's our house is torn down through death.

In other words, when we die, we're no longer existing in this world.

Okay, death has now taken us, but death is not the end for us.

All right, now, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Verse 2.

For indeed in this house, watch this, we groan longing to be clothed with our immortal, eternal, celestial dwelling.

Now, we go through a lot of things on this earth, and the apostle Paul definitely went through a lot of suffering.

And like I told you before, there were times where the apostle Paul confessed that he wanted to just give up in despair, that he wanted his life just to be ended.

It got that deep, his suffering got that deep, yet the strength of the Holy Spirit kept him going, gave him reminders of why he was doing what he was doing.

Okay, so our bodies we groan for this longing of immortality, and I'm gonna show you why in a minute.

We're gonna go to Ecclesiastes verses 3, chapter 3, verses 9 through 11, and see what God has done in every human being, which is why we groan, longing for that time of immortality, because it is naturally within us to want to be immortal.

Alright, now, verse 3, so that by putting it on we will not be found naked.

The whole goal is to receive these bodies of immortality, ladies and gentlemen, just as Jesus Christ has tonight, we want to be clothed with immortality, never to have to worry about tasting death again.

But in the meantime, while our bodies are resting in that grave, these tents that the apostle Paul compares it to, we do have a separation.

So let's go.

First for while we are in this tent or our bodies, we groan, being burdened, often weighed down, oppressed.

Not that we want to be unclothed, separated, look at this, y'all, by death from the body, but to be clothed with immortality, ladies and gentlemen, so that what is mortal, the body will be look at this, swallowed up by life after the resurrection.

What are we going to get victory over?

Death and the grave and sin will all be done away with.

Alright, verse 5.

Now he who has made us and prepared us for this very purpose is God who gave us, look at this, the Holy Spirit as a pledge, a guarantee, a down payment on the fulfillment of his promise.

Now, this isn't the only time that the apostle Paul mentions that the Holy Spirit, when he indwells us, is our guarantee, our down payment to the promise, which is that which is eternal life, and not only being in eternal life, but having bodies that are immortal and can no longer die.

Alright, now, verse 6.

So then, being always filled with good courage and confident hope, and knowing that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord.

Verse 7, for we walk by faith, meaning we have to believe all of this by faith.

We haven't really witnessed people.

You got people saying that they've gone to heaven and they've gone to hell and they've came back.

But how true could that actually be?

You gotta be careful when you're listening to some of these stories that people are putting out there.

A lot of people putting it out there as clickbait.

Did they really go to hell?

Did they really go to heaven?

Well, I know one man that says he did, and it's in the word that he did.

Whether in the body or not in the body, he does not know.

But he had the heavenly experience, but was forbidden, ladies and gentlemen, to speak of the things that he had heard or seen.

All right, for we walk by faith, not by sight, living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God's promises.

We walk in obedience, which is a representation of eternal life.

Alright, now, verse 8.

We are, as I was saying, of good courage and confident hope.

Watch this, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.

Verse 9, therefore, whether we are at home on earth or away from home and with him, it is our constant ambition to be pleasing to him.

For we believers will be called to account and must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ.

Now, this is not the second throne, the great white throne.

This Bima seat is the place not of the judgment you might think.

This is for rewards or no rewards, depending on what you did in this body when you were in it, you will be judged, whether good or bad.

Alright?

But this is what the apostle Paul is talking about.

For we believers will be called to account and must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one of each one may be repaid for what has been done in the body, whether good or bad, that is, each will be held responsible for his actions, purposes, goals, motives, the use or misuse of his time, opportunities, and abilities.

Ladies and gentlemen, the apostle Paul makes it clear that there is a departure.

Now I know a lot of people subscribe to soul sleeping where you don't go nowhere.

And I'm gonna show you scriptures that they try to use to validate that.

But if we look at those scriptures deeply and use our common sense, we will know that those scriptures do not mean anything close to soul sleeping.

But matter of fact, before we keep moving on, let's go to Hebrews chapter 9.

Hebrews 9 · chapter mention

Let's go to Hebrew chapter 9.

This is a literal depart departing from your body.

The apostle Paul, if it wasn't, he wouldn't have said that part of me wants to leave this body and be with the Lord, but part of me wants to stay here in this body because it's necessary for you.

Alright, so let's go to Hebrews chapter 9.

I want to look at, I believe, verse 27.

Verse 27, watch what it says here.

Concerning quick judgment.

Verse 27 it says, and just as it is appointed and destined for, look at this, all men to die.

Why?

Because of what Adam did, he brought sin and death on the world.

Romans chapter 5, verse 12.

Romans 5:12

Alright.

So, because all men are destined to die, watch this.

After that death, once, and after this comes certain judgment.

Now, Lord, a lot of people don't like Luke 16 and will chalk that up to just a straight parable that Jesus is talking about.

But Jesus is using literal names, Abraham being one of them.

That the poor man went when he was taken by the angels to the place of comfort, which was paradise, which wasn't heaven at that time.

Because nobody could go to heaven yet until the blood was shed from Jesus Christ to make us eligible to go to heaven.

Now we can.

Now when we die, we don't have to go down into paradise.

And we're going to look at that.

That's why I said we probably are not going to get any further than these first verses that we just looked at from 21 to 27.

Alright, we're almost done though.

But I feel like we need to stay here for a little bit longer because too many people are trying to justify that there's no life after death.

And this Bible does not teach that.

The Apostle Paul continues to make reference of being absent from the body and being present with the Lord, meaning our soul does depart.

And I'm going to show you when we get to Job 14.

It blew my mind when I saw this.

That whole chapter talks about death in great detail.

But there's one specific thing that he talks about that really caught my mind.

Okay, and we're going to go to that as soon as we get a chance.

But die once, and it's immediate judgment, ladies and gentlemen.

I know people don't want to believe that, but your destination has already been determined the moment you close those eyes.

Which dispels the notion of if you don't get it right on earth, there's a temporary holding place to prove yourself.

No.

Now these cult religions that write that in their own Bibles because they know what this Bible says that if you write, add or take away anything, you will be cursed with a curse.

And you will be taken out of the book of life.

That's automatic.

So let that sink in for a minute.

Now Let's get on over here.

And I want to go to Job 14.

I want to jump on in there before I even get to Luke 16.

Let's just get on right on to it.

I'm not even going to play around with it.

Now, like I told you, that whole this whole chapter talks about death in great detail.

I'm charging you to go, challenging you in your free time to go and read that whole chapter.

Read that whole chapter.

But there is something in verse 22 that really caught my eye.

I want y'all to really turn on your spiritual ears for a minute and really, I hope you catch this.

Because it was mind-blowing.

So let's go to it.

Alright.

Watch what it says here.

I'm gonna go to let's go to 20 first and then we'll we'll finish off in 22.

Now this is course, now you know Job, he's going through it at this time.

Bodies hit with sickness, close to death.

He don't lost his children.

His wife wants him to go ahead and curse God and get it over with.

But in all it is, his friends uh thinking they're speaking wisdom, but they ain't doing nothing speaking foolishness.

Only one dude, the Bible says, he waited patiently to get his turn.

And I think he had like five chapters where he spoke nothing but wisdom, and God was in straight up agreement with him, and he confirmed it.

That out of every audio, y'all all your foolish friends, this one person right here was the only one talking God since.

And he was a young man.

Alright, but now let's get to it.

Verse 20, Job 14.

Watch what it says here.

You prevail forever against him and overpower him, and he passes on.

You change his appearance and send him away from the presence of the living.

Now, this is of course talking about death.

Okay, what happens in death?

You'll send away from the presence of the living, you're no longer alive anymore.

And we're gonna talk about Ecclesiastes chapter 9 because there's a verses in there that they try to use to acclaim soul sleep.

Ecclesiastes 9 · chapter mention

That's not even what it's talking about.

Watch this.

His sons achieve honor and he does not know it.

Now he's talking very similarly to how the dead know nothing.

Once you have been detached from this world, you have no more concerns about what's going on here.

So as his son is reaping rewards on earth, he knows nothing about it because he's not at that event.

He's dead.

It's no longer a concern to him to be at that event because he can't get that no way.

So let's keep going.

Watch this, they become insignificant, see that, and he is not aware of it.

We're gonna come back to that in a minute when we go to Ecclesiastes chapter 9.

But watch this, verse 22.

For all those who are claim to inscribe to soul sleep.

Watch this, but his body lamenting its decay, eventually, at some point, ash ashes you came, from dust you came, dust you will go back to.

That was one of the curses that Adam was given, and not only to him, but to all mankind, because of what he did, he stripped away our ability to live immortal lives.

Alright.

Verse 22, but his body lamenting its decay.

Watch this, grieves in pain over it, and his soul mourns over the loss of somebody else.

No, mourns over the loss of himself.

Ladies and gentlemen, if we are soul sleeping, then our soul will not be able to mourn over the loss of himself unless you are able to witness yourself dead when you depart from your body.

And ladies and gentlemen, this is exactly what that is talking about.

Your soul, when the moment you depart and you are looking down at your own body, you're mourning over the loss of that body.

Why?

Because that is a part of you, you are a three-part being: soul, body, and spirit.

1 Thessalonians chapter 5, verse 23.

1 Thessalonians 5:23

And to lose any part of yourself will make you mourn.

There's no way possible you can be soul sleeping and mourning over your own body with your own soul.

It's not possible.

And this is what Job is talking about here.

I knew a guy who was a friend of mine, and this is why I believe this because of this right here.

He died.

Say he was a kid, he was playing with the sockets, and he stuck something in the socket, and it shocked him to death.

Say he came out of his body and literally was looking over his body and saw people trying to revive him.

And see, this is why I believe it, because of what Job just said here in verse 22.

The soul looking at himself and mourning over the loss of himself.

Now let's go to Ecclesiastes chapter 9 because the same similar language here, where these events are happening and the dead know nothing about it or are not aware, is exactly what Ecclesiastes chapter 9 is talking about with these specific verses that people try to use to subscribe or get you to subscribe to Soul Sleeping.

Alright.

Watch what it says here.

Now, what he's saying is there is no advantage from the righteous to the wicked as far as death goes, because we all die at some point.

No advantage there.

Okay?

We all gotta die at some point.

It is the same for all.

There is one fate for the righteous and for the wicked, for the good, for the clean, and for the unclean.

For the man who offers sacrifices, and for the one who does not sacrifice, doesn't matter.

Cause at the end of the day, we're all going to end up at the same place, in the grave or cremation, whichever one comes first.

As the good man is, so is the sinner.

As he who swears an oath is, so is he who is afraid to swear an oath.

Verse 3 This evil is in all that is done under the sun.

That one fate comes to all.

Also, the hearts of the sons of men are full of evil, and madness is in their hearts while they live, and afterward they go to the dead.

Now, let's keep going because we're going to get to these scriptures they try to use to acclaim soul sleeping.

There is no exemption, but whoever is joined with all the living has hope.

Surely a living dog is better than a dead lion.

For the living, watch this, know that they will die, but the dead, same similar language that was in Job chapter 14, verses 20 through 22.

How that person's son was being honored, and they were not aware of it because they're dead.

They have been attached from the world, they have no concerns anymore of the world and what the world is doing.

Okay, so for the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing, and they no longer have a reward here, for the memory of them is forgotten.

Ladies and gentlemen, the dead don't know nothing.

If you had bills when you were here and you die, you no longer will have concern for those bills.

Whatever relationship you was in when you was here, once you die, there's no longer any connection with that relationship.

And this is what he means.

The dead know nothing.

You have been detached from all worldly affairs at this point.

Alright, so now let's go to because here's another one that that tickles me.

Let's go to Ezekiel chapter 18.

And look at verses 1 through 4.

Cause here's another one that they try to get you with.

Soul can't leave the body because soul dies, just like the body does.

Well, let's see if it means that.

Let's go.

Ezekiel chapter 18, and it reads, The word of the Lord came to me again, saying, What do you mean by using this proverb concerning the land of Israel?

Ezekiel 18 · chapter mention

The fathers eat sour grapes, they sin, but the children's teeth are set on edge.

As I live, says the Lord God, you are certainly not going to be used to use this proverb as an excuse in Israel anymore.

Behold, pay close attention.

Watch this, all souls are mine.

The soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is mine, the soul who sins will die.

First, verse 5.

But if a righteous, but if a man is righteous, keeps the law and practices justice and righteousness, and does not eat at the pagan shrines on the mountain, or raise raise his eyes to the idol of the house of Israel, or defile his neighbor's wife, or approach a woman during her monthly time of purity, if a man does not oppress anyone, but restores to the debtor his pledge, does not commit robbery, but gives his bread to the hungry, and covers the naked with clothing, if he does not charge interest or take a percentage of increase on what he lends in compassion, if he keeps his hand from sin and executes true justice between a man and man, if he walks in my statues and keeps my ordinances so as to act with integrity, then he is truly righteous and shall certainly live, says the Lord God.

Ladies and gentlemen, of course the Bible would say the soul that sins shall die.

What is the wages of sin, ladies and gentlemen?

The wages of sin is death.

When the soul dies, what he's talking about is an eternal separation from God.

This is the reason why, after those verses, God tells us, but if a man does this, if he walks in this, if he does that, then he is considered truly righteous in the Lord, and he shall live.

That's all it means.

The soul dies because of eternal separation from God because of disobedience.

So if you remain an unbeliever when you die, your soul is going to be eternally separated.

Now, all you are waiting on is the final judgment and giving a body fit for an eternal lake of fire, punishment, ladies and gentlemen, and that's all that means.

And I just wanted to state that out there because too many people, especially in the body of Christ, we should not be shaky when it comes to our destination and where we are to go in the Lord.

Alright?

Now, let's get over here.

I believe in 1st or 2 Corinthians.

So let me go there first.

Yeah, so let's go here.

Now, this is a whole teaching within itself.

At why certain things were happening to the apostle Paul when he talks about the thorn in his flesh.

So we're not gonna jump into that.

But I want to show you in these first few verses.

Watch this.

2 Corinthians chapter 12, let's start at verse 1.

It is necessary to boast, though nothing is gained by it.

But I will go on to visions and revelations of the Lord.

Verse 2, I knew a man in Christ who 14 years ago, whether in the body I do not know, or out of the body, I do not know.

Only God knows.

Such a man, watch this, was caught up to the third heaven.

And I know that such a man, which is him, talking about himself, whether in the body or out of the body, I do not know.

Only God knows.

Watch this, was caught up into paradise and heard inexpressible words, which man is not permitted to speak words too sacred to tell.

Paul was caught up to the third heaven.

Whether in the body or out of body, he does not know.

But it felt definitely real.

And he heard things that were not permissible to speak.

This is why I'm ever so careful when I hear people talking a lot of heaven stories.

This is why I'm ever so careful when I'm listening to people talking about hell stories.

Because if this man was forbidden from saying certain things that he heard in heaven, what makes you think you're more special than he is?

And you didn't write anything in here, such as he was given permission to do.

This is how we lay on the foundation and our building stand strong, is when we get into these epistles that the apostle Paul was given by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Alright, now let's get on over here.

And we're gonna end it with Luke chapter 16.

And the only way people can justify this is that they have to use other scriptures to try to validate that this is not a real story.

I don't believe that one did.

It's an actual event that actually happened, and Jesus is talking about the account of it.

Ladies and gentlemen.

So let's go.

That's where I want to go.

Verse 19.

Let's start at verse 19.

Verse 19.

Watch what it says here.

Now there was a certain rich man who was habitually dressed in expensive purple and fine linen and celebrated and lived joyously in splendor every day.

And a poor man named Lazarus was laid at his gate, covered with sores.

He eagerly longed to eat the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table.

Besides, even the dogs were coming and licking his swords.

Now it happened that the poor man died, and his spirit, what or soul was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom.

Now Abraham, we know is a real person.

We knew him first as Abram.

But now he's been carried off to Abraham's bosom.

What's the Amplified Bible tell you what that means?

Paradise.

Because paradise at this time, ladies and gentlemen, we're about to find out where it was before.

Now we have been given the right because of Jesus Christ's blood shed to go up in the heaven and not go down into paradise.

Alright, now it says 24, and he cried out, Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus so that he may dip.

Watch this, y'all.

He may dip the tip of hold on a second.

Let me make sure I'm all right.

Now let's go.

Let me go back to 22.

Now it happened that the poor man died, and his spirit was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom, paradise.

And the rich man also died and was buried.

Now watch two different experiences.

One is experiencing in paradise, which was up above hell or Hades at this time, and the other one is experiencing great suffering and agony.

That's the rich man.

So he says, as the rich man is in Hades, verse 23, the realm of the dead being in torment.

See this?

He looked up and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom in paradise.

So he was able to look literally up and see paradise.

But because of a gulf there, he was not able to cross over it.

Now watch this.

This conversation continues.

He cried out, asking Lazarus to so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in severe agony in this flame.

Now he gives us the experience of telling us that all his senses could feel what was happening, even though he can look and see his body laying in the grave.

The senses are in the soul, ladies and gentlemen, and his his soul was filling it.

He said, But Abraham said, Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, all the comforts and delights, and Lazarus likewise, bad things, all the discomforts and distresses.

But now he is comforted here in paradise while you are in severe agony.

And besides all this, between us and you, watch this people, a great, so there's many other people that Abraham will see down there.

There's a great chisholm has been fixed, so that those who want to come over from here to you will not be able to, and none may cross over from there to us.

Watch the rich man.

So the rich man said, Then, Father Abraham, I beg you to send Lazarus to my father's house, for I have five brothers, in order that he may solemnly warn them and witness to them, so that they too will not come to this place of torment.

Watch what Abraham says.

But Abraham said, They have the scriptures given by Moses and the writings of the prophets.

Let them listen to them.

He replied, No father Abraham, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent, they will change their own way of thinking and seek God and his righteousness.

And he said to him, If they do not listen to the messages of Moses and the prophets, they will not be persuaded, even if someone rises from the dead.

Now, as much as people try to make this just a parable story that Jesus is telling, I don't believe it one bit.

We've already seen the apostle Paul tell us to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

That's not a figure of speech.

Then the Apostle Paul comes back and confirms that in Philippians chapter 1, verses 21 through 24, which we were, which we are currently reading out of.

No way we would just say that, just to be saying it.

He believed that once that head was cut off and he did get martyred for his believing Jesus Christ, that ended his life.

That immediately he was gonna be in the presence of the Lord.

Now we're gonna stop right there and we'll come back and we'll finish up in Philippians chapter 1, and we'll probably end up starting some of chapter 2.
