  1. Hallelujah. Thank you, Lord. Amen. Good to see

  2. you in the house of the Lord. If you have your

  3. Bibles, go ahead and be turning with me back

  4. to Isaiah, Isaiah 43. And as you're doing that,

  5. I want to welcome today Brother Kenneth and Sister

  6. Bobbie Walker. They are MIP students. They're

  7. in the MIP program, which is the Ministerial

  8. Internship Program. They're doing their internship

  9. at the Ocoee Church of God with Pastor Mike and

  10. Sister Sandy Whitmire. The way the program works,

  11. it's a nine -month program. They'll be assigned

  12. two visits, and we were one of those, and so

  13. I feel very... Fortunate and blessed that Dr.

  14. Lombard would trust us, amen, with their visit.

  15. And so it's good to have you, Brother Ken. This

  16. is Bobby. Good to have you all with us this morning.

  17. Amen. Make them welcome today. Hallelujah. Had

  18. a flashback of about 30 years, and I remembered

  19. our MIP visits. One. happened to be with Sister

  20. Frankie at their church when they was over at

  21. East Soddy, I think, right there at the foot

  22. of the mountain. Sister Kathy and I came, and

  23. I was talking to them that we spent that day

  24. with Brother Lee and Sister Frankie, and he asked

  25. me to preach that night, which was a great honor

  26. for me until I remembered, or actually years

  27. later, Sister Frankie, I figured it out. It was

  28. also Super Bowl Sunday. And Brother Lee just

  29. didn't want to preach that night. And so he had

  30. me do it. Which I was grateful. That was probably

  31. about the sixth or seventh time that I'd actually

  32. even preached. So I was excited. Amen. Super

  33. Bowl Sunday night or not. And we had a great

  34. visit. I always remember that. I'll always remember

  35. that. And we had our first visit. Didn't go as

  36. well as it did with Brother Lee and Sister Frankie.

  37. Pastor didn't have time for us that day. And

  38. that's a wasted day. Look, y 'all know me by

  39. now. Right? But what I was sharing with them

  40. was Sister Kathy and I made a commitment. If

  41. we were ever in that position, Brother Milton,

  42. that if people ever came. The Lord saw fit for

  43. them to sit under that we would always honor

  44. them. Amen? And make it the best day whenever

  45. they leave and they gather with their MIP students

  46. and they do this. They talk about their visits.

  47. Hopefully, Brother Kenneth, y 'all have a good

  48. report at the Hopewell Church. They're getting

  49. barbecued today on us. That'll be worth a trip

  50. anyway. All right, let's take a deep breath together

  51. and get ready to dive in. So, you clock watchers,

  52. it is 11 .23. You can officially start my time

  53. now. Isaiah 43. We'll just read 18 and 19. Isaiah

  54. 43, 18, 19. But you'll need to read the entirety

  55. of this chapter. How many of you have read it

  56. since we've been out? Good. Verse 18 reads, Remember

  57. not the former things, neither consider the things

  58. of old. Behold, I will do a new thing. Now it

  59. shall spring forth, shall you not know it. I

  60. will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers

  61. in the desert. I want to refresh our mindset

  62. toward this new year. Today is exactly one month.

  63. since the last time I preached. So prepare yourselves.

  64. If you just get where you can't endure no more,

  65. if you've pre -ordered barbecue, they'll be waiting

  66. and you can get it and go on to the house. But

  67. I am going to take my time this morning and just

  68. preach. I think we need a refresher. Of what

  69. the Lord's emphasis is and what the Spirit wants

  70. to emphasize in our hearts and lives for the

  71. new year. Amen. So we're going back. How many

  72. was here the second Sunday of January? Was that

  73. your shift? Okay. So we're going to be, if the

  74. second Sunday is your Sunday, behold new things.

  75. That's what I have felt in my heart. It's probably

  76. October or November when we were here looking

  77. at getting all this stuff in mind and focusing

  78. and doing some things. And just walking through,

  79. the Lord just laid this on my heart. This is

  80. what I want you to emphasize for 2026. is behold

  81. new things. And it's not what we can bring about

  82. new in our own lives, but what it is that God

  83. desires new for you. I'll pray for you if you

  84. pray for me, and we'll make this as expedient

  85. as possible. Just so you know, I have tried to

  86. get a hold of myself with some of the ramblings

  87. that take place during my preaching. I'm trying

  88. to get a hold of that. And trying to check it

  89. in. It is not my intention to go for an hour

  90. every time. I promise you. So I'm going to try

  91. to stop what I'm doing now. And focus more on

  92. the preaching from here on. Okay? Let's pray.

  93. Father, we love you. We thank you for your goodness

  94. and your mercy. And the abundance of your grace

  95. and love toward us. God, you know I need your

  96. help. If I'm going to cut that stuff out, it's

  97. got to be you. So you help me today. Lord, that

  98. we be expedient with the timing of your people,

  99. Lord. I take it not for granted, but neither

  100. do I take for granted the atmosphere that we're

  101. in now. I have longed for and I have missed it

  102. so desperately. Lord, to stand in the pulpit,

  103. I'm feeling my heart's leaping. My breath is

  104. short because it's been a while and I don't want

  105. to mess up, Lord. So you use me today as we surrender

  106. our ears, our hearts to your word and your spirit.

  107. In Jesus' mighty name, tell your neighbor it's

  108. time for something new. Often we quote a phrase,

  109. it's what great things he has done. And truly,

  110. the Lord has done great things in our lives.

  111. Amen. Each of us, if we'll stop and examine,

  112. no matter how young or old, we have a testimony

  113. of the goodness and the greatness of God in our

  114. lives. If you're still here, amen. Just the other

  115. Wednesday, a few Wednesday nights, one of the

  116. last ones we had, the hand of the Lord was on

  117. some of our young 'uns as they were leaving and

  118. had an accident right up here to Red Light. The

  119. hand of God, just those things sometimes we take

  120. for granted, but what great things. God has done,

  121. amen, what the Lord does. He does those things

  122. daily for us and in our life every single day.

  123. A wonderful statement, which in itself causes

  124. us to stir up a ready praise. When you think

  125. of that one thing that comes to your mind, that,

  126. man, that was a great thing the Lord does, doesn't

  127. it cause something to well up inside of you and

  128. just, whoo, hallelujah, amen? The Lord was good.

  129. He's great, and he's wonderful toward us, and

  130. it calls up. and overflowing from our heart out

  131. of the believer that flows through their mouth

  132. and giving him great honor and great glory. So

  133. we find ourselves, if we're not careful, we have

  134. to take great care. in focusing on who God is,

  135. not only what God has done for us, but who God

  136. is and what God has in store and what God desires

  137. to do in our lives. And as we remind ourselves,

  138. and it could serve as a reminder for us, that

  139. God is fully aware of everything that is concerning

  140. us. If we go back to the first Sunday of the

  141. year, remember we preached that message. What's

  142. concerning you? What is it? that God is mindful

  143. of that's going on in your life that he's going

  144. to release his great glory, his great grace into

  145. the faith that you release into him. What is

  146. it that is going on? What is concerning us? Because

  147. if we really stop and focus, there are some things

  148. that they may be in the back of our mind, but

  149. they're there. There's this subconscious gnawing

  150. that goes on, and you just can't quite put a

  151. finger on it sometimes. And then when you're

  152. sitting quietly and in a moment, come to the

  153. forefront of your mind. This is what's concerning

  154. me. This is really at the root. Have you ever

  155. heard that hurt people hurt people? Have you

  156. ever heard that statement when people are lashing

  157. out and they're being obstinate sometimes and

  158. you can't hardly be around them? Sometimes it's

  159. good to stop and say, Lord, what's really going

  160. on within them? What is happening to them? Because

  161. hurt people lash out and hurt because many times

  162. we don't know how to respond in any other way.

  163. So what is it that causes you possibly to lash

  164. out. What is concerning you? But know if there's

  165. something concerning you, it also concerns the

  166. God of glory. Amen. And that he is ever mindful

  167. of what is going on in our lives. As we have

  168. begun this year, now we're six weeks in. This

  169. is the sixth Sunday of the new year. And as we

  170. begin it, we do so with an emphasis of behold

  171. new things. And so as we stop and begin to process

  172. and step forward, the first steps towards those

  173. new things is that we have to break the unbeneficial

  174. cycles of 2025. That thing that causes just to

  175. go around and put you back in the same mode of

  176. operation. We would call it status quo. Amen.

  177. It is what it is. It's just what is, what is

  178. going on. It's the moment and the action of the

  179. moment for this alpha generation, gen alpha,

  180. it would be six, seven. There you go. That's

  181. status quo, eh? Six, seven. For you boomers,

  182. that's six of one, half a dozen of another. Just

  183. so you know I can bridge the chasm. It's what's

  184. transpiring at the very moment. But we have to

  185. know that in order to step forward, the goodness

  186. of God and the new things that God has in store

  187. for us, we have to break unbeneficial cycles.

  188. And if you remember, we talked about prayerlessness.

  189. If you want God to do something new in your life,

  190. you're going to have to start doing something

  191. new in your life. If you're absent prayer, don't

  192. expect God to move where there is no seed being

  193. sown. You've got to pray. If you want God to

  194. break up new things into your life, then you've

  195. got to learn to get into the Word of the living

  196. God and let the Word of God sprout new hope,

  197. new faith, new life inside of you. If you're

  198. not doing those things, you've got to break some

  199. unbeneficial cycles and allow the grace and the

  200. glory of God. You must remember this one thing,

  201. that cycles thrive on memory. Revelation. Cycles.

  202. Oh, Lord, it's memory without revelation. We

  203. can remember, but there's no insight as to how

  204. to move and past and beyond. But know this, God

  205. does not desire that you stay in a state of status

  206. quo. God wants us moving forward continually.

  207. The only time he wants you in the same position

  208. is when he stops and you stop with him. Don't

  209. you remember we sung about the cloud this morning?

  210. When the cloud moves, you move. Amen. When the

  211. cloud stops, you pitch a tent. That's all I'm

  212. looking for is which way is the cloud moving.

  213. If the cloud's moving, I do not desire to be

  214. left behind because I know this one thing. If

  215. God is leading me forward and I stay in the status

  216. quo, then the cycles of unbeneficial acts in

  217. my life will never be broken. But when the Spirit

  218. of God... begins to move and begins to lead me

  219. forward. Then it tells me that God has something

  220. new for me. What did the psalmist say in 23?

  221. He's going to lead us beside still waters. He's

  222. going to lead us into greener pastures. You've

  223. fed where you are quite long enough, and he's

  224. ready to take you in to some greener pastures.

  225. If you've been in turmoil and torment, he's ready

  226. to take you beside the still water and cause

  227. you to rest. Hallelujah. Always remember Hebrews

  228. 11 and 1, now faith is a substance of things.

  229. Now, this behold new things, we have to understand

  230. what are things. What is a thing? By definition,

  231. a thing is an object that one need not, cannot,

  232. or does not wish to give a specific name. I begin

  233. to mull that over in my head. Y 'all know what

  234. mull it over is, right? Okay, I just want to

  235. make sure. I begin to mull that definition over.

  236. It's one thing, and I really didn't dive into

  237. that four weeks ago. So this is fresh for me

  238. as well as I begin to look into the thought behind

  239. the definition itself. Behold new things. Behold

  240. something that I cannot or that I wish not. Put

  241. a specific name or title to. There are some things

  242. I don't want around long enough to name it. Oh,

  243. come on, somebody. There's some things and some

  244. cycles in my life that I don't want to stay around

  245. long enough to name it. That's the reason most

  246. goldfish have one name. And when they float up

  247. the next one, you just call it the same thing

  248. because it don't want to last much longer either.

  249. Amen. There's some things in my life that have

  250. transpired. There's some things that the enemy

  251. brings around to and against me that I don't

  252. want hanging around long enough to give it a

  253. name. Because once you give it a name, it becomes

  254. a pet. I love. what the author of Hebrews says.

  255. Now let us lay aside the weight and every sin

  256. that does set ourself against us. I'm ready to

  257. put some things off, aren't you? I'm ready to

  258. lay aside some stuff. Because when you begin

  259. to name it, it becomes attached to you. And there's

  260. some things that are going on that I definitely

  261. do not wish to be attached to me. But there's

  262. some things that I also cannot label. There's

  263. some things that I cannot name. And that's the

  264. goodness of the Lord. I cannot begin to describe

  265. to you. What it is that he's doing. Such great

  266. grace and the marvel of his trust that is being

  267. released into our lives every day. He never ceases

  268. to amaze. And I don't want to put a name on it.

  269. Simply because I cannot. What's God doing with

  270. you? Well, I just really can't describe it to

  271. you. People say, well, I just don't know how.

  272. I say, well, I can't tell you how either. Oh,

  273. you'd be amazed. People call and text, well,

  274. we're praying for you. Well, thank you, we need

  275. it. I was telling Sister Barbara this morning,

  276. she stopped by the office and sharing some things

  277. and she's getting relieved. I want you to know

  278. that I pray every day for you and Sister Kathy.

  279. And I said, thank you, we need it. And I said,

  280. I used to say this, we need to pray and you need

  281. to practice. Come on, somebody. I need the prayer

  282. and you need the practice. So if you'll practice

  283. praying for me when the time comes for you need

  284. to intercede for yourself, you'll be well orientated

  285. with the manner of prayer. And when you come

  286. boldly to the throne of grace, God won't have

  287. a problem recognizing your need because you've

  288. brought somebody else's need before you. And

  289. he'll have no problem answering you. And he's

  290. going to do some new things in your life that

  291. you cannot, will not, wish not, and no way fathomable

  292. possible. Put a label on it. That's what I'm

  293. talking about. Behold a new thing. I want God

  294. to do some things in your life that you simply

  295. cannot label, that you are at a loss of words

  296. for. Now faith is a substance of things. Hope

  297. for something that I can't label, something that

  298. I cannot mark. It's the evidence of things that

  299. I cannot see. I don't want this junk that I can

  300. see because I definitely don't want this stuff

  301. sticking to me. So I refuse to name it and label

  302. it. You know how it is. How many of you folks

  303. ever had stray dogs or cats come around your

  304. place? Dad's words. Do not feed that animal.

  305. Don't give it any scraps. Run that thing out

  306. of the yard. Why? Because the moment you feed

  307. it, it begins to take up residence. Oh, come

  308. on now. I'm about to preach right here. And the

  309. moment it takes up residence, well, I guess we

  310. got to name it. So when the old devil starts

  311. showing up on your doorstep, don't feed it. When

  312. he starts creeping into your mind with the evil

  313. of the age and the evil of the day, and he begins

  314. to sow seeds of doubt, honey, don't you dare

  315. feed it. Because once you feed it, you've got

  316. to name it, and when you name it, you own it.

  317. The very moment you begin to confess things over

  318. your own life, honey, you've named it and you're

  319. starting to own it. Well, I'm depressed, are

  320. you? Well, you've named it. Since you've named

  321. it, you might as well pet it. Because you own

  322. it now. What have you been petting? What have

  323. you been feeding? Let's try some things according

  324. to the word of God. Speak to things that are

  325. not as though they were and the things that are

  326. as though they won't be. That's the water's parallel

  327. at the end. That's like Brother Swaggart's old,

  328. his version of his Bible, his own little. Commentary

  329. on it. That's my commentary on that. I have no

  330. desire to feed some of the things the enemy tries

  331. to bring to my doorstep. Reality is enough. I've

  332. told you before. I'm not an optimist. I'm not

  333. a pessimist. I am a realist. One of the statements

  334. that kindly, it's like that 6 -7 thing. It can

  335. make your skin kindly crawl every time you hear,

  336. well, it is what it is. Well, it is as long as

  337. you let it be what it is. Well, there's some

  338. things I cannot change. Agreed. Agreed. But nothing

  339. is impossible with him. Nothing is impossible

  340. with God, and nothing is impossible with those

  341. who believe. When you begin to declare by faith,

  342. yeah, you may have to walk through some of it,

  343. but I'm here to tell you, a stray dog of the

  344. enemy gets close enough to me, it's going to

  345. get rocked and sent down the road. Now, he may

  346. show back up, but he won't show back up because

  347. I put out a pile of feed. I'm resisting him with

  348. every ounce and fiber of faith and grace that

  349. exists within me. I'm putting him to flight.

  350. Why? Because I draw not. Because when I draw

  351. nigh unto God, he draws nigh unto me. And when

  352. I resist the devil, he must flee from me. Why?

  353. Because I invoke the authority that's in the

  354. name of Jesus Christ. See, this is brand new.

  355. Behold, a new sermon from the old. New things

  356. never come from maintaining the status quo. Status

  357. quo is simply what it is at the moment. That

  358. is not God's desire for my and your life to remain

  359. in status quo. Well, how can you say that? Because

  360. He is not a status quo God. If his mercies, according

  361. to lamentation, are new every morning, that's

  362. not status quo. It's different. I cannot put

  363. a defining statement on his mercy for today.

  364. Already I've encountered, and this very moment,

  365. I am experiencing his marvelous mercy. New, it's

  366. fresh, it's for today. It's like the manna that

  367. falls from heaven. Why do you think the Lord

  368. said, you can't eat that stuff, but one time

  369. it'll only last for one extra day, and that's

  370. when you gather for the Sabbath? Every other

  371. day, it's going to have worms in it when you

  372. get up in the morning. I want you to have new.

  373. I want you to have fresh every day. So we have

  374. faith to faith. We have grace to grace. We have

  375. glory to glory. Glory. Faith on top of faith.

  376. Grace up on top of grace. Glory on behalf of

  377. glory. The infinite waves of his glory. They

  378. are new every day. His faith in us is bound by

  379. his grace to you. My Lord, and as long as you

  380. trust his grace, it's to you. His faith for you

  381. will lift you up and carry you beyond because

  382. your faith truly is in him and his abundance

  383. of grace. New things. Woo! Hey, neighbor, let's

  384. have something new. Well, three of us are going

  385. to have it. The rest of you, got to help get

  386. your mind made up. Now, see, right here is one

  387. of those moments I was talking about earlier.

  388. I mean, we could go down a little road right

  389. there, but I'm not going to do that. We get through

  390. this introduction, we'll preach this message.

  391. Matter of fact, let's go ahead with point number

  392. one. refuse to step in the trap of what used

  393. to be. Refuse to step in the trap of what used

  394. to be. Verse 18, remember not the former things.

  395. Israel's problem wasn't that they forgot God,

  396. it's that they just couldn't forget what God

  397. had done. They couldn't trust him enough to do

  398. new things. And the whole time he's trying to

  399. do something new, they're still hung up at a

  400. Red Sea crossing, which, by the way, That's a

  401. place to get hung up. Man, I can't get over that.

  402. Did you see that? Man, the ground was dry. Boy,

  403. it was, wasn't it? He's trying to get you into

  404. a promised land, and you're still amazed at the

  405. dry ground. He's trying to get you to feast on

  406. milk and honey, and you're looking up, where

  407. are the manna for today? I sure would have looked

  408. out for some quail eggs. Smoke us some quail

  409. wings. Boy, I miss the quail. What about those

  410. grapes? What about the cluster of promise? And

  411. the two that were left were thinking, if y 'all

  412. would come on. Joshua and Caleb, if y 'all would

  413. come on, I'll show you something. We've seen

  414. it. We've seen what God wants to do. Oh, come

  415. on now. We have lived and encountered and experienced

  416. what God has done. Pharaoh dying in the Red Sea

  417. was marvelous. But there's giants over there

  418. that he wants to have to fall at your feet. I

  419. don't know about that. Giants, you say? Them

  420. other ten cowards, oh, we were like grasshoppers

  421. in our own eyes. Well, there you go. Keep speaking

  422. it over yourself. Huh? There it is. They named

  423. it. Fear showed up and they gave it a name. They

  424. labeled it and began to feed it and fed it to

  425. everyone around them. Joshua and Caleb jumps

  426. up and says, no. We are more than able. Why?

  427. Because you missed the concept of getting out

  428. of Egypt. You missed the concept of the Red Sea.

  429. You missed the concept of the manna. You missed

  430. the concept of the quail. You missed the concept

  431. of water flowing out of the rock. God was demonstrating

  432. to you that when he got us over here, he's more

  433. than enough and more than able if we'll allow

  434. him by faith. Remember not the former things.

  435. Why? Because in our personal lives, we're new

  436. creatures. I hope you are. I hope you're a new

  437. creature. If you're not, you need to have a new

  438. encounter. Behold, old things pass away. Behold,

  439. all things become new. We become new creatures.

  440. New creations in Christ. Pastor Brown and I have

  441. been discussing a lot, and I've been discussing

  442. with others the influence of social media on

  443. the church and the effects in the church and

  444. how it affects it. I don't know how it affects

  445. you, but I've allowed it to kind of suck me in.

  446. It's a vortex. It'll suck you in. But at the

  447. same time, I try to... Wanted to try to keep

  448. my thumb on the pulse, or at least that's an

  449. excuse, I guess. I guess you could get down to

  450. the concept, the world's evil, it's always going

  451. to be evil, and the evil's always going to try

  452. to creep itself into the church. But I guess

  453. it helps to kind of know how it's slipping in.

  454. There seems to be a dilution of faith. There

  455. appears to me to be a desire to dilute the purity

  456. of the blood of Jesus Christ and the requirement

  457. of those who claim its application to their life

  458. because of platform. Let me tell you something.

  459. Bitter and sweet water, according to the word

  460. of God, cannot come from the same fountain. We

  461. are in this world, but we've been called out

  462. of darkness into his marvelous light so that

  463. we no longer are of this world. The actions and

  464. behaviors of our life should be in alignment

  465. in accordance to the word of God. And the celebrity

  466. Christendom, the devil would like nothing more

  467. than that to sweep across from border to border

  468. of every nation around this world. Why? Because

  469. there's no separation required. There's no holiness

  470. demanded. Then it gets applauded. Nope, not by

  471. me. Makes my skin crawl, matter of fact. That

  472. the sacrifice of the Son of God is tread upon

  473. that lightly. That's the way I see it. Used to

  474. be the old adage, I don't smoke, I don't drink,

  475. I don't dip, and don't go with girls that do.

  476. That's what I'm talking about. When you live

  477. in a place called Snuff Holler, come on. Now

  478. y 'all are about to pull me in. I'm not going

  479. to do it. You try. Lord, touch somebody. Be with

  480. someone this very moment. If it's an accident

  481. or a sickness, touch and heal. Let your divine

  482. glory be present where they are now. Watch over

  483. those who are in response, those who are going

  484. to the situation. Touch and proclaim peace. I

  485. pray that every time I hear one, no matter where

  486. it's going or what direction it's headed. Prayed

  487. it the other Wednesday night when we heard it

  488. in this sanctuary, not knowing that it was two

  489. of our very own. Prayed the hand of God quickly.

  490. We must retain the purity and the holiness of

  491. God. One thing I will not be charged with when

  492. we stand together and I give an account for your

  493. soul. They'll never read from the record of the

  494. angel that is written. You never warn them against

  495. sin and living a holy life. That's one charge.

  496. That will not be mine. You must live a separated

  497. life. Don't fall into the ploy of celebrity quote

  498. -unquote Christianity. The true heart of conversion,

  499. you will see it removed from the situations.

  500. Well, they're doing good, are they? Well, they're

  501. lifting up Jesus. Are they? Well, y 'all go watch

  502. it. I've seen enough of it. I heard what they

  503. said. Where's the fruit of the life? Are you

  504. and I not going to be judged by our fruit? Not

  505. solely along by our confession or what we say?

  506. Are our fruit not going to be what is judged

  507. by the eyes of God? In accordance to the commandments

  508. of his word, he said, if you don't follow my

  509. commandments, you have no part with me. No matter

  510. what you say. That's the reason James said, look,

  511. I will demonstrate to you my faith by my works.

  512. But my works will prove to you my faith. I pray

  513. for every one of those testimonies that I hear.

  514. I think, oh, Lord, truly convert. And then you

  515. see this other thing. You see what they say here,

  516. how they act. I think, Lord, help them. Put somebody

  517. in their path. It's just as bad to watch some

  518. Christian celebrities on TV. I got to get on.

  519. We are to remind ourselves that God is good in

  520. his faithfulness, and that's what he was telling

  521. Israel here in this 43rd chapter. I think it's

  522. 20 -some -odd times in 19 verses the personal

  523. pronoun I is used. I, I, I, the Lord declaring

  524. himself. Over and over and over and over and

  525. over. And as you read it, God, I know that I've

  526. done this for you. And you know that I've done

  527. this for you. But that is not all that I wish

  528. to do for you. I have sent into Babylon. And

  529. the princes are coming down. It's already done.

  530. I've already set it into motion. It's already

  531. going to happen. I'm already going to deliver

  532. you. I told you. Did I not tell you 70 years

  533. that I'm coming after you? Time is drawing to

  534. an end. I'm coming for you. Hear this today.

  535. Today he has declared that he will come again.

  536. The Son of Man shall appear in the clouds of

  537. glory. He will return. And he said it and he

  538. will do it. And even so now my heart longs for

  539. his coming. Five minutes. I'll try to wind this

  540. down. God proclaims your future. Behold, I will

  541. do a new thing. God wants to do some things in

  542. your life that you cannot label. He wants to

  543. bless you in ways that you cannot fathom. And

  544. it's not always financially. Sometimes it is.

  545. Hallelujah. But there's more going on in life

  546. than finances. Behold, I'll do a new thing. It's

  547. a declaration. It's a promise. It's not a refurbished

  548. thing, a recycled thing. It's not a sequel. It's

  549. a new one. God says, I will never change my character

  550. and my nature. I am who I am. But my methods

  551. in your life, I wish to renew daily so that you

  552. know that I am ever mindful. I don't want the

  553. same thing every day. Sister Kathy's about to

  554. probably get tired of bacon and eggs for breakfast.

  555. I change it up every now and then I do smoked

  556. sausage and eggs. Surprised her the other day

  557. with some waffles. I could eat the bacon and

  558. eggs every day and it never bothered me. But

  559. I'm not just cooking for me. Now the shoe's on

  560. the other foot and I wondered how for 30 some

  561. odd years she was able to please me. Then I begin

  562. to think, huh. I guess I need to fix something

  563. besides. Something new. God wants to do something

  564. new for you. If there's a willingness in your

  565. life to break these unprofitable cycles of your

  566. life, things that are not bringing, he proclaims

  567. your future. Thirdly, do not. Dismiss the small

  568. things. Because God can manifest through small

  569. things in your life and they become monumental.

  570. Right? Don't miss it. So many times the Lord

  571. says, shall it not spring forth? And you remember

  572. we discussed that little word spring. We think

  573. of a spring, boing, you know, tigger, boing.

  574. That's not the implication. It's to break forth.

  575. It's to push through. It will spring like the

  576. young tender plant. Shall you not know it? It

  577. shall spring forth. Look, you've got to be watching

  578. for the simple things and the small things that

  579. God's doing in your life. so that you don't overlook.

  580. And when you begin to focus on that, how many

  581. of you have ever sat down and tried to write

  582. out the good things of God, the blessings of

  583. God in your life? And when you begin to consider

  584. one, well, you've got to think about another,

  585. and it leads to another, and it leads to another.

  586. And then when it gets down to it, it's some of

  587. the smallest, minute things, but then you begin

  588. to realize that, yes, that's God springing these

  589. things up. It's breaking forth. It's coming through.

  590. He is El Parazim, which actually is the Hebrew

  591. for the God of the breakthrough. Breakthrough.

  592. Breaking through that which is over you, trying

  593. to hold you. That's the reason Jesus said, unless

  594. a corn of wheat fall into the ground, it dieth

  595. alone. But if it falls in the ground and it is

  596. covered, then when it comes forth, it brings

  597. forth much more fruit. If you remember, I posed

  598. that question to you. What is dying in you? What

  599. is that? That uncomfortable thing that God's

  600. trying to root out so that he can cause something

  601. to spring up. Shall you not know it? Number four

  602. was if all seems lost, don't give up. I'll make

  603. a way in the wilderness, the Lord said. I'll

  604. make a way in your wilderness, rivers in your

  605. desert. You go back to the first of the chapter.

  606. This is a re -emphasis of what he told them in

  607. the first few verses. He said, you're going to

  608. walk through the fire and it's not going to burn

  609. you. You're going to go through the flood and

  610. it's not going to rush over you. One of my favorite

  611. stand it in spite of it scriptures is when the

  612. enemy comes in like a flood, he'll raise up a

  613. standard against it. That's always been one of

  614. my, my Lord, I need a standard today. I always

  615. go back to helping pops roll logs on the bed

  616. of an old two -ton truck when we was in the pulp

  617. woods. And I'd have to get out there with an

  618. old can hook and help pop roll them 12, 14, 16,

  619. 18 -inch logs. We'd roll them things up, and

  620. it'd always be the hottest day when it comes

  621. loading time. And you'd have to roll them old

  622. logs up one hook at a time. And it hit that trailer

  623. because Pops always parked the truck down a little

  624. bit lower so we could roll it off and it hit

  625. and it'd roll on over. But they wouldn't roll

  626. off on the ground because Pops had a standard

  627. or two on the other side of the old truck bed.

  628. And my mind goes to that. When I feel like I'm

  629. about to roll off, I can't roll off because there's

  630. a standard waiting to catch me. When I feel like

  631. I'm getting washed away by the flood of life,

  632. I'm not getting washed away because I take hold

  633. of a standard. And the standard I take to is

  634. his faithfulness and his holiness. and his love

  635. and his joy and his grace that he bestows upon

  636. my life. I take hold of the standard of the power

  637. and the ever -presence of the Holy Ghost that

  638. resides in me. And I cannot, like a tree that's

  639. planted by the rivers of living water, I shall

  640. not be moved. Been a few times I'm holding on

  641. to that standard and my feet's flopping behind

  642. me. Then that's when I realize I don't have hold

  643. of the standard. The standard has a hold on me.

  644. He's got a hold on me. He has a hold of you,

  645. child of God. When the enemy tries to come in,

  646. he'll raise up a standard. Stand with me. 1201.

  647. Somebody say praise the Lord. Because I got two

  648. other pages I was going to, but we won't. I guess

  649. I'll save that for next week. The Lord's willing.

  650. We're going to talk about how to engage the new

  651. thing. How to engage the new thing. It almost

  652. feels like since we've not been together for

  653. so long and how that... Everything's transpired.

  654. To me, it just feels like this is almost like

  655. the first Sunday of the new year. Because January,

  656. you know how it hits us anyway. It's just like,

  657. oh, I don't know how to deal with that. But here

  658. we are firmly six weeks in. I wonder, has any

  659. of those old cycles tried to kick back up? Those

  660. unprofitable. practices, try to re -engage themselves,

  661. interject back into your life. I've called it

  662. stinking thinking before. Has the enemy ever

  663. tried to get into your mind and cause you to

  664. start labeling things that's going on in you

  665. and around you? Let me tell you, resist that

  666. with everything that's within you. Just because

  667. it shows up don't mean you have to feed it. You

  668. don't have to feed it. Do not feed doubt. Don't

  669. feed unbelief. Don't pet and play with fear.

  670. You don't have to. You can put it on down the

  671. road. Pick your pocket of rocks and send it running.

  672. Huh? Put it on its way. Unbelief, you don't have

  673. to let that stay around. Condemnation. What's

  674. that, Pastor? Well, that's when the devil tells

  675. you how sorry you are. Huh? Anybody hear that

  676. besides me? He still tries that junk on me. Well,

  677. Lord, you're not doing this. You're not doing

  678. that. What are you going to do? You can't do

  679. this. You can't do that. What are you going to

  680. do? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, you know,

  681. you know. Several years ago, I learned the difference

  682. between condemnation and conviction. So when

  683. I start hearing that voice echo in my mind and

  684. trying to drive my emotions, I just put a stop

  685. to that. I don't feed it. I don't feed it. I

  686. don't begin to dwell and think on it. What I

  687. have learned and discovered is the Holy Ghost

  688. works from my heart up, not my head down. He

  689. always begins with something, Brother George,

  690. down in here. And before I can get it up to here,

  691. he brings it up. It stirs in here. It's an offense

  692. thing. I feel like I've offended God. Can't catch

  693. my breath. I thought, whew. So then I have to

  694. go ask, what is this, Lord? And then he tells

  695. me, and I sure don't pet that. Don't let the

  696. enemy condemn you, shame you. Jesus loves you.

  697. God desires new things, things that you cannot

  698. have no clue on how to say what they are. I can't

  699. tell you what God's doing, man. I wish I could.

  700. It's just great. Lord, I love you today. Thank

  701. you for your goodness and your mercy. Shall harm

  702. me. Altered in the arms of God. Just keep your

  703. eyes closed and hear this little chorus. Let

  704. the storm rage high. They don't worry me. For

  705. I'm sheltered within the arms of God. He walks

  706. with me. Listen. And naught of earth shall harm

  707. me. For I'm shattered in the arms. If you need

  708. a touch from the Lord this morning, I want to

  709. give you that opportunity to come. I'm all in

  710. between. I want us all to be down here. But I

  711. think also we need to take a step of recognition.

  712. I need the Lord this morning. And we need to

  713. step out and make our way. God's got you. God

  714. has got you. That standard remains. There's no

  715. wilderness. There's no flooding. There's no high

  716. water. There's no flame of life that can remove

  717. the standard. It is there. He is there for you.
