  1. and every breath that I have I'm gonna give to him if I can at all give him the

  2. praise would you give him the best praise you brought with you today

  3. hallelujah

  4. hey man you can be seated

  5. I know our giving is not a reflection of his goodness but it is a testimony of

  6. it every every time you pick one of those up or walk by the bucket and put

  7. one in put something in or you you go to the church app and you give online

  8. it's a testimony of God's goodness it's a testimony to God's faithfulness I've

  9. always said once I figured it out for myself you know you got to figure it out

  10. for yourself tithing is not an affordability issue it's a trust issue

  11. has nothing to do with being able to afford it or not it's do you trust God

  12. or not and when you have that financial crisis moment of your own that you you

  13. gonna decide to trust God and then he proves himself it's never ever an

  14. affordability issue then for sure because of his goodness amen heavenly

  15. father I love you this morning so grateful for your presence that I feel

  21. according to your riches in glory and we're grateful and the church says amen

  22. but David carrying that bass line this morning hey man I heard him earlier I

  23. thought that's David they'll be glad I wasn't on soundboard today cuz about all

  24. you'd have heard was David crank that bass up where I can hear it good amen

  25. hallelujah have your Bibles be turning with me this morning to Psalm Psalm

    Psalms 20 chapter mention

  26. chapter 20

  27. mm-hmm I was in another world I guess y'all wonder where I went I was singing

  28. that song in my mind let us tell him all about our trouble he will hear you know

  29. what County when I preach this you're gonna think I asked them to play that but

  30. I did not when I get through here you'll think well that just works just fine and

  31. it does God works that way I need things like that for confirmation in my own in

  32. my own life and ministry to know that I'm on track a man another note remember

  33. brother Billy Jacobs in prayer this morning just right before service got

  34. started sister Sandra got a call right if they finished practicing in the

  35. billy fail and he did his head and they had to call the ambulance and she had to

  36. run home to help take care of brother Billy so remember them brother Billy

  37. this morning amen Psalm chapter 20

    Psalms 20 chapter mention

  38. the Lord hear thee in verse 1 in the day of trouble

  39. the name of the God of Jacob defend thee send the help from the sanctuary and

  40. strengthen thee out of Zion remember all thy offerings and accept thy burnt

  41. sacrifice say law this pause and look at that grant thee according to thine own

  42. heart and fulfill all thy counsel we will rejoice in thy salvation and in the

  43. name of our God we will set up our banners the Lord fulfill all thy

  44. petitions now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed he will hear him

  45. from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand some trust in

  46. chariots and some in horses but we will remember the name of the Lord our God

  47. they are brought down and fallen but we are risen and stand upright save Lord

  48. let the King hear us when we call simple thought this morning the Lord is on your

  49. side the Lord is on your side I'll pray for you if you pray for me and we'll

  50. make this expedient today father we love you we thank you for your mercy and your

  51. grace your goodness and Lord we know you're on our side now I asked God that

  52. you would help us this morning to preach that which would be edifying to the body

  53. glorifying to your name for this is what it's about that the Saints be lifted and

  54. you be exalted so encourage us today and may we that have ears hear what the

  55. spirit said to the church and the church says amen amen you can be seated tell

  56. your neighbor the Lord's on your side this 20th Psalm is actually coupled with

  57. the 21st they go together and they are both battle songs songs of battle the

  58. 20th Psalm precedes of course the battle and the 21st follows the battle from the

  59. heart of the King

  60. the praise for victory of the battle belongs into the Lord the 20th Psalm

  61. anticipates victory while the 21st declares that victory David is the author

  62. of these songs Psalms and they are songs and possibly during the period of his

  63. many wars recorded in 2nd Samuel possibly between the 8th and the 10th

  64. chapter David as the warring King one thing you need to know about David his

  65. sword may have been worn but it wasn't rusty he never let his sword get rusty

  66. the psalm this morning records an unnecessary prayer of the multitude on

  67. behalf of the King as he's about to encounter the enemy in battle there's one

  68. thing for certain battles will arise enemies will roar

  69. so therefore we must have the goods to get us through the hard times we got to

  70. have what it takes to lift our head up have our eyes open as we walk in to

  71. battle as we think about this 20th Psalm there's some things in it that the King

  72. prepares himself with in this prayer and this psalm as he

  73. approaches the battlefield

  74. you and I have to prepare ourselves as we approach the battlefield I think it's

  75. page 268 in that old red back him there's a song that declares I'm on the

  76. battlefield for my Lord

  77. that's where you and I exist today every day is a battle don't be alarmed when

  78. you wake up tomorrow and the enemies facing you don't don't be alarmed when

  79. you're frustrated flabbergasted disgusted and you're you're longing for

  80. a little relief anybody ever been there because it's one battle right after the

  81. other because something you you've got to understand about your enemy is he's

  82. never going to give up trying to destroy you he's never going to stop so the

  83. sooner that we as believers understand that that lion roars every day the

  84. adversary gets up in the morning and roars in your direction he roars in my

  85. direction he wants me to know that he is a relentless foe and I have to be on my

  86. guard every single day you have to be on your guard every single day and we can

  87. do that when we have a mental concept knowing that God is on our side before

  88. we ever step on the battlefield amen that the Lord is on our side so the first

  89. thing is the psalmist begins to record we see this enduring fact that the Lord

  90. truly indeed is on our side when you think about enduring that word means

  91. lasting it means continuing it means stable you have a stable force you have

  92. a stable resource on your side it's ever enduring he is ever enduring he never

  93. weakens he's never diminished hallelujah I don't know how that makes you feel but

  94. it really makes me feel good when I understand and know that the Lord is on

  95. my side and he is enduring for me and on my behalf greater is he that's in me

  96. than he that is in this world greater is he that's in you then he that is in this

  97. world so we have this enduring fact the Lord hear thee now when you think about

  98. that in that verse one that the psalmist records it well the Lord hear thee in

  99. the day of trouble understand this morning and know no trouble can approach

  100. you what God doesn't already know that it's approaching you remember he knows

  101. the end from the beginning and the beginning all the way through the end he

  102. knows all of the factors that's going on against your life he knows the plot of

  103. the enemy he and like brother Mill said last week he already knows what he's

  104. going to do for you if you just simply believe and trust in him and that

  105. enduring fact that the Lord is for you and he is on your side and he hears you

  106. a man in the day of trouble now I don't know about you but far as prayer goes if

  107. I'm not recognizing that the enemy's coming against me in full force I don't

  108. pray as much throughout the day as I do when I know that he's really out to get

  109. me that day those are the days that I kindly end up in praise I praise more I

  110. wake up with a song on my heart I wake up with a song the funny thing about it

  111. is I can only remember about a half a stanza and I just repeat that stanza all

  112. day long and the one that's been stuck in my head for the past month is that I

  113. what is it baby I've been saying that see there I can't even get it now and I

  114. wake up and it just starts coming out every morning I saw the Lord and he

  115. heard me and he answered and that's why I trust him so I go all day long that's

  116. the only thing I can get out of that I've got enough sense to look it up on

  117. my phone but that's really not the whole issue the whole issue is is I saw the

  118. Lord and he heard me and he answered and that's why I trust him and that's why I

  119. trust him I saw and it just plays looped over it's like a scratch on a CD or an

  120. old 45 come on some of you you know I'm clicking and it rolls back click it

  121. rolls back click it rolled back I saw the Lord and he heard me and he answered

  122. and that's why I trust him because I I begin to let my mind rush over the days

  123. that I've sought the Lord and he did hear me and he did answer and it reminds

  124. me that the Lord is on my side hallelujah and so those are the days

  125. that praise just flows out of it then there's those other days when I wake up

  126. to the echo of the roar of the lion who's standing there before me and I

  127. know the battle is on today and I need to know that the enduring fact that the

  128. Lord is on my side is in my mind so now I'm engaging in prayer I pray constantly

  129. throughout the day no I'm not always in a closet no I'm not always at an altar

  130. but my mind is before the throne all day long and I'm interceding and I'm praying

  131. and I'm seeking him and tomorrow when he moves and he answers I wake up I sought

  132. the Lord and he heard me and he answered and that's why I trust him and it goes

  133. on throughout my life the psalmist had sought the Lord and he heard him and

  134. that's what his declaration he is the Lord hear thee in the day of trouble if

  135. it's not trouble amen we're not really calling on him but when you call on him

  136. in the day of trouble he does hear you and it's an enduring fact to know that

  137. the Lord is on our side it encourages me to know that he's there that he always

  138. hears me when I pray but it's also he's always prepared to help me in my trouble

  139. Jesus said in John 15 and 7 if you abide in me and my words abide in you you shall

  140. ask what you will and it shall be done unto you doesn't that make you want to

  141. shout it does especially if you're living out the contractual agreement with

  142. this scripture the secret is that little two-letter word if hello you can seek

  143. him you can cry out all you want but if you're not abiding in him he's not

  144. obligated because you have broken the contract my my my my but for one who is

  145. abiding it's a conditional promise there if you're where you're supposed to be he

  146. will do what he's promised to do a man so if you're not where you're supposed

  147. to be and he's not doing what you're asking him to do I don't think the

  148. shortage is on his end it's always on our and can I get a witness in here it's

  149. a it's it's always on our end it's not on his end if we're abiding if we're

  150. living if we're dwelling within him and living in a life of righteousness and

  151. holiness but right and that and we're just seeking him out daily and our mind

  152. is continually on him if we're doing those things if we are abiding then he

  153. will answer why because he is obligated to his word and nothing else

  154. hallelujah but if we are where we are and know that the Lord is on our side and

  155. if you're there he will answer favorable answers follow the condition of the

  156. prayer first John 5 14 15 and this is the confidence that we have in him how

  157. many of you are confident in him this is the confidence that we have in him that

  158. if there it is again if we ask anything according to his will he hears us that

  159. leads me to believe if I'm praying contrary to his will he ain't heard a

  160. thing because the only thing that he aligns with is being in accordance to

  161. his will and abiding in his presence but if I'm trying to live out my life in

  162. accordance to his will how do I know what his will is well he's written it

  163. out for you his will and testament both old and new for our life and for our

  164. understanding if we are living in accordance to his word and obedience in

  165. our life as he speaks and directs to us and we are living obediently before him

  166. then we are contractually fulfilling the obligation and the agreement if

  167. hallelujah and then we're praying in accordance to his will he hears us and

  168. if we know here I love this part and if we know that he hears us whatsoever we

  169. ask we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him the first

  170. condition was abide the second condition is according to his will and the key to

  171. answered prayer is holy living and discernment of the will of God and if

  172. we abide in him and he and us and we ask according to that will then we position

  173. ourselves for answered prayer this is the enduring fact of God's faithfulness

  174. we are positioned in an alignment for him to answer when we seek the Lord and

  175. he hears us always hope there's always hope no matter the situation because we

  176. have the obligation in prayer no matter the battle no matter who the enemy

  177. presents themselves to be every child of God has the opportunity to pray we are

  178. afforded prayer and if we are abiding in him and we are in praying in accordance

  179. to his will he hears us and if we know that he hears us I have confidence in

  180. him because see I have confidence in my own life do you have confidence in where

  181. you are in God right now in your relationship I have confidence in knowing

  182. that when the spirit convicts me I repent

  183. that's a that's an unheard of term to the church anymore you mean I got to

  184. keep repenting well if you keep it on sinning yes you do but my prayer for us

  185. is that our faith grows and the sanctifying and the washing of the

  186. regenerating power of the Word of God finally equips us and gets us where

  187. we're no longer practicing sin it's a wonderful work of sanctification I got

  188. I got to get on we'll get to that later sometime that's another plow for another

  189. field he hears you when you pray Psalm 3 & 4 I cried unto the Lord with my

  190. voice it always helps if you're going to cry out use your voice I know there are

  191. places and situations sometimes where we can't just let it out and we do from the

  192. inside our soul cries out don't we I mean I'm screaming to the top of my

  193. spiritual lungs and I may be in a place where I just can't shout it out but on

  194. the inside I'm screaming to the heaven Lord hear me I'm here before you in this

  195. day of my trouble and he hears chapter 6 verse 9 the Lord has heard my

  196. supplication the Lord will receive my prayer the Psalmist was confident in God

  197. hearing him because he was confident in his condition with God chapter 18 verse

  198. 6 in my distress I called upon the Lord and cried unto my God he heard my voice

  199. and out of his temple and my cry came before him even unto his ears 34 and 4

  200. I sought the Lord and he heard me and he delivered me from all my fears verse 6

  201. this poor man cried and the Lord heard him and he saved him out of all of his

  202. troubles Proverbs 18 and 10 the name of the Lord's a strong tower the righteous

  203. run into it and he saved the name of the Lord is a strong tower understand

  204. knowing that when you are in the day and time of trouble the Lord hears you it's

  205. an enduring fact for my life he hears me then the answer sort of becomes dependent

  206. upon my condition with him he hears me if I'm abiding and I'm praying in

  207. accordance to his will I know he hears me a man I know he hears me Micah 7 7 and

  208. 8 says therefore I will look unto the Lord I will wait for the God of my

  209. salvation my God will hear me and this is how he knows he's going to hear him

  210. because of his condition rejoice not against me oh mine enemy when I fall I

  211. shall arise when I sit in darkness the Lord shall become a light unto me I

  212. don't know what that might do for you maybe it'll hit you a little bit later

  213. as you begin to meditate on those two verses of scripture Micah 7 7 and 8 go

  214. home and read them again get them placed in your heart get that in your mind

  215. because there comes a time when we do fall when we get knocked over on the

  216. battlefield but I love what the prophets said rejoice not over me oh mine enemy

  217. when I fall he immediately said I shall arise let me tell you what the water's

  218. parallel looks like in that passage of scripture it looks like this devil don't

  219. you dare stand over me and grin don't you look down on me because I'm down

  220. because I'm gonna get up my Lord and when I get up from here when I have you

  221. ever told somebody like that you may not be down but when I get up from here

  222. hey man I'm gonna get up my mama used to tell me that don't make me get up from

  223. here hello because I knew trouble was on its way if mama had to get up from there

  224. you know what I mean and that's what the prophet is trying to tell the enemy

  225. rejoice not over me oh my enemy because I'm gonna call on the Lord I'm gonna

  226. talk to the God of my salvation and I know he hears me and because he hears me

  227. I may be down but I'm not out I may be down I may have fallen but I'm not gonna

  228. stay here and when I get up from here you've had it when I get up from here

  229. I'm gonna take my vengeance on you when I sit in darkness the Lord shall be my

  230. light the Lord is on your side you may feel like you're in the dark room in the

  231. developmental process of life and it's okay the Lord will be your light

  232. hallelujah hey my soul that's one of my favorite verses don't make fun of me

  233. devil I may be down but I'm gonna get up and when I do get up from here hello

  234. grief may have me down sorrow may be welling over me but peace peace peace

  235. is coming my way and when peace gets to me like sea billows roll I'm gonna get

  236. up from here when the anguish of my soul is quenched by the grace of God Almighty

  237. the enduring fact to me knowing that he has heard me in my plight he has heard

  238. me in my dilemma and I sit in my dark room and the devil's looking down on me

  239. I will you gotta make a personal declaration I will arise

  240. well hallelujah that enduring fact is transformed to a strengthening force

  241. that second verse said he's gonna send the help from the sanctuary and

  242. strengthen thee out of Zion out of the same Lord said he's coming out himself

  243. he's sending you help from the sanctuary out of that holy place the most holy

  244. place where his grace and mercy and his might abides from there he's coming and

  245. he's gonna strengthen you that word strengthen means to support to hold up

  246. to refresh I just got a feeling down in my soul as I was studying and going over

  247. this again this morning I just feel like somebody needs to know God's gonna

  248. strengthen you today his strength is on his way for you he's gonna uphold you he

  249. is going to support you he's gonna refresh you it's coming your way he said

  250. out of his sanctuary he's gonna dispatch his help and it's gonna

  251. strengthen you out of his glory out of the realm of heaven I'm here to tell you

  252. this morning God is gonna dispatch a refreshing for you and he's gonna

  253. strengthen you out of Zion Zion means that desert parts place and also the is

  254. the inference of the city of Jerusalem the place of Zion but God said from

  255. there out of your parts place out of that desert moment I'm gonna strengthen

  256. you I'm gonna refresh you even in the hardship of where you are even in the

  257. hardness of where you've been living even in that desert place he's gonna

  258. send a refreshing he's gonna encourage you because the Lord wants you to know

  259. he is on your side this morning well glory he's the strength of our soul the

  260. strength of the Lord is the force that enables us to not just make it through a

  261. battle but to be victorious in the battle

  262. you know sometimes surviving is victory hello there's something to be said for

  263. survivors because you're victorious in your surviving

  264. sometimes survival is the victory we look at it like if we just run in the

  265. aisles we're not victorious but I'm here to you sometimes after the battle you

  266. don't have strength to run hello sometimes after the victory you all you

  267. can do is just sit and soak up his goodness and let him strengthen you for

  268. your shout and may have ever done that you've come through a spiritual war and

  269. you do all you do just kind of wipe your head you might have to shout your way to

  270. the victory but you finally got there and it's like I'm out I'm out I'm empty

  271. my tanks empty well when you go into battle know this the Lord's gonna

  272. strengthen you out of his sanctuary he's gonna send hope he's gonna send the

  273. endorsing factor of his grace into your life and he's gonna enable you to be the

  274. victor that he's called you out to be from the beginning Paul the Apostle

  275. learned that valuable lesson with his storm in the flesh he said I prayed three

  276. times have you ever really got a hold of God more than once for a situation it'd

  277. be nice if you just got a hold of the heavens one time and it was done

  278. sometimes you get a hold of heaven a couple different times Paul got a hold

  279. of heaven he said I prayed through how many remember the old term praying

  280. through not praying do you get finished but praying through to heaven touches

  281. you right one person put it this way pray do you touch heaven and pray till

  282. heaven touches you and pray that you can touch somebody else when you get up amen

  283. Paul said I prayed through I prayed three times on behalf of this thorn I've

  284. got this this messenger that Satan sent to come against me every day he was in

  285. that battle he's weak he's tired he's frustrated he's at a point where he

  286. doesn't think he could go on and he gets hold of heaven and heaven gets a hold of

  287. him and he hears this from the Lord's mouth himself my grace is sufficient

  288. for you for my hear this for my strength is made perfect in weakness when we are

  289. at our weakest in the flesh the power of God the glory of God becomes the

  290. strongest in the spirit and enables us in our weakness so that we could have

  291. the same testimony that Paul would let her have to the Philippians I can do all

  292. things through Christ who strengthens me and the only way you know that is if you

  293. have that wonderful touch of his grace when you've prayed over and over and

  294. over and God still doesn't move it as far as I know he died with his thorn

  295. whatever that might have been a lot of speculation out there I don't know so

  296. I'll not speculate Paul had a problem he had an issue evidently it was very

  297. tormenting to him because he didn't just pray once and go on with it hello how

  298. many of them problems you got you pray once or twice and you learn to live with

  299. it he never learned to live with it God had to grace him through it this I can

  300. tell he never accepted it and always remained a fester and I know what a

  301. little briar in your thumb can do I've got one right now aggravates the life

  302. out of me got in there the other day just a little bitty thorn every time he

  303. touched something you know I'm saying it's got a little fester to it I'm gonna

  304. have to dig it out my lord with that right there not preach

  305. sometimes you just gotta let him dig it out I hate the old up to it but I got a

  306. knot right here on side of this finger it's from a big piece of pool cue from

  307. back in the day that's not funny baby if anybody remembers what the day was you

  308. should remember it's a constant reminder but David it's a constant reminder that

  309. not right there never down there now I hit something with it and it still hurts

  310. I dug and I dug and I couldn't get it out somebody says why didn't you go to

  311. the doctor and let them get it out well if I have to answer that you know as

  312. intelligence I think you are redneck lifts enough holler in a hole in the

  313. wall with a pool cue and then you think I'm going to get that dug out no

  314. there's reminders that you carry around daily that you prayed about but they're

  315. not gone

  316. you've sought the Lord and he heard you and you just didn't like his answer I'm

  317. sure Paul wanted a different answer wouldn't you love wouldn't it have been

  318. wonderful to read that the Lord spoke to him and said okay I'm going to take care

  319. of it it would make a whole lot better preaching by this time tomorrow you know

  320. by this by four o'clock tomorrow evening it's going to be taken care of and then

  321. we read on at 410 it was done and Paul shouting but that's not what we get we

  322. hear the Lord say my grace is sufficient for you in your weakness my strength is

  323. magnified and I'm going to keep on dispensing my grace somebody needs to

  324. hear that today you may have to keep on dealing with it you may have to keep on

  325. living with it but you're not going to live with it alone you're going to live

  326. with the addition of his grace daily that amazing grace that enables you to

  327. shout in spite of it hallelujah to sing over the top of it and to magnify him

  328. because of it amen his grace will strengthen you now that really is not

  329. good I'll run in preaching right there because that means we're kind of stuck

  330. sometimes well yes it's not as rosy as the prosperity preachers like to make it

  331. hello it's not as happy-go-lucky as the free grace people like to proclaim it oh

  332. just do what you want to do it's covered honey hit ain't covered till you get it

  333. covered this cheap grace place huh when I see the price he paid there's nothing

  334. cheap about it come on if you abide in him he's

  335. abiding in you the moment you stop abiding he stops listening the moment

  336. you start transgressing his will he stops listening well you're not helping

  337. me I'm helping you better than you think I am

  338. he strengthens too many times in the battle we try to go in our own power

  339. don't we we fail every time when we do that we need to remember the battle is

  340. not ours a man the battle isn't yours you know what David said when he went

  341. down to face Goliath in the valley of Elah as he's picking up stones along the

  342. way Goliath cursing him making fun of him making fun of God cursing God

  343. you come to me with spear and sword the battle is not mine but I come to you in

  344. the name of the Lord all I'm coming for is the victory my god all I'm coming for

  345. is your head my lord when you get that tenacity about you and the devil starts

  346. roaring at you and God has graced you daily all you need to know is the battle

  347. isn't yours you get to relish in the victory

  348. Psalm 63 and 7 because thou hast been my help

  349. therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I praise 121 the beautiful Psalm of

  350. the sin I will lift up my eyes to the hills

  351. from which cometh my help my help comes from the Lord

  352. the maker of the heavens and the earth

  353. the

  354. psalmist moved through to a steady faith

  355. for seven we will remember

  356. the name

  357. of the Lord our God

  358. we will remember the name

  359. of the Lord our God

  360. of how God had heard and answered prayer over their life expanse

  361. they probably remembered Jehovah-Roy

  362. God who sees and answers

  363. Jehovah-Jireh

  364. Jehovah-Shalom he's my peace

  365. Jehovah-Rapha he's my healer

  366. we're gonna remember the name of the Lord our God

  367. El Shaddai the Almighty One

  368. El Ohim the self-existent one the creator

  369. and when they look when they just started talking to each other about the names of God

  370. they got excited because they began to remember who their God was

  371. and we're about to go into battle

  372. and when we begin to remember he's the God our peace

  373. he's got our sanctifier he's our banner and his banner over us is love

  374. Jehovah-Niss is his name and my Lord they got themselves worked up into a frenzy

  375. when they began to go into battle because all they had to simply do was

  376. remember who the God that they served was

  377. and can I remind somebody in here you may have to get up in the morning and go

  378. into battle but would you just remind yourself who it is you serve

  379. for you and I he is all encompassed and we have the extra benefit

  380. of the revelation of the incarnate one through Christ the I am's of our life

  381. the bread the light the life the door hallelujah

  382. the true vine we have all of those extended into us

  383. we have God don't forget in whom it is you serve

  384. and remember always that the Lord is on your side

  385. Amen

  386. Faith endures

  387. our faith thrives on the blessings of God

  388. my faith grows every time the Lord blesses

  389. every time I hear a testimony from one of you

  390. every time I get a picture of a check for three dollars and eighty five cents

  391. that you got from the middle of nowhere in the mail

  392. then you get those checks for the hundreds of dollars that people get in

  393. the mail makes me want to pray harder that we all

  394. get one of those but every time something that simple

  395. that simplicity of that prayer that we pray every day

  396. every time sister sandy tells me and testifies about the sale that she found

  397. in town

  398. getting stuff for a fraction of the original cost

  399. does that matter well sure it does if you can pay 20 instead of 120

  400. hello then I hear of how the Lord touches people in body

  401. and they're healed or the peace of God wells over

  402. and calms it encourages my faith and it causes me to thrive in God

  403. even though I may be looking at the battle even though a Goliath may be

  404. standing in front of me because David had faced Goliath and won

  405. it lets me know that greater is he that's in me than he that is in this

  406. world and if God is for me then who can be

  407. against me you have to encourage yourself in the reality of who you are

  408. as a child of God and let this prayerful psalm enter into

  409. your heart and prepare you for battle

  410. a steady faith too many Christians fall in battle because they have failed to

  411. realize who God really is

  412. we're living in very dangerous times troublesome times amen

  413. we've got to remember the name of the Lord our God

  414. remember his promises to us

  415. remember the prophecies concerning the world

  416. instead of becoming distraught and living in fear and withdrawn

  417. no we step out knowing that our God is working and moving because his word

  418. is being fulfilled right before our very eyes

  419. we become excited I think part of our problem is

  420. we've become too attached to this old world

  421. we're too attached to this old world

  422. but we will remember and if we can only commit the word of

  423. God to our memory we'd be far better equipped for our

  424. battles

  425. the key to success in the work of God is the kind of study and

  426. drawing near that we do concerning the word of God

  427. faith I know it's all cliche and I know it's those that just roll out

  428. faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God

  429. we become steady in our faith and trusting God

  430. when we hear the word proclaimed what we are this morning

  431. we hear his word brought out before us and when I face the devil in a different

  432. way maybe tomorrow or Thursday or Friday I remind myself of his word

  433. and I remember that he is faithful and he is true

  434. and he's not a man that he should lie and what he has said

  435. he will perform if I abide in accordance to his will he's going to

  436. do it for me

  437. you end up with a defeated foe

  438. verse eight they are brought down and fallen but we are risen

  439. and stand upright

  440. they would sing this song as they would get ready to go in the battle

  441. that some trust in chariots some trust in horses but we're going to

  442. trust in the name of our lord because his name is a

  443. testimony of his faithfulness over their life his name is a testimony

  444. over his faithfulness in your and my life

  445. all my life you have been faithful

  446. all my life you have been so so good with every breath that I am able

  447. sister Kim come on do that

  448. of the goodness of God why because the Lord's on your side

  449. the Lord is on my side so we end up with a defeated foe they are brought

  450. down and fallen one spiritual principle that

  451. the average believer has never understood is that

  452. they think that Satan still has the upper hand

  453. in all earthly matters and that's just not so

  454. he was defeated he is the prince and the power of the air but let me tell you

  455. there's a king

  456. over every prince

  457. he rules in darkness but I've already read to you that in darkness the Lord

  458. becomes you light

  459. a defeated foe

  460. and lastly what you end up with

  461. is a sheltering place

  462. that little prayer save Lord

  463. Isaiah 59 and one reads behold the land the Lord's hand is not shortened

  464. that it cannot save neither his ear heavy

  465. that it cannot hear

  466. the apostle James remind us that we have not because we ask not

  467. the Lord himself encourages to Matthew 7 saying asking it shall be given seeking

  468. you shall find not and it shall be open unto you

  469. prayer turns hope into a certainty

  470. in the fact that

  471. he may not remove the thorn

  472. but he will dispatch grace

  473. and if grace isn't enough for you I don't know what to tell you this morning

  474. if grace isn't sufficient for you then I have nothing else for you

  475. because you've come to the end of the resource if grace isn't enough

  476. for you I've talked to a lot of folk in my short time

  477. and I've read a lot of other testimonies of God's goodness and grace

  478. and I don't know that there exists in this room

  479. anything that his grace hasn't already been sufficient for

  480. I don't know what it would be

  481. your situation your dilemma

  482. his grace is sufficient it's enough

  483. that little thorns been in there long enough now it's become something I do I

  484. just caught myself again feeling that fester

  485. thinking I really need to get that out of there

  486. there may be some things in your life you really need God to get out

  487. and he may get it out but he may not

  488. what he may just do for you is when you're so weak

  489. he adds his strength into you through his grace

  490. I'd love to be able to stand up here and tell you that he takes everything away

  491. I can't tell you that

  492. but I can tell you this he'll make you better

  493. he'll touch you he'll strengthen you

  494. and the enemy is not going to rejoice over you because he will not allow that

  495. you're not going to get washed away because his promise in his word is when

  496. the enemy comes in like a flood he'll raise up a standard against him

  497. maybe you feel like you're just hanging on standing with me this morning you're

  498. just barely hanging on

  499. you're in the middle of the battle and it's raging

  500. and you're kindly questioning this victory part of this thing

  501. you're going to survive it

  502. you're going to get through it

  503. there may not be a parade waiting on you when you come through it

  504. but there is this

  505. come unto me all you that are labored and heavy laden

  506. I'll give you rest

  507. take my yoke on you

  508. I'll swap with you

  509. I'll carry you load for a little while

  510. everybody just come on down to this altar let's just get in here tied together

  511. because we've all got battles come on in here

  512. Abraham

  513. I know some of the war that some of you are in

  514. because I'm praying with you already about them

  515. some of the battles that you face some of the thorns that are festering

  516. you don't know what you're going to do with it

  517. you don't know how you're going to deal with it you've been dealing with it

  518. you may be on your second time praying through

  519. my god I feel the holy ghost this morning just wanting to love on you

  520. the lord wants you to know he's on your side he's on your side

  521. heavenly father your sons and daughters are standing before you at the altar
