  1. You say, well, we've not sung yet. Yes, we have.

  2. We sung Power in the Blood. And you sung a little

  3. bit of Leaning on the Everlasting Arms before

  4. I got up here. My heart is stirred today. Just

  5. a little side note. We probably were not going

  6. to do Chili Cook -Off today anyway, had it been

  7. pretty. there's a 98 .3 % chance it would have

  8. been postponed anyway. I've just had a stirring

  9. that we needed to be in the house of the Lord

  10. today. Not that we wouldn't have been, and we

  11. would have screeched a little under the pavilion.

  12. Amen. We'd have had some word. We always do,

  13. don't we? We would have done that, and the Holy

  14. Ghost is just as... Welcome under the pavilion

  15. as he is in this sanctuary. Amen. So he could

  16. do whatever he wants to do with us inside or

  17. outside. But I just felt constrained to the Lord

  18. to be on the inside today. Amen. And so let's

  19. look. I don't know about you, but I'm nervous

  20. as a cat on a hot tin roof. Boy, I've just got

  21. the jitteries all inside, you know. Praying the

  22. Lord just has his way with us today. They're

  23. going to sing us out after a while. Amen. It's

  24. not that we're not going to worship. We're going

  25. to worship. Amen. Revelation 20 beginning at

  26. verse 1 reads, And I saw an angel come down from

  27. heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit

  28. and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold.

  29. On the dragon, that old serpent, which is the

  30. devil. And Satan then bound him a thousand years.

  31. And he cast him into the bottomless pit. And

  32. shut him up. And he set a seal upon him that

  33. he should deceive the nations no more. Till the

  34. thousand years should be fulfilled. And after

  35. that, he must be loosed a little season. I just

  36. feel really good today about preaching on shut

  37. him up. Amen. Shut him up. I'll pray for you

  38. if you pray for me and we'll leave here lifted

  39. in the grace and the glory of God. Father, I

  40. love you this morning. So thank you for your

  41. goodness and your mercy. Thank you for the power

  42. of your rich blessings. I thank you for the power

  43. of your word and not only the power of that word,

  44. but the promise of the word. This great promise,

  45. the time is coming when he will be wrapped in

  46. a chain. Such a great sermon titled years ago

  47. I heard. Somewhere in heaven, there's an angel

  48. polishing a chain. And Lord, that he will take

  49. hold of the old dragon, the old serpent, the

  50. devil, Satan himself, bind him up, cast him in

  51. a pit, and shut him up. Help us today, Father,

  52. in the name of Jesus. We thank you and praise

  53. you for all things. In Christ's name, amen and

  54. amen. You can be seated. There's a lot going

  55. on here and a lot already taking place by the

  56. time you get to the 20th chapter of John's revelation

  57. that he received. Just prior in verse chapter

  58. 19, you see the second coming of the Lord. You

  59. see him taking his authority. You see him speaking

  60. and claiming victory just from his voice alone.

  61. You see the declaration of who he is, that new

  62. name written on his vesture, King of Kings and

  63. Lord of Lords. John is seeing a lot of different

  64. things, and he's recording as the Spirit is laying

  65. on his heart. And he's writing these for our

  66. encouragement, for your and my encouragement.

  67. It's a warning. People see Revelation as a scary...

  68. And it can be when you look at it in the apocalyptic

  69. sense and the destruction of the earth. It's

  70. not really the destruction. It's the revamping.

  71. Amen. When it's going to be purged and cleansed

  72. by fire, we see all these things. You read about

  73. trumpets and vials and all these things being.

  74. Unleashed upon the earth, you see scrolls open,

  75. seals being opened, and the staging of the end

  76. of time. And it's very alarming. Amen? It can

  77. be very alarming. But it should not be alarming

  78. for the child of God. It should not scare you.

  79. You should not be afraid. of the words written

  80. in the book of Revelation. If anything, it should

  81. put a smile on our face in knowing that Jesus

  82. is coming. Amen. That that King of kings and

  83. the Lord of lords is coming in glory. Amen. He's

  84. going to be upon the steed of victory, and he's

  85. going to claim that victory for you and I. So

  86. we begin to wonder, are we nearing these times?

  87. And we could say yes, and we could say I don't

  88. know. We could say that the signs of the times

  89. are pointing to the return of the Lord and these

  90. things coming into fulfillment. Because they

  91. are beginning to align. The end times are beginning

  92. to unfold before our very eyes. But what you

  93. and I do not know is when the moment that the

  94. Father is going to say, Son, it's today. Go get

  95. my children and bring them. We don't know. We

  96. don't know how God works in eternity, in the

  97. span of time. We don't know what time means to

  98. God. Matter of fact, it doesn't mean anything

  99. to Him because He moves in the past and the present.

  100. in the future. He is there. God is existent in

  101. all points of what we know and how we have been

  102. refined and defined to what we call time. You

  103. always need to know that. Remind yourself, God

  104. is not restrained by time. He is the author of

  105. time. He is the creator of time. Time is in him,

  106. and that's how we receive what we have. In the

  107. dimension that we live, amen? God is in control.

  108. And it could be today that the trumpet sound,

  109. the archangel shout. The heavens open and Christ

  110. appear and stand with arms open wide saying,

  111. Come home, children. Come home. Come home, sisters.

  112. Come home, brothers. Come unto me. Amen. My Lord,

  113. wouldn't that be wonderful as we begin to think

  114. about that? But I know the alarm comes because

  115. we also understand what's going to be poured

  116. out on the earth. And we also know what's going

  117. to take place in the lives of unbelievers. It's

  118. going to be devastation. It's going to be tragic.

  119. Amen. But for a thousand years, guess where we

  120. came from? get to be we get to be at the marriage

  121. supper with the lamb amen we get to be sitting

  122. with him amen in his presence and and knowing

  123. but during this thousand years when we think

  124. about our text today and the title of this message

  125. shut him up amen i'm ready for the devil to be

  126. shut up Amen. Figuratively, amen. I am ready

  127. for him to be bound up with that chain, and I'm

  128. ready for him to be cast in that bottomless pit

  129. because of the devastation that he wreaks upon

  130. humanity. Are you hearing me? The devastation

  131. that he wreaks upon humanity. You look through

  132. Scripture all the way. You can find the word

  133. shut in many places and used in many various

  134. forms throughout Scripture. But mostly it's a...

  135. material or it's a figurative pattern of speech.

  136. And knowing that in the text that we're looking

  137. at today, it's a future event, it's a future

  138. promise that's what's going to take place on

  139. the devil. And I am one who is looking forward

  140. to that promise. And if we just had that alone,

  141. shouldn't that be grounds for shouting? I don't

  142. know what he says against you, but I'm ready

  143. not only to see him physically shut up, but that

  144. figurative form of just shutting his mouth. I'm

  145. ready. I'm ready to see that angel take a loop

  146. of that big spoke chain and wrap it around his

  147. face and gag him with it. I am tired of hearing

  148. the voice of the enemy. I grow weary, and as

  149. I grow weary, I don't know how you are, but I

  150. kind of get stank -eyed and cross -eyed the tireder

  151. I get, the shorter my fuse. Are you hearing me?

  152. I'm more easily irritated. when I've come to

  153. my limit and my limit is being encroached upon.

  154. I get very cranky. You say, surely not. Well,

  155. it's one of those flaws that I often remind you

  156. that I have. I'm short. And my patience with

  157. the enemy is worn. Not like it really matters

  158. a lot. I don't know that it matters a lot, but

  159. it does to me. My patience is wearing very thin,

  160. and I'm getting very weary, and I'm tired of

  161. everything that the devil is doing. I am sick

  162. and tired. tired of what he's doing to you, amen,

  163. and what he's saying against you. So not only

  164. am I ready to see him locked up and chained up

  165. in a bottomless pit, but I'm ready for him to

  166. be shut up, amen. I'm tired of hearing him. I'm

  167. tired of that sitting on my shoulder and hearing

  168. that voice speak negativity into my life. I'm

  169. tired of hearing it, amen. Every time we have

  170. prayer requests and I hear what's going on in

  171. your lives, You may think it doesn't move me,

  172. but I'm telling you, I'm deeply moved. Every

  173. time I hear that the devil is getting an upper

  174. hand in your life or in the life of your family

  175. members or your friends, it really just starts

  176. to... My mama used to use this phrase, irk. You

  177. about to irk me to no end, and that's about where

  178. I'm at. I'm about irked to no end. And so I'm

  179. ready to see that the devil is shut up. I am

  180. ready to encounter where we can go about a day

  181. and not hear his antagonizing voice, not hear

  182. his accusations, not hear the intimidation of

  183. the forces of darkness, not hearing how fear

  184. is rising and faith is diminishing. I'm ready

  185. for faith to... I'm ready for the voice of the

  186. enemy to be closed and to be shut down. I am

  187. ready. Understand and know this, from time's

  188. beginning, the devil ain't nothing but a loud

  189. mouth. He's always been a loud mouth and he always

  190. will be a loud mouth. You say, you're getting

  191. brave. Well, the spirit that's in me is greater

  192. than he that's in this world. So yes, I am getting

  193. bold and I am getting brave. Because again, I

  194. am tired of what he's doing against you. I am

  195. sick and tired of how he's coming against your

  196. family. And I, for one, am fed up. And I, for

  197. one, am ready to exercise in the authority that

  198. God has given us through the one. work of his

  199. son Jesus Christ and the power that works in

  200. us if truly greater is he that is in us than

  201. he that is in this world. Aren't you about to

  202. get irked? Aren't you about to get sick and tired

  203. of what the devil is saying against you and how

  204. he's coming in to deceive you? Aren't you about

  205. fed up with everything that he's coming against

  206. you with? I am fed up when he begins to be the

  207. accuser. He stands before God. day and night,

  208. and all he does is accuse the brethren. He is

  209. an accuser, but something you've got to know,

  210. he is a liar according to John's gospel. John

  211. said, you speak of your father who is not only

  212. a liar, but he is a lie, and everything that

  213. proceeds from his voice is a lie. I don't care

  214. if he tries to implement scripture. He'll always

  215. implement it wrong, and when you implement it

  216. wrong and you misquote it, it's a lie. unless

  217. it's directly from the word of truth. The devil

  218. is a lie. What are some of the common names through

  219. Scripture and titles? Satan, the most common

  220. name, meaning adversary or one who opposes. You

  221. do know that, right? The devil means false accuser

  222. or slanderer. Lucifer, his name, the name from

  223. a Latin translation of Isaiah referring to a

  224. fallen day star or sun of the morning. The serpent

  225. refers to Genesis' encounter with the great deceiver.

  226. There's Apollyon from the Greek and Abaddon from

  227. the Hebrew, which means destruction and destroyer.

  228. He is the accuser of the brethren. He is your

  229. adversary. Amen. Know that. Similar to Satan,

  230. adversary meaning opponent or enemy. Beelzebub

  231. meaning the lord of the flies or the ruler of

  232. demons. The dragon, a symbolic name, especially

  233. we read throughout Revelation. The tempter, a

  234. name given to him. when he tempts Jesus in the

  235. wilderness. The evil one, a direct description

  236. of his nature and character. Prince of this world

  237. and the prince of the power of the air. Titles

  238. described to tell you what his influence is.

  239. But what I know today, the one that I prefer,

  240. is he is a liar. Amen? And he is the father of

  241. them. And that's who I see him as, and that's

  242. all I know him to be, and that's all I care to

  243. know him as. And when he comes again, I just

  244. remind him you are a lie. And there's a difference

  245. between a liar and a lie. It's the very root

  246. source. He is a lie. And every accusation he

  247. brings against you and I begins with his mouth.

  248. I told you he is a loud mouth. And all he does

  249. is shoot off his mouth. According to Isaiah 14

  250. and 13, that's exactly what got him kicked out

  251. of heaven. For thou hast said in thine heart.

  252. I will exalt my throne above yours. I'm going

  253. to take dominion in the sides of the north. But

  254. let me tell you, no, you are not. You'll be on

  255. the sides, but you'll be on the sides of the

  256. pits of hell. That's where you are going. God

  257. established him. He said it in his heart. He

  258. said it and he believed it. And therefore, he

  259. was ruled over and cast out of heaven. I love

  260. what Jesus said. He said, I beheld him like lightning.

  261. and fallen to the earth. Come on, somebody. Oh,

  262. when God said get, he had no other option but

  263. to get. Can I tell you that greater is he that's

  264. in you than he that is in this world? And if

  265. you begin to resist the devil and the influence

  266. of the voice of darkness, then you exercise the

  267. authority that's been given to you. You can shut

  268. him up, and you can use the authority that's

  269. been vested in you because greater. Is he that

  270. is in you than he that is in this world? You

  271. can ask Adam and Eve. You can ask Abraham. You

  272. can talk with Lot. You can have a discussion

  273. one day with Moses. You can talk to David. Every

  274. temptation he uses against anyone and everyone

  275. involves his mouth. And I can't wait till he

  276. gets shut up. I know we're raised not to say

  277. that. That's not nice. Oh, don't say that's not

  278. nice. Well, it's a fact. I'm not saying it to

  279. be nice. I am not trying to be polite. I mean

  280. exactly shut. Aren't you about sick and tired

  281. of hearing it? Amen. I'm tired of hearing everything

  282. that he says. You know, he comes against you

  283. with junk like, well, you're sick. Well, you're

  284. tired. No, I'm sick and tired. Come on. You're

  285. hurting. You're in pain. You're weak. You're

  286. scared. Oh, you're just different. No, I can't

  287. get hung up this morning. You're just different.

  288. That's a lie from the pit. You're not different.

  289. You're being deceived from the accuser. He's

  290. trying to drag you to the place he knows in which

  291. he is destined to. He's trying to take you to

  292. hell with him. You're different. No, you need

  293. delivered is what you need. And if you're sick,

  294. you need healed. If you're hurt, he is the one

  295. who is able to apply his good grace. He begins

  296. to say, you're confused. You're struggling. You're

  297. depressed. You're oppressed. You're discouraged.

  298. You're disillusioned. And he begins to feed that

  299. junk to you. Let me tell you something this morning.

  300. You've got to shut him up. up the instant he

  301. begins that. If you are a born again, blood -bought,

  302. child of the living God, then you've got to declare,

  303. no, I am a royal priesthood. I am a chosen generation.

  304. I am the one who has been called in separate.

  305. I've come out of darkness. I'm in his marvelous

  306. light. And by the way you tell him that as he's

  307. on his way out, you resist the devil and he will

  308. flee from you. You've got to shut him up. He

  309. said to Eve in the garden, hath God not said?

  310. You know how he starts off putting words in God's

  311. mouth. Huh? Hath God not said? No, that ain't

  312. what he said. And the old serpent deceives and

  313. pulls you aside and drags you under. Job 1 and

  314. 9, Satan said unto the Lord. Doth Job fear God

  315. for naught? No, Job feared God for a reason.

  316. Just like I do. I don't fear God for naught.

  317. I'm not in awe and revere of God for naught.

  318. I got good reason. Amen, I got good reason. Why?

  319. But what did Jesus say? Don't fear man who can

  320. destroy the body, but you better have an awe

  321. and a revere and fear of God who can destroy

  322. both the body and the soul and the spirit. That's

  323. who you better have reverence to. There are people

  324. who are more reverent to the devil than they

  325. ever thought they would be to God. They are more

  326. polite to him. They're afraid they're going to

  327. hurt his feelings. That's my main goal in life

  328. is to hurt his feelings. Amen. That is my main

  329. modus operandi that every day that I walk in

  330. victory, I hope it gags him when he sees me get

  331. out of the bed in the morning and get up with

  332. a smile and beginning to sing, I see Jesus coming

  333. in the clouds. I hear trumpets sounding so loud.

  334. I hope he gets sick on it every day that I get

  335. up with the victory when he tries to discredit

  336. me, when he tries to diminish my faith, when

  337. he tries to tell me that God don't care. Devil,

  338. you are a lie. Get out of here. I long to see

  339. Jesus coming in the clouds. I'm going to lift

  340. my voice until he gets here. My God, it's time

  341. to shut him up. It seems as though I have the

  342. same struggle, fat or skinny. I can't keep my,

  343. that don't go out. I can't seem to keep my britches

  344. where they belong. When I was fat, y 'all would

  345. say, you need some spenders, pastor. I was holding

  346. out, I figured somebody would bring me a couple

  347. pair. But I've lost weight and I still can't

  348. keep up. My main goal is to offend the devil.

  349. That's why I'm here this morning. That's why

  350. we started with this first. I don't care what

  351. he thinks. Amen. I don't care what his opinion

  352. of what we do this morning in the house of God

  353. is. It's none. Of his business. Amen. It's nunya.

  354. What's that? Nunya business devil. Why we're

  355. proclaiming the word of God. Before we enter

  356. into worship. Amen. We're going to worship. We're

  357. going to pray. We're going to anoint with what

  358. oil we got left in the jug down here. Because

  359. I'm sick and tired. And I'm telling you, if you

  360. go home today without getting anointed, it's

  361. your own fault. You deserve what the devil tells

  362. you. You deserve everything that he brings against

  363. you. If you walk out and leave your help and

  364. your hope in this altar today. I'm here to tell

  365. you this morning, there's been a stirring in

  366. the atmosphere where praise has been going up.

  367. Prayer has been going on. People have been fasting.

  368. And because they need God to move, we need God

  369. to invoke his power and to enter into our situation.

  370. We need God to set us free and deliver us from

  371. the voice of the enemy. So since he's been kicked

  372. out of heaven, all he's been doing is running

  373. his mouth everywhere he goes. Everywhere he goes,

  374. everywhere he shows up, he just runs his mouth.

  375. It's time that we take authority over that. Your

  376. sanity is not a welcome mat for his spewing of

  377. doubt, disbelief, and fear. There's not a place

  378. for that. Your mind is to be concentrated and

  379. concentrated on the Lord. But he keeps coming

  380. and reminding you of everything that's going

  381. wrong. Let me tell you something. There's something

  382. going to be going wrong all the time anyway.

  383. That's just the nature of the life in which we

  384. live in this sin -filled world. Something's going

  385. to transpire. Something's not going to go the

  386. way that it should go. You're going to mess up.

  387. I'm going to mess up. Something is going to mess

  388. up the status quo of things and life's smooth

  389. sailing. Something's going to go wrong. We're

  390. going to make a mistake. Amen? That's just in

  391. our fleshly nature. The devil doesn't have to

  392. actually do much. We're going to take care of

  393. doing some stuff by ourself. Hello? We're going

  394. to take care of doing enough on our own without

  395. him. He's going to jump on board when you do.

  396. He's going to magnify every issue. But let me

  397. tell you one more time. He is a lie. He's going

  398. to tell you, oh, God will never forgive you.

  399. Right there is lie number one. Unless you've

  400. blasphemed against the Holy Ghost, and if you've

  401. done that, you wouldn't even be here this morning.

  402. Hello? If you've done that, this is the last

  403. place you'd want to be, hearing what I've got

  404. to say. You wouldn't be anywhere around. Your

  405. conscience would be turned over, be seared with

  406. that hot iron. No compassion, no drawing, no

  407. quickening of the spirit. God would forsake you.

  408. But you're here, so you're in good shape. Well,

  409. you don't know what I've done. You're still in

  410. good shape if you hadn't done that because everything

  411. else is covered by the blood. That's the reason

  412. I declared there's power, wonder -working power

  413. in the blood. Everything, everything else. So

  414. when the devil jumps up on your shoulder with

  415. the weight of condemnation and begins to declare

  416. to you how sorry you are, how low life you are,

  417. how pitiful you are, how hopeless you are, you

  418. can't get over it. I've got you where I want

  419. you. Are you hearing this preacher this morning?

  420. That is a lie. He knows that he is subject to

  421. the power of Jesus Christ. He knows it better

  422. than we know it. But all authority has been given

  423. unto him in heaven and in earth. And he displays

  424. that authority in your life as he made that declaration.

  425. It is expedient that I go away so that when I

  426. go away, the comforter can come. Comforter has

  427. come. Greater works than I do shall you do also.

  428. Why? Because you're going to receive power. And

  429. after that, the Holy Ghost has come upon you.

  430. You shall receive power of me that you may be

  431. witnesses of me in every place you go. And on

  432. the day of Pentecost, when it was fully come,

  433. there was a sound from heaven as of a rushing

  434. mighty wind. And the Holy Ghost descended with

  435. tongues like of cloven fire. And he sat upon

  436. each of them. They begin to speak and glorify

  437. God. It was one thing to exercise power while

  438. Christ was still on the earth. He sent the 70

  439. out and they came back rejoicing. Why? Because

  440. they'd been into the far reaches of the stronghold

  441. to the enemy. They had laid hands on the sick,

  442. and they were healed. They had cast out devils

  443. in Jesus' name, and they fled from them. But

  444. let me give you a little secret. They weren't

  445. running from not one disciple. They were running

  446. because of the authority that existed. in the

  447. name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. And when a

  448. faith -filled, spirit -filled believer stands

  449. boldly with their faith rising like a wrought

  450. iron up their spine and look the devil in the

  451. eye and say, shut up in the name of Jesus, I

  452. rebuke you, and you flee. Do you know what he

  453. has to do when you resist him with every effort

  454. in grace and in the spirit? He has to. You flee.

  455. There's no, it's not optional. It's not an option

  456. for him. Well, they couldn't even pass him in

  457. the street without screaming. Right? He'd just

  458. be walking down the street. Devils go to crying

  459. out. What are you here for? What are you here

  460. to do? Shut up. He would put it more politely,

  461. hold thy peace. Amen. He's more polite than I

  462. am. I'd say, shut up. Would you please just shut

  463. up? Hush only goes so far. My children really

  464. didn't know I was serious about them being quiet

  465. until I said, would you please shut up? After

  466. I've asked them to hush a time or two. No, I'm

  467. serious when I say shut up. Next time it's going

  468. to be the palm or the back of the hand coming

  469. your way. Don't open. Let me tell you parents

  470. something while I'm just right here. When you

  471. tell one to shut up, it's not optional. That's

  472. the way you got to be with the devil. Look here.

  473. Quit messing around. He ain't just going to hush.

  474. You've got to shut him up. And you do that by

  475. not giving heed to those seducing spirits that

  476. are coming to your mind and deceiving you with

  477. truth and lie. You know the truth, and it's the

  478. truth that sets you free. And the authority of

  479. the power that's in the Word of God, that's the

  480. reason you've got to read the Bible. Keep your

  481. nose in the pages and your mind meditating upon

  482. the fruit of it every day. And then when the

  483. devil comes like he did against Jesus and tempted

  484. him on those occasions, he declared, it is written.

  485. Conversation over. It's over. It is written.

  486. It ceases the conversation. 2 Corinthians 2 and

  487. 11 tells us, lest Satan should get an advantage

  488. of us, for we are not ignorant of his devices.

  489. Too many, I won't say Christians, but that's

  490. a broad stroke of the brush. Let's say churchgoers.

  491. Too many churchgoers. Folks, give way too much

  492. attention and lend way too much weight to the

  493. validity of the voice of the enemy. Now, don't

  494. get me wrong. He is a formidable enemy, and you

  495. can't mess around with the devil. He's going

  496. to get the best of you. He's been at it for thousands

  497. of years, and you're no whooper -dooper. You're

  498. no super duper saint. Hello? And so you have

  499. nothing to say to him but what God has already

  500. declared. That's all you need. The moment you

  501. enter into conversation with him, you lose. Unless

  502. it's a one -sided conversation on your part,

  503. when he becomes in and he arrives and starts

  504. his deceiving and tempting and planting, you

  505. resist him and declare it is written. And you

  506. shut down that situation right there. James 4,

  507. 7, and 8 says, Submit yourselves therefore to

  508. God, resist the devil. He will, not maybe, not

  509. might, not possibly. He will flee from you. Revelation

  510. 12, 10. The accuser of our brethren is cast down,

  511. which accused them before our God day and night.

  512. Cast down. Removed from his little perch. Hello?

  513. 1 and 18 of Revelation. John said, I am he, as

  514. he records it, that liveth and was dead. And

  515. behold, I am alive and forevermore. Amen. And

  516. have the keys. Of hell. And death. Colossians

  517. 2 .15 says. Having disarmed principalities and

  518. powers. He made a open spoil. A public spectacle

  519. of them. Triumphing over them. In it. You. Have

  520. the upper hand in this situation. Because you

  521. are not standing in your authority. You stand

  522. in the blood -covered authority of Jesus Christ.

  523. Amen? So you don't have to placate to him. You

  524. don't have to entertain him. You look at him

  525. with the authority of Christ and say, shut up.

  526. And meditate on his words no more. Move yourself

  527. on. You and I make more mountains out of molehills

  528. than the devil has time to muster up mud. This

  529. life is as simple as, this life of faith is as

  530. simple as repent and move on. You've got to understand

  531. there's always repercussions for sin. There'll

  532. always be a kickback with sin. And if you've

  533. done it, deal with it and move on. Don't whine

  534. about it. Don't mope about it. Don't drag your

  535. lip around about it. If you've done it, repent

  536. and let's go on. The only reason we feel bad

  537. is because the condemner of your soul ushers

  538. into you condemnation. But there is therefore

  539. now. It is written. There is therefore now no

  540. condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.

  541. When the blood covers, the blood washes. And

  542. when the blood washes, he purifies and cleanses.

  543. Now, it would be wonderful if he would take the

  544. repercussion for sin with it. But he doesn't.

  545. I always equate it to like shooting a shotgun.

  546. When you pull the trigger on a shotgun, you're

  547. going to get kicked. How many has ever done that?

  548. How many has never shot a shotgun? How many would

  549. like to? I mean, it's okay. I know this woke

  550. world out here wants to get in, but it's all

  551. right. We may just set up a skeet day. And that

  552. way, next time the pastor preaches about the

  553. kick of sin, you'll say, I remember that. That

  554. illustration I finally got. You know what you

  555. do? You rub your shoulder and you move on. Because

  556. I assure us. I'm putting me in. I started to

  557. say you, but it's us. I assure us there's going

  558. to be ample time for another mistake. All we

  559. need is about two minutes to make another mistake.

  560. But you know the good thing? It is written. That

  561. if a man sins, he has an advocate with the Father,

  562. Christ Jesus the righteous. If a man sins, if

  563. we have an advocate with the Father, so shut

  564. him up. You know that's the way he does when

  565. you make mistakes. He just piles on. Then we

  566. begin to believe that mess. Shut him up. Move

  567. along. Amen? Does that rain? Thank you, Lord.

  568. Everybody say that with us. Thank you, Lord.

  569. We need to rain. He is a lion. He is a father

  570. of every lies. And some of the lies he begins

  571. to tell us is, first one he'll tell you is this.

  572. Now you see, I don't have to worry about getting

  573. past 12. You see why I wanted to go first. I

  574. get my say in without you ready to go. The first

  575. lie he's going to tell you is there's no harm.

  576. There's no harm in it. Amen. Everybody else is

  577. doing it. Just go ahead. There's no harm. That's

  578. a lie. It won't hurt just once. The overdose

  579. crack addict heard when his friends shamed him

  580. into hitting the pipe the first time. And you

  581. become an instant addict. Isn't that the devil?

  582. One time. Everybody else is doing it here. We

  583. have to know our limits, people. And yes, there's

  584. harm in it. The harm is this. The wages of sin

  585. is death. But the gift of God is eternal life.

  586. And that eternal life is received through Jesus

  587. Christ. Another lie. You know, one of the strongest

  588. figures in Scripture was so easily deceived.

  589. Samson. Samson, I mean, I haven't read of any

  590. others that were any stronger than Samson. He

  591. was so easily deceived. He couldn't withstand

  592. the pressure. Pressure would get to him. You

  593. remember in Judges when he's put the riddle out

  594. at the wedding feast and his wife just, they

  595. went to her and said, well, we got to know. Surely

  596. you didn't just bring him here to take everything

  597. we own. And so she went to leaning on him hard,

  598. put the pressure to him. And because of that

  599. pressure, he gave in. And that wasn't the only

  600. time that that pressure got to him. Laying his

  601. head in the lap of Delilah. Oh, just tell me.

  602. Tell me your secret. What's your secret? What

  603. is the secret to your strength? He held out about

  604. like the time before, about as long as he could.

  605. And the pressure. He said, I have taken a Nazarite

  606. vow. No wine has crossed my lip and no razor

  607. has touched my head. And the anointing of God.

  608. Then he hears the alarm. Samson, the Philistines

  609. are upon you. And he stirs himself. He awakens.

  610. He said, I will stand and shake myself as times

  611. before. But he shook and no anointing. There

  612. is harm. Don't give in. Next lie, he's going

  613. to tell you there's no hope. Some of you in here

  614. may have actually heard this one lately. There's

  615. no hope. Your situation is hopeless. And when

  616. we hear no hope and hopeless, we begin to feel

  617. helpless. But you are not helpless. Neither are

  618. you hopeless. Amen. The hope you have is in God.

  619. The liar against mankind attempts. and tries

  620. to put this lie into the mind of all who believe

  621. and trust in God. The psalmist said in 38, 16,

  622. I am troubled. I am bowed down greatly. I go

  623. mourning all the day long. 77 and 4, the psalmist

  624. says, I am so troubled that I cannot speak. 2

  625. Corinthians, Paul says, we are troubled on every

  626. side. Looks like we're surrounded in no hope.

  627. 39 and 7, the psalmist says, and now, Lord, what

  628. wait I for? My hope is in thee. Paul didn't just

  629. leave the Corinthians in trouble in that 8th

  630. verse and that 4th chapter. He said, yet not

  631. distressed. We are perplexed. but not in despair.

  632. Ooh. You feel hope beginning to rise. You feel

  633. help beginning to show itself up. Persecuted,

  634. but not forsaken. Right? Cast down, but not destroyed.

  635. One of my favorite verses of the Minor Prophets

  636. is in Micah 7 and 8. You've heard me quote it

  637. many times and you'll hear it many more times

  638. before the Lord's done with me. Rejoice not over

  639. me, O mine enemy, when I fall, for I shall arise.

  640. And when I sit in the dark places, Jehovah shall

  641. be my light. And that's what, shut up. That's

  642. what I'm saying. Devil, you better not stand

  643. over me gloating when you're down. It's not that

  644. you're never going to be knocked down, people,

  645. because we're going to get knocked down. Isn't

  646. that what the psalmist said? Oh, my soul, why

  647. art thou cast down within me? Hope thou in God.

  648. Amen. Hope in the power of his word. Why? Because

  649. somehow, someway, the psalmist understood that

  650. it was written. That psalm that everybody knows,

  651. the shepherd's psalm. Have you ever just kind

  652. of broken that down a little bit? It's been taught,

  653. preached, I don't know how many different ways

  654. from Sunday, a bunch. But to simplify it, it's

  655. simply this. He leads me. He restores me. He

  656. guides me. He comforts me. He anoints me. And

  657. he keeps me. The Lord is my shepherd. Is he your

  658. shepherd? Well, tell the devil, just shut up.

  659. Shut him up. The Lord is on your side. The last

  660. lie that he's going to tell you, there'll be

  661. many others, but the last one I'll cover today

  662. is he's going to tell you there's no reason for

  663. your praise. What do you have to praise God for?

  664. All the preacher wants you all to do is praise

  665. and worship. What do you have to praise God over?

  666. Doesn't he know all hell's breaking loose in

  667. you, around you, and everything you touch? Don't

  668. that preacher know that I've got you by the throat?

  669. Don't he know that? Yeah, he knows. Yeah, he

  670. knows. I know that. Why do you think I'm trying

  671. to get you to praise your way out of your bondage?

  672. Huh? Because, look here, you can't praise God

  673. and remain bound by the hand of the enemy. A

  674. child of God cannot bow himself in worship and

  675. not expect God to show up. Are you starting to

  676. get the correlation here? If I could just get

  677. you to praise past the garbage that he's hammered

  678. you with all week. If I could just get you to

  679. sacrifice some praise. Amen. There's days that

  680. it's a sacrifice. I know you've cried all week.

  681. I know you've been in fear and shudder hiding

  682. in a closet all week because the devil is out

  683. to get you. I know that our adversary is as a

  684. roaring lion and he goes about seeking whom he

  685. may devour. But I also know the Lord is your

  686. shepherd. And I know he leads you. And I know

  687. he guides you. And I know he restores you. And

  688. I know he comforts you. And I also know he anoints

  689. you for the battle that you're looking at. When

  690. you stand before your Goliath and he begins to

  691. spew his poison, I also know that greater is

  692. Christ in you than in a devil. in this world.

  693. I know that. Yes, you're sick. Got folks sitting

  694. in here been diagnosed with cancer. I don't care

  695. what the doctors say. There's nothing insignificant

  696. when they cast out the C word, Brother Randy.

  697. No. You tell me that, we got problems. Yeah,

  698. it may be curable. Yes, it may be in the right

  699. point. It may be finding it at the right moment.

  700. But you already told me I got that junk. Right?

  701. So then you've got options. I'm just going to

  702. toot his horn. He won't. So you have options.

  703. Such a small place for it to be. And they go

  704. take 13 little plugs out of it to test them all.

  705. Where was he at? That happened on a Wednesday.

  706. So where was he? About right here. For about

  707. 50 minutes. Teaching about the goodness of God.

  708. Having faith in God. God being your strength.

  709. Was he hurting? Sure he was. Right? We're going

  710. to anoint him in just a minute. If God heals

  711. him, we'll shout. If he doesn't, Brother Randy,

  712. you know what we're going to do? We're going

  713. to keep on shouting. We're going to shout anyway.

  714. Well, that's easy for you to say, oh, is it really?

  715. Is it? Is it? No, no, I beg to differ with you.

  716. It's not easy. No. But it's beneficial. It's

  717. beneficial to what? My victory. It's beneficial

  718. to your victory. You give the devil more credit

  719. than you should, people. And then so we walk

  720. about in defeat. You do know it is written, there

  721. is a sickness unto death. Unless the Lord comes

  722. and changes us, we all going by the way of the

  723. grave. Something going to get us. Now, I know

  724. we don't like to talk about my pops, my dad.

  725. He's about turning 86, and I reckon he's thinking

  726. he's going to cheat death. I said, pops, we need

  727. to go down and get arrangements made. I ain't

  728. going down there. No business down there until

  729. I have to go. I said, well, let's make it easy

  730. on us. I don't care. That's just kind of the

  731. way he feels about it. After about the third

  732. time, now I say, Pop, you still got that money

  733. put up for us to bury you? It's put up, son.

  734. Okay. I wish you got enough to cover you up.

  735. I say, do you want me to just cremate you? Now

  736. look here. That's the way Mama says, Son, I have

  737. lived my entire life since she was in her early

  738. 20s. To keep from burning. And so help me if

  739. you burn me when I die. I said, Mom, it's cheaper.

  740. Well, they don't care. I said, Mother, it doesn't

  741. matter. You're going to dust just a little quicker.

  742. Dust to dust. I give her all that stuff, but

  743. she ain't have it. And we changed the subject

  744. real quick. We're all going to go by the way

  745. of the grave if the Lord doesn't come before

  746. our time. Right? But here's the thing, folks.

  747. We do not know our time. So that is the important

  748. part of not allowing the enemy to dominate your

  749. life. Yes, we're perplexed. Yes, we're troubled.

  750. Right? But we're not distressed. Yes, we get

  751. knocked down in life. We get cast down. But we're

  752. not destroyed. Why? Because there's a line that

  753. God puts on how far the devil can come against

  754. you. It's called the bloodline. And when God

  755. said no, that's it. No more. And in the process

  756. of that time, you can put him to flight. Amen?

  757. Until the Lord comes, he's going to depart. He'll

  758. depart for a season. But then guess what? Like

  759. a bad nickel. How many of you ever got a Canadian

  760. quarter back in the day when you could get a

  761. Coke for a quarter? It's a small crowd. I just

  762. shrunk it down to a few of us. You found one

  763. of them machines? And somehow in your change,

  764. somebody gave you a Canadian quarter. And that's

  765. the only quarter you had in your pocket. You

  766. couldn't get a great knee high. It'd fall through

  767. that thing like a dose of salsa with a woman.

  768. And you're standing there pulling on that little

  769. door. Some of you are like, what door? You push

  770. the button, Pastor. No, no, the little door.

  771. You had to jerk that thing out of quick. That's

  772. where the devil is. He just falls out the bottom

  773. and you put it back in your pocket and directly

  774. he'll show back up. But there is a reprieve,

  775. church. You can shut him up. You can shut him

  776. up. Y 'all might already come on and do something,

  777. I don't know what, but we're about to pray. Stand

  778. with me all over the house. Friends of mine,

  779. I call them friends. They like to razz me a little

  780. bit because I'm longer winded than most all of

  781. them. They said, well, if I preach that long,

  782. my people would leave. I said, well, that's the

  783. reason mine come. I don't know what your problem

  784. is. Work on it's all I can say. Time to shut

  785. the devil up. My heart has been moved for us.

  786. All of us. Because I know, I know what the enemy

  787. says to us. We know, we know all too well what

  788. his voice says. Right? So it's a constant. Every

  789. day I put him to flight. Every day. I know when

  790. we get up in the morning what he's going to whisper

  791. in my ear. Because the last thing I do every

  792. night. Before my head slumbers to sleep, I'll

  793. turn on my pillow and I'll put my hand right

  794. here. Because he anoints our head. And so I pray

  795. every day. Amen. That's what we do. And we praise

  796. the Lord every day in spite of what's going on.

  797. And I know if we can do it, I'm no super whooper

  798. duper either. If we can do it in our dilemma,

  799. in our situation, you can do it in yours. You

  800. can. You can do like I do when I mess up. When

  801. I'm tired and my temper gets short and I flare

  802. a little bit. I repent to her and the Lord. So

  803. if I can do it. You can do it. You can make it.

  804. Shut him up. Life's not over. We're still here.

  805. We're still here, devil. Until the Lord deems

  806. it not so, you're still here. Well, I'm sick.

  807. It is written, come to the elders of the church

  808. and they'll anoint you with oil and the prayer

  809. of faith shall heal the sick. Listen to this

  810. one. And if you've committed any sins, they'll

  811. be forgiven. Right? Are you weary? Here's what

  812. the book says. It is written, come unto me all

  813. you that labor and are heavy laden and I will

  814. give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. It's easy.

  815. I'll swap you. My grace for your burden. Who's
