-
Nigh. Welcome, Ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to the program. I am
-
your host, Matthew. Tonight, we're going to be starting at least a
-
two part series. Tonight is dissension the Son of God. Now, this
-
is a very important topic for you to study in the Bible for yourself.
-
You need to understand why the Bible says a certain number of things that it
-
does say. And I must prepare you for what is to come. And
-
there is coming a time that the Body of Christ is going to go through
-
the birth pains. You need to know that, you need to be aware
-
of it, and you need to most wholeheartedly prepare yourself for it. So
-
in lieu of that, we're going to be covering a whole lot of scripture
-
passages. But this is all about the dissension and ascension of Jesus. So
-
this part one is the dissension of the Son of God because it is most
-
emphatical in the New Testament in the Bible as a whole, that the Lord
-
Jesus Christ did not have his origins on this earth. You have to realize
-
that in this aspect when he comes down, this is why he repeatedly calls
-
himself the son of Man. You need to know why he does that.
-
He is taking on the mantra of Adam. Which this is the real purpose
-
that the Book of Hebrews facilitates. It translates the message to you that the
-
Lord Jesus Christ is the second atom. He is the son of Adam.
-
And you need to realize that in Hebrew that's the same word. The name
-
Adam also means man. So when Jesus was saying I am the son of
-
Man, he was saying, I'm the son of Adam. So let's take
-
a look at the most simple way to relay this, just with for simple
-
verses. If isn'ts Chapter four, verses seven through ten, very very short
-
passage, but yet it drives home the point as to what happened before is
-
the conception of the son of Man. It reads from the New American Standard
-
Bible nineteen ninety five. But to each one of us grace was given according
-
to the measure of Christ's gifts. Therefore, it says, when he ascended
-
on high, he led captive a host of captives, and he gave gifts
-
to men. Now this expression he ascended, what does it mean except that
-
he also descended into the lower parts of the earth. He who descended is
-
himself also he who ascended far above all the heavens, so that he might
-
fill all things. This is the Greek word from your Strongest Concordance v.
-
Five ninety seven, tada bino, tada bino, to descend. It's a
-
very important that you wrap your mind around this passage that only the Lord Jesus
-
Christ should do this very thing, come down from heaven all the way to
-
the lower parts, and then descend back up on his journey down. He
-
was the son of God, and we need to get this emphatically through our
-
heads. We must slatch upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ above all
-
and any other names. You need to know this now, just so you
-
know. This quote here in verse eight is from Psalms sixty eight to eighteen
-
from the New American Standard Bible. It reads us, such, you have
-
ascended on high, you have led captives, you're captives you have received gifts
-
among men, even among the rebellious. Also, that the Lord may dwell
-
there. Now you see that this is reading a little bit differently from Greek
-
to Hebrew, because the New Testament is quoting the Old Testament. In this
-
context. Here you need to understand that there's a big difference between the Hebrew
-
Testament and the Greek New Testament. I'm not going to get too far into
-
that, but as you can see, if you were to go to Psalm
-
sixty eight, verse eighteen and finish the verse, it gives you a rhyme
-
and reason to the mechination even among the rebellious. Also, that the Lord
-
God may dwell there. This verse is coming right out and saying that the
-
Lord Jesus Christ is God. That's what it's saying. It's saying that the
-
Lord God here in the Hebrew would be the Hebrew word. I don'ty keep
-
that in your back pocket, because later in this study, if not in
-
this pationicular study, later on in the series, we're going to come back
-
to that extremely hard. Because this part of Adam and I being incorporated into
-
the Lord Jesus Christ is of pair mount importance. It's of Pear Mountain importance
-
because the New Testament is coming out and telling you something. But if you
-
don't know your Hebraica and the Hebrew side of the equation of God's word,
-
it's not going to stick out to you. But believe me, put that
-
in your back pocket because it's very important. Now we need to realize that
-
this word kind of bino. It comes up repeatedly in John the sixth chapter.
-
And when I mean repeatedly, it comes up repeated this very phrase,
-
and it's of such extreme importance. We're going to have to read it now.
-
I don't have time to read the whole chapter, so we're going to
-
pick it up in verse twenty six. But take note, this is a
-
pair mount importance, this idea that Jesus's relating to us, and not only
-
that, the timing of the event. So taking a look at John the
-
sixth chapter, starting in verse twenty six through verse sixty five, Jesus answered
-
and said to them, truly, truly, I say to you, you
-
seek me not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves
-
and were filled. Do not work for the food which perishes, but for
-
the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give
-
you, for on him the Father God has set his seal. Therefore they
-
said to him, what God we do so that we may work the works
-
of God. Jesus said to them, this is the work of God that
-
you believe in him who he has sent. So they said to him,
-
what then do you do for a sign so that we may see and believe
-
you? What work do you perform? Our fathers ate the manner and the
-
wilderness. As it is written, He gave them bread out of heaven to
-
eat. Jesus said to them, truly, truly, I say to you,
-
it is not Moses who has given you bread out of heaven, but
-
it is my Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven. For
-
the bread of God is that which comes down. Here you go had a
-
bino right there out of heaven and gives life to the world. Then they
-
said to him, Lord, always give us this bread. Jesus said to
-
them, I am the bread of life. He who comes to me when
-
I'm hungry, and he who believes in me will never thirst. But I
-
say to you that you have seen me, and yet you do not believe
-
all that the Father gives me will come to me. And the one who
-
comes to me, I will certainly not cast out, for I have come
-
down from heaven. Here had a bino. Jesus directly says, I have
-
come down from heaven not to do my own will, but the will of
-
him who sent me. This is the will of him who sent me.
-
I lose nothing but raise it up on the last day. For this is
-
the will of my father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in
-
him will have eternal life, and I myself will raise him up on the
-
last day. Breaking right here, this is Jesus Christ emphatically saying that you
-
are going to be raised up. If you wish to call that rapture,
-
you can call that rapture. This is going to happen on the last day.
-
This tells you for certain that there is no partial imaginary return of Christ.
-
There's only the second coming of Christ. That's all you're looking at.
-
Here and here he emphatically lays that information to you, continuing on with verse
-
forty one. Therefore, the Jews were grumbling about him because he said I
-
am the bread that came down out of heaven. They were saying, is
-
not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know.
-
How does he now say I have come down out of head. Jesus
-
answered and said to them, do not grumble among yourselves. No one can
-
come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will
-
raise him up on the last day. It is written in the prophet and
-
they shall be talked of God. Anyone who has heard and learned from the
-
Father comes to me. Not that anyone has seen the Father, except the
-
one who is from God. He has seen the Father truly. Truly,
-
I say to you, he who believes has eternal life. I am the
-
bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they
-
died. This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, so that
-
one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that
-
came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will
-
live forever. And the bread also, which I will give for the life
-
of the world, is my flesh. Then the Jews began to argue with
-
one another, saying, how can this man give us his flesh to eat.
-
So Jesus said to them, truly, truly, I say to you.
-
Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood,
-
you will have no life in yourselves. He who eats my flesh and
-
drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the
-
last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true
-
drink. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me and
-
die in him. As the Living Father sent me, and I live because
-
of the Father. So he who eats me, he also will live because
-
of me. This is the bread which come down out of heaven. Not
-
as the fathers ate and died. He eats this bread will live forever.
-
These things he said in the Synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. Therefore,
-
many of his disciples, when they heard this, said, this is
-
a difficult statement. Who can listen to it? But Jesus, conscious that
-
his disciples grumbled at this, said to them, does this cause you to
-
stumble? What? Then, if you see the Son of Man ascending to
-
where he was before. It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh
-
prophets nothing. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and our
-
life. But there are some of you who do not believe. For Jesus
-
knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who it
-
was that would betray him. And he was saying, for this reason,
-
I have said to you that no one can come to me unless it has
-
been granted to him from the Father. There can mean no doubt what is
-
being referenced here. And of course this is why Jesus incorporates into this discussion
-
with his disciples, the simple fact that well, what if you see me
-
ascend into heaven? What then? And of course they would do this very
-
thing. He was trying to tell them that he is the one that comes
-
down out of heaven, and these very difficult sayings that he did. And
-
of course this would have challenged anybody. This would have challenged anybody, because
-
they quite simply didn't understand what he was saying. That literally, Jesus Christ
-
came to sacrifice his own body for our sins, and if you do not
-
partake in that, you have no life in you. This exact diatribe is
-
exactly what happened in Matthew chapter twenty six, Verses twenty six through twenty nine,
-
when this happens you need to understand that boy, this must have really
-
sunk in to his disciples. They would have immediately remembered these events and this
-
schism that occurred in his believers, because the Gospel was very clear this teaching
-
that Jesus gave created a schism. But in Matthew chapter twenty six he explains
-
it to its fullest. While they were eating, Jesus took some bread,
-
and after a blessing, he broke it and gave it to the disciples and
-
said, tke eat, this is my body. And when he had taken
-
a cup and give thanks, he gave it to them, saying, drink
-
from it, all of you, for this is my blood of the Covenant,
-
which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. But I say
-
to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now
-
until the day when I drink it new with you in my father's kingdom.
-
The Lord Jesus Christ makes it known at this time what he's talking about.
-
In institutes, of course, communion. Most churches in the West take communion
-
at least once a month. They usually do it at the first Sunday of
-
the month. They'll all take communion. So it's very important that you understand
-
that Jesus was telling them They should have known immediately. They should have known
-
me that whatever was going to follow, Jesus had already referenced that. Look,
-
what are you going to do if you see the Son of Man ascending
-
back to where he was? Now? You can just imagine the disciples here
-
really had no idea that they were literally going to see John chapter six,
-
verse sixty two come to pass. What if then you see the Son of
-
Man ascending to where he was before, and literally this very thing happened,
-
And now you know the importance of getting this through your head. That Jesus
-
Christ alone would come down from heaven and did so, and only he could
-
go back up. This, of course, also ties into the simple fact
-
not the Lord Jesus Christ in the New Testament is loudly depicted as being Jacob's
-
latter that that can do it through which angels descend and uscend to heaven.
-
The Lord Jesus Christ alone can facilitate this mechanism. But we need to take
-
a look at something really important here that you need to know what Jesus is
-
referencing here and when he says this. He says something very strange about this
-
covenant. He says this covenant verse twenty eight of Matthew chapter twenty six.
-
For this is is my blood of the covenant, which has poured out for
-
many for the forgiveness of sins. You need to know what prophecy the Lord
-
Jesus Christ is referring to. That is, of course, in Zachariah chapter
-
nine, the second half of the chapter. It comes up in the prophecy
-
of deliverance for Judah and Ephrium. Now let's take a minute to discuss why
-
it's saying Judah and Ephrium. You must realize you need to go back to
-
the prophecy of the two sticks. Please take note, one stick is Judah
-
and one stick is Joseph. What were Joseph's two sons, Ephriam and Manassa.
-
Prophetically, here you need to understand that using this phraseology, God is
-
saying that the twelve tribes will come back together when all of the tribes are
-
president accounted for. It does not represent Judah. That's only half of it.
-
That's only half of the promises. When it says Judah and Joseph or
-
either of his sons, it usually says ephriumast say Joseph, or Ephrium.
-
It's talking about the entire children of Israel, not the children of Judah.
-
And today in the West people seem to have uh breen Well, they've been
-
judaized. These Judaizers have entered christ Church and has bewitched the Church of the
-
Lord Jesus Christ into believing that for some horizon reason, that all of us
-
Christian that you're going to become Jews. We're going to enter the single tribe
-
of Judah. Nowhere not Romans chapters ninth through eleven, is very clear.
-
The other tribes don't join the tribe of Judah. No, no, No,
-
Judah is joined to the rest of those who have taken covenant in the
-
blood of Christ, and we all become the children of Israel. We all
-
become Israel. That's what is undeniable and undebatable in the New Testament. There's
-
no separating that fact. So you need to understand why this is using this
-
phraseology. So starting here in verse eleven, as for you, also,
-
because of the blood of My covenant with you, I have set your prisoners
-
free from the waterless pit. Return to the strongholds, Oh prisoners who have
-
the hope. This very day, I'm declaring that I will restore double to
-
you. For I will bend Judah as my bow, and I will fill
-
the bow with Ephriam. And I will stir up your son's o Zion against
-
your son's, Oh Greece, and I will make you like a warrior sword.
-
Then the Lord will appear over them, and his arrow will go forth
-
like lightning, And the Lord God will blow thee trumpet and will march in
-
the storm winds of the south. The Lord of Host will defend them.
-
They will devour and trample on the slingstones, and they will drink and be
-
boisterous as with wine, and they will be filled like a sacrificial basin,
-
drinks like the corner of the altar. And the Lord there God will save
-
in that day as the flock of his people, For they are the stones
-
of a crown sparkling in his hand. For what comeliness and beauty will be
-
theirs. Grain will make the young men flourish, and new wine the virgins.
-
This is the promise. This is the covenant of blood which Jesus Christ
-
is referred to. He is quoting from here, and I'm sure that as
-
I read that, you could tie that in with many scriptures that I've talked
-
about before, many of these same prophecies, many of these same prophecies.
-
You'll take note that in other prophetic chapter God says that he's going to inscribe
-
you on his hand. That's exactly what he said. Here he repeated it
-
a difference way. But amazingly enough, this was literally talking about the same
-
thing, the same thing, the same promises. And here you need to
-
understand, this is why he said Judah and Ephraim. Ephraim is the crown
-
of Joseph. But yes, here prophetically he could have said either one,
-
either Joseph or Ephraim. And take note this ties once again into the Lord
-
Jesus Christ. That is to say, in Hebrew, not oh Ni.
-
You need to know that's important. Put it in your back pocket because we
-
will talk about that later. So we firmly established that the Lord Jesus Christ
-
has repeatedly stated with his own mouth that he came down from heaven had a
-
bino. That's what he said he was going to do. That's what he
-
did do. And now you understand this machination, and it's he alone that
-
could do that so on his dissension he proved himself all the way to the
-
cross he was the son of God. Now this is tied in magnificently and
-
is spoken about, and we can drive this home and Acts chapter two,
-
verses twenty nine through thirty six. This is the perfect way to relay this
-
information. It quite simply cannot be done better any other way. So,
-
starting in Acts chapter two, verse twenty nine, brethren, I may confidently
-
say to you regarding the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried,
-
and his tomb is with us to this day. And so, because
-
he was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath
-
to seat one of his descendants on his throne, he looked ahead and spoke
-
of the resurrection of the Christ. That he was neither abandoned to hades,
-
nor did his flesh suffer decay. This Jesus God raised up again, to
-
which we are all witnesses. Therefore, having been exalted to the right hand
-
of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit,
-
he is poured forth this which you both see and hear. For it
-
was not David who ascended into heaven. But he himself says, the Lord
-
said to my Lord, said up my right hand, until I make your
-
enemies a footstool at your feet. Therefore, let all the house of Israel
-
know for shirking that God has made him both Lord and Christ. This Jesus
-
whom you crucified. So, ladies and gentlemen, this makes it perfectly clear
-
beyond any contestation. This right here is eyewitness accounts for one which has never
-
been debated for two thousand years. Everybody at the event horizon of his ascension
-
knew this was telling the truth. This is why, of course, the
-
scripture says that he presented himself to five hundred witnesses. This is why Christianity
-
is proof unfallible, to be the only way to God the Father. It
-
is not a religion. It is the truth. Christianity is the truth.
-
It was proven to be the truth by eyewitness accounts of many people, many
-
people. That is what this scripture is talking about. And take note that
-
there's some key things said here that this drives this home. It literally drives
-
this mechanism home. Now take note, starting with verse twenty nine, he
-
says, brother, brethren, I confidently say to you regarding the patriarch David,
-
that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us
-
to this day. How do we know this? How do we know what
-
they were talking about was the truth? How do you know that the the
-
promises were not referencing David himself? First Kings chapter two, verse ten.
-
Then David slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of David Namiah
-
chapter three, verse sixteen. After him, Niemiah, the son of Aspac,
-
official of the house of the district of beth Zur, made repairs as
-
far as the point opposite the tombs of David, and as far as the
-
artificial pool and the house of the Mighty Men. These scriptures state emphatically that
-
David did, in fact die, was buried, and everybody knew where his
-
tomb was verse thirty. And so because he was a prophet, he knew
-
that God had sworn to him with an oath to set one of his descendants
-
on his throne. How can we know this? Emphatically? Psalms one thirty
-
two, verse eleven. Though Lord has sworn to David a truth from which
-
he will not turn back of the fruit of your body, I will set
-
upon your throne, no denying it. So they knew at the time Acts
-
was written, they knew these things to be the fact that all these promises
-
had not been fulfilled by David. Let's go to tewod Samuel chapter seven,
-
verses twelve through twenty nine. This is the Lord talking to David. When
-
your days are complete and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise
-
up your descendant after you, who will come forth from you, and I
-
will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for my name, and
-
I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be a father
-
to him, and he will be a son to me. When he commits
-
iniquity, I will correct him with the rod of men and the strokes of
-
the sons of men. But my loving kindness shall not depart from him so
-
as to take it away from before you. Your house and your kingdom shall
-
endure before me forever. Your throne shall be established forever, in accordance with
-
all these words and all this vision. So Nathan spoke to David verse eighteen.
-
Then David the King went in and sat before the Lord and said,
-
who am I, O, Lord God? And what is my house that
-
you have brought me thus far? And yet this was insignificant in your eyes,
-
O Lord God. For you have spoken also of the house of your
-
servant concerning the distance future, and this is the custom of man, O
-
Lord God. Again, what more can David say to you? For you
-
know your servant, O Lord God. For the sake of your word,
-
and according to your own heart, you have done all this greatness to let
-
your servant know. For this reason, you are great, O Lord God.
-
For there is none like you, and there is no god besides you,
-
according to that we have heard with our ears. And what one nation
-
on earth is like your people Israel, whom God went to redeem for himself
-
as a people, and to make a great name for himself, and to
-
do great thing for you, and awesome things for your land before your people,
-
whom you have redeemed for yourself from Egypt, from the nations and their
-
gods. For you have established for yourself your people Israel as your own people
-
forever, and you, O Lord, have become their God. Now.
-
Therefore, O Lord God, the word that you have spoken concerning your servant
-
and his house, confirm it forever, and do as you have spoken that
-
your name may be magnified forever by saying, the Lord of Host is God
-
over Israel. And may the house of your servant, David be established before
-
you. For you, O Lord of Host, the God of Israel,
-
have made the revelation to your servant, saying I will build you a house.
-
Therefore, your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to you.
-
Now, O Lord God, you are God and your words are truth,
-
and you have promised this good thing to your servant. Now, therefore,
-
may it please you to bless the house of your servant. Then it may
-
continue forever before you. For you, O Lord God, have spoken,
-
and with your blessing, may the house of your servant be blessed forever.
-
Take note, ladies and gentlemen, you are that house. You are Israel.
-
And here God said it specifically to David and laid it out John and
-
Siddel exactly what was going to happen. And you will take note that not
-
only was David speaking in past tense, he was also speaking future tints.
-
If you were listening, he said that in verse twenty three he implemented two
-
different things. Listen to it again carefully, and what one nation on the
-
earth is like your people, Israel, whom God went to redeem for himself
-
as a people, and to make a name for himself, and to do
-
a great thing for you, and awesome things for your land before your people,
-
whom you have redeemed for yourself. From Egypt. Then he adds the
-
future from nations and their gods. Now take note, ladies and gentlemen.
-
He mentioned Egypt here first as the first event, and then he mentions,
-
that's right, ladies and gentlemen, this second exodus. He mentions that you
-
will be gathered together again. David himself knew this. He literally prophesied this
-
event to happen. It is key that you understand what it is that's being
-
relayed here. It is of pair amount importance that you understanding at this strake
-
that it is through the Lord Jesus Christ alone that he has established these things
-
there there. Look, this is of paramount importance. It's I cannot stress
-
it enough that this simple fact you must under You must understand this that on
-
the dissent Christ proved himself to be the son of God. There's there's just
-
no taking this back. Let's get back to verse thirty six. There's other
-
reasons why Christ is quoting from this prophecy about Judah, and you need to
-
understand the mechanician in place. If you do your research and study into the
-
Hebrew side of the equation, that is to say, the Ibrahics of the
-
Messiah, you will come to this conclusion. Especially if you ever talk to
-
a rabbi, they will be quickly able to tell you that there are two
-
Messiahs. There is the Messiah son of David and the Messiah son of a
-
son of Joseph. You need to understand once again what was David. Yes,
-
he was of the tribe of Judah. You need to understand that these
-
two mechanicis is coming together to the point here in Acts chapter two, verse
-
thirty six. But you're not getting it in the English. If you're not
-
familiar with the Hybraics of the matter, please consult the Hebraica, which is
-
the Delich New Testament combined with the Masoretic Old Testament. Take note, he
-
says, therefore, let all the house of Israel, now take note.
-
I just read it for you. This house of Israel, the children of
-
Israel, is great from the scriptures. I just read to you no first
-
certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ. This Jesus whom you
-
crucified. Why is he saying Lord in Christ? What is this in the
-
Hebraica? This, of course in the Hebraica, is I deny the word
-
for Lord and mushiak the word for Messiah. Here he's point blank telling the
-
Jews who crucified the Lord Jesus and then he resurrected. He is both.
-
He is both I don't and mushiak. He is both Lord and Christ.
-
This is the dynamic at play here. You need to understand. This is
-
the dynamic at play the house of Israel. Is is it combining of Judah
-
or David to Joseph or Ephraim. The language is interchangeable, and these verses
-
have screened that at the top of their lungs. Now Hey, note that
-
here acts in the previous verse and verse thirty five. It quotes from Stalm's
-
ten verse one. It says, the Lord said to my Lord, set
-
up my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool of for your feet.
-
Absolutely astonishing. I wish we had the time to read this whole psalm.
-
But take note this cruise beyond any shadow of a doubt. This was
-
not talking about David, because the scripture loudly declares, Look, we can
-
go to the tomb of David right now and prove that God was not making
-
direct references to David himself. And in this the Lord Jesus Christ alone that
-
has been made both don't know and machiak that's that's it, just the Lord
-
Jesus Christ alone. Now, there are so many verses here that we could
-
we could cross reference. How could we know? How could we know that
-
he wasn't talking about David because David was not resurrected. Let's go look at
-
verse thirty one from Acts chapter two. He looked ahead and spoke of the
-
resurrection of the Christ, that he was neither abandoned to haites, nor did
-
his flesh suffer decay. He's quoting from Psalm sixteen to ten. For you
-
will not abandon my soul to show, nor will you allow your Holy one
-
to undergo decay. This Jesus God raised up, which we are all witnesses.
-
There's no debating this. These are eyewitness accounts. This proves there is
-
the dissension of Jesus Christ. He was from heaven and descended. In the
-
Greek at a bino, he alone descended, and he alone could ascend,
-
of which this was eyewitnessed. This was eyewitnessed. Now you have to realize
-
that the amount of scripture being quoted here, it's impossible for us to go
-
through in one setting. It's impossible. I mean one of the cross references
-
for verse thirty, which reads and so because he was a prophet and knew
-
that God had sworn to him with an oath to see his sence on the
-
throne. Literally, I could set here and read Psawm eighty nine because this
-
whole entire psalm is about that very promise made to David. I mean verse
-
three of that psalm. I have made a covenant with my chosen. I
-
have sworn to David, my servant. So take note, this is talking
-
about two different individuals. You want it to be all about David, but
-
it's not. It says I have made a covenant with my chosen, the
-
Lord Jesus. Christ is directly quoting this about the blood of my covenant.
-
Jesus is the chosen. David was his servant. So that's why verse three
-
of Psawm eighty nine is there. It's clearly DIFFERENTI you, so that you
-
understand these things could have only been fulfilled by the Lord Jesus Christ and not
-
David. Now, there are many different scriptures that we could consult right now
-
about the dissension in particular, but I think that we have covered enough so
-
that you can get this down concretely, that it's the Lord Jesus Christ alone
-
that came down from heaven. He descended, and when he did, he
-
was the Son of God and the only way to the Father is through the
-
Son. He repeatedly said that, sometimes using very harsh words, that his
-
own followers could not listen to it. The scripts you plainly said that that
-
they couldn't hear it. They had trouble hearing it. Well, we can't
-
eat your flegg Well, if you don't consume my flesh, you cannot live.
-
Who would have been able to understand this at the time, Who would
-
have been able to deduct what was to come? But Jesus, sitting right
-
there with them, prophesied, well, what happens if you see me ascend
-
back to where I was, of which they did witness him ascending to heaven
-
into the clouds. You have to reach that point that the disciples were at,
-
and you need to be at that point where you're literally standing there staring
-
up into the sky, watching and waiting for his return. Thinking to yourself,
-
he told us this very thing, that it was through him and him
-
alone that we would have access to the Father. You're literally going to have
-
to come to this law moment that the disciples had watching him ascended the heaven,
-
just like he said he was going to do. You can just imagine
-
what was going through disciples mind as they were looking up. They had been
-
there. They heard him say that I am the Bread of lies. You
-
have to eat my flesh and drink my blood or you cannot live. They
-
went on to the Last Supper, still didn't understand. They literally watched him
-
be crucified. Then they watched him not only raise from the dead, they
-
watched him raise into heaven itself. They watched him ascend. You need to
-
get to that point before you enter the birth pains, that you're looking into
-
the heavens, watching and waiting for him to return. That needs to be
-
more important to you than your life. The Book of Revelation says something very
-
disturbing. I have talked about it many times, and it really is disturbing
-
what is stated there in Revelation chapter twelve, verse eleven. And they have
-
conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.
-
And they did not love their life even when faced with death. How
-
does the KJV put it. The KJV says, and they loved not their
-
lives unto the death. How about the English standard version? Or they loved
-
not their lives even unto death. What does that mean? Ladies, gentlemen,
-
do you know what that means. Let me give you a scenario.
-
Let's you and I say that we're well into the birth pains to the point
-
where their serious shortage of food, and somebody comes to you and say,
-
hey, you can come stay with me. You can come out to my
-
place. I've got six hundred sections, not acres, six hundred sections.
-
I have six hundred head of cattle. You can come out and stay with
-
me. I'll feed you. When the Lord Jesus Christ told you over and
-
over and over again that he alone can save you. But yet when this
-
time comes, I don't care if this person that's saying, hey, you
-
can come out and stay with me, I'll feed you. I'll take care
-
with you. No, you're going to have to respond to them. I
-
don't care if I starve to death or not, because my afterlife is going
-
to be better than my life. I would rather enter into my rest.
-
I would rather enter into the promises, ither enter into Abraham's bosom. Is
-
what I'm saying to you, shocking you, ladies and gentlemen. You've been
-
warned not to go into the inner rooms, not go out into the wilderness,
-
not go here, not go there. You can't love your death more
-
than your life. All of you are sitting here thinking that's too hard to
-
accept. That's exactly what the followers of Jesus said, right. I read
-
it to you, right from John chapter six. Maybe I should go back
-
there and reach some of that again, I'm not lying to you. I
-
read it to you, and you all certainly did hear it. I've read
-
it, you all listened. So let's simp down to verse sixty of John
-
chapter six. Therefore, many of his disciples, when they heard this,
-
said, this is a difficult statement. Who can listen to it? But
-
Jesus, conscious that his disciples grumbled at this, said to them, did
-
this cause you to stumble, What then, if you see the Son of
-
Men ascending to where he was before? Is this too difficult a statement for
-
you too, so that you can't listen to it. They love not their
-
lives unto death, Ladies and gentlemen. If you are a Christian, if
-
you have been born again into the body of Christ, Ladies and gentlemen,
-
your death is going to be better than your life. You should love your
-
reward more than your waiting. Because let me remind you again when I just
-
said a few minutes ago, you need to get to that point where you're
-
looking up into the heavens just like the disciples were that day. You need
-
to be watching and waiting for him to keep his promise and return, just
-
as the disciples saw him leave. You need to be watching and waiting for
-
him to return. Is that too difficult for you to hear? Let me
-
read that again. This time we'll read it out of the Thompson translation.
-
But they have conquered him by the blood of the lamb and by the word
-
of their testimony, and have not spared to expose their life even to death.
-
Boy, that says it a whole lot differently, don't it, Ladies
-
and gentlemen, you can't love your life more than your reward you're going to
-
receive in the afterlife. Let me ask you something, ladies and gentlemen.
-
When the Disciples were standing there looking up, if the angels had not crashed
-
their party, do you think they would have stayed there looking until they would
-
have started to death? Do you think anything outside an angel straight from heaven
-
would have stopped them from standing there waiting for Christ to return? And I'm
-
here to tell you you need to get to that place where the reward you're
-
going to receive in the afterlife is greater than your desire for the life you're
-
currently waiting to be over. You cannot love your life to death. You
-
have to have greater love for the reward you will receive in the afterlife,
-
because if not, you have no hope of going through the birth pains.
-
You have no hope. Please look over these chapters. Please try reading the
-
Bible as if you believe it. Read it as if it is God's word.
-
Read it and treat it like you do an encyclopedia. When you pick
-
up an encyclopedia and flip it open to an article and start reading, do
-
you doubt what you're saying. Do you doubt what you're reading when you quote
-
from the encyclopedia, when you tell somebody about it, when you quote from
-
it, are you confident? Why aren't you ten times more confident about what
-
the Bible, which is God's only word, says. Why is it that
-
when you pick up a dictionary and look up a word in the dictionary,
-
you absolutely and without question, wholeheartedly believe every single syllable it says. Ladies
-
and gentlemen, do you know when the first dictionary was written? Because it
-
was thousands of years after the Bible, God's holy word. Now you know
-
that the Bible is the most attested document period. There's no other document that
-
even comes remotely close. We can reconstruct just a New Testament just from quotes.
-
We can do the same thing with the Old Testament, utilizing all the
-
quotes that all the rabbis over the vast thousands of years have quoted from the
-
Bible. You can reconstruct the Bible God's holy words just from quotes from external
-
sources. Ladies and gentlemen, the Lord Jesus Christ is more attested with documentation
-
and archaeology than Caesar himself. There is Scantonough resources that you could almost say
-
that Caesar was really a myth, just like Romulus and Remus is a myth.
-
Because Romulus and Remus two twins that were raised by a female wolf.
-
That's a myth. Ladies and gentlemen, I'm telling you the truth. The
-
Lord Jesus Christ is the most attested person in history. I'm gonna read this
-
verse one more time. You need to believe with all your heart that the
-
Lord Jesus Christ alone was the son of God, and he is the only
-
one that performed the dissension. He and he alone is the son of God.
-
I'm going to read it to you one more time in hopes that you
-
will consider your future actions based off this love your life or the reward the
-
fruits of your labor is going to produce, Ladies and gentlemen. I I
-
appreciate the Bible says that most will live to seventy and eighty if by strength
-
your reward will have no end. How in your right mind could you calculate
-
that this seventy perhaps eighty years is more important to you than eternity, living
-
eternally with your Lord and your God. How could you possibly reasonable make it
-
reasonable in your mind that the life is worth more than the reward Revelation,
-
Chapter twelve, verse eleven. And they overcame him because of the blood of
-
the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony. And they did not
-
love their life even when faced with death. The Lord Jesus Christ alone is
-
the son of God, and he proved that with his dissension, he alone
-
descended from heaven. The Bible, God's Holy Word plainly states that please try
-
to try to convince yourself that your afterlife reward is by far more important than
-
your live. Do you not know now? Have you not heard that to
-
be absent from the body is to be with Christ. Try to convince yourself.
-
