  1. Praise, we're gonna miss you guys.

  2. But a lot of I don't people visit

  3. lot. So hopefully so we'll see you guys

  4. visiting.

  5. I visited over there. I got church family

  6. over there with my brother's brother sisters in

  7. and

  8. flesh and blood, which is also Church family

  9. over there, and I'll probably be there at

  10. the end of the year a little bit.

  11. You guys should waited until after July.

  12. I just did doctor to Joe Pi, he

  13. goes, it's been a hundred and 4 for

  14. a months straight.

  15. Eat hot. But it cools off. You know,

  16. It'll little cool off. So when we're still

  17. hot, that'll get cool over there.

  18. So load is good. Amen.

  19. Alright.

  20. First Timothy,

    1 Timothy 6 chapter mention

  21. chapter 6.

  22. The name of this message is 3 great

  23. reasons

  24. to praise the Lord.

  25. 3 huge reasons

  26. or great reasons to praise the Lord,

  27. and

  28. We've got a few more studies or so,

  29. 3 or 4 more studies, then we're done

  30. with First Timothy,

  31. Lord Willing. I'm gonna say, I think so.

  32. We'll see what happens.

  33. But what is the amazing book we have

  34. here.

  35. And in first Timothy, chapter 6, we're gonna

    1 Timothy 6 chapter mention

  36. be covering versus... Week... We've looked at 13

  37. and a little verse 12, and

  38. in some depth last week, and then we

  39. looked at verse 13 a little bit,

  40. and even jumped into, you know,

  41. 13 and then even in 14 a little

  42. bit as well. But I didn't... There was

  43. a lot of meat on the bone that

  44. I left, which I want to go over

  45. with you guys. And

  46. go in more depth, and then we'll cover

  47. more of a solid weight to verse 16.

  48. Lord willing.

  49. And me, Obeying, if it's as well that

  50. we get through that all,

  51. but verse 12, and I won't say a

  52. whole lot about verse 12, but it'll come

  53. up a couple times,

  54. but this is this amazing verse,

  55. fight the good fight of faith.

  56. Let take hold of eternal life,

  57. which you were called,

  58. to which you were called.

  59. And you made a good confession in the

  60. presence of many witnesses. Is of course, the

  61. apostle Paul is ready to the young pastor

  62. Timothy,

  63. and he's encouraging him to fight the good

  64. fight of faith Ae gh is a Greek

  65. word. So where we get ago from, and

  66. I'm not gonna go through everything we talked

  67. about last week if you didn't catch that

  68. that message wanna see what it means to

  69. fight the good fight of faith. That would

  70. help you because,

  71. that was a message that ties into this

  72. message. And you'll find out more about fighting

  73. the good fight of faith Now even though

  74. we looked at this verse,

  75. it would... You know, I'd be remiss if

  76. I didn't read it again and talk about

  77. it because otherwise you're not gonna get the

  78. context of the verses that come up, because

  79. it's a unit of thought. So Paul is

  80. challenging Timothy,

  81. charging Timothy. Fight the good fight of faith.

  82. It's not just fighting for the sake of

  83. fighting.

  84. It's fighting for the sake. It's fighting for

  85. your faith. Amen. Your personal faith in Lord

  86. Jesus Christ. Fighting for the faith, the body

  87. of Christian doctrine,

  88. and it's a fight.

  89. Ago is related to the word ae there.

  90. Ago.

  91. Ago for the truth.

  92. And if you are not ago agonizing for

  93. the truth and ago agonizing to stay head

  94. steadfast in your faith. You will peter out.

  95. You'll be a casualty of spiritual war eventually.

  96. It's not about it is very important to

  97. put on the full arm of God a

  98. amen that you may be able to stand

  99. in the evil day.

  100. Amen. But when you put on the full

  101. arm god understand, there's gonna be some agonizing

  102. going on. There's be agonizing times in your

  103. life when your flesh wants you to have...

  104. Wants to have victory over you.

  105. When the world, the flesh in the devil,

  106. your 3 main enemies. They're always... We're always

  107. at war with the world system, the the

  108. lies that are from the pit of hell.

  109. You ever noticed the media, especially the mainstream

  110. media is just constantly promoting lies.

  111. And it's all like, almost like they're locks

  112. stepped together,

  113. and you just scratch your head, and it's

  114. like, the world doesn't really What's going on.

  115. Because most of the world's just to see

  116. by. They don't know it. Yeah. You know?

  117. But it's just so clear to us.

  118. And it's like they all get their marching

  119. orders from the same demonic realm. They do

  120. for the most part.

  121. And you can get frustrated or you can

  122. say, you know what? I need fight the

  123. good fight. I remember why I'm here. I'm

  124. here to stand it for the Gospel Jesus

  125. Christ.

  126. I'm praying Hall would be thy name. The

  127. Thy kingdom come By will be done. And

  128. I know he's gonna resolve it all with

  129. his reign. Amen. So I don't lose heart.

  130. So I fight the good fight of faith

  131. for the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  132. Your personal faith in him.

  133. Amen? Enemy attacks you say Lord, I trust

  134. help me to keep trusting. Help my trust

  135. to grow. Help my trust not to wan.

  136. When you're the enemy attacks sound doctrine,

  137. the the the body of truth that you

  138. see in you read scripture, you know, budget

  139. inch. Amen.

  140. When you have post modern is attacking the

  141. bible. We have liberal professors attacking god's word

  142. And and say, no, no. We... Yeah. Yeah.

  143. I believe the Bible, but it accepts, you

  144. know, gay marriage and gay pastors and we

  145. we need to be accepting of all this,

  146. and and, you know, and and it's okay

  147. to kill little baby in the womb, because,

  148. you know, we don't even know when they

  149. really are alive. So it's okay. When you

  150. start hearing those lies, you need to fight

  151. for the truth.

  152. But

  153. those truths, while those are important

  154. applications of truth in and the scripture, You

  155. need to take a stand for the fact

  156. that Jesus is God. Amen. That was born

  157. of a virgin that God the father through

  158. Christ is a creator of all things, Amen.

  159. That Christ rose again on the third day

  160. that were saved by grace through faith and

  161. not through keeping the law of Moses. Amen,

  162. and that Jesus was not only born of

  163. a virgin, but he was born

  164. as a as a man, as the God

  165. man. A real man. Man, not just an

  166. app operation,

  167. but he wasn't born from Joseph Mary.

  168. Joseph was his

  169. step father so to speak. Okay? His adopted

  170. father. He was conceived by the holy spirit

  171. through the work of the the father in

  172. heaven. So we have to stand on these

  173. cardinal truths. That the bible is the word

  174. of God that there is an eternal hell.

  175. You know? We don't wanna compromise on biblical

  176. truths. So we have to stand for the

  177. faith And it says to take hold of

  178. eternal life.

  179. The eternal life is something and it's really

  180. someone. Jesus is the way the truth and

  181. the life. He said I am the resurrection.

  182. And the life. First, John chapter 5, the

    John 5 chapter mention

  183. very end of the chapter their first John

    1 John 1 chapter mention

  184. chapter 1 the first few verses that he

  185. is our eternal life.

  186. So we relate... We have eternal life through

  187. him.

  188. He has a son has the

  189. life. He would not have a son does

  190. not have the life. He's a life give

  191. me vine and we have life as branches

  192. who are attached to him through faith. Amen.

  193. So we fight the good fight of faith

  194. It's a good fight. Praise God because there's

  195. a lot of bad fights.

  196. But there's a he a fight in the

  197. good fight, take hold of eternal life to

  198. which you were called talked about what it

  199. means to be called last week, and you

  200. made a good confession.

  201. Tiffany made a good

  202. confession in the presence of many witnesses.

  203. And we can't be dogma mad and say,

  204. it was here there or this place where

  205. he made that great confession.

  206. Because it could have been a few different

  207. circumstances

  208. that paul referring in a few different times

  209. his life. The most likely place is his

  210. good confession was when he confessed his faith

  211. public because it says, In the presence of

  212. many witnesses was perhaps at his baptism.

  213. Okay? That's where we just... The Sunday before

  214. I preached that message on 06:12,

  215. We just had a baptism where a number

  216. of people made a good confession before many,

  217. many witnesses.

  218. And he wants him to hold on to

  219. that good confession wherever first made it publicly.

  220. And to fight the good fight and hold

  221. on. He says, hold on, take hold of

  222. eternal life. We looked at various verses that

  223. talk about holding on to the confession. Holding

  224. on to the life holding on to Christ.

  225. But it gives him reasons to persevere in

  226. his faith We looked at some of them

  227. last week

  228. looks like at verse 13 now. I charge

  229. you, he says, I charge you.

  230. This is Paul the apostle.

  231. Charging

  232. young Timothy

  233. in the presence, check this out. In the

  234. presence of 2 witnesses

  235. Woo, you talk about 2 witnesses. You can't

  236. get 2 greater witnesses than he he has

  237. right here. He's charging Timothy the presence of

  238. God.

  239. Who gives life to all things and of

  240. who,

  241. Christ Jesus.

  242. So he's charging him. This a charge, Timothy,

  243. in the presence of God,

  244. the being of God the father, and of

  245. the Lord, Jesus Christ.

  246. And it's interesting because it's a solemn charge.

  247. He's giving Timothy AAA

  248. strong a responsibility

  249. And by the way, you'll see that this

  250. word charges is use of Timothy to Timothy,

  251. but Paul tells Timothy to charge us,

  252. believers. Believers at ethic

  253. Not just them, but all of us, because

  254. in second Timothy chapter 2 verse 2, that

    2 Timothy 2:2

  255. great disciples at passage, Paul says to Timothy

  256. what I've commanded you, you command to other

  257. good men

  258. that they may command others. Right?

  259. So the truth was supposed to be passed

  260. down. Just as Jesus told his apostles.

  261. To go teaching throughout all the nations making

  262. staples all nations commanding them what, Teaching them

  263. to observe all things I've commanded you.

  264. That's how the gospel will spread throughout the

  265. world.

  266. Jesus is the master builder. So Paul is

  267. charging Timothy in the presence of God. Now

  268. this gets his attention, man.

  269. This gets his attention because it's like,

  270. Timothy, I'm calling God the father.

  271. God the son,

  272. there witnesses

  273. before you at this for a moment

  274. to

  275. discharge

  276. or to follow the charge and your responsibility

  277. here.

  278. The word charged in the Greek is pair

  279. par Para.

  280. Okay?

  281. I'm sorry. It's Par gallo. Okay? If you're

  282. write it down to be PARAGELL0

  283. in a trans,

  284. par gallo,

  285. It's often used of a as a military

  286. command, this Greek word. So we see Par

  287. gallo in the Greek, you'll see it different

  288. ways, but it's often in military context, and

  289. I think because Timothy just was just told

  290. by Paul too wet, Fight the good fight.

  291. Right?

  292. That he's using it as, you know, hey,

  293. Timothy

  294. as

  295. the general that Paul is the apostle.

  296. In the presence of

  297. the commander in chief,

  298. not Joe Biden, or Ka kamala harris whoever

  299. it is right now. It's probably neither them.

  300. But not in the presence of them, but

  301. the commander but by the commander and chief

  302. god himself. Amen. God the father, God the

  303. son.

  304. By the way, that word, it's also used

  305. of, in the context of what would be,

  306. like, a modern subpoena

  307. today, that if somebody

  308. disregard a subpoena, they'd be in great liability

  309. to the courts,

  310. end up prison.

  311. It's used by Aristotle,

  312. even before this was written, of course, Aristotle

  313. came before the first century of a physician

  314. who prescribe to a a patient, and the

  315. patient is obliged to, you know, follow that

  316. prescription or

  317. fulfill his duty to take the medicine otherwise,

  318. he will die.

  319. So it's used often

  320. in an court... An

  321. sense.

  322. And here, it's used of Timothy from Paul

  323. who's charging him to fight the good fight

  324. of faith. To lay hold on eternal life.

  325. And it's interesting,

  326. pro Para gallo is used 5 times

  327. in first Timothy

  328. that that was interesting.

  329. It's issues at first Timothy 1 3 where

  330. Timothy says that he charges,

  331. Paul tells Timothy to charge certain men not

  332. to teach strange doctrines. At first timothy 04:11

    1 Timothy 4:11

  333. to charge and teach these things in first

  334. Timothy 5 7, to charge or command these

  335. things as well so that they will be

  336. a above approach.

  337. In first, Timothy 05:13 right here, I charge

  338. you in the presence of God and so

  339. forth. And first timothy these 06:17 is the

  340. few versus later. I charge or instruct those

  341. who are rich in this present world, not

  342. to be conceded where to fix their hope

  343. on the uncertainty of riches, but on god

  344. who rich ritual supplies us with all things

  345. to enjoy.

  346. So 5 times he use it, But a

  347. number of times he tells Timothy you used

  348. you charge them,

  349. and Paul and Timothy is a young pastor.

  350. And it's important to understand. If you're wondering

  351. sometimes when I'm preaching,

  352. how come I'm not just wimp up here

  353. and just suggest maybe we should do this.

  354. And I tell you what god calls do

  355. because if I wanna be a good steward

  356. of God's word. If I wanna be a

  357. good pastor, you know, I'm told as a

  358. pastor to that no 1 despise me. Read

  359. that in first Timothy, thing read that to

  360. titus and so forth. It despise what I'm

  361. doing what I'm teaching in the word, The

  362. word of this is the word of God.

  363. I mentioned to you that there's about a

  364. hundred and 8 versus or so in

  365. in James,

  366. 5 chapters,

  367. but there's about 59

  368. commands,

  369. 59

  370. commands.

  371. Once sister came up to me said, how

  372. many commands did you say, are in James,

  373. and I said 59 and she said, I'm

  374. excited about that. I wanna hear what God

  375. commands me to do. How he commands me

  376. to live. That bless my heart. You know?

  377. That bless my heart. That was that was

  378. actually c.

  379. You know? And she was... And I bless

  380. my heart because she was like, hey, I

  381. wanna hear what God's word has to say

  382. to me. And I love that when I

  383. see people that fear and love the lord,

  384. of course. I know Carol loves and fears

  385. the lord. But just need to hear expressed

  386. that. Some people... I'm just being honest. When

  387. I read their... When I let you know,

  388. there's 59 commands in James. Some people are

  389. like, where's the door.

  390. Because I'm here just have a good time

  391. or just to get my fire insurance by

  392. just showing up, don't get fire insurance. Man

  393. I need to have relationship with the Lord

  394. of Jesus Christ. That's the only way you

  395. have true, you know, eternal fire assurances is

  396. through him. But you have to be true

  397. to him. Amen. And Jesus said, in John

  398. 14, I think around there was 15, if

  399. you love me. Right?

  400. Obey my commandments.

  401. And so if we love him, we're going

  402. to obey his commands.

  403. So para para, a great word there.

  404. That Paul uses. Now, it's in the presence

  405. of god. Man, in the presence of God.

  406. Literally, it means

  407. to be positioned in the front of the

  408. almighty God.

  409. Mean, I'm charging you

  410. and you're position Timothy,

  411. as I'm charging you is in the presence

  412. of the face of the almighty God, and

  413. the Lord Jesus Christ.

  414. So that is so heavy.

  415. If... And he's saying, I'm I'm telling you

  416. that a commander chiefs there and and Paul's

  417. is reminding it because even though I may

  418. not be around where you're at Timothy because

  419. you're struggling with these false teachers at Ethic

  420. where he in the first few first of

  421. Timothy Paul deals with these guys. And that

  422. Timothy is supposed to preach the word and

  423. second timothy, in season out of season no

  424. matter what these guys are teaching how many

  425. people's ears that they're tick that you need

  426. to still preach the word.

  427. Not back off from it, Timothy.

  428. Timothy had

  429. perhaps because he's young,

  430. and maybe some problems with timid,

  431. you know,

  432. Paul had struggled with Mark.

  433. Mark for took him on a missionary

  434. trip. He found a... You know, and he

  435. got it really upset. There was a just

  436. sharp dispute even I mean, Art I should

  437. say,

  438. it caused some problems.

  439. Later on, he found that Mark was useful.

  440. You know, Barn is encouraging, you know? And

  441. he found out... And he later says him

  442. in 1 of the Timothy, that second timothy

  443. found that Mark was was actually useful to

  444. him. Timothy young. At 1 point, Paul will

  445. say everyone's for forsaken me. He he talks

  446. about even D, who the scripture say was

  447. a servant of the Lord has for forsaken

  448. me having loved this present world.

  449. God, you have to be dedicated. So Paul,

  450. I believe is because of...

  451. Keep in mind. It's not so easy to

  452. be a Christian and Paul's circumstances,

  453. Timothy

  454. Right? Marx, D and so forth. Demi had

  455. the lumen of the world, but Paul had

  456. the. It's not that there was a persecution

  457. as well. Sometimes there's things, but Paul, it

  458. tells Timothy and Second Timothy 1 7

  459. that God has not given us a spirit

  460. of fear, but of power and of love

  461. out of a sound mind. Amen?

  462. So he is concerned that Timothy could fear

  463. the false teachers

  464. that Timothy could fear,

  465. the persecution that could arise. That Timothy could

  466. succumb to the s deductions of the world.

  467. The s deductions say he's struggling as a

  468. young pastor to make ends meet to to

  469. to, you know, suck up to the world

  470. and and and Rebel against his calling. And

  471. Paul knew that god had placed a call

  472. on Timothy life.

  473. Paul knew how serious it would be to

  474. turn from that call. That's why Paul is

  475. woe to me if I don't preach the

  476. gospel. Amen. So he's telling Timothy,

  477. that he's used to fight the good fight.

  478. He said, lay hold on eternal life. Amen.

  479. He's supposed to remember that he gets this

  480. charge and the presence of almighty God.

  481. Gets this charge in the presence of the

  482. Lord, Jesus Christ.

  483. And we need to keep that in mind

  484. you guys.

  485. Because Timothy to remember when he's serving the

  486. Lord, there at ethic and things get hot,

  487. that God is witnessing him. That God is

  488. watching every move and every thought he has.

  489. Right? And we need to do that as

  490. well. As believers, amen?

  491. Wherever you're at, man, you need to recognize

  492. God is there.

  493. And if if you're seeking him and you

  494. love him praise lord your his child.

  495. If you're rebellion to him,

  496. you're in huge trouble,

  497. you do not wanna be in rebellion to

  498. God.

  499. That's the scripture say in that context, Bible

  500. says to you know, worship him. Right? And

  501. and in reverence and and fear for our

  502. God is a consuming fire.

  503. We need to make sure that we are

  504. right with God. And it's interesting. What does

  505. he say next?

  506. What does you say next? He says, who

  507. gives life to all things. Amen? Sir

  508. So Timothy is being charged the prince of

  509. God, the father, God the son as well.

  510. Their witnesses

  511. It's pretty solemn. What Paul's is doing there.

  512. But he but now he encourages him

  513. that he gives life to all things, Amen.

  514. He's making He's letting Timothy know, God gives

  515. you life, Timothy. In fact, he gives life

  516. to all things. And that's encouraging because Timothy

  517. is supposed to remember

  518. who it is it gives life.

  519. When the attic antichrist were shipped in the

  520. end times,

  521. people say who can make where with him.

  522. Right?

  523. Hit we lo enough heads left and right.

  524. It'll be important at that time to remember

  525. that God gives life to all things.

  526. Oh, wait a minute. Man?

  527. You know, they'll breathe life into an image

  528. of the beast.

  529. Maybe it's

  530. Ai, you know?

  531. And then Chris will maybe have a promise

  532. of giving life too.

  533. In this mark, man, look, man, we're in

  534. this kingdom we can buy ourselves, no, man.

  535. Know, that christ so live for he don't

  536. even rain for 42 months. Right?

  537. And then you're destroyed who follow them, even

  538. before that you get a g sore

  539. buying is selling. Now you got this really

  540. painful

  541. or grow test disease,

  542. and you yank ain't can last very long.

  543. But God is the 1 who gives life

  544. to all things.

  545. And this is important because Emperor worship was

  546. rife at Ethic where Timothy was at.

  547. It's important to understand bible background to a

  548. degree when you're going through the text of

  549. scripture, and

  550. it was dangerous at certain times in certain

  551. provinces in certain cities

  552. in the roman empire to

  553. you know,

  554. give credence to

  555. another God that you consider supreme to the

  556. Emperor

  557. or to Caesar,

  558. who would be the emperor who's... And he

  559. was worship everywhere. Yes.

  560. Az zeus was considered the highest god, but

  561. he was personified often

  562. the Caesars were considered, you know, under the

  563. divine right, whether it was a Roman Caesar

  564. or the the Greek leader

  565. with Romans, you know, they had They they

  566. they just switched the names of their god's

  567. off and so forth. But Caesar, that was

  568. the 1 that you had to fear, and

  569. I've told you before.

  570. Last time, He's talking about the good confession

  571. that Timothy made. Right?

  572. And I'm telling you right now.

  573. And I tried to try to keep keep

  574. your brain around this when you read the

  575. holy scripture

  576. that when the bible talks about confessing Jesus

  577. Lord,

  578. people just didn't go around easily saint, Jesus

  579. Lord, because you could lose your head.

  580. The bible says in Romans chapter 10 versus

    Romans 10 chapter mention

  581. 9 and 10. If we confess the Lord

  582. Jesus, Christ with our mouths.

  583. And we believe in our hearts that God

  584. raised for the dead, we will be saved.

  585. When you're confessing Jesus Christ as your Lord,

  586. you confess him as Lord with your mouth.

  587. You're cove confessing him Lord means master.

  588. You're saying he is my master.

  589. And you're saying I'm following him. No matter

  590. what he says, And if it contradicts what

  591. Caesar says, and what the roman government says,

  592. I'm doing what Jesus says, amen.

  593. And the room say, no nope, you can't

  594. come in here and preach the gospel here.

  595. Let's whip these guys, and Peter says better

  596. obey God than men.

  597. Jewish and Roman persecution throughout the book of

  598. acts.

  599. You know, but all the disciples for the

  600. most part, were Jewish, believers

  601. who were confessing Jesus as a messiah. And

  602. I mentioned, it's... It was treason

  603. at times.

  604. Many of the Roman soldiers

  605. could lose their lives as a roman soldier,

  606. you'd have to burn since to caesar, but

  607. as a Christian, you couldn't do that.

  608. You'd have to either,

  609. you know, they'd have to look the other

  610. way because you're not doing it or you

  611. can lose your head

  612. or you just You know, it was it

  613. was really tough

  614. and out have time to get into it,

  615. but I think it's important in this context.

  616. When I look at this, It's very powerful,

  617. especially with regard to certain we're gonna read

  618. to keep this in mind.

  619. And I want you to right now keep

  620. it in mind for your own life. Because

  621. the time may come,

  622. where you are told that you cannot talk

  623. about Jesus. You cannot confess him as your

  624. lord.

  625. It's in that country in many countries right

  626. now. Can't go around telling people about Jesus.

  627. I've tried to tell you before New Zealand,

  628. Australia, United States America.

  629. These are like, you know, anomalies.

  630. These are countries that haven't had Christian persecution.

  631. You go out through most countries in the

  632. world where that Christian Gospel is there's been

  633. a lot of persecution or some excuse to

  634. 1 degree or another.

  635. So I've tried to prepare you because I

  636. know what the scriptures say about how all

  637. the nations

  638. will worship the beast it says every nation

  639. people and tongue will worship him, and that

  640. may or may not happen our lifetime. But

  641. I want you to be ready, and I

  642. want to make your children ready because it's

  643. gonna happen in someone's lifetime.

  644. Hey, amen, it's coming.

  645. But guess what? Whether it happens on lifetime

  646. or or not. We didn't make sure Jesus

  647. is truly our lord right now.

  648. Because how many Christians have been killed, put

  649. to death or persecuted

  650. because name of Jesus prior to this time

  651. long before the antichrist came, it's happened all

  652. over the place.

  653. But you can get lazy and say yeah,

  654. Confess jesus Lord. But guess what? Because you're

  655. in an a affluent world where there's not

  656. a lot of persecution, we have to be

  657. very, very careful of a fluent.

  658. And temptation

  659. And that's 1 thing that Paul deals with

  660. Timothy in regard to

  661. temptation, which is couple versus previously

  662. that we've already looked at a little bit,

  663. but they're gonna play into the verses that

  664. we're talking about coming up as well because

  665. what did Paul say?

  666. Titus 01:16.

    Titus 1:16

  667. Remember this? Finish it with me if you're

  668. remembered. Paul says of these people that aren't

  669. really following Jesus. He says, they profess to

  670. know him, but what?

  671. Denying by their works.

  672. They deny him.

  673. So you can deny Christ more than just

  674. by just saying, I don't believe in Jesus.

  675. You wanna confess him

  676. And you know what? That's why it's important

  677. to pray and crowd to god

  678. and and seek the father

  679. because it says no 1 can say Jesus

  680. Lord, but by the holy spirit, amen.

  681. So it's holy spirit it inspires us to

  682. say that Jesus Lord, amen.

  683. And if you can sincerely say Jesus is

  684. Lord, and mean it from your heart. That's

  685. by the holy spirit. Have confidence in that.

  686. That's what the scriptures say.

  687. That's exciting, amen. You want some assurance to

  688. salvation. Just say with sincerely yes, Jesus is

  689. Lord. That he's your Lord.

  690. This holy spirit that gives us function that

  691. gives us empowerment that gives us the power

  692. to confess Christ's name and that's why it's

  693. important to cold fast to your confession and

  694. never turn back.

  695. Now, he gives life to all things. The

  696. word life there,

  697. is it's it's a couple words there in

  698. the Greek of compound words. It's it's a

  699. zoo.

  700. K?

  701. Zoo.

  702. And that means Zoo, we eat the word

  703. Zoo from that word... That first word, Zoo,

  704. you know, creatures,

  705. all all these creatures, Zoo Ag,

  706. life, living,

  707. He gives life to all the creatures, all

  708. things. He's telling Timothy, god is the 1

  709. that gives life. Don't freak out. Don't fear

  710. He's the 1 that gives life.

  711. If you lose your life, Timothy in your

  712. ministry,

  713. God is able to raise you back up

  714. again.

  715. Amen.

  716. There's what we call the resurrection of the

  717. just. I have a,

  718. a neat quote from a

  719. a great west comment, Adam Clark said this.

  720. God, who is a fountain of life

  721. and who is the resurrection

  722. and who will raise the up at the

  723. last day to a life of in glory

  724. if thou be faithful in the death,

  725. and should thy life fall a sacrifice to

  726. the performance of thy duty?

  727. All will be safe

  728. for thy life is hid with Christ in

  729. God.

  730. Yeah. That's from cl. And when he is

  731. thy life shall appear, then

  732. shall... Thou also appear with him in glory.

  733. That's just beautiful. So keep my God is

  734. the 1 that gives life, and we're gonna

  735. be resurrected. That's good news. Amen. Look at

  736. chapter 6 verse 13, the next part.

  737. He says Not only is god the father

  738. of the witness, but we've talked about this

  739. briefly as well, and of Christ Jesus. He's

  740. a witness, Timothy,

  741. who what?

  742. Testified the good confession confession before who

  743. punches pilot. We talked about this last week

  744. a little bit. So he's telling Timothy

  745. Endure, persevere in your faith, fight the good

  746. fight of faith, they journal life, it gives

  747. them incentives as to why.

  748. Remember you're confession before many witnesses, and I

  749. I charge you guys in the name of

  750. the Lord Jesus Christ. And in the president

  751. of the father,

  752. remember your confession that you have made publicly

  753. before others.

  754. That Jesus Christ your Lord. Amen.

  755. And be thankful that you able to make

  756. that confession, and you've made that confession and

  757. continue to make it. But don't just think

  758. about that confession and praise God for that

  759. confession, but you made a confession. Do not

  760. tarnish the name of Jesus.

  761. Do not cause gentile towels or pagan to

  762. spit on the name of Jesus.

  763. Because of your reno of Christ or because

  764. of wicked behavior amen.

  765. Don't bring bla upon his name. That's... It's

  766. a fearful thing to fall in the hands

  767. of the mighty God. Almighty got he's consuming

  768. fire, but I also keep this in mind.

  769. Remember the confession that Jesus made before pilot.

  770. And I mentioned to you last week that

  771. Jesus said he could have called 12 legions

  772. of angels to told them right? Called 12

  773. legions of angels. Right now,

  774. He didn't have to go to the cross.

  775. He could've have said to the father and

  776. the internal counsel and the eternity past.

  777. Father son Holy spirit that, you know,

  778. when I say could have this is, you

  779. know, hypothetical because that's was the heart of

  780. God. So in a sense, no. Because God

  781. is love. But he did have it prerogative

  782. because we also believe he's free amen. And

  783. we don't believe he died for us by

  784. way of necessity

  785. as far as something that was necessary in

  786. his own being

  787. because... Well, wait a minute. Because he's love,

  788. and he and he loves He's so much.

  789. He well, guess what. But, you know, he

  790. created us, So he's gonna wanna redeem us,

  791. but he never had... He didn't have to

  792. create us. Amen.

  793. He could've created a bunch of robots Came

  794. amen.

  795. So he never

  796. had to die for. The only time he

  797. has to die for us is when... I

  798. mean, when he becomes a man,

  799. Now he's gotta fulfill the scriptures and he

  800. says, the son man what must be lifted

  801. up. Just like you must be born again.

  802. If where to be saved, he's gonna have

  803. to be lifted up. A amen?

  804. He's gonna have to die if he wants

  805. to save us, and you're gonna have be

  806. born again. Amen. So... But in the presence

  807. of I love this.

  808. I love this.

  809. And of Christ Jesus who testified the good

  810. confession Jesus gave a good confession before po

  811. pilot. They were good their carlos

  812. He translated in different ways, noble confession, good

  813. confession. 1 translation has fearless witnessed to the

  814. truth. Another translation gave me fearless testimony.

  815. And that's coming of course, from John 18

  816. 37 when pilot says, you are king then,

  817. said pilot.

  818. She's answered

  819. You say that I'm a king.

  820. In fact, the reason I was born and

  821. came into the world is the testify of

  822. the truth.

  823. Everyone who sides with the truth listens to

  824. me. Yes. It's pilot on the game.

  825. That's a good confession. This is a crazy

  826. thing

  827. My point is is that God never had

  828. to become a man. He didn't have to

  829. give this confession.

  830. He did it for us.

  831. Not for himself. It's for his glory ultimately,

  832. but it's for you're good. Amen. He'd be

  833. glorified with you or without you, amen. He

  834. doesn't need us.

  835. But guess what we need. We need him.

  836. Amen. And we don't have him if we

  837. don't hold on... If we don't fight a

  838. good fight and hold on to eternal life.

  839. If we don't hold on to our confession.

  840. If we don't continue to make a good

  841. confession. So we look to Jesus.

  842. What was Jesus confession that he's the king.

  843. Amen?

  844. Well, it's our confession the same that Jesus

  845. is a king. That's our confession. Amen. So

  846. hold faster confession.

  847. Let's be an on fire church. Amen.

  848. In the last days, when everybody... When so

  849. many are becoming pans these, you know, and

  850. and just, you know, just going just

  851. sticking their finger there and I'm going with

  852. whatever the world's is going. Don't do it.

  853. Don't do it. Don't go that route. Guys,

  854. You'll regret it. Big time.

  855. Wow.

  856. So he says I charge you in the

  857. presence of God. Right? Presence of Jesus as

  858. well. What's the charge?

  859. What's he charging him? We should know what

  860. the charges is? Shouldn't we?

  861. Well, look at here's charge verse 14?

  862. That you keep the command

  863. without staying

  864. that you keep

  865. not that you just do the command at

  866. 1 time. But you keep the command

  867. without stain or rep approach

  868. until what?

  869. The appearing of our lord Jesus Christ.

  870. So the the the charge...

  871. The military charge for Timothy that he's supposed

  872. to give us is that he keeps a

  873. command without staying. K?

  874. Without rep approach until

  875. until the appear of the lord Jesus Christ.

  876. Now that helps a little bit but wait

  877. a minute. Yeah. Okay. The charges to keep

  878. the command, put then in the questions, beg

  879. the question. What's the command? Right?

  880. What's the command?

  881. Well, back up. Gotta go back. That's why

  882. I said we need verse 12. Context actually

  883. back up to verse

  884. 11.

  885. And before you read verse 11, keep in

  886. mind the context, so we understand what the

  887. command is, the... The context is

  888. The verses that preceded versus 5 through 10,

  889. where walk warns about these false teachers now

  890. how they teach that god is a means

  891. of financial gain.

  892. Name and claimant it, folks,

  893. bla it and grab it. You know, God

  894. wants you to be rich in this world

  895. and he wants you to to get sick

  896. and be a king's skin. And and where

  897. they get the focus on you and us

  898. and as, you know, 1 popular

  899. Tv preacher what was popular Tv preacher in

  900. the nation, Writes a book called. Live your

  901. best life now. You know? It's not about

  902. eternal life. It's live your life best life

  903. now.

  904. That's Joel. Okay? I don't have to always

  905. say the names, but pete saying, why isn't

  906. he saying the name? Okay. I say it

  907. enough, you know, Those kind of things. Those

  908. are sad things. And then he warns them

  909. that those who will seek to be rich

  910. in this world. If you live for riches,

  911. he talks about plunging yourself in a ruin

  912. and instruction.

  913. And many pierce themselves with many hurts and

  914. have wandered away from the faith. So he

  915. warns them, don't live for riches.

  916. Don't live for riches. Okay?

  917. It it's destructive.

  918. And... But so understand the context. So before

  919. you get verse 11, Paul's giving him that

  920. instruction.

  921. I'm tempted to read all this verse again,

  922. but I'd... But I'm just... But I've gotta

  923. get to the newer.

  924. But I I want understand the context. So

  925. the command

  926. is this, in light of him telling them,

  927. Timothy and warning them that we brought nothing

  928. in the world. We'll bring nothing out of

  929. the world not to live for the things

  930. this world. In light of warning to him

  931. that way.

  932. He says in verse 11, but what?

  933. But flee

  934. these things.

  935. Flee these things what? The desire to be

  936. a rich person. Yeah. Desire to be richer,

  937. and and by the way, guys, we're filthy

  938. rich compared to most of the world. This

  939. just being honest.

  940. K?

  941. Well, wait a minute. He said, you... Contradicts

  942. 20 we're we're living... No. Guess what we're

  943. in a a affluent society.

  944. Okay?

  945. We're so rich.

  946. You know, the Emperor had the most incredible

  947. transportation

  948. But if you have a car right now,

  949. your transportation blows his away.

  950. Right? I remember Brian Bean showed with me

  951. 1 time. He was reading something about

  952. how that Roman Emperor would sometimes, you know,

  953. want an icy.

  954. Not how he put it, but he'd go

  955. all the way to the swiss alps

  956. not him, but people would take horses in

  957. have horses station in different areas. So a

  958. guy could run a horse to death, they

  959. get on the next horse.

  960. Then get on another horse. And get some

  961. ice for the king and bring it back

  962. horse to horse to horse.

  963. Guess what? You just go to the convenience

  964. store go 07:11. I... And you got flavored

  965. ice. Probably takes way better than what the

  966. king had

  967. with Amp had. Right? We're filthy rich.

  968. Compared to most people in the world you

  969. are as well.

  970. I'm not condemning you. This... We're born into

  971. an affluent society. But what do we live

  972. for? Amen?

  973. Or... And and guess what happens? It's never

  974. enough. I always need more. Always need more.

  975. Don't be a leech.

  976. Okay?

  977. And

  978. he gives instruction a little bit later versus

  979. we're going to verse 16 today. We're gonna

  980. finish at verse 16. Lord William. Verse 17,

  981. 18 and 19, instruct

  982. Versus versus 10 through

  983. 15, he warns about the false teachers who

  984. teach this false doctrine to be rich. And

  985. then he warns about what it is like

  986. for those

  987. the danger to want to be rich, but

  988. versus 17,

  989. 18 and 19 he warns, those who are

  990. rich. Okay?

  991. And now I know relative to our society.

  992. There's people that are far richer than probably

  993. all here, you know?

  994. Which is true,

  995. but we have to be careful

  996. that that we keep 2 things in mind.

  997. We shouldn't

  998. live for money number 1. And number 2,

  999. we need to be wise and

1000. loving and caring and compassionate with the resources

1001. that god has given us as servants of

1002. God amen. And that's the instruction that Paul

  1003. will give

  1004. in versus 17 8 to 19, which we

1005. don't have time to get into. But understand

1006. this, the context is, after he warns about

1007. living for to be rich. In that context,

1008. he says what, verse 11. That's where verse

1009. 11 appears. And this is the command.

1010. This command this the charge that he gives

1011. Timothy and the presence of of God the

  1012. father and God son.

1013. But flee from these things.

1014. Don't be running after the riches, flee from

1015. these things, you man of God. The only

1016. time man of God is found in the

1017. new testament, by the way.

1018. Timothy called the Man of god. And it's

1019. reserved to saying, do you wanna be a

1020. man of God you flee from those things.

1021. Flee from these things, you man of God

  1022. and what?

  1023. Pursue what?

1024. Now you're fleeing, but you're not just fleeing

  1025. away from something you're

1026. pursuing, you're fleeing something, but you're also following

  1027. something else.

  1028. You're following after you're pursuing righteousness.

  1029. God,

  1030. faith,

  1031. love,

  1032. perseverance

  1033. and gentleness.

1034. These things that riches can't buy.

1035. But these things with which

  1036. without you are empty.

1037. If you don't have righteousness,

  1038. god,

1039. you don't have faith. Possibly if you don't

  1040. have love, you're wed.

1041. You're nothing, perseverance and gentleness,

1042. gentleness fruit of the spirit. If the the

1043. lost world system doesn't have true love. They

  1044. don't have the Ag

1045. or the ag agave love of God and

  1046. they're empty.

1047. So flee these things, you man have God

1048. and pursue righteousness god in his faith love

1049. and perseverance and gentleness. And then what? What's

  1050. the next word?

1051. This is part of the command. This is

1052. part of the charge, fight the good fight.

1053. There it is. A faith. Amen. So you

  1054. could have 3 f's here. Flee,

1055. follow and fight. Here's the command, guys. Flee,

1056. right? Flee, try to pursue riches. Don't do

  1057. that.

1058. Follow after righteousness and the things he's mentioned

1059. there and fight the good fight of faith

1060. they hold on eternal life. Amen,

1061. This is the command. This is a charge.

1062. So in your life, brothers and sisters,

1063. you should actively keep in mind throughout your

1064. christian walk that I need to flee the

  1065. temptation.

  1066. To be rich.

  1067. I need to pursue,

1068. follow after righteousness and and faith and love

1069. and, you know, perseverance god is, all these

1070. things he mentions here. Gentleness.

1071. And said very, very important that we get

1072. this. In fact, you know a lot of

1073. people have favorite portion of scripture, know, it's

1074. portion of the scripture sometimes that you just

  1075. go to. Right?

  1076. You just go to,

1077. some some of you open up the book

1078. of psalms. Right? You Some of you like

1079. to go to the proverbs, You know, Mark

1080. Hunter, you know, lisa's brother,

1081. comes Sundays. He lives out of towns, but

1082. but he comes most Sundays.

1083. And sometimes mid week. He's always reading proverbs.

1084. Oh, and an over again. He loves problems.

1085. He reads a lot about the scripture too,

  1086. but he loves prove.

  1087. That's awesome.

1088. Some love to focus on those 2 books,

1089. some love to focus. You know what? A

1090. focus should be for your Christian walk at

1091. times. If you wanna make sure you keep

1092. your walk right with God right here in

  1093. this portion of scripture.

  1094. It's Wise Counsel.

1095. It's a very powerful. If poor of scripture

1096. to keep our focus right.

1097. What we should be fleeing from, what we're

1098. supposed to be pursuing and following

1099. and how we're supposed to be fighting the

1100. good fight amen. It's a very, very important

1101. passage of scripture. I love this. So... But

  1102. he but it's interesting.

1103. So he tells him what the flee from

1104. tells them what to follow, tells me how

1105. to fight the good fight and lay hold

1106. on nature eternal life. This is the command.

1107. This is the the charge for Timothy,

1108. And guess what? Think out revolutionary that is.

1109. If you truly are fleeing,

1110. living for the material world.

1111. Praise the Lord the... We're gonna talk about,

1112. next time we get together because either instruct

1113. those who are rich in this world.

1114. Anybody who has things, material things,

1115. that he god gives gets has given us

1116. all things to enjoy. So I'm not preaching

  1117. pure as

1118. and God wants to have anything, we should

1119. all leave in live in tents and and

1120. find out how somewhere and or whatever, or

1121. no. I'm not talking like that. Okay? About

  1122. That's the other... That's the other extreme. I'm

1123. not talking about that. I'm talking about not

1124. living for things, but living for Jesus. Seeking

1125. first, the king of God. And his righteousness.

1126. Hey men, are you with me? Sir Seek

1127. first kindergarten got his races all these things

1128. about it to you? Woo, he's not a

1129. against the things. Seek for his kingdom of

1130. God and as righteousness and all these things

1131. will be added to you. He wants to

1132. bless you with things. In fact, he tells,

1133. instruct those that are rich in this world

  1134. versus 17 18 19.

1135. To share their wealth with others and God's

1136. give us all things to enjoy. Sir. So

1137. he does wanna bless you. So I'm not

1138. trying to be, like, holy, man, if if

1139. you have anything, you should you should feel

1140. guilty. No. But I'm saying if you live

1141. for those things, you don't live for Jesus,

1142. you ought to feel guilty. Sir You ought

1143. to confess that and repent of that and

1144. make sure you're putting Jesus first. Amen.

1145. Amen. Are you with me tonight? Yes, sir.

1146. Praise the Lord. Or some you saying, I

1147. wish you would preach like this. No. That's

1148. why you come here, Amen. We get into

1149. the word. You know, We love the Lord

1150. we wanna do his well, Lord. Help us

1151. to wanna do your will more and where

1152. we praise your name you are so good,

  1153. Lord.

  1154. So,

1155. then he says in verse 12,

1156. that the middle of verse 12 because that

1157. we kinda cut it off the middle of

  1158. verse 12,

  1159. b, 12 b will call it. And you

1160. made a good confession in the presence of

1161. many witnesses. I charge you the presence of

1162. God who gives life to all things and

1163. and of Christ Jesus who testified the good

1164. confession before conscious pilot. Right?

1165. And that it's... In that context that he

1166. says you keep the command,

1167. without saying or approach. So that's the command,

  1168. guys.

1169. Man, if you can say, hey, man, this

1170. is an important charge that Lord's giving me.

1171. Don't live for this world system, live for

1172. Jesus. Amen, and fight the good fight. Your

1173. your Christian Blanc be in great shape. It's

  1174. not that complicated.

1175. Are you fighting a good fight? First of

1176. all, you fleeing those things? Or you're fleeing

  1177. after those things?

1178. Second of all, are you pursuing

  1179. righteousness. Right? God.

1180. Right? Faith and love, and you know, gentleness,

1181. are you pursuing these things?

1182. It's very, very important. And notice what he

1183. says at the end of verse 14,

1184. that you keep the command with without stain

1185. or rep approach until what.

1186. Until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1187. Until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1188. Now this is amazing because he's emphasized our

1189. focus should be the lord's return

1190. now, Lord's return is it just an event,

1191. it's the event in the future because everything

  1192. flows to him.

1193. At the end, and every knee confess every

1194. tongue confess. Every knee bowser say every tongue...

1195. And the every knee confess the little knee.

1196. Praise jesus. You know, but every knee will

1197. confess every tongue, every knee will bow. Every

1198. tongue will confess. I didn't it again.

1199. That he is Lord Of, and that's everybody

1200. on earth, you know, in heaven under the

1201. earth everywhere. Everyone's confess. Everything's flowing to the

  1202. throne guys,

1203. and everything's gonna be transformed.

  1204. You be with him,

  1205. away from him

  1206. forever and ever.

1207. So that's what we're looking forward to. And

1208. this command about his appearing whether you're alive

1209. or dead. It matters because guess what. If

1210. you're dead, the dead Chris arrives first, they're

1211. looking forward to a companies as well. Guys,

1212. they're gonna they're gonna come with him with

1213. the armies they heaven And when we caught

1214. beat them there, then they're gonna come and

1215. rain. So you're always should be looking for

1216. the second covenant of Christ, whether you are

1217. alive or whether you're dead. Think about it

1218. that way. It's pretty heavy. When we think

  1219. about like that.

1220. Now now, it's quite interesting because this reminds

  1221. me

  1222. of

1223. this this word appearing here and the context

1224. of living a holy life and not living

1225. for the world reminds me of a warning

  1226. in first Peter,

    1 Peter 3 chapter mention

  1227. chapter 3.

1228. In first, Peter chapter 3 verse 17,

1229. he's also telling him telling them to to

1230. not let the world suck him in to

1231. look forward to the lord's return and to

1232. live pure in holy lives. In verse 13

1233. he says, therefore, Peter says, prepare your minds

  1234. for action.

  1235. Keep sober and spirit.

1236. Keep sober and spirit fix your hope completely

1237. on the grace to be brought to you

1238. at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient

1239. children do not be conform to the former

1240. lust, which were yours in your ignorance. In

1241. other words, don't go after those things, flee

  1242. those former less,

1243. verse 15, but like the the 1 like

1244. the holy 1 who called you. Be holy

1245. yourselves also in all your behavior because it

1246. is written, you shall be holy for I

  1247. am holy.

  1248. If you address

1249. as father, the 1 you who partially judges.

1250. Remember he's watching everything. He's the witness, According

1251. to each one's work, conduct yourselves, in the

1252. in fear during the time of your stay

1253. on earth, conduct yourselves in the fear of

1254. god while you're on Earth,

1255. that sounds a lot like, you know, I

1256. charge you the presence of God. Amen.

1257. Out of the Lord Jesus Christ. He's gonna

1258. judge us, and we need to... We

1259. your life and my life should be revolutionized

1260. by the fear of god, the fact that

1261. we're gonna stand before the 1 who judges

1262. all things. Amen. Now we should be grateful

1263. and praise god and say thank you, jesus

1264. for dying for my sins. I'm saved.

1265. Amen, But we're also still gonna still stand

1266. you for the judgment seat of Christ. A

1267. give an account for our lives. So it's

1268. live lives that are worthy of our calling

1269. as we're commanded. And we wanna hear, we

1270. we will hear well done good faithful servant.

1271. You're faithful of the, you know, small amount

1272. of things. Now you'll be ruler of many

1273. enter into the the the the joy of

1274. your Lord. We're looking forward to that Amen.

1275. Now it's interesting. Notice the translation, and I

1276. don't care what you have for the most

1277. part, I think they probably all use the

  1278. same word appearing there.

  1279. Appearing.

  1280. Right?

1281. So it's important that you get this is

  1282. that

  1283. he says,

1284. that you to keep the command

1285. without staying or approach until the appearing of

  1286. our Lord, Jesus Christ.

1287. That's interesting that he uses that word appearing

1288. because the word appearing there

1289. is a greek word that's not used often

  1290. of Jesus is coming, let's it's used a

1291. few times, in the pastor roll epi,

1292. to use more than once. It's used

  1293. in Second thessalonians it's 2 8 of Christ

  1294. coming. But it's a it's an interesting

  1295. Greek word. It's a pi... P.

  1296. K?

  1297. Or epi Fe. Cam I'm I'm I'm connect...

  1298. I'm, I'm

1299. putting the English word with the Greek word

1300. and pronouncing it wrong, but it's a...

  1301. It's a Pi.

  1302. Okay. Ep,

  1303. like Epi epicenter, epi,

1304. Ep, in the word, ep

  1305. Fe.

1306. Okay? Or what English would you think comes

  1307. from Epi?

  1308. What's that?

  1309. Epiphany.

  1310. Epiphany.

  1311. Epi

1312. is the word from which we get epiphany,

1313. Another greek word. That's used of the coming

  1314. more often is par.

1315. Par means speaks of his presence is coming,

  1316. the second coming.

  1317. Of Jesus,

1318. another Greek word speaking of his coming is

  1319. apocalypse.

  1320. K? The word

1321. Per is AAA word that speaks of come

  1322. in. Apocalypse

  1323. speaks of unveiling

1324. like the apocalypse, but it's use of his

  1325. coming. The apocalypse

1326. with the word apocalypse from it. Apocalypse is

  1327. also

1328. unveiling, like, lifting the curtain, taking the lid

  1329. off, unveiling

  1330. But,

  1331. ep Fe,

1332. the epiphany of Christ, the epi

  1333. has to do with

  1334. Jesus appearing.

1335. Epiphany. And it's a very interesting Greek word.

  1336. It's a supernatural

1337. manifestation of divine reality, a moment of great

1338. or sudden revelation when it's used for somebody

1339. of a revelation that God truly gives you

1340. from his word by his spirit,

  1341. so it's interesting,

  1342. but it speaks of,

  1343. of his appearing,

  1344. his little appearing.

  1345. Every eye will what.

1346. See him. And they also which pierce all

1347. are well because we used.

1348. Gonna see him. Jesus says I'm not coming

  1349. secretly.

  1350. Right?

  1351. But he says what?

1352. When I come back, it won't be like

1353. the secret rapture. He says if they say,

  1354. it's... I'm secret, don't believe him. He said,

1355. I come back, be like lightning shining for

1356. these east to the west. You can't miss

1357. it. Hey, amen. This is a glorious appearing

1358. that we long for. In Titus chapter 2

    Titus 2:11

1359. verse 11, we read for the grace of

1360. God has appeared. Bringing salvation to all men,

1361. instructing us to deny and god and worldly

1362. desires and to live sen righteous godly in

1363. this present world. Looking for the blessed hope

1364. and the appearing of our the glory of

1365. our Great God and savior Christ Jesus, who

1366. gave himself for us to redeem us from

1367. every law deed, and a purify for himself

1368. a people for his own possession, Zealous for

1369. good deeds. Isn't that awesome?

  1370. So

1371. we're looking forward for the blessed hope.

1372. Some people like, oh, man, There's... Give you

1373. a blessed hope and you know, the church

1374. got shaken recently is... I can't tell you

1375. how many of you and other people outside

1376. the church text me after,

1377. you you know, this... What something what's the

  1378. guy's name.

1379. He was on Tucker Carlson, a country artist,

1380. John Rich. And they go. Everybody's he's like,

1381. did you see him? He was on Tucker

1382. Carlson, and he started reading from the scripture

1383. saying, we're not... We're gonna go through the

1384. tribulation. A lot of pre trevor is gonna

1385. get upset with me with saying this, but

  1386. it's true. And Tucker was like, I didn't

1387. even heard about what we're gonna go through

1388. and Tucker was, I just read the bible

1389. last year. And he reads him second thessalonians

1390. his chapter 2. You know, first few verses

1391. that don't be deceived. Right?

  1392. What's that?

1393. Fine. So. He did pick up on buying

  1394. and selling.

  1395. Yeah.

1396. Yeah. Tucker was kinda startled. I never read

1397. that. And almost it's here.

1398. Yeah. Well, he said he didn't he didn't

1399. understand it. You know? Yeah. Yeah. I didn't

1400. understand it. So... And and then guess what?

1401. The Internet went wild. You know?

1402. I can't believe this guys guy said when

1403. you go through the tribulation. Takes a country

1404. artist to say this to people. It's like,

1405. come on, man. So this kind of a

1406. trip. You know? So we're looking for not

1407. a secret rapture. We're looking for his glorious

  1408. appearing Ama amen.

1409. Every I will see him, like Late Shining

1410. for the east to west. Jesus said in

1411. Matthew 25 31 but when the son comes

  1412. in his glory.

1413. And all the angels with him, then he

1414. will sit on his glorious thrown. It's gonna

1415. be not this little squeaky thing that happens

  1416. that people miss.

1417. It's gonna be happy with a Trumpet man,

1418. and with a roar. Right? The voice of

1419. the arch angel. Right? Every Eye will see

1420. him. It's gonna be a glorious glorious

  1421. appearing.

1422. And it trips me out guys because

1423. when you look at the text here,

1424. and I think about this,

  1425. that word, epi.

  1426. K?

  1427. That word

1428. of his or his appearing is used

  1429. in Timothy as well

  1430. of his first coming.

1431. He didn't come as some phantom in his

  1432. first coming.

  1433. He didn't come,

  1434. you know,

  1435. secretly.

1436. In fact, listen to what second Timothy 01:10

    2 Timothy 1:10

  1437. says,

1438. but now has... But now,

1439. has been revealed by the appearing

  1440. epi

1441. of our savior Christ Jesus who abolished death

1442. and brought life and immortality to light through

  1443. the gospel. Amen.

1444. And it talks about his glorious appearing, the

  1445. second coming in Titus.

1446. Verse 13, but look at verse 11, for

1447. the grace of God has appeared

1448. appeared epi finance, the related that we're same

1449. word. Bringing salvation to all men. His first

1450. coming was an appearing amen.

1451. His second coming is a second appearing.

1452. God promised that he would come the first

  1453. time

1454. Did Jesus come the first time? Yes.

  1455. He did.

  1456. We're day ready?

1457. Some were some weren't. Yes. Is he coming

1458. a second time? Just like those prophecies were

1459. fulfilled brothers sisters. These prophecies are gonna be

  1460. fulfilled.

1461. Okay? And just like, first coming was history,

1462. someday is second coming, will be history.

1463. Question is what side of history will you

1464. be on? In fact, it's interesting.

1465. Those 2 Greek words, par for coming

1466. and epi Fe for appearing. Those 2 greek

  1467. words

1468. appear in 1 verse together of his coming.

1469. In second thessalonians chapter 2. Same chapter you're

    2 Thessalonians 2 chapter mention

1470. just talking about. Ray Mark, where talks about

1471. the coming the ana antichrist, and Jesus defeating

1472. him, and it says, in verse 8, then

1473. the La 1. That's Si antichrist. Then the

1474. La 1 will be revealed.

1475. And, by the way, a lot of people

  1476. are saying that Trump

1477. is the antichrist because he had a a

  1478. deadly wound

1479. and then he was healed, and then you

1480. say, it grace his ear.

  1481. I'm sure that hurt. It's not a... It's

1482. a bummer, but he it wasn't what says

1483. how the appearance of daily wound?

  1484. Yeah.

1485. Appearance of a daily wound means

1486. a deli wound. That doesn't appear to be

1487. a deadly wound. And then it says he'll

1488. be healed in the world with marvel. Is

  1489. everybody tripping Like, whoa,

  1490. Trump got a healed.

1491. From that that that ear blow. He's he's

  1492. whoa.

1493. No. Come on, guys. Okay. I'm sorry. If

1494. you're watching on Live stream, I love you

  1495. if that's your. I don't know it's not

  1496. personal. I don't know who has a you

1497. saw it's out there chad dealt with it

1498. in 1 of our podcasts, You know, you

1499. gonna wanna check that out for a deeper

  1500. review of that.

  1501. But guys,

1502. let's be careful when we pinned the tail

1503. on the Ana antichrist. Okay?

1504. You know? Because he... Can make us look

1505. foolish, you know? Now I'm not saying not

1506. to keep your eye on world leaders. I

1507. keep my on everybody. I keep my on

1508. Trump. I keep my eye on everybody. Okay?

1509. But at the same time, I don't wanna

1510. stretch the scriptures to make them say something

1511. they don't to prove so some kind of

  1512. you have.

  1513. Let's be careful.

1514. In that ana antichrist, when when Jesus comes

1515. back, though it's gonna be Gnarly.

  1516. So it's there's 2 companies of Christ. This

1517. first company came in humiliation.

1518. His second company comes at ex.

  1519. Amen.

  1520. His first coming,

1521. he came on a donkey. The second time

1522. he comes on a white horse. Amen. The

1523. first time he came he came to be

1524. killed. The next time he comes to kill

1525. his enemies. First time he became, he came

1526. to serve Next time he comes to be

1527. served. First time he came he became as

1528. a suffering servant in Amen. Next time he

1529. comes comes as the conquering king. Amen. First

1530. time he became he came as a lamb

1531. of God. Next time he comes... He's coming

1532. the lion as a lion of the tribe

1533. of Judah, Amen. So let's get excited about

  1534. his coming

  1535. Amen? Yes lord.

1536. And I love that the apostle Paul. You

1537. could go to second Timothy chapter 4, if

    2 Timothy 4 chapter mention

1538. you will, because he uses this word appearing

1539. again. In second Timothy chapter 4, and this

    2 Timothy 4 chapter mention

1540. is about him being ready. And this is

1541. second Timothy. This he writes not long before

1542. he is beheaded by nero

1543. According Eu cbs, the early, early

  1544. church historian,

1545. he lost his head to neuro about... I

1546. think I think he has that 60, you

  1547. know, late sixties,

1548. and look at negativity, Paul says this, for

1549. am already being poured out as a drink

  1550. offering.

1551. And the time of my departure has come.

1552. The old testament there were drink offerings where,

1553. Jacob, when his name has changed Israel, he

1554. pours out a drink offering to the lord.

1555. Their drink offerings prescribed in the law.

1556. Jesus is the ultimate drink offering for our

1557. salvation. Right? He said this cup is a

1558. cup which I poured out. For you is

1559. the covenant in my blood. He poured out

1560. his life for us. Paul's point out his

1561. life as a thank offering to Jesus.

1562. Okay. And he says, for I'm already being

1563. poured out as a drink offering, and the

1564. time of my departure come. I have fought

1565. the good fight. Check that out, man. That's

1566. at the end of his life, man.

1567. He Timothy he's telling being told by him

1568. and that first Timothy fight the good fight,

1569. but here he says, I have fought the

1570. good fight. Paul tells Timothy now. I have

  1571. finished the course.

1572. Praise the Lord, man. I have kept the

1573. faith. Praise the lord. In the future, there

1574. is laid up for me, the crown of

  1575. righteousness,

1576. which the Lord, the Righteous judge will award

1577. to me on that day, and not only

1578. to me, but also to all who have

  1579. what.

  1580. Have loved his

  1581. appearing.

  1582. Amen.

1583. How do he love appearing man? If you

1584. love me, keep my commandments, obey him, fall

1585. in love with him, look at what he's

1586. done for you and who he is,

1587. to know him is truly to love him

1588. when you know who God is. Amen.

1589. So it's just amazing when you think of

  1590. how wonderful

1591. our lord is. Now look at chapter

  1592. 6 verse 15,

1593. which he will bring about at the proper

  1594. time

1595. He's gonna bring his coming, it's gonna be

1596. perfect timing at the proper time. No 1

1597. knows a day in the hour. It's in

  1598. god's timing amen.

1599. And, God, the first coming, the first appearing

1600. was at the proper time.

  1601. I mean, it's perfect timing.

1602. Daniel chapter 9, certain Jews, Simeon and Anna,

    Daniel 9 chapter mention

1603. they were anticipating it. Others were anticipated, but

1604. they wanted to... Then the kick the booty

  1605. of the Romans.

1606. They didn't want him as a suffering servant

1607. yet. But he's like, no. You need to

1608. have your sins dealt with. That's the first

  1609. coming. Amen.

  1610. It was perfect timing

1611. in many respects. The Greeks had been rolling

  1612. before the Romans

1613. and everybody... So many people were speaking Greek,

1614. There was not a language that was so

1615. universal until the Greeks ruled now the Greeks

1616. ruled setting up to where the Gospel was

1617. spread in Greek around the world. Oh, but

1618. it was so hard to travel through the

1619. world because it weren't a lot of roads.

1620. Well, that's where the Roman government came in,

1621. took over from the Greeks, and they built

  1622. all these roads.

1623. And it's real dangerous travel but guess what?

1624. The Romans are rolling so you could actually

1625. travel from place to place. And in I

1626. in fact, even Roman soldiers who he became

1627. Christians, They're are the first ones that show

  1628. the gospel in Britain,

1629. Roman soldiers that Christians that were stationed there.

1630. Perfect timing and the fullness of time, Paul

  1631. says in Galatians 4 4.

1632. Jesus was born the first time. And the

1633. second time it's be perfect timing all over

1634. again. Yes. It's gonna be heavy to see

1635. it. Are you still with me?

  1636. So

1637. let's be excited Let's get excited about the

1638. lord's return. Let's not try to pick

1639. pick exact dates that's very dangerous.

  1640. I met a guy and I talked to

  1641. him for a while,

1642. and saw him speak. I didn't Cole deal.

1643. And he wrote a book Christ returns by

  1644. 19 88.

  1645. 101

  1646. reasons why.

1647. I disagree with him. I got into it

1648. with him in a loving way.

1649. In fact, he had a pre trip rapture

1650. going to, so I just hit him with

1651. the post trip stuff, you know? Well, what?

1652. Last trumpet it dah the and we just

1653. went back and forth. But I knew he

1654. was wrong because I knew jesus was wasn't

  1655. coming 19 8 because it was a couple

1656. years before that, when I was watching speak,

1657. I'm like, he was talking about the second

1658. coming in at 88 and or that, you

1659. know, and I'm like, these things aren't even

  1660. lining up.

1661. Stay away from the weird stuff on the

1662. internet guys? Okay. Be very, very careful. You

1663. don't want egg on your face. Amen?

  1664. Now,

1665. let's go to the rest of the verse

1666. or the... Sorry, verse 15 again, the last

1667. part of that. He is the blessed and

  1668. only sovereign,

  1669. check this out.

1670. Now, Paul just breaks forth in praise.

1671. He who is the blessed and only sovereign

1672. the king of kings and Lord of Lords.

1673. He's the only sovereign, man.

  1674. Right? He's sovereign.

1675. He works all things together for the good

1676. for those who 11 are the call the

1677. purpose. He's a maker of all things. Amen.

1678. No 1 can fort him, amen.

  1679. He he,

1680. in him, we live and move and have

  1681. our being.

1682. Right? He's made all things visible and invisible

  1683. Amen.

  1684. He's on the throne. Amen, Jeremiah 32 17.

1685. Oh, sovereign Lord. You have made the heavens

1686. and the earth by your great power and

1687. outs stretch arm, nothing is too hard for

  1688. you. Amen.

1689. Revelation 04:11. You are worthy our Lord and

    Revelation 4:11

1690. God to receive glory and honor and power

1691. for you created all things and by your

1692. will, they were created and they have their

  1693. being Amen.

1694. I love that, man. In Daniel chapter 2,

    Daniel 2 chapter mention

1695. Daniel talks about how he sets up kings,

1696. and he opposes kings. Abi, if she said

1697. look at this Babylon that I've made. He

1698. gets humbled for 7 years. Right? And eats

1699. to dew and grass and so forth. And

1700. then he comes out of it. And he

1701. says when I regain my sanity

  1702. He says

1703. that I raised my eyes toward heaven, and

1704. my reason returned to me, and I blessed

1705. the most high and praised and honored him

1706. who lives forever. For his dominion an ever

1707. last dominion. And his kingdom endure from generation

1708. to generation. All of the inhabitants in the

1709. Earth are counted as nothing

1710. But he does according to his will in

1711. the host of heaven and among the inhabitants

1712. of the Earth, and no 1 can ward

1713. off his hand or say to him, what

  1714. have you done.

1715. That's Debbie Kin our, man.

1716. Jesus Christ. Revelation 17. Verse 14 is coming

1717. back as king of kings and Lord of

1718. Lords. Revelation 19 he comes back on his

  1719. white horse versus 15 to 16 is a

1720. name written on his thigh, King of kings

1721. and Lord of Lords. And that brings us

1722. to that last verse. Okay?

  1723. And we see that.

1724. He's mentioned here in this last verse,

1725. and I I really want you to focus

1726. on it for a moment because We're getting

1727. here to the end of our deal, but

1728. verse 15 b, he who is blessed. Right?

1729. And the only sovereign the what,

1730. king of kings and Lord of Lords. He's

1731. called that varies. He's called that revelation 17

1732. is he's that called that in revelation,

  1733. 19 as well. He's not just a king,

1734. man. He's he's king of kings, and he

  1735. is Lord

1736. of Lords, and that's important to understand

  1737. in fact,

1738. when you're looking at this, and I'm gonna

1739. I'm gonna try to end right right about

1740. here in a couple minutes here. Because when

  1741. you look at verse

  1742. 16,

1743. goes on to say that he what, who

  1744. alone possesses what. Mortality

  1745. mortality.

1746. God alone possesses mortality. But you say, well,

  1747. don't aren't we... Don't we have eternal life?

1748. The the the meaning there is he alone

  1749. possesses

  1750. immortality inherently.

1751. He is self existing the great I am

1752. from ever last to ever last, he never

1753. came into existence. The only way we can

  1754. have eternal life.

  1755. Is through him. Amen,

1756. as branches attached to the vine through having

1757. eternal life through him, who alone possesses mortality

  1758. and dwell what?

  1759. An una

  1760. light,

1761. whom no man has seen or can see

1762. You guys. No 1 has seen.

  1763. No 1 can't see him.

1764. Well, moses talked to him and says he

1765. talked to him face to face, not all

  1766. glory didn't.

1767. I wanna see you how I see your

1768. glory. Okay, Moses. I'll put you behind the

  1769. clef of a rock,

1770. and I'll let you see my after glow.

1771. And Moses is tripping out because you know

  1772. what he talks about?

  1773. Glory.

1774. Beauty, the the beauty of the lord. They

1775. talks about the justice of god upon the

  1776. wicked.

1777. And that was just from seen as after

  1778. glow

1779. because guess what? When Jesus Christ comes back.

1780. And he says that's a little of his

1781. glory out to the non believers.

1782. Like lightning, shining from the east the west.

1783. It says he destroys Louisiana chris with the

1784. spirit of his mouth and what?

1785. The brightness of his coming.

  1786. The catch, the brightness

  1787. The

  1788. of his par

1789. is what destroys the an antichrist is appearing.

  1790. Think about that. That's why in Z 14

  1791. people's

1792. standing there to make war with him, Their

1793. eyes dissolve. From their sockets and their tongue

1794. is dissolved from their mouths.

  1795. What a powerful God?

1796. But we won't see him.

  1797. Well, there's a promise though. No 1 has

1798. seen him or can't see him right now.

  1799. Right?

1800. Psalm 18 11 He made darkness his secret.

1801. He hid himself in the clouds and thick

1802. darkness. In executing his judgments. He did not

1803. allow himself to be seen. But guess what?

1804. We read in Matthew 5 8. The Lord

1805. Jesus Christ said, the sermon mount blessed are

1806. the pure in heart for they show what?

  1807. They shall see God.

1808. Revelation 22 4 the last chapter of the

  1809. Bible.

1810. They will see his face,

1811. and his name will be on their forehead.

1812. How incredible is that? And when John sees

1813. him on the throne in the vision in

  1814. Revelation 4,

1815. he talks about these beautiful colors as rainbow

  1816. on the throne.

1817. And he's just seen a vision. You not

1818. seen laws glory yet, And he's just blown

1819. away. Right? And they... In the living creatures

1820. on fall down because he's so beautiful. We're

  1821. going to see him.

1822. And the last part of that verse,

1823. the last part of the last verse were

1824. studying night to him be wet.

  1825. Honor

  1826. an eternal dominion.

  1827. All amen.

1828. Now check this out guys.

1829. This this blew me away. First time I've

  1830. seen this.

1831. First time I saw this, and it really

1832. minister to me, and I give this to

1833. you to really think about.

  1834. You see this do.

1835. Okay? Do means to speak praise.

  1836. You see this

1837. right in the middle of him talking about

  1838. the rich.

1839. You know what I see over and over

  1840. overhead commentaries,

1841. and commentary commentaries are great. Otherwise I don't.

  1842. And there's a lot of good commentaries, a

1843. lot of good things gotta check everything thing.

1844. But over and over what I'm saying, We

1845. don't know why Paul breaks forth and praise

1846. right here, you know? Because he just breaks

1847. forth and praise because he's excited, but We

1848. don't know if there's any rhyme or reason.

1849. Some will try to say there's rhyme or

  1850. reason,

1851. but it hit me like a ton of

  1852. bricks today.

1853. And I thought this is so good by

  1854. way of application.

1855. Because he's praising him, but then he gets

1856. into what verse 17 and instruct those who

1857. are wet. Rich. The point is is

  1858. 1 comment I read no kidding. I read

  1859. this last week.

  1860. Paul

1861. wants to end here with this,

1862. but then he decides all I need to

1863. say something else to the rich.

1864. No. That's not what's going on. Paul was

1865. saying, I'm gonna end here. Oh, I better

1866. say something to the rich. He's been inspired

  1867. by the holy spirit.

1868. But, you know what's happening here.

1869. He's talking about the great the period of

  1870. our Lord God.

1871. And it's gonna be glorious.

1872. And that's the end goal. And he begins

1873. to praise him because he's coming. And you

  1874. know how I believe that's why I know

1875. I believe really strongly that that that's true

  1876. is because

1877. If you go to first Timothy 1, go

  1878. to first Timothy 1,

  1879. check this out. Okay.

  1880. He's talking about Christ's first coming.

1881. His first appearing. He's talking about how he

1882. was the chief of sinner and all that

1883. and how Christ would demonstrate his perfect patience

1884. as an example to those who would believe

1885. in him to eternal life.

1886. What Jesus did for him in his first

1887. coming. Then guess what he does. He breaks

  1888. into.

1889. Now to the king eternal immoral invisible, the

1890. only God be honored and glory forever and

  1891. ever amen.

1892. Betty goes on. Do you think Timothy is

1893. Paul was gonna end there. He said, oh,

1894. wait. I got get more to say, no.

1895. He's breaking forth and praise because Jesus came

1896. to save him the first time Amen.

1897. He's breaking forth the praise, the second time

1898. because there's gonna be a second period amen.

1899. And this is why hit me like a

  1900. ton of bricks.

1901. And by wave of application, I encouraging this.

  1902. A,

1903. praise him for the first time he came

1904. to save you. Why do you think Christmas

1905. is the most radical, wonderful precious

1906. holiday for so many people. Because they're celebrating

  1907. the,

1908. his first coming the incarnation amen. That Don't

1909. wait for the 20 fifth of December, Christmas

1910. should be every day for us, we should

1911. always be thanking him. And guess what? If

1912. you do this in your life, and you

1913. praise him for his first coming. And why

1914. he did for your sins on the cross,

1915. you won't get a hung up about the

1916. past. You won't cost be worried about the

  1917. past. You won't cost me said I can't

1918. believe this person did this to me. I

1919. can't believe I did it that person and

1920. be rid of by guilt anxiety because of

1921. your past. No. You'll be like, praise you

1922. Jesus. For saving me for my sins, and

1923. all things I did in the past. Amen.

1924. And guess what? You start praising to my

1925. apologize for his second p amen. You won't

1926. get all hung about the future. Oh, things

1927. are getting worse. Oh, 0, the left and

1928. the walker are talking about climate change, and

1929. and and the rights talking about this out

1930. of the other, and the world's gonna cave

1931. in. Look yeah. Things aren't gonna get bad.

1932. It says that scripture amen. Yeah but it's

1933. not how they. Saying it's gonna get bad,

1934. but it says when the world's hearts are

1935. filling them for fear things coming to the

1936. earth. That Wes is believe we're gonna look

1937. up and guess what it says that we're
