Do you know the Bible is God's Holy Word? Do you know it is
-
inspired, in errant, and infallible? If so, like, share,
-
subscribe and support this podcast. So we are mere Nathal Ministries and now Redemption
-
Draweth nigh. Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to the program. We're
-
your host Jose and Matthew. Tonight we are going to talk about the Corinthian
-
Creed, or as the Greek puts it, karuga karuga, very interesting Greek
-
word that comes up in the strangest of places. So, Hose, I
-
take of the You took a look at First Corinthians chapter fifteen, verses there
-
three through eight. Yes, what what's your first impressions of it and what
-
did you later find out about it? Because I'm sure you looked into what
-
this thing is and where it came from. So give us your your opening
-
comments on it, right, Matthew. So, my first impressions is it's
-
a rediteration of the Gospel of what our faith is supposed to be founded on.
-
It's telling us about the resurrection of Jesus and what happened after his resurrection.
-
And the thing that I think that I remember the most from this chapter
-
before, Matthew is the verses that say that if Christ has not been raised
-
from the dead, then our faith is in vain. That's where I remember
-
this chapter the most from. But as I began to look into it a
-
little bit more about what the previous verses are actually saying, there's a lot
-
of evidence, Matthew that this is one of the first Christian creeds that were
-
developed among the early Christians. And essentially it's showing that this resurrection was preached
-
from the very beginning, Matthew. It did not develop at a later time
-
to deify Jesus. It was not, you know, created by the Catholic
-
Church so that you know, it would would convert other Pagans to the new
-
religion. This has been from the very beginning, what the apostles preached,
-
what all the disciples preached, and what those five hundred that witnessed his resurrection,
-
Priest matt preached, Matthew, and it is the foundation of our faith.
-
Without it, again, we our faith is in vain. You know,
-
usually when when you say that in an open forum, whether it be
-
you know, from the pulpit or in a classroom, in any situation,
-
we got more than a few people in it. It surprises me how many
-
of them are like, well, what are you talking about? What,
-
what do you mean? You know, it amazes me that people that call
-
themselves Christians really don't get it that this is the most important thing. This
-
is what was testified about. This is why the martyrs were martyred. This,
-
this is why they held to their guns. That Jesus Christ was the
-
son of God. He was crucified, and on the third day he did
-
rise again. And if that's the case, then that is the case.
-
That is the case, and this sweeps everything else aside. Everything else is
-
null and void compared to this Corinthian creed. Now, lots of people just
-
well, they completely ignore this altogether. Mostly what is talked about in this
-
chapter is all the way down in verses fifty and fifty one, as they
-
twist it into a false teaching. Now, that's too bad that they put
-
this event way out of context and do that. But this year is all
-
the way to begin to give this chapter, and this is why that's being
-
written all the way down there in verse fifty and fifty one. And it's
-
amazing to me how people don't get that this is why the Lord Jesus Christ
-
in his role as prototic coast Necros, the firstborn from the dead. This
-
is the basis, This is the foundation, this teaching that he is the
-
firstborn from the dead of the Book of Revelation. This comes out in the
-
very first chapter. You're absolutely supposed to know this, that this has everything
-
to do with somebody being resurrected from the dead. And of course we find
-
at the end of the book that's exactly what happens, because that's who takes
-
over and rules and reigns with Christ. It's not the bride of Christ.
-
Jose Right. Christians don't have a job during the millennial reign of Christ.
-
They're on their honeymoon, so to speak. The bride of Christ has no
-
job in the millennial kingdom. None. Those who rule and reign with Christ
-
do so because they have followed suit and they have been resurrected Anastasius from the
-
Necros from the dead. They've been resurrected from the dead. That's exactly what
-
Revelation chapter twenty tell us. When you realize that that's the basis for the
-
Book of Revelation, and you realize that's the basis for the entire fifteenth chapter
-
of First Corinthians. It puts everything to a different life. It gets you
-
on God's page, so to speak. You're on God's page because his very
-
first page is this very first Creed, this Corinthian Creed. Now, let's
-
read it. I'm going to read it tonight out of the revised Geneva translation.
-
Why am I doing that? This is a brand new update to the
-
Geneva translation. Only the New Testament is complete. And that's what's important,
-
because since I was a teenager, I've been shouting this from the rooftops.
-
The New Testament is the Adido Regia manuscript. That's where you get your chapters
-
and verses from, not any other manuscript. This is the manuscript that was
-
compiled by Stephanis with the two manuscripts he refused to hand over to the government
-
or to the church. Those two fragments were Iota Alpha and Iota Final Sigma.
-
Everybody that was a Christian at the time knew this was the Bible,
-
God's holy work. They knew that everybody. That's why the government translation,
-
that is to say, the KJV, doesn't hold to the Iddo Regia manuscript.
-
This is why Delich, of course, when he formulated the Hybraica and
-
submitted it for review to not only on Old Ulrich, but to also to
-
Gustav Dohman. What did he make the Hebraic office. That's right, he
-
translated the Adido Regia. So this is a brand new new Testama's called the
-
revised Geneva translation. I'm going to read the Corinthian Creed out of it.
-
For first of all, I delivered to you that which I received, how
-
that Christ died four hours sins according to the scriptures, and that he was
-
buried, and that he rose on the third day according to the scriptures,
-
and that he was seen by Caiaphas, then by the twelve. After that
-
he was seen by more than five hundred brothers at once, of whom many
-
remain to this time, and some also are asleep. After that he was
-
seen by James, then all the Apostles, and last of all he was
-
seen also by me, as by one born at the wrong time. This
-
is it. This is the creed, This is the creed of Christ.
-
This is it. If your event horizon is not this creed, you're something
-
else. You know, Today's Christian Church has largely been ripped apart by free
-
grace Antinomianism. I mean this thing that has run rampant through all the denominations,
-
that you you just become a Christian and it doesn't affect you at all.
-
You keep on living as if you're dead. You continue on in your
-
sins. You need to know this. If you're found in your sins,
-
that is to say, you call yourself a Christian, but you're not.
-
That's because you're a child of disobedience. And the children of disobedience will not
-
be resurrected. That's a fact. Only the children of the Promise will be
-
resurrected. Everybody else. The final chapters of Revelation is quite plain what God
-
intends to do, and he makes it no secret, does he. Jose
-
No, Matthew, here peace himself over and over again. What is to
-
come? What's your thoughts on this creed? What's your thoughts on why this
-
isn't talked about more often? Hose Well, I have a couple thoughts,
-
Matthew. The first is I've been hearing a lot of bad shepherds lately say
-
that Jesus isn't the only way into the Kingdom of Heaven, that if you're
-
born of a different religion, or you're born worshiping a different faith, that
-
as long as you're good you can still enter heaven. Man, these are
-
Christian shepherds that are saying this, Matthew, and I don't know how they
-
think they can get away with it when we clearly see from first Koreanthans fifteen,
-
what we clearly see from other scriptures that you must believe that Jesus was
-
the son of God. You must us believe that he died, was buried,
-
and was resurrected on the third day. Jesus himself addresses this Matthew in
-
Matthew chapter sixteen, where he tells the disciples that he's going to have to
-
die, and he's going to be buried, and he will be raised up
-
on the third day. And Peter himself is the one that says God forbid,
-
and of course Jesus rebukes him. He says, get behind me,
-
Satan. So that's showing you who is behind those lives, Matthew, that
-
there are other ways, other doors into heaven besides Jesus, other ways to
-
the Father. It totally contradicts what Jesus himself said in the scriptures. So
-
those are those are my first initial thoughts, Matthew. And it's bothering me
-
that I'm hearing more and more shepherds say this there, that Jesus is not
-
the only way to the Father. You know, for one, we need
-
to clarify our terminology. Okay, this is how it is, this is
-
how it was, and this is how it will be. I don't care
-
what your position is. I don't care if you're the president. I don't
-
care if you're the Pope. I don't care if you're a preacher. I
-
don't care if you're a Sunday school teacher. If you say that what you
-
are is a heretic, I mean, I don't care if you're the bishop
-
in some denomination. I don't care if you're an elder. I don't care
-
if you're the head of a theological seminary. Your station is irregardless of the
-
simple fact. If you say that, if you believe that you are a
-
heretic, you are not a Christian. So you need to know that,
-
ladies and gentlemen, that the only spirit that would say this is the spirit
-
of Antichrist. Just so you know what you're dealing with. I'm just telling
-
you that to your face or in this case, I guess to your ear
-
as you're listening to this audio, you need to know that it has become
-
rampant on this planet. That Jesus Christ is not the only way it's become
-
rampant. It seems like to me almost all of the Big Game people say
-
that, all of them, and you all need to know that is the
-
spirit of Antichrist. It is, and you need to know this. No
-
matter what you do, you be damned. Let me make sure my dear
-
brother Jose understands this. Jose, I don't care if you say four hundred
-
and fifty thousand hell Mary's. I don't care if you pray the Lord's prayer
-
umpteen times. You be damned, Ose, Amen, I'm going to tell
-
you this the truth. Outside of the Lord Jesus Christ sacrificing himself for you,
-
Jose, and on the third day raising up outside of that and what
-
he done, you be damned. Just so everybody knows. I don't care
-
if you think if giving a whole lot of money to charity will do something
-
for you. I don't care if you think of selling everything you have in
-
making a vow of poverty. I don't care what you think you can do
-
outside of what the Lord Jesus Christ done, You're damned. That's it.
-
If it wasn't for his raising three days after him sacrificing himself for you,
-
you're damned. You're dead. You're dead already. You have no hope.
-
This coript in creed is what shall remain. There is nothing you can do.
-
There's nowhere you can go, there's nothing you can give to atone for
-
your sins. The only thing that can do it is the blood of the
-
Son of God. And now you need to understand that before the resurrection,
-
he was the Son of God. But now that he was resurrected and ascended
-
into the right hand of the Father, he's something else now, and you
-
need to do something to convince yourself of this. He is God the Son,
-
and without God the Son, you be damned. And that's a fuck.
-
I don't care if you call yourself a Presbyterian or a Pentecostal, if
-
you call yourself a Catholic or Baptist or a Lutheran, you be damned.
-
Without that fact, you better sear this into your psyche. Before he resurrected
-
himself, he was the son of God, and on this side of that
-
resurrection. He is God the Son. Besides him, there is no future.
-
I think it's key Matthew. The way this chapter starts off. God
-
says that this is the gospel. He declares this creed the gospel. And
-
I think in modern Christianity we tend to just lump the gospels together as the
-
whole gospel, as we kind of mix all the stories together and say that's
-
the gospel of Jesus. But God himself here is saying that this is the
-
gospel. This is the good news that we are waiting for. This is
-
what we've been promised. It's not you know. Yeah, those the miracles
-
that Jesus performed were to show that he was of the Father. He was
-
there to preach to the Jews. But this is the gospel. This is
-
why, the whole reason he had to come down, like you said,
-
to cleanse us of our sins, to be that blood to clean us and
-
to make us ready for him. And you know, everybody knew this at
-
the time. Let me say that again, everybody knew this at the time.
-
Everybody knows that all the martyrs weren't martyred because they were lying, because
-
nobody would do that for a lie. That's just common knowledge. Yeah.
-
This gospel, Matthew, is what enables you to be a Christian. It's
-
what enables you to walk out there in faith and preach, knowing that even
-
if you are persecuted for that preaching, we will be resurrected. Right.
-
It lets you, It lets you go out there and be a Christian and
-
give the last morsel out of your pantry, knowing that even if you die
-
because of that, we will be resurrected. Matthew. It's it's it's it's
-
the power that allows you to be a Christian. This gospel. I mean
-
literally you're saying in not so many words. I mean you're basically quoting from
-
Revelation twelve, verse eleven. People are probably shocked. They're like, man,
-
how does Matthew do that? I know what you meant. Look,
-
I'm gonna live forever. Do you understand that, Jose? Amen? Amen?
-
If you kill me now, you're just gonna tickle me pink. Just
-
so we're clear, Jose, You're just gonna make me enter my rest beforehand,
-
so I get a greater rest before our into my reward. Do you
-
understand that? Yes? May ye Amen? Matthew, you can't kill me,
-
do you want to? Because the Lord Jesus Christ my savior, because
-
here resurrected and ascended to the right hand of the Father. You can't put
-
me down. I will live forever. Now. This is why. Inside
-
of the Book of Revelation, this is why, inside the Narrative of Revelation,
-
chapter twelve, it says this, and they have conquered him by the
-
blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. For they love
-
not their lives even unto death. Waities and gentlemen, what do you think
-
that meant. Let's try the new American Standard version that was the English Standard
-
version. And they did not love their life even when faced with death.
-
It's one of my favorite sayings in the Bible. And you ask people,
-
They're like, I don't understand what that means. I got a feeling that
-
only God fearing, Bible believing, Gospel preaching Christians understands what that means.
-
Because you can't kill me, you can martyr me, and the only thing
-
that is is a graduation. That's just a graduation for me and the people
-
who are like me, the people who are called by his knee. No
-
matter what you do, you can only improve my situation. It amazes me
-
when I talk about this. I ask people, by the way, do
-
you know what the Greek word for martyr is? Like, what do you
-
mean smarter? Really, what's Greek word for witness? Everybody gets confused until
-
they pull up from their strongs and realize, Oh, it's the same word.
-
I'm here to testify to this. Lord Jesus Christ came and he sacrificed
-
himself for me. He rose on the third day, and he did as
-
sind into heaven on that point in time, which we call today ascension tide.
-
It's ten days before Pentecost. And in doing so, I will live
-
forever because one thing you can't take for me is the Corinthian creed. You
-
can't take it for me, no more than you could make me forget Jesus
-
loves me. I've been singing Jesus loves me since before I could read.
-
And not you or the devil himself can take it from me. As far
-
as I'm concerned, the world can learn the world can be dammed outside of
-
the Lord Jesus Christ, his death and his resurrection. There's that, and
-
then there's oblivion. And it's amazing that this equation really is that simple.
-
It really is. But you know, we had a great outpouring of the
-
spirit of Antichrist. You know, most people would and I do mean most
-
people would argue that Billy Graham is the greatest evangelist that ever lived. Well,
-
he's going to be damned because he's on record, He's on video record.
-
You can get him saying that here after he retired, that Jesus Christ
-
is not the only way to heaven. Will Billy Graham be damned? I
-
don't have a problem with it, of course, you know it doesn't like
-
a rocket scientist to figure out who gave him the money up front to do
-
the Crusades. But doesn't matter to me because because I don't know if you
-
realize this or not, But you know that Jesus rose from the dead for
-
me personally. Did you know that? Amen? Matthew. Absolutely. If
-
you don't know that, Jose, I mean, I know, I've taught
-
you a whole lot of things. But if you don't know that, if
-
you don't know that the Lord Jesus Christ himself, God the Son rose for
-
you, you don't know nothing. You don't know anything. If you don't
-
know that. If you don't hold to that, you're holding on could naught
-
but oblivion. How many times have you heard this talked about? I don't
-
know in the last last year, Jose, maybe once, Matthew, once
-
I've come across this being discussed. But no, it's not. It's not
-
so I guess it's not a common thing. And and and the teachings that
-
I that I come across are focusing on on other things, but not this,
-
Matthew. But honestly, this is what we should be reading every every
-
Resurrection Sunday, right, every every Eastern Mass that that's that's had every Easter
-
service or Resurrection service, however the different churches call it. This should be
-
repeated, Matthew. Do you know what blows me away? I mean,
-
you're asked, how many denominations across the United States, how many hundreds of
-
thousands of churches have communion the first Sunday of the month. I bet I'm
-
just getting ready to shock everybody. You know, the whole purpose to take
-
in communion, ladies and gentlemen, is in remembrance of His sacrifice he made
-
for you, right, Because if you don't know that, if you didn't
-
realize that when you take communion, that's why you're doing it. Then everything
-
you think you know is irrelevant. I mean, I appreciate it. If
-
you may be a higher mathematician, an astrophysicist, or perhaps a surgeon,
-
maybe you're a rocket scientist. I'm telling you you didn't know that, you
-
don't know anything worth knowing, because until you know that, your future's hopeless.
-
Until you know that, you know, Jose, how many times do
-
you hear Jesus refer to as the Son of God at the same time,
-
how many times do you hear him address properly he's God the Son. No,
-
I hear a Son of God more often than God the Son, Matthew.
-
That's kind of disturbing, isn't it. Yes, you know, earlier
-
you and I privately were discussing John chapter five, right. Yes, it's
-
amazing to me. You referred to them as bad shepherds earlier, and that
-
is apropos because that is what they are. But it amazes me how many
-
times they actually they have a career in distraction. Ladies and gentlemen, let
-
me ask you this. Has anybody you've ever listened to, have you ever
-
heard of your body ask this question, what is the sin that leads to
-
death? The only reason why they ask you that is to distract you from
-
the other verses in that chapter. And none of you remember what chapter that
-
is? Do you? Some of you have the wherewithal to understand? That's
-
why Matthew mentioned first John chapter five. If you don't know what that says.
-
More importantly, if you don't know what's been removed from modern Bibles,
-
if you don't know about the Johannen Comma, they're stuck between verses seven and
-
eight. If you don't know that's been remove moved, you've had the wolf
-
who pulled over your eyes because the whole chapter, the whole chapter is about
-
the sin that leads to death. How many times have you heard that discussed?
-
You know? How many Christians know that they removed the Johann and Karma
-
from the Adida Regia. How many people you think know that, Jose,
-
I've never heard it come up, Matthew, Really, I would say not
-
very many. You've never heard it come up? No, Well, that's
-
kind of disturbing, because, well, you have at least recently read John
-
chapter five, right, yes, yes, And I take it that you
-
read it out of what the New American Standard d yes, the New American
-
Standard version. Yes, Matthew, really, so why don't you read me
-
what your New American Standard Bible says? Wait for me, verse seven,
-
Well, there are three that testify. What is that a joke? That's
-
it? That's all that's in this in this NASD Matthew, Oh really,
-
that's all that's there. Yep. Well I'll tell you what. I will
-
read it out of the revised Geneva translation, and you're probably gonna be in
-
for shock. Okay, just so you know this is what it really says.
-
Now, you do understand that your chapters and verses, that's where it
-
comes from, is from the Addal Regia manuscript, right, yes, okay,
-
just so you know that this is what it really says. For there
-
are three who bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and
-
the Holy Ghost, and these three are one. And there are three who
-
bear record on earth, the Spirit, the Water, and the Blood.
-
And these three agree in one. So you had a whole lot taken out
-
of there, didn't you. Yep, a whole lot. If you needed
-
a hint, you ain't got a clue, right, right? Have you
-
looked at this in the Hebreka. Have you looked at this in the Hebrew
-
New Testament? No, I haven't, Matthew, Just so you know,
-
yes, in Hebrew it has what I said, not what you said.
-
Amen, Just so you know that, just so you know what's a true
-
witness. Maybe you didn't understand what I said. Somebody who bears false witness
-
in court, they say that's perjury. Right, Yes, what I've read
-
is a true witness. Just so you know. Big difference. Now that's
-
probably unsettling to you, right, Jose, Because this ministry, it's the
-
main stay that we use for translation, is the New American Standard Bible nineteen
-
ninety five, right, right? Have I ever said it was the Bible,
-
God's Holy Word? No, Matthew, you matter of fact, you've
-
said that it's just like all English translations. It's trash. Amen. Amen,
-
that I have and that it is that I have, and that it
-
is. You know, you need to understand, ladies and gentlemen, why
-
this dynamic plays out. You have to understand that the bad shepherd to do
-
this for a reason. Why is it that they will not read to you
-
the contents of this chapter, and yet they'll ask you well, what do
-
you think the sin that leads to death is? I mean, ladies and
-
gentlemen, Jose, read for me the first verse of first John chapter five.
-
Please, I don't care what translation you used. Just read it.
-
Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ, is born of God, and whoever
-
loves the Father loved the child born of him. Any questions, Nope,
-
very plain, right there, very plain. This is the whole purpose of
-
the entire chapter. See it's the whole purpose of the entire chapter. My
-
goodness, Christian, this is echoing I mean, I'm just reading the first
-
stanza of the first couple standsas Matthew one John five, and it's echoing Revelation
-
twelve eleven what you read earlier, great man, saying the same thing as
-
is proper. Why don't you read it for us, Jose, the first
-
John five, the first couple of stanzas sure, all right, whoever believes
-
that Jesus is the Christ, is born of God, and whoever loves the
-
Father loves the child born of him. By this we know that we love
-
the children of God when we love God and observe his commandments. For this
-
is the love of God that we keep his commandments, and his commandments are
-
not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this
-
is the victory that has overcome the world our faith. Who is the one
-
who overcomes the world. But he who believes that Jesus is the Son of
-
God. This is the one who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ.
-
Not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood.
-
It is the spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.
-
And I'm gonna change translations for the next verse, Matthew. For there are
-
three who bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the
-
Holy Ghost. And these three are one. And there are three who bear
-
record on the earth, the Spirit, and the Water and the Blood.
-
And these three agree in one. If we receive the testimony of man,
-
the testimony of God is greater. For the testimony of God is this that
-
He has testified concerning his son. The one who believes in the Son of
-
God has a testimony in himself. The one who does not believe God has
-
made him a liar because he has not believed in the testimony that God has
-
given concerning his son. And the testimony is this that God has given us
-
eternal life, and this life is in his son. He who has the
-
Son has the life. He who does not have the Son of God does
-
not have the life. You know, it amazes me how people don't well,
-
they don't understand what's being talked about there. I mean, wherein did
-
God testify that this was his son? I mean, that blows me away.
-
If you don't know, well, I find that a little hard to
-
believe that you're a Christian. You don't know what's being talked about here here,
-
let me read it for you. After being baptized, Jesus come up
-
immediately from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened, and he
-
saw the spirit of God descending as a dove and lightning on him. And
-
behold a voice out of the heaven said, this is my beloved son,
-
in whom I'm well pleased. You're lies Nowhere is this event contested by the
-
ancient witnesses. It's never contested because there were too many witnesses. So the
-
Holy ghost descended on him as a dove, and the Father for witness by
-
saying, this is my beloved son and whom I'm well pleased. And it
-
bothers me if you don't it. It is bothersome to do this in a
-
classroom and have people just turned around. And when I say turned around,
-
I mean turned around, they'll ask you what is being talked about her?
-
This is this is a bunch of of of of gibberish. Really, you
-
know, I guess Jose that upbringing counts for a lot, doesn't it.
-
Yes, it does, Matthew. But today the clergy have so utterly failed
-
christ Church. We have this thing. I mean, just in Sunday school
-
I probably went over the baptism and everything that happened to the baptism. I
-
don't know from the time I was, let's say, in kindergarten to the
-
time I graduated high school, I know I'd heard it at least one hundred
-
times. How many times did you hear it? Now? Numerous times,
-
Matthew, Over and over it was reiterated. So you and I come from
-
a certain dynamic. Yes, right, you'd say that we come from the
-
same place. Amen, I mean we were trained up in the way we
-
should go. The problem is is that the clergy has put Christianity in crisis.
-
So most people are not being trained up in the way they should go,
-
so they don't know the foundation of their faith. What's the foundation of
-
their faith? I'm going to say this right now. If you don't know
-
what I'm talking about, you should be worried. What's the promise to Abraham?
-
Who killed Abel? Who is Boaz's wife, who was Abigail's first husband.
-
If you don't know how many fish was in the net, you haven't
-
been trained up in the way you should go. These are all elementary questions.
-
But here, as of late, I've been offhandedly orchestrating these questions to
-
come up with different people, and they don't know. It's the clergy,
-
and the clergy alone that has put Christianity in crisis, because it is in
-
crisis. I mean, Jose, I don't mean to hurt your feelings,
-
but I'm going to how many people can you have an intelligent conversation about the
-
Bible with where you're at? Boy, Matthew, I'm hesitating to come up
-
with a number here physically around me. Okay, then I can have a
-
discussion about it, but it's more of me speaking and teaching, not really
-
a discussion back and forth like we're happening right now. Matthew. No,
-
when's the last time it happened? Jose? When was the last time you
-
had an edifying conversation with somebody you was setting down with looking at them face
-
to face. When's the last time that happened? Not since me and Leonard
-
gathered together, Matthew. How long ago was that? It's it's been over
-
it's been over here when me when I met and met Leonard here when he
-
first moved to Phoenix, and we sat down and we opened our Bible,
-
that was the last time you're in crisis, Jose yep? Amen, I
-
mean as to the point it could fairly well be said that if you don't
-
discuss these things with your children, your children's not going to discuss these things,
-
correct, correct, Matthew yep. Well, that makes things very difficult,
-
doesn't it. It makes things very uncomfortable. That means when you get
-
together with other Christians that call themselves Christians, you don't talk about christ do
-
you know, Matthew? So you talk about you talk about you know,
-
I don't know baseball, apple pie and Chevrolet right right. And when I
-
speak with other Christians about what they're learning, they talk to me about m
-
saints and what the what the saints said about not even know what they said
-
about scripture, but just what they say about the Christian walk. And when
-
I try to bring it back to the Bible, I see confused looks on
-
people's faces. That's like you said, Matthew in crisis. Wow, what
-
do you say to that? What? What can I say that? There's
-
nothing I can say to that. I mean, unfortunately, we got what
-
at least a thousand miles between us, right right? You know, Jose,
-
what would you say if I invited you to my house? What would
-
you what would you be expecting? Would you be expecting from me to bring
-
up baseball? Nope? Would you let me bring up baseball? And no,
-
Matthew, I'd I'd open up my notebook and start going down my list
-
of verses that we need to talk about. You would badger me, right,
-
yes, Praise God, you badger me. I would have no hope
-
of ever getting one word in edgewise about hot dogs, about Chevrolet. You
-
said you'd bring your notepad with you. Yep, you'd have things to do.
-
You would actually come to my house with an agenda? Amen? Right,
-
yep? I bet that upsets people that I use that phraseology. But
-
your agenda would be the Kingdom of Heaven. Right, Amen, we'll praise
-
God. We'll praise God that you wouldn't even give me the opportunity to do
-
anything else, because that is God's agenda. You know, jose do you
-
know God don't care how much you make? Did you know that? Amen?
-
Amen? Did you know when he gets up, the last thing he's
-
going to do is ask you how much is in your retirement? Amen?
-
Do you know he don't care? Man? Did you know that when Jesus
-
gets back, he's not going to ask you for your pen number, He's
-
not going to ask you for your routing number. Did you know when Jesus
-
Christ gets back, he's not going to expect you to transfer all funds to
-
his account? Did you know that? Amen? Matthew, You know,
-
there's a lot of churches right now that I've had this conversation here several times
-
over the past month. These different churches are just they just wait till their
-
yearly financial meeting and they all just vote to roll over the CDs that they
-
put in last year. So I guess what they're thinking is that the Lord
-
Jesus Christ is going to show up and they're just going to transfer the funds
-
to his account. Oh, my goodness, ladies and gentlemen, you have
-
no idea, you have no idea. Who has been witched you? I
-
mean, surely you know that He cut the rich young ruler to the quick.
-
He got him to the quick. The rich young ruler said, oh,
-
I followed all the commandments my whole life. Jesus never debated with him.
-
Jesus never count him to know. You didn't. I know, I
-
know what you have done and what you have. That's not what Jesus said.
-
Jesus cut him to the quick. He said, sell all that you
-
have, give it to the poor, and come follow me. And the
-
rich man be damned. So you all need to be made aware of that
-
that Jesus don't give flying rip how much of money you make. He don't
-
care. I know what he cares about. And you all need to get
-
up to speed with what his agenda is. And when you get together,
-
the only thing that should you should not even allow the conversation to go left
-
or right. Who cares about baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet?
-
You should push the envelope. You should push the matter at hand.
-
You should be discussing about what God's agenda is, that's what you need to
-
be doing. And praise God that Jose admitted with his own mouth, he'd
-
bring his notebook with him. I would never have the chance to waste his
-
time in the name of the Lord is God. He would make sure that
-
he come to my table to discuss the agenda. What's God's going to do?
-
How are we going to deal with that? How are we going to
-
participate in that? I'm sorry if you've been entertained by the bad shepherds,
-
but that is what they do. And if you've listened to Jose and I
-
for any length of time, we've discussed that numerous times. That's actually what
-
they're professional at. They are professionals at distracting you and getting you to chase
-
your tell. And that's a fact. I mean, it's funny to me
-
that when we go to First Corinthians, chapter fifteen. It absolutely amazes me
-
that when I say that chapter, everybody immediately jumps headlong all the way down
-
to verse fifties. Yeah. I think that we were our shipherds are too
-
concerned with their doctrines, and we as Christians, as as the congregation,
-
also fall into that trap and trying to sort out whether this doctrine or that
-
doctrine is the right one, and criticizing other Christians if their doctrine is different
-
than ours. But like Matthew said, you miss you missed the first things.
-
When you do that, God's told us how we're supposed to act,
-
what it means to be a Christian, what it means to follow His commandments,
-
what it means to hold to the testimony of Jesus, what it means
-
to follow the beatitudes, what it means to care for others. What are
-
the fruits of the spirit. And by following those, it enables the Holy
-
Spirit to teach you. It enables him to be able to come into your
-
heart and show you what is to come, and cement the Gospel in your
-
heart, cement the scriptures in your heart, so that when you're having these
-
discussions with other Christians and they're saying things that aren't biblical, you can point
-
point them back to what God actually says. Point them back to that God
-
said that his son died, was buried, and was risen on the third
-
day. Point him back to how how Jesus said, we're supposed to act,
-
what it means to be a Christian because God repeats himself. God says
-
the same thing over and over. I mean, how many chapters do we
-
cover today that all say the same thing. And even as Matthew was speaking,
-
I was pulling up more verses that just reiterate what Matthew said, reiterate
-
what God said in One Corinthians fifteen, in First John chapter five, and
-
he just keeps saying the same thing over and over. But when you're trying
-
to fit it into your doctrine, you can either look at it and study
-
it, or you can just ignore it. So that's what's disturbing to me
-
as a Christian, as someone who is a Bible believer, as someone who
-
studies the Word of God. So that's what I'm hoping that people will take
-
the heart today. I hope they do too. I was going to do
-
it, and I'm going to do it. The most entertaining part my First
-
Corinthians chapter fifteen is this, go all the way down. Let's read fifty
-
one and fifty two. Behold, I tell you a mystery. We shall
-
not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in
-
the twinkling of a night, at the last trumpet for the trumpet shall blow,
-
and the debt shall be raised up incorruptible, and we all shall be
-
changed. Ladies and gentlemen. If you don't know the fifty verses before it,
-
you don't know the agenda. Because the agenda is clean, the agenda
-
is clear, and the agenda is widely repeated. It's repeated everywhere. Now
-
I may be wrong, but I'm here to tell you I wouldn't bet against
-
me when I say this, it's in every book of the Bible. I'll
-
qualify by what I said by saying this. Does anybody know that there's a
-
book in the Bible with a chapter for every book in the Bible? Did
-
you know that? Did you know there's sixty six books in the Bible and
-
only one book has sixty six chapters? Did you know that? Because if
-
you don't know that, it tells me you probably need a hint, which
-
means you ain't got a clue. Because when I say the agenda is highly
-
repeated, that's what I mean. And I thank the Lord my God that
-
jose would not give me the opportunity to stumble. He'd bring his notebook with
-
me with him, and he just badgered me. The whole time, because
-
by God iron sharp, it's Iron and me and Jose we're gonna live forever.
-
How about you? You all need to know there's a single thing that
-
matters when you get to the judgment seat. And I'm gonna read it for
-
you one more time. This is the Corinthian Creed. All scholars agree that
-
this was written, probably with at least within five years of the resurrection itself.
-
The verses five through eightive First Corinthians, Chapter fifteen. For first of
-
all, I delivered to you that which I received, how that Christ died
-
for our sins according to the scriptures, and that he was buried, and
-
that he rose on the third day according to the scriptures, and that he
-
was seen first by Coyphas, and then by the twelve. After that he
-
was seen by more than five hundred brothers, all at once, of whom
-
many remain to this time, and some also are asleep. After that,
-
it was seen by James, and then by all the apostles. And last
-
of all, he was seen also by me, as by one born at
-
the wrong time. I know most of you have your social Security numbers memorized,
-
most of you have your anniversary memorized. Many of you get in trouble
-
because you get all your different anniversaries confused because you've got three or four of
-
them. That's beside the point. Many of you have your spouse's birthdays memorized.
-
All of that is absolutely worthless information. Hose. I'm here to tell
-
you your Social Security number is worthless information. Okay, just so you know,
-
your routing number and your account number is worthless information. You need to
-
memorize, Jose, have your wife memorize it. You need to get a
-
dry erase board on refrigerator and write it on there. You need to get
-
posted notes and write it on it and stick it everywhere. First First Corinthians,
-
chapter fifteen, verses three through eight. Okay, yep, that's gonna
-
save your life. Amen, Please take us out of here in prayer,
-
Jose, dear heavenly Father, whom we love and serve, we give you
-
thanks continually for allowing us to gather to get while we still can. Lord,
-
I asked that what we discussed tonight be cemented it into the hearts of
-
the Ecclesia, that that gospel that you gave us about your son, about
-
his blood, about his resurrection, and what that afforded to us that after
-
our arrest, we may earn our reward in him, in You and in
-
your holy Spirit. Lord, and I asked that you allow us to spread
-
this gospel as you have commanded us to do, because you have promised that
-
in doing so, we will increase your kingdom. We will draw more to
-
your son. And you have promised that as we do this, as we
-
spread the gospel, that you will be faithful in that gospel, and you
-
will resurrect us at the time appointed so that we may be with your son
-
forever. Lord. And we ask all this and the name of your son,
-
our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen, Amen and Amen.
-
