  1. this past week

  2. June the sixth

  3. is a day that is marked in history and will ever be marked in history

  4. we know it is D-Day

  5. tens and thousands of lives were lost

  6. well over a hundred thousand

  7. people were killed

  8. over a hundred thousand injured and missing

  9. to acquire freedom from tiring

  10. and I don't know that we can ever think the people who went and

  11. fought, died, bled

  12. were tormented some to this day

  13. of what they saw and what they had to endure and what they had to go through

  14. we can never say thank you enough

  15. Amen

  16. we've received a special gift for

  17. our veterans and I know it's not veterans day but

  18. we'll do it again I don't think we can say thank you enough

  19. Amen

  20. I want to thank you for being a veteran of our armed services

  21. and you're a veteran of our armed services would you stand today

  22. all over the house

  23. ushers if you would give them a hand yes

  24. just remain standing our ushers

  25. they're going to be coming around they have something for you today

  26. just to show you how much we appreciate what you've done

  27. as a reminder for your service

  28. I know that there was a time in our history when we

  29. had a very ungrateful nation for the sacrifices that were made

  30. and many times I think people forgot

  31. that soldiers do not have a choice

  32. I guarantee you

  33. to a man you would ask them they would rather have been home as to been sent to

  34. where they were and endured the hardships that they had to send

  35. and go through and none of them deserved

  36. some of the treatment that they received when they got off an airplane at home

  37. amen so if you served in that unfortunate

  38. I know they call it a conflict but it was war thank you so much for your

  39. service and we honor you today one more time would you let our veterans know

  40. how much you appreciate them

  41. that coin serve as a reminder to you

  42. you have someone that loves you and a church that is praying for you always

  43. amen if you have your bibles turn away I'm not going to ask you to yo-yo again

  44. and stand back up I'm going to trust you'll stand on the inside

  45. turn with me to the book of Psalms in the 20th chapter

  46. I'll preach to you on a thought today it's simple grace is the victory

  47. grace is the victory

  48. the man

  49. I think the day is if I read correctly was

  50. the largest

  51. offensive ever unleashed

  52. over 150,000 forces

  53. on one day

  54. I'd love to say that that was the day that the victory was won but there were

  55. battles that still had to be fought after that day but the victory came a man

  56. I'd love to tell you in your life as a Christian that your victories

  57. have already been secured for you and you won't have to fight another battle

  58. but I can't tell you that today there will be battles

  59. to face because there's an enemy still at large

  60. for the child of God amen

  61. so let's read Psalm 20 for just a few moments

  62. the Lord hear thee in the day of trouble

  63. the name of the God of Jacob defend thee

  64. send thee help from the sanctuary and strengthen thee

  65. out of Zion remember all thy offerings and accept thy

  66. burnt sacrifice grant thee

  67. according to thine own heart and fulfill all thy

  68. counsel we will rejoice in thy salvation

  69. and in the name of our God we will set up our banners

  70. the Lord fulfill all thy petitions

  71. now know I that the Lord saiveth his anointed

  72. aren't you grateful he will hear him

  73. from his holy heaven with the saving strength

  74. of his right hand some trust in chariots and

  75. some in horses but we will remember the name of the Lord our God

  76. they are brought down and fallen

  77. but we are risen and stand upright

  78. save Lord

  79. let the king hear us when we call

  80. grace is the victory father I love you I thank you today

  81. for the power of your word and I pray that that word just enriches our heart

  82. and enriches our life enables us to leave here today in that

  83. grace full of victory I pray now Lord you touch every heart and every mind

  84. in the house Lord as we're here simply

  85. to draw near to you we give you

  86. praise for all things even the battle that we face because we know that you are

  87. with us as we glorify your name to you be praised forever

  88. in Christ's name the church said amen and amen give the Lord a good

  89. praise offering would you

  90. sometime back this thought was on my mind and I remember preaching it

  91. but I couldn't get away from it again this morning

  92. and I know the Lord have something to say to us again it's like songs

  93. we sing I get a blessing every time I sing them

  94. so listen for whatever it is

  95. you didn't hear the first time and catch it this time

  96. amen this 20th Psalm 20 and 21

  97. they do go together but they're separated

  98. both are battle songs they're battle hymns

  99. the 20th Psalm precedes the battle

  100. while naturally the 21st follows the battle

  101. in Psalm 20 we see a prayer for

  102. the king and a prayer for the battle

  103. while in Psalm 21 it is a praise for the victory

  104. that comes through and after

  105. Psalm 20 anticipates victory while 21 reflects

  106. on the victory the psalmist wrote this

  107. possibly during many of the trial

  108. times that he had many of the difficult times but some scholars maybe believe somewhere

  109. in 2 Samuel between 8 and 10

  110. as the psalmist would reflect and they would write and record

  111. this prayer that was offered up for the king as he goes out to battle

  112. one thing you need to know about David, David was the warring

  113. king he was the man after Gods own heart he was selected by God himself

  114. to follow Saul as king over Israel

  115. they sung the songs about David for a reason

  116. Saul has slain his thousands but David has slain his ten thousands

  117. right? one thing about David as the warring king

  118. his sword may have been worn but it was never rusty

  119. because he was the

  120. warring king of Israel

  121. the Psalm as it records an incessary prayer for the king himself

  122. just before he encounters the enemy in battle

  123. one thing we know is for certain battles will arise

  124. amen?

  125. conflict will present itself the enemy will

  126. come and face you, amen?

  127. therefore we have to

  128. have the goods so to speak

  129. to last and make it through the battle

  130. we have to have the goods to endure through the hard times

  131. I mean there are some hard times in life I'd love to tell you life is so sweet after you

  132. find Jesus but you really just get to deal with some hardships

  133. when you come to know the Lord because the devil then doesn't have you

  134. so he's out to get you back

  135. he's out to take you out

  136. so we got to have the goods and as we look at this Psalm this morning

  137. we think about what's going on through the battles

  138. it's grace that brings us the victory

  139. God's grace we say amazing grace how sweet the sound

  140. that saved a wretch like me I once was lost

  141. but now I'm found right?

  142. and we look at this Psalm we think about how God's grace is added and

  143. the people of God call out on the name of God because they know

  144. God will hear and answer isn't that what he said?

  145. the Lord hear thee in the day of trouble the Lord hears us

  146. when we pray when we call upon the name of the Lord so when we

  147. begin to look at this Psalm we have to think about something that there is one enduring

  148. fact and that is that God hears us when trouble comes

  149. never for a moment allow the enemy to convince you that God has

  150. not heard your prayer he has heard your prayer

  151. never allow the enemy to convince you God doesn't love you because he doesn't

  152. answer the prayer the way you told him to answer it

  153. a lot of our incessary

  154. is instructional prayers we instruct

  155. God how we want him to do what we need done hello

  156. surely I'm not the only one in here that does that I tell

  157. God best way for him to do it and make it better for me

  158. but the longer you go you realize it's about him

  159. and not necessarily all about you well I'm the one going

  160. through the trouble yes but it's his grace that gets you through it so be careful

  161. how you begin to question the grace that is sent your way

  162. that enduring fact enduring means lasting continuing it means stable

  163. the Lord hear thee it is so encouraging to

  164. know that the Lord not only hears our prayer but he is

  165. also ready to help us in the time of trouble

  166. the Lord hear thee in the day of trouble the name of the

  167. God of Jacob defends thee I am so

  168. grateful that he not only hears me but he is willing and

  169. able and desire us to enter into my supplication

  170. not my instruction but he enters into my supplication when I

  171. ask him oh God I need your help whatever you deem necessary

  172. do that grant that him here's my situation but however

  173. you see fit to help me I am here ready willing

  174. and able to accept that help that you bring into my life Jesus

  175. said in John 15 and 7 if you abide in me and my words abide in you

  176. you shall ask what you will and it shall be done under you

  177. there's an enduring fact that the Lord is on your side and he hears

  178. you when you pray the secret here is that little word

  179. if if you're abiding if it's a it's a conditional prayer

  180. it's a conditional promise if you're where you're supposed to be

  181. God will do what he has promised to do if you are where

  182. you're supposed to be then God will provide the help that he has

  183. promised he would provide for you and me in our life and in

  184. our situation but let me just share something with you that help doesn't

  185. always show up like I think it ought to show up that's the

  186. reason Romans said Paul would be inspired by the spirit to record those

  187. words all things work together for good to those who are called according

  188. to his purpose those who love him right all things work together for good

  189. well I'm here to tell you right now I've seen some things working that I didn't think were so

  190. good but God in his infinite wisdom over my finite

  191. in capabilities he knows what I need when I need it how I

  192. need it and if I'm where I'm supposed to be he'll do what he

  193. has promised to me to perform over my life and somewhere along

  194. the way good is going to be extracted from every situation

  195. oh it may not turn out the way I want it it may not turn out the way I picture it

  196. and it may not be the end result that I desire but for me and

  197. for you when it's over and said and done with if you are abiding

  198. then the promise is coming good is going to come your way it

  199. I know it may not be good here below it may not be good in life it may not

  200. be a good circumstance it may not be good anyway we can see it

  201. but somehow the goodness of God is going to make its way through every

  202. dilemma and every situation in your life if you are where

  203. you're supposed to be the Lord hears you in your day of trouble

  204. if you abide in me

  205. favorable answers in

  206. prayer are always conditional and the

  207. condition is on our end not God's there are always

  208. conditional in accordance to my and your faith and our

  209. obedience to what God's word says his word is

  210. settled in heaven heaven and earth shall pass away but you know

  211. what's not going to pass away his word will stand for

  212. ever and ever and ever and ever his word is established

  213. so the condition is not on his end the condition

  214. is on our end the condition is where you find yourself if you're

  215. in doubt you're not going to get a faith answer if you're in disbelief you're

  216. not going to get a faith answer but if you're in faith and you're in believing

  217. and you're abiding in him he's going to hear you in your day of trouble

  218. first John five fourteen fifteen and this is the confidence that we have in him

  219. I just want to know does anybody have any confidence in God today or

  220. has the devil can deceive you and treat you and lie to

  221. you and try to break your confidence in God we have this

  222. confidence in him I am confident in him

  223. I'm here to tell you he doesn't do everything the way that I think he ought to do

  224. it but I'm not God and his ways are higher than mine his ways

  225. are past finding out I have learning I'm trying to learn as I

  226. go through this walk of faith that I simply just trust God for

  227. the end result and it's not it's not easy sometime

  228. to have but I have seen God do some great and mighty things

  229. and it builds my confidence in him that he hears me

  230. when I pray and in my day of trouble he is

  231. aware of my dilemma we have this confidence that in him

  232. that if we ask anything according to his will

  233. if there it is again that conditional phrase

  234. if we ask according to his will

  235. now you know what you won't done right

  236. I know what I won't done in any given particular situation

  237. but that necessarily may not be his will

  238. for my situation my circumstance or my dilemma

  239. something we do not like to accept is a simple fact what Peter said

  240. if need be there's a manifold

  241. trials and temptations that are coming your way

  242. if it's necessary

  243. do you know it requires some of those things to be necessary for you to

  244. surrender your will to his will

  245. oh I know that's not I'll shout and chandelier swing

  246. and preach him right there because that puts the onus back on us doesn't it

  247. it puts the condition back in mind your court

  248. it puts us trusting God even if he deems it necessary for us to walk through

  249. a wilderness for a little while even we may have to go through a fiery

  250. furnace or two in life and we have to trust God and somewhere along the way

  251. you've got to get enough muster about you to have confidence in God

  252. that if you ask in accordance to his will he'll grant it to your life

  253. if it's not his will you and I do not need it anyway

  254. you do not want it if it's not God's will for your life

  255. here's a simple question has anyone been outside of the will of

  256. God before that's a miserable place to live

  257. a miserable place to live you may be sitting in

  258. here miserable right now and if you are hello

  259. little self inventory maybe you're outside

  260. his will I know this if there's active sin in your

  261. life you're on the outside looking in

  262. somebody say amen pastor preach to me get me to heaven somebody say would you

  263. shake that bush a little bit pastor I want to go to heaven I have my heart's

  264. desire set on heaven but I'm here to tell you if your will is contrary to his

  265. you're not going

  266. now look I listened I listened to brother

  267. Milton's message last week God's portion

  268. I listened to that and I told y'all he had spoiled you

  269. he just ooze his encouragement and then here I have to come with a plow

  270. I have to come in and tell you you can't go to heaven with active sin in your life

  271. you can't really shout about that especially if that's you I'm talking to

  272. without these I can't see you anyway

  273. and you balcony folk are in real good shape because I don't even know half who's up there

  274. so let's join you in the Lord and then see when I do put them on if you're past the podium I really can't see you

  275. so you're alright I have this confidence that if we ask anything according to his will he

  276. hears us and if we know that he hears how many knows he hears you

  277. here's his condition again if we know that he hears us whatsoever we ask we know that we have the petition that we desire of him

  278. if you know that he hears you stop panicking in life

  279. well it ain't going so well well it might be one of them need be seasons in your life

  280. Paul said I'd rather glory in the sufferings that I have how many of you want a glory in your suffering

  281. no human nature is that we want pity

  282. we won't pity in our suffering we don't glory in them why well mainly because we're suffering

  283. you're in pain you're in agony you're in anguish it's hard to find glory in those situations

  284. but somehow for the child of God the condition is the if and if we have confidence in him

  285. knowing that he's able knowing that God hasn't forgotten nor forsaken and we have this enduring fact that the Lord hears us

  286. and he knows what we need

  287. Psalm 56 and 9 says when I cry unto thee then shall mine enemies turn back

  288. listen to this last phrase this I know for God is for me

  289. how many ever heard the name Charles Spurgeon known as the Prince of Preachers

  290. he made this statement concerning this verse listen to this

  291. it is impossible for any human speech to express the full meaning of this delightful phrase God is for me

  292. he was for us before the worlds were made are you still with me

  293. he was for us or he would not have given his well-beloved son

  294. he was for us when he smoked the only begotten and laid the full weight of his wrath upon him

  295. he was for us though he was against him he was for us

  296. when we were ruined in the fall he loved us not withstanding all he was for us

  297. when we were rebels against him and with a high hand forbidding him defiance he was for us

  298. or he would not have brought us humbly to seek his face he has been for us in many struggles

  299. we have been summoned to encounter host of dangers we have been assailed by temptations from without

  300. and within how could we have remained unharmed to this hour if he had not been for us

  301. he is for us with all the infinity of his being with all the omnipotence of his love

  302. with all the infallibility of his wisdom arrayed in all his divine attributes

  303. he is for us eternally and immutably for us for us

  304. when yon blue skies oh I love this when yon blue skies shall be rolled up like a worn out vesture

  305. for us throughout eternity and because he is for us the voice of prayer will always ensure his help

  306. when I cry unto thee then shall mine enemies be turned back grace is going to bring you the victory

  307. this is no uncertain hope but a well grounded assurance the psalmist said this I know

  308. I will direct my prayer unto thee and will look for the answer assured that it will come

  309. and that mine enemies shall be defeated for God is for me

  310. oh believer Spurgeon said how happy art thou with the king of kings on thy side

  311. how safe was such a protector how sure thy cause pleaded by such an advocate

  312. if God be for thee then who can be against thee

  313. I'm here to tell you an enduring fact that God is for you and he hears you in your day of trouble

  314. do not panic because grace will usher to you the victory that you need to acquire in your life

  315. with all

  316. hallelujah

  317. I didn't know I was going to get this bent out of shape this morning

  318. hallelujah

  319. you have the enduring fact know this you also have a strengthening force by your side

  320. amen

  321. he said he strengthens thee in the second verse

  322. he hears you in your day of trouble and he strengthens you

  323. that word strengthen means simply to support to hold up

  324. when you don't feel like you're going to stand when you feel like the weight of the world is going to tear you down and knock you over

  325. he will strengthen you he will uphold you in your day of trouble

  326. Micah 7, 7 and 8 therefore listen therefore I will look unto the Lord I will wait for him the God of my salvation

  327. my God will hear me rejoice not against me oh mine enemy when I fall when I fall when I fall

  328. I shall arise and when I sit in darkness the Lord shall be a light unto me

  329. you need to get it down in your heart he is going to hear you and then he's going to strengthen you

  330. do not rejoice over me oh mine enemy when I fall I shall arise

  331. when are you going to tell yourself I may be down but honey I'm not out it ain't over it ain't over

  332. and I love what he said the old prophet declared it when I sit in darkness thy light will be there for me

  333. you will be my light when you feel like you're inundated with darkness and darkness is all around

  334. and you feel like the devil's got the upper hand in your life hear me child of God

  335. he's your strengthening force and he is the one who will ever endure when you're down you shall arise

  336. don't stand over me devil don't look over me don't you dare look down on me I may be down today

  337. but I'm coming up tomorrow because the grace of God is going to usher the victory to me

  338. well hallelujah

  339. some of you sitting in the dark rooms of life waiting on the negatives to be developed

  340. huh ain't that the way we do

  341. we unroll a spool of negative and we get in a dark place waiting for it to develop

  342. well I'm ready to expose some film

  343. to the light

  344. who needs a negative hello

  345. I'm ready to expose the negative to the light

  346. and let his glory radiate in the negativity of my life

  347. somehow someway I've got to determine in myself that the grace of God will usher the victory that I need

  348. and that I'm requiring at this very moment and the devil needs to be notified in your life

  349. I may be down but I'm getting up and don't you dare stand over me pointing a finger at me looking down at me

  350. I may be sitting in darkness but the glory of his light is coming my way and I refuse to accept the negative

  351. let your ushering in

  352. hallelujah

  353. strength of the Lord is the force that will take you through every battle

  354. somebody needs to know it's always sufficient

  355. God's grace is never insufficient

  356. what does that mean?

  357. that means that whatever he sends you is enough to get you through whatever it is you're facing

  358. part of the problem for most of us is we get so down in our negatives

  359. that all we can do is make juniper juice and pout with an old prophet by the name of Elijah

  360. and just throw our hands up and quit

  361. I'm telling you don't quit

  362. you can't quit

  363. if there's no crying in baseball then surely there's no quitting in church

  364. don't quit

  365. look at your option

  366. my lord I'm about to preach

  367. look at your options in quitting

  368. look at your options of refusing the grace of God

  369. walking away from the tender hand of his mercy

  370. you walk straight into the hands of a torturous enemy

  371. crawl your sorry hide back into a bar stool and see where an empty bottle gets you

  372. it'll put you right back in the gutter that he pulled you up out of

  373. I'm going to show you my age roll your newbie and see where it takes you

  374. take you straight to a devil's hell

  375. rot you from the inside out

  376. hello

  377. versus the option

  378. make your way to an altar

  379. and let the all sufficiency of his grace strengthen you one more time

  380. he won't put you back in the gutter

  381. he won't separate your mind from thought

  382. he'll bring you back to your composure

  383. so that you can look the devil in your eye and resist him so that he flees from you

  384. so that you can arise with the glory of God that lives in you

  385. for greater is he that's in you than he that is in this world

  386. there is no other option

  387. it's like supper at the house when we were kids

  388. there was no other option

  389. if it's on the table you ate it or done without

  390. and I ever told you I despise goulash

  391. I ever told you that was my dad's favorite meal

  392. you know how many nights I went to bed either with a whip and are hungry

  393. several

  394. mom knew dad liked it so

  395. that's what you had

  396. I mean I took a mini of striping

  397. I despise that stuff

  398. now I like manwich

  399. but manwich and mama's goulash

  400. I mean that's so far away

  401. it's not the same

  402. there's some things in life that you're not going to like

  403. but you're going to have to deal with it anyway

  404. you're going to have to allow God's grace to sustain you

  405. you may have to fast like I did

  406. and like I probably need to be doing today

  407. I never told Sister Kathy the recipe to goulash

  408. so we do not have that dilemma at our house

  409. there's things in life that you're going to have to deal with that are not necessarily your favorite things

  410. but you're not left to deal with them alone

  411. His grace, those thorns of your life, those

  412. afflictions that come your way, that enemy that is sent from hell to come against you

  413. Paul talked about that thorn in the flesh

  414. it was an angel sent from the devil to buffet him to come against him

  415. and he wanted it gone

  416. and he prayed and touched heaven on three different occasions

  417. until he heard from heaven

  418. said Paul my grace is sufficient for you

  419. it may not change the way you want it to change

  420. but accept the grace that's being offered to you

  421. because of sufficiency

  422. I found one description toward this word in the Greek and actually it was hunky dory

  423. I thought you really want me to pray? I'm going to pray. Yeah, say it, might as well

  424. sufficient

  425. His grace is hunky dory for your life

  426. yeah, come on think about it

  427. it's sufficient, it's adequate, it's enough, it's hunky dory

  428. somebody need to hear that this morning

  429. no, the situation may not change the way you want it to change but his sufficiency is hunky dory in your life

  430. you're going to have adequate supply from heaven to endure whatever it is that's coming your way

  431. because he's heard you and he will strengthen you

  432. you got a few more minutes?

  433. Paul learned that lesson

  434. as sufficiency of God's grace empowered him

  435. to overcome every circumstance that was sent against him

  436. too many times in battles we try to go it in our own power

  437. we try to go in our own strength

  438. and so we fail every time

  439. the only way to get through

  440. the battles of life is simply to rely on the strengthening power of God's grace and his help

  441. that's the only way

  442. Psalm 63 and 7 because thou hast been my help therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I praise

  443. somebody's in a shadow and you need to start praising your way out

  444. well there's nothing to praise about

  445. oh really?

  446. you really want to go there?

  447. what about everything he's already done?

  448. what about all those battles he's already brought you through?

  449. is that not enough? is it what you do for me lately? is that all you got?

  450. well that's pretty sad

  451. you've not done anything for me lately so therefore I'll hold back my praise

  452. well there's one of those conditions

  453. you need to get under the shadow of his wing and start lifting up your praise

  454. because he is good

  455. he has been good

  456. and will always be good regardless of what life has brought our way

  457. oh life, I've said it many times, life stinks sometimes

  458. it's not always positive, it's not always up

  459. but for the child of God it's better than the lemonade theory for the world

  460. isn't that what they say? life gives you lemons will make lemonade?

  461. well I'm of the southern camp of lemonade

  462. if it ain't sweet lemonade I don't want it

  463. hello? it's like tea, who drinks unsweet tea? unless you're diabetic, don't go there

  464. but there's no way you can dislike the flavor of Lipton unsweet tea

  465. you tell me that? I want to look at your taste buds, they've been scorched

  466. you have learned to drink it, but it don't taste good

  467. it's like drinking tar like some of you drink, call it coffee

  468. nothing pleasurable about that, you've just adapted to where you can drink it

  469. that's the way it is with life sometimes

  470. part of our problem is we've just gotten to where we can tolerate it

  471. I'm not going to stop right there and preach, we don't have time, I'm going on

  472. Paul finally made his way to where he could declare, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

  473. he made his way all the way from this thorn

  474. to making that declaration, it's not I that lives, but it's Christ that lives in me

  475. and he could talk about the hope of glory

  476. that he could declare, I have not seen, neither is the ear heard

  477. and it hasn't entered into the heart of man

  478. what good God has in store for him

  479. while he's dealing with a festering thorn

  480. praise him anyway

  481. a steady faith always overcomes

  482. verse 7 that psalm said we will remember the name of the Lord our God

  483. I think sometimes we forget who it is we actually serve

  484. right? Abraham called him what? Jehovah Jireh

  485. why? because the Lord has seen and he heard

  486. and not only did he see and hear, but he provided

  487. right? to Gideon, Gideon declared him as Jehovah Shalom

  488. Jehovah who is our peace

  489. right? you know the guy threshing wheat at the wine press

  490. wrong harvest, wrong place, but for fear he's hiding

  491. and God finds him there and he calls him out

  492. Gideon, thy mighty man of valor

  493. it's like me when I go some places and these guys try to introduce me

  494. like I need an introduction to preach later

  495. they go through all these accolades and things and I look at the door and wonder who's coming in to preach

  496. that's the same way with Gideon, thou mighty man of valor

  497. he said who are you talking to and where is he at?

  498. is that another boy around here named Gideon?

  499. I'm scared to death, it's pretty obvious, I got my wheat at the wine press

  500. afraid of the enemy, but can I tell you God knows more about you

  501. when you accept the anointing that he places in and on your life

  502. and you operate in and through that anointing, he knows what you become

  503. when you allow him to become on you and use you and in you and through you

  504. he knows what he's capable of so therefore he knows what you're capable of through him

  505. Gideon, thy mighty man of valor

  506. you know, let me know the story of Gideon

  507. several thousand he has in his army

  508. till God says I can't use every one of them, let's start weeding them out

  509. who else is scared, go home, two thirds of his army left

  510. time is over and said and done with, Gideon's got 300 good old boys

  511. red neck as red neck can be, hello

  512. and then he gets his instruction, gets you a pitcher and a candle

  513. get a horn and get up on the hill

  514. look, all you're waiting on is some instruction

  515. all you need is some, grace will usher to you the victory

  516. he's confident in who he is

  517. and he's confident in what he can do in you and through you

  518. if you trust him

  519. if you trust him, stand with me, I'm not finished by any stretch but I know you're about done

  520. a steady faith, remember who the Lord your God is

  521. know for a fact

  522. that our foe is already defeated

  523. already defeated

  524. one spiritual principle that the average Christian has never fully understood

  525. it is in that they think that Satan still has the upper hand in all earthly things

  526. it's not so

  527. Christ defeated Satan

  528. Romans 5, 17 puts it this way

  529. for if by one man offense

  530. death reign by one

  531. much more they which receive an abundance of grace

  532. and the gift of righteousness shall reign in life

  533. by one, Jesus Christ

  534. the thief cometh not but to steal, kill and to destroy

  535. but Jesus said I've come

  536. that you might have life

  537. and have it more abundantly

  538. grace is the victory that we look for

  539. it's the all sufficiency of God's

  540. enabling power to our

  541. weak and mortal lives

  542. part of our dilemma also comes is when we try to see God

  543. in light of our own strength and weaknesses

  544. we

  545. it's just a subconscious thing we do because of our human nature

  546. we compare God's ability with our strength and inability

  547. we think cause we can't get it done that

  548. God can't get it done

  549. but I'm here to tell you something this morning God can

  550. he can

  551. a lot of things we don't like to face in life

  552. we don't like to fully accept the will of God

  553. because the will of God sometimes isn't favorable

  554. in our life

  555. you think all those people leaving

  556. was favorable to get in

  557. we know now that God provided for Abraham a realm on top of the mountain but

  558. Abraham didn't know that when he was climbing up the hill

  559. Abraham didn't know just yet when he put the stones together for the altar

  560. Abraham hadn't heard the ram caught yet when he laid Isaac down

  561. still no interjection when he lifted his hand

  562. but it was then

  563. what are you saying all that for pastor I said you got to walk all the way through it child of God

  564. you can't quit

  565. can't give up you can stop he's already been too good to you

  566. and his grace will bring you the victory his grace is sufficient

  567. needless to tell yourself it's hunky-dory

  568. it's hunky-dory

  569. tell your doctor that I'm hunky-dory how you doing I'm just hunky-dory

  570. what does that mean his grace is sufficient father I love you this morning

  571. thank you for your goodness your mercy and your grace

  572. over the household of faith this morning

  573. Lord I know this is the word you burn in my heart you wouldn't let me go any other place

  574. you arrested me right here

  575. there are those here this morning who needed it

  576. because every situation is not ideal

  577. but your grace is the victory

  578. I wonder this morning while heads are bowed

  579. how many of you feel like that prophet old Micah when he was sitting in the dark room anybody

  580. lift your hand up you feel like you've been in a devil just making fun of you in the dark place

  581. how many of you feel like him in that verse 7 when he said I may be down

  582. but don't stand over me I'm getting up

  583. how many feel like you've been knocked down life just took took the sails

  584. and ripped holes in them and you're sitting still

  585. heavenly father over this group

  586. those who are standing in this sanctuary today

  587. I'm praying for the all sufficiency of your grace

  588. let your glorious light penetrate to the darkness which they feel surrounding them

  589. let your light shine

  590. those who feel knocked down extend your hand

  591. and may they declare with the psalmist he picked me up up out of the miry clay

  592. and he set me up on a rock and established my goings

  593. pick up your children Lord pick them up they feel as though they've been steamrolled by life and ran over

  594. your word today the grace your grace is sufficient as encouraging us this morning

  595. father I pray over each one today

  596. add your grace because your grace is the victory

  597. the ninth verse of that 20th Psalm said save us

  598. sometimes that's all we can get out Lord save me

  599. hear the prayers of your people the petitions of their heart

  600. encourage each one in this room today father

  601. we'll be quick to praise you for your goodness and your mercy

  602. and the abundance of your grace

  603. amen amen could you give the Lord a good praise offer him for his grace
