What is going on, my brothers and sisters in Christ?
-
This is Evangelist Toby Dalton.
-
I am back again.
-
Now, I know y'all see me wear a lot of Falcon stuff lately.
-
Uh, and I will say the first thing is that by no way are uh what my thoughts are or opinions are under the expressed opinions of the Atlanta Falcons.
-
I should have been saying that.
-
I just want to make sure that I let that be known.
-
So what I'm thinking and how I study this Bible and what I say about this Bible, um, they are not under the expressed opinion of.
-
There may be some there that do believe in Jesus in the way that I do and love this Bible the way that I do, but I want to make sure that I separate myself from that any wordings that I use uh according to this Bible.
-
Speaking of this Bible, man, I'm excited about this today.
-
I've been teaching from the book of Philippians, but I'm gonna have to fast forward a little bit.
-
Normally I love to read whole chapters.
-
Uh many of you that have been rocking with me so far, you know this, you are aware of this.
-
Uh, and I am going to go back over this again, but that's okay.
-
Even the Apostle Paul said to the uh churches and Philippi that it is okay for me to repeat myself.
-
And uh I know some people don't adhere to that, they don't like people repeating themselves over and over again, but I tell you what, it is no bad thing to repeat yourself, especially the word of God.
-
So you're gonna hear this again as we're teaching the book of Philippians, but I'm gonna have to fast forward a little bit because when I saw this, this really got me excited.
-
Now, Book of Philippians, uh, we're gonna be coming from chapter four, but I do want to go to back to chapter two.
-
I've talked this a little bit, uh, we're not done with chapter two yet, but we've already gone over this part in chapter two at the very first, you know, three verses or so when when uh the apostle Paul talks about this similar thing that he's talking about in chapter four that I want to get into ultimately.
-
Man, this Bible is such so amazing, it is so amazing.
-
Uh, I'm getting ready to go back through the five gospels.
-
I call them all, I called even the book of Acts as an extension of the four gospels, you know, Mark, Luke, John, and and Matthew, because I do heavily believe in that, and some scholars do consider the book of Acts as an extension as well.
-
And I'm one of them, not a scholar, of course.
-
You know, I just enjoy with the Holy Spirit spending time with him and studying this Bible.
-
But man, this Bible is amazing because when you're really studying this Bible like this, man, it's making me smile right now.
-
You get these examples, man.
-
I mean, you you you see these examples that you don't think about until the Holy Spirit reveals it to you, and and it just pops off uh the book, man, pops out of the book, and it's just amazing to think about.
-
But we're gonna talk about today's subject the power of thought and your faith working together to see and believe in the unseen.
-
One of the things about uh the book of Hebrews, and it talks about, I believe, in Hebrews chapter 11, verses 1 through 2, um, that the faith is the substance of all things, hopefully, and the evidence of all things not yet seen.
-
Now, in your Amplified Bible, it goes a little bit more deeper in that talks about in relation to your faith being uh the title deed between the connection of you being able to see the unseen before the unseen becomes uh a real thing in your life.
-
Okay, and uh this is what we're gonna kind of jump on today as we talk about how to really tap in.
-
You have a lot of people that's preaching about uh seeing into the spirit realm and and and seeing the unseen.
-
And the apostle Paul talks about it many times of believing in those things that are not temporal, because that's exactly what they are.
-
They're temporal, they're temporary things that will fade away over time.
-
But making more of an investment in the things that you can't see, the things that hasn't happened yet, like for instance, eternal life, uh like for instance, having bodies of everlasting glory that don't die.
-
Okay, those are things that you don't feel just yet, and you haven't gotten there, but you believe it by faith because of the word of God.
-
But without further ado, let's jump on into it.
-
I want to uh get on into, like I said, uh the book of talking about the power of thought lining up in agreement with your faith and getting the results that that move through peace that operates through peace.
-
Okay, uh, because the peace is very important, because the peace is the key to you knowing that you have what you have specifically asked God for according to his will.
-
There's a peace that God gives that transcends time, and we're gonna look at that.
-
We get so much reading and and we get quotes from chapter four, but I don't think we really understand what this peace really does if we use it and operate out of it the right way.
-
So let's go ahead and jump on into it.
-
I want to go to Philippians chapter 2 first, and I want to read the first uh couple of verses here because it's going to tie into what the apostle Paul is gonna come back and use this same preparate prepositional phrase uh of if into chapter 4.
Philippians 2 chapter mention
-
So let's go ahead and jump into it.
-
Man, I'm so excited about this right now.
-
So let's go.
-
Therefore, if there is any encouragement, you're gonna get the same, same type of talk in chapter four, and comfort in who Christ, as there certainly is in abundance, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship that we share in the spirit, the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit unites the body.
-
We are knit together in the body by the Holy Spirit.
-
Okay, it says, if there is any great depth of affection and compassion, watch what the apostle Paul says.
-
If you have all these things working, then watch this.
-
Make my joy complete by being of the what same mind, having the same love toward one another, knit together that word I just used, in spirit, in our human spirit, okay, that comes alive when Christ.
-
That's the first resurrection that we go through, ladies and gentlemen.
-
Once we come into salvation, the Bible says in Ephesians chapter 2 that Jesus now makes us alive.
Ephesians 2 chapter mention
-
Our spirit man is now alive when we were once dead in our transgression.
-
Okay, now, and it's that spirit man that the Holy Spirit communicates with.
-
Alright.
-
So if all of these things are working on our behalf that the apostle Paul just mentioned, okay, then we should number chapter verse 2 make my joy complete by being of the what same mind.
-
We should be operating in the same mind if all of those things previously read are working, having the same love toward one another, knit together in spirit, intent on one purpose and living a life that reflects, watch this, your faith and spreads the gospel, which we became saved by.
-
The good news regarding salvation through faith in Christ.
-
Now, let's get on to chapter four.
-
Let's get on over here to chapter four.
-
And I'm going to read verses.
-
I want to read verses uh, let's see.
-
I want to read verses six, and we are going to finish through eight.
-
Alright?
-
And then we're going to go to Mark chapter five and look at the perfect example of this.
-
I'm telling you, man, when you understand and you learn how to think like this, ladies and gentlemen, you will draw the presence of God every time.
-
Okay?
-
Alright?
-
You're gonna draw the presence of God, which brings his peace in your situation every time.
-
Even though your situation may not have changed yet, you continue thinking and seeing things this way, eventually, change has to come.
-
No ifs, ands, or buts about it.
-
Change has to come because the way you think in this manner.
-
Alright, no, so let's go.
-
We've read this so many times, but I don't think we really understood what this actually meant.
-
And we're gonna see this when we get to Mark chapter 5.
Mark 5 chapter mention
-
And you all know this account or story very well when we get there.
-
Alright, so now, verse 6, chapter 4.
-
Watch what it says.
-
Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything, every circumstance and situation, by prayer and petition, will thanksgiving continue to make your specific request known to God.
-
Now, there is an ingredient to this.
-
Remember, I told you in Hebrews chapter, Hebrews chapter 11, verses 1 through 2, having the title deed, knowing that exactly what you prayed for has happened.
-
Now, here goes the connection to being able to stay in that faith.
-
Okay, so let's go.
-
So it says, be anxious for nothing, but through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, right?
-
Make your request, specific request that is.
-
Now it has to line up with God's word, of course.
-
Verse 7, when you do this, there is something that should be happening after you do it.
-
It says, and the peace of God, that peace which reassures the heart.
-
Similar to Hebrews chapter 11, verses 1 through 2.
-
That peace which, watch this, transcends all understanding.
-
That peace which stands guard over your hearts and your minds in who Christ Jesus is yours.
-
Watch this, ladies and gentlemen.
-
Here goes the keys now to tying your faith in.
-
Think in this way on a daily basis.
-
Watch this.
-
Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by what God's word.
-
So, whatever you are in thought about, it's got to line up with God's word.
-
It can't contradict God's word.
-
Okay, so let's keep going.
-
I'm gonna explain that further in a minute in a minute.
-
It says, uh whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings, guess what, ladies and gentlemen?
-
Peace.
-
That word peace again, whatever is admirable and of good report, repute.
-
Now there are some translations that say good report.
-
I want y'all to keep that in your mind when we get ready to go to Mark chapter 5.
Mark 5 chapter mention
-
Watch this.
-
If there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think, watch this continually on these things, center your mind on them and implant them in your heart.
-
Watch this, ladies and gentlemen.
-
Verse 9.
-
Verse 9.
-
The things what you have learned and received and heard, see this, and seen in me.
-
The apostle Paul, the pattern that he set.
-
Practice these things in what?
-
Daily life.
-
Not just one day, but this form of thanking on a daily basis, ladies and gentlemen.
-
Watch what it's gonna do.
-
And the God who is the source of what?
-
Peace and well-being will be with you, ladies and gentlemen.
-
When you thank alone the guidelines of the things that are pure, on the things that are of good report, on the things that are honorable, ladies and gentlemen, you invite the presence of God who brings his peace to solidify what you have prayed about in your heart.
-
I want y'all to think about that for a minute.
-
When you think along these lines, now, thinking all those things that are good are not just the things of the word of God.
-
While that is should be a main thing, there are plenty of pure thoughts and things that have happened in your life to being thankful for that are innocent and wholesome that you can think about.
-
It could be a trip that you went on with your family and y'all had so much pure fun.
-
You weren't getting into things that you weren't supposed to be getting into, but y'all were having so much fun together.
-
It can be thinking about the good things of someone that has passed on in the Lord and the goodness that they have brought you.
-
It can be any thought that does not contradict the word of God.
-
Now, of course, we know 2 Corinthians chapter 10 that those thoughts that contradict the word of God, we have to tear those things down, those strongholds down, those negative thoughts, we have to tear them down.
2 Corinthians 10 chapter mention
-
But anything that stays in the relation and does not come against the word of God, ladies and gentlemen, you are carefree to think about those things.
-
And ladies and gentlemen, it tells you when you think about those things, guess what it invokes?
-
It brings and draws near the presence of God who brings his peace that surpasses all understanding.
-
You want to learn how to walk in the supernatural abilities of God doing abundantly above anything we can ever ask or think or hope for or dream of according to the power that works within us.
-
That power that's working within us, Lord, ladies and gentlemen, it's the Holy Spirit.
-
And it is that power that makes the presence of Jesus Christ and our lives even stronger so that we can walk in that image of Jesus on a daily basis.
-
Now, let's get over here to Mark.
-
Mark chapter 5.
Mark 5 chapter mention
-
Because I want y'all to remember one of the things that the apostle Paul tells us we can draw off of, and that is things that are of good report.
-
And that good report can be the house that God has blessed you with, and you're still in that home today, even if you don't have that home, but the great memories that it brought, you are allowed to think on those things that stay within the guidelines of how we should be thinking.
-
Alright, now let's go ahead to Mark chapter 5, and I want to go to verse 25.
Mark 5 chapter mention
-
Watch this, y'all.
-
It blew my mind when I saw this.
-
Alright.
-
So many of you know about the account of the woman with the 12 years of the issue of blood, the hemorrhage she was going through.
-
She spent everything she had trying to get healed from this.
-
It was by the miracles of God that she lasted 12 years with this issue.
-
Well, how many of y'all know that in God's appointed time, he says he will make it happen?
-
And ladies and gentlemen, her faith met with the appointed time.
-
Watch this now.
-
Alright, here we go.
-
Verse 25, it says, A woman in the crowd had suffered from a hemorrhage for 12 years.
-
Now, this woman has had this issue of blood, nobody can do nothing about.
-
Okay, and watch what happens, and had endured much suffering at the hands of many physicians.
-
She had spent all that she had and was not helped at all, but instead had become worse.
-
But watch this, watch this.
-
Verse 27.
-
She had heard reports.
-
Now you have an amplified Bible.
-
It says this, it magnifies it for you.
-
About who?
-
Jesus.
-
And she came up behind him in the who?
-
Crowd and touched his outer robe.
-
Ladies and gentlemen, you gotta imagine Jesus now is getting ready to go bring a man's daughter back to life.
-
He wants Jesus to follow him to his home.
-
His daughter has died, and he wants her to come back, wants Jesus to come back to his home to help him.
-
Okay?
-
And so as Jesus is on his way traveling with his man, this woman with the 12 years of the issue of blood, she fights through the crowd.
-
We're about to see what makes her fight through the crowd.
-
Says that she's heard good reports.
-
All these reports by Jesus.
-
And it is because of those reports that lined up with her faith that gave her the will to get through that crowd and touch his garment.
-
And watch this now.
-
Watch what happened.
-
She touches out a robe.
-
Watch what she did.
-
Verse 28.
-
For she, what she did?
-
She thought.
-
Power of thought, ladies and gentlemen.
-
When you stay in those guidelines that the apostle Paul spoke of in verse 8 in chapter 4, she thought, if I just touch his clothing, I will get well.
-
Verse 29.
-
Immediately her flow of blood was dried up, and she felt in her body and knew without any doubt.
-
Meaning, she did not have to go to a doctor to confirm this at all.
-
She just knew it.
-
She knew it was done.
-
That she was healed of her suffering.
-
Watch this, ladies and gentlemen, verse 30.
-
Immediately Jesus, recognizing in himself that power had gone out from him, turned around in the crowd and asked, Who touched my clothes?
-
Verse 31, his disciples said to him, You see the crowd pressing in around you from all sides, and you asked, Who touched me?
-
Still he kept looking around to see the woman who had done it.
-
And the woman thought she was a though she was afraid and trembling, aware of what had happened to her, came and fell down before him and told him the whole truth.
-
Then he said to her, Daughter, your faith, your faith, your personal trust and confidence in me has restored you to health.
-
Go in peace and be permanently healed from your suffering.
-
Meaning she will never have to worry about that issue again.
-
Ladies and gentlemen, she just thought that if she could just touch the hem of his garment, because she heard the good reports.
-
And it was because of those good reports that helped propel her through the crowd and touch him.
-
She thought about the goodness and the peace that came over her from knowing, without a shadow of a doubt, if she touched the hem of his garment, she was going to be healed.
-
She believed in what had not yet happened.
-
Took 12 years.
-
Honorable, worthy of praise.
-
That is the key, ladies and gentlemen, to having that peace that surpasses all understanding to come over you.
-
What you are dealing with may not have come to fruition yet, of God totally reconciling that thing.
-
But the more you continue walking in this way of thought, it's going to happen.
-
You are going to see what you have been praying for happen.
-
And that's what has me so excited.
-
And so I want to go to one last place.
-
Colossians chapter 3.
Colossians 3 chapter mention
-
And I want to look at verse 15.
-
Colossians chapter 3, verse 15.
-
Watch this.
-
Thank you, Holy Spirit.
-
Thank you.
-
Thank you, Holy Spirit.
-
Verse 15, watch what it says here.
-
It says, Let the peace of Christ, the inner calm of one who walks daily, watch this with him.
-
Be the controlling factor in your hearts.
-
Deciding and settling questions that arise to this peace, indeed, you were called as members in one body of believers and be thankful to God always.
-
Ladies and gentlemen, when you are walking in this peace, you invite the presence of God who brings this peace with him, who has given us the Holy Spirit.
-
Anytime you are feeling out of sorts, just begin to thank on the good things of God.
-
Just begin to thank on those good, pure thoughts of joy that you have had, no matter what the situation was, as long as it does not contradict the word of God.
-
And I shouldn't have to say what those other thoughts are.
-
But I guess I will.
-
Man, God bless you.
-
I hope this blessed somebody because it has blessed me when he opened my eyes to it.
-
Thank y'all in the name of Jesus.
-
I'm Evangelist, Toby Doubt it.
-
Peace and blessings.
-
I'm gone.
