Do you know the Bible is God's Holy Word? Do you know it is
-
inspired, in errant, and infallible? If so, like, share,
-
subscribe and support this podcast. So we are Maranatha Ministries and now Reduction Draweth
-
Nigh. Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to the program. We are
-
your host, Mariah and Matthew. Tonight we're going to start a special series
-
on the Fundamentals, a Testimony to the Truth. This is a series of
-
essays, and this is where the term comes from a fundamentalist, this is
-
where it comes from. This was a series of essays written and they were
-
compiled by R. A. Cory. So you can get the Wikipedia on
-
this. Just look up the Fundamentals and you will run right square into it.
-
So this is all Maria's idea. So why don't you describe how we
-
got to this point. Well, I was puilling out an application for a
-
Bible camp and they were asking me a lot of questions about what I believe
-
and why, and it was very thorough questions. They were like, what
-
do you believe happens when you sin? What do you believe in the Trinity?
-
And all these things? And then they would have me give a list
-
of scripture evidence to prove why I believe these things. And so I was
-
studying my Bible looking for all the best scripture to fill out this, and
-
I was reading mostly in like Matthew and John and the Apostles, and I
-
was I realized that a lot of the the pillars of what we believe as
-
Christians can be found not only in the four Apostles, but written or said
-
directly by Jesus. And I just thought that was the coolest thing. And
-
so when Dad asked me what he wanted to do a series on, I
-
said, hey, why don't we do Why don't we do the pillars of
-
Christianity? And I just thought that would be so cool. So that's where
-
it came from. And it's at that point that I informed her that,
-
well, you're talking about the fundamentals of Christianity. So we ordered this book
-
from ore A toy Uh. It is a compilation of all the essays compiled
-
into one volume, and it's pretty massive, say Mariah, yes, it
-
is well worth the money. I strongly suggest everybody get it. As a
-
minor fact, I might start putting this into care packages for people, but
-
it's not too small A print and let me see how many pages it is
-
year It's about four hundred and fifty pages, so very thorough. But it's
-
done by different authors. And these were a series of essays that were that
-
was originally constructed and produced and published to combat liberalism, of course, because
-
liberalism is not there's no such thing as liberal Christianity. There never was.
-
There is the Bible, and that is the whole truth and nothing but the
-
truth. And these liberals have completely systematically tore it down and they have everybody
-
believing that it is not inspired, it is not in errant, and it
-
is not infallible. Yes it is, Yes it is. So the first
-
thing on our list on this itinerary is the virgin birth of Christ. This
-
all begins with the miraculous conception. Yeah, so give me your speel on
-
it. What's your thoughts? So basically, when when I first started studying
-
this, I was like, how like how important can it be? You
-
know? And then I started reading these articles and I started really studying it,
-
and I was like, Wow, this is a lot more important to
-
our belief than I originally thought that it was. Let me actually read this
-
part in this article. It's on page two hundred and two, it says
-
the virgin hold on my statement publicly made in printed has never been confuted that
-
those who accept a full doctrine of incarnation, that is the true entrance of
-
the eternal Son of God into our nature and for the purposes of man's salvation,
-
with hardly an exception except with it the doctrine of the virgin birth of
-
Christ, while those who reputate or deny this article of faith either hold a
-
lowered view of Christ's person or more commonly, reject his supernatural claims altogether.
-
Right, So this is the foundation. This is where they start. If
-
you're going to undermine the Lord Jesus Christ, this is where you're going to
-
start. He was not miraculously conceived. Now, if you're a preacher saying
-
that, you're obviously antichrist, correct, I mean, this is the baseline
-
truth. If you say Jesus Christ was not miraculously conceived by the Holy Spirit,
-
that is Antichrist. You're Antichrist. That's literally what you are, what
-
you're saying, what you're preaching, and you've only facilitated going to seminary getting
-
a theological degree to destroy the church systematically from within. That's that's what you're
-
doing if you're doing this now. You and I talked a little bit earlier
-
that you came to the realization that that. And I like how you warned
-
it, because you worded it in a very unique way, that this is
-
akin to the Unpardonable sin. Yes, now you came up with that all
-
on your own. That's not for me, and that's not from this book.
-
So reiterate your thoughts on that. So, I don't know what bookmarked.
-
Could you remind me of the verse the and vernleson. I know it's
-
a Matthew the Unpardonable Sin Matthew, Chapter twelve, verse thirty through thirty two.
-
He who is not with me is against me, and he who does
-
not gather with me scatters. Therefore, I say to you, any sign
-
and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be
-
forgiven. Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be
-
forgiven him. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be
-
forgiven him, either in this age or in the age two come. And
-
So I thought about this while I was reading in Luke and Matthew the Birth
-
of Christ and in John, the first chapter in John, and so the
-
first chapter in John was talking about the Trinity, and that really interested me.
-
And then I went to read in Luke the Conception of Mary and Gabriel
-
right talks about how Mary was overshadowed by the Holy Spirit, and the Bible
-
literally states very specifically that the virgin birth happened. So if you don't believe
-
in the virgin birth, you just don't believe in the Bible. So basically,
-
the virgin birth happened through the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ was born in
-
Virgin Mary through the Holy Spirit. So I guess what I'm trying to say
-
is if you disrespect the Holy Spirit, you disrespect Christ, and you disrespect
-
the Trinity. You yeah that that's now in those passages you read, Jesus
-
said you can blaspheme against me or and then he said the son of Man,
-
but the last being what the Holy Spirit has done. That's a part.
-
Now we have to understand this is directly coming from Matthew chapter one,
-
verse eighteen. It says it here. It says, now, the birth
-
of Jesus Christ was as follows. After his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph
-
before they came together, she was found to be with child of the Holy
-
Spirit. To deny the miraculous conception of Christ is to deny the Holy Spirit's
-
power thereof This is exactly what, of course, you mentioned it that Gabriel
-
says this in Luke the first chapter, verse thirty five of Luke chapter one.
-
The Angel answered and said to her, the Holy Spirit will come upon
-
you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you. Therefore, also
-
the Holy One who is to be born will be ca called the Son of
-
God. So in both instances you have Matthew writing it, and here you
-
have Gabriel saying it. The miraculous conception was of the Holy Spirit. It
-
was not Joseph and Mary consummating the marriage. This conception did not come about
-
that way. This conception came about through the Holy Spirit. So if you
-
pull this lynch pin out of the Lord Jesus Christ, he is no longer
-
Lord, nor is he Christ or Messiah. To disrespect the Holy Spirit is
-
to disrespect the very core of what Christ is. That's right, yes,
-
yes. And another thing is, if we look at the facts here,
-
if you deny the virgin birth of Jesus, you are denying the Bible.
-
You are directly denying what the Bible. Yes, And I was thinking about
-
this earlier. I was like, if God can create? First of all,
-
listening about this, God created every living creature that is alive, right,
-
And we don't even really know how babies are made. I mean,
-
we know, we know what happens between a man and a woman, but
-
we don't know what what happens physically to cause that egg to grow and grow
-
and grow and to know exactly what to do to become a human and then
-
to perceive the breath of Christ. So if God can create miracles every single
-
day of creating babies and giving them the breath of life, don't you think
-
that he could? Don't you think that he could create the Son of Man
-
without any help from anybody? Well? It absolutely, absolutely, and undeniably,
-
absolutely and undeniably, And you have to realize that's why the Bible tells
-
you that you know, God niche you together in your mother's womb. Now,
-
I mean, we could spend a lot of time on that as far
-
as genetic goes and the genetic structure, the double helix and all that kind
-
of stuff, But that's truly not necessary because we're all here and it's a
-
mitter effect. That creation itself is a testament that there is a creator.
-
There must be, because every mathematician knows this. That the odds are past
-
the point of probability. There is no way this randomly happened. There's no
-
way, and we can we can also prove this with death. This is
-
the best perfect way to do it because the moment that you die, everything
-
is there. You need to live. All the chemicals are there, your
-
body's still warm, you have food in your digestive tract. They've never been
-
able to come to grips with this that they don't know what doesn't It's not
-
electricity. You can take a cadaver and shock it all you want, all
-
you want to the fact of the matter is the only reasonable conclusion you can
-
come to is that it is in fact what the Bible says, and you
-
must have God's breath of life, and it says from his own nostrils.
-
If you don't have that, you don't live. This being the case,
-
not only must he creates you, he must animate you with the breath from
-
him, his own nostril. So this is a this is a double fail
-
save. So God doesn't need your help creating anything, especially not his son.
-
And so have another thing here that I highlighted and I wrote notes on.
-
The ordinary Christian is a witness here in reading the Gospel, he feels
-
no incongruity in passing from the narratives of the vision of birth to the wonderful
-
story story of Christ's life and the chapters that follow, then from those to
-
the pictures of Christ's divine dignity given in John and Paul. The whole is
-
of one piece. The virgin birth is as natural as the beginning of life
-
of such an one, the divine son, as the resurrection is at the
-
end. And the more closely the matter is considered, the stronger does the
-
impression grow. It is only when the scriptural conception of Christ is parted with
-
the various difficulties and doubts come in. So basically, what this is saying
-
is, you're not gonna believe in the virgin birth if you don't believe in
-
Christ. That's right, a Christian. Let's go back to the childlike faith.
-
A Christian who has the childlike faith is going to read the Bible and
-
believe it. They don't need scientific proof. First of all, the second
-
of all, if you if you start needing that scientific proof, let's just
-
read that last sentence again. It is only when the scriptural conception of Christ
-
is parted with that various difficulties and doubts come in, including and not limited
-
to the virgin birth of Christ, right right, And that puts it right
-
square on the head. And he said something interesting, He said, the
-
virgin birth is as important as the miraculous resurrection. Yeah, how can you
-
believe in the miraculous resurrection of Christ and not in the miraculous birth? You
-
can't. Yeah, You're you're undermining yourself because if he was annoyed, you
-
understand once you say this, you have to understand what you're really saying.
-
If you take away the miraculous conception, you're saying that Jesus was just a
-
man. And you're saying that he did not resurrect himself. You're saying that
-
God the Father had to resurrect him. Okay, it undermines the Lord Jesus
-
Christ did not need anybody to resurrect him. He resurrected himself. And if
-
you if you were to say that Jesus was God and deny the miraculous birth
-
of Christ. That would be worse. That would be worse because now you're
-
disrespecting the Holy Spirit, and that is the unpardonable sin. So that's that's
-
a pretty interesting how you this was all your thought process, not my thought.
-
Prop says you got to that in a pretty clear and concise way.
-
That No, the Bible clearly states that the Holy Spirit conceived in Mary.
-
It was the Holy Spirit that conceived the child, not the consummation of her
-
marriage to Joseph. It plainly said these things systematically. It said, now
-
we also have to remember some some very important things here. Let's go back
-
to the turn of the calendar. Right. You know this that the Lord
-
Jesus Christ cracked time itself. Now these god haters have changed it. When
-
I was in school, it was it was it was BC and A D.
-
Those things meant before Christ and after his dominion. Okay, now they've
-
changed it into Christ. No, he didn't do that. Now it's now
-
it's it's CE and B C ear whatever. Joan, let's go back there.
-
When we go back there, you were betrothed for one year. Did
-
you know this? Everybody knows this all historians know this. You can go
-
to all the rabbinical sources and they will lay it out, plain and simple.
-
You were betrothed for one year. Okay, these verses, even though
-
they didn't tell you how long, it was very clear that after Mary was
-
betrothed to Joseph. Okay, let let me read verse eighteen of Matthew Chapter
-
one again. Now, the birth of Jesus Christ was as followed after his
-
mother. Mary was betrothed to Joseph before they came together. So sometime while
-
they were engaged, she was found to be with child of the Holy Spirit.
-
Do you understand, Yes, this engagement time, you were considered still
-
married. And more importantly, you have to realize that you were treated as
-
if you were married. If if one of the members of this union were
-
to die. Do you understand that? So during this time, this betrothal
-
time, if Joseph would have died, it would wouldn't have mattered. Mary
-
would have been allotted the inheritance according to being his wife. Do you understand
-
what I'm saying? No one will doubt this child. This is a matter
-
of fact. There are thousands of sources that prove this. Okay, So
-
this is when this happened. This is key, critical important. You realized
-
that this is when it happened, that this interim time, that the Holy
-
Spirit came to her, and it was the Holy Spirit that conceived the Christ.
-
This was a miraculous conception. And let's make that clear. It was
-
miraculous conception. Yes, it was a miraculous conception, of which there are
-
many in the Bible, but this one is different. There are many times
-
of miraculous conception, one being Hannah, right, but that was not the
-
Holy Spirit. The Bible was very clear that God answered her prayer and in
-
due course with her husband, they conceived. She and her husband conceived.
-
That conception was not of the Holy Spirit. It used none of the language
-
that you find in Matthew chapter one, verse eighteen. And of course we
-
even have a Ruth another miraculous conception. She had been married right to a
-
man from Moab. They'd been married from quite some time, and she never
-
had a child. However, her and Boaz conceived correct. So there's many
-
instances of those where God steps in and allows them to conceive. But no,
-
that's not what this is saying. This is the Holy Spirit, this
-
is the Son of God. Yes, this is the child, This is
-
the prodigy of God, the Father through the Holy Spirit. Yes, that's
-
what this is, and both. I didn't even when I was little.
-
I didn't even ever consider the fact that anyone would believe anything different. Besides
-
the miraculous conception. It's literally part of the Christmas story. Every child knows
-
about the miraculous conception. That's right, everybody knows. That's why. That's
-
why these God haters that infiltrate the Church as liberals, they call themselves liberals,
-
they seek to destroy this very thing because you're right, child, because
-
no one can take this from a Christian child. Everybody knows the Christmas story,
-
right, I mean you literally had it hammered down, right. I
-
used to. We had late twenty different Nativity scenes and we played with all
-
of them as kids, without our own Christmas stories all the time, right,
-
because you were allowed to play with the nativities. I mean, I
-
was raised in such a way by such loving Christian parents that by the time
-
I was eight, Right, But as soon as I can remember Christian,
-
the Christian belief was fact. There was no question about it. Of Course,
-
the Christmas story happened. Of course, Jesus was born of the Virgin
-
Mary. Of course God is real. He's my savior, and he proved
-
that a trillion times. Who else raised the dick? Okay? Who else
-
brought Lazarus back to life? Okay? Who else made the land to walk?
-
Who else could make a child born blind? See? This reminds me
-
of a verse I was reading earlier, and I'm I don't know if I
-
could find it again to do that highlighted or anything. But it's a verse
-
where Jesus is talking about anything that the father does, the son does,
-
and of himself. The father doesn't do it for the son. The son
-
does what the father does, right, But it's not the father doing it.
-
It's not it's not the exactly, it's not that. That's what I
-
said earlier. Jesus didn't need God to resurrect him. Jesus proved himself to
-
be God the Son when he resurrected himself. I wish I could find that
-
verse again. I didn't highlight it or anything. I know it's in here.
-
It's in here somewhere in there. So you know you were raised,
-
you were trained up in the way you should go. Now you said about
-
eight that's incorrect. You were systematically trained. By the time you were nine,
-
nothing could be taken from you. You already knew everything. Yeah,
-
so even before I was nine, I'd say, by this, well as
-
as young as I could remember, right, I mean immediately when I was
-
introduced to the idea of evolution, I lacked at it. Literally the first
-
time anyone ever told me about the idea of evolution, I was like,
-
so those people are idiots, right, that is a joke. Yeah,
-
because because your thought process could not be undermined. Because look, and the
-
idiot knows this, lightning striking a mud puddle does not produce a toad,
-
only only an idiot. Once you that's why I encourage you. I've always
-
encouraged you to investigate science, investigate how it works, why it works.
-
You come to these all conclusions because look, it doesn't take a rocket scientist
-
to figure out that. Okay, let's say we evolved. Now, the
-
problem is is that two had to evolve at the same place, at the
-
same time in the exact same way. That is not mathematically probable. Period,
-
It's not mathematically probable. It did not happen. Yeah, and you've
-
you've talked about this a lot, like what happens when immutin is born.
-
They die, They die, and let's systematically investigate that. Okay, we
-
can prove here, right here, right now, that God created your rya.
-
It doesn't take a rocket scientist. Okay, can you live without your
-
lungs? Okay, So what you're saying is is that your lungs cannot survive
-
without your kidneys. So the only way for you to have been born alive
-
was all these systems. Your respiratory system, your skeletal system, all these
-
systems would have had to been in place from the very beginning. This goes
-
to include your reproductive system, because your reproduction, reproductive system, it's dependent
-
on all other systems, the nervous system, the cardiovasculation. I could go
-
on and on and on. There's no way your kidney's evolved without your lungs.
-
There's quite simply no way. It's impossible. This is why anyone of
-
any intelligence when they start investigating this, when people say we evolved, they
-
begin to laugh. It's a farce, it's a joke. Only an idiot
-
would believe that, literally, only an idiot. Ye. So if God
-
can create us, he shares anything can create his son, right, exactly
-
exactly, and that was a blessing that Mary was chosen to be the capsule
-
of this son, the Son of God. That that's right, and we
-
need to talk about this. So you realize the next step from this where
-
other people go. They take another step. They say, well, if
-
that's true, we have to believe in the immaculate conception. You know what
-
the emmaculate conception is. Don't you that Mary was without sin from her birth?
-
Yeah? Who alone was without sin? Jesus? Okay, so you
-
just elevated her to a divinity if you say that Mary was involved in an
-
immaculate conception. So this is another way the liberals do it. They'll take
-
the truth and add to it. So this is another way you can spot
-
these liberal god haters. They cannot give themselves up. They come at it
-
from different ways. Some of them will try to take away from the scripture,
-
some will try to add to it. And I think right now is
-
a pretty good time that we just read these two stories. You know,
-
we just read these two portions of scripture. It's Matthew chapter one, eighteen
-
threugh of twenty four and Luke one eighteen thirty six. So I'll read one
-
and you give your comments on it. Okay, I'm already in Luke,
-
all right, Matthew, all right, Matthew. Chapter one, verses eighteen
-
through twenty four. Now, the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows.
-
After his mother Mary was patrolled to Joseph, before they came together, she
-
was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph, her husband,
-
being a just man and not wanting to make her a public example, was
-
minded to put her away secretly. But while he thought about these things,
-
behold, an Angel of the Lord appeared to him at a dream, saying,
-
son of David, do not be afraid to take to you, marry
-
your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
-
And she will bring forth a son, and you shall call his name
-
Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins. So all this
-
was done that it might fulfill which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet,
-
saying, behold, the Virgin shall be with child and bear's son,
-
and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which translated God with us. Then
-
Joseph, being aroused from sleep dead as the Angel of the Lord commanded him,
-
and took to him, his wife, your thoughts. Well, so
-
all this was done that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken by the
-
Lord through the prophet, saying, behold, the version shall be with child
-
and bear as soon, and they shall call his name Emmanuel. I find
-
it interesting that, or well, I shouldn't say I find it interesting because
-
it's the Bible, is the word of God. But I like how it
-
brings in the scripture from the Fourth and New Testament, because part of the
-
time we've been talking about this, I've been wondering, how do you convince
-
a Jewish person of the miraculous birth of Christ. Well, this would be
-
the best way to do it. To go to their Bible, which they
-
call that the tonokh, that's the Old Testament. They call it the Tanakh,
-
and prove it to them be of the prophets. And that's exactly what's
-
being done here in Yeah, I mean, that is the way to do
-
it. The the apostles who wrote or well, through the divine intervention of
-
the Holy Spirit, of course, wrote these books, Luke and Matthew and
-
John. It was the Holy Spirit that wrote them. Yes, they are
-
inspired. These were written at a point in time where everybody was Jewish.
-
Right, all all the Christians at that time were Jewish. And these books
-
are the perfect way to convince a Jewish person of Christianity because it's it's all
-
there. I mean, everyone was Jewish at the time. They it's been
-
prepared for the Jewish. That's right. The New Testament, the apostles are
-
what what what flips it? Right? What answers its equations? Eighty eight?
-
Right, it is the It is the Lord Jesus Christ that answers all
-
the equations from the Old Testament. Oh, it is literally the culmination of
-
prophecy itself. So you know, and I hope that you caught it.
-
That there. It said it twice. Also in verse twenty, the Angel
-
said that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. So twice
-
in that portion, God rams at home. Yeah, He's like, just
-
in case you were wondering, just in case there's heretics in your pulpits,
-
this is the child of the Holy Spirit. Do not be afraid. I
-
mean I did I forget his name for a second. Joseph, That's what
-
Joseph was afraid of. He was afraid that the baby Jesus was conceived of
-
another man, right, and this angel steps in and said, no,
-
this baby was Knocrins. You done, man, This baby is a miraculous
-
birth. It's the product of the Holy Spirit. That's right. Now.
-
Can I ask you something, Oh, do you think it's important that that
-
this is Gabriel. Gabriel sits at the throne of God. Well er stands
-
in the thrown room of God. Well, this is very important that you
-
realize that Gabriel is put into play for a very specific reason, because Gabriel
-
is the one that delivered the prophecies to Daniel. He's in both Daniel eight
-
sixteen and Bote and in Daniel nine, chapter twenty one. So immediately when
-
this angel said I'm Gabriel, this immediately dawn on Joseph. You mean you're
-
the one that is going to facilitate fulfilling all these prophecies in Daniel. So
-
it literally triggered to a Jew, it triggered massive events here. This is
-
why he didn't argue with the angel. He just kind of absorbed what was
-
happening, realizing that, oh, my goodness, these people were reading the
-
Old Testament, right, they knew Daniel intimately, Joseph knew exactly which Gabriel
-
he was talking to and ging just talking about Gabriel doesn't joke around, right,
-
Gabriel means business. So so this is, you know, what a
-
perfect what a perfect set of verses. And it's amazing. How if you
-
pull this out, if you extract this out from the narrative, Salvation itself
-
collapses. I mean, I'm just thinking about this. How as a kid,
-
as a child, how would you have explained Christianity to me? Without
-
the birth of Christ? How would I have ever understood it? You wouldn't
-
because Mariah, you intimately knew where you came from. You knew you were
-
born as a baby, and you knew that you were not yet an adult.
-
You knew that you were just a big baby. You had grown into
-
childhood. This is the lynchpin in your mind. Child. You must,
-
you absolutely must train up a child in this very way. This is why
-
this was ambered home to you and you don't even remember its event horizon,
-
because as a child, you had to be introduced to the gospel in the
-
child narrative, in the miraculous conception of the Lord Jesus Christ. I mean,
-
Christmas. Christmas story is how I got to know Jesus. Yes,
-
yes, it's like literally someone decided to say, Mariah, once upon a
-
time there was this, Yes, this baby born named Jesus, and he
-
was going to be the savior of the world. And he's your savior and
-
your best friend. I mean, do you remember my favorite book when I
-
was learning how to read? What do you remember it? It was that
-
Christmas story book and it had the little one tactile pages. It was made
-
out of cardboard and the shiny pieces in it. Oh yeah, yeah,
-
yeah, that's the book that made me learn how to read. I read
-
that all year. I'd open it up and i'd bring to mommy. I'd
-
be like, read this book to me again. That was Well, that's
-
how you have to do it with a child, because this is why the
-
Salvation story begins at the miraculous conception. If you look, you can't go
-
up to a five year old and start explaining to them Moses went up on
-
a mountain and God struck the rock with lightning, and this is the Ten
-
commandments. This is what you need to know. You're that child is not
-
going to be connected to that reality though I have no idea what you're talking
-
about. For example, Okay. For example, how would a child be
-
ever able to conceptualize lightning striking a rock and riding on a rock. They
-
don't understand that. What does a child understand it? A child understands a
-
child's life. Once a time, upon a time, you had a best
-
friend, and this is how the story starts. Well, exact amundo,
-
child, and you realize there's so many things like this that no one can
-
take from you. I mean literally speaking, if I was to come up
-
to you and start asking you questions and undermining the virgin birth of Christ,
-
you would literally laugh at that. I would. I'd probably look at them
-
like they were crazy. I mean, I've had some pretty I've had some
-
pretty weird conversations with people I've told you about some of them. I'd give
-
them a look. I mean, I probably maybe wouldn't laugh at them,
-
but i'd certainly, you know, if I wasn't trying to talk them out
-
of it, i'd definitely just walk away, right, you would have to
-
walk away. But yeah, I mean, Jesus has been and I know
-
this is this is a very streamline thing to say that. You know,
-
I've been a Christian since I was just a little kid. And that's not
-
really a testimony, but I really have been. Jesus has been my friend
-
since I was a baby. Right, Jesus has known me since I was
-
a baby. I grew up with him. The Holy Spirit builled our household.
-
When I was a child, I knew Jesus, right. I mean
-
I used to. I used to walk outside and I just feel like daddy.
-
It's Jesus smiling at me from heaven whenever I saw a cloud. Well,
-
child, most people, when I can't call you child anymore, can
-
I congratulated? So you just Mariah. You have to realize that most people
-
were not trained up. You were trained in the Lord. And it wasn't
-
just being taught a bunch of lessons. I was given a gift. I
-
wasn't just lectured about all these things. I have to know when I was
-
a baby, I was given the gift of the promise. That's right,
-
that's right, that's right. And you have to admit there is nothing special
-
that you were taught from your from your siblings. Correct. You were all
-
trained in the way you should go. Yep. It all starts with the
-
virgin birth of Mary. And that is why disrespect of the Holy Spirit is
-
the unpartnerable sin. It all starts with the virgin birth of Jesus Christ.
-
All right, let's go to Luke chapter one, verses twenty six through thirty
-
six. I have you want to read it? Okay, start in verse
-
hearing marrid this now, in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent
-
by God to the city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to
-
a man whose name was Joseph of the household of David. The virgin's name
-
was Mary, and having come in, the Angel said to her, rejoice,
-
highly favored one, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among
-
women. But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying and
-
considered what manner of greeting this was. Then the Angel said to her,
-
do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
-
And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a son,
-
and shall call his name Jesus. He will be great, and he will
-
be called the Son of the Highest, and the Lord God will give him
-
the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of
-
Jacob forever and of his kingdom, there will be no end. Then Mary
-
said to the Angel, how can this be? Since I do not know
-
a man? And the Angel answered and said to her, the Holy Spirit
-
will come upon you, and the power of the highest will overshadow you.
-
Therefore, also the Holy One who is to be born will be called Son
-
of God. Now, indeed, Elizabeth, your relative, has also conceived
-
a son at her old age, and this is now the sixth month for
-
her who was called Barren. So we have it worded in a different way.
-
We have more information. There's more details here separate than Matthew. But
-
this is absolutely a witness one and to the other. This is where it
-
begins. This is where salvation begins. This is it right here. And
-
if you do not drill this home, if you do not preach this from
-
the rooftops, you are doing a huge disfavor to the children, for their
-
faith will be undermined by those who hate them. Just make no mistakes.
-
Rules hate them, they hate children, They hate God. So well,
-
we should say that about all the rules. Because some people just call themselves
-
the pools. They're not exactly the kind of people they Well, if they
-
only call themselves a liberal, that makes them a liar. I know where
-
liars go. Do you know where liars go? Yes? So it's not
-
wise immense words with somebody like me. It's just not so. You know,
-
Having looked over this, I take it to you that this was just
-
refreshing reading out of the fundamentals. It just basically reinforced what you already knew.
-
Right, Well, it did give me some more pointers, and they
-
got through a little bit of it, though, Well, give us some
-
more pointers out of it. What else did you? I mean, I
-
see you've got several things out one one of was the coolest thing, one
-
of the coolest things that I saw that I underlined was basically I haven't written
-
down on my notes, but I'm gonna try to find the exact quote.
-
Okay, I'm just gonna read it from my notes. Then the virgin birth
-
is as important as the miraculous resurrection. It is in this way we believe
-
that without accepting the birth of Christ, we cannot accept him as being God
-
at all. Furthermore, the childlike faith of the real believer is that which
-
compels us to read the whole Bible and believe every part of it. That's
-
right, If do you believe in the miraculous resurrection of God. You believe
-
in the miraculous posion of God, and you're not a Christian. If you
-
do not believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, you're not a Christian.
-
You're not saved. You are defeating your own purpose because the only reason,
-
the only way you are saved is through His resurrection. I mean, if
-
you don't believe in the miraculous worth of Christ, in my opinion, you're
-
not a Christian. And you're not that the end is just as important as
-
the beginning, if not more, they're equal. It's an equation. It's
-
simple mathematics. So was this encouraging to you? Yes, So you know,
-
what would you say to to the person who's, you know, investigating
-
these things, what would you suggest that they do. I would suggest that
-
they read Luke and Matthew and John and Mark, and not just the beginning.
-
I think they should read through the whole thing, the whole life of
-
Christ. If you are wondering about the miraculous birth of Christ and the importance
-
of the birth of Christ and the pinnacle of the life of the world,
-
the height of our history is the life of Christ. If you are having
-
questions about that. You need to read the whole story. You need to
-
read the entire Gospels. Matthew Mark looking John you, that is a very
-
safe thing to say. You are correct. I mean, who do you
-
know that knows the Bible more than me? No? Do you know anybody
-
that's even remotely close to nothing? You know, I don't know anybody who
-
is even remotely close to doing as much of anything. So what I'm saying
-
is very important because I know that you know that I know so much.
-
I mean that gives weight to what I said. You need to read the
-
four Gospels and digest that before you go any further. And if you're afraid
-
of doing it, if you're afraid you won't be able to do it and
-
read the whole thing, just pray. I mean, how many times does
-
the Bible say that if you ask God, he will give himself to you.
-
And I've done it before too. I've had trouble connecting with God so
-
many times in my life, and I just, in all honesty from my
-
own experience, in my own Christian walk with God, just ask and He
-
will reveal it to you. He will give you that need to read.
-
Just whatever you need to. He's going to open himself up to you,
-
just like a book he did, you know. I mean, this reminds
-
me of the sermon on Sunday, right that the pastor, well, I
-
mean, let's just call him proper right. I mean, I was raised
-
calling people brother and sister so properly. If I was going to show him
-
the proper respect, even though he don't know it, I would call him
-
brother Sherwood And his sermon was about Asa and Second Chronicles, chapter fifteen,
-
verse fifteen really sticks you in the eye. And all of Judah rejoiced over
-
the oath where they had sworn with all their heart and had sought him with
-
their whole desire, and he was found by them, and the Lord gave
-
them rest all around. I mean, the whole sermon last Sunday was if
-
you seek God, you will find him. You will find him, that's
-
right, And you'll find him because he wants to be found. She wants
-
to give you that opportunity. The first thing that he's gonna answer you,
-
the first thing he's going to give you is the promise that he already gave
-
you. That's right, he already gave you that promise. I mean,
-
you're one of as soon as as you ask that prayer, you're already one
-
of the stars in the sky. You're already one of the grains of sand.
-
That's right, That is exactly right. That is and you know this
-
is no more true. Let's go to the beginning of that chapter. Second
-
Chronicles, chapter fifteen to first two verses. The spirit of God came upon
-
as a riot, the son of Obit, and he went out to meet
-
Asa and said to him, hear me, Asa, and all of Judah
-
and Benjamin. The Lord is with you while you are with him. If
-
you seek him, he will be found by you. But if you forsake
-
him, he will forsake you. There is no more truer statement than that
-
God is walking with you if you want to walk with him. Child,
-
I mean, look at all the many things you've seen me do. Let's
-
just say, mathematically with the Bible, it's not possible, is it.
-
It's not possible. I mean I've had many people tell me that there's no
-
way you could see that. There's no way there's no way you could see
-
that. I'm telling you, I have told you. And now that you're
-
an adult, now you know it's true. If you walk with God,
-
he will walk with you. And if you reject him, make no mistakes,
-
you will be rejected by Him. And it's that simple. So don't
-
don't be afraid to learn these things. You know, if you have questions
-
about it, I mean, yeah, it's good to have somebody right there
-
with you to help you. But you don't need someone to help you.
-
You don't need us. If you have more questions, you don't need Matthew
-
Miller. You can. You don't open the Bible for yourself, and don't
-
be afraid to ask for that blessing. That's right because God expects you to
-
have a childlike faith. You don't need all the technical information, even though
-
I can give you a lot of it, right, you don't need it.
-
You just don't need it. I mean, I could sit here and
-
give you a higher discourse at a core level. I could explain to you
-
how conception occurs, but that doesn't cut it here, child, because this
-
child was not conceived by a mechanical process. The Lord Jesus Christ was conceived
-
by a spiritual process. And just read it and believe. I mean,
-
we were just talking about it when I was but I grew up believing.
-
Reading the Bible isn't hard for me. But as long as you just read
-
it and believe it, you're gonna have no trouble knowing it's true. I
-
mean, let me read that again. The whole is of one piece.
-
The virgin birth is as natural at the beginning of the life of such a
-
one the divine son, as the resurrection is the end. Christian is a
-
witness here in reading the Gospel. He feels no incongruity in passing from the
-
narratives of the virgin birth to the wonderful story of Christ's life in the chapters
-
that follow, because you won't have any problem. You'll be like, yeah,
-
that happened. It will be just like reading a story, like reading
-
a history book, even though it's shocked the disciples themselves, right, yeah,
-
I mean you once you got to that story and Jesus rebukes the wind
-
and the disciples start freaking out, they're like, well, who is this
-
that even the winds and the waves they obey him. You weren't shocked,
-
were you? No, even though the disciples were shocked, Because better to
-
believe without seeing than one who has seen and believes, And so literally,
-
you have it better than the disciples, you know the end, from the
-
beginning, they did not, but do. And I am more excited than
-
anything to see Jesus one day. You know. Do you want me to
-
tell you a secret? Hm, there is a favorite person that I have
-
in the Bible. Guess who did that's one of the disciples. Nope?
-
Is it Jesus? Nope? Jesus is my favorite person in the Bible.
-
Nope? Is it? I don't know. There's so many people. Come
-
on, you can't I mean, okay, let's go back to the birth
-
name. Off the people in his birth, the three Disciples, Joseph mary
-
Ezekiel. Is that his name? The a guy who gave birth to John
-
or John's dad and mom, and the shepherds and Herod and and then there's
-
John. And then I named all the people. Well, there is one
-
called Simeon. And they brought Jesus to the temple to dedicate him. And
-
the Lord had promised him that he would not die before he's seen Jesus.
-
And guess what God granted it to him. He is my hero because I
-
have the same request. Before I die, I want to see Jesus.
-
Stampede across creation and set these God haters straight. I want to see it
-
with my own eyes. I want to be one of the ones that are
-
alive and remain when he punches through our upper atmosphere. I want to be
-
like Simon. Anyway, now you know the biggest secret of all to my
-
memory, I don't think I've told anybody that ever. Anyway, I do
-
remember that story though, Right, Okay, why don't you pray us out
-
of here? Why don't you pray it's out of here? Because I'm telling
-
you tube well, I'm spoiled, and I'm telling you do Jesus, thank
-
you for this day, and thank you for everything that you've given to us.
-
I pray that you would open our eyes to new miracles every day,
-
miracles in your word and in your Bible. That we can learn more about
-
you, and that we can just have our eyes opened to your unending love
-
and all of your blessings. And I pray that each and every one of
-
us would be able to learn from you from now to the end of our
-
days. And I pray that you would be with each and every one of
-
us in spirit, and that you would just give us blessings. Amen,
-
aymen, and Amen, and until next time, ladies and gentlemen, God
-
bless God's being. Thank you for listening to Marinath the Ministries with Matthew Miller.
