  1. Let's read this morning Luke's Gospel 8 chapters look at verse 40

  2. And it came to pass that when Jesus was returned the people gladly received him for they were all waiting for him

  3. Now that right there in itself would would probably be suffice if we were to just

  4. Talk about they were all waiting for him. Amen and behold there came a man named J iris and

  5. He was a ruler of the synagogue and he fell down at Jesus feet and besought him that he would come into his house

  6. For he had one only daughter about 12 years of age and she lay dying

  7. But as he went the people thronged him

  8. and

  9. A woman having an issue of blood 12 years which had spent all her living upon physicians

  10. And neither could be healed of any came behind him and touched the border of his garment and immediately her issue of blood

  11. staunched or stopped

  12. Jesus said who touched me when all denied Peter and they that were with him said

  13. Master the multitude thronged thee and pressed thee and sayest thou who touched me

  14. And Jesus said somebody had touched me for I

  15. perceived that virtue is going out of me and

  16. When the woman saw that she was not hid she came trembling and fell down before him

  17. She declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him and how she had

  18. How she was healed immediately and he said unto her daughter be of good comfort thy faith hath made thee whole go in peace

  19. And while he yet spake there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house saying to him

  20. Thy daughter is dead

  21. Trouble not the master

  22. But when Jesus heard it he answered him saying

  23. fear not

  24. believe only

  25. She shall be made whole

  26. Just a simple thought this morning I'll speak to us on the on the thought of living in the holding pattern

  27. Living in the holding pattern. I don't know what the times over the years

  28. I have preached from this particular passage. It's just so rich just like so many of the others

  29. I think we never exhaust the scripture

  30. I think we could read this again next week and the Lord enlighten us on something else and and we preach totally something different

  31. I know it's multiple times and every time I read it. I think about

  32. J-Iris been in a condition of double jeopardy

  33. With this issue that he's having with his daughter and now the help that was on its way has been delayed has been stopped

  34. And then from that he receives the worst news possible

  35. Your daughter is dead trouble not the master, but I I'm so grateful that the master was already troubled and

  36. He was already in in route if you will

  37. He was already in progress going to meet his need and I'm so grateful that he continued on his way

  38. Amen, but this thought living in the holding pattern father. I love you today. I thank you for your goodness and your mercy

  39. I thank you for your word because it is life to us. It's enrichment to our souls Lord

  40. It's it's the enablement of the tomorrows that we have in our life that we can walk in your word

  41. Or your word is hope help and your word is life

  42. Lord may we that have ears to hear Lord may it penetrate into our?

  43. Situations of life Lord. I know that you've you put this on me. I know you've burdened my heart with it

  44. I know you've stirred me and the unction is here to preach it

  45. And so father I ask that you would touch us today each of us as I am included

  46. Lord touch us today that we may hear and receive of your heart and what the spirit's saying to the church in Christ's name the

  47. church said

  48. Amen, I don't know if you've been aware. There's there's

  49. Seems like sister Kathy and I as we try to watch television

  50. We have we have noticed that I don't know how much dumber commercials can get if that's a

  51. If you're an English teacher, and I just butchered the Kings again. Just forgive me

  52. But I don't know how much dumber

  53. commercials can get

  54. It just baffles my mind. I thought really I mean was that all about you know

  55. But there's one about this new car deal carvana

  56. And

  57. During the commercial they're they're trying to the whole point is she's they're gonna sell their van this man and his wife

  58. They're gonna sell their silver minivan and so she's gonna sell it on carvana

  59. And so they're watching carvana for the best rate and every time he thinks the money's right. She says hold

  60. Huh? Now how many have seen that one?

  61. Then about six different times. He's he's at the grill honey. It's up to boy. Hold

  62. You know and he keeps going and she gets more boisterous with her. Oh

  63. Right, and then in the middle of the night she hits the button and

  64. Shouts she sold it and he jumps up in the bed. What what what she said? I just sold it

  65. The whole point of the matter is to hold

  66. The whole point of the matter is to hold

  67. When we stop and think about life sometimes we we are placed in what's known as a holding pattern

  68. Think about this by definition. It's the state or period of no progress or

  69. Change have you ever witnessed things in your life situations in your life where you've been put on hold

  70. And you're ready to move forward and you keep hearing the Spirit of the Lord say hold

  71. Not yet. It's not time to move. It's not time to proceed forward

  72. It's it's time to hold when I think about different times and periods over our history

  73. during the 1933 inaugural address from President Franklin Roosevelt that that

  74. Kindly brought about an acclaim of one famous sentence and statement come out of that where he declared

  75. There's nothing to fear but fear itself as he's trying to

  76. Calm a nation in the throes or in the clutches of a great depression

  77. and he's trying to stimulate them to have some hope and trying to

  78. Instill in them that there is a future a brighter future

  79. It's hard to get a hold of that when you see a nation in a holding pattern of that nature

  80. You have the dust bowls in Texas and people are starving and it's a very hard and difficult time in a

  81. Nation and we don't understand how that we can be

  82. But put in these holding patterns and and fear is a factor

  83. Concerning a holding pattern sometimes fear will put a hold and put its own lock on us and and bring about a sense

  84. of paralysis and we're unable to move and unable to progress and and to go any further and

  85. When we stop and think about what?

  86. Roosevelt would say in that statement and the power

  87. It really did stabilize a nation. There's nothing to fear but fear itself

  88. It brought about a calming because the reality when you face the situation and you face the issue

  89. Yes, you may be at a point of no progress. Yes. You may be in a period of no change

  90. But that means it's not any worse. It may not have gotten any better. But hallelujah

  91. It hasn't gotten any worse. Amen. No progress no change and things are going to be better

  92. No change and things are staying the way they are

  93. it brought about something that that brought hope into a people and and the plan that he would bring in and begin to see

  94. America rise again out of the despair of that Great Depression fear ranges

  95. It brings a sense of dread and of hopelessness in it and it ranges from a mild anxiety

  96. Anxiety to crippling panic attacks where you are unable to move frozen because of fear

  97. the Psychiatric Association have listed over

  98. 500 different phobias, you know acrophobia and I'm not even going to mention the snake of phobia

  99. It's a word. I can't even hardly get out but you understand what I'm saying

  100. It's the fear of natural things that cause us to be gripped in a state of

  101. Immovability we are just immobile. You cannot move your grip to the point where you are frozen. Can I

  102. Illustrate today that can happen in our spiritual lives as well that we can be so gripped with fear that we become

  103. Immobile we're in a holding pattern fear brings on us

  104. Sometimes God will place us in a holding pattern and and it's not because of fear. It's not because of doubt

  105. It's not because of sin not because of unbelief, but there are times that God himself may place us and a holding pattern

  106. Where there seems to be no progress there seems to be no change with our situation and when the enemy tries to come in at

  107. Those times remember that phrase of Roosevelt's there's nothing to fear but fear itself

  108. But also remember what the Word of God proclaims over your and my life

  109. We've not been given the spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind and if I'm in a holding pattern

  110. There's a reason and a purpose for that in my life research indicates that there are only two natural fears

  111. We're only born with two natural fears

  112. One of those is falling and the other is of loud noise and loud

  113. Sounds and it never ceases to amaze me how these mamas bring these brand new babies in here

  114. And they're gonna sleep all the way through this noise that I rattle on with to the top of my lungs when you get happy

  115. And you praise it

  116. Isn't it wonderful that there is a peace that comes up when you're in the presence of God and babies can sleep and not just babies

  117. I've seen some of you snore just a little amen

  118. You're you're unmoved by the loud noise of my voice

  119. You can get so rock but I guess a restful peace and the anointed presence of the Lord is better than anywhere else

  120. So if I nudge you I just want you to come to a man

  121. But let the baby sleep on but it never ceases to amaze me how that even in the noise of a Pentecostal

  122. Worship service that little babies can just sleep on a man because they're knowing that there's nothing to fear and what they hear

  123. Especially if that little baby has been formed in the sanctuary

  124. Amen, that's the reason I think a lot of times

  125. They're not so stressed out when I reach for them to hold them at baby dedication. They're familiar with the preacher's voice

  126. They've heard the pastor's voice for at least nine months

  127. Hello, and so they're unshaken and they know that that loud noise is not gonna hurt them nor harm them

  128. Can I tell you this morning that the voice of God speaking into your life will not hurt you?

  129. Neither will it harm you but he will speak into your situation

  130. He will speak into your crisis moment and he will bring a peace that will pass all understanding

  131. Every other fear that we have in life is learned and we train ourselves to be aware of them

  132. Oh as it takes the form of the fear has the form of success you realize there are people who are afraid to succeed

  133. Because they don't know what doors that may open and they feel overwhelmed with success

  134. There are others who have the fear of failure so they won't do anything and they remain paralyzed

  135. There's the fear of rejection. How many of us enjoy being accepted?

  136. We enjoy being loved a man and when we don't want rejection so many times we won't put ourselves out there

  137. We won't expose our feelings

  138. We won't expose ourself because of the fear that people will not accept us for who we are

  139. Oh, there's the fear of disease and the fear of the future. I'm telling you

  140. I believe that in our nation right now many are gripped with a fear of the future because of its uncertainty

  141. But know this today child of God. You don't have to be afraid of the future. It's already pinned out

  142. It's already written down. It's gonna get worse. Oh preacher. You're a big bundle of help this morning pastor

  143. You're a big boost to my faith today

  144. Well, it ought to be because it's fallen right in line with the word of the living God

  145. But he said even though it gets worse

  146. He said be of good cheer why because he knows that this world will bring about tribulation in our lives

  147. But he also know what he afforded to the believer while these tribulations coming into their life be of good cheer because I have

  148. Overcome the world a man knowing that we're just pilgrims here

  149. We're just on a journey through life and this journey's taking us to the hope that we have the eternal hope that we have in Christ

  150. And Christ alone. Oh my home is not here. Amen

  151. My residing place is in eternity

  152. Oh a man and him and with him forever to be and so when you look at the grander scheme of life

  153. Why do you have to be afraid? Amen

  154. Why does fear have to well over your soul be of good courage this morning? The Lord is on your side

  155. He will watch over you. He will protect you and he will keep you even in your holding pattern

  156. The Lord said in Luke 21 26 men's hearts

  157. Will be felling them for fear

  158. And for taking and looking after the things which are coming to the earth

  159. Fear produces

  160. negative effects on our life

  161. It paralyzes to the point where we can't make rational decision

  162. It paralyzes to the point where we cannot make a rational

  163. logical

  164. Decision on things that are facing us in life

  165. I've already told you to mobilize this it causes you to be frozen in your position. It causes you to be

  166. Stunned it just hinders action hinders prayer

  167. Fear limits our faith eight man when we are believing more in the negative report of the enemy than the positive

  168. Word of God it causes the limits on our faith. It restricts our hope it restricts relationships

  169. It lowers your spiritual productivity and fear will even lower your physical productivity

  170. Amen, it jeopardizes the good health that God has given us it and I'll tell you another thing fear will do

  171. Fear is the king of robbing you of your joy, but I'm here to tell you today your joy does not

  172. Determine is not determined by what goes on in this world now

  173. It affects our happiness to a great level and to a great degree

  174. But the sooner you realize that it is joy a man that is a hope of glory

  175. It's the joy of the Lord that feels your life. It's drawing from the joy of the well of salvation that

  176. Stabilizes your hope even though you're in a world it affects your happiness

  177. But the joy of the Lord is will and always become the strength of the believer

  178. Because I have a joy in knowing that this is not all there is the

  179. Circumstances of life at the very moment is not the end of it all hallelujah

  180. Hallelujah, the way that it works for J iris is exactly this J iris comes

  181. He has a great problem. First of all, he is a devout man. He's a pastor if you will

  182. He's over the synagogue of his area and his town and over his community

  183. So he is a very devout man and somewhere in this

  184. Devotedness to God he's come to an understanding that this man called Jesus is who he claims himself to be

  185. Somewhere in his study of scripture somewhere there's been this stirring in this depth of his heart that he knows that the answer that he needs

  186. And requires for his life the fear that is overwhelming him for losing his daughter's life and losing her

  187. It can only be answered by approaching Jesus Christ and look what he does. He renounces his own faith

  188. He steps against his own religious tradition of the day, but yet he steps out in faith

  189. Can I tell somebody this morning if you'll just deny all of the garbage that's going on around you all the tradition?

  190. That's going on around you and all of what everybody else has to say about your situation

  191. And let a step of faith be extended by your feet and by your heart and by your uplifted hands if you can just let

  192. Faith reach out hallelujah. It'll be a difference maker

  193. It'll be what breaks the yoke and the bondage of fear off your life

  194. If you just have enough faith and what you've heard somehow another J Iris had heard that Jesus was the real deal

  195. And he's about to let go he's about to get out of a holding pattern

  196. He's about to be released because there's faith coming his way and his faith's going to hoard the faith of all men

  197. Which is Jesus Christ the righteous and at his feet he falls

  198. Devout upstanding desperate can I tell you desperate folk or dangerous folk?

  199. That when you become desperate

  200. To get into Jesus's presence you become very dangerous

  201. Because you don't worry about it all of a sudden. It doesn't matter what everybody else says or things

  202. Amen

  203. So what happened when two dead men were killed?

  204. Amen, so what happened when two desperate people collide?

  205. In our story you have two desperate people

  206. colliding for the same answer

  207. You have a desperate man whose daughter is sick

  208. He's about to it be introduced to a desperate woman who is about to die herself. I

  209. Think it's noteworthy to know she'd been sick for 12 years and his daughter was 12 years old

  210. You've got two very desperate people who are colliding at a point of faith and the point of that faith is Jesus Christ

  211. Both had been in a holding pattern. I don't know how long the daughter had been sick

  212. We do know how long this woman had been sick. She had been sick for 12 long years

  213. She had spent all that she had she had sought out every physician

  214. Every new doctor every new quack and if you study ancient

  215. Medicine you're gonna find out they were some real

  216. Quacks in their day and the cure would be the thing would probably kill most of them other than the condition that they had

  217. Some of the desperate measures they went to trying to save people's lives

  218. There is no telling that the torture under the guise of medicine

  219. Some of you probably know what I'm talking about this morning

  220. Some of you probably tortured under the banner of medicine and and you just thank in God

  221. You survived what they did to you let alone what you had and that's where this woman finds herself as this desperation in her life

  222. She'd spent all she had there was no other answer. There was no other help. There was no other hope

  223. We've got a man who's devout in his religious practice who has no other help and no other hope

  224. Don't you know every doctor had been through his house as well?

  225. Every physician had to come and see his daughter as well and he had lost hope and desperation

  226. Collides at the feet of Jesus my God and as J iris makes his way and falls at his feet

  227. He'd be sought that word be sought is literally begged. You've got a righteous man

  228. You've got a man noted in the community

  229. You've got a man that everybody knows and recognizes and now here

  230. He is in the middle of the street on his face begging him back to help him

  231. He's on the street on his face begging a man called Jesus to come to his house my my my my my

  232. He's about to break a holding pattern because of faith is about to be released out of his heart because faith has now found its way

  233. To the only help and the only hope that had any help and doing something for him and J iris is finding himself now

  234. Begging for the only hope that my god wouldn't it be wonderful if we found ourselves at the feet begging

  235. For more of what we need and more if we get desperate enough

  236. We'll find ourselves again falling at the feet of Jesus and be seeking him and begging him to come and move

  237. on our situation

  238. He knew that Jesus was his only help hope and it seems as though his prayer had been answered

  239. They're moving toward his house

  240. And the collision of this second point of desperation

  241. This woman with this issue

  242. Interrupts his answer

  243. Have you ever felt like your answer had been interrupted?

  244. Have you ever felt like your answer had been interrupted? Have you ever felt like Jesus was doing something? I mean you you were feeling better about it and then wham

  245. All progress is stopped and you're back in the holding pattern

  246. I don't like holding patterns in airplanes. I don't know how they work it. I don't know how they figure it

  247. Getting enough gas on that thing to circle around Miami

  248. I mean, you know, evidently they don't gas and go like I do I get enough to get to where i'm going

  249. Not right around town

  250. Hello

  251. I'm not going to circle the city when I get there. I get just enough to get to where i'm going

  252. Save every gallon I can to help me get back

  253. Pilot comes on since we're in holding pattern waiting on the thunderstorm. I thought well how much cash we got

  254. I have tank quarter tank what we're looking at here. It'll help me in my desperation

  255. I'm thinking this thing goes down. I hope it goes down on that swing out over the water so I can use my seat as a flotation device

  256. My luck should go down right over the middle of florida

  257. I'm thinking it's going to go down on that swing out over the water so I can use my seat as a flotation device

  258. My luck should go down right over the middle of florida

  259. I get just enough to get to where i'm going

  260. How long lord do we have to wait how long do I have to how long am I going to have to be here

  261. 12 years

  262. How long am I going to be in this holding pattern fear then begins to take hold doesn't it?

  263. When you think about holding patterns when fear takes its grip adam and eve they hid from god in the garden because

  264. Of fear

  265. We know the direct result of that was sin

  266. They were hiding from god because of fear of god

  267. israel a nation of people

  268. Gave up on the promised land because they were afraid

  269. Of the giants that were in the land

  270. According to psalm 789 ifrim turned back in the day of battle

  271. Because of fear

  272. Saul's army fled before goliath in first samuel 17 because they were afraid an army afraid of one man

  273. Gideon have you ever heard of a gideon revival pastors don't like to hear about gideon revivals

  274. That's revival by subtraction

  275. Gideon started out with 32 000 men which was already a very small army at the force he was going out to face

  276. And then god's going to whittle that down. He said gideon you tell everybody that scared half to death

  277. Just go back to the house 22 000 of his 32 000 left that day

  278. By the time he gets down to him drinking at the pool

  279. He's left with 300 come on

  280. But that's enough

  281. That's enough if god's in it you're talking about a holding pattern i'm thinking gideon saying you want to do what?

  282. A pitcher put a candle in it a trumpet in other hand where am I going to carry my sword?

  283. This is a fight

  284. Well, if god's in my I ain't got time for that. Let's move on

  285. Elijah's gripped by fear and depression sets in his life

  286. In first kings 19 Jonah runs from the call of god because of fear

  287. All right

  288. The disciples cried out master carest not thou that we perish because they were afraid of a storm

  289. Fear gripping their lives

  290. They leave him at calvary because they were afraid for their own lives

  291. And we live in a world that's gripped with the chaos of fear

  292. And in this world god speaks like he did here to jay iris

  293. fear not

  294. The worst news possible happened to jay iris as after the delay

  295. With a woman with the issue of blood now she's healed and now she owns up to it

  296. And now he's blessing her and now we can come out of the holding pattern and move toward

  297. Move toward my miracle then the worst thing possible happens

  298. Trouble not the master your daughter's dead

  299. But I love it as luke records he said and jesus heard it

  300. And he heard what was said to jay iris

  301. He heard it he knows your situation he knows how desperate it may seem he knows how desperate it may appear

  302. He knows

  303. And one thing I love about the lord once he starts on a journey. He doesn't stop till he completes it

  304. He knows

  305. He knows

  306. He knows

  307. He knows

  308. He knows

  309. And one thing I love about the lord once he starts on a journey. He doesn't stop till he completes it

  310. No matter the interruptions of the faith of others

  311. Hello

  312. He told jay iris i'm coming. Let's go

  313. And nothing would suffice him until he got there. Amen

  314. Fear not

  315. Believe only

  316. Let's go

  317. How do you how do you do that? How do you get up out of the dirt?

  318. He had to have been back down in the dirt. I would have been in the dirt

  319. You tell me my daughter's dead i'm in the dirt

  320. You tell me my 12 year old baby has just passed i'm in the dirt

  321. I don't know in a crowd this size. Some of you may have already had the deal with that and you've been in the dirt

  322. But then you hear the lord declare fear not

  323. Believe only

  324. Believe only

  325. Believe only for your situation knowing that he is able believe only

  326. Knowing that god himself is able to take care of the situation that you're dealing with and the issue and the circumstance

  327. That has driven you to a point of desperation. He is

  328. able

  329. He's able to move in every situation, right?

  330. Read a little story. I thought was funny

  331. But it got to the point a little girl five six seven years old in the middle of the night storm comes up

  332. She's asleep in her room and comes running to her mom and dad's room

  333. She bursts through the door and moms they always go to mom's side. Hello

  334. She goes to her mother said mom I want to sleep with you and daddy and you know how it is

  335. Honey, you're gonna be all right. It's gonna be okay

  336. Nothing to be afraid of it's just a storm. You can go back in there and go to sleep

  337. No, I won't sleep with you and daddy said well, honey, it's gonna be fine

  338. You're going to be okay. And besides that Jesus is in the room with you

  339. The little girl looks at mom says that's okay mom. You go in there and sleep with Jesus. I'm getting in the bed with dad

  340. You know sometimes seeing is believing

  341. You go in there and sleep with jeez i'm staying right here with dad

  342. And that's the way it works sometimes with our life

  343. We hear the lord say some things like that to us. It's going to be okay

  344. It's going to be all right. He's going to take care of he's going to answer. It's a storm

  345. You're in a holding pattern. It will pass over it will pass by

  346. It will be done with and we have to have hope and trust god knowing

  347. That it's going to be over when we're in that holding pattern

  348. And the only way you can do that is that you accept the assurance of god's promises

  349. That's the only way you can do that

  350. That's the only way you can go back in a storm and go to sleep

  351. That's the only way you can get up out of the dirt

  352. Because you are assured of the one who has made you the promise

  353. And that he is full well and able to supply everything that he has promised to you in your life

  354. If we just continue focusing to look at the circumstance

  355. I assure you fear will grip you

  356. I assure you that the devil will bind you up with it if that's all you can see

  357. But you have to do as the psalmist we we have to condition our faith to do as the psalmist in that psalm of the assentin 121

  358. Where does my help come from?

  359. I'll lift up my eyes into the hills

  360. Where does my help come from? Where am I assisted? Where do I receive my aid?

  361. It's not the hills, but it's above the hills

  362. I lift up my eyes into the hills from which cometh my help my help comes from the lord

  363. When you get desperate in desperate moments know this your help comes from the lord

  364. Sometimes you don't get assurance from the doctor. Sometimes you don't get peace from the diagnosis

  365. Sometimes you you you leave in worse shape than you went in there

  366. Yeah, but when you hear the word of god, it's going to be all right when god has made a promise to you

  367. Amen, then you can be assured of every promise that he's made in your life and know that that assurance is

  368. accompanied with his peace

  369. You have to be assured that god is big enough

  370. You have to assure yourself

  371. You know, there are times you can't assure others until you have assured yourself

  372. That god is able

  373. And to know according what he said to isaiah

  374. That he will keep him

  375. in perfect peace

  376. Whose mind is stayed upon the lord?

  377. Trust me. I know how it is and how easy it becomes when you look at the circumstance and you you can't keep your mind

  378. fixated on the promises of god because of the reality of the moment of what you are seeing

  379. And the report like a j-iris that you just heard it's real. It's the real deal. It's the reality

  380. It's the reality of life. Don't bother the master anymore

  381. He is gone

  382. But then the master interjects because he hears the negativity of the voice of fear and then he speaks in and says fear not

  383. believe only

  384. A lot of times we we invert that we say only believe but I think there's a reason it's believe only

  385. Because if you begin with the believe and the singularity of it only

  386. Leaves no other option for us

  387. But if we invert it only

  388. Believe it gives me other options before I have to believe

  389. For me myself, it gives me other options

  390. for me myself it gives fear an opportunity to interject its ugly head into my situation, but if I

  391. believe only

  392. It brings a new reality in a sense to me that it tells myself trust in the lord

  393. Trust god believe

  394. believe

  395. Believe that's the simplicity of our life with christ

  396. That's the simplicity of our life in this world believe only you know when I was a sinner, I only believed I knew there was a god

  397. Hello, and I scared of him to a degree more afraid of mother than god

  398. It's that immediate reality that she struck into my life and my belief system

  399. I brought you in i'll take you out you do this this and this

  400. Hello, am I the only one in here that heard that speech?

  401. And even worse than that was if you don't listen to me i'm gonna tell your daddy

  402. That's not a place I ever wanted to end up

  403. It's where we are in our life that matters with your faith and believing god and god alone

  404. I know we're slowing down this morning, but i'm trying to help somebody today

  405. Fear will announce itself into your circumstance

  406. Be assured of that the enemy will see fit to that

  407. That fear will interject into your situation

  408. And if we're doing anything but believing god it will cause a paralysis in our faith

  409. My lord, I know

  410. Paralysis in our faith my lord, I know

  411. But rest assure the promises of god are ye and amen in christ

  412. Jesus assure yourselves of that

  413. His promises are unfailing first kings 8 56 says there's not one word not one word of any promise that god made to israel

  414. That he did not fulfill

  415. Romans 421 they are assured being fully persuaded paul said that

  416. What the lord and what he had and what he had presented

  417. Knowing that he was able to perform it

  418. Whatever god had spoken

  419. He was convinced

  420. That god was able to perform it

  421. Are you convinced?

  422. Are you convinced of the promise that god has made you in your circumstance?

  423. And the holding pattern that you're finding yourself in this this period of unchanged this

  424. State of being spiritually that you feel like you've been stuck in for a while

  425. Do you trust god? Is your faith in god maintaining and staying whole and complete?

  426. Knowing that god is able

  427. And then if you are then it's not hard to commit

  428. The results to god

  429. Of whatever it is

  430. And to trust god that the outcome is his will

  431. And to trust god that the outcome is his will

  432. Emphasized over our own

  433. That was that's a hard one to that's a hard one to ingest right there

  434. Because god doesn't always do it the way we want it done

  435. But he knows you and I better than we know ourselves and he performs

  436. According to his will for our life

  437. And if our lives are subjected to him

  438. He's faithful

  439. Stand with me. I'm gonna wind this down. I got a long way to go, but I'm gonna wind it down

  440. You cannot be in doubt

  441. That god is on your side

  442. God is on your side

  443. Cory 10 booms definition of faith

  444. Don't doubt the dark what god has shown you in the light that's that's pretty powerful

  445. God has revealed himself

  446. Don't doubt it when the midnight hour comes

  447. But randy's been doing a wonderful job walking us through the book of acts

  448. As we finished up last week after the shipwreck on the isle of malta

  449. Paul and all the others

  450. God told paul you're going to rome

  451. And rome he would show up

  452. No matter what tried to stop him

  453. Tried to stop him hurricane-tight storm shipwrecked on an island bit by poisonous snake

  454. And many other peril and danger along the way

  455. God said paul you're going to rome. I need you there

  456. There was only one final destination for paul that was rome

  457. No matter how rough the journey

  458. His life may have only been spared by

  459. A plank off a ship that he rode to shore doesn't matter

  460. His life was spared somebody you need to hear this this morning

  461. You may be like a jacob you may come out of your holding pattern with a limp

  462. But when you come out of it, you're going to be blessed

  463. If god has spoken something over your life to your life

  464. And in your life

  465. I don't know what condition you'll be in by the time you get to it, but you will get to it

  466. Desperation drives us to many different measures

  467. And don't for a moment think you're the only one that's in a holding pattern

  468. Sometimes we live in the holding pattern

  469. Abraham waited

  470. For isaac to be born

  471. Joseph waited through the pit

  472. Through the prison

  473. To get to the palace

  474. He'd already had a dream

  475. The moon the stars were going to bow before him that's what got him in the pit

  476. Joshua and kala had to wait for the moon to come

  477. Joshua and kala had to wait 40 years

  478. For the reality of something that they had already once partook of

  479. To the fulfillment of it

  480. You don't about a holding pattern

  481. One of my favorite favorite scripture is that about concerning the ending of that 40 year holding pattern when the lord said

  482. You've can pass this mountain long enough

  483. to turn

  484. My god, I wait for that don't you

  485. That's what i'm waiting for by holding pattern to be broke

  486. You've been here long enough you've walked in circles long enough it's been 40 years

  487. And I want you to turn

  488. My David waited

  489. Go tear you in Jerusalem till you be endued with power jesus said

  490. The disciples waited

  491. And so here you and I are here we are

  492. In a holding pattern

  493. I don't know what your wilderness looks like. I don't know what the storm of sea of life is doing to you

  494. I don't know how you're being affected by the grip of fear as it comes into your situation and individual circumstances

  495. And you're in this holding pattern no progress no change

  496. Could be just a few days weeks months some of you could be in the circling pattern for years it seems

  497. And you're living in the holding pattern, but i'm here to tell you child of god

  498. There's an appointed moment when the lord says you've compassed it long enough

  499. Turn father. I love you this morning. What I've preached what you've laid on my heart

  500. Turn father. I love you this morning. What I've preached what you've laid on my heart

  501. Lord I felt the shift

  502. I felt it in here a few moments ago

  503. That's why we're winding this to this point

  504. To the point of desperation

  505. Mercy never fails me

  506. All my life

  507. In your hands listen

  508. Moment that I wake up

  509. Till I lay my head

  510. I will sing

  511. Of the goodness

  512. Of god

  513. You said pastor i'm in a holding pattern

  514. Life you have been

  515. I'm in a holding pattern

  516. And I needed that word today. I hear the voice of the lord

  517. I know what he's saying to me in my circumstance in my situation

  518. And I just need strength

  519. I need his added grace

  520. I need a touch this morning

  521. Are you desperate enough to make your way to this altar?

  522. If you are come right on

  523. Stand right here in the front just line up here in the front

  524. Just come on in I'm in a holding pattern

  525. I'm ready

  526. I wish today was the day I heard turn

  527. You've been in here long enough

  528. Oh my god I see the lord working his people are moving this away

  529. He's heard everything he's heard it all folks

  530. Thank you jesus
