  1. There is a new day written down in glory. Amen.

  2. And when my name is called in glory, I'll be

  3. there. For the Lord has heard and answered every

  4. prayer. And with him I've made it right, justified

  5. within his sight. So when my name is called in

  6. glory. I'll be there. Amen. That new name, it

  7. got written down. It's going to be called one

  8. day. Amen. And I'm going to be there. I'm going

  9. to be able to say, yeah, when the roll is called

  10. up yonder, I'll be there. Right? Oh, when the

  11. roll is called up yonder. When the roll is called

  12. up yonder. Oh, when the road is called up yonder,

  13. when the road is called up yonder, I'll be there.

  14. Amen. Well, glory. If you have your Bibles, turn

  15. with me to the book of Acts, Acts 27. Putting

  16. the pressure on today. It's only 10 after 11.

  17. I mean, y 'all liable to get out here before

  18. 12. I seriously doubt it, but it's a good thought

  19. anyway. Surely you're not going to preach that

  20. long. Well, I don't know. We'll just have to

  21. see how it hits me here in a minute. Amen? I

  22. mean, what else you got to do? You got all cleaned

  23. up, dressed up, brushed your teeth, combed your

  24. hair, got your Sunday best out, and I mean, what's

  25. the hurt? Right? I mean, let's enjoy it for a

  26. little while. Amen? Hallelujah. Acts 27. Verse

  27. 18. And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest.

  28. The next day they lightened the ship. And the

  29. third day we cast out with our own hands the

  30. tackling of the ship. And when neither sun nor

  31. stars in many days appeared. and no small tempest

  32. lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was

  33. then taken away. But after long abstinence, Paul

  34. stood forth in the midst of them, and he said,

  35. Sirs, I love this part. This is, I told you so.

  36. Sirs, you should have hearkened unto me and not

  37. have loosed from Crete and to have gained this

  38. harm and loss. And now I exhort you to be of

  39. good cheer. For there shall be no loss of any

  40. man's life among you but of the ship. For there

  41. stood by me this night the angel of God whose

  42. I am. And whom I serve. Saying fear not Paul.

  43. Thou must be brought before Caesar. And lo God

  44. hath given thee all them that sail with thee.

  45. Wherefore sirs be of good cheer. For I believe

  46. God. That it shall be even as it was told me.

  47. With the help of the Lord for the next ever how

  48. long, I'm going to speak to you on this thought.

  49. Shaken, but settled. Shaken, but settled. Amen?

  50. I'll pray for you if you pray for me, and we

  51. may get out of here before 12. Father, I love

  52. you. Thank you so much for your goodness and

  53. your mercy and the power of your word. The abundance

  54. of your grace and the anointing that so stirs

  55. in this house today. Now, Father, I ask according

  56. to that liberty that causes it to be easy to

  57. preach and that liberty that is in this house.

  58. Lord, help me today. Help me to preach. Help

  59. me to preach. Lord, let me preach. Let me declare.

  60. Let me speak forth. Lord, let a word of prophecy

  61. go out. Let's be encouraged today, Lord. Let

  62. your anointing so stir in this house today. And

  63. Lord, we'll be quick to praise you. Lord, those

  64. that have ears, may they hear what the Spirit's

  65. saying to them who are the church today. So use

  66. me today, Lord, as I stand before you a willing

  67. vessel, humbly before you, surrendered to you.

  68. In Christ's name, and the church says, amen and

  69. amen. Ask your neighbor, are you shaken? Are

  70. you shaken? To be shaken means to be moved, to

  71. be disturbed. The word settled means to have

  72. found resolve, to be resolved, to be fixed, to

  73. be established, and believe it or not, to be

  74. comfortable. Some of you are settling in, getting

  75. comfortable in these lumbar -supported, nice

  76. cushioned chairs. I think we did a catch -22

  77. on getting rid of the old slatted wooden pews,

  78. swapping out for padding. We get a little too

  79. comfortable sometimes in church, don't we? At

  80. least we'd have to move because it hurt our back

  81. sitting on those old wood chairs and them wood

  82. pews. They'd screech when us heavier people moved.

  83. And everybody would look around at you. You're

  84. just trying to get settled. The Apostle Paul

  85. was shaken. This 27th chapter of Acts. Man, there's

  86. too much in this to take a long time. Paul is

  87. on his way to Caesar. He's exercised his Roman

  88. citizen right to be tried before Caesar, and

  89. he's making his way to Caesar. And you have to

  90. know, back in the very beginning of Paul's conversion,

  91. he was destined to go to Rome. When they beat

  92. him with those rods, he hadn't been to Rome.

  93. When they had stoned him, lest him for dead,

  94. he hadn't been to Rome. That's the reason he

  95. didn't die in the street. He hadn't been where

  96. God said he was going to go and end up and be

  97. at. But we find him shaking. He had warned those,

  98. said, look, we need to stay here. We don't need

  99. to go any further. The weather's not as nice

  100. as you think it is, and I think we need to stay.

  101. Well. When a preacher tells a sailor to stay,

  102. and a sailor's not going to take that from a

  103. preacher, especially one who's a tent maker.

  104. So the sailor judges the weather, and the captain

  105. says, oh, it's nice, let's go. But I love the

  106. preacher. The preacher in the Apostle Paul. It

  107. has been storming for days and nights, just getting

  108. worse. They have tried their best to steady the

  109. ship. They've tried their best to get the skiff

  110. up close enough to escape. They have thrown the

  111. tackling overboard, trying to stay afloat. And

  112. after long abstinence, in other words, Paul had

  113. been fasting, here he comes in the middle of

  114. the storm. A verse or two past where we stopped

  115. reading, it talks about the 14th and the 15th

  116. day. They're right in the middle of this thing,

  117. three, four, five days in. The storm's raging.

  118. He's been fasting, no doubt praying. Anybody

  119. who knew God had been praying, seeking some relief

  120. because they are shaken by this tremendous storm,

  121. this tempest that has got them all upside down

  122. and inside out. And when sailors become worried,

  123. over the waves and the wind, then everybody else

  124. on the boat might ought to really start praying.

  125. Amen? Sailors have seen it all. They've seen

  126. large waves. They've been in great winds, but

  127. this one was different. Amen? This wind, this

  128. storm was different, and even they have become

  129. shaken. When they threw all the tackling overboard,

  130. that's a telltale sign that that's the last measure.

  131. We may go down with this one. But here comes

  132. the preacher up out of the belly of the ship,

  133. got a good hold on whatever's left standing,

  134. and he looks at them and says, Sirs, I love it.

  135. You should have listened to me. I told you we

  136. should not have left. Now, see, I think in this

  137. day and age in which we live, the preacher has

  138. gotten a little bit soft. Because we are really

  139. concerned about people's opinions and their feelings,

  140. and we don't want to offend people. Well, I'm

  141. here to tell you, I have been sent to offend.

  142. The Word becomes an offense to us. The Word of

  143. God becomes an offense to us because we offend

  144. the Word of God. Our actions, our lifestyle,

  145. right? And what good is a preacher just tells

  146. us all the time, oh, you're just doing great.

  147. Just keep doing what you're doing. What good

  148. is he? We need a man that's come up that's been

  149. fasting. We need a man that's been before God.

  150. We need a man called of God who's on a mission

  151. and who's on a directive. We need to hear from

  152. heaven. Sirs, you should have listened to me

  153. when I told you. And I, you know, I don't care

  154. to tell you. If I ever tell you, God says, don't

  155. do that and you do it, I'm going to look at you

  156. and I'm going to say, I told you, you should

  157. not have done that. And now the harm that it's

  158. caused, we've got to see what God can do to bring

  159. you out of it. Amen. But you should have listened

  160. to me. If I say something behind this desk and

  161. across this podium from the word of God that

  162. offends you, you might or let your ear get pricked

  163. and hear what does set the Lord. Because I don't

  164. know all of you deeply personally. I don't know

  165. everything that's going on in you. your life,

  166. but God does. And if he stirred my heart because

  167. I've been in prayer and you hear some warning

  168. say, you should not do that, you should not go

  169. there, then when all hell breaks loose in your

  170. life and you come whining to me, I'm going to

  171. tell you, well, didn't I preach that about two

  172. or three weeks ago? You were sitting there. I

  173. saw you. The Spirit of the Lord was moving. Why,

  174. oh, why, oh, why did you do it anyway? But okay,

  175. you've done it. Let's go back to the Lord. Sirs,

  176. you should have listened to me and not left out.

  177. But you did, and so here we are. But be of good

  178. cheer, my Lord, when all hell breaks loose and

  179. you're shaken because of life's dilemmas and

  180. the preacher's preached it and God has already

  181. warned it and you've done it anyway. Be of good

  182. cheer. He's a merciful God. Be of good cheer.

  183. He forgives and cleanses and purges and purifies.

  184. Be of good cheer. He is the healer and the deliverer.

  185. Be of good cheer. He still loves you. Be of good

  186. cheer. He has not forsaken you. And in the middle

  187. of the storm, even after your preacher said,

  188. I told you so, you hear from the Lord. Serves

  189. be of good cheer because the angel of God stood

  190. by me tonight. And he said, everything is going

  191. to be all right. Now look, the boat's a total

  192. loss. The ship's a goner. Hello? The ship's a

  193. goner. But if we all stay on board, we're not

  194. going to lose a soul. We're not going to lose

  195. one life. So be happy. So when we're shaken in

  196. life, We have to become settled. We have to have

  197. a resolve that sits in our heart and that sits

  198. into our life. And the apostle Paul went further

  199. on to tell them this. He said, I believe God.

  200. And somewhere in your resolve, somewhere in the

  201. settling of your soul and spirit, you've got

  202. to know if God has already spoken something into

  203. your life, you've got to settle on it. You've

  204. got to get resolved about it. You've got to get

  205. established with it, and you've got to grow comfortable

  206. in it. It doesn't matter even though the ship's

  207. going down around you because God has already

  208. forespoken. God has already said. God has already

  209. ordained. Paul, you will stand before Caesar.

  210. You may be looking like a drownded rat when you

  211. get there, but you are going to get there. You

  212. may be beaten. You may be bruised. You may be

  213. accused and persecuted in every way, but you

  214. will stand. Stand before Caesar. Somebody needs

  215. to hear it today. It doesn't matter how hard

  216. the storm is rising and the wind is blowing and

  217. how high the waves of life are. God said believe

  218. on him. Amen. Why? Because he stood by you. He

  219. has stood with you. He sent a word out for you

  220. to trust in him. And you've got to get a resolve

  221. about you to stand up and say, I believe. God

  222. serves. I believe God. So be of good cheer. Get

  223. happy. I'm telling you it's hard to get happy

  224. in the middle of the storm when everything about

  225. you is being shaken to its core. It's hard to

  226. get happy. What a way. What a time. What timing

  227. to hear the preacher say, be of good cheer. Look,

  228. my ship's aloft. We've done thrown our cargo

  229. and everything else over. Well, it ain't over

  230. yet. Before it's over, you may have to ride into

  231. the bank on one of its boards because she's coming

  232. apart from the seams. Get out of there. Hello?

  233. I'm here to tell you life may come apart at the

  234. seams, but God has already spoken. God has already

  235. declared. God has already said. And if he's thus

  236. said in your life, then be of good cheer. Everything

  237. else around you may come apart. But, sirs, we're

  238. going to be just fine. We're going to make it.

  239. When we think about the church, when we think

  240. about systems, when we think about movements

  241. that have arisen over the years, those that have

  242. been built around. Men and personalities and

  243. dogmas and doctrine, they're going to fall by

  244. the way. They're going to fall by the wayside.

  245. They're going to move and no longer be in existence.

  246. They're not going to have any way other than

  247. the materialistic things that they were built

  248. on and the carnality and the self -serving ideas

  249. that they've had and they've gone with. They're

  250. going to all die and fall by the way. But I'm

  251. here to tell you, the church. I'm here to talk

  252. to you about the church which you are a part

  253. of. Peter said we are lively stones, but we build

  254. up a spiritual house. Amen. And that spiritual

  255. house, he declares that we are chosen and that

  256. we are peculiar and that you are a royal priesthood.

  257. That's who you are. And you've got to get the

  258. knowing down in you that when life is shaken,

  259. God has already spoken something over his church.

  260. In Matthew 16, he poses the question to his disciples.

  261. Who do men? say that I, the son of man, am. What

  262. do people, Jeremiah, Isaiah, one of the other

  263. prophets, they don't really know who you are,

  264. Lord. And then he looks at them pointedly and

  265. he says, but who do you say that I am? My Lord.

  266. And there's something stirred up in the old loud

  267. mouth preacher, old Peter. There's something

  268. that stirred in the depths of his soul. And he

  269. made this declaration, thou art the Christ, the

  270. son of the living God. Blessed art thou, Simon

  271. Barjona, for flesh and blood has revealed this

  272. unto you. But my father, which is in heaven and

  273. upon this rock. I want you to hear me now. Upon

  274. this rock I will build my church and the gates

  275. of hell shall not prevail against it. If you

  276. are a part of the blood -born again body of Christ,

  277. hear me church, you're the ecclesia, you're the

  278. called out of darkness into his marvelous light.

  279. You are the church. Would the church stand up

  280. and give the Lord a good praise? If you're part

  281. of the church, would you stand to your feet and

  282. give the Lord a good praise? If you are called

  283. out and you know Come on, give the Lord praise.

  284. You and I, we are not going under. You and I

  285. are not going under. We may be shaken, but we're

  286. not going to be moved. You may be shaken to the

  287. core, and everything around you may come apart

  288. at the seams, but you and I, we will remain.

  289. You can sit back down. So you have to gain a

  290. resolve. If God says the gates of hell shall

  291. not prevail against me, then they're not going

  292. to. And if they do, he's a liar. But he's not

  293. a man that he should lie, could lie, or would

  294. lie. So it's not going to happen. Everything

  295. around you may fall to pieces, but you won't.

  296. Hey, hey. Everyone else may be shaken to the

  297. core and unsettled. But because of the promise

  298. of God over you as being the church, if you've

  299. repented of your sins and you're trying to live

  300. as holy as you possibly can every day and do

  301. what you can to please the Lord and live the

  302. Word of God and be Christ in this world, then

  303. you will be victorious. The gates of hell cannot

  304. prevail against you. Shaken but settled. Nowhere

  305. in the world does it say that we can't be shaken.

  306. Apostle Paul was shaken. Shaken enough to fast

  307. and pray. Worried until he heard from the Lord.

  308. And when he heard from God, he comes out onto

  309. the ship. Hey! Say! Listen to me. Storm rolling,

  310. waves spitting seawater. We're going to be okay.

  311. You should have listened to me. We wouldn't have

  312. been in this mess. Just like a preacher, we've

  313. got to get our word in. We wouldn't have even

  314. been in this mess if you'd have listened to me

  315. start with. But here we are. But be happy. angel

  316. stood with me tonight, and he told me that we're

  317. going to be all right. Everything's going to

  318. be okay. Hallelujah. Oh, I got a feeling right.

  319. Everything's going to be all right. He said,

  320. why? Because the angel of the Lord, whom I serve,

  321. the God of whom I serve, has gave me a reassurance

  322. tonight. Somebody needs to hear it, a reassurance

  323. today. You're going to make it. You're going

  324. to be okay. It's going to be all right. All hell

  325. may break loose, and it may fly apart. around

  326. you, but you are going to be okay. We don't like

  327. to hear that. We want to hear that everything

  328. else is going to be okay too. No guarantee in

  329. that. The ship's coming apart. But the foundation

  330. that we stand on will remain firm. You're going

  331. to be okay. The foundation for the church is

  332. the word of God. By the way, which is Christ.

  333. I thought the foundation was Christ. It is. But

  334. you do remember he is the word. John 1 and 1

  335. in the beginning was the word. The word was God.

  336. The word is with God. The same was in the beginning.

  337. Right? He is the Word, the Rhema, and the Logos.

  338. He is the word, and the word is the firm, solid

  339. foundation upon which we stand. And according

  340. to Mark's recording in 1331, heaven and earth

  341. shall pass away, but my word shall not pass away.

  342. The word of God is more powerful than any two

  343. -edged sword, amen, dividing asunder even to

  344. the soul and to the morrow. Why? Because it's

  345. sharp. It's a razor blade. It cuts to and fro,

  346. and it's able to bring about and equip those.

  347. and to establish why, because it's a discerner

  348. in the thoughts and the intents of the heart.

  349. It's the Word of God, and it's what we stand

  350. on. And if Paul stood up and said, I've heard

  351. a word from God, everything's going to be okay,

  352. then everything will be fine. If you follow the

  353. directive, are you hearing me? If you follow

  354. the instructions, everyone will be safe. But

  355. if you try to jump overboard, if you try to go

  356. out on your own and save your own life, your

  357. own life will be. lost. So stay in the ship.

  358. Can I tell somebody the first thing the devil

  359. wants you to do is bail out and go it on your

  360. own. Somebody hurts your feelings at church.

  361. Somebody makes you mad at church. The preacher

  362. don't do this or he does that or somebody does

  363. this. The first thing the devil will get you

  364. to do is jump out. He'll get you out of the boat.

  365. He'll get you out of the ship and get you going

  366. on your own. And if the devil can get you going

  367. on your own, he will destroy you. There's safety

  368. in numbers and there's safety on board of the

  369. ship. There's safety in the church. Oh, I'd love

  370. to tell you the church is perfect. It's not because

  371. I attend here. So that ruined that right off

  372. the bat. The man behind the pulpit is not perfect.

  373. No amens from the front row. She's a little slow

  374. this morning. She missed that one. Secondly,

  375. you came in. Your husband came in. Your wife

  376. came in. Your heathen children came in. And just

  377. a little sidebar, you can beat most of the devil

  378. out of them. Not all of them, but you put a lot

  379. of them on the run. Amen? There's a real good

  380. cure for a smart mouth. And if you ever want

  381. to know, come ask me and I'll give you my cure.

  382. It works. At least it works while they're in

  383. your presence. The foundation is flawless. The

  384. foundation is firm. It's the word of God. It's

  385. the promise of God. In today's society, in this

  386. culture in which we live in, dishonesty and abuse

  387. of confidence is running rampant. It's everywhere.

  388. There's not much any of us consider perfect anymore.

  389. Amen? Look at our poor old government. I quit

  390. watching the news. It's not fitting to watch.

  391. You can't even trust the weather. They have no

  392. clue. Best thing you can see is that $500 pay

  393. it forward by a McMahon law firm. That little

  394. segment, somebody's trying to do something good

  395. in the community and they're actually getting

  396. rewarded for it. The rest of it, you can't half

  397. trust it. Right? It's all, you just can't trust

  398. it. See, that imperfection almost came out my

  399. mouth. And the more you see, the more they dig,

  400. it's there. But the foundation that you and I

  401. are established upon, church, is perfect. It

  402. is the perfect law of God. It is the perfect

  403. word of God. It is the perfect son of God. It's

  404. all based upon Christ. And it is flawless. And

  405. it is firm. And it's formidable. And Jesus said

  406. it and declared it. The gates of hell shall not

  407. prevail against it. Then know this. Get it in

  408. your head. Get it buried in your heart. You will

  409. be saved. the victor and quit thinking about

  410. materialistic things in this world and having

  411. all of it and most of it or some of it as that

  412. point and sign of victory because that is not

  413. the sign and the point of our victory. It's that

  414. we keep and maintain the faith all the way to

  415. the end. Amen. Then we receive the reward. This

  416. world is not your reward. God's Word is perfect

  417. and flawless. There are many denominations in

  418. the world today who started out well but have

  419. forfeited the race. They are entangled in warfare

  420. over the word of God, the belief of the word

  421. of God. The inspiration of the word of God, is

  422. it literal? Is it figurative? How do we interpret,

  423. read it, and do what it says? That's how you

  424. interpret it. When we start trying to manipulate

  425. the idea and to formalize a definition for a

  426. scripture, what we most of the time are trying

  427. to do... is manipulate and formulate something

  428. that will please us because we don't like something

  429. that it's saying. And if we can rationalize and

  430. go around it and we can get to where we can be

  431. at peace in our own mind doing what we want to

  432. do, then we're all good. But the very moment

  433. when the Word of God resists your will and my

  434. will and the way we want to go, we get all been

  435. out of shape and people start to look for a way

  436. around it. harsh verbs. They want to do this.

  437. They want to exegete here. They want to exegete

  438. there. And they want to go on and try to make

  439. a thread hold their doctrine together. But it's

  440. the solid rope of the truth that we stand on.

  441. I had somebody the other day was talking about

  442. scripture, this or that. I said, well, how many

  443. scripture does it take to be the word of God

  444. and we have to do it? How many do you need concerning

  445. a subject or a matter? Well, I only found one

  446. verse that said I can't. Well, how many do you

  447. need? I mean, really. How many is it going to

  448. take for you? This is either the word of God

  449. or it's not. And if it is, then it doesn't take

  450. but one. Amen? God's word is true. It's perfect.

  451. And we've got to remember something. You've got

  452. to get this down. If the devil can ever get you

  453. to doubt any of it, he can get you to question

  454. all of it. And it's funny. He only gets us to

  455. question the parts. where it goes against the

  456. grain of what we want to do. Right? I had to

  457. help a parent here about a month or so ago. They're

  458. not from around here, so they brought their child

  459. and sat down. We began to talk, and the child

  460. began to... Began to say why they were having

  461. the problem. Said, well, I deserve an explanation.

  462. I said, you what? Well, I feel like I deserve

  463. an explanation as to why they say no. And I said,

  464. pray tell me why. You think you need one? Well,

  465. I need to know the reason. I said, the reason

  466. is they said no. His eyes get a little big because

  467. my blood vein popped up. So that's the reason.

  468. The reason you can't is because the scripture

  469. says don't. And there need be no explanation.

  470. Well, God, why? Well, because. If he really were

  471. to explain it to you, he could go down the litany

  472. of reasons as to where you would end up if you

  473. were permitted to do that. And the last point

  474. of reference would be hell. So I began to give

  475. a little explanation as to why. I said, well,

  476. right here, let me help you, son. Here is...

  477. The reasoning and the definition and the explanation.

  478. He's looking. Because they said so. I said, that's

  479. all you need. Shut your mouth. I know this person

  480. very well. I might not talk to your child that

  481. way. But I did theirs. I said, because they said

  482. so, son. Because they know where that could end

  483. up for you. And then a little light come on.

  484. Oh. I said, no, really, they just don't like

  485. you and they just want to punish you. I said,

  486. son, that's sarcasm. They just don't want you

  487. to be happy. They don't want you to have any

  488. fun whatsoever. God doesn't want you to have

  489. any fun at all. That's the reason there's all

  490. these can't dos. No, no. That's not why. He wants

  491. you to be in heaven with him. That's why. And

  492. he's holy. And if you're going to be around him,

  493. then you've got to be holy. And the only way

  494. to be holy is to take the do -nots and the don'ts

  495. and apply them to your life. But there's a whole

  496. lot more to the Word of God and loving God and

  497. serving God than the things that appease your

  498. flesh. There's the things that feed and appease

  499. the spirit of man that causes it to be a joy

  500. not to go, not to watch, not to listen, not to

  501. do, not to say, not to... I act not to behave

  502. the other way. Why? Because it brings great joy

  503. into your soul knowing that the firmness of the

  504. foundation is that you believe God and God has

  505. already said amen and already declared. And because

  506. I believe in that firmness of that foundation.

  507. write to Timothy in that second letter, fourth

  508. chapter, he said, for the time will come when

  509. men will not endure sound doctrine. They will

  510. turn away their ears from the truth and be turned

  511. unto fables. Why? Because fables tickle the ears.

  512. Fables tell you, well, just do what you want

  513. to do. You don't have to be born again. Just

  514. go to church every once in a while. Give a little

  515. to one of the special projects. You don't have

  516. to tithe. Why would you have to do that? Why

  517. do you have to give every week? You don't if

  518. you don't want to be blessed. I just so happen

  519. to want to be blessed, and I've proven it. And

  520. he does it. They're going to have their ears

  521. turned aside. In latter times, in the last days,

  522. some shall depart from the faith, giving heed

  523. to seducing spirits. Doctrines of devils. I don't

  524. know if you realize it or not, but there's a

  525. doctrine of cheap grace out there. That declares

  526. you just do whatever you want to do. In the end.

  527. You'll be okay. I don't think so. When I look

  528. at a vacant cross, no, no. He died for more than

  529. you and I just appeasing our flesh. I'm sorry.

  530. It cost heaven the royal diadem. It cost heaven

  531. the pearl above and beyond price. It cost heaven.

  532. The Son of God. His life. So that you and I could

  533. have life eternal. But not only that, so that

  534. we could have life in free pardon and cleansing

  535. of our sin. Amen? He paid that price. And do

  536. you think it was so cheap that you can just keep

  537. doing the same old junk? I don't think so. I

  538. don't think so. I've said it before and I'll

  539. say it again this morning. When the end comes

  540. and that second resurrection takes place and

  541. all the dead come forth and all the dead and

  542. the living stand before the judgment. I hope

  543. I have over preached this thing. I hope and pray

  544. that you've been able to smoke, drink. all that

  545. other junk, party, carouse, whatever. I hope

  546. that you'd be able to get by by doing that stuff.

  547. But I've got a feeling. And I believe God, and

  548. I believe God's Word. In Romans chapter 1, where

    Romans 1 chapter mention

  549. there's a list of everything that I did, all

  550. the lifestyles. There's a list of all of that.

  551. And at the end of the list, it says, and none

  552. of these shall inherit the kingdom of heaven.

  553. So with that, I'm just going to keep preaching.

  554. You can't live any way you want to live and still

  555. expect you'll see God, but you won't see heaven.

  556. You'll see God. You'll see him in his wrath.

  557. You'll see him in his judgment. I still believe

  558. God. I believe that in the beginning God created

  559. the heavens and the earth. I believe that the

  560. people were so evil they built a tower saying

  561. we're going into the heavens. We're going to

  562. make our way to God. And God confounded their

  563. language. Scattered men all over the earth. I

  564. believe that men's hearts grew so evil that Noah

  565. found grace in the eyes of God and received a

  566. divine blueprint for the ark of escape. I believe,

  567. according to the word of God, it took him 120

  568. years to build it. I believe the word of God

  569. where it said that it had not rained one day

  570. until God closed the door and the heavens opened.

  571. that it covered the face of the earth, the depths

  572. of the water. I believe God's word. I believe

  573. the children of Israel ended up in Egypt for

  574. 430 plus years, but I believe he sent Moses to

  575. lead his people out. I believe in doing so that

  576. the musicians of Pharaoh threw their staffs down.

  577. and they become serpents, and Moses cast down

  578. his rod, and it swallowed theirs up. You believe

  579. that? I believe that. Why? Because the Bible

  580. tells me so. I believe that when they left out,

  581. they got before the Red Sea, and Pharaoh's dust

  582. cloud is behind them, and the people are all

  583. up in arms. I believe. God said, Moses, what

  584. you got in your hand? I got my rod. Stretch forth

  585. your rod toward the sea. I believe that the old

  586. man Moses raised his rod and stretched it before

  587. the Red Sea and that each wind began to blow

  588. as the Word of God declares, I believe that it

  589. split the Red Sea. I believe the children of

  590. Israel walked through on dry ground. I believe

  591. it. I believe Isaiah, the eagle -eyed prophet

  592. who saw through time. I believe when he declared

  593. his name shall be called. Mighty God, Prince

  594. of Peace, Everlasting Father, right? You're going

  595. to call him Emmanuel for God is going to be with

  596. us. I believe Mary had it right when the Holy

  597. Ghost appeared to her. The angel said to her

  598. and said, look. Mary, thou hast found favor in

  599. the eyes of God. And the Holy Ghost is going

  600. to come upon you and you're going to conceive.

  601. And you're going to bring a son. And here's what

  602. you name that boy. You name him Jesus. Hallelujah.

  603. For he is the redeemer of all humanity. You name

  604. him Jesus, for he is Emmanuel, God. When you

  605. call him, and you know what I believe? When they

  606. took him in on that day, and the old prophet

  607. took him in his arms, and the Holy Ghost moved

  608. on him, and they called that boy Jesus. I believe

  609. at 12 years old, he stupefied the doctors and

  610. the Pharisees. I believe that he made his way

  611. down the dusty streets of Galilee and through

  612. Jerusalem. I believe he spoke to Bartimaeus and

  613. he healed his eyes. I believe he touched a bearer

  614. one day and a dead boy rose up. I believe it.

  615. I believe it. I believe it. I believe he healed

  616. the man that was at the pool of Siloam when he

  617. said, Will thou be made whole? And he began to

  618. make his excuses. And when he got done with his

  619. excuses, he healed him anyway. I believe God.

  620. I believe when he said, as Jonah was in the belly

  621. of the whale three days and three nights, so

  622. must the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth.

  623. I believe he was in the tomb for three days and

  624. three nights. But I also believe what he told

  625. them. You tear this temple down, and in three

  626. days, it's coming up again. I believe when Rome

  627. put their seal on the old stone and rolled it

  628. in front of the door, the guards stood at attention.

  629. I believe they were not slumbering. I believe

  630. they were not sleeping. But I believe they were

  631. fully awake when the ground began to shake and

  632. the stone was rolled away. Do you believe he

  633. was literally crucified? I believe he was literally

  634. nailed to a wooden cross. Do you believe he really

  635. died? I believe he gave up his last breath and

  636. the flesh died. Huh. I believe God. I believe

  637. those 40 days after that resurrection. I believe

  638. he walked with them. I believe he talked with

  639. them. I believe he was standing on Galilee's

  640. shores when he told Peter to come and dine. I

  641. also believe he began to levitate before their

  642. very eyes in Acts chapter 1. And I believe that

    Acts 1 chapter mention

  643. those angels actually stood by the disciples

  644. and spoke to them and said, you men of Galilee,

  645. why stand you here gazing? This same Jesus, in

  646. like manner as you see him go, shall return to

  647. earth again. I believe it. I believe we're in

  648. a warfare. I got seven minutes. I believe we're

  649. in warfare. I honestly believe, because the Bible

  650. says so, that there is a thief out there seeking

  651. to steal, to kill, and to destroy. And I become

  652. shaken in life with the ups and downs and the

  653. crisis. But I also believe if I don't lose my

  654. faith, I'm going to overcome it. I believe I've

  655. got to maintain my faith. I believe I've got

  656. to have good cheer, even though all hell's going

  657. on around me. Huh? The boat's coming apart at

  658. the seams. Shaken, but I'm settled. I've got

  659. a resolve about me. I have become resolved. No

  660. matter what, I'm not giving up. I'm not going

  661. to turn around. I'm not quitting. I'm not getting

  662. mad because one of y 'all hurt my feelings. I'm

  663. not quitting the church. It's a good thing me

  664. being the preacher in it. I'm resolved. My resolve

  665. happened a long time ago. Not six months ago.

  666. Not a year ago. My resolve came a long time ago.

  667. Right at 30 years ago when my resolve came. When

  668. I accepted this call, then I knew that I knew.

  669. Because I know that I know. I know me and I know

  670. him. And I know what's him in my life. I know

  671. what his hand is working. And I know what my

  672. little feeble hands can do. And my resolve come

  673. a long, long time ago. That's the reason it phases

  674. me not one bit to give. Whatever the Lord lays

  675. on my heart, I just give it. Why? Because I've

  676. had nothing. And still had good cheer. Because

  677. I had his word. And his word declared in my nothing

  678. that he would still not forsake me. I had his

  679. word and my resolve in the words of the psalmist

  680. David. I was young, now I'm old, and in all that.

  681. I've never seen the righteous forsaken or his

  682. seed begging bread. I've come in on the paddle

  683. and the boat and the boards and the planks of

  684. the ship that's come apart, but I always come

  685. in. I've stood to warm myself by the fire. You

  686. need to read the rest of that story that I read

  687. to you. I've stood to warm my hands by the fire

  688. and the serpent leap out and take hold of my

  689. hand, but I've also shook him off. What are you

  690. saying, pastor? I can say you can be shaken but

  691. settled. You can be shaken but established. You

  692. can be shaken and be comfortable because you

  693. have a resolve. Stand with me this morning. I

  694. quit. We're in a battle. But you have to know

  695. that the weapons of your warfare are not carnal,

  696. but they are mighty through God. To the pulling

  697. down of strongholds and casting down every imagination

  698. that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.

  699. I quit before 12, so I'd give you time to get

  700. down here. How many of you would honestly say,

  701. life is shaking me, Pastor? I got both hands

  702. up. I've been shaking. I've been shaking, but

  703. I'm settled. I'm settled. Because I know it really,

  704. somehow I know that it really doesn't matter

  705. if the boat comes apart. Because God said he's

  706. got me. He said, I'll never leave you. I will

  707. never forsake you. That's a promise in his word.

  708. That's a promise to every single one of you.

  709. If you love him, he loves you and he will not

  710. ever stop loving you. For God so loved the world

  711. that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever

  712. believeth in him should not perish. But have

  713. everlasting life. Look, I know life isn't always

  714. positive. Life isn't always grand. It wasn't

  715. grand for Paul. He's on a boat and it's going

  716. down. You may feel like you're on a boat and

  717. it's going down, sinking around you. Well, that's

  718. okay as long as you're safe in the arms of God.

  719. You're not the boat. You can get another boat.

  720. There's not another you. So with that, very simple

  721. this morning, I want to pray for us who feel

  722. like we're shaken. If you feel like life is shaking

  723. you to your core, that means crisis. It means

  724. emotional crisis. It means financial crisis.

  725. It means family crisis. It means any kind of

  726. crisis, work -related. If you're feeling shaken

  727. by life, And you want to be settled. You want

  728. to find comfort in the midst of the shaking.

  729. You want to find resolve. I need to get to where

  730. I can make my mind up that this stuff does not

  731. affect me. If that's you, I want you to make

  732. your way down.
