  1. Please and turn to first timothy chapter 6

    1 Timothy 6 chapter mention

  2. if you haven't it. And I know most

  3. of you are there.

  4. But what a powerful book we've been in.

  5. I can't believe we are you know,

  6. over halfway through this book by the time

  7. we get through this message

  8. because we will end with verse 11. Lord

  9. willing.

  10. There's 20 verses in this book. And we

  11. looked at 9 and 10 a little bit

  12. recently last couple of weeks, but I wanna

  13. take a little bit deeper look at 9

  14. and 10 and and really... Because these are

  15. strong warnings,

  16. and we read in first Timothy 6 as

  17. Paul instruct Timothy, who a young pastor

  18. on how to

  19. basically

  20. guide the church

  21. to teach the church to disciple

  22. the new converts and older converts and help

  23. them become Christ.

  24. And Timothy is amazing because

  25. you're getting an insight the letter to the

  26. apostle,

  27. to Timothy

  28. and what he's to instruct. And we learned

  29. so much from that as to how where

  30. to be the church and howard would to

  31. be as Christians.

  32. Because there's personal instructions to Timothy as to

  33. how he is to be a man of

  34. God. But he he's to replicate what's being

  35. taught to him personally

  36. in the life of the believers, and he's

  37. supposed to second Timothy 2 2,

  38. commit these teachings to others and there commit

  39. them to others and still others, and that's

  40. how the church grows. It also instruct how

  41. the church is what's supposed to look like

  42. regard to elders and dea and government and

  43. so forth.

  44. But here he's giving a very, very solemn

  45. warning,

  46. and he's warning about those who turn god

  47. or turn

  48. God this, in a means to, as a

  49. means to financial gain. We talked about that.

  50. We've done I've done some extensive teaching against

  51. the

  52. word faith gospel, the prosperity movement. The money

  53. grabbing preacher who are always talking about. Give

  54. give give to me and then God make

  55. you rich and these guys get super rich

  56. and then comes all about money.

  57. And we're not gonna be discussing that so

  58. much today. We've discussed that quite a bit

  59. and we hammer on that off and on

  60. because that's

  61. such a prevalent false gospel that's out there.

  62. But he gives this instruction to Timothy in

  63. verse 9, but those who want to get

  64. rich

  65. Doesn't say

  66. as as for the rich, you know, that

  67. all the rich

  68. are doomed.

  69. Otherwise, brother Rich would be in big trouble

  70. over here. Get to see, Rich for always

  71. from Idaho.

  72. But we're calling to be rich in God.

  73. Jesus talked about being rich in the Lord.

  74. Amen.

  75. And

  76. when the bible speaks of Riches,

  77. sometimes there's just very strong declarations harder for

  78. a rich man. Jesus said,

  79. get to heaven then it is for candle

  80. to get through the I have a needle.

  81. And then the disciples was like, well, how

  82. can anybody be saved then and

  83. and he said, you know, what's impossible with

  84. man possible with God.

  85. And, of course, Joseph Air,

  86. who was a rich man who lent Jesus

  87. his garden tomb

  88. for 3 days and 3 nights,

  89. was a rich man. Nico dim was probably

  90. pretty rich, we believe. Job, Abraham, these were

  91. rich men

  92. they possessed riches, but Riches did not wet.

  93. Possess them,

  94. that is after they came to know the

  95. Lord.

  96. Abraham, of course, and

  97. Job probably became quite enriched when they knew

  98. the Lord, but their pursuit

  99. the pursuit was not riches.

  100. The pursuit was a Lord.

  101. So if you're pursuing the Lord and you're

  102. seeking him and you're living for his glory,

  103. and the lord bless you

  104. financially.

  105. You know, just don't let those riches possess

  106. you. And he goes on to say later,

  107. which we're not gonna really get into

  108. to tonight because we're gonna stop at verse

  109. 11, but it's gonna talk about instructions to

  110. those who are rich in the church. How

  111. they're supposed to use their wealth to bless

  112. others. And how God has given us all

  113. things to enjoy.

  114. So just as the scriptures warn that we're

  115. not supposed to look a scant look down

  116. upon those who are poor, James chapter 2.

    James 2 chapter mention

  117. The scriptures are also clear that we're supposed

  118. to make sure that we love all people,

  119. amen.

  120. And we also don't wanna be en and

  121. jealous of those who, you know,

  122. you know, come to church on a in

  123. a l jet, you know,

  124. not that anybody does, but we need to...

  125. But at the same time, God instruct those

  126. folks

  127. who have money to make sure they're living

  128. for him. And they're not living to get

  129. rich and be rich.

  130. So it's... But so it's important because look

  131. at the warnings he gives those. And these

  132. are... This warnings is pretty heavy. This is

  133. for those who want to get rich.

  134. Man heavy that that are like, and I'm

  135. not talking about, man you're like, you know,

  136. wow, Lord, I'd I'd like to Can you

  137. give me another job so I can pay

  138. my bills, you know? And so I can,

  139. you know, bless my children with he, maybe

  140. send them the college or something like that?

  141. I'm not talking about that. We're talking about

  142. where money becomes your God. It becomes the

  143. main thing. It becomes your pursuit

  144. above and over god.

  145. And by the way, money shouldn't even be

  146. a close second to the Lord amen.

  147. The Lord should be first. But look what

  148. he says, but those who want to get

  149. rich

  150. fall into temptation

  151. and a snare

  152. and many, not some

  153. not a few many

  154. foolish and harmful desires,

  155. which plunge men into ruin

  156. and

  157. destruction

  158. I mean, he just builds the the case

  159. of, you know, of how

  160. destructive

  161. living for riches is and And if you

  162. think, whoa, you know, yeah, You've been over

  163. these first a little bit and why don't

  164. we move on? Because this is such an

  165. important topic.

  166. Because when I first dealt with, I wanna

  167. do with the word Faith teach teaching the

  168. hell, the whole false gospel built around this,

  169. that that this scripture just destroys. So it

  170. talks about those who believe that god means

  171. they will have financial gain,

  172. and he calls them corrupt men false teachers.

  173. So we had to deal with that. But

  174. we also need to make sure when we

  175. leave this scripture that we are have a

  176. strong, resolve within our hearts not to live

  177. for money.

  178. Because so many people are in such trouble.

  179. And look at what happens. They end up

  180. in ruin and destruction verse 10.

  181. For the love of money is a root

  182. of what.

  183. All sorts of evil.

  184. I mean, just think of the evils around

  185. the world.

  186. I mean, you think of the greatest evils

  187. around the world. How about sex trafficking? What

  188. I think of Evils. I think the sex

  189. trafficking is a horrendous evil?

  190. Where women,

  191. and children,

  192. girls and boys are kidnapped

  193. by the tens of thousands. I mean, it's

  194. in the tens of thousands, perhaps millions.

  195. It's a leading

  196. cry it's a huge crime here in the

  197. United States.

  198. And guess what drives that? The love of

  199. wet.

  200. Love of money.

  201. You how many babies have been killed via

  202. abortion?

  203. Because of the love of money.

  204. Well,

  205. I won't be able to get that boat.

  206. Are hope be able do these drugs or,

  207. you know, not saying everybody has abortions for

  208. that reason or this reason, but a lot

  209. of times it has to do with finances?

  210. It really is. Or how about the drug

  211. cartel?

  212. Is there any money or left for money

  213. involved in that sin, which is destroying, you

  214. know, what we have over a hundred thousand

  215. overdoses a year in the United States of

  216. America.

  217. Because of fentanyl and other drugs,

  218. many of them coming over the border.

  219. For love money a root of all sorts

  220. of evil. And some by longing for it,

  221. there that that wished to be or

  222. desi to be longing for it, have wandered

  223. wet.

  224. They've wandered away from the faith

  225. and pierce them through

  226. themselves pierce themselves with many grief

  227. caused a lot of grief,

  228. but they've wandered away from the faith that

  229. serious

  230. Because if first Timothy chapter 4,

    1 Timothy 4 chapter mention

  231. couple chapters before this,

  232. he says the holy spirit speaks expressly that

  233. in the latter days, some will depart from

  234. the faith. Keeping hates us inducing spirits and

  235. doctors and demons. So he warns that false

  236. doctrines could lead people away from the faith.

  237. Hey amen, and we've talked about that.

  238. But he is saying a desire to be

  239. rich,

  240. can cause people to wander from the faith,

  241. and come on you guys.

  242. There's all kinds of people that you probably

  243. work with that grew up in church, you

  244. know?

  245. Many people that

  246. Remember, we went if you what don't we...

  247. Why don't when did I teach on Sunday?

  248. The parable of the wet.

  249. Parable is over.

  250. Remember the 4 different hearts we looked at.

  251. The first heart was what?

  252. The Call heart, who good memory.

  253. The Call heart or the heart and heart.

  254. Right?

  255. And that was the 1 who the seed,

  256. which represents what's the seed? Word the word

  257. of God

  258. And the sow is who.

  259. Jesus said a man, but we are the

  260. body of christ hands in his feet. So

  261. he sow through us now. We preach the

  262. word. We plant the seed amen.

  263. The seed was not able to penetrate that

  264. first soil that represents the call heart because

  265. it was just so hard and the birds,

  266. which represent satan in that parable court Jesus,

  267. they steal that see before Germ.

  268. And Satan seals the seed to keep people

  269. from coming to faith and being saved. Amen.

  270. That was the first heart. What was the

  271. second heart?

  272. The second heart was

  273. the

  274. first who was Call. The second was... The

  275. Rockies coming up The second was was a

  276. shallow heart.

  277. That was when where it says, the roots

  278. were not firm.

  279. I mentioned to you in Israel, there's a

  280. lot of bedrock,

  281. which you'll see if you go on an

  282. Israel trip with us. There's just rocks everywhere.

  283. There's a lot of bedrock where the soil

  284. is just couple inches sick, 2, 3 inch

  285. inches sick, thick, and the roots don't go

  286. very deep and when sun comes out after

  287. they spring up,

  288. These plants just die because Don't have deep

  289. roots, and we talked about the importance of

  290. having deep roots.

  291. But these represent

  292. those who

  293. Well, it doesn't say they were sincere.

  294. Certain theology wanna just believe they were ins

  295. insecure at first because it doesn't fit their

  296. their theology, but it says, they actually received

  297. the word with wed. Joy with joy. They're

  298. excited about the Lord at first. They had

  299. joy.

  300. You know?

  301. And

  302. they believe for a while. And why is

  303. the first go back now again to the

  304. Call heart? Satan takes a seat out so

  305. they will not want and be saved.

  306. So Not believe and be saved. So becoming

  307. to belief in that context of that parable

  308. brings what.

  309. Salvation amen.

  310. But here, it does say they do believe,

  311. which quoted Jesus in this purple brings salvation.

  312. And they believe it says for a while,

  313. but it times of temptation they fall away.

  314. Even though they received the word with joy,

  315. So you can't have joy.

  316. And and you can leave your first love,

  317. the Bible says in revelation chapter 2.

    Revelation 2 chapter mention

  318. It's very clear. Sad.

  319. So you have to beat yourself down like

  320. Paul said, so we need become a doc

  321. us. You have to take up your cross

  322. daily, Amen.

  323. And Jesus put Jesus first when you get

  324. up in the morning, he's first

  325. and and continue to look to him. So

  326. there's that

  327. Tell heart, then there's that shallow heart. And

  328. then after that was the rocky or the

  329. crowded heart.

  330. The crowded heart.

  331. And that is a heart that

  332. there's satan can't keep that person from believing.

  333. Fact, that person starts out becoming a little

  334. bit somewhat fruitful.

  335. But

  336. and there's life.

  337. Second first soil, there's no life. There's no

  338. regeneration.

  339. Second, so, there's life. There's joy at first,

  340. but then there's a death.

  341. Third soil. That's the crowded heart. Call heart.

  342. Shallow heart, then the crowded heart. What's it

  343. crowded with? Remember this, which fits with what

  344. we're looking at in first Timothy, interesting timing.

  345. Right? Or chapter 8 verse 14 of Luke,

  346. the seed which fell among the Thorn. These

  347. are the ones who had heard

  348. And as they go on their way, they

  349. are what, choked with worries and riches and

  350. pleasures of this life. I bring no fruit

  351. to maturity.

  352. Mark chapter 4 verse 19 listen to what

    Mark 4:19

  353. Jesus says. But the worries of the world

  354. and that the seat of

  355. riches or wealth

  356. and the desires

  357. for the things of this world

  358. enter in and choke the word, and it

  359. becomes it becomes un.

  360. So you don't wanna become un. Second Timothy

  361. or second Peter or chapter 1. Talks about

  362. adding to your faith, 7 virtue and growing

  363. your faith. So you don't become un,

  364. you know, near sight and then blind,

  365. forgetting that you were saved or purified from

  366. your past sins. You can get to the

  367. point, According to scripture thus say at the

  368. word of God and second, Peter Chapter 1

  369. where you forget that you're even saved.

  370. Says they forget that they were purified

  371. from their past sins.

  372. And that's very important to understand because here

  373. we see the love of money.

  374. Has caused people to what? Wander away from

  375. the faith.

  376. K?

  377. And

  378. pierce themselves with many grief.

  379. Now it's interesting. It says, in verse 10,

  380. notice it says, but plunge men into ruin

  381. and destruction.

  382. Plunge men into ruin and destruction

  383. And I thought, yeah, it's interesting such a

  384. powerful, you know, in the Greek when you

  385. look at the Greek, and you try to

  386. parse the Greek, it kept be ruin and

  387. destruction in 2 different things.

  388. Many scholars say, well, if they point out

  389. it probably means the same thing as just

  390. ruin and destruction describing the same, which I

  391. prop think is probably correct.

  392. You know, describing the final end of these

  393. folks, you know?

  394. And by the way, plunge men into ruin

  395. and destruction.

  396. That word plunge was used the first century

  397. of ship wreck ships that would go down,

  398. and you just see the ship of all

  399. these people just go

  400. plunge down in into ruin and destruction.

  401. And that's a powerful picture.

  402. Oh, and by the way, when I was

  403. looking at this greek word for destruction,

  404. it's used of somebody who was longing to

  405. be rich.

  406. Who plunged himself like a ship down to

  407. hell.

  408. In fact, he was nicknamed by Jesus a

  409. son of destruction, same Greek word. And that

  410. was J,

  411. who betrayed Jesus out of greed, have betrayed

  412. him with a kiss

  413. and plunge himself

  414. he hung himself.

  415. And the rope or the branch broke, We

  416. don't know how exactly it happened. And his...

  417. He went down and crane,

  418. smashed the bottom of the cliff and out

  419. came his bowel. Talk about plunging.

  420. Being plunged structure. He's called the son of

  421. destruction. Now I was looking at this text,

  422. I was like, wow, Lord,

  423. this guy, J is such a powerful picture

  424. of this warning here.

  425. Is not amazing.

  426. Now,

  427. And as I said, yeah, J has called

  428. by Jesus is a son of destruction. And

  429. what's interesting

  430. about J,

  431. some people try to exon J.

  432. You know, the liberals, you know, the the

  433. no,

  434. the No had a gospel called the gospel

  435. of J.

  436. And I like to read, you know,

  437. from time to time. The early church fathers

  438. and and how they're fighting no and so

  439. forth. And then No basically taught that all

  440. creation was evil

  441. because it was created by an Evil God.

  442. And

  443. and that Evil God is not the 1

  444. ultimate god and so forth and therefore, since

  445. he created the physical universe, everything physical.

  446. They said was evil, which is alive from

  447. the Pit of hell,

  448. And they have a gospel called the Gospel

  449. of J,

  450. In the Gospel of J, the No 6

  451. made the evil guys just like Satan do

  452. today. There at Satan.

  453. Satan was a hero because he told Eve,

  454. she could become god,

  455. and was freeing her from Y way to

  456. creator.

  457. And that didn't work out so long.

  458. How actually he led her into bondage in

  459. destruction.

  460. She wanted power? She wanted be as God.

  461. But it's interesting when you think about it,

  462. the No cora

  463. kane,

  464. these are heroes and the no Gospel.

  465. The serpent is a hero.

  466. J was a hero in the gospel of

  467. J, which the church fathers talked about

  468. But, you know, the No or I should

  469. say liberal scholars said, oh, probably never existed.

  470. You know, there's make the no look bad

  471. that it was discovered not too many years

  472. ago.

  473. You know, just... I don't think it was,

  474. like, 15 years ago or so 20 years

  475. ago it was discovered.

  476. Get... That might have my date wrong. I

  477. wasn't too long. I was, wow. They found

  478. that thing. And when you read through it,

  479. I've looked through it. J is a hero,

  480. and he... Because he does betray Jesus,

  481. but it's to

  482. get him crucified, but so we could free

  483. him from

  484. his body, which he's trapped in a body

  485. because the body is a prison os.

  486. Rather than a blessing it's a prison.

  487. So they twist it. Liberal theologian say, well,

  488. J, you know, he probably was the discouraged

  489. because

  490. this the the revolution that he thought Jesus

  491. was bringing to the Earth to overcome the

  492. Romans and free Israel from the Roman Hill

  493. of oppression.

  494. Was back firing, and it wasn't working outright.

  495. So he didn't like the way Jesus was

  496. going about it, and course, Jesus was talking

  497. about going to the cross and stuff. Right,

  498. guys. Even Peter struggled with that. Remember.

  499. You go, far it for me, You know,

  500. Jesus says get behind me satan.

  501. So they say, and what J was getting

  502. discouraged

  503. because they weren't ruling, like he was hoping

  504. they'd be ruling sooner

  505. And that... We... I don't have a hard

  506. time with saying, that. You just might have

  507. been getting very discouraged because it wasn't turned

  508. out because Jesus was getting closer to fiction

  509. and stuff, and He didn't like that idea

  510. of how things were gonna turn out. But

  511. they taken it a step further and say,

  512. and what do wanna do is turn Jesus

  513. and have and betray him. So Jesus be

  514. forced

  515. to call the legions of Angels to save

  516. him from rome and build the King of

  517. israel on the earth and then J and

  518. the other apostles could rule the earth. And

  519. that was his desire

  520. just to hurry up Jesus kingdom.

  521. It's not that really that complicated though, guys.

  522. It's not the J gospel no.

  523. It's not what some liberals say that he

  524. had good motives. It just, you know, was,

  525. you know, miss missteps or whatever they're trying

  526. to say there.

  527. It it's a lot less complicated to that.

  528. J problem was greed.

  529. It's that simple. Okay?

  530. In fact, the scriptures make it clear that

  531. god portrays him as that way,

  532. Not saying there weren't more complicated things going

  533. on, but ultimately,

  534. he was a greedy person,

  535. and

  536. it's important to understand that

  537. Jesus addressed that greed in J,

  538. you know?

  539. And he warned him

  540. in fact, it's interesting,

  541. J, we read in the gospel of John

  542. that the 2 sisters, Mary and Martha, remember

  543. them,

  544. Mary Bethany,

  545. and the 2 sisters

  546. we're having a, basically a dinner and honor

  547. of Jesus.

  548. And,

  549. they were doing this because

  550. He just resurrected their brother. Sound like a

  551. good plan to me. You know, it's honor

  552. the 1 who just resurrected Lazarus,

  553. and they're having a dinner for him and

  554. so forth. And we read in John 12

  555. 3 that then Mary took a pint of

  556. pure na.

  557. An expensive perfume, she poured it on Jesus

  558. feet and wiped his feet with her hair,

  559. and the house was filled with a fragrance

  560. of the perfume,

  561. John 12 3.

  562. That's pretty pretty beautiful.

  563. And, you know, we don't have time to

  564. get into the story too much, but she's

  565. taking this pint of Pure yard which was

  566. worth a lot of money,

  567. and she breaks it as she pours on

  568. his feet.

  569. And she wipes his feet with this beautiful,

  570. you know aroma

  571. perfume that's filling the home.

  572. And J is gonna get ticked off about

  573. this.

  574. Because J really, really, really, his heart hurting

  575. for the poor. It could help a lot

  576. of poor people. That's what he says basically

  577. because the hip and he's pretending,

  578. but

  579. by the way, and

  580. Jesus basically,

  581. I love jesus except for Mary this, and

  582. he speaks the truth.

  583. He Jewish says in versus 4 5, he

  584. could read if you want. Why wasn't this

  585. perfume sold and the money given to the

  586. poor.

  587. It was worth a year's wages.

  588. She's taking something

  589. that's very valuable. Right?

  590. And

  591. she's using it for Jesus.

  592. And that... There's a lot of implications They

  593. would have time to get into.

  594. And a verse, you know, why was this

  595. perfume So forth then, John, when he tells

  596. the story, he makes sure we understand,

  597. that it was because of J greed that

  598. he said this, and John explains, quote, in

  599. verse 6, J did not say this because

  600. he cared about the poor. But because he

  601. was a thief.

  602. As keeper the money bag, he used to

  603. help himself to what was put into it.

  604. K?

  605. And then Jesus says to them because they

  606. kinda join the other disciples apostles kinda join

  607. with J like, yeah, what are you doing?

  608. And that Jesus says I love this. I'll

  609. leave her alone.

  610. It was intended that she just should, save

  611. this perfume. For the day of my burial.

  612. You will always have the poor among you.

  613. Meaning continue to love them administer them. You're

  614. gonna have them with you, but you will

  615. not always have me

  616. he's the son of God with him. He's

  617. going to his burial.

  618. And

  619. and I trip out on this because it

  620. just

  621. They had their clueless about his burial. Right?

  622. Right?

  623. They're all tripping out. And and but I've

  624. I shared with you before.

  625. Through the years 1 my... I love this

  626. because

  627. what what... How did she have this insight?

  628. Very simple

  629. because when Martha was badger her about helping

  630. her in the kitchen because Jesus was there.

  631. Right?

  632. And

  633. Mary is at Jesus feet

  634. talking about it's another it's incident,

  635. Jesus says,

  636. you know, Martha,

  637. she's actually chosen the better part

  638. and what has been given to her, will

  639. not be taken away from her.

  640. So Jesus is discussing is speaking truth. Guess

  641. who is guess who has ears to hear

  642. Mary Bethany.

  643. And while all the disciples don't always have

  644. ears to hear about the crucifixion because they

  645. don't wanna see Jesus crucified.

  646. That's doesn't fit and they're understanding how the

  647. kingdom is supposed to come.

  648. She gets it.

  649. She seems to be the only 1

  650. humanly speaking

  651. at this point in time.

  652. That understands that Jesus is going to

  653. die on the cross.

  654. Not that he didn't tell the others, but

  655. he told them a lot of things, but

  656. they had selective hearing. Amen.

  657. Now,

  658. Judah so,

  659. he's just involved... He just wants the money

  660. at this point.

  661. And he becomes, you know, greedy and more

  662. and more greedy as he sees the time

  663. getting closer.

  664. But keep in mind, he had already begun

  665. stealing,

  666. from the money bag.

  667. So when first Timothy,

    1 Timothy 6 chapter mention

  668. chapter 6 warns us,

  669. god warns

  670. through Paul Timothy, Timothy, that warning comes to

  671. us,

  672. because we're supposed to be reading this is

  673. studying it.

  674. That greed can lead to

  675. ruin and destruction or it will eventually,

  676. J is the son of destruction same word.

  677. And his life was

  678. basically characterized

  679. by greed.

  680. Now, Jesus warned him over and over again.

  681. Jesus

  682. Here heard the seat was there on the

  683. certain of that,

  684. when jesus says in chapter 6 verse 19

  685. through 21. Lay out for yourselves treasure on

  686. earth where mouth and rust do crept in

  687. fees, bacon and steel. But J you too,

  688. they have for ourselves treasure have when either

  689. mouth or rust corrupt and thieves can't break

  690. it in steal.

  691. And He was there for that. He was

  692. there in Matthew chapter Matthew chapter 6 first

    Matthew 6 chapter mention

  693. 24 His first versus later. When Jesus says,

  694. you can't serve 2 masters.

  695. Either you're what.

  696. Hate the 1 and love the other. You

  697. love the 1 hate the other you can't

  698. both God and m and. Amen.

  699. But guess what? You can't only have 1

  700. Lord.

  701. You can't have both God and money as

  702. your Lord.

  703. J chose money as his Lord.

  704. It's that simple.

  705. He chose to put money first in his

  706. life.

  707. What a what a sad existence for people

  708. who

  709. put money first

  710. in their lives.

  711. Dud was there,

  712. when

  713. Jesus

  714. made a whip and went to the temple

  715. and overturn the tables. Right?

  716. Took a chair and said and and got

  717. the money changers out of the temple

  718. and said that you're not to make my

  719. my house aid Dan of Robbers, Amen.

  720. Because they were all about money.

  721. But the thing is is when that was

  722. going down, guess what, The disciples all should

  723. have been taking note. It's not about money.

  724. Jesus warned about those who devour Widows houses

  725. as the ph.

  726. They devour widows houses. They look at widows

  727. as opportunity to exploit them for the money

  728. that's left over. These widows who have

  729. little,

  730. modi of money left from their husband dying

  731. or have a lot or somewhere in between

  732. the ph he's would scheme to get their

  733. money.

  734. How wicked is that?

  735. Sometimes these widows would have little children

  736. and they'd scheme. Jesus said that these guys

  737. that do that have the greater judgment.

  738. Have greater condemnation than other people.

  739. So greed is very, very serious.

  740. J was there.

  741. When they were talking about the vote of

  742. gifts that were given at the temple and

  743. how beautiful the temple was, and jesus said

  744. not when stone would be standing on the

  745. other

  746. Jesus... J was there

  747. when Jesus talked about

  748. the d of riches,

  749. crowded out the word of God.

  750. J was there

  751. when he pointed out when Jesus pointed out

  752. to his apostles

  753. how that widow

  754. they gave the widow might. It's a Widow

  755. mite, which is worth just couple pennies.

  756. But said she gave more than all the

  757. rich folks.

  758. Because she gave out of her poverty. She

  759. gave everything she had

  760. because she was so much wanting to see

  761. the word word of the work of God

  762. go forward.

  763. She was very sac superficial or giving.

  764. That would not compute in J brain. Would

  765. it? No

  766. which is heartbreaking.

  767. And praise the Lord, we have a decent

  768. amount of people here tonight.

  769. You're here because guess what you're doing first,

  770. seeking the kingdom of God.

  771. And as righteous the say, amen.

  772. You know this world's temporary.

  773. It's been around for a while, you know

  774. it goes quick to you. Amen.

  775. He can't take it with you as Paul

  776. earlier and versus

  777. 7 8 and 7 8 before the verses

  778. I just read.

  779. You bring nothing in the world. You take

  780. nothing with you.

  781. But we still have to be careful

  782. because paul's warning those who are in the

  783. faith that if they do this, they can

  784. wander away from the faith.

  785. He's warning believers.

  786. Not warning non believers in the church non

  787. believers. You... If you wanna a anomaly, you

  788. tell you what longer that we need to

  789. get saved. Amen. You don't worry about wandering

  790. from the faith. They're not in the faith

  791. yet. Amen.

  792. So,

  793. this is all very, very important.

  794. And

  795. J man,

  796. he betray jesus He throw throat... He shows

  797. up

  798. with

  799. the soldiers,

  800. a large crowd that says in Matthew 26

  801. 47

  802. with armed with swords and clubs

  803. and Judah spotted Jesus.

  804. And then he gave a signal

  805. because it's gonna be dark out.

  806. And

  807. it's gonna be dark and there's be these

  808. different disciples, and I wanna... And how are

  809. we gonna know who it is.

  810. I'll kick him my kiss.

  811. How wicked is that, man? So J was

  812. gonna betray Jesus with a kiss

  813. and going out,

  814. once we read that Judah said greetings, rabbi

  815. and kissed him. That's Matthew 26 versus 48

  816. and 49.

  817. And J

  818. Jesus says J, are you going to betray

  819. me with a kiss?

  820. He could translate that, the the the para

  821. phrase that. Are you really going to

  822. betray me with a kiss, really?

  823. Like, how wicked is that? You know?

  824. So J was driven

  825. in his actions

  826. by the love for money.

  827. What can you say about our lives by

  828. wave application?

  829. What are we driven by?

  830. Better better yet, who are we led by?

  831. Satan in the spirit of the riches of

  832. this world

  833. are we led by the Lord Jesus Christ.

  834. And his love

  835. and his goodness and his righteousness, you know?

  836. And it's sad because, you know, J

  837. Basically, he was driven by

  838. this love for money, and he traded

  839. the love of Jesus. The infinite love of

  840. Christ

  841. The if infinite on ending love a Christ

  842. he traded for 30 pieces of silver.

  843. Which he didn't even keep. He realized what

  844. he had done How was sick it was,

  845. but he didn't repent.

  846. He regretted what he did.

  847. But the bible says Godly sorrow leads to

  848. repentance which leads to

  849. life.

  850. Amen, but worldly sorrow leads to

  851. death.

  852. And worldly Sorrow is your sorrow sorrow because

  853. your plan didn't work out.

  854. Because it did get your way. Things that

  855. work out the way you wanted them to

  856. God sorry, you're you're sorry because you've sinned

  857. against, thrice Holy God. Amen.

  858. You offended the holy 1 of Israel.

  859. The creator of all things, the 1 who

  860. made you in his image who loves you

  861. who sent his son to die for you.

  862. You've spur his love, his goodness his grace,

  863. his mercy, you spit in his face.

  864. It was 1 thing to deny Christ, which

  865. was horrible and Peter did that. Right? If

  866. other disciples. But it's another thing that ce

  867. jesus is out betray with a kiss.

  868. That's a whole another level

  869. of evil.

  870. So Timothy is concerned about those who had

  871. wandered from the faith.

  872. And we should take heed to this because

  873. You don't ever wanna get to the place

  874. where you think,

  875. yeah. But I'm a chosen man.

  876. I could never wander from the faith.

  877. I'm a real disciple.

  878. I could never want for the faith.

  879. I would never become a traitor

  880. Paul didn't have that on.

  881. Paul said in chapter 10 and chapter 9

  882. at first corinthians that him who thinks he

  883. stats take he lest he fall.

  884. You have to realize the capacity of evil

  885. that is in your heart if it's un

  886. unsettled.

  887. You don't want awesome think your flesh is

  888. better than else's is flesh.

  889. We don't know all the evil that we

  890. are capable of except by the grace of

  891. God. Go we, amen. So that's why Paul

  892. said in the same section where he says

  893. that he thinks he stands, take he lest

  894. he fall. That's where he said I beat

  895. my body down so after I've preached the

  896. gospel with others I myself would not become

  897. rejected by god to doc us.

  898. And that's why you... You're chosen Well, Julius

  899. was chosen.

  900. In fact, Luke chapter 16 verse 13 says,

    Luke 16:13

  901. And when the day came, he called his

  902. disciples

  903. to him. Juice was a disciple. Well w

  904. I'm a disciple. Juice was a disciple.

  905. He called his disciples to him and chose.

  906. He was chosen. Chose 12 of them.

  907. Whom we also named as apostles.

  908. Simon, whom we also named Peter, Andrew Andrew,

  909. his brother and James and John and Philip

  910. anna Boom and then verse 16 J, the

  911. son of James.

  912. And J is.

  913. Listen into this. This is verse 18 of

  914. John or Luke chapter 6. And J is

    Luke 6 chapter mention

  915. scary.

  916. Who became a traitor.

  917. Notice it's that? Doesn't say who was a

  918. traitor from the time he was chosen. No.

  919. Says he became a trader.

  920. Okay?

  921. It's very possible like the first or the

  922. second soil

  923. that he received the word with joy

  924. that he was excited. He actually followed Jesus

  925. for 3 years.

  926. But toward the end of those years, he

  927. became a trader,

  928. and I believe even before he became a

  929. trader, he started

  930. from Jesus money bag.

  931. It shocks me that he kisses Jesus, but

  932. then it doesn't shock me because he's already

  933. stealing from Jesus.

  934. And how disgusting is that, you know?

  935. He became a traitor,

  936. you know, J?

  937. Was given

  938. eternal life. He was given to Jesus. In

  939. fact, go to John chapter 17,

    John 17 chapter mention

  940. you'll see this.

  941. Because some will say, oh, well Jesus was

  942. never saved. Where does it say that?

  943. Well, it says in John that Jesus knew

  944. who

  945. you know,

  946. who really believed and who would betray him.

  947. Yeah.

  948. That's 2 different groups.

  949. 1 is Plural 1 singular. He knew who

  950. didn't really believe

  951. plural, those that didn't really believe. And he

  952. knew who would betray him That's second. That's

  953. secondary class.

  954. Knew that J was gonna betray him. It

  955. doesn't say that J was a thief from

  956. the beginning.

  957. He chose... In fact, we read in the

  958. gospel counts we read that J was confer

  959. the apostolic authority by the power of the

  960. holy Spirit to go and do miracles

  961. to heal the le to heal the sick

  962. you know, those who were lame to cast

  963. out demons and he came back with the

  964. other apostles, and they all had success.

  965. And we read in John chapter 17, go

    John 17 chapter mention

  966. to john Chapter 17.

    John 17 chapter mention

  967. John 17.

  968. And we read in verses 1 and 2,

  969. Jesus high priest sleep prayer. He's praying

  970. for his apostles,

  971. you know, who gonna percent... Bring the good

  972. word out and goes extends that prayer beyond

  973. the apostles. Of course, even to us, those

  974. who hear the word through their preaching.

  975. And for the world, he actually pray for

  976. the lost world that they would see the

  977. witness of the believers who love 1 another,

  978. it come to Christ to understand who he

  979. is through our witness.

  980. But he pray initially for his apostles

  981. and look at chapter 17 verse 1. Jesus

  982. spoke these things and lifting up his eyes

  983. to heaven. He said this,

  984. Father, the hour has come, glorify your son

  985. that the son may glorify you.

  986. Look at verse 2.

  987. Even as you gave him authority over all

  988. flesh that as to all whom you have

  989. given him to all you what you have

  990. what?

  991. All whom you have given him,

  992. he what.

  993. He he he may give eternal life. So

  994. when the father is, you know, When the

  995. father gives the son,

  996. people, he gives them what,

  997. eternal life.

  998. What does it mean the father gives the

  999. son people?

1000. Is that some kind of unconditional election where

1001. God the father has certain people only? And

1002. and then he just gives him the son

1003. and you have no choice or salvation. No.

1004. No. What happens when you read the gospel,

1005. is there certain people that belong to the

1006. father before Jesus comes on the scene.

  1007. There's Adam,

1008. not An fire, but niacin

  1009. Simeon,

1010. right, and Anna, for instance, They're Simeon and

1011. Anna, take take those 2. They're waiting for

1012. the cost of Israel. They're waiting for the

1013. messiah to be born. Remember, Adam wants to

1014. hold the Messiah. Right? She can't wait. They're

1015. just hold them Messiah. They're looking for... They

1016. already belong to the father. Amen. There's all

1017. sorts of people that already belong to the

1018. father. Remember talks about branches that were broken

1019. off the Jews because they're un unbelievable, but

1020. not all the branches were broken off.

1021. There were Jews that were believing in and

1022. Jesus says if you believed Moses, you would

1023. believed me, there were those who believed in

1024. Moses. They belonged to the father, Amen. Amen.

1025. So when Jesus came on the scene,

1026. The good shepherd, Jesus was given by the

1027. father, those that belong to him to Jesus.

  1028. Okay?

1029. It's that simple. But all those that are

1030. given to Jesus, he gives what,

  1031. eat eternal life.

1032. But go ahead and look at verse 12.

1033. While I was with them, I was keeping

  1034. them.

1035. Praise God. While I was with them, I

1036. was keeping them in your name.

1037. Which you gave which you've given me,

1038. Those was the ones he gave me to

  1039. her life.

1040. And I guarded them and not 1 of

  1041. them perished

  1042. but who,

  1043. the set of tradition

1044. that the scriptures would be fulfilled.

1045. J was given to Jesus by the father.

1046. He was chosen. He was 1 of the

  1047. 12.

1048. He was given eternal life. First 2.

1049. And eternal life is in the sun by

1050. the way. Amen. He's the vine where the

1051. branch is a amen. Amen. K. We only

1052. have internal life in relation to him. Whether

1053. you... Have or not. He has it. He

1054. has he is the... He is the way

1055. the truth and the life. He is first

    1 John 1:1

1056. John chapter 1 verse 1. First John chapter

1057. 05:19 and 20. He is the eternal life.

  1058. So

1059. look at verse 12 again. While I was

1060. with them, I was keeping them in your

  1061. name,

1062. which you have given me and I guarded

1063. them and not 1 of them perished, but

  1064. the son of tradition.

1065. So the scriptures would be fulfilled. So he

1066. lost none of these apostles

  1067. except 1

1068. that the may be fulfilled.

1069. Now was... Of course, it was J

  1070. choice,

1071. Jesus warned him. Even at the last supper.

1072. Jesus hat to him the sop. Right?

1073. He made the sop available to him.

1074. He tried to appeal his conscience.

1075. Know, you betray me with a kiss.

1076. He said to to J, he says, you

1077. know, the 1 that betray me

  1078. because Jews.

1079. It's better for him that him that he

1080. would never be born. That's before he betrayed

  1081. him by the way.

1082. J is getting some severe warnings.

  1083. And

1084. there are certain scriptures that reveal that J

  1085. would commit apostasy.

1086. That he would fall away.

1087. The scriptures would have to be fulfilled,

1088. not because god forced him to do that,

1089. but because God knew he would do that.

  1090. Like, I believe personally

1091. be God his sovereignty could've have chosen any

  1092. 12, but he chose J. He chose J

1093. because he knew that J would be the

  1094. kind of guy.

1095. Who would first be excited and receive the

  1096. word with joy,

1097. but become a traitor later,

1098. and that be perfect to pull off the

  1099. what, the crucifixion,

1100. did he predetermined him and make him do

1101. it? Yes or no. No. That was J

  1102. choice.

1103. But he knew even across even against those

1104. warnings. He would still choose to be that

  1105. way because certain people,

1106. you know, god knows all things. Amen.

1107. Amen In fact, it says in John chapter

    John 2 chapter mention

1108. 2, that Jesus did commit himself to certain

1109. people because he knew what was in their

  1110. hearts.

1111. God makes choices based on what he knows

1112. about people in their choices.

1113. But if you respond to the gospel positively,

1114. of course, he'll make good in his word

  1115. he'll accept you,

1116. but he calls you to persevere,

1117. and J did not persevere.

1118. When it says that the scripture would be

1119. fulfilled, what scriptures? Well, their scriptures about b

1120. jesus being crucified, course and so forth. But

  1121. there also specific scriptures

  1122. that related to

  1123. Jesus being betrayed.

1124. And to really understand this,

  1125. it gets kinda deep.

1126. And but we we can hand we can

  1127. handle it is,

  1128. you'll remember

  1129. a prophecy

1130. which ends up being a messi prophecy in

  1131. Psalm 41

  1132. regarding J.

1133. That's quoted in John chapter 13 verse

    John 13:18

  1134. 18, and that's Psalm 41, and it's about

  1135. the apostle J.

1136. However, when you read Psalm 41, it's like,

1137. you know don't, realize the props about

  1138. J

  1139. because...

1140. And it's... Well, it's really about Jesus and

1141. J, but really it's also about David and

  1142. the Hit.

1143. Was King David's trusted counselor,

  1144. his good friend

  1145. that a great relationship.

1146. Nfl ended up turning on David. Right? And

1147. up counseling an And how to take his

  1148. kingdom and destroy David.

  1149. And it's... And it's of

1150. That he says in chapter 41.

1151. Even my close friend whom I trusted

1152. he shared my bread has lived up his

  1153. healed against me.

1154. David says that about a close friend.

  1155. Even my close friend,

1156. who broke bread with me. We shared fellowship

1157. has said that was heel against me.

  1158. So that was a.

1159. Why it if they'll do that by the

  1160. way?

  1161. It's a mystery, not really. I think it

  1162. is, but it's not.

1163. Because if you look at it fell in

  1164. the gene ideologies,

1165. he was stabbed in the back by David.

  1166. Not betrayed by David,

  1167. but he had...

1168. David had sexual relations with Be toshiba.

  1169. Nfl was her

  1170. grandfather.

1171. K? When you check it out, and just

  1172. get steep.

1173. So if it felt felt betrayed by Dave

  1174. in the way,

1175. you took, you know, my granddaughter from Uri

1176. mariah, who he probably really loved because R

1177. was such a amount of god. And he

1178. felt so let down by David.

1179. David Sin had far reaching,

  1180. you know,

  1181. consequences that we don't always recognize That's 1

1182. of them that we don't talk about much.

  1183. But that's heavy. And that's way... I love

1184. getting together. Are you guys love by say

1185. the ball together. So we search the scripts

1186. scriptures we learn things together. And... And all,

1187. everything just can can come together as you

1188. study scripture together. But there's other things that

1189. come together here as well. It nfl ends

  1190. up what,

  1191. committing suicide.

  1192. What a picture of J is?

  1193. David

1194. and the David dynasty, right?

  1195. King of Judah, right?

1196. There's another king that's coming down the road,

1197. the son of David Amen, who actually dave

1198. refers to as his lord because it's talking

1199. about the coming masa messiah amen,

1200. And there's all these prophecies in the old

  1201. testament about this prophetic

  1202. king,

1203. which will be the son of David, and

1204. these prophecies about how David will reign in

  1205. the future.

1206. But their prophecies ultimately about the David king,

  1207. the ultimate David.

  1208. Okay?

  1209. Jesus, the Lord Jesus.

  1210. And

  1211. David's

  1212. life

1213. in many ways the picture of Jesus. Remember

1214. is David in Psalm 22,

1215. who talks about my God by God, Why

1216. has self forsaken me, Right? I'm like a

1217. worm. Right? A tow fifth. Right? We have

1218. time to get that. But remember the tow

1219. fifth worm, you know, that's a picture Jesus

  1220. on the cross.

1221. And he says, you know, they've divided my

  1222. garments. Right?

1223. They've they've, you know, pierce my hands and

  1224. my feet.

  1225. That's Psalm 22 about david, but really who's

  1226. that about?

  1227. Jesus.

1228. So when you read the psalms,

1229. oftentimes there's what we call messi psalms.

1230. These are prophetic songs about Jesus.

1231. And David is singing about what's happened in

1232. his life regarding a real person, real event,

  1233. had fell betray him.

1234. Not that David understands fully what he's even

1235. writing. Knows what's happened in his life, but

1236. the holy spirit saying guess what. There's a

  1237. prophetic technological

1238. trajectory where David's life is being and is

1239. acting out of future with what the messiah

1240. is going to go through. Are you still

1241. with me? Amen. Because Messiah is going to

1242. betray him. I'm sorry. The messiah is gonna

  1243. be betrayed by J.

1244. Nfl betray David his close friend.

  1245. Good relationship with him.

1246. Things don't work out the way have felt

1247. thinks there should work out with David.

  1248. He betray him.

1249. It phil realizes that he's the robo betray.

  1250. Commit suicide.

  1251. J,

1252. this verse is quoted of J,

1253. in John chapter 13. If you wanna look

    John 13 chapter mention

1254. at it, go to John chapter 13. Verse

    John 13 chapter mention

  1255. 18.

1256. Jesus talks about the 1 who's gonna betray

1257. him, and he says, in John chapter 13

    John 13:18

  1258. verse 18,

1259. He says this. I do not speak of

  1260. all of you.

1261. I know the ones I have chosen,

1262. but is that the scripture may be fulfilled?

  1263. He what.

1264. Eats my bread. Has lifted up his heel

  1265. against me.

  1266. He's calling Psalm 41 9.

1267. What Davis said it at the nfl has

1268. happened to me right now. He says.

  1269. And the picture is

1270. that he was at 1 time.

  1271. He wasn't always a traitor.

1272. But guess what? Hit fell lost heart regarding

1273. David because things didn't happen the way he

  1274. thought they should. Right?

1275. Judah lost heart. Toward Jesus because things were

1276. happened the way he thought they should.

1277. Are you with me? Man. So his heart

1278. became hard. He began to steal.

1279. And then he became a traitor.

1280. And it's quite interesting because there's other scriptures

1281. about 2 that we're fulfilled in this. Go

  1282. to acts chapter 1.

    Acts 1 chapter mention

  1283. Acts chapter 1.

    Acts 1 chapter mention

1284. And we read here. We don't have time

  1285. to read the whole

1286. section acts because I wanna get other versus

  1287. as well.

  1288. And

1289. is that clock already 08:13?

  1290. I got 15 minutes.

  1291. Okay. Lord, helped me.

  1292. Acts chapter 1 verse 17.

    Acts 1:17

1293. Is it... Just beer is going kinda of

  1294. fast?

1295. Just me? Oh, going fast good. Least for

  1296. some you right.

1297. Acts chapter 1 verse 17, it says for

    Acts 1:17

  1298. he speaking of J

1299. was counted among us and received his share

1300. in this ministry. He's part of the ministry.

  1301. K? Look at verse 20.

1302. For it is written in the book of

1303. psalms. Now this is this a prophecy about

  1304. J.

1305. For his written in the book of Psalms,

  1306. let his homestead

  1307. be made desolate

1308. and let no 1 dwell in it.

1309. And let another man take his place.

  1310. Wow.

  1311. And

1312. and if you look at, you know, versus

1313. 24 and 25 and following, and they prayed

1314. their praying for juices replacement. And they prayed

  1315. and said, you Lord,

1316. who know the hearts of all men

  1317. show which 1 of these 2

1318. you have chosen. They're picking new apostle to

1319. occupy this ministry and a ship from which

  1320. J what?

1321. Turned aside to go to his own place.

  1322. He turned away.

  1323. K? He's the 1 that committed the rebellion.

1324. But that prophecy when you go look at

  1325. it,

1326. that had... Says, I've kept all those that

1327. you given to me, but

1328. except that 1. To speaking of J.

1329. That the scriptures may be fulfilled.

1330. Well, we just looked at 1 Psalm 41,

  1331. profit that's 1 prophecy. It's also another 1

  1332. about J in Psalm 69,

1333. which is quoted here when we read in

  1334. verse 20 of acts 1 verse 20, for...

    Acts 1:20

1335. It is written in the psalms, let his

1336. homestead be made desolate and let

1337. him not know 1 dwell in it. Go

  1338. to Psalm chapter 69 verse 25.

    Psalms 69:25

1339. Says may their camp be desolate,

1340. may non dwell in their tents.

  1341. K, Jesus.

1342. Specifically, points this to J not that there's

1343. not more... There's others that will come commit

1344. a apostasy, No doubt, but J was the

1345. preeminent ap date at this point.

  1346. At verse 26

1347. for they have persecuted him who you yourself

  1348. have Sm.

  1349. That's a trip.

1350. And they tell of the pain of those

  1351. whom you have wounded,

1352. added in add add an equity David praise

  1353. to their ini equity.

1354. And may they not come into your righteousness.

  1355. Look at verse 28.

  1356. May they be what?

1357. May they be b out of the book

  1358. of life.

1359. And may they not be recorded with the

  1360. righteous.

1361. So David even praised at J

1362. and other ap, so it's such as J

  1363. that become a post

1364. that his name would be played out of

  1365. the book of life.

1366. And by the way, the book of life

  1367. is not...

1368. Everybody's name is not in the book of

  1369. life guys. Okay.

1370. That's why the believers are told to rejoice,

1371. not that you had power of the devils

1372. but rejoice that your names are written where

1373. in heaven amen. Do we tell non believers

1374. rejoice that your name's are written in Heaven.

1375. No. They're not not written in Heaven. Amen.

1376. So warning about being bought out of the

1377. book of life are for believers and here

1378. it indicates that J because the props about,

1379. his name was blood out of the book

1380. of life. He went belong to Jesus.

1381. K? I say that because some will say,

1382. oh, J probably never really loved Jesus. He

1383. never really followed him it doesn't say that.

1384. I'll see scripture say that.

1385. Show me a script scripture that says Jews

  1386. never really believed.

1387. Doesn't say that. It does say he became

  1388. a traitor.

1389. Does say that he was,

1390. prophetic speaking, a close friend of Jesus that

  1391. Jesus trusted in,

  1392. to a degree.

1393. And that he betrayed Jesus,

1394. and he broke Jesus heart. You betrayed me

1395. with a kiss? He know? This is a

  1396. real heartache

1397. you know? Jesus became possessed by the devil.

1398. And you start giving yourself in a sin,

1399. you don't even recognize your open yourself up

1400. to demonic forces. You start with portraying jesus

1401. and put putting money before Jesus, you're open

1402. yourself up to demonic entities.

1403. Okay? J end up getting possessed

  1404. by Satan. Right?

  1405. So

1406. He should have come to Jesus, say, have

  1407. mercy sent.

  1408. I can't believe what I've done.

  1409. You know?

  1410. And

  1411. but

1412. Jesus knew he wouldn't. That's why the prophecies

1413. read as they do read.

  1414. So how many people

1415. come to Jesus, planning them becoming ap dates.

1416. How many people get married to do a

1417. lot of people get married thinking, I don't

1418. need get married mcdonald's just divorce my wife

1419. a few days later. They will typically get

1420. married thinking that way either.

1421. So people do wander though from the faith.

1422. So how can we be

1423. make sure that we don't wander from the

1424. faith. Look at verse 11.

  1425. First timothy chapter 6,

    1 Timothy 6:11

  1426. verse 11.

1427. But flee from these things,

1428. you man of God and pursue righteousness,

  1429. god

  1430. faith,

  1431. love, perseverance

  1432. and gentleness.

1433. And then at verse 12, he's gonna say

1434. fight the good fight. Lay hold on eternal

  1435. life.

  1436. Amen? Amen

1437. eternal life is something that you lay hold

1438. on. It's something that you have relationship with.

  1439. Amen.

1440. So it's interesting that we we see these

  1441. these

  1442. incredible

1443. warnings and promises and But it's interesting, here

1444. says that we're supposed to flee

1445. these things? What things, the love of money?

1446. The doctrines that god means will be financially

1447. rich, those kinds of things.

1448. The word flea and agree the a few

1449. days a the greek word. It means to

1450. flee to escape to Shu, to run away

  1451. by application to shu,

1452. Joseph literally applied that idea Fleeing sydney when

1453. Pot wife tried to seduce him and married

  1454. women, he literally fled

1455. Right? For his life, we need to flee

1456. the desire to become rich and put riches

1457. before Jesus and run from that thought. Amen.

1458. If you're involved in that kind of thinking

  1459. you need to

1460. expel that from your heart and your mind.

  1461. But Joe, don't, I, I'm not supposed to

  1462. live earn a living them. I mean, I

1463. could use money to glorify god, and and

1464. I... What about, you know, taking care of

1465. my bills and everything. That's fine.

1466. As long as you're not making money your

1467. God. You're not putting money first. Amen. That's

  1468. what we're talking about here. K?

  1469. So

1470. so we're supposed to flee temptation, but knows

1471. what he says it's to flee these things

  1472. but pursue wet.

  1473. Supposed to pursue righteousness.

1474. Okay? And the word pursue there is die

1475. okay in the Greek and it means to

1476. to be relentless. It means it's in the

1477. active voice. In other words, it's a daily

1478. choice that you're constantly pursuing these things. What

1479. are you pursuing? You're pursuing righteousness.

1480. Jesus said in Matthew chick 06:33,

  1481. seek first to what

  1482. the king of God,

  1483. add his what,

  1484. righteousness.

1485. And all these things to be added to

1486. you. That's the cool thing. We seek first

1487. of father and his kingdom, and we seek

1488. the king who god it his what, righteousness

1489. and then all these things are added to

  1490. us.

1491. That's a deal. You just put God first,

1492. and he's gonna take care of you amen.

1493. You're gonna find yourself with a decent enough

  1494. job to pay bills.

1495. Well, I'm seeking it first. I'm putting it

1496. first, but I'm still flipping burgers after 35

1497. years. Well, and also helps to pray and

1498. say, Lord, I could use another job and

1499. seek the Lord to be diligent about those

  1500. things too. Amen,

1501. or maybe God wants you to witness to

1502. the people where you're at. And all say

  1503. it's like, wow. There's a revival going up

1504. my Mcdonald's, man. All these people know Jesus.

  1505. I don't know what he's got planned for

1506. you, but I know he's got great plans,

1507. and I know he doesn't fail us.

  1508. Psalm 0 2 or 01:01 verse 2. I

1509. will be careful to lead a blame life.

1510. When will you come to me? I will

1511. conduct the affairs of my house with a

1512. blame heart. We're supposed to seek to be

  1513. righteous before the lord,

1514. following his word. And then he says to

  1515. pursue what. God.

1516. The Greek word is uc see.

1517. And it's an interesting word because it's from

1518. you, which means well and and sub, which

1519. is means to reverence or to fear God.

1520. And it literally... It literally means well worship.

1521. Means to reverence or to to to to

1522. serve God and fear in a in a

1523. in a in a well... To do it

1524. do it in a well way, you know,

1525. well worship is sign of an interesting translation.

1526. But it means that we should be people

1527. that we're supposed to be pursuing not money

1528. in riches, we're supposed to be pursuing the

1529. fear of God, serving God in a revere

1530. way, being aware of God at all of

  1531. our dealings.

1532. Recognizing that he's gonna bring all things into

  1533. judgment.

1534. Recognizing that he is the living god. He's

1535. in our very midst. He sees everything. He's

  1536. he's here but he's a loving Gracious god

1537. who gave himself for us, but also demands

1538. that we truly follow him and says to

1539. us in Luke chapter 6. Why do you

    Luke 6 chapter mention

1540. call me Lord Lord and not obey the

1541. things I say that we need to be

1542. serious about following him and revere him, Amen?

  1543. So it's a very interesting word it's to

1544. have an awareness of God's holy presence,

1545. a fear of God that flee from sin

1546. And by the way, we don't get god,

1547. you know, which is what this word I'm

1548. talking about right now means Eu see. We

1549. don't get it by osmosis.

  1550. You know?

1551. You just don't come out of the shower.

  1552. And I said, oh, I got. No. It's

  1553. something you pursue.

1554. In fact, We read in first timothy chapter

1555. 478, We studied it actually, where we're told

1556. that we're supposed to discipline

1557. ourselves for the purpose of god this.

1558. What are we doing today?

1559. We got together for a mid week fellowship,

  1560. Amen,

1561. and we're learning to fear the lord more.

1562. We leave here what we, I don't want

  1563. be like J.

1564. I wanna be more like Jesus and on

1565. wanna a pursue Lord amen. So we grow

1566. in God. So you're doing it right now.

1567. You're pursuing God is by even being here

1568. right now if your heart is to grow

1569. in the lord, which I believe it is.

1570. We pray Hall would be thy name, amen.

1571. We pray that he'd show his name as

  1572. being holy.

1573. You know? And we also have to use

  1574. wisdom.

1575. Right now, as I speak, the Rn, the

  1576. Republican national convention.

1577. See what's going on there. They just decided

1578. that they're going to get rid of their

  1579. platform

1580. that the party stands for a nationwide

1581. ban on killing babies. They don't wanna present

  1582. that anymore.

1583. And Jd Vance who's Ohio... Say, House senator,

  1584. maybe, end up being,

  1585. Trump's pick for

  1586. vice president.

1587. He's profess Christian. He says he just... Now

1588. he agrees with Trump that the abortion pill,

1589. I call the kill pill. That should be

1590. legal, you know, for... That should be legal

  1591. throughout the United States.

1592. That's not biblical, guys. Okay. That's not Christian.

  1593. Don't confuse a republican party as a godly

  1594. righteous party.

1595. Well, it's way better than the democrats.

1596. I don't disagree screw that at all.

  1597. But

1598. I'm not comparing it to the Democrats. I'm

1599. comparing it to what God's word says, and

1600. you need to know our kingdom then we

1601. seek his kingdom. His righteousness, amen. The kin

1602. of this world is not the kingdom of

  1603. a Christ.

  1604. Amen.

1605. The next thing on the list, which is

  1606. is pursue what.

1607. Faith of the international standard version in the

1608. the net viable T, both translated faithfulness, the

1609. word pissed could be translated faith or faithfulness.

1610. I believe in this context The best translation

1611. is faithfulness, we're supposed to be pursuing

1612. faithfulness, you know, which is a fruit of

1613. the spirit by the way, amen. So as

1614. we pursue Jesus, we pray, we seek him,

1615. we learn God's word. We become more and

1616. more faithful and more and more godly

1617. K. The next word is to pursue what,

1618. love. The Greek word Ag agave there.

  1619. K?

1620. The agave. The the the the sold out

1621. kind of love of god.

1622. And we don't have... I wish we had

1623. times to just get into each of these

1624. words, but we'll will never get out of

1625. first Timothy 6 if we do that. I

1626. do a whole message on every word here,

  1627. but

  1628. A copy.

1629. It's the word that Jesus used in John

    John 3:16

1630. 03:16 when he said for God so wet.

1631. Love the world that he went.

1632. Gave has only beg got son

1633. that whoever believes them shall not Perish but

1634. have ever last life. It's the word that

1635. jesus... That Paul used when he says husband's

  1636. husband's

1637. love your wives are guppy. Right?

1638. The Greek verb there as as Christ love

  1639. the church.

1640. As he gave himself for. And so it's

1641. sac love. God Soul world he gave. So

1642. he's calling us to have that sac

  1643. love.

1644. It's the word that's used for love in

1645. first Corinthians as chapter 13, which describes love

1646. as being sac official and selfless Amen.

1647. So we're supposed to be pursuing

1648. being more Christ like in serving 1 another.

1649. Laying our lives out for another. Amen.

1650. So if I have the mindset, and I

1651. have the mind of Christ that, hey, at

1652. Bless hope Chapel, and any other fellowship I

1653. visit among my brothers and sisters Wherever I

1654. know them, I wanna serve them, I wanna

1655. wash their feet I wanna be like Jesus.

1656. I wanna be a servant of all. Jesus

1657. said if you wanna be great in my

  1658. kingdom.

1659. God's skin king, you gotta be a servant

1660. of all Amen. I wanna at wash, I

  1661. wanna be a servant.

1662. That's why even though I feel like sleeping

1663. right now, I'd rather be here loving you

1664. guys and pour it out. And I could

1665. sleep later. Okay? Our lives should be spent,

1666. loving 1 another. Okay? Now next time, he

1667. he didn't come this time if he must

1668. been really sick. Doesn't have that much loved

1669. love then. No. There's times you just gotta

  1670. be home okay.

1671. So where I'll growing into, you know? And

  1672. that's not very loving if I get everybody's

  1673. sick either. But

1674. you guys, we need to pursue... So if

1675. you're pursuing these things. Right? You don't, have

1676. I've time to pursue riches.

1677. Again, we... Most of us. I mean,

1678. almost all of everybody here works for living

1679. to 1 1 way or another. Right? So,

1680. yeah, we are going to work because we

1681. need put bread on the table. Hey amen

1682. and pair our bills and so forth. But

1683. we don't live for things. We live for

  1684. Jesus.

1685. Seek first it can of God and his

1686. righteousness and all these things will be wet.

1687. Added to attitude you it's it's simple math

1688. guys. It's not that complex.

  1689. It's not that complex.

1690. And then seek what... And then what pursue

  1691. what?

  1692. Pursue what?

  1693. Perseverance.

1694. Thanks said pursue bitterness. I'm like, I know

1695. her She say that. She's like the least

1696. better person. I know. You know,

  1697. Pursue perseverance,

1698. Meaning, when you're doing these things, continue to

1699. pursue the idea is continue to pursue them

1700. and pursue the reality of never giving up

  1701. men.

1702. Hoop men or Hoop Mona is the Greek

1703. word. Hoop Hoop is the word

1704. is to, like, be underneath something and Mona

1705. is from, like men, which means to abide

  1706. to continue

  1707. men.

  1708. It's this... It's a a favorite word of

1709. of John. A favorite word of Jesus when

1710. he talks about how we need to biden

  1711. men in Christ.

  1712. Hoop

1713. or Mona, Mona has to do with enduring

1714. under trial, you continue even under hard times.

  1715. Amen?

1716. In fact, let's look at some scriptures really

1717. quick on that. If you look up at

  1718. the screen,

  1719. you'll see John 15

  1720. we'll start with John 15.

1721. And John 15, many of you know that.

1722. And that's where Jesus said on the vine

  1723. and you're the branches.

  1724. You know?

  1725. And

1726. he says to them in verses 1 and

  1727. 2. He's not J, by the way, in

1728. chapter 13 of John already went to the

  1729. betrayed Jesus.

  1730. Is gone.

1731. And John 15, he warns the arrested of

  1732. the apostles

1733. because you are clean through the word that

1734. have spoken to you. Says on the vine,

  1735. you know,

1736. he says the the father's the vine dresser,

1737. but he says you're the branches.

1738. He says abide me, you'll bear much fruit.

  1739. Amen.

1740. So the word of abide is used over

1741. and over again, rest the Greek word there

  1742. men

1743. related to the word we're looking at here

  1744. at perseverance.

1745. Fact, look at the next

1746. slide, and we see... If you could jump

1747. down in the next slide,

  1748. 15,

  1749. 5 and 6,

1750. Jesus just talks about if they biden it

1751. him, they'll bear much fruit. But says if

1752. they do not abide him what.

1753. They don't remain in him the vine. That's

  1754. attached to the branch,

1755. By the way, he warning fake branches or

1756. is he or is he torn telling him...

1757. He's talking to his who, apostles here. They're

  1758. not fake branches.

  1759. K?

  1760. He's only his 11 apostles, and they're out...

1761. No 1 can dispute that they're saved. There

1762. are chosen apostles. He says he warns them

1763. if they don't abide, they'll dry up

  1764. like branches

1765. that we thrown in the fire and burned.

1766. Amen. That's that Greek word men. Let's look

  1767. at the next scripture.

1768. Jesus says, or or I'm sorry, the author

1769. Hebrews says, for you have need of endurance.

1770. You. We need of what? Endurance though that

  1771. when you

1772. have done the will of god, you may

  1773. what.

1774. Perceive what is promised. So you wanna make

1775. sure you persevere. Amen, and pursue perseverance. Because

1776. if you don't have perseverance, you're not going

  1777. to receive

1778. the end reward or I should say the

1779. end promise, which is... Well, let's go to

  1780. the next 1.

1781. On the next scripture Hebrews 12 1. Therefore

1782. since you, we are surrounded by such a

  1783. great

1784. Therefore since were surrounded by such a great

1785. cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything

  1786. that hinder.

  1787. Right?

1788. And the sin that's so easily ent.

1789. And let us run with what.

1790. You know, If that greek word is,

1791. Hoop, same Greek word that's used in first

    1 Timothy 6 chapter mention

  1792. timothy, chapter 6. Verse 11. That we're supposed

1793. to be pursuing. And then it shows that

1794. Jesus is our is our example. Let us

  1795. run with perseverance,

1796. the race marked out for us, fixing our

  1797. eyes on who.

  1798. Jesus.

  1799. Okay?

1800. And you can go the next slide because

1801. end of verse 3 because I'm right out

1802. of time here, it says at the very

1803. end so that you will not grow what.

1804. Weary and lose heart. Keep your eyes on

  1805. Jesus.

1806. How can I make sure I persevere, Joe,

  1807. how can I persevere

  1808. pursue perseverance

1809. pursue Jesus and don't stop?

1810. And look at him as your example,

1811. And then guess what, then you won't grow

1812. weary and lose heart. You me mean I'll

1813. never get tired. No. He'll grow weary from

1814. time time, but you won't lose heart, ultimately

1815. amen because those who wait on the Lord

1816. and wet. He though... The Lord will renew

  1817. their strength. Amen.

1818. And and and it's just awesome. Look at

  1819. the next 1, Hebrews chapter 10 versus 38

    Hebrews 10 chapter mention

  1820. and 39.

1821. Says now the just shall live by faith.

1822. That's those who are justified. Those who've been

1823. raped right with by Christ's blood. Amen? Are

1824. you justified? That's he was talking about. The

1825. judge shall live by faith. Not just come

1826. to Christ by faith, but live by faith,

  1827. but if,

  1828. big word there.

  1829. If

1830. he draws back, who? The justified 1.

  1831. If the 1 who's been justified.

1832. If he, that's the earliest only time, I

1833. the justified right here, But if he draws

1834. back my soul will have no pleasure in

1835. him. But we are not of those who

1836. we're not of those. There are those who

1837. do. We're not of those who draw back

  1838. to tradition like J.

1839. Some do drive back to tradition, but of

  1840. what, those who what,

  1841. believe to the what,

1842. saving of the soul final salvation. Amen?

1843. So we need to hold fast to the

  1844. faith.

  1845. And

1846. he's confident that these hebrew believers will make

  1847. it.

  1848. Why?

1849. Because right before this, he says, you lost

1850. your homes, you know, some of them, you

1851. visit the prisons, you lost homes, but you

1852. know you have a some of you of

1853. lost, you have an a abiding hope in

  1854. heaven.

1855. So they persevere a long way.

1856. But at... But they're... At the same time

1857. he recognize recognizes also what. Those

1858. who did draw back to prediction. So both

  1859. realities are true.

1860. Jesus hot said in Matthew 05:13. If salt...

    Matthew 5:13

1861. He says yours a salt through the earth,

1862. but if a salt used loses its flavor,

  1863. what's it good for?

1864. Good for the done pile be tram under

  1865. foot. Right?

1866. He said in Luke chapter 9 verse 62,

    Luke 9:62

1867. no 1 who after putting his hand in

1868. the plow and looking back is fit for

1869. the king of God. And last week, I

1870. dealt with Lost wife and Jesus weren't his

1871. apostles. His disciples. Remember lot's wife.

1872. So this all ties into the parable of

  1873. the solar

1874. because remember it was the fourth soil,

1875. the good and honest, hearted people,

  1876. These are people that

1877. humble themselves for lord recognizing they have no

  1878. merit of themselves

1879. and says they hold fast to those seed.

1880. Right? The seed is a word. Right? They

  1881. hold fast the seed.

  1882. They don't give in.

  1883. They persevere.

1884. And they bring forth fruit with perseverance. It

1885. says, that's gotta be us, guys.

1886. That's what we have to choose to do.

1887. In fact, look at first, John chapter 3.

    John 3 chapter mention

  1888. First 9.

1889. This is powerful. You won't see this a

1890. lot of churches because people don't wanna preach,

1891. but there it is, man, The 1 who

1892. practices sin is of the devil

1893. because the devil has been sitting from the

  1894. very start.

1895. This is why the son of God was

  1896. revealed to what,

1897. destroy the works of the devil. Isn't that

  1898. right?

1899. Anyone born of God in the Greek word,

1900. by the way in the Greek it's in

  1901. the perfect tense.

1902. Born of God. It means anyone who is

1903. born of God and continues to stand born

1904. of god could remains born of God.

1905. Anyone who is born of God continues he's

1906. a stand born of God. Perfect tense.

1907. Refuses to practice sin because god's wet.

1908. God's seed. There it is. What's the seed?

  1909. It's a word of God

1910. because God's seed, his word abide in him,

1911. meadows in him. He can't go on city

1912. because he has been born of God. He

1913. continues. He's born of god. He continues to

  1914. be born of God.

1915. It doesn't say he this more of God

1916. never commits As, doesn't it.

1917. But it's talking about track what a sin.

1918. John says sin is trans

1919. of the law. Rebellion against God's law. So

1920. if you're practicing sin, that means you're living

  1921. and rebellion to God

1922. because you'll look at this anyway, I'm not

1923. perfect. No. Nobody's. Here perfect.

1924. And John says at first John 2 1

  1925. if anyone sins,

1926. you know, Write these things that you send

  1927. not.

1928. But if anyone does Cindy has advocate with

1929. father Jesus Christ at the right to amen,

1930. and John is a first John 2919.

1931. If we confess our since he's faithful and

  1932. what, just to what.

1933. Forgive us our sins and cleanse from all

1934. the righteous the same amen. So if you

1935. fall short, you go to Lord. Right? But

1936. you, don't live in rebellion.

  1937. To God. Amen.

1938. First John chapter 2, verse 24 says let

    1 John 2:24

1939. that remain in you, what you heard from

  1940. the beginning.

1941. That's the seed, guys, the gospel, the word.

  1942. First John 02:24.

    1 John 2:24

1943. Let that remain in you, men. There is

  1944. again.

1945. Remaining you what you heard for the beginning

  1946. of the gospel.

1947. And then he says, and you receive

  1948. the promise.

1949. It says let thought remaining you what you

1950. heard for forgetting and you receive the promise,

1951. eternal life. He says, and you will remain

1952. in the father and then the son, because

1953. you'll be a abide in them, you receive

1954. the promise, eternal life. These things have written

1955. concerning those who trying to seduce you meaning

1956. those people, trying to deceive you, do not

1957. leave the word of God. Amen. And I'll

1958. just close by saying the last thing he

  1959. mentions in verse 11,

1960. We went a little bit late. I wanna

1961. make sure I get this done. In verse

  1962. 11,

  1963. he says pursue what.

1964. Patience. And that greek word for patience there

  1965. is related to pros,

1966. and that's the word where Jesus says the

1967. meek will inherit the earth.

1968. K? We're supposed to be or gentleness,

1969. pursue gentleness Is... I'm sorry, it's not patients

  1970. there. It's gentleness.

1971. And you could transit meekness, but meekness does

  1972. not mean weakness.

  1973. K.

1974. In fact, the word that Jesus or that

1975. Paul uses there, and the word that Jesus

1976. also uses, which is related to this word

  1977. refers to being calm,

  1978. during

  1979. confusion,

1980. commotion, hard times. That takes a strong person.

1981. In fact, the root of that word that

1982. Paul uses there that's translated meekness is used

1983. for Alexander, the great horse.

  1984. Which has been broken.

  1985. It's humble It's submitted to

  1986. Alexander the great,

  1987. but it's a strong and powerful horse. That's

1988. common in times of war.

1989. That's what we're calling to be for Jesus

1990. amen. Don't freak out when everything freaking out

1991. around. You everybody else is say, I'm gonna

1992. say calm because Jesus is king. Amen.

1993. He is my Lord. He's gonna get me
