  1. Hallelujah. Thank you. Hallelujah. Good to see

  2. you in the house of the Lord. If you have your

  3. Bible, turn back with me to 2 Timothy 2. And

  4. as we pray here in just a moment, remember Brother

  5. Rich, they had to... Lee, just a minute ago,

  6. he was in the emergency room last night with

  7. some blockages in his heart. He was having some

  8. chest pain, so they've made their way back. So

  9. we want to ask the Lord to touch him. We know

  10. God's able, don't we? Amen. So we want to ask

  11. the Lord to be with them and do a work in his

  12. body. Remember Sister Kim, missing her this morning.

  13. She's sick, unable to be in the house of the

  14. Lord today, so let's remember her as well. Amen.

  15. unique atmosphere in it. Huh? Anybody noticed

  16. just kind of the, there's like this, I don't

  17. really know how to describe it, but like a surreal

  18. presence of the Lord. Make sense? I mean, you

  19. could just, it's almost like a tangible, just,

  20. you feel like, Somebody's rubbing up against

  21. you, and you look, and ain't nobody there. But

  22. he's here. 2 Timothy 2, verse 1 reads, Thou,

    2 Timothy 2:1

  23. therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that

  24. is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou

  25. hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same

  26. commit thou to faithful men who shall be able

  27. to teach others also. We're going back to where

  28. we visited a couple weeks ago with that message

  29. I started, I titled Hand -Me -Downs. Remember?

  30. Hand -Me -Downs, giving to the next generation.

  31. We're going to pick back up there. I hope you're

  32. not in a hurry today. This is the Lord's time.

  33. If the time and point comes and you need to go,

  34. just ease on out. If your sugar drops. Because

  35. I'm sure 12 is not going to be the stopping point.

  36. I'm just going to tell you right now. That's

  37. not going to happen. So if you need to ease out,

  38. just ease out, and we'll see you next week. Amen?

  39. I promise you it won't hurt my feelings. Father,

  40. I love you. I thank you, Lord, for the power

  41. of your word and your presence that is in this

  42. house today, Lord, because you are here. You

  43. are here. Now, help us, Lord. Help me be expedient

  44. with the time, Lord. I don't want to just go

  45. on and on and on, so you help me. You've got

  46. to help me, Holy Ghost. You've got to help me

  47. today to preach. Lord, Brother Rich needs a touch

  48. in his body, that heart muscle. The blockage

  49. is there. It needs to be open. It needs to be

  50. cleared. Touch him. Touch Sister Kim, Lord, and

  51. her digestion. Lord, touch her today. Do a healing

  52. work in her body, and we'll give you the praise.

  53. And everyone that's out that is sick today that

  54. we may not know of, Brother John, who's still

  55. recovering, Lord, you're doing a work in his

  56. life. We know it. We can see it. But, Lord, we're

  57. trusting for even more and greater things in

  58. his body. Speak to those muscles, Lord, and that

  59. memory pattern. Let it begin to operate and function,

  60. Lord, and give him the strength that he needs

  61. to go forward. In Christ's name, the church said.

  62. Amen and amen. You can be seated for just a little

  63. while. And again, if you need to go, I understand.

  64. Because 12 is not going to, it ain't going to

  65. touch it unless the Holy Ghost really does help

  66. me today. Hand -me -downs, giving to the next

  67. generation. Talking about the post. General Assembly

  68. vibe and camp meetings of the summer. And I actually

  69. picked up another publication from the Church

  70. of God, Home for Children, and a mission project

  71. that they've got going. And it was titled Building

  72. for the Next Generation, Building the Next Generation.

  73. So there's, and there's, the spirit is moving

  74. across the board. It seems to be this is a theme

  75. that the Spirit of God is moving upon the church

  76. cross, that we, again, stir our hearts, we stir

  77. our minds to the faith of our structure and of

  78. our standard of living. It's faith, amen? It's

  79. the power of the Holy Ghost. It's the moving

  80. of the Spirit and the distinctives. Thankfully

  81. and gratefully, we have a lot of young folk around.

  82. And the generations that need to be passed down

  83. too, they need to see the demonstration. They

  84. need to know that it's okay to come and pray.

  85. You're not out of order. Amen. If you feel the

  86. drawing of the Spirit to get to the altar, get

  87. there. Amen. You get down there and you pray

  88. until you feel good and you get up. You're not

  89. going to hinder me from preaching if you want

  90. to pray while I preach. Amen. That's not going

  91. to bother me. If you need to stay in touch with

  92. the Lord, stay down there and get a hold of the

  93. horns and don't let go. I can preach with you

  94. praying, and hopefully while you're down there,

  95. you'll pray for me. Amen. So encountering God

  96. is what we're here for. Amen. And the Spirit

  97. knows what each of us have need of. I'm telling

  98. you there's enough problems and troubles and

  99. aggravations and frustrations and spiritual battles

  100. in this room to get us all enough to pray for

  101. until eternity comes to an end. And that was

  102. just this past week. That ain't what we're going

  103. to face this coming up week. There's enough trouble.

  104. There's enough problems. There's enough trials,

  105. amen, in this room, amen, to keep us all busy

  106. praying and trusting God for a long, long time.

  107. We don't need another problem. We don't need

  108. another trouble to have something to pray for.

  109. It's here. It's now. It's all around us. But

  110. this generation that's coming up behind us, I

  111. love what Pastor Brian said last week about the

  112. baton. And the greatest moment in a passing of

  113. the baton is when the two are in unity. with

  114. it. That is the most crucial moment of the success

  115. of the race that is set out there. It's why they

  116. both have a hold of it. You can't turn loose

  117. too early and they can't pull it out of the hand

  118. that's trying to pass it on down. There is a

  119. combination. There is a release and it's in stride

  120. and it's right on the moment. And that's what

  121. it's all about. It's passing it down at the right

  122. time and the right moment. It's the reason that

  123. I had that baby brought down here this morning.

  124. People need to know that when God answers prayer,

  125. We are grateful and we are thankful and that

  126. God is still able. You can put it in the hands

  127. of physicians if you want to. You say, well,

  128. they've done a great job. Well, when they come

  129. in and tell you the advance is more than we even

  130. hope or expected for, you put it wherever you

  131. want to, but I put it in the hands of the Lord.

  132. And this generation needs to know that's coming

  133. up behind us and are going to be taking over

  134. the church in the future. They need to know that

  135. there is time to testify and tell of the good

  136. news. and the miraculous things and the wonder

  137. -working power of God. And God is still moving

  138. where people pray and have faith. And they need

  139. to know that it's okay to pray. It's okay to

  140. encounter God. Matter of fact, they need to know

  141. that's the first place they need to go. We need

  142. to go to God in prayer. And so that is why I

  143. think the Lord is stirring across the board for

  144. the church to know because there is a push in

  145. our denomination to get younger, to get younger,

  146. to get younger, to develop younger leadership.

  147. Well, the younger needs wisdom in order to apply

  148. the instruction that they received. Amen? I'm

  149. not talking about this. I told them I'm not ready

  150. to just quite let it go just yet. The time's

  151. coming. But I'm just not hardly there yet, so

  152. don't pull it out of my hand. Hello? Because

  153. I ain't going to let it go. And we're both going

  154. to trip and fall. But there is a time coming,

  155. and we need to discern when that time is. Because

  156. I still think I've got some things that I need

  157. to pour out. And a generation needs to hear and

  158. know that there is still fire in the Pentecostal

  159. movement. There's still an anointing, amen, that

  160. God is ready and willing, that God hadn't withdrawn

  161. his presence. He's not withdrawn his power. He's

  162. still high. He's still lifted up. And this generation

  163. that are growing up around us need to know that.

  164. It is God in whom we serve. Amen. And he's still

  165. high. That's the reason Paul was writing to Timothy

  166. and said, you got to get some instruction to

  167. people and they need to see how we've lived this

  168. thing out. My Lord, it is important how we live

  169. it out. Amen. They need to know if nothing else,

  170. they're going to tell their kids one day, you

  171. should have heard my pastor preach when I was

  172. growing up. Amen. Because there's a generation

  173. coming up. I'm going to just bypass and go on.

  174. We need to fan the fire. Let's just put it that

  175. way. So we have to pass down to the next generation.

  176. Each generation is responsible for the relevance

  177. of the power of God that is handed down to them.

  178. Amen. We cannot get so programmed. We cannot

  179. get so abstract about having church that we fail

  180. to be the church. Amen. That we fail to allow

  181. God to have his way in the church. Look, y 'all

  182. don't get no more panicky about the time than

  183. I do because I know when you check out. I know

  184. when you're over. I know when you're done. I

  185. know I've got just a small amount of time. time

  186. to get it said before you mentally and physically

  187. check out and it's over and done with. And I

  188. know when it happens. There's a change in the

  189. spirit. So I know that happens and it's going

  190. to happen here shortly. So let me move on. Amen.

  191. We have to learn to pass down to the next generation

  192. the power that exists in prayer. We talked about

  193. that the first week. Men ought always to pray.

  194. Amen. And that's the instruction that we have.

  195. We have to learn to pray. Now Pastor Brian didn't

  196. realize it last week. but when he came in to

  197. preach for our back -to -school Sunday with that

  198. don't send them alone message, how many remember

  199. that? And he was talking about faith and the

  200. baton, and he mentioned that faith, the faith

  201. that Timothy was instructed to be reminded of,

  202. of his grandmother and of his mother. There had

  203. to be an evidence there in order to be reminded

  204. of it. Your granny's son was a prayer warrior.

  205. How many's heard that? My God, your mama was

  206. a prayer warrior. Your granddaddy's son was a

  207. preacher of the gospel. daddy was an anointed

  208. Holy Spirit filled preacher of the gospel. I've

  209. seen your granddaddy lay hands on the sick and

  210. they recover. I've seen them, amen, cancers fall

  211. and eyes open. I've witnessed it. And this generation

  212. needs to know that the same God of yesteryear

  213. is the same God of the day. He's the God who

  214. was, is, and always will be. And this generation

  215. needs to know that they can call upon him and

  216. he will answer them when the Pray. Pastor Brian

  217. talked about passing down the faith. Don't send

  218. these kids into this school year alone. Not even

  219. realizing it's point two on the hand -me -down

  220. sermon given to the next generation. The next

  221. generation needs to know about the faith that

  222. you and I are living out. Amen. And if you're

  223. not living out your faith, I question your relationship

  224. with Jesus Christ. I don't care to just go online

  225. saying, if you're not in faith today, then you're

  226. outside the blood covenant and you don't know

  227. Christ is your Savior. Honey, if you ain't living

  228. it, you ain't got it. I'm sorry. Because if you

  229. have him in free pardon of sin, and I'm not talking

  230. about the baptism of the Holy Ghost right now,

  231. I'm talking about the presence of the Holy Spirit

  232. that moves in upon the day you accept Christ

  233. and repent of your, he is in you, then my God,

  234. if he's not evident in your life, if you still

  235. talk like, act like, look like, go where, listen

  236. to all the junk you did before you claim to receive

  237. him, you do not have the presence of the Spirit

  238. and the washed blood of Jesus. This generation

  239. needs to know you've got to live it. There's

  240. more to this than profession. So many people

  241. profess one thing, but they're totally something

  242. else. Your profession and your confession and

  243. your living must align together. Well, my God,

  244. that's good preaching. I stayed a quarter after

  245. 12 to hear some of that. 1220 might be a stretch,

  246. but hand me down faith. We got to let these young

  247. people know. You do realize that's why we have

  248. families sit in from kids' church. Them little

  249. children, I know you get aggravated making them

  250. sit still, but make them sit still. I promise

  251. you won't hurt my feelings for one to squall

  252. out because you smacked that leg. You won't hurt

  253. my feelings if you have to get them up, take

  254. them outside and me hear you wear it high and

  255. in out the foyer and bring them back in and them

  256. going, you're good with me and right now I'm

  257. the only one that really counts. Had a youth

  258. pastor one time, we went to a restaurant to eat

  259. and his little... Heathens wouldn't behave. And

  260. they always like to threaten their young 'uns

  261. with the pastor. Don't do that. I love your children.

  262. They run up to me. I meet them in the hallway.

  263. They'll grab me and they hug me. And that really

  264. makes a pastor. But if you need somebody to get

  265. them, I can. But I don't want to. So they begin

  266. to threaten the children. With pastor sitting

  267. at the head of the table, and this is one of

  268. them Sundays it took forever to get our food.

  269. He's running laps around the table, and it's

  270. about second lap, about all I could do. So he

  271. kept parenting his style, and I said, if you

  272. don't quit lying to that boy, I'm going to take

  273. you out. Well, what do you mean? I said, quit

  274. threatening him. Take him out there and whoop

  275. his hind end. Don't lie to them. My Lord, I'm

  276. feeling it this morning. So, directly, he got

  277. tired of it. Out they went. Wasn't gone long

  278. enough to do what I'd have done. Come back in,

  279. the boy was laughing. I said, you didn't do something

  280. right. What do you mean, pastor? I said, he's

  281. laughing. He's laughing. If I've got to get up

  282. from the dinner table, to take you outside, you

  283. are not laughing when we come back in this place.

  284. You won't even look up when we come in here.

  285. How we got, there goes one. I didn't mean that,

  286. y 'all. I didn't mean that. That's my buddy.

  287. Don't be rough on him. My Lord, that boy, he's

  288. my buddy. That's a little briar. Take him on

  289. outside where I don't have to hear him. It never

  290. fails. And you know you're always that parent.

  291. Yours does it right when pastor's dropping the

  292. hammer. And you're the one that's got to get

  293. up. My Lord. We've got to pass it down. We have

  294. to pass it down to faith. Faith is the substance

  295. of things hoped for and evidence of things not

  296. seen. It's got to go on. It's impossible to please

  297. God without faith. And I'm trying to get to where

  298. I'm trying to get. And just to touch back up

  299. on this. And that's what he preached to us last

  300. week. You send them to school with faith. You

  301. send them believing. You don't send them alone.

  302. You send God with them. Amen. We've led them

  303. to the Lord. You've led them to the Lord. And

  304. they lead them to the Lord in kids' church. And

  305. they lead them to the Lord on Wednesday nights.

  306. And they preach to them the gospel. And so they're

  307. not going alone. But I'm telling you, we're in

  308. a generation in the world who do not know Christ.

  309. That's what happened in Judges 2. There was a

  310. generation after Joshua who rose up and did not

  311. know the Lord. But I'm going to tell you, if

  312. you bring them here, they're going to know who

  313. the Lord is. Amen. We're going to teach them

  314. and we're going to preach them. And I'm trying

  315. to pass down the distinctives. You can trust

  316. God. You can believe God for anything you need

  317. in your life. Amen. I told you the other week

  318. that little quote that we read, any burden that's

  319. too small to pray about. is too small to worry

  320. about. Amen? So if you're worrying over it, take

  321. it to the Lord in prayer. Pass down faith. Faith

  322. believes before it sees, and whether it sees

  323. or not, that's faith. Faith prays when nothing

  324. changes. Hello? Because prayer isn't about what

  325. changes. It's about my trust and confidence in

  326. God. The more you pray, the more you're in communion

  327. with God, the less you worry about whether the

  328. thing changes or not. You're just concerned about

  329. being in his presence. Faith praises before the

  330. breakthrough ever comes. Matter of fact, that's

  331. one of the purest forms of faith that you can

  332. exhibit toward God is that you praise God in

  333. the middle of the storm. Whether the storm's

  334. breaking, whether the clouds are parting, whether

  335. peace is on its way or not, the purest form is

  336. faith. It's when you praise God because you know

  337. he can. Whether he does or not is not the issue,

  338. but he can at any moment break into your situation

  339. and breakthrough be evident in the power of your

  340. life. Because of the power of the grace of God.

  341. Because by faith. Faith comes by hearing. Hearing

  342. by the word of God. And we move from faith to

  343. faith. We have to pass these distinctives on.

  344. Generations that are following must hear the

  345. testimonies of God's miraculous power. We keep

  346. in prayer. Moving forward, we've got the distinctive

  347. of prayer. We have the distinctive of faith.

  348. We don't send them alone. We send God with them.

  349. We ask the Holy Ghost to accompany them when

  350. they go through school and when they've got to

  351. make hard decisions to be right and remain right

  352. and remain true. Holy Ghost, give them the boldness

  353. to walk away. Amen. And he goes with them. Jesus

  354. made that declaration. I'll go with you all the

  355. way even to the end of the age. I'm going with

  356. you. I'll never leave you and I'll never forsake

  357. you. And so we instill in them the hope and the

  358. trust and the faith that they can have in God.

  359. That God goes with them. They don't go alone.

  360. The distinctive of a Pentecostal church. I don't

  361. know what it's like in many others. I've never

  362. been to many. I don't know what they do. I don't

  363. know how they worship. I know we don't wave an

  364. incense canter as we come down. I don't have

  365. a nice gold pole that I walk with. I'd use it

  366. to duck hunt with probably. Keep me from falling

  367. in the mud. Probably more practical use. Lord,

  368. I said that, didn't I? All I know is what I've

  369. cut my teeth on. All I know is what they teach

  370. and preach and practice in the church of God.

  371. Amen. And what has been lived out in front of

  372. me as testimony as to the power and the wonder

  373. -working power of God. The saving power of Jesus

  374. Christ. The cleansing power of the blood of that

  375. sacrificial lamb. Amen. Jesus washed me. That's

  376. all I know. And all I know is there is an ability

  377. that's gifted to me from the Spirit to live a

  378. sanctified life. I'm about to say a strange word

  379. anymore today. Living a sanctified life. A life

  380. separated, untainted, untouched, unmarked by

  381. the world and the practices and the acts of the

  382. world. Can I tell you the Holy Spirit is able

  383. to sanctify you and set you apart. You do not

  384. have to be dominated by the power and the effects

  385. of sin in your life. The devil don't have to

  386. have his way with you. There is a power of grace

  387. and we need to pass down to this next generation.

  388. You need to be sanctified by the Holy Ghost and

  389. the washing of the regeneration of the Word of

  390. God. Because when he sanctifies you, it prepares

  391. you for a habitation of his indwelling. and you

  392. need the power of the Holy Ghost in your life.

  393. Woo! They need to know that God still baptizes

  394. according to His Word. The parameters and the

  395. instruction and the infallibility of His Word.

  396. Peter said, And to as many as the Lord our God

  397. shall call, this that is that which was prophesied

  398. by Joel is available. the Holy Ghost. Matter

  399. of fact, you need the Holy Ghost. Well, I don't

  400. know about that talking in tongues part. Well,

  401. get over that part. You use your tongue every

  402. day. The problem is we have to yield it for just

  403. a brief moment to the Holy Ghost. That's your

  404. problem. You don't want to yield it. Well, I'm

  405. afraid. Of what? Of who? You're afraid. Well,

  406. I'm afraid. Scared. Scared of what? I told a

  407. young lady yesterday down at the cams, new minister's

  408. training coming in, getting started. We have

  409. entrance interviews. One of the questions is

  410. you have to start making sure they understand

  411. the doctrine and the teaching of the church of

  412. God. Right? Do you believe in the baptism of

  413. the Holy Ghost with the initial, the initial,

  414. somebody say that with me, initial evidence of

  415. speaking in other tongues as, somebody say as,

  416. the Spirit gives the utterance. Yes, we believe

  417. that. So my next question is, have you received

  418. since you believe? The young man who's coming

  419. for his credential said, well, I have. Then he

  420. kind of just leaned, it was funny, he just kind

  421. of leaned to the left a little bit and said,

  422. but she hasn't. And that kind of put the whole

  423. weight right on her shoulders. You know what

  424. I'm saying? And man, the Holy Ghost said to me

  425. real quick, ease her, comfort her. And I looked,

  426. I said, sis, I said, I don't know why, but the

  427. Lord just want me to tell you this. The Holy

  428. Ghost is a perfect gentleman. He will never embarrass

  429. you. He's not going to embarrass you. He's not

  430. going to make you do something that's just really

  431. going to make you look like a fool. No, he does

  432. that to me. Because he knows I could care less

  433. what others think. Woo! I really don't. And son,

  434. the Spirit of the Lord moved in there. The Holy

  435. Ghost moved right there. She began to weep. And

  436. I missed God. And I've repented since about 2

  437. .30 yesterday. I've been repentant. I missed

  438. him. Holy Ghost is all over me, brother Don.

  439. Crying, sobbing right there at the table. And

  440. for the life of me, why I did not get up, walk

  441. around that table and say, sis, if you'll just

  442. raise your hands. It don't have to be in a crowd.

  443. It doesn't have to be out in public. He'll feel

  444. you right here if you'll let him. But not head

  445. me. Sobbed and sucked and blew my snot and we

  446. went on with the interview. And I've repented

  447. ever since. I said, oh God, give me another chance.

  448. I said, I'm not getting by here today without

  449. giving somebody a chance to receive the baptism

  450. of the Holy Ghost. We are a spirit -filled church.

  451. We believe it. The Holy Ghost is still available.

  452. Still pouring out from heaven. That this is still

  453. that that was prophesied by the prophet Joel.

  454. In the last days, saith God, I'll pour out my

  455. Spirit upon all flesh. Young men, old men, dreaming

  456. dreams and having visions. And your maids and

  457. your handmaidens are going to prophesy. Because

  458. this is that. In Acts chapter 2, and when the

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  459. day of Pentecost had fully come. They were gathered

  460. together in an upper room. Why were they in an

  461. upper room? Luke 24. Before Jesus' ascension,

  462. after the resurrection. Are you with me? He leads

  463. his disciples outside the city to the place called

  464. Bethany. And they stop. And he lifts his hands.

  465. And he blesses them. My God, I feel this thing

  466. right now. And this is not even in my notes today.

  467. He blessed them. And then he instructed them.

  468. And he said, go tarry ye in Jerusalem until you

  469. be endued with power from on high. Told them

  470. where to go. This is day 40 after the crucifixion

  471. and resurrection. 40 days Jesus had showed himself

  472. openly. The scripture says to as many as 500.

  473. At one visit. Because I'm going away. If I don't

  474. go. The promise of the father cannot come. But

  475. I'm going. We pick up in Acts 1. Luke is continuing

  476. to write. And while they were standing. He gives

  477. them. Verse 8 of chapter 1. You'll be witnesses

  478. of me after. Somebody say after. And you'll be

  479. witnesses unto me after that the Holy Ghost has

  480. come upon you. And you're going to be witnesses.

  481. Jerusalem. Judea. Samaria. to the uttermost parts

  482. of the world. And as he was speaking, he began

  483. to ascend. Oh, I could just close my eyes and

  484. picture this. Jesus is standing dirt level talking

  485. with them. And then as he's talking, maybe about

  486. the time he gets to Judea, they're kind of tilting

  487. their head up. By the time he gets to, you'll

  488. be into the uttermost parts after the Holy Ghost.

  489. They're looking up at him like this. The mouths,

  490. the higher he goes. We're talking Bible here.

  491. Are you with me? I'm not making this up. This

  492. isn't make -believe. This isn't fairy tale. This

  493. is the real deal. And he begins to ascend right

  494. in front of their very eyes. And you know how

  495. it is. The further your head goes up, the wider

  496. your mouth gets. It's just a thing. We just do

  497. it. I can see them about the time he's about

  498. to get outside. Amazement. What just happened?

  499. And while they stand there, there's these angels

  500. that appeared, and they're looking up and looking

  501. at them. You ever done that? You see somebody

  502. staring up, you'll start going. Right? And then

  503. if you don't really quickly see what they're

  504. looking at, you say, what you looking at? Now

  505. that's the water's paraphrase of what the angel

  506. said. What you looking at? Looking up, looking

  507. down. You know, it wasn't new to them. Why stand

  508. you gazing? What are you staring at? What do

  509. y 'all keep staring up into heaven for? He told

  510. you this was going to happen. Fellas, this same

  511. Jesus, my God, I feel it this morning. They said,

  512. boys, this is how I would have said it if I was

  513. that angel. Boys, what y 'all looking at? What

  514. are you so amazed for? He told you this was going

  515. to happen. It's exactly what he said was going

  516. to happen. What are you looking at? Why are you

  517. standing here staring at the sky? You've got

  518. a job to do. Let's get busy. This generation

  519. needs to know they don't have to wait until they're

  520. my age or your age to get busy. Because they've

  521. got friends dying and going to hell all around

  522. them. So why are we standing around gazing with

  523. our mouths gapped open? This same Jesus. This

  524. same Jesus in like manner. Oh Lord. He shall

  525. come again. Just like you've seen him go is the

  526. way he's coming back. That's where I want to

  527. go into that. I see Jesus coming in the clouds.

  528. Oh I I hear trumpets sounding so loud. I'd sing

  529. the rest of it if I knew the words. This generation,

  530. don't you, let me talk to us right now. Let me

  531. talk to our generation. Don't start giving up

  532. on Jesus' coming. Don't get in this crowd. Well,

  533. I've heard that all my life. Well, your life

  534. ain't but a drop in the bucket anyhow. It ain't

  535. been a millisecond toward eternity, our little

  536. short life. I'm just saying. But we begin to

  537. equate the promise of God in accordance to our

  538. fallibility, not his infallibility. Well, I've

  539. heard that all my life. I think I'm just going

  540. to quit. Well, you just go right on ahead and

  541. go on to hell if you want to. He's on down there.

  542. But I'm not. Because I realize that my life is

  543. just a flash in the pan. And when I begin to

  544. see what's going on around us today, I'll get

  545. back and preach again next week probably on the

  546. two that I'm missing this morning. On the distinctive

  547. of praise and worship. We're going to get there.

  548. But we got hung up right here this morning because

  549. somebody in here needs to know you don't need

  550. to quit right now. I don't care what has transpired,

  551. what you looking at, what you hung up on. This

  552. same Jesus who made the promise and before you

  553. is living it out. This same Jesus is coming again.

  554. I know you're going through hell. That's all

  555. right. Old Ron Canole said, when you're going

  556. through hell, Don't stop. Amen? Don't stop. If

  557. you catch in hell, my Lord, don't hold it. Let

  558. it go. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Well, I can't

  559. see him, but you've got his promise. And that

  560. same Jesus that promised. He got out of their

  561. vision. He got out of their peripheral. He got

  562. out of their sight. But they're still looking.

  563. They're still hung up. But the mandate is you

  564. go. We got to be going. There's a generation

  565. that needs to know what you know about God. They

  566. need to know what God has done in your life.

  567. That's how we overcome the blood of the Lamb.

  568. And the word of our testimony. I shared with

  569. them this morning. My faith is built when I hear

  570. what God has done in your life. My faith is built

  571. when I see what he has done in the life of a

  572. little bitty innocent baby. My faith is built

  573. when I see where our brother John was at and

  574. where he is, but yet where he's to be. Because

  575. a hand of God has intervened. Many of you are

  576. here today because a hand of God has intervened.

  577. And these young people need to know that that

  578. intervention matters. It matters. And we're here.

  579. And he's here to do great and mighty and wonderful

  580. things. So these distinctives that we're endeavoring

  581. to pass on are spirit -filled, spirit -mandated.

  582. We believe that Jesus is alive. I believe he's

  583. alive. I believe the Holy Ghost is still available.

  584. You know why I cannot be convinced that spirit

  585. baptism with the evidence and speaking in tongues

  586. has stopped, ceased, that God doesn't do that

  587. anymore? Can I be honest with you this morning?

  588. Let me tell you why that no one can convince

  589. me. I don't care how they parse verbs of the

  590. Greek. I don't care what you do. You can't convince

  591. me that God still doesn't baptize in the Holy

  592. Ghost. Well, pastor, why not? Because he baptized

  593. me. You showed up late. You showed up late. Because

  594. I know I didn't know what to say. And when from

  595. the crown of my head to the sole of my feet he

  596. came in, it just come out. And I had no better

  597. sense than just surrender the will of my tongue.

  598. Well, what do I say? It doesn't matter what you

  599. say. It's an angelic language. It's a heavenly

  600. language. You ain't going to know it anyhow unless

  601. he gives someone else the interpretation thereof.

  602. Honduras. Working in an altar. About a thousand

  603. people in this church. San Pedro Sula. Altar

  604. full. I'm talking about folks in the other parts

  605. of the world. They know how to respond to God

  606. better than we do. Matter of fact, they respond

  607. like we used to. They come a running. It's full.

  608. You just got your hands holed up. You're just

  609. laying hands on folks and working through and

  610. trying to drag a translator with you to tell

  611. it when the Lord gives you something to give

  612. them. Well, after this service over, they're

  613. carrying people out. It was one of them, boy.

  614. There's a young man set about right here where

  615. Ken's at. He sat there until everybody was gone.

  616. And he come up to me. Never seen this boy in

  617. my life. He said, do you know Spanish? I said,

  618. taco burrito. Hola. Buenos dias. That's what

  619. this southern redneck thing I got. I said, brother,

  620. that's about it. He said, well, I was just wondering.

  621. Translator couldn't catch up. He said, you prayed

  622. in perfect Spanish. And he's weeping. He's weeping.

  623. He didn't tell me what God told him. I didn't

  624. need to know. That's between him and the Lord.

  625. I said, well, receive it. And that young man

  626. left there, I don't know what's happened to him,

  627. I don't know what transpired to him, but I know

  628. that you've come too late. Now look, you don't

  629. have to receive him if you don't want to. I know

  630. there are those out there that say that if you

  631. don't, you can't get into heaven, but that's

  632. not the criteria for heaven. I told you earlier,

  633. the criteria for heaven is repentance and living

  634. a godly life. That's it. That's how you get in.

  635. But there is an enabling power of God to help

  636. you live it while you're here. There are days

  637. that I'd wondered what I'd have done if I had

  638. not the power of the Holy Ghost. To be frank

  639. with you, I'd have been in a lot of trouble because

  640. I'd have slapped a lot of people. Chuckle, laugh,

  641. do it. It's just the truth. I'd have been whooped

  642. more times than not. That's okay too. But with

  643. the Holy Ghost, I've been able so far by the

  644. work of sanctification in my life. The power

  645. of the Holy Ghost so far I've been able to maintain.

  646. The upright walk. Not perfect because I have

  647. to repent regularly. But this generation needs

  648. to know that there is a power present to help

  649. them live in the difficulties of this life. We've

  650. got some of you that were teenagers in the 30s

  651. in here. No, I'm just kidding. 40s. And you know

  652. how, you know what Elvis and all them done in

  653. the 50s for y 'all and the struggle that all

  654. that was. It was a struggle, wasn't it? Look

  655. at what this bunch has got to live through now.

  656. There was at least common sense seemed to be

  657. readily available. That's at a bare minimum these

  658. days for this generation. Common sense in our

  659. government, people lost their ever -loving mind.

  660. Woe unto them that call evil good and good evil.

  661. What the book says. We discussed it this morning.

  662. It sickened my heart to watch that governor.

  663. Sign into law. Abortion up to birth. Up to birth.

  664. And you know how they get around that, don't

  665. you? They turn them around backwards and pull

  666. them out feet first and before they get all the

  667. way out, then they do their deed. They're not

  668. born till the heads clear the wound. Evil. I

  669. don't care. I'd look them, governor, president.

  670. I don't really care. You sign that, evil. You

  671. stand behind them in a circle and cheer, you

  672. need Jesus. And I hope, I don't know what they

  673. ain't already turned over to be that kind of

  674. evil. This generation needs to know that God

  675. is available. And you can still stand separated.

  676. Lord, what a presence this morning. But the only

  677. way they're going to know that is this present

  678. generation, me, you, us, older than them, living

  679. in front of them. That me, you, us, they see

  680. you pray, actually pray. Why do we have prayerless

  681. churches and generations come? Because they see

  682. a generation that don't pray. They need to hear

  683. of our belief. Of what God has done. And answers

  684. that he has provided. Or grace that he has gifted.

  685. Sometimes it's not always about answers. It's

  686. about that grace that he gives to endure. They

  687. need to know. That's why we teach our children.

  688. You don't always get what you want. You get what

  689. you need. Stand with me. I quit. I quit. There

  690. is a grace available. For those of you in here

  691. this morning that do not have the baptism in

  692. the Holy Ghost, if you want to come and seek

  693. the baptism of the Holy Ghost, I invite you to

  694. come. If you don't know what that is, I invite

  695. you to start reading and studying. And begin

  696. to develop a hunger to receive the baptism of

  697. the Holy Spirit in your life. If you're in this

  698. house this morning and you need God to do something

  699. miraculous in your life, I want to pray with

  700. you before you leave here today. Because He is

  701. the miracle worker. If you're in this generation

  702. that is longing and confused about everything

  703. that's going on around you, I want you to come.

  704. I want to pray with you that the Lord show you

  705. things and instruct you ways in your life through

  706. the power of His Word. I want to be a church

  707. noted for the distinctives of the Word of God.

  708. It's not just opinion of man. If it ain't rooted

  709. in the book, I don't want it. If it's not in

  710. here, I'm not going to share it with you. But

  711. if it's in here, I'm going to share it with you

  712. and tell you it's available for you. Father,

  713. in the name of Jesus. Anybody need prayer in

  714. the house, I want you to come on. I want you

  715. to come on. If you're sick, need healing, come

  716. on. On these Sunday morning ending altar times.

  717. I know I may get specific at times with what

  718. I'm inviting you for, but if you need prayer

  719. for anything, this is where you need to come.

  720. You need a prayer cloth. Don't wait until church

  721. is over. Come get one. Come on down here now

  722. and let's get one. And I want you to take it

  723. with you. Anybody else need prayer?
