  1. Come on. Hallelujah. Glory to the Son of God.

  2. Clap my hands and sing glory. Bowed on my knees

  3. and cried holy. Holy to the Son of God. Close

  4. your eyes and just picture those seraphim right

  5. now. Around the majestic throne of glory. The

  6. indescribable. Ezekiel said, I can't tell you

  7. what it looks like, but it appears to be a wheel

  8. within a wheel, and there's all manner of colors,

  9. and this thing's sparkling, and it's illuminating.

  10. And there they are. Two wings, they're covering

  11. their feet. Two wings, they're covering their

  12. face. And two wings, they're flying and crying,

  13. holy, holy, holy. It's the Lord God Almighty.

  14. Holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy. You get that

  15. old base angel saying, holy, holy, holy, holy.

  16. Well, hallelujah. Get your Bible if you can and

  17. hang on. I told some of them coming in this morning,

  18. I said, keep your hands and feet in the cart

  19. at all times. Don't unbuckle until she comes

  20. to a complete stop. Well, hallelujah. As if we

  21. need anything else to pray about. Or to praise

  22. him about, rather. Sister Carolyn got a phone

  23. call just a minute ago. Right? Just a few minutes

  24. ago. You got it? In church. In church. During

  25. church. Got a phone call. A very important phone

  26. call. Medicare's granted the extension. Brother

  27. John gets to stay a little longer at Siskins

  28. for the rehab. Can I tell you, he's on time.

  29. He's an on -time God. Not a sign. Praise the

  30. Lord. He is healer. He's our healer. Amen. All

  31. right. Open with me to the gospel of Mark chapter

    Mark 1 chapter mention

  32. 1. Mark's gospel chapter 1. Siri, go to sleep

  33. or turn to your Bible 1. I've got this here for

  34. your sake, not just for mine only. My Lord. Mark's

  35. Gospel, chapter 1, verse 1. The beginning of

  36. the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Got

  37. to get all that clear. As it is written in the

  38. prophets, behold, I send my messenger before

  39. thy face, which shall prepare thy way before

  40. thee. The voice of one crying in the wilderness,

  41. prepare ye the way of the Lord. Make his path

  42. straight. John did baptize. in the wilderness

  43. and preached the baptism of repentance for the

  44. remission of sins. And there went out unto him

  45. all the land of Judea and they of Jerusalem and

  46. were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan

  47. confessing their sins. And John was clothed with

  48. camel's hair and with a girdle. of a skin about

  49. his loins, and he did eat locusts and wild honey,

  50. and he preached, saying, There cometh one mightier

  51. than I after me, the latchest of whose shoes

  52. I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. I

  53. indeed have baptized you with water, but he shall

  54. baptize you with the Holy Ghost. And it came

  55. to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth

  56. of Galilee and was baptized of John in Jordan.

  57. And straightway coming up out of the water, he

  58. saw the heavens open and the Spirit like a dove

  59. descended upon him. And there came a voice from

  60. heaven saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom

  61. I am well pleased. And immediately the Spirit

  62. drive them into the wilderness. And he was there

  63. in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan.

  64. And was with the wild beast. And the angels ministered

  65. to him. I want to continue on our series. Hand

  66. -me -downs. Hand -me -downs given to the next

  67. generation. And today I want us to look at. Pass

  68. me the gospel please. Pass me the gospel. Please.

  69. And we're going to look at the fullness of the

  70. gospel. The five -fold gospel. Not the five -fold

  71. ministry, but the five -fold gospel. Well, what

  72. is that, Pastor? I know Ephesians 4 lays out

  73. the five -fold ministry. Well, what's the five

  74. -fold gospel? It's this gospel that John's talking

  75. about. It's Jesus as your Savior, your sanctifier,

  76. your spirit baptizer, your Holy Ghost baptizer.

  77. Did we not just read from the book? Did we? Okay.

  78. I just want to make sure. I don't want you to

  79. mistake I'm going to make something up. Jesus

  80. as your Holy Ghost baptizer, as your healer.

  81. And as our soon returning king. That's the five

  82. -fold gospel. And let's see where we get in the

  83. next hour to get there. Amen. Lord, I love you

  84. and I thank you and I praise you. Your word is

  85. true. The power of your might is real. And as

  86. we are here today, I ask your help. Lord, with

  87. that liberty that makes it easy to preach, Lord,

  88. that we declare what it is you wish for your

  89. people and we'll glorify you in it all as we

  90. endeavor to hand it on down. And the church said,

  91. amen and amen. You can be seated. To get you

  92. just a little bit up to date, this is part four.

  93. I don't know how many we'll end up with, but

  94. this is part four. We started out with passing

  95. to the next generation prayer. Amen. How the

  96. next generation, the upcoming generation, need

  97. to know how to pray. Pastor Brian brought the

  98. second segment of this series on don't send them

  99. alone. Went on our back to school Sunday. He

  100. preached about sending our kids out and back

  101. to school or wherever they go. not to send them

  102. alone, but with the faith that they have in Jesus

  103. Christ. Amen. And last week we picked up on that

  104. faith and ended up getting toward where we need

  105. to pass down the power of the Spirit and our

  106. testimony in the fact that God is still God and

  107. the Holy Ghost is still available. Amen. And

  108. as I'm praying this week, this thought of the

  109. five -fold gospel really just began to... Well

  110. up with inside me. And we need to be able to

  111. pass it on down. We need to pass the whole gospel

  112. down. Amen. We're a full gospel believing, Bible

  113. preaching, Bible believing church. Amen. We don't

  114. take parts. We don't pick parts. We take the

  115. whole thing. And if God said it, he meant it.

  116. And if he said it's available, then it's still

  117. available. Amen. It's not like when you're shopping

  118. on Amazon and it says out of stock. No, the Holy

  119. Ghost is not out of stock. He's still ready.

  120. He's still available. And God's desire is that

  121. we receive him. Amen. So when we look this morning

  122. at our text, our text begins a transitional shift,

  123. if you will. The thought we've talked about some

  124. is a passing of the baton, if you will. And that

  125. is what's happening here is there is a shift

  126. in the spirit realm and what's going on on the

  127. earth, not just from heaven. Amen. spiritual

  128. shifts that we encounter we experience them by

  129. the spirit in the spirit through the spirit but

  130. here we see this transitional shift taking place

  131. on the earth because God has sent his only begotten

  132. son to the earth right Jesus is now About to

  133. enter into his ministry. About 33 years old.

  134. 30 years old. About to enter into his ministry.

  135. And he's about to come on the scene. And the

  136. last of the Old Testament prophets have been

  137. in the wilderness preaching. John's been preaching.

  138. He's been preaching repentance. Hello. That's

  139. not a new message. Amen. Repentance is not a

  140. new message. And as we are beginning to see the

  141. baton pass, John began to declare it himself.

  142. The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ,

  143. the Son of God. And then Mark begins to record

  144. the words of the Old Testament prophets before

  145. John. As it is written in the prophets, behold,

  146. I send my messenger before you. He is the one

  147. that is running before. Amen. You go into John's

  148. gospel and read. And they approached John and

  149. they asked him, are you the one? He said, no,

  150. I'm not the one. I am not he. I'm not the Christ.

  151. I'm not the one you're searching for. But I am

  152. the voice and I've come crying in the wilderness.

  153. And what I have been told to do is to prepare

  154. the way of the Lord because he's soon coming.

  155. He's on the heels of my word. History, if you

  156. will, is marked by such transitions. The Old

  157. Testament has many such shifts of spirit. work

  158. on the face of the earth. The ark is one. The

  159. tower of Babel was a shift. And then the ark

  160. comes when Noah builds the ark for the saving

  161. of his people. Amen. And that shift begins to

  162. go further. You have the call of Abraham after

  163. the ark settles. You have the call of Abraham.

  164. You have the covenant transformed on and passed

  165. on to Isaac. You see it passed on to Jacob. You

  166. see Jacob in bondage. You see these shifts. taking

  167. place. 400 years after Jacob takes Israel down

  168. into Egypt and where they're going to be spared,

  169. but yet God was going to prepare them in Egypt

  170. for the promise that was ahead, which was the

  171. next shift. Amen. When they come out of bondage,

  172. 400 plus years after they went into Egypt, the

  173. Lord sent the deliverer. The shift happened when

  174. Moses went out into the wilderness and on the

  175. backside of the desert, he's over there guarding

  176. his father -in -law, And he sees the bush that

  177. is burning. You're talking about a shift. Are

  178. you with me this morning? This transitional shift.

  179. He stands and he hears the voice of God. He takes

  180. his shoes off. He's on holy ground. And he hears

  181. God send him back with a message to deliver his

  182. people. And you move further past that deliverance

  183. out of bondage. And you continue to make your

  184. way through to the promise actually being acquired

  185. as they go into the promised land. The land that

  186. is flowing with milk and honey. deliverance after

  187. deliverance. You see Israel demand a king. You

  188. see God give another shift in them before they

  189. received a king. They simply went by the instruction

  190. of the Lord through the man of God of the hour.

  191. When the spirit of the Lord would come upon the

  192. prophet, he would stand and proclaim, thus saith

  193. the Lord. But the people, can somebody say the

  194. people? It's always the people. It was the people

  195. at Babel. It was the people in the wilderness.

  196. Amen. Oh, Aaron, Aaron, Aaron. Aaron, would you

  197. form us a golden calf? Would you make us a God

  198. that we can worship? Amen. It's always the people.

  199. And the people say, we want a king like everybody

  200. else. And then when their king that they asked

  201. for failed and disobeyed God, and the man of

  202. God stands in front of him, he put it back on

  203. the people. Well, the people, the people, they

  204. wanted to do this. They said we should keep this

  205. and offer it unto you. But look, no, the Lord

  206. didn't require the sacrifice. He required. Desired

  207. obedience. Come on, somebody. There's a shifting

  208. back and forth. You have to be careful today

  209. because preachers will put it on the people,

  210. and then the people will point at the preacher.

  211. It's always the blame game. Who's at fault? Who's

  212. here? Who's there? Who's this? And who's at fault?

  213. Well, I tell you, when we stand before God one

  214. day, we're all going to be held accountable.

  215. You will be held accountable. And that's why

  216. I preach the way I do because I know that I'll

  217. be held accountable for what I declare. As thus

  218. saith the Lord. and I endeavor to bring it from

  219. the book. So if you've got a problem, you take

  220. it up with the book and the author of the book,

  221. amen. Now, you may have a problem with the way

  222. I deliver it, but there's 190 other churches

  223. in town. You can find one that may deliver it

  224. more to your suiting and liking. And by all means,

  225. God bless you, and go eat at another table. But

  226. if you're coming here, honey, we cook taters

  227. on the plate, we slice steak thick, amen, and

  228. we're going to roll with it. And here we have

  229. the shift taking place. And as we see all these

  230. changes and the spiritual shifts taking place,

  231. we today are standing again, I believe, as John

  232. was in a major shift of his day, moving from

  233. a covenant of the Old Testament into that, breaching

  234. upon the New Testament, the Son of the living

  235. God, the Christ, the anointed one, the one who

  236. was sent to take away the sins of this world.

  237. Amen. And we find ourselves living in a moment

  238. in history. the timeline of the story of the

  239. Christ where crisis avails and the spirit of

  240. this age demands the gospel. Are you hearing

  241. me? The crisis of our age and the crisis of the

  242. day and time in which we live in, it is not something

  243. suggestatory, but there is a demand for the good

  244. news of the gospel of Jesus Christ in our culture

  245. and in our society. People need to know that

  246. there is an escape. People are bound up. They're

  247. wrapped up in the thought process of their mind,

  248. and they feel like they're hopeless, and there's

  249. no way out. I'm here to tell you there is a way

  250. out, my God. It doesn't matter if everything

  251. around you falls apart. You can rest assured

  252. in the heart of your soul, of your innermost

  253. being, that all will be well. It is blessed assurance.

  254. Jesus is mine. Hallelujah. So here we stand as

  255. John at the crux of another spiritual shift.

  256. We see such shifts take place in the New Testament

  257. as well. Acts 27 records the storm -tossed ship

  258. which the Apostle Paul is on as he's on his journey

  259. toward Rome. That is a great representation of

  260. the church today, that ship tossed by the wind,

  261. tossed by turbulence. Amen? Tossed by chaos,

  262. the chaos of our time. Don't you feel tossed?

  263. Don't you feel like it's turmoil all around you?

  264. I know I do. When I begin to look and I see what

  265. life is bringing, and you try not to watch the

  266. news, amen, because you don't want to see that.

  267. It ain't nothing but bad news, and there's hardly

  268. ever any good news, amen, out there. Not to be

  269. ignorant, not to be just misaligned with our

  270. head in the sand, but you've got to know what

  271. you need to know. But if we're not careful, we'll

  272. get so inundated by what the next negativity

  273. of this world that we forget that we're not of

  274. this world. Amen. You'll forget that we're only

  275. passing through. We're sojourning. We're just

  276. going through. The old songwriter said, this

  277. old world is not my home. I'm only passing by.

  278. Amen. And if we're not careful, though, we'll

  279. let the crisis and the chaos and the turmoil

  280. of the world and the spirit of this age and the

  281. compromise of the church, amen, where holiness

  282. is compromised. We'll let the compromise of the

  283. age begin to sweep in, and it'll take your hope

  284. away if you're not careful. So here we stand

  285. in history's timeline. In the same way, natural

  286. disasters, false teachings, compromise in the

  287. church, pandemics, earthquakes in diverse places,

  288. and on and on and on and on and on it goes. It

  289. is truly a fulfillment of Luke 21 and Matthew

  290. 24. And these signs will be in the sun and the

  291. moon and the stars and on the earth. Distress

  292. of nations where perplexity, the sea and the

  293. waves roaring, men's hearts failing them from

  294. fear. Amen. And the expectation of those things

  295. which... are coming on the earth for the powers

  296. of heaven will be shaken. Whatever can be shaken

  297. will be shaken. And men who have no faith and

  298. trust in God will be shaken to the core because

  299. of the fear of the ending age. But let me just

  300. stop right here for a moment. I am not in fear

  301. of the ending age because when this age comes

  302. to the end, there is another shift taking place.

  303. There's another major shift yet to be made. Amen.

  304. Oh, when our Lord is coming back to earth again.

  305. Oh, yes, our Lord is coming back to earth again.

  306. Satan will be bound a thousand years and will

  307. have no tempter then. After Jesus shall come

  308. back to earth again. There's another shift coming.

  309. That's the one I wait for. So look, as chaos

  310. begins to rise and turmoil and false teachers

  311. and all of this disdain for all that is holy.

  312. Can I just do a little pet peeve? Y 'all give

  313. me just a minute. Just give me a minute. Don't

  314. take this away from the serious stuff, but it

  315. just bothered me. I saw, I'm going to have to

  316. quit looking. I just know it. But I saw a little

  317. post this morning. Didn't need to hit me this

  318. morning, but I saw it. About... Had a picture

  319. of a preacher at the door. And it was about the

  320. holiness of the sanctuary. And it told a little

  321. story about a fella having it real rough and

  322. real hard. passing his church, and he decided

  323. that he wanted to go in. And every Sunday morning,

  324. he always got his Starbucks. And the little meme,

  325. the little picture had a big sign that says,

  326. no food or drinks in the sanctuary. And had this

  327. fellow standing there with this dejected look

  328. on his face with his coffee. And the point was

  329. this. This is where it got me. Tried to... Turn

  330. it on the folks of us who still revere the sanctuary

  331. as the holy place where we come meet God, where

  332. God does the miraculous, you know, trying to

  333. make us feel like we don't care about people's

  334. hurting needs and they've been in hell all week

  335. and they just want to sit in and sip on their

  336. coffee. Look, this ain't entertainment. I'm not

  337. here to entertain you, honey. We're not here

  338. about entertainment. When we come through these

  339. doors, it's about the sanctuary of God. You say,

  340. well, you're just old school. Will you hold on

  341. another two to seven and I'll be out of your

  342. way and maybe he won't be as hard as I am. But

  343. I still call this, but if he gets anything from

  344. me, he's going to hold the standard, honey. Amen.

  345. I just don't believe it. They had a plate of

  346. honey buns and a plate of donuts. And it's like

  347. those of us who still revere the pulpit as a

  348. sacred desk. And those of us who still revere

  349. that the altar is where you come and you meet

  350. a holy God. And when you come into the sanctuary,

  351. this is the courts of his praise. And they begin

  352. to try to make us feel. that we don't care and

  353. we don't love. I'm here to tell you right now,

  354. I love you and I care about the hell you're going

  355. through enough to not have you to worry about

  356. when the invitation comes, what are you going

  357. to do with your cup? My God, I'm trying to take

  358. away a hindrance from you because when the spirit

  359. moves on you, I don't want you to have to pass

  360. your Starbucks to somebody else to come and get

  361. some for the Lord because you may just miss what

  362. he has for you, honey. And I don't want you humbled.

  363. you encumbered. I want you ready. I care about

  364. you. Preacher Green grinning at me over here.

  365. That's my rant for today maybe. But I mean I

  366. read that and I started to try to feel bad. I

  367. thought well why? That was the whole intent,

  368. to try to make me feel bad about elevating the

  369. holiness of God instead of the comfort of humanity.

  370. No. Look, I don't mind a little bit of marshmallows

  371. for you young 'uns to keep them quiet. That's

  372. not what I'm saying. Are you hearing me? Pay

  373. attention. But this, this in here. This is the

  374. holy place. This is the holy place. And the reason

  375. it needs to remain holy is because of what I'm

  376. talking about. Because of the chaos and the turmoil

  377. and the affliction and the hell that you're living

  378. through every week. There needs to be a place

  379. that you can come in that is separated from the

  380. world. That you can come in. into the presence

  381. of the Lord and you can encounter him. You don't

  382. have to lift up one hand and shift one hand.

  383. No, you can just come in with both hands surrendered.

  384. And by the way, when we get to the point of passing

  385. on worship and praise, you're going to find out

  386. that the scripture, the Bible, encourages you

  387. and I to extend our hands in position of surrender.

  388. It's five -fold gospel. Matthew 24, 5 -8. For

  389. many will come in my name saying I am the Christ

  390. and that's happened. Still happens today. And

  391. many they will deceive many and you will hear

  392. of wars and rumors of wars. Listen to this. You

  393. need to put this in your Bible. You need to underline

  394. it. You need to circle it. Matthew 24, 5 through

  395. 8. You need to go home and read it. And you need

  396. to dig into it. And you will hear of wars and

  397. of rumors of wars. And here I parenthesize it

  398. on my note. See that you are not troubled. See

  399. that you are not troubled. The Bible says, see

  400. that you are not troubled. He's talking to the

  401. believers. He's talking to the Christ -like ones.

  402. He's talking to his disciples. You're going to

  403. hear of wars and rumors of wars, and there are

  404. going to be false teachers and doctrine deceiving

  405. many, but see that you are not troubled. My God,

  406. what are you saying, Pastor? Stop your panic

  407. mode. This world's going to hell in a handbasket,

  408. and that's the way it's supposed to go. See that

  409. you're not troubled. Oh, he goes on. For all

  410. these things must come to pass. Now, here's another

  411. line. But the end is not yet. For all these things

  412. must come to pass. For nation will rise against

  413. nation, kingdom against kingdom. And there will

  414. be famines and pestilence and earthquakes and

  415. diverse places. And all these are the beginning

  416. of sorrows. So what am I supposed to do? Rejoice,

  417. and again I say rejoice. Rejoice in the Lord

  418. always, and again I say rejoice. Well, why should

  419. I rejoice, Pastor? Because the prophecy of the

  420. book, the words of the Christ are coming to pass

  421. right before your very eyes. If you don't have

  422. any other reason to believe that Jesus is the

  423. Son of God, the one who is the gospel of the

  424. good news, then you ought to look around and

  425. see the chaos and the turmoil and realize, that

  426. every preacher you ever heard preach Jesus to

  427. you has told you the truth. And because I know

  428. the truth, I am not troubled. It takes you praying

  429. a while to get to where you're not troubled.

  430. It takes you walking through some things to not

  431. get troubled. It takes you enduring some hardships

  432. for you to not be troubled. But he said, don't

  433. be troubled. It's all got to happen. 2 Timothy

  434. 4, 3 and 4 says, for the time will come. When

  435. they will not endure sound doctrine, but according

  436. to their own desires, heap to themselves, having

  437. itching ears, they'll heap to themselves teachers,

  438. and they will turn their ears away from the truth

  439. and be turned aside to fables. 3 and 1, 2 Timothy,

  440. but know this, that in the last days perilous

  441. times shall come. Perilous means harsh, savage,

  442. difficult, dangerous, painful, fierce, grievous.

  443. Difficult to deal with. The word describes our

  444. society to a T today. Here we go, moving on.

  445. And we have a world that's trying to live through

  446. this without Jesus. And the whole reason you

  447. and I have been redeemed, saved from our sin,

  448. cleansed from our unrighteousness, is that we

  449. could continue like John and tell the good news

  450. that Jesus Christ is the gospel message. Amen.

  451. He is the Son of God. He is your Savior. In John

  452. 1, 29, 34, here's what John recorded to the words

  453. of John the Baptist. Behold the Lamb of God which

  454. takes away the sins of the world. Who is he talking

  455. about? He's just right here telling you, I'm

  456. not him. I'm not the one. But there's one coming

  457. after me whose shoes, whose sandals, I'm not

  458. worthy to stoop down and unlatch. Well, I'm baptizing

  459. you for remissions of sins. But when he comes,

  460. here's what he's going to do for you. He's going

  461. to baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with some

  462. fire. Amen. He's coming with his fan in his hand.

  463. And now here's John in Jordan baptizing converts.

  464. And he looks up and he sees Jesus coming. And

  465. he said to them, behold, the Lamb of God. which

  466. takes away the sins of the world. But Matthew

  467. would put it like this in 26 through 28. When

  468. Jesus is in that upper room on that last night

  469. of his earthly life, he's up there and he takes

  470. bread and he breaks it, amen? And he hands it

  471. to him and tells him to eat it all. And then

  472. he says this in verse 27. For this is my blood

  473. when he took the cup. Are you hearing me? Jesus

  474. is your Savior. Point number one of this five

  475. -fold is Jesus is your Savior. For this is my

  476. blood of the New Testament shed for the remission

  477. of sins for many. Huh? I got to read another

  478. one to you here just to me. I figure I have to

  479. get over to the stupid thing. See, when you want

  480. it, you can't find it. Help me, Lord. Oh, yeah.

  481. Yeah. I found it. Jesus is your Savior. I just

  482. want to make sure I get it. I want to read it

  483. right. You know what I'm saying? Because I don't

  484. want you leaving here saying, that preacher preached

  485. something crazy. It's not even in the Bible.

  486. But if I read it out of the Bible and then declare

  487. it to you, there's no argument. He is your Savior.

  488. Everybody knows that. Amen. For God so loved

  489. the world that he gave his only begotten son,

  490. that whosoever believeth in him should not perish

  491. but have everlasting life. I just quoted to you

  492. John 1, 28 and 9 in there, where he declared,

  493. Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the

  494. sin of the world. We hear Christ himself saying,

  495. This is the cup of my blood. This is my blood,

  496. which is shed for the remission of many for their

  497. sins. He is the only one. When he declared, I

  498. am the Christ. Come on. Remember when Peter would

  499. ask the question, Who do people say that I am?

  500. Peter said, Well, some say it like that. some

  501. Elijah, some Elijah, some Jeremiah. They even

  502. declare you to be maybe just one of the other

  503. prophets. And then he looked the old boy right

  504. dead in the eye and said, well, Peter, who do

  505. you say that I am? And my God, there was something

  506. went up old Peter's spine and he began to declare,

  507. thou art the Christ. Amen. You need to know that

  508. Christ is not Jesus, his last name. Christ is

  509. his identification. Christ is who he is. He is

  510. the anointed one. He is the redeemed one. He

  511. is the Messiah that was to come. art the Christ,

  512. the Son of the living God. Blessed art thou,

  513. Simon Bar -Jonah, for flesh and blood. Hold up

  514. a minute, brother. Hold up a minute. Flesh and

  515. blood hadn't revealed this unto you. But my Father,

  516. which is in heaven, hath revealed this unto you.

  517. He's your Savior. And he's your sanctifier. Now,

  518. we don't hear a lot of that. But, folks, you

  519. need sanctified. You need to sanctify. Well,

  520. what is that, Pastor? Glad you asked. It means

  521. to be cleansed and set apart. Set apart from

  522. what? What you were and what the world is. What

  523. does that mean? That means you act different.

  524. You talk different. You listen to different music.

  525. Well, how do I get that, you pray? And you begin

  526. to ask Jesus to sanctify you? Well, how does

  527. he do that? Again, great question. Here's your

  528. answer. John 17, 17. Sanctify them through thy

  529. truth. Thy word is truth. Now, let's go to John

  530. 6 if my memory serves me halfway correct. I think

  531. it's John 6. It's where he begins to declare,

  532. I am the way. The what? And no... So he's washing

  533. us. He's the truth. Hebrews 13, 12 says, Wherefore

  534. Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people

  535. with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

  536. You can go look at Hebrews 10, 10 too. And he'll

  537. record it right there for you that Jesus Christ

  538. is the one who sanctifies you. He washes you.

  539. It's a second work of grace is what the old Methodist

  540. preacher John Wesley began to declare. Oh, yeah,

  541. I quote a good Methodist. Oh, John Wesley, he

  542. began to say there is a second work of grace,

  543. and that second work of grace will sanctify you.

  544. Do you know what sanctification actually does

  545. in your life? How many remember when you gave

  546. your heart to the Lord and you went back to work

  547. on Monday around some of those same people? It

  548. was kindly hard, and you still had a desire to

  549. kindly do what they do and say what they say.

  550. laugh at what they laugh at and tell what they

  551. tell and you have a struggle. Anybody else besides

  552. me had a struggle? I had a struggle living that

  553. Christ -like life. Even though I repented of

  554. my sin, I had to repent over and over because

  555. I kept right on sinning. I kept right on getting

  556. it. You know, I just kept right on doing it.

  557. And then I heard the pastor preach about sanctification.

  558. I thought, well, if sanctification will make

  559. it a little easier for me to live right out from

  560. under the weight and the guilt of every time

  561. I sin. Now, if you're not feeling guilt when

  562. you sin, then we got another issue I need to

  563. go back and preach to you about Jesus as your

  564. Savior. Because if you're not convicted from

  565. your sin, We got to get there first. But if you

  566. are, you begin to pray. You begin to seek God

  567. and tell him to sanctify you. And when sanctification

  568. comes into your life, here's the identifier.

  569. This is how I identified sanctification in my

  570. life. When my will to sin changed. My will to

  571. sin. What are you saying, Pat? When my want to

  572. changed. I prayed to Jesus touched me. And a

  573. touch from glory. And it felt just like the day

  574. he rolled the burden of my original sin away.

  575. And I prayed through and I asked him to sanctify

  576. me. And my will, Pastor Terry, to change. My

  577. will changed. I didn't no longer will to sin.

  578. My will was to please the heart of God. Not the

  579. will of old Cliff. My flesh had to die that day.

  580. I prayed, Lord, sanctify me. Now I understand

  581. that I am washed because he is the one who sanctifies

  582. me. He is the one who cleanses me. He is the

  583. one who changes my will to continue to sin. My

  584. God is no longer up and down or in and out for

  585. me. It's more up and down. Amen. I don't go in

  586. and out of his grace. And I know there's that

  587. doctrine out there that says that once you're

  588. in, you're always in. Well, honey, you come too

  589. late to tell me that one because when I was out,

  590. I had enough sense to know. No, inside of me

  591. and down in my knower, I knew if I died in that

  592. unrepentant sin, my God, in the lifestyle that

  593. I was living, I knew hell was my destination.

  594. You didn't have to tell me that. You didn't have

  595. to convince me of that. God just gave me a good

  596. enough sense to know that by reading his book,

  597. I cannot live any old way and still go to heaven.

  598. Well, how come not, pastor? Do you not read the

  599. book, folks? God is holy, and without holiness,

  600. that no man shall see the Lord. Amen? No man.

  601. You can't get in without a holy eye. So I pose

  602. a question. How much sin gets in? He's your sanctifier.

  603. Pray to sanctification. Your will to sin changes.

  604. Your will to cuss. Wash your mouth. Have him

  605. sanctify your eyes. Your eyes are the gateway

  606. to your soul. See, I wouldn't have had to repent

  607. for what I felt about that person who put that

  608. stupid meme this morning. Had I not looked at

  609. it, if it hadn't got in the gate, I wouldn't

  610. have had to ask the Lord to forgive me for what

  611. I thought about him for putting that on there.

  612. I'd say, you idiot. I'll just confess to you.

  613. How stupid. How far... I begin to process how

  614. far are we actually away? How far have we drifted?

  615. How much compromise have we let in that this

  616. is no longer a holy place? This isn't preaching

  617. among my peers. This isn't popular either. No.

  618. No. No, they look at me funny too. And I look

  619. at them like, I'm trying, Brother Milton, not

  620. to have to repent again. I think, how far have

  621. we drifted? I'm not talking about you, the congregation.

  622. Let's get right here on my side of the podium

  623. for a minute. How far has ministry drifted? How

  624. far have we gotten to compromise where we just

  625. want them in, let them bring their donut, let

  626. them bring their gravy and biscuit from Hardee's.

  627. I've picked that stuff up out of Sanctuary before.

  628. And the next Sunday I come in, oh, there was

  629. Hardee cups, biscuit and gravy, little trays

  630. left. On Monday when I made my circle through

  631. the Sanctuary, I got myself a garbage can and

  632. I went to gathering. Next Sunday morning, pastor

  633. come down, 500 people sitting out there. And

  634. I dumped it in front of them. I said, you forgot

  635. your trash last week. You say, uh -oh, I didn't

  636. know you was one of them. I'm one of them. I'm

  637. one of them. I am one of them. Because God is

  638. holy. I don't know why I have to keep coming

  639. to this. Somebody in here thinks that we ought

  640. to compromise. You want your coffee. You want

  641. your honey bun. Well, let me tell you, there's

  642. many places that they'll say you won. Right out

  643. front. Not me. Compromise, but he'll sanctify

  644. you. He'll sanctify you. And we're going to finish

  645. on your spirit baptizer. He is your healer. What

  646. time is it? We got time? No, I've done preached

  647. past your endurance. Who wants to go to heaven?

  648. The rest of you are dismissed. I'm going to preach

  649. on. You don't want to go to heaven, you don't

  650. want to hang around me. Because I assure you,

  651. I am more stringent on my own faith and my own

  652. life than I ever am with you. If I laid on you

  653. how I think we ought to live for sure, and I've

  654. tried to debate between my personal convictions

  655. and the word, but I tell you what, I guarantee

  656. you no more happy than I am living this away.

  657. He's your healer. Jesus is your healer. This

  658. is part of that fivefold. He is your healer.

  659. Savior, sanctifier, he is your healer. By his

  660. stripes, ye are healed. By his stripes, ye are

  661. healed. We preach divine healing. Why? Because

  662. I serve a divine God. And my God is not diminished

  663. in his power. I know there's a bunch out there.

  664. They are called cessationists. They think God

  665. doesn't do anything like that anymore. Well,

  666. you come too late on Friday, Thursday or Friday.

  667. There was no way that they were going to give

  668. an extra day. Not one extra day for Brother John

  669. to stay over there and get something. Not one

  670. extra day was they going to give. So they filed

  671. a reappeal. They done been denied. Amen. What's

  672. that old song in that old red back hymn? It says,

  673. I would not be denied. Oh, I would not be denied.

  674. Right? And so you come too late to tell me that

  675. God still doesn't heal and God still doesn't

  676. do miracles and God still doesn't open doors.

  677. I wonder, anybody in here been divinely, physically

  678. healed in this room? Would you stand to your

  679. feet? I mean, you know had it not been for God,

  680. you wouldn't have what you have today. Look around

  681. you. You come too late to tell these people,

  682. amen, that he is not a healer. is your healer.

  683. Right there sits a man that would have been dead

  684. just a few months ago, but the hand of God touched

  685. his life. I've seen it with my own eyes, amen.

  686. The healer is in the house. You say, well, pastor,

  687. he hadn't healed Sister Kathy or he hadn't healed

  688. this one or he hadn't healed that one. That's

  689. not my call. That's not my priority. You know

  690. what my priority is? My priority is what the

  691. Bible says. If there's any sick among you, let

  692. them call upon the elders of the church and let

  693. them get a bottle of oil. Let them grab a bottle

  694. of Earl. Get a little Earl out and anoint them.

  695. And the prayer of faith shall heal the sick.

  696. And get this, and if they've committed any sin,

  697. they shall be forgiven. He's your healer. So

  698. let me just encourage you. Get real quiet right

  699. here, Brother Scotty. This has got to be good

  700. and clear. Y 'all can sit down. It's got to be

  701. real good and clear. So do not let the devil

  702. talk you into getting down on God because he

  703. healed somebody else and he ain't healed your

  704. loved one. Well, God, why? It's not the why,

  705. it's the why not. Who do we think we are? That

  706. we should never have any trouble? No, no. No,

  707. no, no, no, no. We go through the trouble so

  708. those who are in hell without Christ living in

  709. this world in turmoil, we go through the trouble,

  710. the trial, and the tribulations. We go through

  711. with our hands lifted up knowing that any prayer

  712. that we could pray could be the prayer. Are you

  713. hearing me? The next time you pray, it could

  714. be. You say, well, am I supposed to keep going?

  715. He said, come boldly, and I'm going every time

  716. I can. Amen. I've told you every night before

  717. we lay down, a hand goes on our forehead. And

  718. I say, Lord, you are able. You can heal her if

  719. you will. But if not, I'm still going to praise

  720. you. I'm still going to declare your truth. So,

  721. don't get down on God if things ain't going the

  722. way you want them to go. Could be a lesson for

  723. you. I trust in God. My Savior, the one. Do you?

  724. Do you really trust him? If you trust him as

  725. your healer, you do know that everybody that

  726. stood up a while ago testifying to the healing

  727. power of God. Hold on right here. Do you know

  728. they're going to get sick and die? Well, that's

  729. awful morbid, Pastor. What's morbid about a child

  730. of God dying? See, there again, therein lies

  731. your problem. You're too much worried about this

  732. world. I'm crying with John. Even so, Lord Jesus,

  733. come quickly. You're saying you want to die?

  734. No. I want to go on a rapture. Personally. I

  735. enjoy life in spite of the hell the enemy brings

  736. in it, in spite of all that sin has done to it.

  737. I love life. This is the best two and a half

  738. hours of my week. Right here. Sorry you have

  739. to indulge it all, but I don't feel any better

  740. than I do right here. See, he's your savior.

  741. He's your healer. He's your sanctifier. No other

  742. name. Under heaven, given among men, whereby

  743. we must be saved. But at the name of Jesus, every

  744. knee shall bow. Every tongue shall confess that

  745. he is Lord. So I'm down now and confessing now.

  746. I ain't waiting until then. He's healer. So lift

  747. your head up. Pick your head up. I prayed and

  748. I prayed. Okay. You need more practice. Keep

  749. praying. Well, the heavens are shut up. No, they're

  750. not. No, no, they're wide open. Because if he

  751. shut it up for you, then it ain't open for me.

  752. Heaven's 24 -7. It's better than Walmart. Heaven's

  753. open. Well, why don't he? I don't know that.

  754. It's not his will. Well, why isn't it? Don't

  755. know that either. And let me just tell you this

  756. little secret. I won't be asking him when I get

  757. there either. People say, well, I'm just going

  758. to talk to the Lord, and I'm going to ask him

  759. why. No, you're not. Why waste that split second

  760. of eternity? Why really doesn't matter? Oh, I'm

  761. happiness now. Why don't matter? So put your

  762. smile on your face. Put the joy of the Lord down

  763. in your heart. Let the bucket down in the well

  764. of your salvation, as Isaiah would say, and draw

  765. up a fresh bucket of joy. James said, my brethren,

  766. count it all joy when you fall into divers' different

  767. temptations. He said, the working of your patience

  768. is going to come out like gold. Never, never,

  769. look at me. If you never hear anything else I

  770. say, hear what I'm about to tell you. Never bow

  771. a knee and lift your voice to God and say, God,

  772. give me patience. I'm telling you right now,

  773. that's one prayer I forbid you to pray. Never

  774. let those words cross your lips. I know some

  775. of you are impatient. I know you get hateful

  776. when you're impatient. But that's not the prayer

  777. you want. Because according to the book, trials

  778. and tribulation work with patience. And let me

  779. just tell you how God knows. And when she is

  780. finished. Y 'all just missed that. Patience is

  781. described as feminine. God knows. And evidently

  782. you do too. When it's had its perfect work and

  783. when it's finished with you. You'll be able to

  784. stand then. You won't complain. But look, learn

  785. it now. Just don't complain because you don't

  786. want God to teach you. Pray the other portion

  787. there in James. If any man lacks wisdom, let

  788. him ask of God who giveth unto all men liberally.

  789. Ask him to help you be wise to handle the situation.

  790. Do not ask him for patience because he's just

  791. liable to grant it to you. Yeah, you'll have

  792. two flats. The washing machine and the dryer

  793. will go out. Them little heathens of yours will

  794. carry on at school, and you'll have to go down

  795. there and get them. He's going to work on you,

  796. because you know what? He knows what needs worked

  797. on. All right, number four. He's your soon -coming

  798. king. We're going to have to get number three

  799. next week, ain't we? He's your soon coming king.

  800. Stand with me. I'm going to close with it. I

  801. don't know why we get in a hurry. I don't know

  802. why I get in a hurry. If the Lord don't come,

  803. we got next week. Amen. But if he does come,

  804. here's what it's going to look like. Paul told

  805. the Corinthians, behold, I show you a mystery.

  806. We shall not all sleep. He talked to them about

  807. those who had already fallen asleep, who had

  808. already died. What it was going to look like

  809. for them in the end. To the Thessalonians in

  810. the first letter in the fourth chapter, he says,

  811. there's a trumpet going to sound. There's an

  812. angel that's going to shout. He's our soon coming

  813. king. There's an angel that's going to shout.

  814. And there's going to be another transitional

  815. shift. Those who have died in the Lord are going

  816. to be raised up first. I don't mind to be second.

  817. Matter of fact, the book says the last will be

  818. first. I'd just soon be alive and well to hear

  819. that trumpet. I want you to think about that

  820. in this flesh that we're living in. That we live

  821. our faith up front. We don't compromise. Don't

  822. compromise your faith. You hear me? Live a holy

  823. life. You know what sin is. Stop doing it. That's

  824. what the author of Hebrews said. Let us lay aside

  825. the weight and the sin which doth so easily beset
